UFO Competes With Blue Angels At Air show In Florida, Photos, UFO Sighting News
Date of sighting: 3-22-2016, reported today Location of sighting: Pensacola, Florida, USA Source: MUFON #80068 This UFO was caught shooting past the Blue Angeles a few months ago. Alien craft are often attracted to planes and jets because aliens want to learn about the most advanced and fastest methods of travel we have on Earth. Jets offer them a lot of fun for several reasons. First they see the technology. Second they get to see them doing acrobatic manoeuvres. Third, they get to test their UFO to see if the UFO is capable of doing the same manoeuvres or not, which is what the UFO is doing in the photo above.
The close up of the UFO shows that it has many windows in it, which means its not a drone, and it has many people. The size of the UFO looks to be the same of the plane, however the thickness would indicate that the aliens are only about 1 foot or less tall. Scott C. Waring
Eyewitness states:
Went to watch the Blue Angels practice in Pensacola. UFO showed up in one of my photos and appears to be traveling very fast. Never saw it with my naked eye.
How The Universe Would Look If You Could See Radio Waves
How The Universe Would Look If You Could See Radio Waves
The word “spectacular” comes to mind.
David FreemanManaging Editor of Impact & Innovation, The Huffington Post
Maybe you’ve always wondered what the universe would look like if you could see radio waves ― or maybe not. Either way, you’ll be wowed by this extraordinary new view of the cosmos as seen by the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) radio telescope in the Australian outback.
Even astronomers are awed by the view, a product of the Galactic and Extragalactic All-Sky MWA (GLEAM) survey of 300,000 galaxies in frequencies from 70 to 230 megahertz.
Those frequencies are invisible to the naked eye.
“The human eye sees by comparing brightness in three different primary colors ― red, green and blue,” Dr. Natasha Hurley-Walker, an early career research fellow at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) in Bentley, Western Australia, and the lead author of a new paper describing the the survey, said in a press statement. “GLEAM does rather better than that, viewing the sky in 20 primary colors.”
For an even more spectacular viewing experience, the “Gleamoscope” tool (below) lets you see the universe as it appears across the electromagnetic spectrum ― from radio waves and microwaves, to far-infrared and visible light, to X-rays and gamma rays.
Hurley-Walker and her collaborators are interested in more than just pretty pictures, as you might imagine.
“Large sky surveys like this are extremely valuable to scientists and they’re used across many areas of astrophysics, often in ways the original researchers could never have imagined,” ICRAR astronomer Dr. Randall Wayth, a co-author of the paper, said in the statement.
Dr. Jay Pasachoff, an astronomer at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, called the GLEAM survey “important research” in an email to The Huffington Post. He added, “It’s great that there are new radio telescopes ... that are mapping the radio waves that come from celestial objects at finer resolutions than we had before.”
Yale astrophysicist Dr. Meg Urry gave a similar assessment of the GLEAM research. In an email to HuffPost, she called it “a gold mine for scientists interested in many different areas.”
The GLEAM astronomers are using the survey to find out what happens when clusters of galaxies collide, Hurley-Walker said, adding that they’re also able to see remnants of explosions from the oldest stars and supermassive black holes’ “last gasp.”
Of course, the real gasps will be the ones from the people who see the image.
SHOCKING! SCIENTISTS REVEAL THE UNIVERSE COULD DELETE ITSELF AT ANY MOMENT
SHOCKING! SCIENTISTS REVEAL THE UNIVERSE COULD DELETE ITSELF AT ANY MOMENT!
The end of everything is nearing us all! Or perhaps not, but we won't know when it's here.
It's a mysterious universe we are living in, so magnificent and complex that researchers and experts have come up with hundreds of theories on how it originated, how it works and when it ends.
The infinite questions that we hold about the universe will keep us thrilled for the rest of our lives, and the universe will probably end before we can even figure it out.
We fear the universe will trigger either a Big Crunch or a Big Rip during it's course, colliding into a singularity state or ripping itself apart.
Scientists have revealed that the universe could delete itself, without anyone even noticing it. Experts believe that our universe has reached it's lowest state with every particle in existence except for the "Higs Field".
The Sun’s Mysterious Tilt Gets A Surprising Explanation
The Sun’s Mysterious Tilt Gets A Surprising Explanation
Astronomers point to Planet Nine.
David FreemanManaging Editor of Impact & Innovation, The Huffington Post
For more than a century and a half, astronomers have known that the sun is tilted.
That is, the sun rotates on an axis that isn’t quite perpendicular to the orbits of Earth and the other major planets ― all of which lie in the same plane because all formed out of a disk-shaped cloud of gas and dust that was spinning around the sun early in the solar system’s 4.6-billion-year history.
But no one has ever come up with a convincing explanation for this peculiar tilt ― until now.
Planet Nine is thought to be about 10 times bigger than Earth and about 500 times farther from the sun, according to Space.com. Its orbit is believed to be inclined at an angle of about 30 degrees from the other planets’ orbital plane.
This cockeyed orbit means that Planet Nine’s gravitational forces have been tugging on the other planets in a way that has gradually caused their orbital plane to shift.
“Because Planet Nine is so massive and has an orbit tilted compared to the other planets, the solar system has no choice but to slowly twist out of alignment,” Elizabeth Bailey, a graduate student at Caltech and the study’s lead author, said in a press statement.
The sun’s spin axis has a tilt of about 6 degrees off the orbital plane of the major planets. And when the scientists calculated how much of a tilt Planet Nine would have caused, they came up with the same number. Mystery solved!
