The 'government or aliens' are secretly testing anti-gravity spacecraft over Devon, claim conspiracy theorists

    • Footage uploaded to YouTube appears to show a spinning triangle of lights
    • Conspiracy theorists say aliens are conducting anti-gravity flights
    • But one leading expert believes a drone or Chinese lanterns are more likely

Strange lights have been spotted in the night sky over Devon, which UFO hunters believe are proof that aliens or the government are conducting anti-gravity flights.

A popular UFO hunting YouTube channel has uploaded footage of an encounter by a bus driver showing a bizarre triangular shaped object.

But one leading expert believes that a more down to Earth explanation, like a drone or Chinese lanterns, is more likely.

     Scroll down for video

    ANTI-GRAVITY

Many of the 'spacecraft' captured on amateur footage over they years appear to hover and move at great speed in any direction, according to conspiracy theorists.

They usually do so silently, leading the UFO community to conclude that they do not use conventional methods of propulsion.

One popular explanation is that the craft utilise a method of anti-gravity called electrogravitics, which uses an electrical field to reduce an objects mass.

This could theoretically free it from gravity's clutches and allow it to move in the unusual manner of a UFO.

The video, which appears to show a spinning triangle of lights above Exmouth, in east Devon, was captured by a bus driver who was on a break.

Speaking to UFO website Mufon, the unknown driver is reported to have said: 'I was taking to my best man about my upcoming wedding on the phone.

'I would normally be in our restroom, but since the clock in the restroom was fast I had gone out early to wait while still chatting to my friend.

'While I was talking, I was just kind of walking about near the leisure centre, where my bus stops, when I looked randomly over in the direction of the river, which is when I saw the three lights in a triangle pattern rotating on its axis and wobbling slightly.'

A video discussing the object, which was spotted at around 9:40 pm on April 17 this year, was uploaded to YouTube by UFO Hunters Secure Team 10 earlier this week.

There, it is argued that the craft, known as a TR3B among UFOlogists, is likely of alien or governmental origin.

One popular explanation is that the craft utilise a method of anti-gravity called electrogravitics, which uses an electrical field to reduce an objects mass.

This could theoretically free it from gravity's clutches and allow it to move in the unusual manner of a UFO.

Speaking in the video, Tyler Glockner from the channel, which has almost a million subscribers, said: 'They've been linked to secret government projects but we've also seen these things in space, so I guess the jury is still out on who owns them and who is operating them.

'I'd wager a guess to say that we both are. There are people outside the planet that have craft like these and the US government has these craft as well.

'This same object has been spotted multiple times. I think there's something strange going on above England.'

But not everyone is convinced that the footage shows anything sinister.

Alien expert and author of the UFO Investigations Manual Nigel Watson believes a more simple explanation is likely.

Speaking to MailOnline, he said: 'The objects are hard to distinguish due to lack of detail.

'Three lights can imply a triangular structure behind them, but in this case the lights seem to be moving about as if they are linked together or flying in close proximity to each other.

'They are silent so they couldn't be caused by an helicopter or conventional aircraft.

'There is a possibility that they are attached to a drone or three drones, or that they are Chinese lanterns that often look as if they are in formation and move swiftly and silently in the night sky.

'I think those possibilities or more likely than them being the lights of an alien spacecraft or a secret aircraft being tested over England.'

DO YOU BELIEVE IN CONSPIRACY THEORIES?

People who doubt the moon landings are more likely to be selfish and attention-seeking, according to a study earlier this year.

Over the course of three online-based studies, researchers at the University of Kent showed strong links between the belief in conspiracy theories and negative psychological traits.

Writing in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, the team explained: 'Previous research linked the endorsement of conspiracy theories to low self-esteem.'

In the first study, a total of 202 participants completed questionnaires on conspiracy beliefs, asking how strongly they agreed with specific statements, such as whether governments carried out acts of terrorism on their own soil.

Alongside this, they were asked to complete a narcissist scale and a self-esteem assessment.

The results showed that those people who rated highly on the narcissism scale and who had low self-esteem were more likely to be conspiracy believers.

Close encounter of the Manitoba kind

Precisely a half-century ago, the Falcon Lake Incident vaulted an amateur Winnipeg prospector into a UFO-sighting celebrity

WHITESHELL PROVINCIAL PARK — The truth is outthere, but so still are the answers.

New Mexico may have its Roswell, Britain has its Rendlesham Forest, Nova Scotia has its Shag Harbour, but Manitoba also has a claim to stake when it comes to one of the most notable unidentified flying object sightings around the world.

Fifty years ago, an amateur prospector saw something at a remote spot in this provincial park that changed his life and the lives of his family members, and not always for the better.

No one knows for sure what Stefan Michalak saw while he was looking for signs of gold and silver in the rocks in the Precambrian shield, but numerous military and scientific experts went to the site, tested the area, repeatedly interviewed him and, in the end, the report of the United States government-sponsored UFO project concluded that the incident was "unknown."

Stan Michalak points out landmarks matching those in a sketch his father, Stephen, provided to the RCMP following the 1967 UFO incident he witnessed.

JESSICA FINN / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS

Stan Michalak points out landmarks matching those in a sketch his father, Stephen, provided to the RCMP following the 1967 UFO incident he witnessed.

Surprisingly, it was only a few days ago that for the first time, his youngest son Stan — who was nine years old at the time and has now co-written a book being launched this weekend about how his family experienced the unwanted attention from authorities and the media — visited the site itself, the big bang of the incident and the elephant in his family’s life.

"I’ve always wanted to do it — and then not," Stan said earlier this month shortly before going to the site accompanied by the Free Press. "I don’t know why. This is closure. Putting the book together is kind of farewell, and I’m done.

"This will be the first and last time. It is a chapter of our family life and history that remained before us for a long time."

