Is the truth about the JFK assassination about to be revealed?
The assassination of John F. Kennedy still fascinates many people after fifty years. While the FBI and the American government claim that the official story is simply true, much of the information about the murder remains classified. Why would the information still be kept a secret after so many decades if there was nothing more to the story? Many people who were young at the time of the assassination are now dead. Who is the information being kept secret from?
Perhaps, the information will not be kept secret for much longer. It may be the case that the Trump administration is going to release all of what is known about the details of the assassination. In 1992, it was decided that the information would remain secret for another 25 years. It is now up to the president whether or not the information will remain secret.
There are 3500 files that could either be released or be kept secret. If the files do not include a simple admission that the official story is wrong, perhaps the files could contain clues that point to the real nature and purpose of the assassination. If the assassination was a conspiracy involving organizations that still possess a lot of power today, it seems unlikely that Trump could release the files. However, one could imagine the files being released even if they contain strong evidence that Oswald was not the assassin.
October of 2017 is the earliest date at which the files might be released. The final decision is up to the president, but the CIA and FBI will soon make a recommendation about whether or not to release the files. One could certainly doubt that the files contain everything that the government knows about the assassination. It could very well be the case that, even if the files are released to the public, the real story will remain secret.

Het toeval wil dat er daarvan deze week een aantal leuke voorbeelden opduiken, zoals een NASA foto, gemaakt door de Apollo 10 missie.
Er zijn mensen die bijna hun hele dag besteden aan het bestuderen en bekijken van door NASA gemaakte foto’s en komen dan soms heel bijzondere dingen tegen.

Apollo 10 was de vierde bemande vlucht uit het Apolloprogramma. De bemanning bestond uit commandant Thomas Stafford, CSM-piloot John Young en maanlanderpiloot Eugene Cernan.
Deze vlucht vond plaats in 1969 en diende ter voorbereiding op een maanlanding met Apollo 11 om het aan- en afkoppelen van diverse modules te oefenen.
Ook maakten ze prachtige foto’s van de aarde en op één daarvan is door de bekende Streetcap1 iets bijzonders ontdekt.
Iets, wat daar absoluut niet op thuis hoort en wat door de NASA censuur waarschijnlijk per ongeluk niet is weggehaald.
Het ziet er als volgt uit:
Vanuit het ruimtestation ISS (International Space Station), niet te verwarren met ISIS (Israeli Secret Intelligence Service), heb je ook een prachtig uitzicht op onze aarde en wat daar allemaal net buiten de dampkring gebeurt. Als het allemaal echt is natuurlijk.
De Franse ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet die op dit moment in het ISS verblijft, wilde een filmopname maken van een elektrische storm boven het westen van Amerika.
Echter, hij filmde nog meer, want op de video die Pesquet maakte, waren duidelijk een aantal objecten te zien die niet alleen met grote snelheid boven de aarde vlogen, maar ook nog eens allerlei vreemde bochten maakten.
Volgens wetenschappers van ESA (European Space Agency) waren het wel degelijk solide objecten en waarschijnlijk satellieten, maar ze konden even niet bedenken over welke satellieten het dan wel zou gaan.
Bekijk de volgende beelden en oordeel zelf of satellieten in staat zijn om een dergelijke veranderende koers te vliegen.
De opname van Pesquet werd op 17 april gemaakt en tien dagen later, op 27 april 2017, maakte NASA zelf een opname van een ronde UFO nabij het ISS die van kleur veranderde.
Deze ontdekking werd wederom gedaan door Streetcap1 en het lukte hem beelden vast te leggen, ondanks dat op het moment dat NASA ook het object opmerkte zij zoals gewoonlijk de verbinding verbraken en een blauw scherm toonden.

Given the prevalence of UFO sightings, it’s no surprise that public figures such as celebrities or politicians sometimes witness unexplained aerial phenomenon. A new celebrity UFO disclosure came this week from Hollywood legend Kurt Russell, who shared an eerie personal UFO sighting while on the BBC’s The One Show. Russell appeared on the show alongside Chris Pratt to promote the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when The One Show‘s hosts asked the pair if they believe alien beings have visited our planet. Pratt claimed that no, he does not, after which Russell opened up and recounted a strange encounter he and his son had with a set of unidentified lights in the sky.
