Exclusive interview with member of CIA panel on UFOs

If you were going to cast the character of a brilliant eccentric scientist for a Spielberg-type sci-fi movie, the late NASA astrophysicist Dr. Thornton Leigh Page (1913-1996) would fit the role perfectly. He had a big beard, used a pirate-like eye patch (he had lost an eye in a car accident in 1961) and constantly smoked a pipe. In ufological history, Dr. Page is best known as one of the five top scientists who sat on the CIA’s Scientific Advisory Panel on Unidentified Flying Objects—better known as the Robertson Panel after its chairman Dr. Howard P. Robertson—convened secretly by the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC on January 14-17, 1953.

By all accounts, the Robertson Panel produced one of the U.S. government’s most influential policy decisions on UFOs, although the key role of the CIA was kept secret for many years. It was in the early eighties when I met Dr. Page at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas, where he worked during the last phase of his very active career in science, academia, and government. I traveled often to Houston in the period between 1981 and 1984 because my late sister and her family were living there at the time. I spent a lot of time going to JSC and doing articles and interviews on the space program for a science column I was then publishing in The New York City Tribune. I also got to know and interview some of the ufologists at JSC like John Schuessler, who became later the director of MUFON, the brilliant scientist Alan Holt, and James Oberg, the well known UFO skeptic, space expert and author.

It was Oberg, in fact, who first took me to Dr. Page’s office during one of my earlier visits to JSC. I still remember the gist of our first conversation. He had just received back then a packet of documents from Lee Graham about the so-called “Blue Room” at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where UFO secret files and/or artifacts were supposedly kept; and where Senator Barry Goldwater was denied access, as he later stated on the record in a number of letters. (For background on this story you can read Michael Schratt’s article “Inside the Blue Room” in Open Minds magazine issue 3. Dr. Page told me on that first meeting that he had just sent the package of “Blue Room” letters to Dr. J. Allen Hynek at CUFOS, of which he was a member of the Board of Governors.

The second anecdote had to do with his not too friendly relationship with Dr. Edward Condon, the director of the famous USAF-sponsored Scientific Study on UFOs conducted by the University of Colorado in the late sixties. Their feud had to do with who would write the UFO entry for the Encyclopedia Britannica. Condon wanted the assignment and so he was furious when Page got it instead. Dr. Page provided a little more background on this “exchange” between the two scientists in the Abstract for a talk he gave on “The CIA Robertson Panel on the UFO problem” for the Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) in Austin, Texas, in 1987:

The final anecdote has to do with my being invited to write the article on UFO for the Encyclopedia Britannica. I thought it only right to check my text with Condon, so I phoned him at the University of Colorado. When I explained the situation, there was a loud crash, and the phone went dead. When I called back, the secretary explained that Dr. Condon was so angry that he had not been approached by the Britannica that he dashed the phone to the floor.

In subsequent trips to Houston and the JSC, I made sure to always visit Dr. Page, and he eventually agreed to do an interview for my science column in The New York City Tribune, which took place at his office on June 22, 1983. By this time, Dr. Page had moved his office to literally the end of JSC, where he had his library and his own world. The place was so far from the main JSC buildings that you had to take a special cab to get there. The bulk of the interview, however, was not on UFOs but on Dr. Page’s extensive research in astronomy and space exploration, including an experiment he conducted with “a powerful ultraviolet camera” that was set up by the Apollo 16 astronauts on the lunar surface. Page trained astronaut John Young on how to use the camera, and he also used to teach basic astronomy to NASA astronauts. We also discussed comets and his astronomical research on the “dark matter” in the universe. Unfortunately, I’ve lost my article in the Tribune so I cannot post it here, but that article dealt only with Dr. Page’s astronomical research. The UFO part came at the end of the interview and it was never published, until now. However, before posting the transcript let’s review first briefly the colorful career and personality of Dr. Thornton Leigh Page.

Who was Dr. Thornton Page

Dr. Thornton Leigh Page (1913-1996) doesn’t have a Wikipedia entry, but there is a very thorough and personal obituary written by one of his many students, Donald E. Osterbrock of the Lick Observatory who became a member of the National Academy of Sciences, published in the Bulletin of the American Astronomical Society (BAAS) in 1996. Dr. Page was born in New Haven, Connecticut, where his father taught physics at Yale, growing up in an academic atmosphere. He received his BS in physics from Yale in 1934, becoming a Rhodes scholar and studying astrophysics at Oxford. Page remained at Oxford until 1938, when he received his D. Phil., and also got married. He was then appointed instructor in astronomy at the University of Chicago, and he would continue to teach at intervals throughout the rest of his life. Here Osterbrock added his own personal experience as a student of Page:

Page proved to be an outstanding undergraduate astrophysics teacher, as I can testify from my own experience soon after World War II. He was demanding, inspiring, and possessed a vivid personality, exemplified by his beard (uncommon in those days) and the brilliant red sailor’s rain hat he wore on many occasions.

Page served actively in the war in a number of capacities, joining the Naval Ordnance Laboratory in Washington “to work on magnetic mines and countermeasures,” traveling to England to observe the countermeasures there. He was then, continues Osterbrock,

…sent to Pacific Fleet headquarters at Pearl Harbor with the minelaying operations-research group. He served on Guam, Tinian, and at sea, and was with the fleet in Tokyo Bay for the Japanese surrender. After a year helping to clear mines in the Inland Sea, just before he retired as a lieutenant commander, he observed and reported on the atomic bomb tests at Bikini.

Page returned to academia in Chicago after the war, but returned to government service in 1951 as deputy director of the Operations Research Office in the Department of the Army, where he worked mostly on classified matters—he had a Top Secret “Q” clearance—including a six-month tour in Korea during the war and two years as chief science advisor at U.S. Army Headquarters in Heidelberg, West Germany. It was during this period that Dr. Page was recruited to serve in the CIA Robertson Panel (a detail omitted in Osterbrock’s profile), and the only time he ever got paid by the CIA, according to Page himself. A declassified memo by H. Marshall Chadwell, the CIA scientist in charge of organizing the Robertson Panel, gives a little background on the hiring of both Dr. Page and Dr. Luis W. Alvarez, the brilliant physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1968 and is best known for his theory that the extinction of the dinosaurs was triggered by the crash of an asteroid or comet.

Dated January 9, 1953, Chadwell’s memo begins with the problem: “To obtain the services of Dr. Luis W. Alvarez and Dr. Thornton Page as ad hoc consultants to the O/SI [Office of Scientific Intelligence] Advisory Panel on ‘Unidentified Flying Objects’, scheduled to convene 14 January 1953.” Chadwell then list some brief qualifications for both scientists:

b.   Dr. Luis W. Alvarez is an outstanding scientist in the fields of radar operation, characteristics and anomalies.

c.   Dr. Thornton Page is a particularly competent astronomer and astrophysicist. Moreover, he has given considerable thought to the subject of “unidentified flying objects.”

