Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

New Horizons stuurt laatste geheimpje van Pluto naar de aarde

Alle gegevens die New Horizons tijdens zijn scheervlucht langs Pluto – in juli vorig jaar – verzamelde, zijn nu in handen van onderzoekers.
Vijftien maanden had New Horizons nodig om de meer dan 50.000.000.000 bits aan informatie naar de aarde te sturen. Maar het is gelukt: alle info die de sonde verzamelde, is binnen. “Wij hebben onze pot met goud,” vertelt onderzoeker Alice Bowman hierover.
Werk aan de winkel! “De gegevens die New Horizons over Pluto heeft verzameld, hebben ons keer op keer versteld doen staan over de schoonheid en complexiteit van Pluto en zijn manen,” vertelt onderzoeker Alan Stern. “Er moet nog veel werk verzet worden om de meer dan 400 wetenschappelijke observaties die allemaal naar de aarde zijn gestuurd, te begrijpen. En dat is exact wat wij gaan doen.”
Grootse ontdekkingen New Horizons scheerde op 14 juli vorig jaar langs Pluto. Voorafgaand aan die scheervlucht wisten we eigenlijk niet hoe de dwergplaneet eruit zag en wat er op het oppervlak allemaal gaande was. Natuurlijk hadden onderzoekers daar wel ideeën over, maar wat heeft Pluto ons verrast! De dwergplaneet bleek veel spannender te zijn dan gedacht en onder meer bergen, kliffen en hoge nevels te bezitten. Tevens bezit Pluto de grootste gletsjer in het zonnestelsel en zijn er sterke aanwijzingen dat de dwergplaneet nog steeds geologisch actief is en er onder het oppervlak van Pluto wellicht een oceaan verborgen zit. En ook de manen van de dwergplaneet zijn spannender dan gedacht. Zo bezit Charon – de grootste maan van Pluto – één van de grootste klovensystemen die we ooit in ons zonnestelsel hebben gezien. En wie weet wat onderzoekers nog in de gegevens die New Horizons recentelijk naar de aarde stuurde, gaan ontdekken!

Op naar het volgende Kuipergordelobject! New Horizons haast zich ondertussen van Pluto vandaan. De sonde is alweer meer dan 565 miljoen kilometer van de dwergplaneet verwijderd en onderweg naar Kuipergordelobject 2014 MU69. Recente observaties suggereren dat dit Kuipergordelobject net zo rood of misschien zelfs roder is dan Pluto.
Onderzoekers zullen binnenkort nagaan of we werkelijk alle gegevens van Pluto binnen hebben. Als dat het geval is, zullen de twee recorders aan boord van New Horizons gewist worden. Zo wordt ruimte gemaakt voor de schat aan informatie die New Horizons tijdens zijn ontmoeting met 2014 MU69 gaat verzamelen. Die ontmoeting staat gepland voor 1 januari 2019.

The original rock where Jesus Christ is traditionally believed to have been buried in Jerusalem has been exposed to the light of day for the first time in centuries.
According to an exclusive report by National Geographic, a partner in the project at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the original rock surface has been covered with marble slabs since at least 1555, and possibly longer. During a conservation project to shore up the shrine surrounding the tomb, a team from the National Technical University of Athens in Greece realized that they would need to access the substructure of the shrine to restore it, said Fredrik Hiebert, the archaeologist-in-residence at the National Geographic Society. "The Greek conservation group are the first, as far as we know, to actually open this," Hiebert told Live Science. "It's pretty exceptional."
Holy site
Some theological historians believe that Jesus was a real man who was born sometime around the year 1 or earlier in Bethlehem in modern-day Palestine, only later to move to Nazareth in Israel. He is thought to have died around the year 29.

Scientists were surprised at how much of the original cave structure remained, said National Geographic archaeologist-in-residence Fredrik Hiebert.

The site venerated as the tomb of Jesus is encased in structures like a Russian nesting doll. According to the Hebrew Bible, Jesus was laid to rest on a stone platform in a cave hewn out of a rock wall. In 326, the first Christian emperor of Rome, Constantine, sent his mother, Helena, as a representative to Jerusalem, where locals pointed out one cave among an area of first-century burials that was said to hold the tomb of Jesus.
Constantine had a shrine installed over the cave. The original top of the cave was removed so that pilgrims could look down and view the slab where Jesus' body was said to have rested. This shrine is known as the Holy Edicule, and it was last reconstructed after a fire in the early 1800s, according to National Geographic. [See Images of Jesus' House and Nazareth Artifacts]
The Holy Edicule itself sits within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or Church of the Resurrection, which is a famed pilgrimage site and working monastery. It's built directly over the cave where Jesus was said to be buried; another wing sits over the site where he is said to have been crucified. Three sects jointly manage the site: the Greek Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church and the Armenian Orthodox Church. The three groups agreed in 1958 that conservation of the Edicule was necessary, but it's taken nearly 50 years to agree on a method and to secure funding. (According to National Geographic, the project will cost more than $4 million.)
"There was a moment in which you could see on the faces of the important people of the church, a certain happiness that this has actually happened," Hiebert said of the conservation.
Shoring up history
A grid of iron bars installed in the 1940s held the Edicule structure upright until the project started. Now, Hiebert said, the Greek team — with years of experience under their belts of shoring up ancient structures like the Parthenon — will inject mortar around the marble slabs that make up the Edicule.
"This will permanently restore them, and it won't need supports," Hiebert said.
The conservation team was surprised at how much of the original cave structure remains, he said. They've peeled back marble slabs from the 19th century that were in turn covering slabs from the 15th century, covering slabs from the 12th century, which themselves shield the original bedrock.
As to whether the tomb ever contained the remains of the historicalJesus, "it's a matter of faith," Hiebert said. There are no remains to analyze or DNA evidence to exhume. There is scholarly debate over whether Jesus even existed, said Robert Cargill, an archaeologist and author of "The Cities that Built the Bible" (HarperOne, 2016). A minority of historians think Jesus was a literary construct, said Cargill, who was not involved in the new tomb project, while others think a real person named Jesusexisted but that little is known about him.
"We know that Romans crucified people and that people were buried there" in the first and second centuries, Cargill told Live Science. It's also known that there was an oral tradition about the site of Jesus' burial 300 years later, when Helena came to visit Jerusalem.
"We still don't have any [archaeological] evidence that Jesus was crucified, nor do we have evidence that he was crucified there beneath the Church of the Holy Sepulchre," Cargill said.
Nevertheless, Cargill said, the site is an important one for early Christianity and for the Christian cultural tradition.
"It has been a sacred place for 1,600 years," he said.
The excavations are unlikely to reveal anything new about the history of early Christianity, particularly since the current Edicule structure is only about 200 years old, Cargill said. However, the conservation project has opened up a new view of this old site.
"You can actually look down onto the rock from above, which you couldn't do when the Edicule is actually there," Cargill said. "That's a perspective that most people haven't seen."

