UFO splits into multiple, pulsing orbs over the heads of travelers.
UFO splits into multiple, pulsing orbs over the heads of travelers.
Author Shanna Swenson writes romance, but she has some other, stranger stories to tell. Shanna recently told me about a UFO sighting she and her husband experienced a few years ago in Georgia. At the time, Shanna, her husband, and a cousin were driving home from dinner on a clear December night. They were making their way down a two-lane road on the outskirts of Cumming, where she and her husband live. At some point, she saw an unidentifiable red light in the sky. She pointed the orb out to her husband, and it suddenly began splitting into multiple lights. (Click here to see an example.) Any thoughts that the light might be a cell tower vanished as the red UFO became six pinkish-orange orbs.
Shanna’s husband pulled the truck over, and the travelers got out to watch the sky. In stark silence, the trio observed, spellbound, as the orbs began a slow, rhythmic pulse and moved farther apart. No motor hum, no sound of any kind issued from the UFOs. As they watched, the glowing array continued toward them and passed directly over their heads. Shanna says, “they flew over our heads and as quickly as they appeared, they vanished! We were all completely mystified.”
The author explained that while not desolate, the road they traveled that night is outside the city limits. Her sighting occurred around 11:00 pm and lasted only a few minutes. It is not unusual that they encountered no other traffic during the event, but other sightings are occasionally reported in the area.
UFO Formation Patterns
Shanna states that they were surprised and curious about what they saw, but they were not afraid. Unlike some reports, she had no sense that the UFOs were aware of being observed. The group had none of the aftereffects sometimes reported following a UFO sighting, such as nightmares or lost time.
I asked Shanna if the orbs formed a pattern of any kind during the sighting. She said there was no discernable pattern, but more like the single light was “breaking apart into a fan-like spread.”
I was curious if Shanna recognized any patterns because of a theory put forth by filmmaker Damon T. Berry in 2015. In his YouTube film Alien Contact, Berry claims UFOs are trying to communicate with humans using the most basic language possible. This language is neither music nor math, as some famous movies depict. Rather, Berry says, UFO language consists of constellation patterns. No more basic language could exist, he says, than showing humans the star patterns in their own skies. The filmmaker says it is common for groups of UFOs to change patterns five to seven times during a sighting. He believes this communication was not effective before the advent of cell phones, before the patterns could be routinely recorded and analyzed. Berry says UFO arrays form the patterns, then often repeat the series again during the same event.
Constellation Arrays
Berry’s film has been criticized for its quality and repetition, but the point it makes concerning UFO arrays is clear. Repeatedly, regardless of location, UFOs are seen forming similar patterns. This fact is easily proven by the most cursory online search for UFO pictures and videos. I noticed one pattern even before discovering Berry’s video–before I understood the shapes they form might be a communication. In several videos, I noticed UFOs forming a pattern that looks like either the Big or Little Dipper. According to Berry, other outlines formed by UFOs include Orion, Pegasus, and Cygnus.
Each of these constellations and asterisms (star formations contained in constellations) has been recognized by humans for thousands of years. Berry believes each star grouping features one or more significant elements known by any intelligent race, human or alien. The Dippers, for example, rotate about Polaris, the North Star. Polaris represents true north for Earth. Dubhe and Merak, the outer stars forming the bowl of the Big Dipper (part of Ursa Major) point to the last star in the handle of the Little Dipper—Polaris.
Cygnus (also known as the Swan) is sometimes called the Northern Cross. The constellation contains Cygnus X-1, a bright object that radiates X-rays. The X-rays result from a black hole and a blue star rotating around one another. The black hole pulls gasses from the star which heat up and emit X-rays.
Pegasus is shaped like a square. It is an asterism that can be used by stargazers to locate Andromeda.
Orion and the Pyramids
Last but not least is Orion. Specifically, Orion’s belt. The three stars comprising the belt are easily detectable and often used to locate other celestial bodies. How many pictures have we seen of three blue stars hanging in a dark sky over the pyramids? How many times have we been told the pyramids align with the stars in Orion’s belt?
Damon Berry thinks the pyramids of Giza were built long ago to warn alien spacefarers that Earth is “taken,” that intelligent life inhabits the planet, that this blue orb is not available for use or colonization. If Berry is right, and alien visitors are communicating by forming constellation patterns in our skies, how do we respond? What do we say? How do we say it? A lot more research is needed.

It’s almost like Prometheus was prophesying the findings published today. In the film, researchers discover the same set of symbols depicting a single star constellation in multiple (newly discovered) ancient caves across the planet. In today’s study, researchers analyzed already-known archeological sites, finding a set of symbols representing an array of constellations that track to our night sky today.
A number of cave paintings across Europe were revealed to depict representations of astrological symbols in a study published this week. Because of these findings, it’s been suggested by researchers from the University of Edinburgh that our common-knowledge history’s in need of an update. “These findings support a theory of multiple comet impacts over the course of human development,” said study leader Dr Martin Sweatman. “[This data] will probably revolutionize how prehistoric populations are seen.”
Once a set of astrological symbols was found in caves and other ancient structures across Europe, these scientists used rabiocarbon testing to place or re-place them in history. They then tracked the movement of the Earth and the probable view that these ancient people had at the time they were carving and/or painting these symbols. If the symbols and their positions did not match up with the constellations as they appeared at the time the symbols were made, these researchers’ interpretations would be false.
But, as the radiocarbon dates and the constellation positions of their associated symbols show, the two are well within the bounds of reasonable correlation. The software the researchers used was Stellarium (for archaeoastronomical dating).
