Virgin’s UFO prank frightens police on April Fools’ Day in 1989
One of the most elaborate UFO pranks ever staged was on April Fools’ Day in 1989 over London. Virgin, the famous venture capitalist conglomerate, is known for its April foolery, and the mastermind behind their pranks is Virgin’s founder Sir Richard Branson.
The mission to fly a UFO over London began as a top secret project code named “Project Wedgewood.” Cameron Balloons Limited in the town of Bristol, a bit less than 2 hours from London by car, was commissioned to build a massive UFO hot air balloon fully kitted out with strobe lights.

As to what happened next, Branson detailed the execution of the prank in a blog on World UFO Day (July 2) in 2013. Branson says they took off in the balloon at approximately 4 am, the strobe light blinking every 10 seconds. By the time the first light of dusk could be seen they had reached the M25, a major motorway leading into London.
Branson writes, “We could see every single vehicle grinding to a halt and hundreds of people looking up at the UFO flying over them.”

Newspapers said that Branson and his UFO were blown off target. The plan was to land in London’s Hyde Park, instead Branson had to set the UFO down in Surrey Field. Branson says they hadn’t realized the extent of the commotion their stunt was creating while they were in the air. The police and army had been alerted to their presence, and radio and TV stations were reporting the UFO over London.

When the balloon set down he says they were surrounded by police. The police appeared a bit hesitant to approach the strange aircraft. Branson says they “sent one lone policeman with his truncheon across the field to greet the alien.”
He continued, “The UFO’s door opened very slowly, with tonnes of dry ice billowing from it. A dwarf that we had carried on board, dressed in an ET outfit, walked down the platform towards the bobby. He promptly turned and ran in the opposite direction!”

Sir Branson of course thought this prank was pretty funny, but the police were not amused, at least not at first. Branson says, “The police initially didn’t see the funny side of it and threatened to arrest us for wasting their time. But they soon joined in the general merriment of it.”
Branson says, “Every April Fools Day we love to come up with a major fun prank that pulls peoples legs and makes them smile.”
This year, Virgin has conspired with the climate control company Nest for their April Fools’ Day fun. Branson, along with Nest CEO Tony Fadell, introduce an incredible new personal climate control feature on Virgin America airlines in the promotional video below. Although, if it sounds too good to be true, it is because, unfortunately, it is.
On March 10, I received information concerning Steve Douglass's sighting of an interesting, triangular-shaped aircraft over Amarillo, Texas. Both Steve and his colleague, Dean Muskett, actually succeeded in photographing this aircraft, even though the results were not very clear. However, the shape was definitely not a shape of a B-2.
Steve Douglass is long-time military aviation researcher and photographer who has been following the Black Budget programs such as those at Area 51 in Nevada. Bill Sweetman is a contributor to AWST magazine.
Regarding this important sighting of March 10, I quote from the AVIATION WEEK blog.

“As far as I know, this sort of thing has happened only once since 1956.
That was when British magazines started getting eyewitness accounts and grainy photos of the Lockheed U-2, then operating out of RAF Lakenheath on its first spy flights over the Soviet Union.
Classified programs have been exposed in all sorts of ways since then – for example, the A-12 Blackbird was disclosed under a degree of pressure – but until the RQ-170 Sentinel was seen at Kandahar in 2007-09 there has been no such aircraft photographed before it was declassified.
(And in the case of the RQ-170, the operational security people were not trying too hard.)
With that in mind, let's look at the photos taken by Steve Douglass and Dean Muskett of an aircraft seen over Amarillo on March 10.

Guy and I have known Steve Douglass for a long time, and know that the reason that he sees (and monitors by radio) unusual things is that he spends time looking for them.

The photos tell us more about what the mysterious stranger isn't than what it is.
The size is very hard to determine, for example, although the image size at contrailing height suggests that it is bigger than an X-47B.
However, the basic shape – while it resembles Boeing's Blended Wing Body studies or the Swift Killer Bee/Northrop Grumman Bat unmanned air system – is different from anything known to have flown at full size, lacking the notched trailing edge of Northrop Grumman's full-size designs.
The aircraft seen here was accompanied by two others. This and the fact that Steve picked up some apparently related voice traffic suggests that the aircraft is piloted: I doubt that you'd dispatch three large, classified unmanned aircraft anywhere in formation.
The risk of a midair would be present, and such an event would be non-career-optimal.
It's not merely logical to expect that numerous classified aircraft programs exist: it's almost a necessity under the principle of Occam's Razor, because if they don't, you have to contrive some sort of explanation for what Area 51 has been up to all these years.
One avenue of speculation is to look at gaps in the USAF's line-up.
One obvious example is high-precision stealth attack: The B-2 and F-22 have the ability to drop GPS-inertial weapons on coordinates generated or updated by radar, but that's not the same as electro-optical targeting and laser guidance, which seemingly went away with the retirement of the F-117 six years ago: that technology gives you strike damage assessment as well as greater accuracy.
The USAF has also talked about “penetrating, stand-in electronic attack” as an enabler for other strike systems – and talked in the same way about penetrating intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, even when the Northrop Grumman RQ-180 was under development to perform that mission.”
Miller went to work the next day to an Air Force office. Three men in black suits arrived. They said they were from the government, but showed no credentials. In a very brash manner, they queried Miller as to if he was being truthful, but they already knew every detail of the incident. “We have a report,” they informed. They examined the boots that Miller was wearing that night. “They seemed to know everything about me; where I worked, my name, everything else,” Miller said. Carlos de Santos Montiel was flying his Piper PA-24 plane over Tlalpan, Mexico on May 3, 1975 when he was besieged by 3 disc-like objects that escorted de Santos for some time. The plane would not respond at first, but the 23-year-old regained control and landed at the Benito Juarez International Business Airport. “They were disc-shaped, about three to four meters in diameter without antennas,” said Carlos, “had a dull gray fuselage and a sort of windshield, all without rivets and completely smooth.”
Following his encounter, a black limousine coached Carlos to a stop. A man in a black suit prevented Carlos from leaving his car and he noticed four men with wide shoulders, resembling Scandinavians with pasty skin. “Listen kid, if you value your life,” demanded one of the men, “do not talk to anyone about what you saw.”
A month later, June 1975, waiting at a tavern to speak to UFO researcher/astronomer J. Allen Hynek, one of the same MIBs approached Carlos. “We warned you not to talk,” the MIB threatened. APPEARS IN ANY FORM
In 1924, Newsman John Cole went to investigate a crashed plane in Braxton County, West Virginia. A man in a suit met him. The man had high cheekbones, slant eyes, and dark skin. He informed Cole that “no one was hurt and no crime committed.” The man was also looking for a “thingamajig”. At 3:00 a.m., an Army officer came, having the same foreign appearance, making demands about the same object (John Keel, The Cosmic Question, Panther Granada Publishing, 1978.).
