Snowden Explains Why We Miss Aliens’ Messages: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Edward Snowden has recently said that encryption is probably the only thing stopping us from talking to aliens. He joined Neil deGrasse Tyson’s StarTalk podcast on Friday and revealed that he thinks aliens might be sending out signals right now, but they’d be impossible to detect. This isn’t the first time Snowden or files that he’s leaked have addressed issues surrounding extraterrestrial life.
Here’s what you need to know.
1. There’s Only a Small Window in Technological Development When We’d Be Able to Decipher Alien Signals

According to Snowden, there’s only a small period of time when technology is open enough that we’d actually be able to interpret the alien signals, The Week reported. This is during the small window when society sends messages by the most primitive, unprotected means that don’t require decryption. After this window passes, messages are indecipherable.
2. Snowden Said That For the Most Part, We’d Never Recognize Alien Signals Because of Encryption
Once a society reaches the phase where it starts protecting and encrypting its messages, then messages sent out into space would be indistinguishable from microwave background radiation, Snowden continued. That’s because the alien equivalent of television shows, for example, would be encrypted by default and thus appear completely random, The Guardian reported. He said:
So when we think about everything that we’re hearing through our satellites or everything that they’re hearing from our civilization (if there are indeed aliens out there), all of their communications are encrypted by default…
Does this mean that a society couldn’t choose to send out a broadcast that was purposefully not encrypted?
3. Iran Claimed Leaked Snowden Documents Showed the U.S. Was Run By Aliens

This isn’t the first time that Snowden has been connected with questions about alien communications, sometimes to an almost comic effect. Last year, Iran’s semi-official news agency, FARS, claimed that it had obtained leaked Snowden documents that revealed the United States government was run by “tall white aliens,” The National Journal reported. The report was almost taken word-for-word from a conspiracy blog. Snowden himself said that he didn’t bring any secret documents to Russia, which is where the Iran agency claimed it obtained the information. The report was heavy on the science fiction, with claims that an Iranian had built a time machine and that 80 species of aliens were on Earth, getting ready to wage interplanetary war.

There was at least one authenticated leaked Snowden document that actually did relate to aliens, Yahoo reported. Slides of mysterious flying saucers were seen among the documetns leaked by the NSA whistleblower. But these were connected to a series of reports detailing how the United States government might discredit someone by connecting them to alien sightings or might distract from a secret aircraft project by releasing faked photos of UFOs.
5. Researchers Are Also Looking Into a Series of Strange Radio Signals As Possible Communication

Although Snowden believes that deciphering alien signals is impossibly difficult, others don’t agree. New Scientist reported that scientists working with the Parkes telescope in Australia are studying a series of fast-radio bursts since 2001. The sounds come from far outside the galaxy, from something relatively small, and don’t fit cosmic physics patterns, leading some to believe they may alien communications and not natural. All the bursts are multiples of a single number, 187.5. If the patterns continue to hold, they could indicate either a new physics, such as a new type of pulsar, or an alien beacon of some sort.

