Dit is ons nieuw hondje Kira, een kruising van een waterhond en een Podenko. Ze is sinds 7 februari 2024 bij ons en druk bezig ons hart te veroveren. Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

NOVEMBER 8, 1966 ………….. SHREWSBURY ENGLAND
Without doubt the most unusual, official UFO report I ever came across during my time spent digging through the files of the National Archive at Kew, England, surfaced in 1999. It concerns an incident that dated from 1966 and that originated with the British Royal Air Force’s Provost and Security Services – an arm of the RAF that until 1998 had its headquarters at a British RAF base named Rudloe Manor, and that was, for many years, the central hub for classified, official UFO investigations.
In a painstakingly-detailed report, one Corporal R.A. Rickwood, of the P&SS Special Investigation Section, related to his superiors the facts. In fact, so profoundly weird and intriguing is the file, I have presented it below, without edit or interruption:“On 10th November 1966 a telephone message was received from Flight Lieutenant Williams, RAF Shawbury, reporting that a Mrs. Foulkes of [Address of the witness] Shrewsbury, had complained that his daughter had been frightened by an object in the sky whilst she had been driving along the A5 road near Great Ness at 2355 hours on 8th November 1966.“This object had emitted brilliant lights and radiation beams. On arriving home her daughter had been in a distressed condition and she had discovered marks on the car, which she considered were burn marks.
“On 14th November 1966, Miss Diane Foulkes, aged 22 years, a typist employed in Shrewsbury was seen at her home in the presence of her parents. She stated that she had received a letter dated 11th November 1966 from RAF Shawbury signed by a Flight Lieutenant Penny informing her that no service aircraft had been flying in that area at the time of the incident. “She was now satisfied that the incident was in no way connected with the Royal Air Force or the Armed Forces. She then went on to relate her experiences connected with this enquiry.
There had been two similar incidents. The first occurred two years ago in November 1964, when she had been driving from Shrewsbury to her home along the A5 road.“This was at about 0200 hours as she neared the Montford Bridge over the River Severn. Approximately midway between Shrewsbury and Great Ness a brightly lit circular object appeared in the sky above her car. She had been frightened and had accelerated along the road. The object had kept pace with her remaining at the same height until she arrived home. “She had told her mother and father who also watched the object. She described the object as an especially bright light in the sky which remained stationary due west from their home for about half an hour. It had then rapidly diminished in size and they assumed it had accelerated away from them. No sound was heard from the object. The light was yellow in colour and became red as it diminished.
“The second incident occurred on the 8th November 1966 at 2355 hours and again whilst she was returning from Shrewsbury on the same road. The object had again appeared at Montford Bridge but this time it was much lower in the sky and on the north side of the road. On this occasion she could see rays of light shooting from the object which had again appeared to keep station with her car until she arrived home. At one time during the journey the object travelled near her and the rays seemed to come towards the right hand side of her car.
“She felt a bump against that side as if they had struck it. At this moment she felt as if she had received an electric shock and had felt a severe pain in her neck. The left-hand side headlight of the car also went out. This made her extremely frightened. When she got home she felt very ill and had complained to her parents.
“The object again remained stationary in the sky north of her home and had not been seen by her parents. They had noticed it for a short time before going inside her home. There had been no sign of the object on the following morning. Miss Foulkes’ parents confirmed seeing an object in the sky on both occasions as described by their daughter and agreed with her descriptions of these. “Miss Foulkes further stated that she believed that the objects could be associated with a Mr Griffin who lived in the area and who is reputed to have made contact with these objects and actually entered one and met one of the occupants. He is also alleged to make his contacts with them at Montford Bridge. “The local civil police had no information or reports of sightings of objects in the sky. There is no evidence to associate the incidents complained of with the Royal Air Force and the complainant Miss Foulkes is now satisfied that the incidents are unexplainable and are in no way connected with the Armed Forces.” In essence, that is the file.
It is clear from examining its contents that the witness had reported some stunning experiences: “the rays of shooting light” that enveloped her car; the electric shock-like pain that surged through her neck as the vehicle was bathed in the beam of light; the loss of power from the car’s headlights (something that is reported time and again in UFO encounters); and the potentially-worrying fact that the experience had left the witness “very ill.” Perhaps the most significant factor, however, was the reference of the Provost and Security Services to a man in the near vicinity that had reputedly “made contact with these objects and actually entered one and met the occupants.
” Prior to the 1970s, very little exposure was given to so-called alien abduction incidents; however, many of the factors present in the P&SS report lead me to believe that something very strange indeed had taken place in the Great Ness area of Shrewsbury in 1966, and that that “something” was very possibly connected with abduction-like encounters. Oddly, despite the fact thatthe official file on this case was declassified way back in 1999 – and the document at issue has been examined by a handful of UFO researchers since then – it seems that little or no attempt has been made to resolve the case. Perhaps now, with its contents highlighted here at Mysterious Universe, someone will take a fresh look at the case and attempt to resolve the question of what really happened nearly half a century ago on that long gone night at Montford Bridge.
Sovereignty group Lawful Hawaiian Government constructed a UFO landing pad and the so-called Star Visitor Center on a rocky, lava field of Big Island to welcome ET visitors.
Waiting for space alien visitors is perhaps similar to the hope of reinstating the Hawaiian Kingdom of over 120 years ago. However, the Lawful Hawaiian Government made alien welcome pad last year, hoping that it could help advertise its cause.
According to Big Island coordinator, Garry Hoffeld, the idea of creating UFO landing pad is to announce to the world, as well as to the universe, that Hawaii is a neutral country and interested in making peaceful relationships with anyone in the world and even from outside Earth.
It appears that the group wants to let the people in the world know that the UFO landing strip is more a symbolic build than a literal UFO touchdown. The location was chosen for two major reasons; the natural beauty of the place and the proximity to Uncle Robert’s bar. The owner of the restaurant, Hawaiian noble Robert Keliihoomalu, built the E.T.-beckoning spot. Keliihoomalu believes that native Hawaiians were coming from Pleiades descended to Earth.
If aliens were going to visit Earth and make their presence known, hopefully they will realize that Hawaii would be a nice area to hold the welcoming party.

