Glowing UFO over Perry Hall, Maryland on 2nd August 2014
Glowing UFO over Perry Hall, Maryland on 2nd August 2014
New interesting video footage of a bright glowing UFO light recorded in the sky above Perry Hall, Maryland on 2nd August2014.
Witness said: In Perry Hall, I was working on laptop from my car. I saw this object out of the corner of my eye. There was a big lightning storm moving in from west when it appeared in clear skies of the east. I thought maybe it was a remote-control airplane, but it would have been very large at the apparent distance it was at, and it climbed straight up at the end. I wasn’t sure if an RC airplane could do that. I videotaped it on my cellphone, but didn’t realize it was still in view when I stopped recording. Later when showing the footage to a military friend of mine, I noticed it reappeared at the end going straight up behind a tree – hadn’t noticed at the time. Military friend said it didn’t look like a drone. Just curious what it was – it was interesting to watch.
On a chilly Saturday night in November 1974, three teenage boys lit up a Carbondale, PA silt pond and sparked a UFO legend that still glows 40 years later. The boys, including Robert Gillette Jr., reported to police on Nov. 9 they saw “a red, whirring ball fly over Salem Mountain and into the mine pond.” What would become known as the “Carbondale UFO” drew police officers, military, UFO enthusiasts and curious spectators from across the country. The glow lasted nine hours. After two days, a diver emerged from the murky waters with nothing but an old railroad lantern in hand. Twenty-five years later, Gillette admitted throwing the battery-powered lantern into the pond to scare his sister, but the legend lives on. The city plans to mark the upcoming 40th anniversary of the “close encounter” during the Pioneer Nights – Ethnic Heritage Festival with the Carbon D. Alien Regatta on Saturday. Alex Kelly, co-owner of Icon Technologies, grew up down the road from the silt pond. He doesn’t remember any UFOs or little green men but he does recall the “chaos the next day.” “There were cars everywhere, we couldn’t get out of our driveway,” he said. A Scranton Times reporter described seeing licenses plates from 17 states and Canada at the pond. A story published on Nov. 12, 1974, reports that crowds showed up from New York and Connecticut. Every regional newspaper, radio and television station was live from the scene including a three-man news crew from Philadelphia. UFO specialists from New York, New Jersey and Northwestern University in Illinois investigated. A lengthy report by Matthew J. Graeber from the UFO Research Investigation Center in Philadelphia is still on file today at the Carbondale Historical Society. Police manning the overwhelmed phone lines reported calls from as far away as England. People of all backgrounds and occupations surrounded the pond behind Russell Park, making the light in the water the lesser of then-police chief Francis Dottle’s worries. He was more concerned about the masses on the shore. Kelly said believers and non-believers of the legend are separated into a few groups. Some believe the glow was caused by a lantern thrown into the pond. Others insist a craft from outer space landed in the small pond and the government covered it up. One popular theory is that the illumination came from a fallen spy satellite, maybe from Russia, maybe from the United States, he said. Jim Racht, also a co-owner of Icon Technologies, said, “People either roll their eyes or say, ‘Yeah, they took something out of there.’” Involved with the Carbondale Historical Society and the Route 6 Task Force, Kelly and Racht began researching the event after an interview for WVIA’s “My Town” documentary about the city. Kelly said when Michele Bannon, city clerk, suggested including the UFO landing in the town’s history, the two men raised their hands and got to work. One question they asked themselves was if there was a UFO, who drove the craft? Shortly after the documentary premiered in 2012 the two men started the website, carbondalien.com. The site features old and new photos of Carbondale doctored to include the life-sized green extraterrestrial plastic figure, which they took to the WVIA documentary premiere. A comprehensive history of the lore is also on the site. In Racht’s 2010 book about the history of Carbondale, he dubs the incident the “Birth of a Suburban Legend.” Sitting in their office next to a nearly five-foot-tall green extraterrestrial-looking figure wearing a white T-shirt, Kelly and Racht said one thing that most Carbondale residents agree that a flat bed truck hauled something covered by a blue tarp away from the scene all those years ago. Nick Redfern joins Dr. Rita Louise on Just Energy Radio where he reveals information regarding mysterious murders that have occurred to individuals who investigate the UFO phenomena as well as individuals who have been witnesses to the actual events.
An aircraft enthusiast observed three UFOs over Wales, near the English county of Shropshire, on the night of Wednesday, August 13.
