Mind-reading is often dismissed as nothing more than a charlatan trick, but scientists and researchers are trying to change this ‘decoding of the brain’ from quack-science to hard science.
Indeed, significant advancements have been made in this area already. And now, University of Washington scientists have developed technology that allows a device to effectively read your mind.
With a combination of brain implants and sophisticated software, the team was able to interpret their subjects’ thoughts and extrapolate what their subjects were seeing. Thanks to this study, scientists were able to gain insight into how people are able to translate sensory information from an image into something our minds can comprehend.
In their work, which was published in PLOS Computational Biology, the researchers implanted electrodes for a week in seven epilepsy patients. The electrodes were initially implanted to determine where the seizures were originating, but the scientists saw an opportunity to use them to gather data for research (with patients’ permission, of course).
“We were trying to understand, first, how the human brain perceives objects in the temporal lobe, and second, how one could use a computer to extract and predict what someone is seeing in real time?” explained Rajesh Rao, one of the lead authors, in their press release.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR THOUGHTS

With electrodes in their brains, patients were shown a random sequence of images varying from human faces, houses, and empty gray screens in brief 400 millisecond intervals. The patients were instructed to look out for an image of an upside-down house.
Data was gathered during this time period from the electrodes. This data reflected what is called “event related potentials,” the massive inflow of neurons lighting up after seeing the image, and “broadband spectral changes,” lingering signals after the image was seen.
A computer sampled and digitized the incoming data at a rate of 1,000 times per second, which enabled it to figure out the correlation between the images seen by the patients and the electrode location. Using this data, it was able to distinguish which location is more sensitive to an image of a face and that of a house. This data was used to train the software.
Another set of images, both containing houses and faces, that weren’t shown in the earlier sequences was then shown to the patients. The computer was able to interpret the incoming brain signals in the data and determine what image the subject was then viewing with a 96 percent accuracy—despite a lack of prior exposure to these new picture.
It accomplished all that within 20 milliseconds from the arrival of the data, or almost at the speed of perception itself.
What is more interesting is that the software was only able to accomplish this when it analyzed the signals using both event-related potentials and broadband spectral changes, suggesting that impulses across the region (and not only from the neurons in question) is important to how a person perceives an object.
This research is significant, as scientists are currently trying to map our brains. In the end, brain mapping could identify how various neurons, and their locations, relate to how we process our information and ultimately improve our understanding of how neurological diseases affect us.
A new image from NASA’s New Horizons mission shows the existence of “icebergs” on Pluto, hills of water ice floating in glaciers of denser nitrogen ice. It is but another of many fascinating discoveries returned by this fruitful mission.
WATER ICE AND NITROGEN ICE
NASA’s New Horizons mission keeps astonishing us with new images and new revelations about the mysterious, demoted dwarf planet, Pluto.
The most recent discovery is this little gem: Pluto has hills and small mountains that literally float across its surface. It’s weird and unearthly, but we’re dealing, after all, with a very alien world on the outskirts of the Solar System.
And things are bound to get even weirder.
The newly discovered hills are mostly small, typically a few kilometers across, and were discovered in the immense frozen ocean of the so-called “Sputnik Planum,” which represents the western lobe of the famous heart-shaped Tombaugh Regio, the most prominent feature on Pluto.
It seems these hills are composed of familiar water ice (so they really are icebergs, just like their terrestrial counterparts); since water ice is less dense than nitrogen ice, these hills are literally bobbing in a vast glacier or frozen ocean of nitrogen.
The ice-hills themselves appear to be fragments of the water-ice uplands that ring the smooth Sputnik Planum, and they have apparently broken off and been swept away by the nitrogen glaciers, just like any iceberg in Earth’s Arctic or Antarctic oceans.

THE CELLULAR TERRAIN
Once afloat in the midst of Sputnik Planum, the ice-hills fall under the sway of the strange forces at work in the vast nitrogen ice glacier. The so-called “cellular terrain” in the central regions of the glacier result from the slow, aeon-spanning convective forces of the nitrogen ice; the ice-hills are caught up in these convective cells, and pushed to their edges, forming small clusters or chains in some cases up to 20 kilometers (12 miles) long.
An unusually large concentration of these “icebergs” was found in a feature called Challenger Colles (“the Challenger hills,” named after the ill-fated Space Shuttle). The feature (seen at the top of the image), with dimensions of 60 by 35 kilometers (37 by 22 miles), seems to represent a kind of “reef” or shallows where a large number of the ice-hills accumulated and “ran aground.”
The discovery of icebergs on Pluto seems to provide a familiar reference-point and link to the geology, hydrology, and other forces at work on Earth; but, once we look into things a little more closely, we understand just how truly alien this distant member of our Solar System really is.
Astronomers have released a new X-ray/radio composite image of the distant galaxy Pictor A, showing a huge jet of high-energy particles produced by a supermassive black hole. They were also able to determine how this jet, over three times the size of the Milky Way galaxy, produces such powerful X-ray emissions.
JET AND COUNTERJET
In the 2014 film Interstellar, Matthew McConaughey and friends were shown exploring a series of planets orbiting a supermassive (but relatively benign) black hole in a distant galaxy. The black hole, called “Gargantua,” was supposed to have an event horizon—that is, a point of no return—about as large as the Earth’s orbit; nevertheless, Gargantua was depicted as fairly quiescent and neighborly.
But the reality of these colossal cosmic nightmares, as a recent image from NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory shows, is something very different.
The newly released picture shows the terrifying power of an actual supermassive black hole located in the galaxy Pictor A, some 500 million light years distant. This black hole is about 40 million times the mass of the Sun (that’s about 10 times larger than the black hole at the center of our own galaxy), and if it were to replace the Sun within our Solar System, its event horizon would swallow the orbits of both Mercury and Venus.
So it’s pretty big.
Unlike Gargantua, however, the Pictor A black hole is an energetic and ferocious beast, lashing out at the universe with all the considerable power at its disposal. The new image shows how the material being consumed by the black hole—stars, planets, interstellar gas, unwary astronauts (kidding)—releases a tremendous surplus of energy as it swirls around the event horizon in a massive accretion disk.
All of this unbridled energy is channeled into two immense jets of particles that pierce the intergalactic medium at nearly the speed of light. In fact, these particle beams are so powerful that the observed jet—which is pointed roughly in the direction of the Earth—maintains its integrity for a distance of nearly 300,000 light years.
That’s over three times the length of our own Milky Way galaxy!
Which just serves to underscore the unfathomable energies involved. The new image—which was compiled over 15 years from Chandra data, and is combined with radio imagery from theAustralia Telescope Compact Array—also betrays a fainter “counterjet.” Because it is on the opposite side of the Pictor A galaxy, moving away from Earth, this counterjet is far less visible.
The radio data, which is red in the image (blue represents the Chandra data), also show two huge “radio lobes,” each many times larger than the Milky Way, caused by the jet interacting with intergalactic gas, and a blue X-ray “hotspot” on the far right, the result of shock waves produced by the jet.

