UFOs Over Phoenix, Arizona On Feb 2016, Video, UFO Sighting News.
Date of sighting: February 2016 Location of sighting: Phoenix, Arizona, USA This is a cool catch. It took place where a legendary sighting occurred back in March of 1997, what was called the Phoenix lights. The smaller light seems to have fallen from the larger one. Like a drone coming out of a main ship, to observe more safely and close up. Scott C. Waring www.ufosightingsdaily.com Jason Hunter of Youtube states: This was sent to me by a viewer. Here is a UFO sighting happening right now in Phoenix. Viewer had to pull over to film in the darkness.
Don’t think UFO witnesses can be credible? Well one was credible enough to become President of the United States of America. Maybe that isn’t a great example, but Jimmy Carter did have a UFO encounter in Leary, Georgia, in 1969.
Herts Advertiser news desk revealed last week that a man in London Colney had seen some peculiar lights in the sky above St Albans at around 10.15pm on Sunday, August 29. He saw more than 10 of the objects over a short space of time and did not believe they were Chinese lanterns – which can often explain such UFO sightings – as they were travelling very fast and in a straight line. Rob Stichbury, who lives in the Roundwood Park area of Harpenden, saw something similar at around the same time that night.
He said: “The bright object was travelling extremely fast coming from the St Albans/Redbourn area. It seemed to be following the path of the Nicky Line and took less than 15 seconds to cover the horizon. “I only saw one and didn’t have time to get to the camera. Being a clear night it was instantly visible but certainly not a commercial plane as it was too large, bright and moving quite low and much faster than any other traffic. It disappeared in the direction of Luton Airport. Very strange indeed!” Ken Collins, of Salisbury Avenue, also reports seeing something strange in the sky travelling faster than the speed of aircraft heading towards Clarence Park that night.
Liz Gurgur, who lives in the Marshalswick area, said she saw exactly the same thing as the London Colney man earlier this summer as she was driving home one night. She said: “I thought it was unusual as they were all in a straight line, spaced apart equally and high up. I was amazed, especially since I was once watching this programme which said there was going to be a lot more UFO sightings and I laughed at it. “I’ve seen meteors before but this was different. If you imagine Christmas lights stringed up in a very straight line spaced equally apart, that’s what it looked like. But they were going quite fast at a constant speed, faster than a lantern or a kite. I’m sure there is a logical explanation for it but I don’t know what.”
Red lights Gill Welsman from Southdown, Harpenden, has reported another UFO sighting in mid-August. As she was driving past Harpenden Common, she said she became aware of red lights in the sky and when she arrived home she got out her binoculars to examine the lights further. She said: “I thought of hot air balloons but they were moving quicker. They were not as fast as a plane but travelling at helicopter speed. They weren’t as high as a plane, but well above the houses. “When I got home I was interested enough to go out and have a look and could still see them going across the sky. I got out my binoculars – they weren’t hot air balloons, but all I can say is they were like translucent oval shapes filled with quite a bright orange or red light. I must have seen at least 10 to 12 of them.”
Another person from Bernard’s Heath, who asked to remain anonymous, saw a similar occurrence on Saturday, September 4, at around midnight. The man reported hearing a faint thump and when he looked out the window to see where the noise had come from, he noticed what looked like a bright yellow/orange flame in the sky which moved at constant speed in the direction of Hemel Hempstead. More than 10 such lights followed, some travelling individually and others in small clusters. The man, who said he often looked at the sky before going to bed, said: “I have seen many things in the night sky but never anything like this.” Linda Lusby of Pondfield Crescent, St Albans, believes she may have a possible explanation for the string of recent sightings.
Along with her neighbours, she has been tracking the movements of the International Space Station and the times of her sightings correlate with what the London Colney resident described in last week’s paper. She said there had recently been a sighting practically every night for between one and four minutes over St Albans and that it was sometimes seen on more than one occasion. Mrs Lusby, who saw shooting stars at the same time one night, said: “It just suddenly appears very bright and moving across the sky, much bigger than any other star.”