A satellite image showing peculiar hexagonal clouds over the ocean area known as the Bermuda Triangle is prompting speculation about whether they may represent a recurring phenomenon responsible for decades of unexplained disappearances in the region.
The photo appeared in the Science Channel's "What on Earth"? series in a recent episode about the Bermuda Triangle, a loosely defined area bound on the west by the tip of Florida, to the south by Puerto Rico and to the north by Bermuda. In the image, oddly shaped cloud networks hovered above the triangle's western tip, off the coast of Florida, over the Bahamas. Seen from above, the clouds appeared to form six-sided outlines, like honeycombs, with hard edges. They range in size from 20 to 55 miles (32 to 89 kilometers) across, according to the Science Channel.
According to the Science Channel, similar cloud formations in the North Sea near the U.K. have been associated with so-called "air bombs" — powerful downdrafts of air that could overpower and destroy ships and airplanes. But even though the clouds over the North Sea and the Bahamas may look the same, they likely have different causes and interact with the ocean below in different ways, experts say. The image over the Bahamas was captured in 2002 by NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument on the Terra satellite. The Science Channel described the hexagons as measuring approximately 20 to 55 miles across, and invited comparison to an image of a similar cloud configuration 4,500 miles (7,200 km) away, over the North Sea.
Randy Cerveny, a meteorologist at Arizona State University, told the Science Channel that the hexagonal shapes were signatures of "microbursts," rapid and highly focused blasts of downward-moving air that can generate sea-surface winds reaching nearly 100 mph (161 km/h) and ocean waves towering more than 40 feet (12 meters) high — which could certainly wreak havoc on the sea surface and any vessel on or near it.

According to the Science Channel, radar images of the North Sea clouds did reveal underlying wind gusts close to 100 mph. However, the episode did not present any evidence that similar winds battered the Atlantic Ocean under the hexagonal clouds seen over the Bahamas in 2002, saying only that "scientists believe" the same winds existed.
And meteorologist Kevin Corriveau told NBC Newsthat the hexagonal shape of the Bermuda clouds did not display the distinctive signature of a microburst.
"You would normally have one large to extremely large thunderstorm that wouldn't have an opening in the middle," he said.
He explained that the weather patterns in the two areas were too different to allow comparisons between similar cloud shapes. Moreover, the peculiar formations in the Bahamas may have occurred because of erratic weather patterns created by small islands heating the air differently than the Florida coastline.
"I wouldn't say what we're seeing in the Bahamas is the exact same as in the North Sea," Corriveau said.

Honeycomb cloud networks are actually a regular occurrence under certain conditions in the mid-latitudes, according to NASA — they can take shape as part of a low-pressure system or cyclone when cold air masses move over warm water. And they can form as open-cell clouds — cloud outlines surrounding an empty space — or closed-cell clouds, which are solid shapes.
Since the 1940s, dozens of ships and airplanes have gone missing while traveling through the Bermuda Triangle. Disappearances were blamed on numerous implausible culprits, from the lost city of Atlantis to deep-sea methane blasts.
Equipment failure and human error are less dramatic explanations for vanished vessels in the Bermuda Triangle, but they are the most likely ones, experts say. "There is no evidence that mysterious disappearances occur with any greater frequency in the Bermuda Triangle than in any other large, well-traveled area of the ocean," the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said in a statement.
In June of this year I wrote an article here at Mysterious Universe titled “Libraries and Strange and Sinister Encounters.” It told the eerie tale of a UK-based UFO researcher, Nigel Wright. It was a story concerning UFOs, a library, and a mysterious “Woman in White.” Such “library cases” are far from being rare. I have far more than a few in my files, several of which I’m sharing with you now.
In 1967, John Keel investigated the odd case of Jane (actually a woman named Jaye Paro), who, after having a UFO encounter that had a “missing time” component to it, had a weird library-based experience. It was in May 1967 when the strange affair went down, and the location was the Mount Misery area of Huntington, New York. A couple of days after the encounter, something occurred that is a common factor in both MIB and Women in Black encounters: Jane received an odd and somewhat disturbing telephone call. The mysterious woman at the other end of the line did not identify herself to Jane. Instead, in a weird, “metallic”-sounding style, she instructed Jane to go to her local library, to ask the staff for a specific book on Native American history, and to then turn to page forty-two and read it. Very carefully. It was an extremely curious request, but Jane felt oddly drawn to follow the instructions of her anonymous woman.
Jane reached the library around mid-morning. Even her arrival was dominated by profound oddities: aside from the librarian and Jane herself, the building was completely empty of people and was vacuum-like in its silence and stillness. As for that same librarian, Jane described her as only a Woman in Black can be described: her hair was black, her eyes were “very black,” her skin was olive, and her black-colored outfit was curiously out of time. In Jane’s words, the WIB was dressed in “an old-fashioned suit like something out of the 1940s, with a long skirt, broad shoulders, and flat old-looking shoes.” Most astonishing of all, before Jane could say anything, the WIB handed her – from under a desk – a copy of the very book Jane had been instructed to seek out by her mysterious caller.
Jane, unsettled, but determined to find out what was going on, took a seat, opened the book and turned to page forty-two. As she did so, the writing on the page changed from large to small, and back again, several times. Rather amazingly, the writing then did something else: it morphed into a message. Jane was able to remember the entire, length message – word for word – something which suggested it had been subliminally implanted in her mind. She carefully wrote it down:
“Good morning, friend. You have been selected for many reasons. One is that you are advanced in auto-suggestion. Through this science we will make contact. I have messages concerning Earth and its people. The time is set. Fear not. I am a friend. For reasons best known to ourselves you must make your contacts known to one reliable person. To break this code is to break contact. Proof shall be given. Notes must be kept of the suggestion state. Be in peace.”
With that, Jane stood up from the chair and closed the book. The WIB was nowhere to be seen. Jane was all alone in a deserted, silent library. To say she fled the place in terror would be an understatement. Still focused on 1967, we have the following…
Gareth J. Medway, who has compiled an excellent resource tool for anyone wanting to learn about the history of Men in Black encounters, says of an October 1967 case: “Mrs. B. of Mamosa, San Luis Valley, Colorado, who had made a painting of a crescent UFO that she had seen, was visited by a man who told her: ‘I cannot read, but mention any book in any library and I will be able to tell you its contents [italics mine].’ He went on to say that humans waste too much time and energy on food ‘when it could all be so easily taken from the atmosphere.’ He insisted on buying her painting, so she set a high price, to which he replied that he had no money. He departed in a car which had an Arizona registration; months later police said they could not trace the plates.”
Peter Rojcewicz had a deeply strange, library-based encounter in November 1980. On the day in question, Rojcewicz was working on his PhD thesis in folklore. It was while doing research at the Library of the University of Pennsylvania that something very weird happened to Rojcewicz. He said: “It was a strange day, weather-wise, with erratic shifts of rain and wind and sun. It would get very blustery, and then it would become very calm. It was approximately 4:30 P.M. and already on the dark side.”
As Rojcewicz studied hard, and as nightfall loomed, he suddenly became aware of a darkly-clad, tall and thin man in his midst. The odd character had tanned skin, black and greasy hair, sunken eyes, and a hard to define accent, but one which had a strong European flavor to it. In addition, he wore a Texan-style string tie. The man asked Rojcewicz what he was working on, and Rojcewicz told him that he was researching the UFO phenomenon. The MIB then proceeded to ask Rojcewicz if he had ever seen a UFO. He replied he was more interested in accounts of UFOs than whether or not they were alien craft. The MIB was not happy by Rojcewicz’s response. In a loud voice he said, ‘Flying saucers are the most important fact of the century, and you’re not interested?!’ The man then stood up – ‘as if mechanically lifted’ – put his hand on Rojcewicz’ shoulder, and added, as he walked away, ‘Go well in your purpose.'”
What does all this mean? I haven’t a clue! But, such reports proliferate – as do encounters with the MIB and WIB in bookstores, which is an equally strange issue I will return to at a later date.
1947-era documentation relative to the Roswell affair of July of that year is not non-existent. It is, however, certainly rare. One piece of documentation – not of military origin, but which came from a German citizen in the immediate wake of the controversial affair – is worth noting.
It’s a curious and interesting letter, to be sure. It was written by one Heinz-Adalbert Ahuis (see this link for information on Ahuis). At the time, he lived at 23 Asnabruck, Hansa-Str. 7, in what was then the British Zone of Germany. In his letter, which was sent to the American Embassy, and that was marked “Strongly Secret!”
Ahuis wrote:
“Dear Excellency: “Last few weeks in American and German papers I read much about the so-called ‘flying discs’ (or ‘flying targets’) that are said to be seen suddenly coming up in some states of your country, and that are disquieting your publicity so much. I would like to examine more accurate the type that came down near Roswell (New Mexico). Please, do also take this matter as serious as it really is, and do not think it a vision.”

