Details On UFO Sighting Revealed In A Military Report

There are dozens of UFO sightings these days, and they have been for a while. In December, however, the New York Times released investigation results on US military’s monitoring of UFO claims that came up something entirely wild. It was a Pentagon video showing US Navy pilots tracking the activity of an unexplainable aircraft. Now, a Las Vegas news team has received a military reports offering even more details on the sighting. The story is somewhat becoming even stranger than before.

The report explains every detail how a US Navy aircraft carrier is strangely playing hide and seek with multiple Anomalous Aerial Vehicles (AAVs), which demonstrate advanced flight characteristics that should be impossible to do.

The sightings started on November 20, 2004, and went on for several days. The object would appear on radar systems of the carrier for short periods, seeming to hover, and then fly off at high speeds.

The crew started to investigate this phenomenon because of the confusion on what was happening. When the object re-appeared a few days later, a pair of F/A-18Fs was sent out to investigate the mysterious signals. The result is the now the popular video that shows the “Tic Tac-shaped” UFO moving along at incredibly high speeds and demonstrating fast changes in altitude.

According to the new report, the object is described as without edges, smooth, solid white and being uniformly coloured without wings, pylons, or nacelles. It says the object was around 46 feet long. As a comparison, the F/A fighters trailing it measure approximately 56 feet long. It is speculated that the strange object could hold one or more human-sized individuals.

The pilot said that they never felt a threat on the object, but the report notes that it seemingly reacted to the presence of the jets, showing an incredible acceleration, aerodynamic and propulsion capability.

The Navy says it may have a cloaking ability or can disappear to the human eye after several days of seeing it come and go. The officials also think it could operate underwater because of its quick descent from 60,000 feet to just 50 feet before vanishing, possibly moving from the air to the sea at will effortlessly.

Last week, NASA issued a clarification that a bright light in an image tweeted by one of its astronauts was, in fact, from the International Space Station, and not from a UFO. Even though there's never been any scientific evidence that UFOs exist, it's not exactly surprising: A higher percentage of Americans believe that UFOs exist than those who believe in climate change, evolution, or that the earth is 4.5 billion years old.

One of the best-known organizations claiming to scientifically study UFO's is the "Mutual UFO Network," or MUFON. Much of their work involves consulting with "experiencers"—people who claim to have been abducted or otherwise come in contact with extraterrestrial beings. It's a little bit hard to accept that the process has any scientific validity, given that the "experiencer questionnaire" reads a bit like an oncologist diagnosing a hypochondriac by asking them if they have cancer. Even still, they are the go-to for those who believe to have had alien encounters.

MUFON's director of experiencer research is Kathleen Marden—the niece of Betty and Barney Hill, two of the most well-known alleged UFO abductees from the 1960s. I talked to Marden about her methodology, the support services she provides for "experiencers," and whether media portrayals of aliens do more harm than good.

VICE: Tell me a little about what you do with MUFON. 

Kathleen Marden: I'm MUFON's director of experiencer research. What we ask experiencers to do before they file a report with MUFON is to go to our website and take the experiencer questionnaire. It's a commonalities questionnaire to determine what they have in common with experiencers who participated in the Martin Stoner Commonalities Research Project in 2012. Once they do that, their score will go to me, along with their questionnaire, and I will assign a member of the team to get in touch with them.

Then what happens? 

We talk to individuals to help them determine what they want to do: Do they want a formal investigation of their case with someone from MUFON? Do they have evidence? Are they not sure what's going on? Do they want some pointers on what to look for and how to collect the evidence? Do they have unpleasant memories about what has happened to them? Are they looking for a support group? We will attempt to find a support group for them—there are so few that it's really difficult, but there are some online support groups. Or are they looking for a therapist or a hypnotist? Then we will tell them where to look for a list where they might be able to get some information about those things. Professionals who specialize in this stuff are not very prevalent so it's difficult, but we do the best we can to help experiencers define what they want.

Have you encountered people who've tried to deceive you about their alien encounters? 

Absolutely. A very small percentage of experiencers who request an investigation and file a report have done so in order to attempt to pull off a deception. I have caught a couple of them in cases that I have investigated. These people tend to either have a mental illness or they tend to be on the margins of society and believe that by pulling off a deception, they're going to bring publicity to themselves and possibly money. That's not going to happen because most experiencers, if they bring publicity to themselves, it's of a negative type. They're criticized by the public and by skeptics, and nobody makes a lot of money doing this.

Do you worry that somebody might not share those commonalities but still be worthy of investigation? Are there other benefits to filling out the questionnaire?

That happens. My team is non-prejudicial. There are individuals who have had recent experiences for the first time, and they won't have all of the characteristics that long-term experiencers have. So it's kind of open-ended. What it does is it can start a conversation, and the goal is to help people because these events can be traumatic and people don't know where to turn.

I'm looking at the questionnaire and the first question is, "Have you had a close encounter with a UFO?" That seems kind of like a leading question.

Well, people, I believe, are pretty generally honest about it. We want to know, have they had a close encounter? If they have, the chances of an abduction are much greater. I'm not trying to trick people here. This is kind of straightforward.

Do you know of any cases where a prominent individual suffered for claiming to be an experiencer? I think Dennis Kucinich took a beating in his 2008 presidential campaign after he was questioned about his alleged sighting. 

Yes. Jimmy Carter, for example, had a UFO sighting and actually filed a formal investigation report about his sighting—and it was a multiple witness sighting. There are many individuals from prominent positions, whether it be astronomers or politicians—who have spoken publicly. [Editor's note: Carter filed a report with an unofficial investigations group four years after the sighting in 1973. There was never any official follow-up by him, and he has repeatedly said he does not believe the sighting was extraterrestrial.]

You're the niece of Betty and Barney Hill. What happened to them, and how has that influenced your career? 

