Dark Conspiracies and Occult Supernatural Mysteries of the Third Reich
Dark Conspiracies and Occult Supernatural Mysteries of the Third Reich
There are many mysteries and conspiracies surrounding the Third Reich, most of which are relatively well-known, such things as whether high-ranking Third Reich officials, perhaps even Adolf Hitler himself, escaped war-torn Europe to South America, where they lived under assumed identities, or claims that the regime were only days, maybe even hours away from launching the grimly anticipated “Wonder Weapon” that would obliterate London or New York and so turn the war in their favor. Perhaps lesser-known is the intense interest many high-ranking members of the Third Reich, including Hitler, had in the Occult and what an influence this interest had on multiple aspects of the regime, its missions, and its perceived destiny.
A good place to start with all of this would be with the Vril Society, established by Maria Orsic following her claims of receiving telepathic messages from extraterrestrials, and the influence it had on the Third Reich. The Vril Society was a secret network that was born out of the esoteric Thule Society, and according to Orsic, these alien communicators once resided in Sumer, with the word “Vri-Il” being a translation of the word, “God-Like!”
What is particularly interesting about the Vril Society, though, is what happened to at least some of its members as the Second World War came to an end. According to some suggestions, as Allied troops descended on Berlin from one direction and the Soviets marched on the city from the other, Orsic sent out a predetermined coded message to Vril members. They were, it is claimed, to meet at a specific (and unknown to us) location where visitors from another world would descend and take them away. Interestingly or not, Orsic and several high-ranking Vril members did seemingly disappear off the face of the planet sometime in the final days of the war in Europe. One such high-ranking Vril member who disappeared was also a high-ranking member of the Third Reich, Martin Borman. Had he fled Europe, perhaps to South America like several other members of the Third Reich following the conflict? Or was he taking elsewhere in the universe along with other Vril members?
It is also worth detailing that not all members of the Vril Society were members of the Third Reich, nor did they share similar political ideologies. However, many members of the Third Reich, particularly among the high-ranking members, had varying levels of interest in the Occult. Going further still, many of these high-ranking Third Reich members had a genuine and extensive interest, and even belief, in the “black arts” and their appropriate secret organizations. It is perhaps further interesting to note that such secret societies were illegal in Germany under Hitler’s Third Reich. Given that many high-ranking members of the Third Reich were involved in such secret societies, including Hitler himself, it would appear that we might question the true reasons for the regime making them illegal. Perhaps such moves were in order to keep any potential powers and influence from such societies and the knowledge they contained within their ranks alone.
Whatever the truth, that the Third Reich used occult methods and sought assistance from all manner of people from the Occult world is without doubt.
Although we should treat them with caution (at least according to mainstream historians), the claims of Hermann Raushning are of interest to us here, not least that Hitler was very likely “possessed” by a dark and supernatural force, perhaps even the Devil himself. Moreover, at least according to Raushcning, Hitler himself was in a state of perpetual fear of this ominous, otherworldly entity. According to Rauschning’s book Hitler Speaks, Hitler was very likely a “medium” who was seemingly “possessed by forces outside of himself – demonical forces” evident in his powerful speeches during which he would take on “supernatural powers” before “falling back into mediocrity” immediately after. It was likely that Hitler, perhaps very much like the Third Reich in general, was a “vehicle” used by these dark entities to achieve their own unknown agenda.
Even more intriguing and, indeed, unsettling are the claims that Hitler suffered from recurring night terrors for years during his time leading the Third Reich, intense nightmares from which he would often awake screaming in sheer fright. One particular account of these night terrors, according to Rauschning, came from a close aid to the Fuhrer, who rushed into Hitler’s quarters one evening after hearing him wake screaming in terror. According to the aide, Hitler asked him, “What will the social order of the future be like? Comrade, I will tell you. There will be a class of overlords. After that, the rank and file of the party members in hierarchical order. And then the great mass of anonymous followers!” A distressed and unsettled Hitler then stated “…and over and above all these will reign a new and exalted nobility of whom I cannot speak. But of all these plans the militant members will know nothing. The ‘new man’ is living among us now. He is here. I have seen the new man. He is intrepid and cruel. I was afraid of him!”
Just what Hitler might have meant by this, if indeed the account is accurate and true, is very much open to debate by some. Some people, for example, have offered that this was simply a moment of candidness and even clarity on the state of society. Others, though, suggest Hitler was being much more literal and was speaking of some kind of dark, elite overlord working out of the shadows, one who quite possibly was something more than human. Perhaps this “new man” was the entity who some people, Raucshning included, believed took possession of Hitler at key moments in his climb to power, not least during his speeches where his masterful oratory skills were on show for all the world to see, even those who profoundly disagreed with the message and content of such speeches.
While many people dismiss Rauschning’s claims as nothing but outlandish nonsense, the fact is that he is not alone in making such statements about the leader of the Third Reich. In his book Hitler, A Study in Tyranny, Alan Bullock stated that it was clear that Hitler had the “power to bewitch an audience”, controlling them with the same power of the “occult arts of the African Medicine-man or the Asiatic Shaman!” Similarly to Rauschning, Bullock stated that Hitler was more like a “medium” or a “hypnotist!”
Theosophist Alice Bailey made similar claims about Hitler, claiming that during the Second World War, he was in the possession of a “dark force!” In the years since her claims, her followers have seemingly progressed her ideas further, stating that not just Hitler but several other prominent leaders of the time were possessed by similar dark forces as part of an attack by evil entities against humanity.
In the book The Young Hitler I Knew – The Memoirs of Hitler’s Childhood Friend, August Kubizek recalled a conversation he had with Hitler when he was only 17 years old. During this conversation, Hitler begins speaking of his desire and determination to restore Germany to its once powerful position on the world stage. As he did so, Kubizek recalled how it appeared “as if another being spoke out of his body,” adding that it “moved him as much as it moved me!”
Without a doubt, one of the most unnerving of these claims about possible possession of Hitler and alleged dealings with supernatural entities are those made by the Fuher’s mentor as a young man, Dietrich Eckhart, who wrote of such things in a letter to a like-minded friend as far back as 1923. According to the letter, detailed in the book Occult Reich by James Herbert Brennan, Eckhart wrote, “Follow Hitler! He will dance, but it is I who have called the tune. We have given him the means of communication with Them!” Who, we might ask, were “Them”, and what kind of communication was Eckhart referring to?
Whatever the truth, it wasn’t merely the occult that these high-ranking members of the Third Reich were interested in, but esoterism and ancient relics – and not just interested, many were obsessed with such matters. In fact, these high-ranking Third Reich members were so obsessed with such ancient relics – including the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant – that they embarked on highly organized searches for them around the planet in the run-up to and during the Second World War. Moreover, it is safe to say that one of the main forces behind this search for ancient relics by the Third Reich was Heinrich Himmler.
Himmler was instrumental in organizing and founding the Ahnenerbe Institute, an educational organization set up to study, officially, at least, German ancestral heritage. However, it has become the conclusion of several researchers that the real reason for this was to search not only for relics from antiquity but to see if there were any connections to, or evidence of, an extraterrestrial race that quite possibly seeded humanity in the distant past. Even more remarkable, the legendary lost land of Atlantis was also said to be on Himmler and the Third Reich’s radar, as well as entrances to the Inner Earth. At least according to some researchers, not only did Himmler believe that Atlantis at one time existed, but that survivors from the lost world had ventured north into Europe, and eventually Germany, as opposed to Egypt as many other researchers have put forward, with Himmler also insisting that the original Germanic people were “of Atlantean heritage!” Needless to say, it doesn’t take long to see what Himmler was digging at, and being a master of propaganda, we might ask whether Himmler genuinely believed in Atlantean heritage or whether he was looking to manipulate (potential) history to suit his, and the Third Reich’s, dark ideology and desires.
Whatever the truth, Himmler, with the backing of the Third Reich, of course, as well as with assistance from the Vril Society, embarked on archeological expeditions all over the world, including locations in France, Scotland, and the Caucasus Mountains (which we shall return to shortly), as well as places further afield in North Africa, Tibet, India, and multiple other locations in the Far East. In fact, there was a very specific reason for the Third Reich archaeological missions to India and the Far East – the search for ancient Sanskrit texts. And much like their seemingly twisted interpretations of Atlantis, it was the Third Reich’s belief – at least those of high-ranking stature – that these texts would reveal evidence of a “superior” race of extraterrestrials who ruled the country in antiquity and even set up “a caste system” to ensure obedience. We should note that while most reject Himmler’s interpretation of these Sanskrit texts, many do concede that parts of these ancient writings do appear to document some kind of battle between highly advanced powers in the Indus Valley region in the distant past.
While alleged searches for the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail are intriguing enough, without a doubt, one of the most thought-provoking expeditions of the Third Reich is their apparent search for the Biblical Noah’s Ark. In the book Keep Out: Top Secret Places Governments Don’t Want You To Know About, researcher and author, Nick Redfern, using information contained in the files of an MI6 document from 1948, tells of an apparent search for, and perhaps, at least according to apparent rumors of the time, even the discovery of the ancient vessel by the Third Reich. According to the files, “German military personnel were engaged in flying a spy balloon over Mount Ararat” in the final months of the war. Of course, legend states (although not everyone agrees) that if Noah’s Ark did exist, it came to rest on Mount Ararat. While it is not known whether the military unit was indeed successful in recovering the vessel, the intelligence files confirm their instructions were to do so if they did indeed locate it.
It is worth mentioning here, if only briefly, another of Redfern’s accounts concerning Noah’s Ark, this one concerning the United States military, which is relayed in Redfern’s book The Pyramids and the Pentagon: The Government’s Secret Pursuit of Mystical Relics, Ancient Astronauts, and Lost Civilizations. Not only did the search take place only several years after the mission of the German military, it took place in the same region. According to the account, in June 1949, the United States Air Force carried out a mission to photograph an apparent build-up of Soviet troops close to American military facilities. Part of the route of this apparent reconnaissance mission took them exactly over the same flight path of the German balloon mission over Mount Ararat. And this time, unlike the documentation of the German mission, it is clear that the United States Air Force personnel saw something quite profound.
According to the files on the encounter, as the crew looked down on Mount Ararat, they could all clearly see what appeared to be an “intelligently designed craft of some sort.” To begin with, the crew thought they were looking at the wing of a downed airplane. However, after flying over the location several times, they began to see that the dimensions were almost identical to those given for Noah’s Ark. Of even more interest, in the book Strange Secrets: Real Government Files on the Unknown, Redfern offers that not only had the United States military located the Ark, but the remains were “spirited away to classified military and governmental installations and institutions in the USA!”
Whatever the truth might be, we should perhaps ask if the Americans’ interest in the region and the fact the mission occurred only months after the MI6 document was issued was just a coincidence. Or could it be possible that some kind of information sharing took place? Perhaps the Americans learned of the alleged location of Noah’s Ark following Operation Paperclip, which saw many German and Third Reich scientists and engineers discreetly transported to the United States to bring their expertise to the Americans. Whatever the truth, the suggestions are more than intriguing.
While it might be easy to dismiss these searches as misguided, and certainly not ones that bore any fruit, we should note that the Third Reich plundered much of Europe during the Second World War, looting thousands of paintings, sculptures, and other items of value and transporting them back to Germany. While a great many of these were recovered following the end of the conflict, many remain missing. Might we consider, while perhaps unlikely, that such items as the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail, unknown Sanskrit texts, or even ancient relics from other worlds may have indeed been recovered by the Third Reich and sit somewhere in unknown locations, hidden away with other priceless pieces of art?
While the claims should be treated with extreme caution, a pair of discoveries in the Caucasus Mountains that stretch between Europe and Asia from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea came to light in 2016 and could be of interest to us here. It appears the first discovery of a bizarre misshapen “horned” skull (some sources indicate two skulls were discovered) was made in the summer of 2014 by a team of researchers led by Russian ethnographer Vladimir Melikov in a cave near Mount Bolshoi Thach in Russia in the Adygea region of the mountain range. Not only did the skull have a horned appearance, which led some who witnessed it to describe it as demonic-looking, but tests on it suggested it belonged to a “bipedal species unknown to science!”
Melikov, who is also an experienced cryptozoologist, offered that he believed the skull belonged to “an alien species that visited Earth in the past!” He further stated that the positioning of a “round hole at the bottom of the head” suggested heavily that the creature “moved on two legs!” Moreover, they noted that there was a strange “absence of cranial vault and jaws” and that the eyes appeared “unusually large” with markings above each eye that suggested the presence of horns. Were these really the remains of an ancient alien entity?
Then, around two years later, things turned even stranger.
In the summer of 2016, Melikov was approached by a local hermit who resided in the woodland around Mount Bolshoi Thach. This mysterious local handed Melikov a briefcase covered with Third Reich symbols and containing a map of the entire Adygea region from 1941. The hermit claimed that he had found the briefcase purposely hidden away only a short distance from where Melikov had discovered the strange misshapen skulls.
Melikov recognized the insignia on the briefcase as not only belonging to the Third Reich but more specifically to the Ahnenerbe organization we highlighted earlier. As we have already mentioned, some researchers believe that one of the unofficial missions of the group was to seek entrances to the Inner Earth said to be inhabited by an ancient extraterrestrial race. Was this discovery, combined with the alleged alien skull, proof of this? The contents of the briefcase brought further revelations - a very precise and accurate map of the region and a ring that confirmed the briefcase likely belonged to a high-ranking member of the Third Reich.
Only a short time before Melikov came into possession of the briefcase, another almost identical briefcase was discovered in the region, this time on Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe. The briefcase also contained documents, as well as several Third Reich uniforms, and the ring indicated a high-ranking member. Whether these discoveries are genuine items or part of some kind of elaborate hoax remains a point of debate for some. There are, though, other reasons to believe that the Third Reich, at least some of their high-ranking members, were genuinely looking to make contact with some kind of extraterrestrial or supernatural force, perhaps one that resided deep inside the Earth.
Ivan Bormotov, a Professor of Economics at Maikop State Technical University, claims that the Third Reich was sending active “surveillance expeditions” into the Caucasus Mountain region, with a specific focus on the Adygea region. Perhaps as a caveat of sorts, though, Bormotov also offered that he believed that the regime very likely didn’t quite know what they were searching for. Others, though, believe they were more than certain.
Here, it is worth briefly highlighting the Lake Ritsa Project, a project that was set in motion several years before the start of the Second World War in 1936 when the Third Reich and the Soviet regime were on friendly terms. In an effort to demonstrate these friendly terms the two nations were on, the Third Regime began a tunneling project that would connect the coast of the Black Sea to Lake Ritsa in what is modern-day Georgia in the Caucasus region. Once complete, the Ritsa Nature Reserve would be established with infrastructure in place to draw water from the reserve. Rather than merely looking to demonstrate the friendly terms of their relationship, though, some researchers have put forward that it was the water itself that the Third Reich was interested in.
According to some, the water in this region was made from a “special composition” that was perfect to make “synthetic blood plasma!” According to those who buy into these suggestions, this mysterious liquid was labeled “living water” by the Third Reich members of the project, and gallons of it were systematically siphoned into “silver containers” before being moved – by submarine, boat, and plane – to an undisclosed location in Germany. Further, according to the conspiracy, Third Reich scientists would use periston as a substitute blood liquid, “an oxidation production of adrenaline” which allowed them to manufacture this synthetic blood plasma on an “industrial scale!” As an ominous afterward to this conspiracy, it is claimed that the high-ranking specialist engineers who oversaw the project all died when their vehicle “plunged into a ravine” shortly after the tunnel’s completion. Make of that what you will.
While the notion of the Third Reich genuinely seeking entrances to the Inner Earth – to establish contact with a supposed ancient alien race, no less – is outlandish and even preposterous to some, there are other claims of Third Reich missions to achieve exactly that. Perhaps one of the most intriguing occurred in the immediate aftermath of the invasion of Poland that, essentially, sparked the Second World War. The events were related in the book The Jordanow Mystery by Robert K. Lesniakiewicz.
According to the account, the main regions around the Beskidy Mountains in Poland – Jordanow and Zakopane – came under the control of the Third Reich around September 6th, 1939, only days after the start of the Second World War. However, instead of simply leaving a German military unit in charge of the region as they had elsewhere, an SS unit took direct control of the area. Moreover, they remained in charge right up until January 1945, when the region was liberated by advancing Soviet troops. This should alert us to the fact that the region was considered important to the regime, something that has not been lost on researchers since the end of the war.
In the early 1990s, Lesniakiewicz spoke to several surviving soldiers from the Polish Homeland Army, units who had evaded capture and resisted German occupation. And these soldiers offered some remarkable information to the author. They claimed that members of the local population were immediately rounded up – especially many of the local peasants – and put to work building specialized bunkers and other facilities in the Beskidy Mountains region. This slave labor force was placed in labor camps when not working and was guarded by SS personnel. Even more remarkable, according to these Polish resistance soldiers, Heinrich Himmler regularly visited the region throughout the war years.
Perhaps part of the reason for the operations in the region was valuable materials, as of April 1940, the first of several uranium oxide mines opened in Jordanow – mines that remained operational until at least November 1944. Furthermore, there were claims that SS troops would test “wonder weapons” in the region, as well as top-secret aircraft, including the V-3 Rocket and an alleged “super-cannon” that fired projectiles called Tausendfussier that were 10 feet long and had a target range of 30 miles. What is also interesting to note is that just to the south of the Beskidy Mountains is Der Riese, the alleged site of Die Glocke, another alleged advanced Third Reich device (that we will explore shortly). Of course, whether any uranium was ever mined in the region – even if it was ever present at all – is open to debate. According to some researchers, the uranium mines were nothing but a cover story, and the real reason was something altogether more remarkable.
According to the former Polish soldiers, as well as reports from some locals at the time, during the SS’s control of the region during the war, Himmler himself often led missions into the mountainous regions around Jordanow. And what’s more, many of the locals believed that the reason for Himmler’s interest was some of the local legends of the region, specifically, that an entrance to the Inner Earth existed on the southwestern slope of Mount Babia Gora, which resides on the border with Slovakia. The entrance to this underground world was called Agharta, and it appeared that many SS missions concentrated on the caves of the area in an attempt to locate it. Whether or not Himmler and the SS managed to find an entrance into the Inner Earth in the Beskidy Mountains remains debatable. His interest in them, however, as speculative as it might be, could stretch back to when he was a young child.
In 1913, Heinrich Himmler was 13 years old and was “on a tour” of Austria-Hungary with his family following a prestigious appointment of his father, Dr. Gebhard Himmler. During this trip, he and his family visited the Zakopane region, and they were there at the same time as Dr. Friedrich Wichtl, an expert in Occult and Masonic practices. Wichtl, at least officially, was in the region to attend a writer’s and artist’s colony near Jordanow; however, his interest in the region was likely due to the legends of an Inner World populated by a “super race” of extraterrestrial beings. And given the same social circles that Dr. Himmler (Heinrich’s father) and Dr. Wichtl likely shared, combined with general social interest in “secret societies” in Germany at the time, it is also likely that the pair would have discussed such matters.
What is also interesting is that five years later, in 1918, Dr. Wichtl wrote a book titled World Freemasonry, World Revolution, World Republic. Heinrich Himmler, now 18 years old, became fascinated with this book, reading it with relish while recovering from a serious illness while training as a military cadet. It is very likely, although not certain, admittedly, that the book had a major influence on Himmler’s world outlook and, perhaps, stimulated an interest in the Beskidy Mountains region and the possibilities of an entrance to the Inner Earth.
The fact is, if the conspiracies are to be believed, the mountains of Poland were far from the only location the Third Reich was looking for entrances into the Inner Earth. Without a doubt, one of the most mysterious and interesting of these are the apparent secret missions in Antarctica, of which an entire volume could be written in their own right, and something we will undoubtedly explore in a future article here at Mysterious Universe. We will just say, though, that the Third Reich had a very real presence in Antarctica before the Second World War even started, a presence some say they maintained until several years after the end of the conflict. The official reasons for such a presence were largely scientific, but numerous conspiracies have surfaced since suggesting that not only were they searching for an entrance to the Inner Earth, but they found one, as well as finding the otherworldly race that resided there. According to some, it is from this race of the Inner Earth that the Third Reich gained much of their technical know-how and advancement.