Verrassend veel mensen geloven dat in een verre uithoek van ons zonnestelsel een enorme planeet te vinden is. Deze Planeet X is door sommigen in verband gebracht met vreemde veranderingen in de baan van Uranus en zelfs met het einde van de wereld.
De gevoelige infrarood-ruimtetelescoop WISE heeft vorig jaar duizenden nieuwe rode en bruine dwergsterren ontdekt in de wijde omgeving van de zon, maar vond nul aanwijzingen voor het bestaan van Planeet X. Die bestaat gewoon niet, zo maakte de Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie NASA bekend. Maar de zoektocht ging door.
In 2022 wordt een nieuwe telescoop in gebruik genomen die ons een definitief antwoord moet gaan geven op de vraag of Planeet X bestaat. De Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, een nieuw instrument dat in Chili wordt gebouwd, kan zoeken naar koelere, grote objecten aan de rand van het zonnestelsel.
Wetenschappers zoals Chad Trujillo van het Gemini-observatorium denken dat er een goede kans is dat een planeet zo groot als de aarde in de donkere ruimte voorbij Pluto kan worden gevonden. “Ik denk dat dit slechts het topje van de ijsberg is,” vertelde hij aan NPR. “Het zal waarschijnlijk een lange tijd duren voordat iemand dingen kan verklaren en de meeste mensen die verklaring accepteren.”
De Large Synoptic Survey Telescope wordt uitgerust met een camera van 3,2 gigapixel. De wetenschappers verwachten ongeveer zes miljoen gigabyte aan data per jaar te produceren. Met de camera willen ze uiterst gedetailleerde beelden maken van het heelal. Die moeten onder andere informatie opleveren over de vorming van sterrenstelsels, exploderende sterren en asteroïden. Daarnaast willen de onderzoekers meer inzicht krijgen in donkere energie en donkere materie.
February 20, 2015- Though they were originally searching for deep sea organisms in January, a group of researchers made a very different discovery. While trawling and taking pictures of the seafloor in tropical Atlantic waters about 5,000-5,500 meters (16,400-18,000 feet) below the surface, the crew discovered their gear was getting caught up on unknown objects.
When the equipment returned to the surface, they were stunned to find that it was actually manganese nodules from a deposit much larger than any previously discovered in that ocean. The joint announcement comes from the University of Hamburg and GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel, Germany.
"We did not expect that at this point," lead scientist Colin Devey said in a press release.
Devey’s team suspects that some of these balls (called nodules) can be over 10 million years old, as the largest nodules discovered in the deposit were roughly the size of a bowling ball, though others were as small as a golf ball. While nodule deposits have been found in the Atlantic before, the size of this particular location is quite special.
"This discovery shows us how little we know of the seabed of the abyssal ocean, and how many exciting discoveries are still waiting for us," added Angelika Brandt from the University of Hamburg. "At this station, very few organisms were found in the nets which captured the manganese nodules. It is quite possible that living creatures find the immediate vicinity of the nodules quite inhospitable. The second haul with the epibenthic sled at this station, which sampled over a continuous manganese crust with a thick layer of sediment on top, was quite different. Here the net collected many organisms which we were able to see with the naked eye, and we are already looking forward to the analysis of this sample.”
Because of their impressive age, the researchers will examine the nodules in hopes of finding clues about the Earth in the past, such as indications of changing ocean conditions or even clues about climate. Though the team might not have expected to produce geological specimens during their 42 days at sea, they intend to embrace the nodules, while still proceeding with their original line of research.
"We will continue our planned program. But the samples obtained here will definitely be examined in detail in our land-based laboratories. We are now excited to see what surprises the Atlantic might still hold for us," Devey concluded.

Er worden wereldwijd steeds meer foto’s gemaakt waarop niet alleen de zon voor komt, maar ook nog een ander hemellichaam.
Zo is men in de Amerikaanse staat South Carolina verbijsterd over de opnames die door een lokale fotograaf zijn genomen.
Afgelopen zondag, 15 februari, was de Amerikaanse fotografe Stephanie Davenport laat in de middag een aantal landschapsfoto’s aan het maken in de Amerikaanse staat South Carolina.
Ze ziet dichtbij de zon een ander hemellichaam en gaat er vanuit dat dit de maan is.
Toen ze later haar foto’s aan het bekijken was, begon ze te twijfelen. Want op de vreemde planeet die ze had weten vast te leggen, waren een soort lichten te zien.
Aangezien ze nog nooit zoiets had gezien, nam ze contact op met het plaatselijke nieuwskanaal en binnen de kortste keren werden de mysterieuze foto’s van Stephanie door duizenden mensen gedeeld.
Dit ging uiteraard gepaard met het nodige gegiechel en allerlei wilde theorieën. Omdat Stephanie een familielid heeft die bij NASA werkt, had ze ook die gevraagd of deze wist wat het zou kunnen zijn.
Daar kwam wel zo’n knullig antwoord op terug dat dit direct de prullenbak in kon. Het familielid hield het op overbelichte pixels en dat de lichten te ordelijk waren om zonnevlekken te kunnen zijn. Niets aan de hand dus.
Ook voor Stephanie is dat verhaal onzin want ze heeft een foto van het object, genomen vanachter een boom, waarbij takken de zogenaamde overbelichte pixels bedekken. Bovendien heeft hij het over zonnevlekken, terwijl dit dus duidelijk de zon niet is.
Het is ook definitief niet de maan want zoals je op de volgende afbeelding kunt zien, is de afnemende maan op die dag, 15 februari jl, nog slechts een klein schijfje aan de hemel.
Feit is dat niemand nog een verklaring heeft kunnen geven voor dit bijzondere hemellichaam.
Omdat het niet de zon of de maan is, komt uiteraard toch de vraag naar boven of we hier misschien niet te maken hebben met de planeet/ruimteschip Nibiru.
Deze komt tenslotte steeds dichterbij en dus is het ook logisch dat deze steeds vaker zichtbaar wordt.
Ook in ons land worden vreemde foto’s gemaakt, zoals de volgende die ons door een lezer werd gestuurd (dank!) en is geplaatst op de website weerplaza.nl
Ook hier zie je duidelijk een vreemd planetair object boven de zon. Het zou een lensflare kunnen zijn, maar dit beeld lijkt een beetje teveel op de talloze vergelijkbare foto’s die wereldwijd worden gemaakt, waarbij tijdens zonsopgang en -ondergang duidelijk een planeet waar te nemen is, net boven de zon.

