Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

On September 18, 2016 Frankie Lucena of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, photographed an enormous sprite over the Caribbean Sea. “This type of sprite is often called ‘jellyfish’ or ‘A-bomb,’ and ranks as the largest type of sprite in both horizontal and vertical dimensions,” he says. “It consists of a bright halo approximately 85 km above Earth’s surface surrounding sprite elements with long tendrils reaching down as low as 30 km above ground level.”
“This kind of sprite tends to be triggered by a very impulsive positive cloud-to-ground flash,” van der Velde said to spaceweather.
The curious thing is, Lucena did not observe an instigating lightning bolt. Instead, just before the sprite appeared, he recorded a bright point-like flash of light. “Was it a cosmic ray hitting the camera?” wonders Lucena. Another possibility: The point-like flash could have been a cloud-to-ground strike mostly eclipsed by intervening clouds.
If Lucena did photograph something new triggering a sprite, perhaps it shouldn’t come as a big surprise. The field is relatively new. Although sprites have been seen for at least a century, most scientists did not believe they existed until after 1989 when sprites were photographed by cameras onboard the space shuttle. There is still much to learn.

Lazar admitted that he worked inside Area S4, a small section of Area 51, and yet he was ridiculed by skeptics. Anyone that doesn’t believe Lazar clearly has no grasp on the subject of UFOs at all. News states: Robert “Bob” Lazar (born January 26, 1959) is a controversial individual who claims qualifications as a scientist and engineer and alleged that he worked with extraterrestrial technology at a site called S4 near the Area 51 test facility. Lazar claimed to have worked in 1988 and 1989 as a physicist at S4 allegedly located at Papoose Lake southwest of top secret Area 51 near Groom Dry Lake, Nevada. According to Lazar, S4 serves as a hidden military location for the study and research of extraterrestrial spacecraft, or flying saucers using reverse engineering.
Lazar says he saw nine different extraterrestrial vehicles there and has provided detailed information on the mode of propulsion and other technical details of a disc-shaped vehicle he called the sport model. Lazar’s credibility was challenged after it was discovered that “schools he was supposed to have attended had no record of him, while others in the scientific community had no memory of ever meeting him.”[2] Lazar’s supporters counter that Lazar’s credentials and history were sabotaged to create the very questions of credibility his critics have emphasized.
Lazar first appeared in the media in the late 1980s. He appeared on television on a local Las Vegas news program discussing his experience at S4 and Area 51. He was also featured in the Los Alamos Monitor in a story dealing with a jet car he claimed to have built with help from a NASA researcher. The car was built from a jet engine modified and placed on an existing car model.[3] The article stated that Lazar was “a physicist at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility”.
In the race to discover a proposed ninth planet in our Solar System, Carnegie’s Scott Sheppard and Chadwick Trujillo of Northern Arizona University have observed several never-before-seen objects at extreme distances from the Sun in our Solar System.
Sheppard and Trujillo have now submitted their latest discoveries to the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center for official designations. A paper about the discoveries has also been accepted to The Astronomical Journal.
The more objects that are found at extreme distances, the better the chance of constraining the location of the ninth planet that Sheppard and Trujillo first predicted to exist far beyond Pluto (itself no longer classified as a planet) in 2014.
The placement and orbits of small, so-called extreme trans-Neptunian objects can help narrow down the size and distance from the Sun of the predicted ninth planet, because that planet’s gravity influences the movements of the smaller objects that are far beyond Neptune. The objects are called trans-Neptunian because their orbits around the Sun are greater than Neptune’s.
In 2014, Sheppard and Trujillo announced the discovery of 2012 VP113 (nicknamed “Biden”), which has the most-distant known orbit in our Solar System.
At this time, Sheppard and Trujillo also noticed that the handful of known extreme trans-Neptunian objects all cluster with similar orbital angles. This led them to predict that there is a planet at more than 200 times our distance from the Sun. Its mass, ranging in possibility from several Earths to a Neptune equivalent, is shepherding these smaller objects into similar types of orbits.
Some have called this Planet X or Planet 9. Further work since 2014 showed that this massive ninth planet likely exists by further constraining its possible properties.
Analysis of “neighboring” small body orbits suggest that it is several times more massive than the Earth, possibly as much as 15 times more so, and at the closest point of its extremely stretched, oblong orbit it is at least 200 times farther away from the Sun than Earth. (This is over 5 times more distant than Pluto.)
“Objects found far beyond Neptune hold the key to unlocking our Solar System’s origins and evolution,” Sheppard explained. “Though we believe there are thousands of these small objects, we haven’t found very many of them yet, because they are so far away.
The smaller objects can lead us to the much bigger planet we think exists out there. The more we discover, the better we will be able to understand what is going on in the outer Solar System.”
Undersea phenomenon isn’t new to Russian submarines as they have been encountering it since the days of the Soviet Union.
The files on the so-called unidentified submersible objects (USOs) are still not available for public scrutiny. However, some of the sightings about encounters with undersea creatures and massive objects have leaked out. Researchers Paul Stonehill and Philip Mantle talked about the secret conflict in a new book.
They believe Russian government has been preventing any witnesses to tell the public on the truth beneath the waves.
They claim these encounters range from UFOs duping craft into the sea, meetings with underwater lifeforms, and mysterious submersibles.
One of the most extraordinary is what they called “The Swimmers”.
These so-called alien humanoids stand at three-meter tall and live at 50 meters in the icy underwater around Siberia.
Stonehill and Mantle feature the testimony of Major General V. Demyanenko, a Russian commander of the Military Diver Service. He reportedly warned his crews on the unknown creatures after some encounters in 1982.
These creatures are reportedly clad in a silvery suit and wearing sphere helmets. Soviet Navy divers of seven were thrown to the surface by a mysterious force after they tried to capture one of the creatures in a net.
In another odd encounter, Steamship Raduga has seen a massive fireball emerging from the ocean while sailing in the Red Sea in 1965. The unusual thing allegedly hovered 150 meters above the surface with a gigantic pillar of water around it before it dived again.
Russia Chief of the Pacific fleet’s intelligence department, Admiral V.A. Domislovsky, claimed to have seen an estimated 900 meters long object floating above the water in the Pacific Ocean.
Rear Admiral and nuclear submarine commander Yury Beketov claimed to have witnessed a mysterious activity involving USO in the Bermuda triangle. Based on their radar, the object was moving 250 mph below the surface.
Mr. Mantle said that the Soviet Union’s military fleet commanders kept their secret about the USO subject, and those witnesses who tried to share their experiences were debunked and ridiculed.

