Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

Unidentified submerged objects (USOs) are not as famous as UFOs although they are often encountered, according to declassified Russian Navy records. The common trait of all USO phenomena is that they involve unexplained and technologically advanced objects, far superior to anything we’ve ever built.
The recently declassified documents contain Soviet era reports detailing many cases of possible USO encounters. Former naval officer and Russian UFO researcher Vladimir Azhazha believes these documents are of great value. One of the most interesting cases he examined involved a nuclear submarine on a combat mission in the Southern Pacific. During the routine operation, the submarine detected six unknown objects travelling in formation at speeds in excess of 230 knots (265+ mph). In comparison, the fastest submarine was the Soviet K-222, which reached about 44 knots (51 mph).
The submarine’s sonar determined the objects were heading straight for it so the captain gave the order to surface. The USOs followed them to the surface then flew away. Similar instances have been reported in the region of the Bermuda Triangle, as retired submarine commander Yuri Beketov recalls. On-board instruments often malfunctioned, indicating the presence of strong interference. Many believe this is a clear sign of USO/UFO presence.
On several occasions the instruments gave reading of material objects moving at incredible speed. Calculations showed speeds of about 230 knots, or 265 mph. Speeding so fast is a challenge even on the surface. But water resistance is much higher. It was like the objects defied the laws of physics. There’s only one explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in development,” said Beketov.
Both UFOs and USOs seem to concentrate wherever military operations occur, indicating their interest in humanity’s military arsenal.
Another USO hotspot is Lake Baikal in Russia. The world’s deepest freshwater lake has always had a certain mysterious nature and fishermen tell tales of lights being spotted in its deep waters. Multiple folk tales describe swimmers being dragged down by creatures lurking beneath Baikal’s calm waves.
Another of the Russian documents described the encounter between a group of military divers and several humanoid beings in silver suits. The divers were training in Lake Baikal at a depth of 150 feet (50 meters) when they came upon a group of unknown creatures. The divers went deeper in the pursuit of the humanoids. Three men were killed, while the other four were severely injured.
Vladimir Azhazha believes the issue should be thoroughly investigated. “I think about underwater bases and say: why not? Nothing should be discarded,” says Azhazha. “Skepticism is the easiest way: believe nothing, do nothing. People rarely visit great depths. So it’s very important to analyze what they encounter there.”

March 2, 2015 - Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs as they are commonly known, have been witnessed by millions of people all over the world and have been recorded in history books, myths, legends and traditions for thousands of years. However, many accounts that are recorded in ancient texts are dismissed as mere myths and legends, while UFO sightings that have taken place in the last few centuries have been classified as misinterpretations of natural phenomena, illusions, or conspiracy theories.
History has shown us time and again that a plethora of so-called ‘myths’ have their basis in reality. It is possible, and indeed likely, that stories and legends were a way for people to explain real—and perhaps perplexing—events using the knowledge and beliefs of their time. In support of this theory, a number of events described in mythology, which were once considered mere fairy tales, have now been proven through archaeology to have existed. A famous example is the city Troy, which is central to Homer’s ‘The Iliad’. Long considered to be a city of myth, Heinrich Schliemann’s discovery of the actual site in 1868 elevated it to a place in history. Nevertheless, the remainder of The Iliad is still viewed as a myth and fantasy without any serious attempts being made to investigate whether or not there may be more truth behind the tale. The same goes for many accounts of ‘flying machines’, which we find reference to in countless mythologies from numerous different cultures around the world. Many cultures contain pictorial and written records of ‘flying machines’, yet these are usually dismissed as myth and legend.
It is common to see people selectively decide what is real and what is not and all of this on the unsubstantiated assumption that ancient people were primitive and had little to no knowledge compared to us today. On the contrary, many ancient civilizations, like the Sumerians, Indus Valley, and Egyptians existed with complex social structures, legal systems, art, astronomy, mathematics, and technology, some of which is still not fully understood today. The Antikythera Mechanism, for example, is a 2,200-year-old mechanical device that is still not completely understood despite decades of research by top scientists around the world.
The topic of flying objects and supernatural beings from out of our world is one in which we find multiple references in mythologies. All of these myths and legends, along with archaeological evidence such as rock art depictions, have created a wave of theories that gave birth to the ‘Ancient Astronaut’ perspective, which links all of these ancient references and depictions to UFOs, and posits that extra-terrestrials visited Earth and made contact with humans in antiquity and prehistory, influencing the development of human cultures, technologies, and religions.
Unfortunately, there are numerous charlatans who have tried to ‘cash in’ on this movement for profit or publicity, or who have diminished it with caricatures of little green men, resulting in the ancient astronaut perspective being widely criticized and attacked for its lack of credibility. Consequently, what is in fact a plausible and possible explanation for what we see in ancient art and texts, is now rarely examined by scholars, who fear being ridiculed or having their professional career seriously undermined.

