Scientist Warns: Contact With Aliens Is A “Terrible Idea”
The famous theoretical physicist Michio Kaku warns mankind against attempts to establish contact with extraterrestrial civilizations, which are millions of years ahead of us in technical development.
A scientist considers it a “terrible idea” to contact aliens, and we cannot afford to take such risks.
Michio Kaku is Professor of Physics at the City College and City University of New York. He considers it unlikely that alien civilizations have previously visited Earth, but we must understand that there are civilizations that are millions of years ahead of us in technical development.
As an example, the scientist refers to the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. The difference in technical development was very significant. For the same reason, it is not desirable for people to come into contact with highly developed civilizations.
However, if this happens, which is inevitable, then it must be done very carefully, even if the aliens behave towards us friendly.
According to Michio Kaku, each time humanity has more and more opportunities to establish contact. This is largely facilitated by new orbiting telescopes capable of penetrating deep into the Universe and seeing more stars and planets.
Despite thousands of possible UFO sightings over the years, Dr. Kaku is confident that alien civilizations have not visited Earth in the past.
The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence Of Extraterrestrial Intervention
The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence Of Extraterrestrial Intervention
The Allagash Abduction is a purported UFO sighting and alien abduction that is alleged to have occurred in 1976.
The witnesses said the incident started on August 20, 1976, when four men, all in their early-twenties, ventured on a camping trip into the wilderness near Allagash, Maine. The group consisted of twin brothers Jack and Jim Weiner, their friend Charlie Foltz, and their guide, Chuck Rak.
They say their first day went by without incident. However, on their second night, they noticed a bright light not far from their campsite which they first passed off as being a helicopter or weather balloon, but later noticed it displayed a strange quality of light.
Suddenly, the object imploded and disappeared. The following day went by without incident, as the first. The men were unlucky in their fishing so they decided to try it at night.
They set camp on the shore of Eagle Lake on August 20. As darkness settled, the men built a blazing campfire which they expected to burn for several hours to be used as a beacon for their campsite while out on the lake. They then headed out in a canoe.
Jack and Jim Weiner, Charlie Foltz, and Chuck Rak.
After a short time, Rak noticed the bright light they had seen two nights before in the distance above the tree line. He called the others’ attention to it. They watched the object intently and noticed it appeared to be much larger this time and made no sound. Foltz grabbed a flashlight and began flashing an SOS.
Suddenly, a bright beam of light shot out from the bottom of the craft and it quickly made its way towards the men. All men, minus Rak, began to paddle furiously back towards shore. Rak seemed entranced by the object as it closed in on them. Suddenly, the light enveloped the canoe and the four men.
The next thing the men knew, they were back on shore at their campsite. They stood at the edge of the water and stared blankly at the craft, which was hovering no more than a few dozen feet from them. After watching for several minutes, the craft suddenly imploded, as it had done two nights previous, and reappeared over the treetops on the other side of the lake. It then shot upwards into the sky.
The men suddenly all felt exhausted and decided to sleep for the night. The large fire they had made only minutes previous was now a pile of burnt embers. Without much conversation following the unusual incident which just took place, the men went to sleep. The next morning, the men spoke little of the incident and packed their belongings to move to a new campsite.
Jack Weiner was the first to start having nightmares. In these dreams, he saw beings with long necks and large heads. He saw the beings examining his arm while Jim, Chuck, and Charlie sat on a nearby bench, not able to intervene.
The beings had large metallic glowing eyes with no lids, and their hands were insect-like, with four fingers. The other three men were experiencing very similar dreams, with short, mental clips of that night on the lake. In 1988, out of curiosity, Jim Weiner attended a UFO conference hosted by Raymond Fowler.
Weiner met Fowler afterwards and related his strange encounter. The investigator was excited about Jim’s story, especially the fact that it was a multiple witness occurrence. Fowler suggested to Jim that he and the others undergo regressive hypnosis.
After the sessions it was revealed that all four of the men had memories of being abducted and subjected to humiliating physical examinations, including the taking of skin and fluid samples.
The description of the aliens was consistent. The four men – being artists – were able to make detailed sketches of the entities, the craft, and the examining instruments. Chuck Rak added that the aliens’ test area was similar to a vet’s office, with a silvery table.
He also related a strange fact: he had much difficulty in focusing on the aliens. When he tried, he could not put an exact image to them. He compared it to trying to tune in a fuzzy radio station.
After the psychiatric examinations, all four of the men were deemed to be mentally stable, and they all passed lie-detector tests.
Just a few weeks after it was revealed that U.S. Navy warships off the coast of Los Angeles were followed by UFOs on two consecutive days in 2019, and just days after its top admiral admitted publicly that neither he nor the Navy know what they are, an investigative filmmaker experienced in UFO research revealed and released “two unclassified slides and some of the most intriguing military captured UAP footage I have ever seen.” Yes – photos and videos of the UFOs the Navy can’t identify. Is this the smoking video? Can you help identify them?
“I obtained the materials quite some time ago in an anonymous data drop. Included was detailed written context to accompany each item. My challenge was in activating my network in an attempt to validate or disprove some of the claims and details provided. This is done both through mining the materials themselves for revealing metadata – as well as – finding those who would have knowledge of the events described or who are confirmed to be in a position to have direct awareness of the items I obtained. This took time – seemed ages to me – but it paid-off. George Knapp and I were able to verify the materials you are about to consider. I can confirm their authenticity – as well as – the narrative supplied to me when they were presented.”
Kudos to filmmaker Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell and George Knapp at Mystery Wire for the work they’ve done to bring these astounding photos and video to the public. (View and watch them here.) Briefly, The Drive (kudos have already been delivered to them) revealed that at least one and possibly as many as five other warships encountered mysterious long-flying UAVs off the coast of Los Angeles in 2019 using more sophisticated equipment than was available in 2004 during the famous Nimitz encounter on the east coast. In a speech at a Defense Writers Group event in Washington this week, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday, the U.S. Navy’s top officer, said the UAVs/UFOs have not been identified. This is especially shocking when taken with Corbell’s revelation that the materials he released came from a classified briefing on the incidents held on May 1st 2020, and that since then they’ve been distributed to “a wide range of intelligence networking platforms (such as SIPRNet, JWICS and various Intelink systems).” Do they not know anything or are they not saying anything?
“This intelligence briefing contains an estimated 10 videos (FLIR and HUD) and about 10-12 photos documenting some of these UAPs.”
On his website, Corbell describes the small subset of the videos and photos he was given. (Take a look again.) The video and some of the photos of a “pyramid” craft were taken by crew members on the USS Russell. The image of the spherical craft (another Tic Tac?) was taken from the USS Omaha, whose crew watched it “descending into the water without destruction” – a search by submarine found nothing in the spot. Three photos (revealed earlier by Mystery Wire — see them here) taken on the same cell phone by a Weapons Systems Operator show three different crafts taken on one F-18 sorti.

“Collectively, this data drop represents a small section within a large mosaic of UAP awareness by our DoD. And its presence in a classified series of intelligence briefings – clearly demonstrates how the UAP subject is being viewed, pursued and handled by the United States defense industry.”
Hope you were seated when you read Corbell’s conclusion. It’s clear that something is pursuing U.S. Navy vessels and the Navy and DoD don’t know what they are or know but don’t want to reveal it to the public. In a Mystery Wire podcast, Corbell admits he can’t explain them. However, he sees this as a significant event.
