Study Sheds New Light on Growth of Mysterious Stone Forests
A new study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, reveals a mechanism that may contribute to the formation of sharply pointed rock spires in striking landforms called stone forests.

Stone forests are pointed rock formations resembling trees that populate regions of China, Madagascar, and many other locations worldwide.
They are as majestic as they are mysterious, created by uncertain forces that give them their shape.
“Our work reveals a mechanism that explains how these sharply pointed rock spires, a source of wonder for centuries, come to be,” said senior author Dr. Leif Ristroph, a researcher in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University.
“Through a series of simulations and experiments, we show how flowing water carves ultra-sharp spikes in landforms.”
The study also illuminates a mechanism that explains the prevalence of sharply pointed rock spires in karst, a topography formed by the dissolution of rocks, such as limestone.
The authors simulated the formation of these pinnacles over time through a mathematical model and computer simulations that took into account how dissolving produces flows and how these flows also affect dissolving and thus reshaping of a formation.

To confirm the validity of their simulations, they conducted a series of experiments in the lab.
They replicated the formation of these natural structures by creating sugar-based pinnacles, mimicking soluble rocks that compose karst and similar topographies, and submerging them in tanks of water.
Interestingly, no flows had to be imposed, since the dissolving process itself created the flow patterns needed to carve spikes.
The experimental results reflected those of the simulations, thereby supporting the accuracy of the team’s model.
“These same events happen — albeit far more slowly — when minerals are submerged under water, which later recedes to reveal stone pinnacles and stone forests,” the scientists said.

Large-Scale SETI Survey of Vela Region Finds No Signs of Extraterrestrial Intelligence
Astronomers using the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) radio telescope have searched for technosignatures — indicators of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations — in six known exoplanets and over 10 million stellar systems in the Vela region of our Milky Way Galaxy. But in this part of the Milky Way at least, it appears alien civilizations are elusive, if they exist.

“The MWA is a unique telescope, with an extraordinarily wide field-of-view that allows us to observe millions of stars simultaneously,” said Dr. Chenoa Tremblay, an astronomer at the CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science.
Dr. Tremblay and her colleague, Professor Steven Tingay from the Curtin University node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, searched for narrow-band signals consistent with radio transmissions from six known exoplanets (HD 75289b, HD 73526b, HD 73526c, HD 70642b, DE0823-49b and KELT-15b) and 10,355,066 stellar systems in the Vela region.
“The telescope was searching for powerful radio emissions at frequencies similar to FM radio frequencies, that could indicate the presence of an intelligent source,” she explained.
“We observed the sky around the constellation of Vela for 17 hours, looking more than 100 times broader and deeper than ever before.”
“With this dataset, we found no technosignatures — no sign of intelligent life.”

“Even though this was the broadest search yet, we were not shocked by the result,” Professor Tingay said.
“As Douglas Adams noted in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, ‘space is big, really big’.”
“And even though this was a really big study, the amount of space we looked at was the equivalent of trying to find something in the Earth’s oceans but only searching a volume of water equivalent to a large backyard swimming pool.”
“Since we can’t really assume how possible alien civilizations might utilize technology, we need to search in many different ways.”
“Using radio telescopes, we can explore an eight-dimensional search space,” he said.
“Although there is a long way to go in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, telescopes such as the MWA will continue to push the limits — we have to keep looking.”
The team’s paper appears in the Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia.

Cracks in Europa’s surface indicate the moon’s outer ice shell has shifted by as much as 70 degrees over the past several million years. It’s the kind of movement you’d expect from a planetary crust floating on a subsurface ocean.

Jupiter’s ocean moon Europa looks a bit like a round cracked egg, with its smooth outer ice crust covered in brownish-stained fissures. Those cracks in Europa’s ice shell record the history of its surface and past geological activity. Now, researchers have announced a new study that’s provided more clues as to how the moon’s surface has changed over the last several million years. Its major finding: Europa’s poles are no longer where they used to be. As a whole, the Jovian moon’s icy shell has shifted and reoriented itself by as much as 70 degrees, close to a quarter of the way around a complete circle. This reorientation of the outer ice shell is called true polar wander. The researchers say such a shift would be expected of a world whose outer crust lies above a hidden, subsurface ocean.
The conclusion helps confirm earlier hints of shifts in Europa’s crust. The new work is based on an analysis of global-scale circular patterns in Europa’s surface ice. This massive crustal shift is thought to be one of the most recent major geologic events to have occurred on Europa’s young surface.
The large icy ocean world of Europa has a very young surface that has been highly deformed. Recent evidence for ‘polar wander,’ or reorientation of the floating outer ice shell away from its original orientation, has been confirmed by the recognition that long fissures are part of the polar wander tectonic pattern and are among the youngest features on the planet. This means that polar wander occurred very recently and that older features are no longer in their original locations and will require a complete reassessment of Europa’s tectonic history.

The results have implications not only for Europa’s surface, but also its subsurface ocean. They help confirm the existence of the ocean, already known by other data from years of observations, since the only way the ice shell could reorient itself so dramatically would be if it were uncoupled – freely floating and separated – from the moon’s rocky core by a deep layer of water. As Paul Schenk, lead author of the new paper, said in a statement:
Our key finding is that the fractures associated with true polar wander on Europa cross-cut all terrains. This means that the true polar wander event is very young and that the ice shell and all features formed on it have moved more than 70 degrees of latitude from where they first formed. If true, then the entire recorded history of tectonics on Europa should be reevaluated.
How did the researchers determine that Europa’s ice crust moved so much?
They used a combination of global maps and detailed topographic data from the old Galileo mission to Jupiter in the 1990s and the Voyager missions, which swept past Jupiter in the 1980s. From those early missions, researchers from the Lunar and Planetary Institute, the University of California at Santa Cruz and the University of Arizona were able to correlate some of the large cracks in Europa’s surface with the concentric circular depressions. The global maps have a detailed resolution of about 600 feet (200 meters) per pixel. They revealed that the fractures were part of the other circular patterns caused by the true polar wander process.

When the fractures were viewed at highest resolution – about 130 feet (40 meters) per pixel – they were found to be more than 600 feet (200 meters) deep. These huge cracks are like massive wounds on Europa’s surface, cutting through various types of terrain. By studying these fractures, the researchers could tell that the reorientation of the surface ice was one of the last major geological events to occur on Europa’s surface.
The researchers also say that there is evidence that Europa’s ice crust thickened over time. According to co-investigator Francis Nimmo at the University of California at Santa Cruz:
Another important aspect of this work is that it makes predictions for additional features and ice shell properties which can be tested when the planned Europa Clipper spacecraft starts observing Europa.
Co-investigator Isamu Matsuyama at the University of Arizona added:
In addition to generating global-scale tectonic features, true polar wander also produces global-scale gravity and shape perturbations, which affects gravity and shape constraints on the interior structure.

Europa Clipper is expected to be launched to Europa in the early 2020s. It will complete the global map of Europa, including high-resolution images and even soundings of these features. These maps will help determine the absolute age of the fractures and depressions and other consequences of the true polar wander event that originally created them.
Last June, NASA scientists announced at the Goldschmidt conference that Europa’s subsurface ocean is likely quite habitable, by earthly standards. The study found that Europa’s ocean would have been mildly acidic at first, with high concentrations of carbon dioxide, calcium and sulfate. But over time, it became chloride-rich, resembling oceans on Earth (seawater on Earth contains 1.94% chloride).
Bottom line: Researchers have found that Europa’s outer ice shell has shifted and reoriented itself by as much as 70 degrees over the past several million years.
A new map created by a Reddit user – based on what we know about the highs and lows on Venus’ surface – shows what this neighboring, cloud-shrouded, blazing hot planet might look like with oceans. Wow!

It’s hot enough on the surface of Venus to melt lead. There are also crushing surface pressures and clouds full of sulfuric acid. So there’s no water on the surface of Venus today. This planet – orbiting next-inward from Earth around the sun – is one of the most inhospitable places in our solar system. But scientists think that, a few billion years ago, Venus might have had oceans, perhaps much like those on Earth. Venus might once have been habitable. Even now, some have suggestedterraforming Venus, so that it could become a water world once again in the future. What would Venus look like with water? Reddit user Dragonite-2 has created a map, based on spacecraft data about Venus’ terrain, and posted it to the MapPorn subreddit. It portrays Venus if it were terraformed to become a more Earth-like world, with a similar amount of water to Earth.
The map has now gone viral.
How accurate is it? And what does it show?
Venus is covered with dense clouds. So we can’t see its surface. But radar – from spacecraft orbiting this world, or (in the early days) from Earth – can penetrate the planet’s clouds and has let scientists make maps of the highs and lows on Venus’ surface. That’s why Venus has a known topography, which Dragonite-2 used to create his map of Venus as a water world. Radar images show us Venus’ mountain ranges, volcanoes, quasi-continental formations and other, flatter regions.
Thus, we’ve known – and now Dragonite-2 has helped us see – that if Venus had an Earth-like quantity of water, it would have one large continent in its northern hemisphere. Scientists have named this continent already; they call it Ishtar Terra. It’s about the size of Australia. The highest point on Venus, the mountain Maxwell Montes, is located on Ishtar Terra. There’s also a second large continent – which scientists call Aphrodite Terra – located along the equator of Venus. It’s the size of South America (if South America were stretched out along Earth’s equator, instead of running perpendicular to it). Dragonite-2’s map also illustrates smaller continents and islands that would be scattered throughout Venus’ global oceans, if Venus were a water world.
Dragonite-2’s map posted to Reddit is based on spacecraft data. Most of our information about what lies beneath the dense clouds of Venus was obtained by the Soviet space probe missions Venera 15 and 16 and by the American Pioneer Venus and Magellan spacecraft during the period 1978 to 1994. Today we have good information about 98% of the surface of Venus, according to this page from ESO. This map comes from NOAA’s Science on a Sphere. It’s a compilation of Venus radar data, showing Venus’ topography as it’s known today. NOAA wrote: “Most of Venus appears to be covered with gently rolling plains. Two areas rise up above the rest of the surface and are referred to as ‘continents.'”