Of course, technically speaking, the sun only appears tilted from our perspective.
“What’s actually going on is that the sun is staying put in its fixed reference frame and it’s the planetary orbits that are being tilted by Planet Nine,” study co-author Konstantin Batygin, an assistant professor of planetary science at Caltech, told Astronomy magazine. “So Planet Nine has tilted the entire disk of the solar system by 6 degrees and because we live on that disk...to us it looks like the sun is tilted, but it’s actually the other way around.”
But if that’s the explanation for the sun’s apparent tilt, what explains Planet Nine’s bizarre orbit?
There are several possible explanations, Batygin told The Huffington Post. The likeliest, he said, is that early in the solar system’s history, gravitational forces from a star not far from the sun pulled Planet Nine from the orbital plane that until then it had shared with the other planets.
Of course, that’s not proven. Nor has it been proven that Planet Nine actually exists.
“It’s not firmly established that Planet Nine is there, because we’ve never seen it,” Batygin said. “Am I certain that it’s there? Absolutely.”
And proof could be on the way. Batygin said several groups of astronomers are searching for Planet Nine using some of the world’s biggest telescopes.
How ny drones does it take to screw in a light bulb? Apparently two, and about nine smashed bulbs (hey, progress requires risks), according to the description of a fascinating video uploaded to YouTube Sunday.
The video shows a quadcopter attempting to replacing a ceiling’s light bulb, while putting a new spin on the worn-out joke, and highlighting how we could one day keep the lights on.
During the drone’s first attempt, the remote-controlled flyer struggles to connect with the bulb and crashes to the ground. (It wiped out pretty good, which we think could be when the second drone came into play.) After multiple tries the drone successfully grasps the bulb with its three prongs. Just a few spins later, it unscrews the bulb.
The drone then carries a replacement bulb up to the outlet before taking another spin to secure it in place. This last step proves to be the easiest and soon the bulb is glowing.
What other hard-to-reach light fixtures could drones one day maintain for us? The future is clearly bright.ma
Area 51, the Bermuda Triangle, Roswell. Why are the most famous UFO mysteries so United States-centric? Movies probably have a lot to do with it.
In fact, it was the Independence Day Resurgence home release last week that got us thinking — what about Australia?
Our overseas mates might be surprised to learn that Australia can really hold its own when it comes to spooky UFO reports and abduction testimonies. With mass sightings, "alien hot spots” and even a mysterious oceanic triangle of its own; Down Under has its fair share of alien stories to tell around the camp fire.
Want to hear some? It's almost Halloween, after all. Granted, it's not a holiday directly associated with aliens but you get it. *insert spooky synth sounds*
Mary Rodwell is the founder and principal of the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network, and she's the person you call when you spot a potential UFO, FYI. Especially since the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) officially stopped looking into reported sightings in the '90s. She says that it's due to Australia's large size and small population that you don't hear about UFO sightings more.
She told Mashable: "A lot of the time so we don't get it [UFO sightings] recorded or people don't want to talk about it, particularly in more isolated places where farmers see stuff, as they do, and have that experience.
"I have people contacting me every week ... So this isn't just dear old America here, this is everywhere," she said.
While it may be happening everywhere and on the regular, there are some definite Aussie stand outs when it comes to UFO tales. And thanks to Rodwell, we have some leads on the best ones. You're welcome!
1. Mass sighting at Westall High School
The Westall incident is often referred to on the dark corners of the web (where Angel Fire websites dwell), as Australia's most significant mass UFO sightings. It occurred in 1966 at Westall High School in Melbourne. Over 100 students, teachers and members of the public claimed to have seen three metallic objects in the sky, hovering closely.
Afterwards, witnessed claimed they were paid a visit by "men in black" and teachers said they were told to dismiss the incident by police and military authorities. A case of mass hysteria, or something more? *X Files theme tune plays softly in the background*
2. Frederick Valentich, the pilot that vanished
Okay, this is a doozy. in 1978, a 20-year-old pilot and UFO enthusiast named Frederich Valentich was flying over the Bass Strait (separating Tasmania and mainland Australia) when he radioed air traffic control in Melbourne.
In the transmission, the young man describes an object hovering 300 metres (1,000 feet) above him and said it was "not an aircraft." He made statements like "it has a green light and a sort of metallic light on the outside," and "It’s coming for me right now," before his signal was lost. His plane disappeared without a trace. *mystery intensifies*
These nice YouTubers have recorded a reenactment of the transmission.
3. Kelly Cahill, X Files inspiration
Australian woman with the pseudonym "Kelly Cahill" was referenced in the first rebooted episode of the X Files, because that's how cool her case is. In 1993, she and her husband were driving though the Dandenong Ranges when they saw a big ol' "blimp" thing and went to get a closer look.
Next minute, Cahill wakes up in her own car feeling oddly relaxed. The couple returned home only to realise they'd lost an hour and creepily, that Cahill had a painful triangular mark near her bellybutton. Over the next few weeks, she experienced flashbacks, eventually appearing on TV programme Today Tonight (of course) to tell the story of her abduction.
4. The case of the Knowles family
Believers like Mary Rodwell say the 1988 experience of Faye Knowles and her three sons (and their two dogs) is one of the most significant "close encounter" testimonies ever.
