Vandaag bespreek ik de laatste 5 elpees in deze reeks. Nummer 497 kocht ik in 1976 en dat was een dubbelalbum met Diverse Artiesten. Titel: 'Rockwork', uitgebracht door CBS in 1975 en de hoes viel goed mee. Kostprijs: 284 BEF voor maar liefst 34 flink uit de kluiten gewassen rocknummers afgewisseld met power ballads! Dat is ongeveer 8 BEF per song, verwaarloosbaar dus.

Ik kies voor Bruce Springsteen met de auteursversie van 'Sandy (4th July, Asbury Park)', een grote hit voor The Hollies en in tweede instantie voor Blood, Sweat & Tears met 'Ride Captain Ride'!
Nummer 498 in mijn verzameling is een verzamelalbum uit de reeks Bingo! De elpee 'Bingo! 16 Hits voor zomaar een zomeravond geschreven en geproduceerd door Hans van Hemert' kocht ik in 1976 voor slechts 100 BEF want de koopjes waren weer in het land!
De vinylplaat werd uitgegeven door Philips Netherlands en bevat een mengelmoes van diverse stijlen, ooit geproducet door de Nederlandse producer Hans van Hemert die ooit Q65, Mouth & MacNeal, American Gypsy, Luv' en vele anderen onder zijn vleugels had. Zoals het een Nederlander betaamt komt hij ook tweemaal voor op zijn eigen plaat!

Liesbeth List heb ik eenmaal live gezien en gehoord in Brussel (11 november 1978) en daarom kies ik voor haar prachtig nummer 'Te Veel Te Vaak' en als tweede keuze Mouth & MacNeal met 'Ik Zie Een Ster', Eurovisiesongfestival 1974.
De volgende elpee, nummer 499 intussen, is een historische opname van het "American Folk Blues Festival 1963", uitgebracht door het Fontana platenlabel onder de titel 'Blues Jam'. Een live opname dus en mijn schoonvader zaliger zou daarop gezegd hebben "documentatie"!
Ook voor deze elpee hoefde ik slechts 100 BEF neer te tellen.

In tegenstelling tot vorige plaat kreeg dit album wèl een mooie hoes!
Hier haalden John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Chicken Shack, Fleetwood Mac, Long John Baldry en vele andere artiesten de mosterd!
Na lang zoeken vond ik 'Five Long Years (Live)' en 'Sittin' And Cryin' The Blues (Live)' op TjoepTjoep.
De 500ste elpee uit mijn collectie is alweer een live opname die door Star-Club Records uit West-Duitsland werd uitgegeven onder de titel 'The Star Club Anthology Vol. 4'. Volumes 2, 3 en 5 staken al in mijn (kleiner wordende) platenkast. Volume 1 heb ik nooit gevonden. Dit exempaar was eveneens te koop voor 100 BEF. Meer zou ik niet voor gegeven hebben want de kwaliteit van die live albums liet wat te wensen over!
Maar ook hier weer een historisch tijdsdocument! The Savage Young Beatles begonnen ooit hun loopbaan in de beruchte Star Club in Hamburg.