The female witness was travelling along the Bruce Hwy in her van, just north of Meringa. She observed a very bright white triangular shaped light high in the sky. The object was travelling on a north trajectory at a speed described as faster than a jet aircraft. The object was obscured from the witness’s view by some high trees ahead of the witness on the north side of the highway. The witness described the object as the shape of a long skinny triangle of bright white light, the edges of the shape were clearly defined and sharp.
The apex of the triangle was the leading point. The witness described the size of the object as similar to that of a B-747 aircraft when they fly over the area, or a little smaller than the size of the moon.
Additional Information: Checks with the Cairns Airport Traffic Control revealed no air traffic movements travelling north at the time of the sighting. The record logbook in the control centre had no abnormal sightings logged for the time. The object described does not appear to be a conventional aircraft as normal lighting configuration was not evident. The Milky Way has a dark twin. A dimly lit massive galaxy, called Dragonfly 44, consists of a record 99.99 per cent dark matter, and could help rewrite our theories of galaxy formation.
Dragonfly 44 is the Milky Way’s doppelgänger in mass, but its opposite in number of stars and structure.
“If you take the Milky Way and for every 100 stars you keep only one, then you’re getting pretty close,” says Pieter van Dokkum at Yale University. “You also have to put those remaining stars in a blender and mix them all up into a blob.” This galaxy doesn’t have the iconic spiral structure of the Milky Way nor is it a flat disc.
A dragonfly’s eye
And it’s not alone. Van Dokkum and his colleagues spotted it and its neighbours in 2014 with an array of telephoto lenses.
“By pulling them all together into this array, which makes them look like the eyes of an insect, we gather a lot more light,” says van Dokkum. Naturally, they called it Dragonfly.
When the team aimed Dragonfly at the Coma cluster, an immense cluster of galaxies 320 million light years away, they detected 47 faint smudges: galaxies that could be at least as large as the Milky Way, 100,000 light years from end to end, but which contain so few stars that they glow as dimly as dwarf galaxies.
There are two explanations for the appearance of these galaxies: they may be tightly bound by dark matter, the so-far-undetected substance thought to make up about 85 per cent of the mass of the universe. Either that, or they’re unstable – and the violent Coma cluster is currently ripping them to shreds.
How can it have so much dark matter?
To find out, van Dokkum and his colleagues observed Dragonfly 44, one of the largest of the galaxies, with the spectrograph on board the 10-metre Keck II telescope on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. This allowed the team to track how fast its few stars move around the galaxy and therefore calculate its mass: a faster speed means a more massive galaxy.
The team found that the stars clocked in at 47 kilometres per second, making Dragonfly 44 roughly a trillion times more massive than the sun. With so little normal matter, it must contains 99.99 per cent dark matter to hold itself together, which is much higher than the universe at large. It beats another similarly dark galaxy in the Virgo cluster discovered earlier this year, which is 99.96 per cent dark matter.
But astronomers are baffled as to how these dark galaxies arise. “It’s hard to argue with the observations, yet the conclusion from this paper runs counter to my understanding of how galaxies are formed,” says Marla Geha at Yale University. “I’m hoping these objects are rather rare and/or only form in special environments such as a dense galaxy cluster. Otherwise we may need to rewrite galaxy formation.”
George Knapp welcomed UFO researcher Yvonne Smith for a discussion about a mass abduction that took place on Coronado Island in San Diego. In the latter half, alien abduction researcher Melinda Leslie, and abductee Jesse Long (related video) joined the conversation. In March of 1994, the TRIAD UFO Conference was held at Coronado Island off San Diego, and among those in attendance were members of Smith’s group CERO (Close Encounters Research Organization). After the conference, a number of the attendees compared notes, and began to wonder if something strange had happened to them during their weekend at Coronado. Eventually, Smith pieced together various types of physical evidence and testimony that indicated alien abductions.
Closest Earth-like Planet Found 4.5 Light Years Away
Scientists at the La Silla Observatory in the outskirts of a Chilean desert, have made an unfathomable discovery of an unknown earth-like planet! The planet revolves around our closest star Proxima Centauri, a star which is actually part of a trinary star system.