Findings appeared on “many of the most well-known archaeological finds in Europe and the Near East,” including the following:
• The Lion Man of Hohlenstein-Stadel, southern Germany circa 38,000 BC • Chauvet, northern Spain circa 34,000 BC • Lascaux, southern France circa 15,000 BC • Altamira, northern Spain circa 14,000 BC • Göbekli Tepe, southern Turkey circa 10,000 BC • Çatalhöyük, southern Turkey circa 7000 BC
They used such structures as the Vulture Stone at Göbekli Tepe, the animal symbols at Neolithic Çatalhöyük, and Palaeolithic cave art at multiple locations throughout Europe. The paper cites the Aurignacian Lion Man of Hohlenstein-Stadel, Germany, Magdelanean Altamira in northern Spain, and the Shaft Scene at Lascaux, France.
Above you’ll see ancient Anatolian bear symbols appearing at three separate ancient locations. One of these alone can be interpreted as many different possible symbols – but when seen together, they become clear.
“Early cave art shows that people had advanced knowledge of the night sky within the last ice age,” said Dr Martin Sweatman, of the University of Edinburgh’s School of Engineering. “Intellectually, they were hardly any different to us today.”
The chances that these symbols, dates, and constellations could match up so perfectly is extremely unlikely. According to the study, “The probability that this zodiac could match by pure chance the radiocarbon dates of Palaeolithic cave art and the 2 shrines at Çatalhöyük is 1 in 150 million.” Further, when combined outcomes of all statistical tests on this study are combined, “we find that the probability that all these correlations could have occurred by pure chance is around 1 in 15,000 trillion.”
“Therefore,” said these researchers, “we have cracked this ancient zodiacal code.”
As such, Hipparchus of Ancient Greece is no longer the first to discover effects caused by the gradual shift of the rotational axis of our Earth. Precession of the equinoxes wasn’t discovered by Hipparchus around 120 BC, nay! Instead, “this level of astronomical sophistication was actually known at least 36 thousand years earlier.”
Break out your history books, it’s time to do a few edits.
You can learn more about this subject in a paper authored by Martin B. Sweatman and Alistair Coombs called “Decoding European Palaeolithic art: Extremely ancient knowledge of precession of the equinoxes.” This paper was published on November 27th, 2018 in the Athens Journal of History. You can find this paper with code arXiv:1806.00046 [physics.hist-ph] as of this week. This paper was originally submitted by researchers on the 31st of May, 2018.

This might be something to consider following. It will be interesting to find out what this shiny rock is and why it is so different than anything else they have seen so far. They think it might be a meteorite but they will only know once the chemical analysis is completed. Kind of cool though!
The Curiosity team has a pretty good guess as to what it is.
Top-secret military test? Eerie footage shows mysterious UFO 'feeding on lightning'
Top-secret military test? Eerie footage shows mysterious UFO 'feeding on lightning'
A MYSTERIOUS black triangle "aircraft" has been spotted "feeding on lightning" during a storm - sparking theories that the UFO is the TR-3B - a top-secret US military aircraft built with alien technology.
Shocking footage has captured what appears to be ablack triangle UFOconsuming a lightning storm in order to "charge its batteries". According to a video uploaded onto YouTube, the UFO is "feeding on the energy of 200,000 ampere lightning strikes". The caption on the bizare footage, captured in the middle of a major lightning storm, dated the incident to the 22 November.
In the video, lightning strikes the triangular object from several different angles.
Users online speculated that the object could be the notorious TR3B military aircraft, amid a spike in sightings of the fabled black triangle technology.
The TR3B is "a terrestrial aircraft that was built on re-engineered technology from an extra-terrestrial civilization when its aircraft crash-landed into earth".
Legend claims that the triangle aircraft are "invisible to radar" due to a field of anti-gravity around the ship.
Several sightings of the apparent black triangle aircraft over the US has led to suggestions that it is being used for surveillance missions.

According to UFO Today, "this wasn't the first time a UFO was caught during a lightning storm."
They posted on their website: "Back in 2017, a UFO was caught on camera when it was hit by a gigantic lightning strike in the US."
Skeptics argue that there is no evidence to suggest that the object is a UFO.
Instead, they posit that the object is not an alien UFO or military experiment but simply "dirt on the camera lens".
A floating 'cigar-shaped' mass has been spotted in the skies above Texas and has sparked fears it may be a UFO.
Footage of the motionless mass over the town of Keller confused locals and was shared by YouTube channel 'TexasUFOs'.
While it's not exactly clear what the object is, a number of explanations have been suggested - including a blimp, a cloud, a weather balloon as well as a potential extraterrestrial visitor.
It is claimed the blimp-like sighting was stationary in the air for approximately 20 minutes. One viewer, Tom Lilli, presented a novel answer to the mystery. He said: 'Could be the remnants of the sunset behind a stratus cloud deck. Your just seeing the top of the sun'
An unidentified witness told the website: 'It was the oddest thing I've ever seen.'
'I watched it for about 20 minutes. It didn't move. I don't think I've ever seen anything in the sky stay that still before, not even for a few seconds, let alone 20 minutes.'
Commentators pointed out the remarkable similarities of the sighting to a blimp.
Administrators of the YouTube claim that a Goodyear blimp was not meant to be in the region at the time.
It is claimed the blimp-like sighting was stationary in the air for approximately 20 minutes.
One viewer, Nolberto Cales, said: 'That is the classic Cigar shaped UFO that i saw in the mid 90's over Reading PA, thank you for sharing!'

Nigel Watson author of the UFO Investigations Manual, told MailOnline: 'When something is seen for so long and stationary in the sky it indicates there is some form of mundane explanation for it.
'In this case it could be the sun reflecting off a balloon and since it is not in sharp focus it looks cigar shaped.
'Or, as the witness originally thought, it could have been a cloud rather than an extraterrestial spaceship.'

WHAT DID BUZZ ALDRIN SAY ABOUT HIS 'UFO ENCOUNTER'?
While UFO enthusiasts have long clung to Buzz Aldrin's story of a strange light appearing alongside his spacecraft in 1969, the Apollo 11 astronaut does not think what he saw was an alien.
