Strange signals coming from the galaxy CR7 were observed last year and could prove a theory stating that the heat of the early universe gave birth to giant stars that consume all the gas and dust around them, leading themselves to an early grave and leaving a black hole "seed."
DEATH BY OVEREATING
In 2003, Avi Loeb, chair of the astronomy department at Harvard University and Volker Bromm of the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) theorized the existence of black holes that result from a process referred to as “direct collapse.”
In this process, an environment that is so hot, such as the early universe, would promote the growth of a single massive star instead of forming several clumps of thousands of smaller stars. And because heavier elements were not as spread out in the early universe, stars made up of almost purely helium and hydrogen lack the elements that would have helped cool them down.
Stars born under these circumstances quickly consume all the gas and dust around them, growing around 1 million times bigger than normal stars, but ultimately driving themselves to an early grave.

When such a star dies, it may implode and form a black hole which may start out medium-sized but would eventually grow into supermassive black holes from constant feeding.
“The special aspect of this (direct-collapse) process is that it leads to the formation of a very massive ‘seed’ black hole in one go,” Loeb says. “It is difficult to make such a giant black hole over such a short time if they start from low-mass seeds.”
POSSIBLE EVIDENCE OF THIS THEORY JUST CAME UP
Astronomers observed a strange signal coming from a galaxy known as CR7 last year. This galaxy is one of the most luminous objects in the early universe and its temperature is assumed to be over 180,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite evidence of helium ionization detected from the galaxy, there were no signs of other elements, such as heavier elements.
It is not certain, however, whether the irregularities were caused by a direct-collapse black hole, or first-generation stars.
“That makes the galaxy that we have discovered really unique, and ticks all the boxes for predictions for both first-generation stars, or a direct-collapse black hole,” says David Sobral, an astrophysicist at the University of Lisbon in Portugal.

“Regardless, the actual material—pristine gas, to make either first-generation stars or a direct collapse black hole is essentially the same, and it is extremely exciting to finally start asking actual physical questions about the nature of the very early galaxies,” Sobral said. “This goes way beyond the traditional approach of simply counting distant galaxies.”
More observations will be conducted to confirm what it is exactly that is causing the strange signals from CR7. NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) are up to the task, as well as other research teams using computer simulations.

Star Wars President Reagan
The Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) often called Star Wars was proposed by U.S. President Ronald Reagan on March 23, 1983, to use ground- and space-based systems to protect the United States from attack by strategic nuclear ballistic missiles. The Strategic Defense Initiative was set up in 1984 and “widely criticized as being unrealistic, as well as for threatening to destabilize MAD and re-ignite “an offensive arms race” between the Soviets and the United States.
It was soon derided and called Star Wars implying there was another reason for building the weapons system particularly when he offered to share it with the Soviets
Many scientists claimed that a global shield such as “Star Wars” was not only impossible with existing technology, but that ten more years of research was needed to learn whether it might ever be feasible. There is good reason to believe that the billions spent to develop an effective system that may now exist.
Lasers and other weapons have come on line and the Soviets became a much smaller threat as the new much smaller country of Russia. The Soviet ICBM fleet had tens of thousands of warheads, but only about 1,400 missiles. If each satellite had two dozen lasers, two dozen satellites on-station would significantly blunt any attack. In Molniya orbits, satellites would spend much of their time over the USSR, and only a few dozen satellites would be needed, in total. An article in Aviation Week and Space Technology described how the devices “… are so small that a single payload bay on the space shuttle could carry to orbit a number sufficient to stop a Soviet nuclear weapons attack”.
In Reagan’s March 23, 1983, “Star Wars” speech, Reagan announced, “I call upon the scientific community who gave us nuclear weapons to turn their great talents to the cause of mankind and world peace: to give us the means of rendering these nuclear weapons impotent and obsolete.” In a surprising statement, “He offered to share the technology with the Soviets.”
The program became the largest and most expensive weapons program in the US defense budget costing 8.5 Billion dollars per year. Although, we’re are told it is designed to destroy incoming nuclear missiles it may also be an effective weapons system to protect the United States against limited UFO threats as Reagan inferred on several occasions. In 1984, the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO) was established to oversee the program, which was headed by Lt. General James Alan Abrahamson USAF, Initially, the program focused on large scale systems designed to defeat a Soviet offensive strikes. However, as the threat diminished, the program shifted towards smaller systems designed to defeat limited launches like those of North Korea or Iran.
President Reagan stated in remarks made to the 42nd General Assembly of the United Nations. September 21, 1987, “In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us realize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. And yet, I ask you,
IS NOT AN ALIEN FORCE ALREADY AMONG US?”
Only a few people knew the answer was yes there is an alien force among us. Reagan received regular intelligence data on UFO activities.
Stargate or Star Wars?