The witness, Mervyn Davies, is a model aircraft enthusiast and the founder of the Oswestry and District Flying Club. He noticed the first UFO at approximately 9:45 p.m. from his bedroom window. The bright white light led Davies to believe he was watching a helicopter. But after observing the UFO through binoculars, he could see the object was “liked a banana shape, with both its points facing down, like in an arch.” In addition to the bright white light, Davies says he also observed red and green lights coming from the UFO.
He describes to the Shropshire Star that this UFO “climbed very slowly into space and then just stopped there.” Based on the object’s appearance and behavior, Davies is convinced that this UFO was not a helicopter or a plane.
An illustration of what Davies observed. (Credit: Shropshire Star)
After the first object “rose into space,” the witness describes two other bright objects emerging from or near the initial UFO. These two additional bright white lights reportedly shot across the sky at incredible speeds. Davies estimates the objects were traveling five times faster than a jet normally flies.
Davies observed the UFOs for approximately thirty minutes before he took his dog inside the house. When Davies returned, the lights were no longer visible.
The witness is perplexed by what he observed. He explains to the Shropshire Star, “I know what aircraft can do because I do the model flying club and I go to all the air shows such as at Welshpool and Cosford and these were definitely not normal aircraft.”
Did King Kong inspire the myth of the Loch Ness monster?
They are the 20th Century’s most monstrous icons and have sparked fear and fascination from the Highlands to Hollywood.
But now it has been claimed that King Kong gave birth to the myth of the Loch Ness monster.
New research from America’s Columbia University suggests the sightings in northern Scotland were triggered by the release of the 1933 classic, which, along with the giant rampaging gorilla, also featured a long-necked, hump-backed lake creature.
Author Daniel Loxton says the first reported sighting of a ‘plesiosaur-like dinosaur’ in the Loch was made by Londoner George Spicer in August 1933 – when King Kong was playing to packed cinemas in the UK.
Mr Loxton said: “Previous witnesses had reported splashes or humps in the water, but Spicer reported a close-up view of a long-necked creature that could have been lifted right off King Kong’s Skull Island.
“Indeed, I believe that is what happened.
His yarn gave rise to many other sightings, making the “plesiosaur” a favourite explanation for Nessie throughout the 20th Century.”
The following year, a photograph of the Loch Ness monster caused a global sensation.
The shadowy picture became the definitive image of Nessie until the 1990s, when it was proved it had been created by attaching a cut-out dinosaur head to a toy submarine.
Marine biologist Adrian Shine, who has studied the Loch for more than 40 years, backed Mr Loxton’s theory.
He said: “I believe that King Kong was the main influence behind the Jurassic Park hypothesis at Loch Ness. Before Spicer’s sighting there were no long-neck reports at all.” – NZ Herald
The open-air holding pen dubbed “a human zoo” outside the courthouse is just part and parcel of living in the King Country town of Te Kuiti on New Zealand’s North Island. But the sight of it has shocked justice advocates around the country who have described the outside holding area as “barbaric” and “positively Victorian”.
Retired defence lawyer Peter Williams QC called the practice ‘humiliating’ and ‘absolutely barbaric’. “How the justice department can justify a holding pen is just unbelievable, it’s beyond imagination … just absolutely wrong,” the lawyer of 60 years experience said. “Whoever is responsible for it should be dealt some type of discipline and the thing should be dismantled and the proper remand rooms or accommodation put up to civilised standards.”
Wellington human rights lawyer and member of the NZ Council for Civil Liberties Michael Bott said the cage ‘almost has an element of theatre about it’. “In many ways the cage on a street sounds like it’s barely a step removed from the stocks a couple of hundred years ago which were used to shame people … it’s positively Victorian.” Bott said not all the people in the cage were convicted of a crime either which would appear to breach people’s privacy. He said it was a clear breach of S23(5) of the Bill of Rights Act which states ‘everyone deprived of liberty shall be treated with humanity and with respect for the inherent dignity of the person’.
“Not everyone who is bailed is convicted … it just seems bizarre.” Roger Brooking, who has 15 years experience working in the justice arena, was gobsmacked. “It’s totally weird. I have never seen anything like that before. I had no idea there was a human zoo for offenders in Te Kuiti. I think it’s disgusting, quite frankly. This is something you would see in a third world country, or something out of the middle ages.” Tony Fisher, general manager of district courts, said the Ministry of Justice had received no negative feedback about the “secure entranceway”. – Stuff
Johnstown, PA – This is probably useless information but when I was a kid in the 70′s and told people what I saw, They said I was dreaming.
There were beings who came into my bedroom and stood on the porch roof outside my bedroom at night. I would cry, please stop! They were about 3 feet tall and my lived near a farm. My Dad told me they were stray cats because of the triangular face. They weren’t cats!
