Pascagoula native finally tells the tale of amazing close encounter
Pascagoula native finally tells the tale of amazing close encounter
For 45 years, Calvin Parker kept his mouth shut about the Pascagoula alien abduction that captured America’s attention. But now he’s ready to tell his story.
Parker, who claims he was abducted and examined by alien beings while fishing on the Pascagoula River with Charles Hickson in 1973, will hold a book signing event at Main Street Pascagoula on Oct. 11, 2018, on the 45th anniversary of the alleged abduction.
“I never really told my story,” Parker said. “Nobody has ever talked to my family about it, never talked to my friends about it. I’ve always kept it quiet.”
A few months ago, however, Parker decided to share his story through a book titled Pascagoula – The Closest Encounter: My Story.
The idea came to him after attending a funeral. Visitors saw his name on the registry and began asking questions.
“They was coming up asking a lot of questions, wanting pictures,” he said. “We left the funeral because it was taking attention away from the family, but on the way home (me and my wife) talked about writing a book.”
As fate would have it, when they returned home a publisher had left a message about a book deal.
“He told me, ‘It’s your legacy. People need to know. People want to know,’” Parker said. “He said the media always changes things. They make it a little spicier. I wanted to document this and put it in a book where it can’t be changed.”
Parker said he’s eager to kick off his book signings in Pascagoula because he owes the people of Jackson County an explanation of what happened.
“I don’t know if they believe it or not,” he said. “It don’t matter to me if you believe it or not (because) I know it happened.”
The book, should help readers make up their minds, he said.
“At least read the book and get the facts, like the polygraph test, the voice stress test, the eye witnesses, the hypnosis sessions,” he said.
The book is available for purchase for $30 through Main Street Pascagoula by emailing mainstreetpascagoula@gmail.com. The book will be available for pick-up at the book signing event.
The book signing will be held at 618 Delmas Ave. from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 11.
The book reveals all, Parker said.
“I remember everything about it,” Parker said, recounting that night in 1973.
He and Hickson, who has since died, were fishing on private property on the east bank of the Pascagoula River.
“We had seen some blue, hazy lights, and I had figured that maybe the law was coming,” he said. “We stood up and turned around, and then a real bright light appeared about the time we stood up. It was really blinding for a minute.”
He believes the blinding light was the craft’s door opening.
“We saw three figures coming toward us,” Parker recounted. “You couldn’t make it out much because of the lights, but when they got closer, you could kinda make out that they weren’t human. They were more like robotic looking.”
Two of them approached Hickson, he said, and one grabbed Parker.
“When they got a hold of me, it was like an injection,” he said. “It just took the fear and life right out of you. You couldn’t do nothing. You couldn’t talk; you couldn’t do anything but look. I couldn’t turn my head to see what was going on.”
Parker said once on board, he was put on an examination table at about a 45-degree angle.
That’s when something resembling a deck of cards with a silver bottom came out if the ceiling, he said.
“It came and hovered around my head just little bit (and) clicked four times,” he said. “I figure it was something close to an MRI.”
Then the “big ugly one” left the room, he said, and “the little feminine looking one” came inside to examine Parker.
“She pulled at my skin,” he said. “She put her fingers in my throat, nose and ears and just gave me an examination. She left the room, and the big ugly one came back in, the one I call the soldier. He came back and set us back at the river.”
Parker said he and Hickson sat on the riverbank and talked about what happened for a few minutes.
“I didn’t want to tell anyone,” he said. “But the next day, it was a media frenzy. It was national news and it still is.”
Parker believes social media has kept the abduction story alive and helped fan the flames of its popularity.
He’s been contacted by television stations and has a forthcoming radio broadcast, he said, and he wouldn’t be surprised if some movie deals come out of the book’s release.
“We’re just taking it slow and easy, not jumping into anything,” he said. “It’s been 45 years and I’ve kept my mouth shut. I kinda want to lift the cloud and lift the doubt. I just want to bring everybody together on the real facts of what happened.”