To keep the frontal dimension to a minimum, we decided to put the pilot in a reclining position in our next project, so that he would remain within the wing contour. Transparent panels would be installed around the leading edge to provide visibility. The elevator system would be redesigned to avoid the reversal problems of the Ho I.
Few additional changes from the Ho I philosophy were planned, except to make it self-launching. We planned a tandem undercarriage with retractable front wheel, and steerable tail wheel.
The Ho II was also built in our home with some help from local glider club members, and a local motorcycle shop. It was ready after nine months, and taken to the Bonn-Hangelar airport in May 1935.
The first flight was made by towing it across the field at low altitude with a winch. We started with the c/g at the forward limit, and gradually moved it aft with trim weights. The aircraft remained docile, and fully controllable.
Although the problems with the "middle-effect" was not solved, the bell shaped lift distribution pattern used on the Ho II, had enabled us to make a large step forward with the stability and controllability of the flying wing. The landing gear was not entirely successful. The ground roll was unstable with the steerable tail wheel, and there was no shock absorber in the nose strut. The whole undercarriage was modified later. The unfamiliar reclining position, so popular in modern sailplanes, was not a good solution. It was difficult to see out while circling, and during slow flight, the pilots feet would be above the horizon, and higher than his head. Still, we did not make any changes to the cockpit, in order to better study the "middle-effect".
We were able to borrow a 60 HP Hirth engine, and after a three month long modification program, we were able to take off on our own. We had calculated that only 20 HP was needed for takeoff; the excess power of the Hirth engine allowed it to accelerate to 180 km by the time it reached the far end of the runway. The Ho II would climb to 3000 feet in two and a half minute.
The engine was sometimes shut down in flight to explore the aircraft's soaring capability. In such cases, the aircraft was landed without power, since the engine could not be restarted in flight.
The drag rudders were rarely used, since the absence of adverse yaw permitted coordinated turns with the ailerons alone.
Flying the Ho II was easy, and it was much used for practice flights by inexperienced pilots. I used it myself, to obtain my glider rating. Walter lost the propeller at low altitude, during a demonstration before representatives of the Air Ministry, but proceeded to make a routine landing, and roll to a stop before the hangar. A very convincing demonstration, we thought.
Our experiments with the "Habicht" was terminated when the borrowed engine had to be returned. In 1937 we modified the wing tips in an attempt to prove that the induced drag at the wing tip became negative with the bell shaped lift distribution pattern. The wing tips would move fore and aft, pivoting around a 45 offset hinge on the main spar, and serve as elevons. The system was never tried in flight.
For an unbiased report on the handling of a Ho II, here is a summary of Hanna Reitsch's impressions after flying the D-11-187 near Berlin in November 1938:
"This report does not reflect the many improvements on the later Horten models.
Comfort: Mediocre visibility: Poor entry/exit: Athletes only instrument panel: Fair gear operation: Only possible for long armed pilot's* steering friction: Unacceptable takeoff: Stick all the way back to break ground landing: Simple, with good glide path control stability: Difficult to assess, since the stick remains where it is put due to friction pitch response: Normal roll control: Unfriendly, some flutter in turbulence. The drag rudders are very sensitive, and moves the aircraft around both the roll and yaw axis. The harmony between the controls are poor. Drag rudder had to be used continuously during circling, and correct bank is difficult to establish*. Sideslip: Impossible stall/spin: No combination of control inputs could make a wing drop, with the stick all the way back, the speed stabilizes at 55 MPH or less in a gentle mush."

SIX Mysterious Bright Orbs Hover In The Sky Over Hythe UK – They Are WATCHING Us!
SIX Mysterious Bright Orbs Hover In The Sky Over Hythe UK – They Are WATCHING Us!
SIX mysterious bright ORBS have been witnessed circulating over Hythe and Folkestone, which many believe in the area that there are now unknown UFOs present around the Kent coast in England UK.
This strange sighting has left experts baffled and the Ministry of Defence, which runs training ranges nearby, have denied any involvement. One quite possible explanation for the phenomenon had been that these were military flares sent up to illuminate a mock battlefield, BUT intriguingly an MoD spokesman said there were NO military exercises taking place at the time – many witnesses in the area confirmed that these were no flares and appeared to be huge Orb- Like objects which streaked around the sky above them.
