It was believed in ancient and medieval times that aether, also commonly spelled ether, was a mysterious material that filled the region of the cosmos above the terrestrial sphere.
It was a mysterious element, and the concept of ether was used to describe a number of natural phenomena, including light and how it traveled, as well as gravity.
What Is Aether, The Legendary Fifth Element?
It was believed in the past that aether was one of the primordial elements of the cosmos. In fact, in the late nineteenth century, scientists postulated that aether permeated all throughout space, allowing a medium through which light traveled in the vacuum.
However, later experiments failed to prove this.
In ancient Greek mythology, Ether was referred to as the pure essence that the gods breathed, filling the space where they lived, analogous to the air breathed by mortals.
Plato makes mention of Aether in his work as well.
If we take a look at Timaeus—where Plato mentions the existence of Atlantis—the Greek philosopher speaks about air and explains that “there is the most translucent kind which is called by the name of aether (αίθηρ)”
The term appears both in Aristotelian physics and in the old electromagnetic theory of the late nineteenth century.
For Aristotle (384-322 BC) the ether was the material of which the so-called supralunar world was composed, while the sublunary world is made up of the known four elements: earth, water, air, and fire.
Unlike these, ether was, for Aristotle, a more subtle and lighter element, more perfect than the other four (Aristotle’s physics is qualitative, rather than quantitative) and, above all, its natural movement is circular, unlike the natural movement of the other four, which is rectilinear.
The element was also mentioned in Ancient Hindu philosophy.
In India, the ether is known as akasha. In Sankhya cosmology, the pañcha mahā bhūta (five main elements) is spoken of, each one eight times more subtle than the previous one: Earth (bhumi) Water (apu). Fire (agní). Air (vāyu). Ether (ākāśa). Samkhya or Sankhya is one of the six āstikaschools of Hindu philosophy, mostly related to the Yoga school of Hinduism.
Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest minds to ever live on Earth, also made reference to Aether saying: “All matter comes from a primary substance, the luminiferous ether”.
It was widely disseminated in China and India, where it forms the basis of both Buddhism and Hinduism.
During the Middle Ages the term aether, precisely because it is the fifth material element recognized by Aristotle, began to be called the fifth element, or also qüinta essentia, from which comes the expression quintessence (used in the current cosmology to refer to dark energy).
Aether was also heavily connected to Gravitation.
In fact, it was used in one of Sir Isaac Newton’s first published theories of gravitation, called the Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (the Principia). In his work, Sir Isaac Newton based the entire description of planetary motion on a theoretical law of dynamic interactions. As noted in “Newton’s views on Aether and Gravitation,” Newton renounced standing attempts at accounting for this particular form of interaction between distant bodies by introducing a mechanism of propagation through an intervening medium and called this intervening medium the Aether.
In addition, Newton describes aether as a medium that “flows” continually downward toward the Earth’s surface and is partially absorbed and partially diffused. This “circulation” of aether is what he associated the force of gravity with to help explain the action of gravity in a non-mechanical fashion.
Leave it to Richard Branson to find motivation to go to the gym in traveling to space. On Tuesday, a ship from Brason’s space flight company, Virgin Galactic, achieved supersonic speed in a test run for the second time. To Branson, that means the first passenger flight to the edge of the atmosphere is coming soon. He plans to be aboard, and has been cycling and playing tennis to prepare, as he told the Washington Post.
Branson’s exercise regimen might seem a bit premature. But the truth is that future space tourists will need to be fit enough to handle space, too.
Ripping through the atmosphere at twice the speed of sound, as Virgin Galactic plans to, puts a lot of pressure on the body. Zero gravity does the exact opposite. According to NASA, without gravity’s constant pressure, young, healthy astronauts lose bone density. And they lose it fast — 12 times faster in space than elderly adults do on Earth — making their bones very brittle, risking breaks when they’re back on their home planet. Since it takes no effort to move around in space, muscles —including your heart — don’t have to work as hard, so they weaken.
To counteract those and a bunch of other health effects, NASA puts their recruits through workouts before, during, and after space flight. They won’t even work with candidates if they don’t meet fitness requirements. NASA only considers applicants with blood pressure under 140/90 (just two thirds of Americans have blood pressure that low). Within the first month of training, candidates have to swim 75 meters without stopping, and then swim that distance again, but in 280-pound flight suit and shoes. It’s a delicate balance however, because astronauts can’t be too ripped — the European Space Agency (ESA) says that overly-muscular individuals could actually have problems in space (though they don’t explain why), so the agency’s training regimens aim to put trainees in better shape than most people their age.
Both NASA and ESA have stricter health protocols than anything commercial operations are likely to have. According to Bloomberg, George Nield, the associate administrator for commercial space transportation at the Federal Aviation Administration said at the 2017 Space Commerce Conference, “It’s really up to the company for what kind of screening they want to have.” And it’s possible private space flight companies won’t be too particular about medical standards for passengers. The brands have stayed pretty mute on the topic so far: only SpaceX mentioned the need for Dragon’s crew to pass fitness standards.
Even if Branson’s company hasn’t communicated health requirements to customers with pre-purchased tickets, he’s clearly taking fitness for space travel seriously (he is also twice the age of the ESA’s ideal candidate). We all might have a while to train — the billionaire has been saying the maiden voyage is “18 months away” for a literal decade. With all that tennis training, he might get to the U.S. Open before he gets to the edge of space.