“It is my hope that these materials will be representative of a unique moment in modern history; a possible turning point towards the rational and transparent approach of investigating and exploring the mystery of the UFO Phenomenon.”
Can you identify any of the UAVs? Will their true identity ever be known? Will it ever be released? Is this truly a turn towards UFO transparency?
Again, kudos to Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell and George Knapp.
Archaeologists unearthed a 3,000-year-old “lost golden city” in Egypt. Located on the western bank of the city of Luxor, the recently discovered lost city has been described as being the most significant Egyptian find since King Tut’s tomb was found.
The lost city, which is called Aten, was actually found by accident as archaeologists were excavating a site between the temples of Kings Ramses III and Amenhotep III in hopes of finding the mortuary temple of King Tut when they instead found remnants of an ancient city.
In a statement provided by the Egyptian mission, they explained how the city was discovered, “Within weeks, to the team’s great surprise, formations of mud bricks began to appear in all directions.” “What they unearthed was the site of a large city in a good condition of preservation, with almost complete walls, and with rooms filled with tools of daily life.” “The archaeological layers have [lain] untouched for thousands of years, left by the ancient residents as if it were yesterday.” In fact, some of the houses have walls that measure almost 10 feet tall.
Temple of King Amenhotep III
In addition to the houses, archaeologists discovered a bakery with a big kitchen that still had ovens and pottery. A workshop was unearthed with casting molds that would have been used for ornament and amulet production (perhaps for tombs and/or temples). They also uncovered a residential and administrative area that was fenced in with only one entrance/exit, leading experts to believe that it was used as a security measure.
As for the industrial areas, numerous tools used for weaving or spinning were found as well as glassmaking and metal leftovers. One of the most interesting items found was a vessel (it held two gallons of dried or boiled meat) with an inscription that read, “Year 37, dressed meat for the third Heb Sed festival from the slaughterhouse of the stockyard of Kha, made by the butcher luwy.”
A large cemetery and several tombs made from rocks were found. The graves of two cows or bulls were oddly discovered in a room in addition to a person who had his arms down to his sides and a rope tied around his knees. According to the statement, work is being conducted on the tombs and perhaps they’ll even find treasure in them.
Zahi Hawass, who is an Egyptian archaeologist and former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs and led the mission, noted how significant this discovery was, “Many foreign missions searched for this city and never found it.”
The lost city is the most significant Egyptian find since King Tut’s tomb was discovered.
It is believed that the city was founded by King Amenhotep III (the ninth king of Egypt’s 18th dynasty) who ruled the country between the years 1391 and 1352 BC. It was then later used by King Tut, followed by King Ay.
The archaeologists were able to date the city around 3,000 years old based on hieroglyphic inscriptions that were discovered on wine vessels, pottery, scarabs, rings, and mud bricks that contained seals with King Amenhotep III’s cartouche.
Additional excavations should reveal much more about this ancient “lost golden city”. (Pictures of the city and some of the items found can be seen here.)
“Bacteriological Warfare in the United States” is a fascinating FBI document that was declassified into the public domain in 2006, via the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. It covers the years 1941 to 1950. Notably, of the file’s original 1,783 pages, no less than 1,074 were firmly withheld from declassification by the FBI (since 2006, however, more of those pages have surfaced). The file reveals a wealth of illuminating and disturbing data on animal disease and death, and their potential, theoretical links to bacteriological warfare and sabotage by enemy nations and individuals. In a strange and winding way, the story the file tells has a bearing on the theme of this book. Much of the dossier is focused on a series of mysterious and suspicious outbreaks of disease – and attendant death – in Lincoln County, New Mexico in the 1940s, which is the very same county where the Roswell event occurredin early July 1947. Not only that, as will soon become clear, there is even a Japanese balloon link to the Lincoln County outbreak.
In late 1950, the New Mexico State Public Health Laboratory sent a memo to the FBI which read as follows: “Possibly some of you saw headlines in newspapers published in the States during August, such as ‘Black Death Stirs Albuquerque,’ ‘Black Plague Hits Two in New Mexico,’ and ‘Dark Age Plague Found in Two.’ It is unfortunate that we must still seriously discuss plague, for we already know so much about its cause and mode of spread; but as long as such headlines do occur, it is necessary that we who are interested in Public Health and Preventive Medicine do seriously consider plague and acquaint ourselves with the plague of today, its prevalence, and its potentialities.”
Nick Redfern
The FBI was particularly worried about the New Mexico outbreaks and recorded the following: “The New Mexico Public Health Authority has been on the alert for cases of plague since 1938 when the U.S. Public Health Service first reported plague in the wild rodents of one of our counties. There was no suggestion of human infection until August 1, 1949, when the Laboratory received a request for aid in the diagnosis of two cases. A slide made from material aspirated from an axillary bubo [swelling of the lymph nodes] of a ten-year-old boy of Taos County was first received. Late on August 1, 1949, the pathologist at the Veteran’s Hospital in Albuquerque called stating that a man from Placitas, Sandoval County, had been admitted to the hospital and his clinical symptoms resembled plague. The cases were from areas 200 miles apart with no connection. The little boy of Taos probably received his infection from a bit of a flea escaped from the body of a prairie dog which he killed by throwing a stone. The man from Sandoval probably received his infection from fleas from ground squirrels that he had killed while working on his farm.
“These two New Mexico cases of human plague are good examples of what might be expected considering the reservoir of plague infection in the wild rodents of the western states. Very possibly there are undiagnosed human cases in New Mexico and other states with widely scattered population.” A further document from this particular collection of formerly classified papers provides this: “Since this report was written, a 7 ½ year-old-boy in Lincoln County died, possibly of plague. The boy was taken to a physician at Fort Stanton, November 4. Apparently he was not in a very serious condition and was sent home. He was returned to the Fort Stanton Hospital November 5 in the morning; his temperature was somewhat higher; by noon he was markedly worse, and by 2:30 he was dead. A post mortem examination was made and the doctor in charge diagnosed the case as being bubonic plague with pneumonic and septicemic complications. Portions of the organs were sent to [name deleted] at the Western Communicable Disease Laboratory in San Francisco; and he confirmed the child was probably infected by ectoparasites from tree squirrels. A clear history could not be obtained, but dead tree squirrels were found in the barn and near the dwelling of this child.”
As a result of all this disturbing activity, the FBI turned its attention towards securing as many newspaper articles as possible that had been published on the subject of plague and other, potentially fatal, conditions in New Mexico. There was, for example, “Lea Rabbits Suspected Bubonic Plague Carriers,” which appeared in the pages of the Albuquerque Journal on June 21, 1950. Now, we come to an even more eye-opening series of revelations on this issue. So concerned was the FBI by these various outbreaks of plague in New Mexico in 1949, J. Edgar Hoover took secret steps to share all of the pertinent medical data – and media articles, too – with a fistful of agencies of the government and the military. They included the U.S. Air Force’s Director of Special Investigations, the Director of Naval Intelligence, the Acting Director of the Division of Security of the Atomic Energy Commission, and the Director of the CIA. The most important point of all will now be revealed. It demonstrates precisely why a wide and varied body of intelligence agencies were carefully, and secretly, monitoring this situation.
