NASA perplex door mysterieuze patronen van 8.000 jaar oud in Kazachstan - HLN.be

NASA heeft een reeks satellietbeelden vrijgegeven van gigantische patronen in Kazachstan. De Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie hoopt het mysterie van de enorme structuren op de grond via luchtfoto's eindelijk te kunnen oplossen. Dat meldt The Independent.

Er zijn zo'n 260 'tekeningen' aangetroffen in de steppe van Kazachstan. Wetenschappers hebben er momenteel geen idee van hoe de immense formaties, ook wel geogliefen genoemd, ontstonden. Het zijn inkervingen en hoopjes aarde die samen een geheel vormen. De oudste tekeningen zijn naar schatting 8.000 jaar oud.

De patronen werden in 2007 voor het eerst gespot via Google Earth door een Kazachse enthousiasteling. Nadat Dmitriy Dey naar een tv-programma over piramides op Discovery Channel had gekeken, wilde hij onderzoeken of er ook in Kazachstan dergelijke constructies bestonden. Toen ontdekte hij de vreemde structuren. 

Ondanks dat men nu al tien jaar van hun bestaan afweet, heeft de Kazachse overheid weinig ondernomen om ze aan nader onderzoek te onderwerpen. NASA opent nu de jacht om het raadsel te ontrafelen.

De satellietbeelden die de ruimtevaartorganisatie voor het eerst liet maken, moeten helpen om de patronen te catalogeren. Het gebied waar de formaties zich situeren, werd tijdens het stenen tijdperk aangedaan door stammen die er wilden jagen. Maar wetenschappers gingen er vroeger vanuit dat die toenmalige populatie niet de tijd had om dergelijke structuren te bouwen of uit te graven. Misschien moet die denkwijze grondig worden herbekeken. 

Het is vooralsnog onduidelijk of de geogliefen een vroege kunstvorm waren of een praktische functie hadden. Sommigen speculeren dat de structuren werden gebruikt om de zon te observeren, op dezelfde manier zoals dat gebeurde in Stonehenge. De tijd zal uitwijzen of de patronen hun geheimen op termijn volledig prijsgeven.

UFO Cloaked In Clouds Over Cape Town, South Africa On Nov 7, 2015, UFO Sighting News.

These are a fleet of UFOs hiding inside of their self made clouds. Its a well known fact that UFOs have been recorded (US military record) creating clouds around themselves in just under 1 minute. 

Back in 1957 a solider at Fort Belvoir recorded such an incident. Click here to view his photos. Just clouds...LOL, I think not. 

My biggest UFO sighting was 20 years ago when I was in Rapid City, SD. It was 25+ 727 size Glowing UFOs at noon, traveling down cloud tunnels that started over our parking lot and disappeared over the horizon. I got to see the UFOs begin their journey. They used four side by side cloud tunnels to hide in.

(CNN) If the lights seen on Saturday night in Los Angeles weren't enough, another brilliant show was seen in the skies above Cape Town, South Africa the next day. Residents of Cape Town saw brilliant and beautiful cloud formations in the daytime sky on Sunday. Just like Los Angelenos, some compared what they saw to UFOs.
"There were just these massive UFO type clouds and they became more defined as time passed," said Monique Jackson. (More at source).

A new anomaly was discovered in a scan of a pyramid in Egypt this week. This anomaly is three very energy filled objects at the bottom of the pyramid. This could be the evidence we need to prove that it was created by ancient aliens and that they pyramid is more that a spectacle to look at.

Weeks of scanning the Pyramids of Giza has begun to pay off, new impressive anomalies were found by Egypt’s Antiquities Ministry announced Monday. Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el-Damaty and technical experts working on the project showed the higher temperature being detected in three specific adjacent stones at the bottom of the pyramid in a live thermal camera presentation to journalists. The scanning showed “a particularly impressive one (anomaly) located on the Eastern side of the Khufu pyramid at ground level,” the ministry said in a statement. The Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering what is now El Giza, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.

UFO in Houston spotted in sky over 'Be Someone" sign, Nov 10, 2015, UFO Sighting News.

Sure this one is short, but the detail is really good. The cloaked UFO is moving over traffic, but is accidentally seen when the reflection of the streetlights below it cause trouble with the cloak. For a cloak to work, light source needs to be behind it. If its both, it will be revealed. Click here for video.

New states:
A six-second video clip taken near downtown Houston shows some unexplained white lights that many commenters attributed to a UFO. A Twitter post from Monday evening included the video taken from southbound Interstate 45, approaching downtown. The account holder, @lm_Raddd, said he was taking a picture of the railroad bridge that displays the painted message, "Be Someone," and didn't notice the strange lights until a couple hours later. I thought that was a person in a parachute at first but then wtf would they be doing by I-45 Whether the comments, particularly the worried shrieks in all caps, are serious is a matter of interpretation, but the odd appearance at least got a lot of people's attention. Some commenters attributed the lights to a reflection of the car's speedometer or a building on the skyline.

Two huge UFOs flying over Kentucky 10-Nov-2015

Here’s one interesting sighting of a two huge unidentified flying objects slowly flying across the night sky above Kentucky. This was recorded on Tuesday, 10th November 2015.

Witness report: ok, i was watching the night sky with my night vision device when i noticed 2 bright objects moving slowly across the night sky then soon i realized it was 3 ufos in a triangular formation and after a couple of minutes a fourth ufo got too close to the formation and then they started to glow really bright i was able to see them with my own eyes and it was an amazing sight to see. I uploaded the video on youtube just type in “huge triangular ufo formation-amazing!!!” and you’ll see it. After that sighting i was able to record more ufo traveling in pairs , i mean it was a very active night.

