Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

3 years ago, my uncle (my father’s brother) passed away. He lived in Lansing, Michigan at the time. I was born and lived in Lansing until I moved to West Lafayette, Indiana for college. After I graduated, I moved to Arizona (where I currently reside). A few weeks after my uncle passed away, I received a package from the executor of my uncle’s estate.
The contents included several personal items that had belonged to my father and a large envelope with several photographs from the 1960′s. Most of the photos where of my father & uncle at various hunting camps. The envelope also contained a letter written by my uncle for me. There was no date, but I could tell he had written it.
Here is the exact content in the letter:
Please forgive me for not telling you this in person. I never knew how to explain what happened. In 1966, not long after you were born, your dad, a guide and I were in North Bay, Ontario moose hunting. We had been out in the forest for almost 6 hours and were making our way back to the cabin. It was dusk and it started to become dark quickly. As we got nearer to the cabin, we could hear strange whirling sounds coming from the direction we were heading. I was now dark, and we could see a bright green light was shining above the cabin. We stopped walking and watched the light as it slowing circled about 50 ft. above the cabin. The light was oblong in shape. I could not judge the size since there was an aura around it. The swirling sound continued also. The next thing we remember was waking up in our cabin bunks the next morning. All of us had sharp pain around our ears and eyes. We couldn’t explain what had happened to us. We packed our gear and headed for home as soon as we could. By the time we reached Lansing, your Dad was terribly ill. Your Mom rushed him to the hospital that same night. The doctor said he had the flu, but I knew better. I didn’t suffer any effects. The guide was OK also. Your Dad was in the hospital for four days and started to feel better, but he was really never the same. I believe the incident at the cabin affected him. He would say that he continually had sharp stabbing pains all over his body. It became so bad that he could not work. Well, you know the rest of the story. I felt that you deserved an explanation of what happened. I don’t know if you should tell your Mom. That’s your decision. For as long as could remember, my father was in and out of treatment. When I received the letter, my mother had already passed away. I don’t know if she ever knew what happened to my father. My mother was the sole bread-winner for our family. We did receive some money from the state for my father’s disability, but I know it wasn’t much. Those payments stopped soon after my father took his own life in 1975. I wish I knew more about what happened that evening at the cabin. MM NOTE: The above image is a rendering.
A video that was allegedly obtained from sources inside a Puerto Rican federal agency shows two UFOs over western Puerto Rico.
The video was reportedly shot by an infra-red camera aboard a Homeland Security helicopter in the Puerto Rican city of Aguadilla in the early morning hours of April 26, 2013.

This video was uploaded to YouTube by José Martínez, a member of the Puerto Rican Research Group. He explains that the video was shot by a helicopter from Rafael Hernandez International Airport, which was formerly a United States Air Force base called Ramey Air Force Base (This base was named after Brigadier General Howard Knox Ramey, and not after General Roger Ramey as some believe. Roger Ramey is the infamous general who announced to the world that what was recovered in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 was simply a weather balloon). Several federal agencies are currently housed at the Rafael Hernandez International Airport.
According to the website Historias Ufologicas en Puerto Rico y el Exterior, “In the video you can see how the object moves very quickly. In one part of the video you can see how the object is thrown to the sea at extreme speed,” and when it comes back out of the sea, there are “two objects on the screen.”

Researchers reportedly conferred with authorities from the Puerto Rico Joint Forces of Rapid Action (FURA), a division of the state police of Puerto Rico that coordinates operations between Puerto Rico police and U.S. federal agencies. These authorities confirmed that the UFO video was taken by a camera aboard a Black Hawk helicopter. The website asserts that “this proves that federal agencies in Puerto Rico have knowledge of the presence ovnis-extraterrestre and surveillance in the [hottest areas of] Puerto Rico are being monitored.”

When asked by YouTube viewers for more information about this video showing UFOs in Puerto Rico, Martínez responded by saying that, in order to protect the identity of his federal agency sources at the airport, he “cannot give more details.”

The witness, Giorgio Filliputti, had gone fishing at the river Corno when he suddenly heard a sharp whistling found followed by some spiral movement of air behind him causing ripples on the water and sending the surrounding brush rustling. The wind became stronger so the witness decided to climb up a nearby embankment and take a look around. As he reached the top of the emba…nkment he caught sight of a metallic disc shaped object sitting on a nearby dry mud flat. The object rested on three thick legs that terminated on flat plates on the ground. The object was totally smooth and the metal appeared to be brass like in appearance. A figure then appeared walking on the rim of the disc. I was described as short and oriental in appearance wearing a silvery tight fitting overall which sparkled in the sunlight. He also wore dark boots. His face was dark bronze in complexion and he had large almond shaped eyes. The humanoid appeared surprised upon seeing the witness then walked briskly around the rim, briefly bending down and touching something on the dome then disappeared behind the dome. Moments later the witness heard a loud rumbling sound and saw the object rise slowly straight up, emitting a bluish flame from the bottom, it then turned on edge and shot away at great speed. Ground marks were found at the scene.