I wasn’t allowed to watch TV for a long time because my parents thought the television shows were giving me the “bad dreams”!
The closest neighbor was 200 yards away and asked me why my night light was so bright. I only had a little Christmas tree light. She said it was so bright, she was concerned that the house might be on fire but she could tell it wasn’t fire. Just a bright light.
I was born in 1970 and we moved out of that house in 1979 and I never saw them again but I know what I remember. I’ve been trying to tell myself it was dreams for 35 years. I know it wasn’t dreams.
Like I said, useless information after 35 years but it feels good to tell somebody who won’t say, “You were dreaming.” And the neighbor who asked about the super bright light wasn’t dreaming either. Thanks, Greg – MUFON CMS
In it, researchers say nearly 15,000 celestial oddities have been spotted since the group began collecting data in 1989.
“Coincidentally, this almost exactly matches the total number of UFO reports collected and analysed by the United States Air Force Project Blue Book during its official run of less than 20 years from 1952 to 1970,” said the group in a blog post.
Research co-ordinator Chris Rutkowski says the group’s work doesn’t provide absolute proof about the existence of extraterrestrials, but raises questions.
“This is simply a phenomenon that’s real, that people continue to report,” Rutkowski said in an interview with The Canadian Press Press after the study was released Friday. “And I believe that science should take a better look at what’s going on because the (data) suggests the phenomenon isn’t going away.”
The study shows a growing number of unexplained sightings over the years.
The “hot spot” cities with the most sightings were Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Calgary.
The majority of sightings were spotted between 10 p.m. and midnight, and usually in July and August.
About three per cent, or 467 cases, were close encounters, including alleged alien sightings and abductions. – The Weather Network
The universe is full of mysteries that challenge our current knowledge. In “Beyond Science” Epoch Times collects stories about these strange phenomena to stimulate the imagination and open up previously undreamed of possibilities. Are they true? You decide.
On Aug. 15, 1977, a 72-second radio signal from space stirred up the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI). Astronomer Jerry Ehman viewed the signal on a computer printout and wrote the word “Wow!” on the sheet, giving the signal the moniker it has today. The signal came from the Sagittarius constellation near the center of the galaxy.
The printout with Ehman’s ‘WOW! written on it. (Credit: Ohio State University)
Ehman recalled in an interview with Cleveland’s The Plain Dealer: “It was the most significant thing we had seen.”
The signal, which appeared as the six characters 6EQUJ5, did not have any apparent meaning. It was received by Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio observatory. It caused much excitement, but a similar transmission has not been discovered since, leading many to lose hope that it was an attempt by extraterrestrials to make contact. But it remains a mystery 37 years later, leaving the tantalizing uncertainty—a thread to draw the imagination up into space and onto other worlds inhabited by intelligent life.
The Big Ear was used, starting in 1965, to survey celestial radio sources. Objects in the cosmos, such as pulsars, quasars, and certain nebulas, emit large amounts of radio waves. In the 1970s, it’s focus shifted and it became the first device to constantly survey radio waves from space in search of extraterrestrial communication. Though radio waves are emitted by many objects in space, the Wow! signal was very unusual—in exactly the ways we’d expect a message from aliens to be unusual.
It was resonating at 1420 MHz, on the hydrogen line. “Hydrogen line” refers to a frequency that is said to be the most likely for communication from intelligent extraterrestrial life. In 1959 Philip Morrison at Cornell University and Frank Drake at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory independently recognized this likelihood, explains the SETI website.
“They reasoned that more advanced civilizations would reason that young civilizations (like ours) might already be listening there,” according to SETI.
The hydrogen line is named as such because it is the frequency of the waves emitted by neutral hydrogen atoms. The International Telecommunications Union protects this frequency to avoid “noise” on it from earthly sources. Astronomers have used it in their studies for such purposes as making maps based on emissions from hydrogen atoms in space.
The Wow! signal’s strength and shifts in intensity along the hydrogen line make it a likely candidate for extraterrestrial communication.
Brian Dunning said on Skeptoid: “If we ever do receive a deliberate alien transmission, Wow! was exactly what we’d hope and expect to find.”
There is no shortage of shocking stories of witchcraft and murder from the African continent…but the following article out of Malawi may suggest something different. Is it possible that this was a case of abduction & human mutilation?
Grief engulfed the family of the Chimwenje and surrounding residents in central Malawi district of Dedza after their 11-year-old boy who went missing some four weeks ago was found dead but without his private parts, tongue and eyes.
The 11-year-old boy went missing on 19th July and according to his father, Sam, he was suspected to have been abducted by some unknown people.