Who Built the Great Sphinx of Egypt 800,000 years ago? A look inside Pre-Pharaonic Egypt

According to a study presented at the International Conference of Geoarchaeology and Archaeomineralogy held in Sofia titled: GEOLOGICAL ASPECT OF THE PROBLEM OF DATING THE GREAT EGYPTIAN SPHINX CONSTRUCTION, the enigmatic and mysterious Sphinx of Egypt is around 800,000 years old. This fact raises more question than answers and proves we have very little knowledge about our actual history which has proven to be far more mysterious and surprising than what mainstream scholars suggested. The Great Sphinx of Egypt is an ancient construction that has baffled researchers ever since its discovery and until today, no one has been able to accurately date the Sphinx, since there are no written records or mentions in the past about it.

According to the authors of the paper, arguments based upon geological studies suggest the enigmatic monument predates everything we know about Ancient Egypt and history. Manichev Vjacheslav I. and Alexander G. Parkhomenko focus on the deteriorated aspect of the body of the Sphinx, leaving aside the erosive features where the Sphinx is located, which had been studied previously by other authors and researchers. Manichev and Parkhomenko firmly believe that the Sphinx had to be submerged for a long time under water and, to support this hypothesis, they point towards existing literature of geological studies of the Giza Plateau. According to these studies at the end of the Pliocene geologic period (between 5.2 and 1.6 million years ago), seawater entered the Nile valley and gradually creating flooding in the area. This led to formation of lacustrine deposits which are at the mark of 180 m above the present level of the Mediterranean Sea.

This mysterious dating of the Sphinx forces to ask many questions that many people will embrace skeptically. If the Sphinx is in fact 800,000 years old as the geological study suggest, who built the enigmatic monument nearly one million year ago? Are we looking at evidence that points to the existence of an unknown civilization to history? Is it possible that an ancient advanced civilization inhabited the Giza Plateau in the distant past, before the ‘creation’ of the ancient Egyptian civilization? And if this civilization did develop on the shores of today’s River Nile… Is it possible than other advanced civilization developed elsewhere on our planet hundreds of thousands of years ago? A time in our history where mainstream scholars suggest people were still living in caves.

Obviously there is something wrong with our views on history and prehistory. There are numerous enigmatic findings that firmly push against the mainstream views and theories of today’s historians and scholars.

So who could have built the incredible ancient monument when History is telling us that people were still living in caves…?

This majestic monument was carved from a single block of stone, yet there are no written documents that could tell us much about its origin or purpose. The only “written” evidence that exists from ancient times about the sphinx is that of Greek historian and geographer Herodotus, who does not mention that the pharaohs of the fourth dynasty (Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure) were the builders of the Sphinx, nor the Pyramids of Giza.

According to Edgar Cayce, the ‘other’ Nostradamus, the Great Sphinx of Egypt is much older than mainstream researchers suggest, and is closely related to Atlantis, one of the most searched-for ancient civilizations. According to a vision of Cayce, deep inside the enigmatic figure of the Sphinx, a library of great knowledge can be found.  Details and texts that contain valuable information about the lost continent of Atlantis, what happened there at the time the Sphinx was built, and chronicles about the destruction of the continent? Even though Cayce ‘theory’ was never proven to be true, numerous findings made by researchers in the past point towards the fact that Cayce was wrong in his vision.

Is it possible that the Great Sphinx was in fact built by the ‘lost’ civilization of Atlantis? And if the great Sphinx is product of their incredible masonry skills, what about the Pyramid of the Giza Plateau? Is it possible that these incredible monuments are also the product of a civilization that predates the ancient Egyptian civilization?

According to writings on the ‘Inventory Stella’:

He restored the statue, all covered in painting, of the guardian of the atmosphere, who guides the winds with his gaze.

He replaced the back part of the Nemes head-dress, which was missing with gilded stone
The figure of this god, cut in stone, is solid and will last to eternity, keeping its face looking always to the East”

In the Book the Dawn of Civilization, Maspero says: “… the Sphinx could have existed since the days of the” followers of Horus “, a race of predynastic and semi-divine beings, which, according to beliefs of the ancient Egyptians had ruled thousands of years before the Pharaohs of Egypt”. (source)

The Ancient Egyptians viewed the origins of their civilization in an alternative view very different to our views of their civilization today. They believed that thousands of years before Pharaohs ruled over the land of Egypt divine beings ruled the land and to support their views we can look at the royal canon displayed at the museum of Egyptology in Turin, Italy. The ancient text, written in hieroglyphics presents a list of all the Pharaohs who ruled the land of Ancient Egypt. On that list we can see the historical Pharaohs and those that are considered as “divine”, Pharaohs that came from ‘elsewhere’ and ruled before the first dynasty of Menes, a preceding lineage that ruled for over 13,000 years.

The fact that we now know that the Great Sphinx of Egypt is far older than previously thought takes us to another journey where we have to question the historical facts about ancient Egypt and its enigmatic rulers. Our knowledge of Pre-Pharaonic Egypt has been a great enigma for historians and scholars and it is still a mystery as to what really happened during the mysterious period in history prior to 3000 BC, where we see the ‘first’ Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt known as Menes-NArmer.  After that, in the next couple of decades Ancient Egypt blossomed as a civilization with surprising feats and knowledge displaying perfect writing, building incredible temples and proving their incredible knowledge in astronomy, mathematics and other sciences.

English Egyptologist Toby Wilkinson said “They seem to have no ancestors or periods of development, they seem to have appeared overnight.” (source)

But many others had very interesting things to say about the enigmatic period of time in Ancient Egypt. Gaston Maspero (1846-1916) said:  “The religion and the texts which made it known to us were already established before the first dynasty. What do we know about Ancient Egypt, the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx? It seems that the more we know the less we understand, and I believe in order to fully process all the information that ancient texts are providing us, we need to change the way we look at history and prehistory, only then will we be able to understand the truth behind one of the most enigmatic ancient civilizations in history and their heritage to society.

Egypt before Pharaohs: When Gods ruled the Earth

• According to Plutarch: “Ra departed to the heavens and Osiris became pharaoh of Egypt with Isis and they built Thebes [the present Luxor]”.

