Open Minds UFO Radio: Rich Hoffman has been investigating the UFO phenomena for over 52 years. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio, the home of Project Blue Book, the US Air Force Project that was in place from 1952 to 1969. At age 15 he appeared on a Phil Donahue show in Dayton and became known as the local UFO expert which quickly propelled him into presenting to associations, churches, and many other organizations and appeared on TV and radio. When the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) first formed, he quickly joined and held numerous positions, including the State Director for Alabama, Director of MUFON Strategic Projects and served on the MUFON Science Review Board’s Top 10 case review committee. Rich is also a member of NARCAP, the Planetary Society, and although he is no longer with MUFON, he continues UFO investigations on his own and with the Scientific Coalition for Ufology (SCU). The later is known for their thorough report on a UFO video captured by Homeland Security in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Rich is an IT professional working for a defense contractor firm supporting the Army Materiel Command HQ located at Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, Alabama.
One of Rich’s current projects is the investigation of mysterious balls of lights that appear in Alabama. In this interview, we talk to Rich about this light phenomenon, its history, and Rich’s ongoing investigation.

The total eclipse that will be visible in parts of the U.S. is an exciting celestial event. That has people, such as the ones who made today’s Google search animation, thinking about aliens. Many are wondering if UFO sightings will increase, and some have suggested aliens may be coming to check out the event themselves.
Google search animations are always fun, and several have included aliens or UFOs. However, why they decided to use aliens in today’s eclipse animation is anyone’s guess. As you can see above, the aliens are playing bouncy ball with the Moon. Although it is a fun animation, it is not an educational one. This is not how eclipses occur, but if you click on the image from the Google search page, you will find actual facts about eclipses.
What makes today’s total eclipse special is that it can be seen in the U.S., which is great for those of us in this country who might live in areas where there will be a total eclipse, or those who can take some time off and get to one of those areas.
While eclipses are not created by aliens bouncing the Moon in front of the Sun, some do believe aliens are responsible for the Moon. One of the strange anomalies that give people the idea that the Moon is too peculiar to be natural is the incredible coincidence that makes a total eclipse possible.

An eclipse is created when the Moon passes in front of the Sun, partially blocking its light. Big deal, right? We have all seen a shadow, so that is nothing special. However, the Moon is very small compared to the Sun, so why does it appear to be the same size during a total eclipse? The Sun is actually 400 times larger than the moon. The amazing coincidence is that it is also about 400 times further away as well. This allows it to perfectly block out the sun when it passes in front of it.

Because the Moon perfectly covers the Sun, it allows scientists an opportunity to study the Sun’s atmosphere in a manner that would otherwise not be possible.
Although I am not so sure aliens brought the Moon into Earth’s orbit, I got to admit, this is a weird coincidence.
As for UFO sightings, Nick Pope, former UFO researcher for the Ministry of Defense, recently told the Daily Express UFO sightings do increase during an eclipse.
“Past experience suggests there will be an upsurge in UFO sightings during the total eclipse,” Pope explained. “I suspect many of these will turn out to be news helicopters filming the crowds, or drones flown by amateur photographers, and maybe the sightings occur simply because more people are looking at the sky.”
He predicted there will be hundreds of sightings.
Another UFO researcher, Cheryl Costa, examined UFO sighting reports in an ideal eclipse watching location in her recent blog for the Syracuse New Times.
“Any seasoned sky watcher will tell you that the high desert is where you want to be to observe such a celestial event,” Costa wrote. “For this specific solar eclipse event, the city of Madras, Oregon, is going to be an ideal place. Madras is positioned close to the centerline of the solar eclipse path of totality. At an elevation of 2,242 feet (683 meters), the high desert environment in August is regularly clear skies.”
In order to estimate the possibility of UFO sightings in the area during the eclipse, she ran some numbers.
“According to the UFO Sighting Desk Reference, from 2001-2015, Oregon ranked No. 13 of all 50 states and the District of Columbia with 3,013 reported UFO sightings,” Costa noted.
However, UFO reports are not the only unusual reports we may get from the eclipse. Of course you had my off-the-wall suggestion the Moon was brought here by aliens, but according to Pope, this may be only the tip of the iceberg.
“Sadly, there’s a dark side – pun intended – to the eclipse,” Pope explained to the Daily Express. “Such events bring out the crazies, and I confidently predict that there will be an upsurge in nutjobbery at the time of the total eclipse. I’ve already seen predictions that the world will end, along with suggestions that we’ll see more sightings of Bigfoot, demons, and all manner of other weird stuff.”

