Man says he found footprints in North Carolina that aren't human or animal
Man says he found footprints in North Carolina that aren't human or animal
Joe Scarborough in Cesar, North Carolina recently stumbled upon a series of sizable prints that left him wondering if they may have been created by Bigfoot.
Joe initially suspected that perhaps the large prints had come from a human, marveling to himself that "somebody's got a big foot."
When he looked closer at the tracks, he was struck by the sheer size of the impressions, noting that they seemed to measure thirteen or fourteen inches long, reports CoasttoCoast.
He says he will spend the night near the tracks in Cesar, NC with his cameras in the coming days to see what else he can find.

Several Glowing Objects Hanging Above the Horizon in a Lagoon Off the Coast of North Carolina
A new YouTube video shows fourteen bright objects floating over the horizon in the Pamlico Sound lagoon off the North Carolina coast.
The video uploader William Guy was on a ferry travelling across the lagoon when he noticed mysterious objects in the sky. He immediately switched on his camera to get a video of his UFO sighting. The video initially shows the sky and orange horizon during sunset.
Then 14 bright round objects came into view. Mr Guy pans the camera right and left then focuses on the hovering objects again after showing that nothing in the sky at all except those glowing objects.
Mr Guy claimed that there were some 25 people on the ferry aside from him, and everyone saw the bright objects and recorded them on video as well.
Some conspiracy theorists expressed their delight about the video stating that Earth is under heavy observation. However, sceptics argued that the glowing objects were not UFOs but signal flares used in the military as training targets.
Russian Coal Miners Discover a Mysterious Object That Looks Like a Flying Saucer
Russian Coal Miners Discover a Mysterious Object That Looks Like a Flying Saucer
A recently-resurfaced video has revealed a UFO that has been found buried in a coal mine in Russia. Russian state media claimed the strange UFO-shaped thing was found in a coal mine in Belovo District, Kemerovo.
According to Russia Today, the UFO measured 3.9 ft or 1.2 m across and weighed around 200 kg. The off-the-wall claims were supported by a short interview with an unnamed man who claimed to have helped found the UFO.
He said the excavator driver informed him to have found a strange object on the coal face. When he arrived at the coal-basin, he saw the unusual thing. At first, he thought it was a shield, but when they put it on its edge, he saw that it looked like a UFO.
He suggested it might be some kind of object for throwing as he brought up the possibility that the ancients were bigger than us. He also said that it could be a miniature copy created by people who saw spaceships in the sky.
A black ring-shaped UFO has appeared in the sky above Russia, causing wild claims that a space portal to another dimension has formed.
The exciting footage was shot in Moscow where multiple locals shared photos of what they described as a mysterious alien-like circle.
Conspiracy theorists, meanwhile, sensationally called it as a portal to another world, which the space aliens forgot to close and hide in an invisible mode.
The UFO sighting still sparked speculation as to what has caused the ring-shaped UFO to appear if not aliens.
The clip shows the black ring floating aimlessly in the sky.
The size of the ring becomes more evident when the cameraman zooms in.
After being uploaded online, many viewers provided their take as to what the object could have been.
Some say it was a flock of birds, but others argued that birds don’t fly in such circles and not moving enough.
Several others suggested it might be smoke, but the ring stayed in place despite relatively strong winds.
There were also suggestions the mysterious ring was a trace from a military aircraft that had been made with an explosion or gone through the sound barrier, which had left only a black circle.
One viewer suggested it was like a portal to another world.
Yuri Senkin, a UFO specialist from the Academy of Informatics and Applied Ufology, said that there’s no obvious explanation for this phenomenon from a scientific point of view.
Goodness gracious! Great balls of fire rained from the sky in Chile last week, and officials are still trying to figure out what they were and where they came from.
One thing is certain: The mysterious burning objects were not meteors, according to news reports.
The fiery UFOs descended on Dalcahue City on the Chilean island of Chiloé on Sept. 25, CNET reported. . The tumbling objects crash-landed in seven locations, setting off fires that were promptly put out by volunteer firefighters. .
Chiloé island resident Bernardita Ojeda had one fireball land on her property, where the flames ignited a few bushes, Ojeda told local news station Channel 2.
Geologists from Chile's National Geology and Mining Service soon arrived to examine the seven sites that had been scorched by the falling space stuff. While they conducted their analyses, the story spread through local news, social media and national outlets.
Chilean astronomer and astrophysicist José Maza told Chilean news network TVN that the blazing bodies were likely either meteorites or space debris that had detached from rockets or satellites, according to CNET. On Sept. 26, astronomer Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics chimed in on Twitter, saying that the falling objects were probably meteorites and that there were "no obvious space debris candidates that [he could] see."