But let’s leave the ancient past for a while and examine just the last 80 years of human history. Millions of people all over the globe have witnessed unidentified flying objects. Many have been recorded in detailed reports witnessed by police, pilots, astronauts, government officials, pilots, military personnel and, of course, ordinary citizens. Some of the more well-known cases were witnessed by thousands of people at one time. Historical records make it evident that UFO appearances magnified during and after World War II, including the example of the famous ‘Foo Fighters’.
While most sightings can be explained either by celestial phenomena, airplanes, planets, weather phenomena, military exercises, or in some cases drug use or mental instability, there still exists a small percentage that cannot be accounted for by any of these explanations. This is what makes the phenomena important and not to be ignored, particularly considering that sightings are frequently reported around military bases and airfields and are therefore, at the very least, a matter of both national security and air safety.
It is an undeniable fact that there are cases of unidentified objects in our skies. It has been acknowledged by the major governments from all over the world simply through the very fact that official research has been conducted on the matter in the US, UK, Russia, Europe, China, South America, and many others. All of this research, in every single case, concluded that there is a percentage of phenomena that cannot be explained.
In the past decade, many countries have declassified their UFO research files, releasing thousands of documents through the Freedom of Information Act and making numerous UFO cases available in the public domain. One recently released document from the UFO files in Britain, revealed how Churchill, concerned about the UFO issue, ordered a shutdown of information for at least 50 years to prevent mass panic and the potential to undermine religious beliefs. The document in question was also published on the BBC news site in 2010.
By doing careful research on the topic, passing over obvious scam and fake stories, it is clear to see that unidentified flying objects do exist. So the question is not whether they exist or not, but rather, what are they? Are they of terrestrial or extra-terrestrial origin? And what is their purpose?
UFOs and the limits of science
Many prominent scientists have already stated that other civilizations must exist in the Universe, and that it would be statistically impossible for this not to be the case. However, with our knowledge of science and technology today, we cannot yet support the means for interstellar travel, and since we have not discovered intelligent life in our solar system, the assumption is made that there must be no way that extra-terrestrials could have travelled to Earth. However, this argument is of course flawed because it is based within the framework of our own understanding of the universe, and does not take into account the capabilities of civilizations that may be millions of years ahead of our own. It also hinges on the following assumptions:
We know everything about physics and reality and therefore there is no way that such distant travel can be achieved.
We are using our means to try to contact other civilizations (e.g. SETI’s attempts to pick up radio or communication signals) and since we don’t perceive any signals of OUR type, nothing must exist.
We are looking for organic forms of life exactly like us and for planets with the exact same conditions as ours.
It is clear that these arguments show the arrogance of mankind, a mankind that may just be an infant in the Universe. And this is not new. During the history of humanity, in every single period of time, we believed that we knew the truth, only to have it replaced later on by new ‘knowledge’.

Quantum physics, still a relatively new and unexplored field in Science, has shown that reality could be completely different to what we believe it to be. Powerful telescopes have shown distant planets in solar systems that could possibly sustain life. Theories of wormholes and warp drives have shown that at a theoretical level we could achieve interstellar travel. Yes, we would require incredible amounts of energy to even think of trying to achieve something like this, so according to our standards today it is impossible to achieve, but in theory it can be achieved.

Recent research concerning the origin of life on Earth suggests that the physical and chemical processes leading to the origin of life occur rapidly in the early history of the majority of planets within our Milky Way galaxy–perhaps as many as a million–are inhabited by technical civilizations in advance of our own. Reluctance to engage with the UFO subject
The reason that the scientific community is not dealing seriously with UFOs is because the topic has been extensively ridiculed both by the media and in academic circles, with false information spread everywhere. For similar reasons, military personnel, astronauts, pilots, and other categories of professionals do not want to talk because, either they have been forced to sign confidentiality agreements, or because of fear that their careers would be destroyed. This is why we have seen many examples of ‘death bed confessions’.
One such case was with astronaut Gordon Cooper, who told the world about his experience encountering a UFO during his flight in the Mercury capsule in 1963. Before he died he stated: “for many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us”.
While great efforts have been made to ridicule and disparage anyone who lends support to the existence of UFOs, the fact remains that there are numerous high-profile cases that are supported by solid evidence, and which should not be dismissed.
Recorded UFO sightings with extensive witness support
Below I present a very limited list constituting strong evidence for the existence of unidentified flying objects in the last 60 years.
It all happened in the early hours of February 25 in 1942. An aircraft flew over LA County that sparked an air raid alert (it was in the midst of WWII). Searchlights and guns were locked onto the aircraft for about an hour. The picture below appeared in the LA Times in a story about the Battle of LA It clearly shows a night time defensive response to an air raid. The aircraft was not hostile and obviously was not damaged by the attack. The Government stated that the craft they were shooting at was unidentified.

This incident involved a group of American servicemen stationed at a military base in Suffolk that contained a storage centre with nuclear weapons. There had been three consecutive night of sighting objects in the sky over the base, in some cases shining a light down upon the nuclear weapons storage. On the third night, approximately two dozen servicemen were sent into the forest to investigate one set of mysterious lights. The men reported seeing a spacecraft on the ground in close proximity to them and three extra-terrestrial beings. One serviceman claimed to have touched the craft. The whole incident was filmed and photographed by one of the servicemen, but all photos and videos were removed by the US military. When the British Government released the UFO files, the Rendlesham incident papers were missing – as reported on BBC.
In November, 1986, a Japanese crew of a jumbo freighter aircraft witnessed three enormous unidentified objects while flying over Alaska, USA. This sighting gained international attention when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it was going to officially investigate this sighting because the Air Route Traffic Control Center in Anchorage, Alaska, had reported that the UFO had been detected on radar. The UFOs in this case were tracked on both ground and airborne radar, witnessed by experienced airline pilots, and confirmed by a FAA Division Chief.

The Belgium UFO wave began in November 1989. The events of 29 November would be documented by no less than thirty different groups of witnesses, and three separate groups of police officers. All of the reports related to a large object flying at low altitude. The craft was of a flat, triangular shape, with lights underneath. This giant craft did not make a sound as it slowly moved across the landscape of Belgium. The Belgium UFO wave peaked with events on the night of 30/31 March 1990. On that night, unknown objects were tracked on radar, chased by two Belgian Air Force F16s, photographed, and were sighted by an estimated 13,500 people on the ground – 2,600 of whom filed written statements describing in detail what they had seen. Following the incident, the Belgian air force released a report detailing the events of that night.
The Phoenix Lights (also identified as “Lights over Phoenix”) was a UFO sighting which occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, and Sonora, Mexico on Thursday, March 13, 1997. Lights of varying descriptions were seen by thousands of people between 19:30 and 22:30 MST, in a space of about 300 miles (480 km), from the Nevada line, through Phoenix, to the edge of Tucson. Witnesses claim to have observed a huge square-shaped UFO, containing five spherical lights or possibly light-emitting engines. Fife Symington, the governor at the time, was one witness to this incident; he later called the object “otherworldly.”
On the night of August 30, a cluster of multi-colored lights was seen floating in the sky above Osaka. Several people reported to Twitter that they saw a group of lights forming a triangular shape and flashing green, red and white in the night sky above Izumi city in Osaka Prefecture. The sightings caused a commotion on Twitter after one user wrote: “Everyone in Osaka, go outside! There’s a UFO!” prompting others to grab their cameras and snap up photos of mysterious luminous object.
At approximately 16:15 CST on Tuesday November 7, 2006, federal authorities at Chicago O’Hare International Airport received a report that a group of twelve airport employees were witnessing a metallic, saucer-shaped craft hovering over Gate C-17.
The object was first spotted by a ramp employee who was pushing back United Airlines Flight 446, which was departing Chicago for Charlotte, North Carolina. The employee apprised Flight 446’s crew of the object above their aircraft. It is believed that both the pilot and co-pilot also witnessed the object.
Several independent witnesses outside of the airport also saw the object. According to the Chicago Tribune’s Jon Hilkevitch, “The disc was visible for approximately two minutes and was seen by close to a dozen United Airlines employees, ranging from pilots to supervisors, who heard chatter on the radio and raced out to view it.”
The incident took place on May 2007 at 14.00 local time in Lima Peru. A series of moving lights resembling an armada of flying objects appeared in the skies. The story was reported on the news and was seen by thousands of people.
An unidentified flying object that disrupted air traffic in Hangzhou for an hour on Wednesday, 10th of July 2010. A flight crew preparing for descent first detected the object around 8:40 p.m. and notified the air traffic control department. Aviation authorities responded within minutes, grounding outbound flights and diverting inbound ones to airports in Ningbo and Wuxi. Eighteen flights were affected. A spokesman from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) confirmed to ABC News that the matter is under investigation. He declined to disclose further details. A day after the sighting, however, an anonymous source told China Daily that authorities already discovered the identity of the UFO after an investigation but could not publically disclose the information because “there was a military connection.”

