Wie was Nostradamus? Hoewel we hem maar bij één naam kennen, werd hij eigenlijk geboren als Michel de Nostredame. Nostradamus is de Latijnse vorm van zijn naam. Hij werd geboren op 14 December 1503 in het zuiden van Frankrijk in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
Zijn eerste profetieën kwamen voort uit verdriet Men gelooft dat Nostradamus de toekomst begon te voorspellen na de tragische dood van zijn vrouw en kinderen door een pestepidemie in Frankrijk. Hij begon door Europa te reizen en leerde over Joodse mystiek en astrologische technieken.

De aarde is rond Hoewel sommige samenzweringstheorieën iets anders beweren, heeft de wetenschap bevestigd dat onze planeet rond is. Dit wordt ook in de Bijbel genoemd: 'Hij troont boven de kring der aarde' (Jesaja 40:22).

David zou Goliath daadwerkelijk hebben kunnen verslaan Een kleine jongen die een reus verslaat klinkt misschien onwaarschijnlijk, maar het verhaal van David en Goliath in 1 Samuël 17 verteld het net iets anders.

Dit kan problemen met het gezichtsvermogen veroorzaken en het centrale (perifere) gezichtsvermogen kan beperkt zijn, wat handig zou zijn geweest voor David.

Wezens kunnen niet leven zonder bloed De meesten van ons zijn bekend met het verhaal van Adam en Eva uit de Bijbel. Mensen hebben in feite een vrouwelijke biologische voorouder genaamd Mitochondriale Eva, die voorafgaat aan onze soort: Homo sapiens. Er is echter één ding dat ons alle levende wezens verbindt: bloed.
Wezens kunnen niet leven zonder bloed 'Want het leven van een schepsel is in het bloed, en ik heb het u gegeven om voor uzelf te verzoenen te doen op het altaar; het is het bloed dat verzoening doet voor iemands leven' (Leviticus 17:11).
Ontsmetten is echt belangrijk De pandemie heeft ons allemaal pro's gemaakt in het ontsmetten van onze handen en kleding om verspreiding van ziektekiemen te voorkomen, maar de Bijbel noemde het belang ervan al lang geleden.
De zieken moeten zich isoleren Hoewel er zich later in de geschiedenis behoorlijke quarantaines ontwikkelden, adviseerde de Bijbel al 'de getroffen persoon zeven dagen af te zonderen', en als ze niet beter zijn, 'ze nog zeven dagen te isoleren' (Leviticus 13:1-5).
Ontsmetten is echt belangrijk Leviticus 11:28 zegt bijvoorbeeld: 'Iedereen die hun karkassen ophaalt, moet zijn kleren wassen, en ze zullen tot de avond onrein zijn. Deze dieren zijn onrein voor jullie.'
Seahenge werd opgericht tijdens een periode van intense kou, met als doel de zomer te verlengen en de warmere dagen terug te brengen, zo vermoedt een Engelse onderzoeker nu.
Op het strand in Norfolk, gelegen in het oosten van Engeland, werd in 1998 een mysterieuze, duizenden jaren oude houten cirkel ontdekt. Het monument, dat bestaat uit een omgekeerde boomstronk die omringd is door 55 nauwsluitende eiken palen, kwam aan het licht door verschuivende zandduinen. Sinds zijn ontdekking vragen wetenschappers zich al af waar dit monument in vervlogen tijden precies voor diende. En onderzoeker David Nance denkt het nu te weten.
Seahenge Hoewel het raadselachtige monument oorspronkelijk bekend stond als Holme I, verwierf het al snel de bijnaam Seahenge vanwege zijn gelijkenis met Stonehenge en zijn ligging aan de kust. Wat we over het monument weten, is dat het zo’n 4000 jaar oud is en uit de oude Bronstijd stamt. Het lijkt te zijn gebouwd met hout dat dateert uit het voorjaar van 2049 vóór Christus. In eerste instantie werd het gebouwd op het zoutmoeras, ver verwijderd van de kustlijn. Door de moerassige omgeving ontstond er een laag turf die geleidelijk aan de houten structuren bedekte, waardoor ze werden beschermd tegen verval.

Functie Ondertussen gaan al veel speculaties over de oorspronkelijke functie van het monument de ronde. Men vermoedde al eerder dat de cirkel is opgericht om de dood van een persoon te markeren. Sommigen denken dat het werd gebruikt voor begrafenissen, waarbij de overledenen binnenin werden gelegd om door aaseters te worden opgepikt. Maar nu brengt Nance in zijn onderzoek een ander idee naar voren.
Prehistorische klimaatverandering Nance vermoedt dat Seahenge werd gebouwd als reactie op een periode van hevige klimaatverandering tegen het einde van het derde millennium vóór Christus. Zo zou het zijn opgericht tijdens een periode van extreme kou. Hij denkt dat dit gebeurde met het doel om rituelen uit te voeren die bedoeld waren om de zomer te verlengen en warmer weer terug te brengen. “Ongeveer 4000 jaar geleden, toen Seahenge werd gebouwd, waren er langdurige periodes van koud weer met strenge winters en late lentes,” licht Nance toe. “Dit zorgde voor problemen voor de mensen die langs de kust woonden. Het lijkt er sterk op dat dit monument werd gebouwd met als doel om de ernstige dreiging van het koude weer te stoppen.”
Koekoek Om dit te ondersteunen, wijst Nance op de uitlijning van Seahenge met de zonsopgang tijdens de zomerzonnewende. “Het onderzoek naar de houten palen van Seahenge toonde aan dat ze in het voorjaar werden omgehakt,” licht Nance toe. “Het is aannemelijk dat deze palen werden geplaatst in overeenstemming met de opkomst van de zon tijdens de zomerzonnewende.” Hij denkt dat Seahenge opgericht werd om een oude legende na te bootsen waarbij een koekoek wordt gevangen om de zomer langer te laten duren. “Volgens de oude verhalen stopte de koekoek, die werd gezien als een symbool van vruchtbaarheid, op de zomerzonnewende met zingen,” zegt Nance. “Dan keerde hij terug naar de ‘Andere Wereld’, en verdween de zomer samen met hem.” Het lijkt erop dat het monument de vorm nabootst van twee veronderstelde winterverblijven van de koekoek uit de legende: een holle boom of de ‘bogen van de Andere Wereld’, gerepresenteerd door de omgekeerde eiken boomstronk in het midden.
Holme II Nance bestudeerde ook ‘Holme II’ – een tweede, aangrenzende cirkel die dateert uit hetzelfde jaar, en die gecentreerd is rond twee plat gelegde eiken stammen. Voor Holme II verwijst hij naar legendes over ‘heilige koningen’ uit de IJzertijd in Ierland en noordelijk Groot-Brittannië. Volgens deze legendes werden deze koningen geofferd als er tegenspoed over de gemeenschap kwam. Dit werd gedaan in een poging om de godin Venus gunstig te stemmen en zo harmonie te herstellen. “Ze werden elke acht jaar ritueel geofferd tijdens Samhain (nu Halloween), in overeenstemming met de achtjarige cyclus van Venus,” legt Nance uit. “De structuren in Holme II, die verondersteld werden een doodskist vast te houden, waren gericht op de zonsopgang tijdens Samhain in het jaar 2049 vóór Christus, toen Venus nog steeds zichtbaar was.”
Al met al denkt Nance voor beide mysterieuze monumenten nu een sluitende verklaring te hebben gevonden. “Hoewel beide monumenten zijn opgericht voor verschillende rituelen, delen ze één gemeenschappelijk doel: het stoppen van het extreme koude weer,” besluit hij.

As the frozen environment awakens in the spring after the months it spends blanketed in darkness each year, signs of life begin to return to Greenland’s icy landscape. Several large animals, including the region’s polar bears, arctic terns, and musk oxen, begin to stir as sunlight warms the frozen Earth.
Now, scientists have learned that those aren’t the only massive lifeforms that dwell on Greenland’s ice, although new research is revealing how others have remained undiscovered for so long.
GREENLAND’S INVISIBLE “GIANTS”
Researchers studying Greenland’s icy ecosystem report the new discovery of gigantic viruses thriving on the region’s Arctic ice. These viruses could help manage local algal blooms and may even reduce the speed at which ice melts.
Lying dormant on the ice during the months, Greenland remains in darkness. As spring arrives, algae begin to bloom, causing large darkened areas on the ice sheet. This reduces the sunlight it reflects and induces faster melting, a process that could contribute to global warming.
Laura Perini, a postdoctoral researcher from the Department of Environmental Science at Aarhus University, says the giant viruses she and her colleagues have discovered living alongside these Arctic algae may be acting as a natural control mechanism that helps to curb their blooms.
“We don’t know a lot about the viruses, but I think they could be useful in alleviating ice melting caused by algal blooms,” Perini said in a statement. “How specific they are and how efficient it would be, we do not know yet. But by exploring them further, we hope to answer some of those questions.”
At as little as 20 nanometers in size, viruses are generally much smaller than bacteria. However, the viruses Perini and her colleagues have discovered in Greenland are massive by comparison, capable of growing to sizes as much as 2.5 micrometers, making these “giant” viruses larger than most bacteria.
These invisible giants lurking on Greenland’s ice sheet aren’t the only unusually large viruses known to scientists. In 1981, similar massive viruses were discovered in oceanic environments. Like their icy cousins, these giant viruses also infected green ocean algae. Additional examples have also been found on land, and even a few varieties are known to dwell in our bodies.
Still, Perini and her team’s discovery marks the first time that giant viruses have been found thriving on surface ice, subsisting off of microalgae dwelling in snow. These curious organisms were found in dark ice, as well as samples of red snow that the team analyzed.
The new findings challenge past notions that the Arctic landscape was barren and devoid of life. Scientists today recognize it as an ecosystem where bacteria, filamentous fungi, yeasts, protists, and giant viruses thrive and interact.
“There’s a whole ecosystem surrounding the algae. Besides bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeasts, there are protists eating the algae, different species of fungi parasitizing them, and the giant viruses that we found, infecting them,” Perini says.
re massive in comparison to other viruses, these newly discovered arctic “giants” are still invisible to the naked eye. They might have gone unnoticed if Perini had not discovered them while analyzing DNA in the samples her team collected, where sequences similar to other known giant viruses were observed.
Although they aBy extracting and sequencing mRNA from their samples, Perini and her team confirmed that viruses were present and living on the ice.
Unlike normal viruses, giant viruses can transcribe their DNA into mRNA themselves, whereas smaller varieties have to rely on hijacking the cells of their hosts. Many questions remain about these unusually large viruses, including what ecological roles they play and about their specific hosts.
Further studies are expected to reveal how these giant viruses interact in their Arctic ecosystem, and in the months ahead, Perini and her team plan to publish additional research on how these viruses infect microalgae, which could help to reveal new insights into the curious, “invisible” giants that thrive on the Greenland Ice Sheet.