It's small. It's nimble. It's doing strange things over our heads. And Russia's new Kosmos 2521 satellite has the potential to bring the world's economy to its knees.
"We don't know for certain what it is and there is no way to verify it," State Department assistant secretary Yleem Poblete told a conference this week. "But Russian intentions with respect to this satellite are unclear and are obviously a very troubling development — particularly, when considered in concert with statements by Russia's Space Force Commander."
She said its manoeuvres indicated it could be an anti-satellite weapon.
And this has dire implications: Vital services such as the internet, television, telephone and GPS all rely on satellites. As does a swath of other services — such as weather forecasting and firefighting.
"In October of last year the Russian Ministry of Defense deployed a space object they claimed was a 'space apparatus inspector.' But its behaviour on-orbit was inconsistent with anything seen before from on-orbit inspection or space situational awareness capabilities, including other Russian inspection satellite activities," Poblete told a conference on disarmament in Switzerland.
Moscow immediately dismissed her comments.

The State Department's fears were "the same unfounded, slanderous accusations based on suspicions, on suppositions and so on," Russian diplomat Alexander Deynko told Reuters.
But Russia's Space Force Commander has already stated publicly it is developing "new prototypes" of space weapons.
Is this one of them?
Whatever the case, the Pentagon is clearly rattled.
"Although US space systems have historically maintained a technological advantage over those of potential adversaries, those potential adversaries are now actively developing way to deny our use of space in a crisis," a US Department of Defence report released earlier this month reads.
BATTLING IN ORBIT
While Poblete did not specify which Russian satellite she was talking about, military analysts believe it was one of a set launched on June 23. A month later, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced it had launched "a small-sized spacecraft has separated from a space platform in order to inspect condition of the Russian satellite."
Kosmos 2521 was believed deployed from another satellite, Kosmos 2519. Close by is another satellite, Kosmos 2523.
Exactly what these Russian satellites have been doing that is "very troubling" is unknown.
But Moscow has reportedly been investing heavily in obtaining the ability for a satellite to move around in orbit and interact with other satellites. This could give it the ability to attach spy equipment to an opponent's satellite, push it out of alignment, distort its signals, damage it, destroy it — or even potentially capture it.
Destroying a satellite, however, poses immense risks for all space flight activities. Fragments can cannon about above the Earth's atmosphere for centuries — striking other satellites, and adding their wreckage to the deadly debris fields.
For this reason, the world's militaries have been looking at 'non-kinetic' methods of putting satellites out of service.
This can involve the use of lasers or microwave guns to fry delicate electronics, or jam its signals. And the testing of any such technology would be difficult to discern from simple mechanical failures from the ground.
WEAPONISING SPACE
Russia is working on more than just space-based satellite warfare. It has also deployed, for the first time, ground-based laser batteries aimed at taking the down prying eyes above.
"The Russian Ministry of Defense recently announced that its Space Troops have received a mobile laser system which Vladimir Putin announced to the world on March 1 of this year. Russia's leader himself alluded to space weapons being 'more acceptable in the political and military respect'," Poblete said.
This refers to the Peresvet system President Vladimir Putin referred to when he announced six new 'super weapons' to the world earlier this year. The laser is mobile, networking generators, sensors and command-and-control systems packed on the back of trucks.
The laser is claimed to have the ability to shoot-down ballistic missiles in their orbital phase, as well as satellites.
Russia's space agency Roscosmos is also attempting to 'weaponise' a telescope. It wants "an optic detection system which includes a solid-state laser and a transmit/receive adaptive optical system."
It argues the laser cannon would be able to locate and identify space junk before slagging it.
It argues that there are already 22,000 dead satellites and large pieces of debris being tracked in orbit. In total, estimates place the amount of objects floating around up there at 170 million pieces.
Chinese researchers have also been exploring the use of lasers in space, with the potential of a space-based system being investigated earlier this year.
