Dit is ons nieuw hondje Kira, een kruising van een waterhond en een Podenko. Ze is sinds 7 februari 2024 bij ons en druk bezig ons hart te veroveren. Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

Le 19 septembre 1961, Betty et Barney Hill, originaires de la ville de Portsmouth dans le New Hampshire, soutiennent qu’ils ont été enlevés par des extraterrestres.
À l’époque, la carte dessinée par Betty (sous hypnose), illustrant le lieu exact où habitent les extraterrestres, a été discréditée par les scientifiques. Ces derniers ont affirmé qu'il n'y avait aucune constellation similaire au dessin et qu'il ne ressemblait à aucune formation connue à l'époque.

Cinquante ans plus tard, le statisticien David Saunders soutient que le dessin de Betty, dont l'alignement inhabituel des étoiles dans l’image reflète l’étoile binaire Zeta Reticuli, située dans la constellation du Réticule à 39 années-lumière de la Terre, ne peut pas être dû au hasard. Selon lui, Betty aurait vraisemblablement été victime d'un enlèvement par des extraterrestres.

Betty, avant sa mort en 2004, a déclaré en entrevue: «On m’a emmené à bord. Barney a été transporté dans une pièce, moi dans une autre».
Cette dernière a ensuite ajouté: «Ils m’ont d’abord mis sur un tabouret pour vérifier mes yeux, mes oreilles, mon nez et ma gorge. Ensuite, ils m’ont mis sur une table et dit qu’ils voulaient vérifier mon système nerveux. Puis, ils ont essayé d’insérer un instrument semblable à une aiguille dans mon nombril, mais j’ai eu très mal et ils ont arrêté. L'examen de Barney était très semblable au mien, sauf qu'ils étaient intéressés par sa structure osseuse».
Betty se souvient aussi d’une conversation qu’elle a eue avec «Le chef», dans lequel elle a demandé où habitaient les extraterrestres: «Je lui ai dit: Je sais que vous n'êtes pas de cette planète, mais d’où venez-vous? » C’est alors qu’il lui aurait montré une carte des étoiles indiquant l’endroit où ils venaient.
Sous hypnose, Betty a dessiné la carte composée de douze étoiles, reliées par des lignes, et trois autres qui formaient un triangle distinctif.
David Saunders, un statisticien qui a travaillé sur l'étude Condon UFO, a fait valoir que l'alignement inhabituel des étoiles autour de l’étoile Zeta Reticuli était statistiquement impossible. Donc, l’histoire de Betty pourrait s'avérer véridique.

Il a affirmé que seuls les étrangers auraient pu lui donner ce type d’information.
La robe que portait Betty ce soir-là révèle aussi un fait troublant sur leur enlèvement. Une étrange poudre rose, qui n’est pas «d’origine biologique», a été retrouvée sur ses vêtements.

Il y avait également des cercles brillants couvrant le coffre de leur voiture. Lorsqu’une boussole a été placée près d'eux, elle s’est mise à tourner dans tous les sens.
Plus tard, après la «rencontre», le couple a commencé à éprouver de terribles cauchemars et a souffert de symptômes de stress sévère.

Barney est devenu si malade que le couple a fait appel au Dr Benjamin Simon, qui l’a mis sous hypnose. C’est alors qu’il a fait une découverte étonnante.
Barney était en mesure de se rappeler clairement de tous les détails de son enlèvement, servant comme une preuve supplémentaire à l'histoire du couple.
Pendant une séance, Barney a également été en mesure de dessiner une incroyable image de la créature qui l’aurait examiné. C’est la première image connue d’un étranger.

From floating spoons and coffins to crabs and pyramids, alien hunters are often reporting strange structures in images beamed back from the surface of Mars.
Now, the latest 'discovery' seen using high-resolution images of the Martian surface, a mysterious circle of stones have been spotted on top of a raised mound on the planet.
Dubbed 'Marshenge', alien enthusiasts have been comparing it to the famous stone circle at Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England.