The UFO that evaded Navy fighter jets in 2004.
The discovery late last year of a secret Pentagon UFO program that ran from 2007 to 2012 brought to light an incident between two Navy F/A-18F fighter jets and an unidentified flying object in 2004. The fighter jets encountered the UFO while stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz off of the coast of San Diego, California, and the event was recorded by the jets' forward facing targeting cameras.
While the video was released months ago, details of the encounter have been scant; at least until recently.
Journalist George Knapp reported earlier this month that he was able to acquire an in-depth government report of the incident "prepared by and for the military."
According to the report, between approximately November 10-16, 2004, as the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG) was preparing for deployment, the USS Princeton "on several occasions detected multiple Anomalous Aerial Vehicles (AAVs) operating in and around the vicinity of the CSG."
These AAVs would perform maneuvers unlike any with which the military pilots were familiar, including descending from "approximately 60,000 feet down to approximately 50 feet in a matter of seconds."
"[The objects] would then hover or stay stationary on the radar for a short time and depart at high velocities and turn rates," stated the document.
The craft that appeared on the above video was reported to be "an elongated egg or a 'Tic Tac' shape with a discernible midline horizontal axis," and was "solid white, smooth, with no edges...uniformly colored with no nacelles, pylons, or wings."
The report listed the object's size as approximately 46 feet in length.
Knapp stated that the document was obtained during a trip to Washington D.C. earlier this year.
"Earlier this year, we made a whirlwind trip to Washington for a debriefing arranged by former Senator Harry Reid," Knapp said. "While in D.C., [we] obtained copies of unclassified documents related to the UFO encounters, including the [above incident]."
According to Knapp, the document has been verified as authentic, despite lacking a date or any official seal marking it as a military document.
"The analysis report is not dated and has no logo, but four separate people who are familiar with its contents confirmed to [us] it is the real deal and was written as part of a Pentagon program," he said.
The full document Knapp received is available to be viewedhere, although the names of the pilots involved have been redacted.
Dr. Jacques Vallee’s presentation for Contact in the Desert 2017 has just been uploaded to Youtube. Here’s your chance to listen him describe the things he’s uncovered over the years by analyzing metal samples allegedly ejected by UFOs, which have been recovered all around the world, and how the chemical composition of these materials seriously challenge all of our preconceptions with regards to the popularly-assumed extraterrestrial nature of these objects:

Some of these metal materials are seen to contain trace levels of elements (and isotope of said elements) which no man-made or terrestrial metals would be expected to contain. Are these contaminants or purposefully introduced (i.e. engineered)?
The technical analysis needs to be expanded through the use of several instruments to arrive at more precise composition levels –no analysis from a single instrument or method is fully reliable.
An aggressive program or search for additional samples needs to be conducted in order to reach a general picture of the entire problem.
These are very important aspects to consider, because in the end Vallee is being very frank about the stage in which this kind of research currently finds itself, which is one of total ignorance with regards to WHY the isotopic ratio of these metal alloys would be so different from regular terrestrial samples, or even samples of known extraterrestrial origin (e.g. a meteorite). Does it have to do with the propulsion system of the craft, possible stealth capabilities or the way the metal would handle extreme conditions like radiation or anti-gravity conditions? He and his colleagues just don’t know. They are only certain of one thing, and that is that with our current state of technology in the XXIst century –and bear in mind some of these samples were retrieved in the 1950s– it would cost trillions of dollars just to produce 1 cubic centimeter of metal, re-engineered with the kind of isotopic levels they have observed in the lab, because it would mean artificially separating the isotopes and recombining them to different ratios.
“Unless somebody has an absolutely magical technology to do that”, as he concludes, such a feat would be virtually impossible. Of course, to someone like me the mention of ‘magical technology’ and ‘impossible metal compositions’ inevitably leads me to one of the most ancient scientific tradition of mankind: Alchemy.
Dr. Vallee explained his ulterior motive for giving this presentation –as well as going into radio and podcast interviews like the one I was a part of last year— is so he can get his hands on many more sample materials, which presumably are in the hands of anonymous close encounter witnesses, UFO researchers or their descendants. He also refers to the (in)famous Roswell crash and how he doesn’t have any access to the materials from those type of cases, which might or might not have been retrieved by the government. This made me think of Diana Walsh Pasulka’s upcoming book American Cosmic, in which she describes how she was approached by anonymous higher-ups in the tech/private industry who took her to an alleged crash site of a UFO on some undisclosed location in New Mexico; Diana is a social scientist and has not engineering background, so why is it that these people don’t contact someone like Vallee first, and take him to see these UFO samples instead??
Oh, and another thing I found curious: Right at the beginning of the video and before jumping into the meat of his exposition, Vallee briefly mentions the ‘rumors’ regarding how the government has given these type of materials to “some aerospace company.” Given how this presentation was given in June of 2017, which was 4 monthsbefore the launch of Tom Delonge’s TTS/AAS initiative –and 6 months beforethe surprising revelation of the Pentagon UFO program by the New York Times, in which Robert Bigelow’s involvement was acknowledged— one wonders if Dr. Vallee had one particular ‘aerospace company’ in mind when he made that cryptic comment…
[UPDATE]: Somebody over Twitter brought to my attention this interview with Dr. Garry Nolan, who is a Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Stanford University, and also a member of the advisory board for the To The Stars Academy.
Before that, Dr. Nolan was involved in Dr. Steven Greer’s Sirius Project and was in charge with the DNA study of the controversial ‘Ata’ mummy, which eventually confirmed it was nothing but a human fetus suffering from a number of genetic malformations –most likely an illegal abortion.
In this Q&A session Nolan confirms he has collaborated with Vallee on the isotope study of the alleged UFO metal samples, which he calls ‘meta-materials’:
People interested in understanding the reality of what’s going on with these metamaterials (so-called alloys) need to understand this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isotope . There are 253 isotopes that do not undergo radioactive decay in any reasonable time frame. This page has a table of nuclides where the grey boxes denote the 253 stable isotopes. Some elements, such as aluminum, have only 1 stable isotope. Titanium and nickel each have 5 stable isotopes. Tin (Sn) has eight! There are natural ratios of these isotopes that are largely governed by stellar decay processes, centrifugal forces (solar and other) during planetary formation, and proximity to gamma and other radiation sources. The ratios vary only slightly (maximum a couple percent) across a solar system. Significant variations in isotope ratios imply either engineering of the ratios for a purpose, or that the materials came from somewhere that does not “play by our rules”.
This is an interest addition to the To the Stars puzzle, since it confirms that people involved with TTS/AAS have been directly involved with Vallee’s efforts to study these materials. However, it does NOT necessarily mean Vallee himself is associated with DeLonge; for starters on numerous occasions Jacques has emphatically denied any involvement with To the Stars –and I for one I’m willing to take his word for it. I think the answer is simply that one of Dr. Vallee’s previous collaborator in the study of the UFO samples was professor Peter Sturrock –whom he mentioned on his CITD presentation and was an eminent physicist working at Stanford– and after Sturrock retired perhaps he referred Vallee to Nolan, a young colleague from the same university with a shared interest in the UFO phenomenon.
In 2016, an animated Neil deGrasse Tyson ate a bowl of pasta on the Cartoon Network’s Regular Show to illustrate what it looks like when a “spaghettified” star gets sucked into a supermassive black hole. It was not the most accurate depiction of what astrophysicists call a “tidal disruption event,” but it did capture the powerful, slurping horror of the black hole’s event horizon. A far more scientific description of the same event is described in an Astrophysical Journal Letters article, published Wednesday.
The scientists who wrote the paper, led by University of Copenhagen astrophysicist Lixin Dai, Ph.D., reveal what actually happens to a star as it gets devoured by a black hole using a new, “unified” computer model. Astrophysicists have plenty of data about black holes — observations about X-ray emissions, visible light, gas, and UV rays — but the new model is one of the first to put all of those pieces together in a consistent way. Having a model like this is important because, as the authors point out, our snapshots of black holes are not always taken from the ideal angle — and there’s often more to those pictures than meets the eye. Now they can feed data into the model to uncover the details they can’t see.
As the model came together, it became very clear that supermassive black holes eat stars in a fairly predictable way. Through the model-generated diagram below, the authors of the paper explain what actually happens to the star as it approaches the black hole’s “event horizon,” which is essentially the edge of its gaping maw. The black hole is shown as a black hole.

