The reports were sent in by those who watched large round solid lights streak across the sky at enormous speed during clear winter nights, The sighting one from California and one from Kansas were similar in detail. The objects were large round and bright white traveling at incredible speed. The other reports came from Maine and Connecticut and both of those reports were from people who claimed they witnessed large round objects hovering over wooded areas. None of the people who emailed me the above reports were able to take any photos of the objects yet they all claim that the sightings were clear and that they felt fearful of the objects
I thought the reports were interesting and pointed out the fact that Orbs are still visiting and flying our skies from coast to coast.
I have a friend who lives on Long Island on a hill that overlooks the Long Island Sound. His house is on a cliff making his view of the water and the sky a clear view without trees or any objects to muddy his view of the water or sky. He first called me about three weeks ago and told me he watched a fleet of round white to light pink objects shoot across the sky over the Long Island sound with such incredible speed that he did not have time to run to his phone to click a few photos of the event, He told me that the fleet of about 7 objects moved so quickly that it was like watching lightning flash across the sky however it was distinct objects of different colors arranged in a formation of a uneven V with four objects on one leg of the V and two or three on the shorter side or leg of the V.
My friend called my home again about three days ago about 8PM at night and told my husband that one of those large pink Orbs was moving quickly over the water but when he tried to video it he could not catch the image
I was aware that the Orbs were back or more likely still here . With the busy holiday season people were preoccupied with family and traditional parties and obligations keeping their eyes close to the earth and centered on the happenings directly around them. Now that the season is over and the cold clear nights of winter have taken hold people are more likely to take a break and look up at the sky making the new sightings possible. I think they have been flying over us without interruption for years now and we are the ones who look away with the busyness of life and now will once again start to spot and report the strange and unexplained unknowns that fly our skies as our daily routines slow
I did receive a more disturbing report from a couple in Canada yesterday and did urge them to call in to the authorities that they have someone in their yard and continue to do so until they can get a government agent to show up during the time they have the reoccurring objects hovering over the back woods behind their home. I felt this couple may be in a more dangerous scenario as the objects keep returning to their yard. I will attach her report below:
“Hello Chris,
I came across your very interesting website, and I’m wondering your thoughts on this. However, please don’t print my name.
I live in Ontario, and since Tuesday, January 14th I’ve seen a white orb above the tallest tree in our backyard 4 times. This week it appeared at approximately 6:30 a.m., and leaves around 7:30 a.m. when it starts to brighten up outside. Last week it appeared and left a little later, but our mornings are now getting brighter. A couple of times I’ve actually seen it arrive and position itself in that same spot, then it moves over between two tree tops. It can move quite quickly. This morning I noticed two very faint lights in the distance, and it seems like they are waiting on it. When it leaves it stays just above the trees tops and backs up until I can’t see it any longer.
The 2nd time I saw was a week ago Friday I could have sworn that there were two, and I saw an orange one land in our trees. Afterwards, I could see a light there. Then later, I saw two leave and back up together.
Tuesday, the 3rd time I saw it my husband hadn’t left for work yet so was able to see it also. (He took the attached two pictures. The first one he actually took last, and isn’t sure why it appears like a line. He isn’t sure whether it was moving at the time, or whether he moved his hand.)
When it’s dark they look like a very bright moving star, but through the binoculars and camera look like an orb.
We usually just leave our blinds up in our bedroom window, as we live in a small town and just have trees in our backyard. However, Thursday I woke up a 1 a.m., and looked out the window and the orb was positioned in the sky so that I could see it with my head on my pillow. It was strange because I usually see it from our TV room window, and not our bedroom. I immediately closed the blinds.
After my husband left for work this Thursday, I was surprised to see it arrive again to above the big tree top in our backyard.
Should we be concerned about this?

It is obvious that Orbs as well as many other strange unknown crafts continue to visit and fly above us all over the world. They may be simply passing by or part of large bases on the moon. There are numerous reasons and possible answers to these unknowns however we continue also on our hard nose refusal to demand answers, or to laugh these things off or insult those who have seen them. I have given up looking for help, logical real research or any organization to finding out what is going on as society simply does not want to know. My true sorrow is for the harsh way we treat those who have had to handle being taken and abused by these unknowns only to be abused and tormented by the human race when they look for help or answers.
I can only warn you all that these things are out there and it will only be time , if you are aware of your surroundings, that you will see one or have to deal with on up front and alone. Keep your eyes open and your gadgets and devices ready to catch a photo or film of what flies freely in our skies. Years ago I had to deal with a strange red Orb and it was a life changing event and not something I would wish on anyone else . I do not think of Orbs as friendly or caring to the human species .

Witness report: I was on a boat near the Petrohué Falls in Chile and took some pictures of the Osorno Volcano.
One picture shows a burning cigar-shaped UFO and it appears to take a nose dive directly into the volcano.
Osorno Volcano is a 2,652-metre (8,701 ft) tall conical stratovolcano lying between Osorno Province and Llanquihue Province, in Los Lagos Region of Chile. It stands on the southeastern shore of Llanquihue Lake, and also towers over Todos los Santos Lake.
Osorno is one of the most active volcanoes of the southern Chilean Andes and sits on top of a 250,000-year-old eroded stratovolcano, La Picada, with a 6-km-wide caldera.
In 2005 a mysterious cigar shaped UFO was photographed in the vicinity of the Osorno volcano.
Farmers from neighboring communities furnished eyewitness reports in strange lights with irregular movements, usually vanishing from sight near the Osorno Volcano.
Local residents claim such phenomena are common in the region.
50 years ago, mysterious events took place in the English town of Warminster that served as the impetus for the legend of a phenomenon called “The Thing.” An event will be held later this year marking the 50th anniversary of UFOs and other weirdness in Warminster.
The Warminster Journal article from January, 1964 that started it all.
Although UFOs are part of the Warminster phenomena, it all started with a weird noise. According to a story in the Warminster Journal printed in January, 1965, early in the morning of Christmas day, 1964, a housewife heard a strange sound on her way to church. She left at about 6:30 in the morning, and soon after heard a “crackling” noise. The sound got more and more loud and seemed to pass over head. However, nothing could be seen.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of being ridiculed, said the sound was like branches being pulled over gravel along with a faint hum.
A website called UFO Warminster chronicles the strange occurrences of the area, and it lists the anonymous housewife as Marjorie Bye in its timeline of strange events. According to the site, there were other witnesses that day. One man heard pounding on his roof, while a woman named Mildred Head apparently reported, “Our ceiling came alive with strange sounds that lashed our roof… as if twigs were brushing the tiles… ended up with a noise [like] giant hailstones.”
Little did the townsfolk know, this was only the beginning of a number of weird occurrences that would take place over the coming years.
One of the strangest stories comes from a news clipping from August, 1965 that, according to UFO Warminster, may have been the Warminster Journal, but they are unsure. The article reads like the plot of a 50s sci-fi movie. The story is about a Warminster town hall meeting that was arranged to discuss “The Thing.” The council chairman invited Mr. David Holton, a local scientist, to attend the meeting. Holton had been investigating the mysterious happenings, and was asked to share his findings.
The movie The Thing From Another World came out in 1951, but may have been the inspiration for the name for the Warminster phenomenon.
In dramatic fashion, Holton said he would rather destroy his dossier than read it aloud to the crowd. He did not feel a town hall was the right way to go about an investigation. He told the paper, “This is a serious matter and must not be thrashed out in a half-hearted way by local people in front of newspaper men and television.”
The article goes on to describe some of the strangeness that had gone on since the first Christmas day occurrence. They say people had heard a crackling in the sky that “killed pigeons in flight, peppered dormice with holes and stuns animals, partridges and pheasants. Some people say they have been knocked down by the force.”
The article also claims that Mr. Horton warned the townspeople weeks ago “that the happenings indicated that people in Warminster would soon be seeing objects in the sky.”
Sure enough, soon after, “the Vicar of Heytesbury, the Reverend Graham Phillips, and his family, reported seeing a glowing, cigar-shaped object over the south of town form the vicarage in the village.”
Arthur Shuttlewood, a journalist for the Warminster Journal, is credited with making “The Thing” famous. He reported on the events and eventually wrote books about it as well.
However, according to a BBC article by Kevin Goodman, one of the founders of the UFO Warminster website, “The Thing” first received national attention when a UFO photograph hit the news.
The image was captured by a man named Gordon Faulkner in 1965. Faulkner shared the image with Shuttlewood who then gave it to the Daily Mirror. The Daily Mirror printed it in September of 1965, and Warminster’s “Thing” became famous. Goodman writes, “Within weeks, thousands of people began to converge on the town to see this strange phenomenon for themselves.”

Warminster’s notoriety as a UFO hot spot was sealed when BBC West produced a documentary on the whole affair in 1966. The documentary can be seen in Goodman’s BBC article.
Goodman says frequent sightings of “The Thing” continued until the early 1970s, then they began to decline.

It was 50 years ago this month that the first news article on the hapless housewife who was terrorized by “The Thing” appeared in the Warminster Journal. According to an article by the Western Daily Press, a group of UFO researchers have decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary with a conference. It will be held at The Old Bell Inn in Warminster in August, 2015. You can read more about it on their Facebook page.
With any luck, “The Thing” will make an appearance. If it does, it sure does have a lot of explaining to do.

A Louisiana witness at Mandeville reported watching a hovering, sphere-shaped UFO that appeared to lower a 300-foot-long “chrome tether” from its body, according to testimony in Case 62930 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was driving along eastbound I-12 about 4 p.m. with a clear sky on January 24, 2015, when a small airplane was noticed making a sharp turn at a low altitude.
“When I looked for the plane a second time I noticed a chrome object in the sky stationary about 1,000 feet above the next interstate exit,” the witness stated. “As I got closer the object had lowered a chrome tether about 300 feet long.”
The witness then noticed a second, smaller object.
“The object had a small orb moving around the larger object. The larger object with the tether was not moving.”

The witness stopped at the exit and observed the object still about 800 to 1,000 feet in the air above.
“After about five minutes, the object retracted the chrome tether and slowly moved to the east, and then the object increased speed and was out of sight in less than one second.”
The witness decided to investigate.
“I called the National Weather Service in Slidell, LA, just 15 miles from the sighting to see if they were doing anything that might explain what I saw. I also contacted local airports to see if any pilots reported a sighting, and also called the New Orleans International Airport to see if they could validate the sighting on radar.”
The witness did not have much luck.
“The FAA has not returned my call as January 28, 2015. I understand the principals of lift and airfoils. This was not a plane or a weather balloon. It defied gravity without wings and no noise from engines. I have tried my best to explain this, but so for it remains a UFO.”

