How transparency on UFOs can unite a deeply divided nation
How transparency on UFOs can unite a deeply divided nation
President Bidenpromised to unify a fractured country. At the same time, his administration pledged to usher in a new era of transparency. Following the release of a highly anticipated government report on UFOs, Biden has a rare opportunity to live up to both commitments.
The UFO report prompted a flurry of bipartisan calls for a robust, open-minded investigation into these perplexing phenomena. If members of Congress can set aside seemingly intractable differences to take this issue seriously, the Biden administration – and the American public – should take note.
Beyond acknowledging that intelligence analysts are thoroughly stumped by mysterious objects – some of which appear to exhibit remarkable technology in restricted airspace – the report marks an extraordinary shift in how the government perceives UFOs. After seven decades of deflection, ridicule and brushing aside such encounters, the Pentagon is following in Congress’s footsteps and taking such phenomena seriously. Very seriously.
Moreover, by demanding the report, Congress stumbled upon an issue that can unite Americans of all political stripes. Indeed, if strong, bipartisan statements on these encounters are any indicator, the UFO mystery could ultimately transcend the deep polarization of the post-Trump era.
To that end, the Biden administration should declassify some basic, non-sensitive information, focusing on objects that seem to exhibit remarkable technology.
Of 143 unexplained encounters, 18 involved “unusual” “movement patterns or flight characteristics.” According to the report, analysts are attempting to determine if these objects demonstrated “breakthrough technologies.” This aligns with reporting by the New York Times that some of these craft accelerated, changed direction and submerged in seemingly extraordinary ways.
The report’s equivocation on these perplexing encounters stands in stark contrast to former director of national intelligence John Ratcliffe’s unambiguous comments that “there are technologies that we don’t have and frankly that we are not capable of defending against.”
According to Ratcliffe, intelligence analysts “ruled out” weather incidents, visual disturbances, foreign adversaries or ultra-secret U.S. technology as possible explanations for the most exotic phenomena.
If Ratcliffe’s statements are accurate, this is an extraordinary development. More to the point, the Biden administration has a rare opportunity to live up to its pledges to restore transparency and national unity. It can begin by releasing a numbered list of the report’s 18 “unusual” encounters alongside the intelligence community’s preliminary confidence levels (low, medium or high) that each object exhibited some sort of “breakthrough technology.”
If Ratcliffe is correct and analysts ruled out mundane explanations or advanced U.S. and adversarial technology, the government’s high-level assessments would fuel a remarkable discussion, drawing in Americans from across the political divide.
Perhaps best of all, declassifying such data would not expose tradecraft or sensitive sources and collection methods. In other words, the Biden administration has no good reason not to release such basic information.
Ratcliffe’s eyebrow-raising comments are not the only reason more Americans’ curiosity should be piqued.
After reviewing government reports on UFOs, former astronaut, senator and current NASA administrator Bill Nelsonsaid “the hair stood up on the back of my neck.”
John Brennan, CIA director under President Obama, went further, speculating that UFOs might constitute a “different form of life.” In much the same vein, Luis Elizondo, the one-time head of a Pentagon unit tasked with investigating these phenomena, stated that the U.S. government is actively “considering whether the most extraordinary unidentified flying objects are not of earthly origin.” Meanwhile, Christopher Mellon, a former top Pentagon official, penned a post titled “Don’t Dismiss the Alien Hypothesis.”
And in recent weeks, former presidents Obama and Clinton – who still receive high-level intelligence briefings – openly speculated about extraterrestrial life when asked about UFOs.
Make no mistake: These are fascinating developments that should spur curiosity among Republicans and Democrats alike.
And if a thorough investigation, driven by intense bipartisan interest, ultimately determines that balloons, drones, birds or plastic bags explain the most extraordinary UFO encounters, the upshot is that America will be less politically and culturally fractured. (Ditto for any revelation that an adversary mounted an audacious espionage campaign.)
As large swathes of the country face a drought of “biblical proportions” and all-time temperature records are demolished, an unlikely shot at uncovering “breakthrough technology” is worth eroding the deep fault lines dividing America.
To that end, the Biden administration must live up to its twin commitments to transparency and unity.

A coronavirus outbreak struck East Asia some 20,000 years ago — and left traces of the epidemic in the genetic makeup of people from that area, a study has found.
An international team of researchers led from the University of Queensland analysed the genes in human DNA that code for proteins that interact with coronaviruses.
They found evidence among the DNA people of East Asian ancestry of natural selection for adaptations that would have served to lessen disease severity.
COVID-19 — which has killed some 3.8 million people over the course of the last 18 months — is not the only severe outbreak of coronavirus that jumped from animals.
In 2002, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome resulting from SARS-CoV emerged in China and led to more than 800 mortalities.
Meanwhile, MERS-CoV — which leads to Middle East Respiratory Syndrome — killed more than 850 people after it was first reported in Saudi Arabia in 2012.
'The modern human genome contains evolutionary information tracing back tens of thousands of years,' said paper author and synthetic biologist Kirill Alexandrov of the Queensland University of Technology.

The entire world right now is going through a horrible and deadly pandemic with over 180,000,000 people having been infected with COVID-19 and almost 4,000,000 deaths. But this isn’t a new thing as over 20,000 years ago there was another coronavirus infection that hit the eastern part of Asia.
A new study was conducted by researchers from the United States and Australia who analyzed the genomes of over 2,500 people belonging to 26 different worldwide populations. They specifically found the earliest interaction of the human genome with coronavirus infections and those genetic imprints are incredibly still present in the DNA of people currently from East Asia.
Lead author Yassine Souilmi explained that viruses duplicate themselves; however, they don’t have the tools to do that on their own, “So they actually depend on a host, and that’s why they invade a host and then they hijack their machinery to create copies of themselves.” The hijacking on the cells can still be seen in today’s populations which allowed the researchers to pinpoint whose ancestors may have been exposed to a very ancient form of coronavirus.
The experts found specific genomes with signs of ancient coronavirus in five populations located in China, Japan, and Vietnam. It is possible that the virus could have spread to other parts of the world but there is no information so far on whether or not that happened.
In those five specific populations, the researchers discovered that a beneficial mutation had been developed throughout the years that aided in protecting them against coronavirus and gave them a better chance of surviving it. Souilmi explained this further, “Over a long period of time, and along the exposure, this leaves a very, very clear marking in the genomes of their descendants,” adding, “And that’s the signature we actually use to detect this ancient epidemic, and also the timing of this ancient epidemic.”
It is unknown how many people caught the virus, how many died as a result from it, and what type of symptoms they had – was it like a normal flu or something much worse, similar to what we’re currently dealing with? Nevertheless, it is hard to imagine that coronavirus hit a part of the world over 20,000 years ago and it is now doing the same thing but much, much worse.
The study was published in Current Biology where it can be read in full.
Over the course of several months between the final weeks of 1896 and the early summer of 1897, newspapers throughout the United States had been reporting on odd stories of airships that were purportedly being seen across the nation. Beginning in California, the sightings continued in the months ahead as the area of sightings slowly expanded eastward into states like Arkansas, Missouri and Texas.
