The SETI Institute's Allen Telescope Array in California seeks out radio transmissions from hypothetical aliens. Is there another way?
In one of Carl Sagan's last books, he noted that astronomy has brought humanity to a series of "great demotions." Simply put: When we first observed the night sky, we thought the Earth was in the center of the universe. Over time, as he described in Pale Blue Dot, we tried out other theories as the criteria fit: Maybe the sun is at the center of the universe? Perhaps we're in an important part of the galaxy?
We now know the Earth is in the suburbs of the Milky Way, and our solar system is only special because we live in it, but this series of demotions shows us one thing: it's easy to project our image on to the universe. This is especially true when searching for life. Because there is only one case of life as we know it — life on Earth — it's easiest to look for life like ours. But in reality our kind of life may not be the most common type to look for after all.
A new paper in Astrobiology is asking the astronomy community to help the SETI Institute. (SETI stands for "Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.") With more data on exoplanets coming in from the Kepler space telescope, and 50 years of space and SETI observations behind us, the hope is new tools can emerge to improve the search for life.
"A key concept is the one of cohabitation of life and environment ... Each planet is a unique planetary experiment, and if we are starting to model these environments, then we can start to figure out what kind of diversity is out there," author Nathalie Cabrol, the SETI Institute's senior research scientist and director of the Carl Sagan Center, told Discovery News.
One example she suggests in her paper is looking for an element that is in disequilibrium in a planet's atmosphere. (In other words, if scientists see a lot of silicon in an atmosphere that physics predicts would have little, perhaps that could show silicon-based life there.) The advantage is the aliens wouldn't necessarily have to be sending out signals for us to find, she added.
A recent blog post from the SETI Institute's Seth Shostak highlighted this fact for Earth, pointing out our oxygen signature has broadcast life for more than two billion years.
Indeed, much of astrobiology itself is built on assumptions. Scientists commonly speak of a "habitable zone" for planets, based mostly on where Earth is located in our own solar system. Exoplanet biology is also compared with our own, such as when instruments for Mars are tested here based on their abilities to find Earth microbes.
Radio and optical searches, she added, are still the best tool we know of for searching given our known physics of the universe. But she does point out in the paper that the SETI Institute has been focused on the endpoint of the famous Drake equation — how many communicating civilizations there are — rather than "trying to understand or quantify the processes taking place within each of the factors's [for life] that lead to the next."
Even Frank Drake himself, she added, said his equation was not aimed to look for microbes or non-communicating species.
Cabrol said the goal of her paper — which she emphasized is just a single data point, open to discussion and dispute from other astronomers — is not to necessarily say these ideas are wrong. Instead, her hope is that after the SETI Institute organizes a workshop next year to explore these issues, that astronomers may have a better idea about where to point their telescopes.

As the long-running Cassini mission enters its last year at Saturn, NASA is moving forward with an early-stage technology study to send a drone to its moon Titan.
The agency awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 1 contract for Global Aerospace Corp. and Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems to create a vehicle known as the Titan Winged Aerobot built to explore Saturn's largest moon and prepare a prototype for testing on Earth. SBIR Phase 1 contracts last six months and are worth up to $125,000,according to NASA.
"Titan is a cold, harsh environment that poses many technical challenges for any lighter-than-air exploration platform," said Benjamin Goldman, principal investigator of the Phase I effort, in a statement from Global. [How Humans Could Live on Titan (Infographic)]
The new Titan robot will include several design elements to let it cope with that environment, he added in the statement. This would include excellent "lift" generation (the ability to soar using Titan's dense atmosphere), maneuverability and the ability to withstand Titan's atmospheric pressure.
Titan is the only known solar system moon to have a substantial atmosphere and a liquid cycle (including hydrocarbon lakes on its surface), which has led some scientists to compare it to an early Earth. It also could host methane-based life despite its harsh temperatures (minus 300 Fahrenheit, or minus 184 Celsius, at the surface) and lack of water, which earthly creatures require.
Titan has already seen one landing. In 2005, the Cassini mission sent the Huygens probe to the surface of Titan. It remained operational for a couple of hours, sending back data on the moon's atmosphere and surface.
Unlike Huygens' single landing, a Titan drone could soar above many locations. Because it is closer to the surface, it could map Titan in greater detail than the higher-ranging Cassini flybys. This provides potential for studies in astrobiology and habitability, Global representatives said.
The design calls for a maneuverable glider, as well as atmospheric entry and ballooning capabilities, that can be controlled in 3D. It would operate using a single nuclear-power source, which is common for missions far out in the solar system that don't receive a lot of sunlight.
One unique feature of the Titan Winged Aerobot is a buoyancy system that would let it ascend and descend without need of propulsion or traditional aviation "control" surfaces such as flaps, Global representatives said. The robot could fly over sites several times and even send targeted probes down to the surface, the company added.
While the technology is designed for Titan, Global said the glider's work could be used on "any solar system body with an atmosphere." Applications could include returning payloads to Earth from the International Space Station or viewing Mars from a drone built for its thin atmosphere.
The SBIR program is part of a suite of NASA programs that fund far-out research. The research looks at aerospace or space technology concepts that could be decades away from flight, if they're selected for further development.
A team of physicists from the UK and Canada have created a computer simulation that points to the Big Bounce theory rather than the Big Bang. They state that the universe we know today is the sequel to a previous one that collapsed. They state that despite this periodical collapse, the universe does not completely get destroyed because the effects of quantum mechanics preserves it, allowing it to spring back to what it is today.
ETERNAL BOUNCE
A team of physicists from the UK and Canada have provided a simulation that supports the theory that our universe did not start out the way the Big Bang model proposes, but rather expanded to its current state after a period of contraction—a cycle dictated by the Big Bounce Theory.
The Big Bounce theory states that the universe follows a cycle of contraction and expansion, repeated infinitely. According to this theory, the universe did not begin with a violent explosion, but rather formed as a previous universe expanded or “bounced” back collapsing during the contraction phase of this endless cycle.
One of the main issues that had prevented the Big Bounce theory from securing its validity is that there was no proposed explanation as to how the universe could expand back after its full collapse. The team’s simulation suggests that once the universe reaches its smallest point, the common laws of physics governing our daily environment are abandoned and the rules of quantum mechanics come into play. The effects of quantum mechanics would preserve of the universe, keeping it from destruction and allowing the emergence of another universe like the one we’re in today.
“Quantum mechanics saves us when things break down,” explains team member Steffen Gielen, from Imperial College London. “It saves electrons from falling in and destroying atoms, so maybe it could also save the early Universe from such violent beginnings and endings as the Big Bang.”
NEXT UP: GALAXIES
Using quantum mechanics in a computer simulation, the team was able to formulate how the universe could spring back from deflation, even with only radiation and a little matter remaining in it.
“The big surprise in our work is that we could describe the earliest moments of the hot Big Bang quantum mechanically, under very reasonable and minimal assumptions about the matter present in the Universe,” said team member Neil Turk, from the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Canada. “Under these assumptions, the Big Bang was a ‘bounce’, in which contraction reversed to expansion.”
What’s next for this simulation is to find out if the entities within the universe, such as galaxies, can come into existence under these circumstances. As technology evolves, the chances thatquantum computers could finally catch up with the enigmas of the universe are looking better and better.
The AeroMobil 3.0 is the latest version of the vehicle that will allow us to drive on the road and fly through the air.
AeroMobil unveiled its latest version of its (rather remarkably) futuristic vehicle, which is designed to be both driven on the road and flown through the air. Yes, that’s right—a flying car.
The AeroMobil 3.0 is one of several new experimental prototypes that the company hopes to launch by the end of the year. The current prototypes are all two-seated vehicles, but it could undergo some changes and may be able to quickly accommodate more passengers, as the AeroMobil 3.0 is only the “first product in a series of innovative vehicles,” according its CEO Juraj Vaculik.

