(VIDEO) The mysterious Tower on the Far Side of the Moon found by Soviet Spacecraft Zond 3

On July 20, 1965, the soviet Spacecraft ZOND 3 took some of the first ever high-quality images of the FAR SIDE of the Moon as the Soviet space probe made its way to Mars. Because of the fact that our planet is ‘tidally locked’ with the Moon, the same side of the moon constantly faces us. Previous to these missions, we had no idea what’s on the ‘other side’ of Earth’s natural satellite.

 

Zond 3 wasn’t the first

 

Two years after the Soviet Union made history by launching Sputnik, it launched Luna 3, the third mission in their lunar program. Luna 3 reached the moon on October 7 when it started taking images of the far side of the lunar surface, covering about 70 percent of the unexplored side of the moon. The spacecraft sent back 17 noisy images before operators in the Soviet Union lost contact on October 22.

 

Even though the images sent back from Luna 3 weren’t the best, it was the first set of images of the moon’s far side, a first for the Soviets and mankind.

 

Zond 3 would complement the exploring Luna 3 did. Zond 3 was meant to reach Mars, and photographing the far side of the moon was a secondary objective for the Soviet Spacecraft. The Soviets equipped the Zond 3 with extremely useful technologies, equipping the spacecraft with two cameras, infrared and ultraviolet spectrometers, a magnetometer, a cosmic ray detector, a solar particle detector, and a meteoroid detector. Zond 3 made its way to the moon 33 hours after being launched on July the 18th, 1965. Just as it passed the far side of the moon, its cameras started exploring the far side of Earth’s satellite, focusing on the 30% that its predecessor, Luna 3 had missed, taking one picture every two minutes and 15 seconds for a total period of one hour and 8 minutes.

 

 

 

Nine days after Zond 3 had taken the images, they arrived to Soviet operators on Earth. The images sent back to Earth were among the first which allowed researchers to take a peek at the numerous geological formations on the far side of Earth’s natural satellite, but among them, one image caused quite a stir among researchers and Ufologists.

 

In one of the images of the far side of the moon, a mysterious tower-shaped structure can clearly be seen protruding the lunar surface. In its vicinity, no other similar structures are seen, and Ufologists believe that the mysterious ‘tower’ seen in the Zond 3 image is a crucial piece of evidence supporting their theory that there are alien structures on the far side of Earth’s moon.

 

The image of the Tower on the moon was obtained on 20 July 1965 by the Russian vehicle Zond 3. At the time, the probe was about 10,000 kilometers above the Moon.

 

So far, the mysterious structure on the far side of the moon is only one of the many that have been found to date according to Ufologists and UFO hunters.

 

Several Monoliths across our Solar System?

 

While some of these structures can be rationally explained as natural geological formations on the surface of the moon, there are some that simply defy every explanation. Is it possible that the tower on the far side of the moon really has an ‘Alien’ origin? And is it possible that there are similar structures across the moon?

 

Looking at the image from the far side of the moon and the mysterious structure, we cannot help and compare it to the mysterious monolith on Mars’ moon Phobos.

 

 

When the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft was mapping the small moon of Mars, Phobos, and sent its incredible images from the small, potato-shaped moon back to Earth satellite Ufologists had a field day speaking about the mysterious structure that was clearly visible on the surface of Phobos. There in plain view, a large rectangular object undoubtedly resembling an artificial monolith stands alone. Nothing in the vicinity has a similar shape or size, so the question is, what is it? What is its purpose? And who placed it there?

 

Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the surface of the moon, surprised many by saying, “We should visit the moon of Mars, there’s a monolith there, a very unusual structure on this little potato shaped object that revolves around Mars once every seven hours. When people find out about that they are going to say, “Who put that there? Who put that there?” Well, the universe put it there, or if you choose God put it there.’

 

Astronomers didn’t hesitate to quickly offer and explanation about the mysterious structure that had Ufologists scratching their heads. According to astronomers and specialists in images, it’s just another “Extraterrestrial rock”.