In a letter to researcher Bill Pitts, Dr. Page provided a little more background to his enrollment in the Robertson Panel, which he says, came of a result of his friendship with Dr. Robertson:

H.P. Robertson, a mathematical physicist, was an old friend of mine. (We worked together in France just after WWII). He was asked by the CIA to gather a panel of distinguished scientists in Washington, 14-18 Jan. 1953, to be briefed on the UFO problem, which had just broken out in D.C. He invited me because of our friendship and because I lived in D.C., requiring no travel expenses.

In the interview with me he also gives the additional and important reason that he already had all the necessary security clearances needed to work in such a panel. In 1958, five years after the Robertson Panel, Dr. Page returned to academia, this time as professor and head of the astronomy department at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where he moved with his new wife Lou Williams, a geologist. Osterbrock provides a wonderful vignette of Page’s unique personality, writing that in this period he and his new family,

lived in a large, picturesque, university house which dated back to 1783. He used a picture of it as the illustration on the labels of the bottles of beer which he brewed under the name of “Pagerbr’áu,” and presented to faculty friends as Christmas gifts. Before leaving Germany he had located and bought a 1938 Mercedes touring car which had once belonged to Field Marshal Erwin Rommel; back in Middletown with Connecticut vanity license plates bearing a short version of the Panzer leader’s name it established Page as a colorful, respected campus character.

In 1961, Page was seriously injured in a car accident, losing his right eye, which led to his use of the eye-patch. Following a long recovery period he went back to science, including working on space-tracking programs with the Harvard-Smithsonian Observatory, helping to modernize the Cordoba Observatory in Argentina, and lecturing on astronomy to astronauts at NASA’s JSC, among other things. In 1971 he resigned from Wesleyan and moved permanently to Houston, working there first as a member of the Naval Research Laboratory until his retirement in 1976, and afterwards directly for NASA. He also taught astronomy at the University of Houston-Clear Lake near the space center, and also organized a Brown Bag (luncheon) Seminar at JSC, which continued after his death in Houston in 1996, at the age of 82. Dr. Page, concluded Osterbrock,

was a productive research worker and an outstanding teacher in the Socratic mode. He left thousands of former students more interested and knowledgeable about astronomy, science and the universe than he had found them.

Transcript of Interview with Dr. Thornton Page

Johnson Space Center, June 22, 1983

Antonio Huneeus: Well, maybe we can talk a little bit on the UFO subject. I am familiar of course with most of your background on the UFO subject, but what I would really like to get from you—I have reviewed so many times all the pages on the Robertson Panel, the declassified documents that were released by the CIA recently, I am very familiar with all that material, but I’ve never spoken with somebody who was really there, so more than the conclusions and all that, it’s more the anecdotal aspect that I want to know.

Thornton Page: Yeah, when I first got on the Robertson Panel I thought it was a lot of stupidity and lack of serious study of UFOs, and Robertson, who was an old friend of mine, got very angry at me one day and said, ‘shut up Page!’

AH: How were you selected on it?

TP: I am not really sure.

AH: You were not involved at all with UFOs before that?

TP: No, and I lived in Washington, so it was easy to attend the meetings, and well…

AH: You were doing research for the Navy at that time?

TP: Actually, at that time it was for the Army, but I was an astronomer by training and so perhaps it was for that reason, and they had a number of very eminent people on that panel, including Luis Alvarez a Nobel Prize winner, so it was an interesting time. We were shown everything that was known, that was another thing, I had a clearance, top secret and Q clearance which made it possible because everybody on this panel had to be cleared to top secret so they could show us all these secret things; and we, actually I was able to debunk one of the early UFO reports by a Navy man near Salt Lake City, who had got pictures of white spots and taken on a movie [the Trementon, Utah, film of July 2, 1952 taken by Delbert Newhouse], so we got a similar camera and sent a man out there to the same place and he got some pictures, of course this time he had binoculars with him, and they were seagulls, the pictures therefore were not UFOs but seagulls. I think that since then I’ve come to see the peculiarities of UFOs which are largely in the minds of people who see them, and it’s hard to explain why the interest on UFOs has been maintained for such a long period of time, but the sightings, in my opinion, are a variety of different things. The term UFO tends to make it seem that is one thing when, I think, most sensible scientists would agree that there are a wide number of different things. There are certainly many sightings, good sightings, with several people involved and either photographs or radar or some other detection scheme, which cannot be explained, and I think this is quite reasonable that there are combinations of circumstances in the atmosphere that scientists don’t know about yet, so that’s why there are unexplained UFO reports.

AH: So you would think that they are natural causes?

TP: Right, and of course I have to agree with Hynek that if they are not natural causes it would be of great importance, so I favor his institute at Northwestern, the Center for UFO Studies, to keep on studying these unexplained cases with the possibility that something extraterrestrial will turn up, but as I said earlier, my own inclination is that they are natural.

AH: Right, what was the atmosphere in those meetings? I mean, you met Ruppelt and all those people, right?

TP: Yeah, well, as I said, I started off with this hostility to UFOs, and got somewhat converted, I still think that, well, some of the investigations was as good as could be done, other parts were poor, and the very large number of reports is what made it so difficult for Hynek and the other people who were trying to run the show, but I must admit that the Robertson Panel was handled very well, the CIA, well they paid us among other things (laughs) and they had the presentations well organized, it was done well.

AH: Was there any kind of indication to come up with a predetermined  conclusion, or you were entirely free?

TP: No, no, in fact I made one of the recommendations of the Panel conclusions, was that a serious hazard, our main purpose was to determine whether there was a hazard to the United States from these UFOs, and I thought that probably the most serious hazard was in our communication system because the number of phone calls and letters and telegrams that were sent about UFOs in that scare of 1952 could have actually made difficulties for Civil Defense and the military because of the confusion in communications, but the Robertson Panel concluded that there was no hazard per se. Well, as I remember it now and I haven’t looked at the report for a long time, I think we favored the natural causes as an explanation.

AH: Well, I think there was a clause that they [UFOs] were not a hazard per se, but they were a hazard of what you were saying, in terms of clogging the defense communication system.

TP: That’s correct.

AH: Therefore they had to be debunked or something.

TP: Yeah, that was my doing, my contribution.

AH: Now, but then of all those very eminent scientists you were the only one, I think, well, without counting Allen Hynek who was already working on that…

TP: He [Hynek] was not on the Panel.

AH: He was an Associate Member, but you were the only one that kept at least a passing interest on the subject. I’ve never seen any of the others, I’ve never seen their names again [in connection to UFOs], and you were involved later on that other thing organized by the American Association for the Advancement of Science [AAAS].