Russell says he saw the lights while aboard his private plane.
Russell claims he was flying his son Oliver to visit Oliver’s girlfriend when the two of them spotted a strange set of lights in the sky:
I was flying him to go see his girlfriend. And we were on approach and I saw six lights over the airport in an absolute uniform V-shape. Oliver said ‘Pa, what are those lights?’ And then I kind of came out of my reverie and I said ‘I don’t know what they are.’
Russell then says he called in the sighting to the airport, asking if any aircraft were in the skies. The airport then reportedly radioed back that their radar systems were not showing any aircraft in that area at the time and logged the lights as unidentified.
Similar V-shaped formations have been reported in many famous sightings, including the mass sighting in Phoenix in 1997.
A few years later, Russell says his wife Goldie Hawn was watching a television documentary on the infamous Phoenix Lights sightings. As Russell watched footage of the lights, he experienced a strange feeling of deja vu:
As I’m watching this, I’m feeling like Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I thought ‘Why do I know this?’ It’s not clear to me.
Russell then remembered his UFO sighting and checked his log books on the day of the flight, and sure enough, he had somehow forgotten to record the sighting in his flight log. To this day, Russell can’t explain the sighting.
Russell previously battled parasitic aliens who crashed on Earth in John Carpenter’s sci fi-horror classic ‘The Thing.’
As Chris Pratt put it in the interview, “I think that’s an awesome story man”
These three beings stood over me and we had a long communication where they told me I would learn to meditate in order to stay in touch with them, and help communication between them and us [humans].
Thus begins a story that ends with a woman being “upgraded” to an alien hybrid. How does that happen?
The latest issue of the magazine New Idea contains an interview with author and purported alien abductee Judy Carroll of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Now 64, Carroll claims she was first contacted by aliens she believes are Greys when she was a child. The positive ID came in 1983 when the telepathic communications became actual physical contact as Carroll says the extraterrestrials took her on their spaceship for the first time. From her description – “pure white, with beautiful archways and no sharp corners” – it sounds like these Greys travel in a big flying saucer. However …
I don’t always remember as I’m taken during sleep, but I do have many conscious memories too.
Carroll describes the three beings that stood over her as thin-bodied, bald and with teardrop-shaped eyes and no moving jaws. Although he doesn’t corroborate that description in the interview, Carroll says her husband claims he’s seen an alien hovering over her while she’s meditating. Her husband sounds like an understanding guy, especially since Carroll also reveals that she has an alien teacher and healer on the ship named Maris, who has a “soul-to-soul” relationship with her. That relationship includes an interesting way of healing, as she describes how Maris cured a throat problem.
I remember him massaging my neck and putting his long fingers in my mouth and down my throat, where I said I was tight.
That throat problem could be because she claims she’s a hybrid and her human neck is dealing with her jawless alien side. Carroll believes she was chosen by the aliens while still in the womb and her DNA has been “upgraded” on her regular visits to the ship, where she says she’s witnessed the aliens “working on humans” who had also been taken there.
These monthly visits, meditative communications and instructions from Maris are the basis for Judy Carroll’s books and website where she helps other abductees and hybrids deal with their condition, memories and experiences. The site also acts as a clearinghouse for information about Greys (or Zetas as she also calls them) and provides a way for Carroll to distribute communications from them.
Is Judy Carroll really a Human by Day, Zeta by Night as the title of her docudrama suggests? She doesn’t provide the hard facts — like a DNA test or doctor’s exam, for example — that would sway skeptics. However, she does offer a good collection of interesting information and reading and her assistance to those who have a hard time convincing others they’ve been abducted is undoubtedly greatly appreciated.
It obviously helps to have an understanding spouse.
If there is one thing which can be said about the UFO phenomenon – and said with a fair degree of certainty – it’s that today we don’t get the classic ‘flaps’ and ‘waves’ that dominated the field of Ufology decades ago. I’m talking about the likes of Washington, D.C. 1952, the surge of UFO activity in 1973, and the Belgian ‘Flying Triangle’ encounters of 1989-1990. There was also a notable flood of reports in the United Kingdom in 1967 – which is the subject of this particular article.