One of the most interesting accounts from the era appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on the date of April 16, 1897, which announced that the mysterious airship had been viewed through a telescope by one Dr. Leo Caplan while it passed over Missouri.
“The airship visited St. Louis again Thursday night,” the Post-Dispatch report read. “This time the bright searchlight was not only seen by thousands but the object was observed through a telescope and the outlines of the craft were seen.”
Artist’s rendering of the airship purportedly seen during late 1896 and into the summer of 1897.
Dr. Caplan, who was described in the article as a medical doctor and “a dabbler in astronomy” and frequent stargazer, had been convinced that what he observed was no star.
“I was walking to my home on Washington avenue last night about 7:45,” Caplan explained, “when I saw a bright light almost overhead.” The light appeared to the northwest of where Caplan stood observing.
“But the moment I saw this light,” Caplan explained, “I realized it was something unusual and I hastened home, ran to the roof and brought my telescope to bear on the object. Before taking a sight I noticed the light was swaying from side to side.” Caplan likened this peculiar motion to that of “a searchlight that was being manipulated.”
Most intriguingly, Caplan also said that he was able to observe through his telescope “a long black body behind the light,” which he described as being similar to other reports of a large, cigar-shaped object reported by other observers around the time who had seen the mysterious craft during its mostly nighttime visits. One day after Caplan’s observation, another purported sighting of the strange aerial visitor was logged by an Arkansas constable named John J. Sumpter, who saw the airship with his Deputy Sherriff John McLemore.
Amidst newspaper reports like these that had been occurring in the spring and early summer of 1897, there had been other unusual sightings taking place even further east. Around the same time, Joseph Loven, a resident of the Cold Springs community along Jonas Ridge, North Carolina, first said he observed peculiar lights that appeared at night and could be seen from his home off in the direction of a location now famous for the strange lights said to manifest there: a long, flat ridgeline called Brown Mountain.
Brown Mountain as seen today in Western North Carolina.
The Brown Mountain Lights, as the phenomena reputed to occur near Linville in Western North Carolina has since come to be known, would seem to be quite different from the reports of airships that were afoot during the 1890s. However, is it possible that there might nonetheless be a connection between them?
In 1906, nine years after the American airship affair had died down (and some of the earliest alleged sightings of the Brown Mountain Lights were said to have occurred), author Jules Verne still had airships on his mind. His novel Master of the World, a sequel to his earlier book Robur the Conquerer, was now hitting the shelves, which continued the adventures of the fearful Robur and his penchant for building magnificent flying ships. In Master of the World, Verne described a rather unique location as the base of operations for Robur’s latest operations, as featured in the opening pages of the story.
“The strange occurrences began in the western part of our great American State of North Carolina,” Verne explains. “There, deep amid the Blueridge Mountains rises the crest called the Great Eyrie. Its huge rounded form is distinctly seen from the little town of Morganton on the Catawba River, and still more clearly as one approaches the mountains by way of the village of Pleasant Garden.”

Verne goes on to paint the Great Eyrie as a strange prominence rising above the surrounding landscape, describing it as “rocky and grim and inaccessible,” noting that “under certain atmospheric conditions [it] has a peculiarly blue and distant effect.” Verne elaborates further, speculating that the summit of the Great Eyrie, which remained impenetrable to even the most experienced climbers, might have been an ancient volcano, “one which had slept through ages, but whose inner fires might yet reawake,” which he likens to Krakatoa, Mont Pelee, and potentially being host to an “eruption such as that of 1902 in Martinique.”
This much might have been evident by the many sightings of smoke, or the “unexplained rumblings” cited by locals which appeared to emanate from the Great Eyrie. This, and the fact that, as Verne recounts, “A glow in the sky had crowned the height at night.”
“And finally,” Verne tells us, “one stormy night pale flames, reflected from the clouds above the summit, cast upon the district below a sinister, warning light.”
Flames above the Great Eyrie, from Verne’s “Master of the World”
(Public Domain).
Soon, newspapers throughout the region would begin to report on the mysterious light show occurring in the skies above The Great Eyrie, and as Verne tells us, “curiosity among those who being in no danger themselves were interested in the disturbance merely as a strange phenomenon of nature,” while others nearer to the mysterious mountain lived in fear of possible forthcoming danger.
“Those more immediately threatened were the citizens of Morganton,” Verne tells us, “and even more the good folk of Pleasant Garden and the hamlets and farms yet closer to the mountain.”
English translations of Vern’s novel wouldn’t make their way onto the shelves of American bookstores until 1911, but by the time they did, people around real-life Morganton, North Carolina, were already familiar with similar strange happenings said to occur in their region.
An example appeared in The Charlotte Daily Observer on the date of September 23, 1913, which provided the following account:
“The mysterious light that is seen just above the horizon almost every night from Rattlesnake Knob, near Cold Spring, on the Morganton road is still baffling all investigators. With punctual regularity the light rises in a southeasterly direction from the point of observation just over the lower slope of Brown Mountain, first about 7:30 p.m. and again at 10 o’clock. It looks much like a toy fire balloon, a distinct ball, with no atmosphere about it. It is much smaller than the full moon, much larger than any star and very red. It rises in the far distance from beyond Brown Mountain, which is about 6 miles from Rattlesnake Knob, and after going up a short distance, wavers and goes out in less than 1 minute. It does not always appear in exactly the same place, but varies what must amount in the distance to several miles. The light is visible at all seasons, so Mr. Anderson Loven, an old and reliable resident testifies There seems to be no doubt that the light rises from some point in the wide, level country between Brown Mountain and the South Mountains, a distance of about 12 miles, though it is possible that it rises at a still greater distance.”
Historical photo depicting lights purported to represent the mysterious lights seen near the vicinity of Brown Mountain, North Carolina.
According to most sources, no written records of mysterious lights appear in the region prior to around 1912, although most newspaper accounts begin appearing in 1913. These state that locals had been troubled by the appearances of the lights for the last “two or three years,” which as Geologist Ed Speer, a researcher who has studied the lights for several years has pointed out, would roughly coincide with the appearance of English translations of Jules Verne’s Master of the World in 1911.
However, some sources such as Joseph Loven, who claimed to have seen the lights as early as 1897 (when mysterious “airships” were frequent appearing, at least in American newspapers) also said he wouldn’t begin to pay attention to the lights until 1910, when others began to bring attention to them like Rev. C. E. Gregory, his neighbor at the time.
Is it indeed possible that there could be any connection between beliefs about the Brown Mountain Lights—appearances of which have been said to persist now for decades—and the mysterious airships of the 1890s? Admittedly, the appearance of “The Great Eyrie” as depicted in art from Verne’s novel bears a striking similarity to Table Rock, a prominent mountain in the Linville Gorge wilderness a short distance from Brown Mountain where reports of the mysterious lights have also been logged over the years.