First, the star begins disintegrating into a disk of debris called an “accretion disk” because the black hole’s gravitational field is so strong. The black hole eats up all the debris (the slim part of the orange-yellow gradient), and once that debris enters the black hole, it gets “spaghettified” — stretched vertically and compressed horizontally into noodle-y streams of atoms — and slurped up.
However, the black hole can become “overfed,” so some stellar debris hangs out around the mouth of the black hole, not unlike crumbs left over on a facial beard (the fat part of the disk). These crumbs are important, because they’re what we can see from Earth: The process of getting sucked up is a hot one, and as the debris heats up, it emits light and radiation (shown as a double-headed arrow in the image), which we can detect from Earth. Now, even though our snapshots of black holes might show us only some of that crumb radiation, we can use the model to understand how big the mess actually is.
The red flare represents infrared radiation coming from the "crumbs' leftover from a black hole's star-filled meal.
As theoretical astrophysicist Katie Mack, Ph.D. recently explained on the InversepodcastI Need My Space, black holes are indeed messy eaters. “[Stars] do fall into black holes sometimes and get ripped apart,” she said. “And we can see like bursts of radiation from the vicinity of black holes sometimes from stars being disrupted as they’re falling into black holes. It’s just really neat.”
In a statement released Wednesday, the University of Copenhagen’s Enrico Ramirez-Ruiz, Ph.D., a co-author on the new study, explained why it’s so important that the model can help us visualize a black hole from all sides. “It is like there is a veil that covers part of a beast,” he said. “From some angles we see an exposed beast, but from other angles we see a covered beast. The beast is the same, but our perceptions are different.”
These beasts, as we’ve long known, are hungry ones. And thanks to the new model, we have a better idea of what black holes look like while they’re eating, making them far easier to hunt.

If technologically-advanced alien civilizations are indeed out there, would they be friendly explorers, or destroyers of worlds? According to prominent astrophysicist Lucianne Walkowicz, who works on NASA's Kepler mission, making contact could be catastrophic for the human race: "There's a possibility that if we actively message, with the intention of getting the attention of an intelligent civilization, that the civilization we contact would not necessarily have our best interests in mind."
Now, thanks both to space-based projects like NASA's Kepler Mission, as well as research teams searching with Earth-bound telescopes (such as the one that recently discovered a planet orbiting our neighbor star, Proxima Centauri)," Walkowicz, an astronomer at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago who studies stellar magnetic activity and its influence on planetary habitability using data from NASA's Kepler Mission. wrote in the Scientific American blog, "we know that the Galaxy is awash in planets. There are so many planets, in fact, that when you gaze into the night sky, each star is likely the sun of another world. By and large, these planets are worlds roughly the size of Earth-- a tantalizing hint that, while we have yet to find life elsewhere, the potential real estate abounds."
About the recently discover planet Proxima b orbiting our closest neighboring star, she writes: "We have an example of the kind of environment that might be typical: one lit mostly by soft, infrared light, but also zapped frequently by high energy radiation. Let me tell you: if you ever want to make a room full of Department of Defense employees laugh nervously, tell them the nearest life to Earth might be radiation-hardened aliens who have naturally evolved infrared heat vision." The Kepler astronomer's favorite thought experiment is to "consider the implications of challenging planetary environments on our chances for recognizing— or communicating with— intelligent life beyond our own world. I imagine a universe filled with rocky planets around little red stars, and on days I'm feeling optimistic, I imagine the atmospheres of these worlds have survived. Global oceans protect surface life from the vagaries of stellar irradiation, and intelligent (even technologically advanced) life might be more akin to the dolphins of our own planet. What would the relationship of this underwater life be to the sky, and to its place in space?"
Walkowicz learned to love the dark stellar denizens of our galaxy, the red dwarfs, which became the topic of her PhD dissertation at University of Washington. Today, she works on NASA’s Kepler mission, studying starspots and the tempestuous tantrums of stellar flares to understand stellar magnetic fields. She is particularly interested in how the high energy radiation from stars influences the habitability of planets around alien suns. Lucianne is also a leader in the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, a new project that will scan the sky every night for 10 years to create a huge cosmic movie of our Universe. "It could be something that ends life on Earth, Walkowitz concludes, "and it might be something that accelerates the ability to live quality lives on Earth. We have no way of knowing." But our current searches for intelligent life have pressed onward with only limited time and funding, searching for a relatively conscribed set of specific signals. "While scientists are often loathe to say that we live in a special time," she observed, "in some sense we do: we stand at the dawn of knowing that the universe teems with worlds, but not yet knowing if we are alone. At this moment, we must be keenly cognizant of how far we have to go. Otherwise, our assumptions about the completeness of our search, the universality (or not) of the values we hold, and our inability to communicate even with species we share the same swimming space with, will blind us to the possibilities— and limitations— of what we might come to know about life in the universe."
• An unnamed man related an encounter he had at the beach in Batumi, Georgia on the Black Sea. He was walking along the shoreline when he noticed a saucer-shaped craft under the water. It surfaced and hovered over the water. Then ‘a light’ from the craft pulled him inside the spacecraft where he met tall Grey extraterrestrial beings who spoke to him in English. Among the gadgets and displays on the craft’s console were images of a shark and an octopus. He was told that the Greys take our animals for cloning on their planet.

