ASTRONOMERS SEARCH FOR ALIEN MEGASTRUCTURES IN SATELLITE DATA
ASTRONOMERS SEARCH FOR ALIEN MEGASTRUCTURES IN SATELLITE DATA
The European Space Agency’s Gaia satellite has been helping map the billions of stars in the Milky Way, and a group of astronomers is using the spacecraft’s stunning new star catalog to search for signs of highly advanced alien civilizations.
A team of scientists from Sweden’s Uppsala University and the University of Heidelberg in Germany combed Gaia’s first data release of a billion stars from September 2016. They then cross-referenced it with observations from the Australia-based Milky Way-watching RAVE project looking for differences in how far away the two observatories place certain stars.
Simply put, the Gaia data shows how far away a star is by watching it move across a background of far more distant stars, an effect called parallax. RAVE data, on the other hand, estimates the distance of a star based on the properties of its brightness. So the scientists looked for stars observed by both Gaia and RAVE where the data seemed to disagree on the distance of a star.
The idea is that the disparity in distance measurements by the different instruments could be explained by the presence of a partial Dyson sphere, a structure that envelopes or partially envelopes a star to harvest its energy.
Science fiction has long envisioned huge alien megastructures like planet-size artificial spheres or rings or swarms of energy-collecting spacecraft. They’ve also been floated as a possible explanation for the strange dimming and re-brightening behavior of the now famous Boyajian’s Star, also known as Tabby’s Star or KIC 8462852.
Cross-referencing the data sets revealed a handful of stars in Gaia data that may possibly be circled by such alien megastructures. However, upon closer examination, the team determined that errors in the data could account for differing measurements in the case of all but one star named TYC 6111-1162-1.
The researchers used a third observatory to take a closer look at the star. They didn’t find evidence of alien megastructures, but instead of an unseen companion star, which could also account for the discrepancies in measurements.
While they haven’t discovered advanced aliens just yet, the team maintains that their method of searching for possible Dyson spheres is still sound. They say the search will become even easier with future releases of Gaia data, which will provide both types of distance measurements for many stars.
Meanwhile, the second Gaia Data Release dropped on Wednesday, with a fresh batch of 1.7 billion stars to check for ambitious alien construction projects. If anyone finds anything, please notify Elon Musk. He’s always looking for fresh inspiration.

The XS-1 is a space plane under development by the U.S. military's high-tech agency, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The major goal of the project is to reuse the spacecraft frequently, with a proposed launch rate of 10 one-day missions in just 10 days. In May 2017, DARPA selected Boeing as the provider for phases 2 and 3. Test fights are scheduled for 2020.
The XS-1 (Experimental Spaceplane 1) is envisioned to heft payloads for less than $5 million a flight, each weighing between 3,000 and 5,000 lbs. (1,360 to 2,267 kilograms). The aircraft-like craft is also supposed to fly faster than Mach 10, or 10 times the speed of sound.
"Technologies derived from the XS-1 program will enable routine space launch capabilities with aircraft-like cost, operability and reliability," read a DARPA announcement from November 2013 cited in a 2014 Space.com article.
"The long-term intent is for XS-1 technologies to be transitioned to support not only next-generation launch for government and commercial customers, but also global reach hypersonic and space access aircraft."
Decades of concepts
So far, there has been no fully reusable space vehicle due to technical complication. The NASA space shuttle, a partially reusable system, flew 135 times between 1981 and 2011. Parts of the space shuttle had to be re-manufactured for every flight, such as the external tanks and a certain number of tiles for the re-entry protection system (which would get damaged or fall off during landing.)
Other early attempts for reusable space launch vehicles include the X-30 (1980s) and X-33 VentureStar (1990s), which never flew. DARPA also attempted a program called Responsive Access, Small Cargo, Affordable Launch (RASCAL) in the early 2000s. For the XS-1, DARPA originally announced the program in 2013 and it is now in Phase 2/3. In 2014, DARPA said reusability would be of help for rapid launches at a low cost.
"In an era of declining budgets and adversaries' evolving capabilities, quick, affordable and routine access to space is increasingly critical for both national and economic security," DARPA said in a 2014 press release.
DARPA pointed out that satellite launches on rockets must be scheduled years in advance and cost a lot of money. "DARPA created its Experimental Spaceplane (XS-1) program to help overcome these challenges and create a new paradigm for more routine, responsive and affordable space operations," the agency added.
In 2014, three teams were selected to compete for the flight contract:
Northrop Grumman leading the team, with Scaled Composites doing manufacture-assembly and Virgin Galactic doing operations
Masten Space Systems (lead) and XCOM Aerospace
Boeing (lead) and Blue Origin
Tasks for Phase 1 included developing the vehicle, finding and reducing the risk of creating the "core" technologies and processes, and figuring out how to move forward into the flight phase, DARPA said.
"DARPA expects the performers to explore alternative technical approaches from the perspectives of feasibility, performance, system design and development cost and operational cost. They must also assess potential suitability for near-term transition opportunities to military, civil and commercial users," the agency wrote.
The program entered Phase 2 in 2016. In 2017, DARPA selected Boeing to build and test the XS-1. "The XS-1 would be neither a traditional airplane nor a conventional launch vehicle but rather a combination of the two, with the goal of lowering launch costs by a factor of ten and replacing today's frustratingly long wait time with launch on demand," said Jess Sponable, DARPA program manager, in a May 2017 press release. "We're very pleased with Boeing's progress on the XS-1 through Phase 1 of the program and look forward to continuing our close collaboration in this newly funded progression to Phases 2 and 3 — fabrication and flight."
Further development
The ultimate goal of the development program is a flight test, when Boeing and DARPA will attempt to do 10 launches in 10 days. This will happen in Phase 3. First, there will be several shakedown flights, and then the XS-1 will do multiple space launches with speeds ranging from Mach 5 to Mach 10. The XS-1 will also send a demonstration payload that has a mass of between 900 and 3,000 lbs. (roughly between 410 and 1,360 kg).
"If successful, the program could help enable a commercial service in the future that could operate with recurring costs of as little as $5 million or less per launch, including the cost of an expendable upper stage, assuming a recurring flight rate of at least ten flights per year — a small fraction of the cost of launch systems the U.S. military currently uses for similarly sized payloads," DARPA said in its May 2017 press release. (The $5 million cost is the actual cost and not the commercial price, DARPA said.)
"Another goal of the program is to encourage the broader commercial launch sector to adopt useful XS-1 approaches, processes, and technologies that facilitate launch on demand and rapid turnaround — important military and commercial needs for the 21st century. Toward that goal, DARPA intends to release selected data from its Phase 2/3 tests and will provide to all interested commercial entities the relevant specs for potential payloads," DARPA added.
Rapid turnarounds will require using some technology that is already in place on military aircraft, DARPA stated, such as "easily accessible subsystem components" that engineers can take out quickly for maintenance and repairs. The XS-1 will also use some known systems, such as the Aerojet Rocketdyne AR-22 engine that is a version of the space shuttle's main engine.
XS-1 will also have a share of innovative technologies. These include extremely lightweight propellant tanks to hold liquid oxygen and liquid oxygen, hybrid composite-metallic wings and surfaces that are capable of surviving multiple re-entries, and some autonomous flight capabilities.
The Mayan Tzolkin calendar has often been at the forefront of conspiracy theories and doomsday predictions but Timothy Alan has now claimed it also contains the secrets of time travel.
Mr Alan’s uploaded part of his research to YouTube, where he explained his startling discoveries made over five years of painstaking work.
He said: “I just wanted to share with you my work over the last five years in as quick a time as possible.
“I found this hidden code in the Mayan calendar that unlocks what you can see here – a vortex-quantumatics like a quantum agreement for a spiritual technology. It’s a multidimensional language.
“I found it hidden in the Mayan calendar.”

CALENDAR: The world was predicted to end in 2012 according to doom mongers
“I found it hidden in the Mayan calendar”
Timothy Alan
The secrets codes of the calendar have allowed to him to chart and produce a “divine” time travel map, he said.
According to Mr Alan, his findings have been verified by a Guatemalan Mayan elder as a “legitimate code found within the Mayan calendar”.
Mr Alan added: “The Mayan calendar was invented to map the evolution of human consciousness.
“It is the key into understanding the truth of being human – if there is some left.”

CODE: Timothy Alan has claimed to have found the secrets of time travel
According to his research, there are two types of portals present – personal vision portals and passage of time portals, reports the Express.co.uk.
He said the fruits of his works need to get there to untether humanity from the constraints of money and corporate greed.
The reasoning for this being that widespread access to what he described as free spiritual technology will stop our dependancy on money.
He added: “All this calendar stuff keeps on coming. It’s like the Da Vinci code – some sort of cosmic Da Vinci code that opened.”
Scores of conspiracy theories claims ancient calendars, such as the Mayan one, contain the secrets of the cosmos.
The Mayan calendar shot to prominence in 2012 when doom mongers tried to convince the world the Mayans predicted the world would end that year.
But the theories have been debunked by others.
Scientist Erik Klemetti said: “The Maya apocalypse is just another in a long line of wild apocalyptical theories that have likely be occurring since, well, the dawn of man.
“There have been so many false ‘end times’ predictions that, as Riley Finn put it: ‘It turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of apocalypse.’”
Scientists Peer Across the Universe and Find an Ancient Galactic Collision
Scientists Peer Across the Universe and Find an Ancient Galactic Collision
By Doris Elin Salazar, Space.com Contributor
Astronomers set their sights on an area incredibly far away — more than 90 percent of the way across the observable universe — and found the beginnings of a massive cosmic collision, according to two new studies.
The crash they witnessed is an early formation stage for the largest type of structure in the known universe, and the recent findings suggest that the process took significantly less time than computer models have suggested. In addition, the abundance of dusty star-forming areas in this collision raises questions about how galaxies evolve.
Both research studies focused on a galactic collision that scientists believe has already happened. Fourteen galaxies, collectively known as SPT2349-56, are bursting with newly created stars, according to a recent statement by the European Southern Observatory (ESO). The reason ESO defines it as an impending crash is because, from Earth, we cannot yet see what's presently happening at the merger site. That's because light takes a very long time to travel to us from that region in space. [Galactic 'Mega City' Shows Mysterious Spots of Star Formation (Images)]
According to Iván Oteo, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh and lead author of one of the studies, his team's work reveals unexpected findings about the star-bursting regions. "The lifetime of dusty starbursts is thought to be relatively short, because they consume their gas at an extraordinary rate," he said in the statement. "At any time, in any corner of the Universe, these galaxies are usually in the minority. So, finding numerous dusty starbursts shining at the same time like this is very puzzling, and something that we still need to understand."
Scott Chapman, an astrophysicist at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who worked on the second study, also commented on his team's finding that the formation stage took less time than expected. "Having caught a massive galaxy cluster in [the] throes of formation is spectacular in and of itself," he said. "But the fact that this is happening so early in the history of the universe poses a formidable challenge to our present-day understanding of the way structures form in the universe."
The international teams of scientists used ESO's Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) telescopes to peer back in time to when the universe was one-tenth of its present age. SPT2349-56 is located about 12.4 billion light-years away, and this means the light from this structure started traveling toward Earth when the universe was about 1.4 billion years old. (The universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old.)
SPT2349-56 is a so-called protocluster, thought to be the building-block stage for the largest known structure to exist, a galaxy cluster.
The individual galaxies in galaxy clusters are held together by dark matter, according to the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. During the universe's first few million years, dark matter (and normal matter) began to collect into larger concentrations, eventually creating galaxy clusters. Some clusters are thought to contain up to thousands of galaxies.
To study the formation stage the protocluster was exhibiting, researchers ran observational data from the ALMA telescope through computer simulations. The two teams found that what they were witnessing occurred less than 1.4 billion years after the Big Bang. However, existing theoretical and computer models suggest that a protocluster as large as SPT2349-56 should have taken much longer to evolve.
"How this assembly of galaxies got so big, so fast is a mystery," Tim Miller, a doctoral candidate at Yale University and lead author of one of the papers, said in the statement. "It wasn't built up gradually over billions of years, as astronomers might expect. This discovery provides a great opportunity to study how massive galaxies came together to build enormous galaxy clusters."

