Alien abduction thriller seeks to bring topic to the forefront
Filming for Abductee , a found-footage thriller about alien abduction, will soon be underway, but the movie’s producer says it “is more than just a film; it is a social movement.”
In their press release, the movie’s production company, Collective Minds Media, writes that they are not only beginning production on an alien abduction movie, but also developing an abductee support community.
The movie is described as, “a found-footage style film that explores the bizarre and misunderstood world of alien abduction. Through a first-person account, we come to know the fear and mental anguish that befalls a suburban man as he attempts to unravel the mystery of what happens to him when he is alone in the middle of the night.”
William Hopp
William Hopp, the movie’s writer and director says, “It is a psychological thriller that focuses on the emotional trauma that alien abductees go through on a day to day basis.”
Hopp says he did a lot of research when writing his script. Although it is a horror movie, he hopes the movie will have a therapeutic effect to people who believe they are experiencing alien abduction. He wants to help give alien abductees a voice.
The press release states, “It is the filmmakers’ goal that Abductee will illuminate the stigmatized world of alien abductees and provide them with a common bond to enable group support and healing.”
Hopp says most of the funding has come from crowd sourcing and that he has purposely sought non-traditional routes of funding in order to help keep the movie accurate. According to the press release, “Privately funding the film has allowed the filmmakers to produce a movie that enlists the support of abductees and alien experts from the ground up. Keeping investors out of the mix will keep the film free of the control exerted by Hollywood executives and movie studios, which can destroy a film’s purpose and impact.”
Paranormal expert James Smith feels the movie is treating the subject respectfully. He says, “I really agree the movie respects the community because it’s not making those effected out to be complete and total fringe weirdoes.”
Hopp appeared on Open Minds UFO Radio while seeking funds for production, but has come a long way since then. He has enlisted the help of Emmy award winning producer and director Trisha Krik. She won her Emmy in 2009 for her work on the popular A&E reality program Intervention.
They have also locked in the majority of the filming locations and their two leads, Virginia Newcomb and Dusty Sorg. The two have 25 years of accumulated experience in TV and film.

Odd distribution of organics in Titan’s atmosphere could be a sign of extraterrestrial life
A recent, brief observation of Saturn’s moon Titan revealed unusual groupings of organic molecules in the atmosphere.

Scientists made the discovery while observing Titan’s atmosphere using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile’s Atacama desert. “A single 3 minute observation revealed organic molecules that are askew in the atmosphere of Titan,” Universe Today explains. “The molecules in question should be smoothly distributed across the atmosphere, but they are not.”
Universe Today points out that, “When one hears there is a strange, skewed combination of organic compounds somewhere, the first thing to come to mind is life.” So far, researchers don’t have an obvious explanation for the discovery. But they are exploring other possible causes.

“These ALMA observations give us new insights into how organic molecules, the building blocks of life, form and evolve in a planet-like environment,” says astronomer Anthony Remijan of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. “It is exciting to imagine the new discoveries ALMA will enable as we look more deeply at other interesting objects in our Solar System.”
The research on these unexpected variations in Titan’s atmosphere was published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Another powerful tool in the hunt for extraterrestrial life, the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT), is currently under construction, and is also in Chile’s Atacama desert. This tool will be the world’s largest optical and infrared telescope when it is completed in 2024, and it will have the ability to directly image exoplanets and study the atmospheres of planets, helping scientists identify worlds that may support life as we know it.