Also reportedly involving several witnesses, the story goes involves the family witnessing an egg-like, bright structure. They then went on a high-speed car chase against the object, climaxing with the family's car being lifted from the road as weird black dust, high-pitched sound and a horrible smell overwhelmed the car. "I felt like my brain was being sucked out," said eldest son Patrick at the time. *dun dun DUN*
5. Wycliffe Well, self-described UFO capital
UFO hobbyists rejoice! Australia's got its own tiny town chock full of cute alien signposts. It's a great place for a road-side Instagram. Wycliffe Well is found in the Northern Territory and it calls itself the UFO capital of Australia.
While the idea that it actually experiences "nightly UFO sightings" is up for debate, there's no doubt that it's got the quirkiest caravan park for miles around.
While it's cool to think about road tripping to Australia's UFO hotspots, according to Rodwell, if extra terrestrial beings want to contact you, they'll damn well find a way.
"There does seem to be certain places where craft are seen that little bit more often," she says, "but to be quite honest with you if you're someone they're interested in they can pick you up ... It can be a huge craft above Sydney that you would never see but it would be there if it needs to be…"
Better keep those eyes peeled, earthlings. The truth is out (back) there.

French town upholds UFO ban, flying saucers will be impounded
French town upholds UFO ban, flying saucers will be impounded
It may be among the most popular destinations for human tourists but aliens will have to holiday elsewhere, as the mayor of idyllic French town Châteauneuf-du-Pape refuses to lift a ban against UFOs in the area.
"Any aircraft, known as flying saucer or flying cigar, which should land on the territory of the community will be immediately held in custody," the upheld law reads, introduced in 1954 after a man in the area claimed to see two beings dressed like “deep sea divers” emerging from a “cigar-shaped” space-ship, according to France Bleu.
"I'm not going to touch the ban," mayor Claude Avril told France Bleu, attributing the bizarre law to “making a buzz” for the town
The ban, introduced by then-mayor Lucien Young, was praised as brilliant marketing by his son Elie Jeune who said "At that time, people were talking a lot about extra-terrestrials and the unknown, it was in fashion, and there were loads of stories circulating."
"He wanted to make a bit of an advertisement for Châteauneuf,” he added. “It was an excellent publicity stunt... and free."
A Californian vineyard “Cigare Volante,” whose name was inspired by the ban, is proof of his father's plan paying off, along with the fact that no pesky aliens or UFOs have been spotted in the area since.
The town has maintained its quintessential French look, refusing to cave in to tacky tourism. No alien gift shops or UFO tours are visible in the area, with the French deciding to leave that task to Roswell, New Mexico.

Mysterious 'Dark Energy' May Not Exist, Study Claims
Mysterious 'Dark Energy' May Not Exist, Study Claims
By Mike Wall, Space.com Senior Writer
The universe may not be expanding at an accelerating rate after all, meaning that mysterious "dark energy" might not actually exist, according to a new study.
This is quite the claim. In 2011, three cosmologists from two research teams won the Nobel Prize in physics for independently showing that distant Type Ia supernovas, which are a kind of exploding star, are moving away from Earth faster than nearby ones are.
These surprising results, which were published in the late 1990s, strongly suggested that some strange force must be spreading space-time apart. If no such force exists, the reasoning goes, then the expansion of the universe that began with the Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago should not be accelerating. Instead, it should be decreasing, slowed by the collective gravitational pull of all the galaxies, black holes and other matter in the cosmos. [Dark Energy: The Mystery Explained (Infographic)]
This hypothetical dispersive force came to be known as dark energy, because astronomers didn't really know what it was (and still don't, as a matter of fact).
But the new study, which was published online Friday (Oct. 21) in the journal Scientific Reports, questions this Nobel Prize-winning conclusion. Lead author J.T. Nielsen, of the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and his colleagues analyzed 740 Type Ia supernovas using a different theoretical framework than the one that the two research teams employed in the 1990s. (The previous work also looked at just 70 or so Type Ia supernovas, Nielsen's team pointed out.)
The new analysis found just "marginal evidence" for the concept of dark energy and accelerating expansion.
"The evidence for accelerated expansion is, at most, what physicists call '3 sigma.' This is far short of the 5-sigma standard required to claim a discovery of fundamental significance," co-author Subir Sarkar, of Oxford University in England, said in a statement.
"So it is quite possible that we are being misled, and that the apparent manifestation of dark energy is a consequence of analyzing the data in an oversimplified theoretical model — one that was in fact constructed in the 1930s, long before there was any real data," Sarkar added.
Sarkar acknowledged that "a lot of work will be necessary to convince the physics community" that this latter possibility could actually reflect reality. This appraisal seems to be accurate; there has indeed been pushback from other astronomers.
One skeptic is Paul Sutter, an astrophysicist at The Ohio State University (and a contributor to Space.com's "Expert Voices" section). For starters, Sutter thinks that Nielsen et al. shouldn't be so dismissive of the statistical link that they found.
"I don't know, 3 sigma is pretty great to me," he told Space.com. "Their paper very clearly points to a universe with dark energy."
While Sutter agreed with Sarkar that a 3-sigma detection is not entirely convincing by itself, he stressed that the motion of Type Ia supernovas is far from the only evidence supporting the existence of dark energy. Sutter cited, among other things, oscillations in the cosmic microwave background (the ancient light left over from the Big Bang); observations of large-scale structure in the universe; and "baryon acoustic oscillations," which are odd fluctuations in the density of matter.
"If we had a universe with no dark energy, those features would have disappeared long ago," Sutter said. "We have scads of evidence — multiple and independent probes — that all point to a universe with dark energy. And the authors [of the new study] try to just kind of hand wave this stuff away."