"But [it] sometimes takes a few days for relevant data to come in," McDowell added.
On Sept. 28, the geologists released their official assessment: None of the seven sites contained traces of meteorite. Since the mysterious objects weren't meteors, logic dictates that they must have been wayward space junk, but officials said they'll be conducting more detailed analyses of soil samples collected from the singed sites to make sure, according to CNET. The geologists will release their results later this month. Only time will tell what exactly fell from the heavens on that unusual September evening.
'Top Secret' Radar Upgrade Reportedly Allowed US Navy to Finally Spot UFOs
'Top Secret' Radar Upgrade Reportedly Allowed US Navy to Finally Spot UFOs
The former naval radar operator noted that “everyone is seeing” the UFOs since a certain secret upgrade was introduced to US warships “fleet-wide”.
It appears that the infamous encounter of an unidentified “Tic Tac”-shaped object by the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group was made possible due to a certain upgrade introduced to the warships’ spyware, according the recent revelations made by a retired US Navy Senior Chief Operations Specialist named Kevin Day.
During a recent interview on the “Truth Be Told” podcast, Day, who served as a radar operator on the USS Princeton, part of the aforementioned carrier group, mused that UFOs might’ve been around for quite some time before the Nimitz incident, when mankind upped its detection game
"There had been a top-secret upgrade of our system that had gotten underway”, he said as quoted by the Daily Star. “They upgraded our cooperative engagement capability and did some tweaking on our spy radar and the way that it all works. I think because of these upgrades we were suddenly able to see things that had always been there.”
Day also remarked that the hypothesis about the older detection systems simply being unable to spot UFOs might explain why “everyone is seeing them” now, after the radar upgrade in question was introduced “fleet-wide.”
And when the host asked him whether he thinks that the object they encountered back then was an extraterrestrial craft, Day said yes.
"This was non-newtonian, it was non-classical physics we're seeing so it had to be something", he said. "What other explanations are there?"
The War Zone has been reporting on a set of bizarre patents assigned to the U.S. Navy that describe radical new technologies that could absolutely revolutionize the aerospace field, and frankly, the very way we live our lives. These include high-energy electromagnetic fields used to create force fields and outlandish new methods of aerospace propulsion and vehicle design that basically read as UFO-like technology. You can learn all about these patents, their viability, and the issues surrounding them in theseexclusive features of ours. Now, the same mysterious Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division engineer behind those patents has produced another patent—one for a compact fusion reactor that could pump out absolutely incredible amounts of power in a small space—maybe even in a craft.
Energy dominance has become a cornerstone of American military policy as laboratories seek to develop the ‘Holy Grail’ of power generation: nuclear fusion. These attempts at developing stable fusion reactors utilize incredibly powerful magnetic fields in order to contain the nuclear reactions occurring inside. Creating a stable fusion reaction is difficult enough, but some laboratories are going even further by attempting to create compact reactors small enough to fit inside shipping containers or even possibly vehicles
The form of nuclear power generation employed in nuclear reactors today is fission, in which unstable isotopes of uranium and other radioactive materials are bombarded with particles, splitting them apart and releasing energy. Fusion, on the other hand, involves uniting atoms of hydrogen isotopes like Tritium and Deuterium under extreme pressure and temperature to produce helium isotopes and neutrons, a process that releases large amounts of energy.
If it can be achieved, nuclear fusion would be a massive improvement over fission in that it produces much lower levels of radioactive waste and greenhouse gases, does not require enriched nuclear material that could be used to produce weapons, has a far lower risk of meltdown, and can be powered by more sustainable fuel sources. Fusion has long been hailed as a long-term solution to humankind's energy needs.
While nuclear physicists and engineers have been conducting experiments with fusion reactor designs for decades, it remains challenging, to say the least, to engineer systems that can contain temperatures of hundreds of millions of degrees Fahrenheit and extremely high pressures. Most of the world’s 'successful' fusion reactors are currently only able to maintain plasma discharges for periods of time measured in minutes or even seconds.
Even more challenging is designing nuclear fusion reactors that are mobile, such as ones that might fit inside a shipping container or a ship. Currently, most of the world’s experimental fusion reactors are the size of large buildings and the ultimate goal of much current research is to develop compact fusion reactor systems, or CFRs, small enough to work on a ship or possibly even an aircraft.