A Kent Unidentified Flying Objects Research Group spokesman said:
“The coastlines around East Kent and South Kent are major UFO areas.
“The towns in these areas have large amounts of UFO sightings on a continual basis.
“People are observing UFOs over the Thames Estuary and the English Channel all the time. UFO sightings in these areas have increased dramatically in the past few years.”
A similar event happened back in 2014 when 29-year-old Matt Law was driving back towards the Kent village of Dymchurch, when suddenly a string of UFO lights appeared in the sky in front of his car. As he got closer, they remained stationary and when he opened his window there was no sound from them. Bewildered, he said he watched the lights eventually fly off and disappear as if in some kind of controlled manner!
“I’m not saying it was a flying saucer – I’m a bit of a sceptic – but it was NO plane or helicopter,” he said.
U.I.P SUMMARY – The UK (my homeland) appears to be a bit of a hotbed of activity for UFO sightings, especially of these multi-coloured ORBS which are also being witnessed all over the world – in fact the Orbs are probably one of the main UFO sightings seen here in the UK at the moment – please see some of our reports below:

Is Blowing up an Asteroid With a Bomb Really a Good Idea?
Is Blowing up an Asteroid With a Bomb Really a Good Idea?

NASA
IN BRIEF
Russian scientists recently announced that they plan to send bombs to space to blow up asteroids, but what are the consequences if things go wrong?
Attacking Space
Recently, in a rather shocking announcement, Russian scientists announced they plan to shoot down space rocks. Or to be more literal, they want to blow up asteroids using Cold War-era missiles.
According to Russian state-owned news agency TASS, scientists want to retrofit intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) to target asteroids ranging in size from 20 to 50 meters that are at a dangerous proximity to Earth. The goal would be to deflect the space rocks, or destroy them, so that they cannot cause damage to our planet or its cities.
Though small, these asteroids can still cause significant damage and are sometimes only detected by observatories a few hours in advance of reaching Earth. In fact, sometimes, they aren’t detected at all.
Case in point, back in 2013, a 20-meter-wide meteor appeared in the sky over Chelyabinsk, Russia, shattering glass in buildings and leaving over 1,000 people injured. A 355-yard asteroid, dubbed Apophis, is expected to come close to Earth, and Russian scientists would like to test the plan on this asteroid.
Is it Really Necessary?
You may think larger asteroids are the threat, and where we should be focusing our attention, but according to Jason Kessler, the director of NASA’s efforts to find all asteroid threats, NASA calculates it has “discovered about 95% of the one kilometer or larger asteroids.” Also, if we eventually want to be able to tackle a larger global-killer, we will need to start with something small.
To that end, it is good that Russia has a plan in place, but are missiles appropriate?
For example, instead of blowing up the space rocks, NASA and the ESA plan to “shove them” away from the planet. This sounds a little less worrisome for a number of reasons.
To clarify, ICBM’s are the long range nukes that the USSR and USA had pointed at each other during the Cold War (in fact, they still have some pointed at each other). Russian scientists argue that typical rockets are not good candidates for seizing asteroids because they require too much lead time to meet an asteroid that might be detected only days before impact. And true enough, typical payload rockets take several days to fuel. On the other hand, ICBM’s can be launched at a moment’s notice.
The only setback for the Russian scientists are the costs of upgrading these ICBM’s to be asteroid killers.
Yet, Henry Melosh, an astrophysics professor at Purdue University, said that the Russian plan is “misguided and potentially dangerous.” In fact, there is a ban on nuclear explosions in space. Paul Miller, associate division leader of the Design Physics Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, added, “We know of no interest in the U.S. in repurposing ICBMs” and questioned their use in preventing asteroid impacts. Miller also said that, as these detection asteroid surveys improve, “they should provide decades of warning. In that case, a ready-to-launch capability is unnecessary.”
NASA is not saying much other than emphasizing their non-nuclear approach.