Conspiracy theory channel ‘Paranormal Elite’ has released a new video, showing a self-proclaimed alien abductee sharing his experiences of meeting extraterrestrial life forms. The man whose name has been kept under the wraps assures that he was abducted by aliens, was inside a UFO spaceship face-to-face with extraterrestrial entities. He also made it clear that aliens are living with us, but most of the time, they will be hidden in the depths of oceans.
According to the alien abductee, this bizarre incident of alien abduction took place when he was on a beach.
“I went to a beach and took off my shoes and started to walk in the water. Suddenly I noticed a light which was shining deep from the water. And I saw something huge coming from the sea. I was later pulled inside a saucer-shaped spaceship,” said the alien abductee in the video.
The alien abductee revealed that these aliens are living underwater, and they are exploring and understanding our oceans.
“I was strong. But I couldn’t even breathe. I was speechless looking at a huge, flat ellipse machine. It was levitating on the water and I felt a light coming from the machine grab me from the ground and took me to the spaceship. When I was inside it, plenty of gadgets and different displays were there. I found pictures of sharks and octopuses, and I believe they are exploring and understanding our oceans,” added the alien abductee.

Another YouTube user 'Something Remarkable' commented that he believes in the words of this alien abductee.
However, another user Anshu Pandey remained skeptical and asked how many days has this man spent to frame fictitious stories like these.

NEW GEOGLYPHS DISCOVERED IN PERU ARE OLDER THAN THE NAZCA LINES
Lesser known than the Nazca Lines, the emblematic Palpa Lines are much older and are located in an area that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994.
The hillsides of Palpa in Peru were intricately decorated by pre-Columbian civilizations, which drew thousands of geoglyphs in the area: and recently, five of them have been recovered by experts.
The Palpa Lines are older than the Nazca lines.
Since November of 2017, a group of archaeologists from the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Ica has been busy returning the splendor to the mythical geoglyphs that in recent years had been vandalized by those who walked near or on the hillsides, destroying ancient art that dates back thousands of years, reports El Comercio.
“We continue to find more geoglyphs, which reveals that this whole area was a great ‘loom’ in which the Paracas have been drawing on the desert hillsides throughout thousands of years,” said the Minister of Culture of Peru, Patricia Balbuena, who recently visited more than 50 new lines that have been discovered by experts.
Unlike the Nazca lines, you can see the Palpa lines without the need to be in the air
One of the advantages of the Palpa Lines is that many of the ancient geoglyphs can be seen without the need to fly over them, as with the Nazca Lines.
However, for the registration process, the scientists used drones that recorded images from thirty meters above the lines.
The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, National Geographic and the Sustainable Preservation Initiative (SPI) facilitated the exploration equipment used by the specialists of the Management System for the Cultural Heritage of Nazca and Palpa.
According to the archaeologist Johny Isla Cuadrado, it is one of the “most complete” documentation carried out in the area.
Ancient geoglyphs, older than the Nazca lines

It is presumed that the Palpa Lines were made by the cultures of Paracas and Topará between 500 BC and the beginning of our era, which makes them much older than the Nazca Lines, which were made between the beginning of this era and 650 AD.
The recent discovery is good news for the tourism industry of the country, which welcomes thousands of tourists which travel to Peru eagerly to finally see the Nazca lines up and close.
Now, with the Palpa Lines, the possibilities of developing the sector are even wider.
“Since we finished the restoration of the Pala Lines, more planes arrive to fly over this area. The airlines are offering wider overflights,” Isla told El Comercio.
However, the Ministry of Culture has emphasized the need to respect the rules for the observation of Peru’s heritage and has ordered to reinforce the custody in the archaeological zone to prevent its depredation.
“We knew about the Nazca people, but we did not know that the Paracas, 500 years before them, had worked in this area.”
“Many of the discovered figures were hidden, covered and at risk because the place was used by motorcycle taxi drivers to cross the Pan-American highway,” said Minister Balbuena, quoted by the newspaper La República.
Experts say that the Palpa lines show anthropomorphic and figurative features: an orca, a monkey, a dancer, a pelican.
This fact has awakened the interest of the scientists to determine what use they had for the pre-Columbian civilizations, considering that it is believed that the geometric forms embodied in Nazca were an offering to the gods for the rains in the desert area.

270 years since the remains of the ancient city of Pompeii were first discovered, archaeologists continue to make incredible discoveries that help understand the history and faith of an ancient city devoured by a Volcanic eruption.
Pompeii was a city of Ancient Rome located along with Herculaneum and other smaller places in the region of Campania, near the modern city of Naples.
It was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Its inhabitants died due to the pyroclastic flow. In its vicinity rises the modern city of Pompeii.
Archaeologists believe that the town was founded in the 7th or 6th century BC by the Osci or Oscans. It was ruled by Rome in the 4th century BC and was conquered and became a Roman colony in 80 BC after it joined an unsuccessful rebellion against the Roman Republic.
By the time of its destruction, 160 years later, its population was estimated at 11,000 people, and the city had a complex water system, an Amphitheatre, a gymnasium, and a port.
Now, we are seeing more news about Pompeii than ever before.
Current archaeological excavations in Regio V, in the northern area of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, the most important in an unexplored area of the ancient city since the postwar period, have brought to light a new wonder: the House of the Dolphins, an elegant Pompeian residence with brightly colored frescoes, which resisted the violent eruption of Vesuvius in the summer of 79 AD. The House of Dolphins probably belonged to an upper-class Roman family in ancient Pompeii.
The House of Dolphins was discovered just a few days after an alleyway of grand houses with mostly intact balconies was found by archaeologists nearby.
Earlier this months, a number of newspapers reported that in the northern parts of Pompeii, archaeologists were working on excavating an entirely new area of the city that had never before been studied.
Using lasers and drones, experts explained that they were hopeful that these modern tools would help them reconstruct the Regio V area so that tourists in the near future could explore it.
Regio V is one of the most densely urbanized areas of Pompeii, currently subject to the excavation and study of archaeologists.
In addition to discovering a number of Dolphin drawings, the house’s frescoes also show several other fish and a number of birds, including a peacock, a partridge, and a parrot.
Deer and mythical creatures are also depicted, making the ‘house of Dolphins’ a unique and refreshing discovery at Pompeii.
Today, Pompeii is one of the most popular attractions for visitors to Italy and has UNESCO World Heritage status.

NASA’s melted camera became a social media phenomenon last week. Here’s the story behind the picture.

