Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

Many people capture illuminated, circular spots in their photographs. These spots are commonly known as orbs. Some people explain orbs as light reflected off surrounding surfaces; some explain them as light reflected off dust particles; and some explain them as spirits or other entities normally invisible to the human eye.
Little research has been done on this phenomenon, but Dr. Gary E. Schwartz and Adjunct Research Professor of Optical Sciences Katherine Creath at the University of Arizona did publish a study on orbs in 2005.

They said most orbs can be explained by the reflection of the camera’s flash off of objects on the scene, or off of dust. However, Schwartz and Creath acknowledged that some orbs seem to defy conventional optical explanation.
An orb captured in a BBC documentary, for example, moved slowly before disappearing. Schwartz and Creath write: “It is not possible to explain orbic objects such as these that move in dynamic and unpredictable paths as being caused by stray reflections. It is also not possible to explain many of them as being caused by dust particles in the air."

This documentary was filmed using a high-end infrared camera mounted on a tripod, eliminating some of the factors the researchers say often cause orbs in photos taken with inexpensive cameras.
Schwartz and Creath continue: “It is neither logical nor responsible at this point to conclude that every [orb] … observed worldwide can be explained by a conventional optical science mechanism such as stray reflection.”
In their view, however, most orbs can be explained by conventional optical science and new explanations for the anomalous orbs may develop.

Back in 2011 we reported "Nasa Reports First Evidence Of Flowing Water On Mars". In latest update, US space agency Nasa said on Monday its Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Odyssey orbiter have sent back clues that liquid water may still exist today on the Red Planet.
The spacecraft spotted "dark, finger-like markings" that advance down some Martian slopes when temperatures rise, as well as corresponding seasonal changes in iron minerals on the same slopes, Xinhua quoted Nasa as saying
One suggested explanation for the phenomenon is that "brines with an iron-mineral antifreeze", like ferric sulfate, could flow seasonally on parts of Mars, it said.
Researchers call these dark flows "recurring slope lineae (RSL)" and so far they have found 13 confirmed RSL sites on Mars, according to the space agency.
"We still don't have a smoking gun for existence of water in RSL, although we're not sure how this process would take place without water," said Lujendra Ojha, lead author of two reports published in the journals Geophysical Research Letters and Icarus.
Although the team did not find any spectral signature tied to water or salts, they did find distinct and consistent spectral signatures of ferric and ferrous minerals at most of the confirmed RSL sites.
The researchers said these iron-bearing minerals were more abundant or featured distinct grain sizes in RSL-related materials as compared to non-RSL slopes.
"Just like the RSL themselves, the strength of the spectral signatures varies according to the seasons. They're stronger when it's warmer and less significant when it's colder," Ojha said.
One possible explanation for these changes is a sorting of grain sizes, such as removal of fine dust from the surface, which could result from either a wet process or dry one, the researchers said.
Other explanations could be an increase in the more-oxidized component of the minerals, or an overall darkening due to moisture. Either of these would point to water, even though no water was directly detected, they noted.
The researchers also compared new observations with images from previous years, revealing that RSL are much more abundant some years than others.