Mars may experience snowstorms at night, a new study finds, suggesting that the Martian atmosphere is far more active than previously thought.
Mars is dry compared to Earth: Its cold nature makes it unlikely that any of the ice on the Red Planet's surface would melt, and its extremely thin atmosphere would cause any liquid water on the surface to vaporize nearly immediately. Still, Mars' atmosphere does possess clouds of frozen water.
Previous research suggested that if snow did fall from those clouds, it would waft down very slowly. "We thought that snow on Mars fell very gently, taking hours or days to fall 1 or 2 kilometers [0.6 to 1.2 miles]," said study lead author Aymeric Spiga, a planetary scientist at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris. Now, Spiga and his colleagues have found that snow can rapidly descend on Mars in storms. "Snow could take something like just 5 or 10 minutes to fall 1 to 2 km [0.6 to 1.2 miles]," Spiga told Space.com.
The researchers were analyzing data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft when they noticed a strong mixing of heat in the Martian atmosphere at night "about 5 km [3 miles] from the surface," Spiga said. "This was never seen before.
"You expect heat to get mixed in the Martian atmosphere close to the surface during the daytime, since the surface gets heated by the sun," Spiga explained. "But my colleague David Hinson at Stanford University and the SETI Institute saw it higher up in the atmosphere and at night. This was very surprising."
To explain these findings, the researchers developed an atmospheric model to simulate the weather on Mars. "It took something like three to four years to come up with a model sophisticated enough to reproduce Mars' clouds," Spiga said.
The scientists discovered that the cooling of water-ice cloud particles during the cold Martian night could generate unstable turbulence within the clouds.
"This can lead to strong winds, vertical plumes going upward and downward within and below the clouds at about 10 meters [33 feet] per second," or about 22 mph (36 km/h), Spiga said. "Those are the kinds of winds that are in moderate thunderstorms on Earth."
Snow can get caught inside these winds and rapidly fall downward. The researchers said that such Martian snowfall is analogous to small, localized storms on Earth called microbursts, in which cold, dense air carrying snow or rain gets rapidly transported downward from a cloud.
Any snow landing on Mars would not last long. Once the sun rises, any water ice on the surface would turn to vapor, "unless it was in a very cloudy region or high latitudes," Spiga said.
If the clouds the snow falls from are more than about 1.2 miles (2 km) from the Martian surface, the snow might turn to vapor before it even hits the surface, Spiga added. "This is something observed on Earth sometimes, with something called virga — streaks of rain falling from the clouds can vaporize before reaching the surface," he said.
Martian snowstorms could explain previously unexplained signs of snow detected in 2008 by the laser scanner aboard NASA's Phoenix lander.
"We are able to explain two different mysterious and surprising observations with a single meteorological phenomenon — these snowstorms," Spiga said.
These findings suggest that the Martian atmosphere is more dynamic than previously thought. "Since you have these powerful winds, these are able to vigorously mix anything, such as heat, water, methane, ozone, dust," Spiga said. "We can now use this data to see what impact these winds have on, say, how water moved from one region to another on Mars in the present and past."
Future research will aim to get more glimpses of these Martian snowstorms, Spiga said. "We want to look all over Mars and see when they happen at night, and what seasons they occur and the effect they have on a global scale," he said.
The scientists detailed their findingsonline yesterday (Aug. 21) in the journal Nature Geoscience.
The first demonstration of the 3D printing technology is a cozy, 400-square-foot (37 square meters) home with an unusual, curved shape.

A new house has been erected in a town outside Moscow, but this home was not built in the traditional sense — it was constructed with 3D printing.
The first 3D-printed residential home, engineered by the tech startup Apis Cor, took less than a day to construct and cost under $11,000 to complete. A mobile 3D printer created the building's concrete walls and partitions as a fully connected structure, rather than printing the building in panels at an off-site facility as is usually done, the company said. The portable machine was then removed from the building, and a group of contractors completed the home — adding the roof and windows, and finishing the interior.
"We want to help people around the world to improve their living conditions," Nikita Chen-yun-tai, Apis Cor's founder and inventor of the mobile printer, said on the company's website. "That's why the construction process needs to become fast, efficient and high-quality as well. For this to happen, we need to delegate all the hard work to smart machines."
The first example of this work is a cozy, 400-square-foot (37 square meters) home with an unusual, curved shape. The curved design of the home was chosen to demonstrate the 3D printer's ability to print the construction material in any shape, according to Apis Cor.
Inside, the 3D-printed home has all of the standard features of a traditionally built house. The studio-style dwelling has a hall, bathroom, living room and compact kitchen. Apis Cor partnered with Samsung on the demonstration house; the electronics giant provided the home's appliances, including a TV with the same curvature as the living-room wall.
Apis Cor estimated that the total cost of the demonstration house's construction was about $25 per square foot, or $275 per square meter. Of the total $10,134 it cost to build the home, the windows and doors were the most expensive components, the company said.
While the total construction savings of the demonstation house compared to a tranditional home are difficult to estimate, Apis Cor representatives said in a statement that savings from 3D printing the building walls are guaranteed.

Kolonisatie Musk is er altijd duidelijk over geweest dat het hoofddoel van SpaceX de kolonisatie van Mars is. Hij wil een 1.000-tal ruimteschepen in een baan rond de aarde brengen met herbruikbare raketlanceerders. Die wil hij dan voorzien van brandstoftanks. Iets wat zo'n twee jaar zal duren. Daarna wil hij 100 ruimtereizigers in elk ruimteschip laten stappen, samen met hun bagage en materiaal dat ze nodig kunnen hebben voor de opstart van een kolonie. Die zullen dan samen naar Mars vertrekken.
"Als we de kost voor een reis naar Mars op hetzelfde niveau kunnen brengen als een gemiddeld huis in de VS - 170.000 euro - is de kans groot dat we er een leefbare en zelfvoorzienende kolonie zullen kunnen stichten", zei hij eerder al. Over hun outfit hoeven de ruimtereizigers zich alvast geen zorgen te maken.