The AeroMobil team says their vehicles are not frivolous or unrealistic fabrications, but assert that it can do far more than cut commuters’ travel time. Most notably, it could be used by first responders and law enforcement in areas with poor road infrastructure.
The company plans to commercialize the AeroMobil 3.0 car by 2017.

NORAD documents reveal 75 UFO intercepts annually

North America’s Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) tracks an average of 1,800 UFOs annually and intercepts about 75 times each year, according to Canadian Access to Information Act (AIA) documents recently released to UFO Disclosure Advocate Victor Viggiani.
No one at NORAD is saying these were UFOs – but instead, they refer to unidentified objects as Tracks of Interest (TOI) or Unknown Tracks.
Viggiani spoke Saturday night, June 25, 2016, at the Alien Cosmic Expo in Ontario, Canada, and copied panel members on the 11 documents he is in possession of.
NORAD is the North American Aerospace Defense Command – a combined U.S. and Canada organization – that provides aerospace warning, air sovereignty, and defense of North America. NORAD is located at Peterson Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, CO.
In response to Viggiani’s request for documents pertaining to NORAD tracking or intercepting UFOs, a letter from NORAD Operations details how requests for information on Unknown Tracks cannot be released due to their sensitive nature due to national security. But the letter does provide a summation from the NORAD Commander.
“However, the NORAD Commander has approved the release of the following information regarding Tracks of Interest (TOI) and Unknown Tracks. The yearly average in the past five years has been 1,800 TOIs and 75 intercepts.”
In addition to this letter, Viggiani also received a six-page document as an example of a TOI.
Reached at his home in Toronto today, Viggiani said this particular document is very revealing, but also leaves a number of unanswered questions.
The document is a NORAD status report, which uses a line-item approach as details are available to be reported. Some of the lines are redacted or blocked out so that they cannot be seen. In one area they outline how an intercept was ordered on three objects.
“The missing information,” Viggiani said, “is obviously what did they see when they intercepted?”
Viggiani is the News Director of international news service Zland Communications. From his biography:
“His study of anomalous aerial phenomenon, research and analysis of Extraterrestrial issues spans over 30 years. His experience involves UFO sightings report investigation, academic and radio journalism with a primary focus on UFO/ET government Disclosure. Thousands of people have spoken out and attested to the reality of this phenomenon. In the United States, hundreds of people with distinguished backgrounds — people working in politics, academia, the military, and other professional fields — have come forward to share their experience and research. One of those people is Dr. Jacques Valle.
Valle codeveloped the very first computerized mapping of Mars for NASA. He is also noted for his work at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), where he helped create ARPANET, a technology that became the foundation for the modern day internet.
He also supports the extraterrestrial hypothesis as one explanation for the UFO phenomenon, meaning that some of these UFOs are indeed intelligently controlled, remotely or not, by extraterrestrial beings. One of his many published papers, written in the late 90s, appeared in the Journal of Scientific Exploration. Titled “Estimates of Optical Power Output in Six Cases Of Unexplained Aeriel Objects With Defined Luminosity Characteristics,” (source)(source) it offers a comprehensive look at the oddities military pilots encounter when they are ordered to intercept one of these UFOs. Valle’s latest work includes a recently published analysis of 500 UFO cases from biblical antiquity t0 1879 before the development of modern industry. That was published in his book Wonders of the Sky.

One planet is believed to be around 10 times the size of Earth, while the other one is estimated to be the size of Mars. The team of astronomers concluded that the two mysterious planets orbit at a distance equal to 200 times Earths distance from the Sun.
Backing up this find, astronomers at California Institute of technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, have found more evidence of a giant new planet in the far reaches of our solar system. Planet Nine has been discovered after researching the strange orbits of objects found in the Kuiper Belt.
With the use of mathematical models, scientists noticed that the existence of a large and previously unknown planet could explain the mystery behind these frozen objects’ behavior and also a number of other space anomalies.
This new planet is 10 times more massive than the Earth and is orbiting 20 times farther from the Sun than distant Neptune does. Although the planet appears on paper, observing it is another challenge altogether, but their find is extremely similar to that of the Spanish astronomers from 2014

It is becoming very clear that us humans may not be not the universe’s first advanced civilization.
This is the conclusion of a recent revision of the famous 1961 Drake Equation, which actually estimates the number of intelligent civilizations in the universe.
Their new equation includes recent data from Nasa’s Kepler satellite on the number of exoplanets that could harbour life.
Researchers also adapted the equation from being about the number of civilizations that exist now, to being about the probability of civilization being the only one that has ever existed!
We are FAR from alone
This important recent study shows that unless the odds of advanced life evolving on a habitable planet are astonishingly low, then humankind is not the only advanced civilization to have lived and there are probably far more advanced Beings out there in the greater Universe!
In fact, the odds of an advanced civilization developing need to be less than one in 10 billion trillion for humans to be the only intelligent life in the universe.
But Kepler data places those odds much higher, which means technologically advanced aliens are likely to have existed at some point.
Adam Frank, professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Rochester and co-author of the paper, went on to say:
‘The question of whether advanced civilizations exist elsewhere in the universe has always been vexed with three large uncertainties in the Drake equation,’
‘We’ve known for a long time approximately how many stars exist.
‘We didn’t know how many of those stars had planets that could potentially harbour life, how often life might evolve and lead to intelligent beings, and how long any civilizations might last before becoming extinct.’
‘Thanks to Nasa’s Kepler satellite and other searches, we now know that roughly one-fifth of stars have planets in ‘habitable zones,’ where temperatures could support life as we know it.
‘So one of the three big uncertainties has now been constrained.’ He said.
Frank went on to say that the third big question is. how long civilizations might survive – something which is as of yet still completely unknown.
‘The fact that humans have had rudimentary technology for roughly ten thousand years doesn’t really tell us if other societies would last that long or perhaps much longer,’ he explained.
The Drake equation (top row) has proven to be a durable framework for research. But it is impossible to do anything more than guess at variables such as L, the probably longevity of other advanced civilizations. In new research, Adam Frank and Woodruff Sullivan offer a new equation (bottom row)
But Frank and his co-author, Woodruff Sullivan of the astronomy department at the University of Washington, found they could eliminate that term altogether by simply expanding the question.
‘Rather than asking how many civilizations may exist now, we ask ‘are we the only technological species that has ever arisen?’ said Sullivan.
‘This shifted focus eliminates the uncertainty of the civilization lifetime question and allows us to address what we call the ‘cosmic archaeological question’ – how often in the history of the universe has life evolved to an advanced state?
Rather than guessing at the odds of advanced life developing, they calculate the odds against it occurring in order for humanity to be the only advanced civilization.
With that, Frank and Sullivan then calculated the line between a universe where humanity has been the sole experiment in civilization and one where others have come before us.
‘Of course, we have no idea how likely it is that an intelligent technological species will evolve on a given habitable planet,’ says Frank.
‘But using our method we can tell exactly how low that probability would have to be for us to be the only civilization the universe has produced.
‘We call that the pessimism line. If the actual probability is greater than the pessimism line, then a technological species and civilization has likely happened before.’
Using this interesting approach, Frank and Sullivan can now calculate how unlikely advanced life must be if there has never been another example among the universe’s ten billion trillion stars, or even among our own Milky Way galaxy’s hundred billion.
‘One in 10 billion trillion is incredibly small,’ says Frank. ‘To me, this implies that other intelligent, technology producing species very likely have evolved before us.
‘Think of it this way. Before our result you’d be considered a pessimist if you imagined the probability of evolving a civilization on a habitable planet were, say, one in a trillion
‘But even that guess, one chance in a trillion, implies that what has happened here on Earth with humanity has in fact happened about a 10 billion other times over cosmic history.’
For smaller volumes the numbers are less extreme.
For example, another technological species likely has evolved on a habitable planet in our own Milky Way galaxy if the odds against it are better than one chance in 60 billion.
But if those numbers seem to give ammunition to the ‘optimists’ about the existence of alien civilizations,
Sullivan points out that the full Drake equation – which calculates the odds that other civilizations are around today – may give solace to the pessimists.
‘The universe is more than 13 billion years old,’ said Sullivan.
‘That means that even if there have been a thousand civilizations in our own galaxy, if they live only as long as we have been around – roughly ten thousand years – then all of them are likely already extinct.
‘And others won’t evolve until we are long gone. For us to have much chance of success in finding another ‘contemporary’ active technological civilization, on average they must last much longer than our present lifetime.’
‘Given the vast distances between stars and the fixed speed of light we might never really be able to have a conversation with another civilization anyway,’ said Frank.
‘If they were 20,000 light years away then every exchange would take 40,000 years to go back and forth.’

