Nasa may have found the most Earth-like planet to date

Nasa may have just found the closest thing to an Earth-like planet in the Universe.

The US space agency is holding a press conference tomorrow, 23 July, to reveal the latest discoveries of its exoplanet-hunting Kepler Space Telescope. The scope, launched in 2009, seeks out planets that reside in the habitable zone, known colloquially as the Goldilocks zone. Planets in this location orbit their star at a safe enough distance to potentially host liquid water on their surface. The majority of the planets identified by Kepler have been giant gas planets, akin to Jupiter in our own Solar System, with only eight being less than twice Earth's size and in the Goldilocks zone. It's suspected that the Nasa announcement could confirm the identification of the most Earth-like planet to date.

"Exoplanets, especially small Earth-size worlds, belonged within the realm of science fiction just 21 years ago. Today, and thousands of discoveries later, astronomers are on the cusp of finding something people have dreamed about for thousands of years -- another Earth," a Nasa release teases, before confirming that Kepler's data analysis lead Jon Jenkins and Kepler research scientist Jeff Coughlin would be in attendance.

Kepler has already confirmed more than 1,000 exoplanets and 3,000 planet candidates using something called the transit method. The 0.95m-diameter telescope monitors the brightness of around 100,000 stars, looking for any dimming. That dimming occurs when a planet passes behind its star in orbit. Nasa compares that change in light to "the drop in brightness of a car's headlight when a fruitfly moves in front of  it" -- hence, very few have been found to date. If Kepler identifies one instance, that is then repeated at regular intervals, a planet is confirmed. Planet size and temperature is estimated based on the intervals between transits, which in turn lets us know what the chances are it's habitable. The Kepler research team has also worked with crowdsourcing initiative Zooniverse to build Planet Hunters, a platform that allows the public to look for changes in brightness themselves.

Earlier this year Kepler found another eight new planets in the Goldilocks zone, doubling the number of exoplanets found that have a diameter less that double Earth's. "We're now closer than we've ever been for finding a twin for Earth," astronomer Fergal Mullally of the Kepler Science Office said at the time.

The two most Earth-like planets in this new discovery were named Kepler-438b and Kepler-442b, but both were larger than Earth and orbiting red dwarf stars far cooler than our own Sun. Nevertheless, it was calculated that the planets had a 60-70 percent chance of being rocky like Earth. This is one of the key factors planetary scientists seek out since, more often than not, the Earth-like exoplanets Kepler identifies are gaseous. The planets were given a 70 and 97 percent chance of being in the habitable zone, respectively. But like the "Earth-like" planets before them, both receive far more or less light than our own planet -- 40 percent more and two-thirds less respectively.

The fact that Nasa is holding a press conference on the news, rather than it being released to the public via research papers as has often been the case in the past, suggests the mission may have discovered a candidate that even more closely resembles our own planet.

Retired Air Force Colonel Claims New Evidence Will Blow The Lid Off Rendlesham UFO Sighting

Officer says Air Force encountered  "some type of superior intelligence" that could "change size, change shape.

A retired Air Force colonel says he has new evidence to throw light on one of the most notorious UFO reports in history -- the 1980 sighting near the Bentwaters Royal Air Force Base in the UK. 

Col. Charles Halt has collected sworn statements from air traffic controllers, on duty in 1980 at Bentwaters. They tell him that they witnessed a UFO on radar performing incredible aerial maneuvers. And they were afraid of talking about this until they retired. 

On Dec. 27, 1980, unusual lights were seen by military personnel in the Rendlesham Forest, located between dual bases RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge. Several witnesses say they saw fast-moving objects in the sky, in addition to a reported landing of a triangular craft in a clearing.

When the encounters continued into a second night, Halt, deputy base commander at Bentwaters, leading a group into the forest, experienced part of the unexplained light show for himself, including an unknown object moving through trees and appearing to drip a molten substance (as depicted in the illustration at the top of this story).

In addition to a tape recording Halt made as the UFO sightings unfolded, he also filed the following report in which he describes a laser-like beam of light streaming from one UFO down to the ground where he and his men were standing:

Halt -- pictured below in 1981 -- told The Huffington Post that what he and the others experienced in the forest was under intelligent control.