Diamanten van onschatbare waarde zitten in de reuzenplaneten Uranus en Neptunus, zo blijkt uit nieuw onderzoek. De 'diamantenregen' wordt gevormd wanneer waterstof en koolstof onder extreme druk tot 7.000 kilometer onder het oppervlak worden geduwd.
Op duizenden jaren tijd zakken de diamanten door de ijslagen om rond de kernen van beide planeten te accumuleren, menen experts.
Het gaat niet om de geringste diamanten. Volgens de wetenschappers kunnen de diamanten miljoenen karaat wegen. Ter vergelijking: de bekende 'Great Star of Africa', de diamant die deel uitmaakte van de Britse kroonjuwelen, weegt 530,4 karaat. De peervormige Great Star of Africa, die in de kop van de koninklijke scepter is verwerkt, is het grootste segment van een diamant die in 1905 in Zuid-Afrika werd ontdekt. De diamant woog meer dan 3.000 karaat.
Uranus en Neptunus staan bekend als de 'ijsgiganten': niet alleen hebben ze een dikke atmosferische laag, ze zijn ook grotendeels uit ijs samengesteld.
Voor de nieuwe studie simuleerden vorsers de extreme omstandigheden binnenin de planeten met een krachtige laser. Die maakte schokgolven in polystyreen, een plastic gemaakt van waterstof en koolstof, om de druk na te maken die onder het oppervlak van de planeten wordt aangetroffen. Bijna elke koolstofatoom in het polystyreen werd opgenomen in microscopische diamantstructuren van enkele nanometers breed, zo melden de wetenschappers in het vakblad Nature Astronomy. Hoewel de vorming van de diamant slechts fracties van een seconde duurde, was dit het eerste duidelijke experimentele bewijs van de theorie.
"Voordien konden we enkel veronderstellen dat de diamanten werden gevormd. Toen ik de resultaten van dit recente experiment zag, was dat één van de beste momenten uit mijn wetenschappelijke carrière", stelt hoofdvorser Dominik Kraus, professor aan het Duitse onderzoekslaboratorium Helmholtz Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR).
A video of a UFO over Warminster, one of many sites seemingly vying for the title of “UFO Capital of the UK,” has many in the arearememberinganother famous UFO seen in the same area over 50 years ago that was given the nickname “Warminster Thing.” Has the ‘thing’ returned? Will Warminster take the unofficial title away from Cornwall?
“I had never seen anything like it before. It really caught my eye. It went on for quite some time before flying off into the distance towards Longleat.”
The UFO was spotted and recorded by Jeremy Le Fevre from his home in Frome, Somerset, which is near Warminster, Wiltshire Both towns are near Longleat where Le Fevre claimed the UFO disappeared to. It’s also near Cley Hill where a strange crop circle appeared recently. Le Fevre gave his thoughts on what the UFO might have been.
“It was emitting green and red colours. It looked to me like it could have been fireworks attached to a drone. It’s still very much unidentified though.”
Many who watched the video noticed its resemblance and close proximity to a UFO reported in June. That one was eventually proven to be lights emitted by a stunt plane belonging to the night air-display acrobatics group AeroSparxwhich is based nearby and performs nighttime shows using planes with fireworks attached to their wingtips. It’s highly likely that the latest UFO is another Identified AeroSparx Object.
Or is it?
Warminster’s spot on the UFO Capital list dates back to Christmas Day, 1964, when a mysterious explosion shook the town. Arthur Shuttlewood described it in his book, The Warminster Mystery:
“The air was brazenly filled with a menacing sound. Sudden vibrations came overhead, chilling in intensity. They tore the quiet atmosphere to raucous rags and descended upon her savagely. Shockwaves pounded at her head, neck and shoulders.”
The noises continued and the descriptions sounded like sonic booms, but no military or government agencies admitted to being responsible. As the booms continued, they were accompanied by reports of unidentified objects in the sky. Arhtur Shuttlewood was one of those witnesses. He was also the features editor at The Warminster Journal newspaper, which put him in the right place to receive a famous photograph taken by Warminster resident Gordon Faulkner of what looked like a flying saucer.
Shuttlewood’s publication of the photo turned Warminster into an early UFO capital, drawing thousands of people hoping to see the “thing” and prompting the city to hold a town meeting to deal with the crowds. The BBC filmed a documentary on the thing in 1966 and sightings continued regularly into the 1980s, prompting other books, the formation of a UFO society and, on the 50th anniversary in 2015, a mural commemorating the event.
With all of that, there’s still no explanation for the Warminster Thing. Aeromax, the likely culprit for the latest UFOs, wasn’t around back then. Sonic booms were and secret aircraft test were still a possibility. The number of sightings in such a short period could also be mass hysteria.
Is the Warminster Thing back? Not likely. However, with the second report of a spark-emitting UFO in Warminster, it could lose its place on the UFO hotspot list unless AeroSparx moves somewhere else.
If you’re still on the fence about NASA, some other space agency or a coalition of governments banding together to develop a plan to destroy or deflect giant asteroids heading towards Earth … what’s wrong with you? How can you be against saving us from the fate of the dinosaurs? Maybe this will knock you over to the “whack those ‘roids back to the Kuiper Belt” side. A new study found that the impact of the Chicxulub asteroid some 66 million years ago stretched far beyond the Yucatan Peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico and its force was felt far longer than first thought.