It would be difficult to imagine Jules Verne (who despite his gifted imagination, never strayed far from his home in France) had somehow heard about quaint local traditions in the southern Appalachians regarding ghost lights at the time he wrote of the “strange occurrences… in the western part of our great American State of North Carolina” in Master of the World. This is especially unlikely since newspaper accounts detailing the lights appeared no earlier than 1912, one year after the publication of his novel.
Conversely, the skeptically inclined would argue that stories about the lights, rather than inspiring Verne’s story, had actually been influenced by its publication instead. Then again, if this were true, what can be said of the endurance of reports of the lights now for more than a century? A final possibility would simply be that there are no connections, apart from the coincidental appearances of the lights shortly after the publication of Verne’s book, which borrowed from the lingering interest in prospective airships seen in America in the 1890s (although it should be noted that a similar rash of sightings occurred in Britain in 1909, Verne’s novel was published in France three years before this, and thus couldn’t have been inspired by the sightings of “Scareships” over Europe).
Some of the similarities between these late-19th and early-20th century oddities are certainly difficult to ignore. Ultimately, they could be suggestive of the cultural influence one of the most renowned early science fiction novelists had on the development of a famous folk tradition of “ghost lights” in the American southeast.

If there was one person on Earth who would have definitive knowledge of extraterrestrials, the leading candidate would be an astronaut who has spent time in space. Second choice might be the head of NASA, who has talked to these astronauts and seen their reports. Third would probably be someone who has read the full classified Pentagon report on UFOs, not just the public summary. There’s one person who fits in all three categories – Bill Nelson, the former astronaut who is currently the new head of NASA and just finished reading the classified Pentagon report. So, what does he have to say about ETs?
“People are hungry to know. And of course, ever since ‘Star Trek,’ you know people are yearning to find out what’s out there in the cosmos. Are we alone? Personally, I don’t think we are. The universe is so big, it’s 13 and a half billion years ago is when the universe started. That’s pretty big.”
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson
What about the UAPs, Bill. Are these Romulan warships or Klingon battle cruisers? Are they shuttlecrafts from a cloaked mothership? Scouts? What did the classified version of the Pentagon report really say about them?
“The report basically says what we thought. We don’t know the answer to what those Navy pilots saw but they know that they know something. They tracked it and locked their radar on to it. It moved quickly from one location to another.”
In an interview with CNN (watch it here), Nelson unfortunately doesn’t sound the one person on Earth with the experience and the exposure to answer those critical questions. Instead, he verbally agrees with the limited 9-pafe summary released to the public, although he does add some NASA-specific observations about whether it might be an alien adversary.
“We don’t think so [that it is an adversary], but when it comes to universe, remember the universe is so large, we have a program in NASA called the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. But thus far, we don’t have any receipt communication from something that’s intelligent.”
Not surprisingly, he hopes they’re not owned by a foreign adversary.
“… I talked to the Navy pilots, when we were briefed in the Senate Armed Services Committee, and my feeling is that there is clearly something there. It may not necessarily be an extraterrestrial, but if it is a technology that some of our adversaries have, then we better be concerned.”
He also says the public needs to be patient. NASA scientists are analyzing the data in an attempt to explain them scientifically, and he’s awaiting their report. He also plugs the upcoming launch of the James Webb telescope in November, which will “peer back in time, almost to the beginning and additional information will find more planets.”
Associate NASA Administrator Robert Cabana, Administrator Bill Nelson and former NASA Deputy Director Lori Garver in an early photo front of NASA’s first space-bound Orion capsule.
Sigh. Despite his top position at NASA, his time in space and with other astronauts, his access to classified information … he sounds like he’s still in the mode of his other previous job – U.S. senator from Florida.
Will anyone step forward with additional information on those 143 unexplained UAP sightings by the military, or the UAP sightings by other countries, or the hundreds (or more) of other non-military sightings the government must have in its files? Are the sightings really not ours nor of other countries? How much longer will frustrated pilots continue to report on them with no answers? How much longer before there’s a confrontation? Why hasn’t there been one yet?
We want to believe … we just don’t yet know WHO to believe.

“Interstellar vehicles” visited Earth: ancient manuscripts confirm it
“Interstellar vehicles” visited Earth: ancient manuscripts confirm it
The history of mankind keeps many secrets hidden for millennia. It is possible that the Earth was visited by interstellar vehicles from other worlds.
There are ancient manuscripts , possibly written for some purpose . The truth is that humanity will always be oriented to discover its true origin. And the story tells of interstellar vehicles , beings from other worlds, and many other events that orthodox historians wish to eliminate.
In these ancient texts mention is made of exotic technologies, such as antigravity . Whose control came from the human mind.
For many, civilizations such as the Sumerian or Egyptian are considered those that would have the greatest relevance in terms of the evolution of the Earth .
However, ancient India keeps ancient texts with a unique and surprising knowledge.
The oldest history of mankind?
One of the broadest histories of society is found in ancient India, and its texts known as the Vedas considered the greatest ancient manuscripts of mankind.
Among some of the particularities found in these texts is the mention of flying ships that traveled the Earth 6000 years ago .
These Vedic Sanskrit texts constitute the oldest link in Hinduism in terms of Sanskrit literature and writing.
In the book, Vaimanika Shastra or “Science of Aeronautics” are descriptions of interstellar vehicles , whose control was the mind through. A technology of ancient cultures, now defunct.
Mention is also made of antigravity or levitation as technologies used in the past.
Interstellar vehicles in ancient times
For some scholars the sacred text Vaimanika Shastra can be considered as a guide for space, interstellar and space travel
V. Raghavam, writer of more than 120 books and 1,200 articles , which credited him with the Sahitya Akademi Prize for Sanskrit in 1966, was commissioned to interpret those spoken by Vaimanika Shastra.
Dr. V. Raghavam interpreted that thousands of years ago alien beings visited our ancestors. In the same way, human beings inhabited other planets .
Other scholars and authors agree with Raghavan, that evidence of various types of written technologies can be found in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
For the professor of aeronautics at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, Dr. AV Krishna Murty, what has been said is totally true.
Stating that “ancient Indian Vedas and other texts describe aeronautics, flying machines, spaceships and ancient astronauts.”
It is worth mentioning that, although the Hindu Vedas is not the only text that makes mention of flying ships, it is the most explicit and graphic. So can we say that the Earth was visited by the Ancient Astronauts?
The SLS moon rocket for Artemis 1 is all stacked up.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA is one step closer to the moon. The space agency's next megarocket, the Space Launch System (SLS) is coming together ahead of its first planned launch later this year.
The agency celebrated the milestone, which marked the first time that all of the rocket's components were in the same place and the first time a rocket bound for deep space was in the VAB since the end of the Apollo era.
After its arrival, the core stage spent the next few weeks in the transfer aisle of the VAB before it was hoisted on top of the mobile launch platform to join the two solid rocket boosters that are already stacked in High Bay 3.
"This is the first time that the complete flight unit has come together," Sean Arrieta of NASA's Exploration Ground Systems told Space.com in a recent interview. "We're all really excited."