Betty and Barney Hill were credible individuals. They were taking a brief vacation in 1961 and they had this very unusual event that occurred that changed their lives. They had no prior interest in [UFOs]; they had never read a book on this topic before that. They had conscious and continuous recall of observing an unconventional craft that came down very low—it hovered only a hundred feet overhead. My uncle got out of the car. He had conscious continuous recall of observing entities on that craft that he said were "somehow not human." He became very fearful that he was going to be captured. He ran back to the car, telling Betty that they had to get out of there right away. As he was speeding down the highway, he and Betty heard a series of buzzing sounds striking the trunk of the vehicle. The next day, they discovered that there was a magnetic field around that trunk when they placed a compass needle over the spots and the compass needle would spin and spin but drop down when it was placed on an other area of the car.

This must have been very upsetting. 

He was traumatized by this event, so much so that he ended up developing ulcers and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. He was seen by medical doctors, and then was referred to the psychiatrist because traditional medical treatment did not cause his symptoms to recede. Betty had a series of nightmare-like dreams: She only had five, they occurred early in the morning just before she woke up, and she wrote them down and formed them into a storyline. Barney wasn't very interested in it. He did overhear a little bit of them, but not all of them

My understanding is that much of their telling of the alleged incident occurred during hypnosis sessions a few years later, right? 

I did a comparative analysis of their separate statements under hypnosis. [The doctor] hypnotized them separately and he reinstated amnesia at the end of each session so they didn't know what the other one stated. I have those tapes of their separate hypnosis sessions—I transcribed them and lined up their separate statements. What I discovered is that Betty and Barney describe where these ETs were standing, how they moved, what they did. That information was not in Betty's dreams—and it was also in conflict with some of the information in Betty's dreams—which lead me to believe this was a real event, and not just Betty reliving dreams under hypnosis and Barney knowing a little bit about her dreams and building on his own story based upon that. All of their testimony is in agreement; there is no conflict in their separate testimony.

Some people have suggested that those who claim to have had contact with extraterrestrials are actually experiencing vivid dreams, or sleep paralysis. How do you respond to those sorts of explanations? 

All of those things are something that could occur, and that is something that we always look at. We always attempt to explain these away with prosaic explanations first. But we, as unbiased investigators, must also look for evidence. We have to look for individual testimony, eyewitness testimony, circumstantial evidence, physical evidence such as fluorescence in certain patterns on the bodies of experiencers, certain markings that we find on the bodies of experiencers—even to the point of installing surveillance cameras, motion-activated infrared in the homes of experiencers and outside those homes, and looking at the evidence.

What we find is that the outside camera might pick up a bright light outside the home. If this is a bedroom abduction, you might see the husband and wife sitting up in bed, and the next thing you know, the camera shuts down for two hours, and then you see the individuals again—but they're in bed in a different position. It's that sort of thing: the cameras always shut down.

A camera shutting down for two hours sounds more like an absence of evidence. 

No. It's not an absence of evidence. It's evidence that something unusual has occurred. It's evidence of an anomaly. And when you get evidence of that anomaly over and over again, then it is significant. And what we need in all of this is not one smoking gun, one piece of evidence that is going to be irrefutable, but the preponderance of evidence, the weight of the different types of evidence that is around this constellation of evidence that we require in cases of alien abduction, for example.

Do you think that portrayals of extraterrestrials in popular media are conducive or harmful to people coming forward? 

It depends on what you see. For example, MUFON's Hangar 1: The UFO Files show on the History Channel has caused many people to come forward. We've received far more reports than we did before Hangar 1 was on. But then, there are some science fiction shows that are just very, very frightening and, oh boy, it is not good for this field—and I don't think that it's good for the general population either. That kind of portrayal, in my opinion, makes people more frightened, and that's certainly something that shouldn't be happening. We should be looking at this more scientifically, more as investigators, and I am not in favor of any of the science fiction that comes out on this.

US military chiefs have confirmed a bizarre red light that was seen flying over Washington state was not connected to any army-based activity.

Professor Cliff Mass, an atmospheric sciences faculty member at the University of Washington, said however the object did indeed look like a missile. 

He continued: “It really looks like an ascending missile. I would be interested if someone had some insights into this sighting.” 

UFO sightings are relatively common in the US, with thousands of people claiming to have seen the strange objects. 

The bizarre sightings have even led people to believe that aliens are monitoring Earthly behaviours from space. 

Footage of a clip near the International Space Station sparked rumours that extraterrestrials were spying on humanity. 

The clip showed a UFO travelling away from Earth.

Nevertheless, Hastings believes that the now well-documented nuclear weapons-related incidents are integral to an understanding of the mystery that confronts us.

Fire of the Gods, Mythological Weapons Of The Ancient Past

One of the most well-known stories in Greek Mythology is the legend of Prometheus. This powerful Titan ruled over the realm of fire, and in a defiant act passed his sacred knowledge onto humanity (despite Zeus’s orders to keep this knowledge forbidden). This combustible tool allowed our ancestors to survive the cold, bake clay vessels, and clear forests for planting. It literally helped humanity ascend from the stone age to a world of culture and technology.

But according to Hindu Mythology, this blazing gift went way beyond the primitive use of smelting metal and cooking meat. In the hands of the gods, fire was a profound and deadly tool, capable of incinerating enemies and leveling entire civilizations.

Agneyastra was one such weapon, created by the fire god Agni. It was described as a flaming arrow which required great knowledge and skill to work. Legend says the Agneyastra was used by the hero Sagara to set his enemies ablaze.

Another weapon, created by the God Vishnu, was the Narayanastra which fired a tirade of missiles upon its enemies. It was said the intensity of the fire increased the more an enemy resisted, and lessened when they showed their submission. In order to maintain a balance, this weapon could only be used once. If anyone tried to use it twice, it would devour the user and their supporting army.

The Brahmastra (forged by Lord Brahma) was one of the deadliest weapons in mythology. It required days of intense meditation to activate, and when fired, almost nothing could stop it. Upon impact, it created a powerful inferno capable of annihilating an entire nation. The weapon also created severe environmental damage (not dissimilar to radioactive fallout). Wherever the Brahmastra was dropped, the surrounding land would become barren of all life.