Angst, paranoia en indirect bewijs vormen de ingrediënten voor een goede complottheorie. Bij de term ‘complottheorie’ denken veel mensen aan aluminium hoedjes en bunkers die gevuld zijn met ingeblikt voedsel. Om die reden worden aanhangers van complottheorieën niet altijd even serieus genomen.
Vaak blijkt achteraf dat er wel degelijk bewijs is voor complottheorieën. In die gevallen kan de waarheid soms nog vreemder zijn dan de wildste theorie.
Drooglegging
In de jaren twintig wilde de Amerikaanse overheid de productie en verkoop van alcohol geheel verbieden en het alcoholgebruik uit de Verenigde Staten bannen. Vanaf 17 januari 1920 was alcohol verboden. Gewone Amerikanen veranderden van de ene op de andere dag in criminelen, want er werd stiekem massaal gedronken. Criminelen verdienden goed geld aan de handel in illegaal gestookte drank, de bekendste onder hen is Al Capone.
Operatie Mockingbird
Halverwege de jaren vijftig huurde de CIA in het geheim journalisten van de New York Times, CBS en andere grote media in om Amerikaanse propaganda te verspreiden. De nieuwsmedia bleven op zijn minst nog tot 1976 door de CIA aangeleverde propaganda verspreiden, toen het programma om de publieke opinie te beïnvloeden aan het licht kwam tijdens een onderzoek.
Operatie Northwoods
In 1962 kwam de Amerikaanse overheid met een officieel plan om terroristische aanslagen onder valse vlag uit te voeren. Het plan voorzag in het doden van onschuldige mensen en het plegen van aanslagen in Amerikaanse steden door de CIA of andere overheidsdiensten om steun te vergaren voor een oorlog tegen het door Fidel Castro geleide Cuba. De plannen hadden onder meer betrekking op het kapen van vliegtuigen, bomaanslagen en het gebruiken van vals bewijsmateriaal.
MK-ULTRA
In de jaren vijftig en zestig kwam dit geheime experiment van de CIA verschillende keren aan het licht. Er zijn bewijzen gevonden dat de CIA verschillende methodes testte om hersenfuncties en gemoedstoestanden te manipuleren. Het onderzoek naar MK-ULTRA werd belemmerd omdat CIA-directeur Richard Helms in 1973 alle documenten over het experiment liet vernietigen. Volgens ex-CIA-agent Victor Marchetti is de inlichtingendienst nooit gestopt met MK-ULTRA.
COINTELPRO
Vanaf 1956 voerde de FBI een aantal geheime projecten uit om burger- en vredesbewegingen te infiltreren, verstoren en te monitoren. Dat deed zij door middel van psychologische oorlogvoering en door mensen in de media in diskrediet te brengen, te intimideren of te doden. Activisten wisten een kantoor van de FBI binnen te dringen en de hand te leggen op topgeheime documenten. FBI-directeur J. Edgar Hoover zag de bewegingen als een bedreiging voor de nationale veiligheid en eiste dat de documenten zouden worden teruggebracht.
Tonkin-incident
Op 2 augustus 1964 werd de Amerikaanse torpedojager USS Maddox in de Golf van Tonkin aangevallen door Vietnamese patrouilleboten. Twee dagen later zou het schip opnieuw zijn aangevallen. Als vergelding bombardeerde de Amerikaanse luchtmacht Noord-Vietnam. In de daarop volgende Vietnamoorlog stierven 58.000 Amerikaanse soldaten en raakten nog eens 300.000 gewond. In 2005 werd bekend dat de tweede aanval hoogstwaarschijnlijk nooit heeft plaatsgevonden.
Watergate
In de jaren zeventig bleek dat er ongeoorloofde methodes waren gebruikt tijdens de campagne voor de Amerikaanse presidentsverkiezingen van 1972. Het schandaal leidde in 1974 uiteindelijk tot het aftreden van president Richard Nixon.
Iran-Contra-affaire
In de jaren tachtig zag president Ronald Reagan dat de Contra’s uit Nicaragua het lastig hadden tegen de communistische Sandinisten. Hij had ook nog een probleem in een ander deel van de wereld. Iran had wapens nodig om oorlog te kunnen voeren met Irak en vroeg de VS ondanks een wapenembargo om steun. De VS sloeg twee vliegen in één klap: het land leverde in het geheim wapens aan Iran via Israël en met het geld werden de Contra’s in Nicaragua gefinancierd. In 1986 ontmaskerde een Libanese krant het hele project. Hoewel Reagan en vicepresident George H.W. Bush nooit zijn gelinkt aan de Iran-Contra-affaire, werden 14 overheidsmedewerkers aangeklaagd. Geen van hen belandde in de gevangenis.
NSA
Op 12 maart 2013 verscheen directeur van National Intelligence James Clapper voor de Amerikaanse inlichtingencommissie. Senator Ron Wyden vroeg hem of de NSA gegevens verzamelt van miljoenen Amerikanen. Clapper antwoordde ontkennend. Drie maanden later bleek uit documenten van computeranalist Edward Snowden dat de NSA het Amerikaanse volk op grote schaal bespioneert.

Iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in het UFO fenomeen is eigenlijk wel benieuwd naar wat een NSA insider en klokkenluider als Edward Snowden over dit onderwerp heeft te zeggen.
Gelooft hij dat er buitenaards leven bestaat en zoja, weet hij misschien dingen die wij niet weten?
De beroemde NSA klokkenluider bevindt zich nog steeds in ballingschap in Rusland en zo af en toe komt er weer wat nieuws van hem.
Zoals wat zijn gedachten zijn over buitenaards leven. Snowden is er duidelijk van overtuigd dat er wel degelijk buitenaards leven bestaat, maar dat wij wellicht hun communicatie niet begrijpen.
Edward Snowden denkt dat buitenaardsen met ons communiceren door gebruik te maken van encryptie. Versleutelde berichten die normaal gesproken worden gebruikt door partijen die niet willen dat anderen het bericht kunnen lezen.
Hij zegt onder andere het volgende, “Als er een buitenaardse beschaving is die probeert berichten van een andere beschaving op te vangen dan is er slechts een korte periode in de ontwikkeling van hun maatschappij waarbij ze berichten sturen op een primitieve en onbeschermde manier. Als iets perfect versleuteld is dan zou je niet eens opmerken dat het communicatie is. Zelfs een veiligheidsdienst zou dan dus die communicatie niet onderscheppen.
Het zou worden geïnterpreteerd als geluid, niets meer. Dit betekent dat er misschien buitenaardsen zijn die proberen te communiceren met systemen die alleen maar versleutelde berichten sturen. In dit geval zouden wij hun berichten nooit opvangen.
Iemand die ervan overtuigd is dat buitenaardsen inderdaad versleutelde berichten gebruiken om met ons te communiceren is ufoloog Scott Waring.
Als voorbeeld noemt hij de vreemde signalen die al jaren geleden werden opgevangen vanaf de komeet 67P.
Wij schreven al eerder een artikel over deze merkwaardige komeet die misschien toch wel iets meer is dan een stuk puin in de ruimte:
De klokkenluider zegt verder, "Jullie zijn toch niet zo gek om te geloven dat ze deze Rosetta missie die al in 2004 werd gelanceerd en miljarden Dollars kost, zomaar ondernemen om een stukje rots in de ruimte te onderzoeken? Nee, ze doen dit omdat er iets aan de hand is met 67P en omdat ze daar vandaan radiosignalen hebben opgevangen".
Als Snowden de waarheid spreekt dan is er te beoordelen aan wat hij zegt, binnen de NSA in ieder geval geen sprake van contact met buitenaardsen. Of het zou een aparte afdeling moeten zijn waar ook hij geen toegang tot had.
Wat zowel Snowden als Waring vergeten, is dat de mensen die contact hebben gehad met buitenaardsen dit bijna altijd telepathisch hebben gehad. Direct contact, waar absoluut geen sprake is van versleutelde berichten.

The first moves so fast, it looks like it has a trail and it reveals how it made a hard left turn towards the satellite. The second just appeared after the first as if it were chasing the first UFO. Alien invasion sparked as UFOs caught on camera in broad daylight above Britain. Two UFOswere recorded in video traveling in the sky above the Home Counties. Appearing like orbs of light, the objects were moving over Reading-Berkshire, making backward and forward movements.
The one minute and twenty-second video shows the two spheres interacting within one another. The lights’ movement is so strange wherein helicopters, or other earthly aerial vehicles can be ruled out as possible explanations.
In the video description, the one who posted the footage on social media says that the two flying light orbs were spotted recently in broad daylight over Reading, England.
Many people reported UFO sightings in Berkshire over the recent past years. In 2010, two friends spotted 21 UFOs over Reading that looked like rods. Top Gear host, Chris Evans, reported spotting a UFO in 2012 over Berkshire while walking his dog.
In 2013, a witness snapped photos of two disc-shaped flying saucers above a pub in Basingstoke. Just last year, a pilot of an Airbus reported near collision with a rugby ball-shaped UFO.
Each year a dozens of animals appeare mutilated. Their organs and sex organs are ripped out. The first known case was a horse called Lady that happened in Colorado in 1967.

However one expert is now saying that there may be truth to their claims.
Statistician David Saunders says that Betty was telling the truth as her drawing resembles Zeta Reticuli, a star system in the southern constellation of Reticulum.
He argues that there is no way Betty could have randomly sketched the star map.

Betty, who died in 2004, previously said of her abduction: "I was taken on board. Barney was taken into one room and I was taken into another. The one who did the testing we called The Examiner.

"Then they tried to insert a needle-like instrument in my navel which caused pain so they stopped doing it. Barney’s exam was very much like mine in the beginning except they were interested in his bone structure.”