Darren Perks a British Ufologist investigates and researches UFOs and related subjects. He has contributed to extensive media work, and has acted as a consultant or contributor on numerous TV and radio shows and many documentaries and films. writes, “Since approximately 1980, a secret space fleet code named ‘Solar Warden’ has been in operation unknown to the public.
These are my own words after conducting research into the secret program. Whilst conducting an FOI (freedom of information) request with the DOD (department of defense) in 2010, I had a much unexpected response by email from them which read:
“About an hour ago I spoke to a NASA rep who confirmed this was their program and that it was terminated by the President. He also informed me that it was not a joint program with the DOD. The NASA rep informed me that you should be directed to the Johnson Space Center FOIA Manager.”
I have run your request through one of our space-related directorates and I’m waiting on one other division with the Command to respond back to me. I will contact you once I have a response from the other division. Did NASA refer you to us?”
The program not only operates classified under the US Government, but also under the United Nations authority. So you might be wondering how do I know this information?
Well there are a few people and many others that have tried hard to find out the truth, and have succeeded by leaked information or simply asking questions and have government departments slip up and give away information freely, just like what happened when Darren Perks asked the DoD.
One notable contributor is Gary Mckinnon. When Gary McKinnon hacked into U.S. Space Command computers several years ago and learned of the existence of “non-terrestrial officers” and “fleet-to-fleet transfers” and a secret program called “Solar Warden“, he was charged by the Bush Justice Department with having committed “the biggest military computer hack of all time“, and stood to face prison time of up to 70 years after extradition from UK.
But trying McKinnon in open court would involve his testifying to the above classified facts, and his attorney would be able to subpoena government officers to testify under oath about the Navy’s Space Fleet. The UK has denied the extradition of McKinnon to the U.S.
Allegedly, McKinnon also found out about the ships or craft within Solar Warden. It is said that there are eight cigar-shaped Motherships (each longer than two football fields end-to-end) and 43 small “scout ships. The Solar Warden Space Fleet operates under the US Naval Network and Space Operations Command (NNSOC) [formerly Naval Space Command]. There are approximately 300 personnel involved at that facility, with the figure rising
Solar Warden is said to be made up from U.S. aerospace Black Projects contractors, but with some contributions of parts and systems by Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Russia, and Australia. William Tomkins who worked for several aviation companies including Douglas and Lockheed confirms Solar Warden and the need for more space ships to fight negative aliens usually described as Reptilians. So should we just write this off as utter nonsense? No we shouldn’t and as time goes on the truth will slowly come out. Many people around the world are now witnessing craft moving around in the skies, our atmosphere and underwater that completely defy gravity. Whether they are part of the Solar Warden secret program, military experimental aircraft or not, thousands of people know what they see. MUFON is getting almost a thousand UFO reports a month.
In my view Solar Warden is very real and a very strong possibility. So no, I don’t think we should rule it out as complete nonsense. Yes, it’s a conspiracy because of all the hype and controversy surrounding the facts and information about the program. This program would change the world and our views on space exploration and travel, so no wonder that it would be kept a big ‘secret’. The media is controlled by six companies that choose what is revealed to the public and have a very liberal propaganda mission. We should all keep it in the back of our minds, for now at least! Editor’s Note: I have heard similar stories that appear to have some validity. Commander Graham Bethune who was the chief pilot for several Admirals told me similar information and that we have bases on the Moon and Mars.
We are getting signals from various government sources to reveal the secrets of UFOs and alien visitations. I get the impression high ranking officers are very concerned at the potential threat.
His story was similar to some of the Stargate SG-1 television series and its sequels. Several types of starships are introduced in the later seasons with world missions to other planets visited via the Stargate. The Stargate is an alien device discovered on Earth that allows near instantaneous travel to other planets via a controlled wormhole across a network of similar gates. Some of these alien races are hostile to Earth and bent on galaxy-wide domination, so Earth starships are built by the US military through billions of dollars in secret funding to respond to the threat.
Earth begins constructing its own space-capable fighters and larger, Mothership-style vessels based on alien technology. The plans for these vessels are shared with the Russians.
The first successful ship fielded by Earth is the F-302, a small, two-man craft somewhat similar to a traditional human fighter aircraft. Later on, Earth begins creating interstellar battle cruisers, such as the Daedalus Battle Cruiser. I have talked William Tomkins and others who claim Time Travel is possible and we have space ships.
Caution: Counter intelligence and PSYOP personnel inform me that thousands of government documents were made to fool foreign spies to get them to buy alleged UFO material. In other words, a legitimate government document may not be the truth. For example if you fired from your job and collect unemployment insurance you are counted as unemployed. However, once you stop collecting you are not counted in the unemployment figures. We are told unemployment is 6%, but about 23% of the population is looking for work.
Psychological operations (PSYOP) are planned operations to convey selected information and indicators to audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of governments, organizations, groups, and individuals.
The purpose of United States psychological operations is to induce or reinforce behavior favorable to U.S. objectives. They are an important part of the range of diplomatic, informational, military, and economic activities available to the U.S.
Part 2 Gosport, England Witness
By Bob Spearing one of our great investigators and New Jersey MUFON State Section Director tells about case #68712 he investigated. Stokes Bay, Gosport, U.K. – RESOLVED –Unknown Aerial Vehicle, Possible Abduction
Gosport, England is also home to the Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) “just up the road” from Don Martin’s our witness’s house. It is the U.K. equivalent of the United States’ Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The DSTL’S mission, by its own admission, is “to maximize the impact of science and technology for the defense and security of the U.K.” Its means are the utilization of experiments in chemical, radiological and nerve agents. One of its specific areas of research is Air and Weapons Systems.
It seems Gosport and its surrounding areas are perhaps the most secretive and sensitive top secret locations in all of Great Britain! And Don our fisherman went fishing there! Don had another episode that predated his July 22nd affair. On June 8th, 2015 at a Gosport’s friend’s house at approximately 10 pm, he states “I was very tired and fell asleep on a settee and feeling a severe burning pain on my left foot I woke up. It stopped. Later, I woke up again with the pain. I looked to my foot and there was a green and yellow glass-like rod one foot long which looked and felt like a welding rod lying on my foot burning my skin. There was no mark. There was no smell of burning flesh but there was a buzzing noise. My socks were also hanging off my toes as if removed. The atmosphere in room was strange, silent. The television was on but had no sound. Three friends were there but they did not move. Then I blacked out. Nothing was said in the morning and I left it at that.”
I decided to investigate Gosport itself to see if he was fishing where he should not have been. I was taken aback by the results. Gosport is a sleepy town with a series of chapels and a nice seaside. But it is also home to the Portsmouth HM Naval Base just a half mile away from Don Martin’s fishing spot. It is the home of two-thirds of the British Navy and soon to be home of Britain’s two new aircraft carriers. It also has a submarine base.
Even closer to Don’s Stokes Bay seawall fishing spot is Fort Moncton. It is a two hundred year old edifice protecting the bay. Its only entrance today is still via its drawbridge and its English Channel facing side has an enormous and unscalable sea wall. I did a search for Fort Moncton on the internet. The reader should do the same. According to Wikipedia, the only legitimate website mentioning Fort Moncton, it seems its only purpose apart from its function as logistical support for the Special Air Service (SAS), the special forces arm of the British Military, is purportedly as the main training facility for MI6 (British Intelligence Service) teaching “field craft.” Additionally, it is the almost universal absence of anything on the internet for this 200 year old fort that is most disconcerting.
From 1972 to 1985 Don was in the military. He spent considerable time in the 47th Air Dispatch Squadron. He flew on many missions in support of the SAS on C-13O transport planes. When asked if he ever flew any secret missions, he stated when he was handed a gun and a knapsack on several missions it was inferred something was going on. In August 1982, Don was stationed in Cyprus when he caught the tail end of a UFO sighting over the communications base responsible for intercepting all communications from the Middle East. Don was stationed at Bloodhound Camp on the outskirts of Akrotiri Sovereign Base which housed the Royal Air Force. It is Britain’s largest overseas base. It was 3:30 am, when Don was roused from sleep by a commotion. He ran outside. Sirens were going off.
Akrotiri Radomes
Akrotiri had three listening stations housed in white golf ball shaped facilities called radomes. People were taking flash photography of something over the golf balls. Don saw a silvery blue elongated donut shaped vehicle hovering over the golf balls. It had windows and was engulfed in a sort of misty atmosphere and it glowed. It was also absolutely silent. Don and several comrades estimated that its size was slightly longer than a 747 Jumbo Jet.
For many years the Akrotiri base was the site of a powerful shortwave transmitter called the Lincolnshire Poacher, which was used by the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to transmit instructions to undercover British agents. Additionally, antennas at Akrotiri tracked surveillance satellites as well as U-2s on secret Middle East Intelligence gathering flights. According to Wikipedia” “The Lincolnshire Poacher” was a powerful shortwavenumbers station that transmitted from Cyprus from the mid-1970s to June 2008. The station gained its commonly known name as it uses bars from the English folk song “The Lincolnshire Poacher” as an interval signal. The radio station was believed to be operated by the BritishSecret Intelligence Service and emanated from the island of Cyprus.[1] Amateur direction finding linked it with the Royal Air Force base at Akrotiri, Cyprus, where several curtain antennas had been identified as being its transmitter.[2] It consisted of an electronically synthesized English-accented female voice reading groups of five numbers: e.g. ‘0-2-5-8-8’. The final number in each group was spoken at a higher pitch. It is likely that the station was used to communicate to undercover agents (spies) operating in other countries, to be decoded using a one-time pad.”
There is a corroborating story in Richard Dolan’s book entitled “The Cover-Up Exposed 1973-1991.” In this version of the account as forwarded to Mr. Dolan by Nick Redfern, on August 16, 1981 (a thirteen months difference with Don Martin’s estimation) an order was given by the British Ministry of Defense for all aircraft operating out of Akrotiri to stand down. Shortly afterwards a “vast” object was tracked at 30,000 feet traveling at 900 mph. The object came to a halt over the base for 45 minutes.
Witnesses described it as a white triangle over 700 feet long similar to the image show.. As Don Martin recounted, many photos were taken. On the following day a man and a woman arrived at the base and confiscated all photographs. Don’s story seems to hold up well against Richard Dolan’s!
Therefore a highly classified M-I6 operation was underway in Cyprus where the UFO hovered. Given Don’s role in SAS support operations in his 13 years with the military and his proximity to the SAS support facility Fort Moncton later as well as his living down the road from DSTL Laboratories, one must question if Don was an innocent bystander in a highly complex spy world. Don’s experience in Cyprus may well be of an ultimately important UFO sighting currently under wraps by governments involved in the sighting. The British Government has no equivalent of the American Freedom of Information Act so we may never know what went on at Akrotiri.
Around the time of the Akrotiri incident, Don was found in a sleepwalking state in his underwear on the base. Several years earlier, back in England again in the employ of the 47th, Don woke up in a Chippenham military base’s garden without any clothes on. He doesn’t remember how he got there. Was Don simply a victim of somnambulist’s nightmares or was he being returned from abductions?
So we have Don, a witness to a UFO sighting on a British Military base in August 1982, a victim of a July 22nd, 2015 sighting with physical effects in a highly secretive British town and a victim as well in several ancillary experiences such as Thassos, Greece, reaching out to MUFON for help. What else could be construed as being irregular in this twisted tale? The sad answer came soon enough! On January 28th, 2016 (exactly six months and six days after his July 22nd sighting), I heard from Don for the first time since his Greece vacation. The email went as follows:
“Hi Bob, I`m sorry for the delay in contacting you. Unfortunately it has just been confirmed I have been diagnosed with terminal Esophageal and Liver Cancer. I believe this is a direct effect of the event of 22 July 2015. I am interested to know I if you are still willing to write up this event in the Mufon Journal, using my name. My prognosis is two to three months life span. I will leave it at that for now until I receive your reply. Sincerely Don.”
There had to be more to this story. Only 7 months after being enveloped in a yellow haze of a UFO, Don Martin was dying. Was Don imagining everything or was something happening to him? What could I do as an investigator? I couldn’t walk up to Fort Moncton’s Drawbridge and ring the bell asking if anyone was sending killer drones on unsuspecting British citizens, could I? I could only detail what happened. There was no physical evidence but the circumstantial evidence, the amazing coincidences concerning the SAS and MI6, and the amazing onset of terminal cancer so soon after his horrific July 22nd 2015 affair suggest a pattern. And so “What if?”
What if his whole story is true or even just part of it?! Then we must confront the legitimate possibility that Don Martin, the Gosport Fisherman, was murdered by someone or something unknown! Don Martin died on March 5, 2016 exactly 7 months and 14 days after his encounter. Ancient Pyramids
Graham Hancock suggests — to the everlasting irritation of mainstream archaeologists — that, yes, perhaps the Great Pyramid and other megaliths are thousands of years older than we currently believe and were built by one such advanced, ancient civilization. Whoever the pyramids’ builders were, they had a deep knowledge of astronomy. The perimeter of the base of the Great Pyramid, for instance, multiplied by 43,200, gives you the equatorial circumference of the Earth. And 43,200 isn’t a random number. It is a multiple of 72.
Why does 72 matter? Like a top winding down while it spins, the Earth wobbles on its axis. In astronomy, this motion is called “precession.” It takes 72 years for the Earth to complete one degree of precessional wobble. So it seems the Great Pyramid’s builders knew not only the size of the planet but also some very subtle, sophisticated things about how it moves through space. This at a time before modern man even realized Earth was round. We have the evidence of the Sphinx. Boston University Geology professor Dr. Robert Schoch and Egyptologist John Anthony West have presented very compelling and unrefuted evidence dating the
Sphinx to as far back as 10,000 to 15,000 plus BC. Water erosion of the Sphinx is obvious, due to unmistakable ‘precipitation induced weathering’, deep vertical fissures and undulating horizontal coves that could only have been caused by thousands of years of heavy rain – rain that must have fallen on the Sphinx after it was carved. Sightings in the United States
California Triangle
I have become a bit of a sky watcher, and have seen many odd things in the last year, but I have never seen a triangle-type craft, until I reviewed the footage from my modified ‘ghost’-pro (a full-spectrum night vision camera), that I had collected on July 12-13 2016. Although I expected a possible few meteors, I caught two hours of some of the most anomalous lights I had ever seen.
My camera is tripod mounted, and I keep a known UV light source in frame; it’s a security camera mounted on the corner of the roof on the second story. That way I can review the security camera, if I believe the ghost-pro has been moved. The video will show the event, un-retouched, then enhanced video/stills. I will continue to report the night vision anomalies, as they happen. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Indialantic— I am sitting on the beach with my dogs and all of a sudden I see two balls of light over the ocean. It looked like they were coming closer, but they had stopped. They hovered for a while, but they went down and disappeared into the ocean. I have a picture on my Facebook. I too would like to know what is going on with these lights. My cousin saw the same thing three years ago in Sebastian. I Goggled balls of light in Sebastian, and up came a bunch of the same sightings always seen either over the ocean or the river. Response from Witness to Investigator Questions: My sighting was on April 21, 2016, and it was around 8:00 PM. It is a photo of the two lights over the ocean’s surface. Note: This sighting was reported to Brian Vike (UFO blogger) who forwarded the case to me. The photo appears to show two sets of two lights. Boca Raton— My fiancé and I were recording odd skywriting on July 7, 2016, while my car was serviced at Tires Plus. We were on the sidewalk on State Road 7 just south of the intersection at SW 18th Street (Marina Blvd) looking east. While recording, an object it flew through the sky in front of where I was recording from the south to north.
I could not make out what it was until I checked the still shots of the video. It was the fastest moving thing I have ever seen. See attached video approx 5-6 sec in. It zips by in a fraction of a second. I also attached a screen shot of it. It appears to be a dark colored craft with some sort or energy below it, and what could be a cockpit type hatch on the top. Kentucky Lights
Winchester – On July 13, 2016, at 11 PM. my wife and I were sitting in our garage and she noticed a light in the sky and asked me if it was a plane. I said, “The army depot is that way.” She said, “It’s moving too fast to be a plane.” I looked at what she was looking at and it covered a distance that made me think it was a drone that was close by. I had to run out of the garage to follow its path, which would stop and reverse then go forward and return about every two seconds. It would change from white light to red and back again. We timed the object which we now knew wasn’t a drone or plane because it shot straight up into a cloud with lightening. It covered a distance in 28 seconds that covered miles, then came back and went into the lightning clouds! I tried to record. Thanks to MUFON
Michigan Orbs
Potterville— On July 9th 2016 at 11:30 PM, I noticed an orange ball in the sky. I went outside and noticed there were actually five of them hovering. They would drop down then rise back up. To my west were the white ball and an orange ball next to it and one orange ball directly above us. I couldn’t judge the distance, but the white ball looked real close. I watched them for about an hour. The white ball with the orange one left at the same time. The three to the south and one above remained. One of the three in the south then went west. The other two just kept hovering and then they also went west. The orange sphere looked like a comet and bright white ball. The sky was clear and the moon was only a sliver. Nevada Light
Las Vegas— There were two sightings of this “thing” on two separate nights. My brother was visiting and we were up late on July 8, 2016, at my house. We went outside around 1:30 am. He looked up at the sky and pointed out a strange glowing “thing”. It was faintly changing color, pulsing, and twinkling red and green, but predominantly golden yellow. It was hovering over the trees to the west. It was very low in the sky and hovered in one spot too long to be a helicopter. It wasn’t a plane as they don’t hover. My brother said it looked like a UFO not more than 500 feet away.
The next night it was not there but I went outside again at 12:35 a.m. it was in exactly the same spot in the sky as before. I texted my brother and got my husband to look and he was mystified as well. The UFO kept changing shape and was flying west in a straight line and slowly disappeared. Thanks to MUFON CMS
New Jersey Disc
On September 22, 2015 around 9 pm, my fiancé woke me up to say, “There are weird lights outside.” So I went outside on my apartment balcony to look, and sure enough I am still not sure what I saw. There were three objects going by every five minutes. We both took videos. After that I pretty much brushed it off until April, I was watching YouTube videos and they reminded me of my videos. So I decided to do a frequent snapshot between both videos. I zoomed in, and could not believe what I think I captured. One “vehicle” had two beings sitting inside of an acorn shaped object; the one in the front, you can see his eyes and the top of his head. The one in the rear, you can see his whole face. The other object was even weirder. Is was significantly bigger and seemed transparent in the snapshot. A door can also be seen. I only know what I saw. Thanks to MUFON CMS
New York Lights
Brentwood –On Saturday night, July 16, 2016, at 9:20 pm, when my fiancée and I were driving down the street, we saw two yellow-orange colored bright lights ascending towards the sky.
At first, we thought they were just couple of balloons or a helicopter of some sort. We watched for a good couple of minutes, our thoughts altered. so we have decided to record it. Thanks to MUFON CMS
North Carolina Streaks
Wendell — Late one afternoon, I think it was June 29, 2016; a thunderstorm was brewing so I grabbed my digital camera to take several pictures of the clouds. The second picture I took had streaks of light that shot through my field of vision just as I clicked the shutter. I almost deleted it, but was glad I didn’t. It was around 6-7 pm, on my deck which is facing southeast and looking at the clouds. I’m always on the lookout for tornado-looking clouds and these looked like that, low, flat, very dark gray, and whitish underneath. These three bright beams of light startled me as they streaked across my eyes. They seemed to originate from underneath the clouds. I’ve had a few other people look at the photo and they don’t know what the streaks are either. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Oregon Lights
Springfield–I observed 5-7 objects in the sky while I was outside for a smoke break on April 5, 2016. I had a sense they were UFO’s (I have had previous encounters with them). The objects stayed in the same place. I kept going outside to check on them. When I went outside again around midnight they were gone. I was alarmed. The sighting brought back fears I had from previous encounters. After the birth of my 6th child, the medical doctors wanted to study my blood in order to research components of my blood that would be able to help other mothers with the length of time they were pregnant before delivery. Maybe the aliens are interested in my blood for the same reason. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Virginia Beach — My fiance’ took a picture of the last rays of sunlight in a strip of shops just north of the mall on July 1, 2016. It wasn’t until I was looking at the pictures that I noticed a diamond shaped series of lights, Three white/blue and one at the tip was reddish.
It was so far off, we never saw the object, but captured it on film. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Washington Disc
Bellingham — I had just applied for a job at the local University and decided to stop to get a nice view of the bay on July 6, 2016. It was raining lightly and inside the plumes of smoke was a rectangle-shaped dark patch that was moving away. I watched it with curiosity because of the odd, dark rectangle shape. I thought it might be, coming in for landing. I noted the slowness with which the object moved across the sky. After 15 minutes, the object was lined up with the airport. The rectangle would also slowly drift halfway to its starting position and back again. I zoomed in on my phone camera and filmed a few shots of the object. After filming, I saw a jet take off from Bellingham International Airport and watched it transit the rectangle. The jet was almost as big as the object, but clearly closer to me, showing me the object was much larger than the jet. I saw the object drift slightly west one last time, and slowly vanish. In conclusion, all of its behaviors and drifting patterns defy explanation. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Australia Fast Objects
I am in Mordialloc, Melbourne and just witnessed on July 17, 2016, at 4:11 am, two super fast flying objects [silent] moving across the sky fairly distant but moving at the same speed from north east to south west. Canada Sphere
Scarborough, Ontario — On July 8, 2016, I was on afternoon break with some co-workers looked north of our position about a mile away noticed a roundish dark flashing object couple of hundred feet at 3:14 pm. It was moving from the east heading west at maintaining the same altitude. Its movements appeared strange as a bright flashing white light. I alerted my friend and we both ran through the parking lot north at about seventy yards and stopped and looked.
It was now straight north of us hovering and I started to film and pointed the object out to my co-worker who could see it hovering. Then it started to rise vertical then stop and continue to climb straight up higher. Another co-worker witnessed this strange round object. Every minute it continued flashing and climbed higher stopping at intervals. The object climbed so high we could all no longer see it! The sighting ended at 3:27 pm. Thanks to Paul Shishis.
Mexico Lights
Monterrey — I was outside on the balcony looking at 10:40 pm at the sky and Jupiter, when suddenly I saw like a shooting star switching colors blue red and white on June 24, 2016. It made a sudden change of direction to 15 degrees northwest towards the Leo Constellation, but making different short turns, like deciding where to go. The event took about 13 seconds then camouflaged as the light dimmed down fast. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Poland Object
Kudowa Zdrój — I made three photos of the moon and saw this object to the right of the moon. I zoomed in and saw this object on the first picture. On the second in the shadow it looks like a triangle shape. On the third picture it is a light in ring. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Russia Space Light
Unidentified objects were filmed over the Ural Mountains with the night vision camera. During simulation, the sky and the time any satellites at this location was not in accordance with Stellarium program. There were three UFOs, one flew south, and it was the first UFO. The second object in the sky which flew under the star Altair was similar to the brightness of the star and moved to the north. Thanks to MUFON CMS
UK/England Alien Creature
Newton Abbot Devon— Today in the early hours of the morning on July 17, 2016, I had an incredible sighting. It was 4:30 AM and I had just woken up and I was thirsty, so I decided to get up and get a drink from downstairs. As I was passing my large window I looked out and saw something that gave me a fright. There was the back of a grey alien right outside standing next to a rose bush. The head of the Alien was totally out of proportion to its body. I could clearly see its grey skin there was no hair on its head. The alien looked 5 feet tall and was wearing a tightly fitted black looking one piece jumpsuit. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing I slowly moved past the window and upstairs to the bedroom where I had my camera. I grabbed my camera and slowly went back to the window but the being was no longer there. Then I heard a car alarm go off down the road like something had bumped into one of the cars. It was dark but there was some light as the sun was just coming up over the horizon. In the morning I took a photograph of the spot where the alien grey had been standing and there were two rose petals on the garden. NOTE: The above image is CGI. What Would Happen If Comet Swift-Tuttle Hit the Earth?