The major question, however, is what if something went wrong? For example, what if an explosion went off in low-Earth orbit? Radioactive material would be spread throughout the atmosphere with drastic consequences for the life below.
And even if it didn’t go off in orbit, and managed to reach its target, things could still go wrong. Astrometry expert Tatiana Galushina told The Independent: “Previously, as a preventive measure, it was proposed to destroy the asteroid on its approach to our planet, but this could lead to catastrophic consequences – a fall to Earth of the majority of the highly radioactive fragments.”
Galushina also pointed out that using nuclear weapons in space is against the terms of the Outer Space Treaty. However, she believes that in the case of a “real threat to humankind,” an exception to the rule would be made.
The atoms in the new structure are arranged in a hexagonal pattern as in graphene, but that is where the similarity ends. The three elements forming the new material all have different sizes; the bonds connecting the atoms are also different. As a result, the sides of the hexagons formed by these atoms are unequal, unlike in graphene.
IN BRIEF
Scientists are asserting that this new discovery could potentially upstage the world's greatest wonder material, graphene.
One-Atom Thick
What could be better than a material that’s super flexible, only one atom thick, and is 200 times stronger than steel? A material that’s equally strong and flexible, also only one atom thick, and inexpensive.
Scientists are asserting that this new discovery could potentially upstage the world’s greatest wonder material, graphene.
A physicist from the University of Kentucky is now working with scientists from Daimler in Germany as well as the Institute for Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL) in Greece to create a new material made from elements such as silicon, boron, and nitrogen. These building blocks mean that the material will be less expensive, more stable, and ultimately better than graphene—in theory, at least.
“We used simulations to see if the bonds would break or disintegrate – it didn’t happen,” said Madhu Menon, a physicist in the UK Center for Computational Sciences. “We heated the material up to 1,000 degree Celsius and it still didn’t break.”
It sounds impressive, but to date, the material hasn’t actually been made. It only exists on computer simulations; however, scientists are working to rectify this now.
Theoretical Computations
Menon, Ernst Richter (from Daimler) and Antonis Andriotis (from IESL) have used state-of-the-art theoretical computations to demonstrate the feasibility of creating a one-atom thick, 2D material made from the aforementioned Earth-abundant elements, and the material could have possible applications beyond what graphene can currently do.
To clarify, graphene, for all its potential, has a big downside: It isn’t a semiconductor and, as a result, has very limited application in digital technology.
This led scientists to continue working on finding alternative materials, and that led to the discovery of three-layer materials known as transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), which can be used to to make digital processors. Unfortunately, while they can process more efficiently, they are thicker and not so abundant on Earth.
“We know that silicon-based technology is reaching its limit because we are putting more and more components together and making electronic processors more and more compact,” Menon said. “But we know that this cannot go on indefinitely; we need smarter materials.”
The calculations that studied the possibility of this new material were made on computers at the UK Center for Computational Sciences. The next step is to now to produce the same results the computer tests generated in a lab setting…and of course, actually make the material.
“We are very anxious for this to be made in the lab,” Menon said. “The ultimate test of any theory is experimental verification, so the sooner the better!”
"The Martian" was left stranded without any Oscars on Sunday night (Feb. 28) at the 88th Academy Awards.
Ridley Scott's science fiction film about a NASA astronaut (Matt Damon) being left for dead on Mars received seven nominations — including Best Picture and Best Actor — but ended the evening with no wins.
"It's pretty cool just to be nominated," wrote Andy Weir, author of the book on which the "The Martian" is based, in a post on Facebook. "Slowly but surely, science fiction is worming its way into popular culture and mainstream entertainment. I'm proud to be a small part of that." [Photos from 'The Martian': Matt Damon on 'Mars']
Still, it was other science fiction and dramatic films that ultimately brought home the Oscars.
Drew Goddard, who wrote the screenplay for "The Martian" based Weir's book, lost out to Charles Randolph and Adam McKay for "The Big Short." Visual effects artists Richard Stammers, Anders Langlands, Chris Lawrence and Steven Warner, who transformed Jordan into the Red Planet, were passed over in favor for team behind "Ex Machina."