“Some people believe that the world’s governments are in cahoots to suppress information on the subject, have spread the idea that the ‘Men in Black’ are CIA agents,” said researcher Linda Murphy in Astronet Review No. 1, February 1, 1992, “but this hypothesis is difficult to maintain in view of the evidence for their world-wide appearances, the uniformity and peculiarity of their looks, and strangeness of their conduct.”
“Study of 32 of the more reliable cases on file reveals the many details diverge markedly from the archetypal story: there were, for instance, no visitors at all in four cases, only subsequent telephone calls,” said Orbis Publishing, 1991, “The Unexplained”, No.10, “and, for the remainder, only five involved three men, two involved four, five involved two, while in the rest there was mention only of a single visitor.”
Some researchers even maintained that the famed September 19, 1961 UFO abduction of Barney and Betty Hill near Portsmouth, New Hampshire indicated a paranormal and mystical nature of the “visitors”. John Fuller’s The Interrupted Journey fully examined the episode (Penguin Group, 1975.).
Described as “red-headed Irishman”, one of the “visitors” that appeared was wearing “a shiny black coat and black scarf”. The creatures had strange insect-like faces with wide, thin mouths, huge slanting eyes that seemed to glow and went around the creatures’ heads. “The point is that we Americans are building a mythology for ourselves,” said Linda Murphy, February 1, 1992 in Astronet Review, No. 1, “just as the Europeans did with their tales of dragons, ogres and elves, and just as all people have done in all parts of the world in all ages.”
THE DEVIL
Linda Murphy continued: “The devil, for example, was very often described as a man dressed in black. The ability to change shape and appear in any form was common, attributed to demons…the same range of physical symptoms reported by those who encountered the MIBs.”
George Hansen in The Trickster and the Paranormal (Xlibris Corporation, Error! Hyperlink reference not valid..) denoted such a phenomenon as “the Trickster”: “The ‘Trickster’ is a character type that appears worldwide in folklore and mythology. The term was probably first introduced in this context in 1885 by Daniel G. Brinton. Virtually all cultures have Tricksters, and there are innumerable examples; a few include: coyote of North American Indians, Hermes of the Greeks, Elegiac of West Africa, and Loki of the Norse. There is considerable diversity among them. At one end are primitive buffoons, at the other, gods.”
“….there is a strong case here for psychic aspects of UFOs,” said Jacques Vallee, “but just saying that UFOs belong to the realm of psychic phenomenon doesn’t explain them.” Vallee added: “”It may be that there is inherent in our species, a sort of built-in defense mechanism, that reveals itself only in times of extreme social stress, and one of its manifestations is the phenomenon known as UFOs….that certainly produces some very unusual biological consequences….a triggering of a genetic process….people seeing things in the sky, and various physical effects might even result.” (The Edge of Reality: A Progress Report on Unidentified Flying Objects. J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee, Henry Regnery Company. Chicago, Illinois 60601, 1975.)
ALTERNATE AND HIDDEN CIVILIZATIONS
Jacques Vallee was describing a very peculiar liminality to the social “chemistry” of the physical and parapsychological basis of the UFO phenomenon. That reality intimately permeated the intricate inner-structure of this unusual activity.
Researchers, such as Peter Levenda, said that a secret space program and society fit into this “mix” (Secret Space Program, Amsterdam International Conference, April 3, 2011.). Very early in the 20th century, inventors and wealth entered a “matrix” of technology and mysticism beyond popular funds and resources into programs well advanced ahead of common knowledge.
This airship was created in 1904 by the Thule Hollow Earth Society to help them explore the underworld through the opening at the North Pole. It carried a full accompaniment of weaponry that allowed them to successfully attack and defeat Baron VonClaus' legion of mutant dwarves, thereby taking over his outpost and manufacturing facilities. Utilizing the captured VonClaus anti-gravity drive made possible the creation of the flying saucers that would be later acquired by Adolph Hitler in 1943. Equipped with an anti-gravity drive for propulsion, the Groser Auk was last flown by dwarves that escaped from the VonClaus work camp and were shot down by Nazi flying saucers over Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. The survivors were indefinitely detained by the U.S. military and along with remains of the airship, were relocated to the Area 51 facility for national security reasons.
Two of Jules Verne novels, “Robur le Conquerant” (1896) and its sequel, “Maitre du Monde” (1904), inspired the Albatross. This Heavier-than-air Warcraft became the centerpiece of the movie “Master of the World” (1961) adapted to the big screen by Richard Matheson. It starred Vincent Price as Robur, the half-mad genius and captain of the Albatross

The “Mystery Airship Phenomena” of the late 1890s are a case in point, and some researchers, such as Jim Marrs (Rule by Secrecy, HarperCollins Publisher, 2001. Our Occulted History, HarperCollins Publisher, 2013.) spoke about a salient technology that existed through the years beyond surface culture, including inventors such as Jack Parsons (1936), the Nazi culture and science of the Third Reich, the Mysticism of the Nine (1952), Operation Paperclip, and much more.
Science-fiction writers such as Jules Verne (Robur the Conqueror) and H.G. Wells (The Shape of Things to Come), as was so often true in fiction prophecy, seemed to visualize life that was about to become reality. Modern day writers look back and see things as they might have been (Dawn of Steam: First Light Paperback by Jeffrey Cook and Sarah Symonds, 2014).
A list of theories and case histories have been gradually advancing along the lines that Jim Marrs and Jacques Vallee spoke of – Leonardo Da Vinci secrets, the Sonora Aero Club at the dawn of the century, and other mysterious industries. Sometimes referred to as the “Illuminati” (more recently as the Military-Industrial-Complex), these True Believers adjoin this “elite” of a global and superior technology that would possibly explain the antics of the Men in Black. The activities included the strange UFO incidents and various political confluences that “swim under the radar”.

CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A STRANGE BOOMERANG OVER BLOCK ISLAND, RHODE ISLAND
JULY 13, 1969 ….. NEW SHOREHAM RHODE ISLAND
During the summer of 1969, when I was eighteen years old, I visited Block Island. After the ferry boat from New London, Conn., arrived in New Shoreham, I headed out alone to Black Rock Point a little past the Mohegan Bluffs on the island’s south coast. There, I found an abandoned, weather-beaten, wooden lean-to shaped like a Boy Scout’s tent sunken into one of the bluffs, about halfway up the slope, or just a little more. I’ve always called it a “lean-to,” but strictly speaking, it was a bit different in that the two narrower sides were open and the roof came to a peak in the middle. It was nine or ten feet long and maybe five feet high at the peak. After awhile the tide came in, and along with the darkness, a thick fog. That night I heard all sorts of strange sounds, which I attributed to fatigue, nerves, and the noise of the sea and wind. At first I thought I heard voices on the shore below but there was no sign of any visitor. “My ears are playing tricks on me,” I thought. After awhile, it seemed as if several people were speaking a few feet away, near the farther end of the lean-to. Yet their words were not quite recognizable; it was as if they were speaking in an adjacent dimension. This too I chalked up to nerves. Then there was a loud crash against the front wall of the lean-to, the side that faced the sea, as if it had been struck by a rock. This was no figment of my imagination. In terror, I ran outside, and called out. But there was no reply. I tried to examine the wall of the lean-to, but could hardly see a thing in the dark. The wind was blowing and the tides were making a lot of noise at the shore below. I quickly scrambled up the steep clay incline, using both my hands and feet. The fog was so thick that I was nearly blind, but dared not stop. As I got over the crest, I sensed a presence over my head, but I didn’t look up; just kept running into the miasma across the bed of rubbery green stuff that grew profusely atop the bluffs. A moment later I found myself encircled in a wide ring of light, despite the fog. It was as if a huge floodlight had been focused on me from above as I ran, although this seemed to be physically impossible, given the fog.
Then on the upper periphery of my vision, I saw what I first imagined was a giant bird about the size of a small plane silently gliding over my head, seeming to shut off the light as it flew by. (In the MUFON checklist, I called this a boomarang shape, but it’s really hard to be sure. The sizes and distances are also very rough guesses. And I never saw it in proximity to the horizon, just when it was above me.) I kept running. Eventually I reached the paved road and hitched a ride back to town with two guys around nineteen or twenty years old who lived on the island with their families. On the way, they asked me what I had been doing near Black Rock Point at night. When I told them what had just occurred, they were astonished. “Didn’t you notice that all of the houses out there are empty? Everyone knows—that’s the most haunted part of the Island! Nobody goes out there after dark!” Because of this, for decades I believed that the entire episode was some sort of poltergeist phenomenon. But now I’m inclined to believe that it was a UFO experience – my first and I hope, my last. NOTE: The above image is a rendering.

Later this month, the book that John Burroughs, Jim Penniston and I have written about the Rendlesham Forest incident will be published. “Encounter in Rendlesham Forest” is being put out by Thomas Dunne Books, part of the Macmillan publishing house – one of the so-called “Big Six” in the literary world. Without giving away too many spoilers, what can people expect and what will the revelations mean for ufology?
First of all, I should say something about the unique way in which this book has been written. All too often, it seems to me, witnesses get a raw deal when it comes to getting across the details of their encounters. This is particularly true on TV, where a one or two hour interview is often edited down to a handful of sound bites, mixed in with a deep-voiced narration and a dramatic (often CGI) re-creation, and ends up only telling half the story – usually the half that everyone has heard before! When it comes to books, witnesses tend to have their stories retold by ufologists, who invariable end up mangling some of the details and bringing too many of their personal opinions and biases into the story. We decided to try something a little different.
Originally, John and Jim had planned to write a book themselves, and with that plan in mind, they asked if I would contribute a chapter detailing the UK government’s involvement in the story. Having worked on the Ministry of Defence’s UFO project and having undertaken a cold case review of the Rendlesham Forest incident in 1994, I was happy to do so, and wrote up an account of the MoD’s role, that ran to somewhere between 8000-10,000 words. At that stage, we discussed the possibility of collaborating, with the combination of the two main witnesses and a government UFO investigator working together being a unique way to take things forward.
Our collaboration covers three main areas. Firstly, the book itself; secondly, the ongoing investigation into the incident and its aftermath; and thirdly, the related campaign to secure the release of John and Jim’s military medical records, from the classified records section of the Department of Veterans Affairs. This third strand of the collaboration not only has political support in the US, but the involvement of a crusading lawyer, Pat Frascogna. A federal lawsuit may not be far away.
“Encounter in Rendlesham Forest” has to strike a difficult balance. First and foremost, it’s the story of what happened to John Burroughs and Jim Penniston, the two witnesses at the heart of the Rendlesham Forest incident. It tells the story of the encounter, and of what happened afterwards in terms of the debriefings and the wider official response, through John and Jim’s eyes. But while their account is central to the book, we’ve made sure that we broadened the focus, so as to give a wider and more comprehensive picture of what happened. We’ve also placed the events in their correct politico/military context, which goes much further than simply saying – as most ufologists do – that it happened at the time of the Cold War and that the rise in power of the Polish trade union Solidarity was causing tension. That’s certainly true, but the story of a military exercise codenamed Soyuz-80, a Polish colonel who spied for the CIA, and just how close we came to a Third World War in December 1980 is worthy of closer study. This is the sort of area we examine in our book.
We’ve tried to take an evenhanded view of the various theories (conventional and exotic) that have been put forward over the years, and there are more than a few surprises. The idea that the local lighthouse might have been responsible turns out only to be well-known because it’s a visual theory, and thus attractive to TV documentary filmmakers. There are, as it transpires, three much stronger skeptical theories.
We look at a number of government documents that have a bearing on the case. Some of these are newly obtained, while others have been available previously, but without their significance having been picked up. Applying some of the knowledge and experience that I picked up in the MoD has enabled us to show how sometimes, important things can be hidden in plain sight. How much of this is accidental and how much is deliberate is open to debate.
In recent months, the UFO community has been rocked by Jim Penniston’s sensational revelations about what’s been dubbed the “telepathic download” of a sequence of ones and zeroes. The Rendlesham Code has been previously interpreted as a message of some sort, in binary code. We tell the full story of this extraordinary and most controversial of developments, and offer some entirely new thoughts on what it might mean.
This has been a difficult book to write. Quite apart from the exhaustive research and investigation, collaborations are often tricky. I think John, Jim and I are all strong characters, and inevitably this has led to some lively discussions and debates over certain aspects of the text! We could have chosen to smooth over these differences, and compromise. We’ve chosen not to, as while this might have been more diplomatic, we think it would have been dishonest. Accordingly, where we disagree on things, we say so!