"The military has nothing to do with it, other than the cover-up, but I can tell you, there is some type of superior intelligence that can change size, change shape, do funny things. What I saw, I'm firmly convinced, didn't have anything that we know or could relate to, inside it. Maybe they're not a being as we know, maybe they're an entity that just has intelligence, and we just can't relate to it.

Halt says he eventually obtained signed sworn statements, after many years, from air traffic controllers who were on duty during the 1980 Bentwaters events.

"They saw the object go across their scope -- a 60-mile scope -- in two or three seconds. Thousands of miles an hour," he told the BBC. "It came back across their scope again, stopped near the water tower. They observed it. They watched it go over into the forest where we were."

It was only after years passed and the air traffic controllers retired that they decided to tell Halt about what they saw on their radar scope in 1980. "They told me that they knew anytime an air traffic controller reported a UFO, they got de-certified. So they said nothing."

We previously reported how Halt accused the U.S. government of covering up UFO information, and he believes there's a top secret agency that's in charge of anything to do with possible extraterrestrial visits to Earth.

"There is a contract civilian agency, that is fed information, that is controlling everything. It's made up of either former military, high-level government agencies or high-ranking, very knowledgeable scientists. I can almost guarantee you. That's the way we do it. And disinformation is the biggest thing," Halt told HuffPost on Friday.

Halt is most disappointed with what he feels has been decades of inaccurate information spread about the Bentwaters incident. This includes the disappearance of key government files concerning the case. In 2011, the UK released thousands of previously classified UFO documents, but the ones pertaining to the Rendlesham Forest sightings mysteriously vanished.

"It doesn't surprise me at all, because they were probably taken from them by somebody, or sent somewhere by direction. Trust me -- that's the way it works," Halt said. "It's very disappointing on one hand, and it's also frightening. Who knows what else is going on?"

The following segment from a 2007 documentary, "Best Evidence: Top 10 UFO Sightings," includes a recreation (described by eyewitness Halt) of that eye-shaped glowing object moving through the trees of Rendlesham Forest in 1980 as it appears to drip some sort of molten material.

We asked Halt if a UFO cover-up policy could have been and still is a good decision.

"No, I think we need to know. I think the public can handle it. Let's face it: If a UFO lands tomorrow in Washington or wherever, you're still going to pay your mortgage and will still go to work. You'll still put gas in your car, unless something dramatic happens."

US Government Made A Treaty With Aliens For Otherworldly Technology  (Videos)

This theory, though severely criticized and ridiculed, might actually be true since numerous scientists and governmental official have come forward suggesting that there is more to alien life on Earth than previously believed.

The legendary Philip Schneider was a man who is believed to have come forward with highly classified information.

He was a geologist and structural engineer of the Government of the United States and was involved in the construction of deep underground military bases in the United States with the Army Corps of Engineers.

He was one of three people to survive the 1979 fire fight between the large Greys and U.S. intelligence and military forces at Dulce underground base.

At Dulce, Schneider maintained, “gray” humanoid extraterrestrials worked side by side with American technicians. In 1979, a misunderstanding arose.

In the ensuing shootout, 66 Secret Service, FBI and Black Berets were killed along with an unspecified number of “grays”.

Philip Schneider’s dad, Oscar Schneider was a medical adviser to the US Navy.

During the last two years of his life, Phil Schneider gave over 30 lectures to a variety of audiences around the world talking about highly classified information of the government involving alien technology, alien weapons, experiments and pacts between governments worldwide and aliens.

Many people remained skeptical about what Schneider had brought forward and much of his life was seriously questioned by people worldwide.

He was scorned by many, but there were many who believed that what Schneider was telling was the absolute truth, something that no one dared to talk about.

In an unexpected turn of events in 1996, Schneider was found dead in his apartment.

Authorities claimed it was a suicide, but many people believe that Schneider was killed because he had leaked extremely classified information to the public.

In 1954, former President Dwight Eisenhower, made a pact with three species of aliens, Schneider said at a conference in 1995.

In exchange for alien technology, Eisenhower allegedly gave permission for the aliens to abduct a limited number human beings to perform numerous experiments on Earth and in space.

Schneider had claimed that many of the thousands people who have gone missing around the world, may have been taken by aliens. He said there are nine races of aliens who see the human race as “a bag of food.”