'On Apollo 11 in route to the Moon, I observed a light out the window that appeared to be moving alongside us. There were many explanations of what that could be, other than another spacecraft from another country or another world - it was either the rocket we had separated from, or the 4 panels that moved away when we extracted the lander from the rocket and we were nose to nose with the two spacecraft.
'So in the close vicinity, moving away, were 4 panels. And i feel absolutely convinced that we were looking at the sun reflected off of one of these panels. Which one? I don't know. So technically, the definition could be "unidentified."
'We well understood exactly what that was. And when we returned, we debriefed and explained exactly what we had observed.
'And I felt that this had been distributed to the outside world, the outside audience, and apparently it wasn't, and so many years later, I had the time in an interview to disclose these observations, on another country's television network. And the UFO people in the United States were very very angry with me, that i had not given them the information. It was not an alien. Extraordinary observations require extraordinary evidence.
'That's what Carl Sagan said. There may be aliens in our Milky Way galaxy, and there are billions of other galaxies. The probability is almost CERTAIN that there is life somewhere in space.
'It was not that remarkable, that special, that unusual, that life here on earth evolved gradually, slowly, to where we are today.
But the distances involved in where some evidence of life may be, they may be hundreds of light years away.

A Keller resident saw the mysterious bright object in the sky last week. It didn't move for 20 minutes, the witness said.
At first, the white object in the sky looked like a cloud. A weather balloon, perhaps ?
The motionless, cigar-shaped object spotted last week near Fort Worth left the witness stumped. And a video of the sighting has since gone viral, opening the door to UFO theories online.
Keller residents said they saw a mysterious, rod or cigar-shaped object in the sky last week. The object, which appeared to be glowing, was still for about 20 minutes, the witness said.
Media: TexasUFOs
"It was the oddest thing I've ever seen," the unidentified witness said, according to their report to Texas UFOs, a website that tracks mysterious UFO sightings throughout the state. "I watched it for about 20 minutes. It didn't move. I don't think I've ever seen anything in the sky stay that still before, not even for a few seconds, let alone 20 minutes."
Several people commented on the YouTube video guessing it could be a blimp. However, a Texas UFOs administrator said they couldn't find any information the Goodyear blimp was scheduled to be in Keller on Nov. 18, the day of the sighting.
Further, the witness said it sat motionless in the sky for about 20 minutes, and similar UFO sightings were reported in Brownsville in August 2016 and El Paso in August 2018.
A few people went along for the ride on YouTube, with one commenter comparing the footage to "the classic cigar-shaped UFO" he saw in the mid 90's over Reading, Pennsylvania.
Is Russia Hiding An Underwater Extraterrestrial Civilization?[2018]
Is Russia Hiding An Underwater Extraterrestrial Civilization?[2018]
According to a very controversial theory during the era of the Soviet Union, there was a peculiar submarine activity in Russia that involved a hidden underwater extraterrestrial civilization. Apparently, the Russian officials decided to keep these issues as a top-secret. However, two researchers, Paul Stonehill and Phillip Mantle have determined to put two and two together and finally resolve the mystery.
As a subject of their inquiry, these two researchers took the secrecy that revolves around an underwater extraterrestrial civilization that was allegedly confirmed by a large number of witnesses.
Stonehill and Mantle connected the peculiar events to some passenger aircraft produced by underwater UFO movements.
Then again, eyewitnesses have reported seeing unusual creatures and objects in the sea. Among the most fascinating accounts is the one of Major General V. Demyanenko, a Russian navy commander. According to him, he and his divers detected a type of humanoid aliens who were famous as the ‘swimmers’.
Supposedly, these three-meters-high beings appeared from an underwater tunnel in the Russian territory of Siberia. They also had silver uniforms and round helmets.
Despite the attempts of capturing one of the creatures, the divers failed because all of the creatures protected themselves with a very strong power.
The two researchers also investigated the story of the head of the intelligence department of Russia on a fleet of the Pacific. Namely, Admiral Domislovsky reported seeing a 900 meters long object in the ocean. Stonehill and Mantle further investigated many reports by other ex-military commanders. All of them involved an alleged underwater extraterrestrial civilization within the infamous Bermuda Triangle.
Mantle stated this is not the first time he has heard stories about a supernatural activity surrounding the Atlantic Ocean.
However, the theory which explains the weird occurrences around the Bermuda Triangle is often dismissed by the official domain. Why? We still don’t know.

Neil Armstrong Claims: “Their Ships Were Far Superior To Ours”
Neil Armstrong Claims: “Their Ships Were Far Superior To Ours”
Neil Armstrong was the first man to ever set foot on the Moon. History will forever remember him. However, during a NASA symposium, the legendary astronaut commented something which prompted opinions that extraterrestrials walked on the lunar surface too.
Many of us have wondered: What is the reason NASA keeps refusing going back to the Moon?
The Apollo missions have so many mysteries hiding behind them. According to many ufologists, the real cause NASA decided to end them is because the astronauts encountered something rather otherworldly.
As reports say, Armstrong stated in an interview that advanced alien civilizations sensed the astronauts’ presence on the moon during the Apollo 11 program. Allegedly, these beings exposed themselves, clarifying humankind is not welcome on the moon.
Video 1:
Armstrong: It was incredible … of course, we had always known there was a possibility … the fact is, we were warned off. There was never any questions then of a space station or a moon city.
Professor: How do you mean “warned off”?
Armstrong: I can’t go into details, except to say that their ships were far superior to ours both in size and technology – Boy, were they big! … and menacing … No, there is no question of a space station.
Armstrong: Naturally – NASA was committed at that time, and couldn’t risk a panic on earth…. But it really was a quick scoop and back again. (Above Top Secret, p. 186)
According to the rest of the report, Neil Armstrong also came upon some structures on the moon which looked like buildings definitely not created by a man.