Finally, there was the deadliest weapon of all, the Pashupatastra. Both Shiva and Kali were said to have possessed this device, which was discharged by the power of thought. It was forbidden to be used against lesser enemies. This catastrophic weapon was said to be capable of destroying creation and vanquishing all life. The Hindu hero, Arjuna, obtained this weapon from Lord Shiva but did not use it as he was afraid he would destroy the world.

All of these powerful weapons sound uncannily familiar to the tools of mass destruction we have today. Perhaps the gods had a message for us. It is of no coincidence that Oppenheimer, creator of the atomic bomb used this quote from Hindu mythology “Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds”. We live in an age where the fire of the Gods is now at our own disposal. Is it possible that there was a reason that Zeus forbade Prometheus from sharing this sacred knowledge? Can we truly be entrusted with the fire of the Gods?

The Nebra Sky Disc: One Of The Oldest Cosmic Maps Ever Discovered

The Nebra sky disk, first thought to be a forgery, is now considered as one of the most important archaeological findings in the 20th century. This object is a bronze disk of around 30 cm diameter and a weight of 2.2 kg, with a blue-green patina and inlaid with gold symbols. The images on the disc are interpreted generally as a sun or full moon, a lunar crescent, and stars, specifically the  Pleiades.

But what makes this disk very unique is the fact that this disk is unlike any known artistic style from the period. The Nebra Sky Disc features the oldest concrete depiction of the cosmos worldwide. in June 2013 the Nebra sky disk was included in the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.

The disk is attributed to a site near Nebra, Saxony-Anhalt in Germany, and associatively dated to c. 1600 BC. According to researchers, it is at least two hundred years older than the oldest images found in Egypt. The Nebra sky disk was discovered by two “convicted” treasure hunters using a metal detector at a prehistoric enclosure encircling the Mittelberg hill, near the town of Nebra The disk was recovered shortly after by police authorities.

It was a group of German researchers that uncovered evidence that this disk was a complex astronomical clock for the harmonization of solar and lunar calendars, it is considered as the first ever portable navigating system.

But that does not answer any questions regarding the disk that have surfaced since its discovery in 1999. One of the most important markings found on the disk is the representation of the Pleiades;  an open star cluster containing middle-aged hot B-type stars located in the constellation of Taurus.

It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. The celestial entity has several meanings in different cultures and traditions and it is one of the most famous celestial objects (together with the Orion Nebula) in ancient times.

The Bronze Age astronomers would hold the Nebra clock against the sky and observe the position of the celestial objects.

The intercalary month was inserted when what they saw in the sky corresponded to the map on the disc they were holding in their hands. This happened every two to three years. “This is a clear expansion of what we knew about the meaning and function of the sky disc,” said archaeologist Harald Meller.

This is an image from the astronomy program Stellarium (free at Sourceforge) on the night of March 20, 2010, when the moon occulted the Pleiades. Notice that it strongly resembles the little dipper. This image is as you would see from earth. We have rotated the image 90 degrees left, and if you compare it to the Sky Disk you will notice that it is the same representation as seen on the Nebra Sky Disk (upper left).

“The sensation lies in the fact that the Bronze Age people managed to harmonize the solar and lunar years. We never thought they would have managed that,…The functioning of this clock was probably known to a very small group of people,”

According to astronomer Wolfhard Schlosser of the Rurh University at Bochum, the Bronze Age sky gazers already knew what the Babylonians would describe only a thousand years later.

“Whether this was a local discovery, or whether the knowledge came from afar, is still not clear,” Schlosser said.

Ever since the disc was discovered, archaeologists and astronomers have been puzzled by the shape of the moon as it appears on the disc. According to the ancient Babylonian rule, a thirteenth month should only be added to the lunar calendar only when one sees the constellation of the moon and the Pleiades exactly as they appear on the Nebra sky disc. — Article: 2002. (www.dw-world.de)

A Brief History Of Witchcraft And How It Spread Across The World

Modern witchcraft has drawn much of its ideology from ancient religions and esoteric schools. It can be argued that the roots of this revived faith go back as far as the Stone Age, when humans began to conceive their world as a spiritual construct.

1. Shamanism appeared some time during the upper Paleolithic (50,000 – 10,000 years ago). The shaman would often enter trance states to follow the migration of herds (ensuring a successful hunt), heal people from illness, and protect their tribe from evil spirits. Many cave paintings depict shaman dancing in animal costumes, as though taking on the spirit of a particular animal.

2. As the nomadic tribes began to settle, new civilisations emerged, the earliest known being Sumeria (3500 BCE). From the translation of cuneiform tablets we know that the Sumerians believed in a wide range of celestial beings such as gods and spirits, many of which were hostile, so each person was guarded by spirit to protect them from demons. Their magic system was known as invocation, which allowed them to summon, bind and vanquish dark spirits using amulets, incantations and exorcism.

3. In ancient Egypt (2500 BCE), priests became skilled in Heka (the ‘activation of Ka’ or spirit energy). The Ka was the aspect of the soul which embodied personality, and the priests believed they could manipulate this spiritual fabric to influence the gods, gain protection, heal the ill and transform themselves into immortals. During the Third Intermediate Period of Egypt (1069–653 BC), the art of Heka was adopted by midwives and nurses, allowing women to explore the secrets of Ka for the first time.

4. The Mystery cults emerged in ancient Greece (1500 – 1100 BCE) and were eventually passed onto the Romans. These secret schools required an initiation process to gain entrance. Worshippers believed that the gods of Greece (such as Demeter, Dionysus and Orpheus) had passed on their magical secrets to humans during the Bronze Age. This included the art of shamanic travel, invoking the gods, reincarnation, and even the ingredients for making ambrosia (an immortalising food).

5. The Celts (decedents of the Indo Europeans), formed a priest class known as Druids by around 350 BCE. These nature worshippers acted as teachers, judges, astrologers, healers, and bards. They were pantheists, meaning they revered many aspects of a single deity (in the forms of nature gods, trees and standing stones). All of their rituals were based around reincarnation, creating potions and crafting spells, which would eventually form the backbone of medieval witchcraft.