This unedited account was forwarded to me in 2010 by the eyewitness who now resides in California. Since that time, I received another (similar) version from an investigator who followed-up on the encounter after I had posted it. Anyway…it is an extremely odd incident, though it does somewhat parallel a reported experience I had in my personal archives. I will detail that account later in the post:
Hello, I had an extremely frightening experience several years ago that I had no idea what was going on, but when I happened to run across a description of the MIB (which I had never even heard about except for passing references to the Will Smith movie), I suddenly realized this is extremely similar to what I experienced. My mouth dropped open at the similarity.
What happened was, I used to be a postal delivery person in Washington, D.C. One of the buildings I always delivered mail to on my route was this huge building. One day I had paused to eat an apple outside the building, and not seeing a trashcan anywhere, I just threw the core onto the ground. When I walked into the building to deliver the mail, I was angrily confronted by the head security guy who asked me why I was littering. I was a little taken aback and asked him how he knew I had thrown the apple core on the ground. He told me that this whole premises was under video surveillance, including not only all sides of the building but even the grassy areas around it. It was then that I suddenly realized this building had really unusually tight security. Even when I went inside to deposit the mail, the mail room was open to me, but the rest of the building was inaccessible. I could only go into the mail room, deposit the mail, and leave. I had to ring a buzzer to be let into the building each time I delivered.
Anyway, a few weeks later, I was on my way to deliver the mail as usual to the building, and as I was nearing the building, I saw three figures crossing the street on their way towards the building. At first glance I thought they were normal. But as I looked closer I was shocked at how strange they were – they were extremely thin, and they didn’t walk by putting one leg in front of the other, but sort of waddled by moving their whole bodies from side to side, lifting one foot off the ground, then the other foot in a sort of whole-body side-to-side waddle. It’s hard to explain what I mean, but it was not the way any normal person would walk unless they were unable to move any joint in their legs.
But as strange as this was, this was not what frightened me. What frightened me was that they were absolutely thin. It was like they were as flat as a set of clothes that had been ironed. Their faces and bodies were entirely flat – no contours. The nose did not jut out, nothing. And they were also extremely thin. The best I could describe is if you saw a suit hanging from a clothes hanger, that would be about the same thickness. It was like no thickness at all, just clothes hanging from a hanger. All three were dressed in black suits. They all had black sunglasses.
I saw them walk up, ring the buzzer, and be let into the building. I was absolutely scared sh*tless as I had just been about to enter that very same building. I really wasn’t sure what to do, but I kind of steeled myself, and slowly forced myself to ring the buzzer and enter the building, figuring, hey, I might have imagined this, in any case I should force myself to go through my routine until I can think this thing out. When I entered the mail room, there were like 10 (normal) men standing there, just looking at me. It was really intimidating. They asked me if I had seen anything. I was kind of speechless for a second, not knowing how to respond. And then one of THEM walked right up to me from the side and from slightly behind me. I could tell it was one of the same types of things that I had seen crossing the street. It walked right up to me and I was too afraid to turn my head to the side and look at it. I am very scared just typing this right now, remembering it. It didn’t say anything, it just got right up close to me, and I had a feeling of fear so intense, I felt as if my heart had just frozen and was going to fall out of my body onto the ground. Again, they asked me, “Did you see anything? What did you see?” I just shook my head and stammered, “No, I didn’t see anything.” Unless they were all retarded there is no way they couldn’t have noticed my extreme fright. I thought they might hold me there and not let me go. But finally they said, “Okay, leave now.”
The MIB that was to my side and a little behind me, kind of took a step back to make way, and I had to steel myself to actually walk past it on my way to the door and I was out of the building. It is the bravest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
At the time I had never heard of the MIB, I had no idea what this thing was or what the government was doing. All I knew was that I was dealing with something far more powerful than me. I thought maybe it was some new type of robot and the government was doing test-runs on them, but why that would be done in broad daylight I could not and still do not understand. To give you an understanding of how frightening it was, the first thought that came to my mind was that I needed to leave the country – to find some way to get the h*ll out of the country and go somewhere else – but then it occurred to me that if I started to act strangely, they might get suspicious and kill me or something. I realized the best thing I could do was act as normally as possible and pretend nothing had happened.
Later the next week, my supervisor at the post office told me I had been suddenly reassigned from my old route to a new one, something that was unexpected. He asked me if I had encountered any problems on the route – I think even he may have been a little confused at why I was being reassigned. But I said I had no problems and I was very quiet about it. So eventually I got reassigned. After what I thought was an appropriate amount of time continuing to work at the post office, I quit my job and now I work at an airport. I am telling this story now because I need to get this off my chest. I doubt they will come after me now but if they do, I can’t avoid my fate. I’ve never seen any sort of alien or had any sort of unusual life event of any other kind, nor do I believe that there is such a thing as a devil or demons or anything. So I really don’t know what to believe now. There is no doubt whatsoever the building was under the control of the government, with normal human beings. I still think it was some sort of cyborg experiment, and on occasion I still am tempted to just leave the country to get away from all this.
NOTE: This is actually not the first time I have read a MIB described as thin and having a strange side-to-side gait. I went through some notes and found the notation of an incident that occurred in the theearly 1990′s here in Baltimore, MD. There had been an automobile accident on I-95 not far from downtown near the Washington Blvd. exit where a witness described a similar looking ‘person’ (thin, dressed in a black suit, fedora and sunglasses) ‘who waddled back and forth like a penguin’ away from a black Crown Victoria that was stopped near the scene. This ‘person’ got to the guard rail and hopped over it with ease and disappeared. The local news didn’t make note of this ‘person’ though it was reported in the local ‘City Paper’ a week after the accident. I searched for other references to this incident but have not been successful…Lon

