Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

Astronomers using NASA data calculate that in our galaxy alone there are at least 8.8 billion Earth-sized planets that are not too hot or not too cold and circle stars that are just like our sun, according to a study published Monday.
WASHINGTON — Space is vast, but it may not be so lonely after all: A study finds the Milky Way is teeming with billions of planets that are about the size of Earth, orbit stars just like our sun, and exist in the Goldilocks zone — not too hot and not too cold for life.
Astronomers using NASA data have calculated for the first time that in our galaxy alone, there are at least 8.8 billion stars with Earth-size planets in the habitable temperature zone.
The study was published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
For perspective, that's more Earth-like planets than there are people on Earth.
As for what it says about the odds that there is life somewhere out there, it means "just in our Milky Way galaxy alone, that's 8.8 billion throws of the biological dice," said study co-author Geoff Marcy, a longtime planet hunter from the University of California at Berkeley.
The next step, scientists say, is to look for atmospheres on these planets with powerful space telescopes that have yet to be launched. That would yield further clues to whether any of these planets do, in fact, harbor life.
The findings also raise a blaring question, Marcy said: If we aren't alone, why is "there a deafening silence in our Milky Way galaxy from advanced civilizations?"
In the Milky Way, about 1 in 5 stars that are like our sun in size, color and age have planets that are roughly Earth's size and are in the habitable zone where life-crucial water can be liquid, according to intricate calculations based on four years of observations from NASA's now-crippled Kepler telescope.

If people on Earth could only travel in deep space, "you'd probably see a lot of traffic jams," Bill Borucki, NASA's chief Kepler scientist, joked Monday.
The Kepler telescope peered at 42,000 stars, examining just a tiny slice of our galaxy to see how many planets like Earth are out there. Scientists then extrapolated that figure to the rest of the galaxy, which has hundreds of billions of stars.
For the first time, scientists calculated — not estimated — what percent of stars that are just like our sun have planets similar to Earth: 22 percent, with a margin of error of plus or minus 8 percentage points.
Kepler scientist Natalie Batalha said there is still more data to pore over before this can be considered a final figure.
There are about 200 billion stars in our galaxy, with 40 billion of them like our sun, Marcy said. One of his co-authors put the number of sun-like stars closer to 50 billion, meaning there would be at least 11 billion planets like ours.
Based on the 1-in-5 estimate, the closest Earth-size planet that is in the habitable temperature zone and circles a sun-like star is probably within 70 trillion miles of Earth, Marcy said.
And the 8.8 billion Earth-size planets figure is only a start. That's because scientists were looking only at sun-like stars, which are not the most common stars.
An earlier study found that 15 percent of the more common red dwarf stars have Earth-size planets that are close-in enough to be in the not-too-hot, not-too-cold Goldilocks Zone.
Put those together and that's probably 40 billion right-size, right-place planets, Marcy said.
And that's just our galaxy. There are billions of other galaxies.
Scientists at a Kepler science conference Monday said they have found 833 new candidate planets with the space telescope, bringing the total of planets they've spotted to 3,538, but most aren't candidates for life.
Kepler has identified only 10 planets that are about Earth's size circling sun-like stars and are in the habitable zone, including one called Kepler 69-c.
Because there are probably hundreds of planets missed for every one found, the study did intricate extrapolations to come up with the 22 percent figure — a calculation that outside scientists say is fair.
"Everything they've done looks legitimate," said MIT astronomer Sara Seager.

It has long been held to be one of the most famous UFO incidents of the 20th century, if not of all time. Due to its popularity, a variety of opinions and interpretations about what happened in Rendlesham Forest in late December, 1980, have been offered; and the result has been a seemingly never-ending source for controversy within the UFO research community. Despite the varied opinions, which draw from various testimonies given by those who claim to have been directly involved, the latest evidence forthcoming may suggest that corroborative data about the incident was obtained via radar operators at nearby RAF Bentwaters, near Suffolk, England. (For more information on the details involving the well-known Rendlesham UFO incident, As reported in the UK’s Express, “The new claims… appear to back up those made by Mr Holt last July when he appeared at a Rendlesham UFO conference, in Woodbridge, Suffolk, to mark the 35th anniversary of the sighting last July.” Halt had previously told the BBC that “he saw unidentified objects at Rendlesham Forest in December 1980,” and subsequently claimed that he had obtained “statements from radar operators at RAF Bentwaters and nearby Wattisham airfield that an unknown object was tracked at the time.” The evidence is presented in a new documentary film by veteran UFO researcher Robert Hastings, whose previous work has involved reports of UFO sightings related to nuclear facilities around the world. Hastings managed to locate the radar operators that claimed to have observed an object on their radars which coincided with the testimony given by Charles Halt and others on the ground, who observed an unusual aircraft in Rendlesham Forest.
According to Jim Carey, one of the two operators in question:
“I was just sitting there and I happened to see a dot come on the scope, and it just went one dot in the beginning, and another dot, another dot, and it was gone. All of a sudden, here it come back across again. It went one, two and then an immediate right hand turn and came right towards the base. I just said that can’t be one of ours. No jet at that speed can make an immediate right hand turn. Just absolutely phenomenal.”
Ike Barker, another radar operator who says he tracked the object, supplied the following similar information:
“When the sweep would hit the target, you would have the entire back of it would be like a solid line. Traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, it passed over the control tower and then it stopped. I’ve never seen anything in my life like the maneuverability that happened with this object…. There were lights around the center of it, but it wasn’t like running lights or navigational lights. It was more like portholes, and you were seeing the light from the inside coming out. It wasn’t flashing lights or anything. It hovered momentarily, reversed its course, and went back out at a high rate of speed.”
The testimony Barker provides seems to describe something akin to a sphere (at one point, he even remarked that the thought had crossed his mind someone “was flying a basketball” in the area). The object described by Halt and the others had been triangular; however, Halt has also suggested that he believed there may be evidence the triangle he and the others observed could have been a drone or some other variety of “scout” aircraft, associated with a larger “mothership” located elsewhere. Will the new testimony collected by Robert Hastings and those associated with the initial Rendlesham Forest incident indeed shed new light on the case, or will it only present evidence which calls for further questions? Perhaps at very least, the ongoing evidence pertaining to this case will help lend to the veracity of those who say they observed unusual aerial phenomenon in the vicinity of Suffolk, England, in December of 1980.