On May 22, 2018, NASA photographer Bill Ingalls, who has has been shooting for the agency for 30 years, set up cameras near the SpaceX rocket launchpad at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The remote cameras are designed to automatically snap images when they detect the thunderous roar of the rocket blasting off.
I had six remotes, two outside the launch pad safety perimeter and four inside. Unfortunately, the launch started a grass fire that toasted one of the cameras outside the perimeter.

Once the fire reached the camera, the body started to melt. When Ingalls returned to the site, firefighters were waiting to greet him. Even though the camera was destroyed, Ingalls forced it open to see if its memory card could be salvaged. It could, and here’s what it showed:

Ironically, the four cameras set up inside the perimeter were undamaged, as was the other remote. The damaged camera was one of the farthest from the pad, a quarter of a mile (.4 km) away.
The “toasty” camera, as Ingalls calls it, is probably headed for display somewhere at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
This UFO was filmed on the 27th of May, 2018. It was filmed in Bolzano, Italy. The object was moving along side the mountain ridge, but it did not make any sound. Somebody staying in a nearby hotel got up early in the morning and was able to shoot this amazing footage.

The former Canadian defense minister has just revealed that the government in the USA knew that aliens had visited Earth to give a warning about where the planet was heading along with offering to help. However, the government issued a “shoot first and ask questions later” order as the aliens were seen as a threat.
Aliens Have Been Visiting Earth For Decades
The official quote was “Decades ago, visitors from other planets warned us about where we were headed and offered to help. But instead, we, or at least some of us, interpreted their visits as a threat, and decided to shoot first and ask questions after.”
The fact that there has been official disclosure of UFOs is huge but then researchers of the phenomenon have said that they saw it coming. It was said that they had experienced campaigns of ridicule and secrecy about the phenomenon for many years. The government has been responsible for the many foolish articles that appeared constantly in publications, articles that were ridiculed, when in fact, the topic of those articles does actually exist and the government knew about it.
Today those who believe in UFOs are not ridiculed as much as they used to be. This should have raised some eyebrows as it is not very often that mainstream media will share the truth, more so when the subject it one of the most secretive in the world.
Mainstream Media is Controlled By A Small Group of People
Most of the mainstream media is under the control of a small group of people and it has been made abundantly clear that through declassified documents and whistleblowers. The intelligence agencies enjoy a relationship that is very close with just about every major wire service, TV network and newspaper and this has ensured that some of the intelligence failure stories have become intelligence success stories, along with helping to determine the accuracy of many others.
Amber Lyon, Sharyl Attkisson, and Dr. Udo Ulfkotte along with others, have given numerous examples of just what it is like to work in a media organization dominated by the government and deep state interests. This is one of the reasons why mainstream UFO disclosure has been questionable.
Military Said Objects in Our Atmosphere Are Technically More Advanced Than Anything on Earth
UFO phenomenon has been obvious to those who looked into it when taken from the research perspective. There has been a lot of research to show that UFOs are in fact real and the Former Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Hill Norton, said that objects in the atmosphere have been seen which are technically more advanced than anything they could deploy.
The MK-Ultra program was hidden away from the public for many years until evidence of it became blatantly obvious the government had no other choice but to disclose it. The same thing is now happening with UFOs. There have been numerous witness testimonies that have been credible along with documents that have been released through the Freedom of Information Act. Now the Pentagon has admitted to there being a UFO program does this mean that UFOs have finally being disclosed. Could it simply be a clever way to release information to conceal information that is even more important?
Is The Government Still Hiding Something?
Historian Richard Dolan, who is one of the most prominent UFO thinkers and researchers, said, “Why is the mainstream covering this story the way they are? I have been saying for years that the mainstream media, the establishment media, will never cover the UFO subject in a serious way that is until they would be absolutely pushed to the wall and then do something…So the question is, what is going on here? If they are the voice of the establishment (mainstream media), then why have the establishment elected to put this story out? “
“I’m not aware of any effort within the established media to follow up on this (pieces of the UFOs) and to find out…where this comes from…I mean nothing…So, it’s five months later, and we’re clearly not dealing with a serious effort by the mainstream media, for that reason alone…I have had information now, from a very good source, that, what they’ve recovered aren’t metal alloys, that they’re being described as meta-materials…a very different thing….The individual that I spoke with, about where did that phrase metal alloy come, did it come Luis Elizondo I was told no it did not come from him.” – Richard Dolan
Richard explained further and said that it could be a small tidbit of the truth, which the government wants us to believe, is the whole truth. It does bring some key things that the mainstream media seems to have ignored about the recent disclosure of UFOs. Dolan said, “The best way to keep a secret is you pretend to share it, you give some information out, some genuine information, which they did, there were some significant revelations here, significant admissions, and much that was not followed up.”
He went on to make an important point, there has not been any follow up about the alleged possession of materials that were recovered from the UFO. Dr. Edgar Mitchell and Apollo 14 astronaut said, “Yes there has been crashed craft, and bodies recovered. We are not alone in the universe; they have been coming here for a long time. I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet, and the UFO phenomenon is real.”
Alloys Collected From Crashed UFO Had Amazing Properties
Apparently, alloys were collected from the crashed UFO and studied by scientists and they revealed that it was a compound they did not recognize and it had amazing properties. The material was said to have strange isotopic values, which gave an indication that it did not come from Earth.
A statement from former special assistant to the Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Victor Marchetti, does not seem to hold any truth anymore. He said, “We have, indeed, been contacted — perhaps even visited — by extra-terrestrial beings, and the US government, in collusion with the other national powers of the Earth, is determined to keep this information from the general public.”
It seems that finally, the truth has been revealed and the public has confirmation of something they believed to be true all along.

Many authors associate him with the Greek God Hermes, as well as the Egyptian God Thoth. Thoth, for example, was heavily associated with knowledge. In Egyptian mythology, Toth plaid a crucial role in maintaining order in the cosmos. Thoth was heavily associated with magic, writing, and the development of science.
In ancient Greek mythology, Hermes was referred to as the God of Religion and mythology. He was often portrayed as the emissary and messenger of the Gods. Hermes is identified with the Roman god Mercury.
An Egyptian Link
Hermes Trismegistus is often mentioned in occult literature as an Egyptian sage, parallel to the god Toth who created alchemy and developed a system of metaphysical beliefs that are today known as hermeticism.
For a number of medieval thinkers, Hermes Trismegistus was a pagan prophet who announced the advent of Christianity.