The father said his child was discovered dead on August 16, almost a month, in Dedza Mountain by some woman who had gone there to fetch firewood.
“The body was found in a complete decomposed state but without private parts, eyes and tongue,” explained the father.
Chimwenje said it is believed his son’s abductors drove the boy to the mountain and parked the vehicle at the towers before taking him to a place where they gouged his eyes and removed his tongue and private parts.
While confirming the sad development, Dedza Police Station Public Relations Officer Edward Kabango said it would be difficult to ascertain whether the boy assailants indeed removed his said organs because of the state in which the body was found.
“When we went there we found that the body was in a complete decomposed state and it is difficult to determine if the body had those organs missing,” said Kabango.
The police spokesperson said due to the decomposed stated of the body they buried it right at the same scene where they found it.
But the father insisted that they checked their child’s body and confirmed that the said parts were missing.
“I think the police must learn to tell the truth, they are very much aware that the body had no eyes, no private parts and no tongue what are they up to? When we were checking we were actually together with them,” explained Chimwenje.
This sad development comes barely days after two other similar incidents which occurred on August 15 and July 31 in Mzimba and Chikhwawa respectively.
In Chikhwawa, a nine-year-old girl was murdered and had her private parts and some of her flesh removed from buttocks and upper leg while in Mzimba unknown person raped a seven-year-old girl before strangling her and damping her in a forest where she was reportedly fetching firewood.
Meanwhile, in Chikhwawa five people have been arrested by police in connection with the incident, according to Chikhwawa Police spokesperson Sunday Ngulube. – Nyasa Times
Conspiracy theories about life on the moon persists 45 years after the lunar landing(Getty)
It's a conspiracy theory that won't go away: that life exists on the Moon and government agencies are keeping the truth from coming out.
The latest sighting by a keen UFO enthusiast claims that a sighting of a dark shape on Google Moon – the search engine's software that shows a photographic map of the equatorial region of the Moon – is evidence for an alien base on the Moon.
The footage, posted online by a blogger and apparently full-time UFO spotter Scott Waring, shows a dark shape that Waring says is a "pretty amazing structure" – a 'Moon base' used by alien species – and details its precise co-ordinates for other fans of the extraterrestrial to look up: 19°43'02.81" N 20°30'52.97" E.
Waring says: "On the back side alone there is seven to eight right angles. The darkness around the edges seems to tell us that there is a large cavity underneath the structure, under the ground and also along the edges here there is a walled area which tells us there is a cavity there because the wall is to keep things from falling in."
UFO in the Moon
Earlier this year video footage appeared online that showed another lunar object that prompted speculation that aliens had made the Moon their home. The footage, which was also captured by an enthusiast using Google Moon, showed wedge-shaped craft with a distinct V-shape of bright lights inside a tiny crater on the moon's far side – 2 degrees and 34 minutes east and 22 degrees 42 minutes north, at the edge of Mare Moscoviense.
The images can also be seen using Goole Earth, in a small corner of a high-resolution image that Google credits to JAXA, the Japanese space agency whose Kaguya spacecraft took the photo.
But a wider view of the same image shows that there are dozens of such 'craft'.
Experts at Arizona State University, who run the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera, say the sightings are likely to be artifacts from the digital photography software.
Google stores multiple resolution image tiles, and uses a different set of tiles depend on how much you are zoomed in. High resolution tiles have filters applied to them to make them appear sharper. These sharpening filters can create distortions where light and dark regions meet – and can create the appearance of lights or objects that can be interested as shapes that indicate an alien presence on the Moon.
This hasn't quelled the fascination with these images or speculation about a possible alien base on the Moon. The video of the V-shaped anomaly has drawn more than 1.4 million viewers and national news coverage.
Surely this was an alien chaser's dream come true.
UFO mania: Crystal Clear Video of Multiple UFOs Captured In Sao Paulo Brasil – August 2014
UFO mania: Crystal Clear Video of Multiple UFOs Captured In Sao Paulo Brasil – August 2014
Below is a video of a recent UFO sighting that took place in Sa0 Paulo, Brasil in early August of this year. The footage is extremely clear and shows multiple objects that are clearly unidentifiable.
Remember, “UFO” refers to an unidentified flying object, and they are constantly tracked on airport and military radar.