Hoe kan het dat mensen die nog nooit iets te maken hebben gehad met buitenaardsen nu ineens vragen beginnen te stellen?
Vragen zoals: “Worden wij voorbereid om hen te accepteren als onze vrienden of misschien zelfs als onze redders?”
Voor velen is de situatie met betrekking tot buitenaardsen uitermate verwarrend. Het is sowieso al moeilijk voor te stellen dat er naast deze aarde nog talloze andere planeten zijn waar ook leven op voorkomt. Daarnaast bovenop dan ook nog de door mensen gemaakte UFO’s en zaken zoals de geheime ruimtevloot.
Wanneer je dan ook een UFO waarneemt, is de grote vraag of je hier te maken hebt met een door mensen gemaakt object of met een door buitenaardsen bestuurd voertuig.
Dan kom je weer snel uit bij de waarschuwing zoals die door Wernher von Braun, vlak voor zijn dood werd afgegeven.
Die luidde dat de door mensen gecreëerde ultieme dreiging voor de mensheid uit de ruimte zou komen en dat dit uiteindelijk de wereld zal verenigen in de New World Order.
Wernher von Braun (1912-1977) was de wellicht meest controversiële raketbouwer ooit. Hij maakte de dodelijke V2-raketten voor Hitler en nadien de ruimtevaartraketten voor de NASA, waarmee onder andere de eerste landing van een mens op de maan werd uitgevoerd.
Ongeveer drie jaar voor zijn dood kwam hij in aanraking met Dr. Carol Rosin. Misschien kreeg hij aan het eind van zijn leven iets van wroeging, want haar vertelde hij een groot aantal geheimen. Om de gigantische kosten en de mega verdiensten voor de ruimtewapensystemen enigszins te rechtvaardigen en de agenda voor de New World Order te promoten, zouden er kunstmatige vijanden worden gecreëerd.
Eerst zou dat Rusland zijn. Daarna de terroristen. Vervolgens de landen in het Midden-Oosten. Dan de laatste troefkaart: Een bedreiging uit de ruimte.
Op zich is bovenstaande niets nieuws, maar wel dat mensen die nog nooit iets te maken hebben gehad met buitenaardsen zich daar nu ook opeens van bewust worden.
Hij vraagt zich in een recent artikel af of wij worden geconditioneerd om te accepteren dat het leven hier op aarde origineel afkomstig is van andere planeten en dat Jezus buitenaards was.
Hij vraagt zich dat niet voor niets af want zoals hij zegt, "overal ter wereld zie je nu artikelen verschijnen over dat Britse wetenschappers hebben geopperd dat het leven hier op aarde wel eens afkomstig zou kunnen zijn van andere planeten".
Verder valt het Michael op, een man die iedere dag “in het nieuws zit”, dat we de laatste tijd worden gebombardeerd met allerlei boodschappen in populaire cultuurevenementen. Dat onze planeet in het verleden in contact heeft gestaan met buitenaardsen en dat dit op het punt staat om weer te gebeuren.
Voor Michael Snyder komt dit toch allemaal een beetje als een schok en het is duidelijk wanneer je zijn artikel leest dat hij het allemaal nog niet echt gelooft en liever wil blijven vasthouden aan de dingen die hem verteld zijn in school en kerk.
Het wordt spannend wanneer juist mensen zoals Michael dit soort vragen beginnen te stellen. Hij schrijft onder andere het volgende op zijn website:
Met ieder jaar dat voorbij gaat, zijn er meer mensen die naar de sterren kijken voor antwoorden op de meest belangrijke vragen waarmee we worden geconfronteerd.
Dankzij de niet aflatende stroom boeken, videospellen, films en televisieprogramma’s zijn er nu wereldwijd honderden miljoenen mensen die verwachten dat buitenaardse levensvormen ieder moment contact met ons kunnen maken.
Dus, worden wij voorbereid om te geloven dat buitenaardsen verantwoordelijk zijn voor het ontstaan van leven op deze planeet?
Worden wij voorbereid om hen te accepteren als onze vrienden of misschien zelfs als onze redders?
Zover zijn we nu al. Nuchtere mensen zoals advocaat Michael Snyder die zich normaal gesproken bewegen in de financiële wereld zijn door alle berichtgeving al zodanig geconditioneerd dat ze het helemaal niet vreemd zouden vinden als er morgen wereldwijd bekendgemaakt zou worden dat de buitenaardsen onze redders zijn en ons zullen helpen om de hele wereld te verenigen.
De timing zou niet slecht zijn. De wereld wordt met de dag onstabieler en de ene crisis is nog niet bezworen of de volgende dient zich alweer aan.
Wanneer iets dergelijks gebeurt dan blijft de grote vraag natuurlijk of we te maken hebben met een nepinvasie zoals Carol Rosin beschrijft in onderstaande video of misschien met het ingrijpen van buitenaardsen, zoals wij in een eerder artikel schreven.
The Rendlesham Forest incident has been dubbed as Britain’s Roswell, which involved a series of strange sightings in December 1980. The event continues to fascinate the UFO and conspiracy worlds. Its popularity is not surprising because many witnesses saw clear lights in the sky and not some vague lights that are common today.
Former Ministry of Defence employee Nick Pope believes that the UFO indeed landed.
A security police commander that time, Sgt Adrian Bustinza, said that he saw a UFO going in and out through trees and hovering at one stage.
In an audio recording, United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt can be heard saying that they’re looking at the thing from two to three hundred yards away. He compared the thing to an eye winking, and the flash is dazzling to the starscope that it nearly burns their eyes.
Just last January 2015, a dog walker posted a video showing unidentified lights above Rendlesham Forest and a new film about it has recently been released. But what actually took place and are we any closer to solving the mystery after 35 years?
Through the years, it appears that facts have become blurry as new witnesses come forward, and statements change. But what is clearly known is that US military personnel stationed in the area spotted unusual lights over Rendlesham Forest.
Blue, red, orange and white lights were seen by John Burroughs, one of the US military personnel who investigated the area. In Burroughs’ subsequent statement in 1981, he said that together with his supervisor and another individual, they saw lights moving back and then stopping in a bunch of trees. As they hit the ground, the lights started moving back towards the open field. All three of them got up to a fence and saw the lights disappeared.
Jim Penniston, who was the companion of Burroughs into Rendlesham Forest on 26 December, claimed he spotted a craft with hieroglyphic-like characters about 3 metres tall and approximately 3 metres wide at the base. As he moved closer to the craft, he found out that the fabric of the shell was like a smooth, opaque, black glass.
Both Burroughs and Penniston have since suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
A different set of military personnel encountered the same series of events 2 nights later. Lieutenant Colonel Charles was there to disprove UFO, and alien rumours disperse widely in RAF bases Woodbridge and Bentwaters. Armed with a recording device, Halt produced an audio tape that is now considered as one of the most important pieces of evidence
On the night of December 28, another group of men claimed to have witnessed something strange in Rendlesham Forest. Soldier Larry Warren and Sgt Adrian Bustinza, who were with a number of other military personnel, went towards the field where lights had been spotted on the past two nights.
At the scene, Warren claimed he had seen disaster preparedness officers with Geiger counters and then a small red light appeared going the direction of the coast. Warren described the UFO as fast while moving in a downward arc. Warren also said that the UFO made a stop and hovered approximately 20 feet off the ground. He revealed that it was the same size of American basketball and self-illuminated by slightly red light.
According to Warren, the red light then exploded suddenly, and a craft showed on the forest floor. Warren described it as no windows, no flag or country of origin, and no markings. The shape was clear as a bell, Warren stated.
At this stage, a senior man asked Warren and Bustinza to retreat. Then they claimed to have seen Wing Commander Gordon Williams from a distance approaching the craft and encountering an alien being. Warren described that particular encounter as silent stand-off rather than communication.
Warren returned to the base at around 4:30am, but Bustinza claimed to have observed the craft depart. He said that that the craft took off at around a 45-degree angle, and he may never saw it if he would have blinked. He heard no noise during that strange activity.

