Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

A woman saw a glowing UFO in the sky above Sacramento, California on two separate days.
The witness, Sunda Barker, was walking home on the afternoon of August 9 when she noticed a UFO in the sky. She describes the aerial object as gold and extremely bright. And she states, “It was beautiful. It was radiant. It was just unexplainable.” She immediately began taking photos of the UFO with her iPhone camera.

Barker claims she saw this golden UFO two days later.
Local ABC affiliate KXTV News 10 aired a news segment about Barker’s sighting. Reporter Damany Lewis explains that, in describing the aerial object, Barker “didn’t want to use those three initials: U.F.O.” Like many UFO witnesses, Barker is hesitant to refer to the mysterious object as a UFO because, as she explains, “everyone thinks I’m crazy.”
KXTV News 10 meteorologist Monica Woods suggests that what Barker witnessed was a Sun Dog. She describes this phenomenon as “a halo created when lights interact with ice crystals in the atmosphere.”

“Nog 6000 plekken in Mexico waar iets bijzonders in de grond zit"
Grote opwinding in Mexico vanwege de vondst van een Mayastad in het oerwoud. Hij ligt niet ver van de beroemde ruïne-stad Chalakmul in het zuidoosten van Mexico. Het gaat om een conglomeratie van grote gebouwen, gegroepeerd rond een aantal pleinen. Het zal naar verwachting nog wel een aantal jaren duren voordat toeristen erheen kunnen.
Waarom is de Mayastad nu pas ontdekt? “Ze hebben het gewoon over het hoofd gezien,” zei NOS-correspondent Cees Zoon in het Radio 1 Journaal. “Het zuiden van Mexico bestaat uit tropische jungle. Daar ligt veel onder verborgen. Ze hebben het geld niet om dat allemaal op te graven, dus dat gebeurt beetje bij beetje. Tegenwoordig krijgen de archeologen steun van satellietfoto’s die ze een beetje in de juiste richting duwen bij het zoeken.”
“Volgens officiële schattingen zijn er ongeveer 6000 plekken in Mexico waar nog iets van grote waarde en omvang in de grond zit,” ging Zoon verder. “Deze stad dateert uit de periode tussen 600 en 900. Het Mayarijk bestond uit een reeks stadstaten die elkaar ook gewoon bevochten.”
Het gekke is alleen dat veel van de steden verlaten zijn door de Maya’s zelf toen ze in grote bloei stonden, aldus Zoon. Lange tijd hebben archeologen en historici zich afgevraagd waarom ze hun steden verlieten. De gangbare theorie is dat het kwam door een combinatie van overbevolking en een tekort aan landbouwgrond.
De stad, die de naam Lagunita draagt, bestaat onder meer uit een ommuurd terrein voor het balspel pelota en een piramide van bijna 20 meter hoog. Eén van de opzienbarendste vondsten in de verdwenen stad is een gevelsteen met een figuur in de vorm van de bek van een monster, in de Mayareligie een symbool van de onderwereld.
Wetenschappers hebben een ongezien geologisch spektakel ontdekt in Taiwan. De riviercanyon van de Daan, die pas volledig gevormd was sinds 2008, is aan een ijzingwekkend tempo aan het verdwijnen. De geologen schatten dat de rivier de kloof binnen de vijftig jaar volledig opgeslokt zal hebben. Dat meldt de BBC.
Om de drie- à vierhonderd jaar wordt het westelijke heuvelgebied van Taiwan opgeschrikt door stevige aardbevingen. De kloof van de Daan is het gevolg van de Jiji-aardbeving, die in 1999 een tien meter hoge rots naar boven duwde. In 2004 begon de rivier die natuurlijke dam te overwinnen. Het water en materiaal dat langs de rivierbedding werd meegesleurd, sneden een nieuwe kloof uit die tegen 2008 1,2 kilometer lang en 20 meter diep was.
Geologen van het GeoForschungsZentrum in het Duitse Potsdam ontdekten dat de canyon nu met eenzelfde snelheid alweer aan het verdwijnen is. Ze denken dat de rivier, die geregeld zeer heftig buiten haar oevers treedt, de kloof binnen de vijftig jaar van de kaart geveegd zal hebben. Dit snelle proces zou kunnen verklaren waarom er geen bewijs overblijft van vorige aardbevingen in de regio.
