News crews covering a rescue operation of a general after a failed military coup in Turkey has videotaped a strange UFO. The July 16 news footage shows an unknown object in the sky in the background of the rescue operation from the pro-coup military of the Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar. He was flown to Cankaya Lodge in a helicopter when the unidentified flying object registered in the distance for approximately three seconds.

A blue sphere, believed to be massive, was noticed in front of the Sun through NASA cameras. The find captivated the imagination of UFO enthusiasts.
The mysterious images from the website of the space agency made the rounds on Facebook after Pamela Johnson uploaded it on November 15. Pamela claimed that the Sun reacted to the giant UFO.
NASA’s STEREO H1 satellites, which orbit the Sun, reportedly captured the picture. Pamela noticed several missing frames from the feed in the days after the unusual sight had surfaced.
She said the sun is casting the light from the left side of the frame. He added that the satellite’s archives showed the sun started reacting to the mystery object on November 15 and several frames are missing on the 15th and 16th.
The YouTube video that features the images has garnered nearly a hundred thousand views as of this writing. It has been met with enthusiasm and skepticism.
Mike Sovereign said that NASA would not be careless to allow something similar to it to reach the public. He speculated that something might be projecting the image in space, a project blue beam or holographic.
Youtube user mrfaithandphysics said the surface patterns are not the same to any spectrum or details of the Sun, suggesting it isn’t the sun. He added that it appears and disappears out of nowhere and doesn’t move through the frames.

The pilots of a Porter Airlines flight inbound to Toronto on Monday morning were forced to put their plane into a sudden dive to avoid a mid-air collision with an unidentified object high over Lake Ontario, causing minor injuries to two flight attendants.
Now investigators with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada admit they have a puzzle on their hands to determine exactly what the pilots had to avoid.
“Nobody knows at this point. It happened so quick,” said Peter Rowntree, senior regional investigator with the safety board.
“We’ve got our work cut out trying to figure out what this unidentified flying object was. What did they encounter?” Rowntree said in an interview.
“It definitely wasn’t a bird. It was a fairly large object,” he said, describing it as up to three metres wide.
There were initial concerns that the object was an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), or drone, highlighting once again worries about their growing prevalence and the risks they pose to aviation.
Rowntree said it was too soon to say for sure. But he said the location of the incident — at 2,743 metres (9,000 feet) over the lake near the U.S. border, far from shore — is reason for concern if it was a drone.
The Porter Dash 8-400 turboprop was on its initial approach to Toronto’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport from Ottawa when the two pilots saw they were on a collision course. They had mere seconds to spot the object and react to avoid the danger.
“They essentially just pushed the nose down to get underneath it,” Rowntree said.
“It’s a big sky out there, so the fact they even saw it is something,” he said, noting that the aircraft was travelling at almost 450 kilometres per hour.
Two flight attendants suffered minor injuries in the evasive manoeuvre. They were taken to hospital and released. None of the 54 passengers on board the flight were injured, airline spokesperson Brad Cicero said.
At first the pilots believed the object was a balloon, but later thought it could have been a drone, Cicero said.
The proliferation and capability of unmanned aerial vehicles has been a growing worry for pilots who fear a catastrophic mid-air collision. By Sept. 1, there had been 82 reports of potential UAV infractions in Canada this year, compared to 97 in all of 2015 and 61 in 2014, according to Transport Canada.
Transport Minister Marc Garneau’s office said Monday that “new, clearer regulations” for drone use would be released in the coming months.
Existing rules already restrict the use of drones around airports and at higher altitudes to minimize the risk of a potential collision. But there are calls for Transport Canada to do more to raise public awareness.
“I don’t believe the word is getting out,” said Dan Adamus, Canada board president of the Air Line Pilots Association, International.
“That’s the problem. People just look up in the sky and they don’t understand it’s airspace that aircraft use,” he said in an interview.
He said a mid-air collision with a drone would likely be worse than hitting a bird and could easily disable a control surface, cause an engine failure or shatter the windscreen.
And he said the pilots association wants Canada to follow the lead of the United States and require owners to register their UAVs with the federal authorities, a formality that may encourage some to be more responsible in how they fly the vehicles.
“We certainly recognize the potential of remotely piloted aircraft for a whole variety of reasons, but they can’t compromise aviation safety,” he said.
Rowntree echoed that concern.
“It’s only a matter of time before — and you hate to say it — an airplane is going to hit a drone,” he said.

