NEW JERSEY, NJ — There is no lack of strange sightings in New Jersey with 138 extraterrestrial reported in 2020, according to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

The truth may be out there. But don't expect the feds to share what they know anytime soon on the recent spate of UFO sightings.
Some military and spy agencies are blocking or simply ignoring the effort to catalog what they have on "unidentified aerial phenomenon," according to multiple current and former government officials. And as a result, the Biden administration will likely delay a much-anticipated public report to Congress.
The Senate Intelligence Committee has asked the director of national intelligence to work with the Defense Department to provide a public accounting by June 25 on unexplained sightings of advanced aircraft and drones that have been reported by military personnel or captured by radar, satellites and other surveillance systems.
The request came after revelations in 2017 that the Pentagon was researching a series of unexplained intrusions into military airspace, including high-performance vehicles captured on video stalking Navy ships.
But those advising the investigations are advocating for significantly more time and resources to retrieve information from agencies that in some cases have shown reluctance, if not outright resistance, to sharing classified information. And they worry that without high-level involvement, it will be difficult to compel agencies to release what they have.
"Just getting access to the information, because of all the different security bureaucracies, that's an ordeal in itself," said Christopher Mellon, a former Pentagon intelligence official who lobbied for the disclosure provision and is continuing to advise policymakers on the issue.
For example, he asserts that a Pentagon task force established last August and led by the Navy has had few personnel or resources and only modest success acquiring reports, video or other evidence gathered by military systems.
The Pentagon task force is expected to be the primary military organization contributing to the wider government report.
"I know that the task force has been denied access to pertinent information by the Air Force and they have been stiff-armed by them," Mellon said in an interview. "That is disappointing but not unexpected."
The Air Force, which is historically most associated with UFOs from its investigations during the Cold War, deferred all questions on the subject to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, which has similarly said little publicly about the effort.
"To protect our people, maintain operational security and safeguard intelligence methods, we do not publicly discuss the details of the UAP observations, the task force or investigations," said Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough, who declined to address the criticism.
The report due to Congress will include "a detailed analysis of unidentified phenomena data collected by" a host of means, including imaging satellites, eavesdropping equipment and human spies.
It also must include "a detailed analysis of data of the FBI, which was derived from investigations of intrusions of unidentified aerial phenomena data over restricted United States airspace." The report must contain "a detailed description of an interagency process for ensuring timely data collection and centralized analysis of all unidentified aerial phenomena reporting for the federal government, regardless of which service or agency acquired the information."
Gathering such information from across the national security bureaucracy is enormously challenging, Mellon said.
"They have to repeat that painful process with scores of different agencies," he said, citing the Army, CIA, National Reconnaissance Office, National Security Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
A spokesperson for Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines told POLITICO the report to Congress is in the works, but declined to offer further details. “We are aware of the requirement and will respond accordingly.”
Any delay in delivering it is likely to be perceived by a large segment of the public as an attempt by the government to hide what it knows.
But there is growing pressure from Congress for a more organized effort to compile what the government has learned and reveal how it is trying to solve the mysteries.
Sen. Marco Rubio, who was responsible for requesting the report, told Fox News this week that he does not believe military and intelligence agencies have come to any solid conclusions about the origin of the UFOs. But he insisted that the reports demand a more comprehensive intelligence-gathering effort.
"You have all the stigma and the taboo that is associated with it," said Elizondo, who serves as an informal adviser to the military. "Organizations whose mission this might fall squarely into are resisting adopting this mission. There's been so much public taboo about this for decades that no one wants to risk their professional careers and that of their bosses on a topic like this without being directed."
He also sees what he called "passive resistance," or "they're just not going to do anything to support it," such as applying resources or personnel to the activity.
Others see a lack of cooperation among different agencies and a desire to protect sensitive information that could benefit adversaries.
"One of the challenges that [the Defense Department] has had in the past is that a lot of these intelligence-gathering organizations, a lot of the military services' organizations that gather data on intrusions, are all extremely stovepiped and federated," said Ellen Lord, who served as undersecretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment until January and was briefed on the Pentagon efforts.
She also said there may be valid reasons not to make it all public. "I think it is sometimes easy ... to go down a rabbit hole for the sci-fi, alien piece of this," she said in an interview. "In reality, there is a lot of technology that has been leveraged by our adversaries and we have ways to deal with that.
"But that is something that is not typically spoken about in public forums. Therein lies the challenge of some of these things," she added.
The secrecy surrounding the effort has been demonstrated by the Pentagon's refusal to even discuss any details of its UAP task force, not even how many personnel are assigned to it or what budget it has been given.
Elizondo believes there is little chance such obstacles can be overcome by June under the current level of effort and is advocating for an interim report that requests more time and resources. "We can do this right or we can do it right now," he said.
"It's certainly not sufficient time to provide a comprehensive, government-wide report that Congress not only expects, but that Congress deserves and frankly, so does the American people," he added.
Mellon thinks it could take months or longer. "In addition to the onerous job of trying get everyone to come clean," he said, "there will be a sensitive and probably difficult process of getting all the players ... to agree on the language and approve it. That process alone could take weeks or months."
Mellon also said the direct involvement of senior executive branch officials, including Haines and Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks, "is likely to prove necessary to compel the cooperation needed to do the job properly."
The good news," he added, "is the leadership on both sides appear to be taking this issue seriously and are acting in good faith."
The US Navy and the Pentagon were reluctant to admit the pilots from the USS Nimitz encountered Tic Tac candy-shaped UFOs off the coast of San Diego in 2004, but it’s assumed by many that there’s more in the files than was eventually released. That proved to be true this week when The Drive, a military news website with a knack for finding out secrets, revealed that at least one and possibly as many as five other warships encountered mysterious long-flying drones (UAVs or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) off the coast of Los Angeles in 2019 using more sophisticated equipment than was available in 2004. Yet it appears the UAVs were not able to be identified at the time or in subsequent investigations. What in the name of tiny mint pill-shaped candies is going on?
Did the navy ship #USSKidd #DDG100 encounter a UAP in July 2019 in So Cal OPAREA Trying to find out more. The ship logs indicate a “Snoopy Team” was deployed – an intel section that tries to visually ID objects. DM if you know more. Near San Clemente island #TicTac @UfoJoe11
U.S. warships like those in the report
This story begins with a 2020 tweet by Dave Beaty, a documentary filmmaker and “UFO Researcher Producer @ WWII Foundation who produced “The Nimitz Encounters – A Short Documentary Film.” Beaty appeared to be looking for info on an incident he heard about involving the destroyer USS Kidd (DDG-100) – an incident serious enough to deploy an onboard intelligence “SNOOPIE (Ship Nautical Or Otherwise Photographic Interpretation and Exploitation)” team. This alerted The Drive to get involved by making Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. In response, they received deck logs from the USS Kidd which pinpointed its location. That helped identify other ships in the immediate area, including U.S. Navy destroyers USS Rafael Peralta, USS Russell, USS John Finn, and the USS Paul Hamilton. From all of the logs, The Drive pieced together two nights of Tic Tac UAP sightings beginning on July 14, 2020.
The Drive has screen shots of the logs and detailed accounts of the various activities (see them here) which I will attempt to summarize. The USS Kidd reported two UAVs at around 10 pm and deployed the SNOOPIE team to document them. The ship then advised the USS Rafael Peralta, which activated its own SNOOPIE team and reported a “white light identified hovering over” the ship’s flight deck that matched its speed of 16 knots in conditions of low visibility and for around 90 minutes – indicating this was not a commercial drone. The logs of the USS John Finn also showed sightings.
Additional FOIA documents show that on July 15, the USS Russell spotted drones at 8:39 PM, and the USS Kidd saw them shortly thereafter, with both deploying SNOOPIE teams. The USS Rafael Peralta received a radio call from a passing cruise ship, the Carnival Imagination, notifying them that the drones are not theirs, and that they saw as many as five or six maneuvering nearby. The USS Rafael Peralta crew later saw four and then two more drones. The Drive notes that all of these sightings on July 15 were closer to shore than on the previous night and none of the ships appeared to have identified the drones.
Who or what is messing with U.S. warships?
Emails show a Navy and Coast Guard investigation began on July 17, with the FBI also being called in. Various possible sources or owners of the drones were identified, investigated and rejected. Just when the investigation seemed to stop, more sightings occurred – on July 25 and 30th by the USS Kidd. The Drive notes that it has not received other deck logs to determine if any other ships saw these UAVs.
The Drive asks the right questions, and we have a few more. Who is operating drones around U.S. warships? What kind of drones can travel 1000 miles from shore, reach speeds of over 45 mph and hover for 90 minutes? Are these military drones being clandestinely tested by the U.S.? If they’re foreign, why was there no combat? Are they related to the 2004 Tic Tac drones? Are they related to the “long cylindrical object” spotted over New Mexico by American Airlines pilots last month? If they’re aliens … well, good luck getting the Pentagon to reveal any more. One thing is certain – the Navy collected a lot of data that The Drive has only scratched the surface of.
Kudos to The Drive and Dave Beaty for their intrepid work and coverage of this breaking story.
Over the years, UFO witnesses and investigators have claimed that their phones – whether smartphones or landlines – have been secretly monitored by what some might call “Them.” To many people, this might sound like nothing but outright paranoia. The fact is though that “monitoring” of the UFO field has been going on for a very long time. And, today, I’ll share with you some intriguing cases. Let’s begin: While digging through a whole host of formerly classified files on UFOs at the National Archives at Kew, England in 1996, I came across a one-page report dated 28 March 1965 that, I confess, I almost overlooked. On closer inspection, however, I realized that it was potentially one of the most important UFO-related documents that I had ever come across. According to the MoD paperwork, on the night in question a witness saw at approximately 9.30 p.m. over moor-land near Richmond, North Yorkshire, England: “Nine or ten objects – in close triangular formation each about 100ft long – orange illumination below – each triangular in shape with rounded corners, making low humming noise.” They sounded very much like the “Flying Triangles” of today.
The witness, Jeffrey Brown, told me that “For about eighteen months after the sighting, I would get strange telephone calls from people. These would be every two or three months. They just phoned out of the blue but didn’t introduce themselves. They just said they were from some bureau or other. They didn’t mention the name of the bureau but kept mentioning ‘sightings’ and asked whether I had seen anything else strange. Had any men come to interview me?” Mr. Brown was never visited by anyone with regard to his Flying Triangle encounter, nor did the MoD ever offer an explanation as to what it was that he saw on that fateful night in March 1965. He was, however, unnerved by those mysterious telephone calls – primarily because aside from informing the MoD of what had occurred, he made no other report (either official or unofficial) with anyone and kept the details to himself. Brown’s report can still be read at the National Archives.
Claudia Cunningham was christened by long-time UFO researcher and author, Tim Beckley, as the “MIB Lady,” due to her diligent and dedicated research into the phenomenon, as well as being someone who had her very own run in with one of the MIB in 2009, as I detailed in my book The Real Men in Black. In the late 1970s, Claudia experienced something that many researchers and witnesses encounter: strange and unsettling telephone interference. She told me of what happened at the height of one of her UFO investigations, when she had just got a new phone. Claudia got a very intimidating call. In her own words: “A man with a guttural and threatening voice said very emphatically, ‘Claudia? I see you just got home. Do you know know what I’m going to do with you? I’m coming over now’ and hung up. I thought I would absolutely die on the spot. Just think, now: a brand new phone with a brand new number. No-one had it. If a neighbor saw me pull in they wouldn’t have my phone number to call me, so it was no neighbor. I heard a car pull in the driveway as I was planning to run out through the cellar through the cellar door to escape and it was my parents. Thank the Good Lord. I never found out who it was, nor do I want to know. I was involved in my studying UFOs, etc. and I was always very nervous and upset around that time to begin with.”
In 1996, UK UFO researcher Irene Bott and I investigated an alleged UFO crash in the woods of Cannock Chase, England. It was said to have come down back in 1964. After promoting the story in the local newspaper (The Chase Post) an elderly man, Harold South, came forward to share what he said he knew of the affair. In fact, he said he knew a lot. South claimed to have been at the site and said he was warned not to talk about what he’d seen. For years Harold had remained silent. Things changed, though, when me and Irene began investigating his claims. In December 1996, the two of us arranged to visit South in person. We did so on the 11th of the month. We called him – from my landline – in the morning and arranged to drive over to his home. When we got there, we could see South was very disturbed and worried. He claimed that in the time between me calling him and me and Irene arriving at his place, he had received a call from the Ministry of Defense – something that had put Harold into a state of distinct unease. South said that the MoD told him to call another number – as in right away. He did not. Rather, South put the phone down.
I have to say that, at first, me and Irene suspected this was a ruse: South’s way of getting out of being interviewed – after possibly having changed his mind about speaking to us. It turned out that was not the case, though. We asked South if we could use the U.K.’s “1471” system (that permitssomeone to find the number of the most recent incoming call). We dialed. Sure enough, and just as South said, there was a Ministry of Defense number. It turned out not to be from the main MoD building in London, but from the Ministry of Defense Guards Service at a local military base, Whittington Barracks. The person who we spoke to claimed no knowledge of the MoD’s call to South, even though we pointed out that we had specific evidence of the call. The conversation went no further – apart from round in circles. South, by now, was a man on edge: he quickly closed the conversation with us, clearly concerned that he was now in a situation that he had no desire to be in. South stopped the interview and refused to speak to us again. It was just another day in the weird world of UFOs.
Cases like those above absolutely abound. There’s little evidence to suggest it’s all down to fantasy and hoaxing. Indeed, the UFO research community has been watched, listened to, and followed for decades. And, no, it’s not a matter of paranoia. It’s a matter of reality.