There are plenty of UFO videos floating around on YouTube, with little doubt that many of them are fake. On the other hand, the rate of UFO incidents continues to climb so much that people are witnessing them for themselves. The UFO problem has been examined in detail for a very long time, especially in South America. You can read more about that after the video
How To Decipher Between What’s Real and What Isn’t
Below are a few of many examples of authentic documented UFO encounters. As far as video footage goes, there are some real ones floating around out there. Contrary to popular belief, UFOs are caught on camera all the time, and the best way to decipher between what’s real and isn’t is to actually research the subject for yourself. It’s a serious topic that deserves proper attention.
“The nations of the world are currently working together in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon. There is an international exchange of data. Maybe when this group of nations acquires more precise and definite information, it will be possible to release the news to the world” – General Carlos Castro Cavero, Spanish Air Force General
One of most dramatic of all were two encounters that year on December 16th by the Chilean Air Force:
“Two pilots on a training mission, each flying an F5 fighter aircraft, tracked the object on their airborne radar. It gave a return equal to ten or more aircraft carriers-except this object was in the air, not floating on the water. Each pilot assumed his radar equipment was faulty, until he learned that the other pilot was also getting the same return. Not only this, but ground radar from a nearby airport also picked up the object and confirmed its huge size. The pilots also saw the object with their own eyes. One pilot later said that at a distance of twenty miles, it looked “like a plantain banana swathed in smoke.” The pilots were frightened, having no missiles or weapons. As they approached the massive object, which had been motionless all this while, it took off at an unimaginable speed. All at once, it vanished from the three radar screens.”
“The very next morning the Chilean Air Force scrambled some F5 fighter jets to intercept another very large UFO. The pilots described this one as very bright, and very large. The Chilean Air Force has officially acknowledged these events, but could not explain what had occurred.”
Hereis an NSA document describing a case from Iran.
Brazil (where the above footage comes from) has a number of interesting documented cases, one in particular (for example) happened On May 19, 1986. There was a large portion of Brazilian airspace that was constantly occupied by UFOs. The Brazilian air-force constantly scrambled their jets to get a closer look at what they were picking up on radar. Here is a quote from the Brazilian Minister of Aeronautics, Brigadier General Otavio Moreira Lima:
“At least 20 objects were detected by Brazilian radars. They saturated the radars and interrupted traffic in the area. Each time that radar detected unidentified objects, fighters took off for intercept. Radar detects only solid metallic bodies and heavy (mass) clouds. There were no clouds nor conventional aircraft in the region. The sky was clear. Radar doesn’t have optical illusions. We can only give technical explanations and we don’t have them. It would be very difficult for us to talk about the hypothesis of an electronic war. It’s very remote and it’s not the case here in Brazil. It’s fantastic. The signals on the radar were quite clear.”
More Video Footage
When it comes to real footage of UFOs (unidentified flying objects), film from the 1991 NASA STS-48 Discovery Space Shuttle mission is definitely one at the top of the list. This footage is real, well documented, and has been the subject of rigorous scientific investigation by multiple researchers and institutions. (source)(source)(source)
The video below shows as many as a dozen objects moving in unusual fashion. Apart from that, the most fascinating part is when we see one object at a point near the horizon, as a flash occurs, followed by another object or stream that moves rapidly across the field of view, the object shoots off into space.
Clip of scientists from Norway capturing multiple UFOs on film.
The list goes on, even the Mexican Air Force has released their footage of UFOs from scrambled air craft, it made headlines but was attempted to be debunked by many mainstream media outlets .
Another example of someone who did their research, from the interviews I’ve watched of him he seemed very enthusiastic and passionate about changing the world.

Deliberate Deception: A Case of Disinformation in the UFO Research Community by Peter Robbins

RUSSIAN MISSILE BASE ENCOUTERS ALIEN DISC AT NIGHT
JULY 28-29, 1989 ……….. KAPUSTIN YAR RUSSIA
One of the most interesting cases in the KGB file is a multiple-witness CE-I (Close Encounter of the First Kind) at an army missile base in the district of Kapustin Yar, Astrakhan Region, on the night of July 28-29, 1989. The file is surely incomplete, but still offers an interesting glimpse into the maneuverability of UFOs. The dossier consists of the depositions of seven military witnesses (two junior officers, a corporal and four privates) plus illustrations of the object by the observers, and a brief case summary by an unnamed KGB officer. (Neither the author nor the department are identified, but the document is at the beginning of the KGB file on the Kapustin Yar incident). It states in part:
“Military personnel of the signal center observed UFOs in the period from 22:12 hrs. to 23:55 hrs. on 28 July 1989. According to the witnesses’ reports, they observed three objects simultaneously, at a distance of 3-5 km. [2-3 mi.].”