On September 7, 1936, the last known thylacine, often referred to as the Tasmanian tiger, is believed to have died in captivity in Hobart, Tasmania.
Since then, the species, long presumed extinct, has taken on a near-mythical status. The thylacine still captures the public’s imagination, having earned its place as a modern symbol of both loss, and also possibilities. The creature’s unmistakable striped appearance has also helped propel it to its current position as a pop cultural icon and a constant reminder of humanity’s more destructive side.
Yet what is perhaps the most intriguing about the thylacine is that, for many decades, alleged sightings of the creatures have continued, causing even some of the most skeptical wildlife experts to wonder whether the beloved Tasmanian tiger might have survived extinction, remaining alive but critically endangered in some of Tasmania’s most remote forests.
Last year, a comprehensive analysis of 1,237 thylacine sightings reported since 1910 indicated the possibility that the creatures might have indeed persisted until as recently as the 1980s, if not more recently. The study, led by Professor Barry Brook from the University of Tasmania and published in the journal Science of the Total Environment, based its evaluations on the quality of observations by assigning them a credibility rating, providing a fresh perspective on the timing and location of the thylacine’s potential last days.

According to the study’s findings, contrary to the widely accepted death of the last known thylacine in 1936, which marked its extinction, the species likely survived until sometime between the 1940s and 1970s, with the northwest of Tasmania near Waratah serving as its likely final stronghold.
Following the death of the last officially recognized thylacine in the 1930s, hopes remained that confirmation of the species’ existence would be obtained, but after several decades of intriguing sightings, the International Union for Conservation of Nature officially declared the thylacine extinct in 1982. However, Brook’s study also examined sightings of slightly lower reliability that were logged in later decades, which indicated an intriguing possibility: that at least a few representatives of Australia’s most iconic marsupial species may have lived long enough to have seen the arrival of the new millennium.
CREDIBLE SIGHTINGS
Among the most credible sightings of thylacines that occurred after their accepted extinction was a report by Hans Naarding, a park ranger who said he observed one of the creatures for several minutes while illuminated by torchlight in 1982. The sighting was deemed so credible that it resulted in a search for the species by Tas Parks, in cooperation with Dr. Eric Guiler, which lasted more than two years.
Peter Murrell, then Director of the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service, cited the Naarding sighting as the best “in the history of the service,” which he called “irrefutable and conclusive” evidence of the creature’s survival.
Such sightings prompted numerous additional searches. Between 1982 and 1983, Parks and Wildlife Officer Nick Mooney attempted to confirm Naarding’s sighting during searches conducted near the Arthur River in northwestern Tasmania, which failed to find any conclusive evidence of the creatures. The following year, in 1984, Tasmanian Wildlife Park owner Peter Wright conducted similar unsuccessful searches. Then, in 1988, photographers Dave Watts and Ned Terry spent several years seeking evidence of Thylacines but eventually gave up their search in 1993.
Despite the failed searches, a few intriguing reports continued. In one instance, a thylacine was reportedly shot near Adamsfield, Tasmania, in the early 1990s, after which a photograph of one of the creature’s feet was compared with a specimen kept at Museum Victoria. Chris Rehberg, who manages the website Where Light Meets Dark, which collects information on sightings of rare fauna like the thylacine, wrote, “It is my opinion that the features shown in the photograph categorically demonstrate the animal to be Thylacine, to the exclusion of all other candidate species in Tasmania.”
COULD THE THYLACINE STILL EXIST?
Brook believes that while the 2023 study’s findings are compelling, there is a less than 1% chance that the creatures are still alive today. Still, some compelling—though unconfirmed—accounts and photographs could point to this intriguing possibility, which served as the basis for a 60 Minutes segment that aired in April 2024.
In May 2024, new photos allegedly depicting a Tasmanian tiger in the wild were publicized by wildlife biologist Forrest Galante on his YouTube channel. During an interview with the alleged photographer, identified only as “Zack,” Galante expressed the view that some of the images looked legitimate, but that he remained skeptical about at least one of the photos and planned to have them examined by an expert.
In 2022, The Debrief spoke with Professor Andrew Pask from the University of Melbourne, who, along with the U.S.-based company Colossal Biosciences, announced a cooperative effort with hopes of reviving the thylacine with help from modern genetic technologies.
Pask told The Debrief that he remains skeptical about the thylacine’s possible survival and that the creatures would likely have only lasted a few generations beyond the death of the last known thylacine in captivity in 1936.
Pask also emphasized that the loss of the thylacine played a significant role in destabilizing the environment in which the creatures once thrived.
“That role as an apex predator was incredibly important in the ecosystem in which it sits,” Pask told The Debrief. “There are no other marsupial apex predators at all.”
“When that animal was lost, it really affects that entire ecosystem. It really has massive effects on multiple other species,” Pask said.
While questions remain about how long thylacines may have persisted, as well as the seemingly very slim possibility that a few of the creatures may remain alive today, Australia’s most enigmatic marsupial lives on through stories, art, scientific endeavors, and even recent studies like those conducted by Brook, reminding modern generations of the fragile balance between humanity and nature, and helping to inspire interest in conservation that may help other species that are currently designated as critically endangered.

Ancient megalithic structures, enormous and enigmatic, prompt us to question their builders. It seems impossible that human beings could have constructed such structures.

Footage showing the unknown flying object was shared on social media by residents from several regions, including Stavropol Krai, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Krasnodar Krai, and the Republic of Kalmykia. Russian state-run news agency RIA Novosti reported that some residents believed it was a falling meteorite or comet, while others said they thought they had seen a satellite or an "enemy object."
The videos showed the fireball breaking up into multiple parts as it moved slowly across the night sky. Newsweek has not independently verified the footage.
This comes weeks after social media users reported seeing mysterious spiral UFO sightings across the United States and Europe. Interest in unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) peaked last year after several experts testified before a Congress committee in July 2023 that they could pose a threat to national security. A Gallup poll conducted in 2021 found that 41 percent of Americans believe alien spacecraft have visited Earth, up eight points from 33 percent in 2019.
RIA Novosti reported, citing amateur astronomers, that the sighting could have been space debris burning at low speed.
The Telegram channel of the observational astronomy project, AstroAlert, said the burning object was likely a SpaceX Starlink satellite.
"The culprit of today's sky show has been found! This is most likely STARLINK-2653," the channel said, sharing a map purportedly showing its flight path.
"On this map, its final flight path is the lower orbit turning from white to green and then to the red line, going through the center of the Sahara Desert, the Mediterranean Sea, Turkey, the Black Sea, Sochi and further over the northern Caspian Sea."
"15 minutes before combustion (at 17:35 UT or 20:35 Moscow time), the spacecraft flew over the western coast of Africa near a point with coordinates 0° longitude and 0° latitude," the channel said.

Russia this week announced that it had kickstarted the first stage of testing tactical nuclear weapons in the region. Personnel of the Southern Military District had started training and completing combat tasks with "special ammunition" for Iskander missile systems, the Russian defense ministry said in a statement.
There is no suggestion that the fireball spotted on Wednesday is linked to the tactical tests. Newsweek has reached out to Russia's Foreign Ministry for comment via email.
"The personnel of the aviation units of the Russian Aerospace Forces involved in the exercise practice are equipping aviation weapons with special warheads, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, and flying into designated patrol areas," the statement said.
The Space Development Agency (SDA) has announced it is moving forward with the development of a ground system infrastructure for its experimental “FOO Fighter” fire control satellites.
Boeing’s Millennium Space Systems is developing the Fire-Control On Orbit-support-to-the-war Fighter, or FOO Fighter (F2) system. The system will involve an array of eight prototype satellites capable of high-fidelity tracking of adversary missiles and providing precise coordinates to missile defense interceptors.
The program “will accelerate the ability to provide fire-control in support of global detection, warning, and precision tracking of advanced missile threats, including hypersonic missile systems,” according to a draft solicitation released by the SDA last fall. “The F2 system will demonstrate advanced missile defense capability by incorporating fire control-quality sensors into a prototype constellation,” the solicitation adds.
This week, it was revealed that the first request for proposals for the experimental satellites is set to be released on June 18, according to SDA Director Derek Tournear, who spoke with reporters on May 24. The proposal request was first reported by Breaking Defense.
According to its current timelines, the SDA plans to solicit proposals for contractors to develop and manage the ground system backbone for the FOO Fighter program. This initiative marks a significant step toward advancing the U.S.’s satellite-based missile defense capabilities.
Tournear explained on Friday that a pre-RFP announcement had been posted on the SAM.gov website, detailing the SDA’s solicitation for an integrator to develop and manage the ground system for the FOO Fighter program.
The first solicitation, called the “Advanced Fire Control Ground Integration,” is looking for contractors to lay the groundwork for the program through the establishment of a developmental operations center (DOC) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
The development of the system’s DOC will include the construction of ground entry points for data downlinks, cloud hosting for computing, and providing the IT resources that will support the FOO Fighter program during its initial stages, as well as later providing support for other fire control demonstrations.
This will be followed by a second solicitation, the “Advanced Fire Control Mission Integration” (AFCMI), later this summer. This solicitation will secure a contractor to oversee ground-based operations for the management of incoming data from the FOO Fighter and future demonstrations, helping to propel the program toward eventual use with military operators.
Originally, the SDA had envisioned hiring a sole contractor to oversee all of the program’s demonstration satellites under the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Futures Program (PFP). This included the T1DES (Tranche 1 Demonstration and Experimentation System) project and the T2DES (Transport Layer Tranche 2).
Following additional feedback from industry stakeholders, an additional draft solicitation was issued last month, prompting SDA to take a slightly different approach.
The April 30 solicitation announced an award “using Other Transaction Authority (OTA) with a total potential value of approximately $414 million to build eight satellites, for launch in first quarter fiscal year 2027,” revealing that the fixed-price agreement had been awarded to California-based Millennium Space Systems, Inc.
“The FOO Fighter program will provide an operational demonstration of fire control efforts separate from, but complementary to, our missile warning/missile tracking and missile defense efforts already underway in the tranches,” Tournear said, accompanying the solicitation’s release.
“We look forward to working with Millennium, a new teammate in the expanding marketplace of performers innovating to deliver the PWSA for the warfighter,” Tournear said.
Tournear told reporters on Friday that feedback from the industry made it evident that the previous solicitation had been confusing due to the level of complication it involved, likely making it very difficult for any prospective contractor to execute. It was, therefore, impractical for SDA to depend on a single contractor to manage the full range of technologies the FOO Fighter program will require.
Tournear said the new ground system for fire control must be operational before the FOO Fighter satellites are launched. Current estimates aim to have them in orbit by the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
“The contracts will start in the first week of December 2024, and then everything will be in place by the summer of 2026,” Tournear said last week, emphasizing that SDA plans to have the infrastructure for the program’s operation ready well ahead of the satellite launch.
The program’s unique title is more than just a random designator. The name appears to be rather obviously derived from a nickname given to phenomena encountered by Allied pilots flying over Europe during the Second World War who, as early as March 1942, began reporting sightings of unusual lights that reportedly paced their aircraft.
The odd name incorporated the word “foo,” first used and popularized by artist Bill Holman, who created the then-popular Smokey Stover cartoon strip. The term “Foo Fighter” was believed to have first been used by Donald J. Meiers, a radar operator with the 415th Night Fighter Squadron.