What do they know? US federal officials gives 'mysterious' response to 'fleet of UFOs'
A BIZARRE fleet of bright lights moving quickly across a sky has sparked a frenzy about a “fleet of UFOs” - leaving experts baffled and even prompting a response from the US government.
A mysterious video of a “fleet of UFOs” has sparked worldwide alarm, with some calling the strange moving lights an “armada”. The bizarre footage, captured in the skies of Casper, Wyoming in the US, has sparked alarm among local officials and questions for the US government. In the video, a continuous stream of white objects can be seen flying over the town of Casper.

“I think it’s possible it was balloons or possibly drones.
"They weren't orbs they look like crafts, I thought drones maybe.
“But, if they were drones they had a really long range because they flew clear over the horizon out of sight but they were completely silent and they were pretty close.
"I figured if they were drones I would have heard the propellers but I have no idea what it was, it was a trip.”
More than a dozen appear to flash, and the objects seem to be moving in formation in one direction

Officials at the nearby airport denied any knowledge about the strange lights.
Glenn Januska, Director of Casper Natrona County International Airport said that he wouldn’t be able to identify the lights.
He deferred identification to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Allen Kenitzner, spokesperson for the FAA’s Northwest Mountain Region, said that he wasn’t able to offer a positive identification of the phenomenon immediately.
He mysteriously added that there wasn’t anything in the air that the FAA wasn’t able to identify that night.
This has prompted speculation that the US knows what the mysterious lights are.
One viewer of the video suggested it was "the first sign of an alien invasion".
Another wrote that it could be new military technology, adding "that definitely looks like an air assault formation".
The saga of the Flying Saucer began with the pilot Kenneth Arnold, whose 24 June 1947 encounter at the Cascade Mountains, Washington State, kicked off the modern era of UFO sightings. At approximately 3.00 p.m. on the afternoon in question, Arnold was searching for an aircraft that had reportedly crashed on the southwest side of Mt. Rainier. At the time of its occurrence, Arnold’s encounter attracted the keen interest of not just the public and the media, but also that of the all-powerful Federal Bureau of Investigation. The following is a verbatim statement made by Arnold himself and taken from previously Secret FBI records of 1947 that confirm the Bureau’s deep interest in his strange encounter: “I hadn’t flown more than two or three minutes on my course when a bright flash reflected on my airplane. It startled me as I thought I was too close to some other aircraft. I looked every place in the sky and couldn’t find where the reflection had come from until I looked to the left and the north of Mt. Rainier, where I observed a chain of nine peculiar looking aircraft flying from north to south at approximately 9,500 feet elevation and going, seemingly, in a definite direction of about 170 degrees.”
Arnold stressed that the objects were approaching Mt. Rainier very rapidly and he was puzzled by their physical appearance: “I thought it was very peculiar that I couldn’t find their tails but assumed they were some type of jet plane. The more I observed these objects, the more upset I became, as I am accustomed and familiar with most all objects flying whether I am close to the ground or at higher altitudes. The chain of these saucer-like objects [was] at least five miles long. I felt confident after I would land there would be some explanation of what I saw [sic].” No conclusive explanation for Arnold’s sighting ever surfaced, and the mystery regarding what he did or did not see has raged for more than half a century. Even the FBI – that was monitoring UFO activity in the summer of 1947 on a somewhat ad hoc basis – came away impressed by the report: “It is difficult to believe that a man of [Arnold’s] character and apparent integrity would state that he saw objects and write up a report to the extent that he did if he did not see them.”
Kenneth Arnold
As UFO sightings reached epidemic proportions across the USA in the summer of 1947, the military swung into action, and various studies and operations were formulated that ultimately unified into an official, investigative operation known as Project Sign. That project would, in 1948, make way for Project Grudge; and, finally, Project Blue Book, which continued until 1969. Collectively, the three projects concluded that no UFO sighting investigated officially had ever had a bearing on national security, and there was no evidence to indicate that any UFO sightings represented alien visitations. Of course, numerous claims, counter-claims, arguments and counter-arguments have been put forth by a variety of authors and commentators on whether or not some UFOs are indeed alien spacecraft, and whether or not elements of the US Government, military and intelligence community have systematically hidden evidence in support of that theory from the public and the media alike.
Two weeks after the encounter of Kenneth Arnold, Brigadier General George F. Schulgen, Chief of the Requirements Intelligence Branch of Army Air Corps Intelligence, met with Special Agent S.W. Reynolds of the FBI with a view to determining if the Army Air Force could solicit the assistance of the Bureau on a regular basis in its investigation of the UFO mystery. General Schulgen advised SA Reynolds that, “every effort must be undertaken in order to run down and ascertain whether or not the flying discs are a fact and, if so, to learn all about them.” An examination of the relevant files of the FBI demonstrates that, in the weeks following Arnold’s encounter of 24 June 1947, the foremost thought on General Schulgen’s mind was that the saucers were Russian in origin. He confided in Special Agent Reynolds that, “the first reported sightings might have been by individuals of Communist sympathies with the view to causing hysteria and fear of a secret weapon.” It was for this reason that the Army Air Force sought the FBI’s assistance.
General Schulgen guaranteed the FBI “all the facilities of [my] office as to results obtained,” and outlined a plan that would involve the FBI in both locating and questioning witnesses to UFO sightings to ascertain whether they were sincere in their statements that they had seen flying saucers, or whether their statements were prompted by “personal desire for publicity or political reasons.” Similarly, in 1953, the Robertson Panel – a select group of consultants brought together by the CIA to look at the national security implications of the UFO controversy – recommended that a number of the public UFO investigative groups that existed in the United States at the time, such as the Civilian Flying Saucer Investigators (CFSI) and the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO), should be “watched” carefully due to “…the apparent irresponsibility and the possible use of such groups for subversive purposes…”
Indeed, the fear and concern expressed by the military, the CIA, and the FBI in the formative years of official UFO studies that those implicated in the Flying Saucer mystery had “Communist sympathies” or were following a covert, political agenda – the intention of which was “causing hysteria” and subversion – led to intense surveillance of practically anyone and everyone that delved into the subject, and particularly those that criticized the Government’s handling of the situation.

The Best UFO Sightings, Videos & Alien Encounters Of 2021 - Part I
We start 2021 very much in the same way we began 2020 – with an apparent expectation of a huge release of information combined with an admission of prior knowledge about the existence of UFOs and alien life. Essentially, “disclosure”.
Of course, whether that disclosure arrives remains to be seen. However, sightings of strange lights and objects in our planet’s skies have continued over the first four weeks of the new year, suggesting that 2021 will indeed be a busy year for all things UFO-related.