SYNCHROTRON EMISSIONS
The researchers who studied the new data were able to determine that the X-rays generated by the jets of the Pictor A supermassive black hole are most likely caused by what is called “synchrotron emission.” In this mechanism, X-rays are emitted by electrons caught up and spiraling around in powerful magnetic fields.
They were also able to rule out a competing theory: the notion that electrons flung at near light-speed from the central black hole collide with photons from the cosmic microwave background (CMB). Theoretically, such a collision should boost the CMB photons into the X-ray part of the spectrum. But the X-ray signatures did not match this scenario, effectively eliminating it from contention.
Whatever the case, it’s safe to assume there aren’t any inhabitable planets circling the supermassive black hole of Pictor A, and that even Matthew McConaughey would think twice before exploring the environment of this monster.
Major satellite launches have often been followed by UFO sightings soon afterwards, for example, after Sputnik I and II in 1957. In Ottawa, Canada, UFOs were seen on March 3, 1969 after the Apollo 9 launch, on June, 5, 1969 after a suborbital (failed launch) to the moon by the Soviet Union, and in July, 1969, as Apollo 11 orbited the Moon. These correlations, among others, suggest that major rocket launches, especially those extending out of near-Earth orbits, tend to stimulate UFO activity.
Introduction
Major rocket launches have often been followed by UFO activity, possibly coordinated from outposts on the Moon (Lorenzen, 1966, pp. 266, 267).
By 1969, however, there were so many rocket launches and UFO sightings that any attempt to establish correlations between them would be difficult. A decade earlier, there were fewer objects in orbit, though many suborbital flights were still taking place in the late 1940s. To establish the proper sequence of events in this article, Universal Time (designated Z for Zulu) will be given, as well as some local (24 hour time) equivalents (in parentheses).
Following the launch of Sputnik 1 from Baikonur, which the Encyclopedia Astronomica (1957) recorded as onOctober 4, 1957 at 19:28 Z (Oct. 5, 0:28 local time),Lorenzen (1966, p. 65) reported that a 23 year-old farmer inBrazil, Antonio Villas-Boas, observed a nearby area “...lighted as if by a giant searchlight” at about 11 p.m. local time (Oct. 6, 02:00 Z).
This observation was therefore made 30 hours, 32 minutes after the Sputnik I launch. Subsequently, while plowing a field on October 14, the same farmer saw a cartwheel-shaped UFO about 122 meters (400 feet) off the ground, an observation suggesting a UFOfor the earlier Oct. 5 source of light.
UFO activityspiked after the launches of Sputnik I and II, as numerous reports in the NICAP 1957 Sighting Wave Chronology (2014) reveal. Only 1.5 to 4 hours after the Sputnik II launch on Nov. 3, 1957 at 2:30 Z, for instance, a glowing egg-shaped object landed on roads and stalled car engines near Levelland, Texas; on Nov. 4, a UFO was tracked for 20 minutes on radar and was seen by two people at Kirtland Airforce Base (Hynek, 1972; Encyclopedia Astronomica, 1957).
Also on Nov. 4, 1957 at 05:03 Z a large disc-shaped UFO with an orange glow descended at an army garrison atItaipu, near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and produced a wave of heat that struck two soldiers, causing first- and second degree burns to 10 percent of their bodies (Lorenzen, 1966).
In some UFO cases, the time lag between a rocket launch and a UFO sighting has been relatively short.
For example, a UFO tracked a Polaris missile during test firing on January 10, 1961; similarly in 1964 soon after another launch, a UFO intercepted an Atlas rocket (Dolan, 2000; Fox & Coleman, 2007). Most surprisingly, perhaps, only four minutes after launch of a rocket carrying China’s first female astronaut on June 16, 2012, an infrared video camera recorded two glowing UFOs nearby (Good, 2013). If it is assumed that UFO responses are coordinated from a Moon base, then launches made from the side of the Earth hidden from UFOs on the Moon would not be as rapid (and the launch site would be obscured), as if they were made from the side of the Earth facing the Moon. These relationships could explain different time lags between rocket launches and UFO sightings, though this would assume that the UFOs were all stationed on the Moon at launch times.

March 4, 1969, Ottawa, Canada
Less than 34 hours after launch of Apollo 9 on March 3, 1969 at 15:00 Z , a round UFO was observed onParliament Hill by seven (7) RCMP officers between 0:45 and 2:34 Z. Twenty-six minutes later another RCMPofficer reported two red flashing lights in the sky above Sussex Drive without any associated engine noise(Bondarchuck, 1979).
In addition to the three rocket launches on June 5 described by Nentwich (2008), there was a fourth launch, namely aSoviet Luna mission to the Moon, which failed to achieve orbit
Although this launch was excluded from Clark’s (1977) list of Luna launch failures, Greg Kennedy, compiler of the online “Chronology of Human Space Exploration Part 5: 1967-1974” informed me in an email on Oct. 17, 2008that the ‘Mission Planner’s Manual Proton Commercial Launch Vehicle’ document, printed in 1989 by the Space Commerce Corporation in Houston listed the launch on June 5th, with the note that the second stage failed, while the 1996 TRW Space Log listed the same launch as June 4th, also pointing out that it failed to orbit.
The ideal time for this launch, as given in a “1969 June 1 – Soviet lunar plans”, would have been June 3, 1969 at 23:18 Z, and because Soviet lunar launches were usually within an hour of the ideal time, as noted by Clark (1977), an early June 4th launch seems to be the most likely. In fact, Sokolov (2001) confirmed the Luna launch on June 4 or earlier, stating that because of an electrical problem (p. 461) “...the upper stage could not fire. The complex fell into the Pacific Ocean.”
In addition, he pointed out that another rocket was launched afterLuna on June 4, 1969which reached a height of only 100 metres,at which point it exploded with a power of about ten (10) kilotons!

A resident of Uba, Brazil was driving in a car with six passengers when at 09:00 Z their car was “...pursued by a bright orange-colored object which flew around in circles above them, producing interference with the car radio and stopping the engine for a few moments” (Flying Saucer Review Case Histories, 1971, p. 16; UFOCAT, 2005). In addition, several witnesses also observed a UFO after 20:00 Z at a lake 60 km west of Quebec City, Canada,
Between 22:50 and 23:00 Z, more than 50 witnesses reported UFOs in Iowa (Southern Illinoisan, June 6, 1969; Muscatine Journal, June 6, 1969).
Dr. J. Allen Hynek“stated he understood the phenomenon was flashing silver, orange and copper colored, with chunks flying off of it”, while other reports told of two or three objects with bluish-green wakes (Southern Illinoisan, June 6, 1969, p. 14).
Dr. Hynek suggested that the objects could have been parts of a re-entering Russian satellite, although an official with the Space Defence Center stated that “…it was highly unlikely that the objects were from a satellite because one is rarely placed in an east-west orbit.”(Daily Capital News, June 7, 1969, p. 1)
An FAA official stated that sightings at Riverside and Iowa City, were “...variously described as a bright ball of fire, flash[ing] and cigar-shaped objects” with “Colors…from silver to blue and blue-green” (Cedar Rapids Gazette, June 6, 1969, p. 4). The azimuth of the ground path of the “Iowa Fireball” on the map of plate 4 in Klass (1975) was about 272º, equivalent to an inclination of 178º, and therefore larger than the maximum reported inclination of any satellite launched up to that time.
Here it should be noted that the ground path of a satellite is determined by the inclination of its orbit, which is the angle between the Earth’s equatorial plane and a spacecraft’s orbital plane (major axis). Of the thousands of launch-related items in the NORAD Catalog (2012) prior to June 7, 1969, with the exception of 13 which did not re-enter the atmosphere in the June 4 to 6 time interval, the maximum inclinations were all less than 121º,corresponding to azimuths larger than 329º but less than 90º.
Three (3) satellites were expected to re-enter June 5 or 6 but would not cross the sky from east to west (Southern Illinoisan, Friday, June 6, 1969, p. 14).
A Soviet rocket body (NORAD ID 3223) with an inclination of 64.8º (25.2º azimuth) re-entered the atmosphere onJune 5, as listed in the NORAD Catalog (2012), but obviously did not have the east to west ground path of the “Iowa fireball”.
Cosmos 284 had an inclination of 62.3º (azimuth 27.7º), re-entering the atmosphere on June 6 at 5:46 Z, making a soft landing in the Soviet Union (Fairbanks Daily News, June 6, 1969, p. 1; NORAD Catalog, 2012)
For all of these reasons, Cosmos 284 was not responsible for the “Iowa fireball” and, in o summary, neither a rocket launch nor a re-entering satellite explains the “Iowa fireball”.
The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory concluded that the “Iowa fireball” had been a meteor, and members of its Meteorite Recovery Project proposed a landing site in southern Iowa (Blue Book files, 1969; Cedar Rapids Gazette, June 7, 1969). However, the following descriptions from several witnesses should be considered before drawing such a conclusion. For instance, a pilot, a teenager and a woman described the object “…as blue and circular, with no wings or indication of a propulsion system…flying east to west above the runway at an altitude of less than 1,000 feet” and with a speed between 483 and 644 km/hr (300 and 400 mph) (Cedar Rapids Gazette, June 6, 1969, p. 3).
A witness north in St. Louis, Missouri reported three objects in a line heading WNW for 60 to 80 seconds, with shapes resembling elongate badminton shuttlecocks (Blue Book files, 1969, p. 14 - 21). A student in East St. Louis, Illinois saw three bright self-luminous, lime-green oval objects beside each other about 805 meters (half a mile) away, decreasing in altitude from 518 to 457 meters (1,700 to 1,500 feet), whereas another witness saw four objects in a line heading west, one of which was oval-shaped with a blue-silver tail (Blue Book Files, 1969, p. 24 – 42).
Several other witnesses saw one of the objects speeding up relative to the other two, while a civilian 53 km (33 miles) northwest of downtown Chicagosaw a single tear-drop shaped object (silvery-aqua color), with a tail 10 times as long as the diameter of the head, and with a piece falling upwards from the object as it traveled silently straight and level (Blue Book Files, 1969).
The most easterly sighting was made by a pilot and two other persons in an airplane near Greenfield, Indiana, who, for about 30 seconds saw a single object with an almost metallic “face” south of Greenfield heading west (Blue Book files, 1969, pp. 47-50). Its trajectory was south of the one shown in plate 4 of Klass (1975), such that different objects were travelling along separate parallel paths.
To summarize, the object(s) had the following characteristics, some of which were not meteor-like: a silvery metallic appearance; flying without being heard; one “piece” moving upwards; one object speeding up relative to the other two; a change in relative positions of the objects from one after another to one beside the other; visibility in flight for over a minute; apparent shapes resembling either a tear-drop, oval, cone, bullet or badminton shuttlecock.
The most compelling evidence for a UFO interpretation, however, was described in a UFO Investigator (1972) article, based on a sighting by an FAA controllerand several pilots, who were flying east near St. Louis, Missouri on June 5. Interestingly, a drawing of a side view of the object in that article resembles the side view of the Roswell UFOillustrated in Randle and Schmitt (1994). The UFO was described in this 1972 article as hydroplane-shaped, 18 to 20 feet long, 7 to 8 feet thick and 12 to 14 feet across at the back end. Viewed from the side, such an object could have had an elongate teardrop shape, but seen at different angles from a distance, it would have had different shapes.
June 6, 1969 in the West End of Ottawa, Canada
On June 6, 1969 between 2:00 and 2:45 Z, and most likely at about 2:30 Z (June 5, 22:30), a UFO about 60 m long (Fig. 1)was observed in the west end of Ottawa (Nentwich, 2008). Its surface wasnot uniformly reflecting light, but was partly covered with a black film.