What Stefan — who also went by Stephen and Steve — saw on May 20, 1967, at about 12:15 p.m., is now known around the world as the Falcon Lake Incident, considered one of the most documented UFO sightings of all time.

In a short 40-page booklet entitled My Encounter With The UFO, which Michalak wrote a few months after the sighting in his native Polish — and then had it translated into English — he said, "Up until the time and the events I am about to describe I had no special interests in ‘flying saucers’ and other strange phenomena one hears about time and again.

"Maybe they are real, maybe not, but I had never been seriously concerned about them. Not until May 20, 1967, when I, perhaps as nobody else — or at least very few — came in such a close contact with one of those strange objects commonly called UFOs."

    WINNIPEG FREE PRESS

Stefan Michalak suffered burns to his torso during his encounter. “A sharp beam of heat had shot from the craft... My chest was severely burned.”

It all began when Michalak, 51, married with three children, and self-described amateur prospector, went to the Whiteshell on the Friday of the first long weekend of the summer looking for precious metals. As he had done before, he stayed at a motel that used to be on the south side of the Trans-Canada Highway. At 5:30 a.m. he got up, crossed the road, and began finding his way north through the pine trees and rock formations. Eventually, he got to a small peninsula on top of which were exposed rocks, trees and scrub, with a lake on one side and marsh on the other two.

He was chipping away at a quartz formation, just after eating lunch, when he was "startled by the most uncanny cackle of the geese that were still in the area. Something had obviously frightened them.

"Then I saw them. Two cigar-shaped objects with humps on them about halfway down from the sky. They appeared to be descending and glowing with an intense scarlet glare. As these ‘objects’ came closer to the earth they became more oval-shaped."

One took off a few minutes later, while the second one landed about 50 metres from where he was crouching. He said there was an opening near the top of the craft with brilliant purple light coming out. After waiting several minutes, he went closer, stopping when he heard voices.

"They sounded like human, although somewhat muffled by the sounds of the motor... I was able to make out two distinct voices, one with a higher pitch than the other."

Still thinking it was likely some type of new American craft, Michalak called through the opening, at first in English. When he didn’t receive any response, he called out in other languages. He even stuck his head in the opening where he saw "a maze of lights."

The opening suddenly closed, but just before the craft took off, he touched it. It was so hot it burned the glove he had on.

"All of a sudden the craft tilted slightly leftward. I turned and felt a scorching pain around my chest. My shirt and my undershirt were afire. A sharp beam of heat had shot from the craft. I tore my shirt and undershirt and threw them to the ground. My chest was severely burned."

Newspaper photos of the time show Michalak, his pyjama top open, with a series of circular third-degree burn marks making a square pattern on his chest.

Then Michalak began to get a headache, started vomiting and felt weak. He was able to stumble out of the bush and later that evening board a bus back to Winnipeg; his eldest son Mark drove him to Misericordia hospital to treat his burns. Doctors there, and in the United States, never could say how he got the burns. The next day he gave his first press interview, the first of many in the days, months and years ahead with media, law enforcement, government and military authorities.

A box of the booklets, written when Michalak and the family grew tired of answering the same questions from strangers, was stationed by the front door so that Mark could hand them to the curious.

Michalak concluded the booklet by not blaming whatever — or whoever — was on the craft for his injuries.

"The burns and suffering I had endured were not caused by any aggressive moves of the craft or its occupants... if I stayed farther away from the craft I would not have been burned or suffered in any other way.

"I offer this warning to all who may also encounter such a craft: keep away from it far enough to protect yourself."

    Who was Stefan Michalak?

At the beginning of his booklet, Michalak introduces himself as having being born 51 years earlier in Poland and emigrating to Canada in 1949, after "the turbulent years of the Second World War that started in my homeland."

Those "turbulent years" included becoming a junior officer in the Polish army just before the Nazi blitzkrieg stormed in and took over the country, and then joining the Polish Home Army in resistance operations against the Germans. Because they were associated with him, his future wife Maria and her two sisters were arrested and sent to a concentration camp in 1943. All three survived and were liberated two years later.

Michalak, who was now serving with the resistance against the Communist regime, was forced to escape the country, even though Maria, now his wife, had one child and was pregnant with another. They didn’t see each other for almost a decade. They first lived in Regina, where their third child was born, and then moved to Winnipeg.

He was working at Inland Cement, located on Kenaston Boulevard behind IKEA, when he went off to the Whiteshell for what he figured would be one more weekend of looking for precious metals.

By all accounts, Michalak was not somebody who lied and certainly was not somebody who was seeking publicity. He just wanted someone to tell him what he saw and felt it was his duty to report it to the authorities.

Sketch made by Stefan Michalak after witnessing an unidentified flying object in 1967. It’s now widely known as the Falcon Lake Incident.

By horse, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the site located a few kilometres north of the townsite of Falcon Lake. The trail is narrow, marked with a few elevation changes, and boulders and small rocks that horses try to avoid. There are plenty of tree branches and trunks forcing detours, and streams and boggy areas to cross.

But at least there’s a trail. When Michalak first went to the site, he was simply walking through the bush looking for minerals. He couldn’t even find the site the first time he tried to locate it for police, and then Life magazine. He managed to find it again about a month later.

A half-century later, everything has changed. Then-immature trees are now mature, towering over the site. Young trees are filling in some of the sightlines Michalak would have had. Much of the flat rock area is now covered by lichen and short plants.

But, the outlines of the site, as seen on a drawing he made of the area by memory for the RCMP and Royal Canadian Air Force, are still there.

It took most of Stan’s lifetime to get to the site. Maybe it was part of his personal catharsis of finally seeing the spot his dad saw through his own eyes, but the overriding thought he expressed aloud was simply: "What the hell was he doing here?"

