Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

Some scientists maintain there is indisputable evidence that mankind existed many millions of years ago, with civilizations as advanced or more advanced than ours is today.
So folks, let’s keep an open mind.
Was Galileo the first to invent the telescope? A carved rock found in Peru, said to be engraved 65 million years ago, has a picture of a human observing the stars through a telescope.
Hang on! Didn’t Galileo invent the telescope in 1609? That’s what I learnt at school. Go figure!
Here’s another one – a large scale highly-advanced nuclear reactor was discovered in Gabon in Africa in 1972. It was established that came into being an incredible 1.8 BILLION years ago.
Hard to believe? Well, what if this is true?
Kinda makes a mockery of our science study books, just maybe they need to be re-written in part.

I always assumed that most fantastical UFO stories occurred only in the past. The ‘Flatwoods UFO incident‘, ‘The Shag Harbour‘, The Rendlesham Forest incident….
But what occurred one cloudy morning in 2006 at Chicago’s international O’Hare airport could potentially be a modern marvel in Ufology. On November 7th, 2006, an employee noticed a large, dark disc hovering above the runway space.
The employee quickly realized that what they were looking at was not normal and should not be floating there in the middle of a busy airspace.
The word spread through the staff’s radios of a mysterious floating object above O’hare International. Pilots, air traffic controllers, employees, and travelers alike bore witness to the hovering UFO.
There were reports of pilots peering out their cockpit windows in the runway and staff going outside for a better look of the object. In the midst of all the commotion and without warning, the disc broke away.
Shooting straight up through the cloud bank that blanketed the airport, piercing straight through the thickness and leaving a large visible hole punched through the clouds. The UFO had zipped up into the sky at an incredible speed according to the witnesses.
A reporter soon got wind of what had transpired at O’hare and inquiries were made to the United Airlines to follow up with the initial report from their employee. United Airlines denied such a thing occurred and claimed to know nothing of the incident.
The reporter from the Chicago Tribune then began making calls to the FAA to see if they had any information.
The Federal Aviation Administration responded just as the airline did and claimed no knowledge of any strange aerial reports during that time. Days passed and rumors began to swirl about a coverup.
The airport officials and the FAA both denied any knowledge of the incident and claimed that there had been no reports even through hundreds of those who were traveling at the time continued to talk.
Then, the newspaper came forward and said that they had filed a Freedom of Information Act request and that they had uncovered the coverup.
What they got back showed that the United Airlines officials knew about the reports that were filed by their employees and had in turned asked the FAA about the supposed UFO sighting.
When confronted with the information, the FAA quickly released a statement saying that what many airport employees and travelers had seen that November day was a strange weather phenomenon. (Xavier Ortega)