In spite of these hurdles, think tanks, such as the American Security Project, believe that fusion reactors in the 21st Century will provide low cost, carbon-free energy to the world, and predict that the United States can lead the world in finally realizing safe and stable nuclear fusion reactors.
The War Zone has been reporting on Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works work to create a game-changing compact fusion reactor. The elite aerospace design unit has been constructing a new, more powerful experimental reactor as recently as July 2019.
Aside from Lockheed Martin, several private firms have been developing their own compact fusion reactors in recent years, and the government-run Chinese Academy of Sciences has claimed to have made significant progress in developing fusion reactors that could one day be capable of producing revolutionary levels of energy.
LOCKHEED MARTIN
Skunk Works team members at work on their experimental compact fusion reactor.
While Lockheed Martin’s CFR designs have garnered quite a bit of media attention and internet buzz in recent years, it appears one of the Skunk Works' major clients is also hard at work in this field. The U.S. Navy has filed a potentially revolutionary patent application for a radical new compact fusion reactor that claims to improve upon the shortcomings of the Skunk Works CFR, and judging from the identity of the reactor’s inventor, it's sure to raise eyebrows in the scientific community.
This latest design is the brainchild of the elusive Salvatore Cezar Pais, the inventor of the Navy’s bizarre and controversial room temperature superconductors, high energy electromagnetic field generators, and sci-fi-sounding propulsion technologies that The War Zone has previously reported on. The patent for Pais’ “Plasma Compression Fusion Device” was applied for on March 22, 2018, and was just published on September 26, 2019. The claim states, in part:
"At present there are few envisioned fusion reactors/devices that come in a small, compact package (ranging from 0.3 to 2 meters in diameter) and typically they use different versions of plasma magnetic confinement. Three such devices are the Lockheed Martin (LM) Skunk Works Compact Fusion Reactor (LM-CFR) , the EMC2 Polywell fusion concept, and the Princeton Field-Reversed Configuration (PFRC) machine. [...] These devices feature short plasma confinement times, possible plasma instabilities with the scaling of size, and it is questionable whether they have the ability of achieving the break - even fusion condition, let alone a self-sustained plasma burn leading to ignition."
It is claimed in the patent application that this plasma compression fusion device is capable of producing power in the gigawatt (1 billion watts) to terawatt (1 trillion watts) range and above with input power only in the kilowatt (1,000 watts) to megawatt (1,000,000 watts) range. By comparison, America's largest nuclear power plant, the Palo Verde nuclear power plant in Arizona, generates around 4,000 megawatts (4 gigawatts), and the A1B nuclear reactors designed for the Navy's Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers generate around 700 megawatts. The patent even claims that the device can "possibly lead to ignition plasma burn, that is self-sustained plasma burn without need for external input power."
USPTO
Patent documentation showing the spinning, electrically-charged fusors (200) which are claimed to be able to contain nuclear plasma (75) in a high-energy magnetic field.
Most fusion reactor designs employ magnetic confinement to contain fusion reactions. This involves torus-shaped coils of superconductors to produce powerful magnetic fields that confine a reactor's plasma core.
The Navy's new plasma compression fusion device, however, claims as its key feature the same principle as in Salvatore Pais' other inventions: the “controlled motion of electrically charged matter via accelerated vibration and/or accelerated spin subjected to smooth yet rapid acceleration transients, in order to generate extremely high energy/high intensity electromagnetic fields.” Pais cites some of his prior publications as evidence that this type of spinning, vibrating electromagnetic system can create the high magnetic fields required to contain powerful fusion reaction in a stable form.
The patent describes how those magnetic fields are generated within a hollow plasma chamber which includes one or more opposing pairs of conical or domed “counter-spinning dynamic fusors” that feature an electrically charged outer surface containing ducts that inject fuel gases, such as Deuterium or Deuterium-Xenon, into the plasma chamber. As these electrically-charged fusors spin, Pais claims, they “create a concentrated magnetic energy flux and electromagnetic radiation within the vacuum chamber,” compressing and heating the gasses within. These fusors vibrate at a high rate as they spin thanks to piezoelectric films such as lead zirconate titanate (PZT) - the same piezoelectric metamaterial Pais claims enables his room-temperature superconductor patent.
USPTO
Cross-section of one of the conical fusors. Shown are orifices (235) used to inject fuel into the plasma core and the toroidal magnetic coils (203) which generate magnetic fields.