6. Another branch of Indo-European magic can be found in the Anglo-Saxon culture (400 CE – 1100 CE). Their magic was based on Norse Mythology, where legend says the god Odin had passed the secrets of the runes to humanity. These sacred symbols are used for healing, creating charms, crafting magical artefacts and hexing people. Due to the Christianisation of their religion in the 6th – 8th century, the Anglo-Saxons came to fear the practitioners of rune magic, believing them to be guided by evil.

7. Gnosticism was a mystic religion that originated in the Middle East around 100 CE. Gnostics believed the material world was inherently evil and that realm of spirit was fundamentally good. They claimed the creator god of the Old Testament was corrupt and had created a flawed world. Instead they directed Christians toward an inner experience of the true god via spiritual transcendence. Their ideology outraged other Christian and Jewish faiths that saw this as an affront to their religion.

8. Gnosticism later influenced the mystic tradition of the Kabbalah. This Jewish sect believed that God’s divine knowledge had been shared by the angels to humans 5000 years ago. His spiritual principles were then passed down the generations via oral tradition until emerging as a sacred text known as Sefer Zohar (“Book of Radiance”), written by Moses de Leon, 1290 CE. Practitioners guide their followers via meditation toward a direct contact with the divine. Like Gnosticism, the Kabbalah speaks of divine beings, a tree of life and multiple cosmic realms.

9. Throughout the early middle ages, the Catholic Church tolerated pagan faiths. However, after the devastation of the ‘Black Death’ (bubonic plague 1347-1349), a paranoia swept through the minds of Christians, believing it was the heathens and heretics who had tainted humanity with their dark sorcery. What followed was 300 years of persecution toward anyone practicing magic and mysticism.

1401: Witch Trials began in England, proclaiming that anyone who practiced witchcraft was to be burnt at the stake.

1487: The notorious ‘Malleus Maleficarum’ (‘Hammer against the Witches’) was published by Kramer & Sprenger, inciting Christians to hunt down and kill witches.

1515: Authorities in Geneva, Switzerland burn 500 accused witches at the stake

1526: Como, Italy, a spiral of witchcraft charges lead to around 1000 executions.

1644: In England, Matthew Hopkins (self proclaimed “Witch-finder General”) began an intense witch-hunting campaign, torturing and killing around 300 women.

1692: The Salem witch trials arrest 150 people, convicting twenty-nine of the felony of witchcraft. Nineteen of the accused were hanged.

Between 1400 and 1700, an estimated 50,000 suspected witches were executed (around 75% of them women), in countries such as France, Britain, Germany and America.

After what became known as “The Burning Times”, the practice of witchcraft survived in pockets, particularly in the countryside, cut off from interaction with witches from other areas, or through secret societies.

10. The occult, (knowledge of the paranormal) was studied and practiced throughout the witch trials, often within secret societies sworn to silence. Intellectuals drawn to forbidden lore and mysticism began to study ancient texts related to invocation, ancient mythology, Egyptian mysticism, Gnosticism and the Kabbalah. Throughout this era, societies such as the Freemasons and Rosicrucian’s began to develop new schools of thought in astrology, alchemy, tarot, mediumship and sacred geometry.

11. In 1887, the works of the occult reached their pinnacle in an English society called ‘The Golden Dawn’. The Hermetic Order was an organisation devoted to occult practices, metaphysics, and paranormal activity. Many present-day concepts of ritual magic have been inspired by the Golden Dawn, which became one of the largest single influences on 20th-century Western occultism.

12. Wicca is a modern pagan, witchcraft religion. It was developed in England during the first half of the 20th century by Gerald Gardner. It draws upon the mystic traditions of the golden Dawn as well as ancient pagan practices. Wiccans typically believe in reincarnation, the use of magic to influence specific outcomes, a moral responsibility toward others and an appreciation for natural cycles (they have eight festivals known as Sabbats that revolve around the changing seasons). Wiccans often worship a variety of nature deities, the most important being the mother goddess and the horned god. These two deities are sometimes viewed as facets of a single godhead.

The Otherworldly Qualities Of The Food Of The Gods

From the Nectar Of Greek Mythology, said to be a divine liquid with rejuvenating qualities to Amrita mentioned in Vedic Mythology, this article written by Simon E. Davies takes a look at the Food of the Gods, and their incredible, otherworldly qualities.

Nectar

The nectar of the gods was a divine brew that could be used as a drink or an ointment. It was said to bestow youth and beauty upon anyone who used it. The goddess Aphrodite was said to have worn the nectar as perfume, while Apollo used nectar to preserve a corpse due to its incredible properties which could stop the decomposition of a body almost indefinitely.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia was the most prized food of the Greek Gods. When a divine being ate the delicious ambrosia, their skin was cleansed of any defilement, making them appear younger and more desirable. Some scholars believe that both nectar and ambrosia were kinds of honey, prepared differently for consumption. It is said these foods have a healing and cleansing power, often used as an antiseptic. It was also believed that ambrosia could bestow immortality if eaten regularly.

Amrita

Amrita is a divine food from ancient India, often mentioned in the mythical stories of the Rigveda. It was described as a drink which confers immortality upon the gods. Amrita features in the “ocean-churning” legend of Hindu mythology which describes how the devas, because of a curse from a crazed sage, lose their immortality. Assisted by their mortal enemies, the asuras, they churned a great ocean to create the wondrous amrita, the nectar of immortality. Those who drank it literally could not die.

Divine Peaches

In Chinese mythology, the peaches of immortality were consumed by the gods due to their virtue of conferring longevity on all who eat them. The sacred peach tree put forth its leaves once every thousand years and it required another three thousand years for the fruit to ripen. It was said the gods would wait for four thousand years before gathering the divine peaches and feasting on them for a day and a night.