Following on from the point above, we haven’t pulled our punches in this book. John and Jim, in particular, are extremely outspoken at times, particularly in addressing how the chain of command treated the witnesses in the aftermath of the encounters themselves. They’re plain speakers and straight shooters, so we took the decision that although one of us had to be lead writer (I drew the short straw!), we’d be careful not to tone down the text by means of me trying to paraphrase John and Jim’s views. Accordingly, we use direct quotes where possible, to make it abundantly clear to readers who’s saying what.
I doubt that “Encounter in Rendlesham Forest” will be universally popular in the UFO community. We’ll probably end up trampling on a few egos at both ends of the belief spectrum, by not necessarily buying into the pet theories of various true believers and die-hard debunkers. But for those who want the full story of a UFO case that I genuinely believe is bigger and more compelling than Roswell, I humbly ask that you buy, beg, borrow – but not steal – a copy! What we’ve tried to do is reverse the usual ‘outsiders looking in’ dynamic of UFO books, and give readers the ‘insiders looking out’ perspective. We’ve used our knowledge, background and experience to tell the story not just of the incident and its aftermath, but of the true role played by government, the military and the intelligence community, not just in this case, but in relation to the UFO phenomenon more generally.
Nick Pope is a former employee of the UK Ministry of Defense. From 1991 to 1994 he ran the British Government's UFO project and has recently been involved in a five-year initiative to declassify and release the entire archive of these UFO files. Location: Miami-Dade County Florida Date: late December 1989 Time: late night A woman living in the West Kendall area remembers apparently waking up one night lying on a hard table inside a brightly lit fluorescent room, in front of her stood a five-foot two-inch tall woman with black hair made up in a bun and with beautiful piercing blue eyes. The woman wore a white gown like outfit and communicated with the witness in a pleasant voice. The witness could see other indistinctive figures standing in the room; these appeared to be wearing aviator type suits. At one point an instrument with a two-prong tip was inserted in her right calf causing excruciating pain. The witness later woke up in her bed feeling extremely groggy and with a strange metallic taste in her mouth. Two red marks, round in shape were visible on her calf.

Location: Camajuani, Las Villas, Cuba Date: December 1953 Time: night Modesto Cabrera was on his way to visit his girlfriend and was walking through an isolated field. At about 30 meters from his girlfriend’s house he suddenly noticed by the trunk of a nearby palm tree a small hovering green light. He stopped staring at the light when it suddenly disappeared and in its place was a bizarre being leaning against the trunk of the tree. The being, according to Cabrera was the size of a man and resembled a cross between an iguana, a chameleon and an alligator, it had arms and legs like a human, and it had long black claw-like nails. It had a long tail that was moving slowly from side to side. Afraid he ran towards the house but thought about it and returned to the site to verify what he had seen. The creature was still standing by the trunk of the palm tree. Cabrera then ran towards it armed with a knife and the ran around the trunk of the palm trying to avoid him, it then suddenly performed four incredible leaps and ended up on the top of the palm tree. At this time the green light returned however this time it was directly above the palm tree and it was larger. Moments later the light disappeared and the creature was also gone.

Location: Krefeld, Germany Date: September 1981 Time: 01:00 a.m. Shortly after 1 o’clock in the morning, mailman Horst Wirtz was driving home from Krefeld, where he had gone bowling. He was going to his home in Tonisforst. He was supposed to drive straight at a certain traffic light, but instead followed an inner compulsion and turned right (in the direction of Kempen). Immediately afterwards he made a second right turn. His car was brought to a halt 6 to 8 meters after crossing the railroad tracks. In the field on his right, about 3-4 meters away, stood a small humanoid, about 1.60 m tall, clad in a silvery jumpsuit. Some 30 meters behind it was a bright object 4-4 m in diameter, about which bright colored lights were revolving. Remaining seated in his car, Horst Wirtz asked what was the matter and received the non-acoustic answer: “I see that you are afraid. I won’t come any closer.” The entity, which carried a small device in front of his chest, did not move its lips while these words were spoken. Again the witness asked, “What is going on here?” He glanced all around him looking for help. He heard something like “Zeta Reticuli” and “you are not yet ready, but we shall meet again.” Afterwards the humanoid turned around and walked toward the object. The revolving lights increased in brightness. Again Horst Wirtz looked around for help. When he looked back towards the field, all was dark. The light had vanished. Only a small bright dot was ascending towards the sky. His car started again. All in all, the episode had lasted some five minutes. Deeply disturbed and in a state of shock he arrived at home. He was so afraid, he was shaken by weeping spells. For night on-end he was unable to sleep. After telling his wife, both of them recalled having seen a UFO in the same place as early as 1978. Not until 1993, did Horst Wirtz decided to come out into the open and tell of his experience. He is not certain whether he remembers everything correctly, and he feels that “more may have happened” to him. However, Mr. and Mrs. Wirtz do not want to have anything more to do with the matter and refuse to be regressed hypnotically for fear the entity might return.