Is this proof aliens are watching us? UFO crosses paths with Epsilon 3 rocket launch travelling at 25,000mph
Conspiracy theorists believe a UFO overshadowed the launch of the Japanese rocket
By Mirror.Co.Uk
A £255million satellite that will monitor the Earth's atmosphere has successfully launched into space.
But conspiracy theorists believe something overshadowed the 'perfect' launch on Kyushu Island in Japan.
They claim an unknown 'mysterious craft' passed closely by the rocket as it travelled at 25,000mph - and some think it could be aliens monitoring our technological advances.
Thousands of people gathered to watch Japanese Space agency Jaxa launch its Epsilon 3 rocket at 6.06am on January 18.
Video shows that shortly after the craft engaged its secondary boosters a UFO , allegedly flying at the same altitude as the rocket, appeared.
The object was made up of three white lights and a red blinking beacon that appear to swoop close to the rocket.
Many viewers have pointed out that the lights look like they belong to a plane.
But conspiracy theorists insist a no-fly zone was in place during the launch.
UFO Today posted footage of the launch on its YouTube page.
The caption read: "Many will say this is an airplane, but the area had a no fly zone at the time of the rocket launch.
"The launch went perfectly, but during the launch a strange mysterious craft was filmed. This UFO was flying at the same altitude as the rocket.
"It was moving along with the rocket as it started it's orbit around earth. What was this object?"
But not everyone was convinced the lights were extra-terrestrial in origin.
One viewer wrote: "It's got an FAA light blinking...so....it's human made."
Anther added: "That's an airplane, there's a blinking light on it and UFOs don't normally have blinking lights."
The third Epsilon rocket was carryin the ASNARO-2 radar-imaging satellite into orbit.
Almost 45 minutes after lift-off the 570-Kilogram radar satellite separated from the rocket.
The satellite, developed by the Institute for Unmanned Space Experiment Free Flyer, will take images of the Earth to monitor the atmosphere.
John Mack’s research into alien abductions has thrust him far out of the academic mainstream, yet the Harvard psychiatrist and his Program for Extraordinary Experience Research soldier on, constructing a “science of the sacred.”
“Virgin area — exciting,” John Mack wrote in a 1964 note to himself. He was referring to an opportunity to develop new ways of delivering mental-health services at a Massachusetts hospital. But that spirit of enthusiasm and risk-taking is a neat summation of the Harvard psychiatrist’s long and controversial career as a scientist and activist.
Mack has never shied from exploring frontiers. While most of his colleagues toiled away quietly in Harvard’s ivory tower, Mack protested nuclear tests in Nevada, flew to war-torn Lebanon to try his hand at Middle East diplomacy and drank toasts with Soviet colleagues in cold war Moscow. And most famously, he listened to people who told him tales of alien visitations and abductions-and believed them.
His behavior, unusual for an Ivy League academic, has made the lanky 71-year-old a figure of fun for the mainstream, a well-meaning modern-day Don Quixote to those with progressive leanings and a knight on a white horse to those who believe aliens are among us. Yet even those friends and colleagues dismissive of Mack’s abduction theories acknowledge his deep-seated commitment to tackling problems at all levels — personal, social and spiritual. “His really important insight is that people can change, that they can crack open,” says one academic friend.
Another friend says that at Mack’s core is a passion to understand and ease human suffering. Ironically, Mack’s unusual journey into the alien realm has reaped him his own share of suffering, from damage to his professional credibility to loss of old friends and the breakup of a long marriage.
Mack himself seems at a loss to explain why he is who he is, given a background lacking in either social activism or spiritual matters. A self-described introspective child, he was born into a family of prosperous German Jewish academics in New York. His father read the Bible, but only as literature in that atheistic household.
But suffering was not an abstract concept in his early life. Mack’s biological mother died of a ruptured appendix when he was only eight months old. His mother’s sister later married a Holocaust survivor, a man who became an expert in group process and psychotherapy. Another uncle was mentally ill and eventually lobotomized. “That was a big factor in my choosing to go into psychiatry,” he says. The dark-brick insane asylums that he and his family passed during trips to the country haunted him. By age 12, he was hunting out psychology books in his school library.
After finishing medical school and marrying Sally Stahl in 1959, they left for Mack’s two-year stint in Japan as an Air Force psychiatrist, where the first of their three sons was born. The culture shock was intense. Life there, he recalled later, taught him how “fantastically ethnocentric and ecologically destructive we Americans can be.” The family returned to the United States, and Mack plunged into Harvard psychiatry in the 1960s, when ideas about mental health were being overhauled. He played a key role in creating a novel psychiatric clinic for both in- and outpatients at a derelict Cambridge city hospital that Harvard University had taken over.
But ever the intellectual peripatetic, Mack’s fascination with T. E. Lawrence led him to write an in-depth biography of the enigmatic man who played a key role in Middle East politics, and in 1977 the effort earned him the Pulitzer Prize. Lawrence lived out a creative vision of changing the world that intrigued — one of his friends says obsessed — Mack.
By the early ’80s, when he had entered what for most tenured professors would be comfortable middle age, Mack, at the urging of his children, was drawn into two more virgin territories — the realm of spiritual questing and the world of political activism. He experimented with holotropic breathwork, est and psychedelic drugs. And he was drawn into Middle East politics, meeting solo with Yassir Arafat in Beirut to discuss prospects for peace. Next he threw himself into the growing antinuclear effort during the Reagan years, exploring the psychosocial aspects of the nuclear-war threat and testifying before Congress on such issues as children’s nightmares of an atomic holocaust. Eventually he turned to a more active role; his entire family was arrested in 1986 at the government’s Nevada Test Site for protesting underground nuclear detonations.
His breathwork in particular set the stage for his interest in aliens. “I was open to the possibility that there was a world beyond that which could be seen,” he recalls. Mack began seeing patients who described a variety of alien encounters, and then he created the Program for Extraordinary Experience Research (PEER) within Harvard’s Center for Psychology & Social Change. (Currently neither the center nor PEER is affiliated with Harvard.) His 1994 book on the subject (Abduction), which focuses on interviews that detail the experiences of a handful of the 70 people who said they were abducted, provoked ridicule and outrage in the mainstream media and a Harvard investigation into his scientific methods. Undaunted, Mack has soldiered on, gathering more data and interviewing people from all over the world, publishing Passport to the Cosmos: Human Transformation and Alien Encounters in 1999, which focused on alien-related myths and experiences in native cultures, from the Amazon to southern Africa.
In person, Mack has the cautious traits of a scholar, the wariness of a maligned media figure and the innocent enthusiasm of a young college student discovering himself. During a lengthy interview at PEER headquarters — a nondescript Cambridge walkup that resembles a postdoc’s apartment — Mack talked with New Age about his latest frontier. What follows is a much-shortened and edited transcript.
Q. What was your first encounter with the alien phenomenon?
A. I read an article that treated the phenomenon as a spiritual emergency, and a colleague in my breathwork training program took me to see Budd Hopkins [author of several alien-related books] in January 1990. At first I didn’t believe it was possible to encounter beings from beyond the Earth, but it became apparent that I didn’t have any other way to explain what was happening: If different people who are not connected have the same detailed experience, then you are not dealing with an internally generated effect. So I got curious.
Q. How do you test the reliability of these claims?
A. I do a careful psychological evaluation of their mental states, take their psychological history — the standard clinical exam and, in some early cases, batteries of psychological testing. I will get character witnesses to assess whether they embellish the truth. And there is something more, which I’m still struggling with. It is feeling that a person is speaking as if they’ve been there — this comes from body language, the look in their eye, from having no other agenda. I’m working to better define this.
Q. So do you see what you are doing as science?
A. I have to be open to the fact that there are realms or dimensions of reality that I don’t know about. Knowing is not the same when you can’t create a controlled experiment, but there still can be reliable ways of knowing. I can’t create an experiment that brings a bunch of UFOs together. But I do believe there is a quality of openness of mind and rigor we can apply. We can develop standards of authenticity, reliability, multiplicity of witnesses. This might be considered a science of the sacred or of human experience.
Q. What kinds of standards do you envision for such a science?
A. We have an anomalous-experiences project at PEER, which came out of a 1999 workshop on the topic that included theologists, anthropologists, astrophysicists and philosophers. We are looking not just at the abduction phenomenon, but near-death experiences and other such phenomena that don’t fall into a single discipline. And we want to explore traditions where there are, if not standards, witnessing and truth-telling traditions — that is, methods of how you decide who to take seriously. The Buddhist and Catholic traditions deal with this in detail, for example in determining what is a miracle and what is not. Father Corrado Balducci, a retired gentleman close to the Vatican, once shocked me by saying that the Church takes very seriously these reports of UFOs and abduction encounters because there seem to be so many reliable witnesses. The Church has a tradition of determining who is a reliable witness. I began to think about this notion of the sacred witness, or the witness of the sacred. We don’t want to take on, for example, Catholic or Buddhist standards wholesale, but they can be guides.
Q. So these standards could be applied to all sorts of anomalous experiences?
A. The new age world is filled with people working on everything from alien experiences to channeling, but there are no real criteria to tell you what to take seriously. There’s been appropriate criticism of a lot of new age work. Just because someone says he or she channels something doesn’t make it truthful. The scientific method has ways of deciding on the reliability of physical evidence. But if there is no physical evidence — no physical marks on the body, for example — there has to be a way to take data and determine its validity.
Q. Are you trying too hard to drag science into an area that is the domain of religion?
A. Barbara McClintock, a Nobel Prize winner in genetics, described her way of knowing as highly subjective. She would fall in love with ears of corn; she fused with what she was working with. Of course, after you’ve learned in that interconnected subjective way, then you use your rational mind to add it up and make sense of it. But your instrument of knowing is your whole self, your intuitive self, your full consciousness. What really good scientists and those who take us “beyond the veil” have in common is full engagement with that other self, with the matter at hand.
Q. You say breathwork opened you up to other worldviews. How did this unfold?
A. I realized I was not stuck in my academic, psychoanalytic tower — I expanded out of my shell. I had this sense of connection with all these people that was unexplainable to me. This sense that each of us were in some way open and loving people — and the same, that we were one in a way, and under natural conditions that we can connect in a way that is quite different from the usual competitive isolation in which we live.
Q. How does this relate to aliens?
A. We are spiritual beings connected with other life forms and the cosmos in a profound way, and the cosmos itself contains a numinous intelligence. It’s not just dead matter and energy.
Q. Are your ideas about abduction more accepted now by the mainstream than in 1994?
A. No, on the contrary. There are those who fear what they see as a danger of the return of the irrational. But on the fringes there is also a growing excitement and interest in understanding reality not known by the traditional scientific method. So there is a kind of heating up, not of a paradigm war, but a not-very-friendly discourse between contending worldviews.
Q. Alien “experiencers” are considered crazy by the mainstream. Do you see them as an oppressed minority?
A. The ridicule of these individuals and the dismissal of their stories has profound moral implications. A society cannot long survive if its truth tellers are rejected. I believe these witnesses are truthful, regardless of the fact that what they are talking about can’t be true from the dominant materialist worldview. And their dismissal does make them a kind of suppressed minority. I began to see that the outright dismissal of the testimony of reliable witnesses was because what they reported wasn’t consistent with the dominant worldview.
Q. How do you react to the weird varieties of aliens abductees describe?
A. The whole business of the demographics of alien beings is quite humorous in a way — blond ones, reptilian ones, insectlike ones, praying mantis-like ones and of course the grays. The whole thing in a way is comical. And then you get into what star system are they from. It’s almost like a cosmic joke. . . . When a culture become sterile and complacent and locked into a limited worldview, the trickster shows up and shakes up the whole system.
Q. So do you personally believe in this phenomenon?
A. It’s a no-brainer. It can’t be accounted for in purely interpsychic ways. Many people are having these experiences around the world, spontaneously. It has to come from somewhere, what William James called a “provocation from without.” I see it in the context of the global ecological crisis. The Earth is a source of creation and life, and out of ignorance, greed and aggression, we are destroying it. I see an awakening of consciousness about this, a spiritual reconnection with the sacred, with the divine.
Q. Has the personal and professional toll taken by delving into abductions been too high?
A. I don’t have regrets. Although there have been critics and attacks, I’ve met so many incredible people who are open to new knowledge. I’ve probably gained more colleagues and friends since I began this than I had in the period before — they are just different. I don’t resonate in the same way with a number of other people. Life is short, and one tends to gravitate to people one is in tune with. It’s been more of an expansion of my horizons and an opening to exciting connections and possibilities than it has been a suffering. What’s enabled me to feel on the whole pretty good is that people are starting to research other anomalies of other kinds. And there have been a lot of pioneers before me.
Q. Do you want to have an abduction experience?
A. I don’t think so. One reason is it is often scary, but I think I could handle that. Second, my reliability and role as a witness of the witnesses depends on my being clean on that score. I’ve seen examples in which investigators who had experiences or acknowledged their experiences really lost credibility as investigators. I feel myself to have a different role. I don’t even let myself think of that too much.