Shooting stars may fill you with child-like wonder, but these celestial showstoppers are also reminders that Earth is hardly alone in space, and some of those cosmic objects can be downright dangerous.
The Perseid meteor shower, which appears every year in mid-August, occurs when Earth passes through a trail of debris left by Comet Swift-Tuttle. In 1973, based on calculations about the object's orbit using limited observations, astronomer Brian Marsden at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics predicted that Comet Swift-Tuttle could collide with Earth in 2126. The catastrophic prediction was later retracted, but what would happen if Comet Swift-Tuttle smacked into our planet?
"We have to be clear that it's not going to happen," Donald Yeomans, a senior research scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and author of "Near-Earth Objects: Finding Them Before They Find Us" (Princeton University Press, 2012), told Live Science. When Swift-Tuttle was last seen in 1992, Yeomans was among those who produced revised models for the comet's motion, making the complicated calculations to account for the gravitational effects of the sun and planets on the space rock's orbit. The 1992 sighting, along with data from 1862 and 1737, provided astronomers with enough information to rule out the possibility of a collision in 2126.
Even still, Comet Swift-Tuttle isn't just another space rock.

Comet Swift-Tuttle is "certainly one of the largest" objects that crosses paths with the Earth, Yeomans said. The cosmic object measures about 16 miles (26 kilometers) across, and when it passes close to the Earth, roughly every 130 years, it's hurtling through space at about 36 miles per second (58 km/s), or more than 150 times the speed of sound.
If the comet were to strike the planet, the impact energy would be about 300 times that of the asteroid collision that was thought to have caused the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction that killed the dinosaurs about 65 million years ago, according to Yeomans. "It would be a very bad day for Earth," he said.
But the size of a comet or asteroid isn't the only thing to consider with cosmic collisions, said Gerta Keller, a geoscientist at Princeton University.
A comet strike on land or in shallow seas would be "rather destructive" regionally, but the real damage would likely come from gases put into the stratosphere, the part of Earth's atmosphere where the ozone layer is located, Keller told Live Science. Sulfur dioxide would initially cause cooling, and then carbon dioxide would lead to long-term warming, she added. An event like this would likely cause the planet's climate to change drastically, leading to mass extinctions around the globe. [Crash! 10 Biggest Impact Craters on Earth]
But Keller also pointed out that most of Earth's surface is covered in ocean. An impact in the deep ocean could trigger earthquakes and tsunamis, but based on what scientists know about the effects ofunderwater volcanic eruptions, the atmospheric effects likely would be mitigated by the ocean, she said. In this case, Keller said it's unlikely that a comet colliding with Earth would cause mass extinctions.
Scientists calculate that Swift-Tuttle's next approach to Earth will be on Aug. 5, 2126, when it will come within about 14 million miles, or 23 million km, or about 60 times the distance from Earth to the moon, Yeomans said. Current models don't expect the comet to ever get any closer than about 80,000 miles (130,000 km) to Earth's orbit, but as time passes, those predictions become less and less certain. So although Yeomans is sure that Earth faces no threat in 2126, he said 10,000 years from now, "you can't rule out the possibility, but it would seem to be very unlikely."
Part of that slim uncertainty is due to small influences on the comet that change its orbit ever so slightly each time it swings around the sun. For example, as comets pass near the sun and heat up, expanding gases act like jet thrusters, slightly altering the trajectory. For Swift-Tuttle, that effect is very small, likely due to the comet's tremendous mass, Yeomans said. But over thousands of years, these minute, unpredictable effects make it more difficult to predict the orbit of cosmic objects.
And there are plenty of other objects out there to be aware of, Yeomans said. "We have a long, long list of asteroids for which we haven't completely ruled out a collision, but the impact probabilities are so small that it's not really worth worrying about," he said.