Location: Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada Date: December 23 2009 Time: 01:00 a.m. Hearing about a local legend about a ghost train that appears on an old railroad track located in the woods, just off an out of town road the witness decided to check it out as he was on his was to town. He was driving for a while and decided he needed a stretch, have a few cigarettes and get back on the road. He parked just off the road and made his way through the field to the woods. It was extremely dark. He heard some quick footsteps. He got scared but figured it must’ve been a baby deer or a fox. He remembers then smelling a strong odor, like chemicals, strong enough to make you cringe and ‘tingle your brain’. That’s the last he remembers being in the woods. He must’ve passed out but he awoke and was being led in a dark hallway. Something was communicating with him. It told him “not to worry,” and that “you will not be harmed.” For some reason he trusted it. The platform they were walking on seemed to cushion his every step. The creature appeared to be communicating with others but he couldn’t see anything else. Finally they approached a spherical room. They entered but nothing was there. Just two weird looking seats and the entrance. A dim bluish light illuminated from above. At this point he thought he was dreaming. The “thing” that was leading him appeared to be some sort of creature. It invited him into one of the seats as it took the other. This is where he observed its appearance. It was very short. It had dark skin. It had a large head with two large dark eyes. It had a visible nose, but no visible ears or mouth which is weird because it had a voice. It also had long limbs and long fingers. It appeared to have some sort of engraving on its chest. It also appeared to be injured. This creature and the witness had a conversation. It spoke to him. It asked him, “What are you?” He responded, “I am a human being.” It then asked him, “And this is your home, Earth?” He responded, “Yes, Why are you here?” It paused for some brief moments. Then it said, “Because the humans will face the exact same fate that the “Ithileceus” faced. The creature stated “Ithileceus”. The witness is guessing that’s how it spelled and he is guessing that’s the race of the creature. He then asked, “And what’s that?” It replied, “Extinction.” Before he could ask another question, it continued, “If the humans don’t build an Ostisuphrymicous, during the year 2065, they will perish and your world will become their world.” The witness asked, “What is an Ostisuphrymicous?” Then a small desk appeared from above them and landed in between them. A small sphere appeared. It seemed to emit some sort of energy. The creature just stared at it. It started to glow and he felt all his energy drain from his body. Then it stopped glowing. He felt exhausted and vulnerable. The creature said, “This one was built for use against your kind just in case you happened to portray some level of hostility. But after some observation, your kind is at most, harmless. We used the last of our resources to build it.” The witness cannot describe the sphere with words. He probably could only draw it. He asked the creature, “Where are you from?” The creature replied, “I am from a place far more advanced than this one. Approximately a thousand times more advanced. But my home is now home to invaders. My race was completely destroyed. I, as well as a few others, are all that remain in existence.” He asked, “Why are you helping us?” The creature replied, “It is our nature to aid those that we cross paths with. It appears that your planet is in a collection of several planets and as a group, appears to be in the path of the invaders that have taken our planet. I am simply warning you of what’s to come.” The witness still believed he was dreaming. The creature seemed to be able to read his thoughts and his feeling. The creature said, “As victims in a massive slaughtering, this makes us brothers in this universe. If you don’t survive, at least you will die fighting.” He tried to comprehend everything that was being told to him. But he just couldn’t believe it. The creature extended its hand out as to shake the witness hand. He reached out too and as their hands touched he went unconscious. The next thing he knew, he awoke on his bed. His clothes were still on, as well as his shoes. But his watch was missing. So was his wallet, his phone, his Ipod, his cigarettes and his lighter. He looked outside and his car was nowhere to be found. He asked a friend to drive him where he had stopped the night before. His car was still there but nothing else was found. He called his phone several times using his friend’s cell and each time there was an automatic pick-up. Each time he heard a weird humming noise, like a light saber and occasionally a beep. During the fourth call, it cut and all he got was the operator voice telling him the number was not assigned. After that day, he had several dreams of a global takeover, more than 6 to be exact.
Location: Slagelse Waestved Denmark Date: April 27 1960 Time: 03:00 a.m. N. N. a painter was driving at 0300A when he saw a brilliantly white luminous round object that rapidly approached, then stopped. His motor died & his headlights went out. The car came to a stop within 20 ft of the now “gray-green” glowing object, which was about 30 ft wide & 20 ft high, shaped like 2 bowls placed together, with a small superstructure on top. In the bottom half were 3 luminous portholes. Hovering about 10 ft above the ground, it put down 3 legs, & also a central cylinder. From the latter emerged 4 persons only 3 ft tall wearing green luminous costumes marked on the chest with 3 dark vertical stripes, the middle one the longest. They moved with slow, graceful movements, as if under water. A cable terminating in a square screen simultaneously slid out from the object, stopping when the screen was 6 ft from the car. The 4 beings, each carrying something like a “long, slender lantern,” proceeded to surround the car. They had rather “flat” faces; their mouths moved, but N. N. heard no speech; all he could hear was a faint humming sound from the UFO. After a short while the beings returned to their craft, the cable was retracted, and finally the legs were also retracted; the object rose with enormous speed, disappearing in seconds. The car’s ignition and lights went back on, and the observer’s watch, which had stopped for 4 minutes, again ran. He got out of the car and noticed a strange smell; in the ground were 3 holes, which were hot. Vegetation at the spot thereafter was slow to grow.
Out of Body Experiences (O.B.E.'s ) and Alien Abductions: No Fish Story, This
After observing an amazing flotilla of assembling UFOs overhead, it appeared, beyond logic, that alien entities climbed down the ladder of my awe to cause paranormal experiences.
I felt electric vibrations in bed and saw my body float out of my body, astral abduction of my spiritual essence, which retained all my predilections and discriminations, leaving my chopmeat DNA contrived body, behind in bed.
At first, I believed that I had died!
Out of body, I had sublime and terrifying experiences directly tied to my previous monitored thoughts.
This is one recollection that illustrates that alien-proprietary- monitored- consciousness, suffered by abductees:
I awakened slowly,and found myself underwater.
it was an experience real, in sensory totality, more than a vivid dream, another alien fingerprint, a nighttime OBE, Out-of-Body-Experience.
Alien entities specialize in astral abductions, more predatory of our spiritual essences, essences that we are barely aware of.
One's car is stopped on a lonely road and one ascends into an overhead waiting craft as one watches one's body in the car below recede from view.
But abductees rarely assess such contradictions, in their daily functioning concepts, of 'self'.
In this experience, under twenty feet of water,
I was semi-conscious but aware; I could doze, float and breathe normally, all while immersed under a shoal deep under a narrow inlet.
As I floated, I slowly became dimly aware that visually, ten or fifteen gray ghosts, torpedo shapes, which had hovered nearby, now swam closer, nearer than twenty feet away.
Porpoises, a school of thirty gray forms, hovered in the inlet's shoal, nearby!
I struggled to come to my still dull senses, and watched as large torpedo shapes swam closer and as they approached they radiated discernible and palpable curiosity.
A large school of inquisitive silver-gray porpoises came very close, now, some within five feet, for a better look at me, half awake and floating .
The very instant that my mind asserted a greater awareness, in an attempt to seize upon my predicament, at that very moment, they started en-masse, startled away, as though privy to and threatened by my thoughts.
With quick tail movements, they all vanished into the water's distant murky gloom.
Slammed with a jolt, back into my body, awakened in bed, I suddenly recalled a thought-sentence that I had very often repeated in my writings:
"In the spiritual ocean tidal currents between two and six o'clock, I have stumbled across only negative thought entities, nighttime bedroom intruders; I have sadly met predominately sharks, and not ever, enlightened porpoises.."
This experience underlined aliens' astral abductions, and their meddling psychic omnipresence.
This nighttime vivid OBE, Out-Of-Body_Experience, pointed to a proprietary alien creature with a too literal sense of my sentence's meaning, or perhaps, instead, one with a rarified sense of humor.
In this episode we will explore Uruguay’s UFO investigations. Uruguay is one of the smallest countries in South America and witnesses have reported phenomenon in Uruguay since 1947. It is one of the countries where the military seems to be more open-minded towards the UFO phenomenon. In 1979 the President of Uruguay established the ‘Commission for Receiving and Investigating Complaints of Unidentified Flying Objects’ or CRIDOVNI as an official department of the Uruguayan Air Force. The commission receives, researches and investigates UFO sightings as part of their routine activity and they openly explore the possibility of extraterrestrial origins.