Norse Apples

In Norse mythology, Idunn was a goddess who was known as the keeper of golden apples. Her name means “ever young”, or “the rejuvenating one”. The Norse gods depended upon Idunn’s constant supply of these golden apples for their immortality. In the Prose Edda, there is a tale of how Loki was once forced by a giant to lure Idunn out of Asgard and into a wood, where she was then snatched away to his home. In Idunn’s absence, the gods grew old and gray. Once they rrealizedthat Loki was responsible for her disappearance, they made him find the goddess and steal her back from the giant. Only then did they regain their immortality and youth.

Elixir of Life

The elixir of life is a mythical potion that, when drunk from a certain cup at a certain time, grants the drinker with immortality and eternal youth. It was based on the alchemical teachings of Thoth and Hermes Trismegistus, both of whom in various tales are said to have drunk “the white drops” of liquid gold, and thus achieved immortality. Alchemists throughout the ages have tried to recreate this incredible formula but to no avail. In the Qin Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang sent a Taoist alchemist to the eastern seas to find the elixir, but he never came back.

Apples of Eden

In the Book of Genesis, the tree of life is (found in the Garden of Eden) is said to be guarded by Cherubim to prevent mortals from stealing its precious nectar. The tree is described in the Book of Revelation as bearing “twelve crops of fruit”, said to possess curing properties. Saint Bonaventure taught that the medicinal fruit of the Tree of Life contains the healing power of Christ himself. Thomas Aquinas (a Catholic priest from the medieval era) argued that the fruit of the tree served to maintain Adam’s longevity beyond that of an earthly animal life.

Soma

Soma was a sacred drink mentioned in Vedic and Persian texts that were said to bestow immortality on anyone who consumed it. The nectar is said to come from a plant which is described as possessing a long green stem with bright, shining yellow petals. It is said that when drinking this potent brew, a person’s body “roars” with the qualities of a god. The effects include greater speed and strength to warriors, strong, robust children to those giving birth, and spiritual power to those who apply themselves to the study of the philosophy.

The question is, are these divine foods merely a part of creative storytelling, or did they actually exist? Did our ancient ancestors actually discover a powerful substance capable of promoting speed, intelligence, and longevity?

Today there are many performance-enhancing drugs that can sustain life, bolster strength and empower the mind, all cultivated from the incredible properties of certain plants and foods. Perhaps the discovery of an ‘immortalising’ drug is almost upon us. But can we really break the cycle of life and death and expect no consequences.

Dare we walk in the footsteps of the gods?

14 Massive Monoliths Of The Ancient World

Monoliths (aka menhirs or obelisks) are upright stones that have been used to create impressive structures around the world. These great monuments can appear on their own, or as part of a group (e.g. stone circles, temples, tombs etc).

The erection of these monoliths mainly took place in the Neolithic, later continuing into the Bronze Age. They were typically hewn from the land and raised on sacred sites that our ancestors deemed worthy of honoring. Their size varied considerably, but their shape is generally uneven and squared, often tapering towards the top.

A number of ancient Egyptian obelisks are known to have survived, plus the “Unfinished Obelisk” found partly hewn from its quarry at Aswan. Had it have been erected, it would have been the tallest megalith in the world! These obelisks are now dispersed around the world, and fewer than half of them remain in Egypt.

It was said that many of the ancient obelisks were used to mark the passing of royal personages (e.g. the Karnack Obelisk is associated with King Thutmose I, and the Stella of Axum with the Queen of Sheba). Even the Great Menhir of Er-Grah is built next to an ancient tomb suggesting it is a grave marker worthy of a significant hero or king from the Neolithic era.

It is also said the pyramids and obelisks might have been inspired by previously overlooked astronomical phenomena connected with sunrise and sunset: the zodiacal light and sun pillars respectively.

Those Defense Intelligence Reference Documents

In a Coast to Coast radio interview on 28 January 2018, between journalist George Knapp and Eric W Davis, Davis outlined his sub-contractor role within the Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS)  program for the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP.) At the Institute for Advanced Studies, based in Austin, Texas, his job was to provide broad scientific advice, and recommendations. He did not get into any data analysis, video analysis or witness interviews.

He was tasked with looking into the future - around 2050 - to set up a series of expert studies - and produce a series of Defense Intelligence Reference Documents (DIRDs.) To look at a variety of topics and get experts to write a DIRD on that subject. Authors were asked to imagine our earthly technology, extrapolate it to 2050 and compare what we might have by then against what we see of the phenomenon today. Davis stated that 38 such papers were produced, with two being classified.

In another 28 January 2018 Coast to Coast interview by George Knapp, this time with Hal Puthoff, Puthoff stated that his role within the AATIP was mainly to look at the physics. He had had 38 papers written

We have seen three. Two written by Davis, namely, DIA-08-1004-004 dated 6 April 2010; and DIA-08-1004-001 dated 2 April 2010. The earliest appearance of these two documents can be traced back to a website operated by US researcher Corey Goode. They appear in an item written dated 18 December 2017.

How do we know these are copies of the real, original documents? Isaac Koi posed this question to Eric W Davis by email; together with a copy of the two documents. Davis confirmed they were his documents.

The third DIRD, this one written by Hal Puthoff surfaced on 5 May 2018 as a link within a report by George Knapp and Matt Adams  It was DIA-08-1003-015 titled "Advanced Space Propulsion Based on Vacuum (Spacetime Metric) Engineering" and dated 29 March 2010.

How do we know this is one of the 38 prepared DIRD's? I emailed Hal Puthoff; sent him a copy of the document, and he confirmed by return email that it was his original DIRD..

In summary, we know there were 38 DIRD's prepared. We have the titles of seven of these, and a full copy of three.

1.On his website Corey Goode stated that at one point he had the two Davis DIRD's above, plus three others (not described) but these three others had been stolen from him (no others details given.)

2.A search of the Internet brings up copies of the two Davis DIA-08-1004-004 dated 6 April 2010; and DIA-08-1004-001 dated 2 April 2010.and one Puhoff  DIA-08-1003-015 DIRDs already described above.

3. Hal Puthoff published a paper with the same title as his DIRD, "Advanced Space Propulsion Based on Vacuum (Spacetime Metric) Engineering" in 2010 in the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society.