Disclosure
Many would say that the above examples constitute irrefutable proof that extra-terrestrial UFOs exist. So why isn’t the public told about it? Imagine the implications that disclosure would have and what it would mean. Acknowledgment of extra-terrestrial civilizations having visited Earth would mean that many of the myths and legends of the past are in fact based on reality. It would suggests that humanity has been influenced for millennia by other-worldly beings, beings that in the past were considered gods. Disclosure would entirely topple the status quo and the balance of powers in society, and turn upside down what we know about the history of mankind.
The acknowledgement of the UFO phenomena is an event with the power to bring a global revolution in every sector of our lives today – technology and energy supply, communication and environmental concerns, society and religion. Is this what governments and corporations are afraid of – a shift in balance and their loss of their positions of power and control? Or is it that the powers that be are afraid of re-writing our human history?

March 2, 2015 - Archaeologists in Peru have discovered an ancient ceremonial center and a circular-shaped pyramid in Miravalles, in the region of Cajamarca in northern Peru.
According to a news report in The Epoch Times, the site dates back an incredible 5,500 years. Until now, it was believed that the Norte Chico civilization of Supe, Peru was the earliest civilization of the Americas. Their capital was the Sacred City of Caral – a 5,000-year-old metropolis complete with complex agricultural practices, rich culture, and monumental architecture, including six large pyramidal structures, stone and earthen platform mounds, temples, amphitheatre, sunken circular plazas, and residential areas.
However, the latest discovery suggests that the Norte Chico civilization may not be the oldest after all.
The discovery was announced by research Victor Colan at a Peruvian press conference on 21st October. Colan revealed that the research team found a ceremonial center and a circular step-pyramid (known in Peru as Huacas), with three platforms 30 meters in diameter.
The pyramid resembles two other circular Huacas found in Jaen, also in the Cajamarca region. The structure had large semi-circular walls built with a mixture of mud mortar and stones up to 200 kg in weight.
“The archaeological site of Miravalles in the province of San Miguel in Cajamarca with 5,500 years, is 500 years more ancient than the sacred city of Caral,” said Colan. “Not only Caral is the original center of the civilization of Peru but so is Cajamarca, in northern Peru.”
The researcher concluded that “Peru is the oldest civilization in the world along with Mesopotamia and Egypt,” and asked the Ministry of Culture to continue financing the excavations.