Grand canyon De onderzoekers, die hun bevindingen publiceerden in het vakblad Nature Geoscience, zijn opgewonden over hun vondst. De formatie in Taiwan staat bekend als de Grand Canyon van de Daan en vertoont volgens geoloog Kristen Cook gelijkenissen met haar kolossale naamgenoot in Arizona. Deze ontdekking laat de wetenschappers toe in sneltempo gade te slaan hoe een formatie erodeert. "We verwachten dat het proces hetzelfde zal zijn als in de Grand Canyon, maar versneld", aldus dr. Cook.
Toen ze van 2009 tot 2013 aan de universiteit van Taiwan werkte, bezocht dr. Cook de vallei 51 keer. Elke twee maanden deed ze gedetailleerde GPS-metingen en ze maakte een time-lapsefilm. Twee keer per jaar mat ze de vorm van de hele canyon met een laserscanner.
17 meter per jaar Deze metingen onthulden de snelste erosie die geologen ooit zagen. De kloof wordt vanaf zijn stroomopwaartse uiteinde opgeslokt aan een tempo van 17 meter per jaar. Deze sneltreinvaart is een gevolg van de relatieve zwakte van het gesteente en de regelmatige overstromingen, veroorzaakt door tyfoons.
De wetenschappers identificeerden bovendien een volledig nieuw erosiemechanisme, dat ze 'downstream sweep' hebben genoemd, of stroomafwaarts wegvegen. Het proces ontstaat wanneer het al water van de brede riviervlakte plots als door een trechterhals in de kloof moet. Dat veroorzaakt scherpe bochten in de stroming, die het gesteente aan het uiteinde van de kloof meesleuren.
Amerikaanse astronomen zijn erin geslaagd een middelgroot zwart gat met een ongeziene nauwkeurigheid op te meten - en zo het bestaan van deze mysterieuze objecten te bewijzen. Volgens Science Daily hanteerden de wetenschappers een techniek die nooit eerder gebruikt werd. Het zwarte gat dat ze ontdekten, is ongeveer 400 keer zo groot als onze zon en bevindt zich op 12 miljoen lichtjaren van de Melkweg.
Het heelal is bezaaid met ontelbare zwarte gaten, objecten met een massa die zo dicht is dat zelfs licht niet aan hun zwaartekracht kan ontsnappen. Zwarte gaten zijn bijna allemaal onder te verdelen in twee klasses: grote en superzware zwarte gaten. Die eerste soort varieert van 10 tot 100 zonnemassa's en is een overblijfsel van een stervende ster. In de kernen van de meeste sterrenstelsels zijn superzware zwarte gaten te vinden, met een massa van meer dan een miljoen keer onze zon.
Verspreid in het heelal zijn hier en daar nog mysterieuzere objecten te vinden. Deze middelgrote zwarte gaten variëren van 100 tot enkele honderdduizenden zonnemassa's en zijn zo moeilijk te meten dat hun bestaan ter discussie staat. Hoe ze gevormd worden, is niet geweten en sommige astronomen twijfelen of ze zich wel gedragen zoals andere zwarte gaten.
Onzichtbaar Maar nu is een team astronomen van de universiteit van Maryland erin geslaagd met een ongeëvenaarde nauwkeurigheid zo'n middelgroot zwart gat te meten, en zo het bestaan ervan te bevestigen. Hun bevindingen werden gepubliceerd in het vakblad Nature. Het zwarte gat dat de Amerikanen bestudeerden, heeft een massa van ongeveer 400 keer onze zon en ligt in het galactische stelsel Messier 82 in het sterrenstelsel Ursa Major.
Zwarte gaten zijn onzichtbaar, maar astronomen kunnen ze vinden door hun zwaartekracht op andere objecten op te sporen. Sinds 1970 observeerden astronomen honderden objecten waarvan gedacht werd dat het om middelgrote zwarte gaten ging. Maar omdat ze de massa niet konden meten, bleven er veel vraagtekens. "Om redenen die moeilijk te begrijpen zijn, weerstaan deze objecten aan de standaardmeettechnieken", zegt onderzoeker Richard Mushotzky.
En dus probeerden de astronomen van de universiteit van Maryland het op een andere manier. Een satelliettelescoop van NASA nam beelden van individuele deeltjes in de x-stralen die het zwarte gat, M82 X-1 genoemd, uitzond. De intensiteit en golflengte daarvan werd in kaart gebracht. Tussen het materiaal dat rond het vermoedelijke zwarte gat cirkelde, werden twee repetitieve lichtopflakkeringen in een ritmisch patroon ontdekt.