Hi all:
Stanton Friedman devoted a chapter about Global warming in his 2010 "Science was Wrong - Startling Truths About Cures, Theories, and Inventions "they" Declared Impossible".
The numbers are in and the verdict is that there has been no global warming for 17 years and 11 months, according to satellite data.
Satellite data prepared by Lord Christopher Monckton shows there has been no warming trend from October of 1996 to August of 2014 — 215 months. To put this in perspective, kids graduating from high school this year have not lived through any global warming in their lifetimes.
According to Monckton — the third Viscount Monckton of Brenchley and a former policy adviser to U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher — the rate of warming has been half of what climate scientists initially predicted in the early 1990s.
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) first predicted in 1990 that global temperatures would rise at a rate of 2.8 degrees Celsius per century. But the temperature rise since the IPCC’s prediction has only been at a rate of 1.4 degrees Celsius per century.
The so-called “pause” in global warming has baffled climate scientists, as many climate models did not predict a prolonged period of little to no warming. While some climate scientists deny the “pause” in global warming even exists, others have looked to places ocean and wind patterns for answers as to why there has been no warming for nearly two decades.
There are now literally dozens of potential explanations for the global warming “pause,” ranging from increasing volcanic activity to Chinese coal-fired power plant emissions.
“The Great Pause is a growing embarrassment to those who had told us with ‘substantial confidence’ that the science was settled and the debate over,” Monckton wrote in his climate analysis. “Nature had other ideas.”
“Though more than two dozen more or less implausible excuses for the Pause are appearing in nervous reviewed journals, the possibility that the Pause is occurring because the computer models are simply wrong about the sensitivity of temperature to manmade greenhouse gases can no longer be dismissed,” Monckton added.
Recent articles have claimed that excess heat has been stored in the Earth’s oceans instead of going up into the atmosphere. A new study in the journal Science claims that global warming “slowdown is mainly caused by heat transported to deeper layers in the Atlantic and the Southern oceans, initiated by a recurrent salinity anomaly in the subpolar North Atlantic.”
Pacific and Atlantic oscillation cycles supposedly force warm water deeper and bring up cooler waters to the surface — the reverse of what ocean patterns were doing in the 1990s when global temperatures were rising.
But meteorologists have been predicting a weak el Niño this fall and winter, which would warm ocean waters and potentially put an end to the “pause” in global warming.
“The Great Pause may well come to an end by this winter,” said Monckton.“An el Niño event is underway and would normally peak during the northern hemisphere winter. There is too little information to say how much temporary warming it will cause, but a new wave of warm water has emerged in recent days, so one should not yet write off this el Niño as a non-event.”
El Niños occur every few years and can cause global temperatures to temporarily spike. Such events caused temperature spikes in 1998, 2007 and 2010, according to Monckton’s data. But these temperature spikes are often succeeded by huge drops in temperatures due to la Niña events.

Pope Francis says he would baptise aliens: 'Who are we to close doors?
Pope Francis has said that he would be willing to baptise aliens if they came to the Vatican, asking “who are we to close doors” to anyone - even Martians.
In a homily yesterday dedicated to the concepts of acceptance and inclusion, Francis recalled a Bible story about the conversion of the first pagans to Christianity, according to reports on Vatican Radio.
He said Catholicism was a church of “open doors”, and that it was up to Christians to accept the Holy Spirit however “unthinkable” and “unimaginable” it appeared.
Describing how, according to the Bible, Peter was criticised by the Christians of Jerusalem for making contact with a community of “unclean” pagans, Francis said that at the time that too was “unthinkable”.
“If, for example, tomorrow an expedition of Martians came to us here and one said ‘I want to be baptised!’, what would happen?”
Clarifying that he really was talking about aliens, the Pope said: “Martians, right? Green, with long noses and big ears, like in children’s drawings.”