Paul Massey, Mark Taylor and Mac Ruth, whose sound mixing on "The Martian" was recognized with a nomination, and Oliver Tarney, who was similarly honored for sound editing, lost to the sound engineers on "Mad Max: Fury Road." The same was true for "Martian" production designers Arthur Max and Celia Bobak.
Damon, who played Ares III crewmember Mark Watney, lost to a different type of frontiersman, Leonardo DiCaprioin "The Revenant," for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
And it was "Spotlight," about the real journalists who uncovered systemic child sex abuse in the Catholic church, that won the Academy Award for Best Picture, over the "The Martian."
The only other space-related film to be nominated this year, the animated short "We Can't Live Without Cosmos," was also left without an Oscar — the Academy Award going to "Bear Story." Directed by Konstantin Bronzit, "Cosmos" follows two cosmonauts and friends who try to do their best in their everyday training life to make their common dream a reality.
The evening, however, was not completely devoid of happy space-themed moments.
Josh Singer, who with Tom McCarthy was the writing team behind the film "Spotlight," won for best original screenplay. Singer is now working on the script for Universal Studios' Neil Armstrong biopic, based on historian James Hansen's biography "First Man," to be directed by Damien Chazelle ("Whiplash").
C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8 from "Star Wars" took to the stage to pay tribute to composer John Williams, who was nominated for his 50th Academy Award.
And Buzz Lightyear, the fictional space ranger (and sometimes International Space Station resident), was literally drawn onto the stage with his "Toy Story" co-star, Woody, to present the Oscar for best animated film.
Comedian Chris Rock used his platform as the ceremony's host to raise attention to the lack of diversity among this year's nominees. As part of this, Rock took Damon's place in a re-staged clip from "The Martian," where NASA Administrator Theodore Sanders (Jeff Daniels) and NASA public affairs officer Annie Montrose (Kristen Wiig) debated if it was worth spending $2500 "white dollars" to save a "black astronaut."
"The Martian" earlier won two Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, and Best Actor (Damon) in the same category.
Volcanoes Light Up Atmospheres of Small Exoplanets
Volcanoes Light Up Atmospheres of Small Exoplanets
By Elizabeth Howell, Astrobiology Magazine
Geologic activity on a planet is believed to be very important for life, but it can be hard to spot its signs from far away — especially on smaller, rocky planets akin to Earth.
What if there was a large volcanic eruption on such an Earth-like planet — could we spot that? A group of graduate students at the University of Washington's astrobiology program considered this question after it arose during a class discussion about the search for life outside our solar system.
"All life needs energy," said doctoral student Joshua Krissansen-Totton. "At first we thought about plate tectonics. It's not necessary for life, but looking into it, we thought it might be a good indicator of places that are habitable. But it's very hard to spot that, so we looked more closely at volcanism." [Related: The Strangest Alien Planets]
The resulting article, "Transient Sulfate Aerosols as a Signature of Exoplanet Volcanism," was published in the journal Astrobiology in June. The work was funded by the NASA Astrobiology Institute's Virtual Planetary Laboratory.
Subtracting light
A common way of spotting Earth-sized planets is through the transit method. A telescope, such as NASA's Kepler spacetelescope, monitors a star for a long time looking for a planet to pass in front of it. Spotting small planets is easiest when they orbit dwarf stars because of the smaller ratio between the star's radius and the planet's radius. A larger star has enough light to easily obscure the tiny transit. However, spotting these small planets in this way says nothing necessarily about their atmospheres.
The scenario is arguably easier with very large planets. A spectrometer picks up the spectrum of light coming from the direction of a star and astronomers can look for a change in light signature when a planet passes in front to deduce the chemical composition of the planet's atmosphere. The first such measurements were done in 2002using gas giant HD 209458 (Charbonneau et al., 2002).
Our current technology doesn't allow us to do this with an Earth-sized planet at exoplanet distances, but Krissansen-Totton and his collaborators came up with another solution. When a volcano erupts, it tends to puff out the atmosphere as sulfur leaves the volcano and creates sulfate aerosols in the upper atmosphere through interactions with other molecules. Perhaps it's possible to see an atmosphere expanding and then contracting again on a small planet, even from a fairly large distance.