Sir Roger Penrose is één van de belangrijkste wetenschappers in de relativiteitstheorie en kwantummechanica. Samen met Stuart Hamerhoff, een Amerikaanse anesthesist en hersenonderzoeker, ontwikkelde hij een nieuwe theorie over bewustzijn.
Die bleef omstreden omdat niemand haar kon bewijzen. Tot nu toe. Na vijf jaar onderzoek op hersencellen met een atoomscanner bevestigt nanowetenschapper Anirban Bandyopadhyay de theorie. En hij voegt eraan toe: niet alleen kwantumfluctuaties spelen een rol in onze neuronen; ze communiceren ook via geluidsgolven.
Roger Penrose (82), emeritus hoogleraar wis- en natuurkunde van de Oxford-universiteit, heeft een eigen theorie over bewustzijn die haaks staat op de neurowetenschappen. Dat miljarden hersencellen in ons brein met elkaar knap ingewikkelde netwerken vormen, is volgens hem niet voldoende aanleiding voor bewustzijn.
Diepgaand begrijpen
Hét missende ingrediënt is volgens Penrose ‘een diepgaand begrijpen’ dat buiten rekenkracht omgaat. Onze hersencellen hebben daartoe waarschijnlijk toegang tot een speciaal fenomeen, zegt de hoogleraar: de kwantummechanica.
Dat is een tak van de natuurkunde die verklaart hoe kleine deeltjes zoals elektronen bijvoorbeeld op meerdere plekken tegelijk kunnen bestaan, of in meerdere toestanden tegelijk kunnen verkeren. Volgens Penrose helpt de speelruimte van zulke kwantumtoestanden onze neuronen hun normale rekenkracht te overstijgen, waarmee de deur naar bewustzijn is geopend.
Ziel
Hameroff veronderstelt dat kleine buisjes binnen onze hersencellen bewustzijn voortbrengen: de microtubuli. Die zouden een soort oerbewustzijn uit de kwantumwereld tappen en doorgeven aan de rest van het brein.
In het blad Physics of Life Reviews schrijven Penrose en Hameroff dat Bandyopadhyay, werkzaam als natuurkundige aan het Nationaal Instituut voor Materiaalwetenschap (NIMS) in Japan, aanwijzingen voor kwantumeffecten in deze buisjes heeft ontdekt.
In een boekhoofdstuk dat Hameroff samen met Deepak Chopra heeft geschreven, zegt de anesthesist dat het kwantumbrein een goede verklaring biedt voor bijna-doodervaringen, het gezonde effect van meditatie en het bestaan van de ziel.
Een onbekende mensensoort zwierf tussen 60.000 en 120.000 jaar geleden door het noorden van China. Het waren geen neanderthalers en ook geen moderne mensen. Algemeen wordt aangenomen dat er vier groepen waren: de neanderthalers leefden in Europa, de Denisova-mens in Azië en de ‘hobbit’ (Homo floresiensis) in Indonesië. En er was nog een mysterieuze vierde groep uit Eurazië.
De Chinese resten werden in 1976 ontdekt in een grot in Xujiayao. Het gaat om schedelfragmenten en negen tanden van vier individuen. Een analyse van de tanden is pas gepubliceerd in het American Journal of Physical Anthropology.
María Martinón-Torres van het Nationale Onderzoekscentrum voor Menselijke Evolutie in het Spaanse Burgos en haar collega’s kwamen al snel tot de conclusie dat de tanden niet toebehoren aan de moderne mens, de Homo sapiens. Andere resten die in de grot gevonden zijn komen ook niet overeen met de vier bekende soorten.

Martinón-Torres kan nog niet met zekerheid zeggen of het gaat om een geheel nieuwe mensensoort. “Dit is voor ons een onbekende groep. We kunnen nog niet zeggen dat het een nieuwe soort is omdat we het materiaal moeten vergelijken met andere dingen,” zei ze.
Het zouden Denisova-mensen kunnen zijn, maar er is bijna niets over deze soort bekend. De enige fossielen van deze mens, twee tanden en een vingerkootje, zijn gevonden in een grot in Siberië.
Volgens Darren Curnoe van de Universiteit van Nieuw-Zuid-Wales in Sydney is er wel een nieuwe mensensoort ontdekt. “De fossielen wijzen sterk in de richting van een nog onbekende soort,” zei hij. “Ik ben er vrij zeker van dat deze tanden uniek zijn.”
Misschien komt er binnenkort meer duidelijkheid aangezien Azië rijk is aan fossielen. Wetenschappers willen graag meer gegevens bemachtigen uit het oosten van Azië, maar dat blijkt geen gemakkelijke opgave.
“Er leefden waarschijnlijk meerdere vroege menssoorten in Azië, wat niet verrassend is gezien de omvang van het continent en de geïsoleerde ligging,” zei Martinón-Torres. Een aantal van deze groepen zouden volgens sommige onderzoekers voorouders van de moderne Europeanen kunnen zijn.
“We hebben Oost-Azië veel te lang genegeerd,” zei Curnoe. “We beginnen nu verrassende ontdekkingen te doen die ingaan tegen de conventionele kennis over fossielen uit Europa en Afrika.”

Ik heb dat artikel gelezen van die studente op jullie site en het vreemde is dat ze vermelde : "Fysiek voelde ze zich moe na de verschijning ". Dat is een van de meest voorkomende symptomen van een alien ontvoering . Raar dat niemand daar op in is gegaan en haar heeft onderzocht op kleine letsels.
Vanwege de naam dachten wij in eerste instantie te maken te hebben met een vrouw, maar dat blijkt niet het geval.

Ik heb gister toch maar eens mijn arm gecontroleerd, en ik zag deze 3 plekken die ik niet thuis kan brengen. Dit kan natuurlijk toevallig zijn omdat ik er nu op gelet heb, maar misschien is het wat. Misschien dat u dat weet ! Ik heb een foto bijgevoegd.
Hier volgen een tweetal foto’s van de linkerarm, waarbij de tweede behoorlijk is vergroot.
Wat hebben nu concreet.
Een vreemd gevoel tijdens de waarneming:
Net voor ik het zag voelde ik iets wat ik niet beschrijven kan. een soort spiritueel gevoel dat zei dat ik moest opletten. Toen zag ik een gloed. Daarna een grote vermoeidheid.
Fysiek voelde ik me moe na de verschijning.
Die vermoeidheid die zich dan vervolgens vertaalt in bijna een hele dag slapen:
De dag na de verschijning (Zaterdag) Heb ik bijna de hele dag geslapen!
Dan een tintelend gevoel in de linkerarm nadat de getuige wakker wordt. En als laatste, drie merkwaardige merktekens op de linkerarm die er eerst niet waren en waarvan de getuige geen idee heeft hoe deze op de arm terecht zijn gekomen.
Dit lijkt allemaal geen toeval te kunnen zijn. Alhoewel de getuige zelf niet het idee heeft dat er iets bijzonders heeft plaatsgevonden:
“Zoals ik aangaf had ik voor de verschijning een "gevoel" en was ik daarna erg moe. Daar tussen denk ik niet dat er tijd weg is want alles is mij gewoon helder.”
De lezer die met de opmerking kwam of er misschien sprake was van een buitenaardse ontvoering, voegt nog de volgende informatie toe.

Bij de eerste word je letterlijk aan boord gehaald en worden er medische tests op je gedaan. Meestal krijg je ook via telepathie tijdens een onderzoek beelden over de aarde toegestuurd over verleden heden en toekomst . Waarom weet nog niemand. Er zijn er die denken dat dat is om je reactie te zien op al de ellende hier .
Maar er zijn er ook die denken dat ze ons attent willen maken op onze manier van leven. Dat we de aarde en de mensheid aan het vernielen zijn en ons willen waarschuwen voor onze eigen toekomst .
De tweede is is een outer body experience. Je verlaat je lichaam en word onderworpen aan mentale tests. Als die voorbij zijn schiet je wakker door dat het lijkt alsof je uit de lucht word gedropt terug in je lichaam en word meestal gevolgd door nachtmerries de volgende nachten.
De vraag is nu, is er inderdaad “iets” gebeurd met deze getuige in Maastricht gerelateerd aan zijn UFO waarneming of berust het allemaal op toeval?

Göbekli Tepe is an archaeological site at the top of a mountain ridge in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, approximately 12 km (7 mi) northeast of the town of Şanlıurfa. The tell has a height of 15 m (49 ft) and is about 300 m (984 ft) in diameter. It is approximately 760 m (2,493 ft) above sea level. It has been excavated by a German archaeological team that was under the direction of Klaus Schmidt from 1996 until his death in 2014.
The tell includes two phases of ritual use dating back to the 10th-8th millennium BCE. During the first phase (Pre-Pottery Neolithic A (PPNA)), circles of massive T-shaped stone pillars were erected. More than 200 pillars in about 20 circles are currently known through geophysical surveys. Each pillar has a height of up to 6 m (20 ft) and a weight of up to 20 tons. They are fitted into sockets that were hewn out of the bedrock.In the second phase (Pre-pottery Neolithic B (PPNB)), the erected pillars are smaller and stood in rectangular rooms with floors of polished lime. The site was abandoned after the PPNB-period. Younger structures date to classical times.

An abundance of good information appears in the FBI’s files for 1950. The first item is a report from the old Office of Naval Investigation regarding UFO sightings on January 22 and 23, 1950, in the area of Kodiak, Alaska. The report lacks a number of enclosures which were once with the original but many details remain: Date of Report: 10 Feb. 1950 Place: Kodiak, Alaska DIO/17ND Source: Official U.S. Navy Evaluation: A-2 Subject: Unidentified phenomena in vicinity of Kodiak, Alaska
a) at 220240W January Lt. SMITH, USN, patrol plane commander of P2V3 No. 4 of Patrol Squadron One reported an unidentified radar contact 20 miles north of the Naval Air Station, Kodiak, Alaska. When this contact was first made, Lt. SMITH was flying the Kodiak Security Patrol. At 0248W, 8 minutes later a radar contact was made on an object 10 miles southeast of NAS, Kodiak. Lt. SMITH checked with the control tower to determine known traffic in the area, and was informed that there was none. During this period the radar operator, GASKEY, ALC, USN reported intermittent radar interference of a type he had never before experienced (see enclosure (3)). Contact was lost at this time, but intermittent interference continued.
b) At some time between 0200 and 0300W, MORGAN was standing watch on board the USS Tillamock (ATA 192), which was anchored in the vicinity of buoy 19 in the main ship channel. MORGAN reported sighting a “very fast moving red glow light, which appeared to be of exhaust nature, seemed to come from the southeast, moved clockwise in a large circle in the direction of, and around Kodiak and returned but in a generally southeast direction.” MORGAN called CARVER, also on watch, to observe this object, and they both witnessed the return flight. The object was in sight for an estimated 30 seconds. No odor or sound was detected, and the object was described to have the appearance of a ball of fire about one foot in diameter.
c) At 220440W, conducting routine Kodiak security patrol, Lt. SMITH reported a visual sighting of an unidentified airborne object at a radar range of 5 miles, on the starboard bow. This object showed indications of great speed on the radar scope. (The trailing edge of the blip gave a tail-like indication.) At this time Lt. SMITH called attention of all crew members to the object. An estimated ten seconds later, the object was directly overhead, indicating a speed of about 1800 MPH. Lt. SMITH climbed to intercept and attempted to circle to keep the object in sight. He was unable to do this, as the object was too highly maneuverable. Subsequently the object appeared to be opening the range, and SMITH attempted to close the range. The object was observed to open out somewhat, then to turn to the left and come up on SMITH’S quarter. SMITH considered this to be a highly threatening gesture, and turned out all lights in the aircraft. Four minutes later the object disappeared from view in a southeasterly direction.
d) At 230435W, the day following Lt. SMITH’S sighting, Lt. CAUSER and Lt. BARCO of Patrol Squadron One were conducting the Kodiak Security Patrol and sighted an unidentified object. At the time of the sighting the aircraft in which those officers were embarked was approximately 62 miles south of Kodiak. The object appeared to be on an ascending westerly course, and was in sight for ten minutes. During this period the object was observed by Lt. CAUSER and BARCO, and PAULSON, ADi, plane captain. At no time was radar contact made on the object. Lt. CAUSER was unable to close the object at 170 knots.
e)The objects sighted have been described as follows: (1) To Lt. SMITH and crew it appeared as two orange lights rotating about a common center, “like two jet aircraft making slow rolls in tight formation.” It had a wide speed range. (2) To MORGAN and CARVER it appeared as a reddish orange ball of fire about one foot in diameter, travelling at a high rate of speed. (3) To CAUSER, BARCO, and PAULSON it appeared to be a pulsating orange yellow projectile shaped flame, with a regular period of pulsation on 3 to 5 seconds, off 3 to 5 seconds. Later, as the object increased the range the pulsation appeared to increase to on 7 to 8 seconds and off 7 to 8 seconds.
Many people who are aware of UFO history have heard about or read of the “Lubbock Lights” one of many legendary tales of unidentified aerial objects reported by numerous witnesses in the Texas skies. Although this particular sighting remains unexplained, there are aspects of this series of reported sightings that are not widely known and may prove to be even more provocative than the Lubbock Lights themselves.
At a time of war
It began in 1951. During this time few people remember that the Korean War was in full swing and US forces along with the South Korean army were in a desperate struggle against an invading North Korean Communist army heavily supported by Russian advisors, aircraft, and pilots. The United States Marines, US Army, and US Air Force got some support from a small contingent of United Nations troops such as the Australians, but were often heavily outnumbered and were forced to fight in a protracted conflict where objectives were constantly overrun and retaken over and over again. The mountainous terrain was arid during the summer and bitterly cold during the winter to make matters worse for the American and South Korean cause.
On a typical evening
Yet, on the other side of the earth far from the desperate battles being waged in Korea was Lubbock, Texas comparatively peaceful and the host to Texas Tech University where engineering and petroleum exploration were being taught. It was here that the unknown took its place in history and left many an observer spellbound in its wake. When three Professors from the Engineering Department of Texas Tech stood outside enjoying a quiet evening on their colleague's lawn a strange sight caught their attention from the darkened sky above. A formation of lighted objects flew across their field of view from above.
More than an isolated occurrence
Little did they know that a number of people through out the area had been seeing this same manifestation at around the same time of the night. Local townfolk often depicted a V or U shaped formation of 9 to 20 objects passing overhead at tremendous speed yet with no engine roar or conventional aircraft propulsion sounds though some did note an audible wooshing sound from time to time. From August of that year to November many observers made known their sightings to the authorities. Finally the US Air Force under the investigation of Project Blue Book began an investigation.
Project Blue Book weighs in
Captain Edward J. Ruppelt did make several comments about the Lubbock Lights in his famous book released in 1956 known as “The Report on UFO's”. Initial explanations ranged from Plovers, a water bird with oily white feathers to migrating ducks, but wildlife experts pointed out that Plovers did not fly in formations larger than threes. Ducks did not have self luminous characteristics either as many witnesses reported the Lubbock Lights to be brighter than the stars around them and even as bright as the planet Venus! Visual evidence
A high school student who resided with his parents in Lubbock took several photos of the nocturnal visitations that were published in the local newspaper. Project Blue Book officers requested to see the original photos which were handed over. After analysis by not only the US Air Force but professors at Texas Tech it was announced that no conventional explanation or evidence of hoax could be determined. The sightings remained a mystery.
Something else emerges
However, this was not the only odd or inexplicable event going on at the time near Lubbock. According to Captain Ruppelt, sightings of strange aerial machines were made in broad daylight. Described as the approximate size of a B-29 fuselage without wings several of these objects were observed hovering at crossroads in and around the Lubbock area! Where did they come from and who was flying them? Some of the local people reported being stunned at the appearance of these unconventional flying machines being observed at various intersections in the countryside surrounding Lubbock. For farmers and ranchers who had observed typical single engine planes, airliners, or Air Force airborne traffic the appearance of these bizarre daytime encounters must have been very disconcerting.
Unknown
Captain Ruppelt hinted when speaking of the Lubbock Lights that there was another explanation that he was not at liberty to discuss, but that he felt adequately explained the cause of the sightings, but did not make any attempt to address the bizarre daytime sightings of the B-29 sized unknown objects! It seems that there was no clear explanation nor did Ruppelt even attempt to tackle this aspect of the sightings being reported at the time.
Beyond other references
One might recall that when reviewing the Kenneth Arnold Sigfhting of 9 silvery saucer shaped objects near Mt. Rainier in 1947 that he had contacted several facilities about the new delta winged aircraft that were being tested at the time and secretly being flown from coast to coast, which in itself was an admission of a highly advanced classified program. Were these captured German aircraft from Peenemunde? One can only speculate.
Impossible to ignore
Yet, for an unknown flying object the size of a B-29 fuselage and being wingless, there seems to be no attempt what so ever to address who or what could have been responsible for such a flying craft which makes this even more mysterious than the nocturnal sightings of the Lubbock Lights that were going on simultaneously during that time! Still that vaguely referenced admission on the part of Captain Ruppelt and lack of elaboration about who or what might have been responsible leaves an even bigger mystery untouched, unexplored, and unexplained to this day. Were these strange arborne machinations experimental craft? If they were, was Lubbock really the place to be tesing them when places such as White Sands, Ft. Bliss, or Dreamland were within reasonable proximity to be conducting flights without the prying eyes of the public so numerous?
Conclusion
Did the Lubbock Lights if explained as Captain Ruppelt seems to have indicated, were a distraction then why were these strange vessels being deployed in broad daylight in plain sight of local drivers? It seems that beginning in 1947 an undeclared emergency had existed. The rise of the police state had emerged, the Roswell Crash had been widely reported among other alarming and well documented incidents, and it seems this odd twist to the Lubbock Lights sightings is apparently just one more anecdote into the shadowy world of UFO history defying conventional explanation as well.

UPDATE Uit de Kepler-waarnemingen blijkt dat er rond de relatief heldere ster Kepler-444, op 117 lichtjaar afstand van ons in de richting van de sterrenbeelden Zwaan en Lier, vijf planeten cirkelen in kleine omloopbanen, met omlooptijden niet langer dan 9,8 dagen (voor de verst verwijderde, Kepler-444f) en minimaal 3,5 dagen (Kepler-444b). Omwille van die nabijheid kan er geen leven zijn op die planeten. De ster zelf is zowat vier keer zo klein en koeler dan onze Zon.
De planeten blijken tussen de 5.000 en 12.000 kilometer groot te zijn, of 0,4 tot 0,7 keer de Aarde, of variërend tussen Mercurius (Kepler-444b), Mars (de drie middenste) en Venus (Kepler-444f). Zulke kleine planeten moeten uit gesteenten en metalen bestaan.
Twee keer zo oud als aarde Kepler-444 blijkt 11,2 miljard jaar oud te zijn - twee keer zo oud als onze Zon - zodat ook de planeten zowat die leeftijd moeten hebben en dus twee keer zo oud zouden zijn als onze Aarde. Het is meteen het oudste zonnestelsel met Aarde-achtige planeten in onze Melkweg.
"Wij hebben nooit zoiets dergelijks gezien: een zo oude ster met een groot aantal planeetjes", schreef Huber.
De vondst suggereert ook dat er in de jeugd van de 13,8 miljard jaar geleden geboren kosmos al Aarde-achtige planeten ontstonden. Wat ook betekent dat er al leven in het heelal kan zijn ontstaan, vele miljarden jaren voordat de Zon en Aarde ontstonden.

Het gaat om steenklomp 2004 BL86 die ons voorbijraast op ongeveer drie keer de afstand aarde-maan, of ruwweg 1,2 miljoen km. De grootte van het hemellichaam is zowat 0,5 km.
2004 BL86 -ontdekt in 2004- zal de meest nabije scheervlucht maken van een (voorzover bekende) asteroïde tot 1999 AN10 ons in 2027 een bezoekje brengt.
De NASA benadrukt dat de planetoïde geen gevaar voor onze planeet inhoudt. Het ding kan al te zien zijn met een kleine telescoop of sterke verrekijker.
The Virtual Telescope Project (onderstaande video) zendt het gebeuren live uit om 20.30 uur wanneer de planetoïde het best te zien is.