February
February was witness to many varied UFO sightings all around the world. And like previous months and years, the variety of the sightings is matched only by the intrigue they generate. From sightings of strange orbs rising rapidly into the atmosphere, disc-like objects emerging from the clouds to fleets of UFOs hanging over busy cities, February has once again played host to various aerial anomalies in our collective skies.
As always, however, we begin our round-up with a look at some of sightings that occurred last month but have only recently been reported in the last few weeks, the first of which features the previously mentioned UFO fleet.
UFO “Fleet” Captured On Video, Lehigh, Florida, February 2020
Perhaps the eldest sighting only recently reported is MUFON case 113798, which while unfolding on February 2020, has only just entered the public domain. The sighting is particularly interesting in that it appears to show many different lights – described as a “fleet” by some UFO enthusiasts – that are clearly visible in the night sky.
The witness would claim that they had just finished work for the evening when they noticed “all these orbs just stationary in the sky”. What’s more, some of these objects would “disappear and reappear”. Realizing they were witnessing something out of the ordinary, the witness reached for their phone and shot around a minute of footage. They would state, however, that despite the extraordinary nature of the incident, they were “in a hurry to get home” and had to turn their mind to the journey.
Once more, if we take note of the location, is this another sighting that lends credibility to the notion of secret bases somewhere under the water off the American coast? It is certainly a thought-provoking sighting, which you can see below.
Bright Glowing Object Captured On Camera Over Wasilla, Alaska, 10th Jan
Although it wasn’t reported until the third week on February, a sighting that occurred in Wasilla, Alaska appears to show a bright object in the early evening skies. Captured somewhere between 7 pm and 9 pm, the witness would claim that they had seen many UFOs over the area.
This is interesting as Alaska is a relative object for such strange and intriguing sightings. Was this another one that suggests an apparent alien interest in this part of the world?
This particular sighting was of a glowing object – either spherical or disc-shaped – that, from the brightness of it, appears to be very large. As we will examine shortly, in the very same location a little over a month later, another similar sighting occurred.
You can see the picture the witness captured below.
Bright Ascending Object Captured Over Montana 30th Jan
A sighting from Montana on the evening of 30th January was captured on video and appears to show a bright object ascending over the city of Ferndale. The footage was captured at a little after 10 pm and does indeed appear to show large, artificial object heading high up into the atmosphere.
The witness was at a local bar when they captured the footage, near the Swan Mountain range. While some who have viewed the video state that the object could be something due to atmospheric conditions, others believe that it shows a genuine extraterrestrial craft. One thing that all appear to agree on, though, is that it is a very interesting piece of footage.
You can see that video footage below.
Strange Object Witnessed Over Edinburgh, Scotland, 30th Jan
At around 5 pm on the 30th January in Edinburgh in Scotland, a local woman noticed a strange “UFO-like object” hovering almost directly over her home. Thew witnessed managed to obtain several moments of video footage of the object, which according to the Edinburgh Live platform (who received the report) showed a “dark object (that) flies back and forth”.
The witness claimed that she had dismissed the notion that the “object” might have been merely birds due to how it “kept disappearing” and then reappearing. She did say, though, she was not sure what the object was, but that birds, in her opinion, what not have remained in such an aerial position for as long as the sighting went on for, around 10 to 15 minutes.
The witness was also certain that the object disappeared on several occasions, stressing that she meant “proper disappearing”, and that the activity appeared to be taking place close to or over Edinburgh Airport. We should note that many UFO sightings have occurred near airports, many of which have unfolded in recent years. Whatever the object was on this occasion, though, remains a mystery.
Strange Trails Over Denver, Colorado, 31st January
During the morning of 31st January (according to separate MUFON reports – number 113474 and 113475) at just before 11 am, several local residents of Denver, Colorado spotted strange objects that appeared to be falling to the ground leaving trails behind them.
One witness would claim they were simply drinking their usual morning coffee and looking out of his window as normal when they noticed the strange trails. He alerted his friend who was with him and both kept their focus on them for several moments. As they watched, the witness recalled how you could “see that there as a directional change in the upper atmosphere”. Furthermore, after reaching an approximate altitude of around 1,500 feet, the objects themselves appeared to change direction, heading toward nearby Buckley Air Force Base.
The witness would further state that all three of the apparent objects “maintained a perfect formation” and that they made no noise whatsoever. They eventually disappeared into the distance.
A second witness would claim that they too had seen “three large white objects” that moved at a “high rate of speed”. They would also state, like the first witness, that they “maintained their formation” and that they appeared very much like “cloud tear-drops”. They would claim the objects appeared to “fall” before they suddenly changed direction, heading east at a “high rate of speed”. The witness would eventually lose sight of them behind the trees and buildings in the distance.
As we might imagine, there were a whole host of explanations offered for the strange objects, including that they were extraterrestrial crafts.
However, one UFO researcher, Scott Brando, would suggest in the Express newspaper that there was a “terrestrial explanation” for the sighting, elaborating that they were “contrails from three military aircraft”. Furthermore, he would claim another researcher, Mick West of Metabunk, had already identified two of them as “C-17A Globemasters”. We should perhaps note that one of the witnesses claimed the objects intentionally changed direction and headed toward Buckley Air Force Base. Might this suggest that they were indeed military aircraft?
What do you think? Are these merely military aircraft? Or might there be an otherworldly explanation? You can see the footage below and make up your own minds.
Strange, Glowing Object Spotted Over Coventry, England, 1st Feb
Another sighting from the MUFON files (case number 113692) unfolded in the daylight skies of Coventry, England on the 1st February.
According to the witness, they spotted a “helixical shape” while they were pruning trees in their garden. They watched the strange shape for around a minute before reaching for their phone and beginning to film it. Shortly after the did so, “another faster moving shape enters the frame” and was “moving erratically”.
While this second object disappeared, the first continued along a “fairly straight trajectory”. The witness’s wife also saw the bizarre object along with her husband. Although they were uncertain of what the object was, they believed it was “too erratic to be a satellite” and also felt that the International Space Station (which was over the UK at the approximate time of the sighting) would not have been invisible during the day.
You can see video footage of that sighting below.
Orange, Glowing Craft Over Colina, Chile, 3rd Feb
On the evening of 3rd February over the city of Colina in Chile, a strange object was captured on video moving through the skies overhead. The object in question appears orb-like and has a gentle orange glow. The way it moves suggest that it is not a planet and it has no standard lights that suggest it is a terrestrial aircraft.
The footage itself is all we have to go on with this particular sighting as there is little other details in the public domain at this stage. Given that the sighting occurred over such a populated area it would be a little surprising if it wasn’t seen by other local residents.
You can check out that video footage below.
Object Appears Out Of Clouds Over Georgia, 9th Feb
At 10 am on the morning of 9th February over Moultrie in Georgia, a local resident spotted what appeared to be a disc-shaped object in the grey, morning sky. The witness, who was visiting a local Walmart store, noticed a strange shape in the clouds and immediately went to capture the anomaly on camera and snapped off three pictures “back-to-back”.
However, when the witness studied the pictures, they noticed what appeared to be an object shaped decisively like a disc. They attempted to take several more pictures in an attempt to capture the object once more. However, all they showed were the clouds suggesting that the object, whatever it was, had gone.
The witness would conclude that the object must have been “moving extremely fast” and appeared to have “come straight out of the clouds”.
Did the witness capture a UFO on film by taking a picture by pure chance at the exact moment it was leaving the cloud cover and heading off into the distance and presumably very high speed? If so, we can assume that the object made no noise whatsoever as they were not aware of its presence in real time. How many other objects might be zipping around our skies without anyone noticing them?
You can check out some of those pictures below.
Several Strange Lights Over Los Angeles, California, 10th Feb
During the evening of the 10th February over the skies of Los Angeles in California, a local resident – Bobby Cail, managed to capture footage of several strange lights seemingly hovering over the city.
The witness claimed he watched the brightly glowing lights for several moments before reaching for his phone in order to record them. However, within seconds of the recording beginning, the lights begin to fade away and disappear, almost as if they are aware of being captured on film. While this could merely be coincidence, and most likely is, it is still an intriguing detail that we shouldn’t ignore.
Whatever the objects were, they are just one of many UFO reports that come out of California. And as we shall see in a moment, around 48 hours later, a similar sighting would unfold in nearby Arizona. Before we move on to that, though, you can see that footage below.
Multiple Orb-Like UFOs Over Tempe, Arizona, 12th Feb
Only two nights later, and from another case from the MUFON files is case number 113700, a similar sighting unfolded when several strange orb-like lights appear in the early evening sky over Tempe, Arizona on 12th February.
The witness would claim that they were speaking with their wife and looking out of their kitchen window when he suddenly noticed “a group of strange lights” in the sky. He alerted his wife before reaching for his phone in order capture several moments of the bizarre scene. He would later that the strange objects moved for so long before becoming stationary, “pulsated and then vanished into the clear night sky”.
At one point during the sighting, an airplane traveled in the same direction of the objects, with them seeming “unaffected by this”. In fact, once the plane had disappeared out of sight, “more (objects” returned to the sky”. The witness would further describe the objects as being a “reddish orange color” although the color didn’t appear on the video footage.
You can see video footage of that sighting below.
UFOs Captured During Interview On RT News, 13th Feb
During a live television interview on RT (Russia Today) News, two distinctly disc-shaped objected seemingly appeared behind one of the interviewers. The objects appeared to move at a high rate of speed and appeared to move in a strict formation.
There is little further information as to what the objects might have been, as well as if there as an official reaction to the sighting. The brief seconds of footage, though, are extremely interesting.
We should note that this is not the first time where UFOs have been captured on screen during live television broadcasts. As we have examined before, these strange objects have shown up on news interviews, weather reports, and even live sports broadcasts. Once more, we might ask, given that we are not actively recorded all parts of the sky all the time, how active with UFOs they just might be.
You can see that news clipping below. The UFO enters the screen from the left.
Meteor Or UFO Over Melbourne, Australia, 14th Feb?
On the evening of 14th February in Melbourne, Australia, a local resident filmed what they believe to be a meteor falling from the sky. However, according to UFO researcher and author, Scott Waring, the footage might actually be that of a UFO descending in a controlled fashion.
Waring would state on his website that if the object was a meteor, it would likely be “moving twice as fast”. Furthermore, there appears to be “no tail” that is visible. Waring also notes, that after the flash that most would suspect to be an explosion, it is clear the object itself was “still intact” before “going dark”.
Was this a UFO that was entering the Earth’s atmosphere? And was the flash the start of some highly advanced propulsion technology? According to many who have viewed the footage, it is, in fact, a meteor, but the debate, it would seem, is still to be had.
You can see the original footage below and make up your own mind.
Strange Glowing Orb Witnessed Over Spain, 15th Feb
Although the footage is only 20 seconds long, a sighting of a strange orb filmed over Badajoz in Spain is very worthy of our time here. The object in question appears to move slow and purposely over the region before disappearing into the distance.
The aerial anomaly also appears to have a persistent glow and a definite solid, disc shape to it. Briefly, it even appears to be rotating around its own axis (something which many UFO reports state and that has been captured on other videos before).
You can see that footage below.
Strange Object Over Cape Town, South Africa, 16th Feb
On the 16th February, local residents of Cape Town in South Africa, witnessed a bizarre green glow in the sky overhead. One resident even managed to capture footage of the strange sighting from the balcony of an apartment at the The Sentinal Luxury Apartment Building, before uploading the video to YouTube under the header “Cape Town UFO Sighting”.
While there is debate as to what the strange green glow might have been, it isn’t the first time in recent weeks that residents of Cape Town have witnessed strange aerial anomalies in their skies. At the start of the month on the 5th February, multiple residents witnessed and reported a “string of lights” moving across the sky at great speed. They then disappeared into the distance. South Africa, like many countries around the world, also has a long history of UFO sightings and activity.
You can view the footage captured on 16th February below.
Lights With “No Sequence Or Rhythm” Gulf Breeze Sighting, 17th Feb
A particularly interesting UFO sighting unfolded at around 10 pm on the 17th February in the Gulf Breeze region of Florida.
The witness would claim they were outside their home using their phone when they “saw a bunch of lights that were blinking”. What’s more, the witness is relatively familiar with both commercial and military planes that fly over the house. These lights, however, the witness recalled as moving “randomly” and with “no sequence or rhythm”.
The sighting lasted for around 10 minutes in total, although the witness only managed to capture around 60 seconds worth of (undoubtedly valuable) footage.
As the witness also correctly points out, the entire Gulf Breeze area has regular UFO sightings, and has done for decades. Might it be that there are some truths in the conspiracies of secret bases, possibly extraterrestrial ones, residing of the coast of Florida, as well as other coastlines of the United States?
You can see the video captured by the witness below.
Another Glowing Orb Witnessed Over Wasilla, Alaska 17th Feb
We began our look at UFO sightings for the month of February by examining an incident that took place at the start of January but was only recently reported. On the 17th February in the same city of Wasilla in Alaska, a similar sighting of a glowing orb hovering high overhead.
The incident occurred at approximately the same time – somewhere between 7 pm and 9 pm – and was captured on camera by the witness. It would appear that the picture wasn’t showing the setting sun as this had occurred earlier. What’s more, due to the cloudy skies, it is likely not a planet either.
Is this more evidence that there is a persistent UFO presence over Alaska? You can see that picture below.
Two Strange Objects Overtaking A Plane Over Rioverde, Mexico, 19th Feb
On the evening of 19th February a local resident, Alejandro Garcia, captured around 30 seconds of footage of two UFOs over the city of Rioverde in Mexico. The footage shows the two objects moving past a plane suggesting they are traversing the skies at a considerable pace. Furthermore, the objects appear to be traveling purposely one over the other.
What isn’t clear is whether the footage shows two objects throughout or whether it shows one object becoming two.
As we have mentioned previously, Mexico is one of the places you might be most likely to see a UFO, with many sightings reported there each year. This incident only adds to its reputation as a UFO hot spot.
The footage in question can be seen below.
Silent Orbs Making Their Way Over Metairie Louisiana, 21st Feb
According to MUFON case 113579 – as highlighted by Scott Waring – a local witness managed to capture footage of several glowing orbs going over the Metairie region of Louisiana. And what’s more, we are not talking just a few – the witness would claim there was likely more than 30 of the strange glowing spherical objects.
Also of intrigue is the fact that some of these glowing orbs appear to change speed (which can be seen in the footage). Does this suggest an intelligence behind them?
The witness stated in their report that the light had “no sound” and were moving in an east to west direction. They glowed with a “reddish pink hue” and were not flashing at all but were consistent.
You can see that footage below.
The American Airlines Flight 2292 Incident, New Mexico 21st Feb
While flying over north east New Mexico, the pilots of American Airlines Flight 2292 witnessed an “unidentified cylindrical-shaped object” speeding through the sky at an altitude of around 36,000 feet. What’s more, the incident has not only been officially confirmed by American Airlines, but the FBI is also said to be investigating the sighting.
Upon seeing the bizarre object, the pilots asked ground control if there were “any targets” in the sky with them as they had “just had something go right over the top of us”.
Interestingly, the sighting occurred in almost the same location as a sighting that occurred in 2018 when two aircraft had such close encounters at almost the same altitude of 37,000 feet. What’s more, one of the pilots involved in that incident would speak to the media, with the descriptions he gave being very similar to those of the recent sighting.
While there is some debate whether such sightings in this region of the United States might be connected to the White Sands Missile Range, many others believe the incident to be yet another encounter with extraterrestrial intelligence.
You can listen to the incident in the video below.
Strange Object Appears Out Of The Clouds Over Cairns, Australia, 22nd Feb
Another MUFON case (113765), on the evening of 22nd February in Cairns, Australia, two local residents witnessed and filmed strange flying object that seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
The witness would state in his brief report of the sighting that they at first believed the object was a “hole in the clouds” until they realized that the clouds themselves were moving behind the object. Then, after several moments, the object “pulsated (and) then disappeared”.
Veteran UFO researcher, Scott C. Waring, would state that this action was “clearly noticing the two men watching it and recording it”. Whatever the object was, if indeed it was a solid object, remains unknown and there if little other details at this point regarding the sighting.