Proxima Centauri revolves around the two stars Alpha Centauri A and B at a greater distance away, while Alpha Centauri A and B revolve around eachother very closely, the distance between the sun and Uranus.
The fact that this star system is so close it could potentially be reached by humans in a single life-time, is what makes this find so amazing. In a recent mission called the Kepler mission, scientists combed deep space looking for Earth-like exoplanets capable of supporting life, ones within their Habitable Zone and having liquid water.
The mission was successful at finding several hundred planets believed to be similar to Earth, with 216 also found within their parent star’s Habitable Zone(aka. “Goldilocks Zone”). However, the Kepler mission focused on planets hundreds of light years away, and seemed to overlook our nearest star, Proxima Centauri.
If all is found to be true, this would be the closest habitable world to the Earth!
Is there life there? Not likely, although it would be the best place to consider spreading the seeds of humanity!
In April of this year, Stephen Hawking himself just unveiled “Project Starshot”, a mission to send a space probe to Alpha Centauri in just 20 years. Yuri Milner, a Russian Billionaire who has teamed up with Mark Zuckerberg and Stephen Hawking, plans to send a laser driven craft to our closest neighboring trinary star system. They predict that the craft could reach 20% of the speed of light with new laser-sail technology. Project Starshot now has a good chance to be re-routed to Proxima Centauri.

Black-eyed children have been the talk of many para groups and curious readers who wonder – just what is going on here?
I cannot tell you if black-eyed kids exist, but I can say that there have been a lot of witness accounts and they seem to have many features that ring familiar among them. Sometimes, when I have not had a personal encounter with a subject, it's best for me to just say “if this happened, how did it happen?” What are black-eyed children? Well, some say it started as an urban legend, but with steadily more and more reports of seeing them. This reminds me of the shadow people phenomena. It was not widely spoken of until more modern times, but those who have seen them are in great numbers! You have to eventually begin to take these reports under study. Black-eyed children follow a scenario: They are children, with no whites to their eyes, pure black eyes, and pale skin. They are often soul-less in personality (think of Men in Black). BEKs approach adults in public places or even knock at your door and ask to be let in or ask for assistance, but the adult feels uneasy and as if there is something not right about the child. The child tries to avert his or her eyes so you don't see them. And, they are sometimes said to possess some level of mind control or mesmerizing qualities. Perhaps the best way to look at this phenomena is to listen to a witness encounter and then knock around some possible explanations.