There's a rumor swirling around the internet that NASA intentionally turned off a live camera on the International Space Station (ISS) after the feed showed a small object just above Earth. The suggestion (or outright accusation, by some) is that NASA is trying to cover something up — that the bright light was an alien UFO or a large piece of space debris that the agency doesn't want people to know about.
Is there any truth to the rumors? Here's what we know: A bright object was visible in the video feed coming from the live camera on the ISS, and the camera cut out shortly after the object appeared (the camera came back on shortly after, and is now running as usual).
But those events won't surprise anyone with a little bit of knowledge about the station cameras, because both things occur commonly. And NASA representatives have now stated very directly that the agency did not turn off the camera intentionally.
It's not rare for the space station camera feeds to cut out for various reasons, including the fact that the station orbits the Earth about 16 times per day, and frequently slips out of direct contact with NASA.
"The International Space Station regularly passes out of range of the Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS) used to send and receive video, voice and telemetry from the station," representatives from NASA's Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate said in a statementpublished by the Huffington Post.
"For video, whenever we lose signal (video comes down on our higher bandwidth, called KU), the cameras will show a blue screen (indicating no signal) or a preset video slate, depending on where you are watching the feed," the statement said.
Secondly, bright objects hurtle toward Earth all the time. There are space rocks burning up in the atmosphere (meteors, also known as shooting stars). Human-made space debris can also burn up while falling through the atmosphere (space agencies monitor the larger chunks). And then there's the possibility that the bright spot as an artifact — nothing more than a reflection.
"Reflections from station windows, the spacecraft structure itself or lights from Earth commonly appear as artifacts in photos and videos from the orbiting laboratory, just as reflections often appear in pictures taken on Earth," the statement said.
Adding some finality to the speculation, the representatives added, "No unidentifiable objects have been seen from the ISS."
While that explanation may not satisfy some people, one thing to keep in mind when considering alleged NASA conspiracies is that "NASA" refers to a very large collection of people. Dozens of individuals monitor the activities on the space station constantly (although, as mentioned above, the station drops out of direct contact with the agency on a regular basis). This brings to mind the saying, "three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead," meaning, simply, that the more people who are in on a secret, the less likely it is to stay a secret.
What's more, most of those people are scientists and engineers, professionals who dedicate their lives to the pursuit of truth. It's important to keep that information in mind when weighing the likelihood of conspiracy theories.

This video was just put up this week and it shows a dark UFO leaving a long contrail, presumably that it had made to hide in. This UFO turns and passes behind the cloudy trail, then moves away to the left. Very cool find, and normally we would have missed it, had this person not looked more carefully at their recording.
I saw a strange looking cloud outside my home in downtown Vancouver BC, and I took some pictures of it and decided to get a video too. What you see in this video was not what I saw taking it. The object was discovered today, while going through my pictures on my phone. I don't know what I'm looking at. I don't think it's an insect on my window as it seems to "materialize" and then vanish within seconds. The object's maneuverability and speed is incredible. I'm upset I didn't keep recording, as you can see at the end of the video, the object is clearly visible. But I had recorded a cloud for a minute and thought I got enough out of this cloud phenomenon.
The video has not been digitally tampered with at all, except for slowing it down in certain spots to highlight the UFO.

By now many people have heard of the "secret space program" and "breakaway civilizations" from noted researchers and authors such as Joseph P. Farrell and Peter Levenda. Recently, we have gathered even more mind-blowing insider information about the extent of these ultra classified programs from brave whistleblowers such as Corey Goodeand Randy Cramer (aka: Captain Kaye). When we combine the information we are now receiving from these individuals with known facts from a vast number of other sources in the Ufology field, we are able to form a much clearer picture of what might be happening beyond the boundary of Earths atmosphere. First, let's take a brief look at what this "secret space program" consists of for those who might be uninitiated. Throughout history we the public have always been told that NASA is basically the pinnacle of space exploration--this is an abject lie. By now, almost everyone knows that the American space program began with "Operation Paperclip" at the end of the war, a program whereby all of Germany's top rocket scientists were brought to the US to serve under the direction of the US government and military research facilities, namely Los Alamos Labs in New Mexico. The post-war years were a critical turning point in rocket science and advanced engineering, with the help of scientists like Werner Von Braun the US was able to develop everything from guided missiles to nuclear weapons. This massive influx of brainpower, technical skill and real world experience gave the Americans a critical edge on manned space flight over the Russians who had managed to put a satellite in orbit first. But this was merely the impetus of a much darker space program which the US military would soon start secretly funneling billions, and eventually trillions, of tax payer dollars into.
THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING It wasn't just transplanted Nazi scientists that helped jumpstart the US space program. Recovered technology from crashed extraterrestrial craft raised the state-of-the-art to a level that was inconceivable at the time. The Roswell recovery put the US military 40 to 50 years ahead of where they were in 1947. In fact, the technology was so advanced that it had to be categorized and systematically distributed amongst various high-level research and development companies including Bell Labs, XEROX PARC and AT&T as well as aerospace companies like Lockheed, Northrop and General Dynamics. It was all too much for the military to study and reverse-engineer on their own, so they utilized these R&D companies to help achieve their goals quicker than they could on their own. Ex-military insiders such as Phillip J. Corso and ex-aerospace contractors like Don Phillips have described in detail the lengths to which the military went to duplicate this technology and incorporate it into advanced weapons programs throughout the 1950's and 60's.
This timeframe saw a veritable explosion of technological advancements in everything from solid state electronics to aerospace design to advanced optics like thermal imaging. It was at this point that the powers that be--the 'Cabal' as I will refer to them--decided to split this space program down the middle. Half of it would step out into the 'white world' and become what we today know as the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) while the other half would slip into the 'black world' and form the foundation of what we now call the Secret Space Program (SSP). It is not fully understood how this all came about, we just know that it all began over 60 years ago and there has obviously been decades of advancement and development since then.