Francis said that Christianity had struggled from its earliest stages with the temptation to reject “the living presence of God” in various forms.
But he added: “When the Lord shows us the way, who are we to say, ‘No, Lord, it is not prudent! No, let's do it this way’. Who are we to close doors?”
While Francis appears to have taken the argument to its logical extreme, this is not the first time that the Vatican has raised the prospect of baptising extra-terrestrial beings.
Speaking at the British Science Festival in 2010, one of then-Pope Benedict XVI’s astronomers said he would baptise an alien “if they asked”. While he accepted that the chances of ever getting such an opportunity were slim, Guy Consolmagno said: “Any entity – no matter how many tentacles it has – has a soul.”
After observing an amazing flotilla of assembling UFOs overhead, it appeared, beyond logic, that alien entities climbed down the ladder of my awe to cause paranormal experiences.
Inter dimensional 'bleed-throughs" happened regularly.
My energies, which I cannot yet 'ground', are light-beacons for negative-thought-entities of many ilks, tipping my scales more towards, "Who needs this paranormal inglorious chafing?" than ,"Wow, I sense the unseen!".
I now perceive E.T. and spirit hypersensitivity, as a form of a spiritual inter-dimensional allergy reaction.
Hypersensitivity, to spirits or aliens is like having an allergy to those beings, painfully aware, troubled, and inflamed, while others, are dully unaware.
I felt electric vibrations in bed and saw my body float out of my body, in astral abductions of my spiritual essence, which retained all of my predilections and discriminations, leaving my chop-meat-DNA- contrived- body, bereft of spirit, behind, in bed.
At first glance, I believed that I had died!
Out of body, I had conveyor belt travels sublime and terrifying, experiences directly tied to my previously monitored thoughts.
This is one recollection that illustrates how alien-proprietary- monitored-consciousness, is suffered by abductees:
I awakened slowly, and found myself underwater, in an experience more real in sensory totality, than just a vivid dream, yet another alien fingerprint silhouette, an imposed nighttime OBE, Out-of-Body-Experience.
Alien entities who after physical abductions, specialize in astral abductions, are predatory of our spiritual essences, essences that we as a race of beings, are barely aware of.
One's car is stopped on a lonely road and one ascends into an overhead waiting craft as one watches one's body in the car below recede from view.
But abductees rarely assess such contradictions, in their daily functioning concepts, of 'self'.
The spirit-entity 'self' that aliens abduct, tease away from our body to prey upon, retains personality and memory, and any injury to that energy causes mirror somatic injuries, later when body and spirit are reunited by alien contrivance.
As self-defense, by asserting and flexing one's spiritual prowess, one can use the same spiritual energy against them, that they seek to tamper with.
'Fighting fire-with-fire', mastering some metaphysics, can work to temporarily deter abductions, in the same way it can repel demons and negative-thought-entities of all ilks.
I have long corroborated with mystics,( Robert Bruce, "Astral Dynamics") who agree with my personal observation that white light surely feeds a meal of an energy lunch to dark force entities, and that's why they become quiescent, and that even prayer, as well as using white light, can make one an energy luncheon.
The more powerful a white light egg 'barrier', the more it attracts stronger negative-thought-entities, attracted to crave surmounting and overcoming such 'presented' challenges.
A barrier of visualized electric purple light, instead, has a frequency very disruptive to dark force entities/energies, but is a difficult color vibrational visualization to mentally sustain.
Electric blue, much easier to visualize, also has protective qualities of electric violet visualized around one.
Although most people are taught to use "white light", they are unaware of the inherent dangers and of these field tested psychic 'tools', which I herein, respectfully submit.
However, when I am asleep, I wander amongst beasties and monsters, and to date suffer poignant and vivid out-of-body-experiences, my defenses seemingly down.
In this experience, under twenty feet of water,
I was semi-conscious but aware; I could doze, float and breathe normally, all while immersed, under a shoal, deep under a narrow inlet.
As I floated, I slowly became dimly aware that visually, ten or fifteen gray ghosts,
torpedo shapes, which had hovered nearby, now swam closer, nearer than twenty feet away.
Porpoises, a school of thirty gray forms, hovered in the inlet's shoal, nearby!
I struggled to come to my still dull senses, and watched as large torpedo shapes swam closer and as they approached they radiated discernible and palpable curiosity.
A large school of inquisitive silver-gray porpoises came very close, now, some within five feet, for a better look at me, still half awake and floating .
The very instant that my mind asserted a greater awareness, in an attempt to seize upon my predicament, at that very moment, they started en-masse, startled away, as though privy to and threatened by my thoughts.
With quick tail movements, they all vanished into the water's distant murky gloom.
Slammed with a jolt, back into my body, awakened in bed, I suddenly recalled a thought-sentence that I had very often repeated in my writings: "In the spiritual ocean tidal currents between two and six o'clock, I have stumbled across only negative thought entities, nighttime bedroom intruders; I have sadly met predominately sharks, and not ever, enlightened porpoises.."
This experience underlined aliens' astral abductions, and their meddling psychic
omnipresence, a first class disorder of consciousness predation, a signature symptom of alien abductees..
This nighttime vivid OBE, Out-Of-Body-Experience, pointed to a proprietary alien creature with a too literal sense of my sentence's meaning, or perhaps, instead,one with a rarefied sense of humor.

"Curiosity va maintenant commencer un nouveau chapitre" se réjouit Jim Green de la Nasa. Il aura fallu au rover près de deux ans pour franchir les neuf kilomètres qui le séparaient de ce relief impressionnant.
Dernière étape avant la relève
Curiosity est actuellement positionné au pied du mont Sharp, à sa base sud, sur une zone appelée affleurement de Pahrump Hills. C'est par cette voie que le rover commencera sont étude de la montagne. La trajectoire diffère quelque peu de celle initialement prévue mais les contrôleurs de la mission ont dû prendre un raccourci pour ménager le rover et ses roues sur lesquelles des signes d'usure prématurée sont apparus.