 

A specialist in images from NASA Lan Fleming, who studied Mars and other solar system anomalies examined the picture of Phobos and stated that the so-called monolith is just a physical anomaly and that there are many others found in different part of our solar system.

Interesting Video Shows Fleet Of UFOs In Formation In The Night Sky Above Chile

A video has sparked speculations after it seemed to show a fleet of UFOs hovering and travelling in formation. The 5-minute YouTube clip shows some bright lights flying in the evening sky above Santiago, Chile.

The lights appear in a distance and look to be flying together at first. Then they start to disseminate like planes coming in to land in a holding pattern above an airport before they disappear altogether.

Titled “Fantastic UFO sighting in Santiago,” the video was posted online on December 22, 2015. Some are convinced by its alien credentials. One commenter says that the UFOs are too fast to consider them Chinese lanterns. However, others suggest that the video only shows drones.

Unusual flying objects have been spotted in Chile, making the place as a UFO hotspot. Andean, a town of San Clemente located 170 miles south of Santiago, has been an area of UFO sightings for the last 20 years.

Hundreds of witnesses reported mysterious shiny objects that fly, drift, and disappear. The town has become the nation’s UFO capital and one of the famous places to spot unusual flying objects.

The San Clemente Trail, which stretches for 19 miles, passes through the Andes and takes visitors to the El Enladrillado, a 2,200-meter high spot where UFOs are said to land for very close encounters with Earth.

What The Hell Is This Weird Object In A Frozen Lake (video)

There’s a peculiar phenomenon occurring in the frozen lakes of the world: Strange circles are cropping up in the ice, and some believed it was the winter version of an alien-made crop circle. However, scientists have recently explained that the shapes are merely ice circles, which crop up after methane emissions create a rising mass of warm water under the surface.

 

 

A strange video is kicking up a storm online, appearing to show a bizarre dark circle in the middle of a frozen lake. The phenomenon, which occurred somewhere in Utah, appears to have large ice crystals embedded throughout.

 

As you might expect, numerous theories and guesses have been thrown around, including a rare fungus, fish blood, a viral marketing campaign or students making a prank video. However, one of the more credible sounding explanations suggests it could be the effect of an organism’s natural antifreeze protein. These could interfere with the crystallization of the ice, causing the formation of the odd-looking structures.

 

The guys in this video discovered a strange something in the middle of a frozen Utah lake. Naturally, they start poking at the object with their bare hands because no one heeds the lessons of sci-fi or horror movies.

 

A nearby takeaway coffee cup, which you can see in the video, is also a prime suspect.

Another brilliant man way ahead of his time, Leonardo da Vinci who was born in 1452, already hundreds of years before the actual inventions were materialized, had developed blueprints for the parachute, helicopter, tank and scuba gear among other things. Although most famous for the “Mona Lisa” painting, da Vinci was an inventor, an artist, a scientist, a mathematician, an architect, an astronomer, and a philosopher, among many other things.

 

da Vinci is often referred to as the original renaissance man because of his revolutionary character and capability. Considering the age in which he lived, which was not one of free thinking and innovation, da Vinci could qualify as having some alien DNA that allowed him to think beyond the confines of being human.

And as University of Barcelona cosmologist Dr. Fergus Simpson argues in a new paper, most intelligent alien species would likely exceed 300 kilograms (661 pounds)–with the median body mass “similar to that of a polar bear.”

If such a being had human proportions, Simpson told The Huffington Post in an email, it would be taller than Robert Wadlow, who at 8 feet, 11 inches is believed to have been the tallest human who ever lived.

Simpson’s paper, which is posted on the online research repository arXiv.org, is chockablock with formidable-looking mathematical equations. But as he explained in the email, his starting point was to consider the relationship between the number of individuals in a population on Earth and the body mass of those individuals:

“Ants easily outnumber us because they are small. Our larger bodies require a much greater energy supply from the local resources, so it would be impossible for us to match the ant population. Now apply this concept to intelligent life across the universe. On average, we should expect physically larger species to have fewer individuals than the smaller species. And, just like with countries, we should expect to be in one of the bigger populations. In other words, we are much more likely to find ourselves to be the ants among intelligent species.”