Holding a copy of the hand-drawn map his father had made of the site, Stan continued to stand in place while looking around. Then he walked around, examining for a few seconds the line of quartz running through the rock. He peppered UFO expert Chris Rutkowski, who travelled with him to the site, with a few questions to get a better sense of where everything was. He walked some more, shaking his head back and forth. And then he looked off into the distance seeing only reeds, water and mud between where he was and the lines of trees in the distance.

It might not have been what Stan expected.

"There is nothing here to attract or entrance," he said. "But I guess this was just a stop. He chipped at some rocks. He took a break. If it hadn’t happened he would have moved on until he was tired and then gone back to the hotel.

    "But that’s not what happened."

Seeing the site didn’t shake his continued belief of what his father saw.

"I always believed that what he said was the truth," Stan said.

"I think what happened is exactly as he described... it pisses me off that people didn’t believe him.

    "I still get angry.

BORIS MINKEVICH / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS

Chris Rutkowski is the UFO expert in Winnipeg. He has a piece of radioactive metal (in photo) from a UFO incident.

Chris Rutkowski, research co-ordinator of Winnipeg-based Ufology Research — and Canada’s foremost UFO expert — said the Falcon Lake Incident is one of almost 2,000 sightings from Manitoba’s historical records.

"If it’s a hoax it has enough complications to make it one of the best on record," Rutkowski said.

"It is even better than Roswell, because with that one the government denies anything happened... and it takes effort to get to the place. But (Falcon Lake is) part of Manitoba’s history."

Rutkowski said 1967 was "a watershed year" for UFOs in Canada.

"There were UFOs in Shag Harbour, where it crashed in the ocean, another in Rivers, Manitoba and a case in Calgary, where a photograph was taken of a silver object. Right across Canada there were an amazing number of sightings, for some reason."

There are about 1,200 reported UFO sightings every year across Canada, he said. About three to five per cent can’t be explained away.

"None say we’ve been visited by aliens, but they are very curious cases," he said.

Rutkowski said he not only has copies of the hundreds of documents produced by the authorities, he also has in his possession a piece of the melted radioactive metal found at the site.

Rutkowski said that from his knowledge of all the other cases, the Falcon Lake Incident is notable because, "(Michalak) reported just the facts without very much embellishment."

"If I’d made it up I would have gone to town (with details), but he said what he saw. He didn’t care of anyone believe him or not.

"As far as what Stefan Michalak encountered — I have no idea. But it’s a riveting story."

Five decades on, whatever happened near Falcon Lake is still of interest to UFO enthusiasts. Regular folks, too.

Local resident Bob Firth has no doubt that Michalak saw what he reported that day. Firth, who works at the Falcon Lake Golf Course, may have seen one of the two objects.

"I was 14 at the time," he said. "It is such a weird story."

Firth said he and three friends were at the beach on the south side of Falcon Lake when they saw something on the other side, north of the lake, moving westward.

"It was little. If you hold your thumb up, it would be that big. The thing just jumped across the sky. ‘What is that?’ And I said, ‘it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a flying saucer.’

"I didn’t think anything more about it."

But later that weekend while his family was in Winnipeg to see Victoria Day fireworks, someone ran up to them and started talking about the Falcon Lake sighting. That’s when Firth realized he might have seen the same thing.

"I was later interviewed by someone with the University of Manitoba," he said. "In my mind I can still see it. Something crossed the sky and disappeared."

Barb Hamilton didn’t see the UFO, but that didn’t stop her and other local kids from getting caught up in all the excitement.

"I was 12 at the time and for young kids, after what happened, it started everyone to wonder," she said. "We kids got together and formed a little club for UFOs."

And they thought they were hot on the trail when one of them heard a beeping sound in the forest.

"We were all convinced it was something. We called all the kids together and we went off in the direction of the beeping sound. We couldn’t find it and came flying back and just screamed."

But Hamilton said her dad suggested they speak with a wildlife expert and, after they did, she heard the sound of the Saw-whet Owl.

"Its mating call sounds like a machine," she said, but quickly added that she doesn’t doubt Michalak’s story.

"I don’t think Stefan was making it up," she said. "I think he saw something. I just can’t explain it."

Falcon Beach Ranch owner Devin Imrie offers trail rides to the site for people who make reservations in advance.

This weekend, the ranch is hosting a 50th anniversary commemorative event with escorted trail rides to the site.

"We’ve been going to the site for a number of years now," he said.

"It’s a real range of people who go there. We get a lot of people who had been in the area as kids. Others never heard of it before they came here and think it sounds interesting. And then we get a few UFO enthusiasts who know more about it than I know.

"They all are just fascinated by it."

Imrie, who grew up at the ranch, said he did a school project on the incident.

"It really is part of the history of this community," he said.

LAUNCH OF WHEN THEY APPEARED — FALCON LAKE 1967: THE INSIDE STORY OF A CLOSE ENCOUNTER

The Falcon Beach Ranch is hosting a 50th anniversary celebration of the Falcon Lake incident Saturday and Sunday, including escorted horseback rides to the landing site at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., a barbecue dinner and a fireside chat with Stan Michalak, Chris Rutkowski and others. The cost is $65.

As well, reservations are taken at other times of the year for trail rides to the site. Call 204-349-2410 or go to www.falconbeachranch.com for more information.

    Canada’s history, too.

On June 29, 1967, a rookie Manitoba MP stood up in the House of Commons and asked a question about UFO investigations and the Michalak case.

"I had felt obliged to ask a question — it had happened in my riding," said former governor general and premier Ed Schreyer, then an NDP member of Parliament.

"Plus, I was intrigued that someone seemed so genuinely convinced he had seen something inexplicable. I asked the question and the question was taken not by one of the ministers, but by the prime minister himself.

"What did (Lester) Pearson do? He took it as notice."

A few days later, Pearson offered him a chance to look through the government’s file on the matter. Schreyer refused.

"I didn’t take it because it required an understanding that you had to keep the contents confidential," Schreyer said. "I thought that would put me in a problematic position. I just wanted to make sure there was no danger to the individual, the family and the country.