Before we explore some of the alleged advanced devices and technology Third Reich scientists and engineers were said, at least by some, to have been working on during the years of the Second World War, it is worth turning our attention to an article in the October 1946 edition of Harper’s Magazine which laid bare over “50 tons” of recovered Third Reich documents concerning scientific projects of the regime, as well as what had been learned through Operation Paperclip following the transplantation of Third Reich engineers and scientists to the United States at the war’s end.
The article made for fascinating reading, to say the least. The scale of scientific, technological, and industrial advancement was widespread and connected multiple aspects of Third Reich society and its war machine. Highly efficient ways to freeze and preserve food had been achieved, for example, which not only maintained food supplies for the population but allowed submarines to undertake especially long missions without surfacing. They had also developed infra-red technology, which allowed vehicles to travel at full speed at night, seeing objects “as clear as day up to 200 meters ahead,” as well as giving them the ability to “spot targets two miles away” and allowing German snipers to “pick off a man in total darkness!”
We might ask if this technology was the result of genuine human ingenuity on the part of the scientists and engineers of the Third Reich or if such knowledge came from an intelligence elsewhere. If there is any truth to communication with extraterrestrial races – ones from afar or from the alleged Inner Earth – as well as the recovery and possible utilization of ancient relics and wisdom, we might question just how the Third Reich might have used such technology and knowledge, if indeed they ever did.
As detailed in the book The Occult Connection: Unidentified Flying Objects, Ken Hudnall relays details of an apparent UFO crash in Germany’s Black Forest in 1936 – three years before the start of the Second World War. According to the account, the otherworldly craft came down somewhere in the Black Forest near Frieberg and was quickly recovered by SS troops before being transferred to Wewelsburg Castle, the main headquarters of the Third Reich. The craft was examined by multiple German scientists and engineers before attempts to reverse engineer it were undertaken to use the technology to gain a quick advantage in what the Third Reich knew was the upcoming war in Europe.
While there is considerable doubt as to the authenticity of the account, if there is any truth to it might it explain as to why the Third Reich was so far advanced than almost every military in the world as the Second World War began, and indeed, right up until the fall of Berlin. The claims of the Black Forest UFO crash took a further twist in 2013 when an article appeared online from an anonymous author who claimed that he had come into possession of a pair of field glasses worn by one of the SS officers who was part of the recovery unit on the night of the crash. Using these glasses, the author had managed to channel to the night in question and see the events for himself. He claimed that not only were there survivors from the crash (all of whom were seemingly “shot on sight”), rather than being extraterrestrials from another world, they were human beings from another time – specifically, the future.
Whether some kind of advanced object did crash to Earth in the Black Forest at some time in 1936 remains open to debate. The fact is, though, advancement – across multiple fields – was nothing short of astronomical in the run-up to and during the opening years of the Second World War. Perhaps a good demonstration of this rapid advancement would be to highlight the fact that the German navy had a total of 57 submarines in the late 1930s. During the Second World War, however, that number shot up to 1,163 submarines. Moreover, these subaquatic vessels were the world’s most technologically advanced.
Undoubtedly, some of the most interesting readings regarding the advanced technologies and development of the Third Reich can be found in the separate intelligence files of both the United Kingdom and the United States. What makes the files so interesting is that despite being compiled without the knowledge of the other, both state surprisingly similar details. Both document accounts of people witnessing “flying apparatus resembling British military helmets” during bombing missions over Europe. Both also mention opening fire on these strange aerial vehicles with the barrage seemingly causing no damage whatsoever. One specific encounter can be found in the British intelligence files and features a report from Major R. Holmes. He stated that during a bombing mission on October 14th, 1943, he witnessed several “big bright discs” while flying over Schweinfurt. He also reported opening fire on one of the discs, although his guns failed to inflict any damage. Were these craft genuine vehicles from another world, or might they have been reverse-engineered Third Reich vehicles?
Interestingly or not, one of the top-secret programs of the Third Reich was the Haunebu Disc, a disc-shaped aerial vehicle whose design is almost identical to the many “flying saucers” that were witnessed over the United States and around the world from the late 1940s and early fifties. According to recovered records, the project unfolded in the town of Hauneburg (hence the vehicle’s name), with the aircraft being 25 feet across and seating up to eight pilots. It was said to use electromagnetic fields – essentially “free energy” – as a means of propulsion, as well as early anti-gravity technology, and could reach incredible speeds, it is claimed, of around 3000 miles per hour (although these speeds were said to increase to a blistering 10,000 miles per hour by the early to mid-forties). The vehicle could, however, only operate at very low altitudes, at least initially.
Could it be that the technology and design of this disc-shaped aerial vehicle were based on the alleged recovered craft from the Black Forest several years earlier? Perhaps of equal importance, was the project continued in the United States following many of the scientists and engineers being transported to America as part of Operation Paperclip after the war so they could continue their work for The West in return for, essentially, a new life and identity? If this were the case, we might consider that at least some of the sightings of flying saucers during the early years of the Modern UFO Era were military aircraft based on reverse-engineered technology and constructed, at least in part, by former Third Reich engineers.
It is also worth recalling Maria Orsic and the Vril Society we examined earlier. Of all the intriguing claims she made, one of the most thought-provoking was that she had received telepathic communication from the extraterrestrial race she was in contact with, which contained instructions on how to design and build a spacecraft. Moreover, Orsic claimed that, given their scientific and engineering prowess, she had passed these detailed instructions to members of the Third Reich so such a vehicle could be developed. Could it be that the Haunebu disc was based on those cosmic blueprints? It is certainly worth considering, if only momentarily, especially as records show that the start of the Haunebu project began in 1935, one year before the apparent UFO crash in the Black Forest.
Disc-shaped aerial vehicles, however, were far from the only remarkable project the Third Reich was involved in, at least according to some researchers.
At this point, it is worth turning our attention to one of the most captivating conspiracies of the Third Reich – those of Die Glocke or The Bell. Accounts of Die Glocke first entered the wider public arena in 2000 with the release of the book The Truth About The Wonder Weapon by author and researcher Igor Witkowski, who claimed he had been given access to the documents of SS officer, Jakob Sporrenberg through an anonymous source in the Polish intelligence agencies. However, the one caveat to this arrangement was that while Witkowski was free to read and translate the documents, he wasn’t permitted to make copies of them.
According to the documents, the Die Glocke program took place in Der Riese in Poland near the Czech border, with Witkowski’s research suggesting that The Bell device itself was mostly housed in an underground facility. However, during live experiments, the roof of this underground facility was opened, and the Bell would “float” upwards, having to be prevented from taking off by several thick chains that connected to a concrete structure referred to as The Henge. Interestingly, this concrete structure remained in place at the facility at the time of the book’s release, however, most mainstream researchers and historians suggest that it was merely the remains of some kind of cooling tower as opposed to anything more exotic.
Witkowski’s research further indicated that The Bell was around 15 feet high and nine feet across at its base (its widest point) where Egyptian-style hieroglyphic symbols were present. The exterior of the Bell was made of some kind of hard “heavy” metal. The alleged contents and workings of the interior, however, were a little more remarkable, with the device utilizing anti-gravity propulsion technology. According to the documents translated by Witkowski, inside the device, two cylinders would counter-rotate, while at the same time, a violet substance similar to mercury named Xerum-525 filled the cylinders. This substance was said to be extremely volatile and, as such, was stored in lead-encased thermos flasks a meter high.
It was, though, when the Bell was active when things became most interesting – and deadly. According to the documents, when active, anything – or anyone – within 200 meters of the device would suffer horrific injuries and possibly even death, with five of the original seven scientists who worked on the project losing their lives during these live experiments. It was claimed that any living being within this radius would suffer crystals forming in the tissues of their bodies as well as their blood gelling and separating. Even plant life would be reduced to a dark, brown, greasy substance. Perhaps strangest of all, though, was the “mirror-like” material that lined the inside of the Bell. When active, it was claimed that “visions of the past or future” could be seen in this mirror-like surface. More fascinating still, the device also had the ability to bend space and time. It was – essentially – a time machine. The device disappeared at the end of the war. Some researchers suggest it was somehow transported to South America, possibly Argentina. Others, however, suggest it went forward, to another time.
With Die Glocke in mind, it is also worth our time briefly turning our attention to an alleged similar device housed in the Vatican – the Chronovisor – not least as it has similar workings and is said to have involved the influence and technical knowhow of one the Third Reich’s finest scientific minds and Operation Paperclip transplant, Werhner von Braun. News of this device first appeared in the wider public arena several years after Die Glocke in the 2002 book Le Nouveau Mystere du Vatican (The Vatican’s New Mystery) by Father Francois Brune. Rather amazingly, though, and certainly adding a little to its credibility, an account of The Chronovisor can be found in a 1972 Italian newspaper article titled A Machine That Photographs The Past Has Finally Been Invented! However, it appears the origins of The Chronovisor go back decades, not too long after the alleged disappearance of Die Glocke.
According to the article, an Italian physicist who went on to become a priest in later life, Father Pellegrino Ernetti, began working on The Chronovisor in the early 1950s under the watch of Nobel Prize-winning physicist Enrico Fermi, who would advise Ernetti on “important information” and technical matters. Of particular interest to us here, however, is that Von Braun was also said to have closely advised Ernetti in a similar capacity. Is it possible that The Chronovisor was a second attempt at Die Glocke, perhaps one that was much more stable and that could only photograph the past instead of (if we believe the claims to be accurate) physically traveling elsewhere in time? Given the established communication between the Vatican and certain Third Reich members (if only forced through Mussolini’s regime), it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Vatican and Italian scientists would have had access to Third Reich records during the war, and quite possibly access to the Paperclip scientists after it.
The device itself was relatively small and “composed entirely of precious alloys” that used a screen that was connected to tubes and tuning dials. In a similar way to Die Glocke, The Chronovisor allowed those who utilized it to see visions of the past, as well as the “very near” future. Moreover, rather than merely viewing these events as some kind of magical live stream, the device had the capability to capture images of them. There were also some similarities to Die Glocke in the mechanics of the alleged device.
It was claimed that The Chronovisor used “residual electromagnetic radiation left over by numerous processes” which allowed the device to “detect” frequencies and energies of spacetime and then present them “like a film” to those watching the screen. However, perhaps understandably, Ernetti was frustratingly frugal with details as to the finer workings of the device and refused to disclose its location. He claimed that should a person with malevolent intentions come into possession of The Chronovisor, it would result in the “scariest dictatorship the world has ever seen!” Although speculative, we might ask if this is some kind of vague reference to the technology being rooted in the secret work of the Third Reich scientists and engineers.
Ernetti did, though, reveal some of the times in history he had viewed with the device. He claimed, for example, to have witnessed the founding of Rome in 753 BC, as well as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (as per the Biblical account). Perhaps his most controversial claim, though, was that he had witnessed the “crucifixion of Christ,” during which he had captured a photograph of the face of Jesus while on the cross. The picture was reproduced in the article, and while it is obviously a fake (something Ernetti later admitted, although he insisted his claims of the device were true), there are more reasons to suspect at least some partial truths in The Chronovisor claims.
Here we have to turn our attention to the brutal death of the controversial publisher, Douglas K. DeVorss, who, on September 24th, 1953, was shot at point-blank range in his Los Angeles office by a man claiming he had had an affair with his wife. The shooter was eventually jailed for second-degree murder, with the woman in question strongly denying she had ever been involved with DeVross in any way. At the time of his death, DeVross was preparing to publish the life’s work of Baird T. Spalding, Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East. Spalding himself had passed away only several months earlier at the age of 95 and was an equally controversial character. Spalding had claimed that he had toured India, China, Tibet, and Persia (now modern-day Iran) – all places the Third Reich had an interest in decades later, incidentally – with a “party of 12” between 1894 and 1897 as they learned the wisdom of the “elder brothers” in the Himalayan region. Indeed, it was this tour of the Far East that formed the backbone of Spalding’s work.
However, it also came to light that not only was Spalding penniless at the time of his death but there were no records of him ever having any type of wealth or indeed substantial income, certainly not enough to have traveled so far and so extensively as he claimed. He was soon labeled a fraud and a hoaxer by much of the public, perhaps understandably so. The claims he made in his work, however, were remarkably accurate to the teachings of the elders of the Far East. When we learn of the work he became involved with after his travels, we might find an explanation for this.
Spalding claimed that upon returning to the United States, he formed a partnership with engineer, Charles Steinmetz. The pair embarked on a project to create a device that would be a “Camera of Past Events” – something that could “peer back into time!” Could it be that rather than physically travel to the Far East, he viewed – and learned – such wisdom using this alleged device? Or were his claims of travels to the Far East truthful and accurate, and did he use whatever wisdom and knowledge he learned there to create the “Camera of Past Events?” And, perhaps more importantly to us here, did his work provide the blueprints for The Chronovisor, blueprints that would have seemingly fallen into DeVross’s hands and whose death came suspiciously around the same time work began on the Vatican’s alleged secret device? And perhaps above all else, were former high-ranking Third Reich members involved, albeit indirectly, in obtaining such blueprints and having them developed in Europe in (now) “safe” Italy?
If we quickly return our attention back to Father Ernetti for a moment, he claimed that he wished to provide the world with proof of The Chronovisor’s existence. The Vatican, however, wouldn’t allow such a move, with Ernetti elaborating that “Pope Pius XII forbade us to disclose any details about this device because the machine was very dangerous!” Perhaps one final thing of interest to note is a decree issued by the Vatican in the wake of the claims, stating that “anyone using an instrument of such characteristics (as The Chronovisor) would be excommunicated!” Was this decree issued because of potential ties to Third Reich research and engineering?
As we can see, there are more conspiracies surrounding the Third Reich that stretch in multiple directions, including into the realms of the supernatural, than many of us might think. And while we should stress again that many of these conspiracies should be treated with a cautionary pinch of salt, they are thought-provoking and intriguing nonetheless.
Were high-ranking members of the Third Reich really involved in the paranormal and Occult world more than most people might suspect they were, with many of the underlying drives for their archaeological missions and scientific projects coming from this belief and perhaps even actual contact with otherworldly entities? If that is true, then it changes not only what we know about the mechanisms behind the worst conflict in the last hundred years but also how we must view both our collective history and reality. Ultimately, such claims will likely remain a mystery, barring some kind of sudden release of previously locked away and unknown documents.
Perhaps one final thing to contemplate, we might ask, just how much of the research that was carried out under the Third Reich regime continues today, perhaps in a developed and evolved way, in the United States and other countries of The West? Research, remember, that was grounded in various ways in the Occult, the supernatural, and the Dark Arts. Indeed, are the Dark Arts still dictating the progress of humanity today without us even realizing it?
Project Aquiline was one of the most unusual and complex spying projects during the Cold War. The idea was to create 12 bird-shaped drones powered by nuclear energy that could fly for up to a month. These drones were meant to be robotic spy planes and deliver secret items, but the project was never finished.
The CIA wanted Aquiline to be the first uncrewed system for gathering intelligence. Its goal was to gather information in areas where access was restricted secretly. The drone, designed by McDonnell Douglas (a defense company known for fighter jets), was very different from the company’s usual aircraft.
Aquiline was a small drone meant to be kept as close to bird-like size as possible—five feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and a takeoff weight of 83 pounds—under the constraints of the time’s technology. A silent 3.5-horsepower, four-cycle engine would give the drone a speed of 47 to 80 knots and an endurance of 50 hours and 1,200 miles. Aquiline’s maximum altitude was estimated at 20,000 feet. CIA file: https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/collection/aquiline
Project Aquiline. CIA
Nuclear power was supposed to make Aquiline fly even farther. The CIA suggested adding a system that would use the heat from decaying radioactive materials like plutonium to create electricity. This system, made for deep space missions, would allow the drone to stay in the air for up to 30 days or travel 36,000 miles.
Aquiline was built to carry cameras and spy equipment. It could take photos from a lower height than the U-2 spy plane and collect electronic signals from radios, radar, and other devices for later study.
The CIA described Aquiline as a “small, bird-like surreptitious vehicle with sufficiently small acoustic, visible, and radar cross-section to permit it to operate in the natural physical signal environment of living birds.” Radars and human sentries at sensitive sites would mistake Aquiline for a bird and pay little attention to it.
Aquiline would be launched, controlled, and brought back by mobile teams on the ground. These teams could operate Aquiline from areas near the Soviet Union or China, like Taiwan, Turkey, Norway, or other places, to make sure the drone could fly over enemy land for a longer time.
The small drone would send its data to a modified DC-6 (later switched to a U-2R spy plane) flying nearby. This way, the drone wouldn’t need to carry its data storage, since storage at the time was bulky and heavy, using punch cards, tape, or large hard drives, which would use up too much weight and power.
The concept of the Aquiline includes bird feathers painted on its wing. The drone would have been a very radioactive bird.
The bird drone was supposed to be developed at Area 51, with various documents listing the personnel requirements and what it would take to regularly fly engineers to and from the mysterious base. The program was top secret, with access doled out on a strictly “need-to-know” basis. The program was so secret that it recommended personnel be recruited two years before the first flight to ensure enough personnel could pass the necessary security checks.
In 1969, the CIA agreed with the McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Corporation (MDAC) to start working on technologies for the Aquiline program. In 1970, people were sent to Area 51 to begin flight testing. This testing was planned to end in early 1971 when the contract was finished. It was expected that by then, a functioning Aquiline drone would be ready, and the program would become fully active.
Exact specifications and design details are scarce, but what is known is that Aquiline drones were made to resemble birds and featured a single-tail propeller. Initially, the prototypes were powered by chainsaw motors. In one memo in the CIA’s reading room, the Aquiline drone is referred to as a “high characteristic operating model plane with a lot of expensive gadgetry.”
Sensor systems were embedded in the aircraft’s nose and included optical cameras infrared sensors, and even electronic intelligence packages. The drones were intended to have also been able to drop “black box” sensor systems into hostile territory, as well, so some form of payload-carrying capability must have been included in at least some of the Aquiline designs. Specifically, one of the CIA’s documents states that one of the test drones was designed to carry payloads weighing up to five pounds.
The Aquiline drones were hard to spot during testing, so engineers painted one bright orange to make it easier for a chase plane to see during a test flight. Even with the paint, the chase plane crew still had trouble spotting the drone in the air.
The exact range of the Aquiline drones remains unknown and is redacted in all of the CIA’s declassified documents.
However, one account states that Aquiline was able to fly for 130 miles while obtaining “very high-resolution photography,” while another document states one of the proposed mobile control units would have a range of 1,200 miles. A dedicated satellite was planned to offer a long-distance communications link for Aquiline drones but was never launched.
Aquiline drones had an impressive design, but they had a big problem: they didn’t have landing gear. Instead, they had to land by crashing into nets. This often damaged the drones’ wings and propellers, leading to delays because of constant repairs. Three Aquiline prototypes were destroyed during these landings.
In a personal account hosted on RoadrunnersInternationale.com, a site that preserves “the history of the aviation pioneers and programs that developed the U-2, A-12 ,and YF-12 during the Cold War,” John H. Meierdierck, retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, offers a brief recollection of the Aquiline program as he remembered it, writing:
The vehicle was a six-foot-long plane that had a small pusher prop and looked like an Eagle or Buzzard when it was in the air. It was designed to fly at very low levels along communications lines and intercept their messages. It also had a small television in the nose as an aid to navigation and to photograph targets of opportunity. There were several successful flights some crashes [reason unknown] and some lousy landings.
It’s unclear why Aquiline was canceled. It was meant to be a very complicated program, dealing with issues like stealth, data transfer, and propulsion in a tiny design. Using a nuclear power source would have made it even more complicated, and the technology of the 1960s might not have been enough to handle it.
Aquiline also depended on a trick, and if the Soviets or Chinese discovered it, their anti-aircraft weapons or MiG jets could have easily shot it down. In the end, Aquiline was just an idea held by a few people in the intelligence community.
If the rumors are to be believed, there’s a chance an example or two of Aquiline still exists among the other strange birds caged up in the darkness at Area 51.