Or, as Newsweek explained Simpson’s argument, there are probably more planets with relatively small animals than planets with relatively large animals. It makes sense to assume that Earth is in the former category, so we can assume that humans are probably among the smaller intelligent beings.

What do other scientists make of Simpson’s paper?

“I think the average size calculation is reasonable,” Dr. Duncan Forgan, an astrobiologist at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland who wasn’t involved in the research, told Newsweek.

But to Dr. Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, Calif., the argument is suspect.

“There is an assumption here that intelligence can come in all (reasonable) sizes, and does so with more or less equal likelihood,” Shostak told The Huffington Post in an email. “That may be true, but on Earth bigger has not always been better, at least in the brains department. Dolphins have higher IQs than whales, and crows are smarter than eagles. Octopuses are cleverer than giant squids, and obviously we’re smarter than polar bears.”

Ultimately, Shostak said, we can’t know whether “little green men are actually big green men” before we actually make contact.

Air-force Lieutenant’s Mind Blowing Account of Shooting At a UFO

Oscar SantaMaria Huerta is not some random citizen with no verifiable credentials who, for all we know, is looking for attention and has decided to make up an elaborate fairytale. He is a well respected retired Air Force Lieutenant with the Peruvian Air Force and his account of what happened when he attempted to shoot down a UFO is absolutely incredible to say the least.

 

Huerta’s mind blowing experience began early in the morning on April 11, 1980, at La Joya Air Force Base, when he was just a young man in his early twenties.

 

A strange object was spotted floating and Huerta was ordered to intercept it with his fighter jet.

 

 

The object was about five kilometres away, about 600 metres off the ground and was not replying to any communications in a restricted area, which naturally inspired tension and some anxieties.

 

“It had to come down. La Joya was one of the few bases in South America that possessed Soviet-made warfare equipment, and we were concerned about espionage,” the Lieutenant later explained. “I reached the necessary distance and shot a burst of sixty-four 30mm shells, which created a cone-shaped ‘wall of fire’ that would normally obliterate anything in its path… Just one of those shells would wipe out a car, but they had no effect on the object. I thought that the balloon would then be torn open and gases would start pouring out of it. But nothing happened. It seemed as if the huge bullets were absorbed by the balloon, and it wasn’t damaged at all.”

 

As you can imagine this must’ve been an incredibly intense and mind blowing experience for Huerta.

 

The retired lieutenant recalls that the UFO then flew off and he chased it. The object then came to an abrupt halt, which forced him to veer quickly to the side.

 

“I began closing in on it until I had it in perfect sight… I locked on the target and was ready to shoot. But just at that moment, the object made another fast climb, evading the attack. I was left underneath it; it ‘broke the attack’.”

 

Huerta tried over and over to successfully shoot the UFO, but he was out maneuvered every time.

 

The incredible encounter was witnessed by everyone on the base, many of whom gave reports.

 

Huerta is not the first Airforce pilot to have an incredible encounter such as this. In 1976, an Iranian pilot names Parviz Jafari had a similar incident. But when Jafari tried to fire on the UFO his equipment malfunctioned.

 

Huerta believes this may not have happened to him because his “equipment was mechanical, and perhaps that’s the reason it could not be shut down, so instead, the object had to jump away at the last minute.”

 

The former lieutenant is one of many former military officials and high ranking reputable authorities who presented evidence at a press event at the National Press Club in Washington in 2013, which was meant to pressure the U.S. government into facilitating alien disclosure to the public.

Astronomer Douglas Vakoch on SETI’s Search for Alien Life

By proactively transmitting Earth's own messages, scientists look for civilization in space

In 2009, NASA launched the Kepler spacecraft to search for Earth-sized planets orbiting stars in the Orion spiral arm of our galaxy. Of the thousands of stars observed by the spacecraft, an anomaly around the star KIC 8462852 stuck out as particularly intriguing to SETI, the organization for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.