A man named Marshall was walking along a quiet country road not far from the Welsh border. A movement in the field to his left caught his eye and he was astounded to see a strange figure of a man physically leaping high hedgerows in great bounds, in fact it looked as if he was gliding above the ground. Suddenly the ‘man’ leaped onto the road and as he glided past Mr. M…arshall he slapped him so hard across the face that he fell to the ground, leaving a red imprint on his cheek for several hours afterwards. As he slapped Mr. Marshall, the strange man gave out an almighty cackle of a laugh and carried on with his journey across the fields. It all happened so fast, Mr. Marshall was dumbstruck, shocked with his senses haywire. He describes, the man as wearing a type of black shell suit and having an elongated chin. Other than that he cannot say only he seemed to defy all laws of gravity pertaining to man.
The anonymous witness was on his way to a lake when he saw a strange approximate 4 ft tall white colored entity, which he briefly chased and managed to take the above photograph. The entity appears to have an oval shaped head and round eyes. The witness waited four months before developing the photograph since it was a remote and desolate area. The day after h…e gave the photo to his grandson the witness died (approximate 70 years later).

Explanatory Surgical Event: Federal law requires virtually everything in a modern operating room to be marked with graphic warning labels. Icon-like shapes identify combustible and oxidizing gases, toxic substances, etc.
Although James Wilson's efforts may seem amusing or even far-fetched to most researchers, I wish to commend him for being willing to construct a hypothesis for consideration. Sadly though, it seems he only has a superficial understanding of abduction claims (I note that his four references do not include any studies of actual abduction data) and no apparent contact or interviewing of any abduction participants. Wilson is correct in proposing an analysis of abduction data to distinguish between abductees who have and have not had prior surgical experiences. But note that once again “explanations” find their way into publication and public notice rather quickly – before a careful analysis of actual data takes place. We shall keep pushing professional journals toward acceptance of data-rich studies that lead us closer toward a truth based in reality – not just theory. As TV journalist George Knapp wisely noted in his award-winning documentary, UFOs: The Best Evidence, “Science should be the investigation of the unexplained, not the explanation of the uninvestigated.”

Rebecca was six years old in 1978 when something terrifying walked into her life.
“When I was a child I saw what I now know is called the Hat Man,” Rebecca said. “The Hat Man I saw spoke to me.”
Although she now lives in Florida, Rebecca grew up in Missouri, and spent parts of 1977 and 1978 in her grandmother’s house in Independence, Missouri.
“During this time in my life my mother, sister and I lived with my grandparents off and on due to our own circumstances and the fact that my grandfather was in and out of the hospital,” she said.
Rebecca remembers other relatives staying in her grandparents’ house at that time, taking the spare bedroom she usually shared with her sister. That night, Rebecca and her sister slept in her grandmother’s room, and soon discovered they weren’t alone.
“My sister and grandmother were sleeping in the bed like normal, and I was sleeping between the two of them with my head at the foot of the bed,” Rebecca said. “I had a terrible nightmare, one where the dresser drawers were opening and closing on their own and ghosts and clothing were flying out.”
Rebecca remembers her dreamself lying in the same place as her body slept.
“Most dreams are in other places, or familiar places, but never from the perspective of where you are actually sleeping,” she said. “I woke up from the dream very afraid.”
Terrified, she gently kicked, trying to wake her grandmother, but couldn’t rouse her.
“I debated getting up and finding my mom, but I would have had to walk past the dresser from my dream and decided that was too scary,” she said. “I turned my gaze away from the dresser and up to the window behind the headboard of the bed and that is where I saw the Man.”
The Man, a dark, looming figure, seemed to stand on the headboard, but Rebecca now wonders if the Man stood behind the headboard and was extremely tall.
“The Man was wearing a long flowing coat, a top hat and carried a cane,” Rebecca said. “He had no real features, but was a solid object that blocked the light from the window behind him. I was terrified because there was someone else in the room and because I recognized it as non-human.”
Rebecca and the Hat Man stared at one another for what could have been minutes, or seconds, when the figure lifted its arm and pointed at her.
“He said, ‘This is your last chance,’” Rebecca said. “His voice did not fill the room. The best way I can describe it is that it filled my head. The voice was flat with no residual sound, as if everything surrounding the words had been removed.”
After the Hat Man spoke those five cryptic words, he put down his arm and disappeared. She told her family of the encounter the next day, but they paid little attention.
“Little kids are always filled with stories that grown ups nod and smile while hearing,” she said. “I vaguely remember being afraid of grandma’s room for a while, but not much else following the incident.”
She didn’t bring up the Hat Man encounter again until her teens; this time her family listened.
“Everyone believed in ghosts, so it was another neat ghost story from a family member for everyone except my aunt,” she said. This is because her aunt has had more than one ghostly encounter, all eerily similar to her own. “She said she had seen the same man in that same house.”
Although the fear of her grandmother’s room has long since gone, along with the terror of that long ago moment when she met the Hat Man, one question remains.
“I’ve tried to figure out what, ‘This is your last chance,’ meant,” she said. “My grandfather died somewhere around this time, but I can not be certain if the Hat Man appeared before or after his death. I do know that grandpa was not in the house at the time, but he spent quite a bit of time in the hospital toward the end of his life. Was the Hat Man telling me this was my last chance to talk with him? I don’t know.”