Boyfriend was driving south on Rt. 11 from Watertown to Adams. At about 11:45ish we saw lights on the road up ahead and the picture just didn’t make sense to us. At first it looked to me like maybe a fire truck up ahead or something but the closer we got the less sense the image we were seeing made. We continued in their direction, and came up on them fast, within seconds. They were in fact closer to us than I thought, maybe a quarter mile from where we first noticed the lights. We had to slow down fast or we would have driven right underneath and past them. Boyfriend came to a stop so these things were drifting across the road right in front of us. We were driving south on Rt. 11 so they were drifting across the road in a south/west direction, and right over the road in front of us they turned around and drifted back the direction they had been coming from; north/east. Because they turned around in front of us we got to see just about every angle of these things except the top, so it was not an optical illusion and we could tell how close they were to each other and to us. We saw them up close, clearly, and in 3D. It was dark, but there were street lights and our headlights and they had blinking lights, red and white only, the whole time we saw them. I had turned off the heat and radio as we came upon them, and I immediately stuck my head right out the window for the best angle, and two things struck me right away. First; the silence. They made no noise that I could detect above the noise of our vehicle, which is not loud. Second; their proximity to each other. They were so close together I would think they would be bumping into each other. When they turned around I thought we were going to witness a crash, they were only a few feet from each other. And they never split up when they were in our sights, but they moved independently, not like they were attached. The craft were about the size of limousines, lazily floating over the road not far above the telephone polls.
They were both triangular, but they were not the same. One was a wider triangle, like you might picture a military drone or something, but the other one was a skinny pointy triangle. Both had, I believe, red blinking lights in the front corner on the bottom, and white blinking lights on the side corners on the bottom. Besides being triangular in shape and the lights, they were completely featureless, at least from the bottom and sides. Just perfect triangles, no other angles or patterns at all. Just black. Like even any drones I look up that belong to any military or even anything out of popular science, nothing I’ve seen is a perfect triangle like that, they all have some other angles, discernable wings, engines, something.
They were both like that, exactly the same except for the shape of the triangle. We were so close that if there was any other detail to notice in their shape, we would have seen it. We should have been able to see detail but it was just their outlines, the lights, and flat matte black. There were stars out and they blocked their light, blocked the lighter color of the horizon behind them. There was no light reflecting off them, and there should have been. There were all these lights like I said, and not one glimmer of a reflection off any part of them. And the lights that came off them were bright but not blinding; there was no glare, even so close. And my eyes have a problem with glare and bright lights. But not these. After they turned around and we just gawked for what seemed like minutes but must have been seconds, a spotlight shown coming from the side of I THINK the skinny one, right off the tip of the wing or side corner of the triangle. It shown in our direction but I think it shown over us not right on us… and then they were drifting over the trees back in the direction they seemed to have come from. I told Boyfriend to hurry up and chase them and not to lose them. I kept my eyes on them and could see the lights through the trees, directed Boyfriend where to go, but I lost them through the trees. I could see them and then they were just nowhere. Boyfriend took a route that should have cut them off if they had continued their speed and direction, and we drove around with my head out the moon roof searching and finding hilltops to search the horizons, but nothing, they were gone. Then we drove around looking for a cop car but wouldn’t you know it when you actually need one they are nowhere to be found. We finally gave up and went home and I think it was close to 1am. I was determined to alert authorities. I knew they wouldn’t exactly believe us, or do anything about it, but I just wanted it on record, wanted someone to know that happened, and I’m just so curious, and I was hoping that we wouldn’t be the only ones! I figured they would get more calls, more reports. I thought with them being right above the ground and apparently in no hurry, someone else around must have noticed something. Its a rural area but right smack in between Adams and Adams Center. I called the Jefferson County police but the state troopers showed up first. The troopers said they would check around with Fort Drum and stuff and were nice but obviously didn’t take it very seriously, which is the best I really expected… I’m just hoping something else turns up… I want some more news… Even if it isn’t extra terrestrial drones or something, it still had to be some sort of secret technology or something that not many people have witnessed, and that’s still amazing to me. Going about normal everyday life feels so weird now… like I’m the only one freaking out inside about this… I’m thankful for the experience but I hope someone else out there experiences it too. I’m so glad Boyfriend was there to witness it too, but I just can’t stop thinking about it and I think he just wants to forget it. I can’t and don’t want to. I want to know more.
De planeet Mars staat deze weken dicht bij de aarde. De afstand is op 30 mei het kleinst: bijna 76 miljoen kilometer. Daardoor is Mars goed te zien. Bij zonsondergang staat de planeet in het zuidoosten als een felgele stip aan de hemel. Tot half juni blijft hij zo dichtbij.
De laatste keer dat Mars zo dichtbij kwam, was in augustus 2003. Toen was de afstand zelfs nog kleiner: minder dan 56 miljoen kilometer, de kleinste afstand in duizenden jaren.
STERRENKUNDEEen ster die stilaan de geest geeft, verwoest alles in zijn nabijheid. Maar voor planeten die zich veel verder bevinden, kan dat net een heel ander proces in gang zetten, suggereert nieuw onderzoek van het Carl Sagan Institute. Want waar ooit enkel ijs regeerde, zou door de temperatuurstijging plots leven mogelijk zijn.