Polyethylene hot air balloon
Additional files on this issue surfaced after the FBI’s release of material in 2006; this time, from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. There was a school of thought within certain factions of the AFOSI that while the plague deaths very likely resulted from flea bites and attacks by infected animals, the plague itself may have been deliberately released in Lincoln County, New Mexico, by nothing less than…a Japanese balloon. Probably in 1945, it was surmised – which was when the Fugo raids were at their height. The theory was that due to the small, isolated, human populations in some of the areas where plague broke out, it may have taken several years before the plague took hold in the animal population and then jumped to people – and also a couple of years for the wreckage to be found in the massive wilds of New Mexico. The shared, secret files also reveal that some authorities believed – years later and with the benefit of hindsight – that the initial outbreak in Lincoln County was caused by the Hantavirus, which was first acknowledged by the West in the early 1950s and at the height of the Korean War.
Of greatest importance, however, is a document titled “Japanese Balloon Raids – 1945” which was found in the archives of what, in the 1940s, was called Camp Detrick. Today, it goes by the name of Fort Detrick. Located in Maryland, the facility is at the forefront of research into bacteriological warfare, chemical warfare, and lethal viruses. The document postulates that in 1945 a Japanese Fugo balloon came down somewhere in Lincoln County and unleashed a deadly cargo of plague-infected insects – such as fleas – and which eventually took hold, leading to the unfortunate death of the young boy at Fort Stanton, four years later.
Now, we come to another aspect of the Fort Stanton connection. Moving into the 1970s and the 1980s, we have intriguing information from John A. Price, of the Roswell-based UFO Enigma Museum, and the author of a 1997 non-fiction book, Roswell: A Quest for the Truth. On one particular day in 1978, Price – who was employed as a roofer at the time – was working outside on a particular property in Hagerman. It’s a town situated approximately twenty-four miles from Roswell. The property held a number of physically handicapped children – this much was clear to Price, as several such children exited the property and stood on the patio, watching him as he worked. He thought, “this must be a home for the mentally impaired.” That was not all, however. Price had more to say: “Suddenly, I almost choked on my coffee as two more children, or at least I think they were children, walked out and stood behind the others.” According to Price, they were all around four- to four-and-a-half-feet in height. They had oversized, hairless heads, and their ears and noses were noticeably smaller than normal for a young child. Things came to a sudden end when, Price recalls, “a lady came to the door and ushered the kids back into the house.” He did not see them again.
More than a decade later, Price received a letter from “an acquaintance” who he had known for some time. Price said: ““In the letter he told me that the aliens I was looking for were at Fort Stanton.” For those who may not know, Fort Stanton is a facility that, during the Second World War, held a number of Japanese “enemy aliens” (as they were termed) and is barely spitting distance away from the Foster Ranch. As this, and the data in my 2017 book, The Roswell UFO Conspiracy, shows, there is a complicated connection between all of these issues: handicapped people; secret, high-altitude balloons; and top secret post-Second Wold War programs to bring German and Japanese personnel into the USA. A grim story is getting even more so.

Location of sighting: Porter, Texas, USA

Now this just came in my email this week. A persons door cam caught something odd back in 2019. The guy walks outside and then suddenly he shoots up and away. This should not be possible, however there are two possibilities. First, the man was abducted by a UFO as he existed the house and it beamed him up. Or second, he himself is an alien.
Throughout history there have been stories handed down thorough the ages about gods and mortals creating children on earth. Well...they were not gods, but aliens with god like powers. This persons in the video...he is such an alien.
Scott C. Waring - Taiwan
Eyewitness states:
This morning, my fiance and I were looking through our videos recorded by Ring and we found a weird glitch. She said, "Look Ring had you abducted by aliens or you just been part of the rapture! Either way, it was really funny!

The US Navy filmed “PYRAMID” shaped UFOs; here is that footage
In 2019 the US Navy photographed and filmed “PYRAMID” shaped UFOs and "SPHERICAL" advanced transmedium vehicles; here is that footage. This is only part of the story and visual evidence pertaining to UFO / UAP incursions by Unknown Advanced Transmedium Vehicles (UATVs) - engaging our US Navy warships.
Background:
On May 1st 2020 a classified briefing was generated about the UFO / UAP presence, via the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). Those familiar with the briefing articulated to me that the goal was to de-stigmatize the UAP problem and to promote more intelligence collection regarding UAP incursions and encounters with active military deployments. This UAP briefing was a build-on to a previous ONI briefing, generated October 18th 2019. Both were distributed across a wide range of intelligence network platforms.
Jeremy Corbell was able to obtain information regarding these and other UAP related briefings - as well as - unclassified slides and some of the most intriguing military captured UAP footage he has ever seen.
The context surrounding this content is important to understand - as its evidentiary value is best demonstrated though the lens of provenance.
I want you to understand why this new evidence is worth your full attention and ask yourself whether these UAPs are made on earth and piloted and controlled by humans or not.

Disappearing Planes, Bases In The Mountains And The Black Pyramid – Is There Any Truth In The Alaskan Triangle?
Disappearing Planes, Bases In The Mountains And The Black Pyramid – Is There Any Truth In The Alaskan Triangle?
The forty-ninth state of the United States, Alaska, features some of the most beautiful, yet deadly and unremorseful terrain and geology on the planet. It is also host to many strange tales of unusual phenomena, UFO sightings, and numerous disappearances – not only of people but in some cases of entire planes as well as the people on board them.
Is there a Black Pyramid buried beneath Alaska?
Forty-four people were on board the Douglas C-54-D US military passenger plane as it seemingly vanished into thin air, for example. The incident happened during its journey from Alaska to Texas on 26th January 1950. No wreckage or survivors were ever found. The last known communication with the plane had come while they were over the Yukon village of Snag in Canada. Shortly after, the sizeable aircraft just simply disappeared.
A search mission was launched, with both the American and Canadian Airforces contributing to the effort. The weather conditions were hazardous in themselves, and two planes crashed in the search for the C-54. On 20th February, after three and a half weeks of trying to locate any sign of the plane or the passengers, the search was called off.
There have been many theories as to what happened that evening. Some state that the pilot may have been forced to land due to the bad weather, and given the inhospitable terrain they would have been flying over, the only place perhaps to have done this was on an iced-over lake. It is thought if the people on board perished due to the elements, once the spring arrived, the ice would have melted and the plane would have vanished to the bottom of the water.
The Strange Disappearance Of Hale Boggs
Over two decades later, another strange plane disappearance captivated much of North America. In October 1972, Democratic congressman, Hale Boggs, appeared to vanish from the face of the Earth while being flown in a small plane over Alaska. Despite a huge rescue effort, the plane and its four passengers (including Boggs) have never been found.
Over the years, there have been numerous conspiracy theories surrounding his disappearance and assumed death, not least of which due to his connections to the 'Warren Commission' and the investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963.
At the time of his death, Boggs was said to be putting pressure on whomever he could to have the investigation into President Kennedy’s death reopened. However, in 2004, his daughter, Cokie Roberts, denied this was the case during a radio interview, and that her father had no issue with the findings of the commission. This perhaps only added to the grim mystery.
Hale Boggs disappeared in 1972
There is information in the form of since-released FBI files that state a tip-off was given to them in the days following the incident. A man, who the FBI allegedly found very credible, stated that he knew where the crash site was. Although the FBI didn’t follow up this lead, at least publicly, the phone number where the mystery man rang from was contained in the files and subsequently traced to a Pro-life organization, named “Right To Life”. One of the people connected to this organization was also close to President Richard Nixon. Coincidence? Very probably, but it certainly adds yet another dimension to the whole affair. You can read in a little more details about the Boggs disappearance here.