According to Schneider, the technology that aliens gave us as part of this exchange includes a type of metal that is almost indestructible.

Schneider showed the audience what he said was a piece of this metal.

It is made of niobium, an element that we have in the periodic table, and Marinite, a strange element which is not found on Earth.

But there were other technological utilities that aliens gave to humans thanks to the pacts.

The government was able to develop a spy satellite with help of aliens that can detect a penny on the floor of your kitchen according to Schneider.

This spy-satellite uses some sort of infrared technology with a resolution factor of 99.99961.

But this pact was broken by the aliens since they have abducted way more aliens than agreed.

According to Schneider, since the pact was broken there have been high tensions among alien races and humans.

With the mounting evidence that the US government not only knew about alien beings, but entered an agreement with these beings for technology, one must wonder if there isn’t more than a little truth to this mystery.

Two Hikers Saw A Diamond Shaped UFO Hovering Over Calvine, Pitlochry? (Video)

The Channel 5 show tells how according to the UK UFO files, in August 1990 two hikers were walking in the Scottish Highlands, close to Calvine, north of Pitlochry when suddenly they saw something incredible.
  

A diamond shaped aircraft was hovering over the landscape before speeding off into the distance.

The two hikers took pictures of the craft and immediately contacted journalists from the Scottish Daily Record Newspaper and after viewing their photos, the journalists chose to share both pictures and negatives with the Ministry of Defense.

The UK UFO Desk files say that the images were then analysed by the best team in the business. At the time Nick Pope was a junior member of the UFO team.

Nick Pope explains “The Defense Intelligence staff sent these images to JARIC that’s the Joint Air Reconnaissance and Intelligence Centre. Now this is the UK’s military centre of expertise when it comes to imagery analysis. These Intelligence personnel come to the conclusion that these photographs are real – it’s a solid craft and no one has the faintest idea what it is.”

Witness report: It wasn’t some big event that I observed, more like an accidental picture of something really strange…

I was snapping pictures of the beautiful colors and textures created in the clouds by the sun setting. I take three pictures at a time for a quality check. I didn’t really notice what I caught until 20 minutes later when I showed my wife what great pictures I took.

Then we came across the picture I’m talking about, and we were baffled as to what it could be… I took two similar pictures before and the object was not there in the sky.

There were no birds around cause there aren’t any trees on this side of town, not really enough for much bird activity.

So I thought why not go ahead and upload my picture to MUFON, maybe they have an answer to what this strange appearance in the sky could be. Mufon case 68439. 

The witness accidentally photographed something supernatural, an interdimensional being or there is a logical explanation for this phenomenon?

These UFO were found by Myunhauzen74 of Youtube. I have been following his work for over three years and can vouch for the authenticity of his work. If you don’t know him you should. He check almost daily for UFOs on SOHO sources and as you can see from the close up screenshots I made, he catches UFOs a lot. 

About 6-7 years ago, Russian scientists announced that the found UFOs flying around our sun and that these UFOs would suddenly change direction and speed. Many of these UFOs were as big as our moon or bigger. Most of the info has been scrubbed from the Internet, but some of us…we will not forget and we will search for them always. SCW

Je gelooft je ogen niet: Amerikaanse overheid geeft document vrij met details over aliens, schepen en thuisplaneet

Steeds meer Amerikanen eisen dat hun overheid openheid van zaken geeft over vliegende schotels. John Podesta, tot voor kort topadviseur van president Obama, deed de afgelopen jaren tevergeefs pogingen om te achterhalen wat de VS weet over UFO’s.

“Mijn grootste mislukking van 2014,” twitterde Podesta op zijn laatste werkdag als beleidsadviseur van de president. “Wederom niet gelukt om de UFO-onderzoeken te openbaren.”

Het Witte Huis houdt vol dat het geen informatie over dit onderwerp heeft. Toch hebben de FBI, CIA en NSA verschillende geheime UFO-stukken vrijgegeven, wat erop wijst dat men erg geïnteresseerd is in dit fenomeen.

“Hooggeplaatste luchtmachtofficieren zijn achter de schermen bezorgd over UFO’s. Maar door geheimhouding en spot denken veel mensen dat onbekende vliegende objecten onzin zijn,” aldus oud-directeur van de CIA Roscoe Hillenkoetter in 1960.