Ancient Logbook Documenting Great Pyramid's Construction Unveiled

A logbook that contains records detailing the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza has been put on public display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
The Great Pyramid of Giza was built in honor of the pharaoh Khufu (reign ca. 2551 B.C.-2528 B.C.) and is the largest of the three pyramids constructed on the Giza plateau in Egypt. Considered a "wonder of the world" by ancient writers, the Great Pyramid was 481 feet (146 meters) tallwhen it was first constructed. Today it stands 455 feet (138 meters) high.
The logbook was written in hieroglyphic letters on pieces of papyri. Its author was an inspector named Merer, who was "in charge of a team of about 200 men," archaeologists Pierre Tallet and Gregory Marouard wrote in an article published in 2014 in the journal Near Eastern Archaeology. Tallet and Marouard are leaders of an archaeological team from France and Egypt that discovered the logbook at the Red Sea harbor of Wadi al-Jarfin 2013. It dates back about 4,500 years, making it the oldest papyrus document ever discovered in Egypt.
"Over a period of several months, [the logbook] reports — in [the] form of a timetable with two columns per day — many operations related to the construction of the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Giza and the work at the limestone quarries on the opposite bank of the Nile," Tallet and Marouard wrote.
Merer recorded the logs in the 27th year of Khufu's reign. His records say that the Great Pyramid was near completion, with much of the remaining work focusing on the construction of the limestone casing that covered the outside of the pyramid, Tallet and Marouard wrote.
The limestone used in this casing, according to the logbook, was quarried at Tura near modern-day Cairo, and was brought to the pyramid site by boat along the Nile River and a system of canals. One boat trip between Tura and the pyramid site took four days to complete, the logbook notes.
The logbook also says that in Khufu's 27th year, the construction of the Great Pyramid was being overseen by the vizier Ankhaf (also spelled Ankhhaf), the half- brother of Khufu. (A vizier was a high official in ancient Egypt who served the king.)
The papyri also reveal that one of the titles Ankhaf held was "chief for all the works of the king," Tallet and Marouard wrote in the journal article.
Though the logbook said Ankhaf was in charge during the pharaoh's 27th year, many scholars believe it's possible that another person, possibly the vizier Hemiunu, was in charge of pyramid building during the earlier part of Khufu's reign.
In the press release museum representatives did not specify how long the logbook will be on public display.
Summertime is about relaxation, barbecues, and warm weather.
And, apparently, UFOs.
In a series of memos dated all the way to the late 1940s, top CIA officials detail their mounting concern over extraterrestrial life descending upon us. One strange trend quickly emerged to those officials, and one that has remained constant in the 67 years since. Today, as they did in 1949, UFO sightings spike in the summer.
There are several theories about why this happens.

Cassidy Nicholas is the chief archivist for the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, an organization started in 1969 that looks into reported UFO sightings. She is perhaps the foremost expert on UFO sightings data, having handled thousands of investigations within the last several years.
Nicholas passed the MUFON data along to Tech Insider, which include sightings since 1960.
The trend is hard to notice at first, mostly because there only a few dozen reports each month for most of the 20th century. But between May and August the numbers do tend to climb.
It’s a trend that has gotten even easier to spot within the last decade, as more people have heard of MUFON and reported their UFO sightings.
Nicholas’ go-to explanation for this summer spike is pretty straightforward.
“[People] are noticing the weather, hiking, camping, doing outside activities,” she tells Tech Insider. “And there seems to be an increase in live events” like concerts, fireworks, and other community gatherings.
In other words, people are simply outside more in the summer, rather than hunched over their phones.
Other possible reasons include blockbuster movies and UFO-related TV shows released during the summer months. This could prime people to label a radio tower or a remote-controlled drone a UFO.
“It’s likely that the media and [alien-themed] movies that are coming out, like Apollo 18 andPaul, are piquing people’s interest in UFOs,” Clifford Clift, the international director of MUFON, told “Life’s Little Mysteries” in 2011.
Given how long the trend has persisted, however, it’s more likely that being outside is the primary reason for reporting.
A third explanation, of course, is that there are indeed more flying saucers in the sky between June and September, although MUFON has yet to confirm that is the case.
In honor of the summer ritual, Tech Insider dug through the mountain of CIA documents related to UFO sightings, which the agency declassified nearly 40 years ago. Many of the sighting reports date back to the early 1950s, at a time when political tensions were high and flying objects were seen as national security threats.
Here are some of the most interesting.
1. A memo on national security and the ‘vulnerability to air attack’ from flying saucers
CIA
On October 2, 1952, the Assistant Director in the Office of Scientific Intelligence sent a memo to the Director of the entire CIA with the subject “Flying Saucers.”
As the AD wrote, “‘Flying saucers’ pose two elements of danger which have national security implications. The first involves mass psychological considerations and the second concerns the vulnerability of the United States to air attack.”
The AD recommended more research be conducted to explore the “implications of the ‘flying saucer’ problem.”
(If you listen closely enough, you can almost hear them typing the word “drones” decades ahead of time.)
2. Uzbekistan’s mysterious light show
CIA
The late 1940s in the Uzbekistan capital city of Tashkent saw more unidentified light shows than it could count.
“From May to September 1947,” a CIA information report reads, “three light phenomena happening at intervals of about 15 minutes were seen almost every night between 9 and 10 p.m. local time.” At its highest point, the light seemed to be roughly a fifth the diameter of a full moon.
As the report details, the light always began as a bright red ball. Within seconds it would grow a fiery tail and then morph into a green, then white, mass.
“Smoke trails, noises, or detonations were not noticed.”
3. Fiery disks looming over Belgian uranium mines

A daily newspaper in Vienna, of all publications, reported on a peculiar sighting of “two fiery disks” hovering over uranium mines in mid-August, 1952.
As the report explains, the two objects supposedly tore through the airspace in a highly erratic fashion. At one point they would be soaring vertically away from the onlookers, and the next they’d be diving down “to within 20 meters of the tree tops.”
Commander Pierre of the local airfield took off in his own fighter plane to wrangle the unknown aircraft. However, “Pierre had to give up pursuit after 15 minutes since both disks, with a loud whistling sound which he heard despite the noise of his own plane, disappeared in a straight line toward Lake Tanganyika.”
Pierre later estimated the disks were traveling more than 900 miles per hour.
4. The CIA begins to have its doubts about UFOs

With all these reports coming in, it didn’t take long for the CIA to get suspicious. In August 1952 (keep in mind, still two months ahead of its memo on those two national security concerns), the Deputy Assistant Director of the Scientific Intelligence officereleased a memodiscounting the threat posed by UFOs.
“Of 1000 to 2000 such reports received by ATIC (Air Technical Intelligence Center), a large percentage are clearly ‘phoney,'” the report reads. In fact, many of the reported flights were easily explained as known missions using US equipment, the report went on.
Owing to the agency’s uncertainty, however, the Deputy AD recommended CIA surveillance continue on the mysterious “flying saucers” under the cover of darkness.
“It is strongly urged … that no indication of CIA interest or concern reach the press or public,” the report read, “in view of their probable alarmist tendencies to accept such interest as ‘confirmatory’ of the soundness of ‘unpublished facts’ in the hands of the U.S. government.”
5. Flying objects passing over Casablanca

In early September 1952, multiple sightings were reported of various UFOs over Casablanca, Morocco. Residents of the town, which was made famous by the 1942 film, saw two flying saucers that were “elongated in shape” and “followed by a trail of white light.”
On a separate occasion in July, two other people reported seeing a “blue-green, ball-shaped object” just before midnight “moving at a high rate of speed.” The mysterious object disappeared after only three or four seconds, however, “as though it had literally melted into the sky.”
The very next morning, another couple observed a mysterious object around 9 a.m. for roughly 30 seconds. Several more accounts, all with differing details, emerged that summer.
6. The East German flying saucers of 1952

The CIA published this internal document reporting on one German man’s fantastic account of a 45-foot-wide disk he spotted in a forest when his motorcycle broke down.
Accompanied by his 11-year-old daughter, the man approached the strange-looking object to find two men in “shiny metallic clothing” kneeling over the disk, which had a cone-shaped capsule on top.
Once the two men realized they were being watched, the man says, they hopped into the capsule and the disk began to leave the ground. Eventually, it rose high above the trees and took off.
“I had never heard of the term ‘flying saucer’ before I escaped from the Soviet Union into West Berlin,” the man later said. “When I saw this object, I immediately thought it was a new Soviet military machine.”
7. A year later, the unidentified aircraft is spotted in Morocco again…

On the night of September 2, 1953, residents of a small town southeast of Casablanca known as Oued Zem reported hearing a thunderous noise. The next morning, a pair of shepherds claimed to have seen a flying object that was “lighted in many colors and flying at great speed.”
The sightings followed two other incidents in July and August, one over Greece and another over Spain. Witnesses in Madrid described the UFO as “flying like a jet plane” but emitting a red reflection and creating no noise.
In Drama, Greece, residents said they saw a rocket-shaped object at low altitude, which stayed stationary for three to four minutes before disappearing into the night.
8. Europe can’t agree about what people are seeing in the sky

In the span of a month between April 15 and May 13, 1954,five separate reports from France and Sweden each described UFOs of a different size and shape.
The first, on April 15, involved an elongated, cone-shaped object with two red and green lights at its base. It flew at a high altitude.
The next, on April 26, was a “cigar-shaped object” observed by a group of people walking through France’s Sare region, near the Pyrenees border. The object was traveling at a high altitude — roughly 6,500 feet, the observers claimed — and heading toward Spain.
The final event took place the morning of May 13, in Sweden. Three people separately reported seeing a “brilliant, silver-colored sphere with a tail.”
“The object appeared to have a diameter of 15-20 meters (50-65 feet),” the CIA report stated. “After the workers had observed the object for a while, it suddenly flew away at great speed in a northwesternly direction.”
They were the only people who reported seeing the object, unfortunately for them. “They swear, however, that their report is true.”