Sterren, zoals ook onze zon, hebben geen eeuwig leven. Wanneer ze zonder energie komen te zitten, zakt de kern langzaam in, waardoor de temperatuur stijgt. Daardoor zet de rest van de ster uit om een 'reus' te creëren. Daarbij slokt de uitdijende ster nabijliggende planeten op. Toch is dat geen slecht nieuws voor verdergelegen planeten. Want sommigen van hen - momenteel ijskoude, diepgevroren werelden - krijgen plots de ideale voorwaarden en temperatuur om leven op gang te brengen.
Kan dat wat concreter? Wel, in het geval van onze zon zal dat proces binnen zowat 7,5 miljard jaar van start gaan. De zon zal 200 keer groter worden en van Mercurius en Venus zal geen sprake meer zijn. Onze aarde houdt het nog uit, maar is dan compleet onleefbaar geworden. Veel verder weg, rond Saturnus en Jupiter, cirkelen manen als Enceladus en Europa die veel ijs bevatten. Een hetere zon zou daar op dat moment het perfecte klimaat kunnen creëren voor nieuwe levensvormen.
Of we dat niet al eerder hadden kunnen bedenken? Tuurlijk, maar dat bleef tot dusver theoretisch. Het was nog de vraag of die 'leefbare' tijdspanne in de praktijk groot genoeg zou zijn. Een planeet moet namelijk miljarden jaren in het zogenaamde 'Goudlokjegebied' - warm genoeg om vloeibaar water te hebben, maar niet zo heet dat water verdampt - gedijen om ook echt het lange proces van het ontstaan van leven mogelijk te maken.
Blijkt nu van wel, zo berekenden onderzoekers van het Carl Sagan Institute: de planeten rond de grootste stervende sterren - rode reuzen genoemd - zouden zich tot 200 miljoen jaar in een leefbare zone kunnen bevinden. Maar voor kleinere rode reuzen, die minder snel en heet opbranden, kan die periode voor planeten in dat Goudlokjegebied gerokken worden tot 9 miljard jaar. Dat is ongeveer twee keer de leeftijd van onze eigen aarde. Lees: lang genoeg om een levensvorm te doen ontstaan en evolueren op zo'n ijzige planeet.
In ons zonnestelsel hebben verre ijzige werelden ongeveer een half miljard jaar de tijd om te evolueren tot leefbare planeten. Onze aarde zal tegen dan een bloedheet niemandsland zijn geworden.
Op zoek naar leefbare planeten
De onderzoekers hebben nu ook een lijst van 23 rode reuzen opgesteld die minder dan 100 lichtjaren van de aarde verwijderd zijn. Die zijn volgens hen de ideale doelwitten om op zoek te gaan naar leefbare planeten.
Belangrijk detail wel: de aanwezigheid van een planeet in het Goudlokjegebied rond een ster wil niet zeggen dat er zeker en vast leven zal zijn (kijk maar naar Mars). Dat is onder meer ook afhankelijk van de juiste atmosfeer.
De wetenschappers geven verder toe dat ze nog helemaal niet kunnen inschatten wat een rode reus precies doet met de atmosfeer van nabije planeten. Als die die atmosfeer vernietigt, blijft er van dit onderzoek niet veel meer over. Ook de gevolgen voor de baan van de planeet moet mee in rekening genomen worden. Want als een ster een rode reus wordt, vermindert zijn aantrekkingskracht op de planeten eromheen.

Maar het is veelbelovend onderzoek, zo zegt co-auteur Lisa Kaltnenegger aanSpace.com. "Het is de eerste keer dat we het model van een ster aan het model van een planeet linken en bekijken wat er gebeurt. Mensen blijven maar zeggen: 'Wanneer onze zon een grote, hete ster wordt, moeten we naar Mars of elders verhuizen'. Maar als je toch wilt gaan planeethoppen, moet je wel weten wanneer je precies op welke plek moet zijn. Dat hebben we nu voor het eerst uitgevogeld."