A stone circle that has been compared to Stonehenge has been spotted in images sent back by a spacecraft orbiting the red planet. Dubbed 'Marshenge', alien hunters have seized on the images but experts say it could be created by natural processes which cause rocks to be 'sorted' in freeze and thaw cycles of permafrost
The strange cluster of stones has already triggered theories that it may have been built by aliens.
However, experts have in the past said such stone circles may form as a result of natural processes that also occur here on Earth.
WHAT IS PAREIDOLIA?
Many scientists believe that seeing strange objects, such as a 'coffin' on Mars, is simple a case of pareidolia.
This is a psychological response to seeing faces and other significant and everyday items in random places.
It is a form of apophenia, which is when people see patterns or connections in unconnected data.
There have been multiple occasions when people have claimed to see religious images and themes in unexpected places, especially the faces of religious figures.
Many involve images of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the word Allah.
For example, in September 2007 a callus on a tree resembled a monkey, leading believers in Singapore to pay homage to the Monkey god.
Another famous instance was when Mary's face was a grilled cheese sandwich. Images of Jesus have even been spotted inside the lid of a jar of Marmite and in a potato.
For example, the freeze-thaw cycle of permafrost can cause sediment to churn and separate by grain size that can cause boulders or large rocks to produce stone circles or polygons on low slopes.
The stone circle was highlighted on the Facebook page of a group called Journey to the Surface of the Mars, which regularly pinpoints unusual 'alien' features.
In a video posted on YouTube, however, one self-confessed alien hunter calling himself Mr Enigma, said: 'It looks eerily similar to what we have here on Earth.
'I'm just saying there is something strange about this area and that it looks very much like the mysterious ancient stones of Stonehenge.
'Could the builders of Stonehenge have visited Mars and did they build the same thing there or did we have visitors teach us how to build these things and do the same for long lost beings on mars as well, or is this just another face on mars illusion.'
Nigel Watson, author of The UFO Investigations Manual, said 'Marshenge' was likely to strengthen the determination of those who believe ancient monuments like Stonehenge were built by aliens.
He said: 'Pyramid structures have been regularly spotted on Mars that have been linked to the ancient pyramids of Earth, now with Marshenge we have a link with our earlier prehistoric structures.

Stonehenge on Earth has long been associated with supernatural folktales and stories that it had been built by aliens.
Little is known about what the site was actually used for when it was built in around 3,100BC.
Many experts believe it was used for religious ceremonies or to mark the summer solstice.
Others believe it served as a meeting point for the surrounding areas or even for prehistoric people to monitor the heavens.
Earlier this month archaeologists announced the discovery of another line of standing stones around a mile away from Stonehenge that dates back 4,500 years.
The buried stones were found along the south-eastern edge of what later became known as the Durrington Walls 'superhenge' – a circular earthworks a third of a mile across.

The stone circle on Mars was spotted in images captured by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment, or HiRise, camera on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
It is the latest in a number of 'mysterious' objects seen in images of the surface of Mars.
Recently these have included a coffin-sha ped rock, another shaped like a Star Destroyer from the film Star Wars, a crab-like creature shaped like a facehugger from Alien and cutlery.
Nasa rarely comments on these claims but in August a one of its scientists spoke out on the topic to insist that the agency was not trying to hide evidence of alien life from the general public.,

POSSIBLE SEXUAL ALIEN ABDUCTION IN SYDNER AUSTRALIA
A Sydney, Australia abduction experience from 1992, with biological evidence, became the subject of the world’s first DNA PCR “alien abduction” related investigation, yielding intriguing results that have suggested fascinating new lines of investigation and speculation. Born in 1964, in Lebanon, Peter Khoury migrated to Australia in 1973. He met his future wife, Vivian in 1981, marrying in 1990. They have 2 children. What might be Peter’s first encounter with a UFO occurred in Lebanon in the summer of 1971 at age 7. He and seven other children had gone up onto the flat rooftop of his neighbor’s house to play. Peter was the last to walked through a heavy door that leads onto the roof. He then saw all his friends “frozen” like statues in front of him, while a silent egg-shaped craft hovered above. All eight children later found themselves on the ground floor after some time had elapsed, with no memory of the intervening period. In Sydney, during February 1988, Peter and Vivian saw a strange light doing extraordinary movements in conjunction with a beam of light effect. A frightening and life changing alien abduction experience occurred on July 12, 1988. Khoury had lay on a bed and was overwhelmed by paralysis. A number of beings became apparent around him. One of them, a tall thin golden yellow colored being, with large black eyes, inserted a long needle like object into the side of his head. Khoury blackout. He regained consciousness with a start and rushed into the adjoining room where he found other family members in a “switched-off” state. Rousing them, Khoury found that while they thought only some 10 minutes had passed, in reality it seemed between 1 to 2 hours had passed. An injury to his head was verified. At that time Peter Khoury had no real context to anchor his disturbing experience. Eventually he became aware of abduction experiences and entered the UFO field to initially understand what happened to him. Eventually, frustrated with the problems and politics that plagued his association with ufology he formed a support group – the UFO Experience Support Association (UFOESA) during April, 1993. Despite trying to focus on supporting others, Peter Khoury found that strange experiences had continued for him. In retrospect, the most striking one occurred on July 23, 1992, according to diary entries. He had been recovering from head injuries received in a job site assault (he worked in the building industry in his own cement rendering business).