The Most Mysterious Star in the Galaxy
The object known unofficially as Tabby’s Star dims every so often in a chaotic pattern—and nobody knows why.
Late last year, the PlanetHunters group of citizen-scientists found a perfectly ordinary star behaving very weirdly—fading in brightness every so often, by very different amounts, in a chaotic pattern. In a skillful paper, Tabatha (“Tabby”) Boyajian at Yale pointed out the horrible dilemma posed by the star, which is tucked up under the western wing of Cygnus the Swan. So instead of calling it by its forgettable catalog name, KIC 8462852, everyone now refers to it as Tabby’s Star. (Tabby herself tried to give the star the nickname “WTF Star,” as an acronym for “Where’s The Flux?” The more common usage of “WTF” is also appropriate.) She’s even done a TED talk about it.
I first heard about Tabby’s Star when a smirking colleague came in to the lunchroom and passed around some of Tabby’s plots. All I could do was look perplexed and open-mouthed. Between the astro-professors in the room, we had incredibly wide and deep experience, and none of us had ever seen anything even vaguely like this.
Tabby’s basic plot is a light curve, a measure of brightness as a function of time. Her 4-year light curve came from NASA’s Kepler spacecraft, already legendary for the accuracy and reliability of its light curves. The Kepler plot was basically flat, meaning that the star had a constant brightness, aside from a miniscule periodic modulation as typical of rotating stars that have starspots.
The kicker was that Tabby’s Star shows occasional dips in the light curve, and these are unlike anything ever seen. That is, the star’s brightness faded by a bit for, typically, one day at a time. About ten times, the star faded by 0.2 percent to 8 percent. Twice the dips dimmed the star by 16 percent and 21 percent. The basic dips had a duration of 1-3 days or so, but there is structure in the light curve up to ~100 days long. The dips are not periodic.
Now, Tabby’s star is otherwise a common F3 main-sequence star. That is a bit hotter (6750°K) than our Sun (5800°K), and a bit larger (1.58 times larger than our Sun). The spectrum shows no emission lines, and only the ordinary expected absorption lines. Tabby’s Star has no nearby binary companion that we can detect. This is just a plain normal everyday star. Except for the dips…
Astronomers understand big flaming balls of gases very well, and there is very high confidence that lone F3 main-sequence stars cannot have variations of more than 0.01 percent on any time scale shorter than millions of years. (Well, except for superflares, which these are not.) Further, the light curve dips are not modulated by the known stellar rotation. So the dips aren’t from the underlying star.
This forces us into thinking that they could only be due to something passing across the line of sight, blocking the background starlight (the technical term is “occulting”). After all, the PlanetHunters were explicitly looking for exactly this case, where some orbiting planet occults the star as it passes in front (the term for that is “transits”). But planet transits are always very small in amplitude (less than about one percent or so) and periodic. Whatever it is that is randomly passing in front of Tabby’s Star is not a planet.
The deepest dip dims the star by 21 percent, so whatever was covering up the starlight must have been covering at least 21 percent of the star’s area. This implies that the body, or cloud, or structure must have just under half the radius of the star—which makes it 70 percent the size of our Sun. Whatever it is, it might be solid (like a planet), gaseous (like a star or a gas cloud), or something like a cloud of dust.
The trouble is that any such idea requires that all of these things should be emitting large amounts of infrared light. It should be bright enough to be readily seen above the normal expected infrared light from the primary star. In astro-jargon, Tabby’s Star does not have any excess of infrared light.
So what is blocking out the light from Tabby’s Star? Well, an astronomer’s kneejerk reaction is to try to concoct some model that might explain the observations. We’ve all been tossing out ideas. The trouble is that our ideas founder on the lack of infrared excess. We can imagine accretion disks with flaring edges, or complex multiple star systems with improbable orbits, or vast streams of super-giant comets, or dusty asteroid-asteroid collisions. But all of these require an infrared excess. This includes the suggestion that the dips in brightness might be caused by some partially-constructed artificial “Dyson Sphere” built by a very advanced civilization around the star. But any hypothetical large-scale structures around the star must also emit a lot of light in the infrared, since they must radiate away the huge influx of energy that they intercept from the primary star. The laws of thermodynamics apply to them too
So the remaining viable models are now down to … none. Astronomers have no reasonable idea as to how to explain the dips in Tabby’s Star. But we know the dips are real because of the extraordinary accuracy and reliability of the Kepler spacecraft. So we have a mystery. And I have thought long, and I cannot come up with any other star more mysterious than Tabby’s Star.
When confronted with such an anomaly in very-well-established theory (that F3 main-sequence stars should not have such dips), the possibility arises that we are seeing the first example of some entirely new and unexpected phenomenon. And this is always exciting to astronomers. Who knows what startling wonders are being pointed at by Tabby’s Star?
So how to proceed? Well, looking at the star when there isn’t a dip going on is unlikely to tell us anything more than the background information that we’ve already worked out. So the only way to advance is to catch Tabby’s Star in the middle of a dip.
What I’d most like to see is a good spectrum of Tabby’s Star at mid-dip. The starlight, spread out into fine gradations of color, should tell us about the nature of whatever is producing the occultations. If the occulter is some sort of a dusty cloud, then the dimming will be greatest for blue light and least for red light, with the relative dimming across the colors being in a known and characteristic pattern. If this dust cloud has gas mixed in, then we should also see characteristic absorption lines at known colors, giving us the composition of the gas, and revealing the origin and nature of the cloud. If the light-blocker is solid, then all of the colors will dim by exactly the same amount. And we might even see some emission lines if there is some sort of stellar activity on the primary star. So all it takes is one good spectrum during a dip, and we’ll know the nature of the occulter.
There is a real practical problem here, however as Tabby’s Star has been in dip for only a total of a few weeks out of the four years of observations by Kepler. The dips are chaotic in time, so we cannot predict when any upcoming dip will happen. So the only way to get a spectrum during a dip is to have nearly continuous monitoring of the star’s brightness— and, when it starts to go into a dip, send out a worldwide alert. With such an alert, some observatory somewhere will be able to get a good spectrum within a day or so.
So this problem reduces to monitoring Tabby’s Star continuously, at nearly the hour-by-hour level, until it goes into another dip. That program takes a huge amount of telescope time. This is now only realistic for robotic telescopes spread out around the northern hemisphere.
Fortunately, the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope(LCOGT) network is perfect for the case. LCOGT has wonderful robotic telescopes at four sites in the northern hemisphere (two sites near their headquarters in Santa Barbara California, one on Haleakala in Hawaii, one on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and one at McDonald Observatory in Texas). With this kind of coverage, Tabby’s Star can be monitored near 24/7 for most of the year.
But it takes money to purchase time on LCOGT. Such a monitoring project does not fit in well with the usual program capabilities of the science support coming from NASA or the National Science Foundation. Government funding has been what has been driving the excellence in American science for many decades. But monitoring Tabby’s Star is a risky proposal, with no guaranteed return, because maybe there won’t be any dips for a long time to come.
So, being a modern person, Tabby has sought alternative, modern funding sources. This has led her to start a Kickstarter campaign. The idea is to crowd-fund the LCOGT monitoring program. She is seeking $100,000 before June 17. (I won’t benefit personally from any contributions, since they won’t fund any of my own research.)

Hij heeft een ruimteschip ontworpen met 10 tot 20 elektrisch geladen aluminium draden die zich als enorme tentakels van een kwal uitstrekken rond het ruimteschip.
De draden, die slechts een millimeter dik zijn, stoten lichtdeeltjes af, wat resulteert in aandrijving. Het ontwerp van Wiegmann wordt ook wel een ‘E-sail’ genoemd. Ieder draad zou zo’n 20 kilometer lang moeten zijn, waardoor het ruimteschip ongeveer net zo groot zou worden als een stad.
Risico’s
Het reizen in zo’n schip is niet zonder risico, vertelt professor Thomas Zurbuchen van de Universiteit van Michigan aan de BBC. “De draden zullen nog steeds zwaar zijn omdat ze bestaan uit metaal,” zegt hij. “Als ze worden geraakt door een micrometeoriet zullen ze knappen.”

Mysterieuze dreunen in Californië stellen lokale bewoners voor een raadsel en leiden tot veel complottheorieën. Iedere werkdag is in het stadje tussen 11.00 en 14.00 uur een donderend geluid te horen.
De oorzaak van de mysterieuze dreunen blijft een mysterie. Mogelijke verklaringen lopen uiteen van mijnoperaties tot aliens. Leraar en geoloog Glen White heeft het geluid uitgebreid onderzocht. Hij vertelde aan KXTV-TV dat het geluid volgens hem afkomstig is van bommen en granaten die tot ontploffing worden gebracht.
Niet overtuigd
White denkt dat de explosies afkomstig zijn van een legerdepot buiten Hawthorne in Nevada, op bijna 200 kilometer van Sonora. Op die locatie wordt oude munitie onschadelijk gemaakt. “Ze vernietigen onder meer bommen en granaten,” legde hij uit.

Mysterie

One of the most mysterious and well-documented UFO landings took place on a farm near Delphos, Kansas on November 2, 1971. Physical evidence was recorded and preserved for analysis by the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO). This case not only left the farm residents scratching their heads, but also left UFO researchers, police, and members of the media dumbfounded by the events.
According to APRO records and several reports written by head UFO physical-trace investigator Ted Phillips, the incident began around 7 p.m., while sixteen-year-old Ronnie Johnson was tending the sheep with his dog. Ronald’s mother remembers calling out to her son to come to dinner, to which Ronnie replied that he would be in soon. At about this time, Ronnie heard a rumbling noise and looked up to see an extremely bright object about seventy-five feet away. The light was so intense that he had trouble making out the texture of the object, but he could make out a short-stemmed mushroom shape. The entire object was illuminated appearing to be a mass of multicolored lights.