With all the UFO, alien and alien abduction talk in yesterday’s lecture sessions, here at the International UFO Congress (IUFOC) 2015, it goes without saying I had some really exotic dreams. In any case I got a really good night’s sleep.
With my speaking session behind me, I decided to take the day to conduct short form and long form video interviews in my suite. Of the six interviews I had scheduled, three came to pass and were rewarding experiences. Two had to be rescheduled to Friday due to last minute conflicts with the guest’s calendars. Regretfully, one guest backed out at the last minute just as we were about to conduct the interview on camera. You might ask why?
Well the honest answer is that I wasn’t willing to give that guest a forum for peddling a long verbose pontification on his pet conspiracy theories. I was interested in his personal abduction story only. He set a condition that I had to be in agreement –that I was in sync with his theories; I wasn’t and we promptly parted ways. My New York Skies column is based on a policy of a middle-of-the-road approach to a complex subject matter. What the guest wanted to discuss, was way out of that comfort zone for me.
My first interview was with David McDonald the Director of MUFON, emeritus and still the Director of MUFON international. David shared a number of insights about being a MUFON member and encouraged folks to become member and perhaps train to become certified MUFON Field Investigators. The cost is minor, under $50 and the training can be done online. He also shared with me one of his most interesting field investigations from his own firsthand experience. I’ll share that account after I return from Phoenix.
The second interview I conducted was with Jennifer Stein, who is a documentary filmmaker and she has just completed a “definitive documentary” on the Travis Walton Abduction Case from 1975. Anyone who remembers the 1993 movie thriller “Fire in the Sky,” will remember that it was about Mr. Walton, a lumberjack who was abducted and was missing for five days. Later Walton was given a polygraph test, which he passed with flying colors. The new documentary focuses on the real story verses the slightly fictionalized major motion picture. The documentary is debuting here at the IUFOC 2015 convention on Friday night.

Flying Saucers, Strange Shadows in the Sky, or even Strange Marks Left On Fields are stereotypical marks of extra terrestrials. Over the years, there has been countless of alleged UFO sightings especially in the internet. UFO or unidentified flying objects have been a subject of controversy and conspiracy. Nobody actually knows how real they are since almost all traces vanishes throughout the course of history. Though many would find them true others are still shrouded with doubt. So how will you know if you really saw the real thing? Here are some rational incidences.
1. An unidentified flying object was captured on camera by a farmer couple in Oregon in May 1950. The farmer's wife named Evelyn Trent was the first one to see the object before it sped off out their view. The wife described the object as a silvery, metallic disk.
2. The US Air Force has been many times mentioned in UFO sightings since most of the sightings happened near their base. The most popular and mysterious of them all was the Edward's Air Force Base Sighting where a test pilot and astronaut managed to film a classic saucer. It was your typical silver and smooth saucer which was about 30 feet in diameter. It had three legs as a landing gear. However, as he was about to submit the picture, the film vanished.
3. The Piney Woods Sighting was an unforgettable experience to a group of friends who saw a water-tower sized, glowing, diamond shaped object which blocked their way. This experience has brought them trauma emotionally, mentally, and physically due to chemical poisoning in the area. The group claimed that they saw helicopters escorting the vessel away from them.
Who knows what these incidences tell us. They could be a government conspiracy hiding some secret warfare perhaps. Nobody actually knows and one can only guess.

February 20, 2015 - An upgraded, more powerful Large Hadron Collider, slated to begin returning to service next month, should open the door to new realms of physics, including possibly a glimpse of so-called “dark matter” particles, which, along with an equally mysterious dark energy force, dominate the universe.
Dark matter is so named because it does not emit or absorb light -- or any other electromagnetic radiation. Its presence is inferred by how its gravity impacts stars, galaxies, dust and other visible matter.
Scientists calculate that ordinary, visible matter accounts for about 5 percent of the universe. The rest is dark matter and a repulsive force called dark energy, which is accelerating the universe’s expansion.
“What we know about dark matter is that it exists, and then very little after that,” physicist Michael Williams, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told Discovery News.
“It would be nice if we could start to understand what dark matter is and how it affects the galaxy and the evolution of the universe, but just opening the door in particle physics to whatever is on the other side ... would be stepping into the unknown, which is exciting,” he said.
Scientists and legal experts have raised concerns that an ambitious experiment using a super-charged ion collider could accidentally destroy planet Earth.
One of the world’s most powerful particle accelerators, which is capable of generating particles hotter than four trillion degrees Celsius, has come under the spotlight after experts have warned that micro black holes and strange matter could be generated.
The Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Realistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) accelerates nuclei to the speed of light, before smashing them together in a bid to create quark-gluon plasma, which is an incredibly hot substance thought to have occurred just after the Big Bang.
While the experiment could help to answer questions about how life started on Earth, critics, including the Astronomer Royal, have warned that subatomic particles called ‘strangelets’ could be created accidentally
These particles have the potential to start a chain reaction and change everything into ‘strange matter,’ which Martin Rees said could transform Earth into ‘an inert hyperdense sphere about one hundred metres across’.

Rosa Lotti was walking into Cennina, when she perceived a big vertical spindle, "like 2 cones joined at their bases." From behind this craft emerged two little men 3 ft tall, who approached her with friendly expressions, the older one laughing. They were speaking a language that sounded like Chinese, 'liu, lai, loi." Approaching Lotti, they snatched from her the carnations and one of her stockings. Lotti ran away. A deep hole in the ground was later found at the site.