TP: Yes, that’s true. Well, we had, Carl Sagan and I organized the AAAS Conference on UFOs, and there we had tremendous opposition from, it was when the Condon Report came out, and the idea was to have Condon come and he refused. The idea was to have—well, the book A Scientific Debate describes it—so that people on both sides of the question, both anti-UFO and pro-UFO, could say what they thought, but there it was largely, well Carl and I selected people we knew to come to the meeting and talk, and we threw open the discussion to the whole audience. I remember at the time we were very worried about that because we thought we’d get some crackpots who would, you know, continue the meeting forever with discussions that didn’t make any sense, but it worked out fairly well, and the book records what happened. I guess by that time I had given my course on UFOs at Wesleyan University and I talked about how this was a good way to get students to study astronomy.

AH: Yeah, I remember on the declassified documents I’ve reviewed there is a whole correspondence you had with Marshall Chadwell, one of those people at the CIA.

TP: Yeah.

AH: About the results of the course.

TP: Right, we never thought in Washington in 1952 that I would be teaching a course on UFOs 20 years later (laughs).

AH: You also did write the chapter on UFOs for the Encyclopedia Britannica, right?

TP: Entry, right, and that’s what made Condon very angry because he thought he should write the article for the Encyclopedia Britannica (laughs) and I tried to give both sides, and so I think that article is still, well, it’s not biased.

AH: Since your book with Sagan you haven’t been that involved?

TP: No, here at JSC for quite a while I answered all the letters about UFOs, but since then, Schuessler does it now, and some of them were ridiculous but some were quite interesting, pictures taken by a man in Italy which showed lights in the sky, and well, reports from many different countries, it’s surprising that they started sending these reports to NASA, I don’t know why, I guess in the early Apollo flight there was some joking about UFOs, Oberg debunked this, but a lot of people thought that the astronauts had seen UFOs and therefore that we would be experts on UFOs here.

AH: OK, I guess that sort of covers it. I guess the main thing is, you consider yourself more or less a skeptic but you do endorse serious research like the one done by Dr. Hynek?

TP: I am on his Board of Governors, or whatever he calls it, and well, I suggested several things to them. One was this man, we talked about the Blue Room the other day…

AH: This is not entirely related to UFOs, but the subject of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI)?

TP: Yeah, well, I have given money to Carl Sagan’s Planetary Society, and they, as you know, have a new radio analysis program out of the Haystack Radio Telescope, and hope to survey at different frequencies all the sky or at least more than half of the sky, so that the possibility of radio communications from extraterrestrials can be estimated, that is, if they do this over enough of the sky for a long enough time and don’t find any radio signals, then I think you have to admit that there aren’t any people trying to reach us by radio.

AH: The search has been very limited so far?

TP: So far it’s been very limited and it’s a mammoth undertaking.

The UFO Course

It is interesting to note that of all the official members of the Robertson Panel, Dr. Page was the only one who kept at least a passing interest in ufology for the rest of his life. Of course the other one was Dr. Hynek, but he was only an associate member and didn’t sign the final conclusions and recommendations of the panel. Another member and prominent scientist, Dr. Lloyd Berkner, has been implicated as an alleged member of the Majestic 12 or MJ-12 Committee tasked to research the 1947 UFO crash in Roswell, but the authenticity of these “documents” is in dispute, and a discussion about MJ-12 goes well beyond the scope of this article.

Dr. Page continued to correspond once in a while with CIA officials like Philip G. Strong and some of this correspondence can be read or downloaded at the CIA’s FOIA Electronic Reading Room (their equivalent to the now famous FBI Vault). Some of these letters have to do with queries from outside people like Dr. Leon Davidson or Fred Kirsch, mostly regarding the CIA’s participation in organizing the Robertson Panel, which the agency tried to hide for a number of years. Others deal with the idea of a course on UFOs, which began to germinate in Dr. Page’s mind after his return to academia in 1958. Eventually this developed into a full-fledged UFO course at Wesleyan University in the late sixties, probably the first of its kind at any American university. Dr. Page provided the background and explained the success of this class in the already mentioned letter to Bill Pitts, where he wrote:

I went back to teaching astronomy at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where I had difficulty attracting students to my courses. So in 1967, I offered a course in Flying Saucers, which attracted 50 students (astronomy got 10 to 15). They had to learn some astronomy to identify UFOs as planets or bright stars. The kids loved it, each one wrote a term paper citing the evidence for or against UFOs as extraterrestrial visitors, and we published the three best papers in a pamphlet, printed by the University, which sold well at 25 cents an the Univ. bookstore. We even had a debate on a Hartford radio station between two pro and two con students.

I found the titles of some of the winning papers quite interesting, particularly for the time period of 1968-1971 when they were written by the students. For instance, “The Scientific and Philosophical Question of Life – Part IV: Flying Saucers?” by Bruce Karten; “The Implications of Flying Saucers for Theology” by William Madden; and “Cosmopolitics: Problems and Prospects of Human Relations in Space” by Donald Schellhardt. These papers, together with other documents related to Dr. Page (his correspondence with Bill Pitts and James Klotz, the Encyclopedia Britannica UFO entry, review of the Condon Report, etc.) can be found at the Computer UFO Network (CUFON) website.

Thornton Page monitored the UFO phenomenon quite actively particularly in the period of the late sixties, publishing among other things a paper titled, “Photographic Sky Coverage for the Detection of UFO’s,” in the June 14, 1968 issue of the AAAS magazine Science; a long and insightful review of the Condon Report in the American Journal of Physics (Vol. 37, No. 10, Oct. 1969); the UFO entry in the Encyclopedia Britannica, which was used in the editions between 1974 and 1984; and the book, co-edited with Carl Sagan, UFO’s – A Scientific Debate (W. W. Norton, 1972), which is the proceedings of the AAAS UFO Symposium in Boston in 1969. Besides the Introduction co-written with Sagan, Page wrote the first paper in the book, “Education and the UFO Phenomenon.”

In his review of the Condon Report, Dr. Page wrote that

it does not help the public image of science when the scientists shrug off sightings and interpretation accepted by so many tax-paying citizens simply because “UFO’s don’t appeal to us.” In fact, the scientists’ general refusal to take UFO’s seriously may strengthen the “new left” view that science is based more on authority than on observation and reason.

Dr. Page revisited this issue on his paper about Education and UFOs, where he concluded that,

For a number of reasons, many students as well as the general public are interested in UFO’s. Teachers should capitalize on this interest in teaching courses of broad appeal; scientists in general should take advantage  of public interest in UFO’s to correct  public misconceptions  about science.

If nothing else, the trends analyzed by Dr. Page have continued to grow. The public interest and belief in UFOs and ETs is likely bigger now, and so is the disconnect between the public and the scientific community; or between science and the political class as can be seen from issues like climate change. But the need to use UFOs to teach science—or any other number of issues specially in the social sciences—is still very much relevant, probably more so than when Dr. Thornton Page discussed it.