A certain tourist visiting the Medieval Citadel church in Transylvania has left puzzled by the mysterious object in a 400-year-old masterpiece. This place has burnt down twice since it was built. The art adorns the 13th-century monetary wall. However, manager Nicolae Tescula thinks that the strange unidentified object could be the perspective of the artist in connection with heaven’s representation. According to Tescula, the image portrays a less representative or a secondary role, and the church is Evangelical. He believes that Elijah’s presumption to Heaven can lead to a modern representation that people might think it is a UFO. He added that many people believe it is an alien, but in fact, it is an artist’s vision.
According to Romania Insider, the interior decoration of the church includes some other artworks to prevent this from happening. According to the witness, before the object was lost, it moved for three to four minutes.

The orb once again breaks a few moments later, but instead of two, it splits into three this time, with two lights shooting down to the ground.
The witness exclaims an excitement of the incredible sight. Among enthusiasts on YouTube, the footage has provoked countless of excitements. Since the footage is clearer compared to others, people appreciated it. It could be that advanced beings are existing in the universe, but it appears that people should not worry too much; otherwise they are clouding their minds and hearts with irrational fears of the unknown. The thought that there might be other civilizations in the universe should be the reason of excitement—not fear. If they are out there, they are probably much like us in a spiritual sense, at the very least.

A significant step towards full disclosure will happen very soon as the public debate on the existence of UFOs and aliens with the involvement of former government ministers will be held next month.
Canada has an unprecedented number of UFO sightings and in response to it, the first Canadian National Public Hearing on UFOs is being organized. The inquiry also hopes to get the truth about the 1947 Roswell UFO incident once again.
In 2015 alone, the country received 1,267 incidents involving UFOs.
The major event on June 25, 2016, Saturday, in Brantford, Ontario is to address and investigate the mystery.
A Paul Hellyer-led Canadian research and development team has been formed to organise the important event. Hellyer is a member of the Queen’s Privy Council, former Minister of Defence, and Deputy Prime Minister.
Mr Hellyer is considered as the highest-ranking ex-government official to acknowledge the ET existence and the global cover-up.
According to the spokesman for the research and development team, the panel is composed of elite individuals. They are prepared to present unimpeachable evidence not only the truth about UFO phenomenon, but also the fact that it has been discussed, analysed, investigated, and kept secret from the public at the highest levels of governance on Earth.
Internationally-acclaimed experts are expected to present their case in support to the existence of extraterrestrials, the UFO truth, and what world governments – White House, Pentagon, NORAD, and Vatican – know about the subject matters.

The findings of NASA's MMS mission have been published, and they detail the fundamental processes that occurs when there is magnetic reconnection, and how we managed to capture this event.
MAGNETIC RECONNECTION
Back in 2015, NASA launched four spacecraft known as Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS). Their job was to study the magnetic fields around Earth to gain information on how they connect and disconnect. Now, the mission is getting its first results, with initial observations having been published in the journal Science.
To break this down a bit, the mission was sent to space to find areas where magnetic reconnection occurs. This is a process that converts magnetic energy to kinetic or thermal energy. It occurs during solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and when solar winds interact with the Earth’s magnetic field sans solar storm.
When two sets of magnetic fields connect, an explosive reaction occurs: As the magnetic fields realign and snap into a new formation, they send particles zooming off in jets. This is magnetic reconnection. And since solar winds have their own magnetic fields, when they reach Earth and hit the magnetosphere, magnetic reconnection occurs.
NASA sent up the satellites to witness this phenomenon. Before, all that could be seen was the particles that zoom off after the filed collide, much like seeing the debris flung out from a tornado, but we’ve never seen the storm itself.
SPACE WEATHER
By having the MMS mission, NASA was able to observe one of the fundamental forces of nature. On Oct. 16, 2015, the spacecraft traveled straight through a magnetic reconnection event. In only a few seconds, the total of 100 sensors collected thousands of observations, including how the magnetic and electric fields changed, as well as the speeds and direction of the various charged particles.
But why collect the information?
Well, such information helps map out the details of our space environment — crucial information as we journey ever farther beyond our home planet. The phenomenon also affects the “space weather” found in the Earth’s magnetosphere. Better understanding of the phenomenon allows NASA to improve its predictions for magnetic reconnection and, as a result, better control its equipment in space.

A meteor lit up the night sky over New England and eastern Canada early on Tuesday, startling people who saw it including police officers who captured the show on a dashcam.
A bright light streaked across the sky shortly after 12:50 a.m. ET (0450 GMT) over states extending from Pennsylvania to Maine, according to the American Meteor Society. It was also captured on some security cameras.
About 100 tons of dust and sand-sized particles known as meteorites enter the Earth's atmosphere each day, though most are too small to be noticed, according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
The Portland, Maine, police department posted a video showing the meteor as videotaped by the dashboard camera of a patrol car. One of the officers could be heard exclaiming, "Oh, my God!"
The airport in Burlington, Vermont, captured the show on a security camera.
NASA estimates that a meteor about the size of a car enters the Earth's atmosphere on average once a year, producing an impressive fireball that burns up before reaching the ground.

Georgia, one of the most ancient and beautiful countries in the world, is situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The name of the country is Sakartvelo in the Georgian language. Georgia is a mountainous country bordered by the Russian Federation in the north.
The 17th century was full of hardships and suffering for the people of Georgia. But indomitable Georgians rose up to liberate Georgia from the Safavid dynasty of Persia and the Ottoman Empire of Turkey, on a number ofoccasions.