"I was reassured there was no significant danger... it was left somewhat as an open question."

A few months later, defence minister Leo Cadieux was quoted in Hansard as saying "it is not the intention of the Department of National Defence to make public the report of the alleged sighting."

Although he never met Michalak in person, speaking to him at the time on the phone, Schreyer said he hopes to visit the site this summer with his grandchildren now that he knows they can get there on horseback.

"Having made a point of trying to find out more information at the time, yes, I’d like to see the site with my own eyes."

    •••

Standing on the flat rock that his father described as the one the UFO landed on, Stan was surprised how accurate his father’s hand-drawn map — drawn from memory in the days after the incident — really was.

While he expected to see the flat rock, he didn’t know it was sloped slightly.

"It still baffles me — the slant we are on — but then I remembered how he described the object tilt as it went up," Stan said. "Now I know it probably tilted because it was coming up from a slope."

Again Stan wondered: "What the hell was he doing here?"

"There is nothing for him here, the geology stakes and the looking for precious metals," he said. "I sure as hell wouldn’t want to spend time here.

"But he was here. I know that now."

And he has a theory about why his dad, and many others around the world, have reported so many UFOs in the post-Second World War years.

"When we blew up the first nuclear bomb and we sent our first radio signals, we got attention. Maybe it was, ‘What are they doing on that planet? Oh, they’re killing each other. Let’s check back in a few hundred years.’"

    •••

When Michalak died on Oct. 28, 1999 at the age of 83, there was no mention in his obituary of the Falcon Lake Incident, only of how his "passion for this vast, new country developed into a love of nature, open spaces, animals and birds and a celebration of what Canada’s unending wilderness had to offer" and that "geology became one of his hobbies and the reason for many trips to the wilderness to see the world in a grain of sand."

For a man whose hobby of prospecting had given him such joy, the Falcon Lake Incident also marked the end of his amateur prospecting career, Stan said.

"When he died, we found several wooden boxes of rocks in the basement. I kept only one or two samples — the rest went into the garden."

ENGELSE KRANT SPREEKT OVER BUITENAARDSE INVASIE ( VIDEO )

ALIEN MEGASTRUCTURES ORBIT 64 NEARBY STARS SAYS ASTRONOMER

Astronomers have more or less confirmed it. Not just one, but 64 alien-like mega structures are said to be orbiting stars close to Earth. Astronomers of various credibility have claimed that these mega structures are more likely to be shaped like thin discs rather than spherically. Many astronomers have a general consensus: If you know where to look, you can probably find these orbiting alien megastructures.

It all started out as a confusion, maybe even a glitch in the equipment that was used. However, as checks were done, more and more confirmed that this was not a technical error. Tabetha Boyajian, a postdoc at Yale, told The Atlantic that "It was really weird. We thought it might be bad data or movement on the spacecraft, but everything checked out.” This means to say that this is not a false alarm, but a rather shocking and true statement of fact from a credible source.

Many astronomers, based on the research that they have gotten, are now starting to gather evidence that these mega structures are actually the Dyson Sphere - a theory that was hypothesized by the physicist and mathematician Freeman Dyson. The Dyson Sphere isn't some fairy-tale - it proves that super advanced civilizations are out there in the galaxy. We are not alone.

Why does this prove that super advanced civilizations, so much more advanced than humankind actually exists? In his theory, Dr. Dyson theorized that as a civilization advances, its energy demand constantly increases, and exponentially, one day, if human civilization were to last long enough, this energy output could actually rival that of a sun.

The Dyson Sphere is a theory of a mega machine that is able to collect the power output of an entire star. Who needs that much energy to power their homeland, and what do they have that requires that much power? Do these logical questions sound scary enough to you yet?

An illustration of the megastructures stealing energy from a star

The theory that humankind is not alone in the entire universe might seem like a far-fetched tale, but in recent years, and as our technological advances in research and Space improves, humankind finds more and more shocking secrets - let us hope that these alien like mega structures are one from a friend - not a foe, if not we would have a reenactment of the Marvel movies - but in real life. If that doesn't sound scary enough for you, nothing ever will.

ENGINEER TALKS ABOUT HIS WORK WITH UFOS AND ALIENS AT AREA 51

Bill Uhouse, a former mechanical engineer, revealed that he used to work in collaboration with Grey Aliens at Area 51. One alien he named "J-Rod" taught him how to use the alien vehicle.

The interviewer was German ufologist and author Michael Hesemann. I can hear it from his voice cause he has a little speech impediment. He wrote many good books about UFOs too.

Secret UFO crash site ‘identified’ in satellite images of Antarctica, claims expert

A RUSSIAN UFO hunter claims to have identified evidence of a giant alien spaceship that crash-landed in remote Antarctica.

    By George Mills

Valentin Degteryov posted images of his findings online, leaving viewers baffled.

The video clearly shows a dark object lying next to a large crater close to the Eklund Islands on the world’s most southernly continent.

As the clip continues, it shows the scale of the giant mystery entity – which Degteryov claims measures more than 1,900ft.

MYSTERY LIFE: A UFO hunter claims to have identified an alien spacecraft in the Antarctic

He claimed the supposed alien wreckage, which he spotted while studying the continent using images from Google Earth, became visible due to melting ice in Antarctica.

“The huge spaceship in Antarctica,” he wrote online.

“Millions of years ago in Antarctica, the huge spaceship crashed.

HOAX?: Some have pointed out the mystery shape could also be a giant rock

“It has fallen on the big mountain. It's length is 600 meters. It became visible after the ice descended.”

Reaction to the stunning discovery has been mixed, with some claiming the clip proves nothing while others remain convinced of its authenticity.

“You simply can’t trust photographs as definitive evidence any more, Photoshop probably has a UFO button by now,” wrote one viewer.

Another said: “Does the first logical explanation we reach really have to be a UFO, not a rock?”