“Our study picks up the story after the initial effects—after the earthquakes and the tsunamis and the broiling. We wanted to look at the long-term consequences of the amount of soot we think was created and what those consequences might have meant for the animals that were left.”
The study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, was led by National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) scientist Charles Bardeen. He first points out what we already know – the Chicxulub asteroid’s impact sent huge tsunamis across the oceans, created earthquakes and volcanoes and vaporized rock that fell around the planet, sparking fires that cooked plants and animals far from the impact zone.
As bad as that sounds – along with all of the dinosaurs that were killed immediately – this was just the beginning. Using the Community Earth System Model (CESM), Bardeen and his team simulated the effect of the soot from those fires. They found that solar heat lifted the fine particle far higher into the atmosphere than first suspected, and the amount was enough to create a global barrier that completely blocked out the Sun … think eclipse with the moon stuck in the full blackout position for up to 18 months.
It gets worse. The fires killed most plant life and the darkness killed photosynthesis for the rest, so the next step down on the scale of life was phytoplankton, the microalgae that fill the oceans and feed so much of marine life. Unfortunately, phytoplankton themselves feed on … you guessed it … sunlight. Without it, most of the phytoplankton died off, upsetting the ecological balance of the oceans.
We’re here, so obviously, as bad as this sounds, it eventually ended. Surprisingly, the simulation showed that the clearing of the soot happened faster than expected. While the temperature at the planet’s surface dropped substantially — 50 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius) over land and 20 degrees Fahrenheit (11 degrees Celsius) over water – the upper atmosphere got hot as the soot absorbed sunlight. That destroyed the ozone layer, which was replaced by water vapor. This huge reservoir of water eventually cooled, falling to Earth and washing the soot quickly from the atmosphere. Eventually, surviving seeds and phytoplankton revived and the planet came back to life.
Does this sound like a nuclear winter? Bardeen thinks so too.
“The amount of soot created by nuclear warfare would be much less than we saw during the K-Pg extinction. But the soot would still alter the climate in similar ways, cooling the surface and heating the upper atmosphere, with potentially devastating effects.”
Wait a minute … I thought we were talking about killer asteroids, not killer nuclear wars. The devastation would be the same. Which do you think has a higher chance of occurring in your lifetime?
“On the Southwest part of the Archuleta Mesa, we built an underground facility the better part of three cubic miles hollowed out underground. And to the southwest of that, we were in the process of the early stages of building, we drilled four large tunnel-like holes, some of them ran two and a half miles underneath the surface. . . . The drilling machines that were used were at the rate of two miles a day, it was fairly rapid. The equipment kept coming up broken. So we wanted to send somebody down there, a human observer . . . to find out what was going on.”
Above is a quote given by Phil Schneider, who spent two years travelling around the country leaking some very sensitive information. One day, a friend of his named Al Pratt, along with the manager of the apartment complex where Phil lived, found him dead in his apartment. While his death was originally attributed to a stroke, many believe he was murdered for leaking this information.
Phil’s story has gained a lot of attention from UFO researchers, and that’s because his story never changed, and has been corroborated by other people as well. It also aligns with a lot of other information that has been leaked on this subject.
Phil himself claimed to be a government contractor who specialized in engineering and geology. He was tasked multiple times with building underground military facilities.
Now, keep in mind that deep underground military facilities are no conspiracy theory; even in-bottom and under-bottom bases beneath the ocean are most likely a reality. Plans to begin this type of construction began long ago. For example, in 1968, the Stanford Research Institute discussed the construction of dozens of undersea bases in a study titled “Feasibility of Manned In-Botton Bases.”
Programs like these are funded directly by the “Black Budget,” a little-known term that became widespread after Snowden leaked sensitive information about the NSA (and other) global surveillance program(s). These programs do not exist publicly, but they do indeed exist. They are better known as “Deep Black programs” and “Special Access Programs.” A 1997 US Senate report described them as “so sensitive that they are exempt from standard reporting requirements to the Congress.”
Schneider continues:
To our total surprise, first of all the government knew all about it, they didn’t tell anybody. When I saw Green Beret and Black Beret people encamped inside of our geologist camp, I knew something was up, the gig was up. First of all I knew all about the alien agenda — I’ll explain that in a few minutes. The large alien greys had been encamped there for, as best, as believed possible, for about 4 or 500 years. It had been one of their internal bases, and we drilled holes right on top of it. . . . Well, that’s when all hell broke loose, really.