The Best UFO Sightings, Videos & Alien Encounters Of 2021 - Part II
We start 2021 very much in the same way we began 2020 – with an apparent expectation of a huge release of information combined with an admission of prior knowledge about the existence of UFOs and alien life. Essentially, “disclosure”.
Of course, whether that disclosure arrives remains to be seen. However, sightings of strange lights and objects in our planet’s skies have continued over the first four weeks of the new year, suggesting that 2021 will indeed be a busy year for all things UFO-related.

µJanuary
We will update this article each month with the latest UFO sightings from the previous four weeks as we go through 2021. As usual, though, we start with several recently reported sightings that occurred back in December.
Two Strange Objects Photographed Over Florida, 2nd Dec
Although it wasn’t reported until the middle of January, a strange object was photographed in the skies over Seffner in Florida on the morning of 2nd December. The witness was driving at a little after 10 am she they noticed a strange formation in the cloudy skies above.
They brought their vehicle to a stop and reached for their phone in order to take a picture of the apparent anomaly. When the pictures were viewed a short time later, two strange objects appeared to be in the shot. The witness claimed that they hadn’t noticed them when actually taking the pictures.
It is highly like that the “objects” in question were actually simply lens flares. There is, though, perhaps some doubt, and the picture is certainly intriguing. You can view that picture below.
String Of Red Lights Over Idaho Falls, 5th Dec
Although there is little information at this time, another December sighting not reported until January unfolded over Idaho Falls in Idaho on the evening of 5th December.
At just before 6:45 pm a local resident noticed “two sets of three lights in a slight curved line”. It appeared that each set of three were in motion in their own right as they “blinked separately”. The lights were moving, however, in the same direction, occasionally flashing a white light as they moved.
You can see a picture of the lights that the witness managed to capture and make up your own mind.
Bright, Circular Object Hovers Over Dorchester, Massachusetts 26th Dec
Our last late-reported sighting of December that we will examine took place in Dorchester, Massachusetts on the 26th of December.
At a little after 6 pm, the local resident happened to notice a “white circular object hovering and flashing” while looking out of their window. They watched it move in several directions before seemingly heading toward them. It was at this point when they reached for their phone and began recording the unusual aerial activity.
When they zoomed in with their camera, they noticed how the object was “moving in uncharted flight paths, as if it was trying to get a better look at something”. Once more, then, although it is only a suggestion, there is the notion of some kind of reconnaissance to this UFO sighting.
Furthermore, the witness would claim that the object remained in the sky almost the entire evening. Even more intriguing, the witness claimed that the four objects returned into the same position in the sky and once more acted as though they were scanning the ground below.
The online website where this report was submitted noted that there were no bright planets visible in the area where the incident occurred.
You can view that video below.
Blue UFO Over Hawaii, 29th December
At the end of 2020 on the 29th December, a local resident of the Hawaiian island of Oahu spotted and reported a glowing, blue UFO overhead. The shape of the object appeared to oblong and was “larger than a telegraph pole”.
The sighting was captured on film and was appeared to travel across the sky before eventually entering the waters of the Pacific Ocean. This is, once again, an intriguing detail given the number of researchers who suggest that underwater alien bases exist in several places around the world.
There are, however, plenty of theories and suggestions as to what else the object might have been. Perhaps one of the most recurring was that it could be an “LED kite”. As we might imagine, the debate continues as to how otherworldly or terrestrial the blue object might actually be. It is, however, one of the most intriguing to recently come to light.
The sighting was officially reported to the Federal Aviation Administration. Their initial investigation has not revealed any “aircraft disappearing off radars” and have had “no reports of overdue or missing aircraft”.
You can see footage and a news report of that sighting below.
Demi Lovato Claims Another UFO Sighting, Mid-January
Before we move on to other sightings throughout January, we should perhaps turn our attention to another celebrity claiming an apparent extraterrestrial encounter. And while we might be suspicious that such celebrity claims are nothing more than an exercise in staying in the public eye, they still very much require documenting and examining.
The claim came to light in the middle of January when the singer stated on social media that she had managed to film a UFO “in broad daylight”. The circular object may or may not be a UFO – and certainly got a reaction from her followers, with some stating they were merely balloons.
Incidentally, Lovato has made several claims of seeing UFOs in the past. In October 2020 she released similar footage of an apparent UFO, even claiming she had been in the company of Dr. Steven Greer when the video was captured. From her social media posts and recent interviews, it would appear Lovato is very much a believer in at least the possibility of alien life visiting our planet.
Cube-Like Object Filmed Over Palm Beach, Florida, 3rd Jan
Early in the evening on the 3rd of January in Palm Beach, Florida at around 6 pm, a local resident was leaving a department store with their 10-year-old son when they noticed a “dark, cubed-shaped object” overhead. which was “moving slowly” through the cloudy sky.
The witness immediately reached for their phone, realizing they were witnessing something out of the ordinary, and began to film the aerial anomaly from the street below. They continued to view the object for some time. And while it appeared to be descending, they would eventually lose sight of it as it disappeared “behind the store” which blocked their view. The witness would estimate that it was around 500 feet away from where they stood. Although they would quickly get in their car and attempt to locate it once more, they could not find the object after that.
They would further recall how there was a “dim light” on one side of the object and that it appeared to be completely silent. What’s more, it appeared as though there was “some rotation motion” to the apparent craft.
You can view that footage below.
UFO Captured In Time Lapse Photos, Hatteras Island UFO, 7th Jan
At 10:20 pm on the evening of 7th January, at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, a photographer, Wes Snyder, was shooting time-lapse photos for a project that was upcoming. However, during this photo mission, he managed to capture just under three minutes’ worth of footage of a strange object.
Snyder realized he had captured something quite extraordinary when he reviewed the footage. He could immediately see that the object was moving “faster than the clouds” and was much too big to be a plane. Snyder himself is unsure of exactly what the object might have been and asked for viewers’ thoughts when he posted it online. He did, however, dismiss that it might be a meteorite or a shooting star due to how long it remained in shot.
It is a possibility that the UFO disappeared into the ocean as opposed to into the distance (although there is no footage of this). We mention regularly that many UFO sightings occur near water, with one of the main theories as to why this might be being the presence of underwater alien bases off the coast of the United States.
It is certainly an intriguing piece of footage. You can view Snyder’s video below.
Ring Of Light Captured Over Fargo, North Dakota, 9th Jan
After finishing work at a little after 7 am, a local resident of Fargo, North Dakota, witnessed a strange, glowing ring of lights in the still dark sky as they drove home. Although there was a fog in the sky, the lights were clearly visible.
The witness, who sat waiting at the traffic lights, reached for his film and managed to capture several seconds of them. They would note that the lights appeared to be completely stationary and didn’t move at all during the incident. It appears, when the footage is viewed, that the lights are the underside of a solid object, most likely a circular, disc-shaped one.
One intriguing theory was put forward by veteran UFO researcher and writer, Scott C. Waring. He would state that it was possible the UFO had just landed and the “aliens disembarked to study” the area. If that was the case, then the witness might have been nearer to a much closer encounter than they previously thought.
The witness eventually drove away from the scene. You can see the video in question below.
Glowing Rectangular UFO Over Hollywood, Florida, 12th Jan
Just before midnight on the evening of 12th January in Hollywood, Florida, a rectangular UFO was captured for several minutes on video. The person who captured the footage first noticed the three rows of lights of yellow, red, and white, seemingly hovering overhead in a stationary position.
They managed to use their phone to capture the footage. The object remained visible for some time before disappearing behind buildings and then reappearing again. The lights eventually faded and the object disappeared from view. Whether it moved away into the distance or whether it simply turned off its lights is unclear.
You can view footage of the sighting in the video below.
Objects “Appear Out Of Nowhere” Alejandria, Mexico, 13th Jan
At just after 7 am on the morning of 13th January in Alejandria in Mexico, several UFOs were witnessed and filmed in the skies overhead.
The witnesses to the incident would claim that these strange objects “appeared out of nowhere” and at first were just three lights. However, as they came closer, they very much appeared to have a solidness to them. They would elaborate on how their “glow is fascinating”. The witnesses were in the highlands of the area when they filmed the strange crafts.
The sighting is interesting not only because it appears authentic, but Mexico is home to many UFO sightings month after month. Some researchers even suggest that the several mountains and volcanoes in the area are home to extraterrestrial bases which results in the increased sightings in this part of the world.
You can see that video below and make up your own mind.
UFO Captured Going In And Out Of Clouds Over Picos, Brazil, 15th Jan
On the morning of 15th January over Picos, Brazil, a strange object was filmed leaving the clouds before disappearing back into them. Local resident, Luan Silva had noticed the strange object emerging from cloud and disappearing back into them several times before finally reaching for his phone, managing to film this action.
There is little information or explanation as to what was taking place, but the footage is seemingly credible. If we assume this object was a solid, intelligently guided craft, what might the purpose be for such a display? For example, if this was some kind of reconnaissance mission why would it allow itself to be seen several times? Or might this have been an intentional action to make its presence known, and if so, why?
You can see that short video below.
Pilots Witness UFO Over Pakistan, 23rd Jan
Another sighting involving commercial pilots occurred on the 23rd of January over Pakistan when several pilots with Pakistan International Airlines witnessed something strange in the skies with them. And what’s more, one of the crew managed to capture footage of the obscure object.
The plane was making its way from Karachi to Lahore at around 4 pm when the pilot spotted something out of the ordinary approximately 1000 feet above their own altitude. The captain, Faisal Qureshi, immediately contacted the control tower and reported the strange object. Shortly after, he captured the video footage.
The crew would describe the strange object as being “extremely bright” and appeared to have a metal ring around it. In the video, the pilot is also clearly heard saying “it’s not a balloon, it’s not an aircraft”. We should note that many who have viewed the footage believe there is a distinct possibility that it could indeed be a balloon.
Perhaps an indication of the authenticity of the sighting is the fact the airline themselves issued an official statement regarding it. In it, they stated that it was “too early to say what the object was” and that they might not ever “be able to tell”. However, as it was reported as per protocol, they would investigate.
Just what the object might have been remains open to debate. You can watch a short video on the sighting below.
Strange Object With Rotating Lights Over Great Falls, Montana, 27th Jan
While the following sighting doesn’t have any photographs or video footage to back it up, it is perhaps one of the most detailed incidents of the opening month of 2021. The incident in question took place in Great Falls, Montana at a little after 6 am.
The witness stated how they were laid in bed looking out of the bedroom window having been awake for several hours already. As they did so, they noticed what they at first thought was a plane in the distance. However, when they noticed it was heading toward them, they began to watch the object more closely. It was quickly growing larger in size suggesting it was approaching the house with some speed.
Now beginning to fear the object was about to crash into their home, the witness jumped out of bed, continuing to watch the aerial anomaly as they did. Suddenly, though, the object stopped and hovered. The witness would estimate it was no more than 50 feet from the window he was watching it from.
The witness doesn’t state what actual shape the strange vehicle was, they did state that they briefly contemplated that it was a helicopter which perhaps suggests an oval or cigar shape. They did, though, reveal that in the underside were red and white light that appeared to be rotating randomly. They also recalled that it was completely silent. As he struggled to open the blinds so that he could see the craft more clearly, it suddenly disappeared, again without making a sound.
The witness would make it clear that they were not dreaming nor in a state of sleep paralysis, and that what they had seen was definitely real.
Glowing Spherical Object Moving Slowly Over Touchet, Washington, 27th Jan
A recent MUFON report (MUFON 113398), a local resident managed to capture around 30 seconds of footage of a glowing spherical object moving across the sky. The witness was in their back garden when they first noticed the strange object. They would note how slow and controlled the movement across the sky was, and how it appeared to pulsate somewhat as it moved.
As UFO researcher, Scott Waring asks, might this slow movement over the area be due to a surveillance mission? Or might it even be to monitor how humans react to seeing such alien craft? The debate, on the previous questions and this particular sighting continues.
You can see the video in question below.
Glowing Object Photographed Over St. Peters, Missouri, 28th Jan
According to another recent MUFON case (MUFON 113445) on the 28th of January in St. Peters, Missouri, a passenger in a car noticed a “very bright stationary light in the sky”. They would estimate that the object was around a mile or so away from the moving vehicle and was in view for around 30 seconds. However, during that time, the witness managed to capture several photographs.
What is interesting is that the photographs do appear to show a solid object that is reflecting the sun from a seemingly shiny exterior. And what’s more, very similar photographs have been captured going back many years. Of course, whether the incident was a case of an intelligently guided craft or not remains open to debate. It is perhaps interesting that the object – if we assume for a moment that it is indeed a solid craft – was witnessed over powerlines. Some UFO researchers claim this could be a way of them extracting power from them, or even using them to spy on our own communications.
Incidentally, this sighting is very similar to the sighting over Washington State the day before that we examine above. Might it be the same object?
Blue UFO Over Charlotte, North Carolina, 29th July
On the evening of 29th January over the city of Charlotte in North Carolina, local resident Alisa Homewood witnessed several strange lights overhead. She would recall how she was leaving a grocery store with several members of her family when she “happened to notice the lights”.
She continued to watch them as they approached. When she realized that they were making no sound whatsoever, she decided to take out her phone and photograph them. She would later post the pictures on Facebook stating that although they “flickered like lanterns” they were seemingly unaffected by the wind and instead “followed the same exact path”.
She would conclude that although it was unlikely that “they were aliens” there was nothing to suggest they were “definitely lanterns”.
Interestingly, only hours earlier on the morning of the sighting, Alisa witnessed “approximately six military helicopters fly over the area”. Whether there is a connection between the military helicopters and the later sighting of the apparent blue UFO is perhaps open to debate.
You can see one of those photographs below.
Bright Object Rising Into The Air, San Diego, 28th Jan
At a little after 7 pm on the 28th January in San Diego, California a strange ascending object was captured on a security video. It wasn’t until the following day that the owner of the property realized he had captured something a little out of the ordinary.
This is another sighting that doesn’t at this stage have a lot of information, and there is still speculation as to whether the light belongs to a terrestrial aircraft. However, it is certainly worth including here for your examination.
You can view that footage below.