Newly declassified bombshell records of an infamous CIA mind control program, MKUltra, reveal how Americans were drugged and tortured more than 60 years ago.
The collection of more than 1,200 pages detail how the CIA used induced sleep, electroshocks and 'psychic driving' on drugged subjects who were psychologically tortured for weeks or months to reprogram their minds.
The subjects included criminals, mental patients and drug addicts, but also Army soldiers and average citizens who were given drugs without their knowledge.
A total of 144 projects were conducted from 1953 to 1964, aimed at developing procedures and drugs that could be used during interrogations, weakening individuals and forcing confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture.
While it has long been said that subjects only included prisoners, mental patients and drug addicts, one report showed that some CIA and Army officials and 'subjects in normal life settings' were 'unwittingly' given LSD over the decade-long experiment.
In a newly unsealed document from 1956, researchers were developing 'an anti-interrogation drug' by testing 'materials capable of producing alterations in the human central nervous system which are reflected as alterations in human behavior.'
A memo about a classified meeting showed that the CIA contemplated the possibility of testing on foreign nationals,' but decided that 'unwitting testing on American citizens must be continued' instead.

Gangster James 'Whitey' Bulger, a former organized crime boss, was used as a test subject in 1957 while an inmate at the Atlanta penitentiary.
He explained he was one of eight convicts in a panic and paranoid state while in MKUltra.
'Total loss of appetite. Hallucinating. The room would change shape. Hours of paranoia and feeling violent,' Bulger penned.
'We experienced horrible periods of living nightmares and even blood coming out of the walls. Guys turning to skeletons in front of me. I saw a camera change into the head of a dog. I felt like I was going insane.'
The National Security Archive (NSA) said in a statement: 'The CIA conducted terrifying experiments using drugs, hypnosis, isolation, sensory deprivation, and other extreme techniques on human subjects, often US citizens, who frequently had no idea what was being done to them or that they were part of a CIA test.
'These records also shed light on an especially dark period in the history of the behavioral sciences in which some of the top physicians in the field conducted research and experiments usually associated with the Nazi doctors who were tried at Nuremberg.'
A total of 20 documents with more than 1,200 pages were declassified on December 23, published by the NSA and ProQuest.
'Despite the Agency's efforts to erase this hidden history, the documents that survived this purge and that have been gathered together here present a compelling and unsettling narrative of the CIA's decades-long effort to discover and test ways to erase and reprogram the human mind,' shared NSA.
Former US Deputy Director of the CIA Allen Dulles ordered the agency to develop mind-controlling drugs to be used against the Soviets during the Cold War.

'We in the West, are somewhat handicapped in brain warfare,' he said.
A memorandum dated November 15, 1954 details how the CIA's Technical Services Section (TSS) requested funding for a project at Georgetown University Hospital that would provide cover for research under the agency's 'biological and chemical warfare program.'
Using a philanthropic organization as a 'cut-out,' the CIA partially funded 'a new research wing' of the hospital (the Gorman Annex) and used part of it to conduct 'Agency-sponsored research in these sensitive fields.'
MKULTRA, the memo states, provided research and development funding 'for highly sensitive projects in certain fields, including covert biological, chemical and radiological warfare' but did not specifically authorize funds to establish cover for these programs.
The program, which ran from 1953 to 1973, performed 144 projects aimed at developing procedures and drugs that could be used during interrogations, weakening individuals and forcing confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture
In 1955, the secret program listed 17 'materials and methods' that the division was working on, including substances that 'promote illogical thinking, would help individuals to endure 'privation, torture and coercion during interrogation' and attempts at 'brain-washing.'
The list also featured substances that would 'produce physical disablement, including paralysis, and others that alter personality structure' or that 'produce 'pure' euphoria with no subsequent let-down.'
A 'knockout pill' was also to be developed, which would be used in 'surreptitious druggings and to produce amnesia, among other things.'
Another declassified document dated June 7, 1956, discusses an MKUltra subproject to be led by Carl Pfeiffer of Emory University who was known to conduct experiments on prisoners.
Pfeiffer was approved to develop 'an anti-interrogation drug' and 'tests in human volunteers.'
The objectives included administering 'large doses of LSD-25 in normal human volunteers.'
In 1955, the secret program listed 17 'materials and methods' that the division was working on, including substances that 'promote illogical thinking, would help individuals to endure 'privation, torture and coercion during interrogation' and attempts at 'brain-washing'
The list also featured substances that would 'produce physical disablement, including paralysis, and others that alter personality structure' or that 'produce 'pure' euphoria with no subsequent let-down'
The document does not specify the amount given, but taking large doses of the drug can induce terrifying hallucinations.
Another point was 'to evaluate the threshold dose levels in humans of a particular natural product to be supplied by [deleted].'
The supplier's name was redacted from the report, but pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly developed a process to streamline the manufacture of LSD in late 1954.
'[The] CIA had [LSD] in abundance thanks to Eli Lilly, which had developed the capacity to produce the drug in 'tonnage quantities' and had agreed to become the agency's supplier,' according to NSA.
The documents also show that the CIA established safehouses in 1956, which were run by narcotics agent George White 'for conducting experiments involving the covert administration of physiologically active materials to unwitting subjects.'
Sidney Gottlieb, a chemist and spymaster who headed the CIA in the 50s and 60s, admitted in the report that activities were 'highly unorthodox nature.'
Because of that 'it [was] 'impossible to require that they provide a receipt for these payments of that they indicate the precise manner in which the funds were spent,' he wrote.
One of the last documents of the program, published in 1963, revealed researchers involved with MKUltra used radiation, electro-shock, various fields of psychology, psychiatry, sociology, and anthropology, graphology, harassment [sic] substances, and paramilitary devices and materials' during the secret initiative.
It focused on drug experiments conducted at CIA safehouses, using suspect criminals as test subjects, but also 'unwitting subjects drawn from all walks of life.'
'It was noted earlier that the capabilities of MKUltra substances to produce disabling or discrediting effects or to increase the effectiveness of interrogation of hostile subjects cannot be established solely through testing on volunteer populations,' it reads.
As of 1960, however, the CIA was unable to develop a knockout pill, truth serum, aphrodisiac or recruitment pill.
Also during that time, the report noted that 25 of the 144 projects 'remained in existence at present' - 1960.
While most of the documents were destroyed in 1973, the US Church Committee chaired by Senator Frank Church opened an investigation into MKUltra in 1975.
'The United States must not adopt the tactics of the enemy. Means are as important as ends,' Frank's 1977 report stated.
'Crises make it tempting to ignore the wise restraints that make men free. But each time we do so, each time the means we use are wrong, our inner strength, the strength which makes us free, is lessened.'
That report found that there were at least six subprojects that involved testing on unwitting subjects and other projects researcher 'drugs, toxins and biologicals in human tissue.'
The then-director of the CIA, Adam Stansfield Turner spoke during the investigation, saying the MKUltra's activities were more than 12 years old following the investigation.
'They in no way represent the current activities or policies of the Central Intelligence Agency,' he added.
The investigation brought MKUltra to light, sparking public outcry and widespread criticism of the CIA's unethical practices.
That led to the establishment of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence which provided ongoing oversight of intelligence agencies.

While scanning the frozen surface of northwestern Greenland this year, NASA scientists stumbled across a "city under the ice" from the paranoid years of the Cold War.
The structure was Camp Century, an abandoned Arctic military research base run by the US between 1959 and 1967 during the Cold War. It was the hub of Project Iceworm, a plan to install a network of nuclear missile launch sites hidden amid the Arctic Ice Sheet that could survive a first strike from the Soviet Union.