Many believe there is even a footage to prove this. However, it was banned in order not to cause a public chaos.
One easy explanation why NASA doesn’t want to go back might be the fear of this alleged advanced civilization. Neil Armstrong says this concern is what made the rest of the Apollo missions to be very quick.
There is a video on YouTube, allegedly taken in 1969 by Neil Armstrong which shows ancient ‘alien’ structures on the moon. Could it be the proof we need to show we are not alone? What do you think?
Area 51 Scientist Reveals On Deathbed: UFOs Are Real & Aliens Work For US Government
Area 51 Scientist Reveals On Deathbed: UFOs Are Real & Aliens Work For US Government
A top aerospace Area 51 scientist who died this summer blew the whistle of multiple unbelievable details. According to him, UFOs are real and as a matter of fact, the people who now work in the US government are the aliens that traveled back here in their flying saucers. While being on deathbed, this scientist gave a strange interview in which he claims to have confidential information about the US government’s UFO program
Boyd Bushman is a scientist who worked for Lockheed-Martin, Hughes Aircraft and many other famous companies. His career is as long as 40 years and his prominence relies on many awards he won within the years.
Other reports even attribute him to developing the Stinger missile, the shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile which was part of multiple conflicts in the past 30 years.
Although Bushman died the last August. However, while on his deathbed, he presented an eerie interview which went viral on YouTube with over 1 million views.
The notoriety of the video shouldn’t surprise you at all. Basically, all the things he talks about have a speculative yet mysterious nature which can easily attract the human mind.
In the video, Bushman tells his story of being a top-secret worker. His duty was to ‘reverse engineer’ UFO technology for employment by the United States military. However, the claims he states reach even a much more radical level.
Bushman also demonstrates numerous photos of UFOs and aliens who died in the infamous Area 51 military base in Nevada desert.
Area 51 was established in 1955 to be a trial territory for the most classified project of that time, the U2 spy plane. Ever since then, this place remained to be one of the most cloak-and-dagger military investigation plants.
Given the secretive nature of the technology behind the walls of Area 51, this base has undergone a series of conspiracies. Mostly, the theories incorporate UFOs and otherworldly beings as captives that rest in this area.
From time to time, new people who claim to know hidden data from the area emerge to tell incredible stories. These accounts often involve details of UFO research projects that are occurring in this facility.
Many of the insiders don’t have a confirmed trustworthiness. But, in comparison, Bushman’s disclosures seem to offer a larger credibility because he came forward a little before he died.
One of his assertions was that the aliens inside Area 51 came from a planet known as Quintumnia. Furthermore, he said they have an incredible technology system which allows them to arrive here in only 45 days.
He described their flying saucers measure around 38 feet across. But, most likely, the most shocking claim was that 18 of the aliens are 250 years old and work for the U.S. government.
Is Bushman telling the truth that will change the viewpoint of humankind? Or he was just an old person who lost his mind or wanted to gain fame? Watch the bizarre interview and tell us your opinion.
NASAInSight✔@NASAInSight
Steadily easing into my workflow. It’s been a busy few days and now, a new picture of Mars without the camera lens cover. Plus, a new view from my robotic arm camera.
Some of the world’s oldest cave paintings have revealed how ancient people had relatively advanced knowledge of astronomy.
The artworks, at sites across Europe, are not simply depictions of wild animals, as was previously thought.
Instead, the animal symbols represent star constellations in the night sky, and are used to represent dates and mark events such as comet strikes, analysis suggests.
They reveal that, perhaps as far back as 40,000 years ago, humans kept track of time using knowledge of how the position of the stars slowly changes over thousands of years.
The findings suggest that ancient people understood an effect caused by the gradual shift of Earth’s rotational axis.
Discovery of this phenomenon, called precession of the equinoxes, was previously credited to the ancient Greeks.
Around the time that Neanderthals became extinct, and perhaps before mankind settled in Western Europe, people could define dates to within 250 years, the study shows.
Ancient insights
The findings indicate that the astronomical insights of ancient people were far greater than previously believed.
Their knowledge may have aided navigation of the open seas, with implications for our understanding of prehistoric human migration.
European sites
Researchers from the Universities of Edinburgh and Kent studied details of Palaeolithic and Neolithic art featuring animal symbols at sites in Turkey, Spain, France and Germany.
They found all the sites used the same method of date-keeping based on sophisticated astronomy, even though the art was separated in time by tens of thousands of years.
Significant event
Researchers clarified earlier findings from a study of stone carvings at one of these sites – Gobekli Tepe in modern-day Turkey – which is interpreted as a memorial to a devastating comet strike around 11,000 BC.
This strike was thought to have initiated a mini ice-age known as the Younger Dryas period.
They also decoded what is probably the best known ancient artwork – the Lascaux Shaft Scene in France.
The work, which features a dying man and several animals, may commemorate another comet strike around 15,200 BC, researchers suggest.
Painting dates
The team confirmed their findings by comparing the age of many examples of cave art – known from chemically dating the paints used – with the positions of stars in ancient times as predicted by sophisticated software.
The world’s oldest sculpture, the Lion-Man of Hohlenstein-Stadel Cave, from 38,000 BC, was also found to conform to this ancient time-keeping system.
This study was published in Athens Journal of History.
Early cave art shows that people had advanced knowledge of the night sky within the last ice age. Intellectually, they were hardly any different to us today. These findings support a theory of multiple comet impacts over the course of human development, and will probably revolutionise how prehistoric populations are seen.

Wetenschappers ontdekken 40.000 jaar oude sterrenkaarten in grotten in heel Europa. Waren prehistorische mensen even slim als wij?
Sweatman.
Pilots never want their passengers to worry unnecessarily and hate being made fun of by other pilots, so it’s rare that they report seeing UFOs to air traffic control during a flight, especially when it triggers an incident report with their name on it. That being the case, it seems to be happening more often. Earlier in November, British Airways pilots flying over the west coast of Ireland reported seeing“bright lights” moving “at a very high speed”and called them in to the Shannon Air Traffic Control, as did pilots of two other planes. The Irish Aviation Authority is still investigating the incident and it remains unsolved. Last week, pilots for Nolinor Aviation reported a UFO in Canada over north Baffin Island in the northernmost territory of Nunavut … an area that has had its share of unexplained events. Could the UFO be related to them?
The red pin marks the coordinates where Nolinor pilots say they saw an unidentified flying object on Nov. 24.

The Baffin Island sighting occurred on November 24 at about 8:30 pm local time. According to their report to the Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System (CADORS) (see a screen shot here), they described it as a CIRVIS/UFO, which is pilot-speak for “Communications Instructions for Reporting Vital Intelligence Sightings” like UFOs. (Audio of the report can be heard here.) The report was forwarded to North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) which is based at CFB Winnipeg, Manitoba – due south of Nunavut. The Boeing 737-200 was heading from Iqaluit, the capital of Nunavut, to the Mary River Mine, an open pit iron mine that is the world’s sixth most northerly mine.
Baffin Island fjord
Why would a UFO be interested in an iron mine? UFOs are often seen over mining operations. From 2010 to 2015, UFOs were reported over a number of copper mines in Chile. Speculation ranged from drones or helicopters spying on the mines to aliens coming in for parts or fuel. While UFOs are often seen over active volcanoes and could be anything from drones to birds to aliens refueling or using the volcano as a portal, the Taupo Volcanic Zone in New Zealand is over large reservoirs of molten gold, silver and other precious metals, prompting those on the “aliens” side to speculate they could be mining them before we can figure out how for ourselves. Gold, silver, rare minerals? Kind of makes sense. But iron ore?
This report to Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System describes what the pilots saw on Nov. 24 as they approached the Mary River iron mine in northern Baffin Island.
In 2016, a mysterious pinging in the waters between Baffin Island and the Melville Peninsula baffled the military. One theory was that it was the Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation, owner of the Mary Iron Mine, pinging the waters with sonar to conduct surveys. Are they now using drones as well? There was also a defunct military radar station set up during the Cold War to track Soviet planes. Is it sending signals again? The pinging was painfully loud to locals but you know how that goes – military and money trumps indigenous people.
Marco Prud’homme, Nolinor’s vice president, says the pilot told him he saw a shining light, which changed from red to green to white, and it could have been a star, a meteorite, or “probably something natural.” Of course that’s what he’s going to tell the management – he wants to keep his job.
There have been reports of UFOs made from the ground in Nunavut. They’re generally colored lights moving at high speeds and some have been reported by dozens of witnesses. Meteors? Northern lights?
It’s easy to disbelieve rock stars or people who can’t seem to tell the difference between a star and a UFO. That’s why we need to keep an open mind when these reports come from pilots and astronauts. Especially around the mysterious Baffin Island.
The first type of red paint used by humans was ochre and it dates back hundreds of thousands of years. Ancient art work using ochre includes prehistoric drawings on cave walls and paintings on canvasses.
Ochre is a reddish mineral that consists of oxidized iron (iron that has been mixed with oxygen). Since it is a mineral, ochre doesn’t decay or wash away over time. April Nowell, who is a paleolithic archaeologist, a professor and chair at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Victoria in Canada, explains ochre in more detail, “Its vibrant color and ability to adhere to surfaces – including the human body – make it an ideal crayon or paint base.”
Ochre really isn’t that difficult to find. It can be found in soil and rocks were the iron minerals have formed, such as the edges of valleys, cliffs, and even in caves. When ochre is found, it can be turned into powder by grating it against the ground or on a stone. After it is in powder form, it can be mixed with liquid (water, egg whites, or saliva) and turned into paint. In addition to being turned into paint, it can also be broken into small pieces and used as a crayon.

Scientists have found evidence of early humans using ochre as far back as around 285,000 years ago in the Paleolithic period. Archaeologists found about 70 pieces of ochre that weighed around eleven pounds at a Homo erectus site in Kenya called GnJh-03.
Other evidence was found at a Neanderthal site in the Netherlands called Maastricht-Belvédère where archaeologists excavated small amounts of ochre that dates back to around 250,000 years ago. Paul Pettitt, who is a professor of paleolithic archaeology at Durham University in the United Kingdom, said that it is believed the Neanderthals perhaps turned the ochre into powder and mixed it with water in order to paint their clothing or their skin. In fact, archaeologists have found several cave paintings made by Neanderthals.
Ancient humans even used ochre in burials. Pettitt explained that it is believed that the clothing worn by the deceased were colored with ochre, but as time passed the clothes decayed, resulting with the human bones as well as the grave turning a reddish color from the mineral. In fact, this is exactly what happened in the grave of the famous Red Lady of Paviland in South Wales, United Kingdom. Although it was initially thought that the grave was that of an improper scarlet woman (since it was stained red), the burial site was actually of a young man who lived during the Paleolithic times around 33,000 years ago.
While ochre is a perfect color to draw or paint with, and is especially easy to see in the dark settings of a cave, it has several other uses. The ancients used the mineral to tan hides, as well as a type of glue to secure handles to stone tools. It was also used as mosquito repellent, protection against the cold or the sun, and even for medicinal purposes.
It seems to be apparent that early humans preferred using the color red. Whether it was to mark their bodies or to create ancient art work, the fact that ochre has been used for nearly 300,000 years is quite astonishing.
In the Outback of Queensland, Australia, ghostly orbs of light have been frightening people for centuries. Local residents call them Min Min lights, named after the early settlement and hotel in Boulia. Seemingly persistent one moment, but fleeting the next, the lights follow travelers far across the land and seem to have an intelligence about them. The town of Boulia has become somewhat famous for the ghost lights. Oral traditions of Aboriginal people recorded them as having existed even before the colonization of Europeans in Australia. What do we know about the mystery of the orbs and what are some of the theories about what they could be?

Descriptions of the Min Min Lights
Europeans first documented the Min Min lights in 1838. They are usually described as fuzzy disks or glowing football-shaped orbs that can grow in size, get brighter or dimmer, take on different colors, and move about. They hover about three feet above the ground and are often mistaken for the lights of an oncoming vehicle. But, unlike vehicle lights, these phantom lights of Boulia often appear to follow or approach travelers, whether they are on foot, on horseback or driving a car. Sometimes they stand still, while at other times they seem to chase the observer or bob up and down as if they’re dancing. Thousands of people have seen them over the years, and many of them reported it as a frightening or “spooky” experience.
The Stockman’s Account in the Local Newspaper
The Sydney Morning Herald published an interesting story of an eyewitness account of these lights on January 25, 1947. The article began with the tale of the shady Min Min Hotel, which was once notorious for selling drugs and modified alcohol to the workers who would stop for a drink. Some of the men would stay at the hotel, while others passed through. Numerous men died there, either from the drugs and tainted alcohol, deadly brawls, or hoodlums murdered them for money. Those men were buried behind the hotel. But there was a fire in the early 1900s that burned the hotel down, and the only thing that remained was the graveyard. A short time after the fire, a stockman on horseback was passing through and he encountered the bizarre light. He rode to the police station and this is what he reported:
” I saw a strange glow appear right in the middle of the cemetery. I looked at it amazed. The glow got bigger, till it was about the size of a water-melon. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I saw it hovering over the ground. And then I broke into a cold sweat, for it started to come towards me.”
Remains of the graveyard at the old hotel site where the mysterious lights have often been seen in Boulia.
The stockman continued to tell the sergeant that he tried to ride away, but the light kept following him until he got to the edge of the town. The officer just smiled unbelievingly at his story. However, since the stockman’s encounter, thousands more have witnessed the lights.
Folklore of the Ghost Lights
It is unclear when Aboriginal people of Australia began seeing the Min Min lights. Oral traditions make it difficult to maintain a clear timelines of events. Some of the oldest stories of the Boulia region indicate that the increase in lights was associated with the killing of Aboriginal Australians by Europeans. Aboriginal people believed the lights came from their graveyards as the spirits of their dead ancestors who were perhaps unrestful because they felt the injustice of their murders. The Aborigines feared the lights, and believed that they could take someone’s life.
Other Theories
There are other theories about the lights. One idea suggests that they are the result of gaseous releases from the earth, such as those often seen at graveyards. Others propose glowing insects like fireflies may cause the illuminations. Fringe theorists support the UFO and paranormal avenues (ghosts, spirits, fairies).
Jack Pettigrew determined the lights to be a Fata Morgana.

Professor Jack Pettigrew’s Studies
Jack Pettigrew is Emeritus Professor of Physiology and Director of the Vision, Touch and Hearing Research Centre at the University of Queensland. While he was studying a nocturnal bird, he had an experience with the Min Min light. During his first encounter, he initially assumed it was the planet Venus. However, he observed that the light approached the horizon but never set below it, like a normal planet would as the earth rotated.
On another occasion, Professor Pettigrew was driving at night with some colleagues when they saw the mysterious phenomenon. At first, they thought the lights were the shining eyes of a cat maybe 50 meters away. When they stopped the car, though, the lights continued to hover in front of them. The mystery only deepened when the scientists tried to track the lights to their source, which they calculated to be over 300 kilometers away, beyond the horizon.
Pettigrew’s Fata Morgana
Professor Pettigrew hypothesized that the Min Min lights are a type of mirage, or a Fata Morgana. A temperature inversion causes these types of mirages, in which a layer of warm air traps a layer of dense cold air underneath it. When light passes through the two layers, refraction occurs. In other words, the light bends. Since it is optically difficult for humans to identify bent light, it is easy for someone to believe that the light originates from where it appears to be. In a Fata Morgana, the image appears to be floating above the horizon or close in front of them, and this can be quite frightening for many people.
Wonderful during the day, such Fata Morgana can be terrifying at night when a single light source gives no hint that it is actually part of a mirage emanating from a great distance. Even hardened Outback observers can break down when they are unable to interpret the unusual optical properties of the light in terms of their own, very different, past experiences.
Jack Pettigrew
Professor Pettigrew conducted an experiment in which he created his own type of phantom light phenomenon. He chose a night with the right weather conditions and drove about 10 kilometers. Six witnesses saw the car lights floating above the horizon. Many other people saw an even more spectacular Fata Morgana the following morning when they saw a whole mountain range floating above the ground.
Ghostly Lights Around the World
Phenomena of phantom lights aren’t unique to Australia. Many other countries have stories about floating orbs and therefore have many names for them: “ghost lights,” “fairy lights,” “will-o’-the-wisp,” and “ignis fatuus.” Will-o’-the-wisp are ghost lights that were observed and named by people of the ancient Celtic lands of Europe: Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales. Unlike the min min lights, the will-o’-wisps appear mostly around wet grounds such as bogs and swamps. Some people believe them to be fairies or spirits, and because the lights resemble a disembodied lantern moving through the darkness, the story of the jack-o’-lantern is related to the will-o’-the-wisp.

In Mexico there is a type of light similar to the ghost orbs of Boulia that locals believe are the souls of witches. They call these brujas. In the South American countries of Argentina and Uruguay the ghost lights are called luz mala, meaning evil light. Luz mala is a rural phenomenon, similar to the min min lights, however, the residents dread them and have incorporated them into many myths.
The Magic of the Mystifying Lights
Magic exists when something defies our understanding. There are many people in the Boulia region who want to keep that magic alive, however, science doesn’t necessarily negate the beauty or wonder of the Min Min lights. Aboriginal people of Australia first described this enduring mystery long ago. Hence, it is clear that many people of the region now identify with the lights. Whatever they may be, they have become an attraction for people who come from all over to get a glimpse of the famous lights of the Australian outback.
Out over the harsh terrain of the Outback of Western Australia, through all of the desert scrub, water-less dead creeks, gullies, and the unforgiving landscape of the flat, sun-scorched place called channel country and about 40 miles east of the tiny town of Boulia, once existed a town called Min Min, now merely desiccated ruins like the remains of some prehistoric beast. It is here among these ruins where a curious phenomenon has long been witnessed by those passing through, strange, inexplicable ghostly lights that bob and hover across this remote land to frighten and startle, and which are steeped in lore and legend.
What have come be called the Min Min lights are typically described as shimmering orbs that can range in color, including blue, white, green, red, and yellow, sometimes changing between all three, as well as take different sizes. They are sometimes said to have somewhat blurry edges that seem to pulsate or scintillate, and they can be slow moving or conversely very fast, flying through the night like a land bound shooting star, sometimes moving in a straight line and sometimes performing aerial acrobatics, and on very rare occasions they have been witnessed to break off into two separate lights that go careening their separate ways off into the night. Interestingly many of the reports that have come in describe the lights as following the witness, or conversely moving away from them if they try to approach, and some accounts claim that they evoke thick feelings or dread or confusion, leaving the witness quite unsettled. The lights might wander off into the distance out of sight or vanish into thin air, and they are always a startling thing to see out here in these badlands.
The Australian Outback
Considering their mysterious, unearthly nature it is perhaps not surprising at all that they have attracted their fair share of spooky lore. The Aborigines believed them to be the spirits of their ancestors roaming the land, and when white settlers began sighting the lights in 1918 there were immediate legends that they were connected to the old ghost town, or more specifically the notorious hotel that once stood there, which was said to be a nefarious place, indeed. According to this legend, the owners of the hotel were in the grim business of murdering guests for their valuables, after which the bodies would be unceremoniously buried in shallow graves in a dry patch of land behind the establishment. In this tale the lights are the vengeful ghosts of these victims, and that they seek to confuse travelers and get them lost in the forbidding Outback out of some vendetta. The lights became a sort of scary bedtime story, with whispers that the lights were omens of death, and that to see them meant certain doom, made even more ominous tales of those who claimed to have seen the lights before fatal mining accidents or disasters.
Some of the earliest published reports of Min Min light sightings originate in the 1930s, such as one account from 1937 from a rancher named Henry Lamond. He claimed that he had been out on horseback at around 2 AM in the morning when he saw what he at first took to be a car out there in the Outback, which was a little unusual but not in and of itself so completely bizarre either. However, things would get very strange very fast, and he would say:
Cars, though they were not common, were not rare. I took note of the thing, singing and trotting as I rode, and I even estimated the strength of the approaching light by the way it picked out individual hairs in the mare’s mane. Suddenly I realized it was not a car light — it remained in one bulbous ball instead of dividing into the 2 headlights, which it should have done as it came closer; it was too green-glare-y for an acetylene light; it floated too high for any car; there was something eerie about it.
The light came on, floating as airily as a bubble, moving with comparative slowness … I should estimate now that it was moving at about 10 mph and anything from 5 to 10 feet above the ground … Its size, I would say, at an approximate guess, would be about that of a new-risen moon. That light and I passed each other, going in opposite directions. I kept an eye on it while it was passing, and I’d say it was about 200 yards off when suddenly it just faded and died away. It did not go out with a snap -its vanishing was more like the gradual fading of the wires in an electric bulb.
One very eerie and well known report with a definite air of the paranormal comes that very same year, and was written of by newspaper columnist Bill Bowyang. He claimed that one evening from their camp he and his companions had seen an odd light bobbing and weaving about in the cool desert night, which he at first took to be someone out there waving about a lantern, but soon saw that this could not be the case as it would rise high in the air and then back down again. Bowyang suggested following it, after which his frightened companions warned him that it was a ghost light and that it was trying to lead them to their doom over the precipice of a rocky chasm they knew of hidden in the inky dark in that direction. Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to go out and see what the light was anyway, saying of what happened next:
I strode on into the darkness. I had got to within perhaps twenty yards of the peculiar light, which was still hovering like some huge ball of glowing embers in mid-air about seven or eight feet from the ground, when suddenly it swerved abruptly to one side. A man’s warning voice came through the darkness. ‘The abyss ain’t a dozen yards from where ye are; come back, come back.’ I stopped, but not before I had seen – true to the old fellow’s words – that the strange light had indeed drifted out over the great chasm. As I watched, the light hesitated, floated back a little towards me, then as though tempting me to follow, but at the same time annoyed at the possibility of losing a victim, it glided back again over the chasm where, with a few final erratic movements, it dropped from sight.
This ominous reputation as entities trying to baffle and confuse has been echoed in other similar reports, such as one from a local named James Birch, from the isolated Outback town of Kimberley. He says that he grew up hearing the tales of the Min Min lights, and says of them and his own experience:
As a kid growing up the old people used to tell me, they [Min Min lights] were old people’s spirits looking after country. If you’ve lived in the Kimberley you would have experienced spotting a Min Min light once in your life. We were heading back into town after hunting. I was driving towards town when all of sudden a Min Min light appeared. We all stared at the light and all of a sudden we were going in the opposite way, going back into the bush and following the light without even realizing.