Le mont Sharp constitue la destination finale de Curiosity qui va "mener des recherches scientifiques sur chaque strate de la montagne avec des forages pour prélever des échantillons», relate Jennifer Tropser, une des directrices du projet.
CURIOSITY 2. De nombreux résultats seront donc encore attendus des investigations de Curiosity. C'est un autre rover, construit sur le même châssis à six roues que son prédécesseur qui poursuivra l'aventure et tentera de trouver des traces d'une vie antérieure sur Mars. Baptisé pour le moment Mars 2020 Rover, il devrait être lancé en 2020 et atteindre son objectif en 2021.

Le rover embarquera des instruments optiques très précis, dont un microscope, qui associé à d'autres technologies lui permettra de choisir très précisément des échantillons particulièrement intéressants, de les analyser et de les stocker dans une petite capsule. Elle pourra être récupérée et ramenée su Terre lors d'une mission suivante, dont les modalités ne sont pas encore définies.
UFO historians and researchers have always pointed out time periods or years in which encounters seem to increase in overwhelming numbers, they have labeled these time periods as ‘Waves’. The summer of 1947 is considered the first modern UFO wave in history (mostly in the United States). Other notable waves were in 1952 (basically the whole year and again concentrated in the USA). There were minor waves after that with concentrations worldwide, then came the summer of 1965 in which a worldwide wave was recorded, starting in South America, this incredible wave continued throughout 1966 and well into 1967, the next notable wave, acknowledge by those UFO historians and researchers is of course the fall 1973 (starting in the USA, mainly the southern states). One year which has been mostly ignored as a wave year or a period of intense activity was of course 1968, which included Argentina, Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand, and of course my main focus of attention in this article Canada (specifically the Province of Quebec). Encounters with strange entities were numerous and steady and mostly ignored by non-Canadian researchers. Following is a summary of known entity or humanoid encounters in Canada for the year 1968.
Our next case is brief in details and is from Ontario, the activity begins to pick up.

Time: 2200 Several witnesses see a bright object land on some nearby brush. Later several shadowy beings enter nearby homes and take several items. No other information.

Next the activity in Quebec starts in earnest, the next two cases occurred on the same date in Quebec.
13. Location: St. Alexis de Montcalm Quebec Canada Date: July 2 1968
Time: 2114 A woman saw a green object shaped like a hat or mushroom, which passed at the height of the window. She believed she saw in it up to 20 small men, all of green color, with rather pointed noses, resembling sculptures in the African Pavilion at the Montreal Expo.

14. Location: St. Thomas Quebec Canada Date: July 2 1968
Time: 2130 Constable M. Michaud and another police officer were reported to have seen two naked little men run through a drainage ditch and flee. Reports had the “little men” disappearing as they were about to be apprehended. Some reports had them as only two feet high, with shoulders the size of adults and disproportionately large heads. The appearance of a large meteor at the time merely complicated matters.

The next two cases were also from Quebec and on the same date, both unfortunately with very brief details, but interesting nonetheless:

Time: evening Six young girls, ages 7 to 13, reportedly saw a figure they described as “The Virgin Mary.” The apparition appeared before them hovering in the air; four of the girls merely saw the figure, whereas two, heard a voice they described as “soft and slow.” It advised them to pray and promised to return in October 7.

The above case appears to have been what is called a “Marian” apparition or The Holy Virgin Mary, which seems to indicate that different type of phenomena due seem to occur at the same time in the same area.
16. Location: St. Basile Quebec Canada Date: July 22 1968
Time: evening A boy reported seeing a man like figure that was apparently airborne and “seemed to be walking in the sky, without any visible means of propulsion.” No other information.

Quebec seemed to be the focus of events in the late summer with the following three cases occurring in Quebec within days of each other:
17. Location: Riviere Du Loup Quebec Canada Date: July 26 1968
Time: 1500 Two young boys riding their bicycles near the airport stopped by the hangar and sighted a short three-foot tall gray skinned humanoid. The humanoid ran away joined by a second similar being, both moved in stiff movements. No other information.