Residents in a Japanese town were left wondering if they were at the forefront of an alien invasion after spotting nine eerie pillars of light in the night sky.
Every unexplained flash of light in the sky, wayward glow lantern or runaway balloon has been accused of being an extra terrestrial at some point.
Beyond the alien mass-hysteria, according to the US government, there are no credible occurrences of UFO's - recently rebranded to UAP's (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon).
However, residents of Tottori Prefecture in southern Japan might be left wondering if that's entirely true after a nine mysterious pillars of light were captured floating in the sky on 11 May.
Like anyone confronted with such a strange occurrence in the sky, residents swiftly snapped photos of the pillars and uploaded them to social media to seek an explanation.

The lights were originally shared on X by user Maashii, who wrote: "Around 22:00 today, I discovered a streak of light above Mikaya Port in Daisen Town, Tottori."
"When I looked up at the night sky in front of my house, I saw several streaks of light in the sky," he also told Japanese news site Hint-Pot.
The lights appeared to be floating to the north of the town above the Sea of Japan, with the tweet viewed over 12.1 million times and capturing the attention of X users across the world.
Unsurprisingly, the strange lights led some to speculate that they 'might be abducted by aliens' or if it's 'one big UFO'.
Meanwhile, some also shared their own pictures of the lights.
However, the lights actually have a completely reasonable explanation - and it's not little green men in spaceships.

The beams in the sky are actually above a patch of the sea popular with fishing boats, meaning that the lights are actually reflections of the boats in the harbour at the point.
This isn't the first time the lights have been spotted either, with fellow Daisen resident Marcy telling Hint-Pot that she'd witnessed the floating lights a handful of times since moving to the town nine years ago.
The phenomenon is known as 'Isaribi Kochu' or 'fish-attracting light pillars'.
The lights don't often appear, however, sometimes happening once a year, according to Japan Today in 2015.
In order to coax nocturnal fish to their boats, fishermen use lights in order to attract them.
However, according to the publication, when the overnight temperatures drops low enough, ice crystals can form in the air above ships, and given the right conditions, they are bright enough to reflect into the sky and can be seen from shore.
So not aliens, but still pretty cool right?

Congress' recent support for investigating unidentified sightings in American skies has led to excitement as well as some disappointing results for UFO enthusiasts across the country.
Last January, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said it was investigating a total of 510 unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAP, sightings, more than triple the number recorded in its previous report, published in 2021. However, just over half of the new sightings were deemed "unremarkable," giving some pause to the notion that they were signs of alien or extraterrestrial life.
That hasn't altered how social media continues to respond to new pictures of what some believe are extraordinary or even alien phenomena. This week, a series of photos appeared to show mystery pillars or beams shining across a Japanese skyline.