4. In a talk entitled "Empty Space: The Multilayered, Multicolored Superconductor," by Eric W Davis at a conference titled "Modern Topics in Energy and Power", US Army Research Laboratory, in August 2016, referenced two DIRDs, namely DIA-08-1004-007 and DIA-08-1102-007, both of which we were already aware of, from Davis' Earth Tech DIRD list.

5. I searched the US website for the Defense Technical Information Centre for any of these DIRDs. There were two documents, dated 2004,  by Eric W Davis concerning "Teleportation Physics Study" and "Advanced Propulsion Study." However, I was unable to locate any of the six 2010/2011 Davis DIRDs or the one by Puthoff on this website.

The Antarctic has lost three trillion tons of ice since 1992

Researchers have quantified how much ice the Antarctic has lost in the past 26 years, and it’s an ungodly amount: 3,000,000,000,000 tons. This is the most complete picture of Antarctic ice sheet change to date — 84 scientists from 44 international organizations combined 24 satellite surveys to produce the assessment.

As any teenager who hasn’t failed his science class should be able to tell you, rising temperatures lead to melting ice, and this is easy to spot in the Antarctic, as well as in many other places around the world. Antarctica’s ice sheets have enough ice to raise sea water levels by 58 meters, and we’re already seeing the start of this process.

Since 1992, 3 trillion tons of ice have melted, corresponding to a rise of 8 millimeters. While that may seem like a trivial amount, it’s important to note that this is global sea level, which is actually a huge amount.

Antarctica’s ice sheets are also regarded a key indicator of climate change and a driver of sea-level rise. Since 1989 more than 150 calculations and estimates have been made, this one being the latest.

Using 24 independent satellite-observation-based estimates of ice-sheet mass balance determined within the period of 1992–2017, researchers from the Ice sheet Mass Balance Inter-comparison Exercise (IMBIE) have analyzed Antarctica’s melting, finding that ocean-driven melting led to a tripling of ice-loss rates from West Antarctica, from 53 billion to 159 billion tonnes per year. This ice loss rate has also increased from 7 to 33 billion as a result of ice sheet collapse.

Co-author Professor Martin Siegert from the Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environment at Imperial said: “Some of the changes Antarctica will face are already irreversible, such as the loss of some ice shelves, but there is a lot we can prevent or reverse.

“To avoid the worst impacts, we will need strong international cooperation and effective regulation backed by rigorous science. This will rely on governments recognising that Antarctica is intimately coupled to the rest of the Earth system, and damage there will cause problems everywhere.”

Researchers depict two scenarios: one in which tight regulations have been implemented, and one in which they haven’t. According to their analysis, by 2070, the Antarctic will look drastically different depending on what scenario takes place. Under the high emissions and low regulations narrative, Antarctica and the Southern Ocean undergo widespread and rapid change with global consequences:

• By 2070, warming of the ocean and atmosphere will cause dramatic loss of major ice shelves, leading to increased loss of grounded ice from the Antarctic Ice Sheet and causing a global acceleration in sea level rise.
• As the planet continues to warm up, sea ice retreats more and more, and ocean acidification is taking a huge toll on marine environments.
• An unexpected problem emerges as unrestricted growth in the human use of Antarctica has degraded the environment and introduced invasive pests.

Under the low emissions and tight regulations narrative, Antarctica 2070 looks just like in the early 2000s.

• Antarctica’s ice shelves have remained intact, slowing the loss of ice from the ice sheet and reducing the threat of sea level rise.
• Ocean acidification has not worsened and Antarctic ecosystems have remained intact.
• Human pressures on the Antarctic are managed by an increasingly collaborative and effective governance regime.

Professor Siegert said:

“If the political landscape of a future Antarctica is more concerned with rivalry, and how each country can get the most out of the continent and its oceans, then all protections could be overturned.”

“However, if we recognise the importance of Antarctica in the global environment, then there is the potential for international co-operation that uses evidence to enact changes that avoid ‘tipping points’ – boundaries that once crossed, would cause runaway change, such as the collapse of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet.”

The assessment, led by Professor Andrew Shepherd at the University of Leeds and Dr. Erik Ivins at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, was supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The importance of space agencies in assessing these environmental scenarios remains of crucial importance.

At the end of the day, it’s up to us as a society to decide which of the two scenarios we will experience.

A trio of 'baby planets' have been found orbiting a newborn star in a discovery that is 'at the frontier of science'.

Astronomers found the planets by looking at patterns of gas around the star.    

Known as HD 163296, the star is located 330 light-years from Earth in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius.

The technique astronomers used to study these worlds could be used to find other newborn planets.

Researchers say they can also use it to see how clouds of gas and dust can form solar systems like our own.

In the past several years the Atacama Large Millimetre Array (ALMA) in Chile has transformed our understanding of the gas and dust-filled planets that encircle young stars.

An international team of researchers analysed data from various ALMA observations of the young star HD 163296. 

Although researchers have not seen the planets surrounding the new star, they have found telltale signs they exist.

They did this by looking at the proplanetary disk - a rotating mass of dense gas and dust that surrounds a newly-formed star. 

'We looked at the localised, small-scale motion of gas in a star's protoplanetary disk', said Richard Teague, an astronomer at the University of Michigan and principal author on one of the papers.

'This entirely new approach could uncover some of the youngest planets in our galaxy, all thanks to the high-resolution images coming from ALMA,' said Richard Teague, an astronomer at the University of Michigan and principal author on one of the papers.

They looked at the distribution and motion of carbon monoxide (CO) throughout the disk instead of focusing on the dust.

Molecules of CO naturally emit a very distinctive millimetre-wavelength light that ALMA can observe.

Subtle changes in the wavelength of this light provided a glimpse into the kinematics – or motion – of the gas in the disk. 

If there were no planets, gas would move around a star in a very simple, predictable pattern known as Keplerian rotation.

Shifting wavelengths of the CO emission would indicate there was a massive object there.