UFO hunter claims proof of giant alien ship that crashed 'millions of years ago'

A Russian conspiracy theorist claims these images show the wreckage of a huge alien spaceship which crash-landed in Antarctica millions of years ago.

Valentin Degteryov posted images of the UFO, which he claims has gone undiscovered because it is covered with snow, after spotting the dark shape on Google Earth.

The UFO hunter, from Nizhny Tagil in Western Russia, says the object is 1,900-feet long.

He believes the wreckage has only become visible now because of ice melting on the earth’s most southerly continent.

A video posted by Degteryov has attracted hundreds of thousands of hits since it was uploaded yesterday.

But many dismissed his theories, and said the shape was just a rocky outcrop on a barren mountain.

Valentin listed the coordinates of the object as 73~13’55.09″S,71~57’12.98″W.

It’s not the first bizarre UFO theory to emerge based on satellite images.

In March, another UFO hunter claimed images from Nasa’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter prove there are “mobile alien bases” on the surface of the Moon

Other snaps, captured by the Mars Rover Curiosity, appeared to show a green marble scattered among rocks on the planet’s surface.

This story originally appeared in The Sun.

If Australian UFO enthusiasts hope to retain government money, they may need more proof of terrestrial activity.

The nation's Social Services Minister, Christian Porter, has described having "a beam me up, Scotty" moment after learning his department had approved grants to the Tuggerah Lakes UFO Group.

The group has received A$6,000 (£3,400; $4,500) since 2013 under funding to support volunteers with disabilities.

Mr Porter has halted the payments to seek "more detail" about the group.

"I'm sure they are very nice people and there are lots of volunteers who are getting something out of it, but looking at it from my perspective, representing taxpayers, it did not seem to pass a common sense test," Mr Porter said on the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

    Funds on hold

The New South Wales group has more than 800 members on Facebook, where it says it shares "news, information, support friends and network in UFO matters as well as related topics".

When asked about apparent sightings in the region, Mr Porter said: "You tend to find a lot of sightings when you are funding UFO-sighting groups, I tend to think. But we will see what they are about."

The Tuggerah Lakes UFO Group has been contacted for comment.

A person identified as a spokeswoman told the Central Coast Gosford Express Advocate: "We have elderly people we pick up and take to meetings, where we need projectors and microphones so everyone can see and hear what is going on."

Australia's social services minister on Friday launched an urgent investigation to determine how a UFO group received thousands of dollars in taxpayers' funds.

Christian Porter described having a "beam me up, Scotty" moment when he discovered that his department approved nearly AUD6,000 (£3,400) of grants for the Tuggerah Lakes UFO Group on the New South Wales central coast since 2013.

"I'm sure they're very nice people and there are lots of volunteers who are getting something out of it, but looking at it from my perspective, representing taxpayers, it didn't seem to pass a common sense test," Mr Porter told ABC News.

"I asked the department to hold the transmission of funds until they could give me a little more detail around what the group does."

The funding, exposed by national news, was initially provided by the Labor government to assist with the cost of transporting volunteers with a disability.

Asked about the Central Coast's reputation as a UFO sightings hot spot, boasting the most apparent sightings of UFOs in the country, the minister said that "you tend to find a lot of sightings when you're funding UFO sighting groups."

The department approved AUD2,645 for the UFO group in the 2017 volunteer grant program, according to official records seen by ABC News.

Mr Porter said that the money transfer has been currently put on hold until he is given more detail about what the group does specifically.

Tuggerah Lakes UFO Group received AUD2,994 in 2013 under Labour government.

The Tuggerah Lakes UFO Group has over a thousand followers on Facebook where it says that its mission is to "share information on UFO and related topics, support and encourage likeminded people and encourage UFO Disclosure."

The Telegraph has contacted the UFO group for comment.

AMAZING! British Bus Driver In Exmouth Videotapes Triangular UFO

    triangle-ufo-uk

Three lights in triangular formation were reportedly spotted and recorded on video slowly crossing across the sky above Exmouth in East Devon, England. The British witness, who is a bus driver, noticed the strange lights at 9:41 p.m. on April 17, 2017, while on a break.

The unnamed witness was talking on the phone to his best man for the upcoming wedding while walking near the leisure center where their bus stopped. When he happened to look over in the river, the witness then saw the three lights forming a triangular formation while rotating on its axis and wobbling slightly.

He then felt that the triangular object was unusual. The witness told his mate that he would call back and started recording the lights using his phone. However, the witness was having a difficult time focusing on the formation due to the street lights. To get a better view, the witness decided to go closer to the river.

The witness managed to record almost a 3-minute video initially. He also took seven pictures and another 41-second video. He filed a report to MUFON along with the video of the incident and some pictures. MUFON filed the report as Case 832412 and can be accessed in their witness reporting database. The case is still under investigation led by British MUFON field investigator Karl Webb.

Canada Denies Shag Harbour UFO 50th Anniversary Funding

This year will mark the 50th anniversary of one of the best documented UFO incidents in history, and the community of Shag Harbour applied for a government grant to fund a large celebration. Alas, the Canadian government axed their request which has left organisers scrambling.

At around 11:20 pm on October 4th, 1967, the small fishing village of Shag Harbour in Nova Scotia, Canada was awakened to a loud whistling noise followed by the sound of a crash. A dozen of witnesses saw a bright illuminated object crash into the harbour, and watched for nearly 30 minutes as a bright round shape floated upon the water’s surface before it sank under the depths and vanished. Contacting the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the local detachment sent several officers to the location. Fearing an aeroplane crash, they contacted the Coastguard and the Navy. Local fishing boats went out into the bay to look for survivors, but nothing was ever found and no aircraft were reported missing.

The Shag Harbour UFO Incident is one of the best documented UFO incidents in history. Investigations were conducted by the RCMP, the Canadian Navy and Air force, as well as the US led Condon Committee. A media frenzy followed the event, and the Navy even spent several days after the event combing the sea floor looking for the object. Whatever the people of Shag Harbour saw that night, it has never been identified.