Western Georgia belonged to the Osman Ottoman by the terms of the 1639 treaty. Akhaltsikhe is a small city in Georgia’s southwestern region (mkhare) of Samtskhe-Javakheti. The city has been around for at least 800 years, and was a regional administrative center for the Ottomans from the 16th century up to the Russo-Turkish War.
Deacon Zakaria Sarkawagi was a churchman and Armenian historian. He was known as Zakaria of Kanaker, for he was born in 1626 in the village of Kanaker, now a suburb of Yerevan; he died in 1699 in a monastery of Hovhannavank (in the present-day Armenia). His writings dealt with the socioeconomic history of the Ottoman Empire in the second half of the 17th century and describe the wars between the Safavids and the Ottomans in Armenia and Mesopotamia. His manuscripts are kept in Yerevan, in the Matenadaran Archives. Sarkawagi’s writings were published in 1870, Zakaria Sarkawagi patmagrut’iwn (Chronicle). Khronika, translated by M. Darbinian-Melikian (Moscow, 1969) was the Russian translation based on all available manuscripts.

Mikhail Gershtein, the foremost UFO researcher in Russia today, has mentioned two works of Sarkawagi that contain fascinating descriptions of UFOs (Mikhail Gerstein, Po tu storonu NLO, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2002). He referred to the article published in the extremely popular Soviet magazine Tekhnika-Molodyozhi(Issue 6, 1991), where a number of articles about UFOs, ancient astronaut hypothesis, and paranormal phenomena had been published by its audacious editors during the scant, less ideologically rigid periods of the Soviet era.
The article, titled Kamennaya letopis’ vtorzheniy was written by Akop Tonakanyan, the Chairman of the Ufology Commission of Yerevan, and Vadim Orlov, the science writer for Tekhnika-Molodyozhi. It mentioned two manuscripts of Zakaria Sarkawagi.
One was titled Regarding the fall of light from the sky, and the other manuscript was titled About heavenly signs in the sky.
The first one contains description of a phenomenon that Zakaria Sarkawagi observed in 1641.
“In the day the cross was erected, he wrote, during the sunset, it was not dark yet, and the daylight continued. Suddenly, the ether on the eastern side exploded, and descending was a large and blue light. Wide and long, it descended to approach the Earth, and its light illuminated everything around, brighter than the Sun. And the front part of the light rotated like a wheel, moving to the north, red and white (sic), and in front of the light, at the distance of an open palm (of a hand-P.S.) was a star, the size of Venus. My father sand, crying, six sharakans; the light was still visible, but later departed and became invisible, and we heard later that this wonderful light was observed in Akhaltsikhe.”
In the other manuscript, About heavenly signs in the sky, Zakaria Sarkawagi described a mysterious phenomenon from 1679.
“One night everyone saw in the air something [that looked] like a staff and spear. The ends were like those of a lance. They began to turn gradually east and west. This lasted for 20 days, and then quickly disappeared. After that a star appeared; a very large one, of yellow color, with long and bulky hair that pointed to the west. And the hair radiated and like sparks fell on the ground. This lasted for a month and two days. [The star] never moved from the spot, was visible sometimes in the evening, sometimes in the morning, and sometimes at night, but later would disappear.”
Perhaps there are more observations about the mysterious spear-shaped UFOs scattered throughout ancient manuscripts.
UFOs over Russia
The most famous UFO sighting in the ancient Russian history occurred during the reign of Czar Alexey. Yuri Roszius and other Russian researchers of the paranormal phenomena have studied it extensively. The event occurred “in the year 171” (that is, the year 7171 from “the creation of the world”). It corresponds to the year 1663 C.E.
The details of this amazing and enigmatic event have been preserved because of the efforts of the Archaeographic Commission. It published a collection of its Historical Acts in 1842. Among these acts was an authentic 17th century document. It was signed by Ivan (Ivashko) Rzhevsky, a “laborer“; a report to his “masters” about something that had happened 10 versts from their Loza monastery estate. A verst is approximately 3500 feet. Here is an account of the event, translated to contemporary terms.
On August 15, 1663, between 10 a.m. and noon, local time, a “great noise” resounded over Robozero Lake, located in the Vologda Region; about 50 kilometers southwest of Belozersk. From the north, out of the clear sky appeared a huge flaming sphere no less than 40 meters in diameter.

From its fore part emitted two “flame” beams, about “20 sazhens ahead of it” (i.e. around 40 meters; asazhen is 2.13 meters). From its sides poured blue smoke. This huge ball of fire, its height like that of a modern 15-story building, hovered over the lake.
The phenomenon was observed by a multitude of people. It was the day of the Assumption, and villagers from all of nearby villages gathered for Mass at the parish church, situated on the lake shore. The “great noise” occurred just as the prayer singing had begun. Terrified by this noise, the people emerged from the church to the vestibule, but upon seeing the “frightful sight” they went back into the church and “prayed to the Lord and the Virgin Mary with tears and weeping,” whereupon “the great flame and the two smaller ones vanished.” However, soon after “the fiery flame” again appeared over the lake, somewhat to the west, “about half a versta (approximately 1750 feet) from the spot where it had vanished.”