'Mean Mr. Mustard' "De twee lichte trillingen waren als twee stofdeeltjes die vastzitten in de groeven van een vinylplaat op een draaitafel", aldus Mushotzky. "Als de trillingen muzikale beats waren, zouden ze een specifiek ritme produceren, zoals een bossanovamelodie of een deuntje van The Beatles: 'Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park, shaves in the dark, try'na save paper'."
In muziektermen is dit een 3:2-ritme. Astronomen kunnen een 3:2-ritme van lichttrillingen gebruiken om de massa van een zwart gat te meten. De techniek werd al gebruikt op kleinere zwarte gaten, maar werd nooit eerder toegepast om middelgrote zwarte gaten te meten.
Zo konden de wetenschappers meten dat M82 X-1 428 keer de massa van de zon bedraagt. Een volgende stap is te achterhalen hoe deze klasse van zwarte gaten gevormd wordt. NASA lanceert over twee jaar een nieuwe telescoop die X-stralen kan vastleggen, de Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer. De wetenschappers uit Maryland hebben alvast zes potentiële middelgrote zwarte gaten geïdentificeerd die de nieuwe telescoop kan observeren.

Een genetische mutatie heeft er 8000 jaar geleden voor gezorgd dat Tibetanen kunnen overleven in de ijle lucht van het Tibetaans Hoogland. Voor het eerst is het gen blootgelegd dat verantwoordelijk is voor de aanpassing. In het Tibetaans Hoogland zou het voor ons moeilijk zijn om te overleven. De hoogvlakte met een gemiddelde hoogte van 4500 meter bevat veel minder zuurstof dan lager gelegen gebieden.
Hoofdonderzoeker Josef Prchal van de Universiteit van Utah toonde aan dat 8000 jaar geleden een mutatie heeft plaatsgevonden in het gen EGLN1. Vandaag de dag beschikt 88 procent van de Tibetanen over de genetische variant. Achtduizend jaar is op de schaal van de evolutionaire geschiedenis een zeer korte periode. Het onderzoek is verschenen in Nature Genetics.
“De bevindingen helpen ons de unieke aspecten van de Tibetaanse aanpassing aan grote hoogte en de menselijke evolutie beter te begrijpen,” aldus Prchal. Hij sprak meerdere keren met Chinese ambtenaren en vertegenwoordigers van de Tibetanen in India om toestemming voor de studie te krijgen, maar telkens ving hij bot. De Tibetanen weigerden om bloed af te staan.
Een collega aan zijn universiteit bleek de Tibetaanse nationaliteit te hebben en wilde wel meewerken aan het onderzoek. Toen hij ook een steunbrief van de dalai lama kreeg, was hij in staat het Tibetaanse vertrouwen te winnen en meldden 90 vrijwilligers zich aan om bloed af te staan.
Door een lager zuurstofgehalte wordt het bloed dikker, een reactie om afstervend weefsel te voeden. Hierdoor kunnen complicaties zoals hartfalen optreden. De genetische aanpassing zorgt ervoor dat de Tibetanen beschermd zijn tegen deze overreactie van het bloed. Met de opgedane kennis kunnen volgens Prchal ook andere ziektes waaronder kanker beter worden begrepen.

Mahooty is a retired civil/environmental engineer (BSCE-NMSU-1969) and worked in many projects with Shell Oil Company, US Federal Government in Environmental justice for Indian tribes, Tribal housing projects in the USPHS as a commissioned officer in water, waste water, and EPA enforcement in environmental compliance. Mahooty is active in the Zuni orders of the Kachina, Galaxy Medicine Society, Sun Clan leadership, and is a wisdom keeper of the Zuni history.
Thomas Reed: Thom Reed is an award winning South Beach fashion photographer, and the founder of Miami Models, w/clients: Polo Black Label, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. He held positions in upper management with companies, Honeywell and Entergy. The historic UFO case of the Reed Family, was assigned a Vallee classification of “CE4″ (close encounter of the 4th kind), with a Case Category of 3 (physical evidence). The case has many layers and is deeply entwined and remains one of a few CE4 cases to be mentioned within the walls of the United Nations.