In het FBI-archief The Vault is een buitengewoon interessant document te vinden. Het document, dat hier (pagina’s 21 en 22) kan worden gevonden, is gericht aan ‘bepaalde vooraanstaande wetenschappers, militaire autoriteiten en een aantal ambtenaren’.

Het gaat om een brief over buitenaardsen en UFO’s die naar de directeur van de FBI in Washington is gestuurd: “Luitenant-kolonel [zwart gemaakt] van G2 (militaire inlichtingen) in San Francisco liet vandaag weten dat hij geen verdere informatie heeft en dat ons kantoor in Seattle beschikt over alle informatie die bij hem bekend is en de zaak verder afhandelt in Tacoma, Washington.”

Het document bevat een kopie van een brief die is geschreven door ‘een voormalig decaan’ met verschillende ‘universitaire diploma’s’.

In de brief staat onder meer dat:

• Een deel van de schijven bemand is, terwijl andere op afstand worden bestuurd
• Ze in vrede komen en overwegen zich op deze planeet te vestigen
• De bezoekers lijken op mensen, maar veel langer zijn
• Ze van een andere wereld komen
• De schijven een bepaald soort energie uitzenden
• Ze niet van een ‘planeet’ komen, maar een etherische planeet die de aarde overlapt en voor ons niet zichtbaar is
• De lichamen van de bezoekers en schepen automatisch materialiseren als ze zich aanpassen aan het trillingsgetal van ons dichte materie
• Ze wanneer ze maar willen kunnen terugkeren naar de etherische wereld en zonder spoor in het niets verdwijnen
• Ze niet uit de astrale sfeer afkomstig zijn, maar de Lakas of Talas (mensen die bekend zijn met esoterische zaken zullen dit begrijpen)

Dit is slechts één van de vele documenten die zijn vrijgegeven over dit onderwerp. Waarom zijn overheidsagentschappen de afgelopen decennia zo geïnteresseerd geweest in dit fenomeen? Wat weten ze nog meer? Gaat het hier om meer dan één ras? Zijn ze fysiek of extradimensionaal? Hebben de agentschappen dit verder onderzocht?

Dr. Edgar Mitchell, de zesde man op de maan, zei ooit: “Ja, er zijn schepen neergestort en lichamen geborgen. We zijn niet alleen in het universum, ze bezoeken de aarde al een lange tijd.”

En voormalig NASA-astronaut en professor aan Princeton dr. Brian O’Leary zei: “Er is genoeg bewijs dat we worden bezocht, dat beschavingen ons al heel lang in de gaten houden.”

VIDEO: Werd Amerika ooit bevolkt door reuzen? Wel volgens twee broers

In de Bijbel lezen we: “In die tijd en ook daarna nog, zolang de zonen van de goden gemeenschap hadden met de dochters van de mensen en kinderen bij hen kregen, leefden de giganten op aarde. Dat zijn de befaamde helden uit het verre verleden.” – Genesis 6:4

In het programma Search for the Lost Giants van History Channel gaan de broers Jim en Bill Vieira op zoek naar de waarheid. Het tweetal doet al jarenlang intensief onderzoek naar reuzen. Zijn verhalen over reuzen waar? Is er enig bewijs in de vorm van botten, die erop wijzen dat reuzen ooit op aarde leefden?

Als we het hebben over reuzen, bedoelen we mensen die zo tussen de twee en drie meter lang zijn. In de jaren 1800 werden grote botten gevonden in graven in Tennessee. De skeletten waren gemiddeld 2,1 meter lang. In 1833 vonden soldaten naar verluidt een 3,6 meter lang skelet in Californië.

In 1879 werd een bijna drie meter lang skelet opgegraven in Indiana. En in 1912 werd gemeld dat er 18 reuzenskeletten waren gevonden in grafheuvels in Wisconsin.

In 2011 meldde de Russische krant Pravda.ru dat een team antropologen op 40 graven in Centraal-Afrika was gestuit die 200 lichamen van 2,1 meter lange individuen bevatten. Volgens de Pravda geloofden de onderzoekers dat deze ‘wezens’ uit de ruimte waren gekomen en waren gestorven aan een aards virus waar ze niet tegen bestand waren.