Manoel do Espirito Santo, 20, high school student, local resident, was in front of his house with some friends, Julio, Paulo, Deca and Carlito when he saw a yellow light moving E/W slowing in speed and stopping about 20meters from the group. He said he could see two crew members inside who appeared to be human, one man and a woman, the “man” was on the left side and the woman on the right side of the “apparatus” both wore different shape goggles and communication gear (earphones) the one on the left seemed more attentive to the group of witnesses. At the same time, the other, behind a horizontal tube directed a ray of red light toward the group, having been hit directly, it felt like an electric shock, from the feet to the head, then felt paralyzed (arms and legs immobilized) and semi-conscious. The object gradually began to move away, gaining altitude and speed. Manoel was able to move again, feeling numb for some minutes. The object seemed like a reddish-yellow star from a distance, it turned more yellow as it came closer. Manoel observed a bluish light in the front top part. It had the shape of a barrel with a thin tube and another, more slender, horizontal (45 degrees) one which emitted the ray of blue light. The apparent size was 1.20 to 1.40m and gave the appearance of being transparent (in the bluish area) with a division between the two crew members. It climbed straight up in a wavy motion, until it reached a certain altitude, abruptly varying its speed.
Two California witnesses southbound along Highway 5 in Coalinga reported watching a slow moving, triangle-shaped UFO “with three huge, white lights on the underside” that descended to just 20 feet over their vehicle, according to June 2, 2014, testimony in Case 56732 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The reporting witness was driving with a passenger in the vehicle heading to Phoenix when the object was first seen and thought to be a plane about midnight on May 29, 2014.
“It flew straight up and over us,” the reporting witness stated. “It went up quick in a field and then flew right over us, slowly.”

The witness described the object.
“It had three huge, white lights on the underside. It took off straight towards us and I thought, why would a plane fly so low? When I saw the underside with the huge white, round lights, it was dark in color with sharp edges, triangle-shaped with no other lights. It flew above us maybe 20 feet.”
The object then moved over a nearby field and appeared to land.
“It flew to the west of the highway and all the lights underneath came on brighter. When the lights came on brighter, it rotated in the air before its descent, then landing in a field.”
The witness pulled over for a better look.
“There was a huge glowing light. I was in disbelief and totally amazed. I was very glad to have a witness with me who saw the same. It was truly unbelievable.”
The witness moved to another location hoping to continue to watch the object.
“We went to a rest stop a mile away and watched the glowing light. There was no way to see since it was far into the field.”

The witness, a Mr. Kovac (pseudonym) suddenly woke up and noticed two young-looking dark skinned men at his window. They appeared to be carrying a piece of heavy machinery between them and Mr. Kovac watched for fifteen to twenty minutes, during which time he was unable to move or cry out. In his own words, he felt “paralyzed”, as if in a “force field”. The following morning, in a f…ield of rye adjacent to his home Mr. Kovac found a flattened area some fifteen to twenty meters in diameter which had four holes in the center. Mr. Kovac said the holes looked as though legs supporting something had been in the holes. On a later date, more recently, a medical examination revealed certain complications which Mr. Kovac feels are in some way connected to the paralysis and UFO. He was apparently hospitalized and the investigator could not locate him later.

The locals of Kalachi village in Kazakhstan and the almost abandoned Soviet town of Krasnogorsk, Russia have been suddenly falling asleep, and then waking up with no recollection of what happened.
More than 7,000 experiments into the soil, air, water and patient’s blood, hair and nails have been carried out by scientists in these remote villages.
But so far, all results have come back inconclusive – although scientists fear leaking uranium could be to blame.
And villagers even fear that they buried an elderly man before the sleeping condition was known about, because they thought he was dead.
The sleeping epidemic causes people, including children, to suddenly fall into a deep sleep, which can last from two to six days.
Jack Weiner’s dog woke him up when he scratched at the door wanting to go out to relieve himself. When Jack got up to put him out, he was shocked to see a blue light shining through the kitchen window. He went out to look and saw a glowing object hovering over the field adjoining his house. He decided to bring the dog back in. In the morning, he thought he had dreamed about the whole thing. However, under hypnosis, he relived a shared abduction experience with his wife in minute detail. Mary only remembered dreaming about deer with big eyes coming to their bedside. She did not respond to hypnosis. The following is an excerpt from Jack’s hypnosis sessions: “It’s blue. A blue light. And I think, ‘That’s funny. That’s not the moon.’ And then I go to the window and look out the window and what I see is amazing. I see a big, bright light and its right over the truck in the field outside the house. And I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God! I can’t believe that!’ And so I say, ‘Mar get up. Get up and look! And I run to the door and I go out the door and I’m running towards the light up in the field…Then I see the dog running alongside me…And so I pick him up and I run back to the house…The light is still there and it’s moving…And then I put the dog back in bed and I’m thinking, ‘I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to do this now!’ I don’t want to look at the light…So I’m going back to bed…And I’m thinking, ‘I don’t want to deal with this now. Why are they here now?’ And I’m scared…so I pull the covers over my head…and Mary’s next to me. And then I know, I know that something’s in the house. I just know that they’re there and I’m under the covers and I think, ‘Oh god, oh god! Why are they here now? I don’t want this to happen.’ (Gasps) And then the covers move and I feel something on the cover…And then the covers are down and I’m looking there and I was right. They’re right there! Oh God! They’re right there, right next to my bed…It has big eyes and a big head and it’s dark and there’s light behind it coming in the door. And it’s just taking the covers away and I don’t want to look at it…And I look at Mary…There’s another one there and it’s next to Mary. And I wish that I could do something but I can’t. I have to do what they want. And the light is out there and they want me to go out there…They’re lifting me. Mary’s standing and they’re making us move towards light…And the dog isn’t doing anything. We’re through the door…We walk up the lawn and I feel like I’m floating…our feet are on the ground, but my feet are not doing what I want them to.” Jack and Mary were brought to stand in front of a huge house-sized glowing object sitting on a blue light that enveloped its underside. The glow around the object itself was changing colors from white to yellow to orange and purple and back to white. No noise emanated from the object, but the air was filled with the acrid smell of ozone. Then, Jack and Mary were made to walk into the blue light under the object. Instantaneously they were transferred inside of the glowing object. Mary was separated from Jack, who was made to undergo examinations similar to the one that he and his friends had experienced twelve years earlier. After the examination, Mary rejoined Jack and they were literally floated across the lawn from the craft to their house, through the unopened front door and to their bedroom, where they went back to bed in a strange lethargic state of mind. The experience left physical evidence behind in the form of burns on the bottom of Jack’s feet. Jack also received a biopsy-like scoop mark above his ankle during another abduction.