Frank Kimbler:Frank Kimbler is an Assistant Professor of the Earth Science at the New Mexico Military Institute. He is a relatively new researcher in the field of UFO studies but has made some interesting physical trace discoveries related to the 1947 Roswell event. He has worked as a professional geologist for more than 30 years and has taught school for almost 1/2 of that time. He has worked as an oceanographer for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and as a mining engineer for the State of Arizona. He moved to New Mexico in 2009 after accepting a teaching position at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. Shortly after moving to Roswell he took a keen interest in the story behind the Roswell UFO incident. His research has resulted in the discovery of a number of physical artifacts from the Roswell UFO debris field area including metallic fragments, plastic, 1940?s military metal buttons, a 50-caliber bullet (WW2 era ?) and aerial photographic evidence of disturbed ground in and around the debris field. His research has been featured on a number of Internet talk shows and several National Geographic TV programs about UFOs. He does not like secrets and is dedicated to discovering answers and using good science.
James Clarkson: James Clarkson is a career investigator with over 30 years’ experience in criminal investigation and in the mysterious world of UFOs. He is a retired police sergeant having worked as a detective sergeant, fatal accident team supervisor and a patrol supervisor. After retiring with 20 years’ service, he became a child abuse detective and now has a decade of service as a fraud investigator for a state agency. He brings these skills and a no-nonsense approach to bear on the mystery of UFOs. Applying the same passion for solving mysteries to the world of High Strangeness, James Clarkson serves as the Washington State Director of MUFON and also as a member of MUFON’s STAR Team. Open Minds UFO Radio: Frank Kimbler teaches Geology and other earth sciences at the high school and college level at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. Upon moving to Roswell, Kimbler decided to put his skills to use to try and find physical evidence of the alleged UFO crash in the nearby desert. He has since found several pieces of metal and plastic that he finds very interesting. One piece of metal has undergone isoptic analysis that has shown the piece may have been manufactured off-planet. This afternoon I was talking a stroll with my son Jason on the Southport shoreline. We always tend to take our cameras along, so on the way back I snapped a few shots of Jason on the sand dunes. I was facing due east away from the sea and towards the Ormskirk direction at the time that I took the photograph. Witness said: While attending the Contact in the Desert event I left around 6:15 pm on Sunday night to get some dinner from the local Sonic drive-thru. I ordered my food and paid the woman at the window. As she handed me my change I noticed this dark ball in the sky straight ahead of me. At this point it was 6:38 pm. Watching it for only a moment I inferred that it wasn’t any kind of bird or aircraft that I’m familiar with, so I grabbed my cell phone and immediately started filming. I zoomed in to catch the object on film, and the girl at Sonic opened her window to inform me they were just waiting on my sandwich to be done. I dropped the phone as she talked to me, but focused in on the flying object as soon as she left again. I watched this small spherical object fly just over the power lines, slowly, but consistently. I noticed a slight aura or field of sorts around the craft with my own eyes, and the object seemed to be rotating. When I was watching it I felt a great sense of calm, despite the unknown nature of its appearance. I followed this object with my cell phone just until that Sonic girl handed me my food. After I left the drive thru window I tried finding the object again to record its path some more, and then I noticed it had greatly descended in altitude. When it dropped below where the power lines were, the color of it became camouflaged against the valley’s mountain line and I could no longer follow it.

Witness said: In Perry Hall, I was working on laptop from my car. I saw this object out of the corner of my eye. There was a big lightning storm moving in from west when it appeared in clear skies of the east. I thought maybe it was a remote-control airplane, but it would have been very large at the apparent distance it was at, and it climbed straight up at the end. I wasn’t sure if an RC airplane could do that. I videotaped it on my cellphone, but didn’t realize it was still in view when I stopped recording. Later when showing the footage to a military friend of mine, I noticed it reappeared at the end going straight up behind a tree – hadn’t noticed at the time. Military friend said it didn’t look like a drone. Just curious what it was – it was interesting to watch.