Declassified files from the British Ministry of Defense reveal that from 1959 to 1966 the MoD received close to 450 reports of UFO activity in U.K. airspace – the vast majority of reports coming from the public, and a much smaller number originating with the police and the military. And 1966 led the pack with 95 reports. However, things changed dramatically in 1967 when the MoD was overrun by UFO reports. The actual figure was 362, which averages out to almost one per day. Although, it should be noted that many of those reports came from October 1967, the month when the nation briefly went UFO crazy.
There is a reason why I bring this up now, more than a year later. October of this year marks the 50th anniversary of what turned out to be a massive wave of UFO activity in the U.K. My earlier article described several of the more famous cases that hit the headlines and intrigued the U.K.’s Ministry of Defense, in late 1967. Keeping in mind the 50th anniversary angle, I figure why not share with you what amounts to quite a bit of additional data, in case anyone out there reading this may be inspired to look further into this long-gone wave of encounters – and with plenty of time before the mystery hits its 50th, too.
On October 25, 1967, the Chief Constable of East Sussex, England – George Terry – did something highly proactive. He organized a conference in the town of Lewes, East Sussex, where the local police force was briefed on the then-current UFO activity that was being reported across the U.K. Terry’s actions were prompted by the fact that many of the reports which caught his attention came from fellow officers. Terry informed his team that sharing any and all findings with the media was fine, in order to keep things in their “right perspective.”
One night later, a large, brightly-lit object was seen above the town of Hastings, England – also in East Sussex. On this particular occasion, the police shared their data with personnel from the Royal Greenwich Observatory. They were said to be “really interested” in this specific report.
It is now quite obvious that there was something visible below the cloud cover. This is an advance. We know now that there is something up there and that something is not Venus.
And the reports continued to flood in: In the county of Oxfordshire, and on the very next night, a pair of “Bobbies” saw two, large, egg-shaped objects flying over a local road. They (the UFOs, not the cops!) vanished at a high rate of speed when they reached a height of approximately 600 feet. Paul Quick – 21 at the time – saw an oval-shaped UFO flying over woods near the West Sussex village of Storrington. Quick watched amazed as the craft headed for the ground on the Sussex Downs. Despite a search of the area by police, no sign of the UFO was found.
Then, on October 29, the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph newspaper ran an article titled “Police see UFO over Sussex.” The article told how a number of officers, including Police Constable Michael Sands, had seen “a silver pinpoint of light” moving at high speed over Lancing Police Station, near the edge of the Adur Valley. And the cases continued to pour in – to the extent that there was even a brief period when the U.K.’s Ministry of Defense mused upon the idea of liaising with the Russians on the UFO issue!
Such waves and flaps seldom occur today, which is why I figure that with the 50th anniversary not far away, now might be the time to take a look back at a strange and brief period when the skies of the U.K. were filled with UFOs. Or, when mass-hysteria was running wildly out of control…
Earlier this month, photos of an unknown and strange-looking aircraft surfaced on an aviation forum. The images showed an unidentified and futuristic plane being serviced at a former Air Force base which is now (officially, anyway) a commercial logistics airport – a commercial logistics airport which just so happens to host DARPA tests and military flights and whose street address is on “Phantom Way.” The missile-shaped, windowless craft was speculated to be a prototype or even a movie prop by forum users, but with no official explanation given, speculation spread that the aircraft might be some sort of new top-secret technology hiding in plain sight.
Even aviation forums couldn’t positively identify the aircraft.
To possibly complicate or corroborate the mystery aircraft sighting, a recent UFO sighting in the town of Lincoln, California some 400 miles (640 km) to the north sounds an awful lot like the mysterious aircraft and might show some credence that the mystery plane was, in fact, a prototype aircraft currently being tested above California. MUFON’s Roger Marsh reported the case, which reportedly took place on 2:45 p.m. on March 16, 2017. The eyewitness reported being familiar with many types of aircraft based on time spent in or around the U.S. Air Force. According to MUFON field investigator Shelley Goodman, the eyewitness claims the aircraft was unlike anything he’s seen:
He described it as something he’s never seen before. He was in the Air Force and knows all about aircraft and how fast they move. This flew through the sky three times faster than any aircraft. In 5-6 seconds, it covered about 60 percent of the horizon flying from west to the northwest. It was underneath the cloud cover, so they could see it clearly. He described it like one of those big propane tanks some people have in their backyard flying through the air. There were no emissions and no noise.