Sutter said that the new paper should help scientists better understand how to use supernova data to get a better handle on dark energy. But he thinks the authors made an unwarranted leap in suggesting that, as Sarkar put it, "a key pillar of the standard cosmological model is rather shaky."
"If you took out the strong claims that the authors are trying to make, it's an interesting nuts-and-bolts methodology paper," Sutter said. "But it doesn't really even begin to rock the foundations of modern cosmology."
On Sunday, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk took to Reddit to answer further questions about the forecasted mission to Mars. The first manned mission to Mars will have just “about a dozen people.” Musk has previously said that the likelihood of death on the first mission will be “very high,” which means that these twelve souls, if they make it to the Red Planet, will become legitimate heroes.
Musk’s Ask Me Anything took place within the SpaceX subreddit, so many of the responses were fairly technical. He spent about an hour answering questions; there were 5,371 comments, 15 of which came from Musk himself. With a few of his responses, however, we can glean details about the early missions, the first settlers’ roles, and the habitations.
A rendering of the Interplanetary Transport System as it approaches Mars.
To start, Musk said that the first missions “will be heavily weighted towards cargo.” It’s part of his four-step program to colonize: The first two steps are unmanned, logistical missions to perfect landing, test water extraction, and drop off equipment. But the first manned mission, he said, would have “about a dozen people.” (In 2012, Musk said that the first manned mission would have fewer than 10 people; it would seem that he’s changed his mind.) They will travel “with equipment to build rudimentary base, and complete the propellant plant.” These audacious experts will be the first-ever interplanetary humans, and they’ll make the voyage knowing that odds of death are high. Their priority will be to “build out and troubleshoot the propellant plant and Mars Base Alpha power system.”
And these dozen people will need to be ready to die. “I think the first trips to Mars are going to be really, very dangerous,” he said at the International Astronautical Conference (IAC) in September. “The risk of fatality will be high. There is just no way around it. It would basically be, ‘Are you prepared to die?’ Then, if that’s OK, then you’re a candidate for going.” It’ll be like The Right Stuff, except even more daring. And, no matter what happens, it’s safe to assume that this baker’s dozen will be deified back on Earth.
Later missions, after the proto-colony is established, will be crewed with about a hundred legitimate settlers. Moving forward, SpaceX will seek to “double the number of flights with each Earth-Mars orbital rendezvous, which is every 26 months, until the city can grow by itself,” Musk wrote. At the IAC, when he outlined the journey’s specifics, Musk said that passengers onboard would be treated to luxurious living, such that make the approximately 80-day trip more pleasant.
“It has to be fun or exciting. It can’t be cramped or boring,” he said. The colonists’ living space, then, will include zero-gravity games, a restaurant, and movies. “Will aim to release details of the habitation section when we have actual live mockups. Maybe in a year or two,” he wrote.
SpaceX has a lot of ground to cover before it begins populating the red soil: It hopes to begin colonization within a decade, but, on Reddit, Musk admitted that SpaceX has yet to master most phases of the project — excluding, perhaps, the “starting engines.” Let’s hope that fewer than 10 years is enough time for SpaceX engineers to master the rest of the process. It’s just rocket science, after all.
Surprise! Cold Gas 'Halos' Found Around Brightest Objects in Universe
Surprise! Cold Gas 'Halos' Found Around Brightest Objects in Universe
By Elizabeth Howell, Space.com Contributor
Gas halos around distant galaxies are colder and more common than previously believed, a new study suggests. The finding could force astronomers to rethink some of their theories about galaxy formation.
Researchers examined 19 quasars, or galaxies with very active supermassive black holes at their centers, using the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile. You can see a video of the quasar halos here. Quasar black holes eat huge amounts of nearby material, such as gas and stars, very quickly, causing the galaxy centers to blast out large amounts of radiation. This makes quasars the most luminous objects in the universe.
Previous studies had found that about 10 percent of all quasars have halos, which are made of gas from the intergalactic medium and extend up to 300,000 light-years from the quasars' cores. So the astronomers were surprised to find halos around all 19 of their study objects. [Distant Quasar Lights Up Galactic Halo (Video)]
"It is still too early to say if this is due to our new observational technique or if there is something peculiar about the quasars in our sample," study lead author Elena Borisova, an astrophysics professor at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, said in a statement, referring to the group's use of a relatively new instrument on the VLT called MUSE (Multi-Unit Spectroscopic Explorer).
"So there is still a lot to learn; we are just at the beginning of a new era of discoveries," Borisova added.
The survey held another surprise as well: The newly studied halos have temperatures of around 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit (10,000 degrees Celsius).
"This revelation is in strong disagreement with currently accepted models of the structure and formation of galaxies, which suggest that gas in such close proximity to galaxies should have temperatures upwards of a million degrees [Celsius; 1.8 million degrees F]," European Southern Observatory representatives said in the same statement.
A paper based on the research will appear in the Astrophysical Journal.
UFO Crashes In Saudi Arabia After Being Hit With Surface To Air Missile
UFO Crashes In Saudi Arabia After Being Hit With Surface To Air Missile
A tremendous noise was heard in the sky on October 19, Wednesday, after evening prayers in Saudi Arabia. Then the sighting of an intense, large light followed. It was heading from the west over a region located in the east of Riyadh.
Residents did not think it was a meteor because it didn’t look like it. They said that it was a blue, green shooting out green flashes. A 40-year-old witness, who introduced himself as Khalid, stated that they were baffled as no one has ever seen anything like it.