On Friday night, August 20, four young art students in their early twenties left Boston, Massachusetts for a canoe and camping trip in a wilderness area of Northern Maine along the Allagash River. The group consisted of identical twins, Jack and Jim Weiner, Charlie Foltz and Chuck Rak. Upon arrival at a staging point, they hired a pontoon airplane which flew them and their canoes to Telos Lake on the Allagash Waterway. During the next several days they canoed and camped along the Waterway. On the evening of Thursday, August 26, they reached Eagle Lake, set up camp and decided to go night fishing for trout. The pitch darkness of the area necessitated the building of a huge bonfire to mark their campsite so that they could find their way back to it. Shortly after beginning to fish, Chuck became aware of a feeling of being watched. He said, “I turned toward the direction from where I felt this and saw a large bright sphere of colored light hovering motionless and soundless about 200-300 feet above the southeastern rim of the cove.” Chuck yelled for the others to look behind them. There, rising above the trees was a huge oval glowing object. As their eyes became adapted to its intense brightness, a gyroscopic motion was noted, as if there were pathways of energy flowing equatorially and longitudinally from pole to pole. This divided the sphere into four oscillating quadrants of bright colored light. The color changes were very liquid and enveloping, as if the entire object had a plasmatic motion to it, like a thick sauce does as it starts a rolling boil. Charlie grabbed a flashlight and blinked it at the object. Instantly, the huge rising glowing object came to an abrupt halt and began to slowly approach the canoe. Simultaneously, a tube-shaped beam of light erupted from the object and hit the water. A glowing ring with a dark center reflected on the water’s surface, indicating that the beam was hollow. The object and its beam of light began moving toward the canoe. Terrified, the campers began paddling frantically toward their bonfire and camp as the beam swept across the lake directly at them and engulfed them. It was from this point on that the conscious memories of the four differed according to each witness’ vantage point. The next thing Charlie remembered was paddling for shore and standing at the campsite with the others, watching the object move away. Chuck Rak remembers staying in the canoe after the others had piled out in panic onto the shore. Transfixed, still holding his idle paddle, he could not take his eyes off the object. Jack and Jim were able to consciously remember a bit more. Jack said that “It was just behind us and I could see that we were never going to outrun the beam. It was advancing too fast and I remember thinking, ‘Holy shit! This is it! We’ll never get away.’ The next thing he knew, they were on the shore getting out of the canoe looking directly at the object which was now about 20 or 30 feet above the water. The beam was coming out of the bottom of it like the object was sitting on the beam. It hovered there, right in front of us, completely silent for what seemed like four or five minutes. Suddenly the beam was pointing up towards the sky. The object began to move up and away from them towards the southwestern sky and then shot into the stars and was gone in just a second. Jim Weiner said that “There was no mistake that it was coming directly to us. Then I remember standing on the lakeshore watching the object hovering above the lake 50 to 75 yards in front of us…Then the search beam went upward into the sky and we saw it moving away at a tremendous speed. We all seemed to be in a state of shock…We just stood there unable to move or talk.” When the strange anesthetizing effect wore off, Chuck got out of the canoe and joined the others as they trudged dreamily up the beach to their camp. Even in this state, they were dumbfounded when they realized what had happened to the huge bonfire that had just been blazing several minutes ago. “When we left to go fishing,” said Jim, “we set very large logs on the fire to burn for a good 2 to 3 hours. The entire experience seemed to last, at the most, 15 or 20 minutes. Yet the fire was completely burned down to red coals.” At that time, they had no memory of what happened during the time it took for their huge bonfire to burn down. This would remain a puzzle to them for years. A few years later, Jim suffered a head injury which caused temporal-limbic epilepsy. During treatment, Jim’s doctors asked him to report any unusual experiences that might be symptomatic of his condition. Jim described strange experiences that he and his friends had experienced since the UFO encounter. These included awaking at night to see strange creatures, levitation from bed, and temporary paralysis while something was done to the genitals. He also described their encounter with a UFO and the period of missing time. Jim’s doctors advised him to contact a UFO researcher as they felt that Jim and his friends may have been involved in a UFO abduction experience. Jim contacted Raymond Fowler during one of his UFO lectures in the Boston area. In January of 1989 Fowler initiated a formal investigation with MUFON investigator and CEIII/IV specialist, David Webb (Solar Physicist) and with MUFON consultant, Anthony (Tony) Constantino (Professional Hypnotist). It was conducted in a careful and meticulous manner over a period of 24 months. It was obvious to them that the period of missing time had to be sandwiched between sighting the object and reaching shore. The beam of light hitting the canoe seemed to be the dividing point between memory and amnesia. During the first of a long series of hypnosis sessions, it was decided to concentrate on this segment of the terrifying encounter. Under hypnosis, all four witnesses relived detailed and traumatic UFO abduction experiences during the period of missing time. All were transferred from their canoe into the UFO by the hollow tube-like beam of light. On board, they encountered strange humanoid creatures that exerted some kind of mind control over them so that they could not resist their demands. All were made to undress and sit on a plastic-like bench in an area illuminated by diffuse white light. After looking at their eyes and in their mouths with a pencil-sized rod with a light on its tip, the aliens placed them in a harness and flexed their arms and legs. Then, one by one they were made to lie on a table where each was examined by a number of strange hand-held and larger machine-like instruments that were lowered over their bodies. During this segment of the examination, the alien entities removed samples of saliva, skin scrapings, blood, feces, urine and sperm from each of the abductees. After the examination the abductees were made to dress and enter another room which had a round portal in one of its walls. They were lined up and made to walk into the portal. Strange sensations surged through their bodies as they found themselves floating down the hollow beam of light into their canoe which was now in shallow water near their campsite. The tube-like light seemed to hold the canoe steady as each was placed in it in the same seating position they were in prior to the abduction. As the hypnosis sessions continued, much detail was recovered about their on board experience. Also it was discovered that the twins had had bedtime visitations by alien creatures and abduction experiences since early childhood. These experiences were relived in vivid detail under hypnosis. The humanoids were described as having large oval-shaped heads and long necks, with large shiny oval-shaped black eyes. They had claw-like three-finger hands and were about six feet tall and dark gray in color.