THE CENNINA LANDING OF 1954

NOVEMBER I, 1954, is a date that marks the occurrence of one of the most extraordinary UFO landing and contact cases ever recorded (it has already been quoted by Vallee as No. 24 in his Century of Landings).
Cennina is a small town near Biicine, in the Province of Arezzo.
On the morning of that day (a Monday and a feast-day in the Catholic Church) Rosa Lotti nei Dainelli, a forty-year-old peasant woman mother of four children, living at a farm called "La Collina" which is situated in a lonely region between Cennina and Capannolc, had risen early to go down into Cennina to visit the church and the cemetery. She was carrying a bunch of carnations, destined for the altar of the Madonna Pellegrina, whose procession had taken place the preceding evening.
It was 6.30 a.m.
Rosa Lotti rarely went into town, and spent most of her time on her arduous duties on the farm.
On this feast-day morning however she had put on her new dress and started out along the footpath that leads, through fields and thickets, towards the town. She went barefoot, carrying her stockings and her "best" shoes so as not to get them dirty. She would put them on before she came to the first houses.
She reached a point on this path, regularly taken by her, where it passed through a thicket of low bushes. She knew this path perfectly. She had even gone along it many a time at night, without ever having any sort of unpleasant encounter or noting anything unusual.
Arriving in the middle of a small clearing among the shrubs and sparse trees, she suddenly beheld, near a pine tree and on the edge of the little grassy area, a strange and unwonted object that at once aroused in her both curiosity and surprise. It was a sort of huge spindle, fixed vertically in the ground.
The Craft and the "Little Men"
This is how Rosa Lotti subsequently described the strange machine:
"A sort of double cone, over 2 metres high and about a metre wide in the middle." (In La Nazhnc Italiwa, November 2, 1954.)
"Like two bells joined together at their bases." (In La Settimana Incotn, No. 24, Year XV.)
"The object was very swollen out in the middle and pointed at the two ends. It seemed to be covered with leather." (In Il Giornale del Mattlno, November 2, 1954,)
"The outside of it shone as though it was of very polished light metal. On the lower cone there was an open glass door, and inside it could be seen two little seats, little scats like those used by children. In the central part of the spindle, where it was widest, there was a sort of roundish glass, closely following the round shape of the mysterious machine. Rosa Lotti had heard no sound from it." Rosa Lotti had stopped in her tracks, astonished and curious. But her surprise was only just beginning. From behind the "spindle" she beheld two strange beings emerge. "Almost like men, but of the size of children," was her description.
The two little beings approached her with friendly expressions on their faces. She had plenty of time to make a thorough examination of them, so that she was afterwards able to describe them in the minutest details. About 1 metre in height, they were wearing a sort of grey overall, all in one piece, including the feet. On their backs they had short cloaks of a grey material, and over the one-piece overall they wore a sort of doublet, fastened, right up to the collar, with little buttons "like shining stars." Their trousers were tightly-fitting, "like the long underpants that our men wear in the winter."
Their faces, crowned by helmets, were normal, but small. Both were no taller than a five-year-old infant, but their bodies were in proportion. "It would have taken two of those things to make a man," she said, "but they were very fine looking, even though rather old."
Vigorous, lively, they were talking away "as though they were Chinese. They kept saying: 'liu.1 lai,' 'loi,' 'lau.* 'loi,' 'lai,' 'liu,' " 3
They gesticulated, but with no trace of menace. Indeed, on the contrary, in a friendly fashion, as though they were trying to make themselves understood and to strike up a rudimentary conversation.
The older looking of the two was the more jovial, laughing and obviously trying to establish contact with her. They had magnificent eyes, fjll of intelligence. Their noses were of normal shape, their mouths just like a man's, but their upper lips were slightly curled in the centre, so that even when they were not laughing their teeth were still exposed. They were teeth like ours, broad, strong teeth, but short (as though they had been filed down) and somewhat protruding, like the teeth of rabbits.
Their ears were hidden under two leather discs, and there was a band around their foreheads, al?o of leather.
Approaching Rosa Lotti, who was now terrified, they snatched out of her hands the bunch of carnations and one of her black stockings. When she remonstrated timidly, the one who seemed the older of the two handed some of the flowers back to her, but kept five of them. Then, having examined the structure of the flowers with an air of curiosily, and laughing the while, he wrapped them in the stocking and threw them into the "spindle" through the small opening.
Then they stepped back a few paces from her, and look two "packages" from inside the machine—white objects, circular, which they carried in the hollow of the arm, holding the arm bent with the hand on the chest. The thing seemed to be wrapped in a newspaper, but it was not a newspaper. (La Naz'tone Sera, November 2, 1954.)
Then they turned towards the lady again, but she had seized the moment to escape. After running about 100 metres, she looked back. Everything had vanished.

The Carabinieri who went there in an effort to investigate the affair [found] that there was indeed a deep cavity recently made in the ground... The hole was also seen by the Chief Inspector of Carabinieri at Ambra, Signor Zulimo Botarelli, who happened to be out hunting in the vicinity at the time.
The Latest Investigation
Now, eighteen years after the event, we have re-examined the Cennina case and, thanks to the active support that we have received from the Prato UFO Study Group, we have been able to check the details and also gather valuable pieces of supporting testimony.

These are (1) MUF (UFO Section), or, to give them their full title in English, the UFO Section of the Florentine Humanistic Cultural Movement, in whose files the Cennina Case is listed as No. 92, and (2) the Prato UFO Study Group (Centro di Ricerca Per Lo Studio Sui Fenomeni UFO di Prato), whose energetic young members have just conducted a fresh investigation of the case and have unearthed much valuable corroborative material—for example, the story of the two boys who were out attending to their pigs on the morning of November 1, 1954, and are alleged to have actually seen Signora Rosa Lotti being chatted up by her homuncules.
3. Rosa Lotti's comparison is good. These are all very typical sounds in Chinese.