What I saw that morning were two very visible flying saucers. I noticed the first one coming from the west and heading east. Then I noticed a second one coming from the south. When they started getting closer looking like they were going to hook up or something. The first one heading east making a complete stop. When the second one which was heading south, reached the first one, it made a turn to head east. It was very cold out that morning and I didn’t have very much on to stay out much longer. I think I was standing out there for about 10 minutes. Neither one was moving at a fast speed but because the sky was rather bright that night, I had no problem in getting a good view of both of them. So after that incident, I made it a habit to look up at the night sky every night and what I have been seeing is something that I have no idea of what they are. This is every night when the sky is clear enough to see them and there are anywhere from five to thirteen of them that I can see. Because I have mentioned this, more and more people are coming forward and saying that they are seeing these strange things every night also. I don’t know if you would be interested to follow up on this. I have so much more to tell that would take up too much space here but all kinds of crazy stuff has been going on. Everyone that I have talked to don’t know if these things are from another planet, or if they are from our own government. The term “Men in Black” had become a very popular term in both movies and books depicting mysterious men wearing dark suits, driving somber-looking automobiles and behaving in an outrageous manner, often described wearing dark sunglasses, and threatening UFO witnesses to be silent in talking about their respective UFO accounts. Sometimes they confiscated any UFO evidence.
“Could they be secret agents of some covert – but earthly power or, even more fantastic, could they be aliens themselves who are disguised to look human,” said Jenny Randles, “Or, is it all just imagination?”
One of the early MIB (Men in Black) cases concerned an Albert K. Bender who in 1953 was head of a group called the IFSB (International Flying Saucer Bureau). Upon learning of a supposed “UFO Secret”, Bender wrote an IFSB member about the mystery. A few days later, August 1953, three men in black suits arrived at this home with the letter that Bender sent out. Their demeanor was very threatening. The men explained to Bender that the Pentagon had known the truth about UFOs for several years. They told Bender that the truth would come out in three years, 1956, but that never took place. The MIB told Bender that he would go to prison for treason if he spoke out. They “intimated” to Bender that Bender’s “sources” of the secret had been “moved out of the way” by various methods such as relocation to high security jobs to “shut people up”.
The late Gray Barker in They Knew Too Much about Flying Saucers (Werner Laurie Books, 1956) published the episode in the book. (Later events revealed that Barker, unfortunately, along with the late Jim Moseley, had been involved in UFO hoaxes.) To make matters worse, in 1962, Bender wrote a “tell all” book on the incident. Its contents were just as mysterious: the three men were actually aliens from the planet Kazik. Barker warned others to disbelieve Bender’s book. “Certainly, the version of Bender’s 1953 encounter as told here,” said Randles, “is remarkably different from that initially reported by Barker six years earlier.” Bender no longer seemed interested in promoting his book, and moved into hiding.
THE TACOMA UFOs
Another early case began on June 21, 1947 in Puget Sound near Maury Island, Tacoma, Washington where Harold Dahl and his 15-year-old son sighted six-donut shaped objects flying over the water. One of the objects spewed material, some of which struck and killed their pet dog and hospitalized the boy.
The tale escalated through several characters and included famed UFO witness Kenneth Arnold, the late publisher Ray Palmer, CIA spook Fred Crisman (Crisman was later discovered in numerous covert intelligence escapades best exemplified in Kenn Thomas’ JFK and UFO Military Industrial Conspiracy and Cover-up to Maury Island.), Air Force investigators Brown and Davidson, and others. It was a matrix of intrigue and facts. Brown and Davidson died in a B-25 plane crash transporting UFO fragments. Harbor man Fred Crisman, Dahl’s boss, disappeared, which also included the dilapidation of Dahl’s home, which had appeared to be normal previously. The home appeared to be deserted and derelict for months, though Arnold and Major George Sanders had recently visited Dahl’s place. The “time line” of events seemed extraordinaire. The best rendition was Kenneth Arnold and Ray Palmer’s The Coming of the Saucers (Amherst Press, 1952.)
ROOM WAS BUGGED
On June 22, 1947, about 7:00 a.m., a strange man about 40-years-of-age, dressed in black, driving a dark sedan automobile, ventured to take Dahl to breakfast for, what Dahl presumed, would be a talk about salvage. Instead, the MIB began to tell Dahl that he could relate every detail of the events of the day before. He revealed quite a bit of detail. “…if Dahl knew what good for him and loved his family he would keep quiet about the matter.”
Ted Morello, the head of the United Press in Tacoma, knew about everything that was going on in hotel room 502 at the Winthrop Hotel. He had been mysteriously and continually informed. Investigators suspected that the room was bugged somehow.
TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER
UFO-related photographs taken by Jim Templeton on May 24, 1964 at Carlisle, Scotland indicated that he had unknowingly photographed a “space-suited” figure behind his daughter. This became known as the “Cumberland Spaceman”. Sometime towards the end of June, MIB made appearances, first as a phone call, and then a visit from two men in black suits. The men drove a dark, shiny Jaguar automobile. They flashed identity cards that the men said proved they were from the government. The men began an interrogation about the weather that day, how did sheep and cows also react, what were the flight patterns of birds, wind in the trees, distant traffic, and other strange questions.
NORAD IMPOSTER
Former police officer and FBI trainee Rex Heflin witnessed and photographed on August 3, 1965 a disc-shaped UFO over Orange County, California. A mystery man in a dark business suit gave Heflin during an interview supposed proof that he was an North American Dense Command G-2 officer of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command [formerly called North American Air Defense Command].) He acquired Heflin’s photographs (NORAD later denied such an authorization). There never was a return of the photos.
Then, in 1967, two men arrived in a dark car with a violet glow coming from behind darkened windows. The alleged Air Force officers, uniformed as Intelligence officers, interrogated Heflin with odd questions such as about the Bermuda Triangle. Heflin’s radio set demonstrated interference when the men entered Heflin’s home. Heflin demanded identification, which the interrogators produced, but their names were never located in government records.
JOHN KEEL’S MIBS
Journalist John Keel had multiple encounters with mysterious visitors. One typical case involved a MIB and Jell-O. After encountering a UFO in November 1966 in Owatonna, Minnesota, two women appeared to communicate with the supposed occupants by “channeling” before the UFO disappeared. Strange phone calls ensued and a visit by olive-skinned Major Richard French wearing a dark suit followed. French drove a new Mustang car. The man came back for a second visit. He acted strangely: he tried to drink Jell-O for an upset stomach. Later, they traced the car’s license number to a “hire car”. French was not located in the USAF files (Page 102.).