This summer, the agency's new Orion spacecraft will be mated with the SLS and prepared to blast off on an uncrewed test flight around the moon later this year as part of the Artemis 1 mission. If all goes as planned, agency officials said that the flight could take place as early as November.
The core stage is the backbone of the rocket, which stands 212 feet (65 meters) tall. Workers used a 325-ton crane to hoist the core stage into the air, transferring it to a nearby high bay. From there, it was stacked on top of its mobile launch platform, and in between two 177-foot-tall (54 m) solid rocket boosters.
Built by Northrop Grumman, the boosters are longer versions of the solid rocket motors that once powered the agency's fleet of space shuttles. In fact, each of the five segments flew on multiple space shuttle missions before being refurbished for the SLS program.
The successful stacking of the core stage is just the start of a process to fully assemble the rocket ahead of launch. If all goes as planned, we could see a complete launch system, with Orion spacecraft perched on top, by August.
NASA would be on track to move the 322-foot-tall (98-meter) rocket to pad 39B for preflight testing in September or October. At that time, the crews would run through launch countdown procedures and mock fueling.
Four RS-25 engines — the same engine that powered the space shuttle — will power SLS, along with an added boost from the twin solid rocket boosters, generating more than 8 million pounds of thrust. NASA puts the engines, which were built by Aerojet Rocketdyne, through their paces earlier this year as part of a series of green run tests.
The testing culminated with a hot fire test at NASA's Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, on March 18, a repeat of an identical test that ended prematurely back in January. Simulating a real launch, the engines were fired up and burned for more than eight minutes while firmly affixed to a test stand.
That was the last major hurdle the craft had to clear ahead of the main event: launch day. NASA is hoping to launch the SLS and Orion crew capsule on an unpiloted test flight around the moon as soon as late November.
The mission, known as Artemis 1, will last more than three weeks and pave the way for Artemis 2, which will carry a four-person crew around the moon in 2023.
Beyond that, the agency plans to start landing astronauts near the lunar south pole with the help of commercially developed lunar landers. In April, NASA selected the first of those landers — a version of SpaceX's Starship — to land the first Artemis crew on the moon.
The rest of the assembly should go fairly quickly, according to NASA, with a November launch on the horizon. The agency says the next steps are to install the launch vehicle stage adaptor (LVSA), followed by the upper stage, known as the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS), which is a hydrogen-fueled upper stage.
After that, the crews will install a structure to simulate the weight of Orion so that more testing can be done before the actual Orion is installed at the end of the summer.
"We're excited to finally have all the hardware here in Florida," Arietta told Space.com after the core stage's arrival. "We've had some challenges along the way, but we are confident we can launch this year."

Portal type “Stargate” discovered near Area 51 thanks to Google Maps
The images captured by Google Maps show some structures or military complex with a kind of “Stargate” device, a short distance from the famous Area 51.
According to UFO researchers, this “Stargate” was built thanks to the ‘ Pegasus Project ‘, where different types of tests were carried out between 1968 and 1976.
Evidence that was basically “to travel in time and space, and possibly through parallel universes.”
Gravitational and magnetic research carried out long ago by UFO researcher Joshua Warren tells us that near Groom Lake, the time would decrease by 20 milliseconds.
Warren is convinced that it is a gravitational anomaly.
Warren himself tells us that in this place there could be a “Stargate” or a “Wormhole” that represents a temporal-gravitational dimension.
This is the effect of time flowing at different speeds in regions of different gravitational potential.
“For example, in the vicinity of a black hole, the slowest time will flow.”
Clearly, Warren was not wrong since this military complex was discovered with the “Stargate device.”
According to some whistleblowers, the Department of Defense developed Stargates or technology for space-time travel more than 40 years ago.
As early as 1967, the United States government allegedly used a facility dedicated to this and built on the basis of Tesla’s quantum access.
This technology has been used to keep the construction of military installations secret, as well as offering political and economic benefits by knowing what the future holds.
Some say the CIA confiscated the documents from the Tesla transporter shortly after his death.
The Dr. Andrew D. Basiago participated in the DARPA Project Pegasus (from 1968 to 1972) which focused on time travel.
He said that the CIA and the US Navy operating Area 51 were actively training groups of US military and students to become the first generation of dimensional explorers.
The “Stargate ring” visible on Google Maps is part of the underground military complex called «Century IV», which is part of Area 51, where work began on the «Aquarium» project in 1990.
The same microbiologist Dan Burisch who worked on Area51 describes a Stargate that is located near the secret base and near Lake Groom.
Dan says that “next to this huge device is a platform with a Portal that allows the object to be thrown into the wormhole to travel to other stars, teleporting people or materials from one place to another instantly.”
This device is also known as ” Looking Glass ” and was used to see the probabilities of future events.
As Burisch states, many wars and catastrophes would have occurred due to these Stargates. According to Burisch, there are fifty Stargates on Earth.
“Today, the human race would be in danger of extinction due to climate change, and the elite could be using these devices to build bases and shelters on other worlds.”
Pentagon's UFO report provides no explanation for majority of sightings
Pentagon's UFO report provides no explanation for majority of sightings
The Pentagon
The Pentagon Friday issued an official report regarding reported sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) by U.S. military pilots, according to BBC News.
Interestingly, the report provides an explanation for only one UFO sighting out of the 144 confirmed cases that have been reported since 2004.
The lone incident the government was able to explain was identified as a sighting of "a large, deflating balloon," the report said.
As far as the remaining 143 cases, the interim report released Friday concluded that officials, 'lack sufficient information... to attribute incidents to specific explanations.'
In this regard, while the government's official analysis does not tout the theory of extra-terrestrial involvement, it also doesn't completely rule out the possibility.
That said, officials provided the public with a series of more likely explanations.
For example, the report insinuated that while some UFO sightings may have been a result of technology used by nations such as China or Russia, others may have occurred due to natural atmospheric phenomena that registered as unidentified objects on radar systems.
In addition to this, the report suggested some incidents might be traced back "to developments and classified programs by US entities."
The information contained in the report was gathered and analyzed by the Pentagon's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, a group created in August of 2020 and tasked with the responsibility of investigating confirmed UFO sightings.
Now that the federal government has released an official analysis of confirmed UFO sightings, the Aerial Phenomena Task Force's next responsibility is to find, "novel ways to increase collection" of reports and gather more information.
The reportal fu says "additionnding" could "further study of the topics laid out in this report."
Obviously this is a terrible idea, but scientists at the top are nonetheless still pressing forward with the latter option, as a recent Vice interview with Mike Garrett details. Garrett—who serves as both the University of Manchester’s inaugural Sir Bernard Lovell chair of astrophysics and as director of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics—has long been hard at work establishing the proper protocols for vetting, announcing, and subsequently dealing any potential first contact scenarios.
“We absolutely have no idea what’s out there, and we have no idea how we’re going to discover the first SETI signal,” Garrett, who is also vice-chair of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) SETI Permanent Committee, reassuringly told everyone during an interview on Motherboard’s The Space Show. Garrett explains that, for news as mind-blowing as potential first contact, experts are well aware that any announcement would need to be based on near-absolute certainty to avoid misinformation and panic... because that will surely prevent both fallouts from occurring.