Nuclear missiles never made it to the camp, fortunately, because they couldn’t get permission from the Danish government, which still holds sovereignty over Greenland. However, the complex was powered by a nuclear reactor, which left behind alarge amount of radioactive debris, as well as loads of chemical and biological waste.
The site was abandoned in 1967 and left to be covered by Greenland’s perpetual snowfall. This year, however, faint echoes of the buried camp emerged when researchers flew over the Greenland Ice Sheet with a plane that had radar equipment attached to its belly.
“We were looking for the bed of the ice and out pops Camp Century,” Alex Gardner, project leader and cryospheric scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), said in a statement.
“We didn’t know what it was at first,” Gardner added.
It’s estimated that the structures of the military facility are currently at least 30 meters (100 feet) below the snow-covered surface, shallow enough to be picked up by radar-beaming equipment.
Previous airborne surveys of Greenland have detected signals of Camp Century as they passed over the site. However, the latest imagery from April 2024 provides the best view yet.
“In the new data, individual structures in the secret city are visible in a way that they’ve never been seen before,” explained Chad Greene, another cryospheric scientist at JPL.
With warming temperatures melting the planet’s ice sheets, there’s no guarantee the camp’s ruins will remain buried for long. A 2016 study indicated that the ice sheet on top of Camp Century could rapidly deteriorate within 75 years under a "business-as-usual scenario" of fossil fuel abuse.
If that happens, the report said, it would “guarantee the eventual remobilization of physical, chemical, biological, and radiological wastes abandoned at the site.” The researchers went on to suggest that the problem had the potential to spark fiddly political disputes between the Danish government and the US.
It’s uncertain if or when disaster might strike at Camp Century, but research initiatives like the recent project by NASA JPL could help keep tabs on the situation.
“Without detailed knowledge of ice thickness, it is impossible to know how the ice sheets will respond to rapidly warming oceans and atmosphere, greatly limiting our ability to project rates of sea level rise,” noted Gardner.

The history of Russian influence operations targeting the United States is as long and complex as the Cold War itself. From the disinformation campaigns of the Soviet Union to the sophisticated hybrid warfare strategies employed by modern-day Russia, the objective has always been the same: to weaken the United States by sowing discord, mistrust, and division within its society. As the UAP disclosure movement gains momentum, there is a growing concern, never spoken out loud, that some prominent voices within the movement could be unwittingly aiding Russian objectives by amplifying narratives that challenge the U.S. government and its security apparatus.
A Historical Overview of Russian Influence Operations
The Soviet Era: Cold War Disinformation Campaigns
During the Cold War, the Soviet Union engaged in a broad array of disinformation campaigns known as “active measures.” These operations sought to exploit the social, political, and racial divisions within the United States to undermine confidence in American institutions and foster civil unrest. One prominent example is Operation INFEKTION, a campaign initiated by the KGB in the 1980s, which spread the false narrative that the U.S. government had created the HIV/AIDS virus as a biological weapon. This operation was executed through a complex network of media outlets, front organizations, and sympathetic journalists who disseminated the disinformation to both domestic and international audiences.
By carefully planting these narratives in credible media sources, the Soviet Union was able to manipulate public perception and create a cloud of suspicion around U.S. intentions. The long-term goal was not just to tarnish the image of the U.S. but to sow seeds of distrust that could be harvested in times of crisis. Is it possible that a similar strategy is being employed today by subtly influencing narratives around the UAP issue, framing the U.S. government as anuntrustworthy entity that conceals critical information from its citizens, thus undermining public trust.
Post-Soviet Tactics: Adaptation and Expansion in the Digital Age
With the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Russia inherited not only the remnants of its predecessor’s intelligence apparatus but also a wealth of experience in psychological operations. In the 1990s and 2000s, Russia began to adapt these methods to the digital age. This adaptation was evident during the conflict in Chechnya, where Russian operatives used media manipulation and information warfare to control narratives and justify military actions.
The 2016 U.S. presidential election serves as a modern-day case study in Russian influence operations. The Kremlin employed a sophisticated mix of hacking, leaking, and social media manipulation to polarize the American electorate. The Internet Research Agency (IRA), a Russian troll farm, was instrumental in spreading disinformation and inflammatory content through thousands of social media accounts posing as American citizens. The campaign sought to deepen existing divisions, foster distrust in the electoral process, and amplify extreme viewpoints.
Is it now possible that Russian operatives are employing similar tactics by using social media platforms and fringe media outlets to amplify claims made by UAP advocates? Are they creating and promoting content that exaggerates the secrecy surrounding UAPs,positioning the U.S. government as an opaque and oppressive entitythat is actively hiding the truth from its people. By using bots and troll accounts, are they flooding social media with these narratives, creating an illusion of widespread public support and pressuring the government to respond in ways that could be strategically advantageous to Russia?
Modern-Day Hybrid Warfare: Exploiting New Media and Public Figures
Today, Russia’s strategy has evolved into what is often referred to as “hybrid warfare,” which involves a combination of conventional military power, cyber operations, and psychological influence campaigns. This multi-faceted approach allows Russia to exploit a range of vulnerabilities across different domains. The use of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, coupled with the exploitation of fringe media outlets and influential public figures, has allowed Russian operatives to reach and influence millions of Americans directly.
Are Russian influence operations now targeting key figures in the UAP disclosure movement by feeding them information through seemingly credible but ultimately deceptive sources. Is it likely that operatives are creating fake whistleblowers or fabricating leaked documents that appear to confirm government cover-ups. They’ve done similar in the past and if so, these could be fed to trusted intermediaries who then pass them on to UAP advocates like Luis Elizondo or Christopher Mellon, who would amplify these narratives, believing them to be legitimate. This process could effectively weaponize their credibility and influence, making them unwitting agents of disinformation.
The UAP Disclosure Movement: A Potential Target for Manipulation
The UAP disclosure movement, driven by individuals such as Luis Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, Garry Nolan, Hal Puthoff, Eric Davis, Timothy Gallaudet, Jay Stratton, and Karl Nell, and a host of others, collectively seeks greater transparency from the U.S. government regarding its knowledge and research into unidentified aerial phenomena. While their intentions may be rooted in a genuine desire for government accountability and public awareness, they are not immune to the sophisticated manipulation techniques perfected by Russian intelligence.
Undermining Trust in Government and National Security Institutions
One of the central narratives of the UAP disclosure movement is that the U.S. government is withholding critical information from the public. This narrative, while appealing to those seeking transparency, can be strategically exploited to undermine trust in national security institutions. If the movement’s leaders are unwittingly provided with exaggerated or fabricated evidence of government cover-ups, they could, in good faith, present this information to the public. This would create a feedback loop of distrust and paranoia, making it more difficult for government agencies to maintain public confidence in their activities.
For instance, the Russian GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate) could, in fact, be planting a false narrative that Lockheed Martin with help from DARPA has been conducting off-books operations without Congressional oversight to reverse-engineer alien technology. This information, disseminated through fake leaks and false experts, could be passed on to UAP advocates, who would then promote it as another example of government deception. The resulting public outcry could force the government to release sensitive information prematurely, potentially compromising national security operations.
Exacerbating Public Distrust and Division
While promoting the idea that the U.S. government is actively deceiving its citizens, the UAP disclosure movement could unintentionally contribute to the broader societal distrust that Russia seeks to exploit. In a society already polarized along political, social, and economic lines, adding a layer of mistrust regarding the government’s handling of UAPs could be a powerful destabilizing force.
Imagine a scenario where Russian operatives manage to infiltrate online UAP communities and spread rumors that the U.S. government is not only hiding information but actively suppressing witnesses and whistleblowers. This narrative, combined with existing concerns over governmental transparency, could push a segment of the population to adopt an increasingly anti-government stance.
The Risk of Co-opted Narratives and Strategic Deception
There is also the potential for co-opted narratives, where genuine concerns about transparency and accountability are twisted into disinformation campaigns that serve Russian interests. Applying this to the UAP disclosure movement, this could involve the strategic release of disinformation that aligns with the movement’s goals but ultimately serves to distract or mislead the public and policymakers.
For example, Russia may be exploiting the desire for transparency by creating fake rumors that claim collusion between U.S. government officials and private defense contractors to conceal UAP technology. If UAP advocates unknowingly amplify these false rumors, they could inadvertently create a smokescreen that diverts attention from more pressing national security threats, such as foreign espionage or cyberattacks. This strategy of strategic deception could hinder the government’s ability to respond effectively to genuine threats, thereby benefiting adversarial actors.
Vigilance and Awareness in the Pursuit of Truth
The UAP disclosure movement, driven by prominent figures with backgrounds in government and defense, has sparked significant public interest and debate. While the movement’s leaders likely have noble intentions, it is important to consider alternatives to their actions and to remain vigilant against the possibility of their efforts being co-opted or manipulated by foreign actors, including Russia.
Understanding the historical context of Russian influence operations in the United States drives home our need for caution. The UAP movement must ensure that its quest for transparency does not inadvertently contribute to narratives that could undermine national security or public trust in government institutions.
This Declassified CIA Book Reveals That Earth Undergoes Cataclysmic Events Approximately Every 6,500 Years, Leading to the Destruction and Rebirth of Civilizations
This Declassified CIA Book Reveals That Earth Undergoes Cataclysmic Events Approximately Every 6,500 Years, Leading to the Destruction and Rebirth of Civilizations
This declassified CIA document, “The Adam & Eve Story” by Dr. Chan Thomas, reveals that Earth undergoes cataclysmic events approximately every 6,500 years, leading to the destruction and rebirth of civilizations. He suggested that these cataclysms are natural, recurring events that reshape the planet’s surface and human history.
In 1966, Dr. Chan Thomas published a book called The Adam and Eve Story, but it soon disappeared from public access after the CIA classified it. The book talks about big disasters like pole shifts, mass extinctions, and the repeated destruction of advanced civilizations. It stayed mostly hidden until some parts were released years later.
Now, only 57 pages are available, but they are heavily edited, leaving many questions about what the book really says. People are curious about why this book might be considered dangerous and why the CIA wanted to keep it secret.
Dr. Chan Thomas
Dr. Chan Thomas was an American electrical engineer and psychic who authored a hypothesis of global cataclysms involving radical shifts in Earth’s electromagnetic fields that increase the viscosity of the crust, causing rapid continental drift.
This is most notably described in his book “The Adam and Eve Story.” During the 1950s, Dr. Thomas was a project engineer on Bell Aircraft’s RASCAL missile guidance system and Douglas Aircraft’s A4D Skyhawk program, and was later employed in the late 1960s by McDonnell Douglas to work with Robert Wood’s “Advanced Concepts” R&D team, which worked on UFO and other fringe science related projects.
The idea of pole shifts has interested scientists and caused discussions for many years. Charles Hapgood was one of the first to suggest this concept in the mid-1900s. He believed that the Earth’s outer layer could move over the inner layers, making the poles change position.
Hapgood’s theory of “Earth’s crustal displacement” said that these shifts could happen fairly quickly, resulting in major changes in the Earth’s geography and climate. At first, many scientists rejected Hapgood’s ideas, but he gained respect when Albert Einstein showed interest in his work. Even though Hapgood’s theory didn’t become widely accepted, it opened the door for more research on how the Earth’s magnetic poles might change.
Charles Hapgood
Today, we know that the magnetic poles do indeed shift, though typically at a slow rate. However, the possibility of rapid, catastrophic shifts remains a subject of ongoing research.
Dr. Chan Thomas, in his book The Adam and Eve Story, made a scary prediction about sudden pole shifts. He believed these shifts could happen quickly, even in one day, and cause major disasters. He said that these quick changes could lead to huge earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis, resulting in widespread damage. While most scientists are doubtful about such rapid shifts, the idea still captures the interest of researchers and the public.
Throughout Earth’s history, mass extinctions have wiped out many species, changing the course of life on our planet. Some scientists think these extinctions might be connected to pole shifts or other major geological events.
One example often mentioned is the Younger Dryas, a time of sudden cooling about 12,800 years ago. This period saw a big drop in global temperatures, which some believe was caused by a comet impact or a significant pole shift.
These disastrous events have also led to theories about ancient advanced civilizations that may have been destroyed by sudden catastrophes. Supporters of these theories argue that evidence of these lost civilizations can be found in myths and unexplained archaeological sites.
However, mainstream archaeologists are careful and stress the need for more solid evidence before changing our understanding of history.
Flood myths are stories about big floods that are found in many ancient cultures. These tales, which describe floods that destroyed entire civilizations, appear in religious texts, oral traditions, and ancient writings worldwide.
For example, Noah’s Ark in the Bible and the Epic of Gilgamesh from Mesopotamia share many similarities, even though they come from different places and times.
When we compare these myths to known geological events, like the Younger Dryas (a time about 12,800 years ago when the climate changed quickly), we see some interesting connections. The Younger Dryas involved sudden cooling and melting ice, which caused sea levels to rise significantly.
Some researchers think that these big changes in the environment might have inspired the flood stories in various cultures. They believe that ancient people, seeing the destruction from rising waters, passed down these stories to warn others about nature’s power.
Dr. Chan Thomas, in his book The Adam and Eve Story, goes further by saying these flood myths are not just exaggerated tales but are based on real disasters caused by shifts in the Earth’s poles and other catastrophic events. He argues that these myths are his torical records of past disasters that nearly wiped out humanity. According to Thomas, our ancestors created these stories to remember these events and warn future generations about their recurrence.
The idea that advanced civilizations existed before written history fascinates both scholars and enthusiasts. Supporters of this theory point to archaeological evidence, like erosion patterns on the Great Sphinx of Giza and submerged cities off the coasts of Japan and India, suggesting these lost cultures were destroyed by disasters like the floods in ancient myths.
However, this idea is controversial and faces skepticism in the academic world. Many archaeologists and historians believe the evidence for these theories is either misinterpreted or not strong enough. The general view is that human civilization began about 6,000 years ago in Mesopotamia, with no credible evidence of advanced societies before then.
Still, the ongoing debate continues to interest people, and new discoveries sometimes spark discussions. While the concept of ancient advanced civilizations is still on the outskirts of scientific study, it encourages us to rethink what we know about the past and stay open to new evidence.
Dr. Chan Thomas’s predictions in The Adam and Eve Story show a dark future. He warns that a quick shift in the Earth’s poles could happen, causing disastrous events worldwide. He believes this shift could lead to huge earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis, possibly wiping out most of humanity in just a few hours. He thinks this disaster could happen soon, maybe even in our lifetime.
Scientists know that the Earth’s magnetic field is always changing, and the poles can move over time. However, most geophysicists think a sudden and disastrous shift like Dr. Thomas describes is very unlikely.
Right now, we understand that the poles may shift slowly or even reverse over thousands of years, but a quick shift causing a global disaster isn’t supported by current evidence.
If Dr. Thomas’s predictions were to come true, the effects on modern society would be terrible. Our essential systems — like power grids, communication, and transportation — would likely fail. This shift could lead to widespread destruction, chaos, and possibly a return to a dark age for survivors.
Dr. Thomas’s work makes us rethink our view of history. If he’s right about pole shifts and recurring disasters, it means that human civilization is much more fragile and has gone through cycles of rise and fall more than we think.
This view challenges the common belief that human progress is steady and uninterrupted. If disasters happen in cycles, it suggests that advanced civilizations have appeared and disappeared several times in Earth’s history, each time erased by a major event.
This idea changes how we see human history, suggesting that our current civilization is just the latest attempt at creating a lasting society.
Given Dr. Thomas’s theories, we should consider what we can learn for the future. If these disasters really do happen in cycles, it would be wise to prepare and build resilience, so that if another disaster occurs, humanity can survive and rebuild more effectively.
In 1966, the CIA classified The Adam and Eve Story soon after it was published. This decision has led to a lot of speculation about why a book about ancient disasters and pole shifts would catch the attention of a government agency.
One theory is that if people took the book seriously, it could cause a lot of panic. The idea of a coming global disaster, along with the government’s secrecy, might lead to unrest in society.
Another possibility is that the book had information related to secret government research. The author, Dr. Chan Thomas, worked on classified projects at McDonnell Douglas, and some think he knew more than what was publicly shared. The CIA might have been worried about revealing technologies or ideas that could threaten national security.
The “sanitization” of the 57 pages that were later declassified adds to the mystery. A lot of the text is blacked out, making people wonder what was removed and why. Some believe that the missing parts could contain more details about disasters or even government secrets. The exact reason for keeping much of the book hidden is still unclear.