(Source link for full story) A man was going to camp alone in Michigan for some quiet time away from his busy life. He stopped at a rest stop bathroom before he was going to head out on the trail. What he encountered changed his mind quickly. He entered the bathroom to hear some kids murmuring. When they looked up, he was shocked -
“The god damn kids have completely black eyes. No whites to their eyes at all…This is a pretty small bathroom and they were not more than three feet away. At first I can’t do or say anything. I am literally frozen with fear. The water runs over my hands, but I can’t feel it. I’m so deep inside my head at this moment that all I can hear are my thoughts, which were something like `Ahhhhhh!.' All joking aside, I was petrified…It was only when one of the kids, a brown haired boy that I would guess was around twelve took a step toward me that my fight or flight instincts took over control from my fear. I turned off the water, why I bothered I don’t know habit I guess, and moved a step back from the kids and toward the door. Seemingly sensing my fear the boy didn’t take another step toward me. Instead he stopped, on retrospect I can guess he was trying to keep from frightening me too much – didn’t work kid! `Can you help us?' That’s what the boy said when one of us finally spoke….”
The man said he couldn't and rushed to his car to drive off and away from a feeling of utter threat and dread. This feeling of dread is a continued theme among BEKs and also in the presence of shadow people. Considering the human body is a fair barometer of “weirdness,” “paranormal activity,” and “threat,” these two beings producing similar reactions is telling.

Possible explanations
Alien: Understandably, when something seems otherworldly, aliens become the “catch-all” explanation. But why would an alien need to masquerade as a child who is asking for assistance? If an alien could do such shapeshifting, why would they pretend to be children? Why not imitate your wife and walk right in the door? There are some holes in the idea of them being an alien, the greatest being motivation. Why? What could they accomplish in a child form? No one has reported an end goal of the interactions. Spirit of a murdered child: In this explanation, the fact that they are children makes sense. We would equate a ghost of a child to be child-sized. We would not necessarily equate them with being able to hitch rides, tug on someone's jacket to get attention, or hang out in places a dead child's spirit would not hang out (like the rest stop story above). They do ask for assistance or want entry into a car or home, but they do not seem to be in any distress and they often come in pairs or groups, which is a most odd behavior for a specter. As these beings repeat questions and seem almost automated, they do not show signs of having ever been human, just an automaton. Demon: The black figures, odd size, and feels they elicit make people jump to the demon explanation immediately. They do not seem to have a deadly agenda, just an unsettling one. A demon would surely get right to the point of its intentions if such a thing exists. The fact that these little people are insistent but rather passive does not show a lot of signs of true threat, only implied because they are so odd. Shadow person: I will throw this one out there. There is another 3-4 foot tall being that is purely black among us – shadow people. Shadow people seem to curiously want to watch us but freak out when we see them. What if one donned a human skin appearance? The only thing on them that would remain black is in the eye sockets. They could move among us without suspicion or detection as something “other.” And would carry that sense of dread and doom we have when we run into shadow people or BEKs. Well, it's a consideration…. Ultimately, like many other unexplained activities, we can't even prove that BEKs exist, so all we can do is suppose – if they do exist, what are they? The study of their behaviors and detailed witness encounters help give us many clues to understanding.