Sounds an awful lot like the mystery craft seen a few weeks ago, if you ask me. Were that craft to be seen at an angle while banking, it would certainly appear much as the eyewitness described. Of course, without any photographs, we’ll never know and this is all ultimately conjecture.
Cylindrical UFOs are commonly reported, likely due to the fact that aircraft wings can often be invisible to observers or cameras on the ground due to perspective.
The testing theory does fit with certain trends lately, though, as more and more venture capitalists are venturing into bold new aerospace projects; could secret testing of new corporate technologies be the cause of many recent reports of strange aircraft, particularly in California? It’s possible. Of course, the rise in UFO and mystery plane sightings also happens to coincide with the advent of commercial drone aircraft, so there are likely other plausible explanations for most of these sightings.
Google “alien” and the entry at the top of the list is not Greys or Reptilians or people from a country that’s not yours – it’s a movie. Not just any movie … the mother of all sci-fi-horror movies – Alien, starring Sigourney Weaver and directed by the father of the genre – Ridley Scott. Sir Ridley went on to direct the equally-classic Blade Runner as well as Prometheus and The Martian … and some non-sci-fi monsters like Thelma & Louise, Gladiator and Hannibal. And don’t forget the dystopian “1984” commercial for Apple. Now he’s back to what he does best – aliens! Scott is making the rounds promoting his latest directorial accomplishment and return to where it all began –Alien: Covenant.

But you Ridley Scott fans already knew all of this. What you may not have known – but possibly suspected – is that Sir Ridley believes in aliens.
I believe in superior beings. I think it is certainly likely. An expert I was talking to at NASA said to me ‘have you ever looked in the sky at night? You mean to tell me we are it?’ That’s ridiculous.
What exactly does Scott mean by ‘superior beings’?
The experts have now put a number on it having assessed what is out there. They say that there are between 100 and 200 entities that could be having a similar evolution to us right now. So when you see a big thing in the sky, run for it.
Run for it? If they have a ‘similar evolution’ to our own, why should we be afraid, Sir Ridley?
They are a lot smarter than we are. If you are stupid enough to challenge them you will be taken out in three seconds.
NOW he tells us!
Should we be watching everyone else’s stomach … or our own? Scott doesn’t say, nor does he offer any comparisons between real aliens and the fictional (hopefully) Xenomorphs in Alien: Covenant, the second prequel to Alien that he’s directed. It continues where Prometheus, the first prequel, leaves off.
OK, so we already knew that Ridley Scott makes great Alien movies. Now we know that it’s probably because he believes in aliens and thinks they‘re out to get us. That explains Sir Ridley, but why do WE like them so much?
But the film was very successful because people are perverse.

An incredible colour changing UFO was caught on video. The strange diamond shape object apparently flew in the night sky above San Fernando Valley in California, U.S.A.
The clip was reportedly shot two weeks ago and posted on popular video-sharing site YouTube. It shows the strange object moving jerkily in the sky while flashing pink, blue, and green colours.
Some alien enthusiasts believe that the spacecraft in the latest video has been seen previously not once, but many times in different locations across the world.
They say that the UFO is a rotating six-sided diamond-shaped spacecraft. The unknown object reportedly stays in place for an hour before it leaves fast.
Many UFO researchers wonder what kind of species uses the extraordinary craft and what kind of intel they are collecting.
Others are not convinced of the video saying how come someone considered it a UFO when it is easy to fabricate such video. They point out that the video shows nothing but some kind of light in the dark background. They further suggest the possibility that the light is not even in the sky, but somewhere else in the dark with the changing colour light on.
A camera that is said to have a super powerful lens captured an unidentified flying object close to the Moon.
The UFO sighting video shows an unknown huge black shadow flying upwards across the base of the Moon going to the center.
As the camera lens zooms in, the tip of the object in question looks to continually spiral while it continues forward.