The Transportation Safety Board says it closed the investigation into a near miss between a Porter Airlines plane and a still unknown airborne object that occurred high over Lake Ontario last week.
On Nov. 14, a Porter Airlines Bombardier Q400 turboprop plane was flying at an altitude of more than 2,700 metres over Lake Ontario, 55 kilometres east of Toronto near the marine border between Canada and the United States, when pilots noticed an unknown object barreling towards them.
TSB investigators said the pilots had only a few seconds to avoid the object, which they described as being as much as three metres wide.
The Porter pilots put the plane in a steep dive in order to dodge the object. Two flight attendants onboard the flight suffered minor injuries as a result.
None of the 54 passengers aboard were hurt.
TSB officials told CTV News Toronto that the description of the object did not match any known commercial or consumer drones currently on the market.
The investigation can be reopened if more information comes to light, officials said.
Commercially available drones are typically not designed to reach an altitude of 2,700 metres without some form of modification.
In Canada, drones are prohibited from flying higher than 90 metres above the ground, without first obtaining a special permit from Transport Canada.

Researchers have found a large amount of frozen ice beneath a cracked and pitted plain in the Martian surface that is about 79-171 meters (260-560 ft) thick.
Any Martian water can be used to search for signs of life, and to learn more about the climate of Mars thousands of years ago.
BENEATH THE SURFACE
If we want a successful manned mission to Mars, and an eventual human colony, we have to start looking for all the possible resources on the Red Planet – especially a water source.
Researchers have found a large amount of frozen ice beneath a cracked and pitted plain in the Martian surface. The frozen mass is likely carrying as much water as Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes in the US.
The ice was found on Mars’ Utopia Planitia region by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter’s Shallow Radar (SHARAD). Analyzing data from more than 600 overhead passes, the research team estimates a thickness from about 79-171 meters (260-560 ft). The ice is made up of about 50 to 85 percent water, mixed with dust and other solids. It is buried underneath 1-10 meters (3-33 ft) of Martian soil.

“This deposit probably formed as snowfall accumulating into an ice sheet mixed with dust during a period in Mars history when the planet’s axis was more tilted than it is today,” said lead author Cassie Stuurman in a statement.
CLIMATE RECORD
The deposit accounts for around one percent of all water found on the planet. This might not sound like much, but it does double the frozen ice beneath Mars’ northern plains. And, the ice can easily be tapped by astronauts or any mission that wants to do so.
“This deposit is probably more accessible than most water ice on Mars, because it is at a relatively low latitude and it lies in a flat, smooth area where landing a spacecraft would be easier than at some of the other areas with buried ice,” said Jack Holt, co-author of the paper.
Any Martian water found, even in ice form, can be a candidate for searching for signs of life on the Red Planet. Ice can contain evidence of any life form that may have resided there. Also, like what we do with Earth’s own polar ice, scientists can use the deposit to learn more about the climate of Mars thousands of years ago.
“Sampling and using this ice with a future mission could help keep astronauts alive, while also helping them unlock the secrets of Martian ice ages,” says co-author Joe Levy.