Others, however, state the answer to what happened is more akin to theories about planes that have vanished in the Bermuda Triangle. There is a supposed vortex created by the relatively unusual magnetic fields present in the area, and it is this that caused the plane to vanish. The area where the plane last communicated from is said to be in what some refer to as the Alaskan Triangle.
It isn’t just planes that are said to go missing over the Alaskan Triangle – sometimes referred to as the Alaskan Bermuda Triangle. According to some reports, over 16,000 people have gone missing there since 1988 – both tourists and locals alike.
The Alaskan Triangle is said to run from a point in the upper north of Alaska, Barrow, right the way down to the capital, Juneau (which on its takes in the south-west of the Yukon), and then to the west at Anchorage.
The alleged Alaskan Triangle
The native Tlingit tribe, who inhabit the area close to Juneau, firmly believe that an evil spirit roams this area, who they call, Kushtaka. This spirit, or demon, is able to “shapeshift” and is said to kidnap those who become lost or venture too deep into the wilderness and takes them to his realm.
Others believe that there are unusual electromagnetic anomalies in the area that cause equally unusual phenomena. Theories range from this phenomenon causing hallucinations and disorientation in people to much more fringe theories that the unusual release of energy sometimes creates a vortex or stargate to another world or dimension.
More mainstream theories as to these all too real disappearances suggest that the area itself is some of the harshest and most remote parts of the planet. Should a person become lost or even injured here, they become a “needle in a haystack” as far as rescue efforts go, and an easy target for the elements, various dangerous animals native to the area or the geology of the terrain itself.
There have also been numerous UFO sightings throughout Alaska. Perhaps the most famous occurred in 1986.

The Japan Air Lines Flight 1628 Incident
While flying over north-eastern Alaska, on its way to Paris from Tokyo, the flight crew of Japan Air Lines Flight 1628, were witness to an event that would change their lives.
Just after 5 pm, Captain Kenju Terauchi, who was an experienced pilot, noticed two strange brightly lit craft below and to the left of the plane. As the cold war was still in full swing, and due to Alaska’s close proximity to the Soviet Union, Terauchi assumed these to be US military planes, who regularly patrolled the Alaskan skies. However, he soon came to the realization that the crafts were following him.
Several minutes later, the craft suddenly appeared dead in front of Flight 1628. Their light shone so brightly in the cockpit of the plane that Terauchi claimed he could feel their warmth on his face. Communications from the plane to the control tower on the ground were also affected periodically, becoming scrambled with interference, and despite the object flying steadily in front of the plane, radar operators could not see anything on their systems.
Then, as quickly as the objects had appeared in front of the plane, they moved back to the left of it. However, now the crew could see a much larger craft. Terauchi at first described it as a “flat pale white light” – but soon realized that he was looking at a “mothership” that he described as being as large as two aircraft carriers.
By the time Air Traffic Control aircraft had launched two planes to investigate the claims from Terauchi, the objects had disappeared.
Unlike many airline pilots who avoid reporting such experiences, Terauchi was eager to do so. So much so that when he did speak to the press, Japan Air Lines removed him from pilot duty and instead gave him a desk job. The official findings of the inquiry into the sightings were released the following year and stated that although the airline firmly believed the pilot’s descriptions of what they saw, there was not enough proof to “support” their version of events.
Check out the short videos below regarding the incident and you can read about this incident in a lot more detail here.
Alien Bases In The Mountains
The JAL Flight 1628 incident is just one of many alleged sightings in the region, and some people believe they know why the area is such a “hot-bed” of such activity. According to the alleged “remote viewer”, Pat Price, Mount Hayes, one of the most beautiful and arresting mountains in Alaska is, in fact, an alien base. Perhaps more chilling, if you subscribe to his theory, these aliens manipulate “thought transfer for motor control of us!”
They are apparently very human looking, although there are minor differences in their genetic makeup such as their heart and lungs, as well as their eyes. While many dismiss Price’s claims as pure nonsense, there are at least some circumstantial facts that lend a little credibility to at least the possibility of his claims being correct.
There have been numerous sudden faults reported from aircraft pilots flying over Mount Hayes. Recently declassified FBI reports also tell of how the government was carrying out very real and genuine investigations around the area, and Alaska as a whole, in the late 1940s and 1950s.
There were several reported cases from experienced pilots and military personnel that were fully documented in the released files. It is clear that the FBI was taking the reports of UFOs in the area very seriously.
This is picture is said to be of an alien in Alaska taken in 1931 - click on the picture to read about this incident in more detail.
According to the documents, in 1947 an experienced pilot witnessed what he described as a “flying wing” near the town of Bethel. Perhaps interestingly the pilot stated the object appeared to be traveling to the aforementioned town of Nome.
In January 1950, the US Navy had reported to the FBI of several unidentified objects being seen in the area of Kodiak. The incident lasted for two days and it was claimed that the interference with their radars was “a type never before experienced!” The region’s apparent UFO activity was exploited somewhat in 2009, in particular, the small town of Nome. Between 1960 and 2004 twenty-four people disappeared from the small town of Nome. The FBI investigated the area and the disappearances in 2005 and came to the conclusion that they were largely the result of “excessive alcohol consumption and a harsh winter climate!"
Perhaps though, some of these theories are due to the 2009 film 'The Fourth Kind', which appeared to tap into the belief of UFO activity and alien abductions. The film promoted itself as a documentary, even putting out supposedly real news stories from the town’s past to tap into the disappearances. They were later forced to remove them from the Internet when they were proven to be untrue.
These fake stories, however, had seeded the idea in many people’s minds, and despite the evidence suggesting that the disappearances probably were more in line with the FBI’s findings in their 2005 report, many still believe the area is a hot-bed of activity for extra-terrestrial visitors. In many ways, Nome is a good example of truth meeting fiction and creating legend and myth.
Others, however, firmly believe the disappearances are the result of alien abductions. There have been UFO sightings and claims of strange lights and orbs in the area for many years. You can view the trailer of 'The Fourth Kind' below.
Ancient Alien Presence And The Black Pyramid
Maybe one of the strangest legends of Alaska came to the public arena relatively recently in 1992, when Channel 13 Anchorage reported a news story regarding an apparent discovery of a huge pyramid buried underground, about fifty miles from Mount McKinley. The story stated that three scientists, in anticipation of a nuclear test by the Chinese government, had set up seismic recording equipment around the area. By pure accident, they discovered evidence for the massive structure below them.
The piece may have gone unnoticed, but the story goes that a retired military member had watched this on television, and twenty years later in 2012, he allegedly told what he knew of the structure to experienced ufologist and expert in cattle mutilation cases, Linda Moulton Howe.
Is this the Black Pyramid?
According to Moulton Howe, the ancient pyramid is an ancient structure that was built for the purposes of generating power. It was apparently buried by the same people who built it, but it is not known who this civilization was. Following Moulton Howe’s revelations, an abundance of stories and “information” on the site from alleged whistle-blowers, flooded into her.
Bruce L. Pearson, from New Jersey, stated that a pilot had informed his father that the pyramid “was not made by man” and that it was indeed a power generator that was thousands of years old. It could generate enough power to power not only all of Alaska but most probably much of Canada also.
Another person, referred to only as “the 46-year-old adopted son of a retired Western Electric engineer” claimed that his father had told him a “dark pyramid” did exist in Alaska, and what’s more, his father had worked on a “powerful electrical system” inside it in the early 1960s.