Before going south toward the Yemeni desert, the UFO changed course multiple times. A rebel shot the UFO using a low altitude surface to air missile system with a passive infrared homing guidance and high explosive warhead. In contrast to the general idea of UFOs, which typically so advanced that any sophisticated weapons on Earth would find a hard time to take them down, this particular UFO was taken down with just a single shot.
The location of the crash site was immediately determined. A Saudi helicopter revealed an aerial photograph along with the story and embedded location. The location is a dessert located about 220 miles north and slightly east of Al Mukalla. However, it is not determined on what happen to the alien in the photo.
No report about the incident in the west, but it was witnessed as far as Kuwait. Residents in the region where the object was reportedly heading claimed they heard an explosion and felt a tremor as if something had crashed.
The Saudi government has allegedly sealed the area, which borders Yemen, but has not released information regarding the alleged crash site. Houthi rebels have been in rebellion against the Yemen government that started in 2015. Rebel sources claimed one of their men fired at the UFO using a shoulder type 9K-32 Strelka and brought down the unknown aerial thing.

Anew image captured by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter this week further illustrate exactly what happened during the Schiaparelli lander’s crash onto the surface of Mars last week. By the looks of the impact and the formation of patterns characteristic of a small crater, the new image provides more support that Schiaparelli’s thrusters shut off prematurely and caused the lander to experience a fatal drop to the ground.
Last Thursday, MRO was able to snap a few photos of the presumed site where Schiaparelli was thought to have landed, using its low-resolution CTX camera. Those images were the first evidence to suggest Schiaparelli exploded as it landed on Mars, but ESA officials were more eager to see what MRO could find using HiRISE, the highest-resolution camera onboard the orbiter.
The latest image, taken October 25 by HiRISE, shows three impact locations that are within 0.9 miles of each other — areas where Schiaparelli’s hardware hit the dirt.
This Oct. 25, 2016, image from the HiRISE camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows the area where the Europe's Schiaparelli test lander struck Mars, with magnified insets of three sites where spacecraft components hit the ground. It adds detail not seen in earlier imaging of the site.
The dark, circular feature is where the spacecraft itself seems to have landed. A series of rays protruding from that site are indicative of a hard landing like a meteorite. Earlier this week, an ESA official expressed his hunch that a computer glitch caused Schiaparelli’s thrusters to shut down early — and the HiRISE image bolsters that theory.
An asymmetric amount of debris at the crash site seems to have been strewn into one location. In a news release, ESA says its possible that a hydrazine propellant tank blew up in a specific direction upon impact.
The lander’s heat shield seems to have landed about 0.8 miles to the east, and the parachute just 0.8 miles south of the crash site. Both items were ejected from Schiaparelli earlier than they were supposed to be, at an altitude between 1.2 and 2.5 miles.
MRO will be collecting more images in the next couple of weeks, and ESA hopes analysis of those photos will help flesh out the investigation behind Schiaparelli’s lost contact more clearly. It’s still unclear exactly what would have caused the landers thrusters to shut down early.
The next time you see a moth, dragonfly, or other winged insect, go in for a closer look. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has been developing insect cyborgs for the past seven-plus decades, and a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from San Jose State University Lecturer Dr. Susan Maret’s blog “secrecy {fragments}” shows just how sophisticated these futuristic, dystopian bug drones have become.
Over a year after Maret’s FOIA request, DARPA sent back 88 pages, most of which were Powerpoint slides. Since the 1940s, DARPA’s toiled to develop Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). It didn’t take long for engineers to realize that the key to effective MAVs was right in front of their eyes: Nature’s own insects — and, in some cases, winged mammals — were ideal case studies to be mimicked and, in some designs, enslaved. These engineers, along with DARPA’s numerous contractors and subsidized academic institutions, began developing HI-MEMS — Hybrid Insect Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems.
Yikes.
In the paper’s conclusion, the authors write: “We also showed down-and up-stroke actuation of each wing separately, through which we were able to affect the flight direction of Manduca sexta. This work paves the way for future engineering approaches to utilize the bioelectronic interfaces, especially for realizing insect cyborgs.” In the acknowledgements, the researchers thank DARPA’s HI-MEMS program for single-handedly footing the bill.
Eight years have passed since these researchers’ insect cyborgs first took flight. It could well be that these cyborg bugs already fly among us, or patrol far-off battlefields. Or maybe they remain an unfulfilled prophecy. Regardless, like the cicadas, they’re bound to rise soon enough.
There are four main approaches to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI), and we tend to channel most of our energy and resources into only one of them: electromagnetic signals.
EM signals are special transmissions of radio and/or light that could have been generated by aliens. But, as Forbes noted recently, we also have the ability to study gravitational wave signals, neutrino signals, and macroscopic probes — and it would be a mistake to ignore these pieces in the hunt for other lifeforms.
We focus on EM signals, in part, because we believe that aliens might be like us: They’ve discovered how to harness the energy of radio waves, and are able to push those signals out into space. Groups like the SETI Institute, and METI International, are dedicated to surveying optical and radio signals and parsing them for signs of alien life (spoiler: pretty much never aliens). They remain the most promising indication we can conceive of — and act on — in terms of locating alien-built civilizations and megastructures. Still, sometimes you want to keep your options open.
LIGO's direction plan for gravitational waves, which may clue us in to the whereabouts of aliens.