“There’s a set of protocols that have been agreed on by most of the organizations that are involved in SETI that we should try and follow the rules to make sure that when we do come out with an announcement that we made a detection, we are 99.999 percent sure that it really is something,” said Garrett.
It’s somewhat reassuring to hear that SETI experts have been working on slowing down our inevitable alien enslavement the best ways to communicate peacefully for entirely foreign intelligences, but we’re still putting our money on more well-developed ragtag teams of insurgents... if only because Aaron Eckhart deserves better roles than Battlefield Los Angeles.

The Pentagon has a long history of misleading reports on UFOs. The new paper on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) may be another example, according to the British scientist Roger Shawyer. Looking at their accounts, Shawyer has an explanation which is hinted at, but also concealed by the report.
“I think the UAPs are American,” Shawyer told me.
The report discusses 144 recent sightings by U.S. government personnel, many of them Air Force and Navy pilots and sensor operators. In most cases the UFO was spotted by several means, such as visual contact and radar or infra-red together.
“Most of the UAP reported probably do represent physical objects given that a majority of UAP were registered across multiple sensors,” according to the report.
The report suggests there might be several types of objects, including airborne clutter such as balloons, natural atmospheric phenomena, “USG or U.S. industry developmental programs,” foreign adversary systems and Other.
Some details seemed to turn up repeatedly across the sightings. In particular many seemed to share an unusual type of “advanced propulsion” and could remain motionless against the wind at high altitude, execute high-speed maneuvers, and move at high speed “without discernable means of propulsion.”
In addition, the report states that in some cases “military aircraft systems processed radio frequency (RF) energy associated with UAP sightings.”
Shawyer says that these features are all consistent with the electromagnetic drive, or EmDrive, which he developed, and which, despite considerable controversy and misleading reports of its demise, is still very much under development by DARPA.
Depending on which theory you follow, the EmDrive uses an obscure piece of physics to seemingly generate thrust from a closed system. The results have apparently repeated at independent labs around the world including NASA’s Eagleworks and researchers at Xi’an in China. While existing versions only produce tiny amounts of thrust, comparable to ion drives used on satellites and space probes, Shawyer calculates that a version based on superconductors could drive a high-speed demonstration vehicle.
Skeptics, of course, claim that this is all bunk: that the EmDrive violates the laws of physics, can never generate thrust, and any experimental results to the contrary are lab errors, wishful thinking, or simply fraud. Apparent positive results are met with furious rebuttals, setbacks are hailed as the end of the EmDrive. Suffice to say, the debate continues.
Shawyer claims that EmDrive technology was supplied to Boeing in 2009 (“under the Boeing Purchase Contract No 9CS114H”) and tested successfully. Boeing has declined to comment on its involvement in the project.
Shawyer observes the wording in the UAP report is rather precise, referring to “advanced propulsion.”
“Note the use of the word ‘advanced’, rather than ‘exotic’ or ‘unexplained’,” says Shawyer. “The propulsion demonstrated was not unexpected.”
The EmDrive is able to produce the sort of maneuvers described, without the heat output or noise of a jet engine. The radio output observed is also highly characteristic of the EmDrive.
“In all my experimental work, stray RF [radiofrequency] energy was detectable, and having a field meter to monitor radiation leakage was part of the safety procedures that were mandatory for tests by Boeing,” says Shawyer.
Shawyer is not saying that the UAPs described were U.S.-made craft, simply that their characteristics are consistent with some type of EmDrive. The report even tacitly admits that this is a possibility:
“Some UAP observations could be attributable to developments and classified programs by U.S. entities. We were unable to confirm, however, that these systems accounted for any of the UAP reports we collected.”
“The words ‘we were unable to confirm’ is standard government-speak for a classified subject,” says Shawyer.
Researcher Mike McCulloch of the University of Plymouth, who is heading up the DARPA project, has also noted the similarities between the reports and the drive he is working on.
“Behavior of these UAPs is what you would expect from a quantized inertia horizon drive,” says McCulloch.
In particular he says this type of drive can achieve the sort of sharp acceleration which the UAPs appear to have, which would normally be intolerable for the pilot and electronics inside.
“Inertia is just a push from the quantum vacuum and it can be damped by the use of synthetic horizons,” says McCulloch. “This means a spacecraft can accelerate as much as you want and you will not feel any forces inside.”
Again, McCulloch says that there are plenty of other possible explanations for the sightings, including psy-ops or mind games by someone in the U.S. government.
“I’m not saying that UAPs are real, just that the observations are consistent with QI technology,” says McCulloch.
Exactly why such craft would make fleeting appearances during U.S. military exercises is of course a big question. The report notes that a disproportionate number of them interrupted planned military activities. It might be convenient if the U.S can claim ignorance if such craft appear watching military exercises elsewhere.
As the report notes, there are likely to be several explanations for UAP reports. But the report does appear to leave the door very much open on the possibility of their being of U.S. origin, and being powered by something like an EmDrive.
Keep watching the skies.
UPDATE 30th June:
Shawyer says it is important to note that China has also shown a clear understanding of the EmDrive and the issues of handling the superconducting cavities needed for high-thrust systems. While they started late, it is theoretically possible that China has recently developed vehicles with EmDrive propulsion. This would not explain earlier sightings, which remain puzzling as ever, but it might account for the increased U.S. military concern after decades of seemingly ignoring UFOs
Estimated to be 100–200 kilometers across, the unusual wandering body will make its closest approach to the Sun in 2031.
A giant comet from the outskirts of our Solar System has been discovered in 6 years of data from the Dark Energy Survey. Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein is estimated to be about 1000 times more massive than a typical comet, making it arguably the largest comet discovered in modern times. It has an extremely elongated orbit, journeying inward from the distant Oort Cloud over millions of years. It is the most distant comet to be discovered on its incoming path, giving us years to watch it evolve as it approaches the Sun, though it’s not predicted to become a naked-eye spectacle.
A giant comet has been discovered by two astronomers following a comprehensive search of data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES). The comet, which is estimated to be 100–200 kilometers across, or about 10 times the diameter of most comets, is an icy relic flung out of the Solar System by the migrating giant planets in the early history of the Solar System. This comet is quite unlike any other seen before, and the huge size estimate is based on how much sunlight it reflects.

Pedro Bernardinelli and Gary Bernstein, of the University of Pennsylvania, found the comet — named Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein (with the designation C/2014 UN271) — hidden among data collected by the 570-megapixel Dark Energy Camera (DECam) mounted on the Víctor M. Blanco 4-meter Telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) in Chile. The analysis of data from the Dark Energy Survey is supported by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the DECam science archive is curated by the Community Science and Data Center (CSDC) at NSF’s NOIRLab. CTIO and CSDC are Programs of NOIRLab.