Have you ever wondered about Pre-Pharaonic Egypt and its rulers, not according to mainstream scholars but according to ancient texts written thousands of years ago? In Ancient Egypt, long before the first ‘mortal’ Pharaoh known as Menes-Narmer ruled over the lands of Egypt there were other kings, deities and  “those who came from above” who ruled over the land known as Egypt today. This time in history, the pre-pharaonic period remains as a great enigma for most scholars and Egyptologist, mostly because they cannot accept that what is written since it goes directly against the beliefs of most historians, archaeologists and Egyptologists. The time before 3000 BC, the date when the first official Pharaoh appeared in Egypt is a great enigma.

It is not a secret that the ancient Egyptians consider their civilization as the legacy of Gods who came not from Earth but from elsewhere in the cosmos, and Pre-Pharaonic Egypt seems to filmy back up this theory.

One of the most important ancient texts that can tell us more about this time in history is the Papyrus of Turin which lists all the Pharaohs who ruled over Ancient Egypt.

Not only does this list include all of the ‘official’ historic Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, it also includes the deities or “Gods” who came from above and reigned over the lands of Egypt before the first mortal Pharaoh of Egypt with a lineage that spreads over 13,000 years. It is a great enigma why mainstream scholars consider this ancient text as pure myth and why most details of the ancient text have been overlooked and omitted from the history books.

There are some researchers who believe that by calculating the decrypted information obtained from the papyrus of Turin, we obtain the initial period, referred to as the kingdom of Ptah, creator and first ruler of ancient Egypt, dating back 39,000 years.

Egyptology, and the official historiography tells us that everything to the pre-dynastic era is regarded as a myth, without much historical value.

The Palermo stele is another incredible ancient text that mentioned the pre-dynastic rulers of Ancient Egypt. This ancient Stele even makes reference to Egyptian God Horus, suggesting that he was a physical ruler of the Ancient Egypt thousands of years ago. Another Egyptian God, Thoth is said to have reigned over the lands of Ancient Egypt from 8670 to 7100 BC. Interestingly, Egyptian High Pries Manetho, who had access to unlimited ancient texts from the Ancient Library of Alexandria, and who wrote for the Pharaoh the history of Ancient Egypt in 30 volumes makes reference to the divine beings that ruled during Pre-Pharaonic Egypt. If you look at today’s Egyptologists, you will find out that they too make use of Manetho’s dating considering it as a very reliable tool when studying the officially recognized dynasties, yet for some mysterious reason, the same Egyptologists have decided to avoid anything related to Pre-historic dynasties, carefully selecting certain details and adopting them as their own while rejecting anything that does not fit into their view of history.

We can trace back the rulers of Egypt in a series of ancient “Royal Lists”. The Royal List of Abydos for example, located on the wall of the Temple of Sethos I in Abydos offers us a chronological order of seventy-six rulers of ancient Egypt that range from Menes to Sethos I. In addition to this list we have the Royal List of Karnak which can be found in Louvre, which has sixty-one rulers, ranging from Menes to Tuthmoisis III. These two list offer us insight into the tradition of Upper Egypt. The Royal list of Sakkara displays forty-seven kings previous to, and including, Ramses II. (source)

More important than any of the above mentioned is the Turin Papyrus: This ancient text written in hieratic on the verso of the papyrus, with accounts of the time of Ramesses II. on the recto (which gives the approximate date, c. 1200 B.C.). In its original state the papyrus must have been an artistically beautiful exemplar, as the script is an exceptionally fine one. It contains the names of kings in order, over 300 when complete, with the length of each reign in years, months, and days ; and as the definitive edition of the papyrus has not yet been issued, further study is expected to yield additional results.^ The papyrus begins, like Manetho, with the dynasties of gods, followed by mortal kings also in dynasties. The change of dynasty is noted, and the sum of the reigns is given: also, as in Manetho, several dynasties are added together, e.g. ” Sum of the Kings from Menes to [Unas] ” at the end of Dynasty V. The arrangement in the papyrus is very similar to that in the Epitome of Manetho. (source)

Manetho provides us with a number of interesting details about the so-called “divine” rulers of Ancient egypt and their dynasties which he divides into three different categories: The Gods, Heroes and “Manes” but many other authors, Eusebius, bishop of Caesarea in Palestine, and Syncellus speak of a lineage of Gods who reigned on Earth for a total of 36,600 years. After this period of rule come the mortal Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.

The Mystery of the Nine Unknown Men

Humankind has always had a sort of fascination with the idea of secret societies. From the Freemasons to the Illuminati, there is a certain allure to the idea that behind the scenes of our everyday life there are powerful forces at work pulling the strings, privy to knowledge beyond our mainstream understanding, and with access to ancient secrets beyond our wildest dreams. They operate just under the surface of our civilization, their motives and aims enigmatic and inscrutable, working towards ends that we may never fully understand. One such alleged secret society concerns a shadowy group of nine mysterious men, formed in ancient India and charged with guarding ancient secrets and protecting us from the potentially destructive knowledge which we manage to glean from the mysteries of the universe. Operating in secrecy, they are spread throughout the world, silently watching and accruing ever more potent secrets, all the while hidden from our view. These are the Nine Unknown Men.

It was 237 BC and a bloody war was waging. In the aftermath of the massacres of Kalinga, haunted by the display of so many men brutally slain and the sight of so many smoldering homes and rotting corpses, Emperor Asoka decided to renounce the idea of trying to violently subjugate others, rather opting for a system of winning over the people through the observance of the laws of duty and piety; to integrate rather than destroy. He converted to Buddhism, and went about spreading this system of beliefs throughout the land, from Malaya, Ceylon and Indonesia, to Nepal, Tibet, China and Mongolia, even going so far in his desire to avoid blood that he preached vegetarianism and the avoidance of the slaughter of animals. Emperor Asoka also realized at the time that humankind was apt to use intelligence, as well as to put scientific and technological knowledge to evil use for the purpose of destruction. He vowed to create a way in which all manner of technological secrets and discoveries of mankind would be kept protected from the gaze of those who would use them for the purposes of annihilation and death, in order to protect mankind from those who would use scientific knowledge to put it into peril and bring about the downfall of all society.