Most UFO hunters report seeing brightly coloured sphere shaped orbs floating around the darkness off space, but a recent sighting may change the way we perceive alien crafts.
A 'cylinder', semi-transparent shaped UFO was spotted in the live web feed from Nasa earlier this month, traveling alongside of the International Space Station (ISS).
The clip shows the anomaly trailing 'at the same speed of the massive US spacecraft and a Martian researcher says it is similar to 'the cylinder UFO and orbs seen on worldwide CNN back in 2006'.

Scott C. Waring, founder of UFO Sighting Daily, was spending a quite night at home watching the live internet cam of the ISS when he saw something strange floating beside it.
'As I was watching, I noticed a long cylinder object floating alongside and below the space station,' Waring shared in his blog today.
The video post is just 1 minute and 22 seconds long and shows the outside of the station, but if you just a little to the right there seems to be an object traveling the same speed.

'ALIENS STOPPED NUCLEAR WAR ON EARTH' SAYS FORMER ASTRONAUT
Aliens came to Earth to stop a nuclear war between America and Russia, according the bizarre claim of a former astronaut.
Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, says high-ranking military officials witnessed alien ships during weapons tests throughout the 1940s.
The UFOs, he says, were spotted hovering over the world's first nuclear weapons test which took place on July 16, 1945 in the desolate White Sands deserts of New Mexico.
The Nasa veteran has regularly spoken about his belief in aliens ever since he landed on the surface of the moon during the Apollo 14 mission in 1971.
'White Sands was a testing ground for atomic weapons - and that's what the extra-terrestrials were interested in,' the 84-year-old Texan told Mirror Online.
'They wanted to know about our military capabilities.
'My own experience talking to people has made it clear the ETs had been attempting to keep us from going to war and help create peace on Earth.'
Dr Mitchell says stories from people who manned missile bases during the 20th Century back up his claims.
'Other officers from bases on the Pacific coast told me their [test] missiles were frequently shot down by alien spacecraft,' he said.
He previously said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head.
He claimed our technology is 'not nearly as sophisticated' as theirs and 'had they been hostile', he warned 'we would be been gone by now'.
But Waring insists the object was a 'cylinder' shaped UFO.
Earlier this year more bizarre footage was released from Russia showing another object trailing the ISS.
The clip was reported to show a spacecraft or piece of debris following the station as it orbited Earth in January.

The footage - claimed to have been shot on the ISS's own cameras - was said to have been taken while the satellite was waiting for a supplies delivery.
This footage sent conspiracy theorist into a frenzy, as many believed it to be a UFO – but others were skeptical about the authenticity of the film and the explanations of the object.

US has 'secret evidence of UFOs breaking sound barrier without a sonic boom and performing moves humans don't have the technology for', says Trump's Director of National Intelligence
In December a 180-day deadline was announced for a report into UFO sightings
The Pentagon and intelligence agencies must release their report by June 1
John Ratcliffe, former DNI, said there were more sightings than publicly known
Ratcliffe said the observations were made by Navy and Air Force pilots
They were recorded by 'multiple sensors' and had no obvious explanation
The incidents included supersonic travel without a sonic boom
Ratcliffe said it was in the public interest that the information be released
The U.S. has evidence of UFOs breaking the sound barrier without a sonic boom and making maneuvers impossible with known technology, the former Director of National Intelligence has revealed.
The revelations increased excitement about a forthcoming report detailing what the U.S. government has observed.
John Ratcliffe, who served as Donald Trump's Director of National Intelligence, said that many of the incidents still have no easy explanation.
'There are a lot more sightings than have been made public,' Ratcliffe told Fox News.
'Some of those have been declassified.
'And when we talk about sightings, we are talking about objects that have seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain.
'Movements that are hard to replicate that we don't have the technology for. Or traveling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.'
John Ratcliffe appeared on Fox News on Friday to discuss the forthcoming report
Ratcliiffe said that there had been more UFO sightings than the public previously knew
Navy pilots recorded seeing unexplained objects spinning in mid air, in the summer of 2014
Ratcliffe told host Maria Bartiromo that the sightings of 'unidentified aerial phenomena' had been observed all around the world.
'When we talk about sightings, the other thing I will tell you is, it's not just a pilot or just a satellite, or some intelligence collection,' Ratcliffe said.
'Usually we have multiple sensors that are picking up these things, and some of these are unexplained phenomenon, and there is actually quite a few more than have been made public.'
The government was, in December, given a 180-day deadline to disclose what it knew, meaning that the report should be out before June 1.
Ratcliffe said he had hoped to publish their findings before he left office on January 20.
'We weren't able to get it down into an unclassified format quickly enough,' he said.
The report was part of a $2.3 trillion COVID relief bill, which Trump signed into law in December.
The bill contained the Senate Intelligence Committee's Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 that had in it a 'committee comment' section that addressed 'unidentified aerial phenomena.'
The report, produced by the Pentagon and the intelligence agencies, must identify, among other things, any threats posed by unidentified aerial phenomena and whether they may be attributed to foreign adversaries.
'Weather can cause disturbances, visual disturbances,' Ratcliffe said.
'Sometimes we wonder whether or not our adversaries have technologies that are a little bit further down the road than we thought or than we realized.
'But there are instances where we don't have good explanations for some of the things that we have seen.'
Avril Haines is now the Director of National Intelligence in the Biden administration.
The Defense Department announced in September the creation of an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force on August 4.
Videos from the Navy were released last year through the Freedom of Information Act that showed UFOs moving at incredible speeds and performing seemingly impossible aerial maneuvers.
One of the videos was shot in November 2004; the other two were shot in January 2015. The three videos were code-named 'FLIR1,' 'Gimbal,' and 'GoFast.'
In the 2015 videos, Navy pilots can be heard expressing disbelief. All three UFO videos were captured by Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets.
The videos were made public and published because of efforts by the New York Times, as well as through efforts by To The Stars Academy, which was founded by Tom Delonge, the founder and lead vocalist for the bands Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves.
Ratcliffe said it would be 'healthy' for as much of this information as possible to be made public.
A week before Ratcliffe stepped down, in January, the CIA released a treasure trove of newly-unsealed records.
They showed chilling accounts of hundreds of UFO sightings across the globe dating back to the 1950s - along with the international intelligence community's efforts to understand them.
A dossier with nearly 3,000 pages of documents about Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) - the government's official term for what are commonly called UFOs - was published on The Black Vault website.
Thousands of paranormal enthusiasts pored through the collection of more than 700 individual documents, according to Black Vault's founder John Greenewald Jr, who has spent the past two decades suing the CIA to release the records and then scanning the pages into his database one by one.
The CIA purports that the files account for its 'entire' collection of declassified UAP intel, but Greenewald cautions that there's no way to verify that claim and has vowed to continue searching for further records.
The documents also show correspondence about UFO sightings between CIA officers and members of the military.
Sometimes the officials brush off observers' stories as purely superstitious, even when another explanation isn't clear. But in other instances the officers show genuine concern that perhaps something dangerous is at play.