Universe Is Too Big For Extraterrestrial Life To Get Here… Wrong!
Universe Is Too Big For Extraterrestrial Life To Get Here… Wrong!
In our daily mundane lives, we are oblivious to much of the Universes grand weirdnesses. Our neurology has evolved to react to and manipulate its environment. To survive. Our minds and our intellect are forever separate and silent witness to the Universe. Many of science’s grandest and profound discoveries go against all those billions of years of evolutionary programming. On the surface, they do not make colloquial sense. Our sense which is a product of a long line of evolutionary winners, the ones that managed to survive to breeding age. Each and every one of us is the product of a very long unbroken line of winners.
The Universe has no obligation to make sense. The advanced science of the last century began to shed light on some of the more intriguing and profoundly bizarre physical characteristics of the Cosmos. It is one of these counter-intuitive bizarre physical characteristics that can if not destroy the old argument that the “Universe is too big for extraterrestrials to get here” it will put a huge kink in it.
We all have heard about light speed. It is an old staple in TV and Movies. The true implications of Special Relativity on what happens at light speed are not usually discussed with any actual substance on TV shows or documentaries. For some people, my explanation and supposition will be a new interpretation.
We must consider several aspects of Albert Einstein’s magnum opus “Special Relativity”.
Note: The following is an import part to understand to follow my suppositions later on.
One of the bizarre characteristics is what is called “Time Dilation”. A good example that some people have heard of is called the “Twin Paradox”. Embracing the twin paradox is an important first step as you dip your toe into the nonintuitive world of special relativity. If you dig a little deeper into the links given here (and show a little determination), hopefully, you’ll begin to be more comfortable that Einstein really was right.
One must be very careful. The “relativity” in the theory’s name comes from the absolute core premise of Einstein’s idea, which is that nothing is absolute. If you are standing on a train platform and a train whizzes by, you would say that a person on the train is moving. On the other hand, a person sitting on the train would say that he is stationary and that you are moving. Relativity says that both of you are right. Who is moving and who is stationary is just a matter of perspective, and the laws of physics must work equally well for both people.
But this raises a conundrum when applied to the question of moving clocks. How can moving clocks tick more slowly than stationary ones if the question of who is moving is a matter of opinion? If I can say you are moving and your clock is slow, and if you can say I am moving and my clock is slow, something is inconsistent.
This longstanding question about special relativity is called the twin paradox. Suppose one in a set of twins sets off in a spaceship, travels to a distant star and then returns. On both legs of the trip, he accelerates to high velocity and then coasts for most of the journey. According to the “moving clocks tick slower” premise, the twin who stays on Earth will have experienced one duration, while the traveling twin will have experienced another, slower duration. The spacefaring twin will return to Earth younger than his homebody brother.
“But wait,” says the traveling twin, “according to my definition, I was just sitting there on my stationary spaceship while the Earth zoomed away from me and then zoomed back. By all rights, Earth twin should be younger!”
The solution to this seeming paradox has to do with the idea of a reference frame, which is central to special relativity. “Reference frame” is just a fancy term that means “the world according to me,” putting each person at the center of his or her universe. All “inertial” observers — those who don’t experience any acceleration — will agree that the homebody never changed his reference frame. He just sat there. Similarly, all observers will agree that the traveler lived in two reference frames, one moving away from Earth and one returning. Any third observer coasting through space will see that the homebody’s velocity doesn’t change while the traveler’s velocity does.
The law of relativity takes the traveler’s two reference frames into account. Thus the so-called paradox isn’t really a paradox. While the question of who is moving is a matter of opinion, the question of who has experienced two reference frames is not.
This is not just unfounded claims, it has been proven way back in 1971. In 1971, American physicists Joseph Hafele and Richard Keating verified time dilation at low relative velocities by flying extremely accurate atomic clocks around the Earth on commercial aircraft. They measured elapsed time to an accuracy of a few nanoseconds and compared it with the time measured by clocks left behind. Hafele and Keating’s results were within experimental uncertainties of the predictions of relativity.
If in the “Twins Paradox” one twin zooms off in a rocket at 90% of the speed of light. Time on the spaceship would be running 44% as fast as his twins on Earth. If the spaceship kicked it into overdrive and traveled at 99.9% of light, the brother’s clock on the spaceship would be running at 4.5% as fast as the Earthbound one now. What this means is if the twin (from his reference frame) went on a trip for 5 years at 99.9% speed of light, he would age 5 years. But his brother would have aged 110 years on Earth. This is a fact.
That is interesting but not my point. Using the laws that we know to be true. It is what happens when 100% light speed is achieved. Only one thing that I am aware of travels at light speed and that is a photon. If time slows down as we approach the speed of light the equations tell us that at the speed of light time stops. That means that if you were a photon time does not pass for it at all. That has some freaky consequences and is the crux of my assertion.
The instant that a photon is emitted anywhere in the Universe, typically they come out of atoms or get sent out by a star. The instant it gets emitted it gets absorbed at its destination. If you are the photon. For the rest of us, we observe it trundle through the Universe at light speed. But, for the photon time does not elapse. Hundreds of millions or billions of years of our time are zero time for the photon. From its unique point of view, the Universe goes by in an instant. From the point of view of the photon distance as we know it does not matter. It can traverse a googolplex squared in zero time. It can be everywhere, from its reference frame. For the rest of us, we bask in the time it takes to get to its destination. If time is the fire in which we burn, we burn incredibly slow. With this built-in infinite transit ability in our Universe, is it so unfathomable that someone somewhere in the vast regions of darkness has figured out how to utilize it and become truly pan-universal? The power of infinity is a strong pull.
Think about that for awhile…
Now hypothesize about a highly advanced alien civilization that has solved the light speed barrier and can traverse space at the speed of light. They have mastered an ocean of unimaginable technology. Not the least of which is Mass cancellation.
What they would have to have figured out is how to cancel Mass. We do not have any clue at all at this time in our scientific pursuits how to do that. But who knows if an intelligence that is a million or a billion of years advanced has not figured this stumbling block out. If they can make their ships or crafts massless they could be everywhere and I mean everywhere at will at any time. Shades of Douglas Adams “Infinite Improbability Drive”. It is only us primitives that think distance is an issue, a showstopper for alien visitations. But that is not the case.
This alien race could act like the photon. Instantaneous Universal transport. Zero time for them to cross from one side of the Universe to the other. As soon as they turn on the light drive they are already at their destination. This, of course, would require some amazingly high and unfathomable abilities in which we have no human analog. The reason that mass is an important factor in this hypothesis is that it is integral to the properties of light speed. Nothing with mass can travel at the speed of light.
No need for such human contrived nonsense such as warp drive. No need for such things if they could cancel the physical property of Mass (there are other issues as well to consider which are beyond this article). As soon as the turn on the light drive they are already at their destination no matter where it is in the Universe. This, of course, would require some amazingly high and unfathomable abilities in which we have not discovered so far.
The aliens that were left at home would age as we do but their emissaries on the craft are timeless. For a civilization such as this, I would hypothesize that they bring their entire culture with them on civilization ships. Otherwise, the forces of relativity would disjoint the two factions of the civilization severely. Makes sense to bring them all with you to keep the temporal differential to an absolute minimum.
It must be noted that us primitive humans have already begun the quest towards Mass cancellation. It is startling to ponder that we newcomers to the pantheon of galactic intelligence’s have already had an inkling, a beginning success, a baby step, a beachhead in our sciences. Our cutting-edge scientific frontiers have identified and have been able to quantitatively gather information on what is referred to as the “Higgs Boson”. This tiny elusive subatomic particle is believed to a high degree of certainty to be the harbinger of all Mass in the Universe. It and its corresponding “Higgs Field” is the reason and method the Universe uses to create the phenomena of Mass. We can see it using billions of dollars of technology in infinitesimally small slices of time. We are nowhere anywhere near being hands-on with it at all. But if we hairy primates even can fathom it, it must not be that difficult in the grand scheme of things.
I get tired of the same old rhetoric that spouts such unfounded certainty in UFOlogy. We must open our minds to unconventional thoughts. No one knows what is possible in the Universe. Our knowledge is woefully incomplete. I do not know of course if any of this supposition is true or not. We must have this type of intelligent dialogue or UFOlogy will fall stagnant and be taken over by the UFO lunatic fringe. I wish that part of the human condition that is in each and every one of us contained the drive towards logical truths. It has manifested in many, many of us but not nearly enough. The real and verifiable Universe is more fascinating, wondrous, and awe-inspiring than we can handle. No need to play make believe with UFOlogy.
“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science. Whoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel is as good as dead, and his eyes are dimmed.”

HYBRID HUMANS: Author Daniella Fenton claims ancient ETs engineered human race
Ancient astronauts travelled through a "wormhole" in the Pleiades star cluster but couldn't survive on Earth, it's claimed.
Extraterrestrials decided instead to "alter the genetic make up" of early human ancestors so they became more intelligent.
The proof is in the fusion of Chromosome-2 around 780,000 years ago based on the book Hybrid Humans written by Daniella Fenton.
Chromosone-2 is found in all large-brained humans, including Neanderthals and Denisovans, but no other primate species.
"The three species went on to become advanced humans with art, culture and increasingly complex technologies," said Mrs Fenton.
"The fusions site in on an active gene which expresses itself in brain structure, immunity and reproductive functions - important systems for upgrading to a new human species.
"Instead of a small number of humans having the fusion and a large group not having it, instead there was a rapid total replacement with all humans on Earth having 46 rather than 48 chromosomes, this tells us it gave enormous benefits to become so dominant.
"Approximately 800,000 years ago human brain size went into a sudden rapid increase in size and complexity which has long been a mystery to archaeologists."
DANIELLA FENTON
THEORY: Author Daniella Fenton said the DNA of humans changed dramatically due to alien science
She went on: "This was not the only change at this time and two very extraordinary changes are the sudden appearance of miR-941, which played a crucial role in human brain development.
"The gene is highly active in controlling decision-making and enabling language abilities and appeared suddenly formed out of junk DNA."
What Mrs Fenton claims are the "signature of aliens" is dramatic changes to a neocortex gene called ARHGAP11B – associated with sight and hearing in mammals.
The official explanation for Chromosome-2, the second largest in humans, does not involve aliens.
Researcher JW IJdo concluded Chromosome-2 "marks the point at which two ancestral ape chromosomes fused to give rise to human Chromosome-2."