Writing in Inverse on August 29, 2020, Mike Brown described the new Venus-as-water-world map. He quoted an associate professor of planetary sciences at North Carolina State University – Paul Byrne – who told Brown that, in one sense, the map is fairly accurate:
… in that someone has taken the real-world digital elevation model for Venus and added a ‘sea level’ to it.
I don’t know how realistic the ‘if Venus had as much water as Earth’ part is, but I’m guessing that whoever made this map picked an average ocean depth for Earth and ‘flooded’ the Venus topography to that same depth.
However, as Byrne also noted to Brown, the surface would look quite different after erosion by rainfall, rivers and lakes. The map portrays Venus’ surface as-is, without plate tectonics. But a planet with oceans likely would have plate tectonics – the gradual movement of land plates on the planet’s crust, relative to one another – just as Earth does.
And that movement of crustal plates would, of course, affect the configuration of continents and islands.

But, of course, in another sense, the map of Venus as a water world doesn’t compute under current real-world conditions. As planetary scientist Byrne noted in the Inverse article:
In reality, it’s not remotely realistic.
That’s because of the extreme conditions that exist on Venus today. A watery ocean can’t exist on a world that’s hot enough to melt lead. So the map isn’t accurate in terms of the real planet Venus now. And now is what this map shows. See the contradiction?
Still, Dragonite-2’s map helps us use our imaginations and cast our minds back in time – or forward into the future – when, according to some visionaries, Venus might be a very different place. Byrne was speaking of the past Venus when he said:
Although a Venus with oceans wouldn’t look much like the Reddit image, it is fun to think about what a blue Venus might once have looked like, and why its climate turned into the hellish world it is today.
And we can imagine Venus as a terraformed world, purposely made to be more habitable and Earth-like again. This is a well-known concept for Mars, to transform the dry, cold planet back into a habitable one. Despite the fact that Mars is the most Earthlike world in our solar system, terraforming Mars would be difficult, according to most experts.
But terraforming Venus – a world the same size and density as Earth, but not remotely like Earth on its surface – would be even more difficult.
That hasn’t stopped some people from thinking about it, though. The famed astronomer Carl Sagan was one of the first to propose ways to terraform Venus, back in 1961. Sagan had suggested seeding Venus’ clouds with algae; later, it was determined that wouldn’t work because the atmosphere was found to be too thick. Astronomer Geoffrey Landis mentioned Sagan’s ideas, and the history of terraforming in general, in a paper from 2011.

Of course, the biggest hurdle in terraforming Venus would be in trying to reverse the runaway greenhouse effect that caused the planet to heat up to the extreme temperatures we see today. That wouldn’t be easy. It would require huge amounts of energy and advanced technology. But a terraformed Venus might have some advantages over a terraformed Mars, according to Paul Byrne. As Byrne points out, Venus is almost the same size as Earth, with similar gravity, and it might be easier to remove carbon dioxide – which makes up most of the planet’s atmosphere and causes the greenhouse effect – from its atmosphere to cool the planet, than to add gases to Mars’ thin atmosphere to warm it. Byrne commented:
If we were to terraform anywhere, then I’d pick Venus over Mars. But, to be clear: it’s going to be orders of magnitude more achievable to stop f%#&ing up our own climate here on Earth than trying to make anywhere else even remotely habitable for humans.

So – while Dragonite-2’s map in Reddit might not be all that accurate according to scientists – it does give us a reason to think. It provides an interesting glimpse at Venus as we’ve never known it, but which might have existed in the past. And – just maybe – it gives us a vision a world that might exist again in the future.

Un jour dans les années 1990, une femme a trouvé une étrange créature dans les bois. 20 ans après sa mort et celle de l’«humanoïde», les gens continuent à se demander ce que c'était réellement.
En été 1996, la petite ville de Kychtym (à 1764 km à l'est de Moscou), dans la région de l'Oural, a été témoin d'une scène bizarre. Une femme à la retraite, Tamara Prosvirina, marchait dans la rue en tenant une chose recouverte dans une couverture, et parlait avec elle.
« Elle nous disait - +C'est mon bébé, Aliochenka [diminutif d'Alexeï]!+ Mais je ne l'ai jamais montré, se souviennent les habitants. Prosvirina avait en fait un fils nommé Alexeï, mais il était déjà grand et en 1996 il était en prison pour vol. Alors, nous avons décidé que la femme était devenue folle - elle parlait à un jouet en pensant que c'était son fils ».
En effet, Prosvirina avait des problèmes mentaux - quelques mois plus tard, elle a été envoyée dans une clinique afin d’être traitée pour schizophrénie. La chose dans la couverture, cependant, n'était pas un jouet mais une créature vivante qu'elle avait trouvée dans les bois près d'un puits.
Ceux qui ont vu Aliochenka l'ont décrit comme un humanoïde de 20-25 centimètres de haut. « Corps brun, pas de cheveux, grands yeux saillants, bougeant ses minuscules lèvres, faisant des bruits grinçant... », selon Tamara Naoumova, amie de Prosvirina qui a vu Aliochenka dans son appartement, et qui plus tard a donné une interview au quotidien Komsomolskaïa Pravda. Sa forme d'oignon n'avait pas l'air humaine du tout.
« Sa bouche était rouge et ronde, il nous regardait..., a confié un autre témoin, la belle-fille de Prosvirnina. Selon elle, la femme nourrissait le « bébé » étrange avec du fromage blanc et du lait condensé. Il avait l'air triste, j'ai ressenti de la douleur en le regardant », se souvient la belle-fille.
Les rapports des habitants diffèrent. Par exemple, Viatcheslav Nagovsky a mentionné que le nain était « poilu » et avait les « yeux bleus ». Nina Glazyrina, une autre amie de Prosvirina, a déclaré: « Il se tenait près du lit, avec de grands yeux ». D'autres disent que l'humanoïde était chauve.
La seule chose sur laquelle ces gens étaient d'accord, c'est qu'Aliochenka « avait l'air d'un vrai extra-terrestre ». D'autre part, les témoignages de gens comme Nagovsky et Glazyrina sont douteux: tous deux étaient des ivrognes et sont morts plus tard d'alcoolisme.
Andreï Lochak, qui a réalisé le film Le nain de Kychtym, a cité les habitants : « Peut-être qu'Aliochenka était un humanoïde [extraterrestre], mais dans ce cas, il a fait une erreur d'atterrissage en arrivant à Kychtym ». Cela semble assez vrai : la ville de 37 000 habitants est loin d'être un paradis.
En 1957, Kychtym fait face à la première catastrophe nucléaire de l'histoire soviétique. Du plutonium a explosé à Maïak, une centrale nucléaire secrète assez proche, projetant le couvercle de béton de 160 tonnes dans les airs. Il s'agit du troisième accident nucléaire le plus grave de l'histoire, derrière Fukushima en 2011 et Tchernobyl en 1986. La région et l'atmosphère ont été gravement polluées.
« Parfois, les pêcheurs attrapaient du poisson sans yeux ni nageoires », a déclaré Lochak. Ainsi, la théorie selon laquelle Aliochenka était un mutant humain déformé par le rayonnement était aussi une explication populaire.
Un jour, l'inévitable est arrivé. Les voisins de Prosvirina ont appelé l'hôpital et les médecins l'ont emmenée. Elle a protesté et a voulu rester avec Aliochenka en arguant que sans elle, il mourrait. « Mais comment pourrais-je croire les mots d'une femme atteinte de schizophrénie aiguë? », s’est demandé un employé du secteur médical local en haussant les épaules.
En effet, le nain de Kychtym est mort sans personne pour le nourrir. Lorsqu'on lui a demandé pourquoi elle n'avait pas rendu visite à Aliochenka ou appelé quelqu’un, l'amie de Prosvirina, Naoumova, répond: « Eh bien, b*rdel, vous n'êtes pas des génies? Je n'étais pas dans le village à ce moment-là ! ». Quand elle est revenue, la petite créature était déjà morte.
Après le départ de Prosvirina, un ami a trouvé le corps et a réalisé un genre de momie: « Il l'a lavé avec du white spirit et l'a séché », a écrit un journal local. Plus tard, l'homme a été arrêté pour avoir volé des câbles et a montré le corps à la police.
« Vladimir Bendline a été la première personne à essayer de donner un sens à cette histoire en étant sobre », indique Lochak. Agent de police local, Bendline a confisqué le corps d'Aliochenka au voleur. Son supérieur, cependant, n'a montré aucun intérêt pour l'affaire et lui a ordonné « d'abandonner cette absurdité ».
Mais Bend line, que Komsomolskaïa Pravda a ironiquement appelé le « Fox Mulder de l'Oural », a commencé sa propre enquête, en conservant Aliochenka dans son réfrigérateur. « Ne demandez même pas ce que ma femme m'en a dit », a-t-il confié d'un air sombre.
Bendline n'a pas réussi à confirmer ou réfuter ses origines extraterrestres. Un pathologiste local a dit qu'il n'était pas humain, alors qu'un gynécologue a prétendu que c'était juste un enfant avec de terribles déformations.