Steven M. Greer, MD is de oprichter en directeur van het Disclosure Project. Daarnaast leidt hij een wereldwijde zoektocht naar alternatieve vormen van energie, met name nulpunt- of overunity-apparaten.
Dr. Greer is auteur van verschillende boeken waaronder Hidden Truth - Forbidden Knowledge, waarin hij vertelt over zijn eigen ervaringen met buitenaardse beschavingen en de ontwikkeling van zijn kosmische bewustzijn. Als kind zag hij al een UFO en op 17-jarige leeftijd had hij een bijna-doodervaring. In het boek onthult hij ook de geheime kabal waarna we uitkomen bij illegale projecten en ontmoetingen met CIA-directeurs, Amerikaanse senatoren en leden van koningshuizen.
Iets dat al jaren speelt en waarvoor verschillende mensen hebben gewaarschuwd, is een nep buitenaardse invasie.
Voor velen is de situatie met betrekking tot buitenaardsen uitermate verwarrend. Het is sowieso al moeilijk voor te stellen dat er naast deze aarde nog talloze andere planeten zijn waar ook leven op voorkomt. Daarnaast bovenop dan ook nog de door mensen gemaakte UFO’s en zaken zoals de geheime ruimtevloot.
Wanneer je dan ook een UFO waarneemt, is de grote vraag of je hier te maken hebt met een door mensen gemaakt object of met een door buitenaardsen bestuurd voertuig.
Dan kom je weer snel uit bij de waarschuwing zoals die door Wernher von Braun, vlak voor zijn dood werd afgegeven.
Die luidde dat de door mensen gecreëerde ultieme dreiging voor de mensheid uit de ruimte zou komen en dat dit uiteindelijk de wereld zal verenigen in de New World Order.
Wernher von Braun (1912-1977) was de wellicht meest controversiële raketbouwer ooit. Hij maakte de dodelijke V2-raketten voor Hitler en nadien de ruimtevaartraketten voor de NASA, waarmee onder andere de eerste landing van een mens op de maan werd uitgevoerd.
Ongeveer drie jaar voor zijn dood kwam hij in aanraking met Dr. Carol Rosin. Misschien kreeg hij aan het eind van zijn leven iets van wroeging, want haar vertelde hij een groot aantal geheimen. Om de gigantische kosten en de mega verdiensten voor de ruimtewapensystemen enigszins te rechtvaardigen en de agenda voor de New World Order te promoten, zouden er kunstmatige vijanden worden gecreëerd.
Eerst zou dat Rusland zijn. Daarna de terroristen. Vervolgens de landen in het Midden-Oosten. Dan de laatste troefkaart: Een bedreiging uit de ruimte.
Carol Rosin is nu weer in het nieuws met een nogal alarmerend bericht. In haar radioprogramma laat ze een uitgebreide presentatie horen die enkele dagen geleden is gegeven door Dr. Greer voor een select publiek.
Daarin komt Greer met een waarschuwing voor de mensheid dat er nu haast gemaakt gaat worden met die nep buitenaardse invasie waar al zolang over wordt gesproken.
Een invasie die vergelijkbaar is met de effecten van een 9/11, maar dan honderd maal erger. Een gefingeerde invasie die de wereld zodanig zal veranderen dat mensen met weemoed terug zullen denken aan tijden die geweest zijn. Dr. Greer noemt die gebeurtenis dusdanig heftig dat hij 9/11 vergelijkt met een picknick.
Hij is op dit moment druk met het waarschuwen van al zijn goede contacten binnen overheidskringen om zo te proberen te voorkomen dat dit zal plaatsvinden. In zijn presentatie komt Greer met een interessant gegeven en dat is dat de mensen aan de top vaak geen flauw idee hebben van wat er zich werkelijk afspeelt.
Dat de echte strategie wordt uitgevoerd door de laag die zich net onder de machthebbers bevindt, wat je bij ons de topambtenaren noemt.
Ambtelijke macht is een afgeleide van de macht van de regering. In een strikte scheiding tussen politiek en ambtenarij nemen politieke besluitvormers beslissingen die door ambtenaren loyaal worden uitgevoerd. Toch wordt ambtenarij of bureaucratie als zelfstandige macht onderkend omdat ze in de praktijk de beslissingen van de uitvoerende macht uitvoeren en interpreteren. In plaats van de strikte scheiding tussen uitvoerende bevoegdheden en verantwoordelijkheden bij de bestuurders ligt de feitelijke macht deels bij ambtenaren die veel uitvoerende bevoegdheden zelfstandig uitvoeren. De ambtenaren zijn ook van groot belang bij het opstellen van nieuwe regels en beleid. Soms wordt gesteld dat de macht van de ambtenaren, met name de topambtenaren groter is dan die van de minister.
Volgens Greer zal de enorme False Flag operatie plaatsvinden met door mensen gemaakte UFO’s, antizwaartekracht objecten zoals hij ze noemt, in samenspel met wat men noemt “psychotronic, brainwave entrainment weapons”. Vrij vertaald betekent dit wapens die via bepaalde frequenties de menselijke geest beïnvloeden. Dit soort wapens wordt al sinds de jaren vijftig ontwikkeld net zoals de door mensen gemaakte UFO’s.
De gecombineerde effecten van dit alles zou een angstaanjagende Independence Day buitenaardse invasie voor de mensheid creëren, waar iedereen in zal trappen.
In zijn presentatie vertelt Greer ook over een klokkenluider binnen de luchtmacht waar hij uitgebreid contact mee heeft gehad vanwege een nieuwe film die hij gaat maken. Deze klokkenluider vertelde hem dat de nep buitenaardse invasie nu heel dichtbij is.
Voor mensen die niet op de hoogte zijn van het soort technieken die ze gebruiken zal het een volkomen levensecht fenomeen zijn dat zich afspeelt. Daarom is het van het allergrootste belang dat zoveel mogelijk mensen op de hoogte zijn van dit plan en wat het inhoudt, zodat ze straks in staat zijn het onderscheid te maken tussen echte UFO’s en buitenaardsen en de geplande nep-invasie.
Een gebeurtenis die een fascistische schokgolf door de wereld zal veroorzaken door de leden van het zogenaamde militair-industrieel complex. Een tijdperk waarbij de periode na 9/11 zal lijken op de zorgeloze dagen van de jaren twintig.