The existence of the pyramid is assumed a hoax by most, but there are those that are still determined to investigate and find the ancient structure.
Check out the videos below for some further information on the Black Pyramid and if it is real or not.
Amazonian Mummified Parrots Discovered in the Atacama Desert
Amazonian Mummified Parrots Discovered in the Atacama Desert
Researchers have made the curious discovery of mummified parrots in the Atacama Desert in northernChile. Between 1000 and 1460 BC, parrots and macaws were transported over 300 miles to one of the driest places on Earth. One of the most remarkable questions that co-author Jośe M. Capriles and his team posed was how they transported these birds without killing them. But also, why were these parrots mummified in this way?
Unlikely Animal Transportation: The Journey to Mummified Parrots
When the parrots were captured and brought to the Atacama, insane terrain and weather posed massive issues. The birds had to travel across the Andes, with some of the peaks reaching over 10,000 feet high. Natives to the Amazon, the birds would not have been used to such cold weather.
One of the most pressing questions was how did llamas carry them? There were no horses during this time (pre-Inca), and llamas are not usually used as packing animals. Researcher Jośe M. Capriles was left puzzled. “Llamas are not the best pack animals,” wrote the researcher in the science journal PNAS. “The fact that llama caravans brought macaws and parrots across the Andes and across the desert to this oasis is amazing.”
For birds native to humidity and heat, its remarkable that these birds stayed alive, enduring travel over 300 miles (482 km) and through cold temperatures. Their survival goes to show the importance and levels of care that went into making sure these precious birds remained alive.
The discovery of mummified parrots has let researchers down an unexpected path. In the image a live scarlet macaw from the Bolivian Amazonia.

Life in the Desert for an Amazonian Parrot
After the harsh trip through the Andes, the birds were kept as pets but still lived a tough life. Wealthier society members brought the birds to produce feathers, and they would regularly be plucked out and used for different high-status ceremonies and burials. “They were kept to produce feathers and their feathers were plucked out as soon as they grew in,” explained Capriles in CNN.
With zooarchaeological analysis, radiocarbon dating, and DNA testing, the researchers determined many factors, including the bird’s diet, their species, and natural habitation in the hope, according to the PSU report, of determining how they arrived in the Atacama in the first place.
Researchers determined that the birds lived with humans based on their diet which showed that humans and the parrots were eating the same foods. “They were eating the same foods that people were eating enriched with the nitrogen from maize fertilized with marine bird manure,” explained Capriles explained to PSU.
The birds' food and diet study gave researchers insight into if the birds were alive or had died before their arrival in the Atacama. The rich marine fertilized soil that maize grew in was the critical factor in the question. So, where they alive upon arrival?
A mummified scarlet macaw parrot recovered from Pica 8 in northern Chile.
When the birds died, their bodies were mummified in unusual ways, their mouths were left open, and in some birds, their tongues were also sticking out. While some bird mummies had their wings stretched out to demonstrate their “last flight.” "We have absolutely no idea why they were mummified like this,” commented Capriles in relation to the manner in which the birds had been mummified.
The majority of the mummified parrots were found at Pica 8, an archeology site outside the community - which still exists today. Many birds were found near human burial sites, which helped researchers understand the purpose of the birds and their mummification with the limited number of birds to study, that is around 27 complete or partial birds from five different species.
It’s clear that these mummified parrots lived a rather unhappy life: being taken away from their homes and living as a pet while having their feathers plucked out. But, due to the care and preservation that went into preparing these mummified animals , researchers and scientists can now study and understand more about burial and ritual practices over 900 years later.
The archaeologist had found parrot and macaw feathers at burials before, but when discovering leather boxes containing mummified birds, it was a new chapter in learning about the Atacama. "They had to be transported across huge steppes, cold weather and difficult terrain to the Atacama. And they had to be kept alive," explained Capriles to PSU. With further studies and archaeological excavations at these sites, researchers hope to learn more about the mummified parrots and their journey from the Amazon to the Atacama desert.

105,000-Year-Old Kalahari Crystals Challenge Cultural Evolution Story
105,000-Year-Old Kalahari Crystals Challenge Cultural Evolution Story
New research at a rockshelter on the edge of the Kalahari Desert in South Africa challenges the assumption that modern human origins and complex behaviors were limited to coastal environments. A collection of unusual artifacts that are more than 100,000 years old suggests that inland Homo sapiens were just as innovative as their coastal cousins.
There is a widespread belief that the origins of modern humans and modern human cognition can be located in southern Africa. Since many of the archaeological sites linked to early human activity are located on the coast, experts assumed that Homo sapiens evolved their technological and symbolic behavior in that region as well. But a new study published in the journal Nature paints a very different picture.

The Oldest Proof for Modern Humans in the Kalahari Desert
An international team of scientists explored the Ga-Mohana Hill North Rockshelter, a site overlooking the savannah of the Kalahari Desert and more than 600 km (370 miles) inland. Study lead author, Dr. Jayne Wilkins of Griffith University's Australian Research Centre for Human Evolution, explained the significance of the discovery in a University of Innsbruck press release, saying:
“Our findings from this rockshelter show that overly simplified models for the origins of our species are no longer acceptable. Evidence suggests many regions across the African continent were involved, the Kalahari being just one […] There have been very few well-preserved, datable archaeological sites in the interior of southern Africa that can tell us about Homo sapiens' origins away from the coast. A rockshelter on Ga-Mohana Hill that stands above an expansive savannah in the Kalahari is one such site.”
According to the press release, the scientists’ work has also provided “the oldest proof for modern humans in the Kalahari Desert in Africa.”

Looking at “Miniature Clocks”
An analysis of the site and the artifacts found at the rock shelter provides evidence that the behavior patterns of Homo sapiens at the site paralleled what was happening at the coast 100,000 years ago. The primary evidence comes from a collection of calcite crystals and fragments of ostrich eggshell, which the researchers believe may have been used as a container for water storage.
By using Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL), the team determined the age of the different archaeological layers in which the artifacts were found and dated the objects to 105,000 years old. Michael Meyer, the head of the OSL Laboratory at the Institute of Geology at the University of Innsbruck and the geologist who headed the OSL analysis, explained the technique:
“This method exploits natural light signals that accumulate through time in sedimentary quartz and feldspar grains. You have to think about each grain as a miniaturized clock. Under controlled laboratory conditions we can read out this natural light or so-called luminescence signal, which in turn informs us about the age of the archaeological sediment layers. The more light the older the sediment.”
The researchers also noted that the Kalahari Desert’s climate used to be much wetter – as evident from the tufa (a type of limestone) formations found around the rock shelter. Uranium-thorium dating of these features provide an age of between 110,000 and 100,000 years – the same time as the ancient humans were inhabiting the site.
A Collection of Kalahari Crystals – Symbols of a Very Ancient Sacred Palace?
At first the collection of 22 calcite crystals presented something of a mystery because, unlike the ostrich shell pieces, the researchers couldn’t see any obvious utilitarian purpose for them. Then they decided that was a clue. Dr. Wilkins said, “Our analysis indicates that the crystals were not introduced into the deposits via natural processes, but were deliberately collected objects likely linked to spiritual beliefs and ritual.”