Vragen zonder antwoorden Het universum verbergt veel mysteries.
China’s top-secret spaceplane has released a mysterious object into Earth’s orbit just 372 miles above the surface.
The US Space Force is monitoring the situation, but the purpose of the object ejected on May 24 is unknown.
A Harvard astrophysicist first spotted the object, speculating it could be a subsatellite deployment, or a piece of hardware ejected before the spaceplane ends its mission and deorbits.
The craft - named Shenlong after a spirit dragon from Chinese mythology - launched last December and has since been found to release several objects into orbit with some sending strong signals over North America.
China ’s top-secret spaceplane has released a mysterious object into Earth’s orbit just 372 miles above the surface. The US Space Force is monitoring the situation, but the purpose of the object ejected on May 24 is unknown
The craft launched one day after the US scrubbed the flight of its ‘spy’ plane, which the US Space Force chief said was 'no coincidence.'
'It's probably no coincidence that they're trying to match us in timing and sequence of this,' General Chance Saltzman, Space Force's Chief of Space Operations, said.
And while China’s spaceplane has since fallen under the radar, the mysterious object is raising concerns.
Jonathan McDowell, of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, first spotted the object and shared his findings on X.
‘This object could be a subsatellite deployment, or it could be a piece of hardware ejected prior to end of the mission and deorbit (the spaceplane's first flight did something similar),’ McDowell shared.
‘Will be interesting to see if the plane maneuvers or lands soon.’
China’s spaceplane is currently on its third mission, and US officials have said that its capabilities are somewhat similar to America's X-37B (pictured) that launched on December 29, 2023
'I.e., on higher elevation passes over me, there are no signals, but on ocean-hugging passes to my southwest, all of my observations of the object have occurred.'
Tilley has teamed up with a group in Switzerland that specializes in optical-band space surveillance, and the collaboration has been keeping a close eye on the plane since it launched on December 15.
The launch followed more than two weeks of false starts and delays attributed to poor weather and unspecified technical issues, leading ground crews to roll the spacecraft back to its hangar.
It came two weeks after China's spaceplane launched on its third mission to orbit since 2020.
The US Boeing-built vehicle, roughly the size of a small bus and resembling a miniature space shuttle, is built to deploy various payloads and conduct technology experiments on years-long orbital flights.
The planned duration of the latest X-37B mission was not made public, but it will presumably run until June 2026 or later, given the prevailing pattern of successively longer flights.

CIA scientist Frank Olson, who was part of the CIA’s mind-control project MK-Ultra, fell from his Manhattan hotel room and died on the sidewalk. His death remains one of the most mysterious to this day, as he knew some of the CIA’s darkest secrets. In 1994, his son exhumed his body, searching for evidence of foul play.
Frank Olson was 43 years old when he died on November 28, 1953. He was a scientist, a CIA officer, and one of the few people who knew about the CIA’s Project MK-Ultra. This project focused on mind control experiments, including using LSD to see if it could be used against U.S. enemies. The U.S. feared that the Soviet Union was ahead in developing mind control techniques.
Olson was deeply involved in the project, making him part of an elite group. However, this also made him a security risk if he ever revealed what he knew about the top-secret program.
A week before his death, Olson was unknowingly given LSD during a retreat with CIA and Army colleagues. While others at the meeting were also drugged, Olson had a much stronger reaction. He became anxious, had trouble focusing, and couldn’t sleep. He even forgot how to spell. At some point, he told his wife, “I’ve made a terrible mistake,” though she never learned what he meant.
“My uncle Frank Olson died sometime around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 28, 1953 when he “jumped or fell” from his room on the 13th floor of the Statler Hotel in New York City,” writes Paul Vidich, author of The Coldest Warrior.
Frank Olson was a highly skilled Army scientist who worked at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland, a top-secret U.S. Army facility that researched biological warfare agents. He had gone to New York to see a security-cleared psychiatrist in the company of a CIA escort.
Olson’s sealed casket was delivered to his wife two days after his death. She was advised not to view the body because they said he had severe facial injuries. Olson was buried the next day, and she received a quick pension soon after. For 22 years, that was all the family knew.
In June 1975, new information surfaced. A report by the Rockefeller Commission, which was investigating illegal CIA activities, mentioned an army scientist who was unknowingly given LSD and died after falling from a New York hotel window. The case caught the family’s attention. After checking with the CIA, the Army confirmed that the scientist was Frank Olson. Major newspapers reported the story with headlines like “Suicide Revealed.”
Just 10 days later, the family was invited to the Oval Office, where the president personally apologized for Olson’s death. Within a year, the family received a $750,000 settlement in exchange for releasing all claims against the U.S. government. (Source)
President Ford met privately with the family of Dr. Frank Olson and apologized on behalf of the U.S. Government for the scientist’s suicide after he was secretly given LSD by the CIA. Pictured in the Oval Office are left to right: Nils Olson, Lisa Olson Hayward, Mrs. Frank Olson, The President, Eric Olson, and Gregory Hayward, (Mrs. Olson’s son-in-law).
The questions surrounding Frank Olson’s death could have ended if his sons, Eric and Nils, had accepted the official story. But in 1994, they chose to exhume their father’s body and have a second autopsy done.
James E. Starrs, a professor of law and forensic science, led the investigation. He didn’t find clear evidence of murder, but also didn’t find the “multiple cuts” expected if Olson had crashed through a closed hotel window, as the official story claimed. (Source)
Starrs suggested it’s possible someone could have broken the window afterward to make it look like Olson had jumped. He expressed doubt that someone could jump through a small window in the dark, over obstacles like a radiator and window sill.
Starrs added, “I’m skeptical that anyone could clear a radiator, a 31-inch high window sill, pass through a 3-by-5-foot window opening obscured by a drawn shade, all in the darkness of a hotel room at night.”
Over the years, information has slowly come out about Frank Olson’s work. He was the Acting Chief of the Special Operations Division at Fort Detrick and worked closely with the CIA’s Research and Development team. With his high security clearance, Olson knew about secret projects like “Artichoke,” a mind control program that used harsh interrogation techniques.
Frank Olson was a WWII US Army Chemical Corps captain and later a CIA officer
But why would someone drug a trusted colleague like Olson? That question has remained unanswered for 6 decades.
On November 18, 1953, Olson attended a retreat at a cabin on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. CIA and Army scientists from the technical services and chemical corps divisions were there, according to author Stephen Kinzer. They drank Cointreau that had been secretly spiked with LSD, and 20 minutes later, it was clear they had been drugged. Olson seemed to be more affected than the others. Ten days later, while seeking medical help in New York, he fell from a hotel window in the middle of the night.
The Olson family was later told that the scientists were drugged as part of an experiment. The goal was to see if a scientist, if captured and drugged, would reveal secret information.
This revised narrative shed new light on earlier events. Olson’s rushed burial and the expedited pension approval were meant to stop the family from asking questions. Later, the speedy presidential apology, the $750,000 payment, and their waiver of claims conspired to continue the cover-up.
Frank Olson’s death has become a symbol of our interest in the darkest secrets of the Cold War. It also highlights the questionable powers the CIA gave itself in the name of national security. Even 66 years later, the case remains unclear and still draws a lot of attention.
Errol Morris examined the case in his 2018 Netflix series Wormwood. In 2019, former New York Times reporter Stephen Kinzer also wrote about it in his bestseller Poisoner-In-Chief, a biography of Sidney Gottlieb, Olson’s CIA boss.
Eric Olson never accepted that explanation, however. On August 8, 2002, Eric called reporters to his home to announce that he had reached a new conclusion about what had happened to his father.
“The death of Frank Olson on 28 November 1953 was a murder, not a suicide,” he declared. “Frank Olson did not die because he was an experimental guinea pig who experienced a ‘bad trip’. He died because of concern that he would divulge information concerning a highly classified CIA interrogation program in the early 1950s, and concerning the use of biological weapons.”
Without proof, however, Eric Olson’s suspicions will forever remain just that.
Paul Vidich writes:
Olson’s death remains officially classified as “undetermined,” but all the evidence that has emerged over several decades points toward murder and none of it points away. Like a black hole, existence is proven by evidence that points to existence and not by direct observation. Among the things that have become known:
-Three months before his death Olson spent two weeks with his brother-in-law (my father) reroofing a family cabin in the Adirondacks. My father saw a man who was in a deep moral crisis. He wasn’t suicidal. He was a man who had begun reading the Bible to find answers to disturbing questions.
-On Feb. 23, 1954 (three months after Olson’s death), the CIA and the Department of Justice signed a Memorandum of Understanding that allowed the CIA to withhold information relating to criminal activity if disclosure compromised intelligence sources and methods. In 1975, Senator Bella Abzug questioned Lawrence Houston, CIA general counsel at the time of Olson’s death, and an author of the memo. She asked, with specific reference to Olson, “In other words, the Memorandum of Understanding, in your judgment, gave authority to the CIA to make decisions to give immunity to individuals who happened to work for the CIA for all kinds of crimes, including murder.” Houston answered, “Yes.”
-Mossad, which started using “targeted killings” in 1962, for decades included the death of Frank Olson in its assassination training program as an example of the perfect murder—“perfect” due to the skill with which it had been made to look like a suicide.

Historical Context
The concept of a breakaway civilization has roots in post-war developments and speculative interpretations of technological advancements. This section examines both the origins and influences that shape the narrative of this elusive idea.
Origins of the Breakaway Civilization Concept
The idea of a breakaway civilization first gained traction in speculative literature and conspiracy theories. Prominent authors and researchers like Richard Dolan have explored the possibility of secret human communities with advanced technologies set apart from mainstream society. This theory postulates that certain elites or groups may possess knowledge and technological advances far beyond the public's awareness.
Discussions often highlight UFO phenomena, suggesting these sightings could be human-made, resulting from secret technological projects. This contrasts with the extraterrestrial hypothesis, positioning the breakaway civilization as a plausible alternative. Early 20th-century science fiction also contributed to this narrative, envisioning hidden societies with superior technology and agendas diverging from the known world.
Influence of Post-War Developments
The aftermath of World War II significantly influenced the breakaway civilization hypothesis. Operations like Paperclip, where Allied forces integrated former Nazi scientists into their technology programs, fuel speculation that some technologies were kept secret. The Cold War further intensified these rumors, with both superpowers possibly developing clandestine technologies.
Architectural undertakings like the creation of Area 51 and secretive aerospace projects added credibility to the idea. Additionally, the rapid advancements in aerospace, computing, and military technologies during this period lead some to believe that a hidden tier of technological progress exists, accessible only to a select few. This reinforces the breakaway civilization narrative, suggesting a divide between public knowledge and elite secrets.
Key Figures and Theorists
Key individuals contributing to the breakaway civilization theory comprise researchers and authors who have investigated these ideas, as well as insiders and whistleblowers who claim firsthand experience.
Influential Researchers and Authors
Richard Dolan is a prominent researcher known for his work on the breakaway civilization theory. He asserts the existence of a covert society with advanced technology, hidden from public view. Dolan's books and talks have attracted significant attention.
Jason Jorjani, noted for his provocative hypotheses, suggests that post-WWII Nazi scientists integrated with the military-industrial complex, contributing to rapid technological advancements. His ideas, though controversial, push the conversation forward.
Whitley Strieber, an author and host of "Unknown Country," provides platforms for discussions on hidden civilizations and unexplored technologies. His contributions have broadened the understanding and sparked wider interest in this area.
Notable Whistleblowers and Insiders
Participants such as Dr. Steven Greer have brought insider knowledge to the discussion. Greer, a former emergency physician, turned whistleblower, claims that extraterrestrial technology is controlled by clandestine groups, affecting global security and economics.
Another key figure is Richard Doty, a former special agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Doty's revelations about classified government programs and extraterrestrial encounters support the notion of a hidden, technologically advanced faction.
Some insiders have continually claimed that this parallel civilization utilizes suppressed technologies. Their testimonies offer a glimpse into potential operations and objectives of these concealed groups, enhancing our grasp of the breakaway civilization discussion.
Technological Advancements
Technological advancements play a pivotal role in the concept of a breakaway civilization. They are exemplified by innovations in advanced aerospace technologies and energy and propulsion systems.
Advanced Aerospace Technologies
The notion of a breakaway civilization inherently includes the development of aerospace technologies that surpass conventional wisdom. Research into this field often highlights hypersonic travel and anti-gravity propulsion.
There are claims about the existence of secret space programs, which may involve highly classified spacecraft capable of reaching extraordinary speeds and altitudes. Such technologies, if real, could potentially enable off-world colonies or deep space exploration beyond current human capabilities.
Energy and Propulsion Innovations
Energy and propulsion innovations are critical to the sustainability and mobility of a breakaway civilization. The focus here includes the development of zero-point energy and fusion power.
These cutting-edge energy sources promise immense power output with minimal environmental impact. Such advancements could not only revolutionize energy consumption on Earth but also provide necessary propulsion for long-term interstellar travel. This opens new possibilities for remote habitation and resource exploitation far from our planet.
In an unprecedented achievement, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force, has announced that through its “ACE” program the X-62A “VISTA” has become the first autonomous fighter jet in the world to successfully engage in aerial dogfighting maneuvers against a manned F-16.
This historic event marks a significant milestone in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in combat scenarios, highlighting a radical advancement in military aviation technology.
“The X-62A Team demonstrated that cutting-edge machine learning-based autonomy could be safely used to fly dynamic combat maneuvers,” Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall said in a video released by DARPA marking the achievement. The team accomplished this while complying with American norms for safe and ethical use of autonomous technology.”
The X-62A’s recent accomplishment represents a major breakthrough in DARPA’s Air Combat Evolution, or “ACE” program. The primary goal of ACE is to enhance trust in autonomous combat systems by focusing on the challenge of enabling an AI-controlled aircraft to engage in fast, within-visual-range aerial combat, commonly referred to as “dogfighting.”
Since its inception in 2019, the ACE program has rapidly reached several key milestones, marking a significant departure from the usual lengthy timelines associated with developing advanced aerospace platforms.
In 2020, DARPA’s ACE program hosted the “AlphaDogFight” trials, a three-day virtual competition where AI programs from various industry partners competed in simulated dogfight scenarios. Maryland-based software company Heron Systems emerged as the winner, outperforming seven other AI agents designed to control F-16s. These competing programs included entries from major defense firms such as Lockheed Martin and the Georgia Tech Research Institute.
Heron Systems’ F-16 AI agent would then go on to dominate a series of dogfights against an experienced human Air Force F-16 pilot, “winning 5-0 through aggressive and precise maneuvers the human pilot couldn’t outmatch.” In 2021, Heron Systems was acquired by Shield AI, a San Diego-based technology company that specializes in the development of AI-powered defense systems.
The previously computer simulation-bound AI program was subsequently uploaded into a modified F-16D multirole fighter aircraft, known as the X-62A “Variable Stability In-flight Simulator Test Aircraft,” or VISTA.
Developed by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works in collaboration with Calspan Corporation, the X-62A is a one-of-a-kind experimental aircraft outfitted with software that allows it to mimic the performance characteristics of other aircraft. The VISTA is used as a testbed for new systems, notably contributing to the development of the Direct Voice Input and the “Virtual HUD,” which have been incorporated into the cockpit design of the F-35 Lightning II.
“We conducted multiple sorties [takeoffs and landings] with numerous test points performed on each sortie to test the algorithms under varying starting conditions, against various simulated adversaries, and with simulated weapons capabilities,” DARPA ACE program manager, Air Force Lt. Col. Ryan “Hal” Hefron, explained. “We didn’t run into any major issues but did encounter some differences compared to simulation-based results, which is to be expected when transitioning from virtual to live.”
In 2020, the Air Force tested an AI algorithm named “ARTUµ” to control the sensor and navigation systems of a U-2 “Dragon Lady” spy plane. However, the 2022 tests with the X-62A represented the first time a machine-learning program had ever been used to pilot a tactical fighter aircraft.
Less than a year after these groundbreaking tests, the ACE program has achieved another significant milestone by showcasing the AI-controlled X-62A’s ability to successfully engage in real-world dynamic, offensive, defensive, and high-aspect air combat scenarios against crewed F-16s.
According to DARPA, initial testing of the AI-controlled X-62A against human fighter pilots began in late 2023 and continued into 2024.
“In September 2023 we accomplished another world first where we actually took the x62 and flew it against a live manned F-16,” Lieutenant Colonel Maryann Karlen, Deputy Commandant of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School explained. “We built up in safety using the Maneuvers first defensive, then offensive, and then high aspect nose to nose engagements where we got as close as 2,000 ft at 1200 miles-per-hour.”
The recent announcement showcases the ACE program’s rapid progress from simulations to real-world applications and serves as a testament to machine learning’s potential to revolutionize air combat tactics and strategy.
The image of an autonomous, AI-controlled fighter jet engaging in dogfights with human-piloted aircraft is bound to capture widespread public attention. However, at the core of this breakthrough lies the significant advancement of machine learning technologies and their ability to handle a spectrum of highly complex tasks.
Machine learning stands apart from traditional, rule-based autonomous systems in its ability to learn and adapt from vast streams of data. Unlike pre-programmed systems that operate within strict parameters, AI algorithms like those developed in DARPA’s ACE program autonomously analyze data to make real-time decisions during flight. This capability mirrors how human pilots react instinctively to dynamic combat scenarios, continually learning and adjusting tactics based on experience.
A crucial aspect of integrating AI into practical aviation scenarios is establishing trust. DARPA says the ACE program has made significant strides in this area by ensuring the AI agents controlling the X-62A operate within aviation safety norms. These include aerial and ground collision avoidance protocols, adherence to combat rules, and ensuring the AI’s decision-making process aligns with human safety and ethical standards.
“While the X-62 unique safety features have been instrumental in allowing us to take elevated technical risk,” explained James Valpiani, Commandant of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School Colonel, “with these machine learning agents in this test campaign, there were no violations of the training rules which codify the airmen’s safety and ethical norms, demonstrating the potential that machine learning has for future aerospace applications.”
Given the recent success in testing with the X-62A, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall recently revealed he was planning to personally fly on the autonomous-controlled aircraft at some point this year.
“I’m going to get a ride in an autonomously flown F-16 later this year,” said Kendall at an April senate hearing on the Air Force’s 2025 budget. “There will be a pilot with me who will just be watching, as I will be, as the autonomous technology works. Hopefully, neither he nor I will be needed to fly the airplane.”
As Kendall mentioned, DARPA has highlighted that while the X-62A conducts fully autonomous flights, it still carries two human pilots. These pilots monitor aircraft systems and can switch between AI agents to evaluate performance. They are also prepared to take control of the aircraft at any moment to maintain safety during tests.
Ultimately, the rapid success of DARPA’s ACE program underscores the shift in how future air combat will be conducted. It potentially introduces a new era where AI can be trusted to handle complex decisions in high-stakes environments and reduce human pilots’ risks in combat scenarios.
The implications of this breakthrough in machine learning additionally extend beyond military applications to potential adaptations in other sectors, including civilian aerospace. By demonstrating AI’s capability to handle intricate tasks under extreme conditions, the ACE program could pave the way for future applications where AI can enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability in commercial and military systems.
In DARPA’s announcement, Bill Gray, the Chief Test Pilot at the USAF Test Pilot School, underscored the importance of these recent advances and their potential to herald more robust AI-enhanced systems in scenarios previously considered too hazardous for automation.
“It’s very easy to look at the X-62 Ace Program and see it as under autonomous control [and] it can dogfight. That misses the point,” Gray said. Dogfighting was the problem to solve so we could start testing autonomous artificial intelligent systems in the air. But every lesson we’re learning applies to every task you could give to an autonomous system.”