Some observers suspect that the triangular, black mark is not the object itself, but a trail of fumes coming from something else.
Eventually, the mysterious black shadow vanishes into space after it finishes crossing the Moon.
The video was reportedly shot in the astronomical observatory in Oman, an Arab country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, using a highly powerful telephoto lens.
It is challenging to determine whether the object is more than a great shadow because of the nature of the footage.
The footage has been viewed hundred thousands of times since it was uploaded to the Arabic news site. Viewers have offered mix theories regarding the object’s identity.
One observer said that the object was a space squid while several users claimed it appeared like the NASA’s logo.
Many other observers suggest wild speculations. One says that the UFO took out the missile of North Korea after it launched from the test pad and that aliens are trying to save humanity from WW3.
Several viewers also offer a practical suggestion saying it is probably just an optical illusion from clouds or just chemical trails from a plane.
An unnamed witness in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania claimed to have watched and photographed a slow moving square object flying overhead.
The witness was at the corner of Allegheny, and Kensington in the city at 8 am on 3rd of April 2017 waiting for the bus, according to MUFON report, Case 82950 of the network’s witness reporting database.
The witness described the morning as lovely. Upon looking at the sky and clouds, they noticed a black object quite high in the sky while facing north/northwest. They first thought it was debris hovering on the air currents, but later realized that it was moving slowly from east to west.
The witness described the object as dark black having a shape of a wide diamond or a square on a corner. The object did not appear to reflect light, according to the witness, but they noticed a light flashing around four times in ten minutes.
The witness got the attention of a young woman to ask a second opinion, the report stated. The woman was also waiting for the bus and answered to the witness that she also saw the same thing in the sky. The reporting witness asked the woman if she could consider it as a helicopter, and she answered no.
The reporting witness tried to get some photos using his phone, but they did not show much as the object was so high up and apparently quite distant.
An orb that changes colors was caught on the NASA Livestream filmed from the International Space Station on April 27, 2017.
At the moment NASA were panning the camera a little they spotted the colorful orb on and decided to zoom away from the object. Then after that they held for a minute and went to blue screen.
Despite NASA cut the camera feed so quickly even though the orb was very distant, Streetcap1 still managed to get the moment the orb comes into view including a couple of frames to enlarge.

ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet aboard the International Space Station captured strange moving objects above Earth on April 17, 2017.
The video filmed by Pesquet was initially intended to record an electrical storm near the horizon, just above western US. But he did not only record the electrical storm but also two unidentified objects moving at high speed above the Earth.
The objects are consistent with intact objects, and were most likely satellites in operation however scientists from the ESA Space Debris Bureau were unable to confirm which satellites were captured in the video…If the objects were satellites at all.

Now it seems these travelling companions all had the same violent beginning: as the innards of a mini-planet, eviscerated in a violent collision. Some remnants may even have been incorporated into the material that became Mars.
Trojans are distinct from the asteroids found in the asteroid belt, which begins about 101 million kilometres past Mars and stretches toward Jupiter. While Trojans orbit the sun, like the asteroid belt, they are trapped in gravitational sweet spots that ensure they will permanently trail or precede the planet in its trip around our star. These are known as Lagrange points.
Mars is the only rocky planet accompanied by Trojan asteroids in stable orbits. Occasionally, a passing asteroid can latch on to Earth’s gravity and temporarily trail the planet for a few thousand years, but Earth doesn’t have any permanent Trojans. They are common around Jupiter, which has about 6000. Neptune has 10.
True Trojans come from the material that was present when the planets were formed, says Apostolos Christou at the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium in the UK. “The Trojans are really a relic from the early life of the solar system, when the planets were still forming.”
Trojan Eureka
In 2013, he was studying a Mars Trojan nicknamed Eureka when he spotted a group of asteroids accompanying it. They all seemed to occupy the same area in Mars’s orbital path, which was strong circumstantial evidence that they shared a common ancestor.
Previous research on Eureka showed it is rich in a mineral called olivine, which typically forms within the mantles of large rocky bodies, such as Earth and the other terrestrial planets. This implies the asteroid was once part of a bigger object, maybe even a planet, that has long since been destroyed. But asteroids like this are quite rare.