WHAT IS ALMA?

Deep in the Chilean desert, the Atacama Large Millimetre Array, or ALMA, is located in one of the driest places on Earth.

At an altitude of 16,400ft, roughly half the cruising height of a jumbo jet and almost four times the height of Ben Nevis, workers had to carry oxygen tanks to complete its construction.

Switched on in March 2013, it is the world's most powerful ground based telescope.

It is also the highest on the planet and, at almost £1 billion ($1.2 billion), one of the most expensive of its kind.

'It would take a relatively massive object, like a planet, to create localised disturbances in this otherwise orderly motion,' said Christophe Pinte of Monash University in Australia and lead author on one of the two papers.

'Our new technique applies this principle to help us understand how planetary systems form.'

The team identified two distinctive planet-like patterns in the disk, one at approximately 80 astronomical units (AU) from the star and the other at 140 AU.

An astronomical unit is the average distance from the Earth to the Sun, or about 93 million miles (150m km).

The other team identified the third at about 260 AU from the star. The astronomers calculate that all three planets are similar in mass to Jupiter.

'Though thousands of exoplanets have been discovered in the last few decades, detecting protoplanets is at the frontier of science,' said Dr Pinte.

HOW DO PLANETS FORM?

According to our current understanding, a star and its planets form out of a collapsing cloud of dust and gas within a larger cloud called a nebula. 

As gravity pulls material in the collapsing cloud closer together, the centre of the cloud gets more and more compressed and, in turn, gets hotter. 

This dense, hot core becomes the kernel of a new star.

Meanwhile, inherent motions within the collapsing cloud cause it to churn.

As the cloud gets exceedingly compressed, much of the cloud begins rotating in the same direction. 

The rotating cloud eventually flattens into a disk that gets thinner as it spins, kind of like a spinning clump of dough flattening into the shape of a pizza. 

These 'circumstellar' or 'protoplanetary' disks, as astronomers call them, are the birthplaces of planets.

'These studies will also help us to understand how planets like those in our solar system were born,' said coauthor Francois Menard from Grenoble University in France.

Researchers say they want to find out more about the gas around these planets.

'Although dust plays an important role in planet formation and provides invaluable information, gas accounts for 99 percent of a protoplanetary disks' mass,' said coauthor Jaehan Bae of the Carnegie Institute for Science.

'It is therefore crucial to study kinematics of the gas.'

ALMA's high resolution enabled the researchers to measure carbon monoxide's velocity patterns throughout the disk.

'The precision is mind boggling,' said coauthor Til Birnstiel of the University Observatory of Munich.

In a system where gas rotates at about five kilometres per second, ALMA detected velocity changes as small as a few meters per second.

'This allows us to find very small deviations from the expected normal rotation in a disk,' Dr Teague said.

'Planets change the density of the gas near their orbits, which changes the gas's pressure, inducing these corresponding changes in velocity.'

'We are now bringing ALMA front and center into the realm of planet detection,' said coauthor Ted Bergin of the University of Michigan.

Subtiele veranderingen in de golflengte van deze straling, die het gevolg zijn van het Dopplereffect, verraden bewegingen van gas in de schijf. Het team onder leiding van Teague vond twee planeten op ongeveer 12 miljard en 21 miljard kilometer van de ster. De derde planeet, op ongeveer 39 miljard kilometer van de ster, werd opgespoord door een team rond Christophe Pinte van de Monash University in Australië en het Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble.

In beide gevallen loerden de onderzoekers in gebieden waar de stroming van het gas afweek van de omgeving - ongeveer zoals bij draaikolken rond een steen in een rivier. Door deze beweging nauwkeurig te analyseren, konden de wetenschappers duidelijk de invloed van planeetachtige objecten zien die qua massa op Jupiter lijken. Beide teams zullen de methode verder verfijnen en ze toepassen op andere protoplanetaire schijven. Daarbij hopen de wetenschappers meer te weten te komen over de manier waarop atmosferen ontstaan en over de soorten elementen en moleculen die een planeet bij zijn geboorte meekrijgt. Door de nieuwe techniek kan ALMA voorop gaan lopen in de jacht op planeten buiten ons zonnestelsel, exoplaneten.

“You will be part of the five proud branches of the United States Armed Forces… Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and the Coast Guard.” These were the words of U.S. President Donald Trump back in May, during a ceremony at the Whitehouse honoring the Army Black Knights college football team. Up to this point, his comments were fairly pedestrian… but of course, that’s just about when things took a turn for the stars.

“We’re actually thinking of a sixth [branch]” Trump continued, “and that would be the Space Force. Does that make sense?”

Well, for the most part. Wait, was he serious?

“This is perhaps because we’re getting very big in space, both militarily and for other reasons, and we are seriously thinking of the Space Force.”

The question remains as to who the “we” he was referring to might have been… although in truth, rumors are already floating around on the web suggesting that Trump actually got his “Space Force” off the ground after all… and one of its clandestine vessels might be parked on the moon.

At least that was the view being expressed by those commenting on one Scottish man’s popular YouTube channel, where he shows footage that he believes to be proof of a mysterious “triangular” object on the lunar surface.

The National recently reported that “A Scottish UFO researcher’s video of a mysterious triangle on the surface of the moon has gone viral on the internet.

“Uploaded to his Streetcap1 channel on YouTube, George Graham’s video had attracted well over 12,000 views by last night, just a few hours after it was first shown.”

Taking a look at the the YouTuber’s channel, with all due respect, it appears to be more of the usual humdrum: people talking about mysterious shapes and odd rock formations on the lunar surface, and whether some of them could be UFO craft and the like. To some, they look like rocks scattered about on the moon… to others, they could be evidence of alien life. 

As for a “Triangle TR-3B” parked on the moon, and whether or not it’s part of Trump’s so-called “Space Force,” well… let’s just say we aren’t convinced. But perhaps the saddest part of all this is that over the years, there have been a number of serious scientists who have spent time (even while on the clock working for NASA) studying anomalies that appear on not just our moon, but on moons orbiting other planets in our solar system, such as the Martian moon Phobos.