Jim Vieira wijst op de Town History of Deerfield, Massachusetts uit 1895, waarin melding wordt gemaakt van een 2,4 meter lang skelet met dubbele rijen tanden. Hij besloot daarop de geschiedenis van allerlei Amerikaanse stadjes en county’s uit te pluizen en stuitte op veel meer van dit soort verhalen over reuzenskeletten met dubbele rijen tanden.

De broers verwijzen naar rapporten van het Smithsonian uit de jaren 1800 waarin reuzen met meerdere rijen tanden worden beschreven. Omdat fysiek bewijs ontbreekt is er volgens sommigen sprake van een grote cover-up.

Jim denkt dat hij op den duur erkenning zal krijgen voor zijn onderzoek. “Er is zo veel interessante informatie. Er zijn petrogliefen van wezens met zes vingers en tenen, reusachtige bijlen, legendes en de informatie komt uit zo veel verschillende hoeken,” zei hij. “Door de geschiedenis heen wordt vaak gesproken over contact met reuzen.”

De  aarde wordt overspoeld door buitenaardsen ( Video )

De buitenaardse aanwezigheid op aarde schijnt van tijd tot tijd te veranderen. Dit wordt duidelijk doordat de waarnemingen nu volkomen anders zijn dan veertig tot vijftig jaar geleden.

Waar men vijftig jaar geleden veelvuldig de zogenaamde retro UFO waarnam, zo is dat tegenwoordig veelal de ronde vorm, al dan niet alleen of verborgen in wolken.


In de periode net na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd de naam Flying Saucer geïntroduceerd, eigenlijk per ongeluk. In 1947 werd door piloot Kenneth Arnold een aantal onbekende objecten waargenomen in de lucht.

Toen hij vervolgens de manier waarop deze zich door de lucht bewogen, beschreef aan een journalist gebruikte hij de uitdrukking Flying Saucer, vliegende schotel. Sinds die tijd zitten we opgescheept met dat woord voor alles wat er aan vreemde objecten door de lucht vliegt.

De objecten die men in die tijd veelvuldig waarnamen zagen eruit zoals wat wij nu een retro UFO noemen, de eigenlijk klassieke vorm van een “vliegende schotel”.

Zoals te zien op de volgende foto, genomen door de Zwitser Billy Meier, over wie op deze site een serie artikelen is te lezen.

Wat we vandaag de dag in het algemeen waarnemen, is heel anders. Een mooi voorbeeld daarvan is te zien in de volgende video die enkele dagen geleden in Ierland is gemaakt.

Zoals we lazen op een buitenlandse ufo site:

“Similar sightings are being seen all across the world – in fact, we would go so far as to say that sightings of this type, depicting whiteish orbs, are among the most common that we’re seeing at the moment”.

We zien exact dezelfde UFO’s verschijnen bij het ISS ruimtestation, zoals vorige week.

Ze schieten in en uit wolken en soms zelfs schijnen ze er onderdeel van te vormen zoals twee weken geleden in New York.

Daarnaast zien we overal ter wereld dat mensen wolken waarnemen zoals ze ze nog nooit hebben gezien.

Duizenden, honderdduizenden en ondertussen waarschijnlijk miljoenen mensen wereldwijd nemen dit waar, zien dit met eigen ogen en maken er opnames van.

Waar de laatste tijd de kleur overwegend wit schijnt te zijn, waren ze de afgelopen jaren veelvuldig te zien als oranje bollen. 

En toch, in mainstream-land doet iedereen net alsof ze volkomen gek zijn en alsof het eenvoudigweg niet bestaat.

Wordt het niet hoog tijd dat dit soort berichten nu eens echt massaal worden gedeeld door de massa, waardoor overheiden worden verplicht op z'n minst te erkennen dat dit fenomeen bestaat.

Doen alsof we gek zijn terwijl de luchten boven onze hoofden letterlijk krioelen van intelligent (buitenaards) leven is totale waanzin.

It applies to any object spotted in the sky that is not readily recognized by the observer. It can even apply to unusual weather conditions phenomena and the military plane not commonly seen by the public. However, when the phrase UFO is being used, the talk turns to aliens and spacecraft. But is the Manitoba strange sighting an exception to this case?

