Posters for ten Hollywood entertainment products spanning twenty-five years reveal the depths of Hollywood's creative rut when depicting the abduction/experiencer phenomenon.
I recently interviewed five of today's most notable experiencers seeking their perspectives on Hollywood's historical engagement with the UFOlogical facet that has so profoundly affected their lives. What is their state of mind when viewing these products? To what extent do these movies and TV shows reflect their own experiences? What aspects of the experiencer phenomenon does Hollywood get right and wrong? What aspects does it continually ignore or overlook? Has one movie or TV show ever captured the true complexities of a phenomenon that is reported as being both subjective and objective, physical and mental, terrifying and enriching?
These questions and more are asked and answered in my forthcoming book in a chapter devoted exclusively to Hollywood's abduction-themed entertainment products, from the 1950s through to present day.
Regardless of one's take on the abduction/experiencer phenomenon, it's clear that --but for a few exceptions-- Hollywood's treatment of the subject has been laughably crude and simplistic. All five interviewees agreed that Hollywood must move beyond the genre trappings of sci-fi and horror; past even the explicitly 'alien', and toward a focus on the human; a focus on the frequently reported psychologically and spiritually transformative aspects of the experience at individual and collective levels. Surely a movie along these lines would be more interesting than yet more 'found-footage' scenes of monstrous, motiveless aliens anally probing families at random.

Mystery of the ‘Rottnest Monster’: Was a Giant Snake-shaped UFO detected off Western Australia?

A huge flying S-shape was seen on radar approaching Western Australia’s Rottnest Island the same day a local fisherman photographed a strange serpentine UFO. The military claimed naval exercises caused the radar phenomenon, but were they really behind a massive flying snake-shape big enough to span the English Channel? Or was there a cover-up?
Just before dawn on 12 February 2014, a Western Australian fisherman photographed strange lights over the ocean 40 kilometres off Mandurah, which he believed was a UFO. The Mandurah Mail published his images, which appear to show a serpentine band of light changing shape high in the sky. First it appears as a squiggle and then as a large ‘U’ shape. The article reported the object “moved and changed colours before disappearing with the sunrise”.

Giant Snake-shape Detected on Radar
Later that day the Australian Bureau of Meteorology’s weather radar picked up a huge serpent-shaped object in the form of a giant ‘S’ about 30 kilometres west of Rottnest Island, which lies offshore Western Australia’s capital, Perth, about 70 kilometres north of Mandurah. Many people watched the strange shape on the Bureau’s live radar feed where it was visible for an extended period as it moved northwest.
The object caused a flurry of speculation and confusion due to its immense size. At somewhere around 80 kilometres long, it dwarfed the 18 kilometre long, 4.5 kilometre wide Rottnest Island it was approaching, and earned itself the nickname “the Rottnest Monster”.

What could this massive oddity have been? Was it just a coincidence that a similarly sinuous UFO was sighted earlier that day?
An initial report by Australia’s ABC News fuelled intrigue after reporting the weather bureau had ruled out cloud or weather:
After checking the satellite, the bureau’s Neil Bennett ruled out the phenomenon being caused by cloud.
“There’s no cloud, there’s nothing to produce a rain echo, … which we do see a lot, but not this particular shape,” he said.
“They don’t take on S shapes and things like that.
As news spread in Australia and then around the world, rumours and speculation mounted on the internet.
The next day, Australia’s Department of Defence stepped in claiming a “routine activity” caused the 80-kilometre-long flying S-shape:
A spokesman for the Department of Defence said in a statement on Thursday that the exercise was a regular training activity involving ships and aircraft designed to prepare a Navy warship for an operational deployment.
“The environmental conditions over the West Australian coast at the time of the activity provided a unique opportunity for this routine activity to be visible on the weather radar display,” he said.
“This exercise is ongoing.”
Apparently, that was the end of the story. The ABC reported the mystery had been “solved” and so did a raft of mainstream media outlets. It seems they unanimously agreed their job was to unquestionably accept and republish official government statements as fact without further investigation or scrutiny.