To this end, he formed a secret society tasked with keeping the accumulated knowledge which could be used for destruction safe from those who would misuse it, and to further pursue research and knowledge that would benefit mankind instead of destroy it. It was Emperor Asoka’s desire that all new technology be hidden away forever from those who would use it to nefarious ends. Thus was the Nine Unknown Men born. Nine trusted disciples of science were chosen and each entrusted with a book containing all of mankind’s accumulated and ever growing knowledge in a certain field, which the holder of the book would add to, revise and perfect, and this duty would be passed down to the select chosen throughout the ensuing centuries. Some accounts even go as far as to suggest The Nine have unlocked the secrets of immortality and retain their position for eternity. There were to always be nine of them, no more and no less, and they were to remain obscured from the world at large and to avoid any and all dealings with politics or mainstream science, instead opting to remain hidden in the shadows. In order to conceal their communications, the Nine Unknown Men were said to speak in a synthetic language of their own devising and which was incomprehensible to anyone but themselves. They would serve as keepers and guardians of this hidden knowledge contained within the ever expanding books and observers of the world around them, to witness the rise and fall of whole civilizations yet to never interfere or play an active role in any of it except perhaps in times when mankind was in dire need of help.

The subjects of these nine mysterious books vary wildly, and cover a range of disciplines and knowledge, much of which we still do not possess today and would have been certainly unheard of at the time. The first deals with techniques of propaganda and psychological warfare, the science of manipulating mass opinions and sculpting the attitudes of society at large, which has long been thought to be among the most dangerous of sciences. The second deals with the subject of human physiology, an equally dangerous field outlining such things as how to create poisons, kill more efficiently, ways to manipulate pressure points, and indeed how to kill with a mere touch. The third book delves into the area of microbiology, with its vast potential to create and manipulate microbes that could save or wipeout mankind, as well as more beneficial microbes for medicinal purposes or purification. Some legends hold that the Ganges River is purified with microbes designed by the Nine Unknown Men with the use of this book. The fourth book is on the subject of alchemy, namely the transmutation of metals, a power which is used to explain the sudden influx of gold to some temples around the country from an unknown source in times of need. The fifth book delves into the subject of communication, strangely supposedly including methods for which to communicate with extraterrestrials, which would have been a fairly high concept notion in 237 BC at the least, and would suggest they knew of alien intelligences. The sixth book is all about the secrets of gravity, including the ways in which to make anti-gravity aircraft called Vimana, which are persistent in Indian myth throughout history and are sometimes called ancient UFOs of India. In the seventh book there is said to be a vast, exhaustive amount of information on cosmology and the workings of the universe, including allegedly the secrets of faster than light travel, how to bend space and time, travel between dimensions, and by some accounts even time travel. The eighth book is said to be about the nature of light, including increasing or decreasing its speed, bending it to one’s will, and using it to create weapons such as lasers. The ninth and final book is about sociology, and is said to include the immutable rules of the rise and fall of civilizations, as well as the secrets of how to predict the decline of society, and how to stop it or hasten it.

Although the knowledge of these books is supposedly kept totally secret from mankind, over the centuries there are said to have been leaks, which have gone on to account for a number of innovations throughout history. For instance, it is said that the secret of aeronautics and flight, using radiation to sterilize objects as well as produce the atomic bomb, pressure points or techniques used in various martial arts, and numerous medical breakthroughs, among others, were all the result of information from the nine books somehow leaking out or being released into the outside world. Indeed it has long been believed that the Nine Unknown Men intentionally release tidbits of information from their books on occassion in order to help mankind in times of great need, with such gifts from the mysterious cabal being allegedly the vaccines for cholera and plague. They are also said to sometimes reveal themselves to those who they deem to be wise and worthy in order to share portions of the secrets and information they have gathered over the centuries.

One notable case of knowledge from the alleged nine books seeping out into the world can be seen in the case of Pope Sylvester II, who was born as Gerbert d’Aurillac in 920 and was a Benedictine monk, a professor at the University of Rheims, the Archbishop of Ravenna, and Pope by the grace of Otho III. Pope Sylvester II spent some time in Spain before taking a trip to India for unknown reasons. Upon his return, he was said to have brought with him a variety of knowledge that was well ahead of its time and which puzzled those around him. Perhaps the most well-known of these displays of knowledge can be found in the story of bronze head constructed by the Pope in his palace, which purportedly had the ability to answer yes or no questions asked of it on a wide range of subjects and which absolutely astounded those who saw it in operation. Sylvester II claimed that it was merely a simple mechanical automaton akin to a primitive robot, but to those who saw it it was like magic. This was just one of the many astounding gadgets well ahead of their time that Sylvester II would construct over the years upon his return from India and it has often been speculated that he gained this knowledge somehow from one of the books of the Nine Unknown Men. Unfortunately, we will never know how the talking head worked or indeed whether it ever existed at all, because it was supposedly disassembled and destroyed when Sylvester II died, as were all of his other wondrous inventions. The talking bronze head and Sylvester’s vast technical knowledge were mentioned in a 1954 issue of Computers and Automation, in which it says:

• We must suppose that he (Sylvester) was possessed of extraordinary knowledge and the most remarkable mechanical skill and inventiveness. This speaking head must have been fashioned ’under a certain conjunction of stars occurring at the exact moment when all the planets were starting on their courses.’ Neither the past, nor the present nor the future entered into it, since this invention apparently far exceeded in its scope its rival, the perverse ’mirror on the wall’ of the Queen, the precursor of our modern electronic brain. Naturally, it was widely asserted that Gerbert was only able to produce such a machine because he was in league with the Devil and had sworn eternal allegiance to him.