One of the highest-performance, wide-field CCD imagers in the world, DECam was designed specifically for the DES and operated by the DOE and NSF between 2013 and 2019. DECam was funded by the DOE and was built and tested at DOE’s Fermilab. At present DECam is used for programs covering a huge range of science.
DES was tasked with mapping 300 million galaxies across a 5000-square-degree area of the night sky, but during its six years of observations, it also observed many comets and trans-Neptunian objects passing through the surveyed field. A trans-Neptunian object, or TNO, is an icy body that resides in our Solar System beyond the orbit of Neptune.
Bernardinelli and Bernstein used 15–20 million CPU hours at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and Fermilab, employing sophisticated identification and tracking algorithms to identify over 800 individual TNOs from among the more than 16 billion individual sources detected in 80,000 exposures taken as part of the DES. Thirty-two of those detections belonged to one object in particular — C/2014 UN271.
Comets are icy bodies that evaporate as they approach the warmth of the Sun, growing their coma and tails. The DES images of the object in 2014–2018 did not show a typical comet tail, but within a day of the announcement of its discovery via the Minor Planet Center, astronomers using the Las Cumbres Observatory network took fresh images of Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein which revealed that it has grown a coma in the past 3 years, making it officially a comet.
Its current inward journey began at a distance of over 40,000 astronomical units (au) from the Sun — in other words, 40,000 times farther from the Sun than Earth is, or 6 trillion kilometers away (3.7 trillion miles or 0.6 light-years — 1/7 of the distance to the nearest star). For comparison, Pluto is 39 au from the Sun, on average. This means that Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein originated in the Oort Cloud of objects, ejected during the early history of the Solar System. It could be the largest member of the Oort Cloud ever detected, and it is the first comet on an incoming path to be detected so far away.
Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein is currently much closer to the Sun. It was first seen by DES in 2014 at a distance of 29 au (4 billion kilometers or 2.5 billion miles, roughly the distance of Neptune), and as of June 2021, it was 20 au (3 billion kilometers or 1.8 billion miles, the distance of Uranus) from the Sun and currently shines at magnitude 20. The comet’s orbit is perpendicular to the plane of the Solar System and it will reach its closest point to the Sun (known as perihelion) in 2031, when it will be around 11 au away (a bit more than Saturn’s distance from the Sun) — but it will get no closer. Despite the comet’s size, it is currently predicted that skywatchers will require a large amateur telescope to see it, even at its brightest.
“We have the privilege of having discovered perhaps the largest comet ever seen — or at least larger than any well-studied one — and caught it early enough for people to watch it evolve as it approaches and warms up,” said Gary Bernstein. “It has not visited the Solar System in more than 3 million years.”
Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein will be followed intensively by the astronomical community, including with NOIRLab facilities, to understand the composition and origin of this massive relic from the birth of our own planet. Astronomers suspect that there may be many more undiscovered comets of this size waiting in the Oort Cloud far beyond Pluto and the Kuiper Belt. These giant comets are thought to have been scattered to the far reaches of the Solar System by the migration of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune early in their history.
“This is a much needed anchor on the unknown population of large objects in the Oort Cloud and their connection with early migration of the ice/gas giants soon after the Solar System was formed,” said NOIRLab astronomer Tod Lauer.
“These observations demonstrate the value of long-duration survey observations on national facilities like the Blanco telescope,” says Chris Davis, National Science Foundation Program Director for NOIRLab. “Finding huge objects like Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein is crucial to our understanding of the early history of our Solar System.”
It is not yet known how active and bright it will become when it reaches perihelion. However, Bernardinelli says that Vera C. Rubin Observatory, a future Program of NOIRLab, “will continuously measure Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein all the way to its perihelion in 2031, and probably find many, many others like it,” allowing astronomers to characterize objects from the Oort Cloud in much greater detail.
Study Finds That Humans Would Welcome the Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life
Study Finds That Humans Would Welcome the Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life
Article by Gautam Peddada - (collective-evolution.com)
Researchers from Arizona State University have performed studies to find out how we humans will deal with it if we make contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life? Will we be terrified? Will we feel threatened? Will we be able to comprehend it? Will we accept it?
On February 16th, ASU Assistant Professor of Psychology Michael Varnum presented the findings of the most recent study, “How Will We React to the Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life?” at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in Austin, Texas. Varnum’s conclusion? “If we came face to face with life outside of Earth, we would actually be pretty upbeat about it.”
A previous pilot study focused on people’s reaction to the discovery alien microbial life on Mars, the periodic dimming around Tabby’s Star, and other Earth-like exoplanets in a star’s habitable zone that could support life as we know it. The pilot study discovered that the language used to depict these events elicited much more positive than negative feelings.
In a second study, the researchers invited over 500 people to write about their potential reactions to the discovery of alien microbial life ‘considering their individual sentiments as well as those of mankind as a whole’. Again, participants’ replies revealed substantially more positive than negative emotions. “I’d be a little excited about the news,” one participant remarked.
Varnum’s ASU group gave an additional sample of over 500 people split into two groups. Group One participants read a previous article from The New York Times on probable evidence of ancient microbial life on a Mars meteorite. Group Two participants were given another New York Times article about the development of synthetic human-made life in a lab.
The responses were considerably more positive about finding of microbial alien life than they were about developing synthetic life. With regard to other planets hosting life, one participant stated, “It’s an intriguing and fascinating discovery that might be only the beginning.”
Varnum also examined recent media coverage that the interstellar ‘Oumuamua’ asteroid is actually a spacecraft. Here, too, Varnum discovered more positive than negative emotions, implying that humans may react favorably to news of the finding of sentient life elsewhere in the cosmos. “[T]aken together, this implies that if we find out we’re not alone, we’ll take the news rather well.”
As the possibilities of a non-human intellect being present on Earth increase on a daily basis, one critical question must be addressed: How will we deal with it if we make contact? Will we be terrified if we feel threatened? Will we accept it? Will we be able to comprehend it? Or will we dismiss it as just another item to cope with in our increasingly fast-paced world?
Michael Varnum
Researchers from Arizona State University performed a study to try to find out the answer, and the article is titled “How Will We React to the Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life?”
The researchers looked at how language was used in media coverage of previous announcements of this kind, with an emphasis on alien microbial life (Pilot Study). A large online sample was asked to write about their own and humanity’s reaction to a hypothetical announcement of such a discovery, and another large online sample was asked to read and respond to a news article about the discovery of fossilised extraterrestrial microbial life in a Martian meteorite.
“If we came face to face with life outside of Earth, we would actually be pretty upbeat about it,” said Arizona State University Assistant Professor of Psychology Michael Varnum.
Varnum presented the study’s findings on February 16 at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in Austin, Texas.
The pilot study’s articles focused on the 1996 discovery of possibly fossilised extraterrestrial Martian microbes, the 2015 discovery of periodic dimming around Tabby’s Star, thought to indicate the presence of an artificially constructed “Dyson sphere,” and the 2017 discovery of Earth-like exoplanets in a star’s habitable zone. The pilot study discovered that the language used to depict these events elicited much more positive than negative feelings.