So when the serpent shape reappeared on Thursday on the bureau’s radar, this time off Mandurah in a coil formation, it was barely reported.

But does the story really end there? Even if the official explanation is to be believed, the obvious question remains: How did the military do it? Could they even do it?
A report by the UK’s Daily Mail contains some further clues about the “80km-wide formation”:
Mr Gray [Western Australian Weather Group administrator] said people had seen navy activity in the area, but he did not believe this caused the formation. ‘The thing that got everybody was how long it lingered on the radar and moved in the wind,’ he said. ‘It was slow moving, it was slower moving than an aircraft dumping fuel but too fast for a helicopter. The innuendo going around is not based on science.’
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Rabi Rivett had said there was no explanation for the giant shape, but used a process of elimination to ruling out some causes.
‘It’s nothing meteorological. It’s not a cloud, radars don’t pick up clouds, that’s not what they’re for.’
He said military chaff had also been ruled out. ‘Sometimes military with the chaff can cause different formations, but the fact it maintained its shape as it moved north-west rules that out,’ he said.
‘If it was military-related they did a very good job of flying that signature in a very short period of time,’ he said. ‘It didn’t change shape as it moved – caught in the wind it would have changed.’
The comment from the Bureau’s meteorologist is important, because it apparently rules out the most obvious explanation – chaff. Chaff is a confetti-like material, usually aluminium, which military planes release to produce false readings on enemy radars.
But chaff would not maintain a precise shape while moving in the wind – it would disperse.
So could the shape have been formed by “ships and aircraft” moving in formation in a “routine” naval exercise, which was only visible due to unique “environmental conditions”, as the departmental statement suggests?
Not likely.
Why the Official Explanation is full of Holes
The first thing to note is that there was nothing particularly “unique” about the “environmental conditions” on 12 February. The weather reports of the day do not show anything exceptional. Furthermore, if this navy activity was “routine”, then it would be visible often, yet meteorologists had never seen anything like it.
Secondly, the Australian navy does not have any planes. It does have some helicopters, but its Air Fleet is based on the opposite side of the continent at the navy’s only air station.
The naval base near Perth, HMAS Stirling (Fleet Base West) is home to about a dozen vessels. Six of these vessels are submarines fraught with operational problems, of which an absolute maximum of four are ever deployable at one time, and sometimes only one. But operating underwater they would not show up on a weather radar anyway.
So that leaves about half a dozen frigates with the possibility of a few 80s-era 70b Seahawk helicopters which are soon to be replaced.
Although the statement only explicitly mentions the Navy, the Australian Air force also operates a training base near Perth. However Pearce Airbase has no operational fighting fleet. But it does have some BAE Hawks – a jet-trainer aircraft first developed 40 years ago – which are used to train novice pilots.
So even if we put aside the fact that the Defence Department statement only mentioned naval – not air force – exercises, and consider the possibility that the Air force’s trainer planes might have conducted a joint exercise with the Perth-based naval fleet, would they even be capable of producing this radar signature? Could they really combine into an immense, cohesive, continuous, unbroken ribbon formation long enough to span the English channel, form that ribbon into a giant S, and maintain that precise formation while moving together at matching speed?
It seems highly unlikely. Not only is it doubtful that such a disparate mix of vessels could move together at the same speed, but – even if they could – there are simply not enough military “ships and aircraft” in Western Australia to form a continuous unbroken S-shaped ribbon 80 kilometres long. The Navy has no major exercises scheduled off Western Australia in 2014 either, making it unlikely foreign vessels were involved.
Could the military have been testing some highly advanced secret technology? Given that the Australian defence force isn’t exactly using the most cutting-edge military hardware, this also seems unlikely. And if they really did possess some secret highly-advanced unknown technology, it’s doubtful they would test it directly in front of civilian radar which feeds live imagery to the internet 24/7.
The closer you look, the more the official story does not add up.
Was there a cover-up?
When it comes to UFOs being sighted or detected by large numbers of people, cover-ups are nothing new.