Its appearance was just as unexpected as the first time and it had “dimmed.” A little later the same body, seemingly becoming even brighter and more terrifying, reappeared another half kilometer to the west, and then, moving westward, it dimmed and disappeared from view.
The “flame” hovered over Robozero for about an hour and a half. The lake is quite small, its size “two versts long and about one wide.” Peasants were sailing in a boat in the lake at the time, but the scorching heat did not let them come closer. They saw that light from the unknown object penetrated the water, and reached the bottom of the lake that was “about four sazhens down.” They observed “fish fleeing from the flame towards the shore.” And where the flame touched the water, appeared a brown film of oxide on the surface, resembling rust (“just like rust”); it was later dispersed by wind.
Ivan Rzhevsky was an educated and intelligent man, as his observations reveal quite clearly. He went as far as to check out the testimony of an eyewitness, a peasant by the name of Levko Fedorov. He also received written confirmation from the local priests that “such a sign was observed on that date;” only then did Rzhevsky report the occurrence to his superiors. The Russian author provides a detailed description of the phenomenon, but does not offer any subjective interpretation of it.
Others tried to interpret the Robozero Phenomenon. Russian astronomer D. Svyatski, in his book “Astronomical phenomena in Russian chronicles (Petrograd, 1915),” claims that the eyewitnesses saw pieces of a meteorite that flew apart after an explosion. How could the people in the boat approach a hovering body? Some have tried to explain it as a ball lightning. But there was no storm and no rain that day. A lightning’s life span is short. Its diameter is not larger than a meter, certainly never 40 meters. Then, there were two rays that emitted from the body. Ball lightning does not emit rays.

Yuri Roszius analyzed Rzhevsky’s report. His detailed analysis included the study of one interesting episode related by eyewitnesses. The document notes a change in the outer appearance of the object: an increase in its brightness when it came into view for the third time. For some reason this change preceded the start of the object’s progressive movement westward. In modern times, such increase in brightness could be attributed to the firing a cruise engines (increase in its trust). Is it by chance that the object’s brightness increased before its departure?
The Robozero Phenomenon did not really end in 1663. An expedition was sent to the area in the summer of 1982. It was headed by Candidate of Science (Physics and Mathematical Sciences), E. Gorshkov. He was also the science secretary of the Leningrad Commission for Anomalous Phenomena of the Geographic Society of the USSR; and manager of the Magnetic and Ionosphere laboratory of the Leningrad division of the Institute of Earth Magnetism, Ionosphere and Distribution of Radio Waves of the Soviet Academy of Sciences(IZMIRAN).
This Institute had actively participated in the SETKA, the secret UFO research program from 1978 through 1991, sanctioned by Soviet government.

The expedition had explored the area with special magnetometric equipment (instrument for measuring the magnitude and direction of a magnetic field). They discovered anomalous changes in the geomagnetic filed in the areas of hypothetical flight trajectory of the object (where it reportedly hovered and radiated). Such changes may be related to powerful electromagnetic influence of the low-flying object on strata of lake sediments.
Characteristics of “magnetic memory” of the sedimentary matter ensured that the traces of such influence were preserved. The 1982 research had confirmed not only the objective reality of the Robozero Phenomenon (according to Gherman Kolchin, former Soviet military officer, Russian writer and UFO researcher) but also its high energy content.
A Portuguese witness at Faro who is a pilot reported a cross-shaped UFO crossing the sky, according to Case 74679 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was outside near his home at 3 p.m. on September 13, 2015, when the incident occurred.
“The Algarve, Portugal, sighting was a clear UFO,” the witness stated. “I am using aviation phrases to describe conditions. I am flying for more than 15 years.”

The witness described the object.
“No noise, no directional change, straight line path flying over the coastline on approximately track 270 magnetic course. The sun at the day in early September was shining bright conditions CAVOK. From the side where the sun lighted the object it was white and had a shape like a Katana micro plane – the school two-seater, but was built up in two levels. On the backside there raged out a hockey stick-like aileron which was not moving.”
The witness reviewed the object’s position and ground speed.
“The object was flying direction west parallel to the eastwards right-hand upwind of FAO airport (the usual commercial outbound) routing. This means against the direction of commercial traffic and a bit above the route. The object was moving with approximately 250 KTS steadily.”

The witness tried to keep the object in sight as it moved.
“As I ran behind the next building to follow it up, it was out of my sight at approximately 60 degrees angle from the horizon directly over the city center of Quarteira, Portugal, direction Albufeira.”
The witness is certain the object was nothing he has ever seen.
“Conclusion: We have a small house in the area which I have been visiting since 25 years. In this time there I have never witnessed such an object flying in the area. Also there was sure no educated pilot in charge, because flying an object in a departure area of an international airport would be suicidal.”
Monique Lessan for MUFON International investigated and closed this case as an Unknown. The case was reported to MUFON on February 23, 2016.
“The ceiling and visibility was okay,” Lessan wrote in her report. “This means that in a range of 10 nautical miles around the spot there wasn’t any clouds or cloud ceiling up to 10,000 feet/ground. According to the witness, the object came from the east and headed straight towards the west in steady altitude. No position lights, no noise, no glow– nothing.The witness stated that as it passed over the building to the left of the umbrella, he was running around the house, to follow it up, but he couldn’t find the object anymore in the sky.The witness was stunned! The witness said that the object was flying either really high or it wasn’t so large, but he could clearly see it with his eyes. If he wasn’t watching the sky or if his eyes were not good, he wouldn’t have accidentally seen the object. The witness also thought if it was the ISS, a Satellite or similar, but those kind of objects, you wouldn’t be able to see it in such bright daylight with naked eyes.”