The story begins in 1954, three years before mankind launched its first artificial satellite, the Soviet Sputnik 1. On May 14, 1954, several newspapers published articles centered on a statement belonging to retired Major D. E. Keyhoe. At the time, Keyhoe believed the Earth was circled by one — if not two artificial satellites. Scientists at the famous White Sands government facility in New Mexico were actively researching this possibility and trying to determine the purpose and origin of these objects.
Later that summer, Aviation Week magazine attempted to explain the mystery by saying the two satellites’ orbits had been mapped out at an altitude of 400, respectively 600 miles above Earth.
Pentagon scare over the observance of two previously unobserved satellites orbiting the Earth has dissipated with the identification of the objects as natural, not artificial satellites. Dr. Lincoln LaPaz, expert on extraterrestrial bodies from the University of New Mexico, headed the identification project. One satellite is orbiting about 400 miles out, while the other track is 600 miles from the Earth. Pentagon thought momentarily the Russians had beaten the U.S. to space explorations.”
Keep in mind that this was all happening during the space race, when spirits were high and tensions were higher. The competition between the United States and the Soviet Union fueled the paranoia as each nation raced towards the sky.
Many astronomers suspected a large satellite was indeed orbiting the Earth and by 1960, even the U.S. Department of Defense acknowledged this alien presence.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 — An unidentified, silent satellite has been discovered circling the Earth in a near-polar orbit by United States tracking stations, the Defense Department said today. The identity of the mystery satellite — which has been dubbed “the dark satellite” are not known despite nearly two weeks of tracking.”
It wasn’t long before people made the connection between the unknown object and Nikola Tesla. In 1899, he had detected a repeating radio signal and believed it originated in outer space. The enigma surrounding the black satellite was deepened by its strange behavior. Virtually all the artificial satellites had been launched on West to East orbits (following our planet’s natural rotation) while this one circled Earth on a polar orbit, from North to South. Interestingly enough, polar orbits are employed by modern observational satellites that carry out mapping missions. So, was the Black Knight Satellite an observational unit? If so, who put it there?
Some astronomers who claimed to have observed it said the object would disappear, only to reappear in a different place, traveling along a different orbit. They also reported it was moving twice as fast as any other known satellite.
The Black Knight is often mentioned in conjunction with astronaut Gordon Cooper’s historic flight. In 1963, on the last of his 22 days spent in orbit, Cooper radioed Muchea Tracking Station in Australia, telling them that he was able to see a glowing green object rapidly approaching his capsule. Although his sighting had received live coverage by the National Broadcasting Company, reporters were forbidden to question him upon his return to Earth. Although Major Cooper was a stern believer in aliens and their presence here on Earth, there is no link between his sighting and the Black Knight.
An interesting yet unverified aspect is the alleged decoding of the radio message the satellite is said to broadcast. As the story goes, ham radio operators who picked up the alien transmission managed to interpret it as a star map that pointed to Epsilon Boötis, a star in the Boötes constellation, located at a distance of 52 light years from Earth. Interestingly enough, in Babylonian mythology, the Boötes constellation was depicted as the god Enlil, the chief divinity among the Anunnaki on Earth.
Almost every article on the Black Knight Satellite mentions its age of 13,000 years without referencing the origin of this claim. In 1973, Scottish astronomer and science fiction writer Duncan Lunan said he had succeeded in decoding the message caught by two Norwegian physicists in the 1920’s. The message was said to have come from a probe orbiting the Earth in the same Lagrangian point as the Moon and that probe had been sent a long time ago by the inhabitants of a planet orbiting Epsilon Boötis. The message read:
Start here. Our home is Epsilon Boötes , which is a double star. We live on the sixth planet of seven, coming from the sun, which is the larger of the two. Our sixth planet has one moon. Our fourth planet has three. Our first and third planets each have one. Our probe is in the position of Arcturus, known in our maps.”
The star Arcturus was pictured in the deciphered star map in the position it occupied 13,000 years ago, hence the supposed age of the Black Knight.
Lunan’s theory was picked up by Time magazine and included in several documentaries. However, in 1976 he acknowledged it was flawed and withdrew it, only to revise and reinterpret part of it in 1998.
There are a number of famous photos that allegedly show the alien satellite. The official explanations for the object they show is that it’s nothing more than a thermal blanket that had come off one of the many satellites we’ve put up there. While this might be the case, it only explains the photos and not the Black Knight itself, as the unknown object had been reported prior to these photos.
Another aspect is that these famous photos show an object far smaller than the one indicated in earlier reports, which was said to be as large as a city block. On a side note, the vimanas portrayed in ancient Hindu texts were of similar size. Perhaps there’s a connection between the two.
And since no one can deny the size and scope of the UFO phenomena, it stands to reason that among all reports of flying saucers in our skies and oceans we can fit one more: a huge alien satellite orbiting above our planet.
Like with most things related to the unexplained, there is an aura of misinformation surrounding the Black Knight Satellite. Keep in mind, this is the internet, the place where things come to get blown out of proportion.
One last thing, before you go. In medieval times, a black knight was one who had no allegiance or opted to hide it by covering his colors and emblems, effectively stating that he served no lord. Quite a fitting name for an enigmatic alien watcher, isn’t it?

A large number of ‘UFO’ photos are undoubtedly the result of image manipulation due to the fact that they’re relatively easy to produce. As a matter of fact, doctoring photos is about as old as photography itself.
However, most of the following images have been analyzed by experts and deemed genuine or unaltered. Over the years, some have gathered more publicity than the others but are no less enigmatic. Here are some of them and their accompanying stories.
The 1870 Mount Washington UFO Photo
This photo dates back to 1870, long before flying saucers even became a notion. It was taken in 1870 in New Hampshire and shows a strange object in the sky over Mount Washington. It is actually a stereoscopic photograph captured with a special camera. At the time, stereo photos were appreciated due to the fact that they provided a feeling of depth that regular photos lacked.
This particular photo is one of, if not the oldest UFO photograph ever captured.
The Battle of Los Angeles
Although this photo was heavily doctored by the media at the time, we included it due to the famous event it is linked to: the Battle of Los Angeles.
The notorious event occurred just several months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, when spirits were tense and nerves were strained. At 2:25 a.m. on the night of February 25, 1942 alarms were once again heard in Los Angeles, California. Unknown objects were reported flying in the sky and a blackout was declared. The terrified inhabitants of LA turned their lights off.
Searchlights revealed small red and silvery objects flying in high-speed formation at high altitude and at 3:16 a.m. the military opens fire on a large low-flying object. According to reports, over 1,400 artillery shells were fired but the object was unaffected, despite being hit multiple times.
To this day, the event remains one of the most enigmatic UFO incidents and this photo is certainly one of the most famous ever taken.
The McMinniville UFO Photographs
These photographs have been in the center of controversy since they were snapped by Paul Trent on his farm, on May 11, 1950. At around 7:30 in the evening, his wife told him she had seen a “slow-moving, metallic disk-shaped object” heading their way. He grabbed his camera and took two pictures before the object disappeared.
During the summer, his photographs became famous and were reprinted in the June issue of Life Magazine. In 1967, Condon Committee investigator William K. Hartmann examined the negatives and found no evidence of tampering. He then interviewed the Trents and was impressed with their sincerity. He concluded that “this is one of the few UFO reports in which all factors investigated, geometric, psychological, and physical, appear to be consistent with the assertion that an extraordinary flying object, silvery, metallic, disk-shaped, tens of meters in diameter, and evidently artificial, flew within sight of two witnesses.”
The Trents did not receive any money for their photographs and sought neither fame nor fortune.
The Lubbock Lights
The Lubbock Lights are widely regarded as one of the first major UFO cases in the United States and refer to multiple sightings of strange lights over Lubbock, Texas in August-September 1951.
The first sighting occurred on August 25, when three professors from Texas Technological College (now called Texas Tech University) noticed a group of several dozen lights flying overhead. As they were discussing the event, a second group of lights passed above them in the same manner. After ruling out meteors, the professors reported their sighting to the local newspaper.
On September 5, they would witness the lights again and this time two more professors were present. One of them, Dr. Grayson Mead said the lights “appeared to be about the size of a dinner plate and they were greenish-blue, slightly fluorescent in color. They were smaller than the full moon at the horizon. There were about a dozen to fifteen of these lights…they were absolutely circular…it gave all of us…an extremely eerie feeling.”
Seeing as the objects had passed behind a cloud formation at an altitude of about 2,000 feet (610 meters), they calculated the objects had been traveling at a speed of over 600 mph (970 km/h).
The photo above was taken by Carl Hart, a freshman at Texas Tech on the evening of August 30. He had seen a group of 20 lights flying in a v-shaped formation and took his 35-mm Kodak camera out to his backyard to see if more would appear. Hart managed to take five photos of the objects. After developing the photographs, Hart took them to the local newspaper and received $10 in exchange.
Like the McMinniville photos, these were also featured in Life Magazine and thus widely publicized. They were analyzed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base physics laboratory and the supervisor of Project Blue Book at the time, Edwin J. Ruppelt concluded they weren’t fake but could not definitively prove they were genuine either.
To this day, Hart maintains his photographs are genuine.
The Barra da Tijuca UFO Photographs
The Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO) considers the Barra da Tijuca photos “one of the best (and possibly the best) on record.
The five photos were snapped on May 7, 1952 by press photographer Ed Keffel near Barra da Tijuca, Brazil. Keffel was accompanied by Joao Martins on a routine photo shoot when Martins spotted a flying object approaching at high speed. At first, they believed the object was an airplane but eventually noticed it was flying too fast and was tilted sideways. As the object approached, they realized it was not an airplane.
Keffel took five photos of the UFO before it disappeared into the distance.
An investigation conducted by the Brazilian Air Force determined the photos were genuine. Whether the object they picture was indeed a flying saucer cannot be determined.