At about 7 am, having returned to his Sydney suburban home from the train station, after dropping off his wife, Khoury felt unwell and lay down on the bed to sleep. He awoke with a start sometime later, becoming aware of something alighting on the bed. He was shocked to see two strange women kneeling on the end of his bed. Both were naked. One appeared Nordic and the other Asian. Aspects of their appearance were quite odd. The Nordic female had a very elongated face and a sharply point chin. Her eyes appeared to be blue and 2 to 3 times larger than normal. She had very fine wispy blonde hair that seemed to be oddly blown up. Her skin color was quite light. The dark brown skinned Asian looking woman seemed to have almost completely black eyes. Her hair was black and set in a firm page-boy style. Although no normal communication occurred, the Nordic woman seemed to be in charge and Khoury got the impression she was giving the Asian looking woman some sort of instruction. What followed was quite disorientating for Khoury. The Nordic woman, who seemed to be over 6 feet tall and apparently very strong, reached forward and pulled Khoury’s head to her breast. He resisted, trying to pull away. She did this 3 times. Finally Khoury, trying to cope with the shock and disorientating nature of this experience, bit on her nipple apparently swallowing a piece from it. The Nordic woman, although seemingly confused, did not react with any pain and nor was there any sign of blood. She seemed to convey to the other woman that this was not the way things were supposed to happen. Khoury was overcome with a coughing fit. Moments later, looking up again, he found that both women had vanished. The coughing caused Khoury to go to the bathroom to get a drink of water. When he went to urinate he found it very painful to do so, due to, it turned out, some very fine blonde hair wrapped tightly under his foreskin. Khoury removed the hair and had the foresight to place it in a plastic sachet bag with a seal. He did that because he felt there was no way it should have been there.It was unlike his wife’s hair. Khoury concluded that something extraordinarily bizarre had just occurred and linked the 2 pieces of blonde thin hair (about 10-12 cm & 6-8 cm long) to the strange tall, blonde haired Nordic looking woman. Even though Vivian had been very supportive of him about his 1988 abduction experience, Peter refrained from telling her what occurred for about 2 weeks. She accepted it far better than Peter did, telling him it was something he has no control over and they would deal with it as best as they could. Like many other abductees Peter Khoury has had a number of experiences. During November, 1996, while lying in bed with Vivian beside him asleep, he felt an energy presence intruding into the room. He opened his eyes. He saw what seemed to be several hooded small figures (similar to his 1988 experience) appearing to come through the mirror. As they came closer Peter experienced paralysis and felt he was being floated horizontally feet first towards the mirror. Touching the surface of the mirror with his feet felt like he was going into water, like a change of density, not something solid. Khoury felt a sense of electrical static buzzing right through his body. He watched as the reflection of his head approached his face. As soon as they touched, he blacked out. He did not remember anything else other than waking up in the bed again. There were other episodes in about 1994 or early 1995 involving a light burst or sound of an explosion, this being witnessed in part by Vivian. On another occasion he felt a “pins and needles” paralysis developing. He tried to wake Vivian. He was eventually after great difficulty able to touch her. She woke up and simultaneously it was “like somebody ripped the sheets off him”. Peter likened it to as if something was sucked out of him. Een luchtmachtingenieur claimt dat de Britse geheime dienst MI5 hoaxers heeft betaald om graancirkels te maken in een poging het onderzoek naar dit fenomeen in diskrediet te brengen.
David Clayton, een expert op het gebied van graancirkels een veeverminking, sprak tijdens de jaarlijkse conferentie van het UFO Truth Magazine van een complot om de waarheid te verdrukken.
Clayton vertelde in de jaren tachtig graancirkels te hebben gezien die in zijn ogen onmogelijk door hoaxers konden zijn gemaakt. Volgens hem waren de formaties gemaakt door aliens, omdat de planten in de cirkel niet waren platgedrukt door een fysieke kracht, maar door warmte.
Sommigen beweren dat graancirkels worden achtergelaten op plekken waar net een vliegende schotel is geland. Clayton zei dat de meeste graancirkels die sinds de jaren negentig zijn gemeld nep zijn, maar dat er ook echte exemplaren zijn gevonden.
Hij claimde dat Britse inlichtingendiensten de meeste cirkels maken om het onderzoek in diskrediet te brengen. “MI5 betaalde mensen om ze te maken,” zei hij.
Ufoloog Gary Hestletine, de organisator van de bijeenkomst, zei dat de autoriteiten onverklaarbare activiteiten bewust wegwuiven of debunken. Hij wees ook met een beschuldigende vinger naar de mainstream media. “De mensen zijn het beu om geridiculiseerd te worden,” zei hij.
Volgens Hestletine is er overweldigend bewijs dat aliens hier zijn en de aarde al jaren bezoeken. MI5 was niet direct bereikbaar voor commentaar.
De mensheid is druk doende de ruimte en verre planeten te onderzoeken waarop leven mogelijk zou kunnen zijn.
Wat vaak vergeten wordt, is dat 95% van de oceanen op onze aarde nog nooit is onderzocht en er zich onderwater talloze mysteries bevinden.
Omdat ook de grote onderwaterontdekkingen van belang zijn voor het begrip over onze wereld als totaal besteden we nog maar eens aandacht aan een paar daarvan.
Eén van deze grote mysteries is ongetwijfeld het vreemde object wat in de zomer van 2011 door een aantal Zweedse onderzoekers op de bodem van de Oostzee is ontdekt.
Wij hebben hierover reeds talloze artikelen geschreven: “Ik dacht in eerste instantie dat we een UFO hadden gevonden op de zeebodem,” aldus leider van de schatzoekers Peter Lindberg.
Aan de hand van sonarmetingen weet het team dat het object 60 meter in doorsnee is. Het is bovendien niet alleen. Op de zeebodem ligt nog een kleiner object met een gelijksoortige vorm. Het fascinerende is dat zich achter beide objecten sporen bevinden die zich uitstrekken over een gebied van meer dan 120 meter.
De theorie dat het om een schip zou gaan blijft volgens Lindberg niet overeind vanwege de enorme omvang van de objecten. “Het zou kunnen gaan om een onderdeel van een ander schip, maar het is echt groot,” zei hij tegenover CNN. “Sommige waarnemers speculeren dat de objecten mogelijk Russische oorlogsschepen zijn uit de laat 19e eeuw. Die schepen waren echter veel kleiner en voeren in die tijd niet door de Oostzee.”
Voor de liefhebbers volgt hier een uitgebreide documentaire over wat er tot nu toe is gebeurd en de stand van zaken tot en met vorig jaar zomer.
Dit is één van de niet opgeloste mysteries op de bodem van de zee.
In 2013 schreven wij overde Japanse duiker Kihachiro Aratake die in In 1985 de zeebodem bij Yonaguni (meest westelijke eiland van Japan) onderzocht, waarbij hij vreemde rotsformaties vond die er kunstmatig uitzagen. Hij waarschuwde de Universiteit van Okinawa over zijn ontdekking.
Al snel was een wetenschappelijk team ter plaatse. Zij concludeerden dat de plaatselijke zeebodem ruïnes herbergt van constructies die vermoedelijk nog voor het einde van de laatste ijstijd zijn gebouwd.
Wij schreven eerder ook over de onderwaterontdekking in deGolf van Khambhat (voorheen ook bekend als de Golf van Cambay), een inham van de Arabische Zee aan de westkust van India, in de deelstaat Gujarat.
Het is op deze plek dat in 2001 een stad onder water werd gevonden die eigenlijk niet kan bestaan. Want hij is 32.000 jaar oud en volgens onze geschiedenisboeken zijn de eerste beschavingen op aarde pas rond 5.000 jaar voor Christus ontstaan.
Zo zijn er zelfs sterke vermoedens van buitenaardse onderwaterbases zoals die waar wij meerdere keren aandacht aan besteedden, 450 meter onder de waterspiegel voor de kust van Malibu in Amerika.