Another geographical triangle, located in the middle of Lake Michigan. It, too, is the site of mysterious disappearances of both land and sea craft….similar characteristics of the Bermuda Triangle, including ghost ships, strange disappearances and even UFO sightings. “There’s been some strange disappearances out there, there’s been many ships that have been lost that haven’t been found.” Bill Wangemann is a historian from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He’s spent a lifetime gathering tales about the Lake Michigan triangle. the legend doesn’t end with sunken ships; nearly 40 planes have disappeared over Lake Michigan too. Probably the most famous is northwest airlines flight 2501 that took off from New York City headed for Minneapolis in June of 1950 and plunged into Lake Michigan just off Benton Harbor. No one survived. Then, there are the sightings of UFO’s and other strange anomalies in the sky. In fact there have been so many sightings of strange objects and phantom planes that the Federal Aviation Administration created a special lake reporting service to catalog the reported sightings. And yet still, thousands make the journey through the Triangle every season. “There’s dozen’s of these stories about different things that have occurred out there and people that have been lost and sailors that have disappeared off of ships and some people claim that there is something supernatural going on out on the lake,” says Wangemann.
The wreck of the schooner Rosa Belle and the loss of 11 crew members and passengers, all members of the Benton Harbor cult House of David, shocked the nation in the fall of 1921. The wreck was discovered on Oct. 30, floating upside down by the Grand Trunk car ferry Ann Arbor No. 4. The captain of the ferry said it appeared as if the schooner had been in a collision with another vessel. But no other ship was found to have been in a collision that week. The aft section was smashed, the cabin was wrenched away from the deck and the ship’s rigging was floating loosely about the hull. The mystery of what happened to the Rosa Belle was never solved. Strange too was the fact that it was the second almost identical wreck for the Rosa Belle. The vessel capsized in the same area and drifted ashore near Grand Haven, Michigan, in August, 1875. Ten crew members were lost. The wreck was recovered at that time and rebuilt. Among the strangest of the mysteries was the disappearance of the schooner Thomas Hume, which disappeared without a trace in a Lake Michigan gale on May 21, 1891, while sailing empty from Chicago to Muskegon, Michigan to pick up a load of lumber. Seven sailors, including Captain George C. Albrecht, were lost with the ship. Even though the lake was searched thoroughly, not a stick of lumber or piece of flotsam from a wreck was ever found. Old sailors speculated that the Hume, a wooden vessel, could not have sunk without some wreckage floating away. To this day, the Hume’s disappearance remains unsolved. Cave Creek, AZ – 7/20/2003: We were on a camping trip in the black mountains about 45 miles north of downtown Phoenix. We first felt an abundance of static electricity in the calmnight air. We stepped out of our tent to get some air when we saw numerous swirling lights. We were all very startled and stayed close together not knowing what to expect. We watched intensely as we saw the lights merge intoone and slowly descend into a clearing approximately 75 feet away. We walked towards the object and saw three beings walk out and slowly look over their craft as if something was wrong with it. They beings looked man like but walked in an exaggerated upright way and very stiffly. It was at this moment that wewere noticed and we all walked toward the beings against our wishes. It felt like we were on a treadmill being drawn toward the craft. The next 45 minutes are very hurtful and make me sick to even think about. World’s Oldest Underground Fire Has Been Burning For 6000 Years In Australia
A subterranean coal seam fire in Australia has been burning continuously for more than six millennia.
The region is known as ‘Burning Mountain’, a hill North of Sydney that was first documented by European explorers. Originally believed to be volcanic in nature, the smoke rising from the ground on the hill wasn’t recognized as a coal seam fire until 1829.
It isn’t clear exactly what sparked the fire in the first place however possibilities include a lighting strike, a forest fire or even aboriginal burning practices.
In some regions coal seam fires are actually quite common, especially in places where coal mining has exposed the seams to heat and oxygen. Often extremely difficult to put out the fires can last for a long time, but 6,000 years is still a record that is unlikely to be broken any time soon. Read more at Gizmodo
Nine newfound penny-sized pieces of parchment belonging to the Dead Sea Scrolls laid unopened for nearly six decades before they were rediscovered in Israel.
The scrolls went unnoticed for years until one scholar came across them while searching through the Israel Antiquities Authority’s (IAA) storerooms, the Times of Israel reported.
“Either they didn’t realize that these were also scrolls, or they didn’t know how to open them,” the IAA’s head of artefact treatment and conservation Pnina Shor explained.
The tiny scrolls were found inside three phylacteries, small leather boxes with Biblical versus written on them (called tefillin) that are worn by Jews during their morning prayers. Their discoverer, Yonatan Adler, had the boxes scanned by CT at a hospital in Israel in hopes there would be parchment inside.
He was right.
Once unopened, the scrolls are expected to shed new light on the religious practices of the Jewish people during the Second Temple Period between the years of 530 BC and 70, an era named for a holy place of worship for the Jewish people that was constructed by the builder of ancient Jerusalem King Herod. The Dome of the Rock stands today where the Second Temple purportedly once stood.
At least two dozen phylactery scrolls were discovered in the 1940s and 50 along with the rest of the Dead Sea Scrolls in a limestone cave in the West Bank’s Qumran in Israel.
“[I] found a number of fragments of tefillin cases from Qumran Cave 4, together with seven rolled-up [phylactery] slips,” Adler told the Times of Israel.
Until now, the scrolls remained bound inside the phylacteries for approximately 2,000 years.
The IAA has been tasked with the difficult job of unrolling the scrolls without damaging them.
“We’re going to do it slowly, but we’ll first consult with all of our experts about how to go about this,” said Schor, who would not reveal when the process would start. “We need to do a lot of research before we start doing this.”