To find out if Eureka’s fellow Trojans also contained olivine, Christou studied the spectrum of sunlight that two of them reflected and found they did. This suggests that mantle material existed near Mars when it was forming. “These asteroids might well be samples of the original building blocks that came together to form Mars and the other terrestrial planets,” Christou and his co-authors say.
Shaved planet
It is also possible that the Trojans are pieces of Mars itself, shaved off the planet in its youth and still following in its wake, Christou says.
“If it turns out that some of the Trojans are pieces of Mars’s mantle, then presumably we can have sample return missions. You can go get a piece,” he says. “The number of Mars-related science questions you can ask, if you have a piece of its mantle in the lab, would be amazing.”
The Eureka Trojans could shed light on Mars’s past whether the asteroids originated in the planet or not, says Andrew Rivkin at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, who studies asteroids. If they did come from Mars, their make-up would give clues about the planet’s interior and formation.
If not, they could still provide clues about where Mars might have been located in the solar system in the past; about collisions that carved out its giant craters; and about the natural history of Mars compared to that of Earth, Venus and Mercury.
“Then solar system dynamics researchers would have to look at it and say, ‘Here’s why Mars has this group of asteroids, and here’s why Earth doesn’t’,” says Rivkin. He adds that interest in Mars Trojans seems to spike every few years. “Hopefully in the next 10 years, we’ll get to have a spacecraft visit them.”
Bees are dying globally at an alarming rate, and to brace for an uncertain future, scientists are figuring out how to replace them with robots.
While bees aren't in immediate danger of going extinct, several species have been placed on the endangered species list. "In today's world," a researcher told the Christian Science Monitor last year, "it's harder to keep colonies alive than it was 20 years ago." Challenges range from habitat destruction to a mysterious phenomenon known as colony collapse disorder.
Enter Eijiro Miyako of the Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science. A chemist, Miyako relied on a project from 2007 he had previously considered a failure: attempting to make a liquid electrical conductor, he ended up with an extremely stick gel. The gel sat unused for a decade, until Miyako began to wonder if it could be used to turn drones into bees by giving them a way to grab and transport pollen like a bee's body does.
Miyako's not the first person to have this idea. Engineers at Harvard have been working on RoboBees for years. Pollination, after all, is a crucial natural function, vital to mass fertilization of the Earth. The difference is mainly in cost. Rather than spend years developing a perfectly functioning robot, Miyako and his team simply bought tiny drones off the shelf at $100 a pop. They then applied horse hair to recreate a bee's fuzzy exterior, and after that applied Miyako's signature sticky gel.
Using Japanese lilies, Miyako and his team were able to use the drones to transfer pollen from one flower to another. The successful artificial pollination is promising. "The findings, which will have applications for agriculture and robotics, among others, could lead to the development of artificial pollinators and help counter the problems caused by declining honeybee populations," Miyako says.
As smart as it may seem, current artificial intelligence can only learn what we program it to learn. So far, those skills are often applied to learning how to playvideo games. But what if we introduced robots to the fundamentals of human awareness like pain and safety? Kurzgesagt takes a brief look at the philosophical questions behind such a choice, and it's heavy on the what-ifs.
The question of robotic self-awareness goes as far back the word "robot" itself: the 1920 Czech play R.U.Rthat introduced the term to the lexicon deals with a violent robotic uprising. The existence of a robotic consciousness, something created outside of original programming, would be the equivalent to the creation of an alien life form on Earth.
While Kurzgesagt mentions French philosopher René Descartes' thoughts on animal rights, the debate on the subject has gone back and forth for centuries. More recent arguments include those from Harvard philosopher Peter Singer, who has argued for equality among species, as well as a greater focus on effective charities. Robots could have different desires, as Kurzgesagt points out, but that might not even matter. "If machines can and do become conscious," Singer asked in 2009, "will we take their feelings into account? The history of our relations with the only nonhuman sentient beings we have encountered so far–animals–gives no ground for confidence."
Ultimately, if an issue as unique as robot consciousness ever becomes more than a hypothetical, it will be one that has to be determined by the individual circumstances that brought it about. The robot in question "was designed to have human-like capacities that might incidentally give rise to consciousness," Singer writes, "we would have a good reason to think that it really was conscious. At that point, the movement for robot rights would begin."