HYBRID HUMANS: The book claims aliens engineered mankind 780,000 years ago
“Approximately 800,000 years ago human brain size went into a sudden rapid increase in size and complexity which has long been a mystery to archaeologists.”
Daniella Fenton
The Australian author, who studied equine genetic and is a spirtualist and certified shaman, claims to have physical evidence to support the ancient alien theory.
Her husband Bruce is also a writer who worked on the research.
They researched a book called Alcheringa which promotes the theory an alien spaceship exploded in our atmosphere hundreds of thousands of years ago and the survivors, who couldn't survive without the mother ship, engineered Homo sapiens.
Mrs Fenton claims the melted wreckage of the crashed craft explains the mysterious Australites tektite buttons, unexplained dark glass objects thought to be ejected in meteorite impacts.
She claimed that geologists have dated the remains of a 1km sized melted object to around 780,000 years ago.
She added: "According to a NASA study the resulting liquid glass (containing around 80% silica from melted quartz crystal) formed spheres in space which then instantly froze and began to fall into our atmosphere.
"As they entered they heated and melted to form unique button shapes before landing right across Australasia.
"These Australite tektite buttons are unique in the 4.5 billion year history of our planet and remain a total mystery to science because they can’t understand how they formed."
The Hybrid Human theory also believes the alien astronauts arrived from the Pleiades star cluster, thought to contain several thousand stars.
It is among the nearest star cluster to Earth and the one which is most visible to the naked eye.
It is believed one planet could exist around the star HD 23514 due to the exceptional number of hot dust particles surrounding it.
Mrs Fenton points to how Pleiades has been referenced repeatedly by various cultures.
She said: "All around the world ancient cultures talk about ancestral beings from the Pleiades and portals that connect those stars with this planet, this includes mythology in Japan, Indonesia, Mexico, American Indians, ancient Egypt, Sumeria and Aboriginal Australia."
Can Hyper Dimensional Alien Life Forms Exist In Our 3rd Dimensional Reality
Can Hyper Dimensional Alien Life Forms Exist In Our 3rd Dimensional Reality
There are many stories in UFOlogy that reference aliens that originate in the higher dimensions. Some believers have mentioned 4th-dimensional beings all the way up to 11th dimensional. It is the intention of this article to show how 11th or any advanced dimensional creatures can not exist in our 3-dimensional world. Or at least not have their fractional representation represent anything that resembles life.
In UFOlogy the vast number of people believe in what is known as “the nuts and bolts” hypothesis of ufos. UFO’s are real solid crafts from some distant star system. Technology analogous but completely different than our own. Advanced intelligence’s using science in ways we do not understand…yet. Advanced spacecraft just not from planet Earth.
There is another faction of UFOlogists that think our visitors are from higher dimensions in our Universe. It extends to the idea that they could even be from parallel Universes. The granddaddy of this line of reasoning is the brilliant scientist Dr. Jacques Vallée. His books are required reading for anybody interested into the serious investigation into the UFO enigma.
Many UFO experiencers describe experiences that are labeled “high strangeness”. “high strangeness” refers to a global phenomenon so strange and foreign to our daily terrestrial mode of thought, which it carries with it many implications of the existence of intelligence’s other than our own. It describes UFO cases that are not only peculiar but that can often be utterly absurd. In some cases, there are events before, during, and after the “sighting proper” imbued with elements of time and space distortion, bizarre synchronicity’s, strange states of consciousness, beings that act absurd, strange “creatures” associated with the sighting, but not necessarily part of the sighting, anomalous phone calls, electronic glitches, Immensely powerful Déjà vu episodes, and paranormal events including poltergeist-type activity.
The high strangeness aspect of many UFO experiencer’s experiences is hard to attribute to the “Nuts and Bolts” hypothesis.
What most people do not consider is that something or someone that exists nativity in say the 11th dimension also exists in all the lower dimensions below it. Some form of fractional representation will exist or display in the lower dimensions. So an 11th-dimensional alien will have some form of fractional representation in the 10th, 9th, 8th,7th,6th,5th,4th, 3rd (ours), 2nd, and single dimensional geometry.
If you are imagining additional spatial dimensions, it makes sense to understand those primarily as mathematical attributes that are necessary to make the math of the world work out. It’s not really that special. It’s just math, as far as our experience is concerned. It’s not even math that can give us special powers since the effects of these other dimensions are likely to be very, very small.
If you take a two-dimensional plane, and pass a three-dimensional sphere through it, the appearance on that plane would be a circle. Similarly, if you would take a single line, and try to pass a sphere through it, the image would be at most two points, though at the ends, potentially one point. The point of all this is that a higher dimensional object when it passes through a lower dimensional object presents the portions of the object according to the dimensions of the lower dimensional object.
In the picture below a human falls through the 2nd dimension. All the human would appear like is a series of expanding and contracting circlesoblongsellipsesetc. Hardly a representation of a person we are familiar with. This humans fractional representation is just variations of circles.
Let’s say that one of the extra dimensions, or maybe all of them, confer an ability to travel through time. To us, they would appear to be here with us when they were elsewhere. We couldn’t perceive them moving forward or backward in time. Some of the higher dimensions may not be spatial ones. You can think of a dimension as an axis of freedom. There are undoubtedly axes of freedom that is unknown and unfathomable to us.
I have worked out and conceptualized the 4th dimension. I’m talking about four macroscopic dimensions. Obviously, it’s impossible to be sure. But given what we know and guess about the conditions propitious for life, we could speculate. Here are a few ideas of why it might not be possible:
Stable orbits.
The question puts no restrictions on how physics could operate in the 4D universe. So in many ways, it could be anything. However, in order to have life as we understand it, one necessity is time; that is, physics which has some conservation laws and time symmetries so that the statistical laws of thermodynamics can be applied. In such a universe, life is happiest standing next to a fire; for instance, there’s us, with a burning sun on one side, and a cold vacuum of space on the other. The reason we can stay here is that the gravitational field of a point mass spreads in three-dimensional space with a flux proportional to the surface area of a sphere; that is, gravity is proportional to 1/r². That happens to allow for stable orbits, as the 4D equivalent, 1/r³, would not.
Surface to volume
At the simplest level, a surface to volume ratio always grows linearly with r, no matter what the number of dimensions. But as soon as that surface has some thickness, that is no longer true. In enough dimensions, the volume of an arbitrarily thin eggshell will be arbitrarily larger than the volume inside the egg. There’s no particular reason to believe this would be an insurmountable problem for 4D life, just one dimension up from us, but it would be a drag. Even here in 3D, our skin is already our largest organ.
Losing your car keys
It would also be really annoying in 4D space to leave something somewhere, then have to search for it later. Even if you were on the “surface” of a “hyperplanet”, you’d have to search in at least 3 dimensions; and 3D random walks, unlike 2D ones, are not recurrent. On the other hand, this same phenomenon would help when you wanted to throw out the garbage or move away from your parents. It’s hard to say for sure if on balance this would be a good thing or a bad thing for life or for intelligent life, but I suspect it would be bad.
In a universe with four spatial dimensions, life would be impossible on Earth—indeed, the Earth would not exist. In a universe with four spatial dimensions, atoms could not form: the orbits of the electrons around the nucleus of any atom would be unstable.
These extrapolations of the 4th dimension are sort of a randomizing factor. There may be many other randomizing factors in the higher dimensions but as before that is beyond my primate brain. The filtration through the 4th dimension will filter out anything that will be recognizable to us as anything particular. This does not necessarily mean that a higher dimensional creature has no controllable influence here in our limited 3 spatial dimensions. This is what I hypothesize is the cause of the “high strangeness” mentioned at the start of the article.
Since M-Theory became well known the UFO accounts now contain accounts of 11th-dimensional aliens. The other higher dimensions simply would not be apparent to us, unless they chose to present the results of their multidimensional behavior in a form we can perceive.
It is my hypothesis that “Any sufficiently advanced hyper dimensional creature will appear in our 3D world as background noise, unidentifiable, and indistinguishable from nature”. They would influence you in the form of your reality. Which your mind and all your collective past experiences have experienced, filtered through intellect and level of intelligence. All that in totality makes you. Your perceptions would be influenced (or modified) in the most ephemeral and conscious way. Your experience of these entities would be different for everyone as everyone has had a different experiential past and different neurology. The proof would be in the experience as no evidence as us primitive monkeys would expect would be possible. Perception and awareness are what it is all about.
If the reported “high strangeness” that is reported by so many UFO experiencers is caused by higher dimensional creatures. It can be surmised that they do not completely understand our perceptions completely. They do not understand how cause and effect work in our 3D worldview. They may have totally benevolent intentions in their manipulation but it turns out to be highly freaky and startling to us. Communication filtered through the mostly unknown higher dimension realities could account for what we call “high strangeness”.
Keep an open mind and consider that the Universe is stranger than we imagine, and is stranger than we can imagine.