Ahuis continued: “Just concerning this I am an expert. I am very skeptically as to the ‘calming-explanation’ of Brigadier General Roger Ramey and others, who say that these disks are merely meteorological observation-balloons – or supplements of them – etc. I am interested in this business very much, and so is the American Army, I am sure. In connection herewith and in order to explain my odd wish, Excellency, I must inform you of the following.”
Ahuis got to the point of his communication: “Since 1929 till the end of the war by the way as a hobby I occupied myself – completely interested in sport only – in developing flying-models of all kind and shape, chiefly sail-planes and rocket types. Sailplane-soaring was and still is my favorite sport. With my researches in 1936, among others, I met also the idea of the ‘flying disks’ and pursued it, considering it already at that time once to be of any importance. Later I searched into the qualities of this model in connection with rocket-experiments, and about the good result I was extremely surprised. (Nowadays we could already use atomic power, too).

“I found, that my models of a ‘flying disk’ – in smaller and bigger size – 1.) for the investigation of the sphere, 2.) for military aims, and 3.) for the air-traffic of the future could and presumably will play a not too undervaluing figure, and in many a point even it will be superior to all other planes and rocket-projectiles, including the German ‘V-2 – rocket’ you know already; for I think it possible, manned_disks 1.) to fly every course we want, and 2.) to and safely again, (what we cannot absolutely affirm 3.) the most rocket-constructions know until today).”

Ahuis signed-off: “I am ready to continue my researches and developments of such a kind of disk-models and disk-planes (as well as still other very interesting ones) on a place in U.S.A. that seems fit for that purpose. Perhaps I may come and see you once to talk about some details necessary?”
To what extent – if at all – Ahuis’ letter was followed up on remains unknown. Maybe, he just wanted to get the hell out of war-torn Germany and he used his UFO-themed letter as a form of leverage. We’ll probably never know.

At the dawning of the 20th century, a man named Oscar Frederickson, of Lake Winnipegosis, Canada wrote a fascinating and extensive report on his knowledge of huge lake monsters in the early decades of the twentieth century, all of which came from witnesses, both first- and second-hand.
He began his account like this: “In 1903, I lived with my parents on Red Deer Point, Lake Winnipegosis. Our house was situated about two hundred yards from the shore. About a mile south of our place lived a man by the name of Ferdinand Stark. One day Stark was down by the lake shore when he saw what he thought was a huge creature in the lake. It was moving northward along the shore, a short distance out.”
Fredericson continued: “Stark wanted someone else to see the strange animal, and as we were his nearest neighbors, he came running along the lake to our place. All the while, he could see the creature moving in the same direction as he was, only going a little slower than he was running. Stark arrived at our home very much excited and breathing heavily, and asked my dad and mother to hurry down to the lake to see a strange animal in the water. By the time my parents got down to the lake shore, there was nothing to be seen. Whatever Stark had seen had disappeared. Looking somewhat bewildered, but still visibly excited, Stark began to describe what he had seen. All he could see of the creature was its big back sticking out of the water, and it was very dark or black in color. A number of gulls followed it and kept flying down to it as if they were picking at it. My parents did see quite a number of gulls still flying around.”
Fredericson was not done with lake monsters: he had just gotten started. “In 1935, Mr. Cecil Rogers of Mafeking and I made a trip to Grand Rapids on Lake Winnipegosis. While there, I called on Mr. Valentine McKay, a resident of Grand Rapids for many years. As we were talking, the conversation drifted to strange animals that had existed at one time. To my surprise, McKay said he had seen some such animal in Lake Winnipegosis.”
McKay, very pleased by the fact that Frederickson took his story seriously and did not poke fun at him, prepared a carefully written statement for the monster hunter, which read as follows: “In September, 1909, I was traveling alone in a canoe from Shoal River on Lake Winnipegosis to Grand Rapids on Lake Winnipeg. At the time I saw this animal I was standing on the lake shore. I had stopped at Graves’ Point to make tea. I was at the edge of the bush getting willows for a campfire, when I heard a rumbling sound like distant thunder. As I looked out on the glassy surface of the calm water, I saw a huge creature propelling itself on the surface of the water about four hundred yards out from shore. A large part must have been submerged, judging by the great disturbance of the water around it.
“The creature’s dark skin glistened in the autumn sun, and I estimated it was moving at the rate of two to three miles an hour. As I watched it, a member of the body shot up about four feet, vertically, out of the water. This portion seemed to have something to do with the creature’s method of locomotion. The course it was taking was toward Sugar Island or Steep Rock. I watched it till it went out of sight. The number of gills, hovering around this creature, followed it as far as I could see.”
Frederickson had something notable to say on this particular story: “Mr. McKay said he had described this creature to a geologist by the name of Craig who said it was quite possible that it was a remaining specimen of a prehistoric animal that was once plentiful.”