The event discussed here took place a little over a year ago. Due to personal reasons, the protagonist wished to keep her identity a secret and I shall refer to her as “Patricia” in this narrative.
On Friday, 1 March 2013, Patricia – age 27 at the time – was in the kitchen of her house. The time was around 17:15 hours and having completed some chores, she was taking a break. Patricia's kitchen has a window from which the trees of neighboring houses can be seen. Specifically, a palta (avocado tree) located in the back yard of a neighboring property.
She was looking at the bough of this tree when something caught her attention.
According to her story, she saw what she described as “a little man staring back at me” from between the branches and leaves of the tree. The “entity” in question (according to Patricia) was in a squatting position and staring at her fixedly. Alarmed, Patricia ran and called for her husband, who was in another part of their home, to show him what was on the tree. When the husband reached the kitchen and looked through the window, he saw nothing unusual. He tried to calm her down (Patricia was excited and kept repeating “I swear I saw it, it was in the trees, looking at me”), and a few moments later, knowing my interest for events of this sort, she came to my home to tell me the experience.
Some hours later I asked her what she'd seen and asked her to give me as faithful a description as possible of the “little man” (as she called him), and to produce a sketch of the “being”. She told me at first that it reminded her of the character “Gollum” from The Lord of the Rings saga. She estimated its height at around one meter, despite not having seen the figure upright. It was very thin, hairless and with whitish eyes, “huddled” between the branches of the palta tree. She stressed the fact that it stared fixedly at her.
Patricia is quite certain about what she saw. I have known her for many years. She is a person with no interest whatsoever in the UFO phenomenon or in strange “events”, and is not in the least bit fantasy-prone. I am remarking this in my blog specifically because of the degree of trust she inspires in me.
I do not think the following has anything to do with what Patricia claims to have seen (and I do not know it for a fact), but in the months following the apparition, one of the residents of the house adjacent to the palta tree (a neighbor, known to me) contracted a serious disease. Weeks later, in 2014, I learned that this person had committed suicide on account of this malady.
I remain in contact with Patricia. Her life proceeds normally to this day and she has not seen anything out of the ordinary again, for the time being.