The Claim
A Sunday post on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Banderafella included a photo of what appeared to be huge columns of light shooting out over the sky. The accompanying post read: "Japan sees pillars of light in the sky. Alien invasion?"
The Pentagon has said that many of the "unresolved" reports of unidentified objects in the sky have come down to a lack of good data, as well as technology incapable of accurately tracking unknown aerial objects at the time they were witnessed.
Officials say that with better data and improvements in technology, more concrete explanations for these mysterious objects will be possible.
In the case of the "pillars of light" drawing speculation about an "alien invasion," the truth behind them has been far easier to establish. The photos were posted on May 11 by X user maashii_taiyo and have attracted 12.1 million views. Maashi told the Japanese website Hint-Pot that the phenomenon is caused by light emitted from fishing boats and refracting in the sky, and it is said to occur only under certain weather conditions every few years.
Some speculated that this could be an indication of visitors from beyond Earth. ButAlpha Centauri, a Ukrainian nonprofit educational project,said on Xthat a mysterious white flash spotted over some regions of the country on Thursday evening was the exhaust spiral from aSpaceXFalcon 9 rocket launch from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base.
"Mysterious objects in Ukrainian skies again! Over some regions of the country, the second stage of the Falcon 9 vehicle could be seen launching two WorldView Legion satellites," Alpha Centauri wrote.
The Ruling
Needs Context
While the "pillars of light" were photographed in the sky over Japan, there is nothing mysterious about their origin. The lights come from fishing boats, and they refract in a display said to happen only once every few years.
Edgar Cayce, the “Sleeping Prophet” of America, was probably the most well-known clairvoyant of the 20th century. Over a period of nearly 43 years, beginning in 1901 when he gave his first reading, Cayce used to enter into a trance-like state and diagnose the physical and mental ailments of people who came to him for help and specify astonishingly effective medical treatments.
Cayce’s modus operandi was simple. He would lie down on a couch, take a deep breath and almost instantly pass into the trance state. An attendant would then read out the name and location of the person who needed healing, and specify his or her symptoms. The trance personality, then, dictated the diagnosis and treatment, which was written down by the attendant. Cayce did not even have to be physically present in the same room as his patient. All he needed was the name and location of the person, and he could track him down in the trance state. When a mistake was made in the house number, Cayce reported that the patient was not there.
Two things were important for obtaining an effective reading; the attendant must not move away from the sleeping body during the trance, and at the end of the reading he must give the suggestion to the body to awaken.
Cayce had no waking knowledge at all of the astonishing things he said during the trance. When he read the stenographic transcripts after a reading, “the stuff amazed him”. He had schooling till the eighth grade, and knew nothing of medicine, anatomy, chemistry, physics, occultism or metaphysics until his trance communications brought him into touch with these subjects. Most people came to him after all other methods of treatment had failed. He was their last resort. In spite of handling such critical cases, Cayce’s remedies were always effective when they were rigorously followed. His biographer Thomas Sugrue assures us that, “there are hundreds of people throughout the United States who will testify, at the drop of a hat, to the accuracy of his diagnoses and the efficacy of his suggestions for treatment.”[1]
Cayce also gave a number of prophetic readings about the coming earth changes and the return of the Messiah. Many people tend to think that the timelines for the predicted events have already passed, and, therefore, his readings were off the mark. But, when I looked into the relevant readings a bit more closely, it became apparent to me that, not only are the prophesied dates yet to pass, they give us dire warnings of a devastating cometary apocalypse set to occur in the near future, which will change our world beyond recognition.
In one of his readings, Cayce had said that the earth changes will begin to manifest from 1998 onwards, as we continue to move towards the Age of Aquarius as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. However, the changes during this period will not be cataclysmic, but will rather manifest in a gradual manner. In another reading, he said that the primary drivers of the changes manifesting in 1998 will be the “breaking up of some conditions in the South Pacific and Mediterranean region.”
“In 1998 we may find a great deal of the activities as have been wrought by the gradual changes that are coming about. These are at the periods when the cycle of the solar activity, or the years as related to the sun’s passage through the various spheres of activity become paramount to the change between the Piscean and Aquarian age. This is a gradual, not a cataclysmic activity in the experience of the earth in this period.” (Reading 1602-3)
“(Q) How soon will the changes in the Earth's activity begin to be apparent? (A) When there is the first breaking up of some conditions in the South Sea (that's South Pacific), and those as apparent in the sinking or rising of that that's almost opposite same, or in the Mediterranean, and the Aetna area, then we may know it has begun. (Reading 311-8, April 9, 1932)”
I was curious if any specific climatic event had occurred in 1998 as Cayce had prophesied. And indeed, something quite strange and out of the ordinary had indeed transpired that year, although this is not something that is widely known or talked about.
There was a steep jump in the earth’s average surface temperature in 1998, as a result of which 1998 became the warmest year on record (till that year, of course). Now, this is not surprising in itself, considering that new temperature records are being created almost every year, and 1998 was the 20th year in a row that the globe's surface was warmer than its recent long-term average, which is the average for 1961 through 1990.
What took scientists by surprise was the margin by which the temperature had increased in 1998. It was the “largest one-year jump”[2] in global average surface temperature on record. An article published in NYT in December 1998, states that,
“According to the new figures, the average global temperature this year will turn out to be about 58 degrees, a full degree warmer than the 1961-1990 average. “This number's amazing,” said Dr. Philip D. Jones, a climatologist at the University of East Anglia in England, speaking of a field in which records are normally set in fractions.”[3]
But, what was it that had caused the average global temperatures to suddenly shoot up in 1998? Scientists believe that the El Nino phenomenon was to blame. As per the NYT article,
“The reason, they said, is that a fair measure of the warming in 1998 can be attributed to the effects earlier in the year of El Nino, the extensive pool of warm water that develops from time to time in the tropical Pacific. It both warms the global atmosphere and disrupts worldwide weather patterns.”
So, it was an El Nino effect that had caused the single largest one year jump in average surface temperatures in 1998. But, what exactly is the El Nino, some of us might wonder. This is what the NOAA tells us:
“During normal conditions in the Pacific Ocean, trade winds blow west along the equator, taking warm water from South America towards Asia. To replace that warm water, cold water rises from the depths — a process called upwelling. El Niño and La Niña are two opposing climate patterns that break these normal conditions. Scientists call these phenomena the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) cycle… During El Niño, trade winds weaken. Warm water is pushed back east, toward the west coast of the Americas.”[4]
In other words, a “breaking up” of the normal conditions in the Southern Pacific Ocean causes the trade winds to weaken. Scientists don’t really know why the trade winds weaken and why El Niño and La Niña events appear to occur every two to seven years, on average. There is so little we actually know about the drivers of the short-term and long-term fluctuations of climate on our planet. We are literally scratching the tip of the climatic iceberg.
I think Cayce’s prediction about 1998 was right on the money, for not only did we have the “single largest one-year jump” in global average surface temperatures in 1998, it had occurred due to a “breaking up of some conditions in the Pacific Ocean,” exactly as he had prophesied. With that in mind, let’s move on to some of the more frightening prophecies for the future that he had uttered in his trance-like state.
In the following readings, Cayce tells us of catastrophic earth changes that will occur in the year '36, which will be accompanied by the much-awaited return of the Messiah.
“(Q) How long before this (i.e. the earth changes) will begin? (A) The indications are that some of these have already begun, yet others would say these are only temporary. We would say they have begun. '36 will see the greater changes apparent, to be sure.” (Reading 311-8, April 9, 1932)
“The catastrophes of outside forces to the earth in ’36 will come from the shifting of the equilibrium of the earth itself in space, with those consequential effects upon the various portions of the country-or world-affected by same.” (Reading 3976-10, August 2, 1932)
“As to the material changes that are to be as an omen, as a sign to those that this is shortly to come to pass-as has been given of old, the sun will be darkened and the earth shall be broken up in diverse places-and then shall be proclaimed-through the spiritual interception in the hearts and minds and souls of those that have sought His way - that His star has appeared, and will point the way for those that enter into the holy of holies in themselves. For, God the Father, God the Teacher, God the director, in the minds and hearts of men, must ever be in those that come to know Him as first and foremost in the seeking of those souls; for He is first the god to the individual and as He is exemplified, as He is manifested in the heart and in the acts of the body, of the individual, He becomes manifested before men. And those that seek in the latter portion of the year of our Lord (as ye have counted in and among men) ’36, He will appear.” (Reading 3976-15, January 19, 1934)
In all of these readings, Cayce refers to the year ’36 as the time of “apocalyptic earth changes” and the return of the Savior or Avatar. But, what did he really mean by the year ’36? Most scholars of the 20th century assumed that the year ’36 refers to 1936, and, on the basis of that assumption, they had no difficulty in arriving at the conclusion that Cayce had either mentioned this date by mistake, or had got it flat-out wrong.
But, if you come to think of it, why would Cayce – sitting in the year 1934 - make predictions about the arrival of the Messiah just two years later in 1936, when he had, in fact, gone on to make a set of stunningly accurate predictions about the Second World War? If the Messiah’s arrival was scheduled for 1936, there should have been no question of further global conflicts beyond that point. It helps to remember that, even though Cayce’s readings were spread apart by many years, there was a striking internal consistency across the readings. He – or rather, his trance personality - hardly ever contradicted himself on any matter.
What if, it wasn’t the year 1936 that Cayce was talking about, but the year 2036, exactly one century later? If the gradual earth changes were to begin in 1998, then it is most logical to believe that Cayce was referring to the year 2036 as the time of epochal changes.
Let’s take stock of what Cayce had said might transpire in that year. He said that the Earth's changes in 2036 will be initiated by “outside forces”, which will disturb the “equilibrium of the earth itself in space”, and, as a result, “the sun will be darkened and the earth shall be broken up in diverse places”, which will be followed by the appearance of “His star”. I think it is quite evident that these events can only be caused by a set of devastating comet and meteor impacts. Cometary bombardments can disturb the equilibrium of the earth in space, meteor dust can block out the sun, and impact events can cause the continental shelves to shatter. The appearance “His star” in the heavens could mean that a particularly effulgent comet will become visible to us, which serves as the “messenger” or “symbol” of the Savior.
In other words, all the indications of a cataclysmic cometary apocalypse in the year 2036 are contained in these readings. What’s even more intriguing is that, exactly in the year 2036, the Earth is scheduled to pass through the dense core of the Taurid meteor stream which contains a large number of colossal, dormant comets and full-size asteroids that have struck us in the past with devastating consequences.
While I have written about the Taurid comet swarm in the past, it is pertinent to touch upon some important points at this stage.
We know that the Earth experiences a number of meteor showers every year, in the course of its annual orbit around the sun. The meteor showers occur when the earth passes through a meteor stream that intersects its orbits. The meteor streams are “rivers of debris” left behind by a comet with an Earth-crossing orbit, and composed mainly of dust and pebbles.
The Taurid meteor stream is the largest stream of cosmic debris in the inner solar system. The Earth crosses the Taurid stream twice in the course of its orbit around the sun, once in summer (June-July) and once in late autumn (September to December). While most meteor streams contain small particles, not larger than a grain of sand or a pebble, the Taurid meteor stream contains some large chunks of rocks, which have struck the earth in the past. Astronomers believe that the Beta Taurids – which is the segment of the Taurid stream we cross in summer, having peak activity on June 29 - probably caused the Tunguska event of June 30, 1908, when a large meteor exploded over Eastern Siberia with the force of a 1000 Hiroshima nuclear bombs and flattened over 2000 square kilometers of forest.[5] The meteor is believed to have been about 120 feet across and weighed 100 million kilograms.
British astronomers Victor Clube and Bill Napier had postulated that the progenitor of the Taurid stream was a giant comet, around 50 - 100 km in diameter, which had entered the inner solar system at least 20,000 to 30,000 years ago. The comet was tossed into a short-term orbit around the Sun, and disintegrated in stages, leaving behind the trail of debris known as the Taurid meteor stream or Taurid Complex.[6]
The research carried out by Clube, Napier, Asher, Steel and their colleagues indicates that the giant progenitor comet of the Taurid meteor stream remains hidden in the center of the Taurids, moving within a tightly packed swarm consisting of several large comets formed by the fragmentation of the progenitor (all of which are in a dormant state), and dozens of full-size asteroids up to 1 km wide. This dense cluster of comets and asteroids within the Taurid meteor stream is called the “Taurid Resonant Swarm”.
Clube and Napier have argued that large chunks of rock from the Taurid Resonant Swarm have struck us many times within the historical timeframe when the earth passed through this dense swarm, and would continue to do so with catastrophic consequences in the future.

The faint Comet Encke, which is the only visible comet within the Taurid meteor stream today, orbits the Sun once in 3.3 years and could be a recently reactivated fragment of the Taurid progenitor comet. The Taurid Resonant Swarm is in an orbit similar to that of Comet Encke’s, moving around the sun in an Earth-crossing orbit every 3.3 years.
Napier had noted that at least 19 of the largest NEO’s (Near-Earth Objects) have orbits significantly close to that of Comet Encke, and are likely to be the remnants of the giant Taurid progenitor.[7]
Recently, astronomers Ignacio Ferrin and Vincenzo Orofino examined dozens of previously published papers and identified 88 new asteroids in the Taurid stream. Using the secular light curve technique, which looks for changes in each member’s brightness along its orbit, they found evidence of cometary activity in 67 percent of the 51 new Taurid members they had good data on. The orbital alignment of these 88 bodies with Comet Encke, and the signs of outgassing, indicate that they have cometary origin, most likely from the fragmentation of the Taurid progenitor.[8]
In an article in National Geographic, Australian astronomer Duncan Steel provided a specific estimate of the periodicity of the impact events triggered by the Taurid swarm:
“Every 2,500 to 3,000 years or so, the core of the Taurid stream passes near Earth and produces much more intense meteor showers for a few centuries, said Steel. A gap of a few centuries separates the era of intensity between Northern Taurids and Southern Taurids.”[9]
This is a significant observation from the perspective of the Yuga Cycle doctrine. The periodicity of the impacts triggered by the Taurid Resonant Swarm appears to be synchronized with the cataclysmic periods of transition between the Yugas, which last for roughly 300 years and are spaced apart by 2700 years.
Quite shockingly, the possibility of a direct encounter with the swarm is quite close at hand. Astronomers Victor Clube and David Asher had published a paper in the Quarterly Journal of the Royal Astronomical Society, in which they said that, as per their computations, the earth will pass directly through the center of the Taurid Resonant Swarm in the years 2032 and 2036.[10]
The 2036 encounter with the Taurid Resonant Swarm will be in June when the earth will pass through the Beta Taurids. This is the part of the stream which is believed to contain many large Tunguska-scale objects. These two head-on collisions with the Taurid Resonant Swarm could set off a chain of global catastrophes leading to the collapse of our civilization.
Now we can understand why Edgar Cayce made a number of apocalyptic predictions for the year 2036, with clear insinuations of comet impacts. In all probability, he was referring to the head-on collision of the Earth with the Taurid Resonant Swarm in the year 2036. It appears that modern science is finally catching up with the wisdom of the ancients and the essential truth contained in the eschatological texts and the prophecies of Cayce.
Cayce also prophesied that the Earth changes will continue to occur even after the return of the Messiah, and the geology and climate of our planet will be fundamentally re-organized. In the reading given in January 1934, that I had referred to earlier, Cayce had prophesied that a massive restructuring of the continents would occur from the years ’58 to ’98, which, we can be quite certain, refers to the time period from 2058 to 2098.
“As to the changes physical again: The earth will be broken up in the western portion of America. The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea. The upper portion of Europe will be changed as in the twinkling of an eye. Land will appear off the east coast of America. There will be the upheavals in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will make for the eruption of volcanoes in the Torrid areas, and there will be shifting then of the poles - so that where there has been those of a frigid or the semi-tropical will become the more tropical, and moss and fern will grow. And these will begin in those periods in '58 to '98, when these will be proclaimed as the periods when His light will be seen again in the clouds. As to times, as to seasons, as to places, ALONE is it given to those who have named the name - and who bear the mark of those of His calling and His election in their bodies. To them it shall be given.” (Reading 3976-15, January 19, 1934)
Cayce’s prophesies for the massive geological re-organization of the earth, beginning in the period from 2058 to 2098, is aligned with the Yuga Cycle formulation that I have presented in my book YUGA SHIFT. As per the timeline shown below, the end of the Kali Yuga in 2025 will be followed by a 1200-year-long period of transition called Ekpyrosis, a Greek term meaning “conflagration”, when the earth will be cleansed and purified by means of fire, before the ascending Yuga Cycle begins.