Even the most dramatic sightings are put down to ludicrous causes such as “flares” or even “swamp gas”, and the media is often willing to accept unsupported government explanations. Easy explanations provide a reassuring sense that life is nothing more than what it seems and there are no mysteries or greater realities to be found beyond the cocoon of consumer-oriented society constructed around us. Mainstream journalists, as the gatekeepers of the establishment who explain the world to the masses, have a stake in upholding the prevailing order. Accepting the possibility of intelligent life visiting our planet beyond the control or understanding of the powers that be just rocks the paradigm too much. Plus there have been concerted campaigns to ridicule or make light of UFO sightings over the years, making more open-minded journalists unwilling to risk their reputations by pursuing these issues.
So a familiar pattern plays out after these extraordinary events: a glib government statement is released, the media accept it without scrutiny, and even something as astonishing as an 80-kilometre-long flying serpent-shaped object is quickly dismissed and forgotten. After a bit of excitement, everyone goes back to the mundane daily grind, without thinking too much about what mysteries lie beyond, while journalists go back to status-quo reporting of the issues deemed relevant within the mould of the mass media construct.
But there is more going on in the universe than what we learn about in school or are told by the media. Keeping a lid on the UFO phenomenon goes hand in hand with keeping people as compliant consumers who don’t think too much about the bigger picture or awaken the potential of their consciousness.
Nevertheless, events like this continue and as they do more people are willing to challenge the prevailing attitudes of denial. Some believe that behind the UFO phenomenon are advanced civilisations wishing to inform the people of their presence. They are said to have a more highly developed level of consciousness than that of most people on this troubled world, and wish to help people here raise their own level of consciousness.
Whatever the case may be, it makes sense to actually examine and try to understand these extraordinary phenomenon and search for the truth, rather than search for an easy way to explain them away. If we allow these encounters to be swept under the rug, we will never really come to understand the mystery at the heart of them, and what significance they may hold for humanity.
UFO encounters will continue around the world, and governments and the mass media are unlikely to seriously acknowledge the possibility of alien contact any time soon. Those wishing to explore this phenomenon will have to go against the grain of a cosmically-censored civilization whose powerbrokers don’t want people venturing outside their box.
UFO CONFERENCE Pennsylvania leads the Nation in UFO Sightings
“UFO's. . . Seeing is Believing”. The Pennsylvania Mutual UFO Network will present its Third Annual UFO Conference on Saturday, May 16th, 2015, from 830 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center at 1 Sassafras Pier.
Pennsylvania has been the epicenter of the world's largest UFO wave since the summer of 2008. There have been over 300 UFO reports filed with MUFON each year. “We're getting clusters of sightings from every town from Erie to Pittsburgh to Philly,” MUFON Pennsylvania State Director John Ventre said. “I get reports of UFOs coming in from Lake Erie and across Wheeling, West Virginia; into the Pittsburgh area and they are seen minutes later on the eastern part of the state.”
The Conference will present expert UFO speakers including two of the most famous cases along with one cast member of History Channels “Hangar 1: The UFO Files” series.
Speakers include Don Schmitt an original Roswell investigator, Peter Robbins on Rendlesham Forrest, John Ventre, Bill Konkolesky and Tom Wertman of the Mutual UFO Network, and Phyllis Budinger who will review debris recovered recently from an actual UFO.
“The quality of speakers at this conference rivals the larger, pricier conferences that take place around the country,” Ventre said.

The Mutual UFO Network was founded in 1969 after the US Air Force concluded their 17-year Project Blue Book study of UFOs and concluded that UFOs are not a threat to National Security.
“They never said UFOs don't exist,” Ventre said. “There is overwhelming evidence that they do. I believe this is an aviation safety issue. The only reason there are not more collisions is because of their ability to maneuver, not ours.”
MUFON has 3000 members worldwide and over 900 certified investigators. The Pennsylvania MUFON branch has 169 members and 38 certified investigators. In het nieuwe controversiële boek The Presidents and UFOs wordt beweerd dat een aantal Amerikaanse presidenten op de hoogte zijn geweest van buitenaards bezoek op onze planeet.