This is the translation of the Emerald Tablet by Isaac Newton. It was discovered among his alchemical papers that are currently housed in King’s College Library, Cambridge University.
Tis true without lying, certain & most true. That which is below is like that which is above & that which is above is like that which is below to do the miracles of one only thing And as all things have been & arose from one by the mediation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation. The Sun is its father, the moon its mother, the wind hath carried it in its belly, the earth is its nurse. The father of all perfection in the whole world is here. Its force or power is entire if it be converted into earth. Separate thou the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross sweetly with great industry. It ascends from the earth to the heaven & again it descends to the earth & receives the force of things superior & inferior. Philosophy is also heavily linked to Hermes Trismegistus.
However, due to the lack of conclusive evidence about its existence, the historical figure has been built fictitiously from the Middle Ages to the present, especially from the resurgence of esotericism.
European alchemists highly regarded the Emerald Tablet as the foundation of their art and its Hermetic tradition.
According to ancient Egyptian beliefs, the gods ruled ancient Egypt before mortal pharaohs. These Gods eventually civilized mortal rules passing their knowledge onto them.
The Egyptian god Thoth was the god of wisdom and the patron of magicians. He was also the guardian and clerk of the records that contained the knowledge of the gods.
Clement of Alexandria estimated that the Egyptians possessed forty-two sacred writings, which contained all the teachings of the Egyptian priests. Clement of Alexandria was a Christian theologian who taught at the Catechetical School of Alexandria.
Hermes Trismegistus was eventually credited with tens of thousands of writings, which were reputed to be of immense antiquity. For example, Plato’s Timaeus and Critias describe that in the temple of Neith at Sais one could find countless secret halls safeguarding historical records which had been kept there for at least 9,000 years.
The Fusion of two Gods
Eventually, Hermes the Greek God, and Thoth the Egyptian counterpart were combined as one, becoming the patron of Astrology and Alchemy.
The Asclepius and the Corpus Hermeticum are the most important of the Hermetica, the surviving writings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus.
Eventually, during the Renaissance, many scholars came to accept that Hermes Trismegistus was a contemporary of Moses. Eventually, this idea vanished after it was found that Hermetic writings were written no earlier than the second or third century AD.
It is also believed by some authors like Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin that Hermes Trismegistus is the builder of the Pyramids of Giza
Other scholars propose a connection between Hermes Trismegistus. And Prophet Muhammad.
Prophet Muhammad who is believed to have traveled to the heavens on the night of Isra and Mi’raj, may be a direct descendant of Hermes Trismegistus, claim Arab genealogists. Ibn Kathir, a highly influential historian, exegete, and scholar during the Mamluk era in Syria said:
“As for Idris…He is in the genealogical chain of the Prophet Muhammad, except according to one genealogist…Ibn Ishaq says he was the first who wrote with the Pen. There was a span of 380 years between him and the life of Adam. Many of the scholars allege that he was the first to speak about this, and they call him Thrice-Great Hermes [Hermes Trismegistus],” – Ismail ibn Kathir (source).
The Hermetic Corpus
It is commonly believed that the Hermetica are Egyptian-Greek wisdom texts that date back to around the 2nd century AD and even possibly later.
These writings are frequently presented as dialogues in which a teacher, usually identified as Hermes Trismegistus enlightens a disciple. The texts are considered the basis of Hermeticism. They discuss the divine, the cosmos, mind, and nature. Some touch upon alchemy, astrology, and related concepts.
US presidents keep their mouths shut about UFOs. The party line: there’s no such thing, so what’s to talk about? Beneath the secrecy, though, are stories that are stunning and maybe even frightening.
It was the UFO fly-bys over D.C. that forced Truman to act. There were unknown, saucer-shaped craft seen zooming over the White House, the Pentagon, and the Capitol building, and newspaper headlines shouted about the sightings. The public was talking about them; in some newspapers, the front-page UFO stories pushed articles about the Democratic National Convention to page two.
Truman’s response? Out of frustration, he gave the order: “Shoot them down!” Several well-known scientists, including Albert Einstein, heard about the order and urged him to rescind it. Truman did, around the time that the UFO sightings also ceased.
2. DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER: SECRET TREATY WITH ALIENS?
One day, near the start of his presidency, President Eisenhower vanished.
The president had been in Palm Springs, CA at the time, and when no one could find him they feared the worst—heart attack, stroke, or some other dire event. Eisenhower reappeared the next day at a church service. An excuse was given for his absence: he’d needed “emergency dental surgery”, an aide reported, stiffly.
Whispers and rumors started immediately—weird ones. Insiders were leaking a strange story, that the president had rushed to Muroc Air Force Base (now Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California), met with aliens, and signed a treaty with them.
Gordon Duff, senior editor of the veterans organization Veterans Today, says that he’s seen classified documents that outline the agreement. “The 1953 treaty with President Eisenhower was an agreement,” Duff told an interviewer, “a coercive agreement against the USA on behalf of a hostile alien power that wished to be able to kidnap a number of citizens from the United States, which means of course that they had agreements with other nations as well.”
3. JFK: UFOS COULD TRIGGER WAR WITH RUSSIA
There had been a spate of UFO sightings over the Soviet Union, and President John F. Kennedy was downright worried.

It was the height of the Cold War, and JFK was afraid that a UFO over the USSR might be mistaken for a missile—and prompt the Russians to launch missiles of their own.
On November 12, 1963, Kennedy dictated a memo ordering that the US prepare to share sensitive information about UFOs with the USSR, so that there would be no apocalyptic mistakes. The president was shot dead in Dallas a mere 10 days later.
The memo reads: “It would be very helpful if you would have the high threat cases reviewed with the purpose of identification of bona fide as opposed to classified CIA and USAF sources. It is important that we make a clear distinction between the knowns and unknowns in the event the Soviets try to mistake our extended cooperation as a cover for intelligence gathering of their defense and space programs. I would like you to arrange a program of data sharing with NASA where unknowns are a factor.”
4. RICHARD NIXON: THE JACKIE GLEASON INCIDENT
Dick Nixon had some surprising friends—take famous entertainer Jackie Gleason, for example. The two were golfing chums and often chatted about their interest in UFOs, according to Gleason’s wife Beverly. One day in 1973, Nixon slipped away from his Secret Service detail and showed up at Gleason’s house alone. “I want to show you something,” the president told him.
Nixon drove Gleason to Homestead Air Force Base, not far from Gleason’s home in Florida. A security guard, shocked when he recognized the two famous men, waved them through. They entered a heavily guarded building, and Nixon guided them to an inner chamber. There, Gleason was aghast: he was looking at what appeared at first to be “mangled children”. On closer inspection, he realized that they weren’t children—and that they were not human. Gleason told a confidante that he felt very upset that the government was hiding such monumental secrets from the public.
5. JIMMY CARTER: TRUTH-SEEKER REDUCED TO TEARS
He is unique among American presidents: Jimmy Carter has seen a UFO. Years before his presidency, while running for governor of Georgia, Carter and a handful of others witnessed a blueish object floating in the sky.