On the matter of the two men in question – Ferdinand Stark and Valentine McKay – Frederickson made a number of observations and comments: “A great many people will think these two men just made up a story about seeing some strange animal or creature in Lake Winnipegosis. But, it is hardly probable that both men would think up a yarn about the gulls. Stark and McKay never met, as far as I could find out. Stark moved from Winnipegosis about 1904 or 1905, and where he is now, if still living, I have not been able to find out.”
Frederickson had yet another account to relate on this particular matter of unidentified, large beasts on the loose in the early part of the twentieth century: “In 1934, Captain Sandy Vance lived on Graves’ Point. One day he was over at Sitting Island, which is on the northeast side of the point. He saw what he thought was a huge animal a short distance off shore. Vance said it was the biggest living creature he had ever seen in water. Mr. Vance had been captain on freight tugs for many years on Lake Winnipeg and Lake Winnipegosis. He said he had often seen moose and deer in water, so there is no reason not to believe that he saw some str.ange living creature. Captain Vance died some years ago. He was well known here”
And, finally, there is the following, short but intriguing, account from Frederickson: “There are quite a few Natives who have seen some strange thing. They call it ‘the big snake.’ Those of Shoal River claim that a monstrous animal was seen often off Sugar Island and Steep Rock in Dawson Bay during the latter part of the 19th century.”
Descending the side of the Roccamonfina Volcano in northern Italy, sets of humanoid footprints had long been considered the imprint of the Devil, for the footprints were most certainly made when the slope of the volcano was molten. And who but the Devil could walk on flowing lava without burning his feet? Since the ancient footprints? discovery in the late 18th century, the local people assumed that the Ciampate del Diavolo (Devil?s Footprints) were evidence of the demon coming out of hell through the crater of the volcano and joining mankind on Earth. This theory held for over two centuries until 2002, when two amateur archaeologists brought the trail to the attention of the world.

Footprints of ancient humans are rarely so well preserved in an open environment. Experts believe that these tracks were impressed into a volcanic pyroclastic flow- typically consisting of ash, pumice, and rock fragments – and were then covered with volcanic ash. A paper published by the Univeristy of Padua team states, ?Stratigraphical studies demonstrated that the sediments are pyroclastic density current deposits, results of multiple collapses of a Sub-Plinian eruptive column of Roccamonfina volcano?the trampled surface was covered with another pyroclastic flow? (Santello, 2008). It was not until the late 18th/ early 19th century that erosion had sufficiently worn aware the volcanic layers to reveal the prints.