Many readers probably recall the macabre tales of the “Moth man” during 1966 and 1967 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia where a strange bat-like apparition with “coal red” eyes terrified witnesses. However, amidst mystery-telephone-calls, prophecy, ultrasonic radiation, poltergeists, and a collapsing bridge into the Ohio River, MIBs also appeared. A deeply suntanned, dark-haired man also attempted to grab Connie Carpenter unsuccessfully on February 22, 1967. A threatening note was pushed under her door. A mysterious “blond women” went about interviewing citizens.
APOL
During June 1967, following her UFO sighting, “Jane” was approached by a suntanned man in a dark suit. He drove a black Cadillac. He said his name was Apol. On June 12, Apol gave Jane a capsule that turned out to be a sulphur compound. On June 17, a “Colonel John Dalton” and a young Lieutenant, allegedly from a near military base, interrogated Jane in a threatening manner with a paper form listing questions about her medical history and personal life. Jane refused. The men left in a blue station wagon. Another similar incident followed. Jaye Paro was abducted by a man in a black Cadillac who queried her relentlessly, as flashing lights on the dashboard seemed to hypnotize her. The auto had a septic smell. The man held a “pungent smelling bottle” under her nose before she was released.
Keel received a series of phone calls from Apol, imbedded with prophecies, culminating in the collapse of the Silver Bridge on December 15, 1967.
“Many MIB stories are in essence simply about a strange visitor who asks seemingly odd questions and knows things he ought not to know,” said Randles, “From the evidence to date we have built up a picture of the Man in Black that is chilling in its consistency. There really do appear to be intimidators out there threatening ordinary people who simply have the misfortune to experience a close encounter.”
AFSAC
Randles contemplated the many theories and reported scenarios of the MIBs. Her book was rich in quizzical oddities. She scrutinized that some may be sophisticated hoaxes from terrestrial sources perhaps utilizing modern technology. She pointed to the Air Force Social Activities Center (AFSAC) and its predecessor, the 1127TH, as “an odd ball unit, a composite of Special Intelligence groups. The men of the 1127th were con artists; their job was to get people to talk.” Bill Moore deciphered this to mean they were a sordid crew of burglars, impersonators, disguise artists, “eccentric geniuses and useful flakes…even from prisons when necessary.” (Page 227.) Other theories were very decorative. Some suggested demons from Biblical times. John Keel felt that they were visitors from another dimension.
“Unfortunately, we cannot dictate what evidence we must investigate,” said Randles. “These Men in Black are real, and the people who report them deserve our attention. We should strive to find out whether these threatening strangers are just a part of some secret department investigating UFOs or are visiting this world from somewhere beyond our ken.”
ADDITIONAL CASES
Robert Richardson of Teledo, Ohio, had an accident with a UFO in the night during July 1967 as he sped around a bend in the road. Unable to halt, Richardson collided, finding a lump of metal later. He reported the case to the (now defunct) Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO). Three days later, about 11:00 p.m., two men in their twenties visited Richardson for about ten minutes. They made no warnings and left in a black 1953 Cadillac. The auto was in mint condition. There was no assurance of the license number yet. A week later, two different men came in a current model Dodge automobile. The men wore black suits. One spoke English; the other had an accent. They tried to convince him that he did not hit anything on the night of his encounter. Then they insisted he give them the metal. “If you want your wife to stay as pretty as she is,” threatens one man, “you better get the metal back.”
Only the Richardsons and APRO knew of the UFO facts. Discovery was not possible by anyone else, unless there was tapping of the phones.
A LUMINOUS SILO
One evening in November 1961, a Mister Paul Miller, returning from a hunting trip with three companions, sighted an object in a field near Minot, North Dakota. At first, they thought it was a crashed plane. Miller then said it resembled a “luminous silo”. As they approached the object, “two humanoids” confronted them. Miller panicked and fired his rifle at one of the creatures who responded with a bawdy curse and asked in surprise, “Why did you do that for?”
Possibly the first written account referencing alien symbols and a possible humanoid encounter is a story in Japanese folklore. The story takes place on February 22nd in the spring of 1803. Offshore from a beach called Hara-yadori in the territory of Ogasawara Etchuu-no-kami (4000 koku’), who occupied a position named “Yoriai-seki” of Tokagawa shogunate at that time, a kind of boat was observed from the beach. People approached this boat using their small boats and eventually caught it. They towed it to the beach.
The boat was round and resembled a kind of kou-hako (a box used to burn incense). Its diameter was more than 3 ken (5.45 in). On the upper part of the boat, there were glass-fitted shoji (windows with lattice) and they were shielded by chan (a kind of waterproofed putty made from pine-tree gum). The bottom of this ship was reinforced by separated iron plates. This structure may protect the boat from destruction by sunken rocks. Since the glass-fitted shoji was transparent, the people could see the inside the boat, where they found a woman with strange features. Her hair and eyebrows were red, and her face was pink. It seemed that long white hair was added to her original hair.
This foreign woman held one square box whose size was about two shaku (60 cm) in her hands. It seemed that this box was very important to her because she held this box constantly, and she prohibited anyone from approaching it.
The objects found in this boat were investigated by the people. There was about two shou (3.6 liters) of water in the small bottle. There were two pieces of carpet, cake-like food, and kneaded meat. While people discussed what to do about this boat, the woman observed them peacefully.
Another similar description of an incident was found:
On March 24, 1803, a strange boat drifted ashore on a beach named Haratono-hama in Hitachi state in Japan. The boat was hollow and its shape was similar to a rice-cooking pot. It had a kind of rimmed-edge at the center-level part of the boat. In the part above this edge, the boat was painted in black and had four small windows on four sides. All shoji (windows with lattice) were shielded by chan (a kind of waterproof putty made from pine-tree gum). The lower part of the boat was reinforced by steel bars. These bars looked to be made of Western-made iron of the highest quality. The height of the boat was one jyou, two shaku (3.64m) and its diameter was one jyou, eight shaku (5.45m).
A woman (or girl) was found inside this boat and her age appeared around twenty. She was about five shaku (1.5m) tall and her skin was white as snow. Her long hair vividly hung on her back. Her facial features were incomparably beautiful. Her clothes were strange and unrecognizable and her language was not understood by anyone. She held a small box in her hands and prohibited anyone from approaching this box.