Nestled in the arid desert of southern Nevada, Area 51 has long captivated the imaginations of conspiracy theorists, UFO enthusiasts, and the general public. Known for its shroud of secrecy, the base has become synonymous with alien lore and government cover-ups. But what exactly is Area 51? Is it truly a testing ground for extraterrestrial technology, or is it simply a highly classified military facility? This article explores the history, myths, and facts surrounding one of the most enigmatic sites in the United States.
1. The Mysterious Origins
Area 51 is located at Groom Lake, a dry lake bed in the Nevada desert, approximately 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas. The base's name originated from its designation on Atomic Energy Commission maps. Although the name "Area 51" has stuck with the public, the military rarely uses it. Established in 1955 as part of the Nevada Test and Training Range complex, the area was initially named "Paradise Ranch" by aerospace company Lockheed, now Lockheed Martin, to attract workers.
2. The Roswell Incident and UFO Lore
The lore of Area 51 is deeply intertwined with the 1947 Roswell incident, where a mysterious object crashed near Roswell, New Mexico. While the government claimed it was a weather balloon, many believe it was a UFO. This event fueled conspiracy theories that Area 51 was used to study alien technology recovered from crash sites, including the alleged Roswell UFO. The secrecy surrounding the base only added to these suspicions.

3. Secretive Operations and Security Measures
Area 51's primary function has always been as a testing ground for experimental aircraft and weapons systems. The base was originally used to test the U-2 spy plane, followed by other notable aircraft such as the SR-71 Blackbird and the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter. The need for secrecy in these operations led to extensive security measures, including restricted airspace, armed guards, motion sensors, and surveillance cameras. Signs warning of "deadly force" against trespassers further deter curiosity seekers.
4. The U-2 Spy Plane and Cold War Context
In 2013, the US government finally acknowledged the existence of Area 51, largely in response to a declassified CIA document detailing the history of the U-2 spy plane. Developed during the Cold War, the U-2 was used for high-altitude reconnaissance missions. The secrecy surrounding its development and testing at Area 51 contributed to the base's mysterious reputation. The U-2's unusual appearance and high-altitude flights likely sparked many UFO sightings.

5. Modern Technology and Surveillance
With the advent of satellite imagery and digital technology, Area 51 is no longer as invisible as it once was. Since 2018, the base can be viewed on Google Maps, although its operations remain highly classified. The increased visibility has not diminished public fascination, and the base continues to be a focal point for conspiracy theories and speculative fiction.
6. Pop Culture Impact
Area 51 has significantly impacted popular culture, appearing in movies, TV shows, and books. The 1996 blockbuster "Independence Day" featured Area 51 as a key location in humanity's battle against an alien invasion. The TV series "The X-Files" and "Doctor Who" have also included episodes centered around the base. These portrayals have cemented Area 51's status as a symbol of government secrecy and extraterrestrial intrigue.
7. The Robert Lazar Story
In 1989, Robert Lazar claimed he worked on alien technology at Area 51, further fueling the mythos. Lazar alleged that he had seen autopsy photos of aliens and that the government used the site to study recovered alien spacecraft. However, investigations revealed that Lazar had fabricated his background and employment history. Despite being discredited, his stories continue to influence public perception of Area 51.
8. The 2019 "Storm Area 51" Event
In 2019, a Facebook event titled "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us" went viral, attracting millions of RSVPs. The event, started as a joke, suggested that a large crowd could overwhelm security and uncover the base's secrets. Although only a few thousand people showed up, the event highlighted the enduring public fascination with Area 51 and the hope of uncovering hidden truths.
9. The Reality of Military Testing
While Area 51 is undoubtedly a site of intense secrecy, the notion that it houses alien technology is unlikely. The base's primary purpose remains the development and testing of advanced military aircraft and technology. The sightings of unidentified flying objects are more plausibly explained by the presence of cutting-edge experimental aircraft.
10. MYSTERY
Area 51 remains one of the most enigmatic places in the world, shrouded in secrecy and speculation. While the tales of alien technology and government cover-ups are compelling, the reality is likely more mundane. Area 51 is a testament to the lengths nations will go to protect their technological advancements and maintain an edge in global security. Whether or not extraterrestrial beings have ever set foot on its grounds, the legend of Area 51 continues to captivate and inspire imaginations worldwide.

NASA Scientist Richard John Terrile believes our existence is simply a simulation. Our Consciousness is not magical…at at some point it can be simulated by a computer, or in other words, replicated. In simple words, We can create a God!
The Matrix might have been Hollywood science fiction, but some scientists and philosophers take the so-called “simulation hypothesis” — the idea that everything we see might be an artificial creation — seriously.
Rich Terrile is a Voyager scientist who discovered several moons of Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. He works for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Also, he took the first pictures of another solar system around the nearby star Beta Pictoris.
According to Rich, the principles of quantum mechanics support this Simulation hypothesis. Particles do not have a specific state if they are not visible. In other words, we see what we expect to see, and this happens when we look at it. The essence of Rich’s theory is that a “programmer” from the future designed our reality to simulate the course of what the programmer considers to be ancient history—for whatever reason, maybe because he’s bored.
Rich says our universe is pixelated in units (broken up into pieces like subatomic particles)
There is much evidence that indicates that our reality is not as real as it seems to some of us. This may be the result of computer simulations that we are all in. Of course, the main question to be asked in such a situation is “who created this simulation?” Among the possible solutions is God or some advanced alien civilization.
Rich defines science as the discovery of the mathematical framework that explains our observations of the physical world.
He emphasizes that the universe is astonishingly mathematical, meaning that it can be described and understood through mathematical laws and principles. This is not a necessary condition, but it is a fundamental aspect of our universe.
He quotes Einstein, who found it incomprehensible that the world is comprehensible. He also references Eugene Wigner’s treatise on the “unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics in the natural world,” which describes this phenomenon as a “miracle” or “gift.”
He says the entire universe, including physical constants, can be described on a few sheets of paper.
This allows for simulating the universe on a computer smaller than the universe itself.
The universe is “pixelated,” meaning it has a finite number of elements (Planck length) and cannot be divided further.
All aspects of the universe (length, mass, energy, time, volume) are finite and discrete.
The universe has a finite number of states, making it computable.
Rich Terrile says, ‘Even things that we think of as continuous – time, energy, space, volume – all have a finite limit to their size. If that’s the case, then our universe is both computable and finite. Those properties allow the universe to be simulated.’
Rich says he can build a GOD!
He notes that most scientists aren’t faith-based, as the mathematical framework of the universe leaves no room for magic, faith, or miracles. Instead, science offers a more amazing reality.
Rich discusses what it takes to be an atheist, starting with an origin theory independent of a creator. Science offers the Big Bang theory, although it has some unlikely probabilities and epicycles. He mentions the concept of Boltzmann brains, which could form more frequently than an entire universe. Despite some problems with the theory, science has a good origin story.
To be an atheist, one also needs to believe there’s no God. Rich can’t prove a negative, but he flips the perspective: can he prove that God can exist within the laws of science, without miracles or magic? The answer is yes, due to the universe’s mathematical nature. Rich can simulate a universe, creating a scenario where he meets the requirements of God as described in the Baltimore Catechism. As a programmer, he can create a simulation with artificial self-awareness, essentially becoming the creator of a universe.
Rich believe these three key areas: advanced computation, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality, can come together to give humans godlike power over mind and matter, allowing us to create and engineer our own universes.
“Right now the fastest NASA supercomputers are cranking away at about double the speed of the human brain. If you make a simple calculation using Moore’s Law, you’ll find that these supercomputers, inside of a decade, will have the ability to compute an entire human lifetime of 80 years—including every thought ever conceived during that lifetime—in the span of a month,” said Rich. (Source)
How can we determine if our reality might be a computer simulation?
NASA scientist Richard Terrile, who was coincidentally a technical adviser on “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and spends his days trying to develop artificial intelligence, thinks that AI could eventually fix everything from ending world hunger to curing cancer.
“I believe it can,”he says. “These very, very advanced information systems, which go way beyond the capabilities of a human, I think are the way to go in actually solving these [problems].”
Unless you believe there’s something magical about consciousness—and I don’t, I believe it’s the product of a very sophisticated architecture within the human brain—then you have to assume that at some point it can be simulated by a computer, or in other words, replicated. There are two ways one might accomplish an artificial human brain in the future. One of them is to reverse-engineer it, but I think it would be far easier to evolve a circuit or architecture that could become conscious. Perhaps in the next ten to 30 years we’ll be able to incorporate artificial consciousness into our machines.
Now brace yourself: In 30 years we expect that a PlayStation—they come out with a new PlayStation every six to eight years, so this would be a PlayStation 7—will be able to compute about 10,000 human lifetimes simultaneously in real time, or about a human lifetime in an hour.
There’s how many PlayStations worldwide? More than 100 million, certainly. So think of 100 million consoles, each one containing 10,000 humans. That means, by that time, conceptually, you could have more humans living in PlayStations than you have humans living on Earth today.
So there’s a possibility we’re living in a super advanced game in some bloodshot-eyed goober’s PlayStation right now? Rich said “Yes.”
Rich: I can create Consciousness
Rich continues to explore the nature of consciousness and whether it’s something spiritual or magical. As a scientist, he bases his ideas on science rather than faith. He suggests that consciousness likely comes from the complex connections in our brains rather than any mystical source.
Currently, there are two main approaches to understanding and replicating consciousness. One approach is to reverse-engineer the brain, trying to map out and understand its intricate workings. Another approach, which Rich’s lab uses, involves evolving artificial neural networks through random variations and selections to see if they can mimic the brain’s self-awareness.
In 2015, Rich estimated that it might take 10 to 30 years to achieve artificial consciousness. He then shifts to discussing virtual reality and its mathematical aspects. If two things are mathematically indistinguishable, they are considered the same. This leads him to question whether a perfectly simulated environment is the same as the real one. If a simulated world can replicate the real world’s sensory experiences perfectly, then, in theory, the real and simulated worlds could be identical.
Rich proposed a thought experiment where if our entire body was enclosed and its sensory inputs replaced with a perfectly realistic simulation, we would have to question if the real world and the simulated world would be indistinguishable. If the simulation could recreate all sensory experiences exactly, it might be as real as the actual world.
He speculated about the possibility of uploading our consciousness into computers. In such a scenario, we might not need physical bodies or brains, only minds interacting with a machine capable of simulating reality. This simulated reality could theoretically manipulate time and probabilities, creating any kind of universe or scenario imaginable.
What are the requirements of to become a creator?
Rich considers different ideas about the universe’s origin. For people who don’t believe in a divine creator, the Big Bang theory explains how the universe started. But Rich thinks about what it would take for a creator to exist within our universe and how such a creator might be able to control and change the universe, much like how you can control a game world in “The Sims.” He believes that with future technology, it might be possible to create simulations with conscious beings, similar to how a creator might work with a simulated universe.
After thinking about it, I realized that a creator of a universe is capable of changing the laws of physics and sculpting whatever this universe is, which I can do in a computer simulation. In fact, I’ll maybe be able to do that soon with conscious beings.
Maybe, or maybe I’d just let them go. They’d be living out their lives in an incredibly short amount of time. Maybe I could change the physical laws. I could make them live in places both hospitable and inhospitable. I could make it so that they’re completely alone—perhaps that’s a boundary condition for us, and explains why there are no aliens.
Vragen zonder antwoorden Het universum verbergt veel mysteries.
FAA imposes flight restrictions around US Air Force Plant 42, home to classified aerospace development projects.
Reports of UFO sightings prompt concerns over espionage and drone interference in military installations.
Drones have become an increasing threat to aviation safety in recent years.
A series of unidentified flying object (UFO) reports around a highly classified US Air Force base in California have coincided with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposing temporary flight restrictions in the area. United States Air Force Plant 42 - home to advanced military aerospace development projects - has experienced a surge in suspected drone incursions within the past few months.
FAA flight restrictions around Plant 42
Residents of Palmdale, California have reported seeing several unidentified objects in the skies over the past few days, prompting action by the FAA. However, the larger story is that Plant 42 - an offshoot of Edwards Air Force Base (AFB) housing top-secret defense projects from the likes of Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman - has reportedly seen an uptick in "uncrewed aerial systems" (UAS) activities in recent months.
Photo: TipTopMap | Shutterstock
As detailed in a report by The War Zone, Mary Kozaitis, Chief of Media Operations for the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base, said the FAA restrictions were put in place "because of the increase in UAS activity." Other US bases have experienced suspected drone activity too, including a notable situation at Langley AFB in December, raising concerns over espionage.
According to Kozaitis,
"We have observed multiple UAS [uncrewed aerial systems] activities over Plant 42 during the last few months. The number of UASs fluctuated and they ranged in size and configuration."
The facility is home to Lockheed Martin's 'Skunk Works', or Advanced Development Programs (ADP) division, as well as other highly advanced aerospace projects, including the B-21 Raider stealth bomber program.
The sixth-generation bomber could be operational within four years.
Videos of alleged UFO sightings in Palmdale began showing up on social media on August 17th, although some clips have since been revealed as hoaxes. Nonetheless, the number of unexplained drone incidents that have been occurring around US military installations is a cause for concern.
US Navy ships have also reportedly experienced drone swarms, raising the likelihood that all of this is state espionage activity. The government has generally sought to downplay any incidents and has remained predictably quiet about the recent Palmdale sightings.
Drone challenges
Drones have become something of a nuisance for airports since affordable commercial drones hit the market. There have been several instances of drone interference at major global airports, including a notable situation over the 2018 Christmas holidays at London Gatwick (LGW) that forced hundreds of flight cancelations. Dublin Airport has also suffered from repeated drone incursions, eventually looking to specialist anti-drone technology as a solution.