It was taken by professional photographers from the Martin Aircraft Company (which later merged with the American-Marietta Corporation and the Lockheed Corporation to eventually become what is now Lockheed Martin) for a promotional shot of their Martin B-57 Canberra bomber. The bomber was flying near Edwards Air Force Base in southern California sometime in 1954. This photo was leaked to the UFO organization NICAP. . . .

Star Wars-style planets with TWO SUNS are more capable of housing alien life than those which orbit a single star

Planets in solar systems that have two suns - similar to the fictional Tatooine planet from the film Star Wars - have more potential for supporting alien life than planets with single suns, according to an astronomy student.

Joni Clark from New Mexico State University simulated various types of systems including binary - systems with two suns - to test whether the planets within these systems were more or less capable of being habitable.

She discovered that in binary systems, the gravitational pull of the two suns orbiting around each other reduces the threat to those planets from solar winds, for example, increasing the chance of life surviving and water sources forming.

WHAT IS A BINARY SYSTEM?

A binary system is a system of two objects in space - traditionally stars - which are so close that their respective gravitational pulls causes them to orbit around each other.

They do this because they orbit around a central mass that keeps them in a fixed position.

Binary suns and star systems are featured heavily in the Star Wars in the system in which the planet Tatooine is located.

In the Discovery program Alien Planet, the planet Darwin IV orbits a binary system.

In The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the planet Magrathea orbits a binary system.

In Escape To Witch Mountain and Return From Witch Mountain, Tony and Tia's home planet orbits two suns.

In Star Trek Voyager, there is a system with two suns and in Doctor Who, Gallifrey -the home planet of the Time Lords- has two suns in its planetary system.

Clark told Space.com: '[The stars] calm each other down.

'It's like a really good marriage. They vent to each other, and they're not focused on anything else.

'They slow each other down and that causes increased magnetic protection of the planets.'

 

After modeling a variety of systems, Clark, along with astrophysicist Paul Mason from the University of Texas concluded that stars 80 per cent as big as the sun, if close enough together, could increase the chances of being able to sustain life.

An example of an existing planet in a binary system is the Kepler-35 b - a planet that orbits around a pair of sun-size stars.

The discovery of Kepler-35b and another twin sun planet, Kepler-34 b, was announced in January 2012.

Another binary system is the Kepler-47 system.

It is a star system with at least two planets in orbit around the pair of stars located 5,000 light-years away from Earth.

When the suns in a binary system occupy a similar mass they orbit each other in a way that reduces the amount of solar wind they create.

Solar wind is a stream of charged particles released from the upper atmosphere of a sun.

It is mostly made up of electrons and protons and this stream of particles can vary in temperature and speed.

The particles escape a sun's gravitational pull because of their high kinetic energy and the high temperature of the plasma around the sun - called the corona.

If the suns are similarly matched their speed and temperature is more regulated. This reduces how many particles escape which in turn leads to less solar wind.

Clark's stars also need to fully orbit one another within 10 to 30 days to extend the wider habitable zone - dubbed the 'Goldilocks Zone'.

The planets within these binary systems would still die out at a similar rate to those within single-starred systems, yet the 'habitable zone' increases by around 40 per cent.

However, Clark claims that if they drift too far apart, this puts a significant gravitational strain on the orbiting planets within that system.

Clark's findings were reported in Astrobiology Magazine, a web-based publication sponsored by the NASA astrobiology program.

She also found that some 'p-type' planets - planets that orbit both stars within the same binary system were hit with 0.7 percent less flux from solar winds than Earth is currently exposed to in our single-star system.

Although this level of flu depends on the planets' position within their binary solar system.

Planets that only orbit one of the suns in a binary system are more at risk, and in cases where the two suns are too far apart or greatly differ in mass to create a synchronised movement, the planet orbiting the second sun can be hit with double the amount of solar flux it gets hit with.  

This is because these planets are more prone to be tidally locked in one position, usually with one side permanently turned toward its sun.This side then receives the full brunt of any solar flux.

In binary systems, like the artist's impression pictured, its more likely that rocky planets with water sources can form because they're not at as much risk from solar assaults, compared to planets in systems with single stars. This means such planets could house alien life

Living conditions on these planets would vary because of cloud cover.

Planets with high cloud cover would be insulated and protected from ultraviolet radiation.

'It also leaves the potential open for smaller planets that have less magnetic field protection to remain habitable because in a sense they don't have to protect themselves from as much as they would in a single star case,' continued Clark.

Uri Geller psychic spy? The spoon-bender's secret life as a Mossad and CIA agent revealed

We may know him for spoon bending antics and for his lengthy friendship with pop star Michael Jackson but showbiz psychic Uri Geller has seemingly had a lengthy second career as a secret agent for Mossad and the CIA, albeit one that was more Austin Powers than James Bond.

Geller was at the Sheffield Doc Fest this week for the premiere of Vikram Jayanti’s The Secret Life Of Uri Geller – Psychic Spy?, a new film that offers compelling evidence of his involvement in the shadowy world of espionage. 

“Uri has a controversial reputation. A lot of people think he is a fraud, a lot of people think he is a trickster and makes things up but at the same time he has a huge following and a history of doing things that nobody can explain,” Jayanti says of his Zelig-like subject.

Speaking to The Independent, Geller acknowledged alarm when he first saw Jayanti’s documentary.

“I was worried and I am still concerned,” Geller said of the way the documentary outs him as a spy. “I didn’t realise that Vikram was going to do such a thorough job of tying all the loose ends…making that the little hints I dropped throughout my career were real.”

When he signed up for the doc, the psychic didn’t realise quite how diligently Jayanti would track down his old spy masters. Nonetheless, he is happy that the doc is showing “a serious side” to him. “Some countries think I am a freak, bizarre, an eccentric,” he sighs. 

On camera and in interview, Geller still remains coy about his espionage activities. Nonetheless, the psychic acknowledges that his handlers once asked him to use telepathy to stop a pig’s heart. He refused, knowing that if he had succeeded, the next target would almost certainly have been a human.

“I tried to execute missions that were positive,” Geller claims. “I said ‘no’ to dark things.”

Jayanti didn’t rely on Geller’s own cryptic testimony. Instead, he spoke to the high-level officials involved in recruiting and using him. These include scientists from The Stanford Research Institute as well as senior CIA operatives. Among the interviewees with first hand knowledge of Geller’s psychic spying activities are former CIA officer Kit Green, Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell (the sixth man to walk on the moon), physicists Russell Targ and Hal Puthoff, and retired US army colonel John Alexander (of The Men Who Stared At Goats fame). A Brit, Nick Pope, once the British Government’s UFO boffin, also puts in an appearance. We also learn about Geller's stint as a psychic bodyguard for Mexican President Jose Lopez Portillo.