The men in the back are the world’s most brilliant scientists, and the man to the right of the supposed extraterrestrial is Phil’s father, a high ranking navy officer, Oscar Schneider, who has a verified background.
Phil’s story is a long one, with lots of information and research to do. To truly determine if there is any validity behind these claims, and there very well could be, it’s important to really do your research into this field. A wise man once said “condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.” Prior to the Edward Snowden leaks, everybody believed that mere mass surveillance was a conspiracy theory.
When it comes to this subject, with UFOs being verified in the mainstream and talk of intelligent extraterrestrials spreading, it’s always a good idea to keep an open mind. We need to understand that we can entertain an idea without fully accepting it, and we’re living in an age where new information will continue to emerge which challenges and conflicts with old belief systems.

Explosievenexpert en geoloog Phil Schneider zou in 1979 in Dulce in New Mexico hebben geholpen bij de bouw van een geheime ondergrondse basis voor de Amerikaanse overheid.
In 1995 vertelde hij openlijk dat hij tijdens werkzaamheden oog in oog was komen te staan met buitenaardse wezens.

Aanslag

Tot zijn dood in 1997 gaf hij vele lezingen over zijn ervaringen in Dulce. Schneider beweerde dat in de tussenliggende periode herhaaldelijk een aanslag op zijn leven was gepleegd.

Grote gaten
Schneider vond het verdacht dat er zoveel groene baretten aanwezig waren rond het kamp waar de ondergrondse basis moest worden gebouwd.
Er werden vier grote gaten in de grond geboord. Uit de gaten kwam een zwarte roetwolk omhoog, aldus Schneider tijdens een lezing in 1995.
Hij moest tijdens de bouw poolshoogte gaan nemen en kwam oog in oog te staan met een ‘grote Grey’ – een 2 meter lang buitenaards wezen.
Vreemde energie
“Het wezen stonk nog erger dan een vuilnisbak,” zei hij. “Het zag er verschrikkelijk uit.”
Schneider greep naar zijn pistool en doodde twee wezens, maar niet voordat één van hen een vreemde energie op hem kon afvuren.
Het wezen maakte een soort gebaar met zijn hand, waarna Schneider werd getroffen door een blauwe straal die dwars door hem heen brandde.
Hij liet het publiek zien dat hij enkele vingers miste en ook had hij een litteken op zijn borst.
1477 ondergrondse bases
Een groene baret redde Schneiders leven en bracht hem naar een lift. Die dag kwamen meer dan 60 mensen om, aldus Schneider.
De twee andere overlevenden wonen in een verzorgingstehuis in Canada. Ze worden beschermd door de Canadese overheid en geen enkele Amerikaan mag bij ze in de buurt komen omdat ze bang zijn te worden ontvoerd, zei hij.
Volgens Schneider zijn er 1477 ondergrondse bases verspreid over de wereld, waarvan 129 in de Verenigde Staten.
Black Budget
Elke basis zou 17 miljard dollar of meer kosten. Hij zei dat het Black Budget, dat verborgen wordt gehouden voor de overheidsagentschappen en het publiek, een kwart van het Amerikaanse bbp opslokt.
Strijdkrachten uit verschillende landen zijn betrokken bij schermutselingen met buitenaardsen, aldus Schneider.
“De autoriteiten moeten de waarheid vertellen,” zei hij. “Als de waarheid niet volledig naar buiten kan komen, waarom hebben we dan zoiets als vrijheid?”

Voormalig commandant van Joegoslavische luchtmacht generaal Zvonimir Joerjevitsj ging tijdens een interview met het Russische persagentschap Sputnik in op zijn confrontatie met een UFO.
In 1975 was hij gestationeerd in Titograd (nu de Montenegrijnse hoofdstad Podgorica).
Begin januari dat jaar verscheen er een UFO in de omgeving waar hij op dat moment vloog. “Het object leek op een lichtbol en was heel goed zichtbaar,” vertelde hij.
Achtervolging
“Het was ongeveer 10 keer zo helder als de meeste heldere ster op dat moment,” vervolgde hij. “De kleur veranderde constant: wit, geel, rood, oranje en weer wit.”
“Het verscheen uit het niets en trok bewust de aandacht,” herinnerde Joerjevitsj zich. Het object verscheen iedere keer exact 50 minuten nadat hij was opgestegen.
Op 25 januari 1975 besloot hij de UFO te onderscheppen. Toen hij boven de stad Cetinje vloog zette hij de achtervolging in.
Andere piloten
Het object verdween echter al snel uit het zicht.
Dit spelletje duurde meerdere dagen en Joerjetvitsj hield het commandocentrum in Belgrado op de hoogte. Ook andere piloten zagen de mysterieuze UFO.
De generaal besloot met vier straaljagers op het object af te vliegen. Geen van de piloten wist bij de UFO in de buurt te komen.
Radar
Opvallend genoeg verscheen het object niet op de radar. Toen twee MiG-21’s aankwamen vanuit Belgrado kon de ‘vreemde gast’ wel op de radar worden gezien.
“Maar de supersnelle Migs slaagden er niet in om in de buurt van de UFO te komen,” klonk het.
Wat er in 1975 is gebeurd in de lucht boven Joegoslavië is nog altijd een mysterie. De lichtbol is op 12 februari 1975 voor het laatst gezien.