Wayward drones pose a threat to aircraft as they are landing or attempting to take-off, and there have been many near misses over the years. In one particularly close call, an Emirates Airbus A380 suffered damage to its right wing after striking a suspected drone while landing in Nice.
The United States Air Force (USAF) and Lockheed Martin have announced the successful completion of tests involving their future intercontinental ballistic missile reentry vehicle, the Mk21A.
The planned test flight of the Mk21A vehicle took place over the Pacific Ocean on June 17, demonstrating a significant step forward in the development of future intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) technology.
The unarmed reentry vehicle was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, aboard a Minotaur I rocket at 11:01 p.m. Pacific Time.
In a press release, the American aerospace company said the test allowed engineering teams to evaluate several of the Mk21A’s technological capabilities and primary design components. The development of the Mk21A is part of a broader initiative that forms a critical component of the U.S. Air Force’s strategy to modernize its ICBM weapon systems.
“Test launches like these are crucial for protecting our nation’s defense,” said Col. Mark Shoemaker, Commander of Space Launch Delta 30, in a statement following Monday’s launch.
Presently, the Mk21A reentry vehicle represents the cutting-edge ICBM weapon technologies of the future, providing the basis for technologies that are already becoming integral to the U.S.’s deterrent posture.
Jay Watson, vice president of Strategic Reentry at Lockheed Martin, said his company’s more than six decades of involvement in the development of aerospace systems has “demonstrated exceptional performance in reentry technologies and a pioneering digital engineering approach on this program from its beginning.”
“We remain focused on delivering this capability for the warfighter as a trusted partner to the U.S. Air Force for ICBM reentry systems and modernization of the deterrent triad,” Watson said.
Monday’s test was part of an Engineering and Manufacturing Development contract the aerospace company presently has with the Air Force Nuclear Systems Center, based at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.
The company says that the data it collected during the test flight will provide potentially crucial information that it will use in the ongoing development and future testing of the Mk21A.
Presently, the reentry vehicle’s development remains on schedule, with assistance from modelling and simulation and the implementation of advanced digital engineering capabilities that have helped Lockheed Martin maintain an economical approach to the system’s development.
The Mk21A’s unique design includes the arming and fuzing subsystem and support elements, which contribute to ensuring the vehicle’s operational performance and overall effectiveness.
“As global threats evolve, it’s essential to support these launches and maintain access to space to safeguard our nation,” Col. Shoemaker said following Monday’s launch.
Paranormal lore is replete with reports from witnesses who claim to have been visited by mysterious figures claiming to be with the government or the military and delivering threatening messages. Generically known as the Men In Black (or less commonly, Women in Black), they typically seek out witnesses to UFO sightings or other incidents that the government would prefer to keep hidden from the public. They seek to confiscate evidence and intimidate witnesses to prevent them from speaking about what they saw, warning that bad things might happen if they do and that loose lips can sometimes lead to far worse things than sinking ships. But is this something that really happens or could it all be misunderstandings on the part of the witnesses, or perhaps even hallucinations?
Rock-solid evidence is difficult to come by, but it does exist if you dig deeply enough. One example of a visit by the Men in Black can be found in the United States Government's own archival files. The encounter in question that started the entire affair took place on July 7, 1947, but it's not the one you are probably thinking of based on that famous (in ufology) date. In the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona, there lived a young man named William A. Rhodes, a professional musician, amateur photographer, and electronics hobbyist. Late in the afternoon of the day in question, Rhodes was headed out to the workshop he had constructed in his backyard when he heard a strange sound coming from the skies. Looking to the northeast, he observed what he described as a flat, elliptical, gray object 20 to 30 feet across descending from a great height in a spiraling flight path. Amazed, he rushed into his shed and retrieved his Kodak Brownie 120 box camera. He returned outside and took two photographs of the object, one as it reached its lowest, closest point of approach and a second as it zoomed upward and away at a 45-degree angle.
Rhodes quickly contacted the Arizona Republic newspaper, sending them his photographs and giving them an interview. These remain some of the best photos of a UFO from the period, at least in my opinion. (You can view the photos here.) The report briefly generated some excitement locally in the press and among the public. The reason many of us may never have heard of Rhodes' encounter, however, was that it took place only two weeks after Kenneth Arnold's famous "flying saucer" sighting and on the same day that the infamous Roswell, New Mexico incident hit the national news and absorbed the media's attention. What William Rhodes didn't know at the time was that United States military and government officials were paying very close attention to his story. He would find out about that soon enough.
The Rhodes sighting and photographic evidence would go on to be recorded in the Project Grudge Archives under the humble name of "Incident 40." (You can read the full government record at the link.) The government's investigation into Mr. Rhodes would stretch on for more than five years and lead to multiple lawsuits. But the portion of interest for this discussion unfolded quickly. Air Materiel Command at Wright Patterson Air Force Base had been contacting the newspapers that had spoken to the witness and collecting all of the publicly available information about the sighting. Barely a month after the sighting, Wright Patterson assigned Special Agent George Fugate Jr. from the Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) to arrange an interview with Rhodes at this home. CIC wanted some backup from the FBI to assist with the interview and a man identified as Special Agent Brower (no first name given) was detailed to travel with Fugate and help him. The interview was scheduled for August 29, 1947.
This is where the story takes an interesting twist. On their way to Rhodes' home, Fugate instructed Special Agent Brower to not reveal his name or produce his badge or any ID for the witness. He was only introduced as "a representative of the United States Government.” Brower complied, though when he was later debriefed he recounted that he found the request to conceal his identity to be “a peculiar procedure." But he also concluded that it was "none of his business," so he accomplished the mission and returned to his regular assignment. The agents informed Rhodes that he would need to turn over any copies of the photos he had in his possession as well as the negatives. Rhodes turned over the photographs but informed the agents that the negatives were not in his home. He would retrieve them and they could return the next day to collect them, which they did. That would be the last time that William Rhodes would ever see the photos or the negatives.
Rhodes pursued various legal methods to have his property returned to no avail. The government insisted that they could not find the evidence, at one point suggesting that they were unsure if the witness had ever turned them over in the first place. The government was obviously lying because the linked archival records contained multiple material transfer receipts showing the negatives being delivered to various offices, with the results of various technical tests done upon them being recorded. They also recorded investigations into William Rhodes' "character," including checks of his credit rating and background investigations revealing that his mother was a Russian immigrant, calling his loyalty to the nation into question. They seemed to be preparing a case against the witness more than anything else. But there was no question that they were very much interested in the sighting. One expert who was very impressed with the evidence was J. Allen Hynek, who wrote in his report that "Incident 40" was “one of the most crucial in the history of these objects.” That was because the photographs Rhodes provided so closely matched the actual description of the objects seen by Kenneth Arnold, which were later incorrectly described as "flying saucers."
Returning to our original subject of inquiry, that's most of what we know about Incident 40, William Rhodes, and his mysterious visitors in August of 1947. This leaves us with an obvious, glaring question. Was the enlistment of Agent Brower to help extract what the government wanted from the witness a one-off, random strategy that Special Agent Fugate cooked up on the spur of the moment, or was this a technique that they were already employing and Brower was unwittingly called in to play that role when they were short-handed? Keep in mind that all of this was unfolding very early in what is now considered the "modern era" of ufology. No matter which answer is the truth, it probably doesn't matter. If this was the only time the government ever did this, that would make the incident a unicorn, and those are deemed impossibly rare for a reason. Few things only happen once in our universe, with the possible exception of the Big Bang, and even that has been called into question recently.
The technique worked, and if it worked once, why wouldn't you try it again? Having spent time working in both military and government operations myself, I can assure you that this would be a very typical military mindset. You don't abandon your game plan when you're in the process of running up your score. The archived files of Project Blue Book are filled with stories of the American government diving deeply into reports of UFOs and associated phenomena while working strenuously to assure the media and the public at large that there was "nothing to see here" and it was all swamp gas, balloons, or ball lighting (which doesn't even exist according to my own research). The major stumbling blocks in their efforts were the eyewitnesses, particularly those who may have captured compelling photographic or video evidence. Finding a way to shut them up and prevent the spread of potential "public hysteria" would have been high on their priority list.
It's not as if the American government (and most other governments, for that matter) don't have long-established track records of keeping secrets when they felt it was in their best interest. In the United States, consider what happened during the Tuskegee syphilis experiments. That went on for decades and hundreds of unwitting Black Americans died as a result, believing that they were "helping the government" find a cure. Plenty of people knew it was going on but they remained silent and hid it from the public and the press. The United States Army conducted tests of hallucinogenic drugs on its own soldiers starting in the 1950s for years without informing them. Again, this was all known and records exist confirming it to this day, but nobody was told. Should we honestly believe that these same power brokers wouldn't engage in some "Men in Black" tactics to conceal what they really knew about potential extraterrestrial life if they believed it would benefit their long-term goals?
It's not as if we don't have plenty of other highly credible accounts of people who have described run-ins with these shadowy military or government entities under similar circumstances, even if their own accounts didn't wind up in the national archives. These reports come to us from the earliest days of the modern UFO era to the present. Back in the 1950s, Albert Bender reported encounters with extraterrestrials and being subsequently visited by Men in Black who may or may not have even been human. He went on to write a book about it and became the subject of numerous documentaries. He said that he was visited by three men dressed in black suits who warned him to stop his UFO research. His claims were quickly dismissed by skeptics because he later described them as "floating about a foot off the floor," suggesting that they may have been aliens themselves, but who is to say that this point?
In 1947, around the same time that William Rhodes was having his own experiences, Harold Dahl reported seeing mysterious flying objects near Maury Island, Washington. He later claimed he was visited by a man in a black suit who threatened him and his family if he spoke about the incident. In 1968, UFO researchers Jack and Mary Robinson reported Men in Black searching their apartment while they were out after being warned to avoid the topic. A friend of theirs even captured a picture of a stereotypical MIB sitting in a car outside their home.
Much more recently, in 2008, residents of Stephenville, Texas, called in to local media and the police reporting strange lights in the sky. Some of those same witnesses later told reporters that they had been "visited by men in black suits who instructed them not to discuss what they had seen." In another event in 2014, a man going by the pseudonym "Jack Smith" reported that the MIB had accosted him in New Orleans, threatening his life unless he stopped investigating the topic. So what is the logical explanation for all of this? If you wish to argue that some of these people were simply confused or they were making up stories to attract attention or sell books, that's fine. That's part of human nature and it happens. But all of them after so many years? We've already documented here that the American government has done this at least once. The idea that they wouldn't have kept doing it is even less plausible than the proposal that every UAP ever reported was nothing more than an errant weather balloon or the planet Venus. My wife and I have seen five UFOs and I can assure you that they were neither of those things. At this point, I'm literally waiting to hear a knock on our door.
On July 2, 1997, Will Smithand Tommy Lee Jones teamed up as Agents Jay and Kay, respectively, to quietly control the large alien population living in New York City. The comic book-adapted buddy comedy spawned three sequels, which as a franchise went on to gross more than $1.9 billion. The original film in the series—which was released nearly 25 years ago—was the second-highest-grossing film of 1997, only overshadowed by Titanic’s immense success. Here are some intergalactic facts about the series.
1. Will Smith used to be known as “The King of the 4th."
Smith had back-to-back number one Fourth of July weekend hits in the mid-1990s: In 1996, Independence Day dominated the box office, and the next year Men in Black opened in first place. Though 1999’s Wild Wild West was one of Smith’s lowest openings, bringing in just $27,687,484 during its opening weekend, it was a strong enough total to top the box office charts. In 2002 and 2008, Men in Black II and Hancock, respectively, solidified Smith’s moniker.
2. Men in Black director Barry Sonnenfeld got his start as a cinematographer for the Coen brothers.
Sonnenfeld cut his teeth as a director of photography on the Coen brothers’Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, and Miller’s Crossing; he also worked with Penny Marshall on Big and Rob Reiner on When Harry Met Sally… and Miserybefore segueing into directing the Addams Family films and Get Shorty. Besides all three Men in Black films, Sonnenfeld also directed Smith in 1999’s Wild Wild West.
3.Sonnenfeld didn’t want to work with Tommy Lee Jones because of his alleged temper.
In fairness, he can look a little grumpy. Jeff Vespa/GettyImages
Before Sonnenfeld signed on to direct Men in Black, a director by the name of Les Mayfield was originally hired. Tommy Lee Jones joined the cast in the beginning, back when Chris O’Donnell was being considered for what eventually became Will Smith’s role. Much to Sonnenfeld’s surprise, he loved working with Jones.“I saw Tommy do a TV interview a few years ago, and he was so mean I remember thinking, ‘Thank god I never have to work with this jerk,”’ Sonnenfeld recalled to Entertainment Weekly. “But I ended up loving every minute of it. He can be difficult if you don’t have clear opinions, but we got along extraordinarily well.”
4. Some people think the Men in Black really exist.
Going back to Ufology in the 1940s and ’50s, several people wrote accounts and books about these so-called "men in black." The Mothman Prophecies author John Keel was the first person credited with using the "MIB" abbreviation in his writings. Albert K. Benderclaimed“he was visited by three men in dark suits who threatened him with imprisonment if he continued his inquiries into UFOs,” and Gray Barker wrote several nonfiction books featuring the men in black, including 1956's They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers and 1984's MIB: The Secret Terror Among Us.Barker’s sister, Blanch, recalled how he once told her why he wrote the books: “There’s good money in it.”
5. The Men in Black comic book writer also thinks they’re real.
In the early ’90s, Lowell Cunningham penned the Men in Black comic book series, which was based on his own ideas of the men in black agents. “I was taken with the whole idea of these powerful men who show up and keep the peace,” Cunningham told The New York Times in 1997. “I shaped the men in black to be active agents, out there responding to threats, cleaning them up if they’ve already occurred. They describe themselves as the thin black line between reality and chaos.” He goes on to say one day he saw a black car drive by him and thought, “That’s the kind of car the men in black would drive.”
6. Frank the pug got the diva treatment.
In real life, Frank was a pug named Mushu, who appeared briefly in the first film but had a more expanded role in the sequel. “I had to find a pug for the original Men in Black," Mushu’s owner, Cheryl Shawver, told The National Enquirer in 2002. "I saw an ad in the paper and bought Mushu for just a few hundred dollars. He travels by crate in business class with Cristie [the trainer]. He goes under the seat. He stays in the hotel room with her, sleeps on her bed. She orders his meals from room service: steak, chicken. He drinks only bottled water when he’s on the road. He’s a VIP!”
7. A Men in Black /21 Jump Street mash-up was discussed.