Study co-author Dr. Sechaba Maape from the University of the Witwatersrand agrees and said that “This is remarkable considering that site continues to be used to practice ritual activities today.” The archaeological team is conscious of the fact that Ga-Mohana Hill still holds spiritual significance for local communities, and they say that they try to limit their impact on the local use of the rock shelter site. “Leaving no visible trace and working with the local community is critical for the sustainability of the project,” Dr. Wilkins noted, that this is also important “So that Ga-Mohana Hill can continue to provide new insights about the origins and evolution of Homo sapiens in the Kalahari.”

Astonishing new footage captures ‘pyramid UFOs swarming US Navy destroyer'
Astonishing new footage captures ‘pyramid UFOs swarming US Navy destroyer'
The amazing video and collection of photos of a "spherical" craft swarming a US Navy destroyer were allegedly part of a classified briefing conducted to "de-stigmatise the UAP problem"
Incredible footage supposedly taken by a US Navy destroyer has been leaked appearing to show several pyramid-shaped UFOs swarming above the ship at night.
On his Instagram @jeremycorbell and website, he claims he has been able to verify their authenticity having interviewed “those who would have knowledge of the events” as well as working with renowned investigative journalist George Knapp.
The 18-second clip taken onboard the USS Russell starts by showing what appears to be three faint orbs hovering in the sky.
The camera then pans to show a fourth object before zooming in on it to reveal its apparent triangular shape.
It also seems to be flashing repeatedly and is surrounded by two other fainter shapes – although it is not clear if they are simply lens flares.
As well as the eye-opening video, Jeremy shared three photos taken by the USS Omaha of an unidentified “spherical” craft.
“It is noted that the ‘spherical’ craft was suspected to be a transmedium vehicle and was observed descending into the water without destruction,” he wrote.
“It is noted that the ‘spherical’ craft could not be found upon entry to the water - and that a submarine was used in the search.”
The two incidents appear to tally up with a previous story run by The Drive of multiple destroyers being swarmed by “mysterious drones” off California over a number of nights.
The producer was also sent information on a third sighting on March 4, 2019 from an FA-18 pilot and a Weapons Systems Officer.
He claimed the WSO took “personal mobile phone images of UAPs” out of the cockpit of the fighter jetThe three incidents were allegedly spoken about during a classified briefing conducted by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) about the UFO/UAP presence on May 1, 2020, according to Jeremy.
"Those familiar with the briefing articulated to me that the goal was to de-stigmatise the UAP problem and to promote more intelligence collection regarding UAP incursions and encounters with active military deployments," he said.
Speaking on his website, Jeremy explained the lengthy process he went through to “verify” the materials he received, before adding: “George Knapp and I were able to verify the materials you are about to consider. I can confirm their authenticity - as well as - the narrative supplied to me when they were presented.
“These are authentic photos and video from actual military encounters with UFOs - generated to educate high-level intelligence officers within our military on the nature and presentation of the UAP / UFO phenomenon.”
He concluded that he hoped the materials “will be representative of a unique moment in modern history; a possible turning point towards the rational and transparent approach of investigating and exploring the mystery of the UFO Phenomenon”.
Daily Star has contacted the Department of Defense and US Navy for comment.
If an object has appeared in the sky, you can assume it's been mistaken for a UFO. It doesn’t matter if the culprit is as small as an insect or as familiar as the moon—under the right circumstances, almost anything can resemble an alien spacecraft. While we wait for evidence of visitors from outer space, check out these examples of identified objects mistakenly reported as UFOs.
1. THE GOODYEAR BLIMP
Goodyear’s blimp is iconic, but that didn’t stop it from being mistaken for a UFO in September 2020. While flying over MetLife Stadium during a football game, it caught the attention of many confused eyewitnesses on the ground. Videos from the incident show cars pulled over on the side of the highway as drivers gawk at the object. Shortly after the sightings went viral, the aircraft’s true identity was revealed.
2. VENUS
There isn’t just one case of our planetary neighbor being mistaken for an unidentified flying object. According to experts, Venus is one of the most common explanations for UFO sightings. As Discover magazine reports, the book UFOs: An Insider’s View of the Official Quest for Evidence includes an account of Georgia police officers chasing an object moving quickly about 500 feet off the ground that turned out to be the planet. Venus is the brightest celestial body behind the sun and moon, and it appears close to the horizon—two factors that may contribute to the regular cases of mistaken identity.
3. THE MOON
Mistaking Venus for a UFO is one thing, but this one is less excusable. In 2011, the Hertfordshire, UK, police received a call from someone claiming to see a bright, unidentified object hovering near their house. They were convinced the object was headed their way, though at one point they admitted “it’s stopped now.” A few minutes after the call ended, the caller phoned again to share the realization that they had actually been looking at the moon.
4. A SPACEX ROCKET
SpaceX’s groundbreaking projects sometimes get attention for the wrong reasons. When the Falcon 9 rocket took off over Southern California in December 2017, it created a ghostly shape in the evening sky. Residents were so spooked by what they believed to be a UFO that the Los Angeles fire department issued an alert identifying the “mysterious light.” SpaceX’s Starlink satellites also prompted a wave of UFO reports.
5. FROZEN PEE
When British astronaut Tim Peake spotted four lights moving in formation outside the International Space Station in 2015, he was prepared to have a close encounter. It didn't take long for him and the rest of the crew to figure out the UFO’s true origin: What he mistook for far-away lights were actually crystallized droplets of urine from a nearby Russian space probe floating past the window.
6. LENTICULAR CLOUDS
Lenticular clouds form when moist air flows over a protruding geological feature and hits the air current above it, creating a downward wave. The air from this wave evaporates into a large, lens-shaped cloud that looks like a flying saucer. The resemblance is so uncanny that they've been nicknamed "flying saucer clouds." Lenticular clouds are one of the most notorious culprits behind erroneous UFO sightings.
7. A GOOGLE BALLOON
The Roswell incident turned the weather balloon cover-up into a cliché, but there have been legitimate examples of people confusing balloons for UFOs. In 2017, a large balloon from the Google company X crashed in Colombia. Farmers who observed the downed object smoking and leaking “strange liquid” thought they were seeing a UFO. Local police were able to identify the wreckage as a balloon, which X was using to bring internet connectivity to the remote area.
8. AN ARMY PARACHUTE TEAM
A pyrotechnic, aerial display from the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team has become a tradition at the annual Sun Fun Festival in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The coordinated parachute jump is a dazzling spectacle for people who know to expect it. For many who don’t, the sight of glowing orbs falling from the sky looks like an alien invasion. After provoking numerous UFO reports during its first year, the festival organizers began putting out press releases to warn people of the event. This hasn’t stopped false sightings from becoming part of the annual tradition.
9. A BUG
What’s shiny, round, and capable of zipping through the air in multiple directions? Many insects fit these criteria, but the description also applies to plenty of UFO reports. In 2012, Fox affiliate KDVR in Denver shared a video of an alleged UFO that astronomer Phil Plait identified as a bug. The lack of perspective in the clip made it possible to misidentify the tiny insect for a large aircraft flying in the distance.
10. HOBBY DRONES
Over the past decade, hobby drones have become one of the top explanations for UFO sightings. Not only do they look like scaled-down versions of spaceships, but they’re more likely to be spotted in places where they don’t belong than military jets or weather balloons. Amateur drone hobbyists can even buy programmable LED light kits with the intention of confusing people looking to the skies.