The ascending and descending cycles of consciousness are spaced apart by two 1200-year periods of purification which the Greek philosophers called Kataklysmos and Ekpyrosis. Kataklysmos, meaning, “Deluge”, is the “great winter” of the Great Year, when the earth is inundated by water, at the end of the Golden Age or Satya Yuga. Ekpyrosis, meaning “conflagration”, is the “great summer” of the Great Year, when the world is destroyed by fire after the completion of the Kali Yuga or Iron Age.
The period of Kataklysmos corresponds to the long period of freezing temperatures called the Younger Dryas, which extended for nearly 1200 years from 10,900 BCE - 9700 BCE. During this time, global temperatures had plummeted by nearly 10 - 15°C to near-glacial conditions and the glaciers had advanced to their Ice Age positions.
In 2007, a team of international scientists led by Richard B. Firestone found compelling evidence that that the earth was bombarded by multiple fragments of a giant disintegrating comet nearly 12,900 years ago, (c.10,900 BCE) which destabilized the Laurentide Ice Sheet and triggered the Younger Dryas cooling. The shock waves and biomass burning generated by this catastrophic impact even led to the extinction of 35 genera of North American Pleistocene megafauna, and ended the prehistoric Clovis culture.[11] A dense, carbon-rich, black layer, called the “black mat” was deposited over the bones of the extinct megafauna and the Clovis artifacts at more than 50 sites across North America. The black mat contains evidence of biomass burning and impact proxies such as elevated levels of Iridium, and its thickness spans the entire Younger Dryas cooling period from c.10, 900 – 9,700 BCE. This suggests that impact events must have continued to occur throughout the entire Younger Dryas period!
The end of Kali Yuga in 2025 will also be followed by an extended period of cataclysmic activity called Ekpyrosis, or the “great summer” of the Great Year, for nearly 1200 years. In other words, post 2025, it will be the Younger Dryas period all over again; except that, this time the cleansing will be by fire, and not by ice and water. We can reasonably expect that the chain of comets that caused the Younger Dryas cataclysms will return to cleanse and purify our world of all the toxic chemicals that humanity has dumped on it over the past few thousand years. They could be responsible for the dramatic earth changes that Cayce had prophesied would begin between 2058 and 2098.
There are direct references to the upcoming period of Ekpyrosis in many end-time prophecies. For instance, the Kalachakra Tantra prophecy tells us that, after the divine Savior Rudra Chakrin destroys the evil forces in an apocalyptic battle, he will bestow “the “perfect age” for at least “a thousand years”, during which time, “the whole world will turn into Shambhala with no sickness or poverty, and no need to work to earn a living.”[12]
This dovetails with Revelation, according to which, after his Second Coming, Christ will reign for a “thousand years” along with the resurrected holy men.[13] Both these prophecies appear to be telling us about the 1200-year period of transition called Ekpyrosis which will follow the Kali Yuga, before the ascending Yuga Cycle begins.
Even though the 1200-year period of Ekpyrosis will be a time of significant earth changes and periodic comet impacts, it will be an amazing time to live for the survivors of the impending apocalyptic events which, it appears, will culminate in the year 2036. Our planet will be cleansed, healed and renewed and a new, divine energy will course through our bodies, activating our dormant chakra centers and subtle mental abilities. As a result, the people of that period are likely to experience powerful feelings of bliss, connectedness and expanded awareness that are inconceivable today. The interdimensional doorways are likely to open up, and the survivors will learn of new ways of living that promote peace, truth, justice and harmony. These small bands of survivors, who may live in isolated settlements across the world, will establish the foundations of a new civilization that will eventually grow into the enlightened societies of the ascending Yuga Cycle. Het gaat niet alleen om het einde van de wereld Veel mensen geloven dat het boek Openbaring slechts een apocalyptisch verslag is van wat er gaat komen. Maar de auteur van het boek, Johannes, was eigenlijk meer bezig met de wederkomst van Christus.
Het gaat niet alleen om het einde van de wereld In 70 n.Chr. maakte Johannes een tragische episode in de geschiedenis mee, toen de Romeinen Jeruzalem zo goed als verwoestten. Jezus moest terugkeren om de Romeinen te laten boeten voor zijn dood en de vervolging van christenen.
Het gaat niet alleen om het einde van de wereld Door dit soort anti-Romeinse propaganda bleven christenen geloven dat hun heer en verlosser nog tijdens hun leven zou terugkeren. Het was daarmee eigenlijk een perfecte manier om christenen te motiveren christen te blijven.
De apocalypse zou het script van een horrorfilm kunnen zijn Sommige delen van het boek Openbaring zijn extreem gewelddadig. Dit geldt in het bijzonder voor de apocalyps. Dat begint met de vier ruiters van de apocalyps. De paarden waarop ze reden om precies te zijn.
De vier ruiters van de apocalyps Openbaring 9:17-19 biedt enig inzicht in hoe deze 'paarden' eruit zagen: 'De koppen van de paarden leken op de koppen van leeuwen, en uit hun mond kwam vuur, rook en zwavel.'
De vier ruiters van de apocalyps 'De kracht van de paarden zat in hun monden en in hun staarten; want hun staarten waren als slangen, met koppen waarmee ze verwondingen toebrachten.'
De mensheid komt er slecht vanaf Ze worden levend gekookt door de zon, worden getroffen door gigantische hagelstenen, en dan wordt de zon zwart en verandert de maan in bloed. Oh ja, de sterren vallen ook nog uit de lucht en als klap op de vuurpijl komt er nog een aardbeving.
Het wordt nog gekker Er komen ook nog sprinkhanen wier 'gezichten op menselijke gezichten lijken. Hun haar is als vrouwenhaar en hun tanden zijn als leeuwentanden.' Ze hebben ook een angel als schorpioenen, maar mogen niemand doden. In plaats daarvan zullen ze mensen vijf maanden lang martelen.
Openbaring heeft de Bijbel gehaald dankzij één man Het duurde een paar jaar voordat de Bijbel werd samengesteld. Onder de vele beschouwde boeken zat het boek Openbaring. Athanasius was een van de meest invloedrijke priesters in het proces.
Openbaring heeft de Bijbel gehaald dankzij één man Terwijl veel andere geleerden en priesters Openbaring verwierpen, zag Athanasius het als een krachtig wapen om te gebruiken tegen iedereen die zich tegen de kerk wilde afzetten. Ondanks dat hij tijdens zijn carrière als bisschop vijf keer werd afgezet en verbannen, was zijn visie geloofwaardig genoeg om het boek in het Nieuwe Testament op te nemen.
Wie heeft het boek Openbaring geschreven? Er is enige discussie over welke Johannes eigenlijk Openbaring heeft geschreven. Er zijn namelijk vijf mannen met de naam Johannes in de Bijbel, een van hen was de apostel van Jezus en de auteur van een van de evangeliën.
Wie heeft het boek Openbaring geschreven? Een andere theorie is dat de schrijver van het boek 'Johannes' en het boek Openbaring dezelfde zijn. Maar niet iedereen deelt die mening.
Dus wie schreef Openbaring nu? De apostel Johannes noemt meerdere keren zijn eigen naam in zijn boek, maar dat doet hij niet in Openbaring. Daarom wordt verondersteld dat Openbaring niet van zijn hand kan zijn.
Dus wie schreef Openbaring nu? Beide auteurs verwijzen naar Jezus als het lam, maar ze gebruiken verschillende Griekse woorden voor het dier. Bovendien is het Grieks zelf op een veel betere manier geschreven door de Johannes apostel, terwijl de auteur van Openbaring geen moedertaalspreker lijkt te zijn.
De schrijver was geen doorsnee christen Het christendom was destijds verdeeld in vele facties, en Johannes was waarschijnlijk een Jood die Jezus als de Joodse Messias zag.
De harde mening van Johannes De schrijver geeft in het boek talloze tips. Hij was er bijvoorbeeld geen voorstander van dat heidenen (niet-joden) volgelingen van Jezus zouden worden zonder de regels te volgen die in de Thora zijn uiteengezet.
De harde mening van Johannes Johannes was ook bepaald geen fan van kerken die heidenen accepteerden, en noemde een daarvan zelfs een 'synagoge van Satan'.
666 heeft niets met Satan te maken De meesten van ons associëren het getal 666 met de duivel. Maar Openbaring 13:18 luidt: 'Dit vraagt om wijsheid. Laat de persoon die inzicht heeft het getal van het beest berekenen, want het is het getal van een mens. Dat aantal is 666.'
666 heeft niets met Satan te maken Maar dit is niet het getal van de duivel. Het is in feite het getal van een persoon, zoals beschreven in Openbaring. Geleerden geloven dat de persoon keizer Nero is.
Hoe is de berekening gemaakt? Dit werd verkregen met behulp van de Hebreeuwse numerologie van gematria (een Joodse vorm van numerologie die waarden toekent aan letters).
Waarom Nero? Nero was extreem gemeen tegen christenen. Hij zag ze het liefst levend verbranden. Dus hij was een uitstekende kandidaat voor de titel van het beest.
En hoe zit het met het merkteken van het beest? Het merkteken van het beest dat in Openbaring 13:16-17 wordt genoemd, wordt verondersteld een verwijzing te zijn naar Romeinse munten of keizerlijke postzegels.
Toen de dag des oordeels uitbleef Er zijn talloze mislukte voorspellingen van de apocalyps op basis van Openbaring geweest. Zo beweerde de Schotse wiskundige John Napier dat de wereld zou eindigen in 1688 of 1700.
Mislukte voorspellingen Maar er zijn ook modernere voorbeelden, zoals de Branch Davidiaanse sekte. De leden daarvan stierven in 1993 op tragische wijze in wat bekend werd als het bloedbad van Waco in Texas. Meer recentelijk zat complottheoreticus David Meade er ook naast. Hij dacht dat het einde der tijden in 2017 of 2018 zou komen
Er zijn meer apocalyptische boeken Er zijn andere Joodse apocalyptische geschriften. IV (4) Ezra, ook bekend als de Apocalyps van Esdras, geeft het boek Openbaring een run voor zijn geld.