Eyewitness states: I was outside in the morning having a cup of coffee when i noticed a star to the East, which is not unusual. The star was bright and i looked away and when i looked back it was a long line up and down and i thought thats strange its just a weird cloud. Then it changed back to a circle and thats when things got really strange. The circle got bigger and then it flattened out the the disk shape i have in the pictures. I went and got my phone because i thought nobody is going to believe me. Especially my husband.
De 'killer-rock' zou inslaan op de aarde, ergens ter hoogte van Puerto Rico. De impact van die vervloekte asteroïde 2012 TT5 zou gigantisch zijn: zelfs het einde van de wereld is een optie. Dat was tenminste het doemscenario dat de 'believers' voorspelden. Maar NASA bevestigt opnieuw dat het zo'n vaart heus niet zal lopen, wanneer de asteroïde vandaag langs de aarde zoeft. Meer nog: op 4 oktober passeert er een nieuwe, de 2015 FS332, aan een hogere snelheid, dichter bij de aarde én minstens twee keer zo groot qua diameter (580 meter tot 1,3 km) dan die van vandaag.
De kans dat de enorme asteroïde van 270 meter straks botst met onze planeet aarde is belachelijk klein. Ook in de nabije toekomst worden er geen inslagen van asteroïden of kometen verwacht, bevestigt NASA nog eens, nu het moment nadert dat de asteroïde rakelings langs de aarde zal scheren. Nu ja, rakelings is relatief: er blijft volgens wetenschappelijke berekeningen minstens een afstand van 8,33 miljoen kilometer en de verwachte afstand bedraagt zo'n 9,35 miljoen kilomter. Ook de eigenlijk veel indrukwekkendere asteroïde 2015 FS332 zal de aarde dus niet raken op 4 oktober.
Doemdenkers weten dezer dagen niet waar ze moeten kruipen, of net wél. Want eind september 2015 is een topkanshebber om het einde van de wereld in te luiden. Zo passeren er de komende dagen nog wel meer asteroïdes op nabije afstand van de aarde en op 28 september is er dan de fameuze bloedmaan. Aanhangers van het geloof in de apocalyps zien onder meer aanwijzingen in de Bijbel dat het einde der tijden in de huidige periode zal plaatsvinden.
Het antwoord op de vraag wat er gebeurt met een menstruerende vrouw in de ruimte is even simpel als saai: niets bijzonders. Wat wél interessant en tegelijkertijd hilarisch is, zijn de misverstanden die lange tijd over vrouwen en hun regels op een ruimteschip circuleerden. Van vrees voor omgekeerde menstruaties tot 100 zwevende tampons: een overzicht.
Vandaag de dag is het ondenkbaar, maar in de beginjaren van de ruimtevaart was menstruatie één van de argumenten om te onderbouwen waarom vrouwen beter geen astronauten zouden worden. Er werd beweerd dat ongesteldheid invloed heeft op je competenties, en menstruerende vrouwen werden zelfs verantwoordelijk gehouden voor verschillende vliegtuigcrashes. Hoewel een studie uit de jaren 40 van vorige eeuw bewees dat maandstonden niet aan de basis konden liggen van zulke ongelukken, bleef het idee nog lang nazinderen dat ongestelde vrouwen en de ruimte geen goede combinatie vormen.
In de jaren 60 ging men ervan uit dat ingewikkelde machines en ongestelde vrouwen niet samengingen.
In 1964 suggereerden onderzoekers van het Women in Space Program - nochtans zonder duidelijke wetenschappelijke bewijzen - dat het geen goed idee was om een "door hormonen geteisterde vrouw" samen te zetten met ingewikkelde machines. Anderen benadrukten dan weer de mogelijke gezondheidsrisico's van ongesteld de ruimte in gaan. Er werd gevreesd dat microzwaartekracht zou zorgen voor een hevigere "retrograde menstruatie", het verschijnsel waarbij menstruatiebloed uit de baarmoeder terugvloeit naar de bekkenholte door de eileiders. Dit fenomeen treedt in beperkte mate ook op bij een gewone menstruatie, maar in de ruimte zou het onder invloed van de microzwaartekracht kunnen verergeren, dacht men toen. Dat zou zorgen voor pijn en andere gezondheidsproblemen. Toch werden er nooit experimenten gedaan die dit zwart op wit konden bewijzen.