Over the years there have been hundreds of such sightings of the Min Min lights, and the strange phenomenon continues to this day, sparking much speculation and debate as to what they might be. Of course there are the ideas that these are ghosts, spirits, or UFOs, but there have been more scientific efforts to try and explain them as well, ranging from the simple to the complex. Some of the more mundane explanations are that these lights are caused by birds, owls, or bio-luminescent insects, but this does not seem to really fit in with what witnesses report seeing. There are also the theories that the lights are caused by some sort of fluorescent gases or that they are a mirage caused by the clash of layers of cold and warm air, which can have the effect of bending light and causing distant light sources over the horizon such as headlights or fires to appear as if they are much closer, a phenomenon known as Fata Morgana, although these do not explain reports in which the witness sees them fly over their heads, pass right by them, or circle them out in the dark. The lights could also be caused by other factors such as ball lightning, ionization in geophysically-generated electrical fields, or some other little understood natural phenomenon, but no one knows for sure, all we know is that they are weird indeed.
Many of these explanations do not fully explain all of the idiosyncrasies of Min Min light reports, such as the seemingly intelligent nature they demonstrate, ghostly voices, or the profound fear they are said to generate, and in the end the phenomenon has not conclusively been solved. Whether the Min Min lights are the spirits of Aboriginal elders, the ghosts of dead settlers, UFOs, mirages, misidentifications, or something else altogether, they have gone on to become one of the most enduring unexplained mysteries of Australia’s Outback, and continue to capture the imagination.
A mystery green fireball seen glowing above Russia's high-tech 'scientific city' has puzzled scientists.
The bright flash and streaking tail was spotted by stunned motorists close to research town Akademgorodok, on the edge of regional capital Novosibirsk in southern Siberia.
The research institutes in the area have been dubbed Vladimir Putin's 'secret weapon'.
The images were caught on dashcams in the early-morning darkness on Tuesday and have prompted a range of explanations
The green fireball is caught by a dashcam in southern Siberia. It has sparked a range of explanations including an unexpected meteor or a secret weapons test
The state-run Russia Today described it as a meteor but acknowledged that astronomers were 'somewhat bewildered' by the sight.
The pictures have sparked rumours that Russia was testing 'extremely advanced weapons' while others suggested it was a UFO.
Ilya Orlov, deputy director of the Big Novosibirsk Planetarium, hailed the 'beautiful phenomenon' but he could not certain what caused it.
'Most likely, this is a flash of bolide, that is, the fall of a bright meteor with a flash,' he said, saying it would be unusual.
'It is all the more surprising because there are no active meteor showers now. It can be either the tail of a [Leonid] meteor shower or a lone meteor. We need to find out.'
A bolide is a very bright meteor that explodes in the earth's atmosphere. No traces of space rock was found on the snowy ground, it was reported.
There were no reported rocket launches or missile tests when the fireball appeared early on Tuesday, which sometimes account for 'UFO sightings' in Siberia.
The fireball is seen from a snow-covered road in Siberia. Russia's state broadcaster described it as a meteor but astronomers said there were no meteor showers expected
The fireball is seen with its tail next to a van in Russia. The research institutes in the area have been dubbed President Vladimir Putin's 'secret weapon'
The spooky incident was close to Akademgorodok, set up by the Kremlin in 1957 as a base to hothouse Soviet scientists in Siberia - far from the prying eyes of the West.
It is now home to many of Russia's leading researchers and academics specialising in all branches of sciences including military and space developments.
It houses dozens of scientific institutes and has been called the cradle of the Kremlin's high-tech innovation.
The site is just six miles away from Koltsovo, home of a secretive repository of the planet's most deadly diseases and viruses.
The Russian State Research Centre of Virology and Biotechnology, called Vector, is a highly guarded institute which in Soviet times was at the forefront of deadly weapons programmes.
In recent years Vector has been involved in efforts to find cures and antidotes to killers such as bubonic plague, anthrax, hepatitis B, HIV and cancer.
The research centre holds one of the last two samples of smallpox in the world, with the United States retaining the other.
A mysterious green fireball was recently seen in the skies above Russia’s high-tech weapons research city. Are the Russians showing off one of Vladimir Putin “secret weapons” the area is known for, or was this merely a meteorite exploding over a highly conspicuous location?
For now, little is known about the mystery light in the sky. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 27, motorists driving near the research town of Akademgorodok in southern Siberia spotted a bright green flash followed by a tail streaking across the sky. It’s Russia, so of course several dash cams caught the incident on film. Russians love dash cams.
Akademgorodok was like a Soviet version of Silicon Valley during the Cold War.
Russia’s state-run media has explained the incident as a meteor explosion – although they also noted that local astronomers are “somewhat bewildered” by the event because no meteor events were expected in the area. Ilya Orlov, deputy director of the Big Novosibirsk Planetarium, says that while the phenomenon was beautiful, he and fellow researchers are at a loss to explain what may have caused it:
Most likely, this is a flash of bolide, that is, the fall of a bright meteor with a flash. It is all the more surprising because there are no active meteor showers now. It can be either the tail of a [Leonid] meteor shower or a lone meteor. We need to find out.
Russian social media has been full of speculation ranging from secret rocket launches to tests of “extremely advanced weapons,” and aliens, naturally. With other unexplained explosions being caught on camera around the world, it really makes you wonder if we aren’t experiencing an uptick in meteorite impacts – or are we just catching them on camera more frequently in the dash cam/smartphone age?
The Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics at Akademgorodok.
Akademgorodok was established at the height of the Cold War to be a scientific research center and today remains a research and education hub for Siberia. Some of the research facilities there are involved in nuclear research, laser physics, and chemical kinetics and combustion, while the nearby Russian State Research Centre of Virology and Biotechnology is believed to conduct some of the most deadly chemical and biological weapons research on the planet and houses one of the last samples of smallpox in the world.

I was going through some ESA photos and found some more structures on Comet 67P, the singing comet. They call it that because 20+ years ago, scientists heard a radio message that was and is, non stop, continues coming from the comet. They thought it was an alien message so they built a probe to go there and find out. What ever they discovered...they are keeping it to themselves as governments always do. I will continue to search for alien evidence for you in photos so that the public will know the truth, with or without NASA or Gov approval.