Of the many remarkable features of the Devil?s Footprints, one of the most striking is the occasional handprint found alongside them on the cliff face of the volcano. This suggests that the tracks were made by hominids that walked upright but needed to steady themselves as they made the perilous descent down the steep slope. This theory is reinforced by evidence that suggests the track makers carefully chose their paths down the mountainside. The first set of tracks, consisting of 27 footprints, forms the shape of a ?Z?, suggesting the walker adopted the switchback technique of going downhill. The second and third set of tracks, consisting of 19 and 10 tracks respectively, go down the slope in relatively straight lines. All the tracks were made by walking, not running.
These tracks give us unique insight into the activities of some of the earliest known Europeans,? said Paolo Mietto from the University of Padua. ?No previous records of prelate Pleistocene tracks are known that show associated hand prints, nor are there any such striking examples of deliberate efforts to negotiate steep surfaces.?
The researchers believe that the makers of the tracks were fully bipedal (two-footed) hominids with a freestanding gait (meaning they only needed to use their arms for support or to regain balance). ?These tracks were made by pre-sapien species, possibly a late European Homo Erectus or Homo Heidelbergensis? said Mietto, mentioning a Neanderthal forerunner. The footprints are approximately 8 inches (20cm) long and 4 inches (10cm) wide. The average stride is about 4 feet (1.2 m) and the average space between the two feet is about two feet (0.6m). Today, we may never know what people were doing up on the volcano. Given that all the tracks lead in the same direction- away from the volcano?s crater ? a widely held theory posits that the hominids were descending the volcano to escape the eruption. ?During the repose period between an eruptive event and the following one of the same volcanic series, meteoric precipitations occurred, saturating the surface. Then numerous hominids walked over the plastic and relatively cold surface, leaving the traces of their passage? (Santello, 2008).
In other words, ?It is reasonable to infer that these humans actually witnessed the eruption,? said Mietto.
While the Devil?s Footprints are the oldest preserved footprints of the Homo genus, they are not the oldest hominid footprints; that honor belongs to the famed Laetoli footsteps in Tanzania, tracks left 3.5 million years ago by the human ancestor Australopithecus afarensis.
Do other realities brush up against our own? Are there parallel dimensions lying just beyond through some thin, untraceable veil separating us? The idea of parallel realities beyond our own is not new, yet what if this phenomenon were to come bursting forth from the realm of theory and speculation and come crashing down into the now? Are there perhaps some people who have stepped over that barrier into domains we have not yet to see and which we may indeed not even be meant to see? I have covered such alleged excursions into the horizon beyond our known reality here at Mysterious Universe before, and here I will revisit this topic with a selection of other cases that seem to imply the possibility that not only are parallel dimensions real, but that they are destinations to which we can be whisked away, whether intentional or not.
In the September, 1956 issue of Fate Magazine there was the curious story of a woman who apparently shifted into another parallel universe in 1934. According to the report, in the fall of that year a woman by the name of Miriam Golding had a profoundly unusual experience while riding an elevator with her fiancee in Chicago. The elevator was crowded, and when Miriam made a mistake and got off at the wrong floor she found that she could not push her way back in past the throng of people and resigned herself to waiting for the next one. That was when she looked around and was startled to realize that she was no longer in the store at all, but rather an expansive train station.
The enormous railway station she found herself in was allegedly bustling with fevered activity, with throngs of travelers rushing to their trains and booming announcements of arrivals and departures echoing through the air. There seemed to be no way this busy place could have any connection whatsoever to the music store she had been in moments before. The confused Miriam made her way to an information booth to ask where she was, but found that the woman working there completely ignored her, as if she weren’t there at all. Perplexed, Miriam followed a series of signs pointing the way to the street outside, and she emerged out into a mild, sunny afternoon that seemed to be in the midst of summer rather than fall, in a place that was most certainly not Chicago.
She wandered about in confusion and noticed that everyone around her seemed to completely ignore her and walk on by as if they did not even see her. At some point she claims that she saw a confused looking boy standing in the sidewalk similarly being passed on by people who seemed to have no idea he was even there, and Miriam approached him wondering what was going on. The boy was able to actually see and respond to her, and looked in her direction, the first time anyone had acknowledged her presence in this strange, surreal place. As she approached, the boy seemed equally relieved that he was visible to Miriam, smiled slightly and purportedly saying: “I guess they let you off at the wrong stop, too.”
The two lost people walked together down the street in confusion, the whole time completely ignored by those around them, and the boy told Miriam of what had happened to him. He claimed that he had been playing tennis in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the United States, and had gone to the locker room to change his shoes. When he had gone back to the courts to play some more he had found that the tennis courts that had been there moments before were now gone and in their place was a huge train terminal, which had turned out to be the exact same station into which Miriam had enigmatically entered from the elevator.
The two allegedly kept on walking until they reached an open area that led to water, and over the waves they could apparently make out a sand bar with several women upon it chatting and seeming to act as if nothing was beyond the ordinary. To Miriam’s astonishment, one of the women was oddly her fiancee’s sister. The women out on the sandbar seemed to notice them and began waving and shouting to Miriam and her companion. This encouraged the boy to try and make a swim out to the sandbar, which did not seem so far and which he was confident he could reach. Yet even though he was a good swimmer it seemed that no matter how much he tried and pushed against the waves, he was unable to draw any closer to the mysterious sandbar and he returned to shore in frustration. It was then that the sandbar supposedly suddenly vanished into thin air.
Miriam closed her eyes in exasperation, disappointment, and exhaustion, and then was overcome by the sensation of floating through space. After some time of this odd feeling of hovering in darkness she claimed that she suddenly opened her eyes to find herself sitting atop a stool in the music store in Chicago, which seemed to be in the process of closing for the night, suggesting that she had been there for at least several hours. Disoriented, Miriam looked around for her fiancee but could not find him and decided to head back to his home. When she arrived, her fiancee was noticeably relieved and explained that he had lost her in the store and had waited for her to come to the right floor for a few hours before deciding to go back home. Bizarrely, the fiancee’s sister, whom Miriam had seen on the mysterious sandbar earlier, claimed that she had seen Miriam in town and had even called out to her, but that she had been too absorbed in talking to a young boy to notice her. Where did Miriam go during that time? Why should she see her fiancee’s sister on a sandbar while the sister had seen her in town, all while they could not reach across to communicate? Were they separated by strange barriers we do not and may not ever understand? It is a mystery.
Another strange article in the April, 1959 issue of Fate Magazine tells of the weird experience of a Frances E. Peterson of Keokuk, Iowa, who in 1935 was traveling home with her husband and four children from a weekend trip to Missouri. On the way they noticed what looked like a quaint, scenic detour in the area of St. Patrick and they whimsically took it, driving along the rustic, quiet scenery until they reached the rim of an expansive valley. In addition to the picturesque scenery was the rather odd sight of several women in old-fashioned sun bonnets and long skirts and aprons busily pulling water from a well into simple wooden buckets and carrying them off on wooden poles balanced across their shoulders. There were men here as well, who all had beards and wore similarly old-fashioned clothes such as smocks and large black hats, and who were tending flocks of sheep and goats or collecting firewood. Enamored with the quaint, charming scene, they later asked locals what the settlement was, yet were told that no such place had ever existed. Convinced that it did indeed exist, Peterson and her husband returned to the area several times afterwards, but could find no sign of the valley they had seen or its unusual inhabitants, suggesting that either the family or the place they had visited had been temporarily transported over some little understood thin spot between realities.
In another similarly strange road story from 1962, a Mr. R. W. Balcom and his wife were driving to Lake Tahoe from their home in Live Oak, California. The couple stopped at a quaint restaurant nestled away off of Highway 50 a few miles from Placerville. They had never noticed the restaurant there before in all of their years of traveling along the same route, even though it seemed from its weathered, rustic look to have been there for years, and they decided to stop there for a bite to eat. The food was described as being surprisingly good and the service was cordial and friendly, so they decided that they would visit again. On their return trip from Lake Tahoe they attempted to seek out the charming little restaurant to eat there again, but when they arrived at the location it was reportedly gone as if it had never been there at all. Perplexed, the couple supposedly spent three more weekends traveling through the area in an effort to find the restaurant that they were convinced was there, but never found it again. Did Balcom and his wife travel to a parallel universe for lunch? No one knows.
An intriguing case of a mysterious doorway to another dimension and perhaps even through time itself occurred in 1956, when a treasure hunter by the name of Ron Quinn ventured with his brother Chuck and some friends into the remote and rugged mountains of Southeastern Arizona looking for mysterious lost Spanish treasures and gold mines. The case begins with high strangeness and only gets more bizarre as it goes on. Three weeks into their adventure, the treasure hunters set up camp one night, and that evening they were surprised to see two large balls of bluish green light floating about in the darkened, starry sky. The bewildered campers determined that these were not flares of any kind, nor any sort of known aircraft. The weird balls of light hovered about for several minutes before vanishing behind some mountain peaks. The next evening, the same phenomenon was witnessed again. When they mentioned the strange lights to a local cowboy named Louie Romero, he informed them that the unexplained lights were a recurring phenomenon in the area, and had been seen as far back as 1939. The group would spot the strange lights several more times over the course of their excursion.

At one point during their travels, the group passed by what looked like a stone archway, which stood out as something of an anomaly upon the landscape, looking decidedly out of place, yet they didn’t think much of it until later, when they spoke to a Native local named John, who claimed that the archway had long been surrounded by strange stories and rumors that anyone who entered the doorway never came out, and that objects thrown in would not emerge from the other side, earning the structure the name “Doorway of the Gods.” There were also stories of the archway shimmering, and of strange figures lurking around it dressed in old fashioned clothing that did not seem to be ghosts, as they disturbed the gravel where they stepped and cast shadows, yet they would suddenly vanish. There were also tales of camps near the archway that had been mysteriously abandoned and of prospectors who had never returned from the area. John relayed his own tale of strangeness concerning the archway, claiming that one dark and stormy day he had visited it and peered through it to see that, although the scenery was the same, the sky was oddly clear and blue on the other side. When he looked around the edge of the doorway, the clouds were once again dark and thick, hanging menacingly over the scene, and the bizarre sight with its contrasting views frightened him.
Enthralled with these odd stories, Quinn and his group went back through the perilous rocky terrain to find the mysterious archway and investigate it. They managed to locate the strange looking structure once again, and upon closer inspection it proved to be surrounded with an unusually large deposit of geodes, some of which were broken open with their interiors glittering in the sun. The archway itself was measured as being around 7 feet high and 5 feet wide, with columns of andesite 15 inches diameter and it stood beside a steep, rocky slope. After checking it out, the team went to work testing out the weird stories by throwing various rocks through the opening, but the rocks all mundanely fell to the ground on the other side and there was no sign of anything remotely mysterious whatsoever. Increasingly skeptical, some of the members of the team boldly put their arms through without incident, although no one was willing to try stepping all the way through. After around an hour of this, they departed no closer to understanding the supposed mystery of this location. However, a weird series of events would unfold in the coming days that would make them think that something strange was going on.