Pinatubo and Sarychev
In this paper, the researchers considered two scenarios. The first was looking at a volcanic eruption about the size of the 1991 Pinatubo eruption. This particular eruption was the second-largest in the 20th Century, following a 1912 eruption in Alaska. They also considered a more common volcanic scenario, such as the relatively small 2009 Sarychev eruption in Russia that caused some disruptions to flights due to an ash cloud.
The researchers tried simulating the capabilities of two forthcoming observatories: NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (to launch in 2018) and the ground-based European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) in Chile, scheduled to light up in 2024.
When the researchers created a model using these scenarios, they discovered that a Sarychev eruption would be very hard to spot on an Earth-sized planet orbiting a Sun-like star about 10 parsecs (32 light-years) away. The larger Pinatubo eruption, however, did create a rapid increase and gradual decrease in the planet's radius that could more easily be spotted with the telescopes.
Recent planetary find
This is all the more exciting, Krissansen-Totton added, with the recent discovery of GJ 1132b. This planet is slightly larger than Earth and hovers so close as to orbit its parent star in a mere 38 hours, making it a real scorcher in terms of temperature. The planet also happens to be relatively near to Earth – just 12 parsecs (39 light-years) away. Krissansen-Totton said there would be limitations in understanding such a planet's atmospheric composition.
"There's a good chance it'll have a thick Venus-like atmosphere," he said. "On Venus, nothing is visible below 90 kilometers because of its cloud layers; explosive eruptions on a Venus-like exoplanet would be obscured by cloud."
Volcanoes are a fairly common feature in the Solar System. In icy form, we have seen eruptions on Saturn's moon Enceladus. There also is evidence of volcanic eruptions (whether in the past or present) in locations such as Venus and even Pluto, the latter of which was seen close-up for the first time this year by NASA's New Horizons spacecraft.
"Many people think hydrothermal settings are crucial in the origin of life," Krissansen-Totton said. "So we're more interested in seeing planets with volcanic activity."
New UFO thriller The Phoenix Incident goes beyond the theater to investigate a mysterious episode that occurred two decades ago in the Arizona skies.
The independent film, set for its initial release March 10 in a one-night only event in 200 theaters (PhoenixIncident.com), gets its name from a March 13, 1997 happening known as the Phoenix Lights. Eyewitnesses saw a string of lights in the sky that hovered and formed into a V shape. Authorities dispelled witnesses' accounts saying the lights were flares used by the Air National Guard.

Phoenix Lights: The Valley's most famous UFO story
But the incident remained in the mind of L.A. filmmaker Keith Arem, who is originally from the Phoenix area, and he waited years for a chance to explore it. The longtimeCall of Duty video game talent director flexed his multimedia muscles in writing and directing the film, which proposes that four Phoenix men who disappeared about that time were abducted by aliens.
Arem uses a mixture of fake found video footage with that shot by real-world eyewitnesses and the military, along with other film magic. A veteran of video game development (Call of Duty, Titanfall, Ghost Recon), Arem included in the cast two popular video game voice actors Troy Baker (Call of Duty: Advance Warfare, The Last of Us) and Yuri Lowenthal (Prince of Persia, Sunset Overdrive).
"We’ve very much taken the Cloverfield meets Blair Witch Project approach in the sense that we have an exciting event-based film with an immersive interactive viral campaign that exists outside of that," he said. "When audiences see the film it feels very much like an action thriller but they’re experiencing the story in so many facets."
The film's March 10 debut (7:30 p.m. local time; for more information go to theFathom Events web site.) includes a live Q&A with Arem.
In advance of the film's release, Arem and the other filmmakers have been cultivating a viral campaign over the past two years on hidden websites, Twitter feeds and Facebook.
Viewers can engage with the movie before viewing and after the credits roll. For instance, readers can use smartphone app Shazam to highlight The Phoenix Incidentmovie poster to gain access to a sweepstakes contest and the movie trailer. (Note: You can Shazam the image in this story, too.)