A MASSIVE HEAT SOURCE WAS JUST DISCOVERED UNDER ANTARCTICA, DRIVING ICE MELT AND VOLCANISM
A MASSIVE HEAT SOURCE WAS JUST DISCOVERED UNDER ANTARCTICA, DRIVING ICE MELT AND VOLCANISM
Recent discoveries have revealed just how volcanic Antarctica really is, despite being hidden underneath massive ice sheets. However, up until now, there remained significant debate as to what is causing the unusual amount of volcanic activity under an area covered in ice.
Recent research found the source of magma that is fueling the volcanoes underneath Antarctica. The source, a massive upwelling of mantle magma, also known as a hotspot. This is a similar mechanism that produced the Hawaiian Islands and fuels volcanic and geothermal activity in Yellowstone.
There were two key reasons this discovery was difficult to come by, despite significant research.
The first is the difficulty of measuring anything underneath kilometers of ice. Typically geoscientists gain a better understanding of the Earth’s inner workings by sending sound waves into the ground and measuring the time and angle at which they return to the surface. Using complex mathematical algorithms, geophysicists are able to reconstruct a three-dimensional picture of the subsurface. However, this was difficult to do when any acoustic signal has to travel through kilometers of chaotic ice, causing significant noise in the subsurface “picture” beneath Antarctica.
The second is the counterintuitive nature of having a massive heat source underneath an area that is covered with kilometers of ice. With an average ice sheet thickness of 2.16 km and a maximum thickness of around 4.7 km, it’s hard to believe there is a massive heat source similar to the one in Yellowstone sitting beneath the ice. How has the heat source not prevented ice build up?
To tackle these questions the research team used a numerical model to help constrain the heat required to produce the melting we currently measure in Antarctica. While direct measurements underneath Antarctica are difficult and few, there are numerous measurements of meltwater outflow. This allowed the research team to constrain their model.
Depiction of the water pathways under the Antarctic ice sheet. Blue dots are lakes, whereas lines show rivers. Marie Byrd Land, the source of the mantle plume, is located near the Antarctic Peninsula.
It is well known that there are rivers and lakes beneath Antarctica that drain meltwater to the ocean. Some lakes are as large as Lake Erie and can rapidly drain into the ocean, causing a sudden sinking of the overlying ice.
The numerical model, using constrained melt rates, were able to predict heat sources underneath Antarctica. The team found that the heat coming from beneath Antarctica is constrained to 150 milliwatts per square meter, with a higher heat rate causing too much melting as compared to what is measured. To compare that with other areas, the average heat flux from the Earth is 40-60 milliwatts per square meter and it reaches an average of 200 milliwatts beneath Yellowstone National Park.
Interestingly, the team found one location where the heat flow required jumped to 150-180 milliwatts underneath Antarctica. This area is the presumed source of the massive mantle upwelling and heat source. The Marie Byrd Land mantle plume appears to be the primary driver of volcanic activity in Antarctica. Geologists believe the mantle plume formed 50 to 110 million years ago when Antarctica was not covered in ice. Since then, the mantle plume has continually worked to heat up Antarctica, continually working to melt the overlying ice.
NAVY ENGINEER: I SAW ANCIENT RUINS, ALIENS, AND TOP-SECRET BASES IN ANTARCTICA!
NAVY ENGINEER: I SAW ANCIENT RUINS, ALIENS, AND TOP-SECRET BASES IN ANTARCTICA!
On January 2, 2015 the editor of website earthfiles.com received a letter from an alleged retired U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class Flight Engineer.
The letter recounts experiences where the anonymous Navy officer (who refers to himself as “Brian”) recounts his bizarre and extraordinary experiences flying cargo and rescue in Antarctica between the years 1983 to 1997. He claims that a collaboration between humans and aliens exist, and Antarctica is a major research ground for these collaborations.
In the letter the officer says he experienced things such as:
Silver discs darting around over the Transantarctic Mountains
During an emergency they entered a No Fly Zone and saw an entrance to a human and E. T. science research base under the ice
His crew picked up a dozen scientists who had disappeared for two weeks previous. They would not talk and their faces looked scared.
He has decided to share what he experienced between those years in the following letter, reproduced in full below:
Hi Linda
I am a retired United States Navy LC130 Flight Engineer that retired after 20 years of service in 1997. I have been wanting to write you for a long time about my experience on the Antarctic continent with flying vehicles that I was told not to talk about. I served part of my 20 years in the Navy with a Squadron called Antarctic Development Squadron Six or VXE-6 as it was also known. I served with this squadron from around 1983 till I retired March of 1997. Being a flight engineer and flying more then 4000 hours in that capacity I have seen things that most people have not even imagined on the Continent of Antarctica. The land there seems more alien then earthly. Our deployments to this land started in late September and ended the end of February every year until the Squadron was decommissioned in 1999. This time of year was the summer season when most of the science was done do to warmer temps and 24 hours of daylight.
During my time in the squadron I flew to almost every part of the Antarctic Continent including the South Pole more the 300 times. McMurdo Station which is 3.5 hours of flying time from the South Pole station was the point of squadron operation during our yearly deployments. Between these two stations is a mountain range called the Trans Antarctic’s. With what we called Severe Clear weather from McMurdo to South Pole the Trans Antarctic’s are visible from the altitudes which the aircraft flew approximately 25,000 to 35,000 feet. On several flights to and from South Pole our crew viewed air vehicles darting around the tops of Trans Antarctic’s almost exactly in the same spot every time we would fly by and view them. This is very unusual for air traffic down there due to the fact that the only aircraft flying on the continent were our squadron aircraft. Every aircraft knew where the other aircraft were do to flight schedules being followed.
Another unique issue with South Pole station is that our aircraft was not allowed to fly over a certain area designated 5 miles from the station. The reason stated because of a air sampling camp in that area. This did not make any sense to any of us on the crew because on 2 different occasions we had to fly over this area. One time due to a medical evacuation of the Australian camp called Davis Camp. It was on the opposite side of the continent and we had to refuel at South Pole and a direct course to this Davis Camp was right over the air sampling station. The only thing we saw going over this camp was a very large hole going into the ice. You could fly one of our LC130 into this thing.
It was after this medevac mission we where briefed by some spooks (Intelligence Agents I presumed) from Washington DC and told not to speak of the area we overflew. The other time we got close to “The air sampling Camp” we had navigation and electrical failures on the aircraft and was told to immediately depart the area and report to our squadron commanding officer when we returned to McMurdo. Needless to say our pilot (Aircraft Commander) got his butt chewed and our crew was not on the South Pole supply run for over a month. There were many other times we saw things that was out of the ordinary.
Navy Engineer: I Saw Ancient Ruins, Aliens, And Top-Secret Bases In
One outlying camp (near Marie Byrd Land) we dropped scientists and their equipment at was out of communication with McMurdo for 2 weeks. Our crew flew back to the camp to find out if the scientists were ok. We found no one there and no sign of any fowl play. The Radio was working fine as we called McMurdo to verify it working properly. We left the camp and flew back to McMurdo as ordered by our CO. A week later the Scientist showed back up to there camp and called McMurdo for someone to come pick them up. Our crew got the flight back there to pick them since we put them into that camp and we knew the terrain and location. None of the scientists would talk to any of the crew on the plane and to me they looked scared.
As soon as we landed back at McMurdo they (Scientists) where put on another of our squadron aircraft and flown to Christchurch New Zealand. We never heard about them again. Their equipment that we brought back from the camp was put in quarantine and shipped back to the United States escorted by the same spooks that debriefed us about our fly over of the air sample camp/ large hole in the ice. I could go on and on about things and situations that I observed during my tour with VXE-6. Talk among the flight crews was that there is a UFO base at South Pole and some of the crew heard talk from some of the scientist working at the Pole of EBEs working with and interacting with the scientists at that air sampling camp/large ice hole.
"A communication disruption can only mean one thing: Invasion." --Sio Bibble, Queen Amidala’s prime minister in Star Wars Episode I – Attack of the Clones
Despite the sage courtier’s assertion in the first installment of George Lucas’s second round of space epics, we might sooner believe that a planet-wide interruption of communications, or a collapse of the power grid, was due to a Carrington-level event more than an alien attack. Unless cloaking technology really exists, an alien fleet would be visible to our telescopes and hopefully our orbiting satellites, unless they too had been wiped out. Nevertheless, the opening rounds of an assault by hostile non-humans are the key moment of any science fiction movie. How would that translate into a real life event?
In November 1979, Thomas Muldoon, writing for the National Enquirer, published an article with the sensational headline: "Take UFOs Seriously or Be Prepared for Sneak Invasion by Space Aliens." Some may find it amusing to see this article included among the National Security Agency's cache of information on the subject of unidentified flying objects (https://www.nsa.gov/news-features/declassified-documents/ufo/assets/files/gov_super_secret_agency.pdf), but the Enquirer was at the forefront of much UFO journalism in those days, as evidenced by the sterling work of the late Bob Pratt. The NSA report - "obtained exclusively by The ENQUIRER", as we are reminded - was aimed at dispelling the notion that UFOs were unworthy of scrutiny by the military/scientific establishment.
"If America does not start taking the sightings seriously, we leaver ourselves wide open to the possibility of a Pearl Harbor-type UFO invasion. The very fact that UFO phenomena have been witnessed all over the world from ancient times, and by considerable numbers of reputable scientists in recent times, now indicates rather strongly that UFOs are not all hoaxes, and if anything, rather than diminishing, the modern trend is toward increased reports from all sources."
So far so good. The nameless report, allegedly prepared in 1968, then moves on to scorn the "leisurely scientific approach" and urge a more determined response to fight the perceived threat of an alien invasion.
Carl Sagan had issued his own thoughts on the matter just two years earlier. “One of the primary motivations for the exploration of the New World,” he wrote, “was to convert the inhabitants to Christianity – peacefully if possible, forcefully if necessary. Can we exclude the possibility of an extraterrestrial evangelism? Can we conclude even darker motives? Might an extraterrestrial society want to be alone at the summit of galactic power and make a careful effort to crush prospective contenders? Or might there even be the cockroach response – to stamp out an alien creature simply because it is different?”
The concept of an interplanetary war in our times, a thought which admittedly smacks of the Cold War's "flying saucer" scare, has been seriously invoked by Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the 1950's and by President Ronald Reagan in the 1980's. NATO allegedly prepared a document evaluating the threat posed to existing conventional and military forces in the 1960's, conceding that "we virtually have no defense against their advanced technology." Serious researchers like the late Dr. Olavo Fontes analyzed the possibility that northern Brazil would be occupied by a UFO invasion force in the wake of the attack on the Itaipú garrison in 1965. in the Summer 1998 issue of the Samizdat newsletter, Brazilian researcher Oriel Farías told the world about the incredible and still little-known UFO wave that covered northeastern Brazil and which centered on the town of Guarabira. According to Farías, the outstanding characteristic of the '98 flap was the sheer variety of objects reported, ranging from standard disk-shaped craft to massive objects projecting powerful beams of light. "Lengths of 30 meters have been reported, the size of a 20-storey building," he writes. The Guarabira "invasion" began on March 3, 1998 and was spearheaded by 26 UFOs flying over the city at 6:45 p.m., when the lights went out in Guarabira, and lasting until 3:45 a.m., when power returned to the city. This blackout remains unexplained to this day.
Almost 500 witnesses all over France reported seeing a veritable invasion force of giant black triangles on November 5, 1990. In an article translated by author George Andrews from OVNI-MAGAZINE, a publication of the Banque Internationale de Données Ufologiques, it was said that "...The flight path of this armada of over 70 ships (that is the minimal figure) was at an altitude of 1000 meters (some 320 feet), sometimes over the horizon, flying a horizontal course after rapidly descending from the skies, following parallel trajectories distant from each other by 5 to 25 kilometers...Considering the facts of the matter altogether implies that a non-human intelligence and technology were responsible for the phenomena." The French space agency, CNES, based in Toulouse, ascribed the sightings to the disintegration of the Soviet Gorizont booster in the upper atmosphere, using a telex received from NASA to substantiate their claim, in spite of the serious discrepancies between the booster reentry times and those of the sightings. The sightings recorded by OVNI-MAGAZINE appeared to indicate toward craft of the same nature as those seen in Belgium and the U.S.: spotlights on the underside of the vehicle' hull, strobes which swept the ground, simultaneous activation and deactivation of the spotlights were among the common characteristics. It is interesting to note that when UFOs were reported above the Pyrenees on March 31 1993, the CNES once again sought to dismiss the sightings as the reentry of another Russian space booster that had lifted the "Cosmos" 2238 satellite into orbit the previous evening.
In 1981, Colin A. Phillips of UFO Research had the following words to share in a meeting held in Adelaide, Australia: “Thirty years after the great UFO invasion of Earth occurred, because no physical war was fought, the battle of the mind was lost. Those who have knowledge of this event and dare speak of it, have been drowned out with laughter and ridicule or destroyed by character assassination. The world audience with its provincial view, narrow horizons and vested interests, is not ready for this new concept. However, those who talked about swamp gas and degraded facts to clues, are still "sifting carefully through the evidence", creating UFO jargon, statistics and methods of investigation, trying to make a science of what all the time was a major historical event. The UFO visitations to Earth of the 1950's have subsided now and the real work of UFO groups should be to use the best evidence to inform governments and citizens of the real significance of this event on our future civilization. We should have an informed public in readiness should the events of the 1950’s be repeated.”

Daytime UFO over Pensacola, Florida 23-Apr-2018
Daytime UFO over Pensacola, Florida 23-Apr-2018
New footage of a bright fast object flying across the sky above Pensacola in Florida.
Witness report:
Blinking lights in the sky, not sure if it was multiple crafts or just multiple lights on one giant craft craft I was going home with my mother and sister. I noticed the object when I looked out the window and saw blinking lights, either 2 or more. I thought they were just planes when I first saw them but then it just got kinda weird. It looked like they would hover, and then start moving again. They moved veeeerrry sloooowly. In fact they almost never left sight, that’s how slow they moved. They would change directions and stayed the same length apart sometimes. At first I thought they were two separate UFOs flying together, but then when I rewatch my video that I got of them, it looks like there may be more blinking lights that I didn’t even notice in real life. So now I’m wondering if they were multiple lights on one giant craft. And if that’s the case, the that thing was huge. I felt kinda frightened and odd cause I mean it was an odd experience and if it was an actual UFO, I didn’t want to be abducted. I also felt kinda excited and giddy cause I had always wanted to see a UFO, or something odd like that. I lost sight of the object because I just decided to stop watching it, it was a long car ride, and the lights were just doing the same thing over and over, blinking, hovering, and moving, I didn’t really want to keep staring at it and plus I was tired so I decided to take a nap. Also, I tried looking up videos that were similar, and I think I found some, but the lights I saw blinked randomly it seemed, whereas in other videos I saw they looked like they were in a specific pattern. And the videos were taken through a car window so they aren’t the best, but I mean no UFO video is perfectly clear, haha.
'Don't Stop Motion' recently filming the moon was left baffled when three mystery objects floated past it and rapidly disappear out of frame.
The video begins with the camera focused on the moon and its signature craters. However, at the 1:18 mark, three strange objects can be seen dancing past the moon.
He believes it was most likely helium balloons that someone released, but admits the theory cannot be confirmed.
The footage was taken with a S8 attached to a 6" Newtonian Reflector scope. It was originally in portrait, but he rotated the video 90° clockwise. That's why the moon is oriented the way it is.
Emery Smith, also known as the "Black Project whistleblower", alleges he worked in a deep underground biological facility located in the USA.
There, Smith claims work is taking place on extraterrestrial technology harvested from alien beings and their crashed or captured spaceships which would change the world as we know it.
In a YouTube video, he makes a number of incredible revelations including that ET flying saucers are mostly “organic and linked to the driver”, they can be “infused with life and intelligence” and “change shape”.
Smith claims he served in the US Air Force before becoming a scientist who worked for major corporations on US military projects.

UFOs: Self-proclaimed whistleblower alien scientist Emery Smith
“They have already mastered teleportation so the body can shrink within in its own living space. And that’s why they can go a million miles per hour and make a right hand turn, because they don’t feel it.”
Emery Smith
He alleges to have examined more than 3,000 body parts of alien beings.
It has been reported that Smith said he was based at a ultra-secret section of the huge Kirkland Air Force Base in New Mexico, USA.
In the YouTube video, posted by the 'Destroying the Illusion' channel, he makes some astonishing claims.
“I’ve witnessed many different craft in these projects, I was actually working with the craft and bodies because they’re connected,” Smith claims.
“A lot of the craft are organic material which means only the driver of that race can operate the vehicle due to their frequency of the genetic DNA and the frequency that they are emitting.
“It’s kind of like having a pet or a car that only responds to the owner.
“These types of vehicles are so amazing, they are usually made in space through harmonics and frequency.
“So they can actually give life to a craft and enthuse it with artificial intelligence or consciousness, or both.
“And match it to the driver or occupant, of this vehicle.”
He goes on to claim to having worked on number different types of downed flying saucers, which he claims are constantly “emitting an amazing energy from space” some 30 years after being captured.
“Of course there’s always the classic spheres, egg shapes and disc shapes,” he added.
“There’s also other craft that are inter-dimensional that can change shape.
“So they might come in the form of light and they can manifest and change their atomic structure to become a solid so these types of craft are a little bit more advanced than the craft than we hear about on pop culture and on tv.”
Some of his claims sound like they have been ripped from a science fiction movie.
But Smith claims that this technology which is “thousands of years ahead” is being “suppressed” from public knowledge.
And big companies are “fighting” to get their hands on the science.
He claimed: “These craft can actually go inter-dimensional, they can change shape with all of the occupants not knowing its happening and then reform again in different worlds and different dimensions, and different parts of the universe immediately.
“They have their own atmosphere, their own gravity, they have their own little space that they have projected from this craft which keeps them completely encapsulated in it.
“They have already mastered teleportation so the body can shrink within in its own living space.
“And that’s why they can go a million miles per hour and make a right hand turn, because they don’t feel it.
“Because they’re in their own dimensional holographic world, where they have to fall under those scientific algorithms.”
His reason for going public is that Smith claims the ET technology could completely change human life by offering free energy and groundbreaking medical cures.