Like the other bizarre Salvatore Pais patents we've covered previously, the extent to which this patent represents an operable, functioning, or even feasible technology isn't clear. The Navy has vouched for some of his designs in the past, however, going so far as to claim these inventions actually exist in an operable form and that they are needed for national security purposes, most notably to keep pace with adversaries like China. But unlike some of Pais’ patents, this application sailed through the United States Patent and Trademark Office without rejection and subsequent appeal.
Curiously, the patent states that “the invention will be discussed in a space, sea, or terrestrial environment” but notes that “this invention can be utilized for any type of application that requires the use of energy generation.” It is unclear what type of application may exist other than space, sea, or land.
Salvatore Pais is clearly a busy man finding novel applications for high energy electromagnetic fields, and the Navy is patenting some truly science-fiction-like next-generation technologies that if realized, have the potential to change the course of technological development as we know it. Yes, some will likely wonder if this could be the power source that goes along with his other recent "UFO patents"—the engine needed to complete a seemingly otherworldly craft of some sort. The procession of these patents and their potential relation to one another is certainly intriguing, to say the least.
To be frank, we at The War Zone have no idea what is going on here. We have tried to get the Navy to give us some perspective on why these patents were filed, whether they are based on legitimate technology, and why they were ever made public. The Navy remains unwilling to discuss them. At the same time, nearly every physicist we have talked to thinks all of these patents are beyond the realm of known physics and are almost laughable in terms of viability. At the same time, all this is occurring as the Navy, and the Navy alone out of all of the branches of the U.S. military, continues to discuss the fact that its pilots are encountering unexplained aerial phenomena at an alarming rate.
With all this in mind, is the Navy building some sort of incredible craft based on science that remains foreign to the larger scientific community? Did they already do this years ago and are just slowly lifting the veil now? Are they clumsily trying to emulate what their pilots are seeing in the field, but can not yet fully explain? Could these patents just represent gross mismanagement of resources on the Navy's behalf? Or is this all some sort of elaborate disinformation play by the Navy—one that seems to have emerged right in step the rise of major peer-state competition from the likes of Russia and China, and the biggest expansion of advanced aerospace development programs in decades?
At this time we have no way to give you a definitive answer, but we will continue to investigate in hopes of one day being able to do just that.
We've reached out to physicists for comment on this patent and will update this story once we receive their opinions.

UFO spotted in North Carolina's outer banks: Are they real? Was it aliens?
By Simran Kashyap
Washington, Oct 09: The hunt for any clues about alien life, any form of extraterrestrial life is always on. However, one of the most common topic which has sparked debate for innumerable years is the authenticity of UFO (Unidentified Flying Objects) sightings.
Recently a video has gone viral on various social media sites where a new UFO was sighted at the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
The video shows not one but a series of unidentified flying objects. A group of lights suddenly light up the sky and the question of is it aliens or was it any kind of military operation.
The video was posted online 'YouTube' about a week ago by William Guy with a caption "real UFO sighting" and it clearly shows a mysterious fleet on lights appearing in the evening sky.
Almost 14 dots of lights were seen sparking in the sky. In the 31-second video clip, one can also hear someone saying, "We're in the middle of the ocean, on a ferry, nothing around. Look. Nothing around. No land, no nothing. What that is.''
The video was shot aboard a ferry crossing the Pamlico Sound from Ocracoke Island to Swan Quarter on the mainland.
One of the commentator Derrick Chennault, who identified himself as a former Marine based at the 2nd Marine Air Wing mentioned that it was a Marine operation.
"We used to regularly drop flares out of the back of our plane in the evenings for military exercises in that area. They are one million candle power each so they were pretty bright and can be seen from far away and floated down slow as they hung from a parachute," he mentioned. However, there was no statement from the marine forces so as of now there is no clarity what exactly it was.
However, it should be noted that the military base is approximately 125 miles west of the Outer Banks.
Meanwhile, last week, the US Navy had comfirmed that existence of UFOs maybe true.
According to a report in Huffington Post, the US Navy confirmed the authenticity of a series of three videos about UFO sightings recently and
What are UFO?
Unidentified flying object (UFO) is the popular term for any aerial phenomenon that cannot immediately be identified. Most UFOs are identified on investigation as conventional objects or phenomena. The term is widely used for claimed observations of extraterrestrial spacecraft.
The Buddha statue at Buddha's Footprint in Khao Kala, near Nakhon Sawan in Thailand has become a hotspot for extraterrestrial tourists.

A group of Buddhist worshippers on a remote hilltop in Thailand believe that aliens communicate with people in the area.
Khao Kala in Nakhon Sawan — which translates to "City of Heaven" — is located just three hours north of Bangkok and has become a hotspot for tourists looking to experience the supernatural.
The remote area is located on a hill among a sugar cane plantation. Believers say the hill hides a secret wormhole that allows aliens from Pluto and elsewhere to travel between different dimensions.
As alien seekers flock to the area, local police are becoming increasingly frustrated. Officers have recently raided the area and expressed concern that the influx of tourism could endanger the protected forests.
There is no substantive evidence that the site has supernatural or alien qualities.
Alien tourism appears to be gaining popularity around the world, and some offbeat travelers believe that a remote hilltop in Thailand holds the key to connecting with the extraterrestrial world.
Khao Kala in Nakhon Sawan — which translates to "City of Heaven" — is located just three hours north of the Thai capital Bangkok, and has become a hotspot for tourists looking to experience the supernatural.
Several news outlets, including CNN and Vice, have recently traveled to the area, where some people believe humans can telepathically communicate with aliens.
The hill is located amongst a sugar cane plantation, and, according to the Bangkok Post, believers in the supernatural site say it hides a secret wormhole that allows aliens to travel between different dimensions.
Believers practice meditation at Hill 145, where a giant Buddha statue sits below a statue of a seven-headed snake. Several other Buddhist statues, including one called "Buddha's Footprint" stand nearby.
Somjit Raepeth, a member of Khao Kala group or UFO Khao Kala, a group that believes that the area possesses supernatural qualities, told the Post in 2015 that members practice strict Buddhist principles and were able to contact aliens from Pluto and another planet called Logu Kata Paka Tigong, located somewhere in the Milky Way.
"They have high virtues and morals," she told the Post. "The only way to make contact with them is to practice dhamma (Buddhist teachings) to the highest levels."
According to CNN, followers of the ideology believe that people can hear the aliens through meditation, and have described the aliens as "slender, little, silvery humanoids."
Some followers have reported seeing UFOs and silhouettes of figures on the hilltop, while others say they were actually spun around by alien powers.
There is no substantive evidence that the site has supernatural or alien qualities, or, of course, that aliens exist.
Wassana Chuensamnaun, a lead campaigner for the extraterrestrials, told CNN that aliens from Pluto "are made of energy" and have expressed concern about devastation on Earth.
Loku aliens, he says, have "knowledge of high technology" and present in physical form. He says Pluto's alien leader claimed Buddha was the "greatest human mind."
According to local daily Khao Sod, a member of UFO Khao Kala predicted that World War III would break out by 2022. Wassana told CNN that aliens have promised to take care of a select few "survivors" in the event of such fallout.
Authorities have not taken kindly to the overcrowding of tourists on the hilltop, which houses several Buddhist holy sites.
In August, they raided the UFO sighting spot out of concern that travelers were jeopardizing the protected forests in the area by camping out and holding activities. In September, authorities and forestry officials returned again and confronted Wassana, along with others at the site, according to CNN.
"If we find anyone guilty of wrongdoing, we will file a criminal case against them.
"If a UFO descends and parks here, that's even better. We'll capture them all," Police Maj. Gen. Damrong Petpong told Khao Sod in August.

A former US Navy Senior Chief Operations specialist who specialised in radar systems has claimed UFOs may have always been present but only became visible after a "top secret upgrade on spyware".
Kevin Day is a Topgun air intercept controller with more than 20 years experience in strike group air defence including war-time operations.
In November 2004, off the coast of San Diego, US, he was a radar operator on the USS Princeton, part of the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group.
On several occasions over a six-day period, military pilots reported seeing Tic Tac-shaped objects that performed remarkable manoeuvres beyond the capability of the US Navy's aircraft.
This incident was made famous in a New York Times article on December 2017 in which it was also revealed the Pentagon had a secret UFO investigation program.
But in a recent interview on Tony Sweet's Truth Be Told podcast, Kevin claimed UFOs may have long been in the air, only becoming visible following a recent radar upgrade.
He said: "There had been a top-secret upgrade of our system that had gotten underway.
"They upgraded our cooperative engagement capability and did some tweaking on our spy radar and the way that it all works.
"I think because of these upgrades we were suddenly able to see things that had always been there.
"So if you had been on the older systems you wouldn't have picked them up?" Tony asked.
"That kind of explains why since 2004 this technology, our upgrade, is now fleet-wide and now everyone is seeing them," Kevin responded.
"I think that's the reason why.
"I'm speculating, but it finally answers questions in my mind."
The host asked: "At this time, did it enter your mind that this could be an extraterrestrial ufo?"
To which Kevin said yes.
He added: "After that intercept, that's exactly what I'm thinking.
"This was non-newtonian, it was non-classical physics we're seeing so it had to be something.

COULD THE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FOUND IN THE ICE ON ONE OF SATURN'S MOONS BE PROOF OF ALIENS?
Enceladus has been imagined a possible candidate for hosting extraterrestrial life since we knew the frozen orb, made of water ice, existed—but does that mean something is living in it?
There is a chance Saturn’s glacial moon might host life. Not that we even know how high that chance is (or if just the thought of it comes from watching too much Star Trek), but the new kinds of organic compounds recently discovered in the plumes of water that gush from the moon’s icy crust are the ingredients of amino acids. This is kind of a big deal because amino acids are the basic components of life on Earth. If the same goes for other moons and planets, that could be telling us something.
"We don't yet know if amino acids are needed for life beyond Earth, but finding the molecules that form amino acids is an important piece of the puzzle," said research lead Nozair Khawaja, whose team published their findings in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
It was data from the Cassini mission in which Kawaja’s team found evidence of amino acids. Using Cassini’s Cosmic Dust Analyzer (CDA), they found ice grains that had been spewed from Enceladus in Saturn’s E ring. The scientists believe that the organic material first dissolved in the subsurface ocean of Enceladus that evaporated once it reached the water’s surface right below the ice. It then condensed and re-froze onto grains in the cracks of the ice before a water plume shot into space.
"This work shows that Enceladus' ocean has reactive building blocks in abundance, and it's another green light in the investigation of the habitability of Enceladus," co-author Frank Postberg explained about the study, which follows last year’s discovery of complex organic molecules that were larger and insoluble in water.
When we finally get an amphibious spacecraft to drill through the ice and dive into Enceladus, it will most likely search for the same kinds of hydrothermal vents found on our planet’s ocean floor. The hot water that bursts from these vents provides energy to fuel reactions which produce amino acids. If such vents are found on the floor of Enceladus’ ocean, the exact same thing could be going on. Or not. Only an investigation via spacecraft could tell us that for sure.
"If the conditions are right, these molecules coming from the deep ocean of Enceladus could be on the same reaction pathway as we see here on Earth," Khawaja said.
While NASA is definitely sending a lander to Titan to explore its liquid methane, Enceladus remains a contender for a future mission. Until then, you can always imagine something with three heads and eighteen tentacles swimming through those waters.
I found a pyramid in a Mars photo today. The pyramids geometric shape is 100% matching that of the Egyptian pyramids. The structure is on the lower base of a hill and may be surrounded by a few other pyramids that were covered with dirt and debris over time.
I wonder why NASA did not notice this structure or go to investigate it. There may be an opening somewhere on it, perhaps on the other side. The rovers job is to explore, and yet its doing zero exploration. That should make the whole world suspicious that NASA does not really want to explore Mars...but only wants to drop feed the public boring facts to make it look like they care.
Of buitenaards leven bestaat?

Faint glowing wisps of space gas in the universe have given scientists a glimpse of how galaxies could be formed.
The gigantic network of gases, which stretches at least three million light years across and further than the scientists could see, form a 'cosmic web'.
When these streams of gas cross paths, the researchers believe, dense accumulations of matter form new galaxies and black holes.
Scientists used a simulator to produce a map of how the gas looks, with galaxies scattered throughout it as bright white dots
Cosmological simulations predict that more than 60 per cent of the hydrogen created during the Big Bang is distributed as long filaments.
And the gases stretch all through the universe.
Scientists had originally thought galaxies formed spontaneously then clustered in certain areas.
But they now suggest the clusters of matter could exist first – within the gas streams – and then develop into galaxies.
The findings were revealed in a paper by the RIKEN Cluster for Pioneering Research and the University of Tokyo.
Dr Hideki Umehata said: 'The presence of such intense radiation suggests very strongly that gas falling along the filaments under the force of gravity triggers the formation of many starbursting galaxies and supermassive black holes, ultimately giving the universe the structure that we see today.
'Previous observations have shown similar emission from blobs of gas extending beyond galaxies.
'But now we have been able to clearly show that these filaments stretch to much larger distances, going even beyond the edge of the field that we viewed.
'This adds credence to the idea that these filaments are actually powering the intense activity that we see in galaxies within large structures assembling in the early universe.'
The researchers revealed pictures of how the gases look as they thread galaxies together - some of the galaxies are physically connected to, or made from, the gases (seen right, the coloured dots in the blue clouds)
Using the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope, Dr Umehata and colleagues detected and mapped the light emitted by hydrogen irradiated by a group of galaxies.
The results show the gas is arranged into long filaments, or strands, providing fuel for intense formation of stars and for the growth of supermassive black holes.
According to the study published in the journal Science, the detected filaments contained a significant reservoir of gas, which will help to fuel the continued growth of galaxies in this region.
Computer simulations, such as those carried out by Durham's Institute for Computational Cosmology (ICC), indicate that the cosmic web forms the scaffolding of the cosmos, providing the framework for galaxies and clusters to form and evolve.
Co-author of the research, Professor Michele Fumagalli, at Durham University, said: 'It is very exciting to clearly see for the first time multiple and extended filaments of gas connecting galaxies in the early universe.
'We finally have a way to map this cosmic web directly, and to understand in detail its role in regulating the formation of supermassive black holes and galaxies.'
Calvin Sykes, a PhD student in the ICC who contributed to the study, said: 'These observations represent a very important step in validating our theory of the assembly of galaxies, adding a key piece of the puzzle.'
WHAT IS THE COSMIC WEB OF FILAMENTS THAT THE UNIVERSE IS MADE UP OF?
'Ordinary' matter, which makes up everything we can see, corresponds to only five per cent of the known universe. The rest is made up of so-called 'dark matter.'
For decades, at least half of this regular matter had eluded detection, but scientists have in recent years made the first direct observations of a 'cosmic web' of filaments spanning between galaxies.
These filaments are made up of gas at temperatures between 100,000°C (180,032 °F) and 10 million°C (50 million°F) and the experts believe these structures may account for the 'missing' ordinary matter.
Studies have estimated that around 95 per cent of the universe is made of a mixture of 'dark matter' and 'dark energy', which only makes its presence felt by its gravitational pull, but has never been seen directly.
What is less widely known, however, is that around half of the regular matter is also missing.
In 2015, a team led by University of Geneva scientist Dominique Eckert claimed that these 'missing baryons' - subatomic particles made up of three quarks - were detected because of their X-ray signature in a massive cluster of galaxies known as Abell 2744.
Using the XMM-Newton space telescope, the researchers found matter concentrated into a network of knots and links connected through vast filaments, known as the 'cosmic web'.
Large-scale galaxy surveys have shown that the distribution of ordinary matter in the universe is not homogeneous.
Instead, under the action of gravity, matter is concentrated into so-called filamentary structures, forming a network of knots and links called the 'cosmic web'.
The regions experiencing the highest gravitational force collapse and form the knots of the network, such as Abell 2744.
Researchers focused on Abell 2744 - a massive cluster of galaxies with a complex distribution of dark and luminous matter at its centre - to make their finding.
Comparable to neural networks, these knots then connect to one another through filaments, where the researchers identified the presence of gas, and consequently, the missing ordinary matter thought to make up the universe.
"These results dramatically change our understanding of the Milky Way," says co-author Magda Guglielmo from the University of Sydney, Australia.
"We always thought about our galaxy as an inactive galaxy, with a not so bright centre," she added.
The flare created two enormous "ionisation cones" that sliced through the Milky Way and left its imprint on the Magellanic Stream. This is a long trail of gas that extends from nearby dwarf galaxies called the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds.
The stream lies at an average of 200,000 light-years from the Milky Way.
The Australian-US research team says the explosion was too big to have been triggered by anything other than nuclear activity associated with the supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy.
Known as Sagittarius A*, or Sgr A* - this colossus is more than four million times the mass of our Sun. This assessment needs further work but the conclusion seems inescapable, the researchers say.
"The flare must have been a bit like a lighthouse beam," explained team leader Prof Bland-Hawthorn, who is also at the University of Sydney. "Imagine darkness, and then someone switches on a lighthouse beacon for a brief period of time."

Area 51 is known for many things: (A) the secret testing of highly-classified aircraft at the height of the Cold War; (B) the claims of Bob Lazar of alien spacecraft supposedly held at an off-shoot of the top secret facility called S-4; (C) the ridiculous, recent “storming of Area 51″ saga that even got the mainstream media interested; and (D) much more of a conspiratorial and out of this world nature – allegedly, of course. There’s something else too, that you may not have heard of. Namely, a weird incident that occurred back in the 1970s and that was focused on Area 51 and NASA. It all revolves around three astronauts and NASA’s craft Skylab. NASA states of Skylab:
“Skylab was hailed as a ‘bold concept’ by Rocco Petrone, who served as director of launch operations at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida before becoming director of the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., during 1973 and 1974. The program demanded innovation and ingenuity, said Petrone in Skylab, Our First Space Station, a NASA report published in 1977. ‘Experience and knowledge gained from earlier space programs provided a solid foundation on which to build, but the Skylab Program was truly making new pathways in the sky.’ The project began as the Apollo Applications Program in 1968 with an objective to develop science-based human space missions using hardware originally developed for the effort to land astronauts on the moon. Skylab orbited the Earth from 1973 to 1979.”