In a second study, the researchers invited over 500 people to write about their potential reactions to the discovery of alien microbial life, as well as humanity’s possible reaction. When considering their individual sentiments as well as those of mankind as a whole, participants’ replies revealed substantially more positive than negative emotions.
“I’d be a little excited about the news,” one participant remarked. “Even if it existed in a rudimentary form, it would be fascinating.”
Varnum’s group then gave an additional sample of over 500 people with historical news coverage of scientific breakthroughs and asked them to write about their emotions in another research. Participants were split into two groups. Participants in one group read a previous article from The New York Times on probable evidence of ancient microbial life on a Mars meteorite. The second set of participants wrote a report from the New York Times about the alleged development of synthetic human-made life in a lab.
The scientists discovered evidence of considerably happier than negative emotions in responses to the alleged finding of alien life, and this impact was larger in response to reading about extraterrestrial life than in response to human-made synthetic life.
“This discovery demonstrates that other planets can support life,” one participant stated. “It’s an intriguing and fascinating discovery that might be only the beginning.”
Varnum examined recent media coverage of the potential that the interstellar Oumuamua asteroid is actually a spacecraft in unpublished data given at the conference. Here, too, he discovered evidence of more positive than negative emotions, implying that humans may react favourably to news of the finding of sentient life elsewhere in the cosmos.
According to Varnum, “taken together, this implies that if we find out we’re not alone, we’ll take the news rather well”

Full Pentagon UFO report 'was like sci-fi movie with 14 videos and 70 pages'
The Pentagon finally released its report into Unidentified Aerial Phenomena on June 25, but many believe a bulk of information was removed from the originally-classified document
The Pentagon’s full classified UFO report contains 14 videos in what insiders described as a “sci-fi movie”, researchers have claimed.
After months of speculation, the eagerly-anticipated report into Unidentified Aerial Phenomena was released on Friday, June 25.
The nine-page unclassified document revealed that 143 out of 144 reports of sightings remain unexplained.
Alien technology was neither confirmed or denied as the document simply said more scientific analysis was required.
It follows the release of several baffling videos of UFO encounters by personnel onboard US Navy ships dating back to 2004.
But, according to UFO researcher and Virginia Tech professor Bob McGwier, the full classified document that was shared with Congress and the National Security Council was far more detailed.
“There were 70 pages and 14 videos, they got to see the good stuff,” he explained on Spaced Out Radio.
“There was a full classified report and 14 videos. I know several people who were in the national security council meeting and the best comment I heard was ‘what we had was 40 minutes of science fiction movies, we were all gobsmacked’.
“It’s ridiculously slim. Everything they could redact they did but the committees and the White House – they saw the works.”
PENTAGON UFO REPORT
The comments echo what investigative filmmaker Jeremy Corbell previously told this site of the Pentagon being in possession of plenty more videos of UFO encounters.
And, just days before the report was released, the former head of the Pentagon’s UFO programme also said there were clearer videos yet to be released.
Speaking to Curt Jaimungal on his Theories of Everything podcast on June 23, he said there are “extremely compelling” videos and photographs.
“I’ve said for the record that the three videos that have come out, as interesting as they are, they’re probably the least compelling of the ones that we have,” he said.
“There were some very high very high definition videos in there that when you looked at it you realised, ‘Hey, that’s not one of our craft’.”
The publicly-available Pentagon UFO report placed the sightings in five separate categories: airborne clutter (such as birds or balloons), natural atmospheric phenomena, classified military programs, foreign adversary systems or “other”.
Objects would be placed in the “other” category “pending scientific advances that allowed us to better understand them”.
MUFON CASE : 116566 Albuquerque, New Mexico ( June 28, 2021 )
Mutual UFO Network : MUFON SUBMISSIONS : Long, rectangular bright/white object appearing in video of sunset
Long Description of Sighting Report
I was recording video on iPhone 12 of rain clouds over Sandia Mts. Began filming North direction and slowly panned to West and sundown. Dense, dark clouds over mts then moving to clearing skies towards the West. Sun is seen just above horizon. In reviewing the video I noticed an “object” appearing on the upper right of the screen at 55 seconds into video. As I continued pan the “object” descends, hovers, descends, moves up and down. The video terminates with shot due West at the sinking sun with bright orange sunset clouds. The “object” is now just above the sun. At times the “object” appears shaky - that's me, I think. I had not noticed the “object” while filming but only on reviewing video. I went back to spot on patio where I shot video. Repeated my motions while making the video, looking for anything that may have caused a reflection. Nothing. My house was behind me, no lights on that could account for a reflection. I have attached video file below - I hope. Perhaps this is a video “artifact” and perhaps you can make that determination. Unusual enough I wanted to report it to you.

A corner of the UFO phenomenon that has remained rather spectacular and alluring is that of the UFO crash. By far the most famous of these is the July 1947 crash of some sort of flying object at Roswell, New Mexico, which has gone on to spawn countless conspiracy theories and tales of alien bodies and secret bases in the desert testing out alien technology. Roswell can also arguably be said to lay claim to being the incident that really launched the UFO craze into the public consciousness and put the idea of sinister government UFO research on the map, the name Roswell being nearly synonymous with any purported UFO crash thereafter and a name known by people who don’t even follow the field. The Roswell incident has become by far the most famous UFO crash, becoming a pop cultural icon in the process, and is largely thought to mark the beginning of serious mainstream consideration of mysterious craft coming down from the sky to smash into the earth. Yet, Roswell is not, as many may believe, the first, and there have been supposed mysterious crashes of UFOs and even alien bodies found that predate it by some margin.
One of the earliest UFO crash stories in America happened even before there was even a Roswell at all. In 1884 there was a very bizarre incident that allegedly happened at the tiny town of Max, Nebraska. The town was just a dusty, nondescript speck on the map, with only 914 living there at the time, a place where not much ever happened at all, but on June 6, 1884 all of that would change. On this day a rancher named John W. Ellis and a group of other cowboys were rounding up a herd of cattle when they heard a “terrific whirring noise over their heads” and turned to see “a blazing body falling like a shot to Earth.” Whatever it was hit nearby beyond an embankment, and when they went to investigate they found a strange metallic object embedded in the earth, which had left in its wake a deep gash in the ground. One of the frightened herdsmen, a man named Alf Williamson, was purportedly burned when he drew to close to the object. There was apparently a lot of debris from the mysterious craft lying about as well, and one report in the Nebraska State Journal would say of this:
One piece that looked like the blade of a propeller screw, of a metal of an appearance like brass, about 16 inches wide, three inches thick and three-and-a-half feet long, was picked up by a spade. It would not weigh more than five pounds, but appeared as strong and compact as any known metal. A fragment of a wheel with a milled rim, apparently having had a diameter of seven or eight feet, was also picked up. It seemed to be of the same material and had the same remarkable lightness.