A nearby base reported the UFO from 23.30 hrs. on July 28 until 1.30 hrs. on July 29. The report continues:
“After questioning the witnesses, it was determined that the reported characteristics of the observed UFOs are: disc 4-5 m. [13-17 ft.] diameter, with a half-sphere on top, which is lit brightly. It moved sometimes abruptly, but noiselessly, at times coming down and hovering over ground at an altitude of 20-60 m. [65-200 ft.]. The command of [censored] called for a fighter… but it was not able to see it in detail, because the UFO did not let the aircraft come near it, evading it. Atmospheric conditions were suitable for visual observations.”
The KGB file on the case is obviously incomplete, since there is no data on the jet scramble mission or whether ground or airborne radar detection was also reported. Nevertheless, the hand written descriptions by the seven witnesses from the signal center do provide interesting reading about the flight behavior exhibited by the UFOs. The most detailed communication was submitted by the Officer-on-Duty, Ensign Valery N. Voloshin. A Captain from the telegraph center informed him at 23:20 hrs. that “an unidentified flying object, which he called a flying saucer, was hovering over the military unit for over an hour.” After confirming the sighting with the operation signal officer on duty, Ensign Voloshin and Private Tishchayev climbed the first part of an antenna tower. According to his deposition:
“One could clearly see a powerful blinking signal which resembled a camera flash in the night sky. The object flew over the unit’s logistics yard and moved in the direction of the rocket weapons depot, 300 meters [1,000 ft.] away. It hovered over the depot at a height of 20 meters [65 ft.]. The UFO’s hull shone with a dim green light which looked like phosphorous. It was a disc, 4 or 5 m. [13-17 ft.] in diameter, with a semispherical top.
“While the object was hovering over the depot, a bright beam appeared from the bottom of the disc, where the flash had been before, and made two or three circles, lighting the corner of one of the buildings… The movement of the beam lasted for several seconds, then the beam disappeared and the object, still flashing, moved in the direction of the railway station. After that, I observed the object hovering over the logistics yard, railway station and cement factory. Then it returned to the rocket weapons depot, and hovered over it at an altitude of 60-70 m. [200-240 ft.]. The object was observed from that time on, by the first guard-shift and its commander. At 1:30 hrs., the object flew in the direction of the city of Akhtubinsk and disappeared from sight. The flashes on the object were not periodical, I observed all this for exactly two hours: from 23:30 to 1:30.”
In 1989, at a military base and suspected underground facility near the nuclear test site of Kapustin Yar, members of two army units noticed a UFO which hovered for hours over the arsenal of the base. The KGB files contained the handwritten reports of the sighting. It flew over the stores of the unit and moved in the direction of the missile arsenal. When it hovered over the arsenal, a bright ray appeared on its underside.
Very little was known about UFO investigations in Russia and the republics of the former USSR during the communist era. UFOs were officially labeled “capitalist propaganda” in the 1950s and 1960s. A few scientists such as Professor Felix Zigel and Yuri Fomin documented UFO incidents, but their results were rarely published and circulated mostly in samizdat form. Ufology began to prosper in the early 1980s when “Commissions on Anomalous Phenomena” were established under the patronage of a few academicians.
Stories of secret military UFO investigations began to spread with glasnost, increasing with the break-up of the USSR. Retired military and intelligence officers were now speaking up and offering documents. One collection, covering a 10-year period of military UFO investigations between 1978 and 1988, was sold by its former director, Colonel Boris Sokolov, to American journalist George Knapp and to ABC News. In 1991, the Committee of State Security (KGB) declassified 124 pages of documents of “Cases of Observations of Anomalous Occurrences in the Territory of the USSR, 1982-1990,” covering a total of 17 regions.
Scott Waring, author of UFO Sightings Daily, says, “I was looking over Curiosity Rovers recent photos and found these two photos with a shaded skin in them. Its nice there are two. It make more evidence. The shaded skin is being looked at by a micro camera designed to see grains of sand and tiny details that a normal camera would of course over look. The images show a skin of some kind of tiny organism…insect size. At the bottom of the cocoon, there is an opening where the tiny creature crawled out. This cocoon looks to be about 2-3mm in length, but that is a best guess.
Date of discovery: August 14, 2014
Date of photos: Taken Oct 8, 2012 but received on Aug 14, 2014.
Waring adds, “A similar cocoon was found a while back and was found in a color photo. This may be the same creature, because the photos was taken in 2012, but sent to NASA on 2014. The real question is…if this photo was taken by the rover in 2012, why did the rover send it this week to NASA? Storage of photos for two years seems like a waste of Curiosity Rovers memory, when it can just send the photos to NASA.”