One researcher from Winnipeg has gathered data throughout the years and was able to determine strange flying objects. According to the investigator, he spotted more than 2,000 sightings hovering in the sky over Manitoba in the last two hundred years. Since 1980, Chris Rutkowski has been researching reports across Canada and handles preparing the yearly Canadian extraterrestrial Survey for the 25 years. While many reports are explainable as planes, satellites, and stars, it does not mean that Manitoba is being invaded, but it says that such place share in the global phenomenon. The sightings range from bizarre lights hovering through the skies and abduction reports. According to him, approximately 17.5% of the spotted objects are classified as “unexplained”. To be specific, 2,023 is the total number of reports, and the 767 figure comes from Winnipeg.

Rutkowski said he hoped his Manitoba-specific details will urge researchers to do the same in other vicinities in Canada. Whatever the case, it is apparent that every year more and more sightings are being reported and not just by regular Joes like you and me. They are being reported by pilots, a policeman, and government workers.

Daytime UFO over Jakarta, Indonesia 17-Jul-2015

Here’s one interesting daytime video of an unidentified flying object hovering in the sky above North Jakarta in Indonesia. This was taken on 17th July 2015.

Witness report: Orb-like metallic object observed in clear sky over North Jakarta, Indonesia and changed direction without accelerating/decelerating
Date was Friday 17th of July 2015. Time was approximately 5.42pm local time. Was playing with wife and toddler son in a basketball field near our house in North Jakarta, Indonesia. First noticed the object when pointing out the hunting bats and swallows to my son. It was on my south and moving towards the north west direction. First impression of the object was that it was somewhat spherical and moving at a constant speed and constant altitude. Altitude was from the best of my judgement around the 300-500m high, and moving slowly and constantly throughout the event at about 50m/minute.
As it drew nearer to my location, the shape looked more like a slightly vertically squashed sphere, akin to a red blood cell. It had a metallic sheen because it clearly reflected the orange glow of the setting sun. Upon longer inspection, the shape seemed to constantly slightly distorting and bobbling because the reflected sunlight was not consistent, although the object largely hold its original shape. Judging from the distance and altitude, my best guess is the object is at least 5m in diameter.
After about a minute after noticing the object, I used my iPhone 5s to video the object as best as I can (attached to report), although limited phone memory cut short the duration of the video. After finished recording, the object started to slowly make a very wide arc to the left, without changing speed or altitude, and changed direction southwesterly, which means moving away from my location. I then started to walk/jog and chased the object for about 1-2 minutes over 150 meters, then ceased because I didnt want to leave my wife and son behind in the basketball field. The object then slowly moved away and disappeared over the treeline after a couple more minutes.
What drew me to the object in the first place was that I never saw anything like it before. During the sighting and afterwards, considering the things I saw my impression largely is that the object is probably man-made, maybe a stray weather balloon that drifted with the wind. The few things bugging me is the shape of the object which is like a red blood cell, the definite metallic sheen of the surface, and the changing of the direction of the object, albeit slowly. Video is also not very supportive because of the maximum zoom, large distance to the object and me constantly moving around.
Would really like to have somebody from MUFON to contact via phone or email to exchange ideas on this.

Beaucoup de chercheurs, et même des témoignages, affirment qu'au moins une faction secrète d'un service gouvernemental américain tout aussi secret possèderait et utiliserait des technologies héritées de récupérations ou échanges avec une ou des races extra-terrestres. Les exemples ne manquent pas sur la toile mais voici un petit élément supplémentaire sur cette théorie plausible :

Une  intéressante vidéo (malheureusement uniquement en VO) explique (un peu autoritairement) une bonne partie des observations d'OVNIs mystérieux à travers le monde pour les 60 dernières années et en attribue la plus grande partie aux gouvernements secrets. Mais la porte est largement laissée ouverte a ce que la quantité du phénomène peut encore être attribuée à de la technologie extra-terrestre.

La vidéo produite par l'auteur Brett Kitchens compile en seulement 10 minutes l'historique exhaustif et liste les informations précédemment déclassifiées, et ce que l'auteur constate, c'est l'histoire classée telle qu'elle se déroule aujourd'hui par "ceux d'entre nous qui sont dans la connaissance". 