Openbaring beïnvloedde het Midden-Oostenbeleid van Amerika Evangelicalen hebben een grote invloed in de Amerikaanse politiek en velen zien de staat Israël als onderdeel van de profetie die in Openbaring is uiteengezet. Voordat Jezus terugkeert, moeten Joodse mensen terugkeren naar Israël en bijgevolg Christus als hun verlosser aanvaarden.
Verschillende interpretatie van gebeurtenissen Het preterisme beschouwt de gebeurtenissen in Openbaring als iets dat al was gebeurd toen het werd geschreven. Dit zou ergens tussen het moment dat Johannes de Doper de boodschap bracht en de val van Jeruzalem in 70 n.Chr. zijn gebeurd.
Off the Central California coast near Big Sur, a massive field of seafloor holes spans an area roughly the size of Los Angeles, the origins of which have long perplexed researchers.
The unusual formations, known as pockmarks, date to prehistoric times and were long theorized to represent areas where methane gas eruptions have occurred over time, helping the depressions maintain their characteristic shape and appearance.
Now, research completed by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), the U.S. Geological Survey, and Stanford University has upended the previously held notion that these unusual depressions are maintained by methane activity and instead are preserved by sediment flows.
The new findings provide significant new data that could assist with seafloor management, particularly in areas that could become the future home of offshore wind farms.
A new study detailing the research team’s work, which appeared in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, details their analysis of the Sur Pockmark Field on the lower continental slope off the coast of Big Sur, where close to 5,200 circular depressions exist.
Initially discovered during EM-300 multi-beam bathymetric surveys, the pockmarks, each close to 200 meters wide and five meters deep, were once believed to have been formed by pockets of methane gas emitted from the ocean floor, resulting in the large crater-like formations.
If methane were indeed capable of disturbing the seafloor in this way, it could potentially represent problems for utilizing areas off the Central California coast for offshore wind farms since seafloor stability would naturally come into question. However, past studies have already shown that there was no present-day indication of fluid or gas venting that occurred within these depressions, although their sedimentology indicated that they were likely to have formed more than 45,000 years ago.
With the help of underwater robots provided by MBARI, the researchers produced detailed new maps of the Sur Pockmark Field. Deploying autonomous underwater vehicles, or AUVs, capable of obtaining high-resolution terrain visualizations and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to collect sediment samples, the researchers were able to peer back in time at the history of the formation of the pockmarks, which revealed a few surprises.

Of key significance, the data the research team collected revealed no evidence of methane in the area, instead pointing to the sedimentary processes occurring in the area as the driving force behind the pockmarks.
Sediment gravity flows, which the researchers liken to underwater avalanches, instead appear to be the culprits behind these unusual seafloor holes, which have shaped them over hundreds of thousands of years.
“While some pockmarks occur in chains, most are not clustered or randomly spaced but are regularly dispersed within the pockmark field,” the researchers write in their new study.
“We hypothesize that intermittent, unconfined sediment gravity flows occurring over at least the last 280,000 years are the source of the regionally continuous turbidite deposits and the mechanism that maintained the regularly dispersed pockmarks,” the researchers conclude.
The new findings provide a more complete understanding of the sedimentary processes off the California coast and how the stability of infrastructure like turbine anchors can be maintained in the future as the critical need for new green energy sources continues to rise amid increased occurrences of severe weather events.
Additionally, the research will aid in the future management of offshore developments, in addition to contributing to better seafloor management through an increased understanding of the implications of such operations on the environment.
MBARI Senior Research Technician Eve Lundsten, who led the research, said there is still much work to be done and that many unresolved questions remain about the processes occurring on the seafloor.
“We were unable to determine exactly how these pockmarks were initially formed, but with MBARI’s advanced underwater technology, we’ve gained new insight into how and why these features have persisted on the seafloor for hundreds of thousands of years,” Lundsten said in a statement.
“This research provides important data about the seafloor for resource managers and others considering potential offshore sites for underwater infrastructure to guide their decision-making,” Lundsten said.
Lundsten and her colleagues’ findings not only shift the narrative on how these underwater features are maintained but also significantly reinforce the need for continued marine research to guide future offshore development and environmental stewardship.
Much is being written today about the disruptive impact of drones in modern warfare. Rightly so, because these small, inexpensive, and highly capable devices are transforming military operations. They are accurate and effective; hard to identify or intercept; and can be operated with minimal infrastructure or training. A single soldier today can operate an eye in the sky or conduct his own bombing mission. As we are seeing in Russia and Ukraine, new drone uses, applications, and capabilities are rapidly advancing while the defense struggles to catch up.
It is therefore not surprising to see footage of fallen soldiers and destroyed armored vehicles that succumbed to drone attacks. Even the mighty Russian Black Sea Fleet, a massive investment of resources and manpower, has suffered humiliating defeats and been neutralized by a relatively tiny investment in guided missiles and small drone watercraft packed with explosives.
Although the effects on the battlefield are profound, they are also being felt far from the front lines. St. Petersburg and Moscow, hundreds of miles from the Ukrainian border, have both suffered drone attacks. Iranian drones are also helping to throttle shipping through the Red Sea and were responsible for the recent deaths of 3 U.S. soldiers in Jordan. They are even being used as tools of assassination by drug cartels in Latin America.
Meanwhile, manufacturers and nation states are working feverishly under wartime pressure to increase the range, lethality, and defensive capabilities of these small, unmanned vehicles. Advances in artificial intelligence will soon enable swarms of drones to operate in a highly sophisticated and completely autonomous manner. At some point they will become “fire and forget” systems, with no control signals to jam, making the threat more daunting than it already is. They’ll also be able to do things like land and hide until conditions change before resuming their mission or spread out and attack a target from multiple directions simultaneously, making them even more difficult to defend against. For all these reasons, there is an urgent need to develop and deploy effective drone countermeasures.
What Americans do not yet realize is the shocking extent to which unmanned aircraft of unknown origin are already penetrating restricted airspace and disrupting military operations here in the United States. The situation is so bad that fighter aircraft from Langley Air Force Base were relocated last December due to the collision hazards presented by recurring drone incursions that the Air Force proved unable to stop. This is only the latest instance of Air Force or Navy training activities being disrupted by the presence of unidentified aircraft. The continuing inability of our military to control or defend its own airspace should shock and concern policymakers and the public. After all, if the Air Force and Navy can’t defend the airspace around their own bases, how can they defend the rest of the country?
The cases discussed below involve persistent and sophisticated incursions into government airspace by drones, or what the military calls Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)1, operating in a coordinated manner. This includes drones able to follow warships at sea for hours in foggy weather, a performance that far exceeds the range and duration of civilian drones. Other unmanned aerial systems have been observed by U.S. fighter aircraft operating in military airspace as high as 35,000 feet, although the legal limit for civilian drones is only 400 ft. In some cases, these small craft are using spotlights to illuminate and probably photograph sensitive military systems. To date, they have proven impervious to U.S. anti-drone technologies. Our government has had no success in determining where they are coming from or who is operating them. It is also surprising that not a single one has malfunctioned and been recovered despite extensive operations by large numbers of them over extended periods of time. Although the well-documented cases below are adequate to illustrate the problem, they are only a small fraction of the total number of reports of unmanned aircraft violating restricted U.S. military airspace.
The worrisome pattern discussed below was first identified by two extraordinary investigative journalists, Tyler Rogoway and Joseph Trevithnick, writing for The War Zone. Both have been doing their best for years to draw attention to the growing mismatch between U.S. air defense capabilities and the threat posed by UAS. Their work in turn has heavily benefited from the results of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests submitted by UAP researcher Douglas Johnson. Most of the information below is derived from the work of these three individuals. My hope is that aggregating the data will help readers better appreciate the urgency and extent of the problem. In each case below, other than the Customs and Border Patrol Videos, an associated War Zone article is accessible through an embedded link in the underscored sub-heading title (e.g. “Guam 2019).” Even if you are only skimming, I urge you to briefly click on these links to get a better sense of how serious and well-documented these incidents are.
Those interested in doing some research on their own may want to peruse FAA data or the data made available by the Office of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), although AARO’s data is not clearly presented or easily parsed.
From late February to early March of 2019, unidentified UAS with bright spotlights made recurring incursions over Andersen Air Force Base, one of America’s most important military facilities in the Indo-Pacific. The aircraft seemed especially interested in the newly installed THAAD anti-ballistic missile system. They were observed hovering above it and shining bright lights down on it, perhaps to facilitate video imagery of the system. The THAAD system is obviously of keen interest to the People’s Republic of China. In fact, the introduction of a THAAD anti-missile system into South Korea in 2016 led to Chinese diplomatic protests and restrictions on South Korean trade and cultural imports. If China was operating these drones (as seems likely) this is far more concerning than a balloon drifting at 60,000 feet because in the event of conflict they could neutralize Guam’s primary defense against incoming Chinese ballistic missiles. North Korea, which also has ballistic missiles thought to be capable of reaching Guam, is another potential source of these intrusions.
Also in 2019, U.S. Navy ships off the coast of California began reporting incidents of surveillance by mysterious, small, brightly lit UAS, presumably some kind of advanced drones. They were able to operate in adverse conditions with low visibility, following U.S. warships for hours. The article at the link above describes some of the initial incidents. There have been other similar incidents since that time involving many other U.S. Navy warships. These reportedly include the USS Kearsarge, USS Russell, and USS Omaha. Here is an excerpt from one of 35 reports obtained by The War Zone involving these incidents:
“PHM [USS Paul Hamilton] observed four UAS with a CPA [closest point of approach] approximately 200 yds off the bow, port and starboard beams. The UASs had an on station time of approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes. The first UAS was spotted by lookouts at 0240L. observed with a single, solid white light off the port bow. At 0326L as PHM turned to course 180T, a second UAS was observed flashing the bow and bridge of PHM with what appeared to be a searchlight or photographic device. UAS closed to within 500 yds of PHM, repeatedly maneuvering aft to fwd. At 0330L, a UAS with four white lights and a flashing red light hovered approximately 200 yds above PHM and maneuvered from aft to forward. At 0332L, another UAS hovered with no lights approximately 300-500 yds off the bow of PHM and once again shined the bow and bridge with what appeared to be a searchlight or photographic device. PHM proceeded east after which the UAS maneuvered to match PHM course and speed, before departing the area to PHM's port side. UASs sighted in immediate vicinity of PHM from 0240L until 0530L. Point of origin of all UASs is unknown. UASs were observed visually, with optical sighting system, and night vision goggles. Three UASs were identified visually as quadcopters.”
After analysis of similar events off both the East and West coasts of the U.S., the Defense Department expressed reasonable confidence that in both cases the small airborne objects were drones. As usual, DoD and the IC still do not seem to know where they originated, who is operating them, or for what purpose.
September of 2019 was also a busy time for UAS reportedly swarming around the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant. Notably, in this case as in many others cited here, the drones had flashing red and white lights. Again, these drones flew without hindrance or restriction and no identification was made.
This is an exceptionally strange case because the UAS activity continued not for days or weeks, but months, in a remote rural region near U.S. nuclear missile weapons silos (the Air Force maintains these ICBM bases were not intruded upon). The occurrences were so frequent that local farmers and ranchers became very vocal in demanding answers. They were also notable because of the number of drones (sometimes 40 in a single group). This led to the formation of a task force involving the military, FBI, DHS, and local law enforcement. The State of Colorado even dispatched a reconnaissance aircraft fitted with infrared sensors to assist the search, all to no avail. Yet, despite these efforts and the small population of this remote rural region where strangers easily stand out, once again no UAS operators were identified, and no drones were recovered.
During the course of these events, I made contact with a Sheriff’s Deputy in rural western Nebraska who recounted a curious incident. While responding to a call from a farmer reporting drones over his land, the Deputy stopped and pulled his truck to the side of the road for a better view. He and the Sheriff (at a different location) saw the swarm of drone lights. Then, a larger brightly lit object came into view. The smaller UAS soon disappeared inside it, after which the “mother ship” took off at an astonishing speed, passing almost directly over his truck. He said he’s never seen anything move that fast. I asked if law enforcement had made any effort to identify the UAS operators. He told me the Sheriff’s Department had stopped and searched vans and trucks but found no evidence of anyone operating these enigmatic drones. The Deputy was not alone as official documentation reveals several other officials also reporting what they described as “mother ships.”
Once again, by reviewing FAA records and using the FOIA process to obtain Air Force safety reports, War Zone reporters identified a cluster of significant intrusions of restricted military airspace in Arizona. FAA records show a wide range of reports of unmanned vehicles from both military and civilian pilots, some operating in groups and some at altitudes over 30,000 ft., vastly higher than the maximum altitude of recreational drones. The military likely has other reports that went to AARO and are not part of the FAA’s unclassified reporting system.
Last December, mysterious, brightly lit drones began appearing over Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. As the intrusions continued, security was enhanced, and fighter aircraft patrols were launched. When these efforts failed to identify or deter the drones, an aircraft with special sensors was borrowed from NASA– All to no avail as flagrant intrusions by the brightly lit craft continued for weeks. These intrusions were so extensive and persistent that fighter aircraft were relocated from Langley to other air bases. To date, the Air Force still does not know who was operating these drones, where they originated, or why they were flying over the Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base for several weeks in December.
Ironically, one of Langley’s missions is to help secure the airspace over the National Capital Region. If Langley AFB cannot protect its own airspace, how can it protect the nation’s capital?
If the recent incidents at Langley AFB were a singular event, it would be easier to understand the lack of discussion by the press, Congress, or the Department of Defense. After all, it takes time to process new information and time for the enormous wheels of government to turn. Unfortunately, as demonstrated above, the events at Langley are merely the latest in a string of incidents in recent years involving small UAS operating with impunity in U.S. military airspace.
To its credit, Customs and Border Patrol posted a number of UAS videos they acquired while conducting border surveillance and running counter-narcotics operations. These official videos provide yet more evidence of strange unidentified UAS operating in U.S. airspace. In one of these incidents, a strange UAS flying was filmed following an Air Force A-10 Warthog. In other cases, police jet ranger helicopters were outmaneuvered and outrun by sophisticated, unidentified drones.