Vrouwelijke astronauten om seksueel te ontladen
In 1971 opperde een NASA-rapport dat een astronaut zijn vrouw zou kunnen meenemen op een missie, om zijn seksuele spanning ten gepaste tijde kwijt te raken.
Een NASA rapport uit 1971 suggereerde even dat er misschien wel plek zou zijn voor vrouwen in de ruimte, zij het in een bijrol als vervulster van seksuele driften. Er werd geopperd dat een astronaut zijn vrouw zou kunnen meenemen op een missie, zodat hij zijn seksuele spanning ten gepaste tijde kon kwijtraken, wat zijn prestaties als astronaut ten goede komt. Toch besluit het rapport door te stellen dat "anderzijds zo'n situatie kan zorgen voor interpersoonlijke spanningen, nog heviger dan de seksuele spanningen." En daarmee was het ontstane idee van vrouwen aan boord van een ruimteschip meteen weer verworpen. De schrijvers van het NASA-rapport verklaren vandaag de dag dat het grappend bedoeld was, in een context van een grotere discussie over het probleem van seksuele lustgevoelens tijdens een lange missie. Toch blijft het opmerkelijk dat dit soort taal gebruikt werd in een officieel NASA-rapport.
De Russische Valentina Tereshkova was de eerste vrouw in de ruimte in 1963. Het duurde tot 1983 voor de eerste Amerikaanse vrouwelijke astronaute Sally Ride de ruimte werd ingestuurd. Maar ook toen bleef ongesteldheid in een ruimteschip echter nog een groot mysterie, ontdekte zij toen haar mannelijke collega's probeerden berekenen hoeveel tampons er in de ruimte zouden vliegen na een vlucht van één week. "Ze vroegen me of 100 het juiste getal was," vertelt Ride.
Anno 2015, na 3 decennia van vrouwen in de ruimte, kunnen we met zekerheid zeggen: menstruatie blijft heel normaal, ook buiten de aardse context. Microzwaartekracht heeft geen enkele invloed op de menstruele cyclus, dus vrouwelijke astronauten kunnen probleemloos de ruimte in tijdens "die tijd van de maand".
NIEUWE DINOSOORTMaak kennis met de - hou u vast - Ugrunaaluk kuukpikensis. Die nieuw ontdekte dinosoort met eendenbek leefde miljoenen jaren geleden in Alaska. Wetenschappers ontdekken zo stukje bij beetje een verloren wereld van 'pooldino's'. Maar hoe overleefden die dieren in die kou en duisternis?
De Ugrunaaluk kuukpikensis ('oude grazer' in het Inupiaq, de taal van de Inupiat-Inuit in Alaska) werd ontdekt in het 'Liscomb Bone Bed', een kleine 500 kilometer ten noordwesten van Fairbanks in de noordelijke Amerikaanse staat Alaska en op 160 kilometer ten zuiden van de Noordelijke Ijszee. Het blijkt een aparte subsoort van de hadrosaurus te zijn, een plantenetende dino met een eendenbek, die zo'n 69 miljoen jaar geleden leefde in het late 'Krijt'.
De Ugrunaaluk kuukpikensis liep waarschijnlijk vooral op zijn achterpoten, maar kon zich ook op vier poten voortbewegen. De fossielen van de jonge dieren die werden ontdekt, waren zo'n 2,7 meter lang en 90 cm hoog. Een volwassen exemplaar kon tot 9 meter lang worden. Via honderden tanden konden ze de taaie vegetatie die er toentertijd stond, gekauwd krijgen.
Eerder werden er al andere hadrosaurussen gevonden in Canada en wat zuidelijker in VS. Oorspronkelijk dachten de paleontologen aan het Liscomb Bone Bed dan ook dat het om Edmontosaurussen ging, net zoals er in die andere gebieden waren ontdekt. Het formele onderzoek maakte duidelijk dat het om een andere subsoort moet gaan. Voor Alaska is het intussen al de vierde unieke soort.