Was the above case an early encounter with the “Grays”?
18. Location: St. Stanislas De Kostka Quebec Canada Date: July 28 1968
Time: 2100 Five young people, including Paul Sauve, 20, and his sisters, Nicole, and Joanne, and Regent Leger and his brother Dennis, saw two circular objects with brilliant red halos, one of which was seen to land about 1000 ft away. They went out with a flashlight to investigate and encountered a being, 50 ft away that terrified them so that they ran back to the house. It was about 4 ft tall, had a big head ‘imbedded in the shoulders” without a neck, and large round eyes, a flat nose, and having a black or brown skin that was “wrinkled, scabby, with bumps.” When caught in the flashlight beam, it lifted a hand, which was very large, black, and rough, “like the skin of a toad,” and opened and closed its mouth. Then it backed off toward the barn. After they were back in the house, it came up to a window and knocked on the pane, making a “mooing” sound “like a cow.” Later they saw the object take off vertically. A 15-foot circle of crushed grain was found at the landing site.

19. Location: Upton Quebec Canada Date: July 28 1968
Time: near midnight A man, his wife, and two children were awakened by the barking of their dog. When he arose to investigate, he saw a sparkling, rotating “cloud” in the yard. It flew just over him and went to a nearby field. About 12ft in diameter, it was dark on the bottom, but luminous on top. The cows in the field were being chased by 4 or 5 small entities, perhaps 3 ft tall with heads shaped like bottles. As the UFO flew above them, they disappeared. The cattle seemed ill for weeks afterwards.

We next jump forward to August, to Ontario to be exact with a strange poorly documented contact yarn:
20. Location: Near Toronto Ontario Canada Date: August 1968
Time: unknown A man was walking near the downtown area when a car pulled up to him and two men inside asked him to come in for a ride. He was taken to the countryside to a landed disc shaped object. Five men wearing dark brown uniforms invited the witness inside. He was told that the captain of their ship was a female, which the witness did not see. He was also given information on the craft’s propulsion system.

We visit British Columbia next with another bizarre contact/encounter claim, much better documented than the one from Ontario:
21 Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Date: August 1968
Time: late afternoon The main witness (involved in other encounters) and some friends where playing with bb-guns on the grounds of the Shaugnessy Golf course when they saw a small metallic “flying saucer” on the ground. The main witness went up to it, to show off to his friends and actually played “bongos” on it. The object was as big as a VW beetle (but round). He then walked to one side to get a better view of the silver object and saw a small “non-human man” next to it. The figure was very pale, almost blue in color and was wearing a white suit with a blue sash around his waist and looked like “the man from the Glad television commercials”. The witness said, “My name is Kim” and put his right hand on his heart. The creature responded by holding his palms upward and made a sound, but he didn’t seem to “have a tongue”. At one point he put out his right arm and nodded for the witness to do the same thing with his left, and he was allowed to compare his hand with the alien’s and except for the pallor they were very similar. At this point he heard a voice in his head that spoke the words, “Would you like to pray”? And he bowed and put his arms pointing down with palms towards the witness. He was a bit embarrassed and to get a laugh from his friends who were literally “stunned” he made a gesture towards this BB gun in his right pocket. The alien seemed to sense this and the witness had to apologize for this and explained that it was only a bb-gun and was not real, the alien seemed to understand. The witness said a few more things and then waved at the alien and the alien waved back. The witness then rejoined his friends and they left the area.