In December it emerged that two Pentagon reports had been produced, providing detailed classified information about strange sightings.
The DoD's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force issued the two classified intelligence 'position reports' in 2018 and summer 2020, and they circulated widely in the U.S. intelligence community, according to a detailed account from The Debrief based on interviews with multiple intelligence sources.
The position reports' startling contents included a leaked photo that has never before been made public, accounts of 'Unidentified Aerial Phenomena' (UAP) emerging from the ocean and soaring through the sky, and an admission that extraterrestrial origins for the objects cannot be ruled out.
This leaked photo, published by The Debrief in December, was included in the 2018 position report, two DoD and one intelligence source told the outlet
The photo was previously described as depicting an 'unidentified silver 'cube-shaped' object' hovering over the ocean at an altitude of roughly 30,000 to 35,000
The leaked photo was was captured in 2018 off the East Coast of the United States by a military pilot using his cell phone camera, the sources said.
The photo was previously described as depicting an 'unidentified silver 'cube-shaped' object' hovering over the ocean at an altitude of roughly 30,000 to 35,000.
It appears that the image was captured by the backseat weapons systems operator of what appears to be an F/A-18 fighter jet.
Experts were baffled by the photo, but noted that the object somewhat resembles a GPS dropsonde, an atmospheric profiling device designed to be dropped from aircraft, typically over a hurricane.
'These revelations are extraordinary, and give the public a genuine peek behind the curtain when it comes to how the US government is handling the UFO issue,' Nick Pope, who investigated UFOs for the UK Ministry of Defence, told DailyMail.com.
'What this new information does is confirm that the US government is taking the UFO phenomenon more seriously than ever before,' he added. 'I anticipate further revelations shortly.'
The Pentagon has not confirmed the existence of the two position reports, as well as the authenticity of a leaked cockpit photo included in one of the reports.
Even more shocking were the revelations contained in a second, revised report issued by the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force in early 2020.
The report delved deeply into the possibility that UAP are able to freely move both through the air and underwater, zipping through the ocean undetected and emerging into the air at incredible speeds.
The report contained an 'extremely clear' photograph of an unidentifiable triangular aircraft that emerged from the ocean in front of a F/A-18 Hornet fighter pilot, sources told The Debrief.
An artist's recreation (above) shows the image in the 2020 report as described by sources: a large equilateral triangle with rounded edges and large, spherical white 'lights' in each corner
Researcher Dave Beaty created this image to depict the object as described by sources who had seen the report from the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force
That photo has not been leaked publicly, but artist and researcher Dave Beaty's recreation shows it as described by sources: a large equilateral triangle with rounded or 'blunted' edges and large, perfectly spherical white 'lights' in each corner.
The encounter occurred off the East Coast in 2019, according to officials who had seen the latest report.
Two officials said said the photo was taken after the triangular craft emerged from the ocean and shot straight upwards.
Officials say the latest report focused specifically on the possibility of 'transmedium' craft that are able to operate both underwater and in the air.
'Tic Tac' UFO: US Navy pilot made visual contact with the object on November 14, 2004
At least six Super Hornet pilots made visual or instrument contact with the UFO on November 14, 2004.
The encounters, which are documented in numerous interviews with first-hand witnesses, remain a mystery, and the object's incredible speed and movements have led to speculation that it was extraterrestrial in origin.
The original FLIR video from the USS Nimitz encounters leaked online as early as 2007.
Witnesses say that clips of the video had been circulated widely on the Navy's intranet - used to communicate between ships in the carrier group - and an unknown sailor in the group likely first leaked it.
The clip became one of the most-touted pieces of evidence in the UFO community when the Pentagon confirmed its authenticity in 2017.
In January, Chad Underwood, the former Navy aviator who shot the famous leaked video clip, broke his silence in an interview with New York Magazine.
Chad Underwood, the former Navy aviator who shot the famous leaked video clip, broke his silence in an interview with New York Magazine in January
He said the oblong, wingless 'Tic Tac' shaped object was spotted off the coast of Mexico over the Pacific.
He also revealed that for about two weeks, the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Princeton, part of Carrier Strike Group 11, had been tracking mysterious aircraft intermittently on an advanced AN/SPY-1B passive radar.
The radar contacts were so inexplicable that the system was even shut down and restarted to to check for bugs - but operators continued to track the unknown aircraft.
Then on November 14, Commander David Fravor says he was flying in an F/A-18F Super Hornet when he made visual contact with the object, which seemed to dive below the water, resurface, and speed out of sight when he tried to approach it.
As Fravor landed on the deck of the Nimitz, Underwood was just gearing up to take off on his own training run.
Fravor told Underwood about the bizarre encounter, and urged Underwood to keep his eyes open.
He recalls how he suddenly saw a blip on his radar before tracking it on his FLIR camera.
Underwood was flying in an F/A-18F Super Hornet as part of the USS Nimitz (above) carrier group when he encountered an 'unidentified aerial phenomena'
'The thing that stood out to me the most was how erratic it was behaving,' Underwood told the magazine.
'And what I mean by 'erratic' is that its changes in altitude, air speed, and aspect were just unlike things that I've ever encountered before flying against other air targets.'
Underwood said the object wasn't obeying the laws of physics and dropped from 50,000 feet altitude to 100 feet in seconds, which he says, 'isn't possible'. He added that he saw no signs of an engine heat plume or any sign of propulsion.
The pilot refuses to speculate as to whether the object is an alien spacecraft or not, however.
'That's not my job. But I saw something. And it was also seen, via eyeballs, by both my commanding officer, Dave Fravor, and the Marine Corps Hornet squadron commanding officer who was out there as well.'
In a Fox News interview, Trump's former intelligence director said the sightings are difficult to explain.

More inexplicable sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) will be released for public scrutiny in June — including a UFO that broke the sound barrier without producing a sonic boom.
Speaking on Fox News, the former director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, said Saturday (March 20) that the sightings are "difficult to explain." Ratcliffe, who served in the Trump administration, said he'd hoped to declassify the reports during his tenure but that they will be released by the Pentagon by June 1.
It's not the first time the military has released strange reports, and even videos, of UFOs, known in military parlance as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). In April 2020, the U.S. Navy released three videos appearing to show aircraft flying faster than the speed of sound. And Senate intelligence reports reveal that the Pentagon is still on the hunt for UFOs or UAPs. But check your excitement, Fox Mulder — the military is generally more concerned about whether UAPs might be secret aircraft or weapons developed by other nations than it is about finding evidence of ET in our midst.
According to Newsweek, Ratcliffe said the upcoming Pentagon report will include more sightings and reports of objects moving in seemingly impossible ways or breaking the speed of sound without an accompanying sonic boom. The unexplained sightings occurred all over the world, he said, and include events picked up on automated sensors and not just by human eyes.
"There are instances where we don't have good explanations for some of the things that we've seen," Ratcliffe told Fox News.
The report and declassification is required under the Intelligence Authorization Act for 2021.
However, the sightings may not even represent advanced Earth technology. Debunkers have suggested that the apparent extreme speed of the aircraft in the videos released in April 2020 could be an optical illusion called parallax. This effect occurs when an object close to a camera lens appears to be moving, sometimes quite quickly, as the camera moves, just because it's closer to the lens than objects in the background. (A video example is available at SyfyWire.) Thus, the objects in the video could be as mundane as passenger planes or weather balloons. Some of the sudden movements in the videos may be artifacts of the camera zooming or sharpening the image, Vice reported.
There are also declassified experimental aircraft that can do things like break the speed of sound without the enormous "crack" of a sonic boom. NASA's X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology aircraft, which is under construction and not yet in flight, is designed to fly faster than sound without making more than a gentle thump to listeners on the ground. It's unknown if governments have similar, secret technology in testing or use.
Whatever the to-be-released videos show, it's a time of unprecedented document release around UFOs. In January, the CIA unveiled three decades' worth of documents about mysterious incidents reported to or investigated by the agency.
AMAZING DETAILED ALIEN CRAFT CLOSE ENCOUNTER OVER NEW GUINEA
AMAZING DETAILED ALIEN CRAFT CLOSE ENCOUNTER OVER NEW GUINEA
JUNE 26, 1959…………………PAPUA NEW GUINEA
According to renowned UFO investigator, Dr. J. Allen Hynek, one of the most well-documented “close encounters of the third kind” occurred in the Anglican mission village at Boianai, Papua, New Guinea, which was, at the time of the incident, still a territory of Australia. The Australian Anglican Church was very involved in missionary work, and ardent in sending its heralds to the island nation.
One of these was the Father William Booth Gill. Gill was highly thought of by his co-hearts, and all those who knew him. As far as the occurrence of extraordinary events was concerned, Gill was skeptical, to say the least, especially being a devoted Church worker.
The first hint of the events to come, began on April 5, 1959, when Gill saw a light on the uninhabited Mount Pudi. This light, Gill stated, moved faster than anything he had ever seen. A month or so later, his assistant, Stephen Moi, saw an “inverted saucer-shaped object” in the sky above the mission. Gill dismissed these sightings as some sort of electrical or atmospheric phenomena.
Little did he know, that these events, whatever they were, had drawn their attention to the sky above them, and soon William Gill would have one of the most celebrated UFO sightings to ever be documented, which was validated by a whole group of additional witnesses.
This extraordinary event would take place at 6:45 P.M.,June 26, 1959. Father Gill saw what he described as a bright white light to the Northwest. Word of the sight spread quickly, and within a few moments, Gill was joined by no less than thirty-eight additional witnesses, including Steven Moi, Ananias Rarata, and Mrs Nessle Moi.
According to sworn statements, these thirty-plus individuals watched a four-legged, disc-shaped object approximately the size of 5 full moons lined up end to end. This unbelievable craft was hovering over the mission!
To their utter surprise, they saw four human-like figures that seemed to be performing a kind of task. Now and then one of the figures would disappear, only to reappear in a moment or two.A blue light would shine up from the craft at what seemed to be regular intervals. The witness watched the craft and its activities for a full forty-five minutes, until the shining ship rose into the sky, and disappeared at 7:30 P.M.
Glued to the sky, the witnesses would see several smaller objects appear at 8:30, and twenty minutes later, the first craft reappeared. This phenomenal occurrence would last an incredible four hours, until cloud cover obscured the view at 10:50. Father Gill prepared a full written report of this event, and 25 other observers signed the document.
This first sighting, a once in a lifetime occurrence, would incredibly be followed by another sighting the very next night. At 6:00 P.M., the larger object appeared again, with its occupants. It was shadowed by two of the smaller objects.
In William Gill’s own words: “On the large one, two of the figures seemed to be doing something near the center of the deck. They were occasionally bending over and raising their arms as though adjusting or “setting up” something. One figure seemed to be standing, looking down at us.”
(In a moment of anticipation, Gill raised his arms and waved to the figure.) “To our surprise the figure did the same. Ananias waved both arms over his head; then the two outside figures did the same. Ananias and myself began waving our arms, and all four seemed to wave back. There seemed no doubt that our movements were answered… “
Gill and Ananias continued to occasionally wave, and their waves were returned. Another witness, Eric Kodawara, waved a torch, and there were acknowledgments from the craft. Gill went inside to eat, but when he came back, the craft was still there, only farther away (smaller).
After a Church service, at 7:45, Gill again came outside to look for the craft, but clouds had appeared, and there was no sight of the object. The very next evening, the shining craft would make one more appearance.
Gill counted eight of them at 6:45. At 11:20, Gill heard a loud bang on the roof of the mission. Going outside to see what had happened, he spied four UFOs in a circle around the building. These four craft were extremely high in the sky. The roof was checked for damage the next morning, but none was found.
“Gill’s reports constitute the most remarkable testimony of intensive UFO activity ever reported to civilian investigators. They were unique because for the first time, credible witnesses had reported the presence of humanoid beings associated with UFOs.” NOTE: The above image is CGI.