Air Force Sgt Jonathan P. Lovette and a Major Conningham were out in a field from the launch sites looking for debris from a missile test when Sgt Lovette went over the ridge of a small sand dune and was out of sight for a time. Major Conningham then heard Sgt Lovette scream in what was described as terror or agony. The Major thinking Lovette had been bitten by a snake or something ran over the crest of the dune and saw Sgt Lovette being dragged into what appeared to him and was described as being a silvery disc-like object which hovered in the air approximately 15 to 20 ft away. Major Conningham described what appeared to be a long snake-like object, which was wrapped around the sergeant’s legs and was dragging him to the craft. Major Conningham admittedly froze as the sergeant was dragged inside the disc and observed the disc going up into the sky very quickly. Major Conningham got on the jeep radio and reported the incident to Missile Control whereupon Missile Control confirmed a radar sighting. Search parties went into the desert looking for Lovette. Major Conningham’s report was taken and he was admitted to the White Sands Base Dispensary for observation. The search for Sgt Lovette continued for three days at the end of which his nude body was found approximately ten miles downrange. The body had been mutilated; the tongue had been removed from the lower portion of the jaw. An incision had been made just under the tip of the chin and extended all the way back to the esophagus and larynx. He had been emasculated and his eyes had been removed. Also, his anus had been removed and there were comments in the report on the apparent surgical skill of the removal of these items including the genitalia. The report commented that the anus and the genitalia had been removed, as though a plug, which in the case of the anus extended all the way to the colon. His body had also been completely drained of all blood.

After visiting St Paul’s Grotto in Rabat, Malta we decided to spend some more time underground and visit the Catacombs (sometimes referred to at St.Paul’s Catacombs). These were initially built by the Romans but have also been used by Jews and Christians, at a later date, to bury their dead. I believe there is room for over 1000 bodies.
According to Heritage Malta the: “… Catacombs are a typical complex of interconnected, underground Roman cemeteries that were in use up to the 4th century AD … Part of the catacombs were used again during the re-Christianisation of the Island around the 13th century.”
The strange thing when visiting them today is that you first have to walk through underground tunnels and rooms that were used during the second world war as air raid shelters. The top photo shows the passage or tunnel and the second photo is of one of the ‘rooms’ off of the tunnel.
The tunnels were built using pick axes and were for the general public when the warning sirens were heard. Later some were given permission to build their own rooms so that they had some privacy.
After walking through these air raid tunnels the passages get narrow (see below) and it’s these that lead to the Catacombs – and it’s quite creepy! Especially as we were in there on our own, and it became something almost like a maze. The few lights cast shadows and shapes on the walls. Not a place to go if you are claustrophobic!
I found it all very interesting, and even spotted the odd bone, but I think Karin would have been happier if there had been more people about than just us – safety in numbers, and all that!
From what I’ve read the tombs were for the residents of the nearby town of Mdina (the Roman town of Melita). It was against their laws to bury the dead within their city walls.
There is a sign before reaching the Catacombs that Lord Horatio Nelson paid a visit on the 4th of May 1800. He was welcomed, at the time, by the rector and chaplains of the Knights of Malta.
After we’d had a good look round we managed to find our way out again into the bright sunshine, and walked to the walled town of Mdina. Maybe more on that another day.
Mysterious cases of shadow people are a common report that paranormal investigators investigate. During their investigations, they have seen and documented this phenomenon first-hand many times. These shadow people or shadow figures typically move very quickly and are not associated with anyone or anything visible.
Typical reports are that the shadow figure (also called a dark mass) is seen through the viewer’s peripheral vision and by the time the viewer has turned around to look at the shadow figure, it is gone. If you are lucky enough, you may be able to view one with your direct vision – and some simply lurk instead of moving very quickly.
Types of Shadow Figures
Creepers From experience, these are the most unnerving shadow figure to behold. We experienced one of these in the Old Barnstable Gaol. These shadow figures literally crawl along the floor, up the walls, or along the ceiling. As with any shadow figures they can move slowly or deliberately to extremely fast. Many assume these are evil creatures, but we cannot state this because we like to look at intent before one is classified as evil or harmless. The creeper we encountered did not seem evil as it left when prompted to. If it was truly evil, it would have disregarded our request.
Dark Mass We term another group as a dark mass as it has no discernible form. They can vary in size and shape and often move slower than shadow figures or creepers.
Dark Mist This is exactly as it sounds; a dark and smoky feature is present. Many are accustomed to the white or gray mists captured on photos; this is a cousin of those features. These mists allow some light to pass through and move as if it had a purpose.
The stereotype is that shadow figures flee in the presence of humans – especially if they are seen. Investigators have encountered this , but have also encountered many shadow figures that do not flee, but come closer to check them out. They have experienced shadow figures who want to be seen. Shadow figures can move through walls or any other obstacles – they are not bound by physical limitations that we encounter. Often their movement is described as unnatural – they can be very fast and disjointed. They can move naturally then appear to quickly transport to another location within the environment.
As for the actual shadow figure, it seems to be made of a dense energy that is impenetrable to light. From our own experience light seems to be absorbed in the black mass and it will not shine through the figure. The light does not reflect either – the beam of light just stops on the figure. There is one common element to shadow figures; they have no discernible features (except for shape). One cannot recognize style of clothing and there is no discernible mouth, nose, facial expressions, or eyes (although a growing number of reports claim red eyes).
Many believe that shadow figures are demonic or evil. While some may have ill-intention, most of them, if not the majority are harmless. They just are a different representation of a spirit than most associate with the paranormal. Most people know apparitions, balls of light, vortices, and paranormal mists. These entities are able to project in a different “format”. Since most people confuse the feeling of evil with their own fear of the unknown, most assume that these figures are evil.