Many of the reports were investigated by local well-balanced and intelligent men such as Marc LeDuc, Donald Cyr, Henri Bordeleau, Jean Ferguson, etc. You be the judge. I contend that the above cases were part of the much larger and mostly ignored UFO/humanoid wave of 1968.
AMAZING PHOTO OF THREE UFO CRAFT OVER CANADA AUGUST 10, 2014 …. OSHAWA ONTARIO CANADA
On Sunday August 10, 2014, while at home in Oshawa, Ontario, I was outside on my driveway washing my car when suddenly I hear this humming sound and look to the north below HWY 2. About a quarter mile north of my position and some thousands of feet up I see three bright red ruby lights maintaining in a triangle formation. Being in a state of awe watching them moving across from the east to west, maybe 30 seconds passed. I then ran into the house for my camera; being once again outside in about 20 seconds. Started to film this spectacle and watch the direction of these three lights at 9:20 pm. I watched them pass over Whitby heading towards Ajax. The lights appeared to turn to the southwest heading to southern Ajax. I snapped one last picture at the greatest distance away. The last picture reveals a structure between the three lights. After a couple of days I noticed on the net of reports in Oshawa/Whitby /Ajax/Toronto /Burlington, Ontario. It would appear many folks had witnessed this marvel along this flight path this triangle of lights had taken probably due to the time not being too late. What is also interesting is that it started in Oshawa. No further reports came out ‘east of Oshawa.’ Very bizarre and shocking sighting to witness. I assume by the size that would be one to two hundred yards apart in spread of the lights. It is also interesting to note this occurred during a full moon cycle. McNeal, AZ – unedited: On 9/9/2014 At 9:08pm My mom and i were in our barn feeding the horses for the night. i was out back closing gates when i heard a rumbling. like what you hear when a jet is flying over. Iv heard that a hundred times. there was a full moon rising in the east about 3 or 4 fingers above the horizon and a very clear night. i looked up to the west to where i heard the plane and saw red lights moving SE. but it was strange. it had 5 lights in a boomerang pattern. one on the nose and two more on each side. if it was a plane it was the biggest plane iv ever seen. it was really high up too. but iv seen airliners around that same height and it was 5 times bigger than those. There were two jet fighters tailing slightly behind the tips of its wings. i knew they were separate aircraft because they moved independently from the red lights which stayed together and they were not red but more like white/ yellow in color. as the object and jets passed over i could see the jets had blinking aircraft lights. like you see on all aircraft. i kept watching for a few more minutes until the lights faded(by the glare of the moon) to the SE. i went back to the barn and told my mother what i had seen. A few minutes after that at 920PM i saw 2 jet fighters returning from the same direction going NW. They were no longer escorting anything and had their afterburners on. they were going much faster than when i had previously seen them. – MUFON CMS
NASA research gives guideline for future alien life search
Researchers at NASA’s Virtual Planetary Laboratory have been successful in accurately simulating the atmospheric chemistry of extrasolar planets in an effort to better understand the chemical compositions that would indicate the presence of life.
Now thanks to these findings they have been able to reveal the best way to determine whether or not the presence of a gas such as methane means that a planet could have life on it.
“When we ran these calculations, we found that in some cases, there was a significant amount of ozone that built up in the atmosphere, despite there not being any oxygen flowing into the atmosphere,” said NASA’s Shawn Domagal-Goldman.
“This has important implications for our future plans to look for life beyond Earth.”
The researchers concluded that it isn’t enough to rely on the detection of just one key gas in the atmosphere of an extrasolar planet as there are too many non-biological processes that could give rise to them. Instead, they argue, to identify a planet as a potential habitat for life there need to be indications of at least two of these gases present in its atmosphere.
“Our research strengthens the argument that methane and oxygen together, or methane and ozone together, are still strong signatures of life,” said Domagal-Goldman. Read more at Phys.org
On Diversey and Hermitage Avenue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood is an industrial building that was converted to condominiums in the 1990s. Though this building is nondescript today, it was the site of a grisly murder at the end of the 19th century.
Adolph Luetgert was a tanner and butcher who moved from Germany in the early 1870s. Shortly after his first wife died, Luetgert married Louise Bicknese in 1878, a woman who was ten years his junior. On their wedding day, he gave Louise a gold ring inscribed with her new initials, L.L.
Luetgert opened a small sausage company in 1879 that became successful. In 1897, he opened the A.L. Sausage & Packing Company in a five-story plant on the southwest corner of Diversey and Hermitage. Next door to the sausage works, Luetgert built a three-story family home for Louise and their two sons, Elmer and Louis.
Unfortunately, Adolph and Louise’s marriage was not a happy one, and the world was about to find out what kind of monster lay inside Adolph Luetgert.
Adolph and Louise went on a walk on the evening of May 1, 1897 — this was the last time anyone saw Louise alive. On May 7th, Adolph reported his wife missing, but her family suspected foul play. Police questioned relatives and friends and searched the city for Louise Luetgert or her remains.
During a search of Luetgert’s factory on May 15th, a watchman suggested they look in a steam vat in the cellar that was used to dip sausages. The police looked inside, and found that the vat was filled halfway with a putrid-smelling, reddish-brown liquid. When the police pulled a plug near the bottom of the vat, on the outside, the slimy liquid and small pieces of bone fell out. Inside the cauldron, police found a gold ring with L.L. engraved on the inside. Near the vat, investigators discovered a strand of hair, pieces of clothing, and half of a false tooth.
After police questioned some employees, investigators learned Luetgert had workers dump the ashes from the smokehouse. When they examined the areas the factory workers indicated, investigators found more bone and pieces of burned corset steel.
Luetgert was arrested shortly after these discoveries, and was tried for Louise’s murder. The trial became a media sensation that drew reporters from thousands of miles away. Continue reading at Atlas Obscura