“The Phoenix Incident is the first independent film to allocate a portion of their planned media budget specifically for a visual partnership with Shazam," said Shazam CEO Rich Riley. "The hope is that the success across this unique user-initiated activation will offer fans an experience that transcends just clicking on an ad. With Shazam, fans are instead transported into a deeper experience as we connect them to the creators of the passionate and influential world of independent cinema.”
Those who can't get to the March 10 event will be able to eventually rent or buy the movie online, including via the Steam computer game service. An interactive version of the movie will also be available in a soon-to-be-announced new app.
"We are incorporating all these transmedia elements into releasing a film in a new and unique way," Arem said.

North East UFO sightings proof of extraterrestrial life an expert has claimed 18:30, 27 FEB 2016 UPDATED 16:10, 28 FEB 2016 BY DAN O'DONOGHUE UFOs have been sighted above Newcastle, Washington, County Durham, Gateshead and Northumberland in the past year
North East UFO sightings proof of extraterrestrial life an expert has claimed
UFOs have been sighted above Newcastle, Washington, County Durham, Gateshead and Northumberland in the past year
A North East UFO “investigator” has claimed that bright lights above the region’s skies are a sign of extraterrestrial life.
Analysis of encounters logged with the Mutual UFO Network (Mufon)- described as ‘the world’s oldest and largest UFO phenomenon investigative body’- show 18 incidents logged in our region since January last year.
They range from a sighting of a ‘teleporting man’, to a silent rocket, and a ‘white glowing object’ that changed direction in the blink of an eye.
Glen Richardson, a Hartlepool based UFO Investigative Researcher, said the sightings proved we’re not alone.
He said: “I have been investigating incidents for around 20 years now, I get about five pictures and messages about UFOs from across the North East and UK every week.
“It may be true that nine times out of 10 there is a scientific explanation but some things you just cannot explain.
“I am very open minded and I do believe that there is life out there, sightings like the ones recorded back that up.”
Many of the sightings come with video and pictures taken at the time.
They included a sighting recorded on June 27 in County Durham of a circle-shaped, bright orange light.
The witness, who spotted it through their living room window, ran through their back door in order to get video footage before it disappeared.
Another encounter documented on video took place on December 1 in Sunderland.
The witness described the object as having ‘defined lights within a square’.
On May 14, a person driving up the A1 noticed a plane and took a picture of it.
When later zooming on the image, they spotted a ‘strange object in the sky’ just above the aircraft.
Mr Richardson said that it was important for people to report incidents. He said: “Some people fear ridicule, but there is no shame in trying to find the answers and I think the more people report the more investigations there will be and the more evidence will form.”
Across the UK, there were 476 sightings listed on mufon.com between January 1, 2015, and the middle of February this year.
Mr Richardson concluded: “There is strong evidence for life out there now and I predict in the next 30 years it will be a known fact.”

Huge UFO spotted near International Space Station
Huge UFO spotted near International Space Station
Location:ISS Date:Feb 17, 2016 Submitted by Bob
Witness report: This happened during a live stream of the ISS. It was on camera for over 45 minutes before the live stream was cut off. There is a pattern with the lights blinking on the craft. Why is this not viral yet? Look at the link that I am providing from youtube. Also, the object comes closer to the ISS over time. If the link does not work, then type into youtube: “live streaming from iss”, it should be the first video that comes up.

Witness report: A triangular shaped object with on base it had 4 large diamond shaped dull lights on either side came over the top of our house about 100 mtrs up. No noise and an orb shaped object bright as can be shot out from the right hand side of it in an up warn motion at an amazing rate of speed. About 15 mins later another orb or maybe the same one came in from the left hand side into the area of where the bigger craft would have been but was out of sight at this time. The feeling of seeing made all my hair stand up and gave me goose bumps all over.