Gravitational wave signals
The technology to measure gravitational waves, is helping us to understand the age and origin of the universe. But if aliens have outfitted their home planet with loads and loads of satellites, then we might be able to pick up those satellites with gravitational wave detectors. This is a nascent field, full of nascent technology — we only detected gravitational waves for the first time last year, after a century of searching for them — but it’s absolutely worth keeping an eye on. Unlike EM signals, gravitational signals don’t degrade. As we continue to make technological breakthroughs, this field might increasingly become the one we turn to for our alien-hunting projects.
Neutrino signals
If you believe nuclear power is the future (for aliens, not just us), then this is the theory for you. Nuclear fusion produces a neutrino signature that would be immediately identifiable as artificial, as opposed to naturally occurring (like what the Large Hadron Collider is capable of doing).
Neutrinos are still the second-most common particle in the universe after photons. If we can calibrate our technology precisely enough to search for that signal, we should be able to pick it up pretty much anywhere.
Macrobiotic space probes
This encompasses everything from small satellites to giant stellar megastructures. As Forbes explained, this one is the most fun to imagine, but probably the least valid from a scientific standpoint. Stars are really far apart, guys! Even if aliens were building probes and launching them directly at Earth, the chances that we’d be able to find them are slim. We’re better off surveying large swaths of sky for signals like the ones above, or, when possible, looking at the surface of promising exoplanets to see if they’ve been altered in some way.

MUFON International tracking multiple triangle UFO reports
MUFON International tracking multiple triangle UFO reports
Four triangle UFO cases were reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) international desk in recent months from Switzerland, New Zealand, Canada and Iran.
A Switzerland witness at Neuchatel recalled an incident from March 2011 when he and his wife were sitting in the living room of their apartment at Rue de la Cote.
“My wife sat under a side window of the room from where you can see the Rue Auguste Bachelin,” the witness stated.“It was already dark outside and there were nearly no cars in that road anymore. There is anyway not much traffic in that road. It was very silent outside and inside we had no light switched on as we were watching TV. It is impossible that this is any reflection from the inside. Then I turned around to talk to my wife and I saw a huge triangle with three lights under each corner.”
The Switzerland witness in Case 78921 submitted this illustration of the triangle UFO seen in 2011.

The witness described the object.
“It was approximately 15-20 meters wide and maybe 1.5 meters high. The edges were rounded and there were no windows or anything to see. Maybe there was something on the top, but that was not visible from that angle. The object was flying/hovering maybe 10 meters or lower from west to east, following the street.”
The witness was able to watch the object for between 10 and 20 seconds.
“The speed was very low, but I cannot tell how fast it was. It seemed to me like it was searching something like a police helicopter, but it was sure no helicopter. I am a FPV drone pilot myself and I know how a helicopter flies and that it has to make a lot of sound when flying so low. Surface was black matte without any symbols or markings as far as I have seen it.”
The witness submitted one illustration with the report.
“The next week I have searched in Google for a triangle UFO and it looks nearly exactly like the one described in the ‘Belgium UFO Wave’ from 1989 but without the red light in the middle. My wife asked me what was wrong, but before I could answer the object was gone. She was making jokes of me so I didn’t talk to anybody about that until now. But I am nearly sure that someone else must have seen it. Please let me know if there are other reports so I know I am not crazy.”
MUFON International CAG team member Wolfgang Stelzig closed this case as an Unknown.
A New Zealand witness at Christchurch recalled a UFO event from 1990 when a V-shaped UFO about 120 feet long moved overhead on November 12.
“I could see the struts quite clearly,” the witness stated.“It was the shape of electrical pylons on its side. As it passed over there was no noise. I could see part of blue light /disc upfront and two light blue lights at the rear.”
A New Zealand witness said the triangle UFO had blue lights. Pictured: Christchurch, New Zealand.

The witness explained his position.
“We lived on Cashmere Hills quite high up. After viewing this object for about 20 minutes, I asked my wife to get the video camera. I filmed it for 10 minutes. It somehow turned into a circular light jumping all over the place.”
The object the moved toward the witness.
“When the craft passed over, it was a huge triangle shape with light blue discs on the rear and front. There was no noise.”
The witness stated that he was later visited by “three men in suits” and questioned about the events. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report.
New Zealand MUFON National Director and STAR Team Member Roger Stankovic is investigating.
A Canadian witness at Estevan reported being overcome with fear after watching two, triangle-shaped UFOs move to the ground level at 8:15 p.m. on August 20, 2016. The witness was at his kitchen table when the lights on the objects caught his eye.

“They formed a triangle,” the witness stated.“There was a bright, orange-red light at the corner of each of them forming a triangle. These triangles that were formed were big. The size, location, and what had appeared they were doing scared me. They were floating, came down to the ground and appeared to be doing something. They were there for some time.”
The witness watched for about 20 minutes.
“I stopped watching them and closed the curtains. I felt that if I continued to watch them, that they would sense my presence there, even perhaps pick up on what I was thinking. At first I thought that a couple of semi-trucks took a wrong turn and had to turn around on our property. As I kept watching I soon realized I was wrong. I was stricken with fear and panic as I had watched what they were doing. I tried to calm myself. I was so worried that they would sense my presence being so close.”
Canadian MUFON Field Investigator Peter Derrick is investigating.
An Iranian witness at Shiraz reported watching a triangle UFO emitting an intense, red light that quickly disappeared about 3:30 a.m. on September 14, 2016.
The Iranian witness said the low flying triangle UFO shone blue light on the area below. Pictured: Shiraz is in southwestern Iran.