Canada is turning 150 years old this year, and to generate excitement, the Canadian government created a grant program called “Canada 150” to help fund major celebrations around the nation. The Shag Harbour Incident is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the community wanted to do something special.

The society’s vice-president, Brock Zinck, said in an interview,

We can’t get a lot of love here in Shag Harbour; they won’t even give us a [highway] sign…Maybe the government doesn’t want to know we are there.

In regards to the loss of the grant money,

We were excited…It does throw a wrench in our preparations. We had big plans to take it to the next level.

The Shag Harbour Incident Society applied for $20,000 to put on a major event, including a conference with UFO experts and speakers. Many of these speakers had to be flown in from across Canada and the from the United States. The event would have brought significant tourism to the quiet village of 500 people, and the economic benefits would have been significant.

UFO researcher and science writer Chris Rutkowski was slated as one of this year’s guests. Author of several books on UFOs, his latest release, “When They Appeared” came out only two weeks ago. In an exclusive interview with Mysterious Universe, in regards to the benefits of such an event, he stated,

It would have been quite appropriate for a Canada 150 event because it is one of the best-known Canadian [UFO] cases, and one that attracts visitors to Nova Scotia. It certainly would be at least as important as a local community event involving mainstream or more traditional historical projects like museums and artwork.

The internet and its host of conspiracy theorists has taken this denial of funding as another aspect of the “truth embargo” regarding the UFO phenomenon. Perhaps the government is hiding something, and the less attention the Shag Harbour event gets, the better. Most people believe that other cultural events simply took precedence, and the Canada 150 grant committee simply had to make cuts to certain requests.

However, the UFO community in Canada has not taken this news sitting down. Podcasters and UFO enthusiasts around the nation are continuing to bring awareness to the event. Tickets are still for sale, and the society plans to host the event anyway, just on a more grassroots level. Event planners are hoping for the best, and praying for a miracle. The event is slated for September 29th to October 1st 2017, with a celebration party on October 4th.

TR-3B Flying Triangle UFO Patent Now Available to the Public

If you’re one of the hundreds, if not thousands, of people who have seen a triangular UFO over the past two decades or so, now you can see what its original design diagrams look like, courtesy of a viewer (Darian Calhoun) of the Talk is Cheap video podcast and Corey Goode, an unusual fellow who tweeted a link to the podcast and his followers took care of spreading it on the Internet. Where did the diagrams come from? The original patent US 20060145019 A1 for a triangular spacecraft that became the TR-3B!

A spacecraft having a triangular hull with vertical electrostatic line charges on each corner that produce a horizontal electric field parallel to the sides of the hull. This field, interacting with a plane wave emitted by antennas on the side of the hull, generates a force per volume combining both lift and propulsion.

Does that sound like what you saw? The patent, filed on December 20, 2004, by inventor John St. Clair, gets mathematical fairly quickly, but the drawings and abstract make it clear that this is an entirely new spacecraft with a futuristic propulsion system.

This invention relates to a spacecraft propulsion system utilizing a rotating octagon of trapezoidal electrically charged flat panels to create an electric dipole moment that generates lift on the hull. On the interior side of each panel are electrostatically charged rods which produce a planar electric field that emerges from holes in the panel to form an ellipsoidal potential energy bubble on the outside of the hull. The rotating hull dipole moment generates a magnetic moment which, together with the magnetic field gradient developed by the rotating electric field of the electrostatically charged panels, produces said lift force. The potential energy field is enhanced by using a double cladding of hull material with different ranges of permittivities.

Throw in some comments like “This combination of fields produces a spacetime curvature as determined by Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity” and it’s no wonder the military keeps it so well hidden … except for this patent that’s been hiding in plain sight. It’s not clear how “Darian Calhoun” stumbled upon it, but kudos to Talk is Cheap for bringing it out into the open where Corey Goode picked it up.

For those not familiar with him, his Sphere Being Alliance biography describes Corey Goode as “an intuitive empath” (IE) who was recruited at age 6 for a MILAB program (indoctrination for black ops program) where he eventually supported a “rotating Earth Delegate Seat (shared by secret earth government groups) in a “human-type” ET SuperFederation Council.”

He claims to have worked in a “Secret Space Program” interfacing with “non-terrestrial beings.” Goode now works in the information technology and communications industry as well as continuing to use his IE ability to communicate with the Blue Avians (of the Sphere Being Alliance) and “interface with multiple ET Federations and Councils” to “deliver important messages to humanity.”

Like the TR-3B patent? There’s obviously more to this. Iit seems strange that the patent just “suddenly” was discovered. Will someone from the military or the government issue any comments, confirmations or disclaimers? They haven’t so far. For now, we’ll just have to wait for more from Corey Goode.

Social Services Minister Christian Porter has ordered an urgent investigation into how a UFO group in NSW has been given nearly $6000 in taxpayer-funded grants.

A group of UFO enthusiasts has come crashing to Earth with a federal minister ordering an urgent probe into their taxpayer funding.

The Tuggerah Lakes UFO Group on the NSW Central Coast has pocketed nearly $6000 in government money since 2013.

Social Services Minister Christian Porter, whose department dishes out the volunteer grants, is in disbelief.

"It was a bit of a 'beam me up Scotty' moment when I found out about it," he told ABC TV on Friday.

"I'm sure they're very nice people and there are lots of volunteers who are getting something out of it but looking at it from my perspective - representing taxpayers - it didn't seem to me to pass a commonsense test."

Mr Porter has requested his department hold any funds until he gets more information about exactly what the group does.

The group, which has more than 800 members on Facebook, is said to share news and information of UFO matters and support friends and networks.

NSW's Central Coast has long been a hotspot for UFO sightings in Australia.