Conclusions, Unanswered Questions, and a Solution
Our lack of preparedness to defend against this rapidly evolving threat is disturbing but not altogether surprising. After all, just last year NORAD and the Air Force were completely blindsided by China’s use of high-altitude balloons for strategic surveillance. Similarly, the tragic events of September 11th, 2001, revealed the Air Force had no plans to deal with the hijacked civilian airliners. That scenario was not something our enormous bureaucracy had considered or prepared for. However, as bad as it was, hijacked civilian jetliners were never going to sink the fleet or change the global balance of power. By contrast, if a potential adversary has developed the ability to fly through U.S. air defenses with impunity, we’ll soon find ourselves at a grave military disadvantage.
To date, the most unusual and concerning feature of these UAS is not their aeronautical capabilities but their seeming total immunity to U.S. counter-UAS technologies. In fact, rather than acting like furtive spy craft, these drones are flying brightly lit after dark, seemingly without concern for detection or U.S. countermeasures. Some are even brazenly using spotlights to illuminate and perhaps film U.S. military systems. This has happened not only on Guam but to Navy ships far out to sea and at least one nuclear power plant. Sometimes these UAS are shining spotlights right into the bridge of Navy warships, as though deliberately seeking to provoke a response. This behavior suggests that they are either trying to get our attention, trying to send a message, or they are utterly unconcerned by U.S. military countermeasures. Such lack of concern may be reasonable as nothing we have done to date has been effective. That’s right– we’ve not managed to capture, disable, track to its point of origin or identify any of these UAS. Nor do any seem to have malfunctioned, which is also extraordinary given the number of drones in these swarms (sometimes swarms of 40) and the number of incidents and their duration (hours at a time).
Although there are numerous cases where military operations have been disrupted, it seems doubtful the government itself knows the total number of such incidents in recent years. It also seems doubtful there is any single location in the government where all this information comes together. Perhaps AARO should become a fusion center for all unidentified vehicles, not just those demonstrating anomalous performance characteristics.
These incidents are certainly more troubling than a lumbering Chinese balloon that can be easily spotted and if necessary destroyed thousands of miles from our borders. Rather than floating uncontrolled at 60,000 feet, these mysterious UAS seem able to monitor military bases and training areas indefinitely at close range where they can collect granular intelligence. During wartime they might be able to inflict crippling damage to critical military systems and facilities or civilian targets. Anyone watching news coverage of the war in Ukraine realizes how grave a threat UAS are today. If these UAS prove to be Chinese or Russian, that would be alarming, but we’ll never know (until perhaps it is too late) if we don’t get serious about identifying the source of these intrusions and deploying effective countermeasures. In that regard, I was thrilled to see an op-ed in the Washington Post last week by the Chairman and Ranking members of the Senate Armed Services Committee discussing this issue, even if their article did not reflect an awareness of the full extent of the problem or suggest a solution.
This has been going on for far too long. I believe we should set about downing and recovering some of these drones ASAP to get the answers we need. We shot down a Chinese balloon operating at high altitude in civilian airspace last year and confirmed it was a Chinese spy platform engaged in intelligence collection. Isn’t it past time to get serious about recovering some of these drones as well?
Title 18 of the U.S. Code authorizes the use of deadly force to protect national security information. If we can shoot down a high-altitude balloon in civilian airspace, why can't we take down a drone shining lights directly down upon something as important and sensitive as the THAAD missile battery on a U.S. Air Force Base in Guam? This can surely be done without putting civilians or base personnel at risk. It might require nets or lasers or electronic warfare or missiles or a 12 gauge shotgun, but certainly we can find some effective means to protect our facilities, identify the perpetrators, and hold them accountable.
In conclusion, I am not suggesting America is under imminent threat of drone attacks. What I am saying is that we are clearly vulnerable, and like the unlocked cockpit doors on commercial aircraft prior to September 11th, 2001, that vulnerability will someday be tragically exploited if we fail to take corrective action. Now that we are aware of the problem, there is no excuse for inaction.
Although mysterious and unidentified, I will not be referring to these craft as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP) for several reasons. First, in most cases the objects are not demonstrating the radical capabilities that characterize UAP. Aside from a report related to me by a Deputy Sheriff in Nebraska, few of these cases allege instantaneous acceleration, hypersonic speeds without heat or noise signatures, low-observability, or trans-medium travel. Second, in some cases the observers explicitly describe these objects as “quadcopters” or “quadcopter-like.” I see no reason to doubt the witnesses. Finally, I want to avert the distracting and unproductive debates concerning jargon and definitions. It is crucial to bear in mind that as alarming as these reports are they are only a subset of a much larger pattern of mysterious and anomalous aircraft being reported by military personnel. The UAP challenge is critical as well and I’ve written much about it, but it is important for policymakers and the public to understand that in addition to hundreds of annual reports of UAP there is an alarming pattern of activity by what appear to be more conventional unmanned aircraft violating sensitive U.S. airspace.Recognizing this problem is crucial, but it is also critical to bear in mind that it is only one part of the much larger challenge of trying to effectively monitor and control U.S. airspace.
It has been ten years since a Malaysian Airlines flight vanished over the South China Sea. On March 8, 2014, flight MH370 disappeared from radar screens 38 minutes after takeoff while traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Several nations have conducted massive search operations in the years since, and several researchers have long tried to find the wreckage of missing aircraft.
A new study by Cardiff University researchers suggests that signals picked up by underwater microphones may be crucial for locating aircraft like MH370 when they crash into the ocean.
The findings have prompted the team to suggest additional research into the aircraft’s last known location and lay the groundwork for handling such situations.
Many people have recently devised theories and strategies to locate the plane. In March, a Texas-based company claimed they possessed scientific evidence pinpointing the ultimate location of the missing flight MH370.
The details of the Cardiff team’s research were published in the journal Scientific Reports.
Hydroacoustic clues for MH370
Hydrophone technology records discrete acoustic fingerprints from multiple points on the seabed, which propagate across great distances through the water in the event of violent ocean events like airplane crashes.