“I was awake studying for my post PhD exam,” the witness stated.“I did what I used to do every night. I went out in front of the house and stood right beside the dry river that is just in front of the house. That is when it happened. I saw a red light in distance. It came closer and closer. OMG, I still get goosebumps when I think about it. I couldn’t move at all. I mean I was just like a statue staring at that thing. I am usually very brave compared to my friends and family, but that was the most frightening event of my life.”
The witness said the object was emitting light.
“It then started scattering a red light over the area. I mean everywhere was red. After a minute, it came up and just disappeared in a second. I mean, the way it disappeared was even scary, like blinking. I have never said this to anyone because I think it will probably sound crazy. I didn’t know what to do, who to tell. I just found this site and reported what happened. I also never went back to that spot for smoking. Anyway, just writing about it here made me feel better already. Thank you.”
MUFON International is investigating.
Please remember that most UFO sightings can be explained as something natural or man-made. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.
UFO landing and strange occupants reported in Normanton, West Yorkshire, England
UFO landing and strange occupantsreported in Normanton, West Yorkshire, England
When I look back now, I am amazed to find that I have been involved in UFO research & investigation for thirty years. Over those years I have been a member of six UFO groups, four of which were in the UK and two overseas. I’ve always had an interest in all things ‘paranormal’ but for some reason UFOs gained my full attention in the late 1970’s. I’ve been asked many times which UFO case most impresses me. Is it the UFO crash at Roswell, or the events at Rendlesham forest in l980? My answer to this question is none of those. It is without a doubt, the UFO case that has most impressed me is one that I investigated with Mark Birdsall when we were both part of the Yorkshire UFO Society. Mark now owns and edits the successful ‘EYE SPY’ magazine and he was part of the hugely successful UFO MAGAZINE with his late bother Graham Birdsall for many years. I doubt if you have ever heard of the following case that Mark and I investigated, but I remember interviewing the witnesses like it was only yesterday.
The following account was first published in the July/August issue of QUEST magazine, at the time the hand printed publication of the Yorkshire UFO Society (YUFOS).
Quest Magazine in 1986. The original hand made publication that detailed the UFO landing at Normanton.
On Friday the 13th of October 1986, I had been featured in the regional newspaper, the Wakefield Express. The article in question told of my involvement with YUFOS and it encouraged its readers to report any UFO sightings to us. We had a number of observations reported to us, but one stood out among the others. I was telephoned by a lady by the name of Mrs. Westerman. She began by stating that “I wouldn’t believe her.” She repeated this several times before she eventually told me that herself and a number of her children had witnessed the landing of a UFO near her house in Normanton, West Yorkshire a few years earlier complete with humanoid occupants outside it in a nearby field. I quickly took her contact details and along with Mark Birdsall arranged an appointment to see her and conduct an interview.
It wasn’t long before Mark Birdsall and I interviewed her at her home in Normanton. There were seven witnesses to the events in question, six of whom were the children of Mrs. Westerman. In l986, Normanton had a large mining community all of which has gone now. It lies just a few miles outside of the city of Wakefield and the M62 and M1 motorways run close by.
Mrs. Westerman stated that the date of the incident was the summer of l979. She could not remember the date, but speculated that it could have been May or June. Mrs. Westerman went on to inform us that on the day in question she was at home doing the washing. It was a sunny afternoon and a perfect day to get the washing done. Her children were outside playing a ball game and enjoying the sun. They were not on school holiday, so it must have been a weekend.
It was around mid-afternoon when her eight year old daughter suddenly ran into the house shouting and crying and telling her mother to “come quick, an aeroplane had just landed in the field.” The Westerman’s house was an elevated property and was near the end of a cul-de-sac, Beyond that were some fields which contained electricity pylons. Mrs. Westerman switched off her washing machine and ran outside. Just a matter of a few hundred yards away, in the fields adjacent to her house, she saw an object on the ground. It was a dull grey colour and had the appearance of a ‘Mexican hat.’ Around the object stood three very tall ‘men,’ all appeared to be dressed in silver suits. These men seemed to be pointing at a dark instrument on the ground. The children and Mrs. Westerman made there way over the field towards this object and stopped at a fence. The men walked to the rear of the object and it rose vertically, stopped in mid air, and then shot off at an angle at a high rate of speed. Needless to say they were speechless.
Original artist impression: Featured in the 1986 publication is this on-site sketch of the entities by Mark Birdsall.
This was a brief description given by Mrs. Westerman but we also took advantage of speaking to some of the children as well. Unlike Mrs. Westerman, they had actually seen the object come in to land as well. The children were interviewed separately and their story was very consistent. This is what they had to say:
The children had been playing ball behind the house where Mrs. Westerman lived. Eight year old Sandra told us how the ball they were playing with had been thrown up into the air as part of the game. As she went to catch the ball, she observed a strange object in the sky. Sandra shouted to the rest of the children to look and pointed skyward. They all observed a silvery coloured object, disc-shaped, with a rim around the perimeter. The object was at a low level and was seen just above the electricity pylons. It suddenly stopped in mid-air just a few hundred feet up, hovered for a few seconds, before slowly landing in the field. Sandra immediately set off at this point to get her mother.