At about the same time in Ottawa, UFOs appeared over Parliament Hill, after which they travelled to Uplands Airport (Bondarchuk 1979).

July 18, 1969 about 321,861 km into the flight of Apollo 11
Buzz Aldrin wrote that with the help of an on-board telescope, a UFO was seen pacing their spacecraft; the UFO resembled “a series of ellipses, but when you made it real sharp it was sort of L-shaped”
An employee of the National Research Council, as well as some of her neighbors and a police officer, reported a UFOin Hull (now Gatineau just north of Ottawa) between 11:00 and 1:00 Z. The NRC employee stated that it was “A single object, shaped like a watermelon, glowing brightly with an orange hue”... that “Passed slowly overhead and then travelled at great speed across the Ottawa River to the Parliament Bldgs”, over which it hovered (NRC File N69-128, 1969). This sighting was on the same day as the Apollo 11 Moon landing.
Apollo Flights and UFO Sightings
Maurice Chatelain, former chief of NASA communications systems, quoted in Good (1988, p. 385), stated that “...all Apollo and Gemini flights were followed, both at a distance and sometimes also quite closely, by space vehicles of extraterrestrial origin....Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission Control, who ordered absolute silence.” Further evidence supporting this claim includes an analysis of Apollo 16 film by Nakamura (2003, p. 409),who described an enormous domed disc travelling 20 to 40 km/second and wobbling like a leaf falling from a tree.
In addition, indirect evidence presented by Good (2013) suggests that after landing the lunar module on the Moon, theApollo 11 astronauts observed large UFOs nearby. A summary of tentative evidence concerning life on the Moon, including UFO activity there, has been considered by Proud (2013, pp. 279-356), based on many sources in the literature.
Conclusions
UFOs appearing after major rocket launches at or near the launch site or even following the rockets leaves little doubt that such launches stimulate UFO activity. In some cases, however, UFOs have appeared large distances from the launch sites, as in the Texas UFO sightings after the Sputnik 2 launch. These cases are less convincing though the appearance of a UFO shortly after a launch when there were only a few objects in orbit is still significant. The reports of UFOs in Ottawa after the Apollo 9 and Luna launches, and on the day of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, considered together, do not seem entirely coincidental, especially if one includes the Apollo 11 sightings on the way to the Moon.
It may be that UFO reports correlate more strongly with artificial satellites sent by humans beyond near Earth orbits than they do with orbital or suborbital flights. On the other hand, UFOs were also reported on dates when there were no Apollo flights. For instance, a UFO on April 22, 1969 about 25 miles east of Ottawa was seen flying along a power line while another was seen on May 11, 1969 on Allumette Island west of Ottawa (Bray, 1979; Rutkowski, 2006).

Throwing a tight spiral to a receiver downfield isn't so different from trying to get a rocket to fly smoothly through the atmosphere.
Or at least these tasks are similar when viewed from an aerodynamic perspective: Both present questions about how air flows over the surface of an object as the object is hurtled from one point to another through the atmosphere.
So perhaps it's not a coincidence that Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California — where Super Bowl 50 will take place this Sunday (Feb. 7) — isn't the only place in California where people are studying the best way to throw a football. Only a few miles away is the NASA Ames Research Center, where engineers can use wind tunnels, water channels and other tools to study the aerodynamics of rockets, airplanes — and even footballs. In Ames' Experimental Aero-Physics Branch lab, scientists use a fluid dynamics chamber to recreate the conditions of an object flying through the air. The chamber has the bonuses of keeping the object in one place, and showing engineers the normally invisible motion of the air around the object. For example, using lasers and smoke, it is possible for scientists to see how the air curls and swirls as it flows off the back of a football, just as it might when the football leaves the quarterback's hand and heads toward the receiver.
"What we are looking for in the smoke patterns is, at what speed the smoke patterns suddenly change," Rabi Mehta, chief of the Experimental Aero-Physics Branch at Ames, said in a statement.
One of the major factors in determining how well an object flies through the air is the so-called "boundary layer" — a thin layer of air around the object that can act like a buffer, letting the air slide over the object and thus making it more aerodynamic, according to NASA. If the boundary layer is torn off the object, friction can slow down the object or cause it to wobble.
"It is the state and behavior of that layer that is critical to the performance of the ball," Mehta said. "The materials used, the ball's surface roughness and its [weight] distribution determine its aerodynamics."
A golf ball, for example, is dimpled for a very important aerodynamic reason: The dimples make the boundary layer more turbulent, which keeps it wrapped around the ball longer. A smooth golf ball loses its boundary layer faster, and only travels about half the distance as a dimpled ball, the statement said.
A football isn't dimpled, but it is "shaped like a wing and more aerodynamic than a round ball, so the flow [of air] is very different," Mehta said.
"When a quarterback throws the football, he ideally wants to throw a tight spiral with high rotation rate to help stabilize the ball as it flies through the air," he said. "This produces lower drag than a wobbling ball, so it will get there faster."
These types of studies can also provide insight into why a baseball curves, or why a football punter should try to kick the ball so that it rotates around a horizontal axis.

Mehta has spoken to athletes about the aerodynamics of the balls used in their respective sports, and says the athletes often seem to understand exactly what he's talking about. Even though they haven't studied aerodynamics in a lab, their experience on the field has taught them lessons about how a ball moves through the air. Talking to nonscientists about the aerodynamics of footballs and other sports equipment can also be a way to get them interested in science.
"Sports provide a great opportunity to introduce the next generation of researchers to our field of aerodynamics by showing them something they can relate to," Mehta said.

The Super Bowl commercial for LG's new ultra-thin TV has a decidedly sci-fi bent.
The minute-long ad, which will air Sunday (Feb. 7) during Super Bowl 50 between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, stars Irish actor Liam Neeson as "The Man from the Future," who travels back in time to tell a younger version of himself (played by Neeson's son, Micheal) about the coming revolution in viewing technology.
That revolution, according to the commercial, is the G6 OLED TV, a soon-to-be-launched product that LG representatives say is as thin as four credit cards stacked on top of one another.
The ad's executive producer is Ridley Scott, the director of such prominent sci-fi films as "Alien" (1979), "Blade Runner" (1982), "Prometheus" (2012) and 2015's "The Martian," which was recently nominated for six Academy Awards. Scott's son Jake directed the new "Man from the Future" LG ad.