China is expanding its constellation of Earth observation satellites
A Chinese Long March 4B rocket successfully launched a new Earth-watching satellite Monday (Sep. 7) but the booster's spent first stage narrowly missed a school when it fell back to Earth, witness videos show.
The Long March 4B rocket lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China, at 1:57 p.m. local time (1:57 a.m. EDT, 0557 GMT). It carried the powerful Gaofen 11 (02) Earth observation satellite, an optical observation satellite capable of returning high resolution images, showing features as smaller than 3 feet (1 meter) across.

Data returned by the Gaofen satellite will be mainly used for land surveys, city planning, land rights confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation and disaster prevention and mitigation, according to Chinese media.
Amateur footage posted on Chinese social media site Weibo following the launch apparently shows the first stage of the Long March 4B falling to Earth and exploding into a cloud of orange smoke. The footage was captured near the Lilong village, Gaoyao Town in the Luonan county of Shaanxi province, according to its author.
One piece of footage appears to be taken from a school yard with children’s voices audible and a plume of smoke visible in the distance.
The Long March 4B first stage uses a mix of toxic hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide for propellant. Contact with either could bring serious effects on health.
China has three space launch sites situated deep inland, with their locations chosen to provide security during the Cold War. A new coastal launch site at Wenchang is limited to launching new Long March 5 and 7 rockets.
Launches from Xichang often see rocket debris fall near inhabited areas. Those areas calculated to be potentially threatened are warned and evacuated ahead of launch. The incident on Monday suggests fewer precautions were taken, though the emergence of footage also suggests locals may have been expecting activity.
The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) developed and manufactured the Gaofen 11 (02) satellite. Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST), one of the major institutes under CASC, manufactured the two-stage Long March 4B rocket. The corporation's main rocket-manufacturing facilities are in Beijing and Shanghai.
Today’s launch was China’s 25th so far in 2020, including a test flight of the Long March 5B for space-station missions and the launch of the Tianwen-1—the country’s first independent interplanetary mission. Three of the 25 launches ended in failure.
China’s main state-owned space contractor said in January it would aim for around 40 launches in 2020, with commercial launch service providers additionally carrying out their own missions.

We have found a new paradox in quantum mechanics — one of our two most fundamental scientific theories, together with Einstein's theory of relativity — that throws doubt on some common-sense ideas about physical reality.
Quantum mechanics vs. common sense
Take a look at these three statements:
When someone observes an event happening, it really happened.
It is possible to make free choices, or at least, statistically random choices.
A choice made in one place can’t instantly affect a distant event. (Physicists call this “locality”.)
These are all intuitive ideas, and widely believed even by physicists. But our research, published in Nature Physics, shows they cannot all be true — or quantum mechanics itself must break down at some level.
This is the strongest result yet in a long series of discoveries in quantum mechanics that have upended our ideas about reality. To understand why it's so important, let's look at this history.
The battle for reality
Quantum mechanics works extremely well to describe the behavior of tiny objects, such as atoms or particles of light (photons). But that behavior is … very odd.
In many cases, quantum theory doesn't give definite answers to questions such as "where is this particle right now?" Instead, it only provides probabilities for where the particle might be found when it is observed.
For Niels Bohr, one of the founders of the theory a century ago, that's not because we lack information, but because physical properties like "position" don't actually exist until they are measured.
And what's more, because some properties of a particle can't be perfectly observed simultaneously — such as position and velocity — they can't be real simultaneously.
No less a figure than Albert Einstein found this idea untenable. In a 1935 article with fellow theorists Boris Podolsky and Nathan Rosen, he argued there must be more to reality than what quantum mechanics could describe.
The article considered a pair of distant particles in a special state now known as an "entangled" state. When the same property (say, position or velocity) is measured on both entangled particles, the result will be random — but there will be a correlation between the results from each particle.
For example, an observer measuring the position of the first particle could perfectly predict the result of measuring the position of the distant one, without even touching it. Or the observer could choose to predict the velocity instead. This had a natural explanation, they argued, if both properties existed before being measured, contrary to Bohr's interpretation.
However, in 1964 Northern Irish physicist John Bell found Einstein's argument broke down if you carried out a more complicated combination of different measurements on the two particles.
Bell showed that if the two observers randomly and independently choose between measuring one or another property of their particles, like position or velocity, the average results cannot be explained in any theory where both position and velocity were pre-existing local properties.
That sounds incredible, but experiments have now conclusively demonstrated Bell's correlations do occur. For many physicists, this is evidence that Bohr was right: physical properties don't exist until they are measured.
But that raises the crucial question: what is so special about a "measurement"?
The observer, observed
In 1961, the Hungarian-American theoretical physicist Eugene Wigner devised a thought experiment to show what's so tricky about the idea of measurement.
He considered a situation in which his friend goes into a tightly sealed lab and performs a measurement on a quantum particle — its position, say.
However, Wigner noticed that if he applied the equations of quantum mechanics to describe this situation from the outside, the result was quite different. Instead of the friend's measurement making the particle's position real, from Wigner's perspective the friend becomes entangled with the particle and infected with the uncertainty that surrounds it.
This is similar to Schrödinger's famous cat, a thought experiment in which the fate of a cat in a box becomes entangled with a random quantum event.
For Wigner, this was an absurd conclusion. Instead, he believed that once the consciousness of an observer becomes involved, the entanglement would "collapse" to make the friend's observation definite.
But what if Wigner was wrong?
Our experiment
In our research, we built on an extended version of the Wigner's friend paradox, first proposed by Časlav Brukner of the University of Vienna. In this scenario, there are two physicists — call them Alice and Bob — each with their own friends (Charlie and Debbie) in two distant labs.
There's another twist: Charlie and Debbie are now measuring a pair of entangled particles, like in the Bell experiments.
As in Wigner's argument, the equations of quantum mechanics tell us Charlie and Debbie should become entangled with their observed particles. But because those particles were already entangled with each other, Charlie and Debbie themselves should become entangled — in theory.
Our experiment goes like this: the friends enter their labs and measure their particles. Some time later, Alice and Bob each flip a coin. If it's heads, they open the door and ask their friend what they saw. If it's tails, they perform a different measurement.
This different measurement always gives a positive outcome for Alice if Charlie is entangled with his observed particle in the way calculated by Wigner. Likewise for Bob and Debbie.
In any realisation of this measurement, however, any record of their friend's observation inside the lab is blocked from reaching the external world. Charlie or Debbie will not remember having seen anything inside the lab, as if waking up from total anaesthesia.
But did it really happen, even if they don't remember it?
If the three intuitive ideas at the beginning of this article are correct, each friend saw a real and unique outcome for their measurement inside the lab, independent of whether or not Alice or Bob later decided to open their door. Also, what Alice and Charlie see should not depend on how Bob's distant coin lands, and vice versa.
We showed that if this were the case, there would be limits to the correlations Alice and Bob could expect to see between their results. We also showed that quantum mechanics predicts Alice and Bob will see correlations that go beyond those limits.
Next, we did an experiment to confirm the quantum mechanical predictions using pairs of entangled photons. The role of each friend's measurement was played by one of two paths each photon may take in the setup, depending on a property of the photon called "polarisation". That is, the path "measures" the polarisation.
Our experiment is only really a proof of principle, since the "friends" are very small and simple. But it opens the question whether the same results would hold with more complex observers.
We may never be able to do this experiment with real humans. But we argue that it may one day be possible to create a conclusive demonstration if the "friend" is a human-level artificial intelligence running in a massive quantum computer.
What does it all mean?
Although a conclusive test may be decades away, if the quantum mechanical predictions continue to hold, this has strong implications for our understanding of reality — even more so than the Bell correlations. For one, the correlations we discovered cannot be explained just by saying that physical properties don't exist until they are measured.
Now the absolute reality of measurement outcomes themselves is called into question.
Our results force physicists to deal with the measurement problem head on: either our experiment doesn't scale up, and quantum mechanics gives way to a so-called "objective collapse theory", or one of our three common-sense assumptions must be rejected.
There are theories, like de Broglie-Bohm, that postulate "action at a distance", in which actions can have instantaneous effects elsewhere in the universe. However, this is in direct conflict with Einstein's theory of relativity.
Some search for a theory that rejects freedom of choice, but they either require backwards causality, or a seemingly conspiratorial form of fatalism called "superdeterminism".
Another way to resolve the conflict could be to make Einstein's theory even more relative. For Einstein, different observers could disagree about when or where something happens — but what happens was an absolute fact.
However, in some interpretations, such as relational quantum mechanics, QBism, or the many-worlds interpretation, events themselves may occur only relative to one or more observers. A fallen tree observed by one may not be a fact for everyone else.
All of this does not imply that you can choose your own reality. Firstly, you can choose what questions you ask, but the answers are given by the world. And even in a relational world, when two observers communicate, their realities are entangled. In this way a shared reality can emerge.
Which means that if we both witness the same tree falling and you say you can't hear it, you might just need a hearing aid.