A BLACK HOLE OF SPENDING
If there's one thing the US military knows how to do well, it's spend lots of money. Since the end of WW2 the US government has spent roughly 50 trillion dollars on defense projects with probably another 20 trillion in off-the-books 'black budget' programs, and these are conservative estimates. Most of that black budget money was used by the Cabal to fund one the greatest secrets in the history of mankind--a secret fleet of spacecraft which was utilized to establish the Lunar Operations Command (LOC) facility on the far side of the moon as well as a military-run colony on Mars. I know this all sounds fantastical, like something out of a science fiction novel, but when you look at the corroborating evidence and start putting pieces together from eyewitness testimony and ex-military whistleblowers like Goode, it starts to make rational sense. They say that anything is possible if you throw enough money at it, and this is a prime example of that mentality.
The US government's approach of 'more is more' reminds me of a pivotal scene in one of my favorite movies, "Contact". At one point in the film S.R. Hadden, a billionaire akin to Robert Bigelow, is spending his final days aboard a space station in orbit when he contacts Ellie Arroway to let her know of the existence of a second 'Machine'. He says, "First rule in government spending: why build one when you can have two at twice the price? Only, this one can be kept secret. Controlled by Americans and built by Japanese subcontractors who, also, happen to be recently acquired, wholly-owned subsidiaries of Hadden industries." It is this same mentality that has allowed a conglomerate of defense contractors and 'black' arms of various international governments to build and maintain secret space stations and a fleet of spacecraft costing trillions of dollars. I realize this all sounds improbable and if I wasn't hearing myself say this I wouldn't believe it either, but the reality of the situation is that there IS a trail of money that all leads to the same place: a compartmentalized black hole that even the highest levels of government don't have access to.
THE TRILLION POUND GORILLA IN THE ROOM
So you might ask why bother to even create a civilian space agency in the first place? Distraction, misdirection and control, of course. NASA was--and still is--a convenient way for the Cabal to say "Hey everyone, look over there!" The space agency has purposely been hobbled and restricted in their movement since it's very inception. NASA was created with a grand purpose in mind, something a bit darker than the Disney-sheen sense of wonderment that we all associate with space exploration. It all began with fireworks, parades and waving flags. Sure, the Apollo program was globally recognized as an incredible achievement for the United States and Mankind itself, but it was all just sleight of hand. While the world was glued to their cathode ray tubes in riveted excitement about landing a man on the moon, the Cabal may have already been well underway with construction on a Lunar Base. Think about the magnitude of this for a moment: Humanity may have already had men on the moon before we put a man on the moon! Let that sink in for minute.

During the post-Apollo era NASA was given just enough money to continue their
'white world' programs of interplanetary exploration. They were allowed to develop and build the Space Shuttle in 1980 with a 4.2 billion dollar budget approved by Congress. By comparison, the FY1980 military defense budget was 303.4 billion dollars not including the black budget. In 1997 NASA was allowed to kickstart construction of the International Space Station with a budget of 13.2 billion dollars, a paltry 4% of the 305 billion dollar FY1997 defense budget. Fastfoward to the present day and NASA is practically a laughing stock, it's the kid standing up in class to answer a question with a "kick me" post-it note stuck to his back. The agency is blissfully oblivious to the fact that it has been surpassed by classified military technology in every measurable way since it's very inception. Their FY2015 budget is 18.4 billion dollars while the FY2015 military defense budget is 460 billion. NASA may have started off with fireworks, parades and waving flags, but it's ending in a proverbial hospital bed with no budget attached to a life support system made in Russia. This is exactly as the Cabal intended from square one. On September 10th, 2001 Donald Rumsfeld announced that 2.3 trillion dollars of US Pentagon money had "vanished" and he very matter-of-factly blamed it on 'military spending.' The next day, nobody in the world would remember this little tid bit of information.
FIRST DEGREE MINDSLAUGHTER
I don't want to harp any longer about the money, but suffice it to say there have been AMPLE budgets over the past few decades to accomplish the impossible without the general public ever finding out about any of it. From a skeptical viewpoint this rules out money as a limiting factor in the existence of a secret space program. So that leads us to investigate the possibility of other limitations, such as logistical hurdles like people. A program of this magnitude would require not only thousands of personnel but thousands of people that could be effectively controlled and contained. I cannot envision the captain of a US Navy space fleet vessel grabbing his suitcase, kissing his wife and saying "I'm off to Mars for three years honey, don't wait up for me." We're talking about a separate 'breakaway' population of people who may have been brought into these programs as children, much like Corey Goode was. Being an empath, he was recruited into MILAB as a child in the hopes that his talent could be utilized while still being under control in a military type command structure.
Randy Cramer, Secret Space Program whistleblower
Randy Cramer (aka: Captain Kaye), another recent whistleblower (born in 1970) was trained from the age of 4 to 17 years old as part of Project Mannequin (a global military supersoldier project). He later participated in Project Moonshadow (300 supersoldiers). This level of mind control would have been absolutely necessary for a program like this to even begin to work. According to Cramer, mind control after 1960 moved from MK Ultra (trauma-based) to Project Moonshadow (cooperative-based). Moonshadow’s aim was not to create faster, stronger killers, but faster, stronger and 'more moral' supersoldiers. One has to ask, how many others like Corey and Randy were recruited into these clandestine programs? There have been quite a few that have come forward over the past decade, but how many other people like them are out there quietly contemplating whether or not to come out of the dark?
TOTAL RECALL: THE GRAND DECEPTION
Governments around the world, and the US government in particular, are lying to people on an unprecedented, colossal scale. People are running around worrying about things like the next American Idol and soaking up the nonstop fear-porn propaganda pumped out by the MSM, but meanwhile a Cabal-controlled portion of humanity with highly advanced technology is already actively colonizing space! Richard Dolan has referred to this as the "breakaway civilization." Randy Cramer states that he believes (but has not verified with personal experience) that we have colonies not just on the Moon and Mars, but throughout the solar system and perhaps further. There is the distinct possibility that at least part of this breakaway civilization has been in place and space-faring even before the 1940's. In recent years we have seen ex-military whistleblowers come forward who have claimed to see evidence of human-made advanced technology that pre-dates even our first alien crash retrievals, suggesting that there may have been highly advanced space-faring civilizations existing prior to ours. This raises many more questions than it answers and that's probably the topic of a totally different conversation, we're just focusing on the secret space program here.
What we do know for a fact is that there is a 'faction' on our planet with access to incredible technology which operates completely independent of any government or military oversight. They are comprised of nameless contractors employed by an as-yet-unseen shadow organization, this "Cabal" that Corey and Randy both refer to. While doing some research for this article I stumbled upon an interesting story posted in a popular alternative news message forum. The person posting the story was friends with a retired one-star Brigadier General who spent 33 years in the Air Force. They referred contract projects to each other and apparently worked closely together on different job sites. This retired General revealed to his friend that he spent time on duty at both Wright Patterson AFB and Groom Lake and admitted to having top secret clearance as well as a 'need to know' clearance into certain areas, as he referred to it. He said he saw hangers "larger than life" that were heavily guarded and many of his Air Force buddies told stories of seeing incredibly large hangers and underground facilities that were incomprehensibly huge. Most importantly, this ex-general stated that he believed these enormous underground hangers aren’t controlled by the US government, even though they are within a military base these facilities were controlled by an external group not related to the military. He added that the hangers were guarded by personnel with no insignia, no rank, and no affiliation with the Air Force.(Source)
I have heard this all before, not only from Sirius Disclosure project testimonies but from my own relationships with several ex-Air Force pilots. I once sketched out what I thought the top secret "Aurora" hypersonic aircraft looked like and showed it to my good friend who is a retired Air Force Colonel and fighter/bomber pilot. His reply was "it doesn't look like that."Sometimes the biggest reveal can come in the shortest statement, but I digress...
Between February 2001 and March 2002 Gary McKinnon, a Scottish systems administrator, hacked into 97 different US military and NASA computers from his girlfriends house in London under the handle "Solo." In true Object Report Agent fashion his ultimate goal was to uncover evidence of UFOs and suppressed advanced technology. What he found would turn his initial '6-months of community service' judgement into extradition to the United States and 70 years in prison. Gary said he was inspired by Dr. Steven Greer’s Disclosure project. Greer brought together a number of very credible witnesses to testify in front of the Washington National Press Club that they had knowledge of the existence of extraterrestrial visitation and a secret space program. One of the witnesses, an ex-Air Force Sergeant named Karl Wolfe, spoke about pictures from space being purposely altered at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. McKinnon hacked into Johnson’s computer systems and said he found a high definition picture of a large cigar shaped craft over the northern hemisphere. The file was 235 megabytes and difficult to view on his computer since he was on a 57k dial-up connection using a VPN connection in Windows XP. He lowered the bit-depth down to 4-bit so the image would load quicker and saw a spacecraft of some type that he was unfortunately unable to save.
The most controversial bit of information McKinnon uncovered came when he hacked into US Space Command systems. He claims to have found an Excel document that listed "non-terrestrial officers" and "ship to ship transfers" in a Naval fleet that does not exist. When pressed to recall names of the ships he saw listed, Gary remembered two: the USSS LeMayand the USSS Hillenkoetter. If this is true, the names are very significant, as is the "USSS" designation. All of this information points to the existence of an 'off world' fleet of Naval vessels and only serves to bolster the information Corey and Randy have recently brought to light. Was the spacecraft Gary saw part of the alleged "Solar Warden" space fleet program that has come to light in recent years?
Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter was the first director of the CIA, and was also a member of a UFO research organization, the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP). In 1960 the New York Times reported that Hillenkoetter had sent a letter to Congress that included this statement: "Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizenhttp://theobjectreport.blogspot.be/s are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense." Although Hillenkoetter fought for the end of UFO secrecy, he eventually stopped commenting on the matter. Alleged secret documents that were leaked to UFO researchers list Hillenkoetter as a member of the infamous Majestic 12 group, an organization rumored to have been made up of high ranking military officers and civilians created by President Truman to initially manage the UFO issue.
So, what we are seeing with all of these people coming out of the black-world is what I've been saying would eventually happen for years now. The leaky faucet of disclosure is getting leakier! We're seeing more and more people coming forward out of the darkness and amazingly some of them are being allowed to do so by the powers that be. Randy Cramer claimed that he was given permission by his commanding officer to go public with his information, which suggests that the Cabal realizes that this is the ideal way for them to allow leakage of the truth without losing face and triggering social unrest. This is a slow pressure release engineered to gradually acclimate the masses to the concept of extraterrestrials and, ultimately, these secret space programs that have been in operation for over 50 years.
Believe me when I say that there is much, MUCH more going on behind the scenes than we are privy to. I enjoy delving into the nuts and bolts of a topic and that is what I hoped to do here. The bottomline is: there are multiple secret space programs in operation, we are FAR from alone in the universe and we have been lied to for as long as we can remember. It is time for all of us to wake up as a collective consciousness and acknowledge what is going on and the information that is being revealed to us all.