The doc leaves a question mark in its title but provides so much background evidence that we are left in little doubt that even its most outlandish assertions are rooted in truth. Whether or not Geller had psychic powers, US security forces were certainly prepared to take a very hefty wager on him.

It is inferred that Geller attempted to use his psychic powers to disable radar during the “raid on Entebbe,” when Israeli commandos stormed a hijacked plane.

The spoon bender also used his mind powers to try erase the contents of floppy discs being carried back to Russia by Soviet diplomats in Mexico and to convince a Russian minister to sign a nuclear arms reduction treaty. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears in the doc, testifying to his many years of friendship with Geller.

Jayanti’s thesis is that Geller was recruited as the US security forces were caught up in “psychic arms race” with their Soviet rivals, who were almost certainly bluffing about the strength of their own psychic warriors.

“When Jimmy Carter was elected President, one of the first things he did was to have Uri Geller give him a four hour briefing on the Soviet psychic threat. America didn’t want a psychic gap and Uri was the go-to guy about these things,” Jayanti said. “Sometimes, you wonder whether Uri’s entire public career has actually been a front for his shadow world activities.”

After 9/11, Geller was apparently “re-activated” as a psychic spy.

The key formative event in Geller’s youth appears to have been his near-death experience while fighting for the Israeli army during the Six Day War. He came face to face with a Jordanian soldier and shot him to save his own life.

“Out of the entire war, that one incident, that split second of killing another human being, left me scarred and I definitely have recurring nightmares about that. I learned to live with it,” Geller tells me. “When I woke up in hospital in Jerusalem, I realised what I had committed…that soldier is embedded in my soul now. He is like my brother. That is the way I feel. Although these recurring nightmares are such that he comes and grabs me and says what did you do to me, I still feel his soul is in my soul.”

Although Geller is coy about how he helped the Mossad, he had one revealing anecdote about Israeli military leader Moshe Dayan in a restaurant.

“He (Dayan) was an avid collector of archaeological items, very ancient ones, four, five six thousand years old. They’re all around Israel. When he met me and saw my powers, the first question he asked me, after the serious questions of military use and all that…was ‘Uri, do you think you can find for me some archaeological artefacts with your powers.’ I said, ‘You know, Moshe, I’ve never done it but let’s try!’”

This led to various late night trips when Geller would take Dayan with him as he went dousing for ancient relics. “I found quite a few things for him. He loved it. He used to collect them in his garden.”

Spying for the CIA is one thing, football another. In Sheffield, Geller belatedly offered his apologies to the Scottish people for using his psychic powers from a helicopter above Wembley to try to make the ball move before Gary McAllister took his fateful, missed penalty against England during the Euro 1996 tournament. He acknowledged that was one occasion when he had most definitely crossed ethical lines.

“I then realised after I got hate letters, hundreds and hundreds from Scotland, that it was absolutely and utterly unethical,” Geller confessed. “Guess what, I bought a Scottish island. I made up with Scotland. I am an owner of a Scottish island. That, to me, means I am partially Scottish.”

“I feel the scientific study of UFOs is for the benefit of humankind and is an important endeavor. UFO Beams of Light in the Bible

“For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.” Isaiah 66:15 was written about 100 BC. There are many descriptions in the Bible of clouds carrying people, lights from heaven, and the glory of the Lord, power, and chariots of fire and whirlwinds that describe aerial vehicles that could be the UFOs we see today.

I interviewed a lady in Pensacola Beach who told me they shot they shot a blue beam at me, it knocked me out a little but not completely, then it shut off then a second beam came on and it lifted me up to the UFO and it was a humming blue beam. I was unconscious most of the time aboard the craft and saw others being examined. She parachuted as a hobby and when they returned her, she had a similar feeling to jumping out of an aircraft. Near the ground she had a similar feeling to an opening shock of the parachute. She awoke later thinking it might have been a dream, but she was in the wrong bedroom with her pajamas on backwards.

In this painting, the Angel of the Lord announces the birth of Samson to Manoah's wife. The Angel states, “Why do you ask my name it is beyond understanding and then. “As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame.” Judges 13 -20

I have interviewed several people have described a white or humming blue beam coming from the craft. One helicopter pilot who flew out of Fort Stewart Army Base in Georgia told me he was directed to intercept a UFO. When he approached it was hovering a 100 feet above a home and a blue beam was shining down lighting up the area. When he got near the UFO it flew away and he was told to not reveal his story.

God has the ability to make light or carry someone to Heaven, but He may choose to use technology. Someone describing light or flight several thousand years ago has few words in his vocabulary to describe what is happening. It’s even difficult today to describe a light that shines down from the sky that can lift a person or freeze his body or blind his eyes.

How does the pillar of a cloud or the beam of light, lift things up using the laws of science? In Sci-Fi television such as Star Trek the actor would say, “Beam me up Scotty.” My hypothesis is the beam of light or a pillar of the cloud that lifts may use circular particle accelerator. Ezekiel in the Bible describes a wheel in a wheel that may be a clue of how it works.

The beam of light could be a beam of molecular ions, molecules with one electron removed, that travel from the vessel to the ground. Science is just now starting to understand the technology described in the Bible and by abductees of how beams of light could lift a person or heavier objects into a hovering craft.

The Engineer Digital June 11, 2013 Edition reports, “New research could help cut the size of powerful particle accelerators from kilometers to meters in length, paving the way for their wider use in science, energy and medicine. An international group of scientists is hoping that a powerful new type of accelerator, in which particles ‘surf’ in the wake of pulses of energy created by optical fiber lasers, could be small enough to fit within a typical lab – and they are drawing up plans of how to build one. Such small accelerators could be used to conduct high-level scientific research with cheaper facilities than is currently possible.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) used to find the particle that appears to be the Higgs boson, for example, sits in a 27km-long circular tunnel. “The problem with accelerators at the moment is that to accelerate electrons you need a big electric field,” explained Dr Bill Brocklesby, a researcher at the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at Southampton University.

RF accelerators based on radio frequency electric fields are limited to how big those fields can be before you get breakdown (sparks). That means if you can only have a certain amount of electric field then to get the electrons to higher energies you need to make then go further, and that’s why the LHC is 27km long.’ The accelerator proposed by ICAN would use a different principle known as laser Wakefield acceleration whereby a laser pulse is fired into a small tube of gas or plasma to create a wake of electric potential that can accelerate particles to very high speeds over very short distances.

UFOs propulsion systems have strong electrical fields that can power a small city. They have been used to turn off automobile engines and lift automobiles.

The blue beam photo is courtesy of Ed Walters. He told me the beam was sucking up stones, leaves, and debris and just missed his wife. Ed Walters’s leg was caught in the beam and he claimed it felt frozen, like it was nailed to the floor. With the help of his wife Frances shown here he was able to slowly pull his leg out from under the beam. Gravity may be overcome inside the beam that seems solid. This beam or tube of high speed molecules has an inner beam ring just inside the outer beam circle.