Out of all the planets in the solar system, Neptune is the one that looks most peaceful. When seen through a telescope, the eighth and most distant planet from the sun appears sky-blue or as a uniform, peaceful ocean world that would have made the Roman god of the sea proud.
In reality, Neptune is anything but peaceful and its atmosphere is actually mainly made of three gases: hydrogen (80%), helium (19%), and methane (1%).
It’s actually clouds of methane gas that are responsible for the distant planet’s blue marble appearance. Despite the fact it makes up a relatively tiny proportion of Neptune’s atmosphere, methane absorbs red wavelengths of light and reflects blue light outward.
A distant blue gem
Neptune is the only planet in the solar system that isn’t visible to the naked eye. As such, it was among the last to be discovered in 1846 by Johann Galle, based on mathematical predictions made by Urbain Le Verrier.
But during these initial observations, astronomers had no idea what Neptune looked like.
The planet, which is about four times larger than Earth, was first visited by a spacecraft in 1989 when NASA’s Voyager 2 made a flyby. Voyager beamed back images showing Neptune’s ocean-like hue for the first time. It was really a stroke of luck that Neptune was so aptly named when astronomers could not have known that the planet is all blue.

Similarly to Uranus, Neptune is one-fifth hydrogen and helium by mass. The bulk of the planet’s mass, however, is owed to heavier molecules such as ammonia, methane, carbon, oxygen, and water.
Despite their similarities in size and composition, Neptune and Uranus are distinctly colored. This is explained by different chemical components in each of the planets’ upper atmospheres, particularly in the global cloud deck.
Neptune’s clouds are known to vary with altitude, just like on Earth. Methane clouds condense in the highest layers of the planet’s atmosphere due to frigidly cold temperatures. Further down, there may be clouds of hydrogen sulfide, ammonium sulfide, ammonia, and water. The blue-toned methane isn’t evenly distributed; ten to a hundred times more methane, ethane, and ethyne can be found at Neptune’s equator than at its poles.
Being present in the outermost layer of the atmosphere, the most important compound that influences the color of both planets’ atmospheres is methane. The greenhouse gas absorbs red light at wavelengths of 600 billionths of a meter, reflecting back bluer light. Uranus, however, is more azure, blue-green in appearance due to an additional chromophore that Neptune seems to lack. This particular chromophore hasn’t been identified yet so the true nature of Neptune’s color is still a mystery.
The year 2020 has given us plenty of reasons to hate it, including what may turn out to be a record number of hurricanes, with a few of them reaching Category 5. If you’re not concerned, you may be after learning what happened during a similar time 1000 years ago. Scientists researching core samples of sediment from the Great Blue Hole off the coast of Belize found evidence of severe hurricanes in the Caribbean around the year 900 CE … that’s the same time the Maya civilization collapsed in Central America. Is the popular theory that the collapse was caused by severe droughts about to collapse too?
In a new study published recently in the journal Nature and reviewed in the Smithsonian, Dominik Schmitt of Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, reveals what he found in an 8.5-meter-long sediment core from the Great Blue Hole on Lighthouse Reef off the coast of Belize – the weather history of the area gong back 2000 years. The Great Blue Hole is a sinkhole formed at least 153,000 years ago during shallower times in the Caribbean. Since then, sediment has accumulated in it to the point where the water about it is a little over 400 feet deep. That’s easy for drilling equipment to reach and the sediment is this and other blue holes is prized because the sinkholes keep it undisturbed – a perfect geological history book.

While the core gave a history of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO) and the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) ocean and atmospheric systems dating back to 100 CE, it was an anomaly around the year 900 that caught Schmitt’s eye.
“The tropical cyclone activity of the southwestern Caribbean generally shifted from a less active (100–900 CE) to a more active state (900 CE to modern).”
Previous studies showed that heavy sediment deposits occur during severe hurricanes. This time period five thick deposits — 15 to 30 cm (5.9 to 11.8 inches) each — deposited between 700 and 1150. Is that bad? To put it in perspective, the deposit layer left during Hurricane Hattie – a Category 5 considered to be one of the worst to hit the Caribbean in recent times — was just 4 cm (1.5 inches) thick.

The Great Blue Hole sediment layers show that these five massive hurricanes hit before, during and after major drought periods, compounding the flooding, crop failures, infrastructure collapses and environmental destruction going on at the time. And yet, Richard Sullivan, a student of paleoclimatology at Texas A&M University at Galveston who conducted a similar sediment study on cores taken from a sinkhole south of Tulum, Mexico, near the Maya site of Muyil and found similar indications, has a hard time reaching a conclusion.
“… it’s not hard to imagine that a culture contending with severe drought and already in decline would have been stressed further by persistent, devastating storms. It is certainly possible that increasing hurricane frequency factored into the collapse of the Mayan empire, but the extent of that contribution is something we may never know conclusively.”
Schmitt’s study throws in a phase of increased solar activity and reduced tropical and high-latitude volcanic activity prior to the hurricanes that could have led to “extensive hydro-climate changes” that may have triggered the weather anomalies. Whatever it was, the key phrase is “climate change.”
For what it’s worth, Medellin, Colombia, has made a herculean attempt to mend its ways from the drug cartel days, but that hasn’t stopped strange things from happening in the skies that are defying normal explanations. After hearing strange sounds from the sky in August, Medellin entered September with a number of people seeing strange lights in the sky that remind many of the Phoenix lights. Is Medellin ready for a Colombian Project Blue Book?
“Several witnesses in Colombia documented the appearance of mysterious lights in the sky of Medellín this past weekend. Diana Rincón spoke with some of them about this strange phenomenon that created fear and uncertainty among those who recorded it.”
They weren’t Chinese lanterns this time.
The Al Rojo Vivo (Red Hot) news program first broadcast a collection of the sightings apparently seen and recorded by a number of Medellin residents on the night of August 29 — that’s a few days after the mysterious sounds were heard. Latin and South America UFO expert Juan Jesús Vallejo was interviewed and he had this to say at that time:
“[The objects] move in an intelligent and coordinated manner. This sighting lasted a long time.”
While some of the videos seemed to show a line of lights, causing some to suggest they were SpaceX’s Starlink satellites – the curse of astronomers and UFO spotters – but others showed the movement and patterns Vallejo commented on. While that might suggest drones, Vallejo elaborated on the sightings in a YouTube video and comments suggest at least some of the videos (which came from multiple locations in Medellin) appeared to be UFOs that weren’t drones.
If not drones or satellites, what were these lights over Medellin? Since the Phoenix lights – which a number of people compared them to – have been generating theories, investigations and disagreements since 1997, a quick answer is not likely to come. Are they related to the strange sounds a few days before? If the sounds were from a weather anomaly (one theory), probably not. If the sounds were some secret government or military tests, then there might be a link.
Will this bring them back?
In 2013 and 2014, there were some strange UFO sightings over Medellin that resembled balloons or blimps, but not enough to be identified at the time. The recent videos are also difficult to identify unequivocally – drones are the most probable cause but there are many doubters.
Which is the real issue – doubt causes fear, fear causes panic, panic causes irrational thinking … and so on. Leaders know this and take advantage of it. Take a deep breath and demand answers … and continue to demand them until realistic ones are given. For what it’s worth, Stephen Stills would probably agree.

I found a white fungus structure, but next to it is a massive square entrance. The entrance is dark from the shadowy depth. The map ruler says this square entrance is 5km by 5km. Thats big enough for spaceships to enter and exist. This must be one of the entrances to an underground city. This entrance and the structure near it are 100% proof that aliens exist and thrive on Mercury. Now you know why NASA tries to keep the existence of aliens secret. Here is a video just into MUFON today. A huge contrail is seen being made across the sky over New York and then suddenly its stops and out pops a white UFO. The UFO soon disappears and then reappears and disappears again.
At first it looks like its made by a computer, but then how he holds the camera and the object is not in the middle of the screen and I can find no sign of CGI, so I believe it may be real. The UFO is in a three step lightning bolt shape. This kinda reminds me of a round sphere UFO that appeared over New York and also disappeared the same way a few years ago. If this is real and it looks real...then its a very rare event caught only once ever 5-7 years.
This is an interesting structure on Mercury. The building is about 5km across according to the rule of the map. Also it has a huge rectangle doorway. The door is probably for ships to enter and exit. Life could not exist on the surface exposed to space unless there were buildings on the surface, however life could exist under the ground in cities built to house tens of thousands. That door is 1.5km across by 2.5km tall.