“Last night, at 12:19 a.m. Central Daylight Time, numerous eyewitnesses in the Southeast reported seeing a very bright fireball, which was also detected by all six NASA meteor cameras in the region. Analysis of the data indicates that the meteor was first seen at an altitude of 58 miles above Turkeytown, Alabama (northeast of Gadsden), moving west of north at 53,700 miles per hour. It fragmented some 18 miles above the small town of Grove Oak. Early results indicate the fireball, which was at least 40 times as bright as the full moon, was caused by a small asteroid 6 feet (2 meters) in diameter. We are still assessing the probability of the fireball producing meteorites on the ground – whether it did or not, it was an extremely bright event, seen through partly cloudy skies and triggering every camera and sensor operated by the Meteoroid Environment Office in the region.”
The Mars Curiosity rover captured images of this strange object on the planet’s surface on Monday. What is it? NASA scientists have figured it out.

This small object got the attention of Mars Curiosity mission scientists this past week. NASA scientists say they were finally able to figure out what the strange fragment is.
Images captured on Monday (August 13, 2018) by the Curiosity rover’s camera show an object that looks perhaps like masking tape or a piece of peeled-off paint. Scientists initially speculated that the mysterious chunk, which they referred to as Pettegrove Point Foreign Object Debris, was a piece of spacecraft debris, or part of Curiosity itself. But now they’ve determined that it’s of natural origin.
It was analyzed by Curiosity’s ChemCam, an instrument that uses a laser and spectrometer. Results showed the object is a very thin flake of rock. “False Alarm,” said the mission team, who had initially though they’d found some kind of interesting object on the surface of Mars.
Although it turns out that this object isn’t related to the search of past or present life on Mars, Curiosity has made significant discoveries recently. For example, the rover found evidence on Martian rocks which suggests the neighbor planet could have supported ancient life. The rover’s data reveal a water lake inside Gale Crater held all the ingredients necessary for life, including chemical building blocks and energy sources.
Curiosity is also observing the Martian atmosphere to monitor the current dust storm on Mars, which is now abating. The plutonium-fueled rover has been exploring the Mars surface since August 2012.
Bottom line: A strange-looking object photographed by the Mars Curiosity rover has turned out to be a piece of rock.

Odd Fireball '40 times as bright as full moon' lights up Alabama sky
NASA has released video of "a very bright" fireball that lit up the sky over Alabama just after midnight Friday morning. The official time of sighting was 12:19 a.m. CDT.
The fireball, which is NASA's word for a very bright meteor, was described as "at least 40 times as bright as the Full Moon." It was first seen 58 miles above Turkeytown, Ala. northeast of Gadsden, according to NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office at Huntsville's Marshall Space Flight Center.
The fireball was moving northwest at 53,700 miles per hour and fragmented about 18 miles above the small town of Grove Oak, NASA said.
"Early results indicate the (meteor) was caused by a small asteroid 6 feet in diameter," NASA said. "We are still assessing the probability of the fireball producing meteorites on the ground."
"Whether it did or not," NASA said, "it was an extremely bright event seen through partly cloudy skies and triggering every camera and sensor operated by the Meteroid Environment Office in the region."
NASA talks about one object (meteor) but there are two bright objects which seem to come together and then explode, which you can see in the first video.

Alien Orb Caught On Animal Forest Cam Observing Deer, Aug 2018, UFO Sighting News.
Alien Orb Caught On Animal Forest Cam Observing Deer, Aug 2018, UFO Sighting News.
Date of sighting: August 17, 2018 Location of sighting: Bentonia, Mississippi, USA This report was just sent to me on Twitter messages by JB. This deer camera is an infrared cam. That means at night, infrared LEDs at the front of the cam light up the area in front of it for about 20-40 meters. The infrared LEDs light is invisible to the naked eye so humans and animals cannot see it. This technique of catching deer also happens to catch anything cloaked or not cloaked in the vicinity. Nothing can escape infrared. As you see from this alien orb that is spying on the feeding deer and their behavior. Orbs are used like humans use drones. Perhaps aliens may use them because our atmosphere is not safe for them to breath or our gravity, suns light or some other environmental phenomenon may harm them. So exploring with a drone seems much safer for a species that may live thousands or even millions of years in one lifetime. Scott C. Waring
The following story reports that some of the earliest galaxies ever formed are on our comics doorstep... I thought that relativity meant that looking at the oldest galaxies meant looking across the largest distances and vice versa due to expansion.. So can someone explain why 13 billion year old galaxies sit just out side the milky way when they should be 13 billion light years away.. I think?