Carter told an interviewer, “All of a sudden, one of the men looked up and said, ‘Look, over in the west!’ And there was a bright light in the sky. We all saw it. And then the light, it got closer and closer to us … we were trying to figure out what in the world it could be, and then it receded into the distance.”
As president, Carter was keenly interested in what the government was keeping secret about the UFO phenomenon—and so he asked the top secret organization that would have that kind of information. CIA Director George W. Bush (later to be president) denied Carter’s initial requests, but Carter was persistent.
One day, Bush relented; Carter was told the full truth.
Later, the president was seen in the Oval Office, his head in his hands, sobbing quietly. He has never revealed what the CIA divulged to him that day.
On May 22, NASA photographer Bill Ingalls set up his Canon camera to capture footage of the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9. He got the shot, sort of, but not before that very launch ignited a small brush fire that did the poor camera in for good. Although this martyr of rocket photography has closed its shutter for the very last time, we're all fortunate enough to be able to see the footage it died to bring us.
As Ingalls mentioned in a NASA feature on the melted camera, this particular setup was actually outside the safety perimeter for the Falcon launch. At a quarter mile away, it was actually the furthest of all six Ingalls had set up. That distance did nothing to save it when a brush fire started in the vicinity, melting the camera's body but leaving its memory card intact so we could see its last gaze.
The camera is set to be put on display in NASA's Washington DC headquarters. A fitting resting place for a true hero.
The investigative “I-Team” for CBS affiliate KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, NV has brought forward new documents related to the secret Pentagon UFO program first revealed by the New York Times in December. But even stranger than the documents, which delved into theoretical warp drive and extra-dimensional technologies, was the response provided to KLAS-TV by an unnamed “senior manager” within the program, who connected the Pentagon’s UFO program to poltergeists, “invisible entities” and “bizarre creatures.”
The new statement from BAASS (Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies) to KLAS-TV indicates the team contracted by the Pentagon delved into phenomena far beyond the UFO purview indicated in the NYT’s original reveal, in some ways continuing the paranormal research begun by founder Richard Bigelow in the 90s.
“The investigations by BAASS provided new lines of evidence showing that the UFO phenomenon was a lot more than nuts and bolts machines that interacted with military aircraft,” the senior manager said. “The phenomenon also involved a whole panoply of diverse activity that included bizarre creatures, poltergeist activity, invisible entities, orbs of light, animal and human injuries and much more.”
The BAASS manager also described research methodologies tailored to explain multiple eyewitnesses reporting “widely different events.” The new methodology, premised on “utilizing the human body as a readout system for dissecting interactions with the UFO phenomenon,” was put in place because BAASS came to believe evidence indicated “the UFO phenomenon was capable of manipulating and distorting human perception,” making eyewitness testimony “increasingly untrustworthy.”
While it may sound more like a convenient method for explaining away incongruous accounts than rigorous science, the BAASS statement claims “the results of applying this new approach was a revolution in delineating the threat level of UFOs.”
While the statement advocates a wider approach to UFO research, to avoid the “myopic and unproductive” focus on “nuts and bolts machines,” it also takes as assumed new conclusions about the exact nature of the UFO phenomena, particularly in assigning agency to the phenomena. The statement describes BAASS’s new “forensic” approach as “aimed to bypass UFO deception and manipulation,” layering a sinister overtone atop the already threatening descriptions of human and animal injury (presumably alluding to the cattle mutilation phenomena). To what degree the poltergeists, bizarre creatures and invisible entities actively participate in the deception remains unclear. For now, compelling evidence, or any evidence at all, remains unavailable to the public.
The statement and documents published by the I-Team further complicate the contracting process described by the NYT, confirming the Defense Intelligence Agency originally sought bids under a different name: Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Application Program (AAWSAP), a claim originally made by UFO researcher Paul Ready and UFOs and the National Security State author Richard Dolan in April. The contract documents reveal an initial payment of $10 million, allocated to BAASS.
BAASS, created specifically for the Pentagon contract, conducted research both from Bigelow Aerospace headquarters in North Las Vegas and an infamous Utah ranch, formerly owned by Robert Bigelow (ownership has since transferred to Adamantium Real Estate, who manages the property on behalf of an anonymous owner). Commonly known as Skinwalker Ranch, the 480-acre property has been the site of reported cattle mutilations, UFO sightings and “large, ferocious animals with piercing yellow eyes” that bullets couldn’t injure. From 1996 to 2004, Bigelow investigated paranormal phenomena at and around the ranch under the umbrella of his now defunct research group, the National Institute for Discovery Science.
Could poltergeists, UFOs and other paranormal phenomena all be related? While it’s always possible new information from the Pentagon UFO program will provide actual data from Bigelow’s AAWSAP research, the presence of electrical engineer Dr. Harold Puthoff, one of the lead researchers for BAASS, warrants a default to skepticism. Puthoff, also one of the sources for the initial NYT disclosure, has a long history of promoting pseudoscience—endorsing psychic fraud Uri Geller and coming to the defense of L. Ron Hubbard's E-meter in a 1974 document Scientology developed for use by the government. Puthoff’s research team, EarthTech International, was subcontracted by Bigelow to write the recently revealed DIA reports.
Those reports don’t point to any new revolutions in science or UFO research. DIA documents for AAWSAP, like “Warp Drive, Dark Energy, and the Manipulation of Extra Dimensions,” are more summations of existing theoretical physics than radical alien technologies. “It’s bits and pieces of theoretical physics dressed up as if it has something to do with potentially real-world applications, which it doesn’t,” theoretical physicist Sean Carroll told Business Insider. “This is not something that’s going to connect with engineering anytime soon, probably anytime ever.”