These two beams are like a slightly smaller tube inside a larger tube. The outer beam circle or tube is like "glass" and the inner beam circle or tube is the fan. The inner beam of molecules does not blow on the individual, but flows down the inside of the outer beam, bounces of the ground, develops air pressure and sucks the individual up into the UFO. 

The Persian king Darius the Great in 500 BC apparently saw a UFO and had this representation of the god Ahuramazda carved in stone claiming the god had made him King.

UFO Hits Airliner over China

Chengdu -- UFO hits airliner in mid air over, China in June, 2013, as reported by UFO Sightings Daily. The website is authored by Scott C. Waring who was with the United States Air Force and is now in Taiwan.

 “According to the Aviation Herald, the aircraft (registration B-2856) was performing flight CA-4307 from Chengdu to Guangzhou on 4th June 2013, when a large bang was heard from the nose section of the aircraft and the aircraft performance worsened".

 “The Boeing 757 was returned to Chengdu for safety reasons and post flight examinations confirmed that the aircraft collided with a foreign object.”

Evict Tornadoes and Hurricanes

The Weather Space.com Facebook reports there were 20 tornado signatures near the North Carolina coast last week! All those dents in the green color are waterspouts offshore, moving toward the NC Coast. I have never really seen a large number of waterspouts like this before.

President Obama ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) find methods to control or decrease the strength of hurricanes and improve forecasts as they pose a threat to national security. Accurate forecasts will help DHS gauge its response to impending storms. Hurricanes and tornados are both dependent on super cell cloud formation although hurricanes and waterspouts develop over the ocean and tornadoes develop over the land.

The first year 2010, Hurricane Aerosol and Microphysics Program (HAMP) was highly productive scientifically. Aerosol and cloud measurements, statistical analyses, and numerical modeling using advanced microphysical schemes supported the hypothesis that tropical cyclones (TC) (hurricanes) are sensitive to aerosols that can act to decrease storm intensity. Aerosols such as pollen, spores, and bacteria including anthropogenic ones like products of combustion such as: smoke, ashes or dusts substantially affect cloud microphysics creating bigger super cell thunderstorms that create the tornadoes.

HAMP states, “The major impact of this research on hurricane intensity prediction is that it highlights the importance of low-level cold-pools, particularly in the outer rainbands on hurricane intensity. It means that methods for diagnosing cold-pool strength and area in real time need to be developed for hurricane intensity prediction. In addition, operational forecast models need to be implemented that can explicitly represent the variability of hurricane cold-pools due to variations in wind-shear, environmental moisture, and aerosols. It was found also that the effect of aerosols on tropical cyclone intensity is as important as interactions with the ocean. “

The HAMP hypotheses:

Aerosols affect clouds within tropical cyclones leading to redistribution of latent heat release within hurricanes and affect cyclone intensity

There is a possibility to decrease the intensity of hurricanes by seeding cloud bases of hurricanes at their periphery with submicron aerosols.

Cloud Water Content in clouds developing in dirty air is higher and super cooled water reaches higher levels as at right.

Study Conclusion: Small aerosols change dramatically the cloud microphysics and dynamics, transforming deep maritime clouds into thunderstorms.

The HAMP Hypothesis and Objectives emphasizes aerosols because they have been implicated in the rate of energy transfer within hurricanes. The main sources of energy of these hurricanes or tropical cyclones (TC) are latent heat released in clouds and sensible heat transferred from the warm ocean. Statistically significant weakening of the peak wind intensities compared to the prediction (dVmax) was found independently for both desert dust and organic carbon, while an invigorating effect was found for black carbon.

It seems reasonable that the HAMP hypotheses are probably relevant to tornadoes.

A paper co-written by several participants in the HAMP project including Joe Golden entitled, “ Aerosol Effects and Microstructure on the Intensity of Tropical Cyclones,” was released in the July 2012 Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society. In conclusion, the authors wrote, “We recommend that hurricane reconnaissance and research airplanes are equipped with aerosol and cloud physics instruments and fly patterns that will allow such measurements.” Drone use in “areas where safety concerns preclude aircraft measurements” was also called for.

This satellite image shows Hurricane Sandy and possible cloud seeding several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Some people claim this seeding called Sandy to turn inland into New Jersey. Although the winds diminished to 85MPH a storm ocean surge caused most of the damage.

The intensity of a hurricane critically depends on the rate of latent heat release as well as on its spatial distribution within the storm. The latent heat release results from complicated microphysical processes in clouds. It is known that cloud composition, which in turn determines and precipitation forming processes and the resultant heating depend on atmospheric aerosols (pollution, dust, and salt).

Chemtrails are apparently spread under a geoengineering in an attempt to halt global warming. The practice has been openly called for more and more recently, although the chemtrail phenomenon has already been reported across the globe for years now. In the Environmental Research Letters journal, scientists’ most recent geoengineering proposal detailed an “affordable” $5 billion project wherein airplanes will spray sulfur particles in the atmosphere to cool the planet.

“…this means that seeding the full depth of the marine boundary layer with 0.1 mm hygroscopic particles at concentrations of several thousand particles cm-3 can be done by dispersing hygroscopic smoke from 5 to 10 cargo airplanes flying in the boundary layer just outside the typhoon spiral cloud bands so that the particles would be drawn into the storm by the low level convergence after having sufficient time to mix well in the boundary layer.” 

These aerosols affect the cloud composition by determining the concentration and size of water droplets and ice crystals in the cloud. Recent observational and numerical studies (using advanced microphysics schemes) indicate that higher concentrations of atmospheric aerosols dramatically intensify updraft velocities and latent heat release aloft in deep maritime convective clouds. This is coupled by greater evaporative cooling at the low levels. This redistribution of heat tends to decrease the intensity of the storm.

Mexico UFO Flies into Popocatepetl Volcano

A clip of a UFO over a Mexican volcano is raising many questions this Monday morning, and the first isn’t even “is that really a UFO?” Instead, it’s “Did that UFO just sacrifice itself into that volcano?”

The video of an apparent UFO apparently flying right into Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano was taken on May 30, 2013, and is just the latest in a series of UFO sightings around the active volcano since late 2012. In the clip, the UFO seems to approach the volcano, slow down, and then deliberately enter the lave-filled crater.

So far, experts say that the video wasn’t faked, but they’re not entirely sure what to make of it.

The video could show an aircraft descending and just appear to enter the volcano.  Very interesting and intriguing images from Google Earth, which seem to show two very similar entrances to an alien base and a huge saucer shaped object buried in the ice. If there are Alien bases in the Antarctic it would follow that there are ET craft their also.