Heat Shield for NASA's Mars 2020 Rover Cracks During Test
Heat Shield for NASA's Mars 2020 Rover Cracks During Test
By Doris Elin Salazar, Space.com Contributor
The heat shield for NASA's upcoming Mars rover suffered a fracture during testing recently, but the incident won't change the mission's launch date, agency officials said.
The Mars 2020 mission is designed to search the Red Planet's surface for signs of ancient microbial life, and the six-wheeled robot will also hunt for and characterize potentially habitable environments. The mission is scheduled to launch in 2020, when Earth and Mars are properly aligned for an interplanetary mission, and arrive at the Red Planet in early 2021.
The heat shield's structural damage, located near the shield's outer edge, happened during a weeklong test at the Denver facility of contractor Lockheed Martin Space, according to a NASA statement released Thursday (April 26). The test was intended to subject the heat shield to forces about 20 percent greater than those it will experience when it hits the Martian atmosphere for entry, descent and landing operations. [NASA's Mars Rover 2020 Mission in Pictures (Gallery)]
The Mars 2020 team found the fracture on April 12. Mission management at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, will work with Lockheed Martin to lead an examination of the cause of the crack and to decide if any design changes should be made, NASA officials said in the statement.
The incident won't delay the Mars 2020 launch, though, which is currently targeted for July 17, 2020, the officials added.
It's important to investigate this crack, because the heat shield is part of the spacecraft's thermal protection system, designed by engineers to keep the Martian rover safe as the vehicle experiences intense heat during atmospheric entry.
NASA officials said the current heat shield will be repaired to permit continued prelaunch spacecraft testing. The Mars 2020 mission team will develop a new heat shield structure over the next year, and once that's completed, the new shield will receive other important components like thermal protection tiles.
Abstract: Aerospace trade publications, visual reports and personal interviews with test pilots and engineers confirm the existence of multiple highly classified aerospace vehicles. These include boomerangs, black triangles, diamonds, arrowheads, and Spaceplanes/Trans Atmospheric Vehicles (TAVs). Funded by the so-called “black budget,” many of these programs are exempt from congressional oversight and public scrutiny. Developed along the famous “aerospace alley” region of southern California, many of these USAPs represent America’s super-secret “ace in the hole,” and provide a unique “power projection” capability for multiple military and intelligence agencies. Companies such as Lockheed, Rockwell, Northrop, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing made tremendous advancements during the “Reagan build-up” era, and many of these programs have now passed their “sunset” duration of deployment. Therefore, it’s now time for a re-examination of these programs and a renewed push for the “dis-lodging” of those that can be declassified without representing any threat to the national security of the United States.
Blackstar: The two-stage-to-orbit Spaceplane
During the 1980s, Soviet-era aerospace companies developed plans for what they called a “space fighter.” The primary roles for this spaceplane concept were the following: military reconnaissance, satellite interception, space station defense, and crew transfer applications. This full-scale development program fell under the jurisdiction of what came to be known as the Russian Kosmolyot I and II project. Upon getting word of these advancements in Russian aerospace technology, White House, and Pentagon officials became “deeply concerned” that America would lose the advantage in developing an operational spaceplane. Therefore, on December 1, 1985, American efforts to develop a two-stage-to-orbit spaceplane appear to have shifted into high gear, and oversight command for this program was transferred from the Department of Defense to a joint venture composed of the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office (CIA/NRO). The new code-name for this project was called “COSMIC WIND,” which was later renamed “Blackstar.” Through the tremendous efforts of former Aviation Week and Space Technology editor William Scott, a clear picture of this historically significant program has now emerged.
Approximately one month after the official go-ahead for this program the space shuttle Challenger exploded 72 seconds after launch on January 28, 1986. Since at least 70% of all payloads associated with the NASA shuttle program were classified DOD/intelligence agency applications, the Department of Defense/CIA/NRO lost what it termed its “assured access to space.” Not wanting to interrupt their schedule of launching highly classified satellites, the United States Air Force, CIA and the National Reconnaissance Office were now forced to rely on Titan booster rockets. However, there were multiple Titan rocket failures during the mid-1986 time-frame, and the “spook groups” found themselves “out of business.” The loss of these two space assets provided further emphasis and urgency for America to accelerate its plans to develop an operational spaceplane.

Frantic to maintain its control of the “high ground,” a desperate call went out to various aerospace defense contractors who could quickly design, build and test fly a two-stage-to-orbit spaceplane system. These included Lockheed, Rockwell, McDonnell Douglas, and Boeing. A significant majority of these contractors (except for Boeing in Seattle) had locations within what has been termed “aerospace alley” which extends from San Diego, north to Los Angeles, continuing to Lancaster/Palmdale/Air Force Plant 42, and concluding at Edwards AFB. As with most “Unacknowledged Special Access Programs” (USAPs), funding for the Blackstar program was covertly spread out over multiple projects including the ill-fated US Navy A-12 Avenger II, and the X-30 NASP (National Aerospace Plane). This wouldn’t be the first time that highly compartmented so-called “black” programs were used as a “sacrificial lamb” to cover the funding of even more highly classified projects. Many of these super-secret programs are referred to in the military/intelligence agencies as: “ace in the hole” or “trump card” technology. They are also referred to as “silver bullets.” Under extreme pressure, and on a tight schedule, the Lockheed Company in Burbank may have taken the leading role in designing a small spaceplane, and “farmed out” much of the construction/manufacturing to McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis.
The “Blackstar” system consisted of two separate components which operated as a single integrated unit: 1) a large “mothership” or carrier aircraft measuring approximately 200 feet in length. 2) a smaller “parasitic” aircraft/orbiter which could fit conformally under the belly of the mothership, and air-dropped at altitudes up to 90,000 feet. Flight testing of the Blackstar program appears to have started in 1989, and by October of the same year, the Blackstar program had flown its first operational mission. Four large carrier “Mothership” aircraft may have been produced, with eight spaceplane/orbiters possibly being built. The program was based out of Area 51/Groom Lake, utilizing the “old CIA A-12 hangers”, including and two new massive hangers that were three times larger than their historic neighbors. During flight testing and operational missions, ground controllers at Groom Lake carried the call sign “EARTH” when communicating with the spaceplane. Other bases of operation may include Alaska or Patrick AFB in Florida.

The massive mothership was referred to the “SR-3”, aka “elegant lady,” while the smaller spaceplane was designated “XOV” (Experimental Orbital Vehicle) or “Speedy.” Early in the program under the “COSMIC WIND” code-name, the large carrier aircraft was referred to as the “MAV” (Manned Aerial Vehicle), while the smaller spaceplane was designated the “AAV” (Advanced Aerial Vehicle). Resembling the 1960’s era North American Aviation XB-70 Valkyrie, the SR-3 was certainly an imposing sight to behold. Eyewitnesses who were fortunate enough to see this aircraft during the daytime described it as being “huge” or “giant.” Others simply called it the “Super Valkyrie.” Indeed, as reported by at least two former North American Aviation test pilots, the technology existed in the 1950s to develop a two-stage-to-orbit spaceplane system. With the advantage of 30 years of additional technological developments, and almost unlimited access to black budget funding, its well within the capability of the America aerospace industry to design, build and test fly such a vehicle.
With a wingspan of 120 feet, the SR-3 featured a triangular/delta wing configuration, with large “tip-sails” or winglets that rose up 12 feet and were canted at a 35-degree angle. It also featured a dorsal ridge or “spine” that extended immediately behind the cockpit, and ran down the length of the fuselage to the trailing edge of the wing. A retractable set canards (with their own winglets) were also located just aft of the crew compartment (reference email to Michael Schratt from Nancy Certain 9/13/16). These canards had the capability of retracting forward to support low speed applications. The SR-3 carried a crew of three consisting of the pilot, co-pilot and launch control officer (LRO) who sat facing backwards. The bottom of the aircraft featured a large XB-70 like triangular “splitter” air-intake which was divided into two banks at the rear of the craft. However, the most prominent feature was what appeared to be a “relieved section” or “scooped out” portion of the bottom which was designed to allow the smaller spaceplane to fit inside forming an aerodynamically efficient mating of the two aircraft (reference detailed report from James Petty to Michael Schratt 12/5/16).
Original SR-3 Mothership sketch by Nancy Certain.
According to eyewitness and Rocket scientist James Petty who saw both the Mothership and its smaller parasitic aircraft flying over Salt Lake City Utah on October 4, 1998, the more massive SR-3 carrier aircraft is powered by six modified variable-cycle J-93 engines (reference in-person 90- minute videotape interview of James Petty conducted by Michael Schratt 3/12/16). However, there appears to be a discrepancy regarding precisely what type of propulsion system was used to power the mothership. Those within the vicinity of SR-3 flight operations described hearing a VERY LOUD PULSING ROARING noise during take-off roll and climb out. This was confirmed by witness Nancy Certain Ph.D., from Doylestown PA, who saw the massive carrier aircraft during the day from a half-mile distance at an altitude of approximately 2,500 feet in 1993. Others stated that as the aircraft accelerated and gained altitude, the frequency and intensity of the pulsing noise increased. This may indicate the use of a combined cycle scramjet engine which can operate at both low and high speeds. Either way, it’s clear that this aircraft utilizes some form of “multi-cycle” engine.
The mothership has a weight of 275,000 to 300,000 pounds and a range of 6,000 miles (unlimited with aerial refueling). The SR-3 is capable of speeds over Mach 6 and can climb to an altitude of 150,000 feet. It features a white/grey exterior surface, with two being built by 1988. Fuel for the SR-3 consists of liquid hydrogen/liquid methane with JP8 used in the case of the J-93 engines. The contractors involved with designing and building the SR-3 mothership may have consisted of Lockheed, Rockwell, and Boeing. Final assembly took place at Boeing’s large assembly facility in Seattle. It’s interesting to note that on October 14, 1986, Boeing filed a patent (4,802,639) for a two-stage-to-orbit spaceplane system that closely matched the Blackstar operational capabilities, although the physical characteristics of the craft were different than what was reported by multiple eyewitnesses.Once reaching an altitude of 90,000 feet and a speed of Mach 3, the SR-3 air-drops its smaller parasitic aircraft, and either returns to its original base of operation or takes on additional fuel for an extended mission.

The smaller XOV/Speedy spaceplane was manufactured in two sizes and featured a highly swept wing lifting body configuration. One measuring approximately 60-65 feet in length, with a crew of two that sat side-by-side, and another measuring 97.5 feet with a single pilot. These were named “XOV-1” and “XOV-2.” Flying in an inverted low earth orbit orientation, the XOV featured a two-door “Q-bay” on its upper surface for the operation of a large aperture adaptive optics system that featured “inches resolution.” This “reconnaissance package” had the capability of correcting for atmospheric disturbances, thereby generating extremely high-resolution images of ground-based targets. The Q-bay could also serve as a launching platform for hyper-velocity depleted uranium “Rods-from God.” The XOV could attain altitudes of between 150-250 miles, and speeds exceeding 17,500 mph (Mach 20). The primary propulsion system for the XOV were four linear aerospike engines that were grouped in two banks at the aft end of the vehicle. These engines were developed by a joint venture which included Aerojet and the Pratt & Whitney/Rocketdyne Company, which later became Aerojet Rocketdyne. Witnesses who have observed the back of this vehicle described seeing what looked like “radiator screens” covering the exhaust ports. Others described it as looking like “ventilation grating.” Embedded within the exhaust ports were multiple 10-inch diameter “tubes” which served to mix cooling air, thereby reducing the vehicle’s infrared signature. These tubes gave the exhaust ports an unusual “honeycomb” appearance. Ground tests of this unique engine took place at Groom Lake during 1988.