11. LED KITES
Kites can also be decorated with LED lights, which makes them potential bait for UFO spotters. An object pulsating with multi-colored lights was reported over Vancouver in early 2011; it was later identified as a Chinese-made kite. Some have also suggested than a bright-blue UFO recorded over Hawaii in December 2020 was really an LED kite on the loose.

'I think that aliens out there would be friendly but we can't gamble on it,' said futurist Michio Kaku, author of The God Equation. Kaku calls blithely reaching out to extraterrestrials a 'terrible idea'
The reference to Montezuma may spark fear among Earthlings, as the ancient ruler of the Aztecs in the 1500s who welcomed Cortés and was killed because of his good deed.
Cortés took advantage of the welcoming, took Montezuma hostage so that he could take the Aztec throne.
Montezuma is said to have later been killed by his angry subjects who believed he had willing given up to Spanish rule.
And Kaku warns that welcoming foreign beings to Earth may have the same outcome.

He attended Harvard University and the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his PhD in 1972.
Kaku's studies focus on theoretical physics, and the continuing search for a so-called 'Theory of Everything' that unites the four fundamental forces of nature – the strong force, the weak force, gravity and electromagnetism.
Today he popularizes physics for the public as a science communicator, hosting TV specials for the BBC, the Discovery Channel and other outlets.
He has also written various popular science books including Physics of the Future, Beyond Einstein: The Cosmic Quest for the Theory of the Universe, and The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance, and Empower the Mind.
Several of his titles have topped the New York Times best-seller list.
His latest book, The God Equation, discusses the ongoing quest to develop a 'theory of everything' that unites the fundamental forces of nature.
But Kaku's scientific curiosity extends into other realms, including the search for intelligent life in the universe.
In a 2018 reddit AMA, he said he felt humanity would make contact with aliens 'within the century.'
His optimism comes from the planned October 2021 launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, which will offer even greater infrared resolution and sensitivity than the Hubble telescope.
'We'll have thousands of planets to look at, and that's why I think the chances are quite high that we may make contact with an alien civilization,' he said in a new interview with The Guardian.
But the noted futurist is ambivalent about ringing an ET's doorbell.
'There are some colleagues of mine that believe we should reach out to them,' he told the Guardian. 'I think that's a terrible idea.'
'We all know what happened to Montezuma when he met Cortés in Mexico so many hundreds of years ago.'
Montezuma II, the last emperor of the Aztecs, was defeated by Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés in 1520.
'Now, personally, I think that aliens out there would be friendly but we can't gamble on it,' Kaku added. 'So I think we will make contact but we should do it very carefully.'
In our rush to communicate, he said in the reddit AMA, we also should think about their intentions: 'Are they expansive and aggressive, or peaceful?'
And communication may not be that easy.
Because we're using radio waves, 'talking to them will be difficult, since they could be tens of light years away,' he said in the AMA.
Kaku is hardly alone in having reservations about a close encounter. 'We don't know much about aliens, but we know about humans,' renowned physicist Stephen Hawkings (pictured) said in 2018
'[Another] possibility is that they land on the White House lawn and announce their existence,' he added. 'But I think that is unlikely, since we would be like forest animals to them.'
Kaku is hardly alone in having reservations about a close encounter.
'We don't know much about aliens, but we know about humans,' renowned physicist Stephen Hawkings said in 2018, Live Science reported.
'If you look at history, contact between humans and less intelligent organisms have often been disastrous from their point of view, and encounters between civilizations with advanced versus primitive technologies have gone badly for the less advanced.'
An alien civilization receiving a message from Earth could be 'billions of years' ahead of human development, he added.
'If so, they will be vastly more powerful, and may not see us as any more valuable than we see bacteria.'
But, like Kaku, Hawkins still supported the search for alien life.
In fact his comments were given at a press event announcing a ten-year, $100 million effort to listen for broadcast signals from the million closest stars, using two of the world's most powerful telescopes.
'It's time to commit to finding the answer - to search for life beyond Earth,' he said. 'We are alive. We are intelligent. We must know.'
In the 21st century, we get a lot of our Earth political news on late night talk shows, and now we can get our space news there as well. Renowned physicist, string theorist and popular TV scientist Michio Kaku has been making the rounds lately talking about the James Webb Space Telescope, which is scheduled to be launched in the fall of 2021. Like a good scientist, he’s in favor of using new and better technology, but he’s also cautious about how some of his colleagues will use this particular tool for exploring the cosmos.
“Soon we’ll have the Webb telescope up in orbit and we’ll have thousands of planets to look at, and that’s why I think the chances are quite high that we may make contact with an alien civilization. There are some colleagues of mine that believe we should reach out to them. I think that’s a terrible idea. We all know what happened to Montezuma when he met Cortés in Mexico so many hundreds of years ago.”
Montezuma
For those who only know of Montezuma from the bad joke about gastric problems, Moctezuma II (Montezuma) welcomed the alien known as conquistador Hernán Cortés to the Aztec empire, and both he and the empire died as a result. Montezuma reached out in peace, just as many of our SETI messages say “We come in peace,” and Kaku thinks this is a bad idea too because it implies we’re unarmed and could convince extraterrestrials to “come and rule us.” Or, as he said in 2018, come and “develop” our planet – building their own structures, planting their own plants and installing their own government. Gee, that’s never happened on Earth, has it?
“To be honest, I’ve get emails from people that say: ‘You’re wrong professor, the aliens are already here. They’ve been in the flying saucers, they have been kidnapped.”
Kaku followed up his Guardian interview with an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” He anticipated and addressed the blowback from many people who believe UFOs are alien spaceships and Earth is already populated with extraterrestrials, both camouflaged and out in the open, abducting humans but returning them seemingly unharmed. How come they haven’t conquistadored us like Cortés?
“I tell them the next time you are kidnapped by an alien flying saucer, for God’s sake, steal something. I don’t care whether it’s a pen or a chip, steal something! Because there is no law against stealing from an extraterrestrial civilization.”
What was I supposed to do?
Obviously, Michio Kaku is a scientist who values facts and proofs over speculations. Of course, stealing a writing quill from Cortés wouldn’t have saved Montezuma – he still had hundreds of troops, dreams of gold, superior weapons and infectious diseases. Kaku says he hopes aliens are friendly but let’s let them show it – don’t reveal our cards to them right up front.
Is he right? There are many who believe we’ve already alerted alien civilizations we’re here and not to bright by our industrial pollution and growing numbers of satellites doing nothing but orbiting – at least from their perspective.
And the biggest sign to aliens we’re not to bright and ready for conquest? We get our science knowledge from late night talk shows.
When it comes to the matter of high-tech military devices that become mistaken for UFOs, there are a number of examples. Roswell, for example, was a top secret experiment using people in high-altitude flights in the skies of New Mexico in early July 1947. Not a UFO or an alien in sight. Then, there’s the Mantell case of 1948. Moving on, one of the most important examples (a case that has undeniable parallels with Roswell), is also one of the lesser-known cases. It is a fascinating story that was uncovered by U.K. ufologist Dr. David Clarke. It is well worth noting that in the early 1960s an event occurred in the wilds of Scotland which eerily mirrored the Roswell affair of 1947. Yes, we are talking about a clandestine balloon flight that was given nothing less than a spaceship-driven spin. In an excellent July 2012 article at his blog titled “The Scottish Roswell?” Dr. David Clarke said of this curious case: “Picture the scene: A shepherd visiting a remote area stumbles upon strange wreckage strewn across the ground which could be the remains of a crashed spaceship. The debris consists of pieces of unusual metal and strange drawings. On reporting his find at the local police station, search teams and military personnel descend on the area. The wreckage disappears – no one knows where – and civilians are told to ‘keep quiet about it.’ At this point, you are probably thinking ‘Roswell, New Mexico, 1947.’