UFO and government secrecy researcher John Greenewald has been petitioning to get the National Security Agency (NSA) UFO files that were released in the 90s further declassified. When they were released, after a legal battle, much of the information was redacted. There are large swaths of information that have been blacked out or covered with white out. However, the NSA recently told Greenewald they could not find even one original of the hundreds of pages UFO files.
Greenewald received this information in response to a request for a Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR) of the NSA’s UFO files. MDRs require that the agency re-review previously released redacted files to unredact information that is now declassified. This is a similar process that was used to reveal the name of Area 51 in CIA documents last year.
The MDR was fulfilled for an affidavit related to the lawsuit asking the NSA to release its UFO files in 1980, called the Yeates affidavit. As for the rest, the NSA writes, “With the exception of the enclosed document, we cannot locate unredacted copies or the original documents that were previously reviewed and released to the public.”
In the late 70s, the Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (CAUS), headed by lawyer Peter Gersten, sought to get UFO files from several government agencies released using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The NSA refused to release their files, so CAUS sued.
The NSA had a large amount of UFO files, not necessarily because they were investigating UFOs, but because they monitor communications worldwide as part of their regular duties. These files are called communications intelligence (COMINT). Among this large amount of data, there were hundreds of files referring to UFOs. However, the NSA felt they should remain classified.
In 1980, Eugene F. Yeates, chief of the Office of Policy for the NSA, submitted a 21 page document to the judge overseeing the case, Federal Judge Gerhart A. Gesell, as to why these files should remain classified. This is the Yeates affidavit. However, this document was also classified.
Although Gesell did not have the clearance to read the documents in question, the Yeates affidavit convinced him that the NSA files should stay classified. He wrote, “The public interest in disclosure is far outweighed by the sensitive nature of the materials and the obvious effect on national security their release may well entail.”
When the Yeates affidavit was released, it was heavily redacted. UFO researcher Stanton Friedman shows a page from the document to demonstrate government UFO secrecy, and as he says, this goes over well on television where a simple image can be very effective when making a point.

Eventually, in 1997, due to laws making it more difficult to keep files over 25 years old classified, the NSA released a less redacted Yeates affidavit, and 156 UFO documents. As Friedman puts it, the affidavit was originally about 75% blacked out, the second version was only about 20% blacked out. However, the UFO documents are heavily redacted.
The NSA must have seen Friedman’s talks or television interviews, because instead of mostly blacking out the text, this time they largely whited it out, making it much less visually poignant.

As you can see from the image above, there is very little information available in the COMINT UFO documents. Although a bit more information has been unredacted from the Yeates affidavit, the unredacted COMINT reports are the most important information for UFO researchers.
Greenewald writes, “In essence, the ‘originals’ were destroyed or lost when they blacked out the records many years ago — and now in 2014 — they are missing and can not be further reviewed for declassification and release. The history, whatever it may be, is lost forever.”