The larger 97.5-foot long spaceplane also featured articulating intakes and variable geometry exhaust ports. On either side of the exhaust ports, a dark circular opening was seen which may have served as a solid rocket booster (SRB) receptacle. These could be loaded into the craft “like a shotgun shell” and then removed after the conclusion of a mission. The SRBs served to provide an extra boost, pushing the spaceplane into a low earth orbit flight path. Once in orbit, the spaceplane had the capability of “dipping back down” into the atmosphere and then climbing back up again. Using this technique of “skipping” over the outer reaches of the atmosphere, the spaceplane could dramatically increase its range. After completing its mission, the spaceplane would glide back to earth “like the space shuttle” and land horizontally at multiple military locations in the United States. It could then be “turned around” within 48 hours or “every other day” to fly another mission. Compared to the space shuttle which can take months or even years to prepare for flight, the Blackstar system represented a cost-effective alternative. Another unique advantage was its capability to serve as a “rapid response” military/reconnaissance platform that could surprise an enemy by flying unpredictable flight paths, unlike spy satellites.
The outer wing sections of the XOV featured a “droop down” articulated capability, which took advantage of “compression lift.” The only movable control surfaces on the Speedy spaceplane were what appeared to be flaps/speed brakes located on the upper and lower rear surface of the vehicle. A short “stubby tail” which extended from aft of the Q-bay to the extreme end of the craft served as both a vertical stabilizer and an attachment point for joining with the larger carrier aircraft. The outer structure of the craft may have been built at the McDonnell Douglas facility in St. Louis and featured an advanced composite material that was “stacked” in layers forming a sandwich to attain the desired thickness. Red colored thermal protective areas were located along the leading edges of its wings. The entire bottom surface featured dark-colored thermal resistant “space shuttle tiles.” Four “channels” or “strakelets” were seen on the bottom of the craft. These one to two-foot deep longitudinal “grooves” helped to maintain the rigidity of the structure and may have served as a way to dissipate heat during high-speed operations. Apparently, these grooves/inlets were “very complex,” and most likely took multiple attempts to perfect.
Illustration (Image credit: Michael Schratt)
The XOV incorporated a very unusual landing gear configuration which included a four-wheel nose gear arrangement, and a retractable “ski-like” landing gear skid that extended directly from the bottom of the craft. Approximately at the mid-point on the lower surface of the wings, a retractable “pogo-type” outrigger landing gear helped to stabilize the craft during roll-out. Generally speaking, highly swept low aspect ratio lifting body configurations have high landing speeds. Therefore, the Speedy spaceplane was said to have a landing speed between 250-300 mph, with the central retractable landing skid taking the brunt of the force. Certainly, the craft was a “handful” for even the most experienced test pilots. Only those with practical application in flying multiple different types of aircraft would qualify for handling such a strange and exotic aircraft. Pilots who were the “Maverick” type, and had previous air racing experience would be at the top of the list. Fuel for the XOV was a “gelled Boron” based “slurry” or endothermic type that had the consistency of toothpaste. Work on the spaceplane proceeded slowly until 1989 when the program made tremendous progress, and engineers were working “around the clock” 24 hours a day, seven days per week, for three years. It was also during this timeframe that a “fuel breakthrough” was made, which further accelerated the program.

Letter from John Andrews to Pete Eames describing the emergency landing of a classified aircraft (which was tracked going Mach 4.2) at Kadena AFB on February 12-13, 1994.
On February 13 of 1994, things took a drastic turn on the project. On that day, an XOV spaceplane was involved in an incident that resulted in the craft making an emergency landing at Kadena AFB in Japan. This particular aircraft was tracked by Kadena air traffic controllers going Mach 4.2, and other aircraft in the vicinity had to be diverted to avoid a collision. Subsequently, the entire base was put on a “Red 3” lockdown for three days. Apparently, during the launch sequence, the stubby vertical fin/pylon on the spaceplane somehow made contact with its carrier aircraft and was forced to make an unscheduled detour. Within 24 hours, a highly modified Lockheed C-5 Galaxy cargo transport aircraft was dispatched from Holloman AFB to retrieve the damaged spaceplane. To “fill a gap” in their intelligence gathering capability, the CIA/NRO convinced Congress in May of 1994 to allocate 100 million dollars to put the SR-71 Blackbird spy-plane back into service so that the Blackstar program could get back on track. Three of these unique C-5 aircraft were produced which featured eight-foot-wide “chipmunk cheek” extensions on each side of the fuselage. Originally, these modifications were specifically incorporated for the purpose of transporting large containers which protected satellites during transit to launch sites. However, they were also later used to transport classified aircraft to multiple locations around the world. These highly modified aircraft also utilized an extra set of six-wheeled landing gear. Two of these aircraft were operated by NASA and carried the tail numbers 00503, and 00504. The third was operated by the CIA and featured a large red “CL” marking on its vertical stabilizer. Upon arriving at Kadena AFB, the damaged aircraft was quickly loaded inside the C-5, which then made a direct flight back to Holloman AFB.

Sometime around February 15 of 1994, the C-5 arrived back at Holloman AFB with its precious yet damaged cargo inside. The aircraft then taxied to a remote part of the long runway at the base. Eyewitnesses who saw the spaceplane being unloaded from the much larger cargo aircraft during the daytime indicated that it was a complicated process which took at least three hours to complete. Apparently, the outer wing panels of the spaceplane have the capability of folding to allow for transportation in the C-5. One witness (a transient F-15 pilot), who saw the entire event unfold through binoculars from the cockpit of his aircraft while it was parked on the ground, sketched what he observed. “no-nonsense” military security guards were overseeing the entire unloading process. Once the spaceplane was pulled from the opened “clamshell” door of the C-5, it was immediately apparent that some damage had occurred to the spaceplane. A large tarp was seen covering the stubby vertical tail. However, this tarp did not completely obscure the view of the aft section which revealed a large “chunk” missing. In addition, the F-15 pilot also identified multiple missing tiles on the spacecraft’s bottom right wing section. It’s unknown at this time if this event in conjunction with other technical challenges “shelved” the Blackstar project, or if it secretly continued its covert activity. In the end, the Blackstar program represents one of the “crown jewels” of the military-industrial complex. It’s unlikely that the engineers or test pilots associated with the project will get the credit they deserve anytime in the foreseeable future. Like many other black programs, it’s entirely possible that it will remain another unacknowledged “silver bullet” being hidden away in some dark and mysterious hangar located somewhere in the southwest.

Dear Mr. Marler,
I have just read your book “Triangular UFOs an estimate of the situation.” I found the book to be most informative since I myself had a close sighting of a triangular UFO in 1990. I always assumed that what I saw was a top-secret military aircraft, and over the years I have read about such projects as the TR-3B (TR-3B real or fictitious who knows?) At any rate, I was quite happy with my assumptions until I read your book which revealed that such craft were seen as far back as the 1930’s and even in the late 1800’s. Obviously, I found this to be quite thought provoking and as led me to re-assess what I saw that night. I therefore decided to send you this e-mail outlining the events of that night, and would appreciate any comments from your perspective. Please keep in mind, it is now 23 years since my sighting, and some of the detail is by now a little fuzzy. I have therefore left out anything of which I am not certain. I have also attempted to attach what I know to be a poorly drawn sketch (it goes without saying I’m no artist). Also, I would add that at the time a serving Police Officer, and have since retired after 30 years of service.
On the evening of August 25, 1990 my then wife and I had attended at Manchester Main Road football stadium to watch the band Fleetwood Mac. At the end of the concert, it took some time to get out of the makeshift car park, and through the heavy traffic, the time was around midnight. Our route home to Barnsley took us over the Woodhead pass, which crosses over the Pennine hills, and is surrounded in the main by open moor land. That particular night, stretches of the road were covered with low cloud or mist causing poor visibility. As a result, I was forced to drive slowly, approximately 20 mph. Due to the late hour, the road was quiet, and my wife had wound back her seat and fallen asleep. I cannot say exactly where the sighting took place due to the poor visibility, but I believe I was nearer to the Barnsley end of the Woodhead Pass, possibly around the Board Hill area.
Whilst driving slowly, and trying to concentrate on the road, my attention was drawn skywards due to intermittent flashes of light which I assumed to be sheet lightning (though there was no accompanying sounds of thunder). It was whilst glancing skywards that I saw the nose of a huge black triangular craft push through the low cloud and mist. As the craft emerged further, I could see it was approximately 200-300 feet in length and width at its widest part. It travelled pointed end first, and was well illuminated around its undercarriage. The craft was moving at a speed of around 10 mph, and was approximately 200 feet above the road. On seeing the craft, I wound down my car window, but could hear only a very low (almost imperceptible) humming sound. I could see that the craft was of a solid construction (not inflatable). This fact, the slow speed, and quietness gave the craft an eerie impression. I have little knowledge of aerodynamics, but even I knew that conventionally something so big and solid should be traveling at hundreds of miles an hour in order to stay aloft. (Therefore, to my mind, it was somehow defying gravity).
As previously stated the undercarriage was well illuminated with a large white light at each corner, and a light in the center. The undercarriage also appeared recessed, and I could see some sort of superstructure. As the craft passed above, I slowed the car to a virtual stop, and leaned out of the driver’s side window. The side of the craft appeared to have several illuminated windows, and at one of the windows I saw two to three figures that appeared to be human. (Certainly nothing about the figures made me think they were anything other than human, reinforcing my belief that the craft was a military project). I could see one of the figures either pointing or waving in my direction. Whilst watching the craft, it slowly and silently slipped back into the low cloud and disappeared. At this stage I drove off the road and climbed out of my car, but could see and hear nothing. By now my wife was awake, but too late to see the craft. I observed the craft for approximately 30 seconds which does not sound long, but believe me it was. I submit my story for your information, and would welcome any insight or comment from yourself. For obvious reasons, I do not make my story common knowledge, and I would be grateful if you kept my details private.
Regards, GS

The question all of us need to be asking here is would extraterrestrials by flying around in our atmosphere using triangular shaped craft with “tubes and pipes” on their bottom surfaces? It’s interesting to note that during the Hudson Valley Boomerang wave (1982-1989), many eyewitnesses reported seeing “huge metallic beams” on the underside of the craft. Others reported seeing “metal type work, like cross-beams, and tubular things hanging down here and there.” A similar looking mechanical under-structure featuring “tubes and pipes” was also identified on the bottom surface of the triangular shaped craft during the Belgium wave of 1989-1990.
In addition, during the January 5, 2000, southern Illinois triangle sightings, Shiloh police officer David Martin described seeing what he called “building blocks” and “plumbing pipes” on the bottom of the craft that he observed. What on earth could these pipes be used for? What is their exact function? One possible explanation could be that they are being utilized as liquid nitrogen cooling pipes to chill a super-conductor or liquid mercury plasma. These pipes would be used to cool the central “core” of the craft, which may explain the “donut shaped” or circular opening seen by multiple eyewitnesses. In fact, it appears that due to their placement, these pipes not only cool the central portion of these vehicles but the entire craft itself as one fully integrated unit. It seems clear that the material used to manufacture these triangular shaped craft is truly of an exotic nature. This is because materials must be in an extremely low energy state (very cold) to become “superconductive.” Of course, this requires a tremendous amount of energy or electrical power to achieve, which may explain the low frequency “humming” sound heard by multiple eyewitnesses in the vicinity of these craft. The cryogenic equipment associated with these objects produce extremely powerful electromagnetic fields around the craft which may explain the reports of strange effects such as radio static, and automobile engines mysteriously turning off and coming back on when the craft departs.
Are we hearing the effects of an electrical transformer associated with these vehicles? Multiple reports from Belgium, New York, Connecticut and Southern Illinois indicate that these triangular shaped objects fly/float/hover virtually silently, but in many cases, emit a sound similar to a “sewing machine,” or a “machine shop running in the distance.” Has the American aerospace industry finally achieved the “Holy Grail” of aviation by constructing triangular shaped craft that utilize an onboard power source (possibly a nuclear reactor), in conjunction with high voltage electrical transformers which supply the necessary power to chill the core of a superconductor? These craft would lack the wings, propellers, jet engines, and control surfaces of standard aircraft, and could mimic the form fit and function of “extraterrestrial UFOs.”