Sylvester II is not the only one thought to have allegedly had some sort of contact with the Nine Unknown Men, and indeed others throughout history have been said to have been privy to their information, or to perhaps even been members amongst them. Some of the theorized names associated with gaining this secret knowledge are one of the most important figures in India’s space program, Vikram Sarabhai, as well as Jagdish Chandra Bose, who is considered to be one of the pioneering forces behind the rise of science in India, and the French chemist and microbiologist Louise Pasteur. In all of these cases, the innovations and genius they are known for were said to have been heavily influenced and informed by the secret knowledge kept by the Nine Unknown Men.

In modern times, the popularization of the Nine Unknown men perhaps first started in the late 19th century with the writings of the French writer Jacolliot, who was best known for writing works in the vein of Jules Verne, which in many cases uncannily predicted technological advances which would appear in later years. The author made mention of many concepts that were well ahead of their time at the time of publication, such as the concepts of the liberation of energy, sterilization by radiation, and psychological warfare. Jacolliot stated that the Nine Unknown Men did in fact exist, and this mention of advanced knowledge well before it was ever thought possible, although not concrete evidence of their existence, is certainly eerie. Another writer who further brought the Nine Unknown Men into the public consciousness was an author who had spent 25 years on the British police force in India by the name of Talbot Mundy, and whose book The Nine Unknown reveals many of the details concerning the secret society, such as their possession of the books of knowledge and the use of an artificial language known only to them. Other authors who would go on to write on the Nine Unknown Men include Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier, who would write of them in their book Morning of the Magicians. Yet for all of the myths, legends, and accounts of the Nine Unknown Men, there has never been any evidence that they truly exist, and they remain mere specters on the fringes of our understanding, perhaps secretly watching us or perhaps just a figment of the imagination.

Who are the Nine Unknown Men? Is this just a myth, with just enough historical reference to give it some facade of believability? Or are they really out there, entrusted with the most powerful knowledge mankind has ever seen, collected over thousands of years? Is so, who are they, where are they now, and what is there ultimate plan? Are they truly benign, or is there the potential of malevolence? Will we ever truly know the answer to these questions? We may never know if they really exist or not, and they would undoubtedly hope to keep it that way. Whether they really exist or not, the idea of a secret cabal of nine mysterious figures guarding the secrets of the universe is certainly a romantic notion. Maybe they are out there now, watching over us as they always have from the shadows, relentlessly collecting knowledge as they have for millennia and will for many more, guarding us from secrets we are no meant to know and saving us from ourselves in the process.

WHAT WAS AT THE ROOT OF RONALD REAGAN’S OBSESSION WITH ALIEN INVASION?

If you’ve been following Season Two ofFargo on FX, you’re probably aware of two overarching themes that seem bigger than the snowy towns of Luverne, Minnesota and Sioux Falls, South Dakota: aliens and Ronald Reagan. What you may not have realized, however, is that the two were related long before Noah Hawley adapted the Coen Brothers’ film of the same name to the small screen.

Before we delve into a Reagan-era mystery that has remained under the radar for the last 35 years, it might be worth noting Hawley’s accidental timeliness regarding discussion of extraterrestrial life. It’s as if the showrunner had an inkling UFOs would come zooming back into the zeitgeist upon his series’ Season Two return. Since Fargo‘s October 12, UFO-filled premiere, researchers have discovered a mysterious star emitting a bizarre light pattern — potentially caused by an alien structure — between constellations Cygnus and Lyra, while just this past Saturday, a strange, flying object was spotted over Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. Authorities concluded it was a naval test missile, but photos and video taken by local citizens across all three states show a definitive blue light emitting from the object’s tail, like something you’d see out of a movie (or in Fargo‘s case, on TV). But in addition to receiving endless praise as a “masterpiece” that’s “even better than Season One,”Hawley’s Coen-inspired anthology crime drama has also led some to wonder what the heck outer space has to do with the endless expanses of late ’70s era Midwest.

Hawley gave some hints about his inspiration for this season in a recent interview with Variety; he referenced how the country’s paranoia in the post-Watergate, post-Vietnam era led to both Reagan’s heroic election and America’s collective obsession with UFOs in the 1970’s. (Maybe it had something to do with the moon landing in ’69?) Other Coen followers, myself included, believe Hawley’s use of extraterrestrial motifs fit like glove with Coen-themed existentialism: that we are all just specs on an infinite map of existence.

Hawley also specifically mentions two films in the Coen canon, A Serious Manand The Man Who Wasn’t There —both of which contain mysterious, otherworldly themes— that he felt gave him license to explore this territory in his show. While we can’t wait to see how Hawley brings together the Gipper and the Green Men, what we want to explore a bit today does not take place in this fictional universe; rather, this is about how extraterrestrial life affected the policies of the 40th President of the United States.

While Reagan is perhaps best remembered as a God-fearing conservative, he was, in many ways, just as paranoid as the rest of us when it came to foreign invaders — and I’m not just talking about the Soviet Union. In fact, despite Cold War tensions between the United States and the USSR, Reagan made a point to meet with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to discuss more than just the banning of nuclear arms.

At a Geneva, Switzerland summit in 1985, President Reagan, who was an avid consumer of science fiction, asked Gorbachev if he were willing to put their countries’ differences aside in the wake of an alien invasion. Determined to have the world’s two superpowers ban together against mysterious extraterrestrials was as — if not more — important to Reagan as reaching an agreement that could end the Cold War. The history books even date Reagan’s alien-themed agenda as taking place before the Reykjavîk Summit in 1986, where the president and Gorbachev struggled to come to a decision to eliminate nuclear missiles. Thus, the vague characterization of Reagan inFargo (portrayed in future episodes by Bruce Campbell), juxtaposed against even vaguer elements of UFOs can’t simply be narrative coincidence.