The investigator concluded the case.
“The witness appears to be professional and reliable. Having been a long time pilot – over 15 years – he is very specific with his calculation and conclusions. After my investigation I came to conclude the disposition of UAV.”
Faro is a municipality, southernmost city and seat of the district of the same name, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, population 64,560.

A Louisiana witness near Bossier City reported watching and videotaping an “unknown, cylinder-shaped object” that appeared to be followed by a jet near an Air Force base, according to testimony in Case 66602 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside at a local Air Force base working as a civilian housekeeper and happened to look up at 7:53 p.m. on June 3, 2015.
“I watched this cylinder-shaped object slowly cruise across the sky as if it was just gliding slowly,” the witness stated.“I’ve never seen anything like this.”
But there was another object in the sky.
“Right behind it was clearly a jet or an airplane I don’t know which but it had a stream coming from behind it. It was following the object at a steady pace, never getting too close.I caught most of it on video with my phone. I put my phone away because we’re not supposed to have them.”

The witness watched as the object moved away.
“As I watched for the next few minutes, the further the object got, it got smaller until it looked like a bright star and then it just vanished, leaving nothing there but the jet.”
Later that evening, the witness said that there was heavy military traffic in the air.
“Moments later as I stood there looking in amazement, a military patrol car passed by, so I went on with my work. I had been working there since April of this year but that evening there was heavy air traffic after the event. I couldn’t help but wonder if the two have something to do with each other because I had never seen that much air traffic over the base since I worked there. Shortly after I was fired and told they didn’t have to give me a reason why they were letting me go.”

Here is something you don't see everyday, a meteorite thats been carved into a human skull. Often I wonder about the material that makes up these metal meteorites...are they normal, or could some of them be made from nano technology? Not all of course, but there is always a chance of such things. Also note, that the crystal pattern is only seen in meteorites and not seen on minerals on Earth. Government and military secrets can range from terrifying to amusing to downright absurd, but most are nothing short of intriguing. From a secret U.S. Air Force project to build a supersonic flying saucer to a now-famous World War II-era research program that produced the first atomic bombs, here are seven declassified military or CIA secrets.

7. Project 1794
In late 2012, the U.S. Air Force declassified a trove of documents, including records of a secret program to build a flying saucer-type aircraft designed to shoot down Soviet bombers. The ambitious program, called Project 1794, was initiated in the 1950s, and a team of engineers was tasked with building a disc-shape vehicle capable of traveling at supersonic speeds at high altitudes.
The declassified documents reveal plans for the plane to reach a top speed of Mach 4 (four times the speed of sound), and reach an altitude of 100,000 feet (30,480 meters). The project's estimated cost was more than $3 million, which in today's dollars would be more than $26 million.
Project 1794 was canceled in December 1961 after tests suggested the flying saucer design was aerodynamically unstable and would likely be uncontrollable at high speeds (let alone supersonic speeds).
In the 1960s, the U.S. Army embarked on a secret mission to build a series of mobile nuclear missile launch sites under the Greenland ice sheet. The objective was to house medium-range missiles close enough to strike targets within the Soviet Union.
The program was codenamed Project Iceworm, but to test its feasibility, the Army launched a cover research project called "Camp Century" in 1960. Under this guise, engineers built a network of underground buildings and tunnels, including living quarters, a kitchen, a recreation hall, infirmary, laboratories, supply rooms, a communications center and a nuclear power plant.
The base, which was kept secret from the Danish government, operated for seven years. The program was canceled in 1966 after shifting ice created unstable conditions. Today, the crushed remains of Project Iceworm are buried beneath Arctic snow.
During the Cold War, the CIA initiated Project MK-ULTRA, a secret and illegal human research program to investigate potential mind-control systems. The program's operators examined the effects of hypnosis, biological agents and drugs, such as LSD and barbiturates, on human subjects. In 1973, then-CIA director Richard Helms ordered that all documents from Project MK-ULTRA be destroyed, but a formal investigation into the program was launched several years later. The project became the basis for several movies, such as "The Manchurian Candidate" and "The Men Who Stare at Goats."

4. Area 51
Almost no other site has garnered as much attention from conspiracy theorists and UFO-enthusiasts as Area 51, a remote desert tract near Groom Lake in Nevada, roughly 83 miles (134 kilometers) northwest of Las Vegas. The intense secrecy surrounding the base sparked peoples' imaginations, and Area 51 was commonly linked to paranormal activities, including pervasive theories that suggested Area 51 hid aliens and UFOs.
In July 2013, declassified documents from the CIA acknowledged the existence of Area 51 for the first time, and confirmed that the top-secret sitewas used to test a variety of spy planes, including the well-known U-2 reconnaissance aircraft.
While Area 51, which operates as a detachment of Edwards Air Force Base in neighboring California, has never been declared a covert base, the research and activities conducted there were some of the nation's most closely guarded secrets.
While Area 51 was not a top-secret base designed to study extraterrestrials, the U.S. Air Force did study the existence of UFOs. Project Grudge was a short-lived program launched in 1949 to study unidentified flying objects. The mission followed an earlier program, known as Project Sign, which published a report in early 1949 stating that while some UFOs seemed to be actual aircraft, there was not enough data to determine their origins. Critics of Project Grudge said the program solely set out to debunk UFO reports, and very little actual research was conducted. In his book on the topic, Edward J. Ruppelt, Air Force Captain and director of Project Grudge, wrote: "[I]t doesn't take a great deal of study of the old UFO files to see that standard intelligence procedures were not being followed by Project Grudge. Everything was being evaluated on the premise that UFOs couldn't exist. No matter what you see or hear, don't believe it."