Gulf Breeze, Florida, a town with a population of just slightly over 6000, enjoyed their anonymity. But in the winter of 1987, their sleepy little town became the focus of the world. R
Of the many accounts of UFO sightings, photographs, and videos, the sensational reports that originated in Gulf Breeze, Florida are some of the most controversial. Though many sighted the elusive flying craft and snapped photographs of the glowing lights, the majority of attention was on one Edward Walters, a local building contractor.
When you read here or there that "the Gulf Breeze photographs are faked," or this sort of things, do not believe it on word. If one refers to the material presented by Ed Walters, one must note after of having really taken knowledge of the case and having challenged it, that these data suggest that Gulf Breeze was really visited by interplanetary visitors, not only once, but many times.
CUFOS considers Gulf Breeze a potentially significant UFO case, but one that remains unproven, and it is essential that research into every aspect of both photographs and testimony, continue. Important questions are yet unanswered, and necessary avenues of inquiry yet unpursued. R

On November 11, 1987, Ed Walters, a prosperous builder-contractor in the exclusive Community of Gulf Breeze, Florida, saw a peculiar light shing through a tall pine tree in his front yard. He could see that the glow was unusual -- quite different from any of the commonplace planes and heliopters from the nearby naval air station that frequently populated the skies of Gulf Breeze. He stepped outside and saw a bluish gray craft like none he had ever seen before. It was intensely quiet, and Ed was intenesly frightened. He rushed back into the house and grabbed the old Polaroid camera that was a a part of his work gear as a builder. And he took photos.
The sightings continued and were shared by his wife and family. Ed's photos were published -- anonymously -- in the local weekly newspaper, and the sightings were corroborated by hundreds of residents in the Gulf Breeze area -- residents in the Gulf breeze area -- priests, politicians, judges, policemen, soldeirs, ordinary middle clas citizens.

But it all started with a building contractor called Ed Walters. On the 11th of November 1987 Ed was working in his home office when he noticed a light moving outside, partially obscured by the pine tree in his yard. To get a better look Ed went out of the front door, and could see that the light was in fact a glowing bluish-gray craft like none he had seen before.
Ed rushed back into his office to grab his Polaroid camera which he used on job sights and stepped out onto the porch again. As the craft came from behind the tree he took his first photo. He watched for a moment and then, "Bang! Something hit me. All over my body, I tried to lift my arms, I couldn't move them. They were blue, I was blue, everything was blue. I was in a blue light beam. I was trying to breathe but my chest wouldn't expand. My feet lifted off the floor, a voice groaned in my head, " We will not harm you." I screamed, the voice said "Calm down." I screamed "Put me down!" No control, just a piecing smell, a little scent of ammonia mixed with heavy cinnamon that scorched, the stuck to, the back of my throat. A hum filled my head. Wham! I hit the ground, the blue light was gone. The hum was still in my head but quickly decreased and was gone."
On November the 20th the hum returned, and with it Ed could hear voices, as if he was listening in on a conversation. He went out side and saw a small speck of light falling at great speed. He took photo 6 as the UFO suddenly dropped its fall and hung in the sky. This photo has been light blasted and enhanced in this version.
It is this hum which Ed hears when ever the UFO comes close that has enabled him to photograph it so many times.
On the 2nd of December Ed's house was visited again. At about 3.30 am Ed was awakened by the sound of his dog barking just once. He went to investigate and on opening the blinds on his French doors he was confronted by a four foot tall creature with big black eyes. Ed screamed and fell backwards, the creature looked at him for a moment the walked away. "I gave chase. As my feet left the shelter of the back porch I was hit by the blue beam and held immobile while the creature fled into the vacant field at the back of my house. As soon as I could move I ret rived my camera and took this picture of the UFO shooting the blue beam into the field. I believe that it was picking up the creature I had seen."
Just before sunrise on December 5th, this UFO hovered above the tree line near the high school about a block from Ed's house. "The UFO moved towards me, I heard the voice say 'Do not resist...Zehaas.'"
This is just a small introduction to the story of Ed and the UFO. He would go on to photograph it many times, with his polaroid, a special four lens sealed camera given to him by MUFON, a stereo Polaroid which allowed the UFO to be ranged and a video camera. A controversial new claim suggests that evidence of 'directed panspermia' has been found by scientists.
Astrobiologist Milton Wainwright and his team are no strangers to controversy having previously announced the discovery of what they believe to be evidence of extraterrestrial life in samples retrieved from high up in the stratosphere of our own planet.
Now the researchers are back with a new theory suggesting that a microscopic metal sphere also found in the stratosphere represents evidence that an advanced extraterrestrial race deliberately seeded the Earth with life at some point in the distant past.
Known as directed panspermia, the theory implies that life on our planet was neither an accident nor a natural process but instead a direct result of intervention from another world.
The main basis of the claim, the tiny metal sphere found in the samples, is described as having "filamentous life on the outside and a gooey biological material oozing from its centre."
"One theory is it was sent to Earth by some unknown civilization in order to continue seeding the planet with life," said Wainright. "This seeming piece of science fiction - called 'directed panspermia' - would probably not be taken seriously by any scientist were it not for the fact that it was very seriously suggested by the Nobel Prize winner of DNA fame, Francis Crick."
Even Wainright himself however admits that this evidence alone is never going to be enough.
"Unless, of course, we can find details of the civilization that is supposed to have sent it in this respect, it is probably an unprovable theory," he said.

A new film explores one of the weirdest episodes in British history - a UFO mystery which enthusiasts believe has been the subject of a cover-up for two decades.
In 1983, U.S. Army personnel stationed near Rendlesham in Suffolk saw a strange, metallic triangle which was ‘dripping molten metal’ - and witnessed a light like a ‘huge red eye’.
Unlike most UFO sightings, it was documented in voice recordings from senior American soldiers, who also drew disturbing pictures of the object they saw.
One witness claimed to have telepathically ‘received’ a binary code, which has never been deciphered.
The Ministry of Defence investigated, and concluded that a variety of natural phenomena were responsible.
But some of the soldiers involved - and UFO fans - have never bought this explanation.
Film director Daniel Simpson, who researched The Rendlesham UFO Incident, said he investigated evidence including audio recordings before directing his own fictional take on the incident.
He said, ‘It is my belief that the USAF did actually see something that is from another world or dimension.
‘Former witness Lt Col Charles Halt has gone on record to state this also.’
Simpson told Starburst Magazine, ‘It’s one of, if not the, biggest UFO incident ever recorded along with the Roswell case and it took place over 3 consecutive nights. I think that the fascination in the case is amplified as a result of the witnesses being multiple USAF personnel, with the addition that one of those people was a Lieutenant Colonel who made an audio recording on a dictaphone as the events unfolded.’