Aging Mars Rover Finds Water

Scientists on Friday claimed NASA's Opportunity has discovered early water on Mars. The solar-powered vehicle has just analyzed what may be its oldest rock ever, known as Esperance 6. It contains evidence that life-supporting water once flowed in abundance, leaving clay minerals behind.

California Orb

Los Angeles – This photo of two orbs was taken on the night of December 31, 2011. I took a second picture in the afternoon of January 1^st, 2012 in Hollywood of two similar white orbs in daytime. I got hurt in the beginning of April when an attacker caved in part of my forehead and broke my nose pretty good. The next morning I was completely healed! This is where chariots of fire come in.

 HUNTINGTON Beach – I was walking from my garage back into the house on May 25, 2013, when I felt the need to look up to see a star like orb. It looked just like a star but at mid day but it was too bright, stationary and very high up. The wind was blowing clouds by so I knew it was not a balloon. I was calling for my wife to witness as I ran to get video camera. While filming it was hard to see through flip out lenses so it appears to move as I try to focus. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Florida Orb

KISSIMMEE -- We were at EPCOT center waiting for the fireworks, as I looked to the distant sky and saw an aircraft with the normal contrail following it. Soon the contrail stopped and the object continued moving our way. Three lights were released from the bright light. I snapped a couple of pictures and it appears that another set of triangular lights were released. I tried to get another picture but the object disappeared as if someone turned off the light. I don’t believe Disney had anything to do with it. While asleep. I remember being able to leave my body and float and be turned over and over. Thanks to MUFON CMS

TWIN FALLS -- This is a real 100% UFO they are here blinking over the city with red and orange lights. I took numerous night photos for proof!

Illinois Disc

 Chicago -- I am writing this for a friend, as he is leery of revealing his name. On June 10, 2013, in the Logan Square neighborhood during broad daylight and blue skies at very busy time of day. The UFO was extremely close for it being over the city.

It was an unmistakable slow moving rotating saucer. We were in utter shock and awe, looking around to see if anyone else saw it. We do not think anyone else saw it as it took off in a blink. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Indiana Cylinder

 Evansville -- I was home alone with my twins and I decided to set up my camera to take some pictures of star trails on June 8, 2013. I went out back and set up camera for 400 five second photos.

When I was scrolling through them I noticed this picture.  I live next to an airport, but I know what airplanes look like in my photos. The picture before and after has nothing. It has two green orbs in the sky. From the picture it looks as if one is completely stationary because there is no trail on in since it’s a five second video. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Maine Light

Bangor -- I walked out front to take pictures of the stars on June 4, 2013. When I looked up I saw a bright, white light that was moving and was larger and lower than the stars. I ran inside and asked my partner to come and look. We watched the single, bright oval object move steadily across the sky with a slight wobble about 500+feet in altitude. We viewed the object for about a minute until we lost sight of it behind the trees. I did manage to capture it on video. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Mississippi Orb

 I take pictures of the weather and clouds all the time. On June 6, 2013, I took this picture and hadn’t noticed either object. When I went to reduce this picture, I noticed the plane and the white object. There was a golf tournament in nearby Memphis and I observed an obvious blimp the day this happened. This object does not have the 'under carriage' you see on a blimp but the small object is obviously there. Other pictures taken seconds later do not show the object what I feel is a UFO. Missouri Orb

ST. CHARLES COUNTY -- A YouTube video taken during Friday night's storms May 31, 2013 gives viewers a look at the powerful wind that caused so much damage across St. Charles County.

The man behind the camera, Tim H., said in the notes "I was acting silly, driving home from work, I didn't think it was really going to be a tornado, but I turned the corner and there it was. I had a kind of gallows laugh and humor; I am an example of what not to do. Please heed warnings, go to your basement. ST. LOUIS -- The sighting started when a friend come over to my house and saw a floating disk of light as he pulled up on June 3, 2013. This occurred around 11 PM so he could not see the outline. He comes inside to tell us to come look and when we get back it has vanished. We also noticed a red, blue and yellow/white light floating in the sky. We observed it moving all around the sky at various speeds.

It would light up white for two minutes then return to the blinking lights. We watched for an hour and a half and headed inside. The picture included was taken when the UFO lit up. New York Light

Queens -- I was walking back with my little brother from the gym on June 4, 201, when I noticed a white bright light flying over the airplane traffic. I could tell the difference from this object and the airplanes and helicopters. This had no air craft lights. I was able to take three pictures. The craft disappeared into the horizon. Someone else had to see it.

 Even the airplanes in the area may have caught it on radar. When you zoom in on the pictures you can notice something strange. I thought it was a plane as it flew in a straight going past near LaGuardia Airport. I was mesmerized how it was just cruising past the planes. It was bright and beautiful. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Flushing, Queens – I’d gone with my family about 5:40 PM, on June 5, 2013, to watch my son’s Spring Concert and noticed the object hovering in the south. I had brought my new camera to record the school production. We noticed it hadn’t moved and just floated there at a very high altitude. I snapped several shots with my Cannon Powers SX500 capable of zooming in quite a long distance. I brought it to other parent’s attention. There were over 30 people outside hat saw the object. Many were confused but had a keen interest and some were skeptic. The object was hovering and giving off some kind of odd glow. This was not something man-made, but rather some kind of organic life form. The object was gone an hour later. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Nevada Disc

LAS VEGAS -- We were vacationing last spring break on March 13, 2013, and I was taking pictures with my cell phone. I don’t remember and ceiling lights that could have created the image. Any ways I did not notice the object or reflection until I got home a few days later. The image shows a somewhat transparent saucer shape.

I emailed mUFOn and he did a preliminary assessment and he noticed a dark object at the top left of the photo that I did not see until he pointed it out. I simply cannot explain what is on my photo and am seeking help explaining the out of place object. This is not a fake.

Pennsylvania Orb

Don Horvath writes, “I had an experience ten years ago with an orange-yellow orb about the size of a golf ball in my backyard. It was just hovering in the air, seeming to try to keep out of sight. I approached it and it moved swiftly away from me, keeping its distance. I then approached it again, zigzagging this way and that and it kept pace with me as if it were attached to me somehow. Just then, what seemed to be an "invisible critter" of some kind seemed to dart out from a heavy yew bush but it was invisible, even though it left a shadow in the full moonlight. No sooner had this occurred than a very stealthy black hawk helicopter made a pass over my head. I say very stealthy because it was no louder than a Volkswagen; if you were not listening for it you wouldn't have heard. It made another pass as I ran outside and it was so low that I could see the pilot, instrument lights and a guy in the open back door. I know it was a Black Hawk because I live near the Willow Grove Naval Air Station and know aircraft.  It stayed circling my neighborhood till dawn.”