Many of us by now have read material about the great galactic alignment or have seen YouTube videos and documentaries about this cosmic phenomenon. The idea of the Earth solar system entering the high energy zone of the Milky Way Galaxy plane was even made into a major Hollywood blockbuster film "2012". Unfortunately, anytime a UFO or ET concept is turned into a film script and green lighted for production, the original, fragile theory is trivialized and reality muddied leaving the general population in a state of mind, believing it was all just science fiction controversy originating from some film. In this case however, the event would obviously be so overwhelming and grand, there would be no mistaking the reality of the situation, no matter how many times the subject has been tampered with via mainstream media.
So what is the deal? Is this Great Galactic Alignment controversy real or just another eye candy theory spawning off the mother ship of 2012 and the Mayan calendar theory popularity? The Object Report over the last few years has posted many links on the galactic center controversy, so the Agents are aware that there are in-depth articles on the subject of the galactic alignment which go into great detail, so for this Object Special Report I would like to take a couple of steps back, analyze where we stand at this moment, literally speaking, and determine what the most recent data snap shot indicates.
What is the galactic alignment? There are many shapes, sizes and configurations of galaxies in our universe. Our galaxy is of the barred spiral galaxy classification and likely contains at minimum 100 billion planets among its 1 trillion stars. This is a staggering number but even more mind blowing is the reality that there are trillions more galaxies in the visible Universe, each galaxy with an equal number of stars and planets and there are likely an infinite number of Universes in the infinity matrix. Aside from staggering numbers - the most pressing aspect of the shape of our galaxy is the fact that our Milky Way galaxy is flat, so all of the light, gravity, mass and quantum energy contained in our Milky Way is in general spread out across the disc in a rather tight, narrow beam akin to the energy coming from a spinning airport traffic control radar dish. The focused beams from a lighthouse on the ocean would be another good analogy with extra-dimensional (quantum) energy being emitted/absorbed from the center of our Milky Way galaxy - possibly originating from a central, super-massive black hole. There is also the energy and mass of the stars which makeup the galaxy body - and there are countless black-holes spread out along the disk in addition to the super-massive black hole at the center of our galaxy. It is important to also note here that when we mentally visualize our galaxy we are conceptualizing an impossibly large construct with evolutionary brain horsepower that has fine tuned around visual objects and an organic understanding of 3D space with concepts such as mass, momentum, acceleration, temperature - yet there is more beyond living human senses, that affects us. Quantum phenomenon cannot readily be visualized with organs, humans do however have the ability with their unique conscious intelligence to, in a way, visualize the quantum phenomenon realm as well. When dealing with quanta or more broadly expressed, quantum phenomenon - we have the impossibly simple concept of waves and thresholds. Everything in existence is made solely from thresholds and interference patterns within eternal, primordial waves. Threshold is magical in quantum phenomenon for it bridges together the light speed physical 3D world with the magical unseen world of instant and infinite. Earth's long-count trajectory and galactic alignment combine two mega-concepts together when the 3D shape of our galactic energy-band and the Earth's position within it, impact with the ultra-concept of quanta, in which galactic energy rises directly affect established quantum thresholds in our local space. Quanta events can be almost binary in nature, you either have the energy or you do not. What if we have been lacking a certain level of local space quantum-energy, in which the Earth swims? What if our local quadrant and local torsion field take on board more energy and thresholds are broken in an instant?
Multi-dimensional energy originating from this ultra-massive black hole and from the central region of the galaxy in general is most dense in the middle of the flat aspect of our galaxy, as the graphic at top roughly demonstrates. The Earth and other stars in our quadrant are once again in a natural motion, drifting into this high energy zone. This controversial cycle of our local solar quadrant drifting in and out of this galactic alignment middle zone, or high density zone, seems to happen roughly every 25,000 years. It is a natural motion within complex galaxies, but when living beings with quantum minds are scurrying around on the crust of one of the planets at just the right time as it enters the alignment zone, strange things happen to those beings (supposedly). What happens? That is the million dollar question everyone is in a flurry to figure out. The Earth aligning with the density zone of the galaxy and being influenced by extra gravity and light, in itself would not be that remarkable at first glance, however if we consider the quanta factor of this cosmic alignment and assume a super-massive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy is emitting the deepest quantum energy - it would be an entirely different issue. Do we have any proof whatsoever of a mysterious quantum energy factor in our Milky Way galaxy? Well, strangely enough, yes we do and it is called 'dark matter'.
What is dark matter? Physicist at this moment are left speculating and most scientists suggest they do not know, but we have a good idea of what dark matter is and in fact, the escoteric data stream now coming through the human collective consciousness that is called the "internet" has a transmission in the form of KRYON, a quantum supreme being who has described verbally what dark matter is. KRYON roughly states that dark matter is instantaneous quantum energy from other, unseen dimensions and in fact our entire galaxy is locked together and rotates in one, interlinked-quantum-state. Knowing so very little about dark matter, perhaps it could be asked, why even bring up the subject if it is yet undefined? The enigma of dark matter is so great it represents the possibility for us to suggest this is instrumental physical evidence that points to a potentially esoteric nature of dark matter. The mere fact that scores of scientists and astrophysicists cannot explain dark matter suggests they indeed cannot identify its nature because it is paranormal, or esoteric and we have not yet achieved instruments advanced and sensitive enough to help us understand energy outside of our dimensional constant. We can only observe reality at our light speed, another, nearby dimensional plane likely has another light speed constant (relative to ours if put side by side).
What are the scenarios for the Earth entering a galactic sweet spot? Scenario one: nothing happens! Scenario two: the EIRM (Esoteric Internet Rumor Machine) indicates this great galactic alignment will result in a change of energy density of our local quadrant, our solar system. The energy change will be on a multi-dimensional level, again with the dominant source being that of the super-dense-mass at the center of our galaxy. It will be a period for humans in which the fundamental laws of physics will be ever so slightly altered and time and space itself will be affected. Because the human mind is quantum based and exists outside of space and time and mass, the great alignment likely represents a sort of "quantum-tunneling" whereby the physicality of our human existence will be brought closer to our eternal quantum aspect and we will be that much closer to what we call the 4th dimension, the supernatural, or the light body.
Do we have any proof of this supernatural transition happening now? Any proof something is cooking? Again, we swing around to same ole problem of elusive tangible proof. Running The Object Report, Agent K and I sometimes feel like the owners of a high-rise apartment building and we are perpetually stuck trying to collect rent from the tenets and they never pay up. We can hear the party and thumping bass behind the closed door, but if we knock to collect rent, there is never an answer, never tangible proof handed to us. It sounds hopeless, but many of us die hard Ufologists, including Agent K and myself, have had personal UFO sightings and esoteric experiences - so I know on an idiosyncratic level something is going on. I cannot prove it readily to you, but I know it in my own personal reality sphere. With all of these massive theories floating around, such as Grays, hybrid beings, abductions, disclosure, galactic alignment - it's all so huge at some point something has to give, the dam must burst and surely the proof comes spilling forth. We are still waiting on absolute physical proof, that is obvious. We do however, keep receiving these curious, mass-less neutrino-like packets of information from fresh sources. Recently we have begun posting several interviews with Corey Goode who talks at length about his experience in the organization we might refer loosely to as MILAB. Corey delves effortlessly into astounding detail regarding his experience in this ultra-secret organization but the gold is his knowledge base of the great-alignment phenomenon and the suggestion that ultra-advanced Avian Beings (Ra) have placed a cloaked grid around the solar system to buffer our entry into the high energy zone, to smooth things out as it were. This is all beyond ridiculous sounding, no... even Agent D has to admit it is absolutely impossible sounding. I love that it is impossible and ludicrous, because I would expect actual ET contact and cosmic revelations to occur in such a dramatic, mind blowing fashion - in a way that is bigger than our brains can absorb. Not only do we have Corey Good describing how our solar system has just been placed in a "lock-down" by supreme beings - we simultaneously have FLAWLESS, incoming bio-transmissions from trance-channelers such as Suzanna over at Universal Gateway which indicate supreme beings are disseminating to humans, some form of instructions on how to defend ourselves against mind control and self destruction during this hyper-space hoopla. I find it awfully coincidental that so many people are harping on about the same subject in such detail and intensity. The information is so profound, intense, and in some ways demanding, that I believe most readers simply tune-out and switch-off when they initially touch upon these articles and YouTube videos. As I stated before in previous blogger entries, I suspect many readers ignore these connect-the-dots facts because it simply does not agree with their preconceived notion of how ET-Human contact should unfold. I would crawl further out on the limb and say (nearly) all previous theories about disclosure or ET contact, have in themselves been a form of mind-control, to constantly keep people off the real trail, as it were. I'm not suggesting you should morph into some sort of "BELIEVER" or convert to particular wild theories, but I do suggest at a minimum simply be aware of subtle events around you and degausse the brain and shake off mass-cliche-expectations - even those originating from the established UFO community.
This great alignment information has been repeated several times from the EIRM (pronounced "ugh,, ermmm") so we once again have this odd, repeating collusion of data that reinforces itself through its sheer repetition and refusal to die out. Obviously, if our quadrant, our local solar system, our Earth is slowly entering into a high energy zone of the great galactic disk center and it is a cycle that occurs every twenty five thousand years, it is certainly not an ET or supreme being created event - it is a natural, cosmic event. It is however, a quantum phenomenon which ultra-advanced beings who live outside of time and space (as we know it) would be aware of and it would make sense that the galactic alignment would serve as focal point in a cosmic calendar for ETs and supreme beings existing in higher dimensions to take advantage of. In a nutshell, they would know about it and know exactly when its going to occur and in what manner. Supreme beings would "see it coming from a mile away" so to speak, even if we humans are not aware or not fully understanding. Entry into a galactic alignment zone could serve a higher, supreme force in ways we cannot imagine yet, but we know that quantum phenomenon is the nature of this gateway. This mystical, enigmatic energy could be and likely will be a catalyst for future activity that will see enlightened humans given a quantum level ability to interact with higher dimensional beings in a way that would otherwise not be possible, until one has died and entered higher realms through death and the loss of their 3D body or physical mass. Taking this to its wildest speculation and potential - we could be entering hyperspace not in death, but in physical form as living, breathing beings perhaps in some sort of quasi-density format whereby we are alive and solid, yet can move more freely through time and space and interact with a greater multiverse. This is all ongoing and I predict events will increase in intensity and escalate to a point of ET/Galactic contact and transformation of the collective human mind either through the field itself or perhaps through means not yet imagined.