In the wake of the 2014 Sony hack, reports surfaced that among the leaked documents was an e-mail from former Sony studio head Amy Pascal stating that the studio was planning on mashing up the 21 Jump Street and Men in Black franchises for one star-studded movie. The premise would entail Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum playing cops, but it’s unclear if Jones and/or Smith would reprise their roles. In an e-mail to Pascal, Hill said: “Jump Street merging with MIB—I think that’s clean and rad and powerful.”
Back in 2013, it was reported a Men in Black 4was in the works, with 22 Jump Street scribe Oren Uziel writing the script. Though a fourth installment led by Smith and Jones hasn't materialized yet, 2019 did see the release of Men in Black: International with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as the leads.
8. BadAstronomy.com laid out the film’s scientific accuracies and inaccuracies.
The scientific website BadAstronomy.com broke down all of the astronomical incidents in the first Men in Black film and discussed what was good (a.k.a. accurate) about the movie and what wasn’t. For instance, Agent Kay says,“You want to stay away from that guy. He’s, uh, he’s grouchy. A three-hour delay in customs after a trip for 17 trillion miles is gonna make anybody cranky,” but BadAstronomy corrects the error: “The nearest known star to the Sun is Proxima Centauri, which is roughly 25 trillion miles away. So 17 trillion still falls a bit short. Still, I give them some credit.”
9.Men in Black is still the highest-grossing action buddy comedy of all time.
Rush Hour 2 almost dethroned Men in Black from the top spot in 2001, but with a gross of $250 million, Men in Blackheld onto its position. 22 Jump Street comes in third, and Men in Black II and Men in Black 3 rank fourth and fifth on the list, respectively.
10. Basketball braces inspired Vincent D'Onofrio’s bug walk.
The actor, who played a bug-like alien named Edgar, talked about how he came up with his distinct walk in the movie. While watching bug documentaries helped, there was another ingredient that put it over the top.
“I was walking by a sporting goods store one day, and I saw these braces that the basketball players wear,” he said. “I went in and I tried one on and I realized you could lock it off, you could tape the hinges so that you can’t bend either way. So I bought two of them and I took them home and I put them on. So, I slightly bent my leg and locked off the braces so I couldn’t move either way, but it was slightly bent and I taped off both my feet and I tried to walk and it created this restrained, physical odd thing.”
11. Will Smith came up with the plot for Men In Black 3 while filming Men in Black II.
One night while on the set of Men in Black II, Smith told Sonnenfeld his idea for a third film.“At the beginning, something has happened and Agent Kay is missing and I have to go back to the past to go try to save young Agent Kay,” Sonnenfeld recalled to CNN. “In doing so, myself and the audience find out all sorts of secrets about the world that we didn’t even know were out there.” All Sonnenfeld could muster was, “Can we just finish this one?” Over a decade later, the plot to Men in Black 3 did revolve around time travel and saving a young Agent Kay, played by Josh Brolin.
12. The Men in Black theme song was Will Smith’s first solo hit.
Smith previously experienced success with his rap-duo group DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, but co-writing and singing the Men in Black theme song was his first taste of solo success. The song was featured on both the film’s soundtrack (which sold more than 3 million copies) and Smith’s debut solo album, Big Willie Style, which was released a few months after the film came out. The theme song won Smith a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance, and cemented Smith as a triple threat: a bona fide television and movie star, and a rapper.
13. Men in Black makeup artist Rick Baker announced his retirement in 2015.
Rick Baker won seven Oscars for his makeup effects during his career, including one for his Edgar the Bug work on Men in Black. In 2015, Baker announced his retirement.
“I said the time is right, I am 64 years old, and the business is crazy right now,” Baker told 89.3 KPCC about why he was getting out of the biz. “I like to do things right, and they wanted cheap and fast. That is not what I want to do, so I just decided it is basically time to get out.”
14. Will Smith and Rip Torn reprised their roles for an amusement park ride.
In 2000, Men in Black Alien Attack replacedBack to the Future Part III Locomotive Display when it opened at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. Smith and Torn filmed a short video and supplied their voices, which play as the riders use laser guns to shoot animatronic aliens. At 70,000 square feet, it was the largest dark ride built for a Universal park at the time.
15.The Ray-Ban glasses worn in the movie almost didn’t get a shoutout.

The sunglasses Smith and Jones sport in the film are Ray-Ban Predator II glasses. According to a 1997 article in Promo magazine, a special coating was applied to the glasses to limit reflection, which meant removing the logo. Without the logo, nobody would know what type of glasses they were (Sonnenfeld edited out a previous line in the movie where Jones says “that’s why they call them Ray-Bans”).
Ray-Ban tried to convince the studio to reinstate the logo, but they refused. After some coercing, Smith compromised and name-dropped the company in the “Men in Black” song: “Black tie with the black attitude / New style, black Ray-Bans, I’m stunnin’, man.”The popularity of the movieand the song’s music video gave the $100 Predators a four- to five-fold increase in sales, and a boost to Ray-Ban’s entire catalog of shades.
Dr. Astrid Stuckelberger is a Swiss Scientist who claims CERN is working on a secret ‘Nuclear Program’ & there is a Portal underneath CERN from where Beings coming in & out; Physicists who work there told her that there are 17 different dimensions of reality or more.
Dr. Stuckelberger is a scientist and expert in international health. She holds a PhD and teaches at the University of Geneva and Lausanne. With over 20 years of experience, she’s a leading Swiss researcher who has worked with the WHO, UN, and EU on various health programs. That’s what her LinkedIn profile says. She has done numerous interviews which add credibility to her profile.
Two years ago, Dr. Stuckelberger interviewed Maria Zeee on Zeee Media. This interview was published on Rumble where she discussed many strange things, one of which was about CERN’s terrifying experiments. (Source)
Dr. Stuckelberger claimed that CERN is dealing with “Radio Nuclear research” and there are lots of Physicists, who are doing very strange experimentation. She said Physicists from the CERN who her “There are beings from portals, coming in and out.”
She said, “Yes. And they were saying, I mean, I met them at a dinner and there were two of them. And both said that, yes. They have, you know, secondhand proof that the people who, you know, they’re dealing with the boson of Higgs and the subatomic. So they have apparently in the bottom of the CERN, this portal, this door, where they are dealing with all the subatomic dimensions.”
Dr. Stuckelberger further said,
“They [Physicists] say there are 17 different dimensions of reality. That’s what those physicists and some others say.
There are more dimensions. We know the time-space, the tri-dimensional x, y, and z in a graphic. But then you have more dimensions, and they are playing with that. They’re using that. And they were a group, and they had a being.
They did not tell me more about who came that doesn’t resemble a human. And then they had another one. And they have proof because they left a scarf.
And now when you look at what is going on in the CERN, there is a fight from some of the military agencies, intel. They say that there is a fight on time. They’re trying to change time. I’m just saying that because as a scientist, you can not say something so important, because if you can deal with the little, the smallest energies on earth, you can imagine that you can go through other realms of dimensions.”
Dr. Stuckelberger’s claims are bizarre, and we have no proof to accept or deny them. The stories of interdimensional portals are primarily discussed in fiction, but some concepts in science touch on similar ideas.
Scientists discuss wormholes, theoretical structures in space-time that could, according to some interpretations of general relativity and string theory, potentially connect distant points in the universe or even different dimensions through a tunnel-like passage.
Perhaps there are different life forms on the other side… Who knows, but… Michio Kaku explains the concept of the Multiverse: There are invisible creatures among us (Perhaps a portal can make a way for them)
Regarding Dr. Stuckelberger’s claims, I found a strangely similar story posted on Reddit by a user claiming to be a top scientist at CERN around five years ago. I do not want you to take it seriously, but it does align with what Dr. Stuckelberger said.
This story was published in r/nosleep with 18 Million Subscribers. The synopsis of this user post says: A serious mistake may have endangered humanity. The scientist’s team worked with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to study particles.
On March 22, 2019, a small error in the LHC’s startup code led to an unusual yellow light filling the facility. The team noticed a dark, otherworldly orb that quickly vanished. Subsequent experiments with similar orbs led to dangerous results. A metal pen tested in one of the voids showed extremely high radiation, killing ten researchers. Drones sent into the void lost connection instantly.
In a recent test, instead of the expected light, a large black figure emerged from the void and communicated telepathically. It threatened to destroy humanity by invading their world.
This incident happened a week ago. The situation is dire, and there is concern for the safety of many.
“A black figure started to emerge from the large void. Although very humanoid this “thing” was anything but human. It was featureless, It gave off strong vibrations and was so massive it had to duck to exit the void. Many researchers broke down at the sight of this thing, and then it spoke. We all heard it clear as day in our heads, we all heard the blistering static sound as words began to play inside our minds.
“You creatures have no place peering into our world, your destruction was set in stone the moment you opened up the doorway into our dimension, we will exterminate your kind as your knowledge of our existence threatens us, this is not a warning, but a promise.”
In 2022 Vice published this article in….”CERN Causing Collective Mass Delusion by Creating Portals to Alternate Dimensions?”
The theory states that in 2012, CERN scientists were attempting to study the Higgs Boson particle when something went wrong. According to the theory, their experiments caused a rift in the space-time continuum, destroying our universe and moving us into a parallel universe. This new universe is an experimental one, belonging to some unknown entity. It is believed that this is the cause of the so-called “Mandela Effect” and other paranormal activities. The theory further states that CERN used quantum entanglement to bridge the gap between the two universes and move us into this new one.
The theory concludes that the current universe we inhabit is not our own, but rather an experimental universe belonging to some unknown entity. This entity, it is believed, is manipulating the universe to study the effects of their experiments. This is the cause of the Mandela Effect and other paranormal activities.
Clara Nellist, a particle physicist who works on CERN’s ATLAS explained this phenomenon and said she understands where people are coming from.
“I completely get the curiosity and trying to understand the Mandela Effects—people have a strong memory of what they think something was, and then to see a contrast with that memory can be quite jarring … I think we should [to some extent] be honored and happy that we’re capturing the imagination of people because we’re at the forefront of science. People are interested in what we’re doing.”
“In my opinion, some of the things being misremembered make more sense as what they should have been,” she said. “I can see how more people remember the spelling of something in a certain way because it’s more intuitive.” This is a popular theory for why people remember “Berenstein Bears” vs “Berenstain Bears”—it just makes more sense as “Berenstein,” because Berenstein is a somewhat common name.
Nellist said that, while the science CERN is doing at the LHC is groundbreaking, they are simply recreating “collisions that happen in our atmosphere all the time” in a controlled environment. “For billions of years this has been happening in our universe,” she said.
The questions that theoretical physicists are trying to answer are in some ways related to the questions that conspiracy theorists and hobby researchers are trying to answer, though they are going about it in wildly different ways. Legitimate scientists, quantum physicists, and theoretical physicists have hypothesized multiple universes, wormholes, teleportation, the idea that reality is a simulation, additional dimensions, and so on. Learning more about basic physics to fill in gaps in knowledge and understand how some of these phenomena may work is part of CERN’s mission, but that doesn’t mean CERN is causing these things to happen.
A few days before his mysterious death, the 35th US president John F. Kennedy demanded that the CIA provide him with a UFO dossier. From another archival note by John Kennedy, it became known that he wanted to offer the USSR a joint program for space exploration. Almost half a century after the death of John F. Kennedy, sensational details were revealed regarding his latest orders. It turned out that just 10 days before his death, the 35th president of the United States requested top-secret information about flying ships from special services.
According to the Daily Mail, Kennedy sent two requests: one to the CIA, the other one to NASA. The circulars had been useless in the archives of these departments for many years, but in the end, on the request made by author William Lester under the Freedom of Information Act, the CIA had to release the documents to him.
Author William Lester said the CIA released the documents to him under the Freedom of Information Act after he requested while researching for his new book ‘A Celebration of Freedom: JFK and the New Frontier.’
While working on a new book ‘A Celebration of Freedom: JFK and the New Frontier,’ the writer got the opportunity to familiarize himself with the contents of archival materials. Studying those documents, the author came across two sensations at once.
In a letter dated November 12, 1963, to the Director of the CIA, John F. Kennedy demanded a detailed report on the secret materials of the department devoted to UFOs and other paranormal phenomena. In another one, that was addressed to the administration of the National Space Agency (NASA), the president expressed a desire to cooperate with the Soviet Union in the field of space research and even join forces in space exploration.
Of course, there could be no talk of any opening of the Iron Curtain: after the Caribbean crisis, relations between the two nuclear powers became extremely heated. However, according to Lester, the coincidence of the two documents in time is far from accidental. The fact is that flying ships had repeatedly been seen over the territory of the Soviet Union. Kennedy rightly feared that the USSR might regard the appearance of unidentified objects in the sky above its territory as military aggression.
“I think this is one of the reasons why he wanted to get his hands on this information and get it away from the jurisdiction of NASA so he could say to the Soviets,” said Lester.
”The government regularly declassifies documents after a certain amount of time goes by, and then you have to file a request for those documents,” Lester told Life’s Little Mysteries, a sister site of Space.com. “When I was in the process of filing, those letters had just become declassified and released to the public.” This happened in 2006 or 2007, Lester said. “At the time, I think other people were getting them too.”
The top secret memo hasn’t turned up anywhere else besides Lester’s book, however, and some archivists question its authenticity. A research technician at the JFK Library in Boston, who asked not to be named, was unable to find a carbon copy of it in its presidential archive, which holds copies of all of JFK’s letters.
“We did some research into the presidential papers to try to find any evidence of the Nov. 12, 1963, letter to the director of the CIA, John McCone,” the technician told Life’s Little Mysteries. Despite the fact that JFK kept carbon copies of all his letters, even the classified ones, “in searching through the president’s office files — CIA, NASA and National Security files — we could find no evidence of this memo or anything like it.”
“Something is a little odd about it,” the technician said. “It is sanitized in very odd places: the director’s name, the top heading of the document (which usually distinguishes which agency is generating it) and then the tiny “top secret” print at the top of letter. Top secret items are usually stamped in large dark ink on the letter.“
The publicized documents once again convinced ufologists that the president was killed because of his interest in UFOs. According to paranormal researchers, behind the tragic death of Kennedy were people who were not interested in the head of state who was wildly popular among ordinary Americans, to learn the truth about UFOs.
Supporters of the conspiracy theory in connection with newly discovered circumstances recall other documents: the sensational “burned memo.” In 1999, ufologist Timothy Cooper was given a certain document with charred fields. The papers contained internal correspondence of senior CIA officers. In particular, the director of intelligence services drew the addressee’s attention to the fact that ‘Lancer’(Kennedy’s Secret Service code name) was too actively making inquiries, and his curiosity needed to be stopped.
It was reported that this top-secret file, subject to destruction, was saved from the fire by a CIA officer who served in the department from 1960 to 1974. The authenticity of the document was repeatedly questioned, and its last owner even turned to forensic experts for a professional opinion. However, the examination results have not yet been made public.
UFO investigator Robert Wood said he has tested the paper it was printed on, the ink age, watermarks, font types and other markings. He said: ‘I hired a forensics company to check the age of the ink and check several other things that you can date, using the same techniques you’d use in a court of law.’