Op 16 september 1994 waren tientallen leerlingen van de basisschool Ariel in de hoofdstad van Zimbabwe getuige van de landing van een UFO.
Er wordt momenteel gewerkt aan een nieuwe film over deze bijzondere gebeurtenis,Ariel Phenomenongeheten.
“De kinderen waren getuige van een bovennatuurlijke gebeurtenis,” zegt de Canadese acteur Dan Akroyd in een nieuwe trailer. “Ze kunnen dit niet hebben verzonnen.”
Zeer serieus
“Dit is geen nieuw fenomeen,” licht hij toe. “We kijken hier al naar vanaf het moment dat in de Bijbel wordt gesproken over het wiel van Ezechiël.”
Lucht- en ruimtevaartdeskundige Coen Vermeeren zegt over dit incident:
“Wie dit dossier bestudeert kan geen andere conclusie trekken dan dat de kinderen een echte en één en dezelfde ervaring hadden, één die de nekharen overeind doet gaan, en één die we zeer serieus zouden moeten nemen. Maar dat doen we natuurlijk niet.”
Schotelvormige objecten
De kinderen zagen hoe drie tot vier schotelvormige objecten langs de hoogspanningsmasten vlogen en uiteindelijk landden in het hoge gras. De kinderen waren bang, maar ook nieuwsgierig.
De leerlingen vertelden aan Harvard-psychiater John E. Mack wat ze hadden gezien. Hij concludeerde na interviews met de getuigen dat ze het verhaal niet hadden verzonnen.
De kinderen beschreven de UFO die naast de school landde. Twee vreemde wezens zouden de leerlingen daarop hebben benaderd.
Wereldberoemd
BBC-correspondent Tim Leach interviewde de leerlingen gelijk na de gebeurtenis. De verhalen van de kinderen gaven hem een ‘nieuwe kijk op het leven en het universum’.
Emily Trim was één van de leerlingen. Ze was acht jaar oud toen het gebeurde. Haar school werd in één klap wereldberoemd toen de BBC over het incident berichtte.
“We hoorden een hoog geluid,” zei Emily. “We zagen een flits en een vaartuig. Twee wezens sprongen op en neer.”
Boodschappen
“Ze waren nieuwsgierig. Ze raakten de grond niet aan. Het leek alsof ze ons na probeerden te doen,” klonk het.
“Plotseling stonden ze voor ons,” ging ze verder. “We stonden aan de grond genageld. Telepathische berichten gingen door me heen, in de vorm van beelden.”
Glimmend pak
Guy, een andere leerling, zei: “Ik zag een kleine man gekleed in een zwart, glimmend pak.”
“Hij had zwart haar en zijn ogen waren groot en ovaalvormig. De mond was niet meer dan een spleet en de oren waren bijna niet te onderscheiden,” vertelde hij verder.

De supervulkaan onder Yellowstone National Park kan in het geval van een uitbarsting de gehele mensheid bedreigen.
NASA wil dat vermijden en heeft een plan bedacht om een uitbarsting te voorkomen. Maar het plan kan als het misgaat juist een nucleaire winter veroorzaken.
Op aarde bevinden zich zo’n 20 supervulkanen, die gemiddeld eens in de 100.000 jaar uitbarsten. Rond Yellowstone was 600.000 jaar geleden voor het laatst een catastrofale uitbarsting.
Onder controle houden
De NASA wil de magmakamer onder controle houden door de supervulkaan af te koelen. Dat kan met behulp van water.
Het alternatief is water onder hoge druk 10 kilometer diep in de magmakamer pompen. Dat zou een slordige drie miljard euro kosten.
Er zouden tienduizenden jaren voor nodig zijn om Yellowstone op deze manier helemaal af te kunnen koelen.
Uitbarsting uitlokken
Maar boren in een vulkaanschacht is niet zonder risico. Zo kun je namelijk juist een uitbarsting uitlokken.
In Yellowstone National Park werd eind juni het hoogste aantal aardbevingen in het natuurpark in de afgelopen jaren gemeten.
Experts zeggen dat zo’n aardbevingszwerm normaal is en dat er geen reden is om aan te nemen dat de supervulkaan binnenkort gaat uitbarsten.
Heel erg riskant
Toch wil de NASA het zekere voor het onzekere nemen. “De bedreiging van een supervulkaan is veel groter dan die van een asteroïde of komeet,” zei Brian Wilcox van NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Hij erkende tegenover de BBC dat het boren in de magmakamer heel erg riskant is. Het zou de kamer broos maken waardoor deze gemakkelijker zou kunnen barsten.
Daarnaast kunnen dan schadelijke gassen ontsnappen die zich in de magma bovenin de kamer bevinden.

Astrofysici van de Universiteit van Texas in Arlington denken op slechts 16 jaar lichtjaar afstand een aardachtige planeet te hebben ontdekt.
De planeet draait rond de ster Gliese 832 en moet één tot 15 keer zo zwaar zijn als de aarde, zo schrijven ze in The Astrophysical Journal.
“Dit is een belangrijke doorbraak die wijst op het bestaan van een potentiële nieuwe planeet rond een ster vlak bij de onze,” zeggen de onderzoekers in een persverklaring.
Sterke aanwijzingen
Ze hebben berekend dat de planeet een miljard jaar in de leefbare zone van een rode dwerg kan blijven bestaan.
Het is nog niet 100 procent zeker dat de planeet bestaat, maar de wetenschappers hebben wel sterke aanwijzingen gevonden.
Gliese 832 is een rode dwerg die half zo zwaar en groot als onze zon is. Rond de ster draaien een Jupiterachtige gasreus genaamd Gliese 832b en een superaarde die Gliese 832c is gedoopt.
Dampkring
Eerder dit jaar ontdekten sterrenkundigen voor het eerst een dampkring rond een aardachtige planeet.
De dampkring van de exoplaneet, GJ1132b geheten, zou aanwijzingen kunnen bevatten over leven op de planeet.
Meest interessante
Onlangs werd op amper 39 lichtjaar van onze planeet ook al een planeet gevnden waar buitenaards leven mogelijk zou kunnen zijn.
Die planeet cirkelt rond een rode dwerg in het sterrenbeeld Walvis. De exoplaneet bevindt zich in de bewoonbare zone, schreven de onderzoekers in Nature.
Ze spraken van de meest interessante exoplaneet die ze in de afgelopen 10 jaar hadden gezien. Het zou zelfs mogelijk zijn om er een signaal naartoe te sturen.