Picking up from where we left off, here are another five famous UFO photographs and their respective background stories.
The 1952 Washington, D.C. UFO Sightings
In July 1952, on two consecutive weekends, Washington, D.C. witnessed a series of unbelievable events that would later become one of the most discussed UFO incidents in modern history.
It all started shortly before midnight on July 19, when air traffic controller Ed Nugent noticed seven unidentified objects on his radar. More objects soon followed and nearby Andrews Air Force Base was notified. Jet fighters were scrambled from Newcastle AFB in Delaware but as they arrived over Washington, the mysterious objects vanished, a fact confirmed by radar operators. When the jet fighters ran out of fuel and had to land, the objects reappeared.
News outlets from around the world picked up on the story and the incident received global coverage. But it wasn’t over yet.
The next Saturday, the objects reappeared. This time, the jet fighters engaged in the pursuit of several “glowing orbs” that were clocked at speeds in excess of 7,000 mph (11,000 km/h). The UFOs would make impossible turns and went from being stationary to hypersonic speeds in a matter of seconds. At the break of dawn, the objects disappeared.
This controversial incident has yet to be explained.
The Salem, Massachusetts UFOs
1952 saw a significant increase in UFO activity and over the summer, a wave of sightings was reported all over the world.
The photo above was taken at 09:35 a.m. by Shell Alpert on July 16. Alpert was a Coast Guard seaman stationed at a base near Salem, MA and captured this photo through the window of his photo lab. It shows four elliptical objects flying in formation at a low altitude.
The famous photo has been republished many times and was deemed “unexplained” by Project Blue Book.
Namur, Belgium UFO
Several witnesses saw this unexplained object on the evening of June 5, 1955 in the skies over Namur, Belgium. One of them managed to take three pictures of the object before it disappeared.
According to the witnesses’ testimonies, they saw a flicker of light moving very fast and without making a sound. The flicker was caused by a disc-shaped object that left behind a white trail. The UFO lost altitude and made a sharp turn before rapidly ascending and intersecting with its trail.
The object then accelerated upwards, leaving behind a second trail of incandescent particles.
1956 Childerhose UFO
This photo was taken on August 27, 1956 by a Royal Canadian Air Force pilot while flying in formation at an altitude of 36,000 feet (11 km). He held the second position in a formation of four F-86 Sabrejets while passing over the Canadian Rockies at a speed of 460 mph (740 km/h) when he noticed a very bright and sharply-defined disc-shaped object
The pilot banked his plane and snapped this photo. Based on its position relative to the clouds, the pilot estimated the object was located at an altitude between 10,000 and 13,000 feet (3-4 km).
While some have suggested the object was nothing more than an illuminated cloud formation, this claim has been invalidated due to the object’s intense and uniform brightness. If it were a cloud that reflected sunlight, its right side should have been considerably darker, similar to the surrounding clouds. In fact, the object was “considerably brighter than sunlight” and therefore must have had a different explanation.
Spectral analysis of the photograph indicated the UFO must have radiated more than a gigawatt of power. Needless to say, there were no known aircraft capable of doing that in 1956.
Billy Meier’s 1964 New Delhi UFO Photo
Eduard Albert Meier, better known as Billy Meier is one of the most influential ufologists, whether you decide to believe his stories or not. He has been the source of many controversial UFO photographs, videos, sound recordings and metal samples.
Meier claims to have been in contact with extraterrestrials since 1942, when, at the age of five, he was contacted by a member of the Plejaren, which we all know as Pleiadians today.
His vast collection of photos includes images of disc-shaped objects in the Swiss countryside, as well as photos that appear to have been taken outside of Earth. He also has pictures that show prehistoric scenes and some that feature a devastated future. His collection was the subject of an extensive investigation whose results were met with mixed emotions.
While some believe Meier has proven beyond a doubt that alien civilizations exist and regularly visit Earth, others have blatantly dismissed his claims as carefully orchestrated hoaxes.
Despite this controversy, his photos are some of the most famous out there.

A group of friends was fascinated and perplexed by a green UFO over the English city of Birmingham on February 14.
Media outlet Birmingham Mail reports, “One of the group steadied their mobile phone to record the luminous dot from their vantage point near a Lloyds Bank branch on the corner of Rochester Road and Bristol Road South.”

Witness Wayne Baylis is the one who recorded video of the green UFO with his phone’s camera. He uploaded two videos to YouTube, and provided the following description: “Me & my friends watched this green object change direction in an unusal [sic] way in the night sky then disappeared in a flash.”
The videos do show the unusual green object hovering in the sky, then moving from side to side, and eventually descending before disappearing “in a flash.”
The appearance and behavior observed in the two videos are consistent with a remote controlled drone, like a quadcopter, which have become quite common. But the low-quality videos were recorded with a phone, and were shot at distance. Without clear details of the object, it’s nearly impossible to conclusively identify the UFO.
This strange green UFO could always be something more mysterious. But, based on the available evidence, a remote-controlled craft is the likely identification.