Even before Reagan flew to Geneva to talk turkey with Gorbachev about outer space, he was said to have been obsessed with the work of Steven Spielberg, particularly 1977’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind and 1982’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The commander-in-chief even went so far as to host a private screening of E.T. at the White House where he allegedly made a comment to Spielberg about how “realistic” the director made his depiction of alien life.Conspiracy theorists even tout Spielberg’s confirmation that, after viewing the film, the former president stood up and looked around the room before thanking the director and stating, “There are a number of people in this room who know that everything on that screen is absolutely true.”

Whether or not you believe “This is a true story,” there’s no definitive way to conclude whether or not Reagan was onto something. One thing seems certain, though: the president wasn’t just trying to protect his country against nuclear threats, he was also trying to protect the world from foreign invaders. Perhaps sometime during the remaining episodes of Fargo this season, Noah Hawley will give us a taste of a young Reagan’s paranoia toward alien life, or maybe he’ll simply have his presidential character remain mystified by the eye in the sky, much like the rest of us.

The planet closest to our Solar System might have just disappeared

Alpha Centauri bb, an Earth-like planet orbiting our closest star, has just vanished. In fact, a new study suggests it never actually existed outside of a blip in the data.

The planet was discovered in 2012, and it was a pretty big deal at the time. According to researchers' best estimates, Alpha Centauri bb appeared to have a mass similar to Earth and was orbiting its star at a distance similar to Mercury.

Best of all, it was only 4.3 light-years away – a whole lot closer than most other Earth-like exoplanets – and existed in a star system that had housed the science-fiction characters of Avatar and Transformers.

But a year after its discovery, a separate group of researchers called the discovery into question, when they found only weak evidence that the planet existed. And now a new study suggests that Alpha Centauri bb was never more than a ‘ghost’ in the data. 

The research serves as a cautionary tale to astrophysicists hunting for evidence of planets orbiting distant stars, and reminds us of how hard it is to work out what’s going on using sporadic data taken from distant star systems.

Planets are usually detected in two ways, by scientists observing a dip in the light from a star – a sign of a planet orbiting in front of it – or by noticing a ‘wobble’ in a star, which suggests that it's being pulled around by a small planet in orbit.

The wobble system, formerly known as radial velocity method, is what was used to detect Alpha Centauri bb, and in the past it's been used to reliably identify a lot of larger planets.

But when we’re talking about planets as small as Earth, the new study shows that it can be incredibly challenging to distinguish a genuine signal from the background noise, especially if the star system isn’t being monitored constantly, as Alpha Centauri wasn’t.

The team, led by graduate student Vinesh Rajpaul from the University of Oxford, was able to show that subtle patterns of light caused by non-planetary happenings in the star system – for example, the pull of other stars or activity on the star’s surface – could be mistaken for a planet. 

They demonstrated this by creating a simulation of a star with no planet, and then observed it randomly. 

“When we generated synthetic data, the planet popped up exactly, even though there was no planet,” Rajpaul told National Geographic.

Xavier Dumusque from the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics in the US, who led the team that discovered Alpha Centauri bb, admitted that Rajpaul and his team have a point.

“This is really good work,” said Xavier. “We are not 100 percent sure, but probably the planet is not there.”

The research has been pre-released in ArXiv, and will soon be published in theMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. 

The good news is that most exoplanets won’t be at risk of this type of mistake, as they’ve been detected by Kepler, a spacecraft that stares constantly at one patch of sky for years, which means it’s unlikely to be tricked by background noise.

We just need to be more careful in future with the planets detected using telescopes here on Earth, and make sure that they’re the real thing, before we get too excited.

Residents in Cape Town probably thought they were about to be invaded by little green men when they spotted these UFO-shaped clouds in the sky.

They shouldn’t have been too worried however as there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for these spectacular cloud formations.

Instagram and Facebook feeds have been flooded with #nofilter images of the natural phenomena snapped over the picturesque South African port town on November 8.

"Right now above my head! The strangest most amazing UFO shaped clouds," wrote one Instagram user.

Investment officer Monique Jackson explained: "There were just these massive UFO type clouds and they became more defined as time passed.

Many more who posted pictures of the unusual cloud formations asked for information on what could have caused the UFO-shaped clouds.

Meteorologist Derek Van Dam explained they are fairly common clouds known as ‘stratocumulus standing’ (or Lenticular Clouds)

"They form when conditions are just right," he said. "Air flows along the surface of the earth and reaches some sort of obstruction like a mountain or valley. Probably in this case, Table Mountain, Signal Hill or even the Overberg Mountains upstream from Cape Town.

"The obstruction diverts the flow of the moving air which creates wind ‘eddies’. When this disrupted air flow has stable moist air within it, a series of large-scale standing waves can develop on the downwind side.

"Eventually the temperature at the peak of the wave drops to the dew point allowing for condensation and eventually your star-ship enterprise forms (lenticular clouds). Once the moist air flows back down into the back side of the wave, the cloud will evaporate and disappear."

UFO Drone’ Found on Mars is Proof of Ancient Civilization

Aliens exist, UFO hunters claimed after a new set of pictures of an identified object, which some said was none other than a UFO drone, were published on YouTube last Sunday, according to Inquisitr.com.

Although the pictures were first made a few years ago, the new set of pictures is enhanced to provide a more clear view of the unidentified object.The pictures, snapped by a NASA Mars rover, show an object that resembles a metallic piece of machinery lying in one of the craters in the Gale Crater region of Mars.

 

The photographic evidence shows that the object has an “intelligent design” and is a UFO drone, according to UFO hunter Paranormal Crucible.

 

 

“In my opinion this object is an extraterrestrial drone possibly built by the Indigenous Martian populace or perhaps it was deployed by an off world alien species who were exploring the Martian surface,” Paranormal Crucible said, as cited by Inquisitr.com.

 

Alright, so Mars was quite possibly home to “Indigenous” aliens or some other aliens sent a reconnaissance drone to scout around the planet. Go on and take a minute to settle these thoughts into your head, because from here theories get even more interesting.