“We hebben vastgesteld dat de mysterieuze vliegtuigen niet afkomstig zijn van de aarde en volgens geheime inlichtingenbronnen hoogstwaarschijnlijk een interplanetaire herkomst hebben,” schreef de stafchef van het Amerikaanse leger George C. Marshall in maart 1942 aan president Franklin D. Roosevelt.
President Roosevelt wilde kijken wat er gedaan kon worden met de kerngeheimen die men door het bestuderen van de ongeïdentificeerde objecten te weten was gekomen. In een andere memo schreef Roosevelt over het aanvaarden van de realiteit dat onze planeet niet de enige in het universum is waar intelligent leven is te vinden.
Geheime ontmoeting
De geheime memo’s zijn opgenomen in het controversiële boek van schrijver Larry Halcombe. “UFO’s bestaan en buitenaards leven heeft de aarde bezocht,” zei de 71-jarige Halcombe. “Er is zoveel bewijs dat hun bestaan niet langer kan worden ontkend.”
Alle presidenten sinds de oorlog hebben bewijs gezien voor het bestaan van buitenaards leven en moesten het geheimhouden om het volk geen angst aan te jagen, aldus het boek. President Eisenhower zou zelfs een ontmoeting hebben gehad met aliens. “Een aantal betrouwbare bronnen claimen dat hij in 1955 naar Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico is gevlogen om de aliens te ontmoeten.”
Grootste cover-up in de geschiedenis
“Er is al sinds de jaren zestig sprake van een cover-up op staatsniveau, ook om presidenten in het duister te houden,” zei Holcombe. “Het onderzoek naar buitenaardsen in de VS is in handen van een machtige en geheimzinnige commissie die aan niemand verantwoording hoeft af te leggen.”
Holcombe gelooft niet dat de VS of Groot-Brittannië binnenkort zullen toegeven dat aliens de aarde hebben bezocht. Mogelijk worden ze daar wel toe gedwongen als aliens hun aanwezigheid bekendmaken, aldus de auteur. Hij voegde toe dat er veel wetten zijn overtreden om dit geheim te bewaren. “Dit is de grootste cover-up in de geschiedenis van de mensheid.”

De Spaanse architect Miquel Pérez-Sánchez stelt dat de bouwers van de Piramide van Cheops al kennis hadden over de omvang van de aarde, zon en het getal pi. Pérez-Sánchez heeft de piramide digitaal nagebouwd.
De conclusies van de architect dwingen tot een grondige herziening van de huidige theorieën over evolutie en het intelligente leven op aarde, zo citeert de krant La Vanguardia Pérez-Sánchez tijdens een bijeenkomst van de Catalaanse vereniging van architecten.
De architect trof referenties aan naar de diameter van de aarde, diens afstand tot de zon en de afstand tot Sirius, de helderste ster aan onze nachtelijke hemel. Ook zijn er volgens hem verwijzingen te vinden naar de diameter van de zon, die geen twijfel meer laten over de kennis die de bouwers van de piramide bezaten.
Sfinx
Uit het onderzoek van Pérez-Sánchez blijkt bovendien dat de Egyptische architect en piramidebouwer Imhotep pi tot vier cijfers achter de komma had uitgerekend. Tot nu toe werd altijd aangenomen dat men in die tijd alleen de eerste twee cijfers achter de komma wist.
Pérez-Sánchez zei op de bijeenkomst dat de Sfinx van Gizeh voor zijn huidige vorm de kop van een leeuw had, die na een periode van erosie verder werd uitgehakt tot een mensenhoofd. Volgens hem is de Sfinx bovendien een stuk ouder dan algemeen wordt aangenomen.
Lasertechnieken
De kans dat terugkerende patronen en verhoudingen bij de bouw van de piramides op toeval berusten, is volgens de architect 1 op 32.000. Een aantal mysteries blijven nog onopgelost. Waarom gebruikten de Egyptenaren bijvoorbeeld blokken van 100, 200 of zelfs 400 ton om deze reusachtige bouwwerken neer te zetten?