Reports by retired soldiers such as Colonel Charles Halt sound seriously spooky: ‘While in Rendlesham Forest, our security team observed a light that looked like a large eye, red in colour, moving through the trees.
‘After a few minutes this object began dripping something that looked like molten metal.’
Others reported losing time periods, mysterious light – and strange howling noises ‘like women screaming’.
Sceptics claim that the marks of the UFO’s landing are, in fact, rabbit holes.
Multiple soldiers made drawings and descriptions of craft which resemble classic ‘flying saucers’.
Nigel Watson, author of the Haynes UFO Investigations Manual says, ‘The Rendlesham case is one of Britain’s most fascinating UFO incidents. The problem with the alleged crashes is that no one has ever provided unambiguous evidence to support them. It is always claimed that all the remains of crashed flying saucers and even their pilots are whisked off by Government retrieval teams.’

In his first detailed interview since he sent out an email to officials relaying what he thought might be the Boeing 777 aircraft, Mike McKay, 57, told MailOnline: "Almost a year has passed, but I stand by what I saw.
"I've thought about it and thought about it, over and over and while I cannot say for certain that the burning object in the sky was definitely MH370, the timing fits in with when the Malaysian plane lost contact. I have been trying to disprove that what I saw was the aeroplane ever since."
And so far he has failed to disprove it. Speaking at his Auckland home where he now sits out his days after losing his job as a result of sending out the email on his company computer on the rig off the south of Vietnam, Mr McKay said that everyone believed he had said with certainty that he saw MH370 crash in flames into the South China Sea.
"Unfortunately my words were misinterpreted. I was careful to say that I 'believed' I saw the aircraft come down. The email was never for public consumption.
"And if it was the plane that has been missing for so long, then the search in the southern Indian Ocean is clearly in the wrong place."

Steve Pete has broken bones more times than he can count and once chewed part of his own tongue off.
The 33-year-old also shattered his arm so badly he initially didn’t even realise he was hurt until he saw the bones poking out.
While his injuries sound horrific, and no doubt are, Mr Pete has no idea he has even injured himself because he can’t feel pain.
The American suffers from congenital analgesia or congenital insensitivity to pain. While this has obvious plus sides, there are a lot more disadvantages than people realize.
“I’ve had so many injuries over the years that it’s hard to recall,” he told news.com.au from his home in Kelso, Washington State.
“I’ve broken so many bones. One time in the playground at school I was on the swing set going back and forth.
“I jumped off the swing, landed incorrectly and my bones shattered in my right arm.
“I didn’t feel it but there was bone sticking out, which was a pretty good indication I’d injured myself.”
Mr Pete, whose brother Chris also suffers with the same condition, said he was a baby when his parents realised something was seriously wrong after he chewed off part of his tongue, and he underwent a series of tests.

As a result, small unpaid tolls can easily balloon into hundreds of dollars, once government penalties and collection fees are tacked on.

VIOLENT BEDROOM VISITATION
Location:Kremenchung, Ukraine - February 23, 1991 - night
After coming back from work at a local bakery, the witness A. S. Tkachuk was trying to fall sleep when suddenly she felt a pair of strong hands gripping her around the throat. Opening her eyes she is terrified to see only at about 30cms from her a strange humanoid with a face similar to humans but completely covered with hair. Around its black eyes the hair was somewhat shorter and humanoid appeared to have two short horns on top of its head. The witness attempted to struggle and grabbed the creature’s hands with her hands. The creature’s fingers were short and the hand’s were more human than animal according to the witness, covered with fur and warm to the touch. The creature’s fur was dark-chestnut in color; it seemed to be short in stature its arms corresponding to that of a 5-6 year old child. The witness attempted to push the creature’s hands away from her throat but the creature was incredibly strong. She somehow “understood” that the creature was male but did not see any genitalia. The witness then realized that she would not be able to escape from creature’s grip and ceased to resist, immediately thereafter the creature let her go and disappeared. The witness remained paralyzed with fear and unable to speak in bed for a long time.

Location: Near Murmansk, Siberia, Russia - Summer 1995 - 8:30 PM
Two men were riding a car on a local road outside of Murmansk, despite being evening it was still light out. The road was about 4 meters wide and was asphalt and surrounded by fields of tall canes on both sides. The road was straight and there was excellent visibility. Suddenly at approximately 15-20 meters in front of the car a strange creature was seen running across the road. The creature looked bird-like and it was visibly huge. The entity had long legs, about 2 meters long, dark feathers along the back and an odd shaped body. Unfortunately the witnesses were unable to see any additional details, but discerned that the strange ‘bird’ was similar to a ‘running reptile’. They stopped the car but realized that it was useless to look for the strange entity amid the dense cane fields. Later one of the witnesses while reading a book on dinosaurs, found a picture that depicted almost exactly what he and his friend had seen. The image was later identified as a dinosaur from the order of Ornithischia Local naturalists stated that no species of ‘animal’ fitting the description lived in the region.

Location: Naryan-Mar, Nenets Autonomous Region, Russia - 1994 - afternoon
Several deer herders watched a large metallic disc-shaped object descend and land among a herd of deer. Immediately from the craft emerged several short humanoid figures, while ignoring the stunned herders, began to conduct on the seemingly paralyzed animals what appeared to be ‘surgical operations’. One of the shepherds approached the group of aliens, intending to drive them away. However the other men watched as the herder apparently came under the same hypnotic control that had affected the herd. Without trying to escape he approached the aliens and ‘voluntarily gave himself to them’. His body was found the next day, completely drained of blood, his genitalia removed along with the prostrate and pancreas; also several pieces of skin were removed in other parts of the body.

Location: Carranza, Maule Region, Chile - February 1994 - morning
Local laborer Florencio Arellano was performing his morning chores and was sitting on his tractor preparing to go into the fields when he suddenly looked to the nearby trees and noticed a strange figure with its arms outstretched and staring at Arellano. The figure was at least 3 meters and a half in height and wore a white tunic. It stood without moving staring at Arellano. The figure’s clothing was very white and the entity seemed to have pale features. The witness sat stunned on his tractor and stared back at the figure for about 3 minutes when it suddenly just vanished in plain sight. He took the encounter as a “sign from God”.