Een Amerikaanse arts beweert tijdens een operatie van het Franse ministerie van Defensie contact te hebben gelegd met aliens. Dr. Steven Greer roept overheden overal ter wereld op om geheime documenten over buitenaards bezoek en UFO’s vrij te geven.
Tijdens een bijeenkomst in het Britse Westminster liet hij voor het eerst een brief van het Franse ministerie zien waarin werd gesproken over een experiment om contact te maken met aliens. Greer, oprichter van het Disclosure Project en het Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI), riep ook de bevolking op een einde te eisen aan alle geheimhouding.
Dr. Greer, die naar eigen zeggen iedere week wordt bedreigd door zogeheten Men in Black, zei dat hooggeplaatste ambtenaren bij het ministerie in 2010 een buitenaards schip lieten verschijnen. Het schip zou ook zijn vastgelegd op radar.
Marionetten
Hij claimde verder dat een ambassadeur uit het Andromedastelsel tijdens het experiment in een afgesloten gebied gedeeltelijk materialiseerde voor de neus van Franse leiders. Boven het gebied zou ten tijde van het experiment een no-flyzone zijn ingesteld.
“Dit is geen geheim, dus ik kan het met jullie delen,” aldus dr. Greer. In een volgepakte zaal zei hij verder dat hij aliens kan oproepen, dat een geheimzinnige organisatie bestaande uit corrupte leiders vanuit ondergrondse bases de wereld bestuurt en de waarheid over buitenaards bezoek geheim houdt en dat veel wereldleiders en royals zoals Barack Obama, David Cameron en prins Charles geen toegang hebben tot de geheime informatie omdat het slechts marionetten zijn die zijn aangesteld door de geheime elite, zodat het lijkt alsof we in een democratie leven.
Eerlijke politici die aansturen op de publieke bekendmaking van buitenaards contact, zijn volgens Greer geïntimideerd, ontvoerd of zelfs vermoord. Hij zegt hierover in gesprek te zijn met een nog niet nader genoemde supermacht.
Vrije energie
Greer zei ook dat voormalig secretaris-generaal van de VN Javier Pérez de Cuéllar in 1989 is ontvoerd door de corrupte elite nadat hij bij de toenmalige presidenten Gorbatsjov en George Bush aandrong op het naar buiten brengen van informatie over aliens en UFO’s.
Deze aliens kunnen de aarde volgens dr. Greer voorzien van onbeperkte vrije energie, maar daar steekt de elite een stokje voor omdat ze veel verdienen aan fossiele brandstoffen. Volgens hem is de corrupte elite ieder jaar tot wel 200 miljard dollar kwijt aan het in stand houden van al deze geheimen.
Ook zouden astronauten niet verder dan de maan mogen reizen totdat de aardbewoners stoppen elkaar uit te moorden. Niet iedereen is overtuigd van de beweringen van Greer. Volgens de website Occupy Theory overdrijft hij nogal en anderen stellen dat hij voor de CIA werkt.
Het Franse ministerie van Defensie was niet gelijk bereikbaar voor commentaar.
Het internet wordt tegenwoordig overspoeld met aandachttrekkers die allerlei nepvideo’s en foto’s van UFO’s plaatsen.
Wanneer je echter te maken hebt met de combinatie van een gepensioneerde piloot en een ouderwetse polaroid camera dan weet je dat een waarneming echt is.
De waarneming vond plaats op 13 september 2015 rond een uur of drie in de middag in de Amerikaanse staat Montana.
De getuige reed over Highway 278 in het zuidwestelijk deel van Montana toen hij een groot vreemd object zag hangen boven de bergen.
Hij parkeerde zijn auto, stapte uit en maakte een foto met zijn ouderwetse polaroid camera. Net toen hij de foto had genomen, schoot het object weg in minder dan 2 seconden.
Een stel uit Texas was ook gestopt, maar die bleven niet lang staan want die waren heel erg geschrokken en maakten snel dat ze weg kwamen.
Hoewel beiden een mobiele telefoon bij zich hadden, wilden ze daarmee geen foto van het vreemde object in de lucht maken.
De getuige vertelde dat hij een soort elektrische energie in de lucht ervoer en het gevoel had dat zijn haren recht overeind stonden.
Het object had lange dunne vleugels met aan elk een uitsteeksel aan het einde. Het object was ongeveer 5 minuten zichtbaar en hing stil in de lucht.
Volgens de getuige bevond het zich niet hoger dan maximaal 100 meter van de aarde om vervolgens binnen enkele seconden met een enorme snelheid te verdwijnen.
De foto is een gescande versie van een polaroidfoto, genomen met een oude SX-70 camera. Jammer dat de twee mensen uit Texas vanwege hun grote angst weigerden om opnames te maken.