It's been a while since we posted an Object Special Report and I feel that with all of this Secret Space Program whistle-blowing occurring right now this might be a good opportunity to share a personal experience involving one of my family members. I recently spoke with him and asked permission to tell his story to which he agreed as long as I changed the name and a few key dates.
Some Brief History
My cousin, we'll call him Douglas for the purposes of this article, spent over 15 years working for AT&T's research & development lab in Murray Hill, New Jersey as a high-level supercomputer technician with security clearance. I won't go into too much detail about what his job entailed, simply that his specialty was Cray supercomputers, of which AT&T had at least one at that time. This time frame I will be speaking of was 1981 to 1984, Doug had already worked for the company as a contractor for a number of years prior to this and was brought into full time employment with AT&T Labs in 1980. He is quickly approaching retirement age and hasn't worked for AT&T for quite some time which is why I can write about this now.
If you met Doug you would immediately realize how huge of a tech-geek he is, he's on top of the latest computer-tech news and you'll find him routinely fixing computers for friends and family. He graduated with a degree from a university in upstate New York and he has multiple technical certifications under his belt going back to the 70's. He is fundamentally an intelligent, tech savvy guy.
Obtaining Security Clearance
Early in 1981 almost everyone in the family as well as friends of ours were approached by agents from the FBI since the position Doug was accepting required a full background check as well as in-person interviews with family and friends. This is standard operating procedure for anyone accepting a job that requires a high level of security clearance. Douglas received his security clearance a few months later and began work at the Murray Hill research facility known at that time as Bell Labs. In 1984 it became "AT&T Bell Laboratories" and held that name until 1995.