Project Moby Dick balloon
“But no, this incident occurred in the Scottish Highlands one spring morning in 1962. It has uncanny links to its American cousin, even down to the ‘cover story’ used hide the true identity and purpose of the ‘crashed spaceship,'” says Clarke. The case to which Dr. Clarke refers occurred on the wild moorland in Ardgay, Scotland. In the same way that rancher William Ware “Mac” Brazel reported his find to the U.S. authorities outside of Roswell in 1947, a shepherd named Donald MacKenzie did likewise, albeit in Scotland: he contacted the local police and told them what he had found. A four-man Royal Air Force team – attached to the RAF Mountain Rescue Service – traveled to the area and found both the site and the odd materials. Attempts on the part of Squadron Leader John Sims, of Royal Air Force Kinloss, to learn what had come down, failed: he was told by the Air Ministry, London, that it was absolutely none of his business. Data that appeared in base logbooks was confiscated. The mystery was quickly and effectively hidden. The only thing missing from this saga was a bunch of dead aliens strewn across the moors of Ardgay. Nevertheless, it’s still a story that contains all the key ingredients of a ufological pot-boiler!
Except for one thing: at its heart was something very different to a UFO. Dr. Clarke decided to dig deep into the story. He did more than that: he solved the decades-old mystery. The wreckage found at Ardgay was not from a crashed flying saucer. It was, in reality, debris from a huge balloon attached to a CIA-funded, classified program called Moby Dick. Air Vectors notes: “The first Moby Dick launch was on 19 February 1953. 640 Moby Dick balloons were launched up to the end of the program on 30 June 1954. For whatever reasons, a range of different balloon configurations were used during the program, with balloon diameters ranging from 15 meters (49 feet) to 25 meters (83 feet), and shapes including cylinders.” The similarities between the Scottish event of 1962 and that which occurred at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 are as clear as they are obvious. What we have here is the development of a mystery with clear UFO-themed overtones attached to it, but which actually had very down to earth – but highly secret – balloon-based origins. Maybe Roswell and Ardgay should become twin-towns.
When it comes to the issue of what really happened on what was once known as the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County, New Mexico in early July 1947, there are things we know, things we suspect, and things we will probably never know. But, that something happened – something which caused theU.S. Air Force to offer multiple explanations for the event – is not a matter of any doubt at all. It was an incident that clearly concerned elements of not just the military, but the government, too, and to a highly significant degree. Eye-witnesses – both military and civilian – were warned not to talk about what they had seen and / or heard. More than a few of those warnings crossed the line and can only accurately be described as death threats. People were plunged into states of fear. Lives were changed forever; even scarred. Some lives may have ended; as in terminated. It was on July 8, 1947 that the strange event surfaced publicly. Associated Press (among many other news outlets) reported on the startling, then-breaking news:
“The many rumors regarding the flying disc became a reality yesterday when the intelligence office of the 509th Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force, Roswell Army Air Field, was fortunate enough to gain possession of a disc through the cooperation of one of the local ranchers and the sheriff’s office of Chavez County. The flying object landed on a ranch near Roswell sometime last week. Not having phone facilities, the rancher stored the disc until such time as he was able to contact the sheriff’s office, who in turn notified Major Jesse A. Marcel of the 509th Bomb Group Intelligence Office. Action was immediately taken and the disc was picked up at the rancher’s home. It was inspected at the Roswell Army Air Field and subsequently loaned by Major Marcel to higher headquarters.” The story was quickly picked up not just across the United States, but across the planet, too. In barely no time at all, however, the flying disc angle was blown out of the sky: the whole thing was nothing but a huge, embarrassing mistake. The materials found on the massive ranch – by rancher William Ware “Mack” Brazel – were not the remains of a disc, after all. What had really been found, and subsequently collected and brought to the Roswell Army Air Field, was weather-balloon debris. Or, so the military was careful to try and assure everyone.
Nick Redfern
With Brazel at the time of the discovery – which had actually occurred days earlier – was a young boy named Dee Proctor. He would go on to be one of the most important people in the Roswell story. We also know for sure that three, key military men, all of whom were destined to become part and parcel of the Roswell affair, were also present at the ranch – and specifically before a veritable battalion was on-site and ordered to recover the massive amount of whatever-it-was. They were Major Jesse Marcel, the intelligence-office of the 509th Bomb Group at Roswell; Captain Sheridan Cavitt, of the Counter-Intelligence Corps; and CIC Master Sergeant Lewis S. “Bill” Rickett. All three were at ground-zero. They all saw the wreckage. Years later Marcel would open up wide on the matter of the debris he saw and collected. Cavitt and Rickett may have seen more than debris. Way more. Possibly bodies, strange bodies. Brazel and little Dee may have seen one or more of those bodies, too.
When the media revealed the weather-balloon explanation, something amazing happened: Roswell was largely, and very quickly, forgotten. Granted, those implicated in the affair never forgot what they saw and experienced. But, the media certainly moved on to other things. Plus, back in 1947 there were no UFO research groups around to look into the case. The result? Aside from a few, occasional, brief references in books and magazines in the 1950s and 1960s, Roswell was for all intents and purposes dead and buried – which is precisely how those charged with keeping the disturbing secret wanted it. Things changed, however, in the mid-to-late 1970s. Both William Moore and Stanton Friedman were eagerly pursuing the Roswell story by then; it was a story that was slowly but surely destined to be resurrected. It was Friedman who found the now-elderly Jesse Marcel. The long-retired major had a most interesting story to tell:
Nick Redfern
“I saw a lot of wreckage but no complete machine. It had disintegrated before it hit the ground. The wreckage was scattered over an area about three quarters of a mile long and several hundred feet wide. I was pretty well acquainted with most everything that was in the air at that time, both ours and foreign. I was also acquainted with virtually every type of weather-balloon or radar-tracking device being used by either the civilians or the military. What it was we didn’t know. We just picked up the fragments…it certainly wasn’t anything built by us.” Mack Brazel’s son, Bill, would later say that what was found on the Foster Ranch was “…something on the order of tinfoil except that [it] wouldn’t tear…You could wrinkle it and lay it back down and it immediately resumed its original shape. Quite pliable, but you couldn’t crease or bend it like ordinary metal. Almost like a plastic, but definitely metallic in nature.”
When Friedman spoke with Bill Rickett, in 1985, the also-long-retired Counter-Intelligence Corps man revealed a few snippets of information on what happened, but practically froze like a deer caught in headlights when Friedman brought up the matter of bodies. It was clearly an issue Rickett had no intention of discussing – and he didn’t. As for Sheridan Cavitt, he proved to be one of the trickiest players in the entire story. He revealed very little of substance. On occasion, he even denied having ever been at Roswell or at the crash site. Cavitt may even have withheld what he knew of the incident when, in 1994, the Air Force came knocking on his front-door, wanting answers. As for Dee Proctor, well, he had the fear of God put into him by the military – and to the extent that he barely ever talked about the mysterious events of July 1947. Back then, a lot of people knew something of the case. The men above, however, knew more than most. Much more.