Dr. W (biochemist) and Dr. Y (bacteriologist), both employed by a private company, about 11:00 a.m. were driving to their office when Y saw something odd overhead that seemed to be moving against the wind. They entered the company parking lot and got out of the car to look. Directly over a building across the street was a small, metallic-looking disc, tilted at about a 20 degree angle and rotating around a vertical axis, wobbling “like the motion of a disc in a water meter. The distance was estimated to be about 50 ft, and the disc appeared to be 4-5 feet in diameter The wobble allowed them to judge the thickness as about 1.5 feet as the disc proceeded directly over their heads, continuing to rotate and wobble. No sound or exhaust emission of any sort was detected. It moved in an arc about 40-50 feet overhead very slowly, perhaps 8-10 m.p.h. When it neared some railroad yards, the disc curved around and made a fairly distinct turn, heading back toward them. At this point Dr. Y suddenly saw something else overhead, which Dr. W also then saw: a black object at high altitude hovering motionless under an overcast (later determined to be about 10,000 ft). It was round, and apparently much larger than the silvery disc, perhaps 100 ft in diameter. As they watched, two identical objects came into position as if they had dropped out of the cloud overcast, and the three objects jittered around like boats in a stream”. About this time the small disc had neared again, still moving slowly. Suddenly it stopped spinning, hung motionless for a moment, then rapidly climbed towards the NNE in the general direction of Mt. Hamilton. At the same time that the small disc began its climb, one of the three black objects left the formation and headed in the same general direction. The black object and the climbing disc seemed to be on a converging course, when suddenly both seemed to disappear into the overcast.
The remaining two black objects maintained their original position for another minute or so, then one of them headed off to the north and out of sight, while the other went directly up into the clouds and disappeared, terminating the incident at about 11:15 a.m. The two scientists immediately went into their offices and dictated accounts of the sighting for a permanent record. Dr. W felt obliged to make an official report and placed a call to Moffett Field. While waiting on the line for someone to be found to take his account, he had second thoughts about exposing himself to personal ridicule and hung up, so no report was made to the Air Force or other agencies. Special significance: In addition to the observation by scientifically trained witnesses, and loss of an official report due to the ridicule factor, the scientists’ reaction is instructive. They had found it “a most disturbing experience:’ They had been forced to the conclusion that they had seen some objects of such unusual propulsion characteristics that it was difficult to think of it as anything other than extraterrestrial.

De vindplaats is zo goed als onaangetast, aldus archeoloog Christopher Fisher van de Universiteit van Colorado. De artefacten zijn gedateerd op 1000 tot 1400 na Christus. In tegenstelling tot de in de regio thuishorende Maya’s is over deze cultuur zo goed als niets bekend. De archeologen hebben er zelfs geen naam voor.
De legende van de ‘Witte Stad’ of de ‘Stad van de Apengod’ wordt in de omgeving al eeuwen doorverteld. Eerste concrete aanwijzingen voor de site kregen de wetenschappers in 2012 door luchtfoto’s. Na de expeditie gaan ze er vanuit dat ze niet één stad, maar de resten van een complete verloren gegane beschaving hebben gevonden.
Om plunderingen te voorkomen willen de archeologen de locatie van de stad niet prijsgeven. De stad ligt in een afgelegen en onbewoond gebied. Al lang doen geruchten de ronde dat er een verloren stad in dat gebied ligt.
A mysterious object has been photographed in the skies over Greenville County in South Carolina.
The anomaly which was snapped by local resident Stephanie Davenport appears to show a huge circular object with six possible lights attached to its body.
“I originally thought it was the moon, but when I zoomed in on my pictured it clearly wasn't. It is round and looked to have lights on it.”
Davenport said she consulted someone who might have the answer: a family member who works for NASA.
According to Davenport, this was what he wrote back, "I think those dots are just pixels in your camera CCD that are over exposed. They are too orderly to be sun spots. Nothing to get excited about."
Still, she's not quite ready to accept that explanation.

March 3, 2015 - An expedition to Honduras has emerged from the jungle with dramatic news of the discovery of a mysterious culture's lost city, never before explored. The team was led to the remote, uninhabited region by long-standing rumors that it was the site of a storied "White City," also referred to in legend as the "City of the Monkey God."
Archaeologists surveyed and mapped extensive plazas, earthworks, mounds, and an earthen pyramid belonging to a culture that thrived a thousand years ago, and then vanished. The team, which returned from the site last Wednesday, also discovered a remarkable cache of stone sculptures that had lain untouched since the city was abandoned.
In contrast to the nearby Maya, this vanished culture has been scarcely studied and it remains virtually unknown. Archaeologists don't even have a name for it.
Christopher Fisher, a Mesoamerican archaeologist on the team from Colorado State University, said the pristine, unlooted condition of the site was "incredibly rare." He speculated that the cache, found at the base of the pyramid, may have been an offering.
"The undisturbed context is unique," Fisher said. "This is a powerful ritual display, to take wealth objects like this out of circulation."
The tops of 52 artifacts were peeking from the earth. Many more evidently lie below ground, with possible burials. They include stone ceremonial seats (called metates) and finely carved vessels decorated with snakes, zoomorphic figures, and vultures.
The most striking object emerging from the ground is the head of what Fisher speculated might be "a were-jaguar," possibly depicting a shaman in a transformed, spirit state. Alternatively, the artifact might be related to ritualized ball games that were a feature of pre-Columbian life in Mesoamerica.
"The figure seems to be wearing a helmet," said Fisher. Team member Oscar Neil Cruz, head archaeologist at the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History (IHAH), believes the artifacts date to A.D. 1000 to 1400.
The objects were documented but left unexcavated. To protect the site from looters, its location is not being revealed.
The ruins were first identified in May 2012, during an aerial survey of a remote valley in La Mosquitia, a vast region of swamps, rivers, and mountains containing some of the last scientifically unexplored places on earth.
For a hundred years, explorers and prospectors told tales of the white ramparts of a lost city glimpsed above the jungle foliage. Indigenous stories speak of a "white house" or a "place of cacao" where Indians took refuge from Spanish conquistadores—a mystical, Eden-like paradise from which no one ever returned.
Since the 1920s, several expeditions had searched for the White City, or Ciudad Blanca. The eccentric explorer Theodore Morde mounted the most famous of these in 1940, under the aegis of the Museum of the American Indian (now part of the Smithsonian Institution).
Morde returned from Mosquitia with thousands of artifacts, claiming to have entered the City. According to Morde, the indigenous people there said it contained a giant, buried statue of a monkey god. He refused to divulge the location out of fear, he said, that the site would be looted. He later committed suicide and his site—if it existed at all—was never identified.
More recently, documentary filmmakers Steve Elkins and Bill Benenson launched a search for the lost city.
They identified a crater-shaped valley, encircled by steep mountains, as a possible location.