En zo gaat er langzaam maar zeker een hele verloren dinowereld voor ons open. Een veel koudere wereld dan die van de alom bekende dinosaurussoorten. "Vandaag vinden we deze dieren op polaire breedtegraden", zegt professor Pat Druckenmiller van het University of Alaska Museum of the North in een persbericht. "Verbazingwekkend genoeg leefden ze zelfs nog een pak noordelijker tijdens het Krijt. Dit waren de meest noordelijke dinosaurussen die ooit geleefd hebben."
De Ugrunaaluk kuukpikensis moesten maanden van winterkou, vermoedelijk sneeuw en duisternis kunnen doorstaan. Niet dat er zo koud was als nu - een gemiddelde jaartemperatuur van vijf à negen graden lijkt waarschijnlijk - maar het waren zeker niet de tropische temperaturen die we verbinden aan de meeste dinosaurussen. Wetenschappers vermoeden dat de nieuw ontdekte dinosoort daar permanent woonde, net zoals muskusosssen of kariboes nu. "Het lijkt moeilijk in te beelden dat de kleine, jonge dino's fysiek in staat waren tot seizoensmigratie over lange afstanden", luidt het in The Guardian.
Wetenschappers vinden de locatie van de vondst bijzonder fascinerend, omdat er bijvoorbeeld ook geen krokodillen, schildpadden, hagedissen of andere koudbloedige dieren gevonden zijn. Die hebben de zon of een andere bron van warmte nodig om hun lichaamswarmte te reguleren en die was er niet (voldoende) in het noorden van Alaska.
Dus dat zegt iets over de dino's die er wel konden leven, zegt de betrokken onderzoeker Gregory Erickson van de universiteit van Florida. "Het roept onmiddellijk de vraag op: hoe overleefden ze dan?" Hij suggereert zo dat deze dinosaurussen mogelijk fysiologische trekken van vogels of zelfs zoogdieren hadden.