The galaxies began to form when the universe was only about 100 million years old (Durham University/Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies/Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics)

Gaten in gegevens
We kregen code oranje.

Evidence that confirms the CIA killed the doctor to prevent him from publishing a book about being the US presidents physician and the classified talks they had about him piloting a 300 meter long UFO. His death was made to send a message to the publisher who probably was waiting for the book transcript or was already reviewing it. Can the doctor of the US president write a book? Of course and some have, such as White House doctor Connie Mariano who worked for President Clinton. Why would the former US president reveal secrets to the doctor? Easy, Because George HW Bush was elderly (age 94 now) and super proud of his son about one single act of father and son love and their passion to fly. The son wanted to be just like his dad in all ways from piloting to being US president. Why was the doctor killed? Because on January 8, 2008, US President George W Bush, a military jet pilot made the bullheaded decision to fly an ultra top secret USAF 300 meter long spacecraft made with alien technology. Why? To impress his father (former US President George HW Bush, former military pilot who was living in the famous Bush Ranch at the time.
You see, President Bush was near the top secret US military base in the Black Sea off of Turkey that week. All Evidence points to Bush being in the Middle East during this time. Bush Timeline Here. January 8, 2008: President Bush releases a statement noting that the following day will be the third anniversary of the signing of the comprehensive peace agreement in Sudan and states the commitment on the part of the US to continuing to adhere to the agreement. January 9, 2008: President Bush attends the welcoming ceremony at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel during the afternoon. January 10, 2008: President Bush delivers an address at the King David Hotel, Jerusalem on the peace process in the Middle East during the afternoon. You see, 200-300 meter UFOs have been seen at an island in the Sea of Marmara off of Turkey. Just 700 miles from the King Davide Hotel. Dozens of hours of night footage recorded by a security guard don't lie. (video below).
I don't believe that the suspected killer Joseph James Pappas (age 65) did it by himself, but was programmed by CIA phychologists to do the assassination. The CIA created a program called MKUltra which was a secret project to gain mind control of anyone. As proof, I am include a page from the declassified MLUltra report below. Which is 100% proof the organisation existed from 1953 to 1977, but changes its name and went on to become an assassination programming unit afterwords. They are responsible for JFKs assassination. Click here to learn about MKUltra project. Also Project Artichoke, Project Operation Midnight Climax, Project MKNAOMI,Operation Pandora, BLUEBIRD, MKOFTEN, was also a CIA mind control project. The CIA picked Joseph James Pappas because his mother died in the doctors care 20 years earlier, he had a motive...the CIA programming unit needed a suspect like this. This and his police and weapons experience made him perfect for the program. The CIA took him and mentally programmed him to do, think and act a certain way...and at the end to kill himself. So all evidence is gone. The CIA did their job well. The CIA had to kill off President Bushes doctor, because Bush leaked many details about the alien tech USAF 300 meter ship he flew to the doctor. And there is numerous doctors of presidents who wrote books about it...the CIA knew that the doctor was going to write such a book or had already submitted a book for publication, and wanted to send a message to the family and to the publisher to be quiet. This is why doctor Mark Hassknecht was assassinated by a CIA mind controlled Joseph James Pappas. Joseph didn't want to do it, but the CIA programmed him to be a puppet to kill for them and then to kill himself to destroy the evidence. This is the truth, nothing but the truth, so help me god. Most of us are lucky to catch a glimpse of a stunning aurora painting the skies once or twice in our lives.