A group of people believe they found debris from a UFO that may have landed on Earth millions of years ago. The alleged alien remains recently discovered came in the form of a disc made of a four-metre stone.
Alien enthusiast groups, UFOlogy and Kosmopoisk, found the object while on an expedition near Volgograd, Russia.
UFO enthusiasts, especially those observing Mars anomaly through NASA photos, said that the stone disc looks similar to the ones they have seen on Mars. They concluded that the newly discovered UFO was a military drone, but probably got off course and crashed landed on Earth.
The disc was one of many reportedly unearthed in the area. It may contain metal Tungsten (Wolfram), which is common in the military technology. Many UFOlogists believe that the same element may also present in a UFO.

Google Earth has apparently been the tool responsible for the discovery of two "secret" underground facilities in Antarctica. In the view of many ufologists and researchers, these mysterious entrances could be secret military underground facilities, extraterrestrial bases but even ordinary caves which formed over time due to the harsh weather conditions that rule over Antarctica.
"Famous" online ufologist Scott Waring believes that these entrances could lead towards a secret military base or a base that otherworldly beings created in Antarctica. In the video footage that was released by the anomaly hunter, Waring shows the image of a mysterious object that bizarrely resembles a flying saucer buried under the ice of Antarctica.
Scott Waring writes in his website: "Very interesting and intriguing images from Google Earth, which seem to show two possible entrances to an alien base or at least an entrance to something, and a huge saucer-shaped object buried in the ice. If there are Alien bases in the Antarctic it would follow that there are ET craft their also. "

Waring's comments seem to point towards a possible connection between the two entrances and the alleged crashed UFO found in the melting ice on Antarctica. Unfortunately, the images displayed on the video showing the dish are no longer available on Google Earth, making it impossible to confirm. Interestingly, the "two entrances" that are believed to be the secret underground bases are clearly visible. In the images, it seems that one of the entrances to the underground base seems to have some sort of metallic support at the entrance, and some believe that this points towards an artificial origin of the structure.

Ufologists point out that the entrances of the underground facilities are quite large, with a diameter of around one hundred meters and a height of around thirty meters. So what are these tunnels? Are they just natural caves that have formed on the Icy continent in the distant past? Or is it possible that these mysterious entrances lead towards an extraterrestrial research facility hidden under the harsh environment of Antarctica? We cannot rule out the possibility that these entrances might actually be secret military bases.
A very interesting documentary called Third Reich - Operation UFO seems to question a lot of things regarding Antarctica and one of those things, that the documentary approaches, is whether there s a possibility that Antarctica might be home to numerous secret underground bases.
After the Soviet collapse in 1991, the KGB released previously classified documents that shed light on the infamous "Operation Highjump." Intelligence reports obtained by Soviet spies working in the United States revealed that the United States NAVY sent numerous expeditions to Antarctica for mysterious purposes.
Operation Highjump, officially titled The United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946–1947, was a United States Navy operation organized by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd Jr., USN (Ret), Officer in Charge, Task Force 68, and led by Rear Admiral Richard H. Cruzen, USN, Commanding Officer, Task Force 68. Operation Highjump commenced 26 August 1946 and ended in late February 1947. Task Force 68 included 4,700 men, 13 ships, and 33 aircraft. Even though the operations primary mission was to "establish the Antarctic research base Little America IV," some believe its true purpose is far more mysterious than anyone of us can imagine.
As far as I remember, I have always been fascineted, even obsessed, by everything concerning extraterrestrials as if, in secret, they were playing an important role in my life. Although many people like to think we are the only intelligent life forms to walk this earth, this might be far from the truth. This is one of the mysterious fossilized humanoid skulls found in Africa that make us question what we think we know. It's a common theme in the evolution of man and thought.
We consider something to be true and factual for many years, and then suddenly a new piece of information arises that completely dismisses everything we once believed. Think of the earth being flat for example. This was once commonly believed to be true, and it took a great deal of time before people finally let go of this false notion in favor of the reality which was that earth is round. Now we have the technology necessary to soar into space where we could get a full view of the shape of our planets, but like all things, advancements like these take time.
The same goes for all the alien evidence. At the moment there's no way we can fully prove that they exist. Accounts from people who have spotted strange sightings abound, but it's difficult to tell what they actually saw. Sometimes our eyes play tricks on us, other times certain optical illusions can be quite persuasive. And finally, when people have video footage or photographs, there's always a chance that it was totally altered to look like something completely different.
The skulls that have been found in the past 10 years have brought about a lot of controversy. Some people claim that they are completely fake, and that it's all just a hoax. While others protest and swear that they are real artifacts that are carbon dated to thousands of years ago. It's hard to say what's true, either way it certainly makes for an interesting story.
This skull is one of the many that resemble a human in certain respects, but is clearly still not human at all. The size of the top of the head is way out of proportion, exactly like the alien heads we're used to on our movies and shows. The eyes are huge, and the chin is sharply pointed. This particular skull is a little more creepy than some of the other ones that have been found, but it's still consistent in the shape and form of the features. What's more interesting is that this skull is dated to around 14 million years ago, in addition it has incredibly high amounts of iridium in it which is a common element found in meteors. So what do you think, is this skull truly an artifact that proves aliens have walked the earth? Or is it just a hoax? It's fascinating to think about, and only time will tell. The US government whistleblower Edward Snowden believes encryption might make it difficult or even impossible to distinguish signals from alien species from cosmic background radiation.
On Friday night, Snowden appeared from Moscow on the astrophysicist and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson’s StarTalk podcast, via a robot video link called a “beam remote presence system”.
In a candid interview with Tyson, Snowden said he signed up for the US army following the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001.
“It took a very long time for me to develop any kind of skepticism at all even to the most over-extended claims of the extension of programs or policies [by the US security services],” he said.
The conversation turned to the possibility that data encryption might be making it harder to intercept communications from aliens.
“If you look at encrypted communication, if they are properly encrypted, there is no real way to tell that they are encrypted,” Snowden said. “You can’t distinguish a properly encrypted communication from random behaviour.”
Therefore, Snowden continued, as human and alien societies get more sophisticated and move from “open communications” to encrypted communication, the signals being broadcast will quickly stop looking like recognisable signals.
“So if you have an an alien civilization trying to listen for other civilizations,” he said, “or our civilization trying to listen for aliens, there’s only one small period in the development of their society when all their communication will be sent via the most primitive and most unprotected means.”
After that, Snowden said, alien messages would be so encrypted that it would render them unrecognisable, “indistinguishable to us from cosmic microwave background radiation”. In that case, humanity would not even realise it had received such communications.
“Only,” Tyson replied jovially, “if they have the same security problems as us.”