In 1980, the TDMA and CDMA digital cellular telephone technology was patented. In 1982, Fractional quantum Hall effect was discovered by Horst Störmer and former Bell Laboratories researchers Robert B. Laughlin and Daniel C. Tsui; they consequently won a Nobel Prize in 1998 for the discovery. In 1986, the programming language C++ was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup as an extension to the original C language, also developed at Bell Laboratories. And in 1984, the first photoconductive antennas for picosecond electromagnetic radiation were demonstrated by Auston and others. This type of antenna became an important component in terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. So needless to say, AT&T/Bell Labs have been a crucial component of advanced telecom research for decades.

CRAY-1 Supercomputer
On a sweltering summer day in August of 1983 Doug was summoned to the Murray Hill facility to "swap out several HSD's on one of the CRAY 1 computers" by his supervisor. An HSD is a hot-swappable drive which at the time was a fairly new technology and only technicians who were properly trained to deal with such tech were allowed to work on these systems. Doug floated around between various facilities throughout the northeast as he was needed and was based out of a satellite office in Newark, NJ. He had been to the Murray Hill facility many times in the years prior to this but never to work specifically on one of the CRAYs, this one in particular being located in an underground level below the main facility.
When he arrived, he signed in and was quickly escorted by two armed guards both dressed in white button-down shirts with the Bell logo to an elevator which took them down to this sub-level. He wasn't sure how far down they went, only that it took the elevator less than a minute to reach this level. He guessed it was maybe 2 or 3 stories underground, there were no floor numbers in the elevator to indicate what level they were on. As the door opened one of the guards said to him, "Try not to look around too much, some of this stuff is above your pay grade" in a mildly sarcastic tone.
They exited the elevator into a small annex that had a listing of research labs along with lab room numbers and arrows pointing left and right to indicate the direction of each lab. They turned right into a long, brightly lit and fairly wide corridor. On both sides of this corridor were floor to ceiling length glass windows. Without being too conspicuous, Doug noted that most of the glass windows were brightly lit from within, but you could only see into a few of them, the rest appeared to be frosted glass. Years later he would learn that those windows were electrically polarized to keep prying eyes from seeing things they shouldn't. Regardless of this fact, one particular lab was fully visible and what he got a glimpse of would stick with him for the rest of his life.

In his own words, he describes what he saw.
"This was 1983 and robotics was still a new field so at the time I had no reference to compare this against. It wasn't until the following year that the movie Terminator hit theaters, and I swear to God what I saw in that lab looked exactly like the Terminator endoskeleton. It looked like a human being that had all of it's skin removed but instead of flesh and bone it had metallic tendons and muscles. It's skeleton was identical to a humans, it even had a full rib cage, only it was all metallic. I turned stark white when that endoskeleton crawled out of the fire at the end of the movie. I had already seen this thing in the basement of Bell Labs! It totally freaked me out."
He said there were several technicians working on this 'endoskeleton' which was laying on a table tilted at a 45 degree angle, almost like a dentist chair. He immediately wondered why they would have something like this on display, but thinking back on it later he figured they probably didn't know a technician was going to be coming down here on that particular day. He said the experience shook him to the core because it seemed so advanced and so far beyond what the known state of the art was at that time that it almost seemed 'alien' to him in some ways.
Meeting a CRAY
At the end of this corridor were a set of double-doors that opened up into a very large room with a high ceiling where the CRAY was located. This was one of the older "1" series machines which would be replaced by an X-MP/24 in November of 1985. The guards told him to use the phone to contact them when he was done so he could be escorted back out and reminded him not to leave the room. As they left, one of the doors was left cracked open as it apparently didn't automatically close. Moments later Doug hears a female voice very clearly say "Please close the door." He looked around expecting to see someone standing behind him. The voice said "This is a temperature controlled room, please close the door"and it was then he realized it was a computerized voice telling him this. Again, his mind was blown since this was all cutting edge technology at the time. It doesn't sound like much to us in 2016, but 30+ years ago this was stuff straight out of science-fiction movies. Literally.
CRAY X-MP/24 Supercomputer
Once he completed the drive swap, he called the guards as instructed and they showed up a few minutes later to retrieve him. Oddly enough, they took an entirely different route back to the top level via a stairwell at the end of a totally different hallway. Perhaps the guards realized their mistake in walking this computer tech down a hallway filled with research labs? That's purely speculative. They boarded an elevator one level up from where the CRAY was and returned to the ground level. I have to stress that this wasn't like some major underground base, this was simply a sub-basement level that was filled with individual labs. They walked past vending machines, break rooms and bathrooms, all very prosaic stuff. Aside from that android laying on the table, of course.
Pentiums Before There Were Pentiums
Another tidbit of information that I found fascinating, albeit not all that surprising, was the fact that scientists working at AT&T/Bell Labs in 1983 were using 90mhz Intel "Pentium" CPU's in their workstations. But wait Agent K, I thought the fifth-generation x86 architecture wasn't introduced to the market until 1993? That's correct folks, it wasn't released to the public for a full decade after it was introduced to the private research sector. Of course in 1983 it wasn't called the "Pentium" which was a name coined by Lexicon Branding, a company hired to give the new processor a catchy name instead of a numerical designation. Doug just internally referred to it as the "586 processor" at the time. Workstation components were being supplied directly to the labs from a development group within Intel. There were many instances where he would be sent to work on a machine that he had never seen before so he was usually given a resource to contact that would be able to answer technical questions he might have.