NASA Archives UFO Research Studies
Dr. Alan Holt writes UFO Research studies indicate that the unexplained (residual) UFO phenomena may be due to extraterrestrial visitors, parapsychological experiences, or a combination of the two. If some UFO phenomena are caused by extraterrestrial visitors in very advanced spacecraft, then the frequency of visits and the large number of different types of visitors (many different humanoids have been described) imply ability to cross-large stretches of galactic and inter-galactic space in relatively short time frames.
If the speed of light is a true limit of velocity in space-time, then the potential extraterrestrial visitors must utilize a form of transportation, which transcends space and time to keep the trip times short. UFOs are often observed to disappear instantaneously. In a subset of these cases, the UFO later reappears at a nearby location implying a disappearance from and reappearance into space-time. The high speed, right angle turns, abrupt stops or accelerations of UFOs, and the absence of sonic booms despite calculated speeds of 22,000 mph or more suggest that UFOs may generate an artificial gravitational field or otherwise use properties of space-time which we are not familiar with, UFO propulsion systems appear to involve electromagnetic or hydromagnetic processes as evidenced by radiative effects on the environment such as burns, dehydration, stopping of automobile engines, TV and radio disruption, melting or alteration of ground and road surfaces, power disruptions, and static electricity effects.
This data suggests that the unknown relationship between electromagnetic and gravitational fields may be used in UFO propulsion systems.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF PROPULSION CONCEPT
The concept of transcending space-time for interstellar and intergalactic travel was felt to be a viable possibility based solely on theoretical studies in physics and ‘astrophysics and UFO studies. However, with the postulation and potential discovery of black holes, the potential for experimental support for this concept in the near future has been established. Astronomers have already speculated on the possibility that the mass and energy absorbed by a black hole may reappear in white holes or quasars. For mass and energy to be transported from one space-time point to another without an observable connection implies some form of higher dimensional space transcending space-time as we know it. The existence of a higher dimensional space would open up new space travel” possibilities since the connections between space-time points through this hyperspace could involve laws much different from those, which are so constraining in space-time. For example, if each space-tine point can be assumed to be unique and if a relationship does exist between gravitational and electromagnetic fields, then each space-time point defined by a geometric form (Einstein’s tensor metric) would be expected to have natural resonances with certain electro/hydro magnetic wave forms (geometric forms) which are (effectively) higher or lower harmonics of that space-time point (which is a”projection”of the higher dimensional space). Unconventional Flying Objects
NASA’s Paul Hill’s book, Unconventional Flying Objects, is based on solid NASA/US Military data. It is solid physics and engineering showing that UFOs have some kind of propellant less inertial drive based on a micro-miniaturized, probably nano-engineered, smart high temperature superconducting outer shell. The Modanese theory fits this scenario quite well and is mathematically simple.
The Paul R Hill Special Collection is held by the Archives of American Aerospace. He was awarded NASA’s Exceptional Service Medal in 1969.This award was “… granted for significant achievement or service characterized by unusual initiative or creative ability that clearly demonstrates substantial improvement in engineering, administrative space flight, or space-related endeavors which contribute to NASA programs”. In 1970, Hill received a citation for outstanding scientific leadership for “directing research applicable to space laboratories and other spacecraft.”
He authored the first NACA technical paper on ram jet technology and headed the NACA’s Pilotless Aircraft Division.
By the early 1950s, in part inspired by his personal interest in the ‘flying saucer’ or ‘UFO‘ phenomenon, Hill began experimenting in his own time with kinesthetically controlled flying platforms.
In 1956 the US Air Force established project HYWARDS, with the aim of developing a hypersonic design capable of up to Mach 12, as a successor to the X-15. Hill made a number of important contributions, particularly in the design of hypersonic wind tunnels. By 1959, Hill became involved in research for a future lunar mission.
Space station research began in earnest at NASA-Langley in the early 1960s and Hill played a prominent role.
He maintained a long-term interest in Unidentified Flying Objects. He had two personal UFO sightings. The first was on July 16, 1952, with his future wife, Frances Hoback, and was reported to the USAFBlue Book project. This sighting was officially classified as aeroplanes as a flight of bombers were in the area.
The then head of Blue Book, Captain Edward Ruppelt was later to write of the case, that,
“The only possible solution to the sighting was that the two men (sic) had seen airplanes. We investigated this report and found that there were several B-26’s from Langley AFB in the area at the time of the sighting. However, none of the B-26 pilots remembered being over Hampton Roads. In fact, all of them had generally stayed well south of Norfolk until about 10:30 P.M. because of thunderstorm activity northwest of Langley. Then there were other factors – the observers heard no sound and they were away from all city noises, also aircraft don’t carry just one or two amber lights, and the distance between the two lights was such that had they been on an airplane the airplane would have been huge or very close to the observers. “And last, but not least, the man from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics was a very famous aerodynamicist and of such professional stature that if he said the lights weren’t airplanes they weren’t.”
Hill’s second personal UFO sighting, in 1962, was not reported to Blue Book, but is described in his book. Hill was a strong proponent of the extraterrestrial hypothesis, which suggests that some UFOs represent structural craft of extraterrestrial origin. After retiring from NASA he developed his analysis with the aim of demonstrating that those UFOs that are not misidentifications of mundane objects or phenomena, have a coherent and consistent set of performance characteristics that are in line with what is allowable within physical theory. Hill presented his case within his book, ‘Unconventional Flying Objects: A Scientific Analysis’. The book was published posthumously.

Space Travel Shorter Time Period Than Thought
The basis for the shortened trip in space is NASA scientist engineer’s Paul R. Hills book “Unconventional Flying Objects“ with a forward by astronaut Edgar Mitchell. Hill obtained numerous UFO reports at Langley Air Force Base where I was stationed. NASA was picking up evidence for alien bases on the Moon and the Shuttle was videotaping UFOs. He developed a chapter on space travel with the appropriate math.
He states the trip to, “Aloha Centuri, a triple star system 4.3 light years away made by accelerating at 140 g to a v/c of 0.9999 is accomplished from a standing start to a standing finish in 6 weeks.” He points out that aliens traveling from many of the 2000 known planets could reach here in less than two years, the time it took Sir Francis Drake to go around the world.
Hill states, “I hope I have made it clear that there is an important distinction to be made between the time experienced by the space traveler and the time which passes meanwhile on the home planet and on the planetary destination. The tremendous acceleration, speed, and energy capabilities displayed by UFOs make them well suited to capitalize on this distinction by the attainment of greatly reduced on board times realizable by approaching the speed of light. Even an approach to 90 % of light speed gets the job done for the nearer stars. Higher fractions of light speed give attractive time reductions for longer trips. Don’t be misled by countless statements in the literature that interstellar distances and the speed of light constitute some kind of barrier to space travel. There are only two paths to this conclusion:
Nobody in the universe has the technology to approach the speed of light.
Observer time is significant, and on board time is to be ignored.
Both paths are false ones. The confused second view is more common. Its proponents are using the observed time for light to travel as the shortest possible time for passage is totally false”. Pages 272 and 278. Thanks to NASA’s Paul Hill.

Provo – 1967 disc from Lt. Col. Wendell Steven’s files now owned by Open Minds. Air Force Captain Harvey Williams was flying a C- 47 at 12,000 feet when he took this photo of a possible Alien Reproduction Vehicle 25 miles southwest of Provo, Utah. Allegedly, the disc could operate near the speed of light by reducing the mass of the vehicle and withdrawing energy from the space environment.
The late Ben R. Rich, a UCLA School of Engineering alumnus (MS ’50) who is known as the “Father of Stealth,” is recognized as one of the best aircraft engineers in the world and led development of the heralded F-117 stealth fighter. At an engineering conference in Los Angeles on March 23, 1993, Dr. Ben R. Rich stated to the future International Director of the Mutual UFO Network engineer Jan Harzan that “We already have in our possession the technology to take ET home.” This was in a conference room full of aerospace and computer engineers from many different UCLA School of Engineering alumni who worked for aerospace and software companies
Ben showed slides and went through the history of the Skunk Works. Showed pictures of U2 and SR-71 and drones that no one had seen before.-The last slide showed a black disk headed for space. Ben showed this and made the statement, “We now have the technology to take ET home”. During Questions and Answers afterwards he told the engineers that it was now possible to travel to the stars. There was an error in the equations, which was corrected. The time of travel is fast, but he didn’t say how fast. Ben said he believed that security was too oppressive and that the time had come to develop this technology in the commercial world now that the cold war has ended. He died of cancer months later.
A series of retired engineers from TRW, McDonald Douglas, and Lockheed are now revealing that the US has unbelievable advanced technology. That standard college level scientific education is thirty plus years behind.
The US Air Force Academy Space Sciences Textbook warned if UFOs exist they make many of the laws of physics obsolete such as Einstein’s law.
Colonel Donald G. Carpenter writes, “Something that must be guarded against in any such study is the trap of implicitly assuming that our knowledge of Physics (or any other branch of science) is complete. An example of one such trap is selecting a group of physical laws, which we now accept as valid, and assume that they will never be superseded. Five such laws might be:”
Every action must have an opposite and equal reaction.Every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force proportional to the product of the masses and inversely as the square of the distance.3. Energy, mass and momentum are conserved.4. No material body can have a speed as great as c, the speed of light in free space.
5. The maximum energy, E, which can be obtained from a body at rest is E=mc2, where m is the rest mass of the body.