En hoe verplaatsten ze deze granieten blokken? Hoe werden ze uitgesneden en ingepast met een precisie die tegenwoordig alleen geëvenaard kan worden met lasertechnieken?
Pérez-Sánchez heeft met steun van de Spaanse overheid een boek geschreven over zijn bevindingen, getiteld ‘La Gran Pirámide, clave secreta del pasado’. Op zijn website Antiguo Egipto XXI ontrafelt hij de mysteries van het Oude Egypte.

Naarmate de planeet Nibiru dichterbij komt is deze steeds beter op te merken aan de hemel.
Zo kan dat het op een ochtend vroeg een Amerikaanse tv-ploeg de planeet Nibiru per ongeluk filmde vanuit een helikopter.
Het gebeurde op 14 januari 2014, vroeg in de ochtend door het televisiestation KCRA uit Sacramento in Californië.
Tijdens de vroege ochtenduren steeg hun nieuwshelikopter op om zodoende live verslag te kunnen doen van onder andere de verkeersdrukte.
Tijdens deze vlucht merkt de cameraman een ongekend felle planeet op aan de hemel waar een stukje van ontbreekt alsof er een ander hemellichaam voor is geschoven.
Er worden uiteraard de nodige grappen over gemaakt, maar men vindt bij KCRA geen antwoord op de vraag welke planeet daar aan de hemel hangt.
Iemand die daar wel een antwoord op heeft gevonden is Marshall Masters. In de onderstaande video worden de opnames geanalyseerd en gezien eerdere waarnemingen van Nibiru lijkt er weinig misverstand over te bestaan dat we er hier inderdaad mee te maken hebben.
Zodanig dat Venus als het ware voor Nibiru langs kruipt.
Masters heeft KCRA een aantal vragen gesteld over de gemaakte opname, zoals welke lens door hen is gebruikt. Daar kwam een kort en bondig antwoord van een directeur op terug die zei dat hij niets met dit onderzoek te maken wilde hebben.
Dat hoeft ook niet want de beelden van die uitzending op die ochtend zijn uitgezonden en vastgelegd.

Denmark, Western Australia – 26/4/2015 I am a truck driver, I was driving along Denmark-mount barker rd at around 3:20am and I was searching for a radio station on the radio, it had found one but all of a sudden continued. I looked at the radio to see what was going on, then when I looked up I was just going past a street sign warning of kangaroos. Standing directly beside the sign I swear I seen something standing there with thin arm and legs, around 4 and a half foot tall with a rounded head, it had no hair or clothing and was grey all over. British Columbia, Canada – Saturday April 18 2015 I was just leaving the house to go get my daughter from work. My husband was outside with the dog. He was looking at the sky so I asked him what he was looking at and he mentioned that something strange just happened. He showed me this thing he was looking at which was now flying behind our house. I laughed and said it looks like a bird. He said it wasn’t a bird and showed me where it came which was close to a Mountain. He said it was extremely bright with lights and was traveling really fast. I got out and look for ufos quite often. It was about 3 or 8 pm. Had just got dark . I sat out in front of my house looking south. I was not there over five minutes and three white orbs was coming a me. It was like a triangle shape. I had gloves on and had to take them off to operated my camera . N. Coast Hwy 101 / Glaucus St. – 3am June 29 1977 Had just left a local 7-11 where a friend of mine worked named Ted. Two cops came in as I was leaving. Walking home along hwy 101, I was looking over my left shoulder at the progress of a hotel being framed in and how tall it was. Looking away, a like area caught the corner of my eye that at first I thought was a bird flying at night. Turning for a better look, it was a huge saucer going silently north only a few hundred feet above the houses along Neptune Ave which parallels the beach. As it was partially cloudy, the clouds then obscured it going north. I thought WOW! Did I really just see that? Then as it continued north passing through the cloud it re-emerged. “YEP! There it is again!” It looked like stainless steel with a curved underside. Appeared to have dark windows around its perimeter. There were ligths on it and my first impression was “That’s dumb to have lights on something like that if you don’t want to be seen”. I also had an overwhelming desire to BE ON IT! I ran to the nearest phone booth (we had them back then), called Ted and said “Are those cops still there?” Yes, Fred he said. “Put em on! I just saw a flying saucer!!” “I don’t think so, Fred” and hung up. Oh well, I had to tell someone.