Location: Lake Gwelup near Perth, Western Australia - June 1984 - midnight
The night of the full moon the witness had taken her dog out for a walk to a nearby lake reserve and was walking under some gum trees when she came upon a clearing. As she attempted to cross the clearing she noticed some figures in distance moving towards her. Judging from their height, she thought it was some boys. She also observed a white object that was moving alongside the short figures. Being alone she thought it was prudent to hide behind some trees as the “boys” passed by.
As she crouched with her dog she watched them approach. She slowly became aware that the figures were actually small humanoids; about 3 ft tall whose arms and legs seemed to be too long for their bodies. They moved with a strange gait, almost ape-like and seemed to be unclothed with dark grayish skin. As she watched in amazement the bouncing white object revealed itself as a rolling ball of light trailing behind the short figures. Suddenly the leader lifted his strange long arm high in the air and let out a spine tingling cry, and at this point her dog with her tail between her legs left her behind. The creatures then themselves disappeared into a thicket of lupines not far off.
This experienced was followed up the following night when her cousin, on hearing of her encounter, somehow persuaded her to return to the lake with him, armed with a camera. They did not see any strange creatures but were buzzed by a large craft of white light, which hovered several times over the clearing. Her cousin possible took some pictures of the object.

14-year old Mari Carmen Ramos was walking back home along Gonzalez Amezqueta Avenue, a wide and deserted road. Suddenly as if obeying some invisible instinct she sensed something strange. She looked around apprehensively. After advancing a few steps she noticed somebody approaching in the opposite direction. An unnatural cold and wind filled the air around her. Looking up she noticed what appeared to be a “woman” of considerable height and wearing all black approaching her position at a very high and unnatural rate of speed. It had apparently moved over one hundred meters in a matter of seconds.
Ramos stopped to observe the bizarre figure and noticed that it appeared to slide over the ground effortlessly. It kept its arms rigidly on its side. Its face appeared to be encased in shadows and no features could be seen. The bizarre woman was over 3 meters in height and was moving at very high speed towards the witness who felt petrified with fear and was unable to move. In moments the tall black clad figure shot across in an angle crossing the road and into an adjacent alleyway.
After it had gone the witness looked into the alley and was surprised to see that the figure had completely disappeared.

Location : Santa Lucia, Cabaiguan, Cuba - 1964 - late afternoon
Rodolfo Garcia, was resting after lunch in the tobacco shed, which he found to be cool and quiet. On that afternoon he looked up and saw a ‘man’ wearing a strange outfit. Its face and hands were green, like that of a frog and it had large round protruding eyes. It didn’t have any ears and its mouth was a thin line, it was about as tall as two men and stood on a wooded box staring at the witness.
Terrified Garcia watched as the strange creature seemed to be trying to tell him something. Suddenly it emitted a loud shrieking sound which caused the witness’s eardrums to burst and his ears to bleed. In pain, the witness then fell from his cot. At the same time the creature emitted a second shriek which caused the witness to loose consciousness. Later he was found by one of his sons since the family was concerned that Rodolfo had not returned from his nap. After he told the rest what he had seen they armed themselves with rifles and machetes and searched the tobacco shed but found nothing.

Could the Big Bang theory be wrong? A proposed new model of the universe argues yes—the universe has no origin point at all.
In science, the theories with the most staying power are the ones that explain what we don’t know with the most simplicity and elegance. And surprisingly enough, the simplest new theory in quantum physics may be the one that’s most difficult for us to wrap our heads around: The universe has been around since, well, forever.
Up until now, the theory that’s made the most logical sense to explain how the universe began is the Big Bang, which holds that the universe came into being about 13.8 billion years ago as a result of a single event that launched the universe into a continuous state of expansion. Although this theory has long held its own as a way of understanding Einstein’s theory of general relativity, as scientists have delved deeper into the fascinating world of quantum physics, the Big Bang model has been a bit shakier.
Now researchers working in Egypt and Canada have proposed a new model with a much simpler idea of the beginning of the universe: There wasn’t one. Ahmed Farag Ali of Benha University and the Zewail City of Science and Technology in Egypt, together with Saurya Das at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, have presented their research in a paper called “Cosmology from quantum potential” published in Physics Letters B. The new model makes quantum corrections to a previously known equation that used a theory of quantum trajectory originally proposed by the legendary physicist David Bohm. Using the corrected equation to fit Einstein’s theory of general relativity, the researchers came up with a model that implies that the Big Bang singularity never happened.
The biggest problem with the Big Bang theory is that none of the equations that explain what happened in the singularity can take us all the way back to the moment the singularity actually happened. Instead, the laws of physics can only explain what occurred from the moment the universe achieved what’s known as the Planck Temperature, which happened after the theoretical singularity. Another basic problem is that if the universe is expanding, it must have been expanding from an area that was, at one point, incredibly small and dense—perhaps even infinitely small and dense.
The new model moves away from the “expanding universe” theory. It also sidesteps the matter of the universe’s previous infinite size and density, which the paper calls the “smallness problem,” by relying on a “cosmological constant” term that puts the universe at a finite size. In other words, instead of originating from a single point in a singularity, the universe has simply always been around. Speaking to Nature Middle East last month, Ali said the theory helped unify quantum mechanics and general relativity:
“Our theory serves to complement Einstein’s general relativity, which is very successful at describing physics over large distances…But physicists know that to describe short distances, quantum mechanics must be accommodated.”
Scientists have long appreciated that a more accurate model of the universe might leave out the Big Bang entirely. But the implications of this new model are quite radical in that not only does it sidestep the Big Bang but it also sidesteps numerous other theories that scientists have been working with for decades to explain parts of quantum theory that don’t fit into the Big Bang model—like the theory of cosmic inflation to explain the universe’s rapid exponential growth from its previous small point.
The model also avoids utilizing the theoretical existence of dark energy to explain why the universe began to quickly accelerate about 7 billion years into its existence. The Ali–Das model proposes that the universe is filled with quantum fluid, perhaps made up of theoretical massless particles called gravitons, which are thought to help mediate the effects of gravity. Instead of dark energy causing objects to accelerate and expand, the theory argues that instead, the quantum fluid exerts a slight but constant force on objects to cause the expansion of space.
Finally, the model also potentially explains a phenomenon called Hubble’s Law, which has long been seen as proof of the expansion of the universe, in terms that don’t actually rely on space-time.
The researchers told Phys.org that they were motivated to explore the theory after realizing what the implications were for problems related to the Big Bang. “It is satisfying to note that such straightforward corrections can potentially resolve so many issues at once,” Das noted.
Doubtless this theory, like all good theories, provides more questions than answers. It’s not quite a complete theory of quantum gravity, though it may hold up under future theories. It also, sadly, puts paid to the idea that the universe came from a giant black hole.
Still, in a science where the current standard visions of the universe involve concepts like anti-matter, superstrings, 10 dimensions (or more), membrane universes, and multiverses, a theory like this one seems refreshingly like a return to the basics.