But living on the International Space Station has a curious side effect, giving astronauts incredible odds of spotting the beautiful phenomenon. European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst has been aboard the space station since June as part of his second trip to space, and on Aug. 10, he shared incredible photos of the bright green waves as seen from above. "Mind-blowing, every single time," he wrote in a tweet accompanying the photo.

Mind-blowing, every single time. I wonder what early explorers thought when they first saw an aurora without ever having heard about it... #ExploreFarther#Horizons
Auroras, also known as the northern and southern lights, are caused by charged particles streaming out of the sun that eventually hit Earth's atmosphere, according to NASA. There, the particles interact with oxygen and nitrogen molecules to produce light. The result is a ghostly green wave dancing across the sky near the poles.
But while auroras are beautiful, particles streaming off the sun can have plenty of less aesthetic consequences. They can put astronaut health at risk, damage satellites in orbit around the Earth and, in the most severe cases, cause blackouts in terrestrial power grids.
That's part of why NASA is so excited about its newest mission, the Parker Solar Probe, which launched toward the sun on Sunday (Aug. 12). Once the spacecraft arrives at our star later this year, it will study the highly charged particles that leave the sun and end up in our neighborhood.
Parker can't give us more auroras, but if it can help scientists better understand and predict the sun's activities, it might help people be in the right place at the right time to see the stunning view.
Yleem Poblete, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance, raised the concerns about the Russian “space apparatus inspector” at a meeting of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Switzerland on Aug. 14, 2018. Russia publicly announced the launch of this satellite in June 2017, but insists that its only function is to inspect the country’s own space-based systems for damage or other possible issues and potentially service and repair them.
The Russian satellite’s “behavior on-orbit was inconsistent with anything seen before from on-orbit inspection or space situational awareness capabilities, including other Russian inspection satellite activities,” Poblete said at the gathering. “We are concerned with what appears to be very abnormal behavior by a declared ‘space apparatus inspector.’ We don’t know for certain what it is and there is no way to verify it.”
When Poblete mentioned “other” activities, she was likely referring to three additional inspector satellites that the Russians launched between 2013 and 2015. These space-based systems, also known as Kosmos-2491, Kosmos-2499, and Kosmos-2504, conducted a number of apparent tests, getting relatively close to various pieces of space debris, before going dormant in 2016. The next year, Russia turned one of them back on and sent it near to a portion of a Chinese weather satellite, which that country had destroyed in a ground-based anti-satellite test in 2007.
The video below, from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, shows one concept for using a small repair satellite to service other space-based systems.
Now it’s important to note that the concept of a small inspector satellite isn’t new and makes good sense. Sending manned missions to examine satellites and other space objects and potentially make repairs or modifications has historically been costly and complicated.
At the same time, fixing or making modifications to a satellite in space saves the trouble of building a replacement and paying to launch it into orbit. Famously, the United States sent astronauts to fix the Hubble Space Telescopein 1993 after NASA discovered a fault in the system’s main mirror.
Having a semi-autonomous, space-based repair crew of sorts on call could simplify the arrangement significantly. If nothing else, these robotic inspectors could assess the issue quickly so personnel on the ground could make an informed decision about how to proceed.
The problem is that any satellite that can maneuver itself very close to another one, and may have small arms or probes to physically interact with its target, is inherently capable of being a weapon. Any such repair system could easily smash sensitive optics and other components, or simply slam into the target, acting as a kinetic weapon. Their small size means that their terrestrial operators might be able to instruct them to try to hide near other objects, especially among the ever-expanding field of "space junk" floating around the earth, as well.
A notional Robotic Servicing Vehicle that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has been working on. This kind of space-based system could also function as a weapon.
They might also be able to carry electronic warfare jammers or directed energy weapons that could blind optics or prevent a satellite from communicating information, including warnings about incoming missiles or vital intelligence data, to facilities down below. The “inspectors” could act as small intelligence agents, intercepting transmissions aimed at space-based communications systems. In that case, they might potentially send out spoofed signals with confusing messages or false navigational coordinates, as well.