On a chilly Saturday night in November 1974, three teenage boys lit up a Carbondale, PA silt pond and sparked a UFO legend that still glows 40 years later. The boys, including Robert Gillette Jr., reported to police on Nov. 9 they saw “a red, whirring ball fly over Salem Mountain and into the mine pond.” What would become known as the “Carbondale UFO” drew police officers, military, UFO enthusiasts and curious spectators from across the country. The glow lasted nine hours. After two days, a diver emerged from the murky waters with nothing but an old railroad lantern in hand. Twenty-five years later, Gillette admitted throwing the battery-powered lantern into the pond to scare his sister, but the legend lives on. The city plans to mark the upcoming 40th anniversary of the “close encounter” during the Pioneer Nights – Ethnic Heritage Festival with the Carbon D. Alien Regatta on Saturday. Alex Kelly, co-owner of Icon Technologies, grew up down the road from the silt pond. He doesn’t remember any UFOs or little green men but he does recall the “chaos the next day.” “There were cars everywhere, we couldn’t get out of our driveway,” he said. A Scranton Times reporter described seeing licenses plates from 17 states and Canada at the pond. A story published on Nov. 12, 1974, reports that crowds showed up from New York and Connecticut. Every regional newspaper, radio and television station was live from the scene including a three-man news crew from Philadelphia. UFO specialists from New York, New Jersey and Northwestern University in Illinois investigated. A lengthy report by Matthew J. Graeber from the UFO Research Investigation Center in Philadelphia is still on file today at the Carbondale Historical Society. Police manning the overwhelmed phone lines reported calls from as far away as England. People of all backgrounds and occupations surrounded the pond behind Russell Park, making the light in the water the lesser of then-police chief Francis Dottle’s worries. He was more concerned about the masses on the shore. Kelly said believers and non-believers of the legend are separated into a few groups. Some believe the glow was caused by a lantern thrown into the pond. Others insist a craft from outer space landed in the small pond and the government covered it up. One popular theory is that the illumination came from a fallen spy satellite, maybe from Russia, maybe from the United States, he said. Jim Racht, also a co-owner of Icon Technologies, said, “People either roll their eyes or say, ‘Yeah, they took something out of there.’” Involved with the Carbondale Historical Society and the Route 6 Task Force, Kelly and Racht began researching the event after an interview for WVIA’s “My Town” documentary about the city. Kelly said when Michele Bannon, city clerk, suggested including the UFO landing in the town’s history, the two men raised their hands and got to work. One question they asked themselves was if there was a UFO, who drove the craft? Shortly after the documentary premiered in 2012 the two men started the website, carbondalien.com. The site features old and new photos of Carbondale doctored to include the life-sized green extraterrestrial plastic figure, which they took to the WVIA documentary premiere. A comprehensive history of the lore is also on the site. In Racht’s 2010 book about the history of Carbondale, he dubs the incident the “Birth of a Suburban Legend.” Sitting in their office next to a nearly five-foot-tall green extraterrestrial-looking figure wearing a white T-shirt, Kelly and Racht said one thing that most Carbondale residents agree that a flat bed truck hauled something covered by a blue tarp away from the scene all those years ago. Nick Redfern joins Dr. Rita Louise on Just Energy Radio where he reveals information regarding mysterious murders that have occurred to individuals who investigate the UFO phenomena as well as individuals who have been witnesses to the actual events.
An aircraft enthusiast observed three UFOs over Wales, near the English county of Shropshire, on the night of Wednesday, August 13.
The witness, Mervyn Davies, is a model aircraft enthusiast and the founder of the Oswestry and District Flying Club. He noticed the first UFO at approximately 9:45 p.m. from his bedroom window. The bright white light led Davies to believe he was watching a helicopter. But after observing the UFO through binoculars, he could see the object was “liked a banana shape, with both its points facing down, like in an arch.” In addition to the bright white light, Davies says he also observed red and green lights coming from the UFO.
He describes to the Shropshire Star that this UFO “climbed very slowly into space and then just stopped there.” Based on the object’s appearance and behavior, Davies is convinced that this UFO was not a helicopter or a plane.

After the first object “rose into space,” the witness describes two other bright objects emerging from or near the initial UFO. These two additional bright white lights reportedly shot across the sky at incredible speeds. Davies estimates the objects were traveling five times faster than a jet normally flies.
Davies observed the UFOs for approximately thirty minutes before he took his dog inside the house. When Davies returned, the lights were no longer visible.
The witness is perplexed by what he observed. He explains to the Shropshire Star, “I know what aircraft can do because I do the model flying club and I go to all the air shows such as at Welshpool and Cosford and these were definitely not normal aircraft.”
Did King Kong inspire the myth of the Loch Ness monster?
They are the 20th Century’s most monstrous icons and have sparked fear and fascination from the Highlands to Hollywood.
But now it has been claimed that King Kong gave birth to the myth of the Loch Ness monster.