Scotland – 1972 I am 69 years old. I witnessed a UFO over Holy Loch, Scotland in late September 1972. It was a pinkish shiny color, that moved without a con trail, then accelerated away at terrific speed. I almost drove into the river! There were several sightings reported, but no one claimed any aircraft, satelleite or weather balloons. I saw this in broad daylight in a cloudless blue sky and bright sunshine.
In 1962, shepherd Donald McKenzie discovered something mysterious on a remote Scottish hillside.
What he didn’t realise at the time was that he was witnessing what would become one of the biggest UFO mysteries in UK history.
He told police what he had seen, but they didn’t take him seriously and started questioning the quality of his whisky.
However, three months later a team from the RAF went along and what they discovered left people scratching their heads for over 50 years.
The team uncovered a box that was big enough to hold a man, and with a camera port, and a brass plate offering a reward if it was found. There were also bottles of a clear liquid strewn on the ground nearby.
But what was most mysterious was a lack of scorch marks, no sign of impact damage, and there was no parachute.
The whole episode was compared to the Roswell incident when a ‘flying saucer flap’ was discovered in New Mexico in 1947.
Finally that mystery has been solved thanks to some files uncovered at the National Archives in Kew.
Dr David Clarke will publish How UFOs Conquered the World later this month and he revealed that it may have been from a CIA spy programme called Moby Dick.
The structure would have been attached to a massive balloon and was designed to be carried across the planet at 60,000ft over Russia where it would take pictures of nuclear facilities.
The spy mission lasted until 1956 and the one found by Mr McKenzie is believed to have landed six years prior to its discovery.
Dr Clarke said: ‘The Pentagon had spent $68 million on the project and was determined to keep it a secret.’
A press release in one of the files, dated January 1956, even listed cover stories that would be given to the media if the balloons were shot down or captured.
‘It seemed highly likely that a similar story had been used at Roswell to protect Mogul.
‘The official line was that the devices were ‘part of an Air Force meteorological survey of the northern hemisphere’.’
Sheffield Hallam University academic Dr Clarke says the project was abandoned in 1956, when the CIA switched to manned reconnaissance flights using the U2 spy plane.

May 3, 2015 - Scientists exploring the Atlantic Ocean have discovered mysterious metallic nodules on the ocean floor that may provide telltale evidence of the Great Flood.
Last month, a German research team announced the discovery of dense clusters of manganese nodules on the ocean floor. Using a mesh net intended to scoop up marine life, the researchers accidentally brought up balls of manganese ore from over three miles below the water’s surface.
According to LiveScience, some of the round manganese nodules were as large as bowling balls. Underwater cameras revealed that the ocean floor was littered with the metallic nodules, many of which resemble pancakes. Though similar nodules have been discovered on many ocean floor locations, experts say this is the largest patch of manganese nodules ever found in the Atlantic.
Where did the ball formations come from? The researchers are not quite sure.
“I was surprised, because this is generally not the place you think of for manganese nodules,” said the German expedition’s chief scientist, Colin Devey.
According to secular models, underwater manganese nodules form very slowly, gradually adding new layers over millions of years. However, scientists admit that the origin of the balls remains a mystery.
Dr. Jake Hebert, a physicist with the Institute for Creation Research, believes the nodules did not form over millions of years. Rather, he says, the formations likely formed very quickly.
“These metallic pellets provide strong evidence that most seafloor sediments were deposited rapidly, not slowly and gradually over millions of years,” Hebert wrote in an article this month. “Are these nodules evidence of the Genesis Flood?”
Hebert points out apparent flaws in the methods secular scientists use to date the nodules.
“Secular scientists claim that nodules grow at the extremely slow rate of just a few millimeters per million years,” he explains. “Yet manganese nodules have consistently been observed growing in lakes and man-made reservoirs, as well as on debris fragments from World Wars I and II, at rates hundreds of thousands of times faster than these calculated rates. This is just one more indication that there are serious problems with radioisotope dating methods!”