John Greenewald spent nearly two decades filing Freedom of Information Act requests to gain access to the federal government’s files on UFOs and other mysterious phenomena, which he’s compiled in a newly launched website where users can search and view thousands of declassified records.

This site was created by The Black Vault to house 129,491 pages, comprising of more than 10,000 cases of the Project Blue Book, Project Sign and Project Grudge files declassifed. Project Blue Book (along with Sign and Grudge) was the name that was given to the official investigation by the United States military to determine what the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) phenomena was. It lasted from 1947 – 1969. Below you will find the case files compiled for research, and available free to download.
Named Project Blue Book after the Air Force’s scientific study to identify the origin of UFO sightings in the 1950s, the database offers 12,618 reports of strange sightings, of which 701 remain “unidentified.”
The Air Force discontinued its UFO program in 1985, when it determined, with an air of finality, that “no UFO reported, investigated and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security [and] there has been no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as ‘unidentified’ are extraterrestrial vehicles.”
They weren’t always so confident. In 1952 the Pentagon actually considered classifying UFOs as a national security threat after a flurry of sights were reported in Washington, D.C. — an event known as the “Washington flap” or the “Washington National Airport Sightings.” Notably, that case — as well as the famous sightings in Roswell — were not declassified to Greenewald’s website, despite requests for all UFO sightings.
Still, the Project Blue Book does provide a bunch of other bizarre accounts of unidentified objects flying through the skies — enough to reawaken the average sci-fi fan’s inner Fox Mulder. Here’s a couple clips of sightings from the database, offering a sampling of what awaits you if you plunge into the reports.
One sighting recorded in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico in May 1952, is of unknown origin. “It is the opinion or the investigator that all the observers are of sound judgment and integrity and not influenced by mass hysteria.”

Astronomers Find a Dusty Galaxy That Shouldn't Exist
An object from the very early universe is bafflingly rich with dust that theory says shouldn't have formed yet.

Peering back in time to find the very earliest objects in the universe, an international team of astronomers has discovered a galaxy that shouldn't be there at all.
The problem, the scientists report Monday in Nature, is that while the tiny galaxy dates from just 700 million years or so after the big bang, it's far more dusty than something this young and small has any right to be.
It's surprising, says Daniel Marrone, a University of Arizona expert on galaxy formation who wasn't involved in the research, because although dust is essential for the formation of planets and other solid material, the cosmos started out with no dust at all. In the aftermath of the big bang, the universe consisted only of hydrogen and helium gas (along with dark matter, but that's invisible).
The dusty galaxy is just one of the recent surprises astronomers have found. "Last week," says Marrone, "we learned of an incredibly massive black hole in the early universe. Now we have this average galaxy with significant amounts of dust. We've had this cartoon picture of the early universe, but it's clear that we really don't know what's going on."
What Astronomers Think They Know
The gas in the post-big bang universe condensed to form the first stars, which forged heavier elements, including carbon, silicon, and oxygen, then died and released those elements into space. It was from these that the first particles of dust formed.
Those first stars had already lived and died by the time this newly discovered galaxy, known as A1689-zD1, was up and running, so the universe was hardly dust free at that point. But most of the dust should have been in large, bright galaxies that formed lots of stars. A1689-zD1 is relatively small and dim—no bigger than the Large Magellanic Cloud, a dwarf galaxy that orbits the Milky Way.
Few early galaxies have been spotted, because even the brightest among them is far away and thus relatively dim. To get around that problem, astronomers use the magnifying effect of gravity. Einstein's general theory of relativity says the gravity from an object closer to Earth can warp light rays from a more distant one. (Einstein thought we'd never actually observe this so-called gravitational lensing, but he was dead wrong about that.)
In this case, the Nature paper's lead author, Darach Watson, of the deliciously named Dark Cosmology Centre at the University of Copenhagen, used the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile's Atacama Desert to look at a massive cluster of galaxies called Abell 1689. The cluster's gravity magnified A1689-zD1 by a factor of nine, says Watson, which allowed him and several colleagues to gauge its distance from Earth and thus how long ago its light began traveling in our direction.
The VLT can see starlight but not dust, so Watson called on a colleague who was using the dust-sensitive ALMA radio telescope (see "Cosmic Dawn" in National Geographic magazine). "She had a look," says Watson, "and bingo!"
Like Marrone, Watson was taken aback by how dusty A1689-zD1 turned out to be. In bigger galaxies with more massive, short-lived stars, dust can pile up quickly since giant stars explode violently as supernovae after just a few million years. In smaller galaxies, most of the dust should emerge from the more gentle deaths of smaller stars that live for billions of years. So maybe A1689-zD1's dust comes from supernovae after all, says Watson. "But they'd have to produce the maximum possible dust," he says, to account for what ALMA sees, "and the dust can't be destroyed."
The only way to find out for sure is to uncover more galaxies like A1689-zD1. Unfortunately, they're extremely difficult to find—and the one other example astronomers have is almost entirely dust free, so it's impossible to say which type is more common. "We don't have any other candidates at this point," says Watson.
With ALMA, completed two years ago, and a new generation of giant optical telescopes now under construction, however, they're likely to find more of these galaxies before long. (See "Cosmic Vision: Telescopes.") The very early universe doesn't make a lot of sense at the moment—but that's almost certainly going to change.
A U.S. Air Force veteran believes a UFO incident he experienced while on duty in 1980 is the root of his current health problems. However, initially the government denied he was on active duty at the time. With the help of a lawyer and U.S. Senator John McCain’s office, his records have been corrected and he has received his full medical disability. He and his lawyer now claim their victory represents the “U.S. government’s de facto acknowledgement of the existence of UFOs.”
John Burroughs was serving as a U.S. Air Force police officer at Royal Air Force Base (RAF) Bentwaters, near the Rendelsham forest in Suffolk, United Kingdom in December 1980 when the UFO incident took place. The base, along with its sister base, RAF Woodbridge, were on lease to the U.S.