The web camera caught a black UFO moving over or from the mountain top. The UFO is low to keep out of sight, but was it coming from a base below this area is the real question. I was monitoring the Winter Park, CO, ski resort town web camera (for my job -- we do operational cloud seeding for the resort to increase snow pack and use the cameras to monitor weather conditions). The frames update about every 3 mins, to my knowledge. In one frame, there was nothing but the normal view. Next frame, black disk-like object appears just over mountain top. Next frame, nothing. Too close to the mountain to be a drone or plane. Confirmed with the resort that there were no helicopters present this morning. Given the distance/size of object, it is unlikely that it was a bird, bug, etc. My colleagues and I have been using this webcam for years and this has never occurred before.

Australia Joins The Hunt For Aliens With A Huge Dish Telescope
Scientists in Australia are aiming a huge dish telescope at Proxima Centauri, one of our close solar neighbors, joining the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
Proxima Centauri is a red dwarf star a mere 4.25 light years from us, where an Earth-like planet ― dubbed Proxima b ― is believed in orbit. Proxima b may have temperatures that could allow liquid water to exist there, scientists speculate.
The next logical jump is speculation that Proxima b may be habitable.
The Parkes Radio Telescope (pictured below) in New South Wales will lend a hand, er, dish to the mix, scanning for radio frequencies that might originate from unknown civilizations in space, reports the Aussie Network News.

CSIRO's Parkes radio telescope was officially opened on the 31 October 1961 by the Governor-General, Viscount De L'Isle forty years on, it is still one of the most advanced telescopes of its kind. A gigantic structure of steel and concrete, the telescope soars nearly 55 metres into the sky near Parkes NSW. It played a crucial role in receiving signals during the Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969, relaying them for broadcast to an audience of 600 million around the world.
This is Australia’s first collaboration with Breakthrough Listen, a 10-year, $100 million global effort to actively search for intelligent alien life, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization confirmed.
As reported by The New York Times, Breakthrough Listen was launched in 2015 by billionaire tech investor Yuri Milner. The project’s international supporters include renowned physicist Stephen Hawking, astronomer Frank Drake, who founded California’s SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), Cambridge University’s Lord Martin Rees, and Ann Druyan, co-author of the “Cosmos” television programs and widow of astronomer Carl Sagan.

“The addition of Parkes is an important milestone,” Milner told Australian media. “These major instruments are the ears of planet Earth, and now they are listening for signs of other civilizations.”
Locating a verifiable intelligent alien radio signal is basically like looking for a cosmic needle in a haystack. But scientists believe Earth’s most powerful telescopes are the best chance of helping to answer the question of whether earthlings are alone in the universe.
John Reynolds, program director for Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, said he’s not convinced the Breakthrough Listen project will make history, according to Australian Network News. But no matter what, he added, the search effort isn’t pointless.
The Parkes radio telescope can tilt 60° from vertical and would take 15 minutes to perform a 360° rotation.
“I’m a bit of a skeptic, but I like the idea,” Reynolds said. “I think it is actually real science, even though the chance of success is small. It’s definitely a question that has to be answered, and you won’t find out unless you actually look.”