2. Operation Paperclip
In September 1946, President Harry Truman authorized a program called Operation Paperclip, which aimed to lure scientists from Nazi Germany to the United States following World War II. Officials at the Office of Strategic Services (the predecessor to the CIA) recruited German scientists to America to aid the country's postwar efforts, which would also ensure that valuable scientific knowledge would not end up in the hands of the Soviet Union or the divided East and West Germany.
One of the most well-known secret research programs is the Manhattan Project, which eventually produced the world's first atomic bombs. The project began in 1939, and was cloaked in secrecy as physicists investigated the potential power of atomic weapons. From 1942 to 1946, Major General Leslie Groves of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers led the Manhattan Project.
The first nuclear bomb was detonated at 5:30 a.m. on July 16, 1945, during the so-called Trinity test at the Alamogordo Air Base, 120 miles (193 km) south of Albuquerque, N.M. The explosion created a mushroom cloud that stretched 40,000 feet (12,200 m), and the bomb's explosive power was equivalent to more than 15,000 tons of TNT.
A month after the Trinity test, two atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in the waning stages of World War II. To date, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki remain the only uses of nuclear weapons in war.

The Truth Is Out There: Do Area 51 Files Hold Secrets of UFOs?

In her race to secure the Democratic nomination for president, Hillary Clinton has recently drawn support from an unusual voter base — alien enthusiasts. First in a radio interview, then again on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Clinton expressed interest in making public files about UFOs and the mysterious Nevada site called Area 51.
"I would like us to go into those files and hopefully make as much of that public as possible. If there's nothing there, let's tell people there's nothing there," said Clinton, speaking with Kimmel. She confirmed that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had also gone looking for extraterrestrial information during his presidency and came up empty.
"If anyone is expecting to find flying saucers or dead aliens or any of that stuff, I think they'll be very disappointed," said Jeffrey T. Richelson, senior fellow with the National Security Archive at George Washington University, of this hypothetical release, in an interview with Live Science.
The National Security Archive, a nonprofit founded in 1985 to uncover and archive government documents and release them to the public, holds the second-largest collection of declassified U.S. files (the federal government has the largest repository).
As part of the archive's efforts, Richelson edited a release of declassified Area 51 files in 2013 that included more than 60 documents. Among many other activities, these files shed some light on Area 51's role in the development of stealth programs and the test flights of covertly obtained Soviet MiG fighter jets during the Cold War.
What is Area 51?

Located in Nevada about 80 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of Las Vegas, Area 51 is a military base that is restricted to the public. Its official name is the Nevada Test and Training Range, which is part of the Edwards Air Force Base.
Over the years, people who have worked (and claimed to have worked) at Area 51 have added fuel to the UFO fire with claims of working with aliens or having access to alien technology gathered from spacecraft crash sites. [7 Huge Misconceptions About Aliens]
"It's important to separate [what really happened there] from what most people think of when they think of Area 51: that that's where there is alien technology, a crash that had occurred somewhere that had been picked up by the military and kept there in a super-secret base, and all that kind of stuff," said Roger D. Launius, associate director for collections and curatorial affairs at the National Air and Space Museum. "That piece of it is a folklore that has no bearing [on] and no relationship to any reality whatsoever."
The scoop on spy planes
What is real, added Launius, is the facility's involvement in highly classified aerospace research and development.
Area 51's connection to experimental aircraft may be a reason why people have connected it with extraterrestrial cover-ups. After all, it is a well-known yet super-secret base that has many strange aircraft fly in and out of it, Richelson said. By his estimation, further details about the different aircraft programs that have connections to Area 51 would be the most likely results of any actions Clinton would take to declassify documents about the facility.
Specifically, Richelson theorized that further declassification of Area 51 documents could fill us in on what has gone on there after the U-2, OXCART (the successor to the U-2), F-117 and SR-71 Blackbird secret aircraft projects, which were featured in the 2013 document release. It's a challenge to theorize about the contents of secret documents, but Richelson's best guesses were that the public might gain additional information about stealth-drone programs, such asthe RQ-170 and RQ-180, and other exotic aircraft that were tested but never produced in significant numbers.
One aircraft that he said we could learn more about is the Northrop Tacit Blue, a battlefield surveillance aircraft that, according to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, "tested advanced radar sensors and new ideas in stealth technology." This unusual plane, with curves reminiscent of a to-go box, flew 135 times before the program ended in 1985.
Regardless of whether people are invested in extraterrestrial revelations, Launius said there is an important point to be made about Clinton's declassification discussions. "I would like to think that, whoever the president is — whether it's Mrs. Clinton or it's Mr. Trump, or it's somebody else, or the current president as well — that every piece of classified information that exists inside the federal government that is no longer necessary for our national security, should be declassified," he said.
While he is in favor of openness in regard to government records, Launius also notes that declassification does require significant effort and may take several years to complete, even with a presidential push.