CuriosityTijdens zijn eerste twee jaren op Mars ontdekte NASA's Curiosity dat er ooit leven mogelijk was op de Rode Planeet. Een gigantische ontdekking, waar tien jaren van voorbereidingen, technische moeilijkheden en overwinningen aan vooraf gingen. In zijn boek 'Mars Rover Curiosity' biedt hoofdingenieur Rob Manning een exclusieve blik achter de schermen van het project.
'Mars Rover Curiosity, An inside account from Curiosity's chief engineer' biedt de lezer een getuigenverslag van de planning en de bouw van het meest complexe staaltje machinerie dat ooit ontworpen is om op een andere planeet te landen. Technische uitdagingen, bezuinigingen en ontwerpwijzigingen achtervolgden het team, wat uiteindelijk leidde tot twee jaar uitstel van de missie.
Maar tien jaar en twee miljard dollar later kan het team het ene succes na het andere vieren. Afgelopen zomer vierde de Curiosity zijn tweede verjaardag op Mars. In die tijd deed de Marswagen tal van baanbrekende ontdekkingen. Een overzicht.
Een van zijn eerste ontdekkingen deed de Curiosity al vlak na de landing op Mars. In september 2012 vond de Marsjeep rotsen die vermoedelijk afgerond en afgevlakt waren door een oude rivier. De lagen van het grondgesteente zijn volgens wetenschappers het bewijs dat er ooit een kniediepe waterstroom was. Waar het water naartoe ging, is nog niet duidelijk: mogelijk verdween het in de rotsen of verdampte het in de atmosfeer.
Leven op Mars?
In december 2012 maakte NASA groot nieuws bekend. De Curiosity had in de bodem van de Rode Planeet heel wat tekenen van leven gevonden. Uit metingen bleek dat de juiste omstandigheden er aanwezig waren om levende microben te ondersteunen. Door in de gesteenten te boren, ontdekte de Marsjeep de sleutelingrediënten die leven mogelijk maken: koolstof, waterstof, zuurstof, fosfor en zwavel. De kleimineralen en het weinige zout die gevonden werden, wijzen uit dat er ooit drinkbaar water geweest kan zijn.
Het beste bewijs dat tot nu toe gevonden werd, zijn foto's van kiezelstenen die de Curiosity nam in de Gale-krater. De stenen zijn samengesteld uit zand, zoals typisch in rivierbeddingen op Aarde. Wanneer stenen door wind en zandstormen verweren, worden ze rauw en hoekig. Maar volgens wetenschappers is te zien dat nagenoeg alle van de 515 geanalyseerde kiezelstenen vlak, glad en afgeslepen zijn.
Aan de hand van gegevens die de Curiosity in zijn eerste 300 dagen op de planeet verzamelde, kon in mei 2013 voor het eerst worden vastgesteld aan hoeveel straling astronauten worden blootgesteld tijdens een reis naar Mars. De stralingen overschrijden de limiet die NASA vooropstelt. Op basis van deze informatie kunnen ruimtevaartuigen en ruimtepakken gebouwd worden die mensen tijdens verre ruimtereizen kunnen beschermen.
In september 2013 stelde NASA vast dat de Curiosity nog geen enkel spoor van methaan had gevonden in de atmosfeer van Mars. Dat doet de kans dat er leven is slinken. Levende organismen, zoals wij die kennen, produceren methaan. Om te bewijzen dat er ooit leven op Mars was, gingen wetenschappers daarom op zoek naar deze substantie. De zoektocht gaat intussen nog steeds verder.
Wetenschappers verwonderen zich over de variëteit aan grond- en steensoorten die gevonden werden in de Gale-krater. De Curiosity ontdekte er verschillende soorten grind, vulkanische gesteenten, duinen, moddergesteenten en barsten vol mineralen. Uit foto's blijkt overigens dat de rode stof die de planeet kenmerkt maar een dun laagje is. Daaronder is Mars wit.
Onlangs bereikte de Marsjeep zijn ultieme bestemming, Mount Sharp. De Curiosity zal de komende jaren de geologische lagen van de berg onderzoeken.
COMPLOTTHEORIE'Jackie', een vrouw die beweert een ex-werkneemster van NASA te zijn, zegt dat ze samen met zes collega's in 1979 op videobeelden twee menselijke wezens in ruimtepakken op Mars heeft gezien. De twee zouden rustig rond het ruimtevaartuig Viking gewandeld hebben. Dat zou bewijs leveren van de meest gigantische cover-up in de ruimtevaartgeschiedenis. Als het waar is natuurlijk...
Een en ander kwam aan de oppervlakte toen 'Jackie' haar verhaal via een radioprogramma vertelde aan John Lear, een voormalige CIA-piloot, ufoloog en een bekende aanhanger van complottheorieën. Het audiofragment werd op YouTube gepost en de bal ging aan het rollen.
De vrouw zegt dat ze bij NASA samen met zes collega's beelden van de Viking op verscheidene monitors aan het bekijken was, toen ze plots twee mannen in ruimtepak zag. "Niet die volumineuze die wij normaal gebruikten, maar toch beschermpakken. Ze wandelden naar de Viking." De Viking Mars Lander was de voorloper van Marsjeep Curiosity en het eerste vehikel dat foto's van de oppervlakte van de rode planeet naar de aarde kon sturen.
Plots geen beeld meer En toen werden de beelden stopgezet, zegt 'Jackie'. Ze ging vervolgens naar boven, maar de deur was op slot en afgeplakt met papier om het zicht te beletten. Haar vraag aan Lear was of de bewuste kerels die ze had gezien al dan niet collega's van NASA waren.
John Lear, die eerder onder meer al beweerde dat NASA in 1966 op Mars was geland, antwoordde dat het waarschijnlijk technici van NASA waren die herstellingen uitvoerden aan de Viking. De lichte ruimtepakken waren volgens hem zelfs niet nodig omdat de mens zich kan aanpassen aan de atmosfeer van Mars.
Bedenkelijk Het YouTube-fragment werd in september gepost maar zegt niks over de datum van uitzending op de radio. Het is opvallend dat 'Jackie' het over een "27-jaar oud mysterie" heeft, terwijl 1979 inmiddels 35 jaar geleden is. Niemand van haar collega's heeft haar verhaal tot nog toe bevestigd.
John Lear heeft dan weer een heel bedenkelijke reputatie als liefhebber van samenzweringstheorieën. Officieel heeft er nog nooit een mens een voet op Mars gezet. Maar sommigen geloven in geheime landingen op de rode planeet in de jaren 60 en 70 van vorige eeuw.
Mars Onderzoek van de succesrijke robotjeep Mars Curiosity heeft geleerd dat de berg Mount Sharp in het landingsgebied door... water is gevormd. Dat heeft het Amerikaanse ruimtevaartbureau NASA vandaag gemeld. De vondst heeft nog grotere implicaties.
De Curiosity is geland in de Gale-krater en daar staat zowaar een vijf km hoge berg, de Mount Sharp. De onderste flanken ervan bestaan uit honderden dunne lagen rotsgesteente.
De berg lijkt te zijn gevormd door sedimentatie, waarbij een groot meer in de loop van tientallen miljoenen jaren laag na laag heeft afgezet. Die verschillende sedimentslagen zijn afwisselend gevormd door het meer, dan weer door de wind en dan weer door een stromende rivier
Dat zou betekenen dat Mars vroeger een klimaat heeft gekend, waarin grote meren lange tijd konden bestaan. Dat staat haaks op de nu geldende theorie die zegt dat warme en natte condities slechts tijdelijk en lokaal voorkwamen of zelfs ondergronds waren.

45 - PARANORMAL:Experiencing psychic or odd experiences including intuition. 46 - COMPULSIVE/ADDICTIVE:This behavior either throughout your life or onset at adulthood. (I have had this problem, throughout my life.)
47 - URGE TO TAKE VITAMINS:Do you feel compelled to take more vitamins as the years pass? Do you feel somehow it is helping ‘replenish’ your body? (I started taking a lot of vitamins at age 50. I kept telling myself it was just because I wanted to be ‘healthy’.) 48 - AFRAID OF THE CLOSET:Have you ever been or are you now afraid of your closet or any closet in the house, having to make certain the door(s) are always shut? 49 - SEXUAL OR RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS:Have had or are having an odd feeling that you must not become involved in a relationship because it would interfere with something. 50 - REMAIN VIGILANT:Fear that if you do not remain vigilant you will be taken away by someone. 51 - DIFFICULTY TRUSTING:Have trouble trusting other people, especially authority figures such as doctors. 54 - SLEEP AGAINST THE WALL: You feel you must have your bed against the wall.
55 - LOCKING ALL DOORS:You double and triple-check locking up at night to prevent something or someone getting into your home. (I am still compulsive about that, from time to time.) 56 - CHILDREN OR PARENTS:Have talked about things on this list or you have heard them talk to others about things on this list.
57 - NO SUCCESS:You have tried to resolve some of these problems in your mind but with little success.
58 - NO RECALL: You have experienced many of these traits but cannot remember anything related to any abduction experience.

IFC Midnight is making it clear thatUFOs and aliens are a key focus in the company’s content portfolio. The subsidiary of AMC Networks acquired distribution rights to two UFO-related films earlier this year: Hangar 10 and Extraterrestrial. And, this distribution label has reportedly just acquired distribution rights for another UFO-related movie titled Ejecta.

Entertainment news website Bloody Disgusting describes that, in Ejecta, “reclusive UFO conspiracy theorist William Cassidy is taken prisoner by a secret government agency investigating the arrival of an alien life form. Through flashbacks they uncover the terrifying details of what happened the night the alien returned and changed everything we thought we knew about the universe.”
The movie was written by Tony Burgess, directed by Chad Archibald and Matt Wiele, and produced by independent studio Foresight Features. Dee Wallace, the mom from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, makes a cameo in this film. The film also stars Julian Richings, Lisa Houle, and Adam Seybold.

Ejecta premiered back in August at the 2014 Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. It’s unclear what IFC Midnight has planned for the movie. But, if it follows the same formula used for Hangar 10 and Extraterrestrial, the movie will soon be made available as video-on-demand, and released in select theaters.
In 1976 four friends in their early 20s went camping in rural Maine. On the second night, they noticed a very bright light but nothing more. On the third night, they decided to try night fishing. In the canoe, they noticed the bright light again. One of the men used a flashlight to flash light in an SOS pattern at the light.
The light then expanded and enveloped all four men.
That’s the last thing they remember. They “woke up” back at their campsite with no recollection of what ended up happening with the light or how they got off the water. The fire they’d stoked up before they left just minutes ago (intending it to still be burning when they returned) was completely burned down to embers.
Jack Weiner was the first to start having nightmares. In these dreams, he saw beings with long necks and large heads. He saw the beings examining his arm while Jim, Chuck, and Charlie sat on a nearby bench, not able to intervene.
The beings had large metallic glowing eyes with no lids, and their hands were insect-like, with four fingers. The other three men were experiencing very similar dreams, with short, mental clips of that night on the lake. In 1988, out of curiosity, Jim Weiner attended a UFO conference hosted by Raymond Fowler.
Weiner met Fowler afterwards and related his strange encounter. The investigator was excited about Jim’s story, especially the fact that it was a multiple witness occurrence. Fowler suggested to Jim that he and the others undergo regressive hypnosis. After the sessions it was revealed that all four of the men had memories of being abducted and subjected to humiliating physical examinations, including the taking of skin and fluid samples.
The description of the aliens was consistent. The four men – being artists – were able to make detailed sketches of the entities, the craft, and the examining instruments. Chuck Rak added that the aliens’ test area was similar to a vet’s office, with a silvery table. He also related a strange fact: he had much difficulty in focusing on the aliens. When he tried, he could not put an exact image to them. He compared it to trying to tune in a fuzzy radio station.
After the psychiatric examinations, all four of the men were deemed to be mentally stable, and they all passed lie-detector tests.
In 1973 two coworkers were fishing off a pier on the Pascagoula River when they heard a buzzing sound and saw flashing blue lights. A UFO appeared and three humanoid creatures dragged them on board. Inside the craft they were examined for about 20 minutes before being “levitated” back to the pier.
CHARLIE: I’ve never seen nothin’ like that before in my life. You can’t make people believe- CALVIN: I don’t want to keep sittin’ here. I want to see a doctor- CHARLIE: They better wake up and start believin’… they better start believin’. CALVIN: You see how that damn door come right up? CHARLIE: I don’t know how it opened, son. I don’t know. CALVIN: It just laid up and just like that those son’ bitches-just like that they come out. CHARLIE: I know. You can’t believe it. You can’t make people believe it- CALVIN: I paralyzed right then. I couldn’t move- CHARLIE: They won’t believe it. They gonna believe it one of these days. Might be too late. I knew all along they was people from other worlds up there. I knew all along. I never thought it would happen to me.
In 1961 a married couple (both “normal” by all accounts and leaders in their community) were driving home from a vacation at Niagara Falls when they saw what they thought was a falling star, but it moved around in the sky and began to grow bigger. They decided to drive slowly along the road and follow the light as it grew closer to them in the sky, eventually stopping in the middle of the highway as the object hovered only 80-100 feet from them.
At this point Barney Hill commits a horror movie no-no and gets out of the car to get a closer look. After seeing a craft with 8-11 “humanoid” creatures in black uniforms on it. He screamed “They’re going to capture us!” and ran back to the car and the couple drove home.
Arriving home at about dawn, the Hills assert that they had some odd sensations and impulses they could not readily explain: Betty insisted their luggage be kept near the back door rather than in the main part of the house. Their watches would never run again. Barney noted that the leather strap for the binoculars was torn, though he could not recall it tearing. The toes of his best dress shoes were inexplicably scraped. Barney says he was compelled to examine his genitals in the bathroom, though he found nothing unusual. They took long showers to remove possible contamination and each drew a picture of what they had observed. Their drawings were strikingly similar.
Perplexed, the Hills say they tried to reconstruct the chronology of events as they witnessed the UFO and drove home. But immediately after they heard the buzzing sounds, their memories became incomplete and fragmented. They vaguely recalled a luminous moon shape sitting on the road. Barney recalled saying “Oh no, not again”. Betty thought Barney had taken a sharp left turn off Route 3.
After sleeping for a few hours, Betty awoke and placed the shoes and clothing she had worn during the drive into her closet, observing that the dress was torn at the hem, zipper and lining. Later, when she retrieved the items from her closet, she noted a pinkish powder on her dress. She hung the dress on her clothesline and the pink powder blew away. But the dress was irreparably damaged. She threw it away, but then changed her mind, retrieving the dress and hanging it in her closet. Over the years, five laboratories have conducted chemical and forensic analyses on the dress.
There were shiny, concentric circles on their car’s trunk that had not been there the previous day. Betty and Barney experimented with a compass, noting that when they moved it close to the spots, the needle would whirl rapidly. But when they moved it a few inches away from the shiny spots, it would drop down.
As time passed, Betty and Barney remembered more and more details of their abduction. Here is a map of a solar system constructed from hypnotherapy sessions:
Antônio Vilas Boas was a Brazilian farmer who was working at night because it was too hot to work during the day when he saw a red star in the sky. As the light grew larger (closer) he tried to drive away in his tractor, but it died. He then tried running away when he was accosted by four humanoid creatures that dragged him into the now landed craft.
They stripped him, covered him with a weird gel, and then took blood samples. This is where things get weird(er). A female humanoid creature appeared…and they had sex. Some hand motions followed that Boas took to mean he had impregnated the creature and that she was going to leave, have the child, and raise it wherever she was from. Then, they gave him a tour of their spaceship before dropping him off.
He went on to become a lawyer and have a family, if that means anything to you as to whether he was crazy.

What is a Comet?
A comet is a very small solar system body made mostly of ices mixed with smaller amounts of dust and rock. Most comets are no larger than a few kilometres across. The main body of the comet is called the nucleus, and it can contain water, methane, nitrogen and other ices.
When a comet is heated by the Sun, its ices begin to sublimate (similar to the way dry ice “fizzes” when you leave it in sunlight). The mixture of ice crystals and dust blows away from the comet nucleus in the solar wind, creating a pair of tails. The dust tail is what we normally see when we view comets from Earth.
A plasma tail also forms when molecules of gas are “excited” by interaction with the solar wind. The plasma tail is not normally seen with the naked eye, but can be imaged. Comets normally orbit the Sun, and have their origins in the Oort Cloud and Kuiper Belt regions of the outer solar system.
Comet Naming
Comets come in several categories. The most common are periodic and non-periodic.
In the past, comets were named for their discoverers, such as Comet Halley for Sir Edmond Halley. In modern times, comet names are governed by rules set forth by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). A comet is given an official designation, and can also be identified by the last names of up to three independent discoverers.
Here’s how it works. Once a comet has been confirmed, the following naming rules are followed. First, if the comet is a periodic comet, then it is indicated with a P/ followed by the year of its discovery, a letter indicating the half-month in which it was discovered, followed by a number indicating its order of discovery. So, for example, the second periodic comet found in the first half of January, 2015 would be called P/2015 A2.
A non-periodic comet would be indicated with a C/ followed by the year of its discovery, a letter indicating the half-month in which it was discovered, followed by a number indicating its order of discovery.
If a comet is independently discovered by three people named Smith, Jones, and Petersen, it could also be called Comet Smith-Jones-Petersen, in addition to its formal designation. Today, many comets are found through automated instrument searches, and so the formal designations are more commonly used.
Famous Comets
Well-known comets include the non-periodic comets Hale-Bopp (C/1995 O1), Hyakutake (C/1996 B2), McNaught (C2006 P1), and Lovejoy (C/2011 W3). These flared brightly in our skies and then faded into obscurity.
In addition, Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 (D/1993 F2) was spotted after it had broken up after a close call with Jupiter. (The D in its proper designation means it has disappeared or is determined to no longer exist). More than a year later, the pieces of the comet crashed into Jupiter.
The periodic Comet Halley (1P/Halley) is the most famous in history. It returns to the inner solar system once every 76 years. Other well-known periodic comets include 2P/Encke, which appears ever 3.3 years and 9P/Tempel (Tempel 2), which was visited by the Deep Impact and Stardust probes, and makes perihelion around the Sun every 5.5 years.

There are many misconceptions about comets, which are simply pieces of solar system ices travelling in orbit around the Sun. Here are some fascinating and true facts about comets.
The nucleus of a comet is made of ice and can be as small as a few meters across to giant boulders a few kilometres across.
The closest point in a comet’s orbit to the Sun is called “perihelion”. The most distant point is called “aphelion”.
As a comet gets closer to the Sun, it begins to experience heat. That causes some of its ices to sublimate (similar to dry ice sizzling in sunlight). If the ice is close to the comet’s surface, it may form a small “jet” of material spewing out from the comet like a mini-geyser.
Material streams from comets and populates the comet’s orbit. If Earth (or another planet) happens to move through that stream, those particles fall to Earth as meteor showers.
As a comet gets close to the Sun, it loses some of its mass due to the sublimation. If a comet goes around enough times, it will eventually break up. Comets also break up if they come TOO close to the Sun or another planet in their orbits.
Comets are usually made of frozen water and supercold methane, ammonia and carbon dioxide ices. Those are mixed with rock, dust, and other metallic bits of solar system debris.
Comets have two tails: a dust tail (which you can see with the naked eye) and a plasma tail, which is easily photographed but difficult to see with your eyes.
Comet orbits are usually elliptical.
Many comets formed in the Oort Cloud and Kuiper Belts, two of the outermost regions of the solar system.
Comets are not spaceships or alien bases. They are fascinating bits of solar system material that date back to the formation of the Sun and planets.

AIR FORCE PILOT CHASES ALIEN CRAFT OVER FARGO OCTOBER 1, 1948………… FARGO NORTH DAKOTA
One of the early “classics” of UFO history involved Lieutenant George F. Gorman of the North Dakota Air National Guard, who said he had a twenty-seven minute “dogfight” with a UFO in the skies above Fargo. Date: October 1, 1948-Location: Fargo, North Dakota. Gorman, then manager of a Fargo construction company, told this story to Air Force investigators: On the night of October 1, 1948, he had been on a cross-country flight with his squadron. Upon return to Hector airport in Fargo, he elected to log some night flying time, so he remained airborne after the other planes had landed. He had circled his F-51 over the lighted football stadium and around the city and was preparing to land about 9 P.M. The control tower cleared him to land, advising him about a Piper Cub in the vicinity – the only other plane – and he could see the light aircraft outlined plainly about 500 feet below him. What appeared to be the taillight of a plane passed him on the right, but the tower insisted they knew of no other planes in the area. Gorman informed the tower that he was going to investigate the other aircraft and pulled his F-51 up and out toward the moving light. He closed to within about 1,000 yards and took a good look at the object. “It was about six to eight inches in diameter, clear white, and completely round without fuzz at the edges [i.e., sharp and clear]. It was blinking on and off. As I approached, however, the light suddenly became steady and pulled into a sharp left bank. I thought it was making a pass at the tower. I dived after it and brought my manifold pressure up to sixty inches but I couldn’t catch up with the thing. It started gaining altitude and again made a left bank, I put my F-51 into a sharp turn and tried to cut the light off in its turn. By then we were at about 7,000 feet. Suddenly it made a sharp right turn and we headed straight at each other. Just when we were about to collide, I guess I got scared. I went into a dive and the light passed over my canopy at about 500 feet. Then, it made a left circle about 1,000 feet above, and I gave chase again.” Gorman said he cut sharply toward the light, which was once more coming at him. When collision again seemed imminent, the object shot straight up into the air in a steep climb-out, disappearing overhead. Gorman again attempted to pursue it but his plane went into a power stall at about 14,000 feet, and the object was not seen again. It was then 9:27 P.M. Gorman was so shaken by the encounter that he had difficulty handing his plane, although he was a veteran pilot and a flying instructor during World War II. He had noticed no sound, odor, or exhaust trail from the object during the “dogfight,” and no deviation on his instruments. At times during the chase, he had pushed the F-51 to full power, sometimes reaching 400 mph. He described the object as round and somewhat flattened.
In the airport control tower, traffic controllers Lloyd D. Jensen and H. E. Johnson also saw a strange light near the airfield: “After passing to the east of the airport it seemed to take a northwest heading, The object seemed to be at about 2,000 feet and appeared to be traveling at quite an excessive speed compared to a Piper Cub that was east of the field at the time. No definite outline could be identified. Both objects [the UFO and the Piper Cub] were sighted at the same time.” Jensen said that through binoculars he sighted, “an object or a light traveling at a high rate of speed, apparently on a southwest heading. The F-51 [Gorman’s plane] was some distance behind and the object was traveling fast enough to increase the spacing between itself and the fighter. The object appeared to be only a round light, perfectly formed, with no fuzzy edges or rays leaving its body. The edges were clear cut. No other shape was observed. The main identifying characteristic was the high rate of speed at which it was apparently traveling.” The pilot of the Piper Cub, Dr. A. E. Cannon, and his passenger, Einar Nielson, also witnessed the swiftly moving light while in radio communication with the tower: “While circling the football field at NDAC at 1,600 feet, Fargo tower advised us that there was an F-51 in the air and a few moments later asked us who the third plane might be,” Cannon said, “We had noticed the 51 and when we were over the north side of Hector field going west, a light, seemingly on a plane, passed above and to the north, moving very swiftly toward the west. At first we thought it was the 51, but we then saw the light of the 51 higher and move over the field. We landed on Runway 3, taxied to the administration building, and went up to the tower and listened to the calls from the 51, which seemed to be trying to overtake the plane or lighted object, which then went southwest and over the city. The object was moving very swiftly, much faster than the 51. We tried to get a better view with a pair of binoculars, but couldn’t follow it well enough.” In a statement to Major D. C. Jones, commander of the 17th Fighter Squadron at Hector airport, Gorman said he was convinced that there was “thought” behind the maneuvers: “I am also convinced that the object was governed by the laws of inertia because its acceleration was rapid but not immediate, and although it was able to turn fairly tight at considerable speed, it still followed a natural curve.” The object could outturn and outspeed the F-51, he said, and was able to attain a much steeper climb and to maintain a constant rate of climb far in excess of the F-51. “When I attempted to turn with the object, I blacked out temporarily due to excessive speed,” Gorman stated. “I am in fairly good physical condition and I do not believe there are many, if any, pilots who could withstand the turn effected by the light and remain conscious.” George F. Gorman retired from the Air Force in 1969 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and was then living in Texas.

Video #1: On this video you will see an Energy U.F.O Ball of Light traveling overhead…..When Scanning the skies an Energy ball was captured on Film..Traveling at high altitude.(used the top pf the tree/roof tops as Reference points). .I did not hear any noise coming from this unknown object…As you can see on the video these object seems to be emitting some kind of glowing energy…In my opinion this glowing energy U.F.O was clearly no aircraft or satellite ..

S72 9BX Nr Barnsley – 05.12.14 Around 11:45 today, coming from the North there was three bright lights in the sky (one had a with a flashing light, much like the planes coming from that direction from a flight path). However, the other two did not and they were off just bright. My husband, Son and I watched these three light all in formation for approximately a couple of minutes until and fourth and I thought a possible fifth were also seen and were flying away together at the same altitude. They were very high in the sky but there was no noise to say there were four/possibly five in a (NIKE brand tick formation ). I have taken two photos as I was rushing around trying to find the camera, one I cannot see anything having viewed it, the others seem to be reflective orbs from the camera. I don’t know if you can view anything yourself from these photos, and I am not sure if I even took them at the right angle point. I will sent them anyway. My husband and I have seen many strange lights in that direction (however because there is a flight path around here I am always cynical). The lights we saw tonight were really interesting and something that we have not seen before.

Kirkintilloch, Glasgow Scotland G66 1DE – 30th November 2014 At about 8.15 am I saw two typically ufo shaped objects (cigar shaped) in the clear blue sky. They were parallel to each other, and at an angle of about 45 degrees to the horizon. From my position, they appeared to be to the east of Kirkintilloch. One looked to have a light at the lower end. I was only able to focus on one object at a time, using small pocket binoculars. After a few minutes, I changed position to look at the other object, but it had gone. I then continued to watch the first one, which was the one with the light at the bottom end, which remained stationary for perhaps 5 minutes, then slowly, but at a steady speed, it moved off in an upwards direction, until I could no longer see it. Today I told a friend about this, and she told me there had been some sonic boom type noises heard in the UK over the week end, and I wondered if there might be some connection. Sorry, but i have no photos.
Zondagavond hadden twee mensen in Haarlem een onverwachte buitenaardse ontmoeting, vergezeld van een serieuze waarschuwing voor de mensheid.
Het is niet voor niets dat Haarlem de laatste dagen te kampen heeft met onverklaarbare stroomuitval, knallen in de lucht en oranje wolken.
Zondagavond laat ontvingen wij berichten van een jong stel uit Haarlem die volkomen verbouwereerd waren over de dingen die ze eerder die avond hadden meegemaakt.
Het is bovendien een stel dat nooit eerder iets te maken heeft gehad met UFO's en/of buitenaardsen en waarvan de man zei: “eigenlijk had ik nooit wat met ufo's of dat soort dingen , gewoon rustig saai leven”
Zondagavond rond een uur of negen besluit het stel, waarvan de vrouw 25 weken zwanger is, om nog even een klein rondje te lopen voor het slapen gaan. Dit doen ze dan in de Zuiderpolder in Haarlem, in de buurt van een weiland, niet ver van de plaatselijke IKEA.
Toen, in hun eigen woorden, gebeurde het volgende:
"Nu komt het dus uit het niks was er in een keer vanuit het weiland een soort storing in ons zicht , mijn vrouw spreekt alleen Engels en ik was verbaasd naar haar reactie ik dacht dat het aan mij lag maar zij had het ook.
Alsof je een seconde lang een soort ruis ziet. Nog nooit eerder ervaren dus maar ze zei, “Did you just see that blur? Like TV snow? Ja haar Engels is niet optimaal maar toch.
Op het weiland stond wat , het is donker maar de schaduw van een bolvormig iets stond er op (ik schat 10 meter hoog, 20 breed ). Het weiland is normaal alleen bewoond door ganzen en eenden, die allemaal weg waren.
Een man kwam naar ons toe, zei niks maar ik en mijn vrouw kregen de zelfde boodschap: Behoed je zelf voor wat er gaat komen bescherm je kind en verlaat dit land ga naar Maleisië, of all places Maleisië waarom weet ik niet . Maar moest het Borneo eiland zijn . Het werd niet benoemd maar in beeld gebracht niet visueel. Tja kan het niet zo goed uitleggen als je het zelf niet gehad heb.
Het was geen gray zoals ik opgezocht heb zag er niet uit zoals een gray. Maar hij behoede ons voor de grays, die een vaccin uit zouden brengen voor ebola. Maar daarmee ook de controle over de mens gaan krijgen. 2015 .
En dan nog dit:
“Helaas geen foto kunnen nemen want mijn telefoon en die van mijn vriendin gingen spontaan uit en naar 0% charge”
De boodschap en de waarschuwing over het Ebolavaccin en hoe op deze manier de Grays totale wereldcontrole willen krijgen, is duidelijk.
De vrouw van het stel voegt er het volgende aan toe: “Please make sure other people will know”.
We zijn vervolgens wat dieper ingegaan over hoe deze buitenaardse er precies uit zag.
“Okay , nou de gedaante rustig beschrijven, Lang, wit. Het was donker, wel nacht licht maar ik denk dat hij wel 3 meter was".
Dat klinkt als de beschrijving van een zogenaamde Nordic alien en op onze vraag of deze er ongeveer zo uit zag als de volgende foto, kwam het volgende antwoord:
"Ja zoals die vrouw maar een man , helaas kan ik niet goed tekenen. Een man, lang, langer als een mens met een gewaad vergelijkbaar met een badjas maar van gladde stof. Mijn vrouw zegt ogen als een gewoon mens maar, hij keek anders".

Even later komt de man met het volgende:
"Ebola komt er aan en het is geen ebola, daar kwam het op neer. En dat de grijzen het vaccineren maar dit de hele opzet is naar een groter plan. Ze gaan mensen in enten verplichten, na een periode van chaos. 2015 word er iets bekend uit America over grijzen, met als verkoop praatje de redders van de epidemie, maar hoe kan ik dit gezien hebben? Wacht, er komen allemaal mensen naar buiten in de straat, even kijken".
De reden dat die mensen tegen middernacht ondertussen de straat opliepen, was omdat er een onverklaarbare stroomuitval was in een bepaald gedeelte van de wijk zoals je op de volgende foto kunt zien.
Aan de linkerkant van de foto is alles donker.
En dan komt het volgende:
"Mensen die vroegen waarom onze kant alleen geen stroom had en gingen weer naar binnen Stroom is al weer terug, scheen onweer inslag te zijn maar ik heb niks gehoord van onweer en buienradar staat niks wel een knal, maar dat kan vuurwerk zijn gaat de hele week al met die kinderen hier."
Ook dit is iets dat we de laatste weken veelvuldig hebben meegemaakt. Een harde knal, die op onweer lijkt, maar geen onweer is. En dit wordt even later ook hier weer bevestigd:
“Slapen gaat het niet worden, even bevestiging, geen wolken alleen de maan kraak helder, dus geen onweer”
En even later:
“Nu echt een knal buiten, te hard voor vuurwerk, oranje wolken, wacht maak foto”.
Zo hebben we misschien wel het meest interessante verhaal van dit jaar.
Alles waar wij de afgelopen tijd over hebben geschreven, lijkt hier samen te vallen in één gebeurtenis.

Dan nog even een aantal punten omtrent deze ontmoeting/gebeurtenis op een rijtje:
We hebben te maken met een jong stel dat geen enkele ervaring heeft met UFO's en/of buitenaardsen en daar ook weinig of geen kennis van heeft.
Toch sluit hun verhaal naadloos aan bij de gebeurtenissen van de afgelopen weken.
Wanneer ze een foto willen maken, blijken de batterijen van beide telefoons opeens op onverklaarbare wijze leeg.
Er is een stroomuitval in de wijk waarin ze wonen. Dit is trouwens niet de eerste keer de afgelopen dagen dat er een onverklaarbare stroomuitval in Haarlem plaatsvond.
Ze zijn tijd “kwijt”: “We gingen om 9 uur wandelen. ik zie net dat we twee uur buiten zijn geweest !!!! Hoe kan dat nou weer? We waren max 10 minuten rondje ... ik snap er niks meer van”.
Ze horen enkele keren een knal in de lucht, terwijl er geen onweer is.
De wolken krijgen ineens een soort oranje gloed.
Tot zover de feiten.
Dan als laatste nog een stukje omschrijving van het stel, over hoe het voelde.
“Beetje vreemd maar mijn vrouw wilde toe voegen vlak voor dat we hem zagen. We remember soort storing gevoel , ze omschreef het mooi, alsof je te lang op je arm gelegen heb maar dan visueel in gedachten, alsof je de juiste frequentie zoekt op een radio , en toen dat weg was zagen we hem , eerst vroeg ze aan me of ik het ook had , en toen eerst rustig gevoel en de rest weet je”.
Deel dit verhaal waar mogelijk. Enerzijds omdat dit verslag zonder enige twijfel aantoont dat de buitenaardsen volop aanwezig zijn en anderzijds vanwege de waarschuwing die door hem is afgegeven.
Als hij al die moeite heeft gedaan om enkele aardlingen te waarschuwen dan is het minste wat wij kunnen doen het verspreiden van die boodschap.
Zondagavond hadden twee mensen in Haarlem een onverwachte buitenaardse ontmoeting, vergezeld van een serieuze waarschuwing voor de mensheid.
Het is niet voor niets dat Haarlem de laatste dagen te kampen heeft met onverklaarbare stroomuitval, knallen in de lucht en oranje wolken.
Zondagavond laat ontvingen wij berichten van een jong stel uit Haarlem die volkomen verbouwereerd waren over de dingen die ze eerder die avond hadden meegemaakt.
Het is bovendien een stel dat nooit eerder iets te maken heeft gehad met UFO's en/of buitenaardsen en waarvan de man zei: “eigenlijk had ik nooit wat met ufo's of dat soort dingen , gewoon rustig saai leven”
Zondagavond rond een uur of negen besluit het stel, waarvan de vrouw 25 weken zwanger is, om nog even een klein rondje te lopen voor het slapen gaan. Dit doen ze dan in de Zuiderpolder in Haarlem, in de buurt van een weiland, niet ver van de plaatselijke IKEA.
Toen, in hun eigen woorden, gebeurde het volgende:
"Nu komt het dus uit het niks was er in een keer vanuit het weiland een soort storing in ons zicht , mijn vrouw spreekt alleen Engels en ik was verbaasd naar haar reactie ik dacht dat het aan mij lag maar zij had het ook.
Alsof je een seconde lang een soort ruis ziet. Nog nooit eerder ervaren dus maar ze zei, “Did you just see that blur? Like TV snow? Ja haar Engels is niet optimaal maar toch.
Op het weiland stond wat , het is donker maar de schaduw van een bolvormig iets stond er op (ik schat 10 meter hoog, 20 breed ). Het weiland is normaal alleen bewoond door ganzen en eenden, die allemaal weg waren.
Een man kwam naar ons toe, zei niks maar ik en mijn vrouw kregen de zelfde boodschap: Behoed je zelf voor wat er gaat komen bescherm je kind en verlaat dit land ga naar Maleisië, of all places Maleisië waarom weet ik niet . Maar moest het Borneo eiland zijn . Het werd niet benoemd maar in beeld gebracht niet visueel. Tja kan het niet zo goed uitleggen als je het zelf niet gehad heb.
Het was geen gray zoals ik opgezocht heb zag er niet uit zoals een gray. Maar hij behoede ons voor de grays, die een vaccin uit zouden brengen voor ebola. Maar daarmee ook de controle over de mens gaan krijgen. 2015 .
En dan nog dit:
“Helaas geen foto kunnen nemen want mijn telefoon en die van mijn vriendin gingen spontaan uit en naar 0% charge”
De boodschap en de waarschuwing over het Ebolavaccin en hoe op deze manier de Grays totale wereldcontrole willen krijgen, is duidelijk.
De vrouw van het stel voegt er het volgende aan toe: “Please make sure other people will know”.
We zijn vervolgens wat dieper ingegaan over hoe deze buitenaardse er precies uit zag.
“Okay , nou de gedaante rustig beschrijven, Lang, wit. Het was donker, wel nacht licht maar ik denk dat hij wel 3 meter was".
Dat klinkt als de beschrijving van een zogenaamde Nordic alien en op onze vraag of deze er ongeveer zo uit zag als de volgende foto, kwam het volgende antwoord:
"Ja zoals die vrouw maar een man , helaas kan ik niet goed tekenen. Een man, lang, langer als een mens met een gewaad vergelijkbaar met een badjas maar van gladde stof. Mijn vrouw zegt ogen als een gewoon mens maar, hij keek anders".
Dit was de foto die we hem lieten zien:
Even later komt de man met het volgende:
"Ebola komt er aan en het is geen ebola, daar kwam het op neer. En dat de grijzen het vaccineren maar dit de hele opzet is naar een groter plan. Ze gaan mensen in enten verplichten, na een periode van chaos. 2015 word er iets bekend uit America over grijzen, met als verkoop praatje de redders van de epidemie, maar hoe kan ik dit gezien hebben? Wacht, er komen allemaal mensen naar buiten in de straat, even kijken".
De reden dat die mensen tegen middernacht ondertussen de straat opliepen, was omdat er een onverklaarbare stroomuitval was in een bepaald gedeelte van de wijk zoals je op de volgende foto kunt zien.
Aan de linkerkant van de foto is alles donker.
En dan komt het volgende:
"Mensen die vroegen waarom onze kant alleen geen stroom had en gingen weer naar binnen Stroom is al weer terug, scheen onweer inslag te zijn maar ik heb niks gehoord van onweer en buienradar staat niks wel een knal, maar dat kan vuurwerk zijn gaat de hele week al met die kinderen hier."
Ook dit is iets dat we de laatste weken veelvuldig hebben meegemaakt. Een harde knal, die op onweer lijkt, maar geen onweer is. En dit wordt even later ook hier weer bevestigd:
“Slapen gaat het niet worden, even bevestiging, geen wolken alleen de maan kraak helder, dus geen onweer”
En even later:
“Nu echt een knal buiten, te hard voor vuurwerk, oranje wolken, wacht maak foto”.
Zo hebben we misschien wel het meest interessante verhaal van dit jaar.
Alles waar wij de afgelopen tijd over hebben geschreven, lijkt hier samen te vallen in één gebeurtenis.

Ex-astronaut: "Regering houdt buitenaards leven geheim"
Het bestaan van buitenaards leven en ufo's wordt door de Amerikaanse regering achter gehouden, zo beweert de voormalige NASA-astronaut en zesde man op de maan, Edgar Mitchell. Dat meldt CNN.
"We zijn niet alleen", zegt de 78-jarige Mitchell. "Aliens bestaan weldegelijk, maar de waarheid wordt toegedekt door de Verenigde Staten."
De ex-astronaut, die deel uitmaakte van de Apollo 14-maanmissie in 1971, deed zijn uitspraken op de vijfde editie van de jaarlijkse X-Conference, een bijeenkomst van mensen die geloven in ufo's en buitenaardse vormen van leven.
"Wij zijn voorbestemd om te leven in een planetaire gemeenschap. We moeten bereid zijn om ver buiten onze planeet en ons zonnestelsel te kijken om te weten wat er zich daar echt afspeelt."
De astronaut beweert ook dat hij een poging ondernam om het 'Roswell-incident' uit 1947 te onderzoeken. Roswell in de staat New Mexico, waar Mitchell opgroeide, was volgens believers de plaats waar in 1947 een UFO crashte. Volgens Mitchell werden de inwoners door het leger aangemaand om daarover te zwijgen. Een admiraal bij het Pentagon zou de ufotheorie hebben bevestigd, maar hij trok later zijn verklaringen weer in.
De NASA beweert dat de organisatie "niet betrokken is bij eender welke geheimhouding over buitenaards leven, op deze planeet of ergens anders".
Op Wereld Ufo Dag op dinsdag 2 juli wordt het bestaan van Ongeïdentificeerde Vliegende Objecten of ufo's gevierd. De Wereld Ufo Dag Organisatie wil op deze dag de bewustwording over het bestaan van Ufo's verhogen. Volgens haar bestaan Ufo's ongetwijfeld. De organisatie moedigt regeringen op deze dag ook aan om hun kennis over ufo-waarnemingen bekend te maken.
Er worden tijdens Wereld Ufo Dag talrijke ufo-activiteiten georganiseerd. Zo kijken mensen op Wereld Ufo Dag samen naar de hemel om ufo's te spotten. Er wordt ook gekeken naar films over ufo's zoals E.T. en Men in Black.
1.Roswell-incident De bekendste ufo-melding gebeurde in juli 1947 in de Verenigde Staten in Roswell in de staat New Mexico. Op een boerderij dichtbij Roswell zou er een vliegende schotel, een ufo, neergestort zijn. Talrijke getuigen beweerden dat het om een buitenaards ruimtevaartuig met buitenaardse lijken ging. De gebeurtenis werd heel snel wereldnieuws.
Volgens de Amerikaanse luchtmacht ging het echter om een neergestorte weerballon. Later kwamen er evenwel nieuwe verklaringen van de luchtmacht. De nieuwe verklaringen en de gewijzigde uitleg van de overheid heeft de geruchten over een werkelijke neerstorting van een ufo alleen maar gevoed.
2. De Belgische ufo-golf
Tussen eind 1989 en begin 1991 waren er in België een reeks waarnemingen van driehoekige ufo's. Deze waarnemingen staan bekend als de Belgische ufo-golf. In de nacht van 30 op 31 maart bereikte de Belgische ufo-golf een hoogtepunt. In die nacht werden onbekende voorwerpen waargenomen door naar schatting 13.500 mensen op de grond.
Mensen namen ook foto's van de vermeende buitenaardse ruimtevaartuigen. De bekendste foto werd genomen in de Luikse gemeente Petit-Rechain. De wereldberoemde foto van een driehoekige ufo met verlichte hoeken bleek in 2011 een vervalsing te zijn. De fotograaf gaf toe aan de Franstalige televisiezender RTL-TVI dat het in werkelijkheid een maquette in piepschuim was.
3. De waarneming in Westall Op 6 april 1966 zagen meer dan 200 studenten en leraars in twee Australische scholen in Melbourne een vliegende schotel. Volgens de getuigen daalde de ufo neer in een grasveld en steeg het daarna terug op over een buitenwijk. Er zijn evenwel geen foto's van de vliegende schotel. De getuigen komen nog wel steeds samen om de waarneming te herdenken. In 2010 zond de Australische televisie een documentaire uit over het ufo-mysterie.
4. De Kenneth Arnold case
De Amerikaanse privépiloot Kenneth Arnold beweerde op 24 juni 1947 dat hij negen ufo's zag voorbijvliegen aan een supersonische snelheid van bijna 2000 kilometer per uur. De ufo's vlogen volgens Arnold over de berg Mount Rainier in Washington. Arnolds getuigenis werd uitvoerig opgepikt in de Amerikaanse pers. Het was de eerste keer dat in de pers de term 'vliegende schotel' werd gebruikt.
5. Ufo's in Bracknell Begin juni 2013 werden er twee lichtgevende vliegende schotels gefotografeerd in de Britse stad Bracknell. De ufo's zouden boven een bar in de lucht gevlogen hebben. De getuige Steve Lambert verklaarde aan The Telegraph dat hij de ufo slechts vijf seconden zag en dat hij snel een foto kon nemen met zijn mobiele telefoon.
6. Jimmy Carterincident De Amerikaanse voormalige president Jimmy Carter gaf in 1973 toe dat hij een mysterieus vliegend object had gezien in 1969 in de staat Georgia. Volgens Carter gaf het object licht en veranderde het van kleur. Hij dacht niet dat het een ruimteschip van aliens was.
7. Levelland incident In het stadje Levelland in de Amerikaanse staat Texas werd er door vijftien verschillende getuigen een lichtgevend eivormig vliegend voorwerp in de lucht opgemerkt. Er waren vanaf elf uur 's avonds op 2 november 1957 tot kwart voor 2 's nachts waarnemingen van de ufo. Volgens de Amerikaanse luchtmacht en ufo-sceptici was het een bol bliksem of een zwaar onweer.
8. De lichten boven Phoenix
Boven Phoenix werden op 13 maart 1997 een aantal ufo's waargenomen in het Amerikaanse luchtruim. Tussen half 8 en half 11 's avonds merkten honderden burgers in de staat Arizona en in het Mexicaanse Sonora verschillende lichtverschijnselen. Ze zagen een driehoekige formatie van lichten voorbijvliegen en daarna een reeks stilstaande lichten boven de stad Phoenix.
9. Ufo's in São Paulo In de Braziliaanse staat São Paulo werden er in 1986 een twintigtal ufo's opgemerkt. De ufo's verdwenen plotseling toen militaire vliegtuigen gestuurd werden om ze te onderscheppen.
10. Teheran incident Juist na middernacht op 19 september 1976 zou er een ufo over de Iraanse hoofdstad Teheran gevlogen zijn. Iraanse generaals geloofden dat het een buitenaards object was. Volgens sceptici zagen getuigen geen ufo maar een astronomisch lichaam, waarschijnlijk Jupiter. (WK)

He sent me this photo asking me what I thought about these two blue glowing lights. He said his daughter noticed some lights in the sky, so he pulled over and parked the car to have a look. The lights were blue, silent and moving together slowly. It was at 6:40 pm. I will keep you updated on this if he tells me more about it. The funny thing is, me and my family were there just an hour earlier and missed it...figures huh?

The most famous report - about giants and underground cities - appeared in the April 5, 1909 edition of The Arizona Gazette, entitled “Explorations in Grand Canyon.” Explorer G.E. Kinkaid discovered a huge underground “citadel” while rafting on the Colorado River.
Exploring a tunnel that stretched “nearly a mile underground,” Kinkaid found this citadel, which was filled with tablets carved with some type of hieroglyphics, and home to a stone statue he described as resembling Buddha.
Copper weapons lined the walls, but the most intriguing aspect of this ancient dwelling/worship place/tomb, were the mummies, all wrapped in a dark fabric.
The mummies were supposedly more than nine-feet-tall. To feed the fire of conspiracy, and to keep anyone from finding the giants of the citadel themselves, the United States government allegedly closed that area of the canyon from public view.
But this well-known story of American giants isn’t alone
The New York Times reported a nine-foot-tall skeleton of a man discovered in a mound near Maple Creek, Wisconsin, in December 1897. The Times also carried the story “Strange Skeletons Found” near Lake Delevan, Wisconsin, in its May 4, 1912 issue. The skulls of giant skeletons excavated from a mound had “a minute resemblance to the head of the monkey. ” But an April 9, 1885 story in The New York Times entitled: “Missouri’s buried city: A strange discovery in a coalmine near Moberly,” revealed a find that predated the supposed citadel in the Grand Canyon by 24 years. Moberly, the largest city in Randolph County, Missouri, had a population of 6,108 in the 1880s. Coal miners, sinking a shaft 360 feet deep, broke into a cavern revealing “a wonderful buried city,” the article claimed. Lava arches stretched across the roof of the cavern, looming over the streets of an ancient city “which are regularly laid out and enclosed by walls of stone, which is cut and dressed in a fairly good, although rude style of masonry.
” Workers, along with Moberly city recorder David Coates and Moberly city marshal George Keating, inspected the site and found a 30-by-100-feet hall in the cavern filled with stone benches and hand tools. “Further search disclosed statues and images made of a composition closely resembling bronze, lacking luster,” the article read. Explorers discovered a stone fountain in a wide court, still pouring “perfectly pure water” into its basin. But it was what lay beside the fountain that interested the people exploring the site. “Lying beside the foundation (of the fountain) were portions of the skeleton of a human being,” according to the article. “The bones of the leg measured, the femur four and one-half feet, the tibia four feet and three inches, showing that when alive the figure was three times the size of an ordinary man, and possessed of a wonderful muscular power and quickness. ” Its skull, the story reported, was shattered; bronze tools, granite hammers, metallic saws and flint knives were scattered all around. “They are not so highly polished, nor so accurately made as those now finished by our best mechanics, but they show skill and an evidence of an advanced civilization that are very wonderful,” according to the article.
Explorers spent twelve hours in the buried city and resurfaced only after the oil in their lamps burned low. “No end to the wonders of the discovery was reached,” the article stated. “A further extended search will be made in a day or two.”
No record of the extended search could be found
Dr. Tom Spencer, a professor in the department of History, Humanities, Philosophy and Political Science at Northwest Missouri State University, said that’s because after printing the story, the newspapers tried to forget it. “A lot of the time I think these stories were written based entirely off hearsay and little or no direct on-site reporting,” he said. “As the story grew, the details got more and more outrageous.”
He equates it to a childhood game where children sit in a circle and one child whispers a story into another’s ear and by the time the story completes the circle, it was completely different. “If you recall, sometimes the ‘finished story’ bore little resemblance to the original story,” he said. “My guess is one element of this story is factual – like the strange shaft formation or a long femur was found – and it became more and more embellished as it went around the journalistic circle at the time.”
So what happened to the fabulous buried city under Moberly, Mo.? “There were stories like this periodically at the time and they usually disappear quietly because someone goes to investigate and there’s nothing to it,” Spencer said. “In order to avoid the embarrassment the newspapers just don’t say anything else about it.”
However, Moberly resident John W. wants to find out for certain. “Myself and several friends have researched the article archived at The New York Times,” John said. “The article discusses coal miners finding a Crystal City with several advanced features as well as the bones of what can only be called a giant.”
John and his group plan to investigate the claim of an underground city. “We have found the mine. Our hopes are to take a field trip and find the underground city if we can access the mine,” he said. “We have driven by and the site exists. You can still see remnants of the old access road through the field. It would appear this mine has not been in use since the time period of the news article.”
Moberly calls itself “The Magic City.” Hopefully John and his crew can discover just how magic it is.