En regrettant un peu le manque éducatif, les faits présentés sont clairs et de forme concise. Il s'avère pour l'auteur que les "croyants" et les "non-croyants" ont partiellement raison. Ce qui est un peu déroutant.

Est-ce que les observations d'OVNIs inexpliquées sont le résultat de l'ingénierie humaine et de la science de pointe ? Ou des extra-terrestres ont effectivement visité la Terre et ont révélé leurs secrets, intentionnellement ou non ?

Présenté avec quelques diaporama de photos diverses et un impressionnant jargon technique (la partie sur les cristaux est un peu dense) ne touche pas loin de l'essentiel : le monde ne sait tout simplement pas l'histoire complète. Voilà.

Quel que soit son point de vue sur ce débat n'a pas vraiment d'importance. Cette érudition est l'occasion pour tout le monde d'apprendre et avec beaucoup de nouvelles informations dans le but de promouvoir la discussion. Qu'en pensez-vous ?

The Atacama desert Alien; What does science say?

In 2003, in the Atacama desert in the vicinity of an abandoned town called La Noria in Chile, Oscar Muñoz found the remains of what is considered to be the most bizarre humanoid on Earth. The tiny body measures only 15 centimeters and has a number of unique features that have since, puzzled the scientific community.

Muñoz sold the strange creäture to a bar owner who purchased it for 50$.

It is believed to be very old, but the rigorous dating showed that had lived and died somewhere within the last hundred years.

The most striking feature of Ata is, other than the size, the skull. It looks pretty human, but the long and disproportionate features has influenced ufologists and other researchers who have proposed, since its discovery, numbers theories suggesting that this creäture is of extraterrestrial origin.

Scientists rushed with theories trying to give rational explanations for the mysterious creäture. The first theory assumed that due to its size, Ata was a premature human fetus. Some anthropologists said it could also be the body of a young man suffering from an extreme case of progeria. Another theory is that Ata had a severe case of dwarfism.

These issues were set aside after an extensive analysis was carried out by leading scientists from Stanford University. After six months of study of the skeletal remains, they concluded that the Atacama Humanoid remains a profound mystery. But researchers wanted to find out more about this mysterious creäture. In order to test whether this creäture was of human origin, genetic analysis were conducted. Taking DNA samples from the ribs, researchers found put that Ata was "human" after all. According to researchers, mitochondrial DNA revealed that his mother was originally from South America. However, they found none of the genetic markers that indicate dwarfism, progeria, or oxycephaly. In other words, they found no answer to the extremely small size and elongated skull. Regardless of sex, race or size, humans have twelve pairs of ribs while Ata had only ten. Researchers have not found any human skeleton with only ten ribs. The skull vault is proportionally higher than that of normal humans. His bones are well-developed and even has fully developed teeth in the jaw, which eliminates the possibility that Ata is a deformed human fetus.

Researchers that conducted testing unanimously agreed that they could not give definitive answers to the questions posed by this small humanoid being. Adding to the mystery, or better said trying to explaining it,the locals say they have seen strange lights in the sky, UFOs and creatures that fit the description of little Ata. Unconfirmed reports speak of similar humanoids which remain alive and are studied in undisclosed locations.

Even though researchers were able to show a human connection to Ata, that does not rule out the possibility that he is an alien. There is also a discrepancy between the genetic material and appearance. The smallest human being ever recorded and confirmed is Chandra Bahadur Dangi having 54.64 centimeters high, which is still three times higher than Ata.

So many scientific details, yet so little information. Was Ata truly an otherworldly visitor? Is the mysterious shape of the skull evidence of extraterrestrial origin? Mainstream scientists are opposed to the idea of extraterrestrial life, especially existing on Earth, but maybe one day, we will truly understand what creatures like Ata really are, their origin, purpose and meaning. Perhaps, after all, we are not alone on Earth and in the Universe.

The hunt for ET will boost Australian astronomy

                   

It's already an exciting time for Australia in the field of astronomy and space science. But we've just received an astronomical boost with the announcement of CSIRO's role with the Breakthrough Prize Foundation's (BPF) US$100 million dollar search for extraterrestrial intelligence, called Breakthrough Listen.

CSIRO has signed a multi-million dollar agreement to use its 64 metre Parkes radio telescope in the quest to search for intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.