Ronnie estimated the object to be nine feet wide and ten feet high. It hovered a couple of feet above the ground, with the bottom of the object appearing to illuminate the brightest. Ronnie described the sound as similar to a washing machine.

Ronnie remembers his dog staying perfectly still and not making a sound, while the sheep were disturbed and bellowing. The animals had lasting effects. For weeks after the incident, the sheep would jump out of their pens. Ronnie’s dog was also afraid of being outside at night and would scratch at the door frantically for several days after the incident.
After watching the object for about five minutes, Ronnie says the light below the object intensified, and it began to lift up. The light was so bright that it began to hurt his eyes. Ronnie’s eyes were irritated for some time after the incident.
The object quickly flew over a nearby shed, avoiding a collision by only a few feet. The rumbling sound changed to a high-pitched jet noise as it flew off.
At this point, Ronnie completely lost his vision, but could still hear the object moving into the distance. After a couple minutes, his vision came back and he could see the light now high in the sky. He heard his mother call him again, and he ran into the house to get his parents. At first they did not believe his story, but eventually went out to take a look. Once outside, they saw a bright light in the sky that was about half the size of the moon and continued to get smaller as it moved away out of view.
APRO investigator Clancy Tull, a lawyer from Kansas City, Missouri, questioned the family and found an interesting disparity in time spans noted by the witnesses. Mrs. Johnson said that, after she had called Ronnie to come in for dinner the first time, her and her husband had leisurely finished their meal before calling Ronnie again—some thirty minutes later. Ronnie could not account for these thirty minutes; to him, it seemed to be only about five minutes.
After the object had left, Ronnie and his parents went to examine the area over which the object had been hovering. They found a glowing ring on the ground and glowing areas on the nearby trees. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson touched the glowing ground and felt numbness in their fingers. Mrs. Johnson tried to wipe the dirt off her fingers onto her leg, which then also felt numb. The numbness in her fingers lasted for several days.

Mrs. Johnson said that the ground felt cool, even while it glowed. She also described the ground as slick and crusty. After touching the ground, Mrs. Johnson ran inside to get her camera. She took a picture of the glowing ground. Mr. Johnson called the local paper, the Delphos Republican.
The next day, Mr. Johnson and Ronnie went to talk to Delphos Republican reporter Thaddia Smith. They told her their story and showed her the picture. Still skeptical, but with a piqued curiosity, she decided to visit the farm. Her husband and son-in-law were also curious, so they accompanied her.
The ring in the ground impressed Smith. She said, “Upon arriving at the scene, I knew instantly that something had left evidence that it had been there.” There had been recent rains, and she noted that the ring area was dry even though the ground in the middle and outside of the ring was muddy. She also observed branches that appeared to have been broken by the object and a tree that she believed was crushed from the take-off or landing of the object.

Back in the office, she called the local weather radar to find out if they had observed any unknown objects, but unfortunately the weather radar had not been on that night. Smith then called a local radio station to inform them of the incident. Finally, Smith called Ottawa County Sheriff Ralph Enlow, who began an investigation.
Researcher Ted Phillips obtained the Sheriff’s report on the incident along with the report that Smith had provided the Sheriff. The Sheriff’s report stated that officers went to the Johnson farm and took statements from the family. The officers observed the ring and noted the dryness of the ground that made up the ring as compared to the ground in the middle and surrounding the ring. They also noted the broken branches and a discoloration of some of the affected trees.
Representatives of the Sheriff’s office said that they checked radiation levels and determined that the ground was not radioactive. They also took soil samples. The soil was described as “almost white in color and very dry.” The Sheriff’s office’s report ended with a note about another sighting seen in the area at the same time as the sighting on the Johnsons’ farm.
Phillips’ investigation into the Delphos landing and the statements issued from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Thaddia Smith were printed in the September 1985 journal of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Phillips reported that, thirty-two days after the event, he went out to conduct his investigation. He called Sheriff Enlow to make him aware of his plans; the Sheriff was waiting for Phillips when he arrived in town. Sheriff Enlow gave Phillips the soil sample and accompanied him out to the Johnsons’ farm.
Upon meeting the Johnsons, Phillips found them to be “very pleasant and calm, not really excited about their unusual experience, but quite curious as what the UFO may have been and what could have produced a ground marking such as the one found at the alleged landing site.” The Johnsons recounted their story and then took Phillips to the landing area.

It had recently snowed in Delphos, Kansas, so the ground was wet and muddy, with areas of standing water. Phillips was amazed to see that the ring was still visible. The snow on the ring had not melted, although the ground in the middle of the ring and surrounding it was wet and muddy. When the snow was moved aside, the ground was dry and light brown. Phillips tried pouring water on the ring, but it would not permit the water to pass through the surface.
Phillips then took samples of the soil, finding a large amount of a white substance that was not in the surrounding soil. He also found that the ground in the ring was dry to a depth of about twelve inches.
Phillips then took a look at the trees in the surrounding area. He found the dead tree that had fallen over and observed that it could have been knocked over during the departure or arrival of an object. He discussed with Sheriff Enlow the possibility that the tree could have been pulled over by vandals, but they both agreed that they would have found evidence of this, such as chain marks on the tree. He also noted the broken branches, which were consistent with Ronnie’s report. If there was an object at the location reported by Ronnie, the object could not have taken-off straight up, because there were branches over the area that were not broken. There were trees to the north and east of the site, which further confirmed that the entrance and departure could only have been the way Ronnie described.
During his second visit to Delphos, Phillips discussed the case further with Sheriff Enlow. The Sheriff said that he didn’t believe the event was a hoax. He went so far as to write Phillips a written statement that in part said, “In reference to the UFO sighting at the Johnson residence near Delphos, Kansas on November 2, 1971. The Johnsons are lifetime residents of Ottawa County and the Delphos community. They are well-known and well-respected by officers from this department. It is the opinion of this Officer that the information given by them would be accurate to the best of their knowledge.”
Sheriff Enlow also commented on the separate sighting report he had received: “In reference to the UFO sighting on November 2, 1971 by Lester Ernsbarger of Minneapolis, Kansas. Mr. Ernsbarger is an employee of the Minneapolis Street Department and a reserve Police Officer with the Minneapolis Police Department. I feel that his information would be accurate to the best of his knowledge.”
Phillips then went to visit Thaddia Smith again. She said that her visit to the Johnsons’ farm took place on the evening of November 3. She said that her and her husband could distinctly see the glowing of the ring. She included in her statement that, “in the area around and inside the circle there was nothing but darkness giving a person an eerie feeling.” She continued, “The Johnson family, having lived in the Delphos Community their entire life, are respected, truthful, conscientious, trustworthy, and a well-thought-of typical hardworking Kansas farm family.”
While the soil analysis failed to reveal any abnormal findings, the white substance had not been identified. UFO researcher and author Jacques Vallee tackled this issue in his book, Dimensions: A Casebook of Alien Contact. There, he noted that white substances had been found in anomalous rings before. He was able to obtain a sample of the soil from the Delphos ring, which he sent to a biological laboratory in France. The substance was determined to be an organic organism related to Actinomycetales, which Vallee describes as “an intermediate organism between bacteria and fungus.” Actinomycetales is often found with a fungus called Basidiomycetes, which can fluoresce under certain circumstances.
Some speculate that the object that landed in Delphos somehow affected the ground so as to accelerate the growth of the Actinomycetales. Others believe that this is evidence of a much more prosaic answer—a natural phenomenon called a “fairy ring,” in which a grove of mushrooms grow in a ring pattern. While skeptics believe that the glowing ring seen on the ground at the Johnsons’ farm was a fairy ring that was present before Ronnie’s sighting. The only problem with this theory is that fairy rings are connected to a fungus called Mycelium, not to Actinomycetales, the organism found in the ground at Delphos.
Professional skeptic Phillip Klass suspected that the Delphos case was a hoax. He believed that the ring in the ground was a result of a water trough used by the sheep that was at the location of the circle for many years. He alleged that years of sheep urinating around the trough was the most likely cause of the circle, and that once the trough was moved, the circle remained.
Because of Ted Phillips’ careful preservation of the soil samples from Delphos, another analysis was performed in 1999 by Phyllis Budinger, a chemist and retired research scientist for BP/Amoco. She found an unusually high concentration of Oxalic acid. Budinger’s report included a possible explanation of the existence of Oxalic acid offered by her colleague, Dr. J. Robert Mooney: “Exhaust from a low temperature ionization or combustion engine (whose fuel source was elemental carbon) could leave a high concentration of the acid along with other lower molecularweight acids.”

I attended the 2010 MUFON Symposium in Denver and, while there, caught up with Dr. Frank Salisbury, who holds a Ph.D in both plant physiology and geochemistry. He was part of a board of scientists, made up largely of APRO consultants, put together by the National Inquirer to determine the most believable UFO cases from a scientific perspective. In 1973, as a result of the scientists’ designation of the Delphos incident as the best UFO case, the National Inquirer awarded the Johnsons five-thousand dollars. Nonetheless, Dr. Salisbury told me that he still believes that it is possible that the Delphos story was a hoax perpetrated solely for the purpose of obtaining the National Inquirer award.
Thirty-nine years later, the Delphos landing is still controversial. It says a lot that the local press and police believed that the incident at the Johnsons’ farm was not a hoax. Delphos remains one of the most interesting alleged UFO landing cases.