 

Other UFO hunters argue that the object isn’t a UFO drone, but a piece of a much bigger alien spacecraft.

 

Although UFO hunters might disagree on the origin of the unknown object lying on the surface of Mars, they all agree that a long time ago ancient Martians had their own civilization that was destroyed by other hostile aliens who were even more technologically advanced. The hostile aliens showed up to Mars and wiped out the “Indigenous” Martians by bombing the entire planet with a series of powerful thermonuclear devices, according to US physicist Dr. John Brandenburg from the University of California, Inquisitr.com said.

Fossilized Ancient Brain Turns Paleontology on its Head

A UA researcher has provided the strongest evidence yet that it’s possible for brains to fossilize and, in fact, a set of 520-million-year-old arthropod brains have done just that

Science has long dictated that brains don’t fossilize, so when Nicholas Strausfeld co-authored the first ever report of a fossilized brain in a 2012 edition ofNature, it was met with “a lot of flack.”

“It was questioned by many paleontologists, who thought – and in fact some claimed in print – that maybe it was just an artifact or a one-off, implausible fossilization event,” said Strausfeld, a Regents’ professor in UA’s Department ofNeuroscience.

His latest paper in Current Biology addresses these doubts head-on, with definitive evidence that, indeed, brains do fossilize.

In the paper, Strausfeld and his collaborators, including Xiaoya Ma of Yunnan Key Laboratory for Palaeobiology at China’s Yunnan University and Gregory Edgecombe of the Natural History Museum in London, analyze seven newly discovered fossils of the same species to find, in each, traces of what was undoubtedly a brain.

The species, Fuxianhuia protensa, is an extinct arthropod that roamed the seafloor about 520 million years ago. It would have looked something like a very simple shrimp. And each of the fossils – from the Chengjiang Shales, fossil-rich sites in Southwest China – revealed F. protensa’s ancient brain looked a lot like a modern crustacean’s, too.

Using scanning electron microscopy, the researchers found that the brains were preserved as flattened carbon films, which, in some fossils, were partially overlaid by tiny iron pyrite crystals. This led the research team to a convincing explanation as to how and why neural tissue fossilizes.

In another recent paper in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B, Strausfeld’s experiments uncovered what it likely was about ancient environmental conditions that allowed a brain to fossilize in the first place.

The only way to become fossilized is, first, to get rapidly buried. Hungry scavengers can’t eat a carcass if it’s buried, and as long as the water is anoxic enough – that is, lacking in oxygen – a buried creature’s tissues evade consumption by bacteria as well. Strausfeld and his collaborators suspect F. protensa was buried by rapid, underwater mudslides, a scenario they experimentally recreated by burying sandworms and cockroaches in mud.

This is only step one. Step two, explained Strausfeld, is where most brains would fail: Withstanding the pressure from being rapidly buried under thick, heavy mud.

To have been able to do this, the F. protensa nervous system must have been remarkably dense. In fact, tissues of nervous systems, including brains, are densest in living arthropods. As a small, tightly packed cellular network of fats and proteins, the brain and central nervous system could pass step two, just as did the sandworm and cockroach brains in Strausfeld’s lab.

“Dewatering is different from dehydration, and it happens more gradually,” said Strausfeld, referring to the process by which pressure from the overlying mud squeezes water out of tissues. “During this process, the brain maintains its overall integrity leading to its gradual flattening and preservation. F. protensa‘s tissue density appears to have made all the difference.”

Now that he and his collaborators have produced unassailable evidence that fossilized arthropod brains are more than just a one-off phenomenon, Strausfeld is working to elucidate the origin and evolution of brains over half a billion years in the past.

“People, especially scientists, make assumptions. The fun thing about science, actually, is to demolish them,” said Strausfeld.

Unlocking the early fossil record of the arthropod central nervous system

Extant panarthropods (euarthropods, onychophorans and tardigrades) are hallmarked by stunning morphological and taxonomic diversity, but their central nervous systems (CNS) are relatively conserved. The timing of divergences of the ground pattern CNS organization of the major panarthropod clades has been poorly constrained because of a scarcity of data from their early fossil record. Although the CNS has been documented in three-dimensional detail in insects from Cenozoic ambers, it is widely assumed that these tissues are too prone to decay to withstand other styles of fossilization or geologically older preservation. However, Cambrian Burgess Shale-type compressions have emerged as sources of fossilized brains and nerve cords. CNS in these Cambrian fossils are preserved as carbon films or as iron oxides/hydroxides after pyrite in association with carbon. Experiments with carcasses compacted in fine-grained sediment depict preservation of neural tissue for a more prolonged temporal window than anticipated by decay experiments in other media. CNS and compound eye characters in exceptionally preserved Cambrian fossils predict divergences of the mandibulate and chelicerate ground patterns by Cambrian Stage 3 (ca 518 Ma), a dating that is compatible with molecular estimates for these splits.

Summary
The record of arthropod body fossils is traceable back to the “Cambrian explosion,” marked by the appearance of most major animal phyla. Exceptional preservation provides crucial evidence for panarthropod early radiation. However, due to limited representation in the fossil record of internal anatomy, particularly the CNS, studies usually rely on exoskeletal and appendicular morphology. Recent studies [ 1–3 ] show that despite extreme morphological disparities, euarthropod CNS evolution appears to have been remarkably conservative. This conclusion is supported by descriptions from Cambrian panarthropods of neural structures that contribute to understanding early evolution of nervous systems and resolving controversies about segmental homologies [ 4–12 ]. However, the rarity of fossilized CNSs, even when exoskeletons and appendages show high levels of integrity, brought into question data reproducibility because all but one of the aforementioned studies were based on single specimens [ 13 ]. Foremost among objections is the lack of taphonomic explanation for exceptional preservation of a tissue that some see as too prone to decay to be fossilized. Here we describe newly discovered specimens of the Chengjiang euarthropod Fuxianhuia protensa with fossilized brains revealing matching profiles, allowing rigorous testing of the reproducibility of cerebral structures. Their geochemical analyses provide crucial insights of taphonomic pathways for brain preservation, ranging from uniform carbon compressions to complete pyritization, revealing that neural tissue was initially preserved as carbonaceous film and subsequently pyritized. This mode of preservation is consistent with the taphonomic pathways of gross anatomy, indicating that no special mode is required for fossilization of labile neural tissue.