It is a very compelling report, but it happened so long ago and was so little covered in the news at the time that it is impossible to ascertain how real any of the report is or what could have happened to the supposed fragments of the craft. What happened to this craft after that? Are there still pieces of this thing out there somewhere? Who knows? Another very early account of a supposed UFO crash that happened just a few years later even allegedly featured a dead alien pilot. In April of 1897, the small town of Aurora, Texas, was rocked by a rather spectacular event. It was reported that a large, slow-moving aircraft like nothing anyone had ever seen came down from the sky to go smashing into a windmill to send debris scattering everywhere, as well as a dead humanoid creature the townsfolk called the “Martian pilot.” An article in the Dallas Morning News would say of the incident:
Aurora Cemetery “About 6 o’clock this morning the early risers of Aurora were astonished at the sudden appearance of the airship which has been sailing around the country. It was traveling due north and much nearer the earth than before. Evidently some of the machinery was out of order, for it was making a speed of only ten or twelve miles an hour, and gradually settling toward the earth. It sailed over the public square and when it reached the north part of town it collided with the tower of Judge Proctor’s windmill and went into pieces with a terrific explosion, scattering debris over several acres of ground, wrecking the windmill and water tank and destroying the judge’s flower garden. The pilot of the ship is supposed to have been the only one aboard and, while his remains were badly disfigured, enough of the original has been picked up to show that he was not an inhabitant of this world.
The body of the alien was then supposedly given a proper burial at the local cemetery, and it has all become a fixture of local lore, as well as almost legendary in the UFO field. Various people have tried to dig up more information on this, even talking to supposed living relatives of the original witnesses and scouring the cemetery with metal detectors, but the body supposed body has never been found. In 1973, a group called the International UFO Bureau claimed to have located the site of the alien’s grave, but they were denied the proper permits to have it exhumed, leaving it a mystery as to just who or what is buried there. A North Texas State University professor also allegedly unearthed some fragments at the site of where the windmill once stood, which “consisted primarily of iron which did not seem to exhibit magnetic properties,” but it is unknown what happened to these or what they actually were.
One account in later years from 1920 is an account related by a man named Clark Linch, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa. On June 3, 1920, Linch took a break from working on his father’s farm in order to do some fishing at the nearby river. It was 10 AM on a pleasant day, and he planned to go out fishing for just a few hours and then come back to work. As he sat out at the riverside waiting for a fish to bite, he allegedly saw “an egg-shaped object the size of a cream can” come down to smash into the ground about 15 feet away on the bank, where it sat for around 15 minutes before taking off again. He would say of his rather odd encounter:
I wasn’t in any hurry to jump up and run over to it, and I’m glad I didn’t. It might have killed me. Just when I thought about going over to take a closer look at it, it took off without any sound and without turning around. The grass where it hit was pressed down. I didn’t know what to believe about it at the time, and I still don’t. I’ve concluded that it wasn’t anything from Earth. It was so small; it couldn’t have been occupied by intelligent life as we know it.
He would claim that the object flew off at very slow speeds, with a strange wobbling motion, making him think the thing had crashed and been damaged somehow. When Linch examined where the object had been, he found merely an area of pressed down grass, but no scorch marks or other damage. At the time he kept his strange experience to himself, and it would not be until 1955 that he would tell anyone about what had happened, explaining “You didn’t talk about flying saucers in 1920.” Despite decades having passed, he still vividly remembered the incident, and knew the date because it was his birthday and the year he got married. What did he see out there at that riverside?
Even more spectacular is another report of a UFO crash complete with alien bodies and a government cover-up that predates Roswell by 6 years. The account comes from the book UFO Crash / Retrievals: The Inner Sanctum, by UFO researcher Leo Stringfield. He claimed that he had received a letter from a woman named Charlette Mann, who had a very strange story to tell. She claimed that in 1984 her grandmother on her deathbed had told her about an incident experienced by her grandfather, a Reverend William Huffman, who had told her of having been involved with being called to bless alien bodies in the wake of a UFO crash outside of Cape Girardeau, Missouri in the spring of 1941. Huffman told her that he had been brought to the crash site thinking he was going to an airplane crash and that he would be saying last rights to human victims, but as soon as he arrived, it was immediately clear that this was no normal aircraft and these were not human victims, but rather a spaceship and several small, hairless beings. Charlette would explain of what had happened to her grandfather:
Upon arrival it was a very different situation. It was not a conventional aircraft, as we know it. He described it as a saucer that was metallic in color, no seams, did not look like anything he had seen. It had been broken open in one portion, and so he could walk up and see that. In looking in he saw a small metal chair, gauges and dials and things he had never seen. However, what impressed him most was around the inside there were inscriptions and writings, which he said he did not recognize, but were similar to Egyptian hieroglyphics. There were 3 entities, or non-human people, lying on the ground. Two were just outside the saucer, and a third one was further out. His understanding was that perhaps that third one was not dead on impact.
It was hard for him to tell if they had on suits or if it was their skin, but they were covered head to foot in what looked like wrinkled aluminum foil. He could see no hair on their bodies and they had no ears. They were small framed like a child, about 4 feet tall, but had larger heads and longer arms. Their faces had large, oval-shaped eyes, no noses, just holes and no lips, just small slits for mouths. There had been mention of a ball of fire, yet there was fire around the crash site, but none of the entities had been burned and so father did pray over them, giving them last rites. There were many people there, fire people, photographers, and so they lifted up one, and two men on either side stood him up and they stretched his arms out, they had him up under the armpits and out here.
When Huffman had finished his blessings and his duty, he was then told in no uncertain terms to say nothing of what he had seen there, but he had eventually told his wife. Charlette also claimed that her grandfather had secretly kept a picture from the scene of the crash, which allegedly showed one of the dead alien bodies being held up by two military men. She had been shown this picture by her father, who had gotten it from her grandfather, and indeed she claimed that this was the reason she had pushed her grandmother to tell her the truth of what had happened that day. Charlette would say of the creature in the mysterious photograph:
As I recall from the picture I saw, he was about 4 feet tall, appeared to have no bone structure, soft looking. He had a suit on, or we assume it was a suit, it could have been his skin, and what looked like crinkled, soft aluminum foil. I recall it had very long hands, very long fingers, and I think there were three but I cannot swear to that.
It is unclear what happened to this picture, or whether it ever even existed or not, and indeed the whole account is a bit murky and difficult to get to the facts. Several people related to Charlette, as well as the living brother of the Cape Girardeau County sheriff in 1941, Clarance R. Schade have corroborated these events, and Charlette Mann has been called a very sincere and trustworthy person by those who have interviewed her since, but UFO researchers who have visited the area and dug for more information have failed to uncover much more information on the case. It is largely known from Stringfield’s book and some interviews with Charlette herself, and without further evidence it is hard to say just what exactly happened out there in the spring of 1941.
What can we say about such reports? With no real evidence there is not way to know how real they were, or whether they were merely hoaxes and urban legends and lore. One thing we can say is that they show that the notion of alien spacecraft coming down to crash into the earth did not begin with Roswell, and that this sort of report has been going on for some time. Whether it is aliens, tall tales, or some explainable phenomena, such reports certainly capture the attention, and serve as strange historical oddities that have remained elusive to our understanding.