Location:St Kilda Beach, looking towards Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia Date:29th Feb 2016 @ 8:22pm Submitted by Brett
Witness report: Saw a reflective light in the sky, was able to see this with the naked eye, after taking a number of photos the object looked like a set of wings
The object also did not move, was visible for about 5 mins and then disappeared

The Horten H.IX, RLM designation Ho 229 (often called Gotha Go 229 due to the identity of the chosen manufacturer of the aircraft) was a German prototype fighter/bomber designed by Reimar and Walter Horten and built by Gothaer Waggonfabrik late in World War II. It was the first pure flying wing powered by jet engines.[1]
It was given the personal approval of German Luftwaffen Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, and was the only aircraft to come close to meeting his "3×1000" performance requirements, namely to carry 1,000 kilograms (2,200 lb) of bombs a distance of 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) with a speed of 1,000 kilometres per hour (620 mph). Its ceiling was 15,000 metres (49,000 ft).[2]
Since the appearance of the B-2 Spirit flying wing stealth bomber in the 1990s, its similarities in role and shape to the Ho 229 has led many to retrospectively describe the Ho 229 as "the first stealth bomber".[3] A static reproduction of the only surviving Ho 229 prototype, the Ho 229 V3, in American hands since the end of World War II was later tested by the US military who found the basic shape and paint composition of the mock copy would provide for 20% reduction in detection range against the Chain Home radar of the 1940s, but no significant stealth benefit against most other contemporary radar systems.[3]

Filer's Files - UFOs Above Top Secret and Classified - Excellent
Filer's Files - UFOs Above Top Secret and Classified - Excellent

Extremely Good Presentation- Agree with all his suppositions or not, George is a honest man with a verifiable background. Whether his assumptions are correct is the question. An educated guess based on all data definitely intimates that he is being entirely honest about all these matters from his standpoint. Doesn't mean what he was told was true - be I believe he is recounting everything as he remembers.
George A Filer was an Air Force Intelligence Officer who not only had an extraordinary encounter with a massive UFO on radar over the United Kingdom but later, in the 1970s while he was at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, but also found out that an extraterrestrial biological entity had been shot at Fort Dix.
The Extraterrestrial purportedly fled to the adjacent McGuire Air Force Base, where it died on the tarmac. He testifies that this life form was then picked up and taken to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Afterwards, many of the key personnel on the base who had a connection with this event, were quickly transferred.
Major Filer also points out that the ridicule factor has been very effective at silencing people who have seen ETs or UFOs, and has helped to maintain secrecy.
Also, occasionally, he used to do briefings on the UFO sightings that had occurred around the world, to the generals. One that sticks out in my mind is 1976 — there was a famous encounter near Tehran. He thinks these are something alien: it is a non-human [craft] that has a different form of propulsion and is coming here and doing reconnaissance...
Boston Dynamics has showcased its evolving robot family in a new video of the Atlas humanoid robot. At 5.75-ft (175-cm) tall, the latest Atlas is a head shorter than its elder sibling, but it has some new tricks up its sleeve. Not only can the tetherless robot operate under internal power, but it can work indoors and out and boasts greatly improved balance.
According to Boston Dynamics, the new Atlas is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. Though shorter than the old Atlas, it has new sensors in its body and legs to help it balance, as well as LIDAR and stereo sensors to help it to avoid obstacles. The company isn't saying much more, but the video does give clues to a number of other improvements, such as a lower center of gravity and a leg architecture similar in function to that of the mountain goat-like Spot robot.
But one might ask what was wrong with the old Atlas? It was already the main robot used by competitors in last year's DARPA Robotics Challenge and wasn't doing too bad – it was cleaning its room and everything.
The answer is in the video below, which shows the new Atlas walking about indoors and out in rough, snowy country. It may have looked like it had one too many in places, but was able to catch its footing impressively after a stumble. It also demonstrated the ability to stack shelves while twisting its body in a remarkably lifelike manner, as well as the capacity to get around using digital labels as navigation markers.
The most dramatic sequences in the video show a human using a hockey stick to knock a box out of the robot's hands, then pushing the box away so the robot has to chase after it. Another shows someone pushing the robot hard in the back, so it falls down. This demonstrates three things: the ability of the robot to adapt to a changing situation, its advanced ability to regain its feet after falling down, and the Boston Dynamics team needs to seriously rethink robot-management relations.
The video below shows the new Atlas strutting its stuff.