"It's very hard to unpack cause and effect; you tend to find a lot of sightings when you're funding UFO sighting groups.

"But we'll see what they're all about."

The minister's office has been advised the group was previously funded under the Labor government in 2013 and that some of this grant goes to the transport costs of volunteers with a disability.

5 Reasons We Shouldn’t Be Afraid of Aliens

    Article Image
    (EFKS)

As we perhaps draw thrillingly/terrifyingly closer to discovering life elsewhere in the universe, the chorus of people warning us to be careful what we wish for is growing louder. Most famously, renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has argued for hitting the brakes, reiterating as recently as 2016 his concern about seeking alien contact in his comments about possibly life on Gliese 832c: "One day, we might receive a signal from a planet like this. But we should be wary of answering back. Meeting an advanced civilization could be like Native Americans encountering Columbus. That didn't turn out so well." For example, European germs were deadly for the natives and some fear that could happen to us.

Astrobiologist Lewis Dartnell, however, disagrees with all of this. From his perspective, things are considerably less scary than many think. In an article recently published on Literary Hub, he offers a host of comfortingly solid arguments for why we should stop worrying.

    1. Why Aliens Wouldn’t Want to Enslave Us or Breed with Us

    slaves

Sure, humans have repeatedly enslaved other humans throughout our history, but we’re not that advanced. Our collective sense of guilt may be making us fear that someone else will do to us what we’ve done to others. Dartnell says we’re looking at this wrong.

There’s an increasing concern that we’ll soon find ourselves competing for jobs with robots. After all, they may offer a more efficient form of labor than us humans. Dartnell points out that any civilization advanced enough to traverse space and arrive here would have no need for slaves. He writes, “Constructing robots, or other forms of automation or mechanization, would be a far more effective solution for labor—people are feeble in comparison, harder to fix, and need to be fed.”

    exam

    (ROMMEL CANLAS)

As far as wanting us for breeding purposes, Dartnell’s points out how perfectly in sync two organisms’ chemistry has to be to allow mating — in fact, such mismatches are what separates one terrestrial species from another. For reproduction to be possible, here’s a short list of some of the things aliens would have to share with us. The same:

    • polymer, or RNA, we use for storing genetic information

    • A, C, G, and T genetic letters we use

    • coding system that that translates the letters into proteins

    • chromosomal organizational structure

Given how rare a workable match is even here on earth, Dartnell concludes it’s “overwhelmingly improbable that an alien life form from a completely different evolutionary lineage would be compatible.

    2. Why Aliens Wouldn’t Want to Eat Us

    cookbook

As food, it’s likely we wouldn’t agree with them. In order for an alien to derive any nutrition from us, they’d have to be biochemically similar. They’d have to have enzymes that allow them to successfully break down and make use of the polymers of amino acids, polymers of bases and sugars, and membranes of phospholipids from which we’re made.

Dartnell points that while there’s a chance they’d be made of the same stuff as us — amino acids, sugars and fatty molecules have all been found in meteorites , suggesting they’re common across the universe — there’s an interesting additional wrinkle: Enantiomers. Simple organic molecules can occur in mirror images of each other. As Dartnell says, it’s like how your two hands are the same, but can’t be placed atop each other in alignment. All life on our planet has “left-handed” amino acids and “right-handed” sugars, and any creatures looking to us for sustenance would need to have the same, even if they do share our basic microbiology.

    Unless we’re just really tasty.

    3. Why Aliens Wouldn’t Come Here to Steal Our Water

    Europa

    Europa (NASA/JPL/DLR)

Simply put, there’s plenty of water everywhere, water that would be easier to acquire than the stuff we have. A thirsty alien visiting our solar system would probably head straight for Jupiter’s moon Europa, which holds more liquid water beneath its frozen surface than we have here. There also appears to be lots of water on other icy moons and even in comets and asteroids, the likely sources of our own H2O. It would be easier to suck it off one of those smaller bodies than from a planet like ours with so much gravity trying to hold our water in place.

    4. Why Aliens Wouldn’t Come Here for Some Other Raw Material

    extraction

    (DC COMICS)

Again, asteroids seem like a more logical place to get any of the building materials we have here such as iron, nickel, platinum, tungsten and gold. The lack of gravity would again make them easier to extract from a smaller body. In fact, there are companies on earth planning asteroid mining operations.

What Dartnell suggests may make us a bit more special in this regard is plate tectonics, which hasn’t been seen many other places so far, and could theoretically produce something we’re unaware of that an alien might want. Maybe.

    5. Why Aliens Wouldn’t Want to Colonize and Live Here

    overhead what

    (REUT C)

As an astrobiologist, Dartnell admits that earth hosts a variety of conditions that make it especially suitable for supporting complex life, and that it could therefore be attractive to an extraterrestrial species looking for a new home.

However, he points out that any civilization capable of traversing the mind-boggling expanses of space is probably more than capable of artificially managing, or “bioengineering,” the environment of any planet to make it habitable. If this is so, why would aliens bother with having to eradicate the billions of organisms here that are unlikely to line up with an alien’s own unique biochemistry? It would be quicker and easier to simply design and build a compatible biosphere somewhere free of bothersome inhabitants.

So Why Would Aliens Come Here at All?

    smile

From Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Dartnell suggests that if aliens do appear, it may simply be that they want to meet us. “I suspect that if aliens did come to Earth, it would be as researchers: biologists, anthropologists, linguists, keen to understand the peculiar workings of life on Earth, to meet humanity and learn of our art, music, culture, languages, philosophies and religions” he writes.

    And Where Are They, Anyway?

Dartnell asserts that since we’ve been sending signals out into the void for nearly a century — and recently, intentionally doing so — yet no one has responded, one of two things are most likely:

    1. Either no one’s out there, and we’re alone.
    2. There’s so much intelligent life in the universe that we’re not that special.

Either possibility packs an emotional wallop.