LD Harbor — On Russian New Year’s around 8:15 pm, I was headed down to the gym to pick up my daughter on January 14, 2016. She had just called to say that only two of her friends and herself were there and she wanted to be picked up early. As I rounded the corner, I thought I saw a shooting star off to my right, towards the hillside. As I got to the store, I realized it was three blinking lights close together. I thought maybe it was a remote control airplane or a drone. Also, the object was flying pretty fast. When I arrived at the school, I could see the three girls swinging on the swing set waiting for me. My daughter came running at me full speed waiving her arms. She was all excited saying, “Did you see that mom? It was a big drone or something right above us! It hovered right above us! I searched the sky above the school and caught site of the blinking lights. Three colors, the object traveled fast, south, toward the church, then took a sharp left out toward the bay.It headed straight to the airstrip fast! I thought it was going to land. My daughter wanted me to follow it and we spotted it heading our way from the airstrip. It was still out over the bay, my daughter wanted me to stop the truck. She said it was coming closer to check us out, that freaked me out but I stopped the truck anyway. I looked just in time to see the blinking lights fly up higher, fast and go towards the hillside and disappear.
Witness two,. My daughter states, “My two friends saw it hover for some 5 minutes about eight feet above us. After my mom pulled up, it glided toward the church and then over the ocean toward the airport..” Thanks to MUFON CMS
California Lights
Anaheim — My daughter took a picture of the pinkish sky. In the process she captured these four ufo like circles in the picture.
I looked up and saw them as well briefly as I was driving. but as soon as I turned to keep an eye on the road they disappeared.
These don’t look aircraft like in any way and made no sign, or trace, or sound.. And the spacing between all for is exact to the dimension.

I was driving along I-75 when I spotted this seemingly stationary object on January 4, 2016.
I used my daughters monocular to view the oval object with no familiar shapes or markings. I snapped several photos as best as I could but had to remain safe with children in car.

Indiana Green Ball
Noblesville — The day before Thanksgiving, on November 25, 2015, my husband, Jay, accompanied me to the store. At 21:21 hours, local time, a cloud was lit, from above, as though a plane were just above it. A bright green ball of light passed through the cloud and descended 3,000 feet, slowly towards the ground. My first thought was that maybe this was a missile, but it was traveling excessively slowly. There was no noise, and we could not see it touchdown anywhere because of the terrain. It was a bright emerald green ball of light, I have never seen anything like it. I am glad my husband saw it, too, because I still cannot believe that what we saw was real. Thank you for your website and the work you do. Thanks to Monica

Grandisland – I was driving down Highway 281 and seen this funnel like shape cloud coming from the ground and working its way higher on January 27, 2016. I stopped and took a picture of it and at that time, it just stayed in the same spot for about a minute. It then started to work its way back up into the sky.

Rachel — For our tenth wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to make the trek to Rachel, since we both love sci-fi and have always wanted to go there. We were between the front and back gate when we saw these clouds so I whipped out my good camera to snap a few shots since the clouds looked cool on May 20, 2012, but the more we look at them and the longer we watched them the more we have become convinced that they were unusual. Gallaway – I was with three other women in a cemetery on November 1, 2015, All Souls Day to take pictures of orbs. I decided to lie down on graves and said I would treat it like a séance. After getting up and walking over to the Bowen graves, we all were taking pictures of orbs, as it’s believed that the veils are thinner this time of the year. We were reviewing our pictures, and mine was different than the others. They had never seen what I captured. I have attached picture. I thought it was ghosts or spirits that only my camera captured. After seeing Steven Greer’s two hour lectures and his pictures this weekend, I realized it could be associated to ETs. My story begins with what seemed to be a very unusual lucid dream on November 22, 2015. In my dream, I found myself standing in the hall bathroom doorway, wondering how I got there. I turned left and saw a “grey”-type looking creature crouching under my dining room table looking at me. I felt what he was feeling instead, as he stared back at me. He was angry. I knew he had been there for a while, and felt his anger towards my observing him. He was short and crouched, naked, with an enlarged head, and skin like bluish sharkskin. ]
He had a pot like belly and wrinkles around his almond eyes. After those first few moments of our encounter, I awoke, and my fiancé jumped awake at the same time to a huge crash in the dining room. He went and checked first and I followed from the bedroom to the dining room. The corner table had smashed to the ground, two legs broken off. It was even stranger that it seemed to be UNDER the dining table. That is when we realized the dining table had moved three feet towards the wall. A tablet controls it and the tablet just said the company name that manufactures it. No buttons worked, nothing on it worked at all. But all windows and doors were secure and locked. We looked outside and to our shock two unusual bright orbs hung ahead from our front door. This then further supported this strange encounter in our home only moments earlier. Cleveland— We were both at The Pier in Lakewood, hoping to catch a beautiful sunrise of the skyline on December 12, 2015. We both are photographers and tend to only notice the scene, not many specifics. When I did my normal photo analysis I found a weird silver stick-like figure by the Key Bank building. So I zoomed in and found that the figure has a metal look to it. I first got other opinions and when even my professors told me “I have no clue what that is” I knew I caught something literally out of this world.
At first, I was a skeptic and thought it was a plane, but there are no wings. I finally smartened up and concluded it was a UFO. On the second photo, there was a little light that shot into the distance. I felt as though there was a different presence while we were both shooting. It was a weird comfort I had up until the object shot off. The photos were documented at 7:15 am. There was cloud cover, which means it was flying too low in the city for a plane. Sight was lost when it shot off towards the lake area. This raises the question, is this a UFO or a USO? We may never know, but my findings could become key. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Cleveland– It is now January 6, 2016, and at 9:00 pm, last evening I looked at the stars in a very clear sky. Then noticed a much larger very bright white and red triangular shaped object. Thought perhaps a satellite. Two hours later, there were at least five triangles. The original one I viewed had changed position, but only slightly. Some seemed to mingled amongst stars, yet stand out in distinct appearance. We are 30 miles from Cleveland. I’ve seen these twice before in the past. Fort Worth — It was 8:24 pm on January 21, 2016, and I went outside to grab something from my car when I noticed something in the sky that looked like a really bright star. Then another one appeared next to it, and at that time my 8 year old son came outside. “I told him to look,” and right as I said that, another one appeared. I then told him to go inside and get his grandma, and when she came outside another one aligned with the previous three. The objects hovered in the same spot for a few minutes and then began to gradually move away.
The objects would still stay in place for the most part when the airplanes would fly by them. The objects seemed to be about 3-4 times the size of the airplanes. We spotted at least 6 different objects all in different areas. Some of the objects were moving and getting brighter, while others faded away. Tacoma — This is the third time my wife and I have seen these lights flashing across the sound. Tonight January 24, 2016, at 7:15 PM, my grandson was with us. We have a view over the Puget Sound. They have come from the same area. It looks like they appear over the water and one flew the same route two years ago. I tried taking video, but they appear like yellow and soft red lights, not blinking like aircraft. They made no sound of any kind. Their flight appears more of a hovering motion unlike aircraft that fly in straight line and emit some type of sound. When they got to the same spot in the sky they went up fast and disappeared. Geelong — It was the size of my thumbnail at arm’s length and looked like an F-16 fighter from behind without the wings. The after burn was flame colored with a very large black rim with no movement at all on November 14, 2004. There was a bit of wind too so it was definitely not a balloon. It hovered dead still for five minutes so I decided to drive closer to it. That’s when it vanished and gave me goose bumps looking at it because I felt it was checking us out. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Cairns – I was smoking a cigarette at the rear patio at 7:20 pm local time, when a brilliant white rapidly blinking light crossed the sky in a northeast direction, with a directional change resembling a snake’s slither on January 30, 2015. The blinking light travelled very quickly, too fast for a satellite pass, then it stopped abruptly, and hovered for a minute or so. The multiple lights, with the brilliance of the strobe seemed to emanate from alternating point, very close to each-other that changed to bright red.
It then descended like a falling leaf, paused, at which time I had to stand on a chair to view over my neighbors’ roof, The object/light then shot off at high speed. My girlfriend was in the shower when I first viewed the object, and I asked her to wrap a towel around herself, and come out to see this thing. She did this, and also witnessed the object. The object was in clear sky at first and hovered long enough for the clouds to draw closer to it. The cloud-base was around 2500 feet. The object was smaller, and closer, than I had at first guessed, because it was just below the clouds before descending. It occurred to me that this might be a drone, but was travell

Chochis Santa Cruz— We walked two kilometers from the Sanctuary of Chochis and saw a light from afar. We went to investigate. To our surprise it was approaching us.

Camrose– On January 23, 2016, around 10:00 pm, we were heading west on Hover Road and off to the northwest we spotted an unusual bright light high in the sky.