Drones are going to become one of the staples seen on the modern battlefield and one of the very latest in development is the Octocopter drone with the name of TIKAD. This is a drone that carries arms, in fact to be more precise, grenades or bombs.

The TIKAD drone is from Duke Robotics, they are a private company who are specialists in technology for the military. Last week they revealed the TIKAD, a drone with eight rotors known as an octocopter, that can not only carry, but also shoot, infantry small arms. The TIKAD octocopter is a small drone that is able to carry weaponry that can be directly fired, including grenade launchers and rifles. The company is only in the early stages of developed of the TIKAS octocopter, but it does like they are going to be a new force to be reckoned with on future battlefields.
Military drones that are smaller, including the fixed wing RQ-11 Raven of the military in the US have been used before but they are typically used for observation instead of direct combat. Guerrilla forces over in Iraq, Syria and Ukraine, along with others have been able to make use of commercial quadcopter drones for the dropping of bombs, along with spying on the positions of enemies.
TIKAD DRONE HAS COMPLICATED RIG TO HELP WITH RECOIL
However, up to now being able to fire a projectile weapon such as a gun, from a small platform that is airborne has been very difficult. Generally any infantry rifle has recoil that heavily distorts the shot taken by the rifle. The TIKAD on the other hand is able to overcome this as it has a rig that is complicated which takes the full force of the recoil of the weapon and it is able to readjust the aim so that it can fire again.
The company behind the TIKAD says that they have supplied the military in Israel with a very early version of the drone and they have been said to have used it in combat. It was also suggested that the military in Israel are also going to purchase several of the drones.
DRONE WAS DEVELOPED FOR PRECISION AGAINST TARGETS
Lt. Col. Raziel Atuar is the founder of Duke Robotics and he served for 20 years in the military in Israel and is still a reserve in the Special Forces. He said that he wanted to develop a flying weapon system that was able to address the many challenges of precision against targets in the urban battlefield, which was dense.
He said that a helicopter or bigger drone, even an artillery system, would be able to take out any forces that were hostile on top of any building; however, he said that usually there would not be any huge destructive force. He went on to say that often there are small groups of adversaries that work among areas which are crowded and generally use any civilians as shields. Then the military has to send in a team and people are generally lost, he said that it is an operational challenge that bothers them.
The promotional video of the company has been shown in the hope of attracting investors to the TIKAD drone. It shows the drone firing a weapon from the platform. While the company still has some work to do on the drone to ensure that it is a viable weapon and one that will be capable of sustained and accurate fire at range, this is something that is not shown in the video.

Research confirms that the inventor, John St. Clair, has also developed and patented a new type of propulsion system. This new system is named as "rotating electrostatic propulsion system".

A spacecraft having a triangular hull with vertical electrostatic line charges on each corner that produce a horizontal electric field parallel to the sides of the hull. This field, interacting with a plane wave emitted by antennas on the side of the hull, generates a force per volume combining both lift and propulsion.
This invention relates to a spacecraft propulsion system utilizing thrusters comprised of a motor-driven electrostatically charged cylinder rotating within an electrostatically charged annular ring for the purpose of creating a spacetime curvature stress-energy tension in the horizontal direction. The TR-3B is Code named Astra. The tactical reconnaissance TR-3B first operational flight was in the early 90s. The triangular shaped nuclear powered aerospace platform was developed under the Top Secret, Aurora Program with SDI and black budget monies. At least 3 of the billion dollar plus TR-3Bs were flying by 1994. The Aurora is the most classified aerospace development program in existence. The TR-3B is the most exotic vehicle created by the Aurora Program. It is funded and operationally tasked by the National Reconnaissance Office, the NSA, and the CIA. The TR-3B flying triangle is not fiction and was built with technology available in the mid 80s. Not every UFO spotted is one of theirs.
The TR-3B vehicles outer coating is reactive to electrical Radar stimulation and can change reflectiveness, radar absorptiveness, and color. This polymer skin, when used in conjunction with the TR-3Bs Electronic Counter Measures and, ECCM, can make the vehicle look like a small aircraft, or a flying cylinder–or even trick radar receivers into falsely detecting a variety of aircraft, no aircraft, or several aircraft at various locations. A circular, plasma filled accelerator ring called the Magnetic Field Disrupter, surrounds the rotatable crew compartment and is far ahead of any imaginable technology.