Another step towards global UFO disclosure. The Spanish Ministry of Defense has declassified 80 reports of alleged UFO sightings that took place between 1962 and 1995.
The Spanish Ministry of Defense has declassified 80 confidential reports containing around 1,900 pages of alleged UFO sightings that were recorded above Spanish airspace between 1962 and 1995.
The material is available to the public in the online library of the Spanish Ministry of Defense. The reports include the location of the sighting, the date, the summary of facts, considerations, conclusions and the proposed classification or declassification of each document.
The declassification process of the documents began in 1991 when the Ministry of Defense decided to analyze the reports and reduce their classification level in order to make them available to the general public which demanded access to these documents.
Fascinating accounts – inexplicable phenomena
One of the most interesting UFO sightings was reported by pilots and crew when President Adolfo Suarez was traveling from Germany to SPAIN.
The strange UFO was spotted at an undisclosed location. The encounter occurred when former President Adolfo Suarez, was on board an aircraft of the Spanish Air Force. The pilots and passengers onboard witnessed strange lights that could be explained. It remains unclear as to where the sighting took place. The report reads: “During night hours on February 25, 1980, onboard the 401st Squadron aircraft on a flight from Germany to Spain, Madrid with President Suarez, strange lights were observed by the pilots and passengers“.
Furthermore, the declassified documents reveal a number of different sightings that occurred over SPAIN when UFO’s were detected by radar but were invisible for pilots who were sent out to intercept them.
A document which dates to the 28th of November 1979 indicates that numerous individuals observed two UFOs in Madrid. A military plane was sent out to search for the UFOs. The pilot of the intercepting aircraft didn’t see anything, even though “the weather conditions were excellent” and “radar contact had been established four times” the report reads.
That same report details other sightings, one of them occurred on November 27, 1979, when “lights in the sky, were observed by many people” and “unknown echoes” were recorded.
Furthermore, the report details how in 1971, a “luminous object was spotted following a T-33 in Talavera-Getafe route”; and in 1977, mystery lights were seen above Madrid.”
The first UFO sighting over Madrid was recorded on December 11 of 1968. Two witnesses reported at 20.05 hours and 20.30 hours the presence “of a very bright object with changes in brightness,“ in the southwestern parts of the capital.
About 65 million years ago, a space rock six miles wide came hurtling towards Earth. When it hit, it bore a hole 18 miles deep, potentially smashing right through the crust and into the mantle, and leaving scars on this planet that remain to this day.
That’s the conclusion of a new study published inScience, part of an international research project that drilled cores of rock off the Mexican coast this year in an effort to uncover clues to the evolution of planets, and the extinction of all non-bird dinosaurs.
The study, led by Joanna Morgan of Imperial College London and Sean Gulick of the University of Texas at Austin, used rock samples from the Chicxulub crater to unlock the secrets of how asteroid and comet shape the planets they collide with.
The Chicxulub crater is the only one on Earth with a known peak ring, which is a circular formation of elevated material within the larger crater but offset from the center. These peak rings are familiar sights on rocky planetary bodies, including the moon, although on Earth they disappear relatively quickly through erosion and geological forces.
Core samples from Chicxulub’s peak ring, drilled from shallow ocean waters in the Gulf of Mexico, offer Earth-bound scientists a close look at where the material that formed these peaks came from.
There are differing theories about how peak rings form. In one model, the impactor drives deep into the planet, causing an upwelling of molten and solid rock, like the backsplash of a raindrop falling on water. This rises miles up overhead before collapsing and ultimately settling into an elevated ring of material that encircles the impact site. A less dramatic model shows the peak ring rising up like a splash around the center of the crater.
The researchers’ results show that the former is more likely, based on the composition of rocks sampled from the Chicxulub peak ring. This means that dinosaurs nearby would have been in for one hell of a volcanic show, at least until the blast of heat from the explosion got them.
If the Chicxulub asteroid carved a hole 18 miles deep, it could have seen a column of molten rock rise nine miles above Earth’s surface before collapsing under its weight. The air would have filled with fireballs, starting forest fires for thousands of miles around. Earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis would have ensued, and when the planet fell quiet, the air would have been thick with enough ash and soot to blot out the sun.
It was, by any standard, a dark day for the planet, and up to 90 percent of all Earth’s species would ultimately go extinct in the aftermath. But, if you take the long view, it was also a moment of rebirth, when the stage was set for new species, and ultimately humans, to inherit the Earth.
The researchers plan to continue studying Chicxulub’s rocks, and answer how catastrophic impact events can open new spaces for the emergence of life, despite their enormous destructive power.
Rocks uplifted in the event ended up less dense and more porous, Gulick tells LiveScience. “When you get rocks with 10 percent more pore space, microbial life living below the surface may find new habitats on the surface. Our next area of research involves looking at whether ecosystems can get started by craters.”

CURIOUS SPACE ODDITIES
Fast Radio Bursts (FRB) are astrophysical phenomena that manifest through millisecond-fast radio chirps that occur randomly. As of now, only 18 have been picked up, and scientists aren’t sure what causes them. Some theorists claim they are caused by collisions between two aging stars, while others assert they come from younger, fast-spinning neutron stars called pulsars.
A new discovery published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters might narrow down these causes even further. The paper reports on the discovery of gamma waves that accompanied FRB 131104, named after the date of its discovery — November 4, 2013. The waves were found using data gathered by NASA’s Swift, a satellite designed to detect gamma ray bursts. This is the first time high energy photons were observed in the same location as the FRBs. If both the gamma ray and the radio waves did come from the same place, this could mean that the source is 1 billion times as energetic as previously thought.