The study was conducted based on more than 100 hours of data recorded by hydrophones following ten past airplane crashes. One submarine disappearance was also examined for the study.
“Our analysis shows clear pressure signals from previous aircraft crashes were detected on hydrophones, even at distances exceeding 3,000km,” said Dr Usama Kadri, a Reader at Cardiff University’s School of Mathematics, in a statement.
In the case of MH370, official investigations concluded that the aircraft likely crashed near the 7th arc, the location of the last communication between the plane and INMARSAT.
The primary search area along the 7th arc is less than 1,242 miles (2,000 kilometers) from the hydroacoustic station at Cape Leeuwin, Australia, and there are no obstacles to filtering out signals.
However, within the timeframe and location proposed by the official search, only one relatively weak signal was identified. Researchers highlight that other signals might be related, requiring reassessing the official search.
“Further analysis and future research are therefore necessary to fully comprehend the detected signals and their implications for MH370’s disappearance,” said Kadri.
Enhancing signal analysis
Researchers suggest that officials should monitor the signals obtained at nearby hydroacoustic stations while conducting field tests along the 7th arc, such as controlled explosions or airguns.
According to the study, trials of this type, with energy levels comparable to that of MH370, might shed light on the whereabouts of the missing aircraft.
The trials would also contribute to the advancement of hydroacoustic technology as a resource that law enforcement may utilize to identify probable aircraft crash sites in the future.
Similar exercises were conducted during the search and rescue mission for the ARA San Juan, a submarine that disappeared off the coast of Argentina in 2017.
Researchers claim that this demonstrates that such methods are relatively straightforward and feasible. Applying these techniques could help determine the signal’s relevance to MH370 before embarking on another extensive search.
“If found to be related, this would significantly narrow down, almost pinpoint, the aircraft’s location. On the other hand, if the signals are found to be unrelated, it would indicate a need for authorities to reassess the time frame or location established by their official search efforts to date,” said Kadri.
Regrettably, the team has not been able to identify a signal with the certainty required to initiate a new search for the missing aircraft. “However, if the recommendations are followed by the appropriate authorities, we can assess the relevance of the observed signals, potentially shedding light on the location of MH370,” said Kadri.

Data analysis from the hydroacoustic stations of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization has unveiled distinctive pressure signals linked to aircraft crashes of varying sizes in the ocean. Notably, these signals were detected at distances ranging from two to five thousand kilometers, highlighting the efficacy of underwater acoustic technology in event identification and classification in marine environments.
In this study, we investigate the plausibility of an aircraft, such as Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 (MH370), crashing into the sea, leaving a discernible pressure signal at distant hydrophones.
Consequently, we focus on recordings obtained from the hydroacoustic monitoring stations located at Cape Leeuwin and Diego Garcia, within a few minutes of the last satellite ping on the 7th arc, associated with the assumed crash time and location.
Among the available data, only one relevant signal has emerged as a potential candidate, albeit recorded at a single station out of the two stations available.
To ensure a comprehensive analysis, we also examine the time frame and location of the airplane along its initial route. However, no corresponding signal was observed. Nevertheless, the findings in this study narrow down the range of possibilities and present a novel scientific approach to investigate such incidents.
These findings contribute to our understanding of acoustic signals associated with aircraft crashes at sea. They emphasize the potential for hydrophones to detect events even when the signal travels long distances through the land.
Ultimately, this research offers recommendations for conducting on-site experiments involving controlled explosions with energy levels similar to the impact of MH370 along the 7th arc. The aim is to encourage pertinent authorities to implement actions that could reveal insights into the destiny of MH370 specifically. Additionally, this initiative seeks to establish a comprehensive framework for addressing comparable incidents in the broader ocean context.

The most recent complete magnetic pole reversal, known as the Brunhes-Matuyama reversal, occurred approximately 780,000 years ago. During this event, Earth's magnetic poles switched places. These reversals are part of Earth's natural geomagnetic processes and occur irregularly over geological timescales.
However, there have been shorter, less complete shifts called geomagnetic excursions. One of the notable recent geomagnetic excursions is the Laschamp event, which occurred about 41,000 years ago. During this event, the magnetic field weakened significantly, and the poles nearly reversed before returning to their original configuration.
Now, Earth is currently undergoing a cyclical magnetic pole shift, known as a geomagnetic excursion. This movement has been accelerating in recent decades, particularly with the North Magnetic Pole rapid movement from the Canadian Arctic towards Russia, which poses a significant extinction threat to many species.
The weakening of Earth's magnetic field and the shifting of its magnetic poles are well-documented phenomena.
In 2000, NASA and geophysicists reported a 10% decline in the magnetic field's strength. By 2010, the European Space Agency's Magnetic Mission updated this figure to a 15% loss, noting an acceleration from a 5% loss per century to 5% per decade. By 2020, another 5% decline was recorded, and the 2023 interpolated value showed further acceleration. The initial 10% reduction took 150 years, but the next 10% occurred within just 20 years. If this acceleration continues, we could lose 5% of the magnetic field every five years.
We anticipate a 50% reduction in the magnetic field by the early 2030s, a level that could make our technological lifestyle unsustainable and lead to severe weather impacts. Around 2040, a full magnetic pole flip or geomagnetic excursion is expected, although this could occur a few years earlier or later.

The US Government signed a secret treaty with aliens to "mutually benefit each other", according to aUFO expert and filmmaker.
Researcher Mark Christopher Lee spoke exclusively to the Daily Star about the supposed treaty that some claim was signed by the US military under President Dwight Eisenhower and hidden within the infamous Majestic 12 UFO files.
Lee boldly claimed the idea of the government and extraterrestrial life working together wasn't the craziest of ideas and went further to admit he thought it was a real possibility – giving insight into unidentified submerged (underwater) objects as well as the better known UFO.
"In a mutually beneficial way the aliens need something that we've got, hence abductions and also cattle mutilations, and in return the military gets to back engineer their technology," he told us.

"There are rumours and legends regarding the lost continent of Atlantis now being and underwater alien USO base which leads me onto the recent sightings of USOs off the coast of Malibu, California, and the alleged location of an underground USO base as identified by Google Earth."
A YouTube conspirator claimed in 2017 this picture showed Atlantis' sunken "perimeter wall" and that perimeter walls were a fairly common way of protecting cities in the past, including the Italian capital Rome in 275AD.
The "city" found on Google Earth is almost a mile long and half a mile wide, but expert Lee said Google has now blurred out the images. "If it is an alien base does that mean that the aliens are in cahoots with Google? Or is it more likely that it is some secret US naval base they want to keep secret?," he questioned.

"Maybe they have developed some USO technology. I suspect there is a base there as there have been hundreds of USO sightings further up the coast at Catalina island in California, and I also suspect the US Government and the aliens are operating this jointly."
Lee added communication between humans and aliens would most likely happen using the mind, or telepathy. "Considering that we as humans only use a small part of the brain I guess this where we will end up evolving to," he said. "Which is why some believe the grey aliens that people have reported seeing are actually us in the future."
Scientists have solved the mystery of how a gaping hole nearly twice the size ofNew Jersey that formed in Antarctica's sea ice eight years ago.
The rare opening of ice free water, called a polynya, was first discovered in 1974 and remained for the following two years until the void eventually closed.
Scientists were again baffled in 2016 and 2017 when the polynya reappeared because of its vast size and distance from the coast - setting them on a hunt to uncover what was forming the hole.
Researchers at the University of Southampton have found that the cause was actually a combination of the ocean's water currents, wind and increasing levels of salt in the water that melted the sea ice.

The Weddell Polynya was first spotted in satellite observations during the mid-1970s.
After closing back up, and remaining that way for roughly 40 years, it has re-opened.

At its ‘polynya’ is a large ice-free area that develops in an otherwise frozen sea, and this particular formation is situated in the Weddell Sea, east of peak, the Weddell Polynya measured a staggering 80,000 square kilometers (roughly 31,000 square miles).

Scientists named the opening the Maud Rise polynya in the 1970s after the underwater mountain located beneath it in the Weddell Sea.
Polynyas typically occur in sea ice located in the coastal areas of Antarctica every year, but it is unusual for them to form hundreds of miles away in the open ocean where the sea is thousands of feet deep.
'The Maud Rise polynya was discovered in the 1970s when remote sensing satellites that can see sea ice over the Southern Ocean were first launched,' said Aditya Narayanan, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Southampton and the study's lead author.
'It persisted through consecutive winters from 1974 to 1976 and oceanographers back then assumed it would be an annual occurrence. But since the 1970s, it has occurred only sporadically and for brief intervals,' Narayanan continued.
'2017 was the first time that we've had such a large and long-lived polynya in the Weddell Sea since the 1970s.'
The researchers set out to uncover how the polynya formed so far from the coast using remotely sensed sea ice maps, data from tagged marine animals and a computer-generated model of the ocean.
Results showed the current moving around the underwater Maud Rise Mountain in the Weddell Sea created turbulent eddies - a reverse current - that moved the salt to the sea's surface.

Sea ice plays an important role maintaining the Earth's energy balance while helping keep polar regions cool due to its ability to reflect more sunlight back to space.
Once the salt reached the surface, a process called Ekman transport occurred which moved the water at a 90-degree angle in the direction of the wind, making it easier for the salt to mix with heat at the surface and melt the ice.
'Ekman transport was the essential missing ingredient that was necessary to increase the balance of salt and sustain the mixing of salt and heat towards the surface water,' said Alberto Naveira Garabato, the study's co-author and professor from the University of Southampton.
The researchers speculated that polar cyclones passing through the region could have caused the Ekman transport to be stronger, bringing an excess of salt to the surface, but clarified their research could not verify the theory.
Researchers are now warning that the polynyas can have an adverse effect on oceans and contribute to the rising sea levels which rose by .3 inches from 2022 to 2023.
'The imprint of polyny as can remain in the water for multiple years after they've formed,' said study team member Sarah Gille, the study's co-author and professor at the University of California, San Diego.
'They can change how water moves around and how currents carry heat towards the continent. The dense waters that form here can spread across the global ocean.'