It appears UFOs could be roaming our Macarthur skies, with a Bradbury resident appealing for support after sighting three unidentified flying objects on Sunday night.
The UFO spotter, who did not wish to be named, said he saw the UFOs through his kitchen window as he was cooking dinner.

“It was a very weird, black object,” he said. “It wasn’t very high up, probably between 500 to 1000 metres.”
“The object came from a south to north direction and was four to eight metres high.
“My father thought it was eight feet wide and it hovered for close to 30 seconds.”
The resident said he has sighted 17 different UFOs in his lifetime, including 15 sightings in the Campbelltown region.
In the past, residents have reported UFO sightings in the skies over several Macarthur region suburbs including Mt Annan, Minto and Elderslie.

UFO and Paranormal Research Society of Australia president Larraine Cilia said the Campbelltown region was a regular home to UFO sightings.
“I am not surprised to hear of a UFO sighting in Bradbury,” she said.
“We get reports of sightings all the time as we are based in Campbelltown. A UFO was reported in Claymore only a couple of months ago.”
On the recent Bradbury sighting, Ms Cilia said all options would have to be ruled out to confidently declare it was a UFO.
“I hate to say it but we would have to rule out completely it was man-made,” she said.
“If you do see an aircraft or balloon in the sky, you immediately know what it is. When the brain computes it is something unusual and we don’t know what it is, it is a good chance it could be an UFO.”
Ms Cilia said it was great to hear people were still looking for UFOs, with global sightings increasing in recent years due to improved photo and video technology.
The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) has been inundated with reports from people who filmed, photographed, or claimed to see UFOs while watching the once in a life time spectacle across the US.
Thousands of people aimed video and camera equipment at the skies yesterday as the eclipse made its way across the states from the west coast to the east.
Investigators at MUFON have been sent ten ssighting reports since yesterday.
They include one snap which appears to show three disc shaped objects sparing over hills at Scottsbluff National Monument in Nebraska.
The witness report sent to MUFON said: "Took this picture facing south towards the moon while it was completely covering the sun.
There was a glut of UFO sightings during the eclipse, as expected, but many were just lens flares.
When I first saw the dot on the picture I thought maybe it was a bird because of the colour then I zoomed in on it.

The witness simply said in their report: "Grey object bottom left-hand corner of picture."
Another witness in Denver, Colorado, photographed a dark object in an eclipse picture.
They said in their report: "I was in my backyard snapping pictures of the sky during the solar eclipse. I didn't notice the object until I went back to review the pictures a few minutes after I took picture.
"When I first saw the dot on the picture I thought maybe it was a bird because of the colour then I zoomed in on it.
When I saw the up close picture at first, I was a little scared then excited at the fact that I may have caught a UFO in a picture.
"I showed all my kids and they agreed that it's a UFO."
Many of the other supposed UFO images reported to MUFON have already been dismissed as lens flares by UFO investigators.
Express.co.uk showed them to Scott Brando who runs debunking website ufoofinterest.org.
Lens flares appear on a picture when light refracts inside the lens and is then projected onto the image.
This is the reason why nothing is seen at the time the photographer snaps the picture.
They are common when a camera is aimed at bright lights such as the sun or street lights at night.
Yesterday, former Ministry of Defence UFO investigator Nick Pope told Express.co.uk he expected a glut of UFO sightings during the eclipse.
He told us: "Past experience suggests there will be an upsurge in UFO sightings during the total eclipse.
“I suspect many of these will turn out to be news helicopters filming the crowds, or drones flown by amateur photographers, and maybe the sightings occur simply because more people are looking at the sky.
“But don't be surprised if Monday's eclipse results in hundreds of UFO sightings all across America.”

A video showing a UFO crossing across the camera during a shot of Fox News to the U.S. capital building was submitted to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), a UFO investigation organisation.
According to the report from the witness, something strange flew in front of the capital building while he was watching Fox News. The report includes a video and a screenshot from it.
The witness claims that the sighting happened in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, which may be the city where the witness resides.
The video shows shiny, cylindrical object. It moves quickly from the bottom left to the upper right of the screen. The object in the video might not be the actual shape and size. It was presumably close to the camera, making it very huge. The form of the object could also look more elongated than its actual shape since it was moving at tremendous speed.
In cases such as this one, many would suggest that birds and bugs are the culprits. An object could appear elongated and large because of motion blur. Wings flapping could also make the object look like it has ridges or multiple appendages. However, the effect is not visible in this particular video.

An alien civilisation is increasing. In fact, he believes that he has the video evidence to support his case.
John Wichelow, the witness, cannot believe that he has captured anything like that. He thought he was just spotting the Thunderbirds designed for the air show at the Fairchild AFB. As soon as he watched the video backwards, he noticed two kinds of strange objects found in the frame. According to him, the object was moving very fast. While some people compare it to the meteors, bugs or birds that are very close to the camera, he still believes that it does not bear any resemblance to those objects enumerated.
The footage shows a clear and white object that is dart from the frame before the passing of Thunderbirds. At 36 seconds later, you will see a small black object following behind the Thunderbird. Of course, we can only describe aliens and explain their technologies regarding our limited skills and knowledge. The reality of UFO phenomenon may be far beyond anything that is imaginable.