This wasn't the only thing he witnessed during his time at the labs. Most of the high-level research workstations were using flat glass display panels. The way Doug described these was like if you took the screen off one of the very first laptops ever to be introduced and attached it to a stand. It was still extremely early LCD technology so it wasn't the clearest or most colorful display, but more of them could be used in a given work space over the large footprint of CRT's. To put this in perspective, the first commercially available LCD TV was the Casio TV-10 which was introduced in 1983 and had standard definition resolution and poor color reproduction.
A few years later he said he spoke to another tech friend of his who also worked for the lab, he told Doug that he had seen some research being done on using lasers to write data on crystalline cubes in order to store vast amounts of information. It was fully rewritable and had the approximate footprint of a cube of sugar. When you really think about it this is all mind boggling stuff for some 30+ years ago.
So what is my point to all of this? The point is that the true level of state-of-the-art technology that private research corporations such as AT&T possess is decades ahead of what is available to the public. Not just years--decades. So when we see these whistle-blowers such as Corey Goode and William Tompkins talk about secret space program technology like 'glass pads' and kilometer-long spacecraft designs, it's not that far of a stretch to believe that this stuff all exists and has so for 60+ years. We live in a tightly controlled, tightly regulated atmosphere of technological disclosure. Sure, everything is constantly getting better, faster, smaller and cheaper. We now live in a world where we just replace and upgrade our existing technology with the 'next better thing' and the cycle continues to repeat itself. What we don't realize (yet) is the 'next better thing' is still at least two decades behind the true state of the art. Given knowledge like this, imagining a secret space program with electrogravitic ships and reverse engineered alien technology now seems almost mundane. Agent K

First Black Hole Orbiting a ‘Spinning’ Star
Spanish scientists have discovered the first binary system ever known to consist of a black hole and a ‘spinning’ star — or more accurately, a Be-type star. Although predicted by theory, none had previously been found. The observations that led to the discovery were performed with the Liverpool and Mercator telescopes at the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos (Canary Islands, Spain). The discovery is published today in Nature.
Be-type stars are quite common across the Universe. In our Galaxy alone more than 80 of them are known in binary systems together with neutron stars. ‘Their distinctive property is their strong centrifugal force: they rotate very fast, close to their break-up speed. It’s like they were cosmic spinning tops,’says Jorge Casares of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) and La Laguna University (ULL). Casares is the lead author and an expert in stellar-mass black holes (he presented the first solid proof of their existence back in 1992).
The newly discovered black hole orbits the Be star known as MWC 656, located in the constellation Lacerta (the Lizard) — 8,500 light years from Earth. The Be star rotates so fast that its surface speed exceeds 1 million kilometres per hour. ‘We started studying this star back in 2010, when space telescopes detected transient gamma-ray emission coming from its direction,’ explains Marc Ribó, of the Institut de Ciències del Cosmos of Barcelona University (ICC/IEEC-UB). ‘No more gamma-ray emission has subsequently been detected, but we found that the star was part of a binary system,’ he adds.
A detailed analysis of its spectrum allowed scientists to infer the characteristics of its companion. ‘It turned out to be an object with a mass between 3.8 and 6.9 solar masses. An object like that, invisible to telescopes and with such large mass, can only be a black hole, because no neutron star with more than three solar masses can exist,’ states Ignasi Ribas, of CSIC in the Instituto de Ciencias del Espacio (IEEC-CSIC).
The black hole orbits the (more massive) Be star and is fed by matter ejected from the latter. ‘The high rotation speed of the Be star causes matter to be ejected into an equatorial disc. This matter is attracted by the black hole and falls on to it, forming another disc — called an “accretion disc”‘. By studying the emission from the accretion disc we could analyse the motion of the black hole and measure its mass,’ comments Ignacio Negueruela, a lecturer at the University of Alicante (UA).
Scientists believe this object to be a nearby member of a hidden population of Be stars paired with black holes. ‘We think these systems are much more common than previously thought, but they’re difficult to detect because their black holes are fed from gas ejected by the Be stars without producing much radiation, in a “silent” way, so to speak. However, we hope to detect other similar binary systems in the Milky Way and other nearby galaxies by using bigger telescopes, such as the Gran Telescopio Canarias,’ concludes Casares.
Also participating in the study with Jorge Casares, Ignacio Negueruela, Marc Ribó and Ignasi Ribas are Josep M. Paredes , of Institut de Ciències del Cosmos of Barcelona University (ICC/IECC-UB) and Artemio Herrero and Sergio Simón, both from the IAC and ULL.
Black holes, an ongoing challenge
The detection of black holes has been a challenge since their existence was first surmised by John Michell and Pierre Laplace in the 18th century. Given that they are invisible — their enormous gravitational force prevents light from escaping — telescopes cannot detect them. However, black holes can occasionally trigger high energy radiation from the environment surrounding them and can thus be traced by X-ray satellites. This is the case with active black holes, fed by matter transferred from a nearby star. If violent X-ray emission is detected from a place where nothing but a normal star is seen, a black hole might be hiding there.
Using this method, researchers have discovered 55 potential black holes over the last 50 years. Seventeen of them have what astronomers call a ‘dynamic confirmation’: the feeding star has been localised, allowing for the mass of its invisible companion to be measured. If it is above three solar masses, then it is considered to be a black hole.
The biggest problem is put forth by ‘dormant’ black holes, such as the one found by the Spanish researchers: ‘Their X-ray emission is almost absent, and so it is very unlikely that our attention would be drawn to them,’ Casares explains. Researchers believe there are thousands of black hole binary systems across the Milky Way, some of them also with Be-type stellar companions.

Aurora UFO crash remains a Texas alien mystery

Aurora, Texas was Roswell before Roswell: a middle-of-nowhere town that suddenly became surrounded by legend when an alleged alien visitor crash-landed from outer space.
On this date in 1897 the alien UFO allegedly smashed into a windmill belonging to Judge J.S. Proctor. It’s pilot, who an officer from a local Army outpost described as a “Martian” and “not of this world” died and was buried in the cemetery nearby.
The reported crash was one of several American alien mysteries of the mid-1890s, but the most notable one (if not only) recorded in Texas.
Today, the only reminder of the visit, which occurred on this date in 1897, is a small historical marker near the Aurora Cemetery.
Buried deep in its stories of town founders and war heroes is a single line about the visitor supposedly buried in an unmarked grave there:
“The oldest known graves, here, dating from as early as the 1860s, are those of the Randall and Rowlett families. Finis Dudley Beauchamp (1825-1893), a Confederate veteran from Mississippi, donated the 3-acre site to the newly- formed Aurora Lodge No. 479, A.F. & A.M., in 1877. For many years, this community burial ground was known as Masonic Cemetery. Beauchamp, his wife Caroline (1829-1915), and others in their family. An epidemic which struck the village in 1891 added hundreds of graves to the plot. Called “Spotted Fever” by the settlers, the disease is now thought to be a form of meingitis. Located in Aurora Cemetery is the gravestone of the infant Nellie Burris (1891-1893) with its often-quoted epitaph: “As I was so soon done, I don’t know why I was begun.” This site is also well-known because of the legend that a spaceship crashed nearby in 1897 and the pilot, killed in the crash, was buried here. Struck by epidemic and crop failure and bypassed by the railroad, the original town of Aurora almost disappeared, but the cemetery remains in use with over 800 graves. Veterans of the Civil War, World Wars I and II, and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts are interred here.”
The single line seems about as interested as Aurora is in becoming famous from the supposed crash.
On the 110th anniversary of the crash, former Houston Chronicle writer Eyder Peralta (now with NPR)visited Aurora, 30 miles north of Fort Worth and found the townsfolk mostly apathetic about the alien visitor then, or the scores of new human visitors who have come to visit the infamous crash site.
The visitors had been fun at first, but when they began trampling the cemetery and stealing headstones and other artifacts from the city museum, the town’s notoriety became a nuisance.
In the 1970s, a group from the International UFO Bureau showed up to exhume the body – media in tow – but were turned away by angry residents.
“There was quite a mess,” one resident, Karen Tedrow, told Peralta. “The residents had guns and everything, because they didn’t want them to do it. And I understand, because my parents are buried there, and I don’t want them digging around. Earthly body or not, they ought to let it rest in peace.”