Because the giant planet is believed to have once had the conditions to support life, it is thought some of the structures may have been left over from past existences.
Due to the media blackout surrounding Venus, it is also seen as a potentially perfect location for secret bases.
The voiceover states: "If I was going to put a secret base I would pick the one that's the least visited and talked about where I could have a base and do it in secret.
"I think there is a rich history behind Venus. These finds need to be looked into further."

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic is on track to begin commercial passenger spaceflights before the end of next year, the company's chief executive said.
For years, Branson has been optimistically forecasting the start of rides aboard SpaceShipTwo, an air-launched suborbital spaceplane that is designed to carry six passengers and two pilots to an altitude of about 62 miles (100 kilometers).
During the suborbital hop, passengers will be able to experience a few minutes of microgravity and see the limb of Earth set against the blackness of space.

Branson has been more circumspect in his schedule projections since an October 2014 fatal accident during a test flight of Virgin's first vehicle. But in an interview with The Telegraph earlier this month, the billionaire entrepreneur said he'd be "very disappointed" if the program isn't well underway by the end of next year.
Virgin Galactic is one of three companies in the Virgin Group's spaceflight division, known as Galactic Ventures. On Wednesday (April 26), Galactic Ventures chief executive George Whitesides, a soft-spoken, former NASA staff chief, said Branson's expectations for commercial flights in 2018 are realistic.
"We're well into test flight now," Whitesides told the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. The Virgin CEO addressed the committee along with other industry leaders during a hearing on reducing regulation barriers in the space industry.

"We're looking forward … to a fairly big transition of our staff to your state of New Mexico," Whitesides added in response to a question from Sen. Tom Udall, a New Mexico Democrat.
Virgin Galactic intends to base its commercial spaceflight service at New Mexico's Spaceport America, which was finished five years ago at a cost of nearly $220 million.
Construction funds for the spaceport came from state oil and gas taxes and from bonds, which were backed by a quarter-cent tax levied by the two counties closest to the 18,000-acre spaceport.
"Spaceport America and many New Mexicans hope to see full commercial spaceflight operations begin as soon as possible," Udall told Whitesides.
The second in a planned fleet of Virgin spaceships is undergoing testing in Mojave, California. So far, the ship, known as VSS Unity, has made three glide flights. The company has not said when Unity's first powered test flight will be, nor how many flights are expected before the start of commercial service.
About 500 people have signed up to take a ride on SpaceShipTwo. Tickets are currently selling for $250,000.

Intricate glass creations such as miniature castles and tiny pretzels can now be fabricated using 3D printing, according to a new study. The technique could one day be used to manufacture lenses for smartphone cameras as well as other key glass components, researchers said.
Archaeological research suggests humans have employed glassmaking for millennia. The process typically requires hot furnaces and harsh chemicals. Recently, scientists have investigated whether they could sidestep these drawbacks using 3D printing.
A 3D printer is a machine that creates items from a wide variety of materials: plastic, ceramic, metal and even more unusual ingredients, such as living cells. These devices work by depositing layers of material, just as ordinary printers lay down ink, except 3D printers can also deposit flat layers on top of each other to build objects in three dimensions. Until now, the only methods for shaping glass using 3D printing also required using a laser or heating the materials to searing temperatures of about 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit (1,000 degrees Celsius), the researchers in the new study said. In both cases, the end products were coarse, rough structures that were not suitable for many applications, the researchers added.
"People thought glass was too difficult to work with via 3D printing," said study senior author Bastian Rapp, a mechanical engineer at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Germany

Now, scientists have developed a new technique to fabricate complex glass structures using a standard 3D printer. The secret, the researchers said, is something they call "liquid glass."
"What this work does is it closes an important gap in the palette of modern 3D printing," Rapp told Live Science.
The scientists began with particles made of silica, the same material used to make glass. These particles were only 40 nanometers, or billionths of a meter, wide, which is about 2,500 times thinner than the average strand of human hair.