In politics, it’s always easier to admit to things and make promises when one is out of office. That’s especially true on the national level and one field that suffers from these “I didn’t reveal the secrets when I was in office but there’s a lot of them and I’ll do better next time” pronouncements is UFOs and UAPs. Think John Podesta, who claimed he regrated not digging deeper into UFOs and offer some disclosure while working for President Bill Clinton, promised to do better if Hillary Clinton was elected and still hasn’t revealed anything. Now comes John Ratcliffe, the former director of national intelligence under former President Donald Trump. He had this to say during a recent interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo (summarized by the Washington Examiner):
“There are a lot more sightings than have been made public. Some of those have been declassified. And when we talk about sightings, we are talking about objects that have seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain. Movements that are hard to replicate that we don’t have the technology for. Or traveling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.”
Former director of national intelligence John Ratcliffe
Ratcliffe is referring to incidents like the Navy Tic Tac UFO sightings, which all happened before he became Director of National Intelligence in May 2020. Nothing new here.
“When we talk about sightings, the other thing I will tell you is, it’s not just a pilot or just a satellite, or some intelligence collection. Usually we have multiple sensors that are picking up these things, and … some of these are unexplained phenomenon, and there is actually quite a few more than have been made public.”
There’s Ratcliffe’s “I knew about this but didn’t tell you when I could have” confession. Then comes the “hint about aliens without admitting anything” moment.
“Weather can cause disturbances, visual disturbances. Sometimes we wonder whether or not our adversaries have technologies that are a little bit further down the road than we thought or than we realized. But there are instances where we don’t have good explanations for some of the things that we have seen.”
Why would the former Director of National Intelligence be hinting about extraterrestrials now? He’s out of office and has no chance of getting his old position back for at least four years. Ratcliffe was also a member of the House of Representatives. Could he be planning another run so he can get back to Congress, become the next Harry Reid and influence disclosure?
Former Senator Harry Reid
Sorry, that’s not it either. Ratcliffe’s hints are coming ahead of the $2.3 trillion coronavirus relief and government funding bill that former President Trump signed into law in December, which contained the Senate Intelligence Committee’s Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 which stated that the Intelligence Committee must reveal any threats posed by “unidentified aerial phenomena” and submit them “in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.” Being the former director, Ratcliffe ‘should’ known what’s in the report. If it’s a real revelation, he can take credit for it since it was committed to under his brief watch. If it has nothing new, he can blame it on the new administration and its director for withholding information. It’s a win-win for Ratcliffe … and nothing as usual for the American UFO-disclosure-seeking public.
Unless there’s really some disclosure in it. The report is supposed to be released by June 1, but anything with “national security” in its content often has a way of being withheld or heavily redacted. All we can do is wait … and elect officials who will really do what they promise, at least when it comes to UFO/UAP disclosure.
Lying off the coast of Uruguay, in South America, is a tiny speck of rock called Isla de Lobos, meaning “Island of the Fur Seals.” It is nothing more than a desolate slash of rock patrolled by its titular seals and not much to see except a spire reaching up towards the grey sky that is the island’s lighthouse, which at 66 meters in height is among the tallest lighthouses in the world. Although it is now fully automated, there was a time when a garrison of men was required to live in isolation at this remote place in order to operate it, and our story here comes from that era. Here we get into a strange alien encounter from a faraway, remote place, which has never really been adequately explained.
In October of 1972, a total of five men were stationed at the Isla de Lobos lighthouse, working a shift of 15 days, after which another crew would come in and take over. At the time the lighthouse was operated by the Navy, and stationed there were Corporal Juan Fuentes Figueroa, enlisted men Jose Gomez and Hector Gimenez, a telegraph operator Jose Lima, and the sub-officer in charge, Francisco Cascudo. On the evening of the 28th, at around 10 PM Corporal Fuentes went out on a routine patrol to check on the power generators at the back of the facility, but his attention was caught by some strange lights in the sky hovering near the top of the generator building, seemingly right above a terrace that was situated up there about 20 feet above the ground. The lights looked to him like car headlights, although this was of course impossible, and they seemed to be flashing and oscillating between a mix of white, yellow and violet.
Isla de Lobos lighthouse
Fuentes was so unsettled by the sight that he went back to get his pistol, oddly not telling any of the other men what was going on. When he went back outside to approach the generator building again, this time he could see that there was an object up there apparently landed on the terrace, escribed as a metallic, copper-colored object shaped like an inverted bowl, standing on some sort of landing gear and with a rotating antenna of some sort on its top. What’s more, in the eerie illumination of the lights there was what looked to be a figure standing beside the object, and a second and third figure were descending from the craft. They seemed to be wearing some sort of dark suits akin to diving suits, their heads appearing somewhat elongated and oversized, and one seemed to be noticeably taller than the others, although Fuentes could not make out a lot of details. He then realized that they had turned towards him and seemed to be very aware that he was there.
At this time, Fuentes was overcome with fear and panic, and raised his pistol to point it up at the craft. It was at this point that he felt a strange sensation throughout his body like a vibration that sent his hair standing up on end, and found that he was unable to move, as if paralyzed, all while a voice boomed through his head that said “Don’t shoot because it is useless.” After this, the strange entities went back up into their ship, seemingly walking up steps of some kind, appearing to be pulling themselves up with handrails, after which the craft closed and began to lift off as its landing legs retracted telescopically. It hovered up in the air momentarily, then silently sped off at breathtaking speed with a flash of bright light like a fireball. At this point, Fuentes ran back to the others and told them what had happened, but no one believed him. Considering he was the superior officer and no one believed him, this came as a shock, but it would seem that at least one of the men, Francisco Cascudo, thought it was odd enough to pass it along to a superior officer.
Not long after their tour at the lighthouse ended, Fuentes was called aside by high-ranking officials, who interviewed him at length on what he had allegedly seen. Fuentes would claim that there were also two men who he believed to be from the U.S. Embassy lurking in the background taking notes, and who were later identified as officers of the “Spatial Affair Service.” Fuentes was also shown various pictures of different UFOs and asked to point out which were most similar to what he had witnessed and then dismissed. At no point was he ever directly questioned by the mysterious Americans, but he could see them excitedly talking to his interrogators in another room, making it obvious they were very interested in his sighting. After this, the case came to the attention of the Uruguayan UFO Investigation Center, who subjected Fuentes to some psychological tests and came to the conclusion that he was a solid witness, described as “sincere, uncomplicated and simple, with no tendency to fabrication or fantasy and lacking an average imagination.” It was also noted that Fuentes had no previous interest in or knowledge of UFOs, and they came to the conclusion that he at least truly believed he had seen what he claimed. Sub-officer Cascudo would back this up, describing Fuentes as a “simple and honest man, incapable of inventing a story of this nature.”
Skeptics of the case have speculated that Fuentes merely saw a helicopter and its occupants, who had panicked and flew off when he had aimed his pistol, but how does this explain the mysterious paralysis or the voice in his head? Also, why would a trained Navy man mistake a helicopter for a UFO, especially since he was painted as an honest man with no propensity towards jumping to far out claims? The case of the Isla de Lobos UFO encounter has never been solved, and we are left to wonder whether this was all tall tales, misidentification, or perhaps a true bizarre phenomenon at work.
On the evening of January 23, 1974, something occurred on the Berwyn Mountain range in North Wales that for some within the UFO researcher community has come to be known (to some…) as the definitive British Roswell. As researcher Andy Roberts stated in his excellent book, UFO Down?: “Running south-west to north-east across central North Wales, the Berwyn Mountains separate the flatlands of Shropshire from the Snowdonia National Park. Rising almost 900 metres above sea level, they have played host and borne silent witness to human occupation for millennia.” Andy elaborated: “Prehistoric man lived and worshipped on the mountains leaving behind him a dramatic, ritual landscape dotted with stone circles, standing stones and other once-sacred megaliths – many of which have stood for over two and a half thousand years. Not surprisingly, the area is rife with stories of ghosts and eerie presences. Folklore tells us that these mountains are haunted by many types of aerial phenomena, including the spectral Hounds of Hell: those who saw them recalled how they flew through the night sky baying as though pursued by Satan himself. To the south of the Berwyn’s at, Llanrhaedr-ym-Mochnant, the locals were plagued by a ‘flying dragon’ – intriguingly, a common name for UFOs in times gone by.”
And as Andy also carefully noted: ““It is against this backdrop of history and myth that on the evening of 23 January 1974 an event took place on the Berwyn Mountains that was to perplex locals and spawned a veritable cascade of rumors, culminating in an incredible claim that, if true, would irrevocably change our view of history and make us revise our plans for the future of both our planet and our species. The claim was that a UFO piloted by extraterrestrials crashed, or was shot down, on the mountain known as Cader Berwyn and that the alien crew, some still alive, were whisked off to a secret military installation in the south of England for study.” Since then, the issue of what did or did not occur on the Berwyn Mountains on the fateful night in question has been the subject of several books, intense controversy, heated debate and, at times, unbridled fury. That something happened at around 8.30 p.m. on the night in question is not in doubt, however.
“I saw this bright light hanging in the sky,” said Mrs. Anne Williams of Bro Diham, Llandrillo. “It had a long fiery tale which seemed to be motionless for several minutes, going dim and then very brilliant, like a dormant fire which keeps coming to life. It would have been like an electric bulb in shape, except that it seemed to have rough edges. [It] then fell somewhere behind the hills at the back of my bungalow and the earth shook.” That the events caused considerable excitement and concern was something also noted by Police Constable Gwilym Owen, who was off-duty at the time and having a pint of beer in the nearby Dudley Arms public house. He stated shortly afterwards: “There was a great roar and a bang and the glasses shook. The sky was lit up over the mountains. The color was yellowish but other people in the valley described seeing blue lights.” Five miles away, Police Sergeant Gwyn Williams was at home in Corwen: “The walls shook and the mirror swung away from the wall,” he recalled. “My first thought was that a big lorry had hit the cinema – it was that kind of a roar and bang. Everyone ran into the street.”
Berwyn Mountains