Breakthrough Listen will be allocated a quarter of the science time available on the Parkes telescope from October 2016 for a period five years, on a full cost recovery basis.

The Parkes observations will be part of a larger set of initiatives to search for life in the universe. The ET hunters will also use time on the Green Bank telescope in West Virginia, operated by the US National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and a telescope at the University of California's Lick Observatory.

Why Parkes?

CSIRO has the only capability for radio astronomy in the southern hemisphere that can deliver the scientific goals for the new initiative. The Parkes Radio Telescope is essential for the scientific integrity of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).

It is ideally situated for a search such as this. The most interesting and richest parts of our own galaxy, the Milky Way, pass directly overhead. If we are going to detect intelligent life elsewhere, it is most likely going to be found in that part of the galaxy towards the centre of the Milky Way.

The Parkes Radio Telescope is also one of the world's premier big dishes and has outstanding ability to detect weak signals that a search like this requires.

It has always been at the forefront of discovery, from receiving video footage of the first Moon walk on 20 July 1969 (which was dramatised in the movie The Dish), to tracking NASA's Curiosity rover during its descent onto Mars in 2012, to now once again searching for intelligent life.

It has also played a leading role in the detection and study of pulsars, small dense stars that can spin hundreds of times a second, the recent discovery of enigmatic (but boringly named) fast radio bursts, or FRBs, and in the search for gravitational waves.

Parkes also played a leading role in previous SETI searches. In 1995 the California-based SETI Institute used the telescope for six months for its Project Phoenix search. The Parkes telescope provided the critical capability to search the southern sky that could not be accessed using telescopes in the northern hemisphere.

The latest initiative is being led by a number of the world's most eminent astrophysicists and astronomers. Professor Matthew Bailes, ARC Laureate Fellow at the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, will be the Australian lead of the SETI observing team using the Parkes telescope.

Knock-on benefits

The program will nicely complement the existing scientific uses of the Parkes telescope. Although it will take up a quarter of Parkes time, it will benefit the research undertaken during the other three-quarters of the time the telescope is in operation.

                   

It will enable even greater scientific capability to be provided to a wide range of astronomy research through both the financial support and through the provision of new data processing and analysis systems and techniques.

Incredible advances in computing technology make it possible for this new search to scan much greater swaths of the radio spectrum than has ever before been explored. Rather than trying to guess where on the radio dial astronomers might receive a signal, they can now search an entire region of the radio spectrum in a single observation.

The dramatic increase in data processing capability has also meant that astronomers can analyse telescope data in new ways, searching for many different types of artificial signals.

CSIRO is thrilled to be part of this global initiative which takes advantage of the significant advances that have been made in computation and signal processing since the search for extraterrestrial life began.

The probability of detecting intelligent life is small but it is much greater today than ever before. To be the first to discover intelligent life would be a phenomenal achievement not only for the scientific community but for all humankind.

Archaeologists Unearth Trove of 2,000 Mysterious Gold Spirals in Denmark (Video)

A team of archaeologists working in Boeslunde, Denmark recently stumbled onto an intriguing mystery: nearly 2,000 tightly-wound golden spirals dating back to the Bronze Age. The discovery of gold in Boeslunde isn’t uncommon, as numerous gold objects have been unearthed in the region over the last few years. But the purpose of these coils has stumped archaeologists who refer to the find as the “golden enigma.

The spirals are made from extremely pure gold that was hammered flat to just 0.1 millimeter thick. Some pieces measure up to 1.18 inches long and all together weigh between 200 to 300 grams (7-10 ounces). Their exact purpose is anyone’s guess, but Flemming Kaul, a curator with the National Museum of Denmark, believes the coils are most likely related to prehistoric Bronze Age people who were known to offer gold to higher powers as part of sun rituals.
 

“The sun was one of the most sacred symbols in the Bronze Age and gold had a special magic,” Kaul writes. “Maybe the priest-king wore a gold ring on his wrist, and gold spirals on his cloak and his hat, where they during ritual sun ceremonies shone like the sun.” It’s also suggested the gold was simply buried as part of an elaborate sacrifice.
 

Whatever the use or meaning behind the pieces, it’s an extraordinary and priceless find. The local museum in