Regina — At 4:30 AM, a blinding bright light coming through the blinds of the bedroom window on January 30, 2016 woke me up. This happened to me once before in Switzerland in this exact same scenario. At the time, I woke up and noticed how bright it was, and my dog started to howl. The object seemed to move side to side a tad, but stayed hovering with a pulsing bright light which continued until I got tired and went back to sleep. The moon is currently half full so it was not the moon. The light was so bright it woke me up. In the video you can clearly see the pattern of the brightness changing as it pulses in a pattern. When flying from France on January 20, 2016 on the BA flight from Algiers to London in 2547, I clearly watched a very bright white light, stable, who drew on the front cover as a target (a perfect circle with a dot in the middle). This observation was at 3:45 p.m..
The plane was flying at that moment in the Result Region of Limoges in Central France. The cloud cover was at 1500 meters below the unit. The “target” was at least 300 meters in diameter. It was clear that this target was awesome. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Akwa-Ibom State — Ifot Favou Johnnie writes, “It was said that days after Easter of 2014 in a town in Akwa-Ibom State that an unidentified object came from the sky while the rain was falling at about 21:00 hours.” The bright object came as a light object from the other part of the village in a ship like form.
A bright light entered a house around the village and all the light bulbs exploded. The object passed through a Banana tree, Coconut tree and a Pear tree and in the morning it was found out that the trees where all decayed and dead. The said unidentified object traveled down to the earth and the point where it entered the ground/soil was very soft the next day. Morales de toro (Zamora) – In our family house at 17 hours. I looked at the sky and saw the object the last few seconds before it was hidden in a cloud.

Between Leicester & Derby — I was driving southbound on M-1 approaching Junction 21 on January 15, 2015. There was traffic on the road and travelling about 20 mph. I noticed through my front windscreen an unusual white short sharp trail perhaps 5 mm in length. It looked well over a mile away in the southeast sky. It started as very small white trail with a 45-degree angle. Then the trail seems to change direction going vertical. At this point, I felt that an object was causing this trail as the trail took an upside down very shape appearance. Which looked like it was caused by drag against whatever this object was. All I could see was the trail though and not an object. It then appeared to change direction again by which it looked like it was going back to the left almost like back on itself, which I have never seen before. Poseidonis was the capital of Atlantis. The island continent appeared to sink into the ocean during the Great Deluge mentioned in Genesis 6:5-7,11-13 & 7:17,19-24. Later it was flash frozen due to sudden global crustal displacement where it was covered with ice until the Nazis learned from esoteric Tibetan monks that Antarctica used to be Atlantis during their expedition there from 1938-1939.
The Nazis built Base 211 in Antarctica and started searching for all the flash frozen advanced technology which they tried to retro-engineer until the Americans took over the operation during Operation Highjump.
The Americans then took all the technology found then and later during Operations Deep Freeze with all the occult Nazi scientists back to the U.S.A. to keep retro-engineering all the technology in D.U.M.B.s hidden in the remote desert.

How much do we know about Mars? Or is it “how much we don’t know about it” a better question to ask?
According to several sources, the distant Red Planet meant an important deal to NASA ever since the late 1950s. As the Apollo program was coming to an end, and with the entire population bathed in excitement because of the huge step humanity took towards progress and innovation, the space agency already had bigger plans for the near future.
Apparently, at that time (in 1970s more precisely) NASA focused more on a manned mission to Mars. As crazy as this sounds, it might prove to be true, and here is why: 50 years ago from now, in the summer of 1965, Mariner 4 became the first successful mission to come near the surface of the Red Planet. The photos returned by the space module caused an immense stir among NASA’s personnel, as it revealed never before seen features of the bizarre “red dot” that could be observed from Earth.
What they learned in 1965 made the agency want to send astronauts there ASAP in order to colonize the Red Planet and who knows what other reasons they had. Therefore, NASA secretly funded a project similar to the Apollo missions which they codenamed Project REDSUN. Its aim was apparently to colonize the planet, but after analyzing the case, it seems that they had some other thoughts as well. Is it possible that NASA encountered some form of intelligent life on Mars?
In 1971, one year before the final Apollo mission, Mariner 9 was orbiting Mars and managed to photograph the entirety of its surface, thus providing conclusive images with ancient riverbeds, a 3,000 mile-long grand canyon, gigantic volcanoes, and other artificial-like structures that we can also see for ourselves today.
What seems rather interesting is the fact that NASA had a free hand to operate under the ongoing lunar exploration hysteria. Another curious thing to note is the fact that the agency was overly prepared to send a second mission to Mars, as Richard Zurek, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s leading scientist revealed:
It was a good thing we had other spacecraft ready, as it might have stopped Mars exploration for a while. The pace of exploration would have slowed – we certainly wouldn’t have had anything as ambitious as the mission in 1970s.

It was a planet that seemed similar enough to the Earth that you could imagine it having supported life in the past… We still don’t know for sure if life did develop there.”
In the years that followed, several exploration modules were sent to Mars, probably because of the unimaginable discoveries that were previously unearthed. However, first photos from the actual surface of the planet were taken by the Viking 1 mission and were revealed on July 20, 1976. One day later, the first color picture taken by the Viking 2 lander was available. Considering all the above, we can’t help but wonder what happened between 1970 and 1976, and why the space agency didn’t officially admit the landing of a module on the Martian surface until then?
On August 28, 1973, a secret mission funded by NASA and the US Department of Defense was to depart towards the distant planet Mars under the name of Project Redsun. According to recently leaked documents, the crew consisted of American astronaut Edwin E. “Buzz” Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and a fellow comrade from the USSR named Vladimir Ilyushin.
The video below was supposedly leaked from a collection of 16mm archived footage used in the training of NASA astronauts and Air Force pilots. The video reveals how astronauts aboard a spacecraft considered to be the ISV Columbus, are slowly leaving behind Earth’s view to welcome a new, more dusty sight of planet Mars. Some features of the Red Planet are clearly visible during the orbital flight, including the famous South Pole of Mars.
Mission control was established at Cocoa Beach, Florida and it coordinated Project Redsun’s first three launches. All subsequent missions were relocated and administrated from Area 51.
After the video was made public, people begun to question its authenticity, and as usual, NASA denied any form of implication in a manned mission to Mars, considering the footage to be a ridiculous forgery. While people couldn’t accept the agency’s potential for such a quest, seeing as it was 1970 back then, the above footage didn’t receive too much attention. However, it all changed in April 2011 when more evidence was brought to light by an Italian journalist and UFO researcher Luca Scantamburlo. During a press conference, they presented a testimony revealing the details of project Redsun.
I introduce to you a press-release testimony I have written to discuss the presumed existence of a hush-hush military space program called “Project Redsun”, carried out in the 70s of the last century to build a stationary base on Mars, the Red Planet. My source of information – named by me ‘bravoxsierra24’ – had contacted me by email. It is possible to reproduce the pages of the press release, and the picture here presented as well.
The below documents back up this seemingly crazy but not at all impossible hypothesis of an early manned mission to Mars. If this happened indeed, we can think of so many reasons why NASA would engage in such a secret mission. What could NASA had encountered there? Was there an ancient alien base or did they met with intelligent beings who still inhabit the planet? Considering many other possibilities, the reason might exceed all our earthly expectations, and who knows, maybe one they we will find out. Are we prepared for this kind of disclosure?

An enterprising artist has taken on one of the biggest concepts known to man: the universe.
Pablo Carlos Budassi is drawing eyes across the Internet this week for a dazzling logarithmic visualization of the observable universe that he created and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons in 2013.
The spectacular illustration features our solar system at the very center, followed by "inner and outer planets, Kuiper belt, Oort cloud, Alpha Centauri, Perseus Arm, Milky Way galaxy, Andromeda galaxy, nearby galaxies, Cosmic Web, Cosmic microwave radiation and Big Bang’s invisible plasma on the edge," according to the file’s description on Wikimedia Commons.
In an interview, Budassi told Tech Insider that he was inspired to craft the visualization while drawing hexaflexagons.
"Then when I was drawing hexaflexagons for my sons birthday souvenirs I started drawing central views of the cosmos and the solar system," he told the website. "That day the idea of a logarithmic view came and in the next days I was able to it with Photoshop using images from NASA and some textures created by my own."