At 838 p.m., the Global Seismology Unit of the Institute of Geological Sciences at Edinburgh, Scotland, recorded an earth tremor between 3.5 and 4 on the Richter scale. In response to questions posed by eager journalists, Dr. Roy Lilwall, the Senior Scientific Officer at the Institute, said that he had been told that a meteorite had possibly come down on the mountain and, had it been responsible for the “earthquake” that had been recorded at Edinburgh, it would have to have weighed several hundred tons. Approximately ninety minutes after the events on the Berwyns, Ken Haughton of Betws-y-coed viewed a “luminous sphere,” some 400 feet across and traveling at an approximated height of 15,000 feet. It was Haughton’s opinion that as he watched the sphere, it proceeded to descend into the sea in the area of the town of Rhyl, or possibly in the Dee Estuary.
Andy Roberts added, “Following the explosion, Llandrillo district nurse Pat Evans ran out into the village street. She saw no lights but the explosion and the accounts of other villagers convinced her that something had crashed on the mountains. It took her a while to get through to the police as the ‘phone lines were jammed with 999 calls [Note from the author: the equivalent of the United States’ 911 emergency telephone number], but eventually she spoke to Colwyn Bay Police HQ. They suggested it could have been a ‘plane crash so she bundled her two young daughters into the car and set off up the mountain, intending to offer help until the emergency services arrived.
As Mrs. Evans reached the point where the B4391 mountain road levels out she was puzzled by what appeared to be a large illuminated ball of light on the hillside. Unable to identify it was she drove on for a few minutes before returning to the same spot. The light was still there so she parked and observed it for a while. A light drizzle was falling but the night was otherwise clear and Mrs. Evans was able to describe the ball as ‘large,’ and forming a ‘perfect circle.’ But it didn’t appear to be three-dimensional. In an interview she recalled, ‘There were no flames shooting or anything like that. It was very uniform, round in shape…it was a flat round…’ As she watched in puzzlement the light changed color several times from red to yellow to white. Smaller lights, ‘fairy lights’ in Mrs. Evans’ words, could be seen nearby. It was too far away to reach on foot and so she returned home to bed.”
On the following day, 24 January, a Royal Air Force mountain rescue team from Anglesey was dispatched to the Berwyn Mountains and, along with personnel from Gwynedd Police, searched the location for any sign of the object or its impact point. In turn, they received assistance in the search from the RAF station at Valley, Anglesey, who flew two aircraft to conduct a detailed photographic survey of the area. Nothing was reportedly found. Adding to the mystery, and on that same day, Men-in-Black-style rumors were rife among the local and close-knit communities, suggesting that the area had been descended upon by shadowy government figures that were intent on interviewing anyone and everyone with knowledge of the incident. And only hours later, an unusual aerial object was seen by David Upton at nearby Gobowen. As he went out of the backdoor of his home at about 7.15 p.m., he was immediately struck by the brightness of an object in the western sky and quickly ran back into the house for a pair of field glasses. To his complete amazement, these revealed a disc-shaped object that seemed to be divided up into four distinct sections, each of which was of a different color – red, green, yellow, and purple. David Upton’s sister, Elizabeth, a twenty-year-old bank clerk, then took over the glasses, followed shortly thereafter by their mother, Mary Upton. Both verified David’s description.
“I had been watching it for about ten minutes and thought perhaps I should tell someone about it,” said Elizabeth Upton. She telephoned the local police, and they said that they would dispatch someone to the area. A minute or so after the call, the UFO disappeared behind a cloud. “We waited for the cloud to pass and when it did the disc had gone too,” she explained, adding: “When I first came out of the house the light from the object was dazzling, like a street lamp. When we looked through the field glasses we could define its overall disc-shape and the four sections.” Two people known to have been involved in the affair were Doctors Ron Maddison and Aneurin Evans of Keele University. Both expressed the theory that a meteorite had been the culprit. However, if the object was a meteorite they said, then it had to have (a) completely disintegrated upon impact; and (b) not left a crater, as Dr. Maddison noted carefully that: “…the only changes we could see were recent disturbances of surface soil in some areas, but we were hampered to some extent by light snowfall.”
Two days later, it was stated in the local press that “police and RAF rescue experts” had come to the conclusion that the strange lights seen throughout the area were due to meteorite activity seen – coincidentally – at the same time that a group of men were out on the mountain range hunting hares with powerful lamps. Any link with the “earthquake” was entirely coincidental. RAF search team leader, Sergeant H. Oldham, said that another search of the area was “unlikely” to occur unless further information surfaced that attributed the lights to another source. Perhaps not surprisingly, the “hare” explanation received short shrift with the local witnesses, as can be seen fin the following extract taken from a letter sent to the Wrexham Leader newspaper: “Regarding your front page article ‘Mystery Tremor’ in the issue of January 25, I find the explanation given absolutely ludicrous. The tremors shook houses over a 60-mile radius, and the lights were seen clearly miles away – this was reported by the national press and radio. I know nothing about ‘Hare hunting’ but unless the hunters use aircraft searchlights and kill their prey by lobbing a small atom bomb at them, then I fail to see how anyone can accept such an explanation.”
So what, exactly, did happen on that fateful night of 23 January 1974? Did the strange lights provide firm evidence that a malfunctioning UFO was hurtling towards its doom on the Berwyn Mountains? And was the so-called “earthquake” evidence that this same UFO had almost immediately thereafter slammed at high speed into the bleak and harsh mountain known as Cader Berwyn? Or, was the entire event the result of a large-scale misconception of a curiously synchronistic combination of a meteorite shower, an earth tremor, and a group of men hunting for hares on the mountain and armed with powerful lamps – all in the same location and at practically the same time? The questions are still being answered to this day.
It’s an interesting, credible report, offered in its time-frame so it’s saved from accretions that tend to accumulate upon early flying saucer reports that UFO “researchers” muck around in.
But two 1948 accounts that are well-known and intriguing are the Mantell UFO chase that killed him and the passenger plane pilots Chiles and Whitted who were skirted by a cigar-shaped craft that whizzed by their airplane, offering a stimulating observation and report.
First, the Mantell chase of a huge UFO over Kentucky has been determined by many ufologists to have been a skyhook balloon that the F-51 pilot mistook for a strange craft that took him beyond an oxygen level not amenable to consciousness causing Captain Mantell to blackout, ultimately losing control of his plane bringing it down into a disintegrated mess.
But reading the Fawcett account, not long after the devastating “accident” raises questions about that scenario, although I thought it reasonable. However, a listing of Mantell’s record and military demeanor undercuts the skyhook possibility, especially since another like-UFO was reported at Lockbourne Air Force Base later that day, traveling at 500 mph.
(The Air Force initially said that Mantell was chasing the planet Venus.)
The passenger plane pilots Chiles and Whitted were supported by a passenger, all three seeing something large whiz by their aircraft, the pilots providing sketches of what they saw:
The observational differences make the sighting somewhat iffy, but do not destroy the credibility of Chiles or Whitted, as witnesses to startling events are prone to see different aspects of what occurred.
The Fawcett account presents a sensible, journalistic rendering of the episode. I think Kevin Randle has dealt with this sighting several times at his blog [kevinrandle.blogspot.com].
While searching for some pics of both events, I came across a web-site from Keith Braithwaite:
In 1977, the FBI declassified its UFO files under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. It was something that led to close to 2,000 pages of UFO-themed material being placed into the public domain. Since then, even more UFO-connected material has been made available by the FBI for one and all to see – such as files on cattle mutilations, the so-called Conatctees (George Adamski, George Van Tassel and so on), and UFO research groups. One of the first pages of material the FBI released back in 1977 was a letter sent, in the summer of 1947, to the FBI by a scientist. His name: Edwin M. Bailey. He was also a man who had some deep worries about the suddenly growing UFO phenomenon. Probably because of Bailey’s standing, the FBI didn’t waste any time in contacting him for a chat. J. Edgar Hoover’s agents were keen to see what Bailey had to say. After all, this was the dawning of the “Flying Saucer” age and just about everyone was fascinated by what was afoot.
In their papers on Bailey, the FBI stated: “Bailey prefaced his remarks by stating that he is a scientist by occupation and is currently employed at the American Cyanamid Research Laboratories on West Main Street in Stamford, Connecticut, in the Physics Division. Bailey further indicated that during the war he was employed at MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the Radiation Laboratory which Laboratory is connected with the Manhattan Project. Bailey advised that he is thirty years of age and is a graduate of the University of Arizona.”
Before I continue with the story, here’s a bit of background on Bailey’s employer, American Cyanamid Research Laboratories: “American Cyanamid Company was a leading American conglomerate which became one of the nation’s top 100 manufacturing companies during the 1970s and 1980s, according to the Fortune 500 listings at the time. Founded by Frank Washburn in 1907, the company grew to over 100,000 employees worldwide, and had over 200,000 shareholders by the mid-1970s. Its stock was traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ACY. It was repeatedly reorganized after the mid-1990s, merged with other firms, and saw brands and divisions sold or spun off. The bulk of the former company is now part of Pfizer, with smaller portions belonging to BASF, Procter & Gamble and other firms.
“Although originally a manufacturer of agricultural chemicals the product line was soon broadened into many different types of industrial chemicals and specialty chemicals. The company then diversified into synthetic fibers, pharmaceuticals, surgical products, plastics, and inorganic pigments before World War II; and later added, by acquisitions, cosmetic and toiletry products, perfumes, building products, home building, and several smaller product categories following World War II.”
The FBI continued and listened carefully to Bailey’s thoughts on the Flying Saucer mystery. In the FBI’s records we’re provided the following on the man and his ideas: “Bailey stated that the topic of ‘flying saucers’ had caused considerable comment and concern to the present day scientists and indicated that he himself had a personal theory concerning the ‘flying saucers.’ Prior to advancing his own theory, Bailey remarked that immediately after the conclusion of World War II, a friend of his, [Deleted], allegedly observed the ‘flying saucers’ from an observatory in Milan and Bologna, Italy. He stated that apparently at the time the ‘flying saucers’ had caused a little comment in Italy but that after some little publicity they immediately died out as public interest. Bailey stated that it is quite possible that actually the ‘flying saucers’ could be radio controlled germ bombs or atom bombs which are circling the orbit of the earth and which could be controlled by radio and directed to land on any designated target at the specific desire of the agency or country operating the bombs.”
Although just about everything Bailey said – and suspected, too – was speculative, the FBI was concerned by the matter of those “germ bombs.” Whether the FBI may have heard of such theories from other people, I don’t know; the files don’t make that clear. That Bailey became of interest to the FBI, though, showed that when the UFO enigma began on June 24, 1947 – the date on which the famous Kenneth Arnold case took place – J. Edgar Hoover’s agents were taking things carefully and quickly. Maybe with a degree of concern, too.