The most widely known period of cargo cult activity occurred among the Melanesian islanders in the years during and after World War II. A small population of indigenous peoples observed, often right in front of their dwellings, the largest war ever fought by technologically advanced nations. First, the Japanese arrived with a great deal of supplies and later the Allied forces did likewise.
The vast amounts of military equipment and supplies that both sides airdropped (or airlifted to airstrips) to troops on these islands meant drastic changes to the lifestyle of the islanders, many of whom had never seen outsiders before. Manufactured clothing, medicine, canned food, tents, weapons and other goods arrived in vast quantities for the soldiers, who often shared some of it with the islanders who were their guides and hosts. This was true of the Japanese Army as well, at least initially before relations deteriorated in most regions.
The John Frum cult, one of the most widely reported and longest-lived, formed on the island of Tanna, Vanuatu. This cult started before the war, and only became a cargo cult afterwards. Cult members worship certain “Americans” (such as John Frum and Tom Navy), who they claimed had brought cargo to their island during World War II, as the spiritual entity who would provide the cargo to them in the future.
Post-war With the end of the war, the military abandoned the airbases and stopped dropping cargo. In response, charismatic individuals developed cults among remote Melanesian populations that promised to bestow on their followers deliveries of food, arms, Jeeps, etc. The cult leaders explained that the cargo would be gifts from their own ancestors, or other sources, as had occurred with the outsider armies. In attempts to get cargo to fall by parachute or land in planes or ships again, islanders imitated the same practices they had seen the soldiers, sailors, and airmen use. Cult behaviors usually involved mimicking the day-to-day activities and dress styles of US soldiers, such as performing parade ground drills with wooden or salvaged rifles. The islanders carved headphones from wood and wore them while sitting in fabricated control towers. They waved the landing signals while standing on the runways. They lit signal fires and torches to light up runways and lighthouses.
In a form of sympathetic magic, many built life-size replicas of aeroplanes out of straw and cut new military-style landing strips out of the jungle, hoping to attract more aeroplanes. The cult members thought that the foreigners had some special connection to the deities and ancestors of the natives, who were the only beings powerful enough to produce such riches.
Cargo cults are typically created by individual leaders, or big men in the Melanesian culture, and it is not at all clear if these leaders were sincere, or were simply running scams on gullible populations. The leaders typically held cult rituals well away from established towns and colonial authorities, thus making reliable information about these practices very difficult to acquire.
Current cults Over the last sixty-five years, most cargo cults have disappeared. However, some cargo cults are still active including:
The John Frum cult on Tanna island (Vanuatu) The Tom Navy cult on Tanna island (Vanuatu) The Prince Philip Movement on the island of Tanna, worships Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II. Yali’s cargo cult on Papua New Guinea (Madang-region) The Paliau movement on Papua New Guinea (Manus island) The Peli association on Papua New Guinea The Pomio Kivung on Papua New Guinea Theoretical explanations Anthropologist Anthony F. C. Wallace conceptualized the “Tuka movement” as a revitalization movement.
Peter Worsley’s analysis of Cargo cults placed the emphasis on the economic and political causes of these popular movements. He viewed them as “proto-national” movements by indigenous peoples seeking to resist colonial interventions. He observed a general trend away from millenarianism towards secular political organization through political parties and cooperatives.
Theodore Schwartz was the first to emphasize that both Melanesians and Europeans place great value on the demonstration of wealth. “The two cultures met on the common ground of materialistic competitive striving for prestige through entrepreneurial achievement of wealth.” Melanesians felt “relative deprivation” in their standard of living, and thus came to focus on cargo as an essential expression of their personhood and agency.
This is a close-up of an unusual aerial object that was captured on video by a Canadian news crew during their coverage of a forest fire outside of Vancouver on July 17, 2014. | castanet.net
A video shot outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, during a forest fire unexpectedly captured a lot more than firefighting efforts.
On July 17, 2014, Castanet.net, a news organization in Western Canada, posted a video shot in West Kelowna — northeast of Vancouver — featuring efforts to stop the Smith Creek Wildfire.
Here’s the original Castanet.net video report, showing the UFO at approximately 26 seconds.
“In the news piece, a bright object appears from behind clouds above the fire area quickly moving left to right,” according to Castanet.net. The news site revealed the following description from a witness who noticed the unusual aerial object in the video:
Shot out from the clouds above the mountain during a forest fire near our neighborhood. It pulled a wisp of cloud with it as it exited.
A forest fire broke out on the mountain behind us and during the attempt to put it out, this event took place.