One day as they were checking out the portal yet again and collect some of the geodes, Roy and another member of the team, Walt, noticed that the stone portal seemed to be shimmering as if simmering in intense heat, even though it was a cold January day. The odd shimmering allegedly lasted a few minutes, during which time both men claimed that they could feel a building pressure within their ears, before the shimmering and the weird physical sensation slowly ebbed away. The inexplicable event spooked both of them, especially Roy, who vowed never to go anywhere near the archway again. On another occasion, the group came across another group of three treasure hunters who claimed that they had also camped out near the mysterious stone portal. The group claimed that that evening their camp had been hit by what sounded like rain hitting their tents, even though it was a clear night. Looking out of their tents, they were met with the sight of small, reddish brown pebbles around the size of a pea falling in great numbers from above. The pebbles were found to be warm to the touch and there was no explanation for where they came from. They had seemed to be made of some king of iron ore.
All of these escalating odd occurrences would point to something decidedly strange going on at the archway, but the most bizarre incident would happen years after the expedition was over. Four years after that fateful treasure hunt, on October 14, 1973, Chuck Quinn was compelled to make a personal trip to the site of the stone portal that had eluded their understanding, and arrived at the canyon that led up to the slopes that would lead up to the site. Chuck went about climbing up the steep, rocky slopes towards the archway, stopping for a breather about halfway up the harrowing climb. It was here as he looked out west over the majestic scenery all around him that he noticed that there was a canyon that should not have been there. Baffled, he made his way back down the slope to enter from the east, and it was here that he realized that in fact he was in the same canyon he had been in before, only he had somehow been transported 250 yards down the canyon he had hiked along, and to another slope that was facing south rather than west. The strange event convinced him that indeed there was something strange going on here, and hastily left the scene. Was this some sort of doorway to another dimension or merely tall tales?
One wonders if perhaps some of the more bizarre vanishings and reappearances of people also have some form of interdimensional shift at their core. At about 7:00 P.M. on August 15, 1960, 6-year-old Kathy Cramer, of Wood’s Hole, Massachusetts simply vanished from her room in her home. Her parents had checked on her when she was sleeping one minute, and the next she was gone without a trace. When authorities arrived the house was searched top to bottom, and no signs of forced entry or a struggle could be found. Cathy’s bed seemed to be in a peaceful state, with no sign of being disturbed in any kind of confrontation. The window to the room was also closed and showed no signs of anyone coming in or going out that way.
An intensive search was immediately launched, composed of hundreds of people including police, firemen, volunteers, airmen from nearby Otis Air Force Base, and bloodhounds, as well as the Coast Guard scouring the nearby coast, yet absolutely no evidence of the missing girl could be found anywhere. She had simply vanished off the face of the earth. Then later, at 3AM on that same evening, Cathy’s very worried parents went into to her room to be startled by the sight of their missing daughter sleeping peacefully in her bed as if she had never been gone. When she was asked about where she had been, the girl gave the cryptic response of “I’m not telling.” What in the world happened to this little girl? How could a 6-year-old disappear from her bed, elude an intensive search by various professionals, and then reappear fast asleep exactly where she had vanished? Is this also perhaps an example of someone crossing through the veil between realities to pass temporarily into some parallel world or dimension? The only person who knows the answer to that is Cathy Cramer herself, and she’s not telling.
So are any of these accounts somehow anchored in any way to reality as we know it? Are these the realm of the lost mind untethered, spinning fantastical tales either out of hallucination, insanity, or an irrational attempt to make sense of distorted perceptions? Can this all simply be explained away somehow or is there a genuine phenomenon hinting at forces of the universe we have yet to comprehend buried within these disparate accounts? Are we perhaps just one of many alternate realities stacked upon one another and which between slips, shifting and travel are possible? The answers are elusive, and we may continue to pour over and debate them forever. However as long as there is the probability and possibility of worlds beyond our own there will always be those who look out into our universe, or perhaps inward, to seek to try to grasp just what this all might mean. In the meantime, cases like this will remain a tantalizing peek into what just may be out there beyond our grasp to conceive of it.

New Study Claims Life on Mars Discovered in 1976 by Viking 1
While most of the space world is waiting (as of this writing) for word whether the European Space Agency?s Schiaparelli EDM lander successfully landed on Mars, a new paper claims that the first probe to land on Mars way back in 1976 found conclusive evidence of life on the Red Planet. Is this a matter of technology finally catching up with the data or evidence of a cover-up?
On July 20, 1976, Viking 1 became the first spacecraft to land successfully on Mars. One of the tests conducted by Viking 1 was the Labeled Release (LR) experiment. A sample of Martian soil was mixed with a drop of very dilute aqueous nutrient solution whose nutrients were marked with a radioactive isotope of carbon. The air above the sample was monitored and tested positive for radioactive carbon dioxide (CO2) gas, which would indicate that microorganisms in the soil had metabolized the nutrients. The same experiment was conducted by the Viking 2 lander over 6,000 km away with the same result.

And yet ? there was no celebration or big announcement of life being discovered on Mars. Why? The other biological experiments on the Viking 1 lander gave negative results, causing project leaders to dismiss the LR results as errors ?most likely caused by a non-biological soil oxidant,?
Dr. Gilbert V. Levin and Dr. Patricia Ann Straat recently published an article in the Journal Astrobiology which questions that conclusion. With new evidence of liquid water, complex organic molecules and methane on Mars, they believe that Viking 1?s LR experiment was right. This would be a moral victory for them since Levin and Straat were the Viking 1 LR experiment leaders.

To prove the results were not in error, they conducted the LR experiment again using Earth soil similar to the Martian surface and let it sit for two months in a dark room. When they checked, they found the same results as Viking 1.
Is this conclusive evidence of life on Mars? Not quite, but it?s enough to prompt Levin and Straat to warn their successors planning missions to bring soil samples from Mars back to Earth.
Plans for any Mars sample return mission should also take into account that such a sample may contain viable, even if dormant, alien life. We cannot rule out the biological explanation. This has implications for plans for sample return from Mars and future human missions.
Were the original results of the Viking 1 LR experiment covered up? It?s hard to prove. Viking Project scientist Dr. Gerald Soffen is often cited as the one responsible for calling it an error, saying ?That?s the ball game. No organics on Mars, no life on Mars.? That dictated the direction of all future Mars missions away from looking for life and instead towards sending humans to the planet to bring back lifeless soil samples.