No one really understands the science behind dark masses and shadow people. It is theorized that this phenomenon represents a body composed of a matter that is not visible to the human eye. Light will not pass through this figure because it is too dense and the result will create a shadow.
Human eyes cannot see x-rays and gamma rays, but yet they exist. We have been conditioned in life to think that we must see something in order for it to be true. Belief is that these entities are in a frequency that our human eyes are not capable of seeing – but they are there! In other words our eyes and brains cannot fathom the picture that is painted and the brain finishes the image for us showing us something is there.
While we are confident that most shadow figures are harmless, we also know that some can be a bit nasty. As in all paranormal entities, their personalities vary – just like living humans. Spirits keep the same personality they had while alive – so if someone was a mass-murdering creep, odds are they would be a nasty spirit. Until the spirit enters the light, they will retain any emotional and physical baggage with them.
Let’s say that they are real… What are they? Theories include: ghosts, inter-dimensional beings, time travellers and demons. And like the exterminator example, each would be dealt with in a different manner.
If they are inter-dimensional beings or time travellers, there may not be much we can do to get rid of them because they would presumably have their own agendas and reasons for showing up. Why would they leave just because we wanted them to? Who knows what they’re up to, if anything? I should add that these two possibilities are rather remote.
Possible Alternatives
As with all paranormal claims, one must be careful in not mistaking alternative explanations as a paranormal entity. If one thinks their home is haunted – every little thing becomes magnified and everything becomes paranormal in their mind.
If you think you saw a shadow figure with the corner of your eye, look to rule out other scenarios first. Could headlights from a passing car create a shadow from a piece of furniture? If you spotted something – concentrate on the area and see what happens if another car passes.
Some alternative explanations for shadow figures range from tricks of the eye with normal light play to optical illusions. If you ask a doctor or skeptic they may tell you that shadow figures can be caused by ocular distortions or floaters within the vitreous fluid of the eyes. Some alternative explanations include:
Pareidolia: Our peripheral vision is linked to an area of the brain that senses and recognizes patterns. It provides less detail than macular vision, which is within your direct line of sight. This can create a condition called pareidolia, which is when the brain incorrectly interprets natural patterns of light and shadow or texture as familiar patterns, such as faces and human figures. This is similar to a term we refer to as matrixing.
Hypnogogia: This is a medically-documented condition in which a person is between being conscious and asleep. During this condition, a person can be both aware of their surroundings and in a dream-like state where images from their subconscious are added.
Chemical-induced Hallucinations: The use of both prescribed medications and narcotics can produce hallucinations with shadow-people.
Abnormally High Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs): When people who are sensitive to EMF levels are subjected to high amounts, their brain can create auditory and visual hallucinations. We also believe however, that high EMF’s can provide an energy source for legitimate paranormal entities.
Neurological Conditions: Some people with diagnosed neurological conditions can have hallucinations of shadow figures.
If you determine that your shadow person really is just ordinary shadows… adjust your lighting.
If you just know that it is a real event not one induced by drugs or by being crazy, here are some steps to take to confront the unwanted entities.
Most researchers suspect that shadow people, if they are really there, are a manifestation of a ghost or haunting. If it’s a residual haunting — a non-intelligent “recording” on the environment — one way to possibly get rid of it is to alter the environment in some way.
If it’s an intelligent haunting — a true spirit that seems to behave and react in a way that indicates it has awareness — then there are some things you can try to make it go away.
Ignore the ghost. Like most people apparitions probably go away when ignored. Sometimes, however, this backfires and the ghostly activity increases because the spirit wants more attention.
Use humour. Since fear is your biggest enemy in these cases, try injecting some light humour. Most people have a sense of humour including the dead ones.
Listen and learn. Perhaps the spirit is trying to tell you something or communicate. Try to find out what that might be and do your best to resolve it.
Tell the ghost to leave. This tactic very often works quite well, especially when the time is taken to explain how and why having her stick around bothers bothers everyone and increases their stress. Like most living people, most ghosts are reasonable. This might even work in the case that the entities are inter-dimensional beings or time travellers; if they’re aware of you, they might listen.
If you feel that you have a real genuine Shadow Person, one important factor to stress is that you do not try to do this alone. Get some help, preferably from someone who has some real experience in these matters. There is no way to prove or disprove any theories about a phenomenon that is so mysterious, that happens so quickly and without warning. Science finds it virtually impossible to catalog or study such phenomena in any methodical way. All we can do, at present, is to document personal experiences and try to piece together what the shadow people phenomenon might be. Perhaps it’s an old mystery becoming more recognizable… perhaps it represents a doorway to and from different planes of existence… or perhaps it’s just shadows.

As the end of 2012 passes and we step into 2013 humanity is rapidly waking up to a very real UFO presence, a presence which has been both officially and unofficially announced in several countries. UFO's were sighted in the skies of the UK every day in September 2012 with reports coming in from all areas of the country - and about time too, the UK is one country which desperately needs awakening!
Just as is already the case in many other countries, UFO sightings in the UK are starting to become routine.
In August 2011, a spokesperson for the UK's MoD (Ministry of Defense) stated on BBC News television "the only logical conclusion to explain UFO's is that they are vehicles of extraterrestrial origin with propulsion systems way more advanced than ours." - was this a sign of the times to come?
In the UK since the beginning of September UFO's have been sighted daily with reports coming in from London, Prestatyn, Wakefield, West Midlands, Grantham, Uddingston, Birmingham, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Gateshead, West Yorshire, Whitstable, Bournemouth, Wokingham, Glasgow, West Bromwich, Cleveland, Warwick, Nottinghamshire, Scarborough, Somerset, Cumbria, Snowdonia, Gwent, Newcastle and more.
According to official UK government documents, which can be found at the National Archives website,the most significant event to happen in the UK was at Rendlesham Forest - also known as the Bentwaters incident. Lt Charles Halt and his men witnessed the incident and Halt took part in Dr Steven Greer's Disclosure project. The men claim to have seen a triangular UFO land in the nearby forest and some of them even had beams of light shot at their feet.
A declassified memo from the Aerial Material Command, which can also be found at the National Archives website, clearly states "The UFO phenomena is something real and not visionary or fictitious".
In July 2012 the MoD declassified documents relating to project Condign which includes details of how fatal Royal Air Force crashes happened after encountering UFO's. The MoD plan to declassify and publicly release all of their UFO documents by the end of 2012. In addition, many other countries also seem to be declassifying their UFO documents leading up to the end of 2012 - is humanity being prepped for disclosure?
It sure seems like it!
Let's take a look at disclosure in a few other countries:
China
Ufologists and researchers in China were left stunned in August 2010 when Professor Wang Sichao, of the Purple Mountain Astronomical Observatory went public and admitted that UFO's are real, that the observatory has observed ET craft on numerous occasions and that aliens are visiting Earth. The information was released in an official speech entitled 'China's UFO Truth'.
Wang Sichao made several key points stating that the aliens seem to be on research and development expeditions, the UFO's appear to be probes manned by robots/androids, the UFO's can travel at 80% the speed of light, they have been observed between 150 to 1500km above Earth, the UFO's possibly use nuclear fusion propulsion and Wang also believes that the alien craft use Earth's gravity to manoeuvre and stay aloft - a phenomena mentioned in the book Genesis For The New Space Age by John B. Leith.
The information was widely reported in the Chinese press though, not surprisingly, not so much in other countries.
Wang Sichao asserted that the aliens are not Gods and that, in the event of an attack, we would most likely be able to protect ourselves sufficiently - they have flaws. However, Wang also confirmed that there appears to be absolutely no hostile intent whatsoever on the part of the aliens. He also claimed that it's unlikely that the aliens would be interested in Earth's resources as they apparently have the technology to create their own resources.
The Chinese government suggested that they would only make an official announcement of extraterrestrial intelligence if America did so first, and that China would be second behind them.
In February 2012 China published this image of the back side of the moon that was taken by their Chang'e 2 lunar orbiter. The image seems to depict some kind of base on the dark side of the moon. In 1996 NASA officials had come forward at the National Press Club in Washington, DC to tell what they know about structures on the moon and claimed that NASA had airbrushed the images before releasing them to the public. When asked why secrecy was maintained, they responded by saying it was unknown how the public would react to knowing that there had potentially been, and may still be, an alien presence on our moon plus because of reasons beyond NASA.
In 2010 President of the Republic Kalmykia, Kirsan llyumzhinov, claimed to have personally had an alien encounter and after establishing the claims as fact, President Dmitry Metvedev launched an investigation. Kirsan llyumzhinov claims that he boarded an alien spacecraft and conversed with extraterrestrial beings who were visiting Earth to collect samples.
President Metvedev is said to have gone on to commission a group of researchers linked to the Murmansk Geophysical Institute to establish new guidelines for contact with extraterrestrial intelligence based on peace and co-operation. Amazingly, a significant boost in UFO activity happened including a giant UFO hurtling towards the ground in Irkutsk, Siberia. hundreds of government officials visited the area and the corpse of a dead alien was found which forced the Interior Ministry to launch a 'damage control' operation in an attempt to keep a lid on the alien presence.
Even more amazingly, before the hype over the incident had even settled down, a huge crop circle was discovered in Krasnodar - the location of a UFO fleet sighting that had happened (and been filmed) a few weeks prior. The Russian government sent a team of scientists to examine the crop circle to prove it's authenticity and to decipher what it means.
It has been suggested that UFO/alien disclosure may happen in Russia within the next twelve months. Russia have also released images of anomalies on the moon, as the images to the right taken by their Luna-9 orbiter show.
In April 2005 CEIFO (the Ecuadorian Commitee for the study of the UFO phenomenon) was formed, which saw the Ecuadorian military working alongside civilians to produce a credible report aimed at ending the secrecy surrounding the UFO presence. Initially, military officials were worried about the state of their reputations and careers upon going public with the information and so the president at the time, Rafael Correa, intervened and authorization was granted by the Minister of Defense.
Since the formation of the committee Ecuador have been deregulating and publicly releasing all of their UFO files and all documents relating to all future UFO activities are to remain unclassified.
Despite the US Secret Service attempting to infiltrate and suppress the Ecuadorian commitee, they were unsuccessful and UFO information is openly accessible and abundant in Ecuador. Brazil
Since 2009 the Brazilian government have been releasing significant UFO documents, photographs and videos. The Brazilian government openly acknowledges that UFO's seem to be from an 'external' source - meaning outside of Earth. Government documents relating to a military investigation of UFO's called Operation Saucer which took place in 1977 have been declassified and have proven to be very interesting.
2,000 pages, 500 photographs and 16 hours of film relating to Operation Saucer have now been declassified and was a 1977 investigation into a 'UFO attack' which happened at the northern state of Para. The Para 'UFO invasion' is a peculiar and significant event which affected many people. Although operation Saucer never officially ended, the FAB cancelled the research in 1978 with no official explanation.
After the investigation, according to Dr Carvalho (who actually witnessed the incident), she attended to 35 patients who claim to have been struck by beams of light from the sky. The victims were suffering from fatigue, dizziness, headaches, low blood pressure, anemia and some of them had burn marks where they had been hit by the beams. There were also puncture marks within the burnt areas in addition to permanent hair loss. After investigating the incident French scientist and ufologist Dr Jacques Vallee said that these kinds of incidents are not uncommon and that they deserve scientific study. Some witnesses claimed that they actually saw alien beings inside the craft shining in beams of light through their windows.
In 2004 high ranking Brazilian Air Force (FAB) officials released a limited number of Operation Saucer documents to ufologists for research. The documents explain how the Brazilian military interviewed UFO witnesses, took photographs of UFO's and even witnessed the UFO's themselves. They also admit that the FAB had been studying UFO's discreetly since 1954.
In the video to the right Brazilian Colonel Hollanda explains how he investigated and witnessed the incident. Shortly after releasing this information Hollanda was found dead, allegedly as a result of suicide. As with many UFO researchers, mysterious circumstances surround his death.
USA
As already mentioned, NASA officials came forward in 1996 to tell of what they know about structures on the moon. In 2001 Dr Steven Greer started the Disclosure project, a non-profit organization aimed at getting the truth out to the public. Over 500 top government and military officials have publicly stated their will to testify before congress that they are telling the truth about the UFO/EBE (Extraterrestrial Biological Entity) presence. Some of these officials are from high up levels in the Pentagon.
Despite briefing the Obama administration and the recent public petition campaigning for the disclosure of a UFO/EBE presence, the White House's official response was that there is no credible evidence of either a presence or a cover-up. However, the UK's MoD have already released documents confirming that they found evidence of the existence of MJ-12 or Majestic-12 - a small group of highly ranked people who were assigned to deal with the UFO/EBE presence - although they could (rather conveniently) find no further information on the subject.
Although the government claimed that the secret stamp on the leaked MJ-12 documents was not in use at that time, it was later discovered that yes the stamp was indeed used at that time on other official declassified documents proving that the government were lying. In addition, Ufologist Stanton Friedman met up with a woman referenced in the documents, Charlette Mann, to find out if the documents were accurate or a hoax. Charlette Mann confirmed that the 1941 UFO crash and retrieval referenced in the MJ-12 documents was indeed a very real incident and that she was threatened into keeping quiet.
After seeing the Disclosure project, Gary McKinnon hacked into several computer systems owned by USAF, DoD, US Army and the Pentagon. McKinnon was interviewed by project Camelot and claimed that he found evidence that NASA do indeed airbrush anomalies out of their images before going public. He also claims to have discovered an image of a huge alien spacecraft suspended above Earth's northern hemisphere and a list of non-terrestrial officers, relating to fleet-to-fleet transfers.
If the USA have indeed been reverse engineering extraterrestrial technology, as alleged, then it's reasonable to expect them to remain secretive on the issue.