CHALLENGING ASSUMPTIONS
This discovery could help pinpoint the origins of FRBs. If the gamma rays and the radio waves did come from the same location, the pulsar explanation can be ruled out since they are not known to produce gamma waves. Instead, collisions between two neutron stars, or between a neutron star and a black hole, look promising, says Derek Fox, an astrophysicist at Penn State and a coauthor of the study
However, this discovery is just one of many FRBs. Scientists speculate there are more FRBs happening now that are not detected by our instruments. However, it is possible that some FRBs are accompanied by gamma rays, while others could be produced alone. Jason Hessels, an astrophysicist at the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy in Dwingeloo shares the sentiment about that theory: “It’s tantalizing, but a lot more would need to be found to be convincing.”
Still, thanks to new detection instruments like the Swift satellite, we are inching closer to fully understanding the universe. It is in these new tools that we are challenging established assumptions and gaining new insights, in this world and beyond.

You don't have to believe in UFOs or time travel to appreciate the Integratron. But when visiting the one-of-a-kind, three-story high, white-domed structure that's been a permanent fixture of California's Mojave Desert since the late 1950s, keeping an open mind is a must, not a maybe.
To visit the Integratron is to pay homage to the life's work of a man named George Van Tassel – an aviator and UFOlogist with an extraordinary mission: to construct "a time machine for basic research on rejuvenation, anti-gravity, and time travel". It's the brainchild of a benevolent bunch of extraterrestrials from Venus who arrived on Earth on a star-soaked night in 1953 and – according to Van Tassel – telepathically divulged to him the schematics for what would become the Integratron.
And, judging by the structure's meticulous configuration – requiring no screws or nails of any kind, right down to the perfect acoustics for which the space is perhaps best known – it's safe to say those extraterrestrials knew a thing or two about midcentury modernist design.

Located amid the dusty desertscape of Landers, California, about an hour north of Palm Springs and just moments from the unique spike-leafed evergreens inhabiting the Joshua Tree National Park, the precise coordinates of the Integratron are as much a part of the way it functions as the structure itself. It's said that if you stand directly in the centre, you'll channel a significant spike in the earth's magnetic field which, when combined with the geometry of the building, generates a powerful connection between electrical energy and spirituality.
And while you may no longer have the opportunity to hitch a ride back in time, the good news is that the Integratron is open to the public thanks to the Karl sisters who have devoted more than 30 years to preserving the site in all its otherworldly magnificence.

And magnificent it is. Inside the airy main chamber, 16 rectangular windows boast panoramic views of the desert as linear wood detailing spirals out from the dome's highest point. Like some kind of esoteric house of worship, the space feels undeniably sacred, the interior's wooden ribs reaching skyward in adulation.
But it's not only the look and feel of the space that has thousands of visitors making the pilgrimage each year. It's the Integratron's unusual acoustic properties that attract everyone from musicians and yogis to astronomers and scientists, and which makes the structure a sublime archetype for sound baths.