In Oostenrijk kreeg de politie vrijdag veel telefoontjes van bezorgde mensen over een ongeïdentificeerd vliegend object in de lucht boven hoofdstad Wenen. Er werden ook filmpjes op internet geplaatst.
Lokale media kregen vele tientallen foto’s binnen van mensen die het vreemde vaartuig boven de stad hadden gezien en gefotografeerd, meldt The Local.
Het oplichtende object werd ook gesignaleerd boven andere steden in het land, waaronder de zuidelijke stad Graz.
Niet gereageerd
Volgens sommigen leek de UFO op een quadrocopter, een vliegtuigje dat wordt aangedreven door vier propellers.
De autoriteiten hebben nog niet gereageerd op de waarnemingen.

Het is niet voor het eerst dat een UFO-waarneming heeft geleid tot ophef in Oostenrijk. Tijdens nieuwjaarsnacht filmde student Marie Mela uit Neder-Oostenrijk een UFO die werd getroffen door de bliksem.
In het filmpje zijn dansende mensen te zien. Tussen het vuurwerk door verschijnt vervolgens een lichtbol in de lucht.
Het mysterie rond de waarneming is nooit opgehelderd, hoewel sommigen menen dat het in scène is gezet.

In een bos in het noorden van Ierland is een enorm Keltisch kruis ontdekt, dat alleen vanuit de lucht te aanschouwen is.
Het bijna 100 meter lange en 70 meter brede kruis is gemaakt door een boswachter die de figuur creëerde door verschillende soorten bomen te planten.
De boswachter, Liam Emmery, overleed zes jaar geleden. “We waren eigenlijk al een beetje vergeten dat hij het kruis gemaakt had,” vertelde zijn vrouw Norma. “Maar hij zou het erg leuk hebben gevonden, al die aandacht die het nu krijgt.”

Het kruis in het Donegal-bos is in de herfst goed te zien omdat de bladeren van de bomen die de figuur vormen anders kleuren dan de omringende bomen.
Vanwege de extra droge herfst is het kleurverschil nog duidelijker te zien dan normaal. Het kruis werd opgemerkt door vliegtuigpassagiers die op weg waren naar het City of Derry Airport.
Al snel werd op social media druk gespeculeerd over de herkomst van het kruis, waarna een journalist van UTV Northern Ireland op onderzoek uitging, meldt ITV.
“Hij hield ervan als dingen perfect waren,” vertelde Norma aan de Irish Post. “En ik denk dat het kruis voor hem perfect was.”

Nog steeds worden er op regelmatige basis op verschillende plaatsen op aarde vreemde, onverklaarbare en angstaanjagende geluiden gehoord.
Zo ook weer onlangs in Slovakije, maar dit keer is er misschien toch een concrete aanwijzing omtrent de oorzaak van dit alles.
De geluiden die worden gehoord, zijn ook niet altijd hetzelfde en dat geldt ook voor het hiernavolgende geluid dat onlangs is opgenomen in Slovakije.
Het is natuurlijk ook niet zeker of al die verschillende geluiden op alle mogelijke plaatsen dezelfde oorzaak hebben (zie daarvoor ook de video helemaal onderaan dit artikel).
Voor ons springen er twee concrete mogelijkheden uit en dat is enerzijds de nadering van het mini-zonnestelsel Nibiru en anderzijds zaken zoals HAARP, waarover straks meer.
Afgezien van de bizarre geluiden is er iets anders dat opvalt in Slovakije en dat is de lucht, die er allesbehalve uit ziet als een lucht zoals je op een doorsnee dag zou verwachten.

De vraag is dan ook of het toeval is dat het geluid zich voor doet op het moment dat de lucht eruit ziet zoals hierboven.

Als we er vanuit gaan dat dit geluid daadwerkelijk zo is opgenomen, met die lucht, dan zou dat wel eens in de richting van HAARP kunnen wijzen.

Het doel van al die programma’s is om wat zij noemt het Global Information Grid (GIG) samen te voegen met een kunstmatig geïoniseerde atmosfeer en het biologische weefsel van mensen, dieren en de frequentie van een Artificial Intelligence (kunstmatige intelligentie) programma.

Strange pulses of cosmic light might be signals from hundreds of different alien civilizations — or just the latest false alarm in the tortuous search for ET.
This month, astrophysicists Ermanno Borra and Eric Trottier, both from Laval University in Quebec, announced that they had spotted mysterious light signals coming from 234 different stars in our Milky Way galaxy. These pulses match the profile of signals that Borra, in a 2012 paper, predicted intelligent aliens might use to get our attention, the authors wrote.
"We find that the detected signals have exactly the shape of an ETI [extraterrestrial intelligence] signal predicted in the previous publication and are therefore in agreement with this hypothesis," the duo wrote in the paper, which was published online Oct. 14 in the journal Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. "The fact that they are only found in a very small fraction of stars within a narrow spectral range centered near the spectral type of the sun is also in agreement with the ETI hypothesis," the researchers added in the study. (Borra and Trottier looked at the spectra of 2.5 million stars studied by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, which uses a telescope in New Mexico.)
But don't get too excited: Borra and Trottier said that additional observations are needed to confirm this hypothesis, and outside astronomers are even more emphatic on this point. Indeed, a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted, said Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute in Mountain View, California.
For example, it seems unlikely that 234 separate alien societies would be sending out such similar signals more or less simultaneously, Shostak said.
"It would be like expecting us to send the same signals as the Abyssinians — it doesn't make a whole lot of sense," he told Space.com. "If I were a betting guy, I'd bet this is an artifact of the way they processed their data."
Shostak also said that he knew of six different reviewers who had recommended against publishing the paper, at least without significant revision. However, he did stress that Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific is a reputable journal.
The astronomers behind Breakthrough Listen, a $100 million project that's scanning the heavens for SETI signals over the next 10 years, also urged skepticism.
"The international SETI community has established a 0-to-10 scale for quantifying detections of phenomena that may indicate the existence of advanced life beyond the Earth called the 'Rio Scale,'" team members of Breakthrough Listen, whose science program is headquartered at the Berkeley SETI Research Center (BSRC) at the University of California, Berkeley, said in a statement. "The BSRC team assesses the Borra-Trottier result to currently be a 0 or 1 (None/Insignificant) on this scale."
But skepticism is not the same thing as dismissal. Shostak thinks the stars singled out by Borra and Trottier are worthy of follow-up investigation, as does Breakthrough Listen. Indeed, the latter organization plans to study several of these stars using the 7.9-foot (2.4 meters) Automated Planet Finder optical telescope at Lick Observatory in California, team members said in the same statement.
The long history of SETI false alarms — including a detection that generated buzz this past August, but was soon traced to a Russian satellite — shouldn't deter scientists from checking out intriguing candidates, Shostak stressed.
"You can't get too cynical," he said. "You don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater."
Op woensdag 19 oktober na het avondgebed was er een luid geluid te horen in de hemel, gevolgd door het zien van een immens groot licht dat zich bewoog vanuit het westen van de hoofdstaf Riyad naar het oosten.
Inwoners zeiden dat het onbekende vliegende voorwerp niet op een meteoor leek. Het had een blauwe en een groene kleur en er schoten groen-achtige flitsen vanaf het object. Een 40-jarige man die zichzelf Khalid noemt zegt dat hij nog nooit zoiets heeft gezien.