Hey everyone. This is a weird post today. I got an eye for detail as you may know already. I was looking at a Banksy print and noticed that one painting actually revels the true identity of Banksy himself. Banksy is a famous graffiti artist in the UK known for being a guy who hides his identity. Now Robert Del Naja is a member of the music group Massive Attack and has long since been suspected of being Banksy. I even found a photo of Robert inside the Banksy Walled Off Hotel which is in Palestine. Well, Robert Del Naja also makes graffiti art, and he signs all his art 3D. This piece of art showing a rat with 3D glasses gives him away...and shows how he tried to tell the world who he really is. Also to top it off, Robert Del Naja signs his art 3D, but that signature looks eerily similar to the Ba in Banksy. Same writing, same strokes. A clear sign that Robert Del Naja tries so hard to tell the world who he really is, but the world just didn't see it. Takes a keen eye to notice these details. Thats one thing I got. Scott C. Waring

The Moon’s City, Bases and Towers
While stationed at Langley Air Force Base the NASA facility used Air Force Intelligence Technical repair personnel who saw various structures on the moon in the Apollo photography while they were repairing NASA photographic equipment. This discovery was an open secret in Tactical Air Command’ s intelligence Headquarters and told to me. My friend Dr. Cornet was able to obtain some of the interesting photos.
Dr. Bruce Cornet writes “The average person will be surprised to learn that there are huge structures on the Moon that appear to be quite old. The photographs certainly suggest an ancient advanced civilization and an attempt by NASA to keep it secret by blacking out various photographs.”
Tower and Shard
The Lunar Orbiter photograph and the three sequential photographs (AS10-32-4854-56) taken from the Apollo spacecraft all show the “Tower” (and “Shard”) in the southwestern area of Sinus Medii from different angles and different perspectives. The Surveyor 6 photograph shows anomalous geometric structures above the ground, like those associated with the tower extending to the north of the “Tower” for about a hundred miles. The censored Apollo 10 photograph near Ukert crater shows anomalous geometric structures extending on the ground for tens of miles over an area the size of the Los Angeles.
of compelling evidence of ancient structural artifacts present on the Moon.
Confirmed through cross comparisons of overwhelming imaging evidence, from several separate NASA missions — with different photographic technologies, different lighting, and different viewing geometries — these studies now leave little doubt that A: this solar system has been host to some prior habitation by intelligence, and B: some within NASA have apparently known about and deliberately suppressed this robust evidence for more than thirty years.
Brookings
According to McDaniel, an early NASA study was commissioned from the Brookings Institution in 1959 and may have formed the basis of current NASA policy.2 This study specifically anticipates the possible future discovery of intelligently designed artifacts elsewhere in the solar system by unmanned NASA probes, and considers “how might such information, under what circumstances, be presented to or withheld from the public, for what ends?”
The apparent reason given for considering the possibility of withholding information from the public, should extraterrestrial artifacts be discovered, was the apprehension voiced within this Study that society itself might “disintegrate.” Everything in NASA’s (otherwise inexplicable) behavior regarding the possibly artificial structures on Mars, and those now discovered on the Moon, indicates that NASA has been following, and intends to follow for the indefinite future, the policy of withholding information outlined in the Brookings Institution Report.
THE SHARD The Shard is an obvious structure which rises above the Moon’s surface by more than a mile. Its overall irregular spindly shape (containing a regular geometric pattern) with constricted nodes and swollen internodes, if natural, has got to be a wonder of the Universe. No known natural process can explain such a structure. Computer enhancement with about 190 feet (60 meters) resolution shows an irregular outline with more reflective and less reflective surfaces. The amount of sunlight reflecting from parts of the Shard indicate a composition inconsistent with that of most natural substances. Only crystal facets and glass can reflect that much light (polished metallic surfaces are unnatural). Single crystals the size of city blocks are currently unknown. I concur with Hoagland that the Shard may be a highly eroded remnant of some sort of artificial structure made of glass-like material. O ther larger structures and their reflectivity in the area support this theory.

Closeup Shard Tower

All of these unnatural structures appear to have sustained varying degrees of damage from meteorite and micrometeorite impact. (1-2 miles), for example, exist within the anomalous area near Ukert, and clearly post-date the anomalies. Recognition of such damage is important in understanding and interpreting the nature and time sequence in the origin of these structures. UKERT Ukert is a crater-like feature that displays a circumscribed equilateral triangle at full Moon (Noon local time) in its center. I agree with Richard C. Hoagland’s interpretation that this triangle is not natural, because the sides of the “crater” are much brighter only opposite the sides of this triangle. The apices or angles of the triangle intersect the darkest three areas of the “crater” rim, while the brightest three areas of the rim are opposite the sides of the triangle. In addition, the brightest parts of the rim are midway between the apices of the triangle, and are at 120 degrees orientation from one another. If a line is drawn from the centers of each bright area across the triange to the opposing angle, the lines will exactly bisect each angle. Such regular geometry is not a natural feature of any terrain, either on Earth or on the Moon. Furthermore, the symbolism of an equilateral triangle within a circle is a two dimensional representation of a tetrahedral pyramid within a sphere. Tetrahedral geometry is hypothesized to be the primary message encoded in the geometry of the Cydonia complex on Mars (Hoagland, 1992; McDaniel, 1993).
THE TOWER The Tower represents an enigma of the highest magnitude, because it rises more than five miles above the surface of the Moon, and has been photographed from five different angles and two different altitudes (from 30 miles altitude, and from 70 miles altitude at three different distances). In all four photographs the same structure is visible, and can be viewed from two different sides. The Tower exists in front of and to the left of the Shard in the Lunar Orbiter III-84M photograph. The distance from the Tower and the camera is estimated at about 200 miles, while the distance of the Shard beyond the Tower is estimated at about 230 mile away. The top of the Tower has a very ordered cubic geometry, and appears to be composed of regular cubes (similar in size) joined together to form a very large cube with an estimated width of over one mile!

There is apparent damage to the outline and surface of this megacube, because many cubic spaces or indentations occur over its surface (these spaces are 50-60 times larger than pixel size, and their shapes are not controlled by the rectangular shape of the pixel). A narrow columnar structure connects this cube with the surface of the Moon. The columnar support is at least three miles tall, and tapers towards its base. The taper may be in part due to perspective, if the Tower is oriented at an angle and is leaning towards the camera. The leaning Tower may be part of a larger more transparent structure, which is also inclined. Surrounding the Tower are faint indications of additional light- reflective material. The amount of light coming from this material is very small compared with the amount of light reflected off the lunar surface. In order to make it visible, the surface of the Moon has to be over-exposed on the photograph. The pattern that becomes visible above the Moon’s surface is not caused by the scan lines that make up the Lunar Orbiter photography. The scan lines can be seen clearly, and are oriented at different angles from the orientation of patterns in the sky. The regular cubic and/or rectangular nature of this pattern, and indications of radiating structures that connect the Tower with the surface indicate that material of low light reflectivity exists above the Moon’s surface over a large area measured in hundreds of miles.

The irregular splotchy reflection from some of this aerial material may be due to meteorite and projectile damage over millions of years. Its highly transparent nature (bright stars can be seen behind and through this material) indicates either an open grid with cubic spaces or glass-like material held together by some sort of structural grid or a combination of both. Other photographs confirm the size and extent of this grid-like construction. This grid pattern appears to be three-dimensional, and is expressed as dark lines with random points of reflection around those lines. The grid appears to be some sort of support structure, perhaps formed from a metallic rebar. The reflective material associated with it is cubic and hexagonal in design, but incomplete. With different attitudes or angles of sight, different areas of the grid structure become illuminated or reflective, implying that angle of incidence is important. This material is the remnant portions of the glass structure, which still remains attached and suspended above the Moon’s surface on a metallic cross support structure. The Tower, by contrast, is visible in all three photographs, because there is much more glass remaining than on the suspended grid structure around the Tower. Even from different angles and distances in these photographs, the top of the Tower appears as a giant cube made up of smaller cubic and hexagonal objects. There is no way to get around this evidence once it becomes apparent.
The Castle
This photo of the “castle” tower is absolutely bizarre. Judging from the lighting in the craters on the lower left corner it is apparent the sun coming from the upper right side of the photo. If you look at the immense unlit area in the right half of the photo, it begs the question, “where is the sunlight on the surface.” The logical conclusion is that something above the surface is blocking the sun. It is in this area we find the “castle” tower. Close scrutiny by legitimate scientists place the “castle” some 9 miles above the surface of the moon.
When I first became aware of this anomaly some 11 years ago, I obtained the original photograph from NASA to verify for myself.
The nay-sayers on here can not have seriously looked at the overwhelming body of evidence that proves NASA has been lying to us for all these years about the true nature of man and his past. The greater question is why? What is going on at the upper echelons of power in this world that they do not want you to know.
Construction of Structures
The combination of structures certainly provides strong evidene that alien life is far more more advanced technical civiliztion that are own. There is the posibility that our ancient forefathers were much more advance than we know, and destroyed their civilization thousands of years ago. .
Moon Base
Now, scientists, including Taylor and Yang Liu, research assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, have discovered that water on the moon is more widespread on the outside and inside of the moon with similarities to water in volcanic systems on Earth.
Their research will be featured in the article, “Lunar Apatite with Terrestrial Volatile Abundances,” in the July 22 edition of the scientific journal, Nature.