I was aboard the USS Williamson (Destroyer) in early 1943 during WWII. The weather was clear with calm seas. The night was very black. At the time of the sighting, we were patrolling the Bering Sea north of the Alaskan Peninsula, bearing north at about 20 knots. I was on watch at the starboard 20mm gun, second deck (galley deck). It was around 2300. My gun turret was above the deck house and there were no obstructions hindering my field of vision, allowing me to have a clear 360 degree view of the sea around the ship. There were four of us together at the starboard gun (I can get crew names and captain’s name).
The attention of both port and starboard gun crews was drawn to a row of red lights off the port side, traveling parallel to and slightly forward of the bow. I did not see the lights when they first approached so do not know the direction from which they came, or if they came out of the sea. There were at least eight lights in a row, evenly spaced, canted at about 15 degrees to horizontal. I would estimate the lights were no more than 100 yards from the ship. The lights held their relative position to one another throughout the sighting, and appeared to be about 10 feet apart. I would say that the light closest to the water (the lights were canted diagonal to horizontal at approximately 15 degrees) appeared to be about 30 feet above the water. I estimate that it would require a cantaloupe held at arms length to cover a single light. I could not see a structure associated with the lights as there was nothing but blackness between the lights. The lights were a very deep red and did not cast a beam. The lights moved parallel to our ship, holding their position relative to the ship throughout the entire sighting. The lights continued to pace the ship as I watched. This continued for at least one hour. I was relieved from watch at 2400. When I went below the lights were still visible. I was too tired to stay on deck and went below to sleep. The next day, the midnight gun crew said that the captain turned the ship and “tried” to chase the lights. I don’t know the outcome of this maneuver. I don’t know what the circumstances were when the lights disappeared. But I do know that I have not seen anything like this before or since.
World War II
7 December 1941, found Williamson under overhaul at the Puget Sound Navy Yard. After temporary duty with Destroyer Squadron (DesRon) 82, she helped to escort Maryland into the Puget Sound Navy Yard on 30 December. The tender completed her repairs and took on stores in January 1942 and then shifted to the Aleutians to resume her duties as a tender for the PBY’s of Pat Wing 4.
During the early wartime period, the ship performed local escort missions and delivered war materials to Army and Navy bases at Cold Bay, Seattle, Dutch Harbor, and Kodiak. Williamson and her sister tenders also stocked emergency seaplane bases with vital necessities: buoys, gasoline, lubricating oil, ammunition, and bombs. Those temporary sites provided shelter for PBY’s forced down by weather and proved valuable as alternate bases dispersed well enough to prevent a complete disaster if the Japanese attacked the established base sites. In addition, Williamson rescued and salvaged PBY’s closed out of their havens by the “notorious Alaskan fog.”
On 20 May, prior to the Japanese invasion of the Aleutians, Williamson rescued Brigadier General Simon Bolivar Buckner from Kiska, when the general and his party were stranded there by 60-knot winds that prevented seaplanes from taking off after completing an inspection tour of the Near and Rat Island groups. Early in June 1942, when the Japanese occupied Kiska and Attu in the Aleutians, as a diversion from the major Japanese thrust directed at the key atoll of Midway in the Central Pacific, Williamson lay at Umnak Pass, near the newly established Army airstrip there – the westernmost field in the Aleutian chain. Two Japanese planes from one of the carriers supporting the operation (either Ryūjō or Junyō) strafed the ship and wounded six men. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.

The prominent Soviet cosmonaut Pavel Popovich got the famous Blue Folder from the KGB in 1991. These days Mr. Popovich holds the position of honorary president of the Academy of Informational and Applied Ufology. The folder contains numerous descriptions of UFO flights and reports on some (mostly failed) attempts taken by the military in order to catch the aliens.
Pavel Popovich was given the folder after requesting reports on the cases of UFOs. It was a 124-page compilation of reports about the encounters with UFOs. The reports filed by authorities, military units and eyewitnesses. It took us a long time to get rid of some doubts before making the folder public,” says he. Mr. Popovich saw an UFO only once while flying in a passenger plane from Washington to Moscow.
Anfalov Anton, PhD writes an open letter in Russian to Coordinator “Kosmopoisk”, Chairman of the Union of Russian UFO-BA Shurinovu, To all ufologists:”There is a multi-year cover-up of alien spaceships in the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation (one) and three in the United States of America. ”“Back in the 1990s there was a little known, a military base near the town of Odintsovo in the Moscow region where the military and intelligence agencies have covered-up the investigation of the captured alien spacecraft. Odincovo let slip this data in a telephone conversation with me in the mid-to late 1990s. You and your colleagues have taken virtually no tangible and concrete actions or a detailed study and the final publication of this important data for the whole of Russia and the world ofufology.”

Below the remarkable camera work of crop circle research team MrGyro.
While filming the sunset at 5.30pm on August 2, 2016 over Auckland in New Zealand the videographer noticed a strange black object hovering above a cloud formation. Suddenly the object changed into a bright light and disappeared.
Since the object is filmed from a great distance the videographer wonders whether it is a UFO or a fighter jet firing its thrusters/engines.
On August 5, 2016 at around 21.45 hours Galarza journalist Saul was in the center of Mexico City when he noticed a strange green light in the sky. Saul managed to capture the object.
But at the same night, on August 5, 2016 a similar green object is seen flying through the sky in US. Despite the witness did not mentioned the location, she also managed to capture the green light.
Both witnesses wonder whether the object could have been an atmospheric phenomenon or maybe a UFO?

One of the most intriguing ancient texts, the Tulli Papyrus chronicles one of the earliest mass UFO sightings.
It also has an interesting backstory. In 1933, Alberto Tulli, director of the Egyptology section of the Vatican Museum, discovered a unique papyrus in one of Cairo’s antique shops. Unfortunately, it was priced too high – even for the Vatican – so Tulli resorted to copying down its contents.
When he later returned, the papyrus was gone. Two decades later, Italian Egyptologist Prince Boris de Rachewiltz announced that he had located the original papyrus “untranslated and unpublished.”
The original papyrus has been translated by Boris de Rachewiltz and several others. The content seems to revolve around “circles of fire” that flew through the sky on two separate occasions, separated by a few days.
The so-called “circles of fire” might possibly be explained by natural phenomena; however the interpretation of the text points to “fiery disks” and while incomplete, the ancient papyrus painted a pretty clear picture of mass UFO sightings.