Russia has since denounced Assistant Secretary of State Poblete’s comments as “unfounded, slanderous accusations based on suspicions.” However, statements from the country’s own Ministry of Defense regarding their newest inspector’s rendezvous with Kosmos-2519, another military satellite that itself has an unknown mission, strongly indicate that this satellite has a robust set of capabilities that could have a secondary military application.
“In trials involving controlling the maneuvering defense satellite, ground, and orbital communication systems were tested, and methods involving ballistic estimates and new software were employed,” Russia’s Izvestia newspaper reported based on information from the Ministry of Defense. “The space forces proved their ability to ensure the satellite's automatic undocking from the platform, the remote control of its flight, and the activation of the satellite payload, including surveillance hardware, data transfer to Earth, and data processing.”
For years, experts and others, including us at The War Zone, have pointed out the clear threat that these dual-use satellites might pose. The United States and China have and still are both actively exploring advanced space-based inspector-type systems, as well, which might set the stage for an even more complex situation that could involve groups of small satellites attacking and defending against each other. The U.S. military is also working on cost-effective, reusable hypersonic space planes, including the U.S. Air Force's secretive X-37B, that could rapidly deploy small satellites for various functions or otherwise perform their own offensive missions in space.

“The potential for a serious incident in outer space is being driven by advances in technology that challenge the existing rules and norms governing space activity,” Jeffery Lewis, now in charge of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, wrote all the way back in 2004. “Micro-satellite proximity operations would be best regulated with confidence-building measures in outer space.”
More than a decade on, international rules and regulations have yet to catch up with these continued developments. Assistant Secretary of State Poblete made her comments earlier in August 2014 specifically to underscore the U.S. government’s continued opposition to a Russian-Chinese proposal for a Treaty on Prevention of the Placement of Weapons in Outer Space and of the Threat or Use of Force Against Outer Space Objects, conveniently abbreviated PWTT.
“How do we verify what countries say their spacecraft are doing?” she asked rhetorically. “What would be enough information to prove what the purpose of an object is?”
US Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance Yleem Poblete.
The U.S. government’s position is that the PWTT is not sufficient because it does not explicitly prohibit the development or test of space-based systems, such as the inspectors, with a potential anti-satellite role. This could let countries stockpile a “breakout capability” if they ever decided to abandon the agreement.
The proposed agreement also does not ban ground-based or air-launched anti-satellite systems, which Russia and China have been developing, as well. In February 2018, the Chinese military tested what they described as an anti-ballistic missile defense interceptor, but which might be a cover for an anti-satellite weapon. Russia has publicly said that it is working on anti-satellite interceptors and directed energy weapons.
Russia and China, as well as other critics of the American position, counter by noting that the U.S. government is actively looking to militarize space and put actual weapons into orbit, ostensibly for anti-ballistic missile defense. The two countries have already responded negatively to the U.S. military’s plans for a possible space-focused military branch.
A Russian Beriev A-60 aircraft, which carries a laser weapon in its nose and that Russia has said may be able to blind or otherwise disable enemy satellites.
Without any such agreement, what constitutes an attack on a nation’s interest in space has remained up for debate. It’s a gray area made more complicated by the likelihood that the United States and its potential opponents have satellites in orbit that they don’t acknowledge are vital to national security or are up there at all.
“Is jamming an attack? Is a laser an attack? Does it have to be a kinetic hit on a satellite to be an attack?” Douglas Loverro, then-Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, asked during a talk in 2016. “It’s really difficult to go ahead and justify how you might attack somebody’s homeland if they’ve taken out a satellite that you don’t even admit exists.”
Unfortunately, it is clear that basic definitions of what constitutes conflict in space, if nothing else, are necessary now, more than ever. Without them, there is only an increasing possibility for dangerous miscalculations.
The activities of Russia’s latest inspector satellite, China’s own anti-satellite developments, and the United States’ plans for space-based ballistic missile defense weapons all show that these issues will only continue to become more pronounced in the future, whether there is any sort of international treaty that seeks to govern military activity in space or not.