These silica nanoparticles were dispersed in an acrylic solution. The researchers could then use a standard 3D printer to fabricate complex items using this "liquid glass," the study said. Ultraviolet light could harden these objects into a kind of plastic similar to acrylic glass.
When these pieces of plastic were exposed to temperatures of about 2,370 degrees F (1,300 degrees C), the plastic burned away while the silica nanoparticles fused together into smooth, transparent glass structures, the study said. With the aid of additives, this technique can print colored glasses, tinted green, blue or red, for example, the researchers said.
"Glass is one of the oldest materials that mankind has used, and it's still a high-performance material, and for many applications, the only choice of material," Rapp said. "What our research does is bridge a necessary gap between 21st-century manufacturing techniques and a material that's centuries old."
The commercial 3D printer the researchers used could print features as tiny as a few dozen microns. For comparison, the average human hair is 100 microns wide.
This new method does not require harsh chemicals, and it produces glass components smooth and clear enough for use as lenses and in other applications, the researchers said.
"You can think of creating tiny lenses for smartphone cameras," Rapp said. "You can think about creating chemically and thermally resistant micro reactors made from glass that chemical reactions can take place in."
This new technique could also help create optical and photonics components for high-speed data transmission, Rapp said. (Photonic devices manipulate light just as electronic circuits manipulate electricity.) "You can also think much bigger, with 3D curved pieces of glass for architecture," Rapp said.
"We are now spinning off a company to commercialize this technology," Rapp said. "We hope that in a few years' time, glass will be as convenient to 3D print as plastic is nowadays."
The scientists detailed their findings online April 19 in the journal Nature.
Scientists say they have found evidence that humans butchered a mastodon in California more than 100,000 years before the first humans were believed to have stepped foot on North America.
If that sounds unbelievable, you’re in good company. “My first reaction on reading the paper was, ‘No, this is wrong. Something’s wrong,’” says John McNabb, an archeologist with the University of Southampton who was not involved with the research, in a video produced by Nature.
The mastodon fossil was discovered in 1992 on a construction site in San Diego, but it’s taken a quarter century of research for research to build the case to say that yes, this is a site of human activity, and yes, it is indeed much older than anyone previously believed possible. New radiometric analysis, published Wednesday in Nature, dates the mastodon bones to 130,000 years ago.
No human fossils of that age have been found on the American continent, yet. But you can bet after this a lot of people are about to start looking for them. “If it does turn out to be true, it changes absolutely everything,” McNabb says.
The researchers involved with the find say they have multiple lines of evidence to support the assertion that the mastodon was slaughtered by humans using stone tools shortly after its death. Distinct breakage patterns, as well as scrapes and other markings on the bones, are consistent with other sites where humans have broken apart bones with rock hammers and anvils to harvest the marrow or fragments of bone. The researchers also conducted their own experiments smashing elephant bones and saw similar patterns. Other possible way the bones could have been shattered and scattered produce patterns inconsistent with what was found at this site, they argue.
Also, the fragments of bone were found near large stone rocks, and the scientists could not find an explanation for how they got there besides human transport. The stones were found in a layer of deposited silt, where you would not naturally find large rocks.
It’s going to take more evidence at more sites before the archeological community buys in completely to this new story, but if that happens, the story of the first North Americans will look very different.
If you slept through high school history, here’s your refresher. The dominant theory for decades was that the first people came to North America over the Bering Land Bridge between Russia and Alaska when water levels were much lower during the Ice Age, about 13,000 years ago.
It was a tidy theory, but one that’s currently in upheaval as more and more evidence has surfaced that humans must have come sooner, and over water. For example, last year a mastodon kill site in Florida was dated to 14,500 years, long before folks traveling over the Bering Land Bridge could have gotten there. Rare archaeological sites in North and South America have been dated to possibly as old as 30,000 years — but 130,000 years is something altogether different.
If verified, it would mean that humans figured out how to get to North America long before anyone expected. It would open endless new questions about who these people were, how they got to California, and if they died out or quietly persisted through the millennia.
The scientific process is constantly accepting new data and revising the story based on the available evidence. Normally, we expect new discoveries to fit within the framework of what was previously known. This is not that. “It’s less than a filling in of a gap than an opening of a whole new chapter,” says McNabb.