New research from America’s Columbia University suggests the sightings in northern Scotland were triggered by the release of the 1933 classic, which, along with the giant rampaging gorilla, also featured a long-necked, hump-backed lake creature.
Author Daniel Loxton says the first reported sighting of a ‘plesiosaur-like dinosaur’ in the Loch was made by Londoner George Spicer in August 1933 – when King Kong was playing to packed cinemas in the UK.
Mr Loxton said: “Previous witnesses had reported splashes or humps in the water, but Spicer reported a close-up view of a long-necked creature that could have been lifted right off King Kong’s Skull Island.
“Indeed, I believe that is what happened.
His yarn gave rise to many other sightings, making the “plesiosaur” a favourite explanation for Nessie throughout the 20th Century.”
The following year, a photograph of the Loch Ness monster caused a global sensation.
The shadowy picture became the definitive image of Nessie until the 1990s, when it was proved it had been created by attaching a cut-out dinosaur head to a toy submarine.
Marine biologist Adrian Shine, who has studied the Loch for more than 40 years, backed Mr Loxton’s theory.
He said: “I believe that King Kong was the main influence behind the Jurassic Park hypothesis at Loch Ness. Before Spicer’s sighting there were no long-neck reports at all.” – NZ Herald
The open-air holding pen dubbed “a human zoo” outside the courthouse is just part and parcel of living in the King Country town of Te Kuiti on New Zealand’s North Island. But the sight of it has shocked justice advocates around the country who have described the outside holding area as “barbaric” and “positively Victorian”.
Retired defence lawyer Peter Williams QC called the practice ‘humiliating’ and ‘absolutely barbaric’. “How the justice department can justify a holding pen is just unbelievable, it’s beyond imagination … just absolutely wrong,” the lawyer of 60 years experience said. “Whoever is responsible for it should be dealt some type of discipline and the thing should be dismantled and the proper remand rooms or accommodation put up to civilised standards.”
Wellington human rights lawyer and member of the NZ Council for Civil Liberties Michael Bott said the cage ‘almost has an element of theatre about it’. “In many ways the cage on a street sounds like it’s barely a step removed from the stocks a couple of hundred years ago which were used to shame people … it’s positively Victorian.” Bott said not all the people in the cage were convicted of a crime either which would appear to breach people’s privacy. He said it was a clear breach of S23(5) of the Bill of Rights Act which states ‘everyone deprived of liberty shall be treated with humanity and with respect for the inherent dignity of the person’.
“Not everyone who is bailed is convicted … it just seems bizarre.” Roger Brooking, who has 15 years experience working in the justice arena, was gobsmacked. “It’s totally weird. I have never seen anything like that before. I had no idea there was a human zoo for offenders in Te Kuiti. I think it’s disgusting, quite frankly. This is something you would see in a third world country, or something out of the middle ages.” Tony Fisher, general manager of district courts, said the Ministry of Justice had received no negative feedback about the “secure entranceway”. – Stuff
Johnstown, PA – This is probably useless information but when I was a kid in the 70′s and told people what I saw, They said I was dreaming.
There were beings who came into my bedroom and stood on the porch roof outside my bedroom at night. I would cry, please stop! They were about 3 feet tall and my lived near a farm. My Dad told me they were stray cats because of the triangular face. They weren’t cats!
I wasn’t allowed to watch TV for a long time because my parents thought the television shows were giving me the “bad dreams”!
The closest neighbor was 200 yards away and asked me why my night light was so bright. I only had a little Christmas tree light. She said it was so bright, she was concerned that the house might be on fire but she could tell it wasn’t fire. Just a bright light.
I was born in 1970 and we moved out of that house in 1979 and I never saw them again but I know what I remember. I’ve been trying to tell myself it was dreams for 35 years. I know it wasn’t dreams.

In it, researchers say nearly 15,000 celestial oddities have been spotted since the group began collecting data in 1989.
“Coincidentally, this almost exactly matches the total number of UFO reports collected and analysed by the United States Air Force Project Blue Book during its official run of less than 20 years from 1952 to 1970,” said the group in a blog post.
Research co-ordinator Chris Rutkowski says the group’s work doesn’t provide absolute proof about the existence of extraterrestrials, but raises questions.