While UFO researchers hope the reveal of AAWSAP will offer new opportunities for FOIA requests and further reveals, it’s the bright line to BAASS which most expands our understanding of the bizarre research avenues in the Pentagon’s Top Secret UFO program. Outlandish claims of poltergeists, reality-distorting encounters, alien alloys and groundbreaking technologies demand a subsequently high burden of proof. Disclosure of actual evidence could prove the difference between a radically new understanding of humanity’s place in the universe and just another wasteful Department of Defense budget line item.
Soon, two ambitious missions will take us closer to the sun than we've ever gone before, providing invaluable insight into how our star really works.
Launching in the summer of 2018 and in 2020, respectively, NASA's Parker Solar Probe and the European Space Agency's (ESA) Solar Orbiter will work to gather up-close data of the sun. And, while these missions will use different technologies, "as missions — they'll be complementary," Eric Christian, a research scientist on the Parker Solar Probe mission, said in a statement from NASA.
The sun is a life-sustaining source of energy for life here on Earth. However, solar wind, a stream of charged gas streaming from its surface, can threaten the technologies that drive radio communications, satellites and power grids. Because the sun, and the solar wind, so directly and drastically affect us, it is imperative that we understand it better to protect ourselves against potential negative events. Parker Solar Probe and Solar Orbiter will both observe the sun's corona — its unpredictable, gaseous outer atmosphere. If you were able to see the white, hair-like pieces surrounding the sun during the 2017 total solar eclipse, then you saw the solar corona. According to the NASA statement, many scientists believe that the corona could drive the speed of solar wind. However, the corona is not very well understood.
“Our goal is to understand how the sun works and how it affects the space environment to the point of predictability. This is really a curiosity-driven science," Chris St. Cyr, a Solar Orbiter project scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, said in the statement.
Parker Solar Probe and Solar Orbiter — which are separate, but complementary, missions — aim to help researchers better understand the sun's unpredictable behavior. They will "be taking pictures of the sun's corona at the same time, and they’ll be seeing some of the same structures — what's happening at the poles of the sun and what those same structures look like at the equator," Christian said.
Solar Orbiter, which will orbit the sun on a tilt from 26 million miles away, will take the first-ever direct images of the sun's poles. This will allow scientists to better understand the sun's magnetic fields, since some of our star's magnetic activity is concentrated at its poles.

Parker Solar Probe will get significantly closer to the sun, inching as close as 3.8 million miles from its surface. From this close distance, the probe will be able to image solar wind, study magnetic fields and observe both plasma and energetic particles, NASA officials said in the statement. This probe will also carry with it a memory card holding 1,137,202 names, including William Shatner's — cheering it on as it travels to the sun.
We don't yet understand how the sun's magnetic field is created or structured, why its corona behaves in a way that seems impossible to predict, or what's influencing the dangerous solar wind. These two missions from NASA and ESA aim to change that.

LOS ANGELES — Before laying out his ambitious plan for humanity's future in space, Amazon and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos had a bit of news to deliver during a gala dinner Friday night (May 25).
"During dinner, 10 minutes ago, I just got word that 'The Expanse' was saved," he said, referring to the futuristic space television series that was canceled by Syfy. Fans had urged Amazon Studios, which owns the U.S. streaming rights, to pick up the show for another season; the efforts included celebrity endorsements and even a banner flying over the company's headquarters.
Bezos announced the new development here at the Governors' Dinner at the National Space Society's International Space Development Conference. For his contribution to spaceflight, Bezos received the society's Gerard K. O'Neill Memorial Award for Space Settlement Advocacy, which O'Neill's widow, Tasha, presented to him. (Gerard K. O'Neill was a physicist and proponent of space colonization.)

Once the cheering died down, Bezos chatted space journalist Alan Boyle to lay out his expansive vision for where — just like on the TV show — millions of people will live and work in space colonies (although, hopefully, with less cross-solar-system conflict). Bezos said he and his spaceflight company, Blue Origin, can help save the world like he saved "The Expanse" — not from cancellation, but from stagnation and decline.
"We have resources to build room for a trillion humans in the solar system," Bezos said. "And when we have a trillion humans, we'll have a thousand Einsteins and a thousand Mozarts; it'll be a way more interesting place to live."

During the chat, the billionaire positioned himself as the successor to the late O'Neill, a former Princeton University professor who envisioned massive, Earth-like colonies floating in space during the 1970s in his book "The High Frontier."
"Professor O'Neill was very formative for me," Bezos said. "I read 'The High Frontier' in high school. I read it multiple times. And I was already primed. And as soon as I read it, it made sense to me. It seemed very clear that planetary surfaces were not the right place for an expanding civilization inside the solar system."
"For one, they're not that big," he added. "There's another argument I always make too, [which] is, they're hard to get to. [If] we build our own colonies, we can do them in near-Earth vicinity, because people will want to come back to Earth. By using the resources on the moon and in the asteroid belt, humans could build massive colonies to escape the limitations of Earth and avoid society's stagnation; the finite resources on Earth would keep humanity from growing to its full potential.Bezos said he thinks that is "a very bad future." "It's not the future that I want for my grandchildren or my grandchildren's grandchildren," he said. "And I doubt anybody in this room wants that for their descendants."
One key element of Bezos' plan is to move all heavy industry (such as mining and metal smelting) off the planet, with Earth being reserved for light industry (such as assembling products) and residential use.
"In the not-too-distant future — I'm talking decades, maybe a hundred years — it'll start to be easier to do a lot of the things we currently do on Earth in space because we'll have so much energy," he said, referring to space outposts run on solar power.

Bezos said that, to begin moving down this road, he founded Blue Origin in 2000. He sells about $1 billion worth of stock each year to fund the rocket company, whose motto in Latin is "Gradatim ferociter" (which means "Step by step, ferociously.")
Bezos drew a comparison between space colonization and his online business empire. When he started Amazon.com to sell products online, there was already a network (the internet) connected to personal computers, a payment system (credit cards) and multiple delivery systems (postal services, UPS, etc.). That infrastructure allowed online commerce to grow enormously.
Blue Origin's goal is to build a similar infrastructure so that entrepreneurs can expand into space. The company is developing two large, reusable rockets — called New Glenn and New Armstrong — in an effort to significantly bring down the cost of launching payloads into space.
"When we have that entrepreneurial dynamism in space, you will see how fast this vision … will happen," he said.