Here we have a baby monitor video of an entity standing over the head of the baby. The entity has a tilted head, looking down at the babies face. For an alien to come to a baby, it must have some vested interest in this child. What I mean is, the child may have been implanted with knowledge or abilities beyond that of human understanding.
Its no secret that Australia is a hotbed for UFO sightings. It appears that the aliens in that region are trying to change humanity by implanting certain knowledge and skills that would one day help tilt humanities future into the direction that aliens see as more desirable. Jade Yates, who lives in Barongarook, Victoria, Australia, observed through the creepy video baby monitor, where two figures seem to float above the crib notes, she shared the video on Facebook on 23 January 2016.
AMAZING PHOTO OF A STRANGE GLOWING OBJECT IN BOLIVIA

This happened in the town of Chochis, Santa Cruz, Bolivia. I witnessed this while on holiday. I had already heard stories that these types of things were often seen in the area. After visiting all the places we wanted to, we walked two kilometers from the Sanctuary of Chochis. Here we went to see a farm that belonged to a friend. It was then that we saw a light, at first from afar. It was where he kept his cattle. We went closer to investigate, and then we were surprised to see this light approaching. We called it a machine as you could make out the shape as it flew. This object appeared to vibrate as it went.
We were able to take a couple of pictures quickly with our cell phones. Soon, the object sped up and was gone from sight. We feel that this area warrants much more investigation for UFOs. We will return to see if we find anything else like what we saw this night.
Many paintings between 14th and early 18th century depict different, unusual aerial objects that look very similar to modern-day UFOs at first glance. It’s just normal to wonder why artists in these times appeared to be obsessed with these objects that they included them in scenes surrounding the stories of Jesus Christ’s birth and death.
For example, the mural or fresco from 1350, “The Crucifixion,” at the Visoki Decani Monestary in Kosovo, the unknown artist included two strange-looking objects with apparent pilots in the sky on both sides of Jesus.
The details in the upper right and left portions of the Kosovo fresco may refer to something readily familiar to modern eyes – the sun and the moon. The two celestial bodies are somewhat personified by two crouching figures, creating a man in the moon effect.
The Annunciation with Saint Emidius
Another painting from 1946 “The Annunciation with Saint Emidius,” by Carlo Crivelli, at the National Gallery in London, shows a circular object making a thin beam of light down to the Virgin Mary.
The reasons for this could be the form of symbolism the artists were trying to depict, but why these things crop up in so many works of art from these times.
Computer scientist Jacques Vallee said that “It is true that these paintings don’t represent actual sightings by artists or contemporary events of the scene.” Valle and co-author Chris Aubeck will publish an extensive update to their book “Wonders in the Sky,” which goes in depth into reports of mysterious aerial objects reported by several people starting in 1879, and moving backward to biblical sightings.
Vallee said: “The value of it, scientifically, is that now we can anchor the beginning of theUFO phenomenon into real, documented history.”
“You can’t only say that, because somebody spotted something circular in the sky duringmedieval times, it’s a similar phenomenon that people see today. We are not making that statement. Government corruption was always one of the main themes that played out in the classic television show “X-Files,” and it was typically shown in the form of UFO and alien cover-ups. However, the show’s creator said in a recent interview that the new revival of the series will also touch on some of the more political conspiracies that take place in our world.
X-Files creator Chris Carter said Edward Snowden and issues like the 9/11 conspiracy will be fair game in the new revival of the show. The new series will feature the same classic characters, David Duchovny as Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully.
“A lot of the rights and liberties that were signed away [with the Patriot Act] are being abused now, and no one seems to care,” Carter said.
“We see the admitted spying by the government. These are not things we’re making up and it informs everything Mulder and Scully are doing,” he added.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the new series featured issues like, “war in the Middle East, NSA spying, chem-trails (here called ‘aerial contaminants’), police militarization, supposed FEMA prison camps, and the eventual military ‘takeover of America’ by a UN-like group of ‘multinational elites.’”
“The idea of a New World Order is relevant,” Carter says.
The article states that this elaborate web of conspiracies will tie back to the alien cover-up that took center stage in the older series.
Carter continued, “I’ve kept my finger to the wind and trying to figure out what’s relevant and possible credible. People know the show deals with science and fact and also deals with far-flung theories about not only the supernatural but government conspiracies. It throws out as many questions as it does answers. And I have to say what it’s done for me and the writers it has given us a whole new open field which to run. It’s given the show an interesting new life and context that it might not have had in 2002.”

Results and Discussion
Genetic studies of human mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) show that all present-day non-Africans belong to two basal mtDNA haplogroups (hgs), M and N [10]. The time to the most recent common ancestor (TMRCA) of each of these two clades has been estimated independently at around 50,000 years ago (50 ka) (95% confidence interval [CI], 53–46 ka) and 59 ka (95% CI, 64–54 ka), respectively [11]. However, whereas present-day Asians, Australasians, and Native Americans carry both M and N mtDNA hgs, modern individuals with European ancestry lack almost completely lineages of the M clade [12]. The different spatial distributions and TMRCA estimates of these two ancestral clades have been interpreted as evidence of an early spread of modern humans carrying hg M into Asia, perhaps via a southern route, followed by a later non-African diffusion of the N clade, perhaps via a northern route [7]. However, an alternative model proposes a rapid and single dispersal across Eurasia, with Asia being reached first, whereas Western Eurasia would have been settled only after a hiatus, during which hg M was lost [4].
Little is known about the genetic makeup of the first European hunter-gatherers, who likely arrived ∼45 ka [13], or about the subsequent population dynamics during the nearly 40,000 years spanning from the Late Pleistocene to the Neolithic transition [14]. Here, we reconstructed 35 complete or nearly complete mtDNAs (from 11× to 1,860× average coverage) of ancient modern human individuals from Italy, Germany, Belgium, France, Czech Republic, and Romania, spanning in age from 35 to 7 ka (Figure 1; Table S1). Hybridization capture of mtDNA in combination with high-throughput sequencing technologies [15] allowed us to evaluate typical DNA damage patterns and average fragment length [16] as criteria for authentication of ancient DNA (Supplemental Experimental Procedures). Both features were taken into account in an iterative probabilistic approach [17] that jointly estimates present-day human contamination and reconstructs mtDNA sequences (Table S2). Combining 311 modern and 66 ancient dated worldwide mtDNA genomes (both new and from the literature; Table S3), we used Bayesian phylogenetic methods [18] to estimate the mutation rate and hg coalescence times. Further, we combined our 35 new mtDNA genomes with 20 previously published ancient European mtDNAs for a total of 55 pre-Neolithic sequences (Table S4) and explicitly tested scenarios of the early population history of Europe using coalescent demographic modeling paired with approximate Bayesian computation (ABC) [19] (Supplemental Experimental Procedures).
Hg assignment of the authenticated mtDNAs confirmed that the vast majority of Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene individuals belonged to the U lineage, which is a subgroup of the N clade [20] (Figures 2 and S1). We also found a basal U lineage that had no derived position leading to known sub-hgs in a 33,000-year-old Romanian individual. Surprisingly, three hunter-gatherers from Belgium and France dating to between 35 and 28 ka carried mtDNA hg M, today found predominantly in Asia, Australasia, and the Americas, although it is almost absent in extant populations with European ancestry [12].
We used 66 ancient dated mtDNAs as tip calibration points in BEAST v1.8.1 [18] in combination with 311 modern worldwide mtDNA sequences to reduce the possible impact of sample biases (Table S3 and Supplemental Experimental Procedures) in estimating the mtDNA mutation rate and hg M and N divergence times. Strict and uncorrelated lognormal relaxed clocks were tested, under both a constant size and a Bayesian skyline tree prior. The four analyses returned mtDNA mutation rates (Table 1) consistent with previously published rates using similar methodology [21, 22]. The Bayesian skyline, in combination with strict rate variation among branches, performed best according to stepping-stone and path sampling methods [23] and highest effective sample size (ESS) values, giving a best estimate of the mutation rate of 2.74 × 10−8 (95% highest posterior density [HPD], 2.44–3.01 × 10−8) mutation/site/year. This model allowed us to refine time estimates for the TMRCA of the basal non-African clades M and N of circa 49 ka (95% HPD, 54.8–43.6 ka) and 51 ka (95% HPD, 55.1–46.9 ka), respectively (Table 1; Figure 2; Supplemental Experimental Procedures).