For many of us, the thought of aliens visitation began with movies like Close Encounters of the Third Kind that had us scanning the night skies with a hopeful sense of expectation. Lately, however, some have been shifting our gazes downward with a fearful sort of, “nope, nothing here to look at, keep flying by” attitude. Darnell’s argument makes so much sense, though, that it feels safe once again to look back upward in excitement at that sky full of promising stars.

Scientists are getting excited at the prospect of finding alien life on a recently discovered Earth-sized planet.

The planet, LHS 1140b, is one of seven orbiting a star named Trappist-1.

Soon you'll be able to watch Netflix across Europe as EU bans geographical restrictions

It has immediately been pushed to the front of the queue in the quest to find alien life – because it lies in the ‘Goldilocks’ zone.

This is an area from a star where the surface temperature is not too hot, or too cold, but just right.

This means water could flow in liquid form, rather than as ice or vapour, allowing life to flourish.

      (Picture: Getty)

Astronomers studying the rocky world believe its atmosphere could have supported the world for billions of years.

Jason Dittmann of the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics said: ‘This is the most exciting exoplanet I’ve seen in decades.

‘We could hardly hope for a better target to perform one of the biggest quests in science – searching for evidence of life beyond Earth.’

Further studies are set to take place on the planet, which is 39 light years from Earth.

All seven of Trappist-1’s planets are considered potential candidates for having water in some form, but the chances are highest for three located in the Goldilocks zone.

Xavier Bonfils, an astronomer at the Observatory of the Sciences of the Universe in Grenoble, France, said LHS 1140b now ‘joins Trappist-1 at the head of the rankings’.

He said: ‘We are very excited by this discovery. It’s a super opportunity.’

Atmosphere discovery makes Trappist-1 exoplanet priority in hunt for alien life

An atmosphere that could have enveloped it for billions of years and possible liquid water make planet most likely home for life, say scientists

An Earth-sized world that swings around a star in the constellation of Aquarius has become a priority in the search for extraterrestrial life after scientists found that an atmosphere could have enveloped the planet for billions of years.

The planet is one of seven circling a small and feeble star called Trappist-1 which astronomers reported in a wave of excitement in February this year. The rocky world lies in the habitable zone around its parent star, where temperatures should allow for free-running water, but that would count for little if the planet has no atmosphere.

“Since the discovery of the seven planets there has been a great deal of interest in using telescopes such as the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope to determine whether these planets have atmospheres, and if so, what their composition is like,” said Manasvi Lingam at Harvard University. “It is fair to say that the presence of an atmosphere is perceived as one of the requirements for the habitability of a planet.”

If Earth serves as a good example, the evolution of complex and ultimately intelligent life calls for an atmosphere that not only contains the right blend of gases, but which persists for hundreds of millions, or preferably billions, of years.

With Nasa’s James Webb Space Telescope not due to launch until late 2018, the scientists turned to computer models to find out whether the Trappist-1 planets could have long-lived atmospheres. From details of the Trappist-1 system, which lies 39 light years distant, they worked out the intensity of the stellar wind – the rush of high energy particles streaming out of the star – and the effect it would have on the seven orbiting planets.

The sixth planet, Trappist-1g, appears to be the most likely home for life in the Trappist-1 system.
The Astronomers have used computer models to determine whether the seven Trappist-1 exoplanets could have long-lived atmospheres, thought to be a requirement for complex life.
      Illustration: NASA/PA

Atmospheres that exist around planets soon after they form can gradually be stripped away if they are battered by a strong stellar wind from their parent star. The model showed that the stellar wind from Trappist-1 was much faster and far more dense than the solar wind that reaches Earth. On Trappist-1b, the first planet from the star, the stellar wind was 1,000 to 10,000 times stronger than the solar wind that strikes Earth.

The intensity of the solar wind destroyed the atmospheres of the inner Trappist-1 planets within millions of years. But planets further out fared better, their atmospheres surviving for billions of years, the models found. According to the scientists, while the seventh planet around the star is considered too cold for liquid water to exist on the surface, the sixth planet, Trappist-1g, appears to be the most likely home for life in the Trappist-1 system.

In a report submitted to a leading journal, the scientists write: “The outer planets of the Trappist-1 system, which are expected to retain their atmospheres for longer periods, may therefore support more complex biospheres eventually.”

Amaury Triaud, an exoplanet researcher at Cambridge University who helped discover the Trappist-1 planets said: “The work is quite optimistic that the planets could retain an atmosphere, which is nice to hear. It prepares us for what we might or might not see. Maybe we’ll find atmospheres that are denser and denser for the outer planets.”

“Having too much of an atmosphere containing a lot of hydrogen would be detrimental for life, but if you strip everything down to the surface, it’s also no longer habitable. The moon is the same distance from the sun as the Earth and it has absolutely no signs of life,” he added.

Astronomers have now detected about 3,600 planets beyond the solar system. The Trappist-1 planets orbit incredibly close to their parent, an ultracool dwarf star the size of Jupiter that shines 2,000 times less brightly than the sun. Mercury, the innermost planet in our solar system, is six times farther from the sun than the outermost seventh planet is from Trappist-1.

All seven of the planets have Earth-like dimensions, ranging from 25% smaller to 10% larger than our home planet. Most, if not all, will be “tidally locked”, meaning they show only one face to their star. Such worlds would be defined by stark divisions, with one half in constant daylight, and the other in permanent darkness.

“We don’t really know how life started,” Triaud said. “Some people say life was born at the bottom of the ocean. If that is the case and there is a lot of water on the Trappist-1 planets, then it’s good news: it doesn’t matter which side it is on, because at the bottom of the ocean you have no light at all.

“But if life is born on the surface then the UV irradiation the planets receive is important. It drives chemical reactions to begin with, but it can become an issue for DNA mutations, and whether they were on the day or the night side would matter. There really are a lot of elements,” he said.
