1. The Original Night Stalker

The Original Night Stalker killed 10 people across southern California from the 70s to 80s. He mostly targeted couples, in which he forced the women to tie up their partner before shooting them. He was never caught.

2. The Max Headroom Signal Intrusion

On November 22, 1987, someone dressed in a Max Headroom mask hijacked two TV stations while moaning, laughing, and screaming. They were never caught, but reddit user bpaog claims to know who was behind it.

3. Capgras Delusion

The Capgras delusion “is a disorder in which a person holds a delusion that a friend, spouse, parent or other close family member (or pet) has been replaced by an identical-looking impostor.” There was even a case of a 74-year-old woman that believed her husband “had been replaced by another unrelated man.” She wouldn’t sleep with him and “asked her son for a gun.”

4. The Murder of the Dupont de Ligonneses

Agnes Dupont de Ligonnes and her four children were found murdered in 2011. Investigators believe that they were killed between April 3-4, but neighbors are sure that they saw Agnes days after that. Agnes’ husband, Xavier, is the main suspect in the case, but has yet to be caught.

5. Unit 731

Unit 731 was a “covert biological and chemical warfare research and development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army” which was infamous for doing experiments on humans. Vivisections were performed on humans without anesthesia and prisoners’ limbs were dipped in water and frozen to test treatments for frostbite.

7. The Cleveland Torso Murderer

In Cleveland in the 1930s, a killer that was never identified murdered 12 men and women. Most of the time, the cause of death was decapitation and dismemberment.

8. Overtoun Bridge

This bridge is located in West Dunbartonshire in Scotland. Many dogs have leapt off this ledge and died. What is weird, though, is that they were all from the same side of the bridge. A man threw his infant son over the bridge in 1994, believing his son was an incarnation of the devil.

9. Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter

Seven people at a rural farmhouse in Hopkinsville, Kentucky claimed they were harassed and terrorized by “creatures similar to gremlins” in 1955.

10. The Keddie Murders

Four people rented a cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains in 1981. They were found tied-up, bludgeoned and stabbed to death. A stake knife was found inside the cabin, and “had been used so forcefully that the blade had bent approximately 25 degrees.” The murderer was never caught.

The Grey Goo is a hypothetical situation that would cause the end of humanity as we know it. Self-replicating robots would build more and more of themselves, which would consume all of Earth in the process.

12. List of People Who Disappeared Mysteriously

The number of people that have disappeared and are never heard from again is startling. The list is creepy enough it may keep you in your apartment, forever.

13. Rat Torture

Torture is awful to begin with, but what if it involved a rat? Well, during the National Reorganization Process in Argentine, rats were inserted into the rectum or vagina using a tube. And during the Dutch Revolt, bowls of rats were placed down on prisoners’ bodies and heated, which caused the rats to chew through people’s flesh in an attempt to escape the heat.

14. The Voynich Manuscript

The Voynich Manuscript was written with an unknown system that was carbon-dated back to the early 15th century. Cryptographers have tried to decode it, but have been unsuccessful.

15. Kaz II

This has been referred to as “the ghost yacht.” The three-man crew disappeared, but the shop was found in complete working order with the engine and a laptop running.

16. Cicada 3301

This was an organization that set up complicated puzzles to “recruit highly intelligent individuals.” People claimed to have “won” some of the three rounds of recruitment, but no one has provided detailed information to what the organization is exactly doing.

17. List of Unexplained Sounds

The sound of the Upsweep and the Whistle have yet to be explained, in addition to much more terrifying noises. Many sounds from the ocean are still unidentifiable because the ocean is so dense.

18. Postmortem Photography

There was a time when we posed the dead as if they were actually still living. We thought this may remind us of their character when they were alive, but instead, it was very creepy and gave us nightmares.

19. Phantom Time Hypothesis

This was allegedly the period between 614 and 911 A.D. when we added in retroactivity. This meant that events that happened during this time occurred at different points in history, or didn’t happen at all. It could be just a conspiracy theory, or is it?