It was November of 1985 when Yorktown Heights NY resident Maureen Davis had a genuinely incredible night-time encounter with a massive shaped triangular object which was described as being the size of a “football stadium.” She had been parked at the intersection of Route 132 and Oakside Road waiting for her husband to get off the bus. Then, Maureen noticed something strange in the sky towards the northeast. It appeared to be a massive isosceles triangular-shaped “thing” that was hovering silently near what seemed to be the Lake Osceola area. To her amazement, the bottom of the craft opened up, and she got a very rare glimpse of the interior. She described seeing multiple levels of lights on the inside (similar to a multi-story terrace-shaped apartment complex). After approximately three minutes, a pulsating red light flew up into the opening, and the circular “hatch” disappeared. The strange triangular shaped object then appeared to speed away at incredible speed, without causing a sonic boom. (Reference In The Night Sky Page 38 by Linda Zimmermann). So, what did Maureen Davis see? Was it an extraterrestrial spacecraft from another world? Or, was it something that had a more “earthly” explanation? Let’s examine one feature of this encounter. Specifically, the craft’s departure. Many times, in UFO cases, we hear of the craft departing like a “spark off of a grinding wheel.” In other cases, we read of UFOs accelerating with “fantastic speed”, without generating a sonic boom. Could there be a “down to earth explanation” to these flight characteristics? As an aircraft reaches supersonic speeds, it creates shock waves, and a tremendous amount of aerodynamic heat builds up on its surface. To combat this heating, the space shuttle orbiter uses thermal resistant tiles throughout its entire airframe. However, this approach could only be considered a “band-aid” fix at best. In 1967, the Norair Division of Northrop began experimenting with highly charged electrostatic fields on a metal test probe. The results of these studies concluded that an aircraft’s “sonic boom footprint” and could be significantly reduced or eliminated entirely. They also discovered that the problems associated with supersonic heating could also be drastically lowered. Obviously, these breakthroughs could have potentially incredible military applications to advanced aircraft. Now, factor in the billions of dollars spent each year on classified “black” programs, and its entirely within the capability of the American aerospace industry to design built and fly aircraft that could be mistaken for “extraterrestrial” UFOs. It was March 31, 1999, when Colin Saunders and three others were driving along the Old Fosse Way near the village of Monks Kirby when they noticed a group of lights off to the left that was approximately 200 feet in the air. As they got closer, they could see four red light that were at an angle of about 30 degrees. Incredibly, a diamond shaped outline seemed to appear around the lights. At this point, the strange craft tipped up vertically “like an airship or submarine” in slow motion as though it were underwater. By now, the craft had fully materialized into a triangular shape. The surface of the craft appeared to have a dark grey liquid mercury appearance that “rippled” up and down its surface. However, the most interesting feature of the unknown object were multiple “raised box-like sections” that extruded from the top. Mr. Saunders never got a look at the bottom of the vehicle but noticed the identical “box-like” pattern on the bottom of a sketch drawn by one eyewitness of a triangle that was seen in Belgium during 1993. He surmised that this might have been the same or similar series of craft. Could these unique features be part of a “heat sink” or cooling apparatus similar to the mechanical “tubes, pipes and cylinders” which were seen on the bottom of the Belgium triangle between 1989-1990? Starting in November of 1989, thousands of eyewitnesses in Belgium began seeing triangular shaped UFOs that appeared to hover over the town of Eupen. These witnesses included multiple gendarmes (national police). The triangular craft were described as being “as big as a football field,” and having a bright spotlight at each corner, with an amber colored light in the center. The UFOs were reported to be flying slowly silently over rooftops, and beaming high-intensity searchlights onto the ground. Later, on March 30, 1990, two Belgian F-16s were scrambled to intercept the unknown aircraft. The object was confirmed to be a “hard target” by at least three ground-based radar stations, and two onboard radars within the fighter aircraft which came within 12 miles of the UFO. According to a military official, these UFOs “exceeded the limits of conventional aviation.” In a highly publicized press conference, Belgian Air Force Col. Wilfred De Brouwer stated that the UFO dived from 10,000 to 4,000 feet in two seconds (equivalent to 40 G’s), and accelerated from 600 to 1,100 mph at the same time. The bottom surface of the craft appeared to have a very mechanical looking configuration which included tubes, pipes, cylinders and crisscross effects. As mentioned earlier in this report, these may be associated with the cooling of a superconductor or rotating plasma. Could this have been an extraterrestrial spacecraft? According to a police officer (Brig. Heinrich Nicholl) who saw the craft over Eupen, he assessed that the craft was a “very sophisticated and ultra-secret military project.” Students of this line research will recall the comments of the late Ben Rich who stated in 1995 that “we have things out in the desert that are 50 years beyond what you can comprehend.” Obviously well within the time-frame of the Belgium Triangle sightings of 1989- 1990. The following short note was sent to the Center for UFO Studies and addressed to Dr. J. Allen Hynek almost two decades after he passed on April 27, 1986. It has been reproduced in this report for the very first time.
1/17/05
Mr. Hynek,
Dear Sir,
I don’t know what this ship is, but I was in the Navy, and I have never in my life ever seen anything as this. The government knows more than they say they know, I’m sure. The American public knows it’s the truth, and we as a nation will keep fighting for our right to know. Some of us already know, even at Roswell and Area 51, where the truth is out there. I will never forget what I saw and heard that night. I know of someone else who saw it as well.
Yours Truly,
Respectfully submitted,
M.M.

Author’s special note:
During my three-year investigation of the over 60,000 UFO cases which comprise the CUFOS (Center for UFO Studies) archives, I uncovered many incidents which included a detailed report, and a sketch drawn by the primary eyewitness. Some of these cases had been buried for up to 30 years, and have never seen the light of day. One such example dated January 17, 2005, referenced a sighting of a massive triangular UFO which was seen on March 5, 2003, at 9:50 P.M. in Helena Missouri. The witness described an encounter with a gigantic superstructure looking triangular craft that measured approximately one football field in length, and about two stories high. The sighting lasted about 10 minutes and occurred off the front porch of his house. According to the witness, as the craft flew overhead, it “made pictures fall off the living room wall, and shook the whole house.” The unusual UFO featured a large “fluorescent” light on the bottom that intermittently flashed every 15 seconds. Near the end of each corner, a bright steady light was also observed.
The entire craft appeared to be covered with a “glass frame,” which may have been some type of transparent panels. He also described a “walkway” complete with a “railing.” In addition, the primary eyewitness stressed multiple times that the craft was made of what he termed “rusty looking old bridge steel.” The structural configuration of craft appeared similar to the criss-cross bracing found on the supporting towers of the George Washington Bridge which spans the Hudson River and is located between New York and New Jersey. He also clearly described seeing “rivets from an old bridge” which appeared to be used to fasten the entire craft together. Although the witness stated the craft was “not from this world,” a careful examination of his original sketch points to an earthly origin. The crossbeam and girder construction, in conjunction with regularly spaced “rusty rivets” is clear evidence of human-made technology. In addition, the use of a “walkway,” glass frame, and flashing lights support an earthly explanation. Of particular note is the fact that a French fighter pilot over Europe also saw a similar craft exhibiting triangular superstructure on the night of November 5, 1990, as highlighted on page 290 of Timothy Good’s book: Earth, an Alien Enterprise.

Monique O’Driscoll was driving home near Kent NY on the night of February 26, 1983, when her daughter who was with her noticed some strange lights on a nearby hill. The lights appeared to be hovering, but then started moving to the east at about 15 mph. By now, Monique could discern that the lights were connected to some type wing shaped dark mass. The lights were very bright and appeared to be red, white, blue and yellow. The unknown object then moved towards the vicinity of White Pond, and Monique stepped on the accelerator to catch up with it. When they arrived at the pond which was frozen at the time, Monique stopped her vehicle and noticed through her windshield that the craft passed directly over her car. At this point, she saw that the lights on the craft appeared to be flashing in sequence up and down its “wings.” It then moved over an area of the pond about 200 feet from shore. It was hovering no more than 30 feet high, and Monique could see the brilliantly flashing lights reflecting off the frozen pond below.
She also noticed that the craft was entirely silent, and stated that she could see “the underbelly part. It’s solid. It had metal-type work, like cross-beams and tubular things hanging down here and there. I was so close I could’ve thrown a ball and hit it.” This author also uncovered a rare letter from well-known researcher and lecturer Stanton Friedman which is worth highlighting in part. “I have always been bothered by the Westchester County sightings because I never heard of actions that would label the technology alien. Wings in outer space could only be decoration, but do of course match an earthling approach.” (Source: Reporter Dispatch White Plains NY September 11, 1983, Philadelphia Inquirer September 28, 1984, Letter from Stanton Friedman to Tony Gonsalves January 17, 1990)

On the night of March 24, 1983, hundreds of motorists driving along the Taconic State Parkway (NY) observed a massive “V” or boomerang shaped craft. Drivers pulled off to the side of the road, slammed on their brakes, and got out of their vehicles to observed the unknown object which was hovering silently at tree-top level. The craft appeared to be making a “zig-zag” flight path as it headed north towards Yorktown Heights. Multiple witnesses described seeing a powerful white spotlight beaming down from the craft to the cars below. The mysterious craft seen making 180 degree flat turns without banking. Others who were directly below the object stated that they could see “pipes, beams or cylinders” on its lower surface. In addition, multiple witnesses reported seeing what looked like “transparent panels” revealing an interior mechanical structure resembling the crossbeam and girder construction similar to that of a truss bridge. (Source: Patent Trader Mt. Kisco NY March 25, 1983, Reporter Dispatch White Plains NY September 11, 1983, Danbury Item Port Chester NY March 26, 1983)
What did the over 25,000 eyewitnesses observe during the Hudson Valley Boomerang wave of 1982-1989? Did they see an “alien” spacecraft or something that was built by the U.S. Navy? It’s interesting to note that the March 24, 1983 sighting took place exactly 24 hours after President Ronald Reagan give his address to the nation outlining his plans for the so-called “Star Wars” or SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative). Could there be a connection? During the Reagan era (1981-1989), multiple black programs excelled and became operational. One of these could have been a mobile airborne relocatable over-the-horizon radar system which was designed to track and monitor incoming Soviet ICBMs. This system would be completely impervious to a Russian missile attack, and addresses virtually all of the flight characteristics observed by witnesses of the Hudson Valley UFO wave. It’s time for the field of Ufology to overcome its “UFO bias” and carefully examine every possible earthly explanation before concluding that a UFO is extraterrestrial in origin.

Nobody said it was aliens...
MIKE MCRAE
As we celebrate 2000 days of Curiosity's exploration, we should remember it's just one of an army of robotic eyes throughout space exploration history.
You'd think NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) has seen everything there is to see on the Martian surface in the 12 years it's orbited our nearest neighbour, but a snapshot taken over the planet's South Pole last year revealed something NASA scientists couldn't explain.
While the planet's entire surface is pocked with various depressions and craters, a vast pit spotted among the "Swiss cheese terrain" of melting frozen carbon dioxide appeared to be a bit deeper than your average hole, leaving astronomers to try and figure out what made it.
Occasionally the MRO will come across an odd feature that poses a fun mystery to solve, such as this shallow, circular depression seen earlier last year.
But there's nothing so shallow about this pit. Just take a look at it:
NASA/JPL-Caltech/Univ. of Arizona
Being summer for Mars' South Pole, the Sun was low enough in the sky to accentuate shadows over the landscape, making subtle features pop right out. Yet a few rays of light were still able to reveal ice at the bottom of the hole.
Surrounding the pit patches frozen carbon dioxide could be seen. The circles in the ice were thought to be where the dry ice had sublimated into gas in the summer sunshine, leaving what astronomers have called "Swiss Cheese terrain".
The image was taken using the MRO's High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment, or HiRISE camera, which allows researchers to see objects on Mars that are larger than one metre (about 3 feet) in size from about 200 to 400 kilometres (about 125 to 250 miles) above.
That means the pit isn't tiny – at 50 centimetres (19.7 inches) per pixel, we're looking at a feature hundreds of metres across. Take a look on NASA's website for a hi-res version of the image.
So the question is, did something punch its way through, or is it a collapse of some sort?
Without more information, it's been hard to tell, but no doubt NASA are still whittling down the possibilities.
The MRO has been in Martian orbit since March, 2006, sending back detailed images of the Red Planet's surface that reveal a dynamic environment where dust devils roam, sand dunes crawl, and occasional bits of Earthling tech are left to gather dust.
After completing all of its primary goals in the first two years, and two mission extensions, the orbiter is still going strong – we'll almost certainly be seeing more odd holes like this in the future.