CAIRO (AP) — Two weeks of new thermal scanning in Egypt's Giza pyramids have identified anomalies in the 4,500 year-old burial structures, including a major one in the largest pyramid, the Antiquities Ministry announced Monday.

Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el-Damaty and technical experts working on the project showed the higher temperature being detected in three specific adjacent stones at the bottom of the pyramid in a live thermal camera presentation to journalists.

The scanning showed "a particularly impressive one (anomaly) located on the Eastern side of the Khufu pyramid at ground level," the ministry said in a statement. The largest of the three Giza pyramids is known locally as Khufu and internationally as Cheops.

The thermal scanning was carried out at all times of the day, including during sunrise, as the sun heats the structures from the outside, and then during sunset as the pyramids are cooling down. The speed of the heating and cooling phases is being used to uncover "hypotheses" such as empty areas in the pyramids, internal air currents, or different building materials used.

"The first row of the pyramid's stones are all uniform, then we come here and find that there's a difference in the formation," said el-Damaty, pointing at the three stones showing higher temperatures.

While inspecting the area, el-Damaty said they found "that there is something like a small passage in the ground that you can see, leading up to the pyramids ground, reaching an area with a different temperature. What will be behind it?"

Other heat anomalies were detected in the upper half of the pyramid that the experts said need to be investigated further.

El-Damaty invited all Egyptologists, especially those interested in ancient Egyptian architecture, to join in the research and help come up with ideas on what could be behind the anomalies.

The pyramids, located on the outskirts of Cairo, are one of the major tourist attractions in the country. The pyramids, which were used as sacred burial structures, were built in the fourth Pharaonic dynasty. The great pyramid is the oldest and only surviving monument of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

NASA Camera Catches Donut UFO Activity

Just a few days after viral reports about the U.S. space agency allegedly cut public live camera feed of a strange glowing orb, another sighting comes in. Online UFO hunters spotted a flying donut near the ISS and claimed that nearly every day alien flying craft visits the space station. They say that such shape is typical for UFOs near the ISS.

Online UFO enthusiasts suggest the black centre isn’t a hole, but a dark dome above the top of the disk. The object is believed to be tilted at an angle to the station for a better view.
Streetcap11 posted the video of the sighting to YouTube and said the mysterious circular object left before the others.

A separate video from the same uploader shows two bizarre UFOs caught on the ISS camera, one is a vertical shape much higher up in the orbit, and another is a horizontal just over the atmosphere of Earth. Streetcap11 said the vertical one, which flashed briefly in the raw footage, was moving very fast.

Sceptics would say that these anomalies can be explained as satellites, meteorites, or gases rather than alien craft. However, NASA typically doesn’t comment on such sightings, so these types of videos are likely to stay and continue.

Mysterieus warmteverschil op scan van piramides - HLN.be

Een internationaal team van architecten en wetenschappers heeft afwijkingen in temperatuur gevonden in vier piramides in het Egyptische Giza. Wat die warmteverschillen veroorzaakt, is nog onduidelijk.

Onder de noemer Scan Pyramidsbegon het team met leden uit Egypte, Frankrijk, Canada en Japan op 25 oktober met het scannen van diverse piramides in Giza. Met behulp van warmtecamera's hoopten ze verborgen kamers in de eeuwenoude bouwsels op te sporen. Na amper drie weken hebben ze nu een bijzondere ontdekking gedaan. Maar liefst vier van de onderzochte piramides bleken plekken te hebben met een afwijkende temperatuur. 

Hypotheses
De grootste afwijking werd gevonden in de Piramide van Cheops. Een paar stenen op grondniveau verschillen tot wel zes graden in temperatuur met de rest van de stenen. Ook in de bovenste helft van de piramide zijn plekken met een andere temperatuur gevonden. Experts noemen de aanwezigheid van lege ruimtes, interne luchtstromingen of het gebruik van verschillende materialen als mogelijke oorzaken. De onderzoekers buigen zich nu over de vraag welke van deze hypotheses de juiste is.

De vondst werpt een heel ander licht op de piramides. De Nederlandse ingenieur Robert Voûte, die nauw betrokken is bij de missie en momenteel een scanproject opzet in Luxor, vertelt: "We bekijken ze al duizenden jaren zeggend dat we ze kennen, maar uiteindelijk, vierduizend jaar later, realiseren we ons dat het tegenovergestelde waar is."

Naast het verder onderzoeken van de warmteverschillen in de gescande piramides gaat Scan Pyramids de komende maanden ook nog door met het scannen van andere piramides. Het project loopt nog tot het einde van 2016.

'Bergen op Pluto zijn ijsvulkanen' - HLN.be

De enorme bergen op dwergplaneet Pluto zijn mogelijk ijsvulkanen. Dat onthulde het team achter de Amerikaanse ruimtesonde New Horizons maandag op een bijeenkomst van de Amerikaanse Astronomenvereniging (AAS).

De sonde vloog eerder dit jaar langs Pluto en stuurt nog steeds informatie terug naar de aarde. Daaruit bleek dat op de dwergplaneet grote bergen te vinden zijn met laagtes op de top, zoals vulkanen op de aarde en Mars.

New Horizons-wetenschapper Oliver White noemde het bestaan van vulkanen op Pluto ,,het minst gestoorde idee waar we op konden komen'' toen werd gezocht naar een verklaring voor het verschijnsel. De vulkanen op Pluto zouden in plaats van lava bijvoorbeeld bevroren water, stikstof of ammoniak kunnen uitspuwen.