“This is simply a phenomenon that’s real, that people continue to report,” Rutkowski said in an interview with The Canadian Press Press after the study was released Friday. “And I believe that science should take a better look at what’s going on because the (data) suggests the phenomenon isn’t going away.”
The study shows a growing number of unexplained sightings over the years.
The “hot spot” cities with the most sightings were Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Calgary.
The majority of sightings were spotted between 10 p.m. and midnight, and usually in July and August.
About three per cent, or 467 cases, were close encounters, including alleged alien sightings and abductions. – The Weather Network

Astronomer Jerry Ehman viewed the signal on a computer printout and wrote the word “Wow!” on the sheet, giving the signal the moniker it has today. The signal came from the Sagittarius constellation near the center of the galaxy.

Ehman recalled in an interview with Cleveland’s The Plain Dealer: “It was the most significant thing we had seen.”
The signal, which appeared as the six characters 6EQUJ5, did not have any apparent meaning. It was received by Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio observatory. It caused much excitement, but a similar transmission has not been discovered since, leading many to lose hope that it was an attempt by extraterrestrials to make contact. But it remains a mystery 37 years later, leaving the tantalizing uncertainty—a thread to draw the imagination up into space and onto other worlds inhabited by intelligent life.
The Big Ear was used, starting in 1965, to survey celestial radio sources. Objects in the cosmos, such as pulsars, quasars, and certain nebulas, emit large amounts of radio waves. In the 1970s, it’s focus shifted and it became the first device to constantly survey radio waves from space in search of extraterrestrial communication. Though radio waves are emitted by many objects in space, the Wow! signal was very unusual—in exactly the ways we’d expect a message from aliens to be unusual.
It was resonating at 1420 MHz, on the hydrogen line. “Hydrogen line” refers to a frequency that is said to be the most likely for communication from intelligent extraterrestrial life. In 1959 Philip Morrison at Cornell University and Frank Drake at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory independently recognized this likelihood, explains the SETI website.
“They reasoned that more advanced civilizations would reason that young civilizations (like ours) might already be listening there,” according to SETI.
The hydrogen line is named as such because it is the frequency of the waves emitted by neutral hydrogen atoms. The International Telecommunications Union protects this frequency to avoid “noise” on it from earthly sources. Astronomers have used it in their studies for such purposes as making maps based on emissions from hydrogen atoms in space.
The Wow! signal’s strength and shifts in intensity along the hydrogen line make it a likely candidate for extraterrestrial communication.
Brian Dunning said on Skeptoid: “If we ever do receive a deliberate alien transmission, Wow! was exactly what we’d hope and expect to find.”

Grief engulfed the family of the Chimwenje and surrounding residents in central Malawi district of Dedza after their 11-year-old boy who went missing some four weeks ago was found dead but without his private parts, tongue and eyes.
The 11-year-old boy went missing on 19th July and according to his father, Sam, he was suspected to have been abducted by some unknown people.
The father said his child was discovered dead on August 16, almost a month, in Dedza Mountain by some woman who had gone there to fetch firewood.
“The body was found in a complete decomposed state but without private parts, eyes and tongue,” explained the father.
Chimwenje said it is believed his son’s abductors drove the boy to the mountain and parked the vehicle at the towers before taking him to a place where they gouged his eyes and removed his tongue and private parts.
While confirming the sad development, Dedza Police Station Public Relations Officer Edward Kabango said it would be difficult to ascertain whether the boy assailants indeed removed his said organs because of the state in which the body was found.
“When we went there we found that the body was in a complete decomposed state and it is difficult to determine if the body had those organs missing,” said Kabango.
The police spokesperson said due to the decomposed stated of the body they buried it right at the same scene where they found it.
But the father insisted that they checked their child’s body and confirmed that the said parts were missing.
“I think the police must learn to tell the truth, they are very much aware that the body had no eyes, no private parts and no tongue what are they up to? When we were checking we were actually together with them,” explained Chimwenje.
This sad development comes barely days after two other similar incidents which occurred on August 15 and July 31 in Mzimba and Chikhwawa respectively.
In Chikhwawa, a nine-year-old girl was murdered and had her private parts and some of her flesh removed from buttocks and upper leg while in Mzimba unknown person raped a seven-year-old girl before strangling her and damping her in a forest where she was reportedly fetching firewood.
Meanwhile, in Chikhwawa five people have been arrested by police in connection with the incident, according to Chikhwawa Police spokesperson Sunday Ngulube. – Nyasa Times