Op 19 augustus filmde een dashcam een vreemd rond object in de lucht. Het zwarte ding zweefde traag over De Pinte en believers dachten dat het om een UFO ging. Dat mysterie werd gisteren in het VIER-programma Karen & De Coster ontrafeld: volgens het Belgische UFO-meldpunt bleek het gewoon om een ballon te gaan. Wat een anticlimax.
Het UFO-meldpunt onderzocht de zaak en stelde vast dat het object even snel en in dezelfde richting als de wind voortbewoog. Het werd snel duidelijk dat het om een folieballon ging, een ballon die vaak gebruikt wordt voor feestjes en die je gewoon in een speelgoedwinkel kan kopen.
Het UFO-meldpunt werd in 2007 opgericht en onderzocht al 1760 meldingen. Elke melding wordt nauwkeurig onderzocht en opgehelderd op de website. Toch zijn veel meldingen te vaag, waardoor de onderzoekers vaak niet tot een heldere verklaring kunnen komen. En zonder verklaring blijft een melding voor altijd een mysterie.

Si nous nous intéressons à l’idée du Dr. Bostrom, que notre univers est une simulation informatique, créée par un super esprit et généré par un code informatique, cela résout un grand nombre d’incohérences et de mystères à propos du cosmos. Nous avons le droit de nous demander qui se cache derrière cette simulation, où sont-ils et pourquoi ne les voyons-nous pas?
L’univers est incroyablement grand – des milliards de milliards d’étoiles et encore plus de planètes peuplent ce gigantesque espace, donc il doit y avoir de la vie ailleurs n’est-ce pas, mais où est-elle?
La taille et l’âge de l’univers suggèrent que plusieurs civilisations extraterrestres hautement sophistiquées doivent forcément exister. Cependant, cette hypothèse semble rentrer en contradiction avec le manque de preuves et d’observations pour la soutenir.
Le soleil est une étoile lambda, et relativement jeune. Il y a des milliards d’étoiles dans notre galaxie qui ont des milliards d’années de plus que le soleil.
Il y a une très forte probabilité que ces étoiles hébergent ou ont hébergé des planètes similaires à la Terre. En assumant que la Terre est typique, certaines de ces planètes peuvent donc développer la vie telle que nous la connaissons.
Certaines civilisations extraterrestres peuvent avoir développé le voyage interstellaire, une technologie qui est en phase d’être découverte sur cette planète (hype).
A la vitesse à laquelle nous envisageons à l’heure actuelle les voyages interstellaires, la galaxie peut être complètement colonisée en l’espace de quelques millions d’années.
En suivant cette ligne de pensées, la Terre a forcément du être colonisée par le passé, ou bien a reçu la visite de quelqu’un. Mais Fermi ne pense pas que c’est une preuve satisfaisante, tout comme il n’y a pas de vie intelligente ailleurs dans la galaxie ou ailleurs dans l’univers observable.
Alors il reste la question… Sommes-nous seuls dans l’univers ou sommes nous le produit d’un super esprit?
Si nous suivons l’explication de Enrico Fermi, cela pourrait simplement être que la Terre et l’humanité sont vraiment le centre de l’univers mais d’après Nick Bostrom nous sommes le produit d’un code informatique ultra sophistiqué et nous vivons dans une matrix, une prison digitale qui a été créée par des extraterrestres.

Just recently there has been a lot of talk about a Meteor which was caught on camera burning up in the Iranian skies recently, NOT actually being a Meteor at all, but instead an Alien ‘scout’ craft, which was supposedly shot down by a joint effort by Iran and Russia…..and ‘apparently’ this was all agreed by President Putin.
This allegation does tie in very nicely with the whole end of the World scenario, which is supposed to happen (again!) come the end of September 2015, either as a result of ferocious earthquakes brought about by a ‘Blood Moon’ event on September 28, or due to a huge asteroid strike anytime from September 23 onwards. But just to confirm with you all, that U.I.P ‘truly’ does NOT believe the world is going to end anytime soon – although there are many strange things going on around the world these days!

NASA, like back in 2012 with the Mayan end of world Calendar, have publically confirmed that the world is NOT due to end anytime soon. But in all seriousness, would they really tell the people of this planet that the world is soon to end? I doubt it somehow.
Many people around the world believe that an apparent ‘alien invasion’ will signal the start of the apocalypse later this month, but will be dismissed by officials as just a natural disaster. With UFO sightings ‘doubling’ and BIG lumps of rock hitting planet earth more frequently nowadays, you really can see why people are starting to perhaps believe that the world is going to end!
One of the extreme thoughts about recent events in Iran, is that Russia and the Iranian military PLANNED to shoot down a UFO, which “had been sent here to monitor Earth before it is destroyed at the end of September”. This may sound like a wild card theory, but perhaps there is more to meet the eye with this story – Don’t forget it took a long while for Iran to ‘Admit’ that a Meteor had broken up in the sky.

It is believed that Russian Forces and Iranian Forces are working together on some kind of a reconnaissance mission, ahead of some kind of an ‘Alien attack’ which is imminent – potentially Aliens looking to take over Planet Earth after some kind of ‘BIG’ event happens in September (sounds a little like a Hollywood movie doesn’t it!).
It has also been suggested that President Putin has demanded that the debris of the spacecraft is sent to Mother Russian, so that they can try and get an understanding of what technology the Alien beings are using to get here.
Obviously the majority of people around the world who have heard about this event, believe that this is just another meteorite and nothing else – The secrecy over this meteorite and the apparent Russian involvement is the two key areas which have left many people looking for further answers.

With UFO sightings doubling and strange natural disasters happening over the world, the perhaps the two go together and the ET’s are intrigued about some of the events happening on planet earth – BUT will they get involved or interfere in any way to either help us or hinder us, then time will only tell.
But if there is a sophisticated Alien Species watching over us and they can see how we are treating this planet and messing with things like the Large hadron Collider at CERN, then perhaps they will be more than happy to sit back and watch our destruction…