It was on April 19, 1974 that trouble started brewing. On that day, the then-Director of the CIA, William Colby, received a communication from one of his colleagues, an unknown figure who wanted to discuss a certain “issue.” Colby was told that: “The issue arises from the fact that the recent Skylab mission inadvertently photographed” Area 51. Colby was additionally informed that: “There were specific instructions not to do this.”
Dwayne A. Day, of The Space Review, and who personally broke the story in 2006, said: “In other words, the CIA considered no other spot on Earth to be as sensitive as Groom Lake, and the astronauts had just taken a picture of it.” Uh-oh. Not good. Those astronauts were Edward Gibson, Gerald Carr and William Pogue. Both Pogue and Carr had military backgrounds and Gibson had a doctorate in engineering physics. Day said of their actions: “Why the Skylab astronauts disobeyed their orders and took the photo is unknown, as are what it depicted.”
Director Colby’s informant told him: “This photo has been going through an interagency reviewing process aimed at a decision on how it should be handled. There is no agreement DoD elements (USAF, NRO, JCS, ISA) all believe it should be withheld from public release. NASA, and to a large degree State, has taken the position that it should be released – that is, allowed into the Sioux National Repository and let nature take its course.” Colby was also advised that: “There are some complicated precedents which, in fairness, should be reviewed before a final decision.” There was, Colby was told, “a question of whether anything photographed in the United States can be classified if the platform is unclassified; such complex issues in the UN concerning United States policies toward imagery from space” and “the question of whether the photograph can be withheld without leaking.”
In terms of the outcome, Dwayne A. Day said: “Nothing more is known of this Skylab incident than the fact that the photograph was not released. NASA and the State Department clearly lost the argument. But the opponents of releasing it preserved national security, as they defined it.” None of this, however, explains, why Area 51 was photographed – something that most assuredly got the CIA into a state of concern.
Saturn’s icy moon Enceladus is spitting up organic compounds that could be essential for the building blocks of life. NASA’s Cassini spacecraft discovered that in one of Saturn’s rings there were compounds of nitrogen and oxygen that came from the south pole of the planet’s sixth largest moon.
Because of hydrothermal activity, ice grains are ejected from plumes located on the moon’s south pole which formed one of Saturn’s outermost rings. These nitrogen and oxygen compounds are incredibly important, as they are used on Earth to create amino acids which are essential in the development of living organisms.
Nozair Khawaja, who is a geoscientist at the Free University of Berlin, along with his colleagues, studied the information that was gathered by the Cassini spacecraft. They analyzed the data collected from the “Cosmic Dust Analyzer” on the spacecraft which gathered mass spectrometer readings of the organic compositions that were discovered in the ice grains.
After the team of scientists found molecules floating on the surface of the moon’s ocean last year, they conducted more extensive research and found that the compounds were also dissolved in the water.
The compounds are believed to have been initially dissolved in the moon’s ocean prior to being evaporated from the surface of the water and ended up being condensed onto the ice grains. At that point, it is believed that erupting plumes on the moon threw the ice grains into space and that’s when they gathered in one of Saturn’s outermost rings. Saturn’s E-ring is approximately 186,000 miles wide and contains small water ice particles. While it is believed that some worlds contain liquid water oceans beneath their frozen surfaces, Enceladus is the only one that actually throws its water into space.
Dr. Khawaja explained, “If the conditions are right, these molecules coming from the deep ocean of Enceladus could be on the same reaction pathway as we see here on Earth,” adding, “We don’t know yet if amino acids are needed for life beyond Earth, but finding the molecules that form amino acids is an important piece of the puzzle.”
Enceladus
Frank Postberg, who is a planetary scientist and was also a co-author of the paper that was published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society (which can be read in full here), weighed in by saying, “This work shows that Enceladus’ ocean has reactive building blocks in abundance, and it’s another green light in the investigation of the habitability of Enceladus.”
While at first glance, Enceladus wouldn’t seem as if anything could live on the moon, but with this new discovery of organic compounds, it is certainly a candidate for the possibility of alien life. This is definitely an interesting step forward in finding out if there could possibly be life beyond our planet.