Hebert argues that the scientific models of creation scientists provide better explanations for why the nodules form and where they are located.
“In the millennia after the Flood, sediment deposition would have eventually slowed to today’s ‘slow and gradual’ rates,” he writes. “Hence, nodules are found mainly in the uppermost sediment layers because these upper layers were deposited slowly enough to allow nodules to grow.”
When the Great Flood of the Bible is taken into account, Hebert adds, the nodules are no longer a mystery.
“Batches of manganese nodules are just one of many geological features that are difficult for secular scientists to explain, but they make sense in light of the Genesis Flood,” he asserts.
Kenneth Patrick, a Christian geologist, arrived at a similar conclusion in a December 2010 article for the Journal of Creation.
“According to paleontological and radiometric dating methods, the nodules are supposedly multi-millions of years old, the result of extremely slow growth rates of just millimeters per million years,” Patrick explained. “However, actual observations have revealed that nodules can grow in excess of 20 cm within hundreds of years, a growth rate several orders of magnitude faster.”
“In addition,” he continued, “nodules are found only at the top of the ocean floor, with the greatest density within the first 5 m of sediment and decreasing in size at greater depths. This contradicts the idea that ocean sediment accumulated gradually and continuously over millions of years. Rather it suggests a period of rapid sedimentation that has subsequently waned, a scenario that is consistent with the events of Noah’s Flood.”

May 3, 2015 - Enrico Fermi was a physicist who participated in the Manhattan Project that developed the atomic bomb in the United States in the mid-twentieth century. Despite the positive or negative aspect, depending how you look at things, the scientific discovery that led to this work, Fermi philosophized about it with a deep pessimism. During that time, the researcher introduced to what became known as the Fermi paradox. He wanted to show the contradictions between the generalized estimates that there is a huge probability that there are other intelligent civilizations somewhere in the universe and the total absence of evidence that these civilizations actually exist.
The search for extraterrestrial life is full of enigmas, and even though our technological advancements have allowed us to take a look “further” into space, astronomers still do not believe that we will manage to contact an extraterrestrial civilization in the near future.
Raul Jimenez is a professor of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics at The Institute of Cosmos Sciences of Barcelona and a research associate at Harvard University. He is the person best qualified for looking at numbers that will give us a better insight into the mysteries of outer space. He can also tell us a lot about where to look for extraterrestrial life. His latest work was based on the role of gamma ray bursts and lifeforms, a possibility on which several speculation were based, but which research, hasn’t been able to verify.
Jimenez explains that outbreaks of gamma rays are phenomena in which radiation is emitted with extremely high power loads, much greater than those generated by the explosion of supernovas, over 100 kiloelectron volts. To better understand this, he explains particles are waves of more than a million degrees Celsius.
For more than 40 years, scientists have sought to determine whether these astronomical phenomena, outbreaks of gamma rays had any effect on life on Earth and, by extension, on possible ways of life that may exist elsewhere the universe. They have come to an interesting conclusion.
According to their findings, when large amounts of radiation collide with the atmosphere, the life on our planet can have serious problems. When these particles crash with the ozone layer, they form large amounts o nitric oxide, for that an oxygen atom is used which breaks the ozone molecules. This is catastrophic for lifeforms as it destroys the shield that protects us from the most powerful solar radiation, causing the destruction of the DNA in cells of living organisms. This means mass extinction on Earth. Jimenez believes that some species might survive this catastrophe living deep beneath the surface.
According to Jimenez, 500 million years ago a phenomena like that occurred on Earth, lasting over a month. This caused the disappearance of 90% -95% of the ozone in the atmosphere. This catastrophe originated the mass extinction of the Ordovician-Silurian. During that time, almost all living organisms on Earth disappeared.
Jimenez estimates that Earth has been “hit” by five of these gamma-ray bursts.
This has let Jimenez to the conclusion that if we do decide to look for extraterrestrial life, we should start by looking at the periphery of the Milky Way.