Reports of small wolf-like canids came out of the Chichibu district of Japan in 1998. At least seventy people reported wolf howls in 1994, and there have been at least twenty-six claims of wolves seen from 1908 to 1978, all in the Aomori and Oita regions in northernmost Japan, not to mention prints, howls and scat. Several sightings have also been made on the Kii peninsula. In 1936a man in Hongu supposedly captured a wolf pup, but released it in case a parent attempted to retrieve it. The Honshu wolf (Canis lupus hodophylax) a dwarf subspecies of wolf just over a foot tall and deemed extinct since 1905 due to a rabies epidemic, fits the general description. Attempts to record wolves howling, by playing wolf howls to prompt them in 1995 were unsuccessful. Possibly these sightings are just misidentification of feral dogs. However, though Japan is heavily populated, its mountainous terrain would make it possible for a hidden population of wolves – in this case, small wolves – to survive without public acknowledgment. – Cryptid Canids
At around 11 PM on August 1, 1984 in the town of Tsushima in Nagasaki prefecture, a squid fisherman named Ryu Shirozaki was walking home from the local pier after work. As he passed near the Kuta river, he came upon a small group of children playing at the water’s edge. While it was not entirely uncommon to encounter people fishing in the river at night, it was rather surprising to see youngsters there.
As Shirozaki approached the children, he was struck by how bizarre they appeared in the moonlight. He could make out swarthy faces, unusually spindly arms and legs, and glistening skin. Suspicious, Shirozaki called out to them as he neared, but they seemed startled and quickly disappeared into the water.
The next morning when he returned to the same spot, Shirozaki discovered a set of moist, teardrop-shaped footprints on the nearby pavement. The prints, which appeared to consist of a slimy substance that had begun to coagulate under the hot morning sun, stretched for about 20 meters. Each footprint measured 22 centimeters (about 10 in) long and 12 centimeters (5 in) wide, and they were spaced about 50 to 60 centimeters (about 2 ft) apart.
Shirozaki and a few curious onlookers immediately suspected the footprints belonged to a kappa. People began to gather around as the news spread quickly through town, and all agreed the prints belonged to a kappa. In the minds of many residents, the footprints confirmed the existence of the river imps they knew through local legends.
When police forensic investigators arrived on the scene, they determined that the slimy footprints consisted of an unknown secretion. They took a sample to the lab for analysis, but the results unfortunately turned out to be inconclusive because the sample was too small. The police eventually dropped their investigation, and the mystery of the slimy footprints was never solved.
THE UNCLEAN GUEST
Another recent kappa encounter occurred on June 30, 1991 in the town of Saito in Miyazaki prefecture, when an office worker named Mitsugu Matsumoto and his wife Junko returned home for the evening. Upon opening the front door, the Matsumotos were confronted with a strange smell inside their home. Inside, they found dozens of small, wet footprints around the front door and in the hallway, bathroom, and two tatami rooms. At first they suspected a burglar, but they soon realized nothing had been stolen.
The police briefly surveyed the house, but found nothing except a floor soiled by 30 footprints, each measuring about 7 centimeters long and 6 centimeters wide, and having 4 or 5 toes. To Matsumoto, the footprints did not look human, nor did they appear to belong to any animal he could imagine.
Later that night, as Mrs. Matsumoto was putting laundry away, she discovered an unusual orange stain on some clothing. The next morning, as Matsumoto inspected the house more closely, he discovered a deposit of orange liquid on the portable stereo in the tatami room. He took a sample to the local public health center for analysis, and the results indicated the liquid had an extremely high iron content and a chemical composition resembling spring water.
Troubled by the incident, Matsumoto decided to visit a shaman. After listening to Matsumoto’s story, the shaman encouraged him not to worry, explaining that the kappa indigenous to the nearby swamp enjoyed playing the occasional prank on local residents. The kappa were harmless, the shaman told him.
Harmless, perhaps, but Matsumoto found the kappa difficult to clean up after. He tried using detergent, paint thinner and gasoline to remove the footprints and orange stains, but nothing seemed to work. Sources: Shin-ichiro Namiki, “Nippon No Kaiki Hyaku”, 2007
In 2000, Yoshii, Okayama, Japan was in the news, as people were flocking to the region to hunt for the tsuchinoko, a chirping reptile-like cryptid bearing at least some resemblance to a snake or a long, thick lizard. A 20 million yen reward from the Yoshii Municipal Government was the source of all the excitement.
Tsuchinoko fever hit Yoshii on May 21 after a farmer cutting grass swore he saw a snake-like creature with a face resembling the cartoon cat Doraemon slither across his field. The farmer slashed the creature with his weed whipper, but it fled into a nearby stream and escaped. Four days later, 72-year-old Hideko Takashima was talking with a couple of friends in Yoshii when she found what she thought was one of the creatures lying dead next to the stream a tsuchinoko reportedly had dived into to escape from the farmer. She picked it up and buried it.
Yoshii Municipal Government officials heard the rumors of a tsuchinoko and headed out to look over the local woman’s find. They exhumed the body and forwarded it to Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare to be examined. Kuniyasu Sato, the professor who analyzed the reptile, said that the animal may indeed have been the tsuchinoko, but “scientifically speaking, it was a kind of snake.”
Meanwhile, Mitsuko Arima, an 82-year-old from Yoshii, says she saw a Tsuchinoko swimming along a river on the morning of June 15.
“I was surprised. I just pointed at it and asked ‘Who are you? Who are you?’ It didn’t answer me, but just stared. It had a round face and didn’t take its eyes off me. I can still see the eyes now. THE FANGED HUMANOID
Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan – February 23, 1975
Between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., two seven-year-old boys named Kono and Yamahata watched a luminous orange UFO approach Kofu, Japan while making a “ticking” sound. It landed on three ball-shaped legs in a nearby vineyard. The object was a domed disc, five meters in diameter and six feet high. The boys got very close to it, and discovered the surface of the object was silver colored and had strange characters embossed on its surface.
A ladder extended out of the craft down to the ground, and a humanoid creature slightly over four feet tall disembarked. It wore a silver uniform and carried something that looked like a gun. His skin was dark brown and he had large pointed ears, but his large head had no facial features: no eyes, nose or mouth. It merely had wrinkles on the “face” and three silvery two-inch long “fangs” where the mouth should be. Both boys could see one more smaller humanoid in the cockpit. The being that had emerged reached out and touched one of the boys, patting him twice on the shoulder and uttering words “like a tape recorder running backwards.” The boy who had been touched sat down, paralyzed either by the touch or fear, but his companion took him on his back and carried him from the vineyard. They then ran to one of the boy’s homes and informed their parents, who could at first see the orange light pulsating in the vineyard. Then it disappeared as they watched. Two concrete posts were found pushed over at the landing site.