He unveiled paperwork, which he claimed was "the most important UFO disclosure document in existence," during a seminar in London which was also broadcast live on the internet.
Dr Greer, who claims he is threatened by so-called "Men in Black" on a weekly basis, said top French MoD officials summoned an alien craft in 2010.
It was confirmed on radar as passing overhead at 120,000 miles per hour.
He also claimed an "alien ambassador" from the Andromeda galaxy partially materialised in front of the French leaders during the experiment on a sealed-off 220-acre estate. It had a no-fly zone above to prevent any normal aircraft passing.
He said: "This is not classified so I can share it with you, I did not release it before because I was just giving them time to prepare."

Dr Greer, who charged £50 a head to attend the conference or £26 to watch a live stream of the event, showed the audience slides of what he claimed were real aliens and UFOs caught beaming to Earth from other dimensions.

Dr Greer said inter-stellar civilisations were graded on levels of how advanced and enlightened they were from one upwards, but Earth scored zero because we keep killing each other.

He said: "Our group initiates contact with people of level 300 - a bit of a gap - but once people stop lying that gap can be closed, quickly.

But whereas, he claimed "men in black thugs" frightened off mainstream US MoD officials, the French ignored their threats, leading to nasty contact from aliens.
He made a call to arms to paranormal enthusiasts to try and make contact with aliens to get the authorities off his back.
He said: "If we all do it they can't keep tracks on us all.
The real power is with all of us together, that they cannot stop, if we squeeze the toothpaste it will come out fast enough."
Dr Greer has written books and made DVDs about his claims and is currently promoting a feature-length documentary about them, available to view for a fee on his website, which also welcomes donations.
Not everyone who has heard his claims are convinced by them.
Debunking website Occupy Theory said after looking into his claims: "The problem that Steven Greer has is that in order to establish his own credibility, he has been forced to exaggerate.
"Even his alleged conversation about UFOs with the director of the CIA was not anywhere near what everyone else at that gathering remembers and they put their memories into response letters to discredit Greer’s claims.

"The disclosure project is to slow people down, it was created to give people a false hope for "disclosure". If we leave "disclosure" up to the disclosure project it will never happen."
Express.co.uk has put Dr Greer's claims to the French MoD and awaits a response.