I was watching a video online of the fire from a little earlier in the day and I spotted the UFO 37 seconds in. I have no idea whether anyone else has noticed this or not. Most folks would be focused on the fire.
37 seconds into the video the UFO comes shooting out from a cloud right above the mountain and passes through a clear spot back into the next cloud. I was quite startled and surprised when I saw it.
The UFO left a thin trail of cloud vapor as it exited the cloud. This, to me, eliminates any thought that this might be a camera lens artifact or light phenomenon effect.
The event lasted only a few seconds. Judging by the distance I was from the object it had to have been moving very fast. The scene cuts away while the UFO is still visible. I’m left to assume that there must be more footage of it than I saw.
I phoned the website’s news department to ask if it would be possible to see the full footage, but was met with disapproval. In retrospect, perhaps I shouldn’t have mentioned the word UFO.
While no official explanation has surfaced about the UFO, OpenMinds.TV asked Marc Dantonio, chief photo and video analyst for the Mutual UFO Network, aka MUFON, to look at the video. He suggests the object could have been a bolide, a type of very bright meteor that streaks through Earth’s atmosphere.
“I am convinced that this was a really good find,” Dantonio told Open Minds. “It is an Earth-grazer, a meteor that approaches the atmosphere at a shallow angle, and continues on, skipping off the atmosphere back into space. Some of them will slow down enough to become trapped and fall to Earth but they many times just skip on off and keep going.
“This one does indeed show a vapor trail as it moves through, it does come out from behind the cloud, and it moves at a speed completely consistent with Earth-grazers.”
Watch this similar video of a bolide meteor from Mexico in 2013.
There’s one other interesting thing about the Canadian news video that may have been overlooked. YouTube commenter Joe Edwards observed something else in the sky in the same video footage:
“Did anyone notice the very next scene, it seems something dark and very fast flew from right to left across the screen, that was just as interesting,” Edwards wrote. “It occurs at about the 32-second mark.”
This object moves from the far right of the image to the far left, literally, at the blink of an eye. At first, one might assume it’s probably just an insect streaking by the camera. But, depending on how you look at it, it appears to slip behind trees and a telephone pole.
We asked HuffPost video editor Eva Hill to isolate the fast-moving object to see if it could be determined to fly in front of or behind the trees. We’ve included several screen grabs of the object in the following slideshow.

The top two photos are the same…I just color to the structures so that you could see them.
The top and bottom photo is the same, I just color to the structures so you can see them.
First you must know this is not a black and white photo, but an infrared photo. The Mariner 10 had an “8-postition filter wheel.” Each filter allows the camera to take a different kind of photo. The infrared filter is so powerful that if you pour ink onto a typed page, you can see right through the ink and read the words as if the ink never existed. That is what happened to the shadow areas on Mercury in this photo. The shadows hid a honeycomb-like structure that always varies in shape, but its smaller components resembles that of…a honeycomb. Other structures are located near hills and mountains to blend in at a distance. This is why normal photos of Mercury will not have these structures in them.
Infrared filter can see through ink and tinting to allow you to read thewords.
The top and bottom photo are the same, just added color to see the structures.
Long ago, four to five years ago I found a face…so new in appearance on the planet Mercury. It was massive in scale and appeared as if I was looking at the face of a statue here on Earth, but this was tens of floors high. I saved the photo and then a few days later a virus wiped out my whole computer. So it was gone. I still have the image of the face in my head, a black person, big forehead, chubby cheeks and confident. I had to find it again, so as I was looking I found these this particular photo with structures in it. Sure, this one is not the photo I was looking for, but the number of structures in it is staggering. People often misconstrue what an alien structure looks like when they see it…having only their past experience with humanity to build upon, and often those kind of human preferred structures are hard to find. Most alien structures look like black mountains (moon) or giant white mushrooms (moon), so finding a structure we can relate to is difficult.
Top and bottom photo are same, but added orange color to building.
Here I present to you some photos that have exactly what most of you imagine alien structures will look like. There are many buildings tall, short, long, most made to conform to how we see a civilised society. These structures look like they were built recently. They are whole, without breaks or fissures and clean with no dirt or dust blanketing them over time, which tells me…they are occupied.
The photo above and below are the same, I just added color so you can see the building.
And to the aliens on Mercury, I send greetings. Since your structures have some commonality to our own, then there must be other things we have in common. We the people are asking to meet you. Balls in your court. Scott C. Waring
The photo above and below are the same, I just added color.
The above and below photos are the same, I just added color so you can see them better.
I made the video, feel free to copy it, edit it, or download it share it on your own channel. Best in full screen mode! SCW