And the moon hosts even more gargantuan lava tubes, with heights that dwarf Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and “skylights” as big as football fields.

Ionized particles, streaming through space as slower-moving solar wind or relativistic cosmic rays add to that risk. And we know from the experiences of the only humans to exit the magnetosphere — Apollo astronauts — that even a few days’ exposure to those particles can trigger headaches, flashes of light and cataracts, the researchers of the new study noted in their new paper. Plus, there’s always the risk that a solar flare or cosmic ray burst could expose a Martian habitat to a sudden, deadly dose.
Lava tubes under the surface of both the moon and Mars are large enough to be the homes of planetary bases.
Large numbers of aliens could be living on the moon underground in Lava tubes that are a hundred to thousands of time bigger on the moon.
We measured the size and gathered the morphology of lunar and Martian collapse chains (collapsed lava tubes), using digital terrain models (DTMs), which we obtained through satellite stereoscopic images and laser altimetry taken by interplanetary probes,” reminds Riccardo Pozzobon. “We then compared these data to topographic studies about similar collapse chains on the Earth’s surface and to laser scans of the inside of lava tubes in Lanzarote and the Galapagos. These data allowed to establish a restriction to the relationship between collapse chains and subsurface cavities that are still intact.”
Researchers found that Martian and lunar tubes are respectively 100 and 1,000 times wider than those on Earth, which typically have a diameter of 10 to 30 meters. Lower gravity and its effect on volcanism explain these outstanding dimensions (with total volumes exceeding 1 billion cubic meters on the Moon).
Riccardo Pozzobon adds: “Tubes as wide as these can be longer than 40 kilometers, making the Moon an extraordinary target for subsurface exploration and potential settlement in the wide protected and stable environments of lava tubes. The latter are so big they can contain Padua’s Italy entire city center.”

“What is most important is that, despite the impressive dimension of the lunar tubes, they remain well within the roof stability threshold because of a lower gravitational attraction,” explains Matteo Massironi, who is professor of Structural and Planetary Geology at the Department of Geosciences of the University of Padua. “This means that the majority of lava tubes underneath the maria smooth plains are intact. The collapse chains we observed might have been caused by asteroids piercing the tube walls. This is what the collapse chains in Marius Hills seem to suggest. From the latter, we can get access to these huge underground cavities.”
Francesco Sauro concludes: “Lava tubes could provide stable shields from cosmic and solar radiation and micrometeorite impacts which are often happening on the surfaces of planetary bodies. Moreover, they have great potential for providing an environment in which temperatures do not vary from day- to night-time. Space agencies are now interested in planetary caves and lava tubes, as they represent a first step towards future explorations of the lunar surface (see also NASA’s project Artemis) and towards finding life (past or present) in Mars subsurface.”
Researchers also point out how this study opens up to a completely new perspective in planetary exploration, which is increasingly focusing on the subsurface of Mars and the Moon.
“In autumn 2019, ESA called up universities and industries with a campaign seeking ideas for developing technologies for lunar caves exploration. They are specifically looking for systems that would land on the lunar surface to operate missions exploring lunar tubes,” clarifies professor Jo De Waele, who is one of the authors of the study and a speleologist. “Since 2012, in collaboration with some European universities including Bologna and Padua, ESA has been carrying out two training programs for astronauts focusing on the exploration of underground systems (CAVES) and planetary geology (PANGAEA). These programs include lava tubes on the island of Lanzarote. So far, 36 astronauts from five space agencies have received training in cave hiking; moreover, six astronauts and four mission and operation specialists have received geological field training.”
THE CITY COMPLEX NEAR UKERT Photograph AS10-32-4822 in NASA catalog SP-232 is blacked out, along with several other photographs. When it was ordered, the image was of high quality, contrary to what was implied by it being blacked out in the catalog. Instead of a poor photograph, the image shows features near Ukert crater that defy conventional explanation. A linear dome-shaped hill runs diagonally across the photograph. To the north of that hill a large area exists with regularly aligned rows of structure. Within this anomalous area more than a dozen small craters can be seen that modify the landscape. From a distance the regular rows appear like benches. On Earth such a feature would be interpreted as the pattern produced by the eroded edges of layered rocks that dip below the surface. But on the Moon there have been no physical processes that can account for such a regular geologic structure. Furthermore, rills and wrinkles on the surface of a cooling magma outflow do not form such a regular pattern, as is evident in so many mare on the Moon. And this anomalous pattern has definite boundaries beyond which it is absent. In NASA catalog SP-232 is blacked out, along with several other photographs. Apollo 11 Crew Saw Craft on the Moon
Gold UFOs non Rim of Crater 16 July 1969 Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins Maurice Chatelain, former NASA chief of communications specialists and designer of the Apollo communication and data-processing system, says that Armstrong reported seeing two “other spacecraft” on the rim of a crater. Ham operators listening on VHF supposedly picked up a communication confirming this.and there are rumors that Armstrong has since confirmed this privately. There are also rumors that the astronauts saw alien bases and mining operations on the moon and that the aliens warned us off the moon!
NASA Fireman Saw UFO Photos
Houston NASA Fireman reports, when an alarm came in at the Fire Station, we responded to the floor of the building that showed up on the annunciator panel at the station, One time, around 1964, we responded to Bldg.#2 to find that the alarm originated from the “crypto” room.
However, the doors were open and we just walked in to check the minor panel located there. The whole east wall was covered with photos of UFOs. As we finished up, the officer of that room came back in and found us there. He actually pulled his sidearm and pointed it at us before demanding to know why we had entered that room.
He eventually accepted our explanation, but it took Everette D. Shafer*, head of NASA Security to vouch for us before the man would shut off his threats towards us. Everette Shafer reminded him, that had the armed officer been there in the room with the door locked, the incident could have been avoided.

They are funding Democrats with $45 million for the election. I wonder how many scientists, doctors, singers have been killed? Literally hundreds of workers in the clinics have quit giving amazing stories of cruelty. Black women were more than 3.5 times more likely to have an abortion than white women (CDC). Planned Parenthood is given $616.8 million in taxpayer funding, in 2019 and has $1.6 billion in total revenue. I have no trouble with birth control patches and procedures. . Recently Democratic Federal Judges slapped down heart beat laws in six states limiting abortion to six weeks when the baby’s heart starts beating. The laws were initially passed in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
The country is in daily riots over the white police killing 14 blacks many in gun battles. If black lives really matter why no riots against the 8,000 blacks killed each year by blacks and hundreds of thousand aborted black babies each year?. It seems the high abortion rate is not lost on young black men who slaughter each other. 2700 babies will be murdered today; your vote will help stop it.

California Object
Fresno— On October 13, 2019 at 9:21 pm I was in my backyard on a clear night. I looked to the west and saw a star like object moving with a steady speed then it turned right heading south. I had my NIKON D3300 with me so I started taking photos. I then went inside and looked at my photos on my Mac. I saw that I had captured something different silent, metallic,, and unique. The shape of this object looked like two V’s or boomerangs together with space in between them