Among these was Lan Fleming, an imaging expert who processed scores of photos and footage collected by various NASA missions over the years (see here for his full educational background). Fleming was subcontracted to the Johnson Space Flight Center during the 1990s, and became known for taking an interest in the various unusual features that turned up occasionally on Earth’s moon and other orbital bodies throughout the solar system of which visual data obtained.

Sometime after the Mars Global Surveyor probe photographed the Martian moon Phobos in 1998, Fleming was contacted by a visual artist and writer named Efrain Palermo, who had been referred to Fleming by Dr. Mark Carlotto, an imaging expert who had previously lent his expertise to study of the Cydonia region on Mars. Palermo had discovered an unusual feature on Phobos, which appeared to be a large structure or other feature that cast an unusually long shadow. Fleming had noticed it too while reviewing various footage from the Mars Global Surveyor; however, he had initially interpreted the long shadow was merely due to a low sun angle relative to the position of Phobos in its orbit around Mars.

Further communication between the two led to the discoverythat some of the features on the surface of Phobos had been distorted in the images Palermo and Fleming had been analyzing, which gave the appearance of unusually long shadows. Nonetheless, after corrections were made (and these “orthorectified” images were compared with the unaltered originals from NASA), it became evident that the shadow of Palermo’s mysterious “monolith” was indeed very long.

Fleming noted the following of the strange object:

There seems to be no good reason to put the word “monolith” in quotes to describe this object. Efrain’s interpretation is absolutely correct. At the very least, this object is a monolithic block of stone, although it’s high reflectivity may indicate that it is composed of something else. But how likely is it that it’s artificial? That depends in part on how tall the object is relative to the width of its base. A block of stone several times longer than its height created from the impact of some large meteoroid would be unlikely to land on its narrow end and remain upright.

Palermo even produced images of what he estimated the rough shape and size of the object to be (which can be seen here). Fleming concluded that “Unfortunately, the Mars Global Surveyor, now in a low mapping orbit around Mars, will never have another close encounter with Phobos. That will have to remain the task of some future spacecraft.” He added (somewhat cryptically), “Given NASA’s history of avoiding any intentional examination of anomalous objects, it will probably have to happen by accident. But Phobos is a very small world, so if other spacecraft have close encounters with Phobos in the future, there is a fair chance we eventually will see this monolith again.”

The Phobos “monolith” (yes, we’re still using the quotation marks, despite Fleming’s reasonable objection to it) is but one of many genuine anomalies in our solar system that should warrant further attention. It is our contention, at very least, that such “Phobian” mysteries, as well as other notable oddities on our own moon (click here to see my article on one of these), should certainly warrant more consideration than the usual tripe that appears in tabloids these days.

When science can be applied to such mysteries, only then should they be deemed “anomalies; anything else is purely pareidolia, and is tantamount to lazy afternoon cloud-gazing.

Dit mysterieuze object werd gespot boven Washington. Volgens het leger is het in ieder geval geen raket

Afgelopen zondag is in de Amerikaanse staat Washington een mysterieus object vastgelegd op camera, meldt Q13Fox.com.

Het object werd om 03.56 uur lokale tijd gespot boven Whidbey Island, waar zich een militaire basis bevindt.

Het lijkt te gaan om een gelanceerde raket, maar een woordvoerder zei dat er geen raketten op de basis aanwezig zijn.

Zeker geen raketlancering

“Er wordt veel over gespeculeerd,” zei woordvoerder Tom Mills. “Maar het is zeker geen raketlancering.”

Een professor van de Universiteit van Washington had gespeculeerd dat het object op een raket leek.

Nog nooit

“Ik heb al veel dingen gezien in mijn leven,” zei professor Cliff Mass. “Maar nog nooit zoiets als dit.”

De American Meteor Society liet bij monde van Robert Lunsford weten dat het ook geen meteoor is.

Er bevond zich naar verluidt een helikopter in de regio die richting het gebied vloog waar de foto is gemaakt.

I have been sitting on this since yesterday morning…. My night camera picked up what clearly looks like a very large missile launch from Whidbey Island. I really wanted more information before I shared this with the public. KOMO, KING and KIRO all contacted Whidbey NAS and the Department of Defense. They all said it didn’t come from them…. They said they don’t have the facility to launch large missiles. I ran this image by Robert Lunsford of the American Meteor Society and he said it was definitely not a meteor. It looked like a missile launch to him as well. I shared this with Cliff Mass yesterday and he did a blog on it this morning. It will be interesting if anybody from Whidbey heard or saw this event. Mystery object spotted over Washington state island, military denies missile launch

A weather camera on an island in Washington state on Sunday captured a mystery object that appears to some to be a missile in ascent, Q13Fox.com reported.

The object was spotted at 3:56 a.m. over Whidbey Island, where there is a naval air station. But a spokesman from NAS Whidbey Island said there are no missile capabilities at the base.

"There's a lot of speculation around here,” Tom Mills, the spokesman, said. "But it's definitely not a missile launch."

A professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington speculated that the object looks like a missile.

“I’ve seen a lot of stuff,” Cliff Mass, the professor, said. “But nothing like this.”

There was reportedly an air ambulance helicopter in the vicinity of the northern Kitsap Peninsula that was flying at the same time the shot was taken.

Now I found this anomaly today that seems to have eyes in one of the photos. It was caught in two photos. I have seen over 100 photos of this rock in the past two weeks (rover sat here for a while), and never have I seen this anomaly in one of the photos before. Also note, the photos were taken a few hours ago, not weeks or months ago!

 

It looks like an animal caught running past the cam. It must have been very light footed or the dirt was very hard, because I don't see a trail before or after it. It could be a species similar to the lizard here on Earth that berries itself in the sand and disappears. There is one full hour between the photo of no anomaly and the anomaly. 

 

This is more evidence that life exists on Mars and NASA wants to hide it from the world. They don't have the mission to explore and share with the public. Alien life is a national security issue and therefore will never be shared with the public.