Researchers can only speculate about what causes these catastrophic gamma-ray bursts. Even though they suggest that these outbreaks are part of a cosmic cycle, they still need huge amounts of observations to know what exactly causes them.
So, how do you look at history after this? Is it possible that Earth was inhabited much earlier that we had thought, that different species developed on earth which were eventually wiped out by one of these catastrophic bursts? It all depends on how you look at history and what you believe.
If anyone can answer why we only get to see 70 percent of quality of the original images I would love to hear it! I have always loved the MAHLI images when enhancing them and now I understand why. The 25 extra percent between 70 and 95 percent makes a major difference when you only have around 1000 X 1000 original pixels to work with! I would like to see all images that are labeled RAW IMAGES be an actual RAW IMAGE that has not had any of the quality cut in any shape or form. Chris Holly reports: I was talking with a friend of mine whom I have known since the third grade. We were talking about the changes that have taken place on Long Island New York over the last 50 years. We were discussing the days when we had only one highway to drive to the end of Long Island in order to reach Montauk Point. The Montauk Point area is also the location of Plum Island and Camp Hero. During the 1940’s until recently both were active extremely strange institutions of secret ominous activates with long lists of odd events happening for many years following World War II. Long Islanders considered them dangerous if not evil places.
My friend and I were talking about our life on Long Island when we were teens in the early 60s around 1963 to 65. Those years were a time when Long Island was having numerous UFO sightings being reported. My father had been told during that time period that a few people in our town had seen a group of UFOs a over a town golf course which was still being talked about by all the local people when a few sightings came along of people witnessing large UFO;s flying low over Great River which ran out in to the Great South Bay and on to the Atlantic Ocean.. All of these sightings were still the talk of the town when this next event took place. One night my Dad read aloud after dinner as the family still was sitting at the kitchen table from the Long Island Press (which was a favorite newspaper on Long Island at the time) an article describing how hundreds of Long Islanders traveling along the Sunrise Highway ( which was the only main highway that was used to travel to then end of Long Island in that time period) had called in to the local police reports of an enormous UFO traveling low over Sunrise Highway as it traveled out towards the end of Long Island towards the Atlantic Ocean. The people who witnessed this huge craft insisted it was at least a half a mile if not bigger in circumference. The people who saw this huge craft all reported the same details of a enormous oval craft slowly hovering over the highway at times as it made its way in silence following the highway below out to the end of the roadway frightening those who were traveling under it on the highway lanes. It followed the roadway to its end and continued on towards the end of Long Island and the Atlantic Ocean. There were no offerings of what it could have been in the article or comments other than the description of this huge metallic shinny windowless craft and the mention of many other UFO sightings being reported over Long Island during that time. I have often had that event flash through my mind over the years when I learned of other sightings of huge unexplained crafts being reported from all over the world. These huge crafts seemed to have taken on the name of Mother Ships. I thought about this and wondered if we have this correct in our thinking or if we simply are missing another explanation to the enormous size of these unknown crafts thinking they are something they are not. It is true that the enormous size of the crafts many have witnessed over the years may well be main carriers of large populations of other life forms and their equipment and living areas or there is one other strange idea that could explain there massive size. It may sound simplistic but why could the difference in size of UFO.s simply be an indication of the different sizes of the aliens traveling in them? How many times have we been told of history that talks to us about giants walking on the earth? How many times have the idea of extremely tall beings being seen over history have we come across in our search for answers to our past and understanding of our possible futures? I really thought about this when I came across the reported incident where our astronauts were reported to have had an encounter with a huge space man that was so large and tall that they had to open the cargo bay of the space shuttle so he could stand towering over our men in the open cargo bay in order to have a meeting with them. There is no reason at all to think that other life forms in this enormous universe are similar in size to the humans on earth. In fact there is no reason to think that they are like us at all in any way shape or form. I think we should consider that shape, size and form of those who may visit this planet may be anything from bug size to building size and all things in between. I now wonder in pure fascination what may pilot those enormous crafts and can only keep my mind open to the endless possibilities that could exist inside those metallic walls from huge populations of aliens to simply huge aliens!