Florida Lights Orange Object
Stuart – On July 13, 2020 – My sighting was at 9:30 PM and lasted about 2 minutes. I saw an object moving west to east then it changed shape and turned north. It was about 30 degrees off of the horizon, one mile away. The UFO looked larger than the photos shows and was translucent orange in color and made no sound at all. Belleville – On August 29, 2020, dozens of orange fireballs baseball or softball size coming from the north directly over my home traveling south they were not in a straight line but they were traveling together traveling at the same speed consistent orange bright glow throughout the experience,I think at least over 50 objects
Nebraska Object
Ashland— On August 26, 2020, some type of orb was above Nebraska near a bright light.
Object was not seen until photo was viewed the next day.
Could be lens reflection from the bright light.
Nevada Lights
Carson City — We initially observed just one object traveling north. It was a bright ligh then suddenly we observed 6 to 8 more objects traveling south bound. I was able to get a brief cell phone video on June 2, 2020. Upon inspecting t he video afterward, several more objects were observed flying around the clustered group at high speeds.
New York Triangle
Fishkill— At Boys Sleepaway Camp on July 25, 1990, a friend of mine are waiting for the next bus to ride into town. It was like a scene from Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. I hear a medium sounding d hum. I look up and see avery slow moving triangular shaped UFO, over the lounge. The craft was so low I can see the detail and can touch it. It was a matted graycolor craft with three glass lights illuminating from underneath each corner of the triangle. The lights were a Matted Magenta in color and they weren’t bright. I called out 12 boys who came out of the lounge to look and were also amazed at what they were seeing.
Oklahoma Object
Prue— On August 23rd 2020, my wife and I were traveling on a back road to Skytook, We noticed a sphere that looked like a giant chrome ornament pulling yet a smaller chrome ornament under neath. There was no visible tethering. It came toward us rapidly then abruptly turned and headed North West at a high rate of speed directly toward a small cloud then within minutes it had completely dissipated. We do not have a clue what it was.
Oregon Object
Government Camp.I was up early on July 26, 2020, and decided to go up to watch the sun come up. I was about 2/3 of the way up Timberline Road and had a great view of Mt. Jefferson which is due south by 70 miles. You can also see Broken Top andt north Sister from that corner. I took about 10 pictures all within a few seconds of each other. The next day I noticed that the second picture had an object with some sort of an air pocket around it.
Pennsylvania Object
Hanover— On August 10th, 2020, I was on my back porch messing with the camera on my new Samsung Galaxy S20 and checking out the features I heard a passenger Jet flying overhead and I took some pictures of the plane. The jetliner was about 35,000 feet high when I zoomed in I noticed three UFOs in a triangle pattern around the jetliner. I zoomed in on the pictures and a UFO was under the plane. My Mother was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines when they had a UFO fly next to her plane for over a 1/2 hour. Her flight was documented with Project Blue Book.

Newport News— I stepped outside and saw thee moon during the day. I looked down and then back up at the moon and saw this object. I have lived near military bases for over a decade.I frequently see F22s and all manner of commercial and military aircraft.
Washington Cylinder
Sammamish – On September 2, 2020, Today Wednesday, Sep 02, around 3:00 PM near lake Sammamish east side of the lake, my sister and I saw a small circular object in the sky shining once in a while like a star. When we were looking at the object, it didn’t seem to move at all. What’s surprising is that when I looked up close at the video, it moves at an incredible speed all over the place. Wisconsin Lights
Milwaukee –On September 3, 2020, my son, Ethan and I (Kevin) were watching the sky for satellites. We observed the triangle formation moving slow, about 20 degrees above horizon. The center of the formation blocked out the sky behind it. We both saw it block out a star that it passed in front of. The 3 points were made of white points of light, with the lights not blinking at all. The duration of our sighting lasted around 75 seconds.

Petrie Brisbane Queensland— Two objects were noted later on 2 different photos from the same area on the same day. they could have been the same object that had moved. Sighted on June 12, 2020.

Oshawa, Ontario — On July 26, 2020 while outside on my deck I thought to share a remarkable footage of a spherical white UFO. I noticed this fast moving bright white ‘spherical ‘ object. I grabbed my camera at full 30 X zoom it was half a mile south at about 500 feet altitude. The object was heading southeast towards the lake. There has been a notable increase in UFO daylight sightings since 2017.

Bajo Boquete–We live in a mountain area near Baru Volcano and went outside and my boyfriend was on his phone then I decided to go outside too and noticed the bright/huge light behind him (red and yellow color) with circles around/inside it. It was huge and slowly descended to the ground about 500 feet away. We lost sight of the object as it descended and went into a hole in the mountain on August 18, 2018..
United Kingdom/England Triangles
Newton Abbot Devon – On August 26, 2020, I was in the back garden pulling up weeds s when I had a strange feeling like I was being watched. I immediately looked up at an object directly above me. I could not identify it as being any type of known conventional aircraft. I had my Nikon P900 camera right next to me so I quickly took a photograph. The object then seemed to react to me photographing it and moved off in to a thick bank of clouds where I lost sight of it. Then as I looked around the sky I spotted two more black and triangular UFOs. I quickly took a photograph of them which was almost impossible due to their extreme rate of speed. The sighting was at 1:53 PM on August 26, 2020.and very unusual to see three separate UFOs.

Salem Nuclear Power Plant Possible UFO Crash

Lower Alloways Creek Township, New Jersey on Sunday, April 21. 1991, at 10:18 p.m., three women reported seeing something that looked like a helicopter crash in Salem County, NJ, not far from the Salem Nuclear Plant.
Mrs. H, 38, said she was in her bathroom at 10:22 p.m. Sunday night, April 21, when she saw what she thought was a helicopter in distress. She looked out the window and in the woods could see sparks low over the woods. I called my one neighbor and she said she saw the flames that went to the ground.”
The neighbor was Mrs. W, 22, who saw the alleged crash and called police. “Roberta called here and asked me if I saw the helicopter and I did.” “I looked out my kitchen window facing New Bridge Road and saw sparks and it looked like it was coming toward our houses. As I kept watching, I saw fire shooting out the side of it, then a big ball of fire and it fell,” she said. “After the crash, I hung up with Roberta and called the police.” Mrs. E was also present in the home of Mrs. W and also witnessed the event. She reported she was sitting down watching TV when Mrs. W said, “Oh my God.” She came running and saw sparks, then the helicopter exploded and fell. None of the three witnesses reported hearing any sound or seeing red lights normally visible on helicopters. According to both witnesses it was raining at the time of the incident. The object was described as solid in appearance and helicopter shaped, with white and blue lights at first, with a shower of red-orange sparks, followed by a bright red flash to the ground.
Although police and rescue squads conducted an extensive air and ground search throughout the right and several hours the next day, no trace of a helicopter crash site could be found. No helicopters were subsequently reported missing. A number of unusual things about the description of the helicopter, such as the absence of sound and a burst of light shooting to the ground, suggest that the object that was observed may not have been a helicopter but a UFO.
In addition, one of the woman in the location of Salem County reported strange recurring dreams prior to the incident. The incident is being pursued as a possible abduction event, with the “helicopter crash” staged as a screen memory. Budd Hopkins was contacted about the event. It’s a possibility this represents a UFO abduction event.
In JUNE 1991 Donald A. Johnson, Ph.D. was the MUFON State Director New Jersey meeting was held February 23rd. at Assistant State D director’s Major George Filer’s home in Medford.

The ladies claim there were no red lights that are almost always lit on a helicopter.
The police log shows that Mrs. W called the police at 10:18 p.m. Police and rescue squads were on the scene immediately after she called the police. Mrs. W said she spent part of the night on the phone talking to the pilot of one of the rescue helicopters that was dispatched to the area, trying to tell him exactly where she saw the crash while he flew overhead.
The map shows the general area of the sighting; Beasleys Neck Road (location of the witnesses houses. The arrow indicates the location of the New Bridge Road where the object was firs t sighted. Assisting in the search was the Lower Alloways Creek Fire Department. Fire Chief Calvin Hill contacted the Federal Aviation Agency but learned that there were no reports of nay late or missing aircraft at any nearby airport. The Fire Chief contacted local airports in Salem and in Wilmington, Delaware, which did not report any missing aircraft. There was no information from FAA flight logs that would have suggested that an aircraft was flying over the area at the time of the crash.
The incident was also reported on the late night news by Channel 3 news, a Philadelphia TV station. Michael Talpas of Roebling. NJ. Videotaped the TV coverage. The search began at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in a wooded area near Beasley Neck Road. A nearby neighbor, Scott A. George of Cross Roach told police he thought he heard a crash, but “just assumed it was a gust of wind. Police took two callers reports seriously and are not looking into the possibility of a false report. “No, I don’t feel it was a prank call” a police spokesman said. “We received calls from two different people. They were both reputable adults and I don’t have any reservations about what they said.” The police spokesman speculated that because the area was so densely wooded a helicopter could have disappeared from view.
However, MUFON investigator, Richard Butler after visiting the homes of the witnesses, disagrees with the characterization of the area as densely wooded. He disputes the notion that a crashed helicopter would be difficult to find in the area. Three rescue helicopters combed the rain swept area along the Delaware River Sunday night and Monday morning while Coast Guard boats searched the water and up stream. There is a report that the Coast Guard covered the crash debris with at least two large black tarps in a marshland area near a creek.
The Delaware River is approximately 5 miles away from the homes of the witnesses. State Police with the Trenton Station said a helicopter using an infrared scope searched the coastal region using grids but came up empty. Rescuers called off the search at 3:30 a.m. Monday, having found no trace of a crash, but resumed the search again at 8:00 a.m., the search officially ended at approximately 10:15 a.m.
On Monday, Lower Alloways Creek Township Police Chief Eric Peterson, said that at about 2 p.m. Monday he received a call from a woman in Deptford Township who said she saw the same thing.
MUFON investigator Michael Talpas who talked to the police was told at least two other people who were driving in their cars called in to report sighting the “helicopter fire” .While some have speculated that a possible meteor might have fallen in the area, police are not speculating. Both Mrs. W and Mrs. E estimated the event lasted 3 minutes, but here is no check on the accuracy of their estimates. It would have to be long enough for Mrs. L to walk to the phone, call her neighbor, have her look for it, and spot it in the sky before it “crashed”.
One of the younger women (Mrs. W) reported an illusional dream on the Friday night preceding the Sunday event. From Monday through Thursday she reported waking up excited, nervous, and anxious. That Friday night she and her husband were out late at a party.
Gray Alien Mongoose
They returned home to be around 4:15 a.m. she dreamed walking out of the house to a half-wooded area, where she encountered 3-4 “giant hamster cages”, with bright red and orange twist-tie s on the bars of the cages, Out of the bottom of the cages were gray and white “mongooses”, who walked erect., when s They walked in-step in coordinated movement, and began chasing her around. There were also two large snakes in her dream, and she felt she was protecting the snakes from the mongooses.
She reports that she had never really seen a mongoose, and didn’t know what they looked like. Investigator Richard Butler regards the dream as a screen memory of an actual abduction experience with the giant hamster cages actually being UFOs (with lights around the rims), and the “mongooses” with the peculiar albino coloring actually gray humanoids. It’s all interesting speculation at this point, but she has agreed to explore the dream further, presumably through hypnosis.
Weather reports obtained by Commercial Pilot Bob Durant from Philadelphia International Airport has shown that the cloud layer at the time was scattered clouds between 11 00′ – 1200′, and overcast clouds at 2000 feet’. A light rain was falling at the time. This makes a meteor explanation very unlikely. There are no power lines in the vicinity, according to maps and on-sit