Late on the night of the fateful incident, lights were seen in the forest and Burroughs and several other security personnel were sent out to investigate. They saw a bright light that grew brighter as they approached. It then flew off into the night sky.
The next night the lights were seen again. Skeptical of the whole affair, and eager to figure out what he assumed was a prosaic answer to the sightings, Deputy Base Commander Charles Halt took a group of men out again. This group included Burroughs. This time the entire group saw lights flying around the forest. Some of these orbs of light beamed rays of light on the ground near the men’s feet and on the nearby munitions storage.

The event became a large story in the UK, and is still debated to this day.
Burroughs, who along with an airman named James Penniston approached closest to the object, feels his health issues stem from his proximity to the UFO. He has since found a document that was created by UK Defence Intelligence that also speculates this could be the case. A section of the report that covers UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) – another term for UFO – radiation, speculates, ”The well-reported Rendlesham Forest/Bentwaters event is an example where it might be postulated that several observers were probably exposed to UAP radiation for longer than normal UAP sighting periods.”
Burroughs has since suffered from congestive heart failure, which he says he has been told by scientists can be caused by radiation exposure.
While living in Arizona, Burroughs sought to get his medical records from the U.S. Air Force to help his doctor diagnose his problems. However, they said he was not in the service at that time. Burroughs sought the help of a lawyer familiar with Veterans Affairs (VA) cases and U.S. Senator John McCain’s office. McCain’s office was able to get his military records corrected, but, according to Burroughs and his lawyer Pat Frascogna, McCain’s office was not confident he would ever get his medical records.

In an Open Minds UFO Radio interview with Frascogna, he said it was not unusual that someone who worked on classified projects in the military would have records withheld. He said in these cases the military typically settles and grants disability. However, these are individuals who knowingly working on classified projects. Burroughs was not working on classified projects. However, the government is not required to say why military records have been classified or by whom.

At the recent 2015 International UFO Congress, Burroughs and Frascogna announced that, as Frascogna predicted, Burroughs was granted full medical disability. However, they say his medical records remain classified.
To Burroughs and Frascogna the granting of the benefits signifies an admission by the VA and Department of Defense (DOD) that his health issues stem from his years in the service. Furthermore, they believe it is an admission that they are a result of his close proximity to a UFO.
In a press release titled “U.S. Government’s De Facto Acknowledgement of the Existence of UFOs,” Burroughs writes:
In January of 2015, after years of exhaustive efforts the VA settled, in full, with me. I needed someone to champion my cause, someone not afraid to put themselves at risk to help me. I was lucky. I found two to champion my cause, my attorney Pat Frascogna, and Senator John McCain and his staff. Through their efforts, I received lifesaving heart surgery to replace a badly shredded anterior mitral valve caused by the UAP radiation, and a settlement from the DOD and VA admitting I was injured in the line of duty in December of 1980.
Although this story has a happy ending, Burroughs and Frascogna say they aren’t finished looking into what really happened in the Rendelsham Forest in 1980, and what the UK and U.S. governments know about it.

Burroughs has submitted several Freedom of Information Act Requests in the UK and U.S. He has already been able to get the UK government to admit that they have more UFO files to release, even though they had previously claimed to have released all of their UFO files. He also says he is confident he will receive more files from the U.S. government that have not been available to the public before.
The Rendelsham Forest incident is often referred to as UK’s Roswell, and like its American counterpart, is the gift that keeps on giving with alleged new discoveries coming to light on a regular basis. Stay tuned for more revelations from Burroughs and Frasogna, and the other numerous dogged researchers out there who will undoubtedly continue their search for answers.

U.S. Government’s De Facto Acknowledgement of the Existence of UFOs
PHOENIX, AZ — The United States Government has, for the first time ever, acknowledged by de facto the long-suspected reality of the UFO phenomenon. John Burroughs encountered a craft of unknown origin in England’s Rendlesham Forest in December of 1980 and suffered injury there from for which the Veterans Administration has now recognized by granting him full medical disability. The December 1980 Rendlesham Forest incident in the United Kingdom is arguably the most well documented and important UFO encounter in history. A UFO was seen over three consecutive nights by United States Air Force personnel stationed at the twin bases of Bentwaters and Woodbridge, near Ipswich, England — then the largest NATO air force bases at the height of the Cold War.
The UFO was tracked on radar and physical evidence was found at a site where the UFO was seen to land, including indentations in the frozen ground, scorch marks on the sides on the trees, and radiation levels subsequently assessed by the UK Ministry of Defense as “significantly higher than the average background”.
Airman First Class John Burroughs encountered the UFO at close proximity on the first night. While for many years the U.S. Government denied that this incident had even occurred, in 2006 the UK Government declassified an intelligence study on UFOs (codenamed Project Condign and classified as Secret UK Eyes Only) in which the following statement is found:

John Burroughs was one of those observers who was exposed to UAP radiation in the Rendlesham Forest in December 1980. However, despite having been exposed to UAP radiation as postulated by the UK’s own intelligence report, the U.S. Government stonewalled John, his attorney, and two United States senators for years. Now, after decades of persistence, the U.S. Government has finally acknowledged that John Burroughs suffered adverse health effects in the Rendlesham Forest and, therefore, has recognized the link between his health problems and the UFO he encountered. In an interesting twist, John’s complete medical records file from that time he served in England remains classified. In regard to the VA’s action on his case, John said:
