Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

I am glad to announce that I am in discussion with the leadership of MUFON about the Billy Meier UFO case. I have informed them that there are at least three more highly credible professionals in the fields of science and technology, who are now endorsing the authenticity of the Meier case and its evidence. These people wish to stay in the background for now but may be willing to participate in a public presentation with MUFON regarding the authenticity of the case.
SInce my contacts at MUFON have assured me that there is no willful complicity at this time with any parties to hide or suppress the Meier case, they also agree that this is indeed the most propitious time to make a definitive assessment and publicly express their position. I have asked that should MUFON disagree that the case is authentic, they present credible evidence that supports an opposing position and substantiates any claims against the authenticity of Meier’s evidence.
I should also make it clear that it is not necessary for any of the parties to agree with, or promote, the Meier case and its information, only that the matter of its authenticity be settled for the expressed purpose of…letting the public determine the truth, validity and value of the information, prophecies, predictions, spiritual teaching, etc., for themselves.

Witness statement:“I saw two bright white lights; at first glance I believed it to be an aircraft due to the close proximity of the lights; as they are situated either side of a fuselage. I noticed that the white lights had a blue hue around them. I thought this would be from xenon type lights where the light becomes refracted and can cause colour differentiation. I didn’t think much of it. This lasted around 10 seconds. I then noticed at the same elevation coming in from the south, another light. This light appeared to fly up toward the first light I had seen.”
Witness continues: “The movements of this smaller one were on par with a fighter jet. I kept watching and I believed that it was a jet intercepting an aircraft which had taken off from Heathrow. I then saw movements from this smaller one, like nothing I have ever seen before. It was sporadic, extremely fast and in no way continued to resemble a fighter. I know that if it was a fighter, I would only be seeing these lights when the back of the aircraft would be facing my direction; i.e. seeing the afterburner. This light was constant; it looked like a fly in the way it could instantly change direction. The velocity, in which it moved, would have resulted in aircraft stress; it would be destroyed. Nothing can move in the way this thing did. However around 5 minutes later, the original light reappeared; it did not move, it stayed where it was in the sky. Then, the light went off. I would say the objects were around 50- 70 miles away.”

Former Coast Guard sailor reveals encounter with ‘humanoid creature’
A former U.S. Coast Guard sailor recalls an incident with a “transparent, oval-shaped craft” that moved within 200 yards of his vessel that revealed a “humanoid pilot” before quickly disappearing, according to June 13, 2014, testimony in Case 57018 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The incident occurred in late 1978 or early 1979 near Cuba on a “law enforcement Coast Guard cutter” while the witness was standing near the fantail with another sailor when the object was first seen.
“I witnessed a transparent, oval-shaped craft that cut across the back of the ship maybe 100 to 200 yards away,” the witness stated. The witness got a good look at the craft.
“I could clearly see a frame inside the craft and the humanoid pilot as he abruptly turned to look at us.” But the sighting was quick.
“As it glided from off to the backside to the back of the ship, in the blink of an eye it vanished. Many years later I found something online that looked exactly like the creature I witnessed.”

A part of North Carolina came dangerously close to being obliterated in 1961. A newly declassified report discusses a US bomber that broke in half while flying over the state in January of that year, causing the two nuclear bombs it was carrying to plummet to the ground near Goldsboro—and reveals that those bombs came much closer to detonation than was previously known. A parachute opened for one of the bombs, which landed intact; the safing pins that conducted power from a generator had been pulled, preventing a blast. Still, it completed five of the six steps to detonation, Fox News reports. Had two cockpit wires touched as the plane disintegrated, it could have exploded. As for the second bomb, it landed in a freefall, which caused the switch to flip to the “armed” position, RT reports.
What kept it from going off? “The shock also damaged the switch contacts, which had to be intact for the weapon to detonate,” the National Security Archive’s Bill Burr explains. The incident was first mentioned in a book by Eric Schlosser last year, but the report confirms just how close the US came to devastation. As CNN points out, the MK39 bombs had an explosive yield of 3.8 megatons; the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were 0.01 and 0.02 megatons, respectively. “There would have been a 100% kill zone for 8.5 miles in every direction,” said the Air Force weapons specialist tasked with disarming the bombs. “By the slightest margin of chance, literally the failure of two wires to cross, a nuclear explosion was averted,” Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara said at the time. – Newser
The impressive designs are based on Harold White’s real-life work developing a genuine warp drive.
White, who is head of NASA’s Advanced Propulsion Team, has been attempting to go where no physicist has gone before by designing a warp drive that will enable spacecraft to travel faster than the speed of light.
These new conceptual drawings based on his work were created by artist Mark Rademaker who took over 1,600 hours to make them. The impressive warp speed spaceship certainly looks the part and wouldn’t seem out of place in an episode of Star Trek.
“There’s no speed limit on the expansion and contraction of space,” said White whose warp drive concept involves bending space both in front and behind the vehicle to propel it forwards.

My wife and I were asleep and I heard tapping on the window that woke me up. I just rolled over and I mumbled “ignore it babe” vaguely in my sleep. It was very annoying because I had the next day off so I was actually planning to have a lay in — my one day off and I get woken up in the middle of the night. Rolling over and checking my phone time it says 2:34AM. I sense that I needed to use the bathroom and make my way out of bed. While opening the bedroom door I can see small red lights that appeared in our hallway and by now I’m fully awake. The lights were only there for a few seconds but were very bright and I shrugged it off as car lights. I know I wasn’t thinking right and a part of me knew that it wasn’t, but I honestly just wanted to do my business and then go back to bed.
Halfway down the hall I get to our toilet and fling on the light. I do my business and wash my hands. While wiping my hands onto our towel I quickly see something run past the door. I mean fucking run! We have no dogs because im allergic and we don’t have any kids yet.
Immediately my back is up and I slowly creep out of the hallway and fling on the lights. (so many horror films i’ve seen just walk out in the dark to investigate like wtf?) I make my way slowly to the bedroom and I double lock the bedroom door.
I figured that it was just some animal that somehow found their way into our house and me turning on the lights scared it away. I’d also like to see an animal undo a double locked door. I thought that i’d deal with whatever aftermath tomorrow morning.
I must have fallen asleep because I awoke to the light just creeping in from the curtains. Turning over to cuddle my wife I can see shes already awake and staring up at me. Her eyes straight away go from looking at me to the middle of the room.
In the corner of the room I saw the light creeping over to what looked like a small child, but it was shaped differently. It was hairless, had a massive head and it’s arms appeared to be longer than its legs. I imagined when it walked its arms must have dragged behind him or whatever. It was very very very skinny and it was crouched over on its knees just looking at the floor.
My eyes adjusted to what i’m actually seeing and the fear and the dread washed over me. I grabbed my revolver that I leave on the bed stand in one quick move and shakily pointed it at this being. My wife quickly turned on the bed stand light. It started to lift its head up to me and had the biggest..blackest eyes i’ve ever seen. It only had a slit for a mouth and it didn’t have any ears at all. Its still got its hands over its knees but now staring straight at me and for a second I was transfixed to staring into those eyes. I honestly felt that it was scanning me or searching me with them.
It got up and it must have been around the height to come to my hip. It’s still staring at me and I swear to you there was a very bright flash and the thing was gone. I don’t know where it went, how it managed to get through 2 double locked doors. Where was the light? What even was the light? Where did the thing go?!
I can’t explain it but after the light there wasn’t anything but my wife and i. I searched the dresser incase it may have jumped in there but nothing. I quickly grabbed my wife and we frantically went over to the neighbors house. Banging on the door my neighbor (that i’ve only met twice) came to the door saying “do you know what time it is?! oh shit. come inside”
He says he must have known something had happened for us to be running over there in the middle of the night. We’re now in his kitchen and i broke down in tears. I explained everything and how I failed at protecting my wife. I stressed my concern and confusion as to what this thing is or how it managed to get in and even out.
My neighbor opened the whisky bottle and said that we can stay there for the rest of the night. Him and I sat up talking while my wife curled up next to me on the sofa. She didn’t want to go anywhere without me or have her out of my sight. The next morning the three of us went back to our house and throughly searched the place. I straight away took the hallway.
We didn’t find a single trace of a break in. Everything was where it was left and nothing was out of place.
2010-02-02 – 6:23PM: The sighting occurred on a side street in an industrial neighborhood, a few blocks from the intersection of Capital and Palmer in Milwaukee, WI. A friend was in a meeting with a local community organization and I decided to stay in the car to make some work related phone calls. I had just finished up with the phone calls when I decided to step out of the car for a cigarette. I leaned up against the driver-side door of the car facing the South as I smoked. I noticed movement some movement to my right, and looked in that direction. An object anywhere from 4 to 5.5 feet long oriented perpendicular to the ground like so: | was floating about 15 feet off the ground. The object was moving from the West to the East at about 6 – 8 miles per hour with a very shallow guide slope, about 1 degree.
At first I thought that the object might be a kite cut loose from its string with how smoothly and quietly it was gliding along, until it passed underneath some power lines and a few feet later it ascended vertically by about 5 feet to clear the top of a building that it was headed for. It then moved parallel to the top of the building for about 300 feet until my view of the object became obstructed by another taller building to my left. The object was an imperfect cylindrical shape with a few small protrusions here and there.
When I realized that the object was not a wayward kite, I thought about reports of flying humanoids. However, the protrusions didn’t seem to fit with what was described in those accounts – additionally there was a brief metallic flash as light from a lamp post reflected off of the object – this does not seem to fit with the description of flying humanoids either. Other than the brief metallic flash the object was entirely black. The closest the object’s path took it to me was about 120 feet and I was able to observe the object for about 2 minutes, so I had ample opportunity to try to identify the object and for the life of me I cannot think of anything that this object could have been. Even after going home and doing a Google image search for UAVs nothing I have ever seen can match up with the description of this object. My reaction to this object was initially one of pure curiosity until after I had dropped my friend off at his place, then I became extremely nervous and scared.
NOTE: This report was initially posted on the MUFON CMS a few weeks after the encounter. I received an email with a similar description a few weeks after it was reported to MUFON (email acknowledged the MUFON report). The email was supposedly sent by a friend of the witness. Though I had some doubts, I was told that the witness had been very ill since the encounter and asked their friend to make inquiries. I never received a follow-up correspondence.

Majestic 12 is the name of an alleged organization created by President Truman to manage UFO and extraterrestrial investigations and maintaining strict secrecy in these areas. Many believe they have gone so far as to kill to keep secrets regarding interactions with the U.S. government and extraterrestrial civilizations.
The Majestic 12 (aka MJ-12) organization has become legendary in UFO circles, and has spawned a countless number of books and documentaries. It has even inspired TV shows and movies. The TV show Dark Skies was based on MJ-12, and MJ-12 thwarted Mulder and Scully several times on the X-Files.
The question begs, if this group is so super secret, like they are represented on TV, then how do we know about them? The answer to that question is a tricky one. Most references to the origins of these documents refer to a TV producer who received a mysterious package in the mail on a roll of film in 1984. When developed, the pictures contained top secret documents regarding MJ-12 and their research, including the recovery of crashed space craft and alien bodies.
However, what is often ignored, glossed over, or has just been lost to obscurity, is the fact that the first mention of MJ-12 was in a document that was alleged by Richard Doty, an ex-special agent for the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), to have been created as disinformation. He says he gave the document to UFO researchers while he worked for AFOSI, and was order to do so by his superiors. He says this was only one incident in a campaign that lasted years.
Hesitant to take his word for it, I requested documents related to his claims from AFOSI via the Freedom of Information Act Request (FOIA). The documents I received supported some of what he said, but told a different story. They do document the interactions with AFOSI and one UFO researcher, but do not include passing him disinformation. In fact, they say two New Mexico state senators requested information about the nature of their interaction with the UFO researcher, to which AFOSI replied they received his information, but did not engage in any sort of formal investigation.
Doty says this isn’t true, and although the AFOSI documents do mention Doty as the person who relayed some of this information to the senators, he says all the while a disinformation campaign was underway. Whether or not it was, there is an abundance of information showing that, whether ordered to do so or not, he was dispensing disinformation. Some of which were the first alleged top secret documents referring to the elusive Majestic 12.
Could this AFOSI special agent have been selected as the pigeon to pass along these secret documents to UFO researchers as a government program to slowly disseminate the truth about extraterrestrial visitation to get the public ready for our inevitable introduction to the galactic neighborhood? Or could Doty have made all of this stuff up on his own? Or, as he suggests, could these documents have been made to make UFO researchers believe they were observing alien technology, when in fact they were catching glimpses of secret U.S. Air Force projects?
To be honest, I am not 100% sure what the answer is. Either way, the true history of the origins of the Majestic 12 documents is much more sordid than most are lead to believe. AFOSI did comment on the documents as part of a FBI investigation. They responded by returning the documents with the word “BOGUS” written on them in big black marker. Time: evening
Two 16-year old boys, James Yanchitis and Marvin Muñoz were walking home along Fourth Street and New Jersey Street when they reached a corner parallel to the New Jersey Turnpike. There the Turnpike is elevated and there is an extremely steep incline going down from the busy stre…et above which leads to Fourth Street. A very large high wire fence runs along the edge of the other street below where the boys were walking, making it incredibly difficult to near impossible for anyone to want to climb up the incline to the turnpike above. There are bright street lights in that area, which gave the boys a good glimpse of what they called, “the strangest guy we have ever seen. Yanchitis noticed the strange entity first. “He was standing behind that fence”, he stated later to investigators. “I don’t know how he got there. He was the biggest man I ever saw.” “Jimmy nudged me”. Marvin Muñoz reported to police, and said, ‘Who’s that guy standing behind you?” “I looked around and there he was—then he grinned a big old grin.” There had been recent reported incidents of violence in the nearby neighborhood, such as a middle age resident being chased by a “tall green man” down that same street on the same night, so the boys fled quickly. The man was over six feet tall, they agreed, and was dressed in a sparkling green coverall costume that shimmered and seemed to reflect the street lights. There was a wide black belt around his waist. The boys also said, “He had a very dark complexion, and little round eyes…real beady…set far apart.” The most frightening and bizarre aspect of the encounter is the fact that they could not remember seeing any hair, ears, or nose on this figure.

Time: 02:30 a.m.
It was 72-year old George O’Barski’s custom to drive to a nearby all-night dinner for a late snack before returning home. To get there, he’d drive through North Hudson Park to avoid traffic lights. On this night in January 1975, he had barely turned into the park when his radio began to emit heavy static. He slowed down to fiddle with it, grumbling to himself about the anticipated high cost of repair. His left hand window was half-open, as it was a mild night. The radio then cut out altogether, just as other things began to happen: “I heard this damned noise. I thought: ‘What the hell was that? No trucks (are) allowed in here…’and I saw over my (left) shoulder this—thing coming. It looked like a great big pancake that had puffed up, you know? It was flat, I would say, maybe six feet high, and the thing landed, right in front of me, in the park! “There’s some trees there (along the sidewalk on the left)…It landed just the other side of the trees. Then when I came ahead, there’s an opening there, and Jeez! I seen ‘em there, you know? I seem ‘em, people come right down!…It came in about ten feet off the ground, and that’s when they came out, and then it settled to the ground…but the little guys came out before the rest came down. “It was off the ground, and I seen this thing come down like a stairway, or ladders—I don’t know what the hell it was—and I seen all these guys come down…like kids coming down a fire escape. I’d guess, in round figures, then—might have been eight, nine, eleven. They were short! Maybe three and a half feet tall…and they had helmets on, or something. I couldn’t see their faces…But you could see their arms—they had gloves on, I could see that. The whole thing was a uniform, or something…It was dark (in color). And they had feet, legs same as any other person—only they were short! “They had these little shovels…like a handle on, like little bags, and they had these little shovels…might have been large spoons, or something—and they were working like little beavers, you know? All over the ground…Well, they filled these little bags up…There was light all through there because there were a lot of windows all the way around, like slits…maybe a foot wide, six to eight inches, and spaced apart about a foot, a foot and a half. “It was three minutes and they must’ve scooted up. As I say, they got out before it landed, got filled up, and by the time it landed they were able to get back in, right? And they took off. It was that quick. I hear this droning, you know? And I notice this thing—it just took off…and there was no propellers on it, or nothing! It just seemed to float, but boy! It went just like that!…I thought, man, either I am going crazy, or something’s awful wrong going on there, you know?…You know, even after I got through the park, (if) I seen a cop I wouldn’t ‘ve said a thing!” George forgot the late snack and headed straight for home. He went back the next day and found several little holes on the ground. They were about four inches, five inches wide, and six inches deep. O’Barski said he saw several antenna-like projections standing straight up above the dome. The sides of the object he explained were approximately six feet high, with another two or three feet at the highest point of the dome. He said the color of the object was dark, or black, and he described another “window,” or foot-wide band of light, that encircled the object where the sides and the dome met; this emitted the same incandescent colored light as the vertical panels around the sides. The doorway from which the occupants emerged was on the side of the object facing George’s closest position; it opened inward and was in complete darkness, about as wide as two of the vertical “windows.” The object did not descend all the way to the ground, but came down to about four feet, at which time the figures quickly re-entered in pairs. They looked like “little kids in snowsuits,” according to O’Barski, complete with shoes or boots that did not appear to be separate from the rest of the uniform. The covering over their heads was more like a ski-hood than an actual helmet. O’Barski said that the humming noise was more pronounced during the arrival and departure of the object, and he compared it to “a refrigerator that’s starting up.”
This is what my sister and I experienced in Death Valley Ca. I’m always looking for input from anyone who might have any information on it. My experience involves contact with beings from parallel universes. It happened in Death Valley National Park about three years ago up to the present. My sister is also involved. We would go down to the park quite a bit even before our encounter. Around 2007 or so I began to get sick when we would go to the park. I would get nauseous and we blamed it on car sickness but it only happened in the park. We kept guessing about air pressure etc but couldn’t come up with anything. A year or so later while driving along the salt flat my sister began to see an image of a thing that looked like a tall skinny vase stuck in the ground like a post. It had triangle flaps as if punched through from the inside with a can opener. There were one above another constituting 8 in all, equidistant on four sides of the device. Red light came from under the flaps which pointed downward and white light came from the top of the “vase”. The thing was round and had a v shape to the top. Over the next year she saw a lot of visions and would go into a trance like state sometimes mumbling strange words. A recurring character in her visions was a tall man about 7+ feet tall in a coarsely woven robe reaching to his ankles or there about. His eyes were had black irises, his hair was strait and black cropped evenly just above the shoulders. The thing that stood out was the size of his eyes, about twice the size of a normal persons. He resembled statues of the pharaoh Akhenaten in many ways. As time went on my sister saw other people that looked like the man in the robe but more human looking and smaller. Eventually one night at badwater basinmy sister began to see the man’s face , we walked out onto the salt flat and she tried speaking to the vision she was seeing. Nothing happened at first but then the man started speaking in some odd language very fast and excitedly. Our next encounter was two weeks later. My sister gets sick and disoriented in the valley as well and the encounter at badwater made her pretty sick. This time when she saw the vision , the man spoke broken English,he said his name was Kahalt he told her about his ancestors coming to the world he was on from another, and installing many devices like the one she saw on parallel worlds in that aria 5,000 years ago. The problem was that the devices worked on a machine brain interface, connecting peoples brains and other machines together across various worlds. The main purpose of the machines apparently was to allow people to “travel” as he put it between parallel worlds. What happened is that the brain interface was designed to fit Kahalt’s people not the local people found on that cluster of parallel worlds, and it resulted in killing off many worlds and filling others with sick or dieing people depending on how compatible they were with the machine.
Mary B. is a free-lance writer from Ohio. At around the age of ten she experienced an astral projection–or an actual physical encounter– it is all hazy to her now; but she remembers one night seeing a large spaceship hovering about twenty feet off the ground in her backyard.
A door opened in the bottom of the craft, and a light beamed down. A woman in a white gown appeared to Mary. Mary, reared as a Roman Catholic, somehow assumed the woman was Joan of Arc. She was not afraid of the glowing woman, and the entity gave her a message that she still, as an adult person, cannot understand very well.
When she was eleven, a man in a spaceship came and took Mary inside of it. She remembers that it was all white, except for a purple object on a low white table. The experience seemed to have been done by astral projection.
Mary says that “they” have often guided her and her husband to various places. Once they saw seven craft, including a mother ship. Two other witnesses confirmed their sightings, and the experience was reported to a local UFO investigating group.
Mary describes the entities with which she has contact as “extremely good-looking humans.” They have a light around them and they glow, butthey appear to be solid. Although she has been in contact with them for years, their age always appears to be roughly twenty-six to thirty years old. The hair of both male and female is cut in a page-boy style. The man has black hair and the woman's is a golden blond. The woman wears a long white gown with a round neck. The man wears a white pantsuit garment. Both of them are very kind.
“They are not permitted to tell me everything, but they give hints so I can get the answers to my questions. They help me with my life. I don't receive contact with them very often, but they are watching me. They give me advice, which I try always to follow.”
Consider this account of the kind of UFO-OBE that results in a recognition between strangers:
When Kevin answered the door to his apartment, he saw a close friend and a complete stranger standing there. The newcomer had a look of shock on his face. For most of the evening he kept staring at Kevin.
Finally, he told Kevin that he had had a weird dream about someone he'd never met before, and he had recognized Kevin as the man in the dream.
He said that in his dream he had been in a clearing with a lot of other people. They seemed to be waiting for someone or something. He did not know anyone there except Kevin. He said that Kevin smiled at him and made him feel calm and peaceful.
The sky was clear and star-studded except for a large circular patch directly overhead. Then he noticed that there was a large oval object blotting out the sky. As he realized this, an opening appeared in the center of the object, and a blue-white light spilled out.
He felt strange and he looked around to see how the others wereHe blacked out and came to in a dome-shaped room. The other people appeared to be awakening at the same time. Everyone had been placed in one of the chairs that lined the walls in three tiers. Across from them were electronic panels with flashing lights, dials, switches. In the center of the cabinets were two seats in front of what appeared to be control panels. Behind this area was a brilliant light. In the exact center of the room was a column, or pole, running through the floor and ceiling. A low railing, about three feet high, encircled the column.
He looked at the other men and women, and they appeared to be as confused as he was. He felt as though someone were missing. Then everyone turned and looked toward the center of the room. There stood a man in a close-fitting, one-piece silvery spacesuit that covered his hands and feet. He wore a globe over his head that obscured his features. “Welcome aboard, friends,” he said, as he reached up and removed the globe. And the stranger said that it was Kevin who welcomed the Earthlings aboard the spaceship.
Kevin said that he has now experienced this sort of thing again and again over a period of a year and a half. A shocked stranger whom he has just met stares at him in surprise and wonder, then relates the same dream, down to the most minute details.
After the fifth or sixth time, Kevin said that he began thinking, “Oh, no, not again! I can't say how many times this has happened. I have lost track.”
Kevin has come to believe that “…a lot of us have been controlled telepathically, somehow or other, by UFO intelligences. That's just a feelingI have. I have no proof.”
And that is the problem with so much of the entire whole UFO phenomenon. What concrete evidence is there for such contact experiences as the above? So many of the weird things that have occurred around UFOs seem to be leading us increasingly into the area of parapsychology.
In our book Real Encounters, Different Dimensions, and Otherworldy Beings we suggest that the many guises of alien beings –which we term the Other– exist only a frequency away in the background of the unconscious, waiting for some triggering mechanism to bring it into focus. If there is truly but one Life Force and a common, collective unconscious for Homo sapiens, then, in the larger sense anycontact with the Other becomes part of the common experience of all humankind,whether the incident is reported in the popular press or pondered quietly in the mind of the individual observer.

Russia and China have handed the UN a proposal for banning weapons in Outer Space. The US and Israel have voted against such a treaty proposed by the UN which would outlaw space weapons. The treaty proposed by China is called the PPT and they submitted this treaty to the UN in 2008 with Russia’s support.
China’s worries are about disruption and destruction of their satellites and Russia agrees. The US remains quiet on issue. China has been exploring the moon with their rover though it’s experienced difficulties. Russia lost a military satellite recently. The question needs to be asked why doesn’t US jump at the chance to sign a PPT.
Has the US weaponized space already? I’ve talked to a NASA insider who told me Forbidden Zones existed on the Moon. NASA and US have sent strong warnings to all nations to leave Apollo sites alone. I was told that NASA and the US military worked together in projects over decades. Do Russia and China know the US has space weapons? Is this why they want the PPT signed by the UN? I’ve written in past articles about how WWIII will be different and may include weapons from space. China and Russia see it too. Shouldn't the US want this treaty? It makes you wonder if Star Wars really is prophetic and in Earth’s future.
Social science is being militarised to develop ‘operational tools’ to target peaceful activists and protest movements

A US Department of Defense (DoD) research programme is funding universities to model the dynamics, risks and tipping points for large-scale civil unrest across the world, under the supervision of various US military agencies. The multi-million dollar programme is designed to develop immediate and long-term “warfighter-relevant insights” for senior officials and decision makers in “the defense policy community,” and to inform policy implemented by “combatant commands.”
Launched in 2008 – the year of the global banking crisis – the DoD ‘Minerva Research Initiative’ partners with universities “to improve DoD’s basic understanding of the social, cultural, behavioral, and political forces that shape regions of the world of strategic importance to the US.”
Among the projects awarded for the period 2014-2017 is a Cornell University-led study managed by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research which aims to develop an empirical model “of the dynamics of social movement mobilisation and contagions.” The project will determine “the critical mass (tipping point)” of social contagians by studying their “digital traces” in the cases of “the 2011 Egyptian revolution, the 2011 Russian Duma elections, the 2012 Nigerian fuel subsidy crisis and the 2013 Gazi park protests in Turkey.”
Twitter posts and conversations will be examined “to identify individuals mobilised in a social contagion and when they become mobilised.”
Another project awarded this year to the University of Washington “seeks to uncover the conditions under which political movements aimed at large-scale political and economic change originate,” along with their “characteristics and consequences.” The project, managed by the US Army Research Office, focuses on “large-scale movements involving more than 1,000 participants in enduring activity,” and will cover 58 countries in total.
Last year, the DoD’s Minerva Initiative funded a project to determine ‘Who Does Not Become a Terrorist, and Why?’ which, however, conflates peaceful activists with “supporters of political violence” who are different from terrorists only in that they do not embark on “armed militancy” themselves. The project explicitly sets out to study non-violent activists:
“In every context we find many individuals who share the demographic, family, cultural, and/or socioeconomic background of those who decided to engage in terrorism, and yet refrained themselves from taking up armed militancy, even though they were sympathetic to the end goals of armed groups. The field of terrorism studies has not, until recently, attempted to look at this control group. This project is not about terrorists, but about supporters of political violence.”
The project’s 14 case studies each “involve extensive interviews with ten or more activists and militants in parties and NGOs who, though sympathetic to radical causes, have chosen a path of non-violence.”
I contacted the project’s principal investigator, Prof Maria Rasmussen of the US Naval Postgraduate School, asking why non-violent activists working for NGOs should be equated to supporters of political violence – and which “parties and NGOs” were being investigated – but received no response.
Similarly, Minerva programme staff refused to answer a series of similar questions I put to them, including asking how “radical causes” promoted by peaceful NGOs constituted a potential national security threat of interest to the DoD.
Among my questions, I asked:
“Does the US Department of Defense see protest movements and social activism in different parts of the world as a threat to US national security? If so, why? Does the US Department of Defense consider political movements aiming for large scale political and economic change as a national security matter? If so, why? Activism, protest, ‘political movements’ and of course NGOs are a vital element of a healthy civil society and democracy – why is it that the DoD is funding research to investigate such issues?”
Minerva’s programme director Dr Erin Fitzgerald said “I appreciate your concerns and am glad that you reached out to give us the opportunity to clarify” before promising a more detailed response. Instead, I received the following bland statement from the DoD’s press office
“The Department of Defense takes seriously its role in the security of the United States, its citizens, and US allies and partners. While every security challenge does not cause conflict, and every conflict does not involve the US military, Minerva helps fund basic social science research that helps increase the Department of Defense’s understanding of what causes instability and insecurity around the world. By better understanding these conflicts and their causes beforehand, the Department of Defense can better prepare for the dynamic future security environment.”
In 2013, Minerva funded a University of Maryland project in collaboration with the US Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to gauge the risk of civil unrest due to climate change. The three-year $1.9 million project is developing models to anticipate what could happen to societies under a range of potential climate change scenarios.
From the outset, the Minerva programme was slated to provide over $75 million over five years for social and behavioural science research. This year alone it has been allocated a total budget of $17.8 million by US Congress.
The internal email from Prof Steve Corman, a principal investigator for the project, describes a meeting hosted by the DoD’s Human Social Cultural and Behavioural Modeling (HSCB) programme in which senior Pentagon officials said their priority was “to develop capabilities that are deliverable quickly” in the form of “models and tools that can be integrated with operations.”
Although Office of Naval Research supervisor Dr Harold Hawkins had assured the university researchers at the outset that the project was merely “a basic research effort, so we shouldn’t be concerned about doing applied stuff”, the meeting in fact showed that DoD is looking to “feed results” into “applications,” Corman said in the email. He advised his researchers to “think about shaping results, reports, etc., so they [DoD] can clearly see their application for tools that can be taken to the field.”
Many independent scholars are critical of what they see as the US government’s efforts to militarise social science in the service of war. In May 2008, the American Anthropological Association (AAA) wrote to the US government noting that the Pentagon lacks “the kind of infrastructure for evaluating anthropological [and other social science] research” in a way that involves “rigorous, balanced and objective peer review”, calling for such research to be managed instead by civilian agencies like the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The following month, the DoD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the NSF to cooperate on the management of Minerva. In response, the AAA cautioned that although research proposals would now be evaluated by NSF’s merit-review panels. “Pentagon officials will have decision-making power in deciding who sits on the panels”
“… there remain concerns within the discipline that research will only be funded when it supports the Pentagon’s agenda. Other critics of the programme, including the Network of Concerned Anthropologists, have raised concerns that the programme would discourage research in other important areas and undermine the role of the university as a place for independent discussion and critique of the military.”
According to Prof David Price, a cultural anthropologist at St Martin’s University in Washington DC and author of Weaponizing Anthropology: Social Science in Service of the Militarized State, “when you looked at the individual bits of many of these projects they sort of looked like normal social science, textual analysis, historical research, and so on, but when you added these bits up they all shared themes of legibility with all the distortions of over-simplification. Minerva is farming out the piece-work of empire in ways that can allow individuals to disassociate their individual contributions from the larger project.”
Prof Price has previously exposed how the Pentagon’s Human Terrain Systems (HTS) programme – designed to embed social scientists in military field operations – routinely conducted training scenarios set in regions “within the United States.”
Citing a summary critique of the programme sent to HTS directors by a former employee, Price reported that the HTS training scenarios “adapted COIN [counterinsurgency] for Afghanistan/Iraq” to domestic situations “in the USA where the local population was seen from the military perspective as threatening the established balance of power and influence, and challenging law and order.”
One war-game, said Price, involved environmental activists protesting pollution from a coal-fired plant near Missouri, some of whom were members of the well-known environmental NGO Sierra Club. Participants were tasked to “identify those who were ‘problem-solvers’ and those who were ‘problem-causers,’ and the rest of the population whom would be the target of the information operations to move their Center of Gravity toward that set of viewpoints and values which was the ‘desired end-state’ of the military’s strategy.”
James Petras, Bartle Professor of Sociology at Binghamton University in New York, concurs with Price’s concerns. Minerva-funded social scientists tied to Pentagon counterinsurgency operations are involved in the “study of emotions in stoking or quelling ideologically driven movements,” he said, including how “to counteract grassroots movements.”
Minerva is a prime example of the deeply narrow-minded and self-defeating nature of military ideology. Worse still, the unwillingness of DoD officials to answer the most basic questions is symptomatic of a simple fact – in their unswerving mission to defend an increasingly unpopular global system serving the interests of a tiny minority, security agencies have no qualms about painting the rest of us as potential terrorists.

The monsters are multiplying. Just months after astronomers announced hints of a giant “Planet X” lurking beyond Pluto, a team in Spain says there may actually be two supersized planets hiding in the outer reaches of our solar system.
When potential dwarf planet 2012 VP113 was discovered in March, it joined a handful of unusual rocky objects known to reside beyond the orbit of Pluto. These small objects have curiously aligned orbits, which hints that an unseen planet even further out is influencing their behaviour. Scientists calculated that this world would be about 10 times the mass of Earth and would orbit at roughly 250 times Earth’s distance from the sun.
Now Carlos and Raul de la Fuente Marcos at the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain have taken another look at these distant bodies. As well as confirming their bizarre orbital alignment, the pair found additional puzzling patterns. Small groups of the objects have very similar orbital paths. Because they are not massive enough to be tugging on each other, the researchers think the objects are being “shepherded” by a larger object in a pattern known as orbital resonance.
Planet shepherd
For instance, we know that Neptune and Pluto are in orbital resonance – for every two orbits Pluto makes around the sun, Neptune makes three. Similarly, one group of small objects seems to be in lockstep with a much more distant, unseen planet. That world would have a mass between that of Mars and Saturn and would sit about 200 times Earth’s distance from the sun.
Some of the smaller objects have very elongated orbits that would take them out to this distance. It is unusual for a large planet to orbit so close to other bodies unless it is dynamically tied to something else, so the researchers suggest that the large planet is itself in resonance with a more massive world at about 250 times the Earth-sun distance – just like the one predicted in the previous work.
Observing these putative planets will be tricky. The smaller bodies are on very elliptical orbits and were only spotted when they ventured closest to the sun. But the big planets would have roughly circular orbits and would be slow moving and dim, making them tough for current telescopes to see. “It’s not at all surprising that they haven’t been found yet,” says Carlos.
“As there are only a few of these extremely distant objects known, it’s hard to say anything definitive about the number or location of any distant planets,” says Scott Sheppard at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington DC, one of the discoverers of 2012 VP113. “However, in the near future we should have more objects to work with to help us determine the structure of the outer solar system.”
A total of 13 aircraft suddenly vanished off radars for about 25 minutes on two occasions over Austria and neighboring countries, Austria’s flight safety monitor said, calling for an EU probe into the “unprecedented” incidents.
The flights vanished from air traffic controllers’ screens in Austria on June 5 and June 10 for 25 minutes each time, Marcus Pohanka of Austro Control – Austria’s flight safety organization – said Thursday.
Air traffic control in neighboring regions of Germany and the Czech Republic also reported similar problems.
Pohanka said the location, height, and identity of the 13 aircraft vanished over Austria both times, in what he called “unprecedented” incidents, AP reported.
He added that some neighboring countries had experienced similar problems. The daily Kurier, based in Vienna, elaborated that similar problems were experienced by flight controllers in Munich and Karlsruhe in Germany and in Prague, Czech Republic.
Poahanka declined to say which airlines and planes were involved, but suggested that some may have been passenger jets, which fly at high altitudes. The EU’s Eurocontrol and European Aviation Safety Agency will investigate the incidents.
Poahanka stressed that at no time were any of the planes in danger, as extra air traffic controllers were immediately called to their posts and emergency measures were brought in, which included immediately establishing voice contact with the pilots and the widening of flight corridors.
The Kurier cited an unnamed expert as saying that the problem was most likely to do with interference between the aircraft transponders and the ground.

Het water zit opgesloten in ringwoodiet, een verschijningsvorm van het mineraal olivijn dat op een diepte van 700 kilometer wordt gevonden. De enorme omvang van het reservoir doet vermoeden dat de oceanen langzamerhand uit het inwendige van de aarde zijn voortgekomen.
“Dit is bewijs dat het water op aarde van binnenuit is gekomen,” zei hoofdonderzoeker Steven Jacobsen van de Northwestern University in de Amerikaanse staat Illinois. Het verborgen water dient mogelijk als buffer voor de oceanen aan het oppervlak, wat kan verklaren waarom ze al miljoenen jaren dezelfde omvang hebben.
Het team van Jacobsen gebruikte 2000 seisometers om seismische golven van ruim 500 aardbevingen te bestuderen. Deze golven passeren het binnenste van de aarde en kunnen aan het oppervlak worden gemeten.

Bergtoppen
Op 700 kilometer onder het aardoppervlak wordt het water als gevolg van de druk en de temperatuur uit het ringwoodiet geperst. De bevindingen van Jacobson komen overeen met een recente studie door Graham Pearson van de Universiteit van Alberta in Canada. Pearson ontdekte dat diepere lagen van de aardmantel gigantische hoeveelheden water bevatten.
Het vermoeden bestaat al langer dat er in de aardmantel oceanen van water te vinden zijn. Tot dusver heeft Jacobsen alleen bewijs dat het waterhoudende gesteente onder de Verenigde Staten kan worden gevonden. Hij wil nu weten of het ook op de rest van de planeet voorkomt.
Als al het water in het binnenste van de aarde in één keer naar boven komt, zijn de bergtoppen de enige resterende stukken land, aldus Jacobson. Het onderzoek staat in vakblad Science.
Wetenschappers hebben mogelijk een gigantische hoeveelheid water gevonden honderden kilometers onder de aarde. De oceanen die we nu kennen zou daarmee drie keer gevuld kunnen worden. Dat schrijft The Guardian.
Het water zit 660 kilometer onder de aardkorst, zeggen de Amerikaanse wetenschappers die nu vermoeden dat het water van onze oceaan oorspronkelijk van binnenin de planeet kwam. Tot nu werd er eerder van uitgegaan dat het water van ijskometen kwam.
De onderzoekers gebruikten data van seismometers over de Verenigde Staten en combineerden die info met experimenten op stenen. Zo kwamen ze erop dat het smelten en de bewegingen van steen honderden kilometers onder de grond tot een proces kan leiden waarbij water in steen vast zou komen te zitten.
Geofysicus Steve Jacobsen zegt wel dat het verborgen water onder de aarde als buffer dient op onze oceanen die daardoor al miljoenen jaren even groot blijven. “Maar als het verborgen water naar boven zou komen, zouden enkel hoge bergtoppen te zien zijn op het aardoppervlak.”

Met behulp van gegevens van drie maansondes zijn nauwkeurige metingen gedaan van de beide uitstulpingen op de maan. Deze uitstulpingen worden veroorzaakt door de zwaartekracht van de aarde. Als gevolg van de wederzijdse aantrekking zijn beide hemellichamen immers een beetje uitgerekt.
In het geval van de aarde is dit het best waar te nemen bij de oceanen. Maar ook het maanoppervlak vertoont een ongeveer 51 cm hoge uitstulping aan de voor- en achterzijde van de maan. Omdat de maan een beetje schommelt, verschuift de positie van deze vloedbergen in de tijd over een afstand van een paar cm. De metingen bevestigen wat al eerder bekend was maar dan wel op een veel nauwkeurigere schaal en voor het hele maanoppervlak.