Editor’s Note‘’ Through the years MUFON has received numerous reports of lights and UFOs in the area. A typical report was made by a pastor who spotted a UFO appearing to take electrical power by hovering a few feet above the power lines with a blue electrical arc between them.
United Launch Alliance and SpaceX will continue in the Space Force’s National Security Space Launch program. Challengers Northrop Grumman and Blue Origin were left to hope for future military launch wins in subsequent competitions. ULA will provide the rockets for 60 percent of Space Force launch missions through 2024, while SpaceX will handle the other 40 percent. Together, they will support up to 34 Space Force and National Reconnaissance Office launches over the next few years.
Establishment of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force
On Aug. 4, 2020, Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist approved the establishment of an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force (UAPTF). The Department of the Navy, under the cognizance of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, will lead the UAPTF.
The Department of Defense established the UAPTF to improve its understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAPs. The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.
As DOD has stated previously, the safety of our personnel and the security of our operations are of paramount concern. The Department of Defense and the military departments take any incursions by unauthorized aircraft into our training ranges or designated airspace very seriously and examine each report. This includes examinations of incursions that are initially reported as UAP when the observer cannot immediately identify what he or she is observing.
Supernatural Is neither Fantasy nor Fiction
The supernatural is neither fantasy nor fiction but a vital and authentic aspect of life, according to famed experiencer Whitley Strieber and professor of religion at Rice University Dr. Jeffrey Kripal. Both men joined George Knapp for a discussion which argued that all kinds of “impossible” things, from extra-dimensional beings to bumps in the night, are not impossible at all. Strieber began with a discussion of the so-called UFO “meta materials,” which he said did not necessarily come from another world, but that we just “can’t make [manufacture] it yet.” Kripal added that the recent revelations about these materials have “really changed the conversation in the public square” about UFOs. Kripal pointed out that there is a history in religious literature of objects (such as clothing or other items) that are supposed to give the faithful a direct connection with the Divine, and that these supposed materials are quite similar in function for us.
Strieber said he believes that most information about this subject is so secret that it has not been written down because those who deal with it want no records that can be traced. Kripal said he remains “skeptical about the notion of disclosure,” and that he doesn’t believe that anyone “in the military of the government has the capacity or the means to know the truth.” Both guests discussed various incidents that occurred when Strieber’s wife Anne passed away in 2015. Strieber recalled a series of phone calls from close friends who told him that Anne had asked them to call and report that she was OK. Kripal described an incident when they were sharing a cabin at a conference where he woke in the middle of the night and perceived an “indirect experience with something that Whitley experienced directly.” He also said that many scientists and academics are “in the closet on this,” but are becoming more open to the UFO issue.
The last two hours, Strieber talked about his newest book on the Visitors, and his and others’ experiences with them, as well as other strange experiences that have happened to him over the past decades.
Jetliners Encounter UFOs Over New Jersey
On Monday night, ham radio operator John N. Gonzalez, N2IXW, picked up a UFO report while listening to radio traffic on the air. According to, Gonzalez he heard the conversation between the tower at Newark, N.J. airport and Flight 262 on 118.300 MHz on November 17, 1997Two other unidentified air crews also joined in the conversation.

JET #2: “Watch out! The two (UFOs) are coming up to you.”
FLIGHT 262: “Well, Captain, the two up here are coming down to meet with you.”
TOWER: “Flight 262, what is your status?”
FLIGHT 262: “We have 236 souls onboard and fifty thousand (pounds) of fuel. I think these damn things are going to hit us. We are over Morristown just in case there is a collision with them. (Pause) They have taken off towards the northeast. And, by the way, towards the northeast, it also looks like a meteor or space debris is coming down.”

TOWER: “Do you wish to report a UFO sighting?”
FLIGHT 262: (Pause) No, we have nothing to report.”
JET #2: “We heard you. I am making sure the passengers are all right. And, no, I have nothing to report, either.”
JET#3: “You guys have seen more than your share of UFOs. I know I have.”
TOWER: “Who are you? Please identify yourself.” (There was no response) “Flight 262, go to the emergency frequency. We will meet with the both of you there.”

Triangle Objects Photographed
In March of 2014, a group of aviation enthusiasts spotted three triangle-shaped aircraft over Amarillo, Texas, that they called a “flying Dorito.” They argue that the back of the aircraft was flat and not jagged like a B-2 Stealth Bomber. In February of 2014, an amateur photographer in Kansas also saw and took photos of a triangular aircraft.
Possible TR-3 or alien craft
YouTube conspiracy theorists Blake and Brett Cousins of third phase of moon shared a video of the alleged UFO, who claims they were sent video and photos of the unexplained UFO. The UFO conspiracy theorists allege that the images are of the TR-3B, a long-rumored top-secret United States Air Force spy plane. The TR-3 Black Manta is allegedly a surveillance plane that is believed to have been developed for the USAF as part of a black project.
The narrators of the video suggest that the aircraft was heading towards the Columbia River. One witness said that the aircraft did not make a sound.
Two of the most lucrative crimes are selling drugs and body parts. Large amounts of money are given to politicians who protect Mexican drug dealers in sanctuary cities and those who protect Planned Parenthood who sell body parts. Apparently 71,999 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2019. If you check with the local police in many of the cities you’ll find they are told to leave the key drug dealers alone, if a dealer is arrested they are usually let go quickly before ICE can return them to their country of immigration. Sanctuary city refers to municipal jurisdictions, typically in the Northern United States that limits their cooperation with the government’s effort to enforce immigration.
Planned Parenthood recently admitted in court they sell the body parts of babies. In a video released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), Planned Parenthood and abortion industry officials gave sworn testimony describing how babies born alive with beating hearts in their facilities are then harvested for organs. Planned Parenthood claims there are one million three hundred thousand abortions each year and most Clinics remain open during the virus.
Kamala Harris receives large contributions from Planned Parenthood as the liberal former California Attorney General and a Senator. In her acceptance speech she stated she advocates Pro Choice for all women More than two dozen U.S. senators asked the Justice Department Friday to expand its investigation into Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s (PPFA) fetal tissue practices of selling babies’ body parts., the latest effort to push the DOJ about an investigation it has mostly kept under wraps since 2017.
August 11, 2020, the preliminary hearing for undercover journalist David Daleiden began Tuesday in California with Planned Parenthood admitting that it harvested aborted babies’ body parts and supplied them to human tissue procurement companies,. On July 16, 2020, the tapes showed senior Planned Parenthood officials talking about selling aborted babies’ body parts for huge profits and how they were talking about buying very expensive s cars.
Daleiden and Sandra Merritt face 15 felony charges for invasion of privacy of Planned Parenthood because they exposed the abortion chain’s gruesome baby body parts trade sometimes after the baby was born. Tuesday began a nine-day preliminary hearing about whether the case should go to trial, Courthouse News reports.
” Merritt’s attorney Nicolaie Cocis told the news outlet. “What today has revealed is the prosecution by the attorney general is political in nature and built on a house of cards.”
Daleiden’s and Merritt’s lawyers believe their prosecution is politically motivated by politicians like California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and Kamala Harris , who received huge campaign donations from the abortion industry No other journalists have been prosecuted for similar videos.
Five years ago the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released undercover videos that revealed evidence of criminal activity by America’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood. The tapes showed senior Planned Parenthood officials talking about selling aborted babies’ body parts for profit and how Planned Parenthood manipulated its abortion techniques to procure fresh, intact organs from children killed in late-term abortions. In a separate conversation,
Dr. Mary Gatter, Planned Parenthood’s Medical Directors’ Council President haggled over the price of baby body parts, saying, “I want a Lamborghini.”
These videos generated massive outrage from pro-life and pro-choice Americans alike.