Former Defence Minister Says Governments Are Hiding Aliens
Paul Hellyer, who was the Canadian defence minister from 1963 to 1967, accuses world leaders of concealing information about the presence of aliens on Earth.
During the recent Disclosure Canada Tour, he urged world powers to release classified documents containing information about UFOs.
Last year, Hellyer told Russian TV that aliens are walking among us. He said they are refusing to share their advanced technologies until we change our polluting and warring ways.
Though skeptics dismiss Hellyer’s claims, he is highly regarded among alien and UFO enthusiasts as a primary witness or “insider,” having been Member of Parliament for many years and a former defense minister.
The Mail Online reports: Much of the media won’t touch [the documents]’, he said during a keynote speech at the Disclosure Canada Tour at the University of Calgary.
‘You just have to keep working away and hope that someday you get a critical mass,’ he said, according to a report by CTV.
‘[The public] will say, in one way or another, “Mr President or Mr Prime Minister we want the truth and we want it now because it affects our lives.”‘
Hellyer, 91, first went public with his belief in aliens on Earth in 2005, becoming the first high ranking politician to do so.
He claims that the aliens have ‘been visiting our planet for thousands of years’ and are unimpressed with how we live.
‘We spend too much time fighting each other, we spend too much money on military expenditures and not enough on feeding the poor and looking after the homeless and sick,’ he said.

A FORMER RAF engineer has sensationally claimed MI5 paid hoaxers to create fake crop circles to discredit genuine UFO sightings as part of a "Men in Black" cover up agenda.
David Clayton, who is an expert on crop circles and animal mutilations, both allegedly carried out by visiting aliens, told the UFO Truth Magazine international annual conference of a sinister plot by spooks to ensure the truth never gets out.
Mr Cayton told of seeing crop circles in the 1980s that could not have been made by hoaxers, and therefore must have been alien in origin, because the plants within the circle had not been flattened by physical force, but by heat.
There are many UFO believers who claim some crop circles are what is left after a flying saucer lands in a field.
Mr Clayton admitted that most crop circles that had been highlighted since the 1990s were fakes, but real ones had been found.
He claimed British intelligence agencies were behind the bulk of fake crop circles to make genuine research seem ridiculous.

He said: "MI5 were paying people to muddy the waters."
Gary Hestletine, a fellow Ufologist, who organised the event in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, said there had been a “deliberate policy” by the authorities to downplay or debunk any unexplainable activity.
He also criticised mainstream media for making light of the subject and said the community of believers is "tired of being ridiculed" for their legitimate beliefs.

Express.co.uk has contacted MI5 through the Home Office to put Mr Clayton's claims to it and awaits a response.

"The object went higher into the air and started to move pretty fast."
A rapidly moving, boomerang-shaped unidentified flying object (enlarged above) seen and videotaped above New York's Long Island is still confounding researchers, months after it was spotted.
The only eyewitness in this case reported it to the Mutual UFO Network, which investigates international UFO sightings. The incident (designated as Case 64777) remains listed as an unknown.
On April 17, the witness -- whose name isn't revealed -- was driving home around 10:30 p.m. in Port Jefferson, New York, and noticed an odd light in the sky.
"When I looked to my left, I noticed red and blue lights hovering. I stopped and watched for a little bit to see if it was just someone playing with a toy," the witness wrote in his report to MUFON.
"Then the object went higher into the air and started to move pretty fast. I then took out my phone and started to record for as long as I could till my phone died."
In the following video, the object can be seen accelerating from right to left, slowing down, stopping, blinking and then speeding up again to the left, slowing down again and eventually moving back swiftly in the other direction:
"Nobody else filed a report about this thing in Port Jefferson. It's a highly populated residential area and we have a lot of interesting things in the sky, with both Kennedy and LaGuardia airports just a few minutes away by air, as well as Long Island's MacArthur Airport," said MUFON New York field investigator Joseph Flammer.

"One of my main thoughts was that it could have been a drone -- something that somebody sent into the air and the witness might not have suspected that it was a drone," Flammer told The Huffington Post. "There are a couple of large parking fields along Port Jefferson [pictured below] where somebody might have, if so inclined, taken a drone and put it into the air."

Marc Dantonio agrees with the drone possibility. As MUFON's chief photo and video analyst, he's investigated hundreds of cases where drones were the most likely explanation for UFO reports.
"I looked at the video and found there is no reliable way to determine the object's range. This presents us with a problem in determining the nature of the object," Dantonio told HuffPost in an email. "That said, it could be a small object up close, which would put this as a small radio controlled drone or plane. We can't ignore this possibility."
Back in 2011, when drones were just beginning to seep into the public's consciousness, Dantonio -- whose company, FX Models, creates special models for the U.S. Navy, Congress and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, D.C. -- built a sophisticated drone (pictured at the beginning of the slideshow below) used in a National Geographic Channel special, "The Truth Behind: UFOs."

"The [Port Jefferson] object moves with characteristics illustrating level flight, which is actually typical of a person flying a craft at night," Dantonio said. "There is a curious behavioral trait that people with radio control experience tend to fly in level flight when unsure of the terrain.
"That's not to say it isn't a true unknown -- I am just saying that it is explainable in human terms."