Also it looks like it some letters from the alphabet in it. This probably isn't alien made. And add that to the fact that more crop circles come out of Wiltshire in one year, that from any four countries in the world added up. This is an amazingly large underwater base in the Gulf of California. It measures over 125 km long (76 miles). The long tubular structures measure 2.4 miles wide (4km). This base is huge and its no wonder why we hear about so many UFO sightings over Mexico. This base is just 45 miles away from the Mexican coast! The chances of this being a intelligently made structure...I put that at 100%. This needs exploring with some RC sub drones. I'm sure anyone could make one or buy one, but making one would be cheaper. This has to be explored guys...it just has to be. It so close, so accessible that it must be investigated closer. Maybe the Discovery channel, History Channel, or Natural Geographic would fund such a mission to make a show.
For example, the Red Planet is so far away that any landing sequences cannot be controlled in real time from Earth. Touchdowns must therefore occur automatically, requiring spacecraft to have a smart computer on board.
Spacecraft have also gotten heavier and heavier over the years, forcing engineers to come up with new ways to get the precious science cargo down through the thin Martian atmosphere. [The Best (And Worst) Mars Landings in History]
The first spacecraft to reach the Red Planet was Mars 2, but it didn't survive the landing. The Soviet probe hit the surface of Mars hard on Nov. 27, 1971 and did not respond to repeated attempts to hail it.
A follow-up mission with the same design, Mars 3, landed successfully on Dec. 2, 1971. Mars 3 sent a signal from the surface, but communications halted abruptly and nobody heard from it again.
The Mars 2 and Mars 3 landers both separated from their orbiting spacecraft at about 28,580 miles (46,000 kilometers) from Mars, according to V.G. Perminov's "The Difficult Road to Mars: A Brief History of Mars Exploration in the Soviet Union," which is available on the NASA website.
After entering the Martian atmosphere, the landers deployed an auxiliary parachute to slow down, then employed a main parachute. The design called for a soft-landing engine to be turned on at 52 feet to 98 feet (16 to 30 meters) above the Martian surface.
The landers would then be severed from the parachute when their descent speed dropped below 14 mph (23 km/h). The landers were supposed to hit the surface at less than 27 mph (43 km/h); a "displacement bag" beneath them would absorb some of the shock. The aeroshell cover over the landers would be jettisoned after hitting the surface using compressed air inside the displacement bag.
Viking 1 was the first NASA craft to make it to the surface of Mars, and its sister Viking 2 followed suit 6 weeks later, on Sept. 3, 1976. The Viking landers both launched with an orbiter. These spacecraft were very successful, transmitting a variety of data back to Earth until the Viking 1 lander died in November 1982.
The design for Viking 1 and 2 called for the landers to separate from their orbiter mates. About 4 miles (6 km) above the surface, the Vikings deployed a parachute and jettisoned their protective aeroshells.
Each spacecraft jettisoned the chute, then fired up onboard retro-rockets at an altitude of about 5,000 feet (1,500 m). The rockets slowed the landers down and made sure they were facing in the right direction. Each landing happened at a speed of about 4.5 mph (7 km/h). Powered rocket landings were also used for NASA's (unsuccessful) Mars Polar Lander mission in 1999, and the agency's Phoenix polar lander in 2008.
In June 1995, NASA engineers tested multi-lobed air bags designed to protect the Mars Pathfinder spacecraft during its Red Planet landing.

3. Parachutes, retro-rockets and airbags
The airbag landing method has been used for multiple Mars missions, mostly by NASA. Below is a sample sequence from the Mars Exploration Rover (Spirit and Opportunity) mission design, as described by NASA. This technique was sometimes referred to as "six minutes of terror."
After cruising to Mars in a protective shield, the rover separated to head to the surface. It entered the Martian atmosphere and deployed its parachute four minutes later, when it was 30,000 feet (9,100 m) above the surface and travelling at 1,000 mph (1,600 km/h).
Next, the craft jettisoned its heat shield, and the lander separated from the back shell, while still attached to the back shell (and parachute) with a tether. At about 8,000 feet (2,400 m) above the surface, the landing system calculated when to fire retro-rockets to almost stop the descent. Next, airbags would inflate to cushion the spacecraft.
At about 40 feet (12 m) above the surface, the landing speed would be nearly zero. The airbag-shrouded lander was then cut from the back shell and parachute to bounce on the surface, until it rolled to a stop.
Airbags were first pioneered with NASA's Pathfinder mission, which landed on Mars with its rover Sojourner in 1996. The method was so successful that it was used for the Spirit and Opportunity rovers, which landed on Mars in 2004. Spirit died in a sand trap in 2010, while Opportunity is still operating today. Opportunity has traveled farther than any other vehicle on the surface of another world, racking up more than a marathon's worth of miles on its odometer.
Airbags were also used for the European Space Agency's Beagle 2 lander, which touched down in December 2003 but did not return any science data from the surface, and Russia's Mars 96 mission, which failed during its 1996 launch.
NASA had to devise a new landing method for its car-size Curiosity rover, which weighed 1 ton here on Earth — far more than any previous Red Planet surface craft. So agency engineers came up with the "sky crane" strategy, also known as "seven minutes of terror."
Like Martian landers before it, Curiosity used a parachute to slow down its descent after hitting the Martian atmosphere. The parachute was about 10 percent larger than Spirit and Opportunity's parachutes, because Curiosity is so much heavier.
After the parachute slowed Curiosity down, the rocket-powered descent stage (sky crane) separated from the backshell. Four engines on the descent stage further slowed the descent while a tether lowered the rover to the ground. When the computer sensed the rover had achieved touchdown, it cut the tether. The sky crane then flew off and crash-landed on the surface a safe distance away.
This incredibly complex maneuver worked perfectly during Curiosity's highly anticipated August 2012 touchdown. So NASA will use a similar design for its upcoming Mars 2020 rover, which should reach the Red Planet's surface in 2021. A brief summary of the sequence is available on the NASA website.

5. Penetrators
While penetrators haven't been successfully demonstrated on Mars yet, they are a method for smaller and less delicate spacecraft to hit the surface and burrow inside. Penetrators were carried on the Russian Mars 96 mission and NASA's Mars Polar Lander (MPL) mission, neither of which made it safely to the Red Planet's surface.
On MPL, the penetrators were together called Deep Space 2 and nicknamed Scott and Amundsen, after famous explorers of Earth's polar regions.According to NASA, the penetrators were supposed to separate from MPL during the landing sequence and impact the surface at 357 mph to 447 mph (575 to 719 km/h). A protective shell would shatter upon landing, and the probes would burrow up to 3.3 feet (1 m) below the surface. The probes never communicated with NASA, for reasons that remain unknown.

EXTRAORDINARY claims have been made that UFO investigators are being killed by so-called men in black have been made after the mysterious death of a 32-year-old newly married alien researcher.
Gaurav Tiwari was found at his Dwarka flat in northwestern India under what has been reported as “mysterious circumstances”.It has led to new claims that as many as “dozens” of other UFO investigators have died in suspicious circumstances over the years.The Times of India reported that Mr Tiwari’s death was treated as suicide.But relatives say as a newlywed he had no reason to end his life and that he seemed normal in the run up to his death.
According to father, Uday Tiwari, he was drinking coffee with his wife when there was a loud thud from the bathroom.
They found him unresponsive on the floor and he could not be revived.
Police said a black line was found around his neck, leading to a conclusion of asphyxia.
Another theory was he fell hitting his head and inflicting a fatal wound.
An autopsy is due, with an inquest, also being awaited.
Mr Tiwari senior, did however, reveal that his son told his wife weeks before his death “a negative force was pulling him towards it.”
The grieving dad said: “We don’t believe in ghosts etc, but his death has left us shocked and puzzled.”
His son had founded the Indian Paranormal Society, and took part in regular TV shows.
It is claimed mysterious “men in black” are behind UFO expert deaths.He also investigated thousands of haunted sites,Conspiracy theorists have already moved to connect the tragedy to a series of other deaths of UFO researchers both explained and unexplained.Professor G Cope Schellhorn has posted a list of allegedly suspicious deaths of UFO researchers at Metatech.org.He says more than five dozen UFO researchers, investigators, authors, alien contactees and military personnel have died of heart attacks, sudden onset of cancers, and supposed suicides.
His list followed that of a special investigative piece on UFOs in Saga magazine in 1971 when author and comic legend Otto Binder chronicled the “suspicious” deaths of 137 UFO investigators in the previous 10 years.
Opinions are split within ufology on the substance of these claims, with only hardcore conspiracy theorists believing secret men in black working for government agencies like the CIA are actually bumping people off.
Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, said these sorts of claims predated 1971.
He said: “Deaths related to UFOs go right back to when Kenneth Arnold first saw a fleet of UFOs in June 1947 and brought about a worldwide wave of ‘flying saucer’ sightings. A bizarre set of tragic circumstances surrounded the so-called Maury Island case.
“This involved the sighting of six doughnut shaped UFOs by Harold Dahl, that dropped hot slag like material onto his boat, burning his arm and killing his dog in the process. The next day his employer, Fred Lee Crisman, visited Maury Island where he found tons of debris and saw another UFO in the area.”
Kenneth Arnold was called in to investigate the sighting, and feeling out of his depth he invited two Air Force Intelligence agents, Captain Davidson and Lieutenant Brown to help him interview the witnesses.
They weren’t impressed with the validity of the sighting, but took away samples of the debris for analysis.
As they were returning to their base at Hamilton Field, California, the port engine of their B-25 aircraft caught fire and they were killed when he crashed near Kelso, Washington State.
An anonymous caller to the local newspaper, named the victims before the crash was made public and claimed the aircraft was shot down by a 20mm cannon because it was carrying fragments of a flying saucer.
Two men and a dog had been killed, and Kenneth Arnold was nearly added to the list. When he took off from Tacoma, his engine failed and he had to make a crash landing.
On checking his aircraft, he found that his fuel valve had been switched off.
Paul Lance, a reporter for the Tacoma Times, who covered this story, died suddenly two weeks later of meningitis.
Mr Watson added: “Ufologists today now think this was an elaborate hoax that got out of hand, and could have been instigated by a US intelligence agency to discredit Kenneth Arnold’s original sighting.
“The story gets even more complicated when we consider that Fred Lee Crisman in October 1968 was subpoenaed to go before the Grand Jury in charge of investigating the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
“District Attorney Jim Garrison’s enquiry thought he resembled one of the three tramps arrested near Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas, on the day of the assassination and believed he was a long-standing CIA employee.
“Furthermore, according to UFO conspiracy theory, the CIA killed President Kennedy because he wanted to share UFO secrets with the Soviet Union.
“In addition, Marilyn Monroe was allegedly murdered because she was speaking too freely about UFOs.
“The night before her death she had spoken to the TV celebrity columnist Dorothy Kilgallen about the Roswell saucer crash of 1947.
“Kilgallen subsequently died under mysterious circumstances on 8 November 1965.
“This shows how these various deaths can be woven together to support the idea that the truth about UFOs and alien visitations is being suppressed and discredited.”
Mr Watson said many of these cases could be coincidences or people trying to make something out of nothing. He added: “There are certainly some strange incidents, for example, UFO researcher Philip Schneider’s became increasingly fearful for his personal safety; ‘government vans’ followed him and several attempts were made to run his car off the road.
“Eventually, his worst fears were confirmed in January 1996. A friend broke into his apartment in Willsonville, Oregon, where his dead body had been rotting for several days.
“At first, it was thought he had died from a stroke, and then an autopsy found that rubber tubing had been wrapped and knotted around his neck.”
The official verdict was suicide but his former wife, Cynthia, and several friends could not accept this.
He was found with his legs under his bed and his head resting on the seat of his wheelchair – an unusual position for a suicide – and there was blood nearby that did not seem to be Schneider’s.
His lecture material and UFO writings were missing from the apartment, yet valuables had gone untouched.
But Mr Watson is not convinced UFO researchers are repeatedly being bumped off.
He added: “Government agencies could be at work but it seems very extreme to murder people, especially over decades, when there are easier ways to discredit UFO researchers.
“Another theory is that mysterious Men in Black and the aliens themselves are behind these murders to eliminate anyone who gets to close to the truth about their operations.”