While Sandra went to fetch her mother, the other children ran towards the landed object but stopped when they reached a fence that enclosed the field. The object itself wasn’t very big, perhaps as long as a large Volvo car. However, the ‘men’ around the object all seemed to be very tall, and the object in their hand looked similar to a torch. These three very tall humanoids had been seen to emerge from the rear of the landed object. Their heads and face were covered by some kind of ‘visor.’ Their silver suits had no zippers, buttons or seems, they had glove or mittens covering their hands and were wearing a wedged shaped boot. None of these men appeared to communicate with each other and their actions were slow and precise.
It was at this point that Mrs. Westerman and her daughter Sandra caught up with the other children. They continued to observe this strange spectacle for about a minute or so. Suddenly, one of the humanoid figures looked up and noticed Mrs. Westerman and the children all standing behind the fence. Now these three very tall men quickly walked away behind the object and were never seen again. A few seconds later the object silently rose from the ground, stopped in mid air, before moving off at an angle at high speed. All seven individuals were amazed by what they had just seen and Mrs. Westerman, the only adult there, had to calm the children down. All seven witnesses hardly spoke about this incident down the years and had never told anyone outside of the family about it until relating it to me and Mark Birdsall.

All six children related similar accounts to us. There were minor discrepancies, but we expected to find that from different people, and several tears after it had happened. All of the children were of the opinion that the dark object the men had in their hands and were moving about looked like a torch, but it had no light and made no sound. The ‘uniforms’ the men were wearing were metallic silver and it would crease when the men moved. All of the witnesses stated quite clearly that both upon landing and departure this object never made a sound.
The location of this event is interesting. The field lies at the end of the houses, which in turn are part of a large housing estate. There are many electricity pylons in the field making it very difficult for such things as helicopters to land. At our interview, a young man by the name of Andrew Lewis was invited to attend by Mrs. Westerman. He was a friend of the children at the time and although he did not observe anything unusual himself, he arrived shortly afterwards and confirmed how excited they all were. Another friend was Danny Shore. He was one of the seven original witnesses and was thirteen years old at the time. He estimated that the whole incident last no more than between five and ten minutes.
Normanton: Near the location in Normanton, West Yorkshire
Both Mark and I visited the location and were impressed by the credibility of the witnesses. At no time did they call the object a ‘spaceship’ or a ‘flying saucer’ and there was no way Mrs. Westerman wanted any publicity, she would not even allow us to take her photograph. They were honest, hard-working down-to-earth people. The children’s accounts were consistent, and all seven witnesses were in no doubt that they had observed something out of the ordinary. Both Mark and I could find no reason for them to concoct such a story. Mrs. Westerman did say that she was amazed that no one else had seen the object. It was a sunny day and it flew at low level over the housing estate.
So there you have it. This is the one UFO case that most impresses me above all others. Why? Well it’s not just because I was involved in it, and it is not necessarily what the witnesses related to us. Instead, it is the witnesses themselves. Normanton had a large miner’s community. In fact, Mrs. Waterman’s husband worked at a local colliery. My late father worked down in the mines all his life, and I grew up with people very much like Mrs. Westerman. Added to that, and despite our best efforts, neither Mark Birdsall nor I could find any rational explanation for this event. It either happened as they reported it to us or they were lying, and we could find no evidence of the latter.
This incident has now led me to begin a long term study of alleged UFO landing reports in the UK. I would therefore like to hear from anyone else, either witness or UFO researcher, who has any information regarding UFO landings in the UK.
Date of sighting: 9-29-2015 reported this week Location of sighting: Brazil News Source: MUFON #80045 This could be more evidence to the hollow moon theory. So many UFOs have been seen around the moon, yet we don't see a lot of structures on the surface, so there must be a large cavity within. Hollow Moon Theory: The moon's mean density is 3.34 gm/cm3 (3.34 times an equal volume of water) whereas the Earth's is 5.5. What does this mean?
In 1962, NASA scientist Dr. Gordon MacDonald stated, "If the astronomical data are reduced, it is found that the data require that the interior of the moon is more like a hollow than a homogeneous sphere." Nobel chemist Dr. Harold Urey suggested the moon's reduced density is because of large areas inside the moon where is "simply a cavity."
MIT's Dr. Sean C. Solomon wrote, "the Lunar Orbiter experiments vastly improved our knowledge of the moon's gravitational field... indicating the frightening possibility that the moon might be hollow." In Carl Sagan's treatise, Intelligent Life in the Universe, the famous astronomer stated, "A natural satellite cannot be a hollow object."
Scott C. Waring
Eyewitness states:
I was in my residence watching the lunar eclipse. I decided to take some pictures, because my son is interested in the subject and he slept because of the schedule. The objects were not visible to the naked eye, and I fixed the camera on a tripod not to move the camera. only the next day I went to see the pictures on the computer, when I found strange white spots around and near the moon. I follow and am interested in UFO phenomena, but thought well before sending the photos.

Date of sighting: Oct 15, 2016 Location of sighting: Earths Orbit The eyewitness was trying to track a CZ3B booster rocket, but instead found this craft which looks nothing like said object. This object is unique in that is does have many right angles and yet at some moments it morphs its shape. Scott C. Waring Eyewitness states:
Attempting to track geo sats on October 15, 2016. NexStar 6se telescope, 25mm eyepiece, focused on moon, Sony A7s recording video at 60 frames per second. Pointed at Echostar 7 at about AZ 264, El 48, time 2106 MST. Video shows star drifting down thru field of view, and object rising from the bottom. Examined about 80 frames and posted some of the more interesting ones in sequence. Object may have been rotating. Object tracked as CZ3B rocket booster in HeavenSat application, at roughly 8428 miles distant.