The values reported are obtained in BEAST [18] using 377 worldwide mtDNAs, 66 of which come from ancient dated human remains. A Bayesian skyline tree prior in combination with strict rate variation between branches performed better than the other three tested models according to higher log marginal likelihood estimates (compared to the constant tree prior models) and effective sample size (ESS) values. The observed mtDNA hg variation through time, including the apparent loss of hg M in Europe, suggests a genetic bottleneck that may have been influenced by climatic events (Figure 3). This period of European prehistory was accompanied by severe climatic fluctuations, such as the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM, 25 to 19.5 ka) and, at the end of the Pleistocene, the Bølling-Allerød interstadial followed by the stadial Younger Dryas—a period we refer to as the Late Glacial (14.5 to 11.5 ka) [24, 25]. These climatic changes have been proposed as a driver of the range contraction to refugia in many species [26], including modern humans, for whom there is absence of evidence of northwestern European occupation during the LGM [25, 27]. We used coalescent modeling paired with ABC [19] to test a range of explicit models of European hunter-gatherer demography (Figure S2; Table S6), using the complete set of 55 pre-Neolithic ancient mtDNA genomes (Table S4). The best-fitting model (Figure 3 and 2b inFigure S2) strongly supports maternal population continuity through the LGM, albeit as a single genetic bottleneck, before being replaced by a new incoming population at the onset of the Late Glacial 14.5 ka (model posterior probability,P2b = 0.807). Based on the estimated parameter values of this model (Table S5), we infer that this surviving population diverged from the ancestral one around 29 ka (95% HPD, 36–25 ka), prior to the beginning of the LGM.
The new hunter-gatherer mtDNA genomes reported here approximately triple the available sequences from pre-Neolithic Europe. One novel finding, that three out of 18 European pre-LGM hunter-gatherers carry a previously undescribed basal mtDNA lineage M (Figure 1A), has important implications for the timing of the dispersal of modern humans into Eurasia. Excluding a ∼40,000-year-old Romanian individual known not to have contributed notably to the modern European gene pool [28], our BEAST analyses give a TMRCA for clades M and N from 44 to 55 ka, respectively. Our estimated dates, together with the oldest accepted archeological evidence for the presence of early modern humans in Australia and Europe (both dated to at least 45 ka [13, 29]), are consistent with a model of a single, late, and therefore rapid dispersal of a source population containing both M and N hgs, which contributed all the mitochondrial diversity of present-day non-Africans (cf. [7]). Human individuals whose ancestries trace back to potential earlier expansion(s) outside Africa [30, 31] are thus unlikely to have left any surviving mtDNA descendants.

Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene Climatic Fluctuations and European Hunter-Gatherer Demography

Phylogeographic inference based solely on mtDNA has limitations [2], but information from single loci can provide meaningful constraints on models of human prehistory. In particular, the fact that hg M has never previously been found in Europe is generally interpreted as an important limitation for the proposed scenarios of non-African population dispersals [4, 7]. According to the most popular model [4], an early expansion occurred before the M and N diversification with a subsequent loss of M in only the population ancestral to Europeans. Our evidence for the existence of hg M in Late Pleistocene Europe revises this scenario. It suggests that the loss of hg M may be due to population dynamics that occurred later within Europe itself. The expansion either occurred before the diversification of M and N, with subsequent migration bringing both lineages into Europe, or the dispersal was later, occurring after their TMRCAs. Contrary to recent findings [11], though similar to a previous study [32], our two TMRCAs are almost identically dated, suggesting a single major dispersal after 55 ka for all non-African populations, including Europe. The genetic evidence of pre-LGM hg M indicates that this lineage reached Western Europe by at least 35 ka (GoyetQ116-1), either alongside the first arrival of N or later. The reconstructed phylogeny (Figure 2) with both basal N and M lineages in Late Pleistocene Europe possibly mirrors the inferred back migration into Africa, which has been suggested by the existence of hgs U6 and M1 in modern-day North Africans [33]. Therefore, the major modern human dispersal described here after 55 ka might have affected not only non-Africans, but also African populations to some extent.
The potential impact of climatic events on the demography, and thus the genetic diversity of early Europeans, has previously been difficult to quantify, but it likely had consequences for the relative components of ancient ancestry in modern-day populations [14]. Our demographic modeling reveals a dynamic history of hunter-gatherers, including a previously unknown major population shift during the Late Glacial interstadial (the Bølling-Allerød, ∼14.5 ka). Under our best-fitting model (Figure 3 and 2b in Figure S2), the small initial founder population of Europe slowly grows up until ∼25 ka and survives with smaller size in LGM climatic refugia (25–19.5 ka) [25] before re-expanding as the ice sheets retract (Figure 1B). Although this model supports population continuity from pre- to post-LGM, the genetic bottleneck is consistent with the apparent loss of hg M in the post-LGM. The subsequent Late Glacial period is characterized by drastic climatic fluctuations, beginning with an abrupt warming during the Bølling-Allerød interstadial and followed by a similarly drastic period of cooling during the Younger Dryas [24]. Globally, the early warming phases of the Late Glacial are strongly associated with substantial demographic changes, including extinctions of several megafaunal species [34] and the first expansion of modern humans into the Americas [35]. In European hunter-gatherers, our model best explains this period of upheaval as a replacement of the post-LGM maternal population by one from another source. Although the exact origin for this later population is unknown, the inferred demographic history (Figure 3 and 2b in Figure S2) suggests that it descended from another, separate LGM refugium. On the basis of mtDNA alone, we cannot rule out some degree of genomic continuity throughout the Late Pleistocene and early Holocene hunter-gatherer populations, and thus into present-day Europeans [14]. For this reason, we interpret our model as capturing the maternal signal of a major population shift, rather than a complete replacement. Ancient nuclear DNA data and additional geographically and temporally distributed specimens may provide a more comprehensive picture, possibly identifying the source and ancestry of these later incoming hunter-gatherers.
In conclusion, the large dataset presented here allowed us to provide a late upper bound on the major dispersal of all non-Africans and to uncover unexpected population dynamics of European hunter-gatherers. The Late Glacial event that we identify here is the oldest in an accumulating list of major European population turnovers revealed by ancient mtDNA [20].

DNA evidence lifted from the ancient bones and teeth of people who lived in Europe from the Late Pleistocene to the early Holocene—spanning almost 30,000 years of European prehistory—has offered some surprises, according to researchers who report their findings in the Cell Press journal Current Biology on Feb. 4, 2016. Perhaps most notably, the evidence shows a major shift in the population around 14,500 years ago, during a period of severe climatic instability.
"We uncovered a completely unknown chapter of human history: a major population turnover in Europe at the end of the last Ice Age," says leading author Johannes Krause of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Germany.
The researchers pieced this missing history together by reconstructing the mitochondrial genomes of 35 hunter-gatherer individuals who lived in Italy, Germany, Belgium, France, the Czech Republic, and Romania from 35,000 to 7,000 years ago. Mitochondria are organelles within cells that carry their own DNA and can be used to infer patterns of maternal ancestry.
"There has been a real lack of genetic data from this time period, so consequently we knew very little about the population structure or dynamics of the first modern humans in Europe," Krause says.
The new data show that the mitochondrial DNA of three individuals who lived in present-day Belgium and France before the coldest period in the last Ice Age—the Last Glacial Maximum—belonged to haplogroup M. This is remarkable because the M haplogroup is effectively absent in modern Europeans but is extremely common in modern Asian, Australasian, and Native American populations.

The absence of the M haplogroup and its presence in other parts of the world had previously led to the argument that non-African people dispersed on multiple occasions to spread across Eurasia and Australasia. The researchers say the discovery of this maternal lineage in Europe in the ancient past now suggests instead that all non-Africans dispersed rapidly from a single population, at a time they place around 50,000 years ago. Then, at some later stage, the M haplogroup was apparently lost from Europe.
"When the Last Glacial Maximum began around 25,000 years ago, hunter-gatherer populations retreated south to a number of putative refugia, and the consequent genetic bottleneck probably resulted in the loss of this haplogroup," explains first author of the study Cosimo Posth of Germany's University of Tübingen.
The researchers say their biggest surprise, however, was evidence of a major turnover of the population in Europe around 14,500 years ago, as the climate began to warm. "Our model suggests that during this period of climatic upheaval, the descendants of the hunter-gatherers who survived through the Last Glacial Maximum were largely replaced by a populationfrom another source," says Adam Powell, another senior author at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History.
The researchers say the next step is to construct a more comprehensive picture of the past by analyzing the complete genomes of these ancient individuals along with additional specimens representing more times and places.

Apollo astronaut and the sixth man to walk on the moon, Dr. Edgar Mitchell has died at the age of 85.
In 1971, Mitchell piloted the Apollo 14 mission which landed on the moon, earning him a myriad of awards including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and a place in the Science Hall of Fame.
Mitchell differed from most of his fellow astronauts due to his strong advocacy for the reality of UFOs and extraterrestrials.
Although he did not see a UFO during his space travels, Mitchell believed the evidence for the phenomenon was overwhelming.
He was also an ardent researcher of consciousness and the nature of psychic phenomena, founding the exceptional Institute for Noetic Sciences in 1973.
Mitchell's contributions towards the understanding and acceptance of paranormal phenomena cannot be understated and all students of the unexplained owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude.