For those unfamiliar with the relatively new modality of healing, a sound bath is an immersive experience that engages a series of quartz-crystal singing bowls to lull participants into a meditative state of stillness as the transcendental tones wash over them.
If it sounds like your kind of jam, it's recommended that you book your session at least a couple of weeks in advance as spots fill up fast. Arrive early for a stroll around the grounds, and settle into one of the many hammocks to absorb the view of the white dome as it rises out of the Mojave like a repurposed UFO.
The Integratron is located at 2477 Belfield Boulevard in Landers, and offers sound bath sessions for $34 per person on weekdays and $47 per person on weekends and holidays. Bookings can be made via the website.
An astrophysicist from the Columbia University claims that aliens are everywhere but we just could not see them. The scientist, Caleb Scharf, explains that the ancient alien life forms transformed themselves into the physical world and are causing mysterious forces like dark matter and dark energy.
“Perhaps hyper-advanced life isn’t just external. Perhaps it’s already all around,” astrophysicist Cale Scharf explained “In other words, life might not just be in the equations. It might be the equations.”
The scientist asserts that this is just a theory his work has been published in an article on Nautilus.
Scharf adds that the aliens are so advanced that we cannot explain what they are using the laws of physics. He says that the theory is similar to how some people view some objects as magical because they are not familiar with it.
“What if life has moved so far on that it doesn’t just appear magical, but appears like physics?” the astrophysicist added. “After all, if the cosmos holds other life, and if some of that life has evolved beyond our own waypoints of complexity and technology, we should be considering some very extreme possibilities.”
Recently, a video was uploaded on YouTube showing a fleet of unidentified flying objects taking off from the lunar surface. Alien believers claim that these UFOs, most likely of alien origin, are actually guarding the moon and trying to protect it from humans.
Meanwhile, the video has been questioned by others. A photographer explains that the objects are not aliens but are simply a product of optical illusion.
“UFO’s are NOT what you’re seeing. It is a phenomenon seen any time you look at the moon’s edge. I have lots of telescope time. You see this all the time. It’s called Chromatic Aberration. (Google it) You see it more when the lens is out of focus as well, such as in this video,” explains photographer John Biondo.
One of those asking these questions is Stephen Hawking, the British cosmologist with many deep thoughts and a good sense of humor.
Unlike many celebrity scientists, Hawking’s provocative, news-grabbing statements almost always have some content worth pondering.
Looking for ET
Hawking is part of a Breakthrough Listen project to develop more sensitive radio receivers and listen in on the alien civilizations of the cosmos.
There is another project called Breakthrough Message to design a digital message that could be transmitted from Earth to an extraterrestrial civilization. The message should be “representative of humanity and planet Earth.”
The program pledges:
[…] not to transmit any message until there has been a global debate at high levels of science and politics on the risks and rewards of contacting advanced civilizations.
But Hawking wants us to listen, and not to talk—use our ears, not our mouth. He wants us to eavesdrop but not join the conversation. He wants us to keep our head low.
That sounds like a reasonable idea. Better safe than sorry. But in the spectrum between, paranoia and unjustifiable fear on one side, and reasonable caution on the other, where does keeping your head low fit in?
What kind of ET could we find?
Hawking’s comments are motivated by a fear of what the aliens would do to us if they find us. In his mind, the aliens are the Spanish Conquistador Cortez and we are the Aztecs he made contact with in central America.
Tribal warfare, genocide and ethnic cleansing have been part of our history for thousands of years. Hawking’s fear is a fear of what we have done to ourselves.
Would advanced alien civilizations be as barbaric as we are? Are our genocidal tendencies at all representative of advanced alien civilizations? Maybe.
Hawking says he worries that any aliens “will be vastly more powerful and may not see us as any more valuable than we see bacteria.”
But Stephen, bacteria ARE valuable. Our bacterial biomes keep us alive and healthy. They have been here for about 4 billion years. They invented the ability to harvest sunlight for energy. They produced the oxygen we breathe, and as mitochondria, they do our breathing.
Life on Earth would do fine without people, but without bacteria no other life forms would exist. So Hawking is over-estimating our importance and under-estimating our insignificance to aliens. We will be much less valuable to aliens, than bacteria are to us.
Advanced civilization
The age distribution of Earth-like planets in the universe tells us that the average Earth-like planet is about 2 billion years older than our Earth.
If life has formed on these other Earths, it has had, on average, 2 billion years longer to evolve than we have had. This is the fact that has Hawking worried.
If you imagine that the pace of biological and technological evolution on these other Earths is about the same as it has been on our Earth, then alien civilizations are on average 2 billion years more advanced than we are.
To put that time frame into perspective, two billion years ago, our ancestors on Earth were amoebas or parameciums—single-celled eukaryotes of some kind.
I agree with Hawking that we should keep our heads low. But we have already opened our mouths and started coughing—betraying our existence to any big-eared aliens.

Currently our strongest emissions into the cosmos – emissions that are making our presence known to the aliens – are the emissions that we think are protecting us from terrestrial aliens.
Those emissions are military radar. The unintended consequence of this protective radar is that it is simultaneously shouting out to the aliens “here we are”.
So the biggest threat to humanity is humanity—our nuclear weapons, our guns, our big brains and our powerful radar systems.
Contact or not?
While discussing the value of searching for extraterrestrial intelligence SETI, a colleague told me that it was dangerous to even listen to aliens. He thought the message would be like a Trojan horse. If we let the message into our minds, it would kill us.
It would be like sticking a virus-contaminated USB stick into your computer. The militaristic generals in the movie Contact should come to mind here: “Ellie Arroway! Don’t build that machine!”
Science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarkeonce saidthat any sufficiently advanced technology would be indistinguishable from magic. But futurist Karl Schroeder thinks that any sufficiently advanced technology will be indistinguishable from nature.
I don’t know. Maybe Schroeder’s right and advanced aliens have made their peace with the universe. But even if there aren’t any advanced alien civilizations elsewhere in the universe, keeping your head down is probably a good exercise in humility.
On October 25, 2006—ten years ago—NASA strapped two satellites onto a Delta II rocket and sent them skyward with an important mission—to figure out what our Sun is all about.
Given that it's the brightest object in our solar system and the big ball of fire that keeps us alive, you'd think humans would know all kinds of stuff about or friend, Sol. But, of course, for most of human history we've been staring at the Sun from one vantage point, and that's the soil beneath our feet. For the past decade, though, two satellites named STEREO-A and STEREO-B, part of the Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory mission, have been traveling ahead and behind Earth's orbit to get a more complete picture of our sun than ever before.
The results have been stunning. Here's a brief history of STEREO and its many, many accomplishments.
STEREO B, In The Beginning
Although other missions, like ESA and NASA's SOHO satellite, have traversed space in search of answers to our Sun-related questions, the primary goal of STEREO was to capture the first fully 3D image of our Sun, a simultaneous rendering of our life-giving star, as well mapping coronal mass ejections (CMEs) more accurately. To achieve that feat, NASA needed to coordinate the orbits of two separate satellites, one just inside and one just outside of Earth's own orbit, to get data from three distinct areas in our solar system.
In this image, we see nearly completed Stereo B, the satellite destined to travel behind Earth's orbit, at NASA's Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland in 2005. These satellites come with an extreme ultraviolet imager, two white-light coronagraphs, and a heliospheric imager—all for studying the evolution of CMEs as they travel from the Sun through its atmosphere (the corona).