I called Bill Hamilton the next day and he asked me what he thought I was watching. I said, "I don't know; just some kind of orange ball". He then asked me if I had any kind of intuitive guess.  I told him, now that you mention it; I got the sense that it wasn't really an object at all but rather a moveable hole in space.  Bill sent me a paper that he and a guy from Motorola were working on. He called these little orbs "Mini Stargates" said that they are able to open up to most any size needed. Act as "probes" to observe things; open up to let a being out...or abduct a humans (this would explain people being taken through walls, etc....or even let a craft in...or become the craft! Floresville -- I was driving home from my Mother’s residence on May 7, 2013.

 One of my neighbors had one land on her property. An orb flew up from the ground and moved quickly up and out of sight.

Wyoming Saucer

 Grand Tetons -- We took this picture in the Grand Tetons on May 26, 2013. This was another feeble attempt, but the cloud looks like a saucer.

We did see bears, many buffalo and elk. Animals are abundant when we were there with our kids last week. Sure miss you and your talks.

Worldwide UFO Reports

Argentina Triangle

Buenos Aires   On May 15, 2013 I observed for a few minutes a triangle of white spheres, so I went to find the camera. At one point it changes shape and circulates bright white in a blue sky. I ran to my balcony to see better and my 21 years old son arrived and also saw a white circle and was amazed. My husband and my daughter took it lightly, but seeing the picture changed their opinion. I asked my niece who studied photography to look at the objects.

 I started seeing flying objects that were not terrestrial. I started taking photos of the phenomenon on 28 October 2012, of objects that are usually triangular flying south. Our animals also perceive the objects and look to heaven. The phenomenon is clearly visible at the base having three point lighting. The witness says, three white spheres go inside the triangle and accompany him in his flight. They may be three luminous points of light.

Australia Light and Discs

Gladstone – A bright orange light slows down and flashes slowly and disappears on May 4, 2013. Some friends and I were sitting out the front of their house and seen a bright orange light moving fast and then slows down and flashes slowly and slowly disappears. Perth -- I was standing outside my back yard at 10.30 pm having a cigarette looking up and to the left of the moon I saw what I thought was a shooting star on May 22, 2013. I looked at it and realized it was travelling from the left of the moon across and below the moon to the right of the moon across the flight path of Perth’s landing planes. I realized it was two disc craft, one tailing the other slightly to the left of the one in the front.  "Wow, they are in a hurry to get somewhere quick." 

They were disc shaped and looked almost transparent but the moon light lit them up.

They travelled at great speed without lights but were much larger than a nearby plane. I am a 53 year old lady and don't make this sort of thing up, it was an awesome sight. Thanks to Peter Davenport, Director National UFO Reporting Center http://www.UFOcenter.com

Canada Bright White Light

Surrey, British Columbia -- I was golfing the other day at Morgan Creek Golf Course, on May 30^th, 2012, around 4 PM. I took the picture of the clouds on my iPhone.

I was facing north. I never looked at the picture until this morning. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this. This entry was posted in  permalink.

Amos, Quebec -- Shortly before 4:00 AM, on June5, 2013, I got up and looked out from my bedroom window facing west and noticed a bright white light over the NW horizon, too bright to be a planet or a star. It was three times brighter than Venus at its brightest. I kept looking and noticed it was moving slowly without blinking. I got out to have a better look. I realized it didn't look like an airplane and had no blinking lights, just one very bright light. 

I went back inside and got my camera (Lumix DMC-FZ28, with an 18x zoom) and managed to film 40 seconds of it. It was visible for about three minutes before it disappeared below the SE horizon. When I first saw it NW, it was about 25 degrees, at its highest, facing south, about 35 degrees.

I guess it must always have been more than one mile away. The observation occurred about 3:52 AM. It was not a conventional aircraft or Chinese lantern. It looked white eye but the recording reveals colors. Thanks to MUFON CMS

India UFO Spotted in the Sky

Mangalore – Five of us were on the terrace on May 4, 2013, my friend saw it initially and thought it was an aircraft, but later it flew right over our head. It had a ring of fire and a ball of fire on the center. There were sparks flying off it. All five of us witnessed them as it was so clear and passing right over our heads; one after the other in the gap of three to four minutes. Italy 4 Orange fireball ufos

Macherio -- I witnessed the passing of three orange fireballs travelling north very close to me and quite big on May 25, 2013. When they were disappearing a fourth one passed following the others. They were all very bright and slow in movement with a central bright light and gradation of orange radiation and a soft orange halo. Wow! I guess they are really coming! Netherlands Castle UFO

Amsterdam ABC National News with Diane Sawyer reports the X files on June 10, 2013 and made a reasonably factual report of a UFO over Muiderslot Castle showing the UFO accidentally photographed above the landmark. On May 25, Corinne Federer and her mother visited the medieval castle, built in 1285 near. Federer, manager in Amsterdam, and an avid photographer, was shooting High Dynamic Range, or HDR, photos of the castle.

In order to create HDR images, you take three or more exposures -- this one happened to be five -- and you shoot them all at the same time, because you then overlap the images and it gives you the full spectrum of light, which your camera can't capture but your eyes can,"

"It was a tubular-shaped object that had an S-shaped fin on it. If it had been any type of missile, it would've had multiple fins, but facing the same direction. We heard nothing, it was completely quiet out.

The object was blurred at 1/250th of a second, so it had to be going superfast.

There is also another disc shaped object to the right of the sun. Thanks to ABC News.

Puerto Rico Disc

Barranquitas -- I saw this on the news today in Puerto Rico that 12 year old girl had taken a clear ufo photo on April 16, 2013.

i don’t think a 12 year old girl would make this photo up. She was going to take a picture of the moon and noticed she caught a disc shaped ufo over some trees Barranquitas. You can look it up in a wooded area and see it in the news. Thanks to MUFON CMS

UK England

Derby – I went out for a smoke at 1 am on June 3, 2013; and noticed a star flashing rapidly in the night sky. After watching it for about five minutes I came to realize that it was flashing too violent and to close to be a star. After the first five minutes passed a similar second object came in from the left and stopped within a couple of meters of the first craft. It stayed static for a couple of minutes until it started to fly to the right. After the object moved out of sight the first object started to fly in the same path as the second object. Being as this isn't my first encounter of a UFO I wasn't two shocked about seeing it as I’m a strong believer that we've been visited. Thanks to MUFON CMS

DORCASTER -- It was Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 2 AM and I couldn’t sleep, and I just happened to see a moving light through the window blinds. I jumped up and opened the blind to see it. There were no flashing lights or noise, which made me think it, might be a meteor, but it had no trail. The object was bright, and brighter than any star. It flew east in a straight line faster than normal. It flew at a steady pace, but too fast for it to be a plane.

It was over the house and out of my view within 10-15 seconds. As soon as it went over the house my first thought was 'have I just seen a UFO’? I’m not sure how many people saw this, or what it was, but I feel it was a UFO.  Thanks to MUFON CMS