In the year 22 third month of winter, sixth hour of the day the scribas of the House of Life found it was a circle of fire that was coming in the sky (Though) it had no head, the breadth of its mouth (had) a foul odour.
Its body 1 rod long (about 150 feet) and 1 rod large, It had no voice… They hearts become confused through it, then they laid themselves on the bellies
They went to the King ..?) to report it. His Majesty ordered – has been examined – as to all which is written in the papyrus-rolls of the House Of Life His Majesty was meditating upon what happened. Now, after some days had passed over these things, Lo! they were more numerous than anything. They were shining in the sky more than the sun to the limits of the four supports of heaven.
Powerful was the position of the fire circles. The army of the king looked on and His Majesty was in the midst of it. It was after supper. Thereupon, they (i.e. the fire circles) went up higher directed to South. Fishes and volatiles fell down from the sky. (It was) a marvel never occurred since the foundation of this Land! Caused His Majesty to be brought incense to pacify the hearth – to what happened in the book of the House of Life – to be remembered?) for the Eternity.
POSSIBLE ALIEN CRAFT CRASH IN SOUTH AFRICA’S WATERS
FEBURARY 18, 2008 …………. PORT SHEPSTONE SOUTH AFRICA
Port Shepstone rescuers are monitoring a mysterious situation in which “numerous” eye-witnesses reported an unidentified object crashing into the sea on 20 May 2006 around Cape Town, during the afternoon, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) in South Africa had reported.
Eddie Noyons, NSRI Shelley Beach Station Commander, said eye- witnesses reported that an unidentified object had crashed into the sea behind the breaker line off-shore of the Port Shepstone High School. Police, rescue craft and a fixed wing aircraft were alerted to the scene to investigate. “Following a full scale search of the area covering 12 square nautical miles nothing has been found.” “There are no reports of activity in the area that may be related to this incident and there are no aircraft reported to be overdue or missing,” said Noyons.
He said numerous eye witnesses—including teachers and pupils attending a sports event at the high school and other by-standers including local fishermen—were convinced they had seen an craft go into the water, including seeing smoke and water exploding. Interviews with the witnesses revealed that some also reported seeing flames. “Some reported seeing something, an unidentified object, splash into the sea causing a ripple effect of waves,” Noyons said.
Due to the number of eye-witnesses with similar reports, it was presumed that weather activity in the area at the time might have given the impression of something falling into the sea. “We will continue to monitor the situation which remains a mystery,” he had said.
Amazing video footage showing 2 disc-shaped UFO passing over people on the beach during daytime. On 27 June 2004, Roshnie Naidu observed and video-taped a very bright, colourful light that was suspended near her home in Durban for 3 hours. She was able to alert family members and neighbours to its presence, and observed it changing shape from circular to oval.
In 2009 two formations of high-flying, orange-red objects, were seen by many witnesses, and video-recorded by some, as they travelled between the towns of Middelburg and Witbank, 25 kilometres (16 mi) apart. The first formation of 7 objects were seen at 21:51 on 27 February, as they flew westwards from Middelburg towards Witbank. Due to their altitude they eventually disappeared behind clouds. At 20:00 on 6 March, they were noted again high in the sky, but this time greater in number, 23, and traveling in the opposite direction.
On the evenings of 21 and 22 July 2010, residents of Booysens, Pretoria, observed a triangle of bright lights which hung motionless in the sky for two hours. In each instance the object commenced a slow descent towards the horizon at 20:30. Binocular observation revealed nothing more than a blue and emerald light, with a white light which shone straight downwards.
On the evenings of 11, 20 and 21 May 2011, a host of silent, orange lights with consistent luminosity were observed as they travelled faster than a commercial aeroplane over Tierpoort near Pretoria (some 20 objects) and Krugersdorp respectively. On 15 June seven of these objects were observed and some photographed as they crossed the sky in single file over Tierpoort. At 22:00 on 30 October 2011, a Mr van Greuning photographed two of the five silent fireballs which he observed traveling southwards in low cloud near the town of Harrismith.
A reported UFO was spotted in Cape Town on the evening of 28 November 2015. Social media was abuzz with various reports of what seemed to be a green light over the city.