STEREO Is Ready For Launch

After the launch, scientists hailed the satellites as ushering "a new dawn for solar observation," with plans to also accurately measure and predict solar storms. The correct prediction of these storms could help protect future astronauts from radiation when humans finally make that long, perilous trek to Mars.

Strangely, it was the first time we could say without a doubt that the Sun was indeed a sphere (though we had a good idea that was the case already.)

Watch Out For Space Weather

On July 23, 2012, the Sun unleashed a huge coronal mass ejection. Because NASA's "Heliophysics fleet" (which also includes the old SOHO satellite and NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory) comes with these twin STEREO satellites, NASA was able to capture the CME from a couple vantage points and with images from coronagraphs, which blocks the solar disk so the Sun's atmosphere is more visible. Because of this technique and all these different points of data, NASA was able to model this particular coronal ejection and learn more about what makes the Sun tick. A 2014 Crisis
After eight years of successful operation, STEREO hit a snag. On October 1, 2014, NASA lost contact with STEREO-B after a hard reset. For 22 months, crews worked to re-establish connection with the wayward craft and were finally successful on August 21, 2016. As of today, both STEREO-A and B are operating normally as they slowly inch their way back toward Earth.
If you were on Facebook this weekend, you may have seen an image showing a mysterious blue sphere in space and a whole bunch of conspiracy theories about it. Aliens? NASA cover-up? As usual, the truth is much more mundane.
One of the cameras on NASA's Sun-observing STEREO spacecraft, which normally just shows an empty field of stars, captured a giant blue sphere for a few frames before it vanished. Many people on the internet got very excited about this after UFO hunter Pamela Johnson shared the pics on Facebook. Some tabloids like the Daily Mailwrote entire articles speculating about what this giant blue sphere could mean. Theories ranged from rogue planets to holographic images to all kinds of conspiracy theories.
It's not. Alex Young, the associate director for science at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, tells PopMech that what you're seeing is the Sun, thanks to a data processing error in which two sets of data were superimposed into a single image. "The data comes down in a big stream, and we process that data, we pluck the images out as they're coming down in that stream, he says. "Sometimes the stream [can] get corrupted. That causes the computer program that processes those images to get them wrong."

Onboard NASA's STEREO spacecraft is an instrument called SECCHI. Basically, it's a big box with five different cameras in it. Three of those cameras point directly at the Sun, while the other two are pointed at the space between the Sun and the Earth. They all observe different things, but when the data from those cameras are sent back to Earth, the images from all the cameras get bundled together in one package to save space.

Normally, the computers that receive those images are able to separate them just fine. But sometimes that data can get scrambled and the images get messed up. This means that sometimes the images show up flipped, or rotated, or jumbled in other ways. "That's exactly what's happening here," Young says.
In this particular case, the images from two different cameras were layered on top of each other. An image from the EUVI camera, which looks at the Sun, got flipped, rotated, and superimposed on an image from the HI1 camera, which looks at the stars. And so, for a few frames, it looked like a giant blue sphere appeared in the middle of our solar system.
As is the case with most NASA telescopes, raw images automatically become publicly available once they're sent back to Earth (because NASA is taxpayer-funded). The agency would remove a goofed, glitchy image like this, but it didn't get around to it before the picture started making the rounds on the internet.