A Cleveland, TX, witness reported watching and photographing both a “tornado-looking cloud” just over nearby tree tops as well as “five bright colored orbs moving in a straight line,” according to testimony in Case 52015 closed as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle (UAV) March 3, 2014, from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness looked outside and first noticed a “white, tornado-shaped cloud” over tree tops about 7:50 p.m. on August 20, 2013.
“It was stationary and hovered over the treetops,” the witness stated. “I thought we were going to have a storm, but sky was blue and clear with no rain or thunderstorms. I thought it was strange how long it hovered over trees so I took some pictures.”
But then the witness noticed other strange objects that could not immediately be identified.
“As I took the pictures I noticed under the cloud were five orb-shaped objects that moved slowly under the cloud in a straight line and moved along until they were gone. Te cloud stayed for 15 minutes and then slowly disappeared.”
The case was investigated by Texas MUFON STAR Team Member Charles Stansburge. The case was closed as an Unknown UAV. Cleveland is a city in Liberty County, TX, population 7,954.

Various possible reasons of the missing jet and its location have filled in online aviation forums.

The most extreme explanation goes to UFO or alien theory. Some believe that extra-terrestrial might be the culprit of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight. UFO enthusiasts and believers are aware that Government has been hiding the truth about extra-terrestrials or UFOs since 1947. The plane took off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and headed to Beijing, China but the flight did not reach its destination as it lost contact somewhere over Vietnam. The plane just disappeared in radar screens from nearly an hour after takeoff in a good weather condition. There are unconfirmed reports about two oil slicks off the coast but no other signs of the plane. Still no wreckage being found.
There have been many reports about alien abducting ships and planes in the Bermuda Triangle and this incident is believed to continue as long as people sail those seas. Could the extra-terrestrials abducted another plane from another place?
According to Malaysia Airlines chief executive officer Ahmad JauhariYahya, they’re considering all the possibilities as of the moment as they still have no clue on the reason of the disappearance.

On February 8, 2014, a UFO was observed near Roma (Italy). A person saw a strange bright object and made a video. Intrigued by the finding, they informed about the video the Centro Ufologico Mediterraneo (C.UFO.M) whose president, dr. Angelo Carannante, has received the interesting video on the mail of official website, www.centroufologicomediterraneo.it, and alerted the specialists of the research center.

A little over a month ago, Facebook and other social media blew up with a photo showing a strange, crab-like humanoid standing by the side of the road between Lybrook and Counselor, NM…very close to the Jicarilla Apache reservation.
The story that accompanied the creepy photo was that a geologist working in the area noticed something strange, and decided to take a heat signature of it. The geologist promptly quit the next day under mysterious circumstances and the photo of the alleged skin walker surfaced on the internet, causing a huge sensation, being shared thousands of times within mere hours. Many believed that the creature was indeed a Skin Walker, or a magical person with the ability to transform into an animal-like creature. It is interesting to point out that the general area where the photo was allegedly taken is in the vicinity of the Skin Walker Ranch, a property with a long history of high strangeness, including UFOs, cattle mutations, and…skin walker beasts.
However, it didn't take long for the web warriors to put an end to the speculation! It was quickly discovered that the photo in question was actually a still from a MOVIE!
That movie would be the 1982 low-budget gruesome British sensation, Xtro. Released in the U.S. in 1983 and directed by Harry Bromley Davenport, Xtro is a sci-fi horror involving a man who was abducted by aliens, only to be returned three years later. Only…he wasn't the same when he returned.
Xtro became somewhat of a cult classic, spawning two sequels that had nothing to do with the original plot. As late as March 2011, Davenport claimed to be working on the next movie in the installment, Xtro IV. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything past that date confirming whether or not the movie was ever made…but it seems like this mysterious picture that no one is taking credit for posting might have been the perfect viral marketing ploy! It's definitely sparked an interest in the original movie with a generation who wasn't even born when it came out.
It's also an example of something I blogged about awhile back; the importance of cinematic research! As researchers, its SO important to keep up with pop culture…and how people can use pop culture to relate to, or in this case mimic, a paranormal event! So, go watch some horror films…even some really bad, cheesy 80s gems…and don't feel guilty about it; you're doing legitimate research.