The Kepler pinpoints planets by observing dimming as they travel between their home star and Earth. Planets as large as Jupiter only cause dimming of less than one percent, but with KIC 8462852 astronomers observed dimming at times as high as 22 percent.

“Here’s this anomalous star system showing dimming unlike anything astronomers are used to seeing, and the question is, ‘What’s it being caused by?’” said Douglas Vakoch, Director of Interstellar Message Composition at SETI, in a phone interview with the Observer. Penn State astronomer Jason Wright suggested a large alien megastructure could explain dimming of that magnitude, “but it continues to look like the best explanation is there were fragments of comets that were drawn to the star at just the exact moment the Kepler spacecraft was observing,” added Dr. Vakoch. “That would be a freakish accident if you think in terms of an individual star, because what are the chances we would be looking at the right time and the right place? But it is very conceivable, given Kepler was looking at 100,000 stars.”

‘If there are any aliens, they aren’t making extraordinary efforts to get into contact with us—at least in the ways we’ve been looking.’

To test the hypothesis suggested by Mr. Wright, SETI conducted two separate, simultaneous experiments—one at the Boquete Optical SETI Observatory in Panama and the other at the Allen Telescope array system 300 miles northeast of San Francisco, California. In Panama, the end of the rainy season limited observable nights in November to just six. During those six nights, scientists searched the star in question using a 0.5m Newtonian telescope. Neither experiment yielded favorable findings for the possibility of extraterrestrials, but the results of the Panama-based experiment were published on December 8 in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, of which Mr. Vakoch was a lead author.

Despite the findings, Mr. Vakoch explained there is still room for exploration of KIC 8462852. “I would hope people doing research at infrared frequencies would take a look to see if they find anything there,” he said. “But, if there are any aliens there they aren’t making extraordinary efforts to get into contact with us, at least in the ways we’ve been looking.”

With both experiments in Panama and California completed, Mr. Vakoch said this type of coordination was unprecedented, yet critical in preparation for if and when we do receive a signal from an extraterrestrial source.

In Panama, SETI created a new organization called SETI International, with a focus on encouraging similar international collaborations such as the one used in the latest study of this anomalous star. SETI International also facilitates active searches for extraterrestrial life by transmitting intentional messages to other civilizations around the universe with the hope of receiving a response. As these messages represent the entire planet, what they say ignites controversy—which in part inspired the formation of SETI International.

SETI International has an international board of trustees, ranging from astronomers to experts in a range of disciplines, including the humanities, social sciences, arts, physical sciences and biology. The organization does not yet have specific dates for transmissions to begin, but components of their three-year strategy include the launch of smaller-scale projects to set the foundation for a sustainable ongoing project that will ultimately last centuries.

Given the vast distances these galaxies are from Earth, a reply during our lifetime is improbable, but the groundwork is being laid so future generations may come into contact with extraterrestrials sooner rather than later. Mr. Vakoch explained the basis for establishing an international version of SETI; “It’s difficult enough to start a passive SETI project (searching for extra-terrestrial transmissions), but how do you sustain the interest in these projects? How do you record what’s been transmitted? We are really grappling with the complexities of archiving the messages that will be sent over time and keeping track of the earliest possible date we could expect a reply.”

Footage of a strange light moving across the sky during the Christmas period has been the source of much debate since it was shared on social media.

Webcams in Mexico filmed the eerie light moving erratically above the volcano of Popocatepetl which lies in the eastern half of the Trans-Mexican volcanic belt in the centre of the country.

Many social media users were quick to say that they believed it to be a UFO sightingand more proof that extra-terrestrial beings are monitoring our planet.

Some of the more sceptical viewers put it down to the flare of a firework and the YouTube debate got so heated that the author of the video deactivated the comments function.

The supposed UFO was sighted in a part of Mexico where the Popocatepetl volcano is reportedly still active and estimated to be as old as 730,000 years.

Its last eruption dates back to October 7, 2015.

This comes just after a similar sighting near the city of in La Paz in Bolivia, when locals filmed and uploaded what looks like a flying saucer hovering in the sky.

The images have been published worldwide on UFO websites as well as being reported on by international media outlets.