Unexplained by current models, its existence might lead to the discovery of a whole new set of particles and possibly even a fifth fundamental force.
The first results were not enough to confirm the particle exists, but now the new particle could be confirmed within the next few weeks.

THE ELUSIVE PARTICLE
Two of the detectors at the Large Hadron Collider - ATLAS and CMS - were searching for new kinds of physics by counting particle decays that ended up in two photons.
Measuring photons is a way of detecting new and unknown events because photons are easy to detect and physicists know what to expect in terms of results from background events.
When particles decay into photons, they release energy equivalent to their mass multiplied by the speed of light squared.
The measurements saw photons with a combined energy of 750 GeV, making the potential particle six times heavier than the Higgs boson.
If it turns out to be real, and not just a blip in the measurements, this would be a huge discovery.
'It would be something completely beyond the Standard Model, and the tip of an iceberg of a large new set of particles, if it exists!', the researchers said.
In data produced last December at the LHC in Geneva, two separate measurements found what looked like a particle six time heavier than the Higgs boson.
If it turns out to be real, and not just a blip in the measurements, this would be a huge discovery.
'We should have enough data by mid-July to either confirm the result or place serious doubt on its existence,' Professor James Olsen, CMS physics coordinator and a physicist at Princeton, told MailOnline.
'The CMS plan is to have an updated result using the 2016 data by the ICHEP conference in Chicago (starting Aug 3), although this timescale could be accelerated if the LHC outperforms expectations.'
According to Dr Michele Redi. a research scientist at INFN Florence, writing in Scientific American, the hints of the new particle might be confirmed 'within just a few weeks, or possibly even within days.'
'If the bump is real, we are about to start writing a whole new chapter in the history of fundamental physics,' Dr Redi said.
'It is impossible to imagine where this could lead.
'We could know the answer very, very soon.'
'The LHC is in good shape, therefore delivering collisions and new data to the experiments,' a spokeman from CERN told MailOnline.
'It is clear that the ATLAS and CMS collaborations plan to analyze these data in preparation for the big conference of the year - ICHEP 2016 Chicago - early August - so in case they have enough data and there is something new, it should be known by then or just before.
'I would say it will still take a few weeks before we can provide an update about "the bump" as analyzing the data requires some careful work.'

We’re all familiar with Einstein’s most famous equation, and this observation is it in action. This means the particle that produced these photons is an as yet unknown with this exact amount of energy in the form of its mass.
‘It weighs about 750 GeV, corresponding to about six times heavier than the Higgs boson, and almost 800 times heavier than the proton,’ said Ellis.
It was a similar 'bump' that gave the first hints to the Higgs boson.
But the difference now is that the existence of the Higgs boson had already been predicted.
This new particle, if it exists, has not been predicted by the Standard Model, so would open up physicists to a whole new unexplored world and could lead to the discovery of a new set of particles.
In December last year the two observations, in the ATLAS and CMS detectors, hinted at a new particle six times heavier than the Higgs boson. The LHC will start making more collisions next month, April 2016, and experts can expect confirmation or refutation in the summer

But the observations seen so far are not enough to confirm the existence of a particle.
The CERN physicists need to make sure the observations were not just down to chance, so it comes down to collecting much more data and waiting to see if the particle is spotted again.
Some remain unconvinced.
'Indeed, I don't see yet statistically convincing bumps that would point to the existence of a new particle in the LHC data,' Professor Patrick Janot, working on the CMS detector at CERN told MailOnline.
The LHC started making more collisions in April, and the results that might confirm or refute the existence of this particle could be available soon.
'You will hear solid statements in summer,' Professor Janot said back in March, 'when a lot more data than in 2015 are accumulated at 13 TeV.'
A massive X-shaped structure made of stars was spotted at the heart of the Milky Way, which could give scientists new insight into how the galaxy was formed.
X MARKS THE SPOT
A tweet posted by astronomer Dustin Lang from the University of Toronto led to scientists investigating a three-dimensional bulge at the heart of the Milky Way’s flat structure.
“The bulge is a key signature of formation of the Milky Way,” Melissa Ness, a post doctoral researcher from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Germany notes. “If we understand the bulge we will understand the key processes that have formed and shaped our galaxy.”
The bulge is evidence that no other major astronomical event since the Milky Way was formed has taken place—otherwise, the distinctive ‘X’ shape would not have been maintained. And its discovery could possibly spur a deeper understanding of how the galaxy was formed.
“The X-shape morphology of the bulge in itself and the fraction of bulge stars that comprise orbits within this structure has important implications for the formation history of the Milky Way … and spiral galaxies in general,” Ness and Lang published in a paper.
Other scientists, such as Luke Davies of the International Centre of Radio Astronomy Research, are quick to point out that while the data was “reasonably compelling;” however, at the present time, the pair working on it hasn’t really done anything to truly study the X-shaped structure.
To that end, this is just “the first evidence we have for it, and there should be lots more detailed observations to confirm it before you say it’s irrefutable,”as Davies adds
He does however, agree that the existence of such an X-shaped structure would indeed tell us all about how the Milky Way galaxy was formed.

Former Canadian Minister of Defense Paul Hellyer stated that media around the globe has avoided touching the UFO/Extraterrestrial subject.
Paul Hellyer is just one of the many ex-officials, including former NASA employees, military officers, or scientists who have come forward in the last years claiming to have seen proof of Alien visitations to Earth.
Paul Hellyer was the Canadian Minister of National Defense in the 1960 and is responsible for combining the Canadian Air Force, Navy, and Army into what is known today as the Canadian Forces.
Interestingly, he is yet another highly ranked government official who has come forward speaking out about Alien visitations on Earth.
Soon after he retired, Mr. Hellyer joined the disclosure movement and began ‘blowing the whistle’ on UFO’s and extraterrestrial beings.
Interestingly, his testimony is BACKED UP by hundreds of different highly ranking military official political leaders around the globe. However, in addition to that, everything Mr. Hellyer has talked about in the past has been backed up by countless declassified documents which detailedly describe aliens and their space vehicles.
During one speech, Mr. Hellyer recalls the following:
” In one of the cases during the cold war, 1961, there were about 50 UFOs in formation flying South from Russia across Europe. In an interview with CTV, Mr. Hellyer said that: “Much of the media won’t touch it. “So you just have to keep working away and hope that someday you get a critical mass, and they will say, in one way or another, ‘Mr. President or Mr. Prime Minister, we want the truth, and we want it now because it affects our lives.”
Around 80 different species of extraterrestrial beings are visiting our planet. Mr. Hellyer claims that most of the alien visitors are harmless, but some of them have ulterior goals.

Yet another former government official has made confessions about Aliens and UFOs. In the last couple of years countless highly ranked officials have come forward with information detailing alien visitations and extraterrestrial spacecraft.
A newly surfaced report states that the former government emergency expert detailedly described the interior of an alien flying saucer inside the tops Secret Area 51 Military Base in the United States.
According to Paul Hellyer, the former Canadian Minister of Defense a former Canadian Chief of Emergency Mesures released ASTONISHING details of alien crafts before his death.
Mr. Hellyer, who is 92, revealed the details to a panel of the world’s most prestigious UFO investigators.
During a speaking at the “Hearing on ET Disclosure” in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Hellyer said that if HE wanted to find out more about the workings of an Alien Space Craft hew would as the ‘current chief of emergency measures.’

Paul Hellyer is the highest ranking person among all g8 countries to speak openly about UFOs and extraterrestrials.

Mr. Hellyer claims to have seen proof of Alien visitations while in office said that: “The reason I know is I interviewed the previous one, who is now deceased, and he went Langley and the CIA asked if he would like to see one of these crafts.
“They flew him to Area 51 and let him go inside one and observe it and make notes and this sort of thing.”
For years numerous conspiracy theories have revolved around Area 51 which was only confirmed to exist by the government in 2013.
Mr Hellyer added: “I guess Presumably, it was to be in better to cops with it if one crashed here and he was involved in trying to do something positive about it.
“But before he was allowed to go had to go he had to sign an oath of secrecy and not tell anyone, and during his life he didn’t tell anyone including his wife, and an Air Force buddy phoned me, and he was dying of Lou Gehrig’s disease and at that point he felt he should tell someone.
“I phoned him, and he gave me a full report of what he saw and the whole idea of the inside of the craft and this sort of thing, and the fact he had been in a brief and many things, but now he felt he could tell somebody, and he thought that would be a good one to tell.”

“It was (the Clementine Mission) a photo reconnaissance mission basically to check out if someone was building bases on the moon that we didn’t know about. Were they expanding them?”
“Of all the pictures I’ve seen from the moon that show possible structures, the most impressive is an image of a mile wide recto-linear structure. This looked unmistakably artificial, and it shouldn’t be there. As somebody in the space defense community, I look on any such structure on the moon with great concern because it isn’t ours, there’s no way we could have built such a thing. It means someone else is up there.”
Dr. Brandenburg additionally stated that once the Clementine mission was completed, the images taken from the moon were analyzed by ‘an elite department team with the highest security clearance’:
“… They basically kept to themselves and just did their work, and we were told not to interfere with them…”
Interestingly, Brandenburg was also quoted saying:
“We were aware there was a possibility of an unknown presence, possibly alien/extraterrestrial near the Earth…”
Brandenburg recounted one occasion:
“…There I am sitting in a room of retired army and air force generals and a few admirals, and we’re watching what looks like a firefight in space. The most senior general there … turned to me and said, “Where do you think they’re from?” and I said, “I don’t know sir, I’ve heard they’re from 40 light years from here.”
But in addition to the comments made by Dr. Brandenburg, there are many other substantial pieces of evidence that link advanced extraterrestrial civilizations to Earth’s moon.