Daar werd door een Houthi rebel met een 9K32 Strela-2 raket (een raket die vanaf de schouder wordt afgevuurd) de UFO naar beneden gehaald. Volgens Houthi bronnen was er slechts één schot nodig om dit voor elkaar te krijgen.
De exacte locatie waar dit object zou zijn neergekomen werd klaarblijkelijk onmiddellijk bekendgemaakt en zou in de buurt van de plaats Al Mukalla liggen. Een stad die in een gebied ligt waar hevig wordt gevochten.
Volgens de Santa Monica Observer is het bericht verder niet in westerse media gepubliceerd, maar zijn er zelfs mensen in Koeweit die iets hebben gezien. Lokale bewoners zeggen dat ze een explosie hebben gehoord en dat ze een geweldige schok voelden toen het object de grond raakte.
Van officiële zijde, de overheid van Saoedi Arabië, is geen bevestiging gekomen, maar wel zouden ze het gebied hebben afgezet. Bij het artikel plaatsen ze dan een foto die zo goed als zeker nep is, want hij lijkt afkomstig uit een nepvideo die al sinds de zomer de ronde doet (zie onder).
Het verhaal op zich kan natuurlijk best waar zijn en misschien is een deel daarvan schromelijk overdreven, maar hebben ze inderdaad wel wat gezien.
Het zou heel goed kunnen zijn dat wat ze gezien hebben een meteoriet is geweest:
Want, twee dagen later zien namelijk de bewoners van het Russische Baikal Meer ook een groenachtig/blauw licht dat op aarde lijkt neer te storten.
Daar was zonder twijfel sprake van een meteoriet die de dampkring binnenkwam, vervolgens verbrandde en dan dat soort kleuren kan veroorzaken.
Dus, wie weet hebben de inwoners in de Arabische landen ook iets dergelijks gezien en de rest erbij verzonnen. Of het verhaal is wel waar, maar dan moet de Santa Monica Observer er geen nepfoto’s bij plaatsen, want dat doet het verhaal geen goed.

Prehistoric cavemen frequently drew what appear to be UFOs in their cave art above the exact replicas of Bison, and deer. Aimé Michel did a study of cave art and reports at Las Chimeneas (Santander, Spain) is a cigar-cloud and its attendant discs. At Altimira, Niaux, and La Cullalvera caves discs are shown in flight.
Dr. Michael Rappenglueck of the University of Munich told BBC News Online that he has found star maps within the cave paintings of France and Spain. The objects discovered at Lascaux in central France, “painted over the shoulder of a bull show three bright stars known as the Summer Triangle representing the three present stars Vega, Deneb and Altair. These images form a map of the sky with the eyes of the bull, a bird-man and a bird on a stick.” Today this region of the sky forms part of the constellation of Taurus the bull, showing that identification of this part of the sky stretches back seventeen thousand years.” Another cluster of stars known as the Pleiades, or seven sisters has been identified in a cave in Spain.” ‘It is a map of the prehistoric cosmos indicating our ancestors knew the Zodiac 17,000 years ago, and were more sophisticated than many believe.” Dr. Rappenglueck. ‘It was their sky, full of animals and spirit guides.'”

Ancient man and women had never been exposed to oral stories or paintings of spaceships or aliens so they had no preconceived stories from writers of science fiction. When creating paintings or pictures of activities on cave walls they were recording. The similarities to today’s UFO reports are not coincidental. Ancient cave dwellers witnessed the same type of craft as we witness today.
These images are from the cave of“Pech Merle” near “Le Cabrerets, France,” and were painted .17,000 – 15,000 BC. The scene depicts a landscape full of wildlife such as bison, and horses together with a number of saucer shaped objects. The objects seem totally out of context. Dropa Stones
Himalayan mountains — Chi Pu Tei, a professor of archaeology at Beijing University, was leading some of his students on an expedition to survey a series of interlinking caves in the Baian- Kara-Ula Mountains on the border that divides China and Tibet in 1938. They discovered artificially carved caves that included a complex system of tunnels and underground storerooms some caves that had been occupied by a primitive people long ago. The walls were squared and glazed, as if cut into the mountain with a source of extreme heat.
Inside the caves were several ancient, but neatly arranged burial sites, and in them the skeletal remains of a strange people. The skeletons, measuring a little more than four feet tall, were frail and spindly with large skulls. On the walls were carved pictograms of the heavens: the sun, the moon, the stars, and the Earth with lines of dots connecting them. Half-buried in the dirt floor of the cave was an odd stone disk, obviously fashioned by the hand of an intelligent creature. The disk was nine inches in diameter and three-quarters of an inch thick. In the exact center was a perfectly round, 3/4″ hole, and etched in its face was a fine groove spiraling out from the center to the rim, like a primitive DVD. These Dropa Stones are dated to be about 12,000 years old and 716 such plates were found. In the groove in the stones was a continuous line of strange carved unknown hieroglyphics – writing!
In 1962, Dr. Tsum Um Nui was able to decode the message of the stone plates – a message so incredible and earth-shattering that the Prehistory Department of the Beijing Academy prohibited its translation to be published. He discerned that the messages on the stones were written by a people who called themselves the Dropa, almost 12,000 ago and presented it to the University for Publication.
Two years later, Dr. Tsum Um Nui’s findings were released in a paper entitled, “The Grooved Script Concerning Spaceships on the Discs, Landed on Earth 12,000 Years Ago.” The disks tell the story of a spacecraft crewed by dwarfish beings, who told him that their ancestors had come from a planet of Sirius, that crash-landed in the Himalayas and its occupants called Dropas found refuge in the caves.
“The Dropa were unable to repair their disabled spacecraft and could not return to their home planet, and so were stranded on Earth. Despite their peaceful intentions, the Dropas were misunderstood by members of the Ham tribe who were occupying neighboring caves and who hunted down the aliens and even killed some.
Today, the isolated area is inhabited by two tribes of people who, in fact, call themselves the Dropa (shown) and the Han. Anthropologists have been unable to categorize either tribe into any other known race; they are neither Chinese nor Tibetan. Both tribes are of pygmy stature, adults measuring between 3-foot-6 and 4-foot-7 with an average height of 4-foot-2, and body weights of 38 to 52 pounds. They are yellow-skinned with thin bodies and disproportionately large heads, corresponding to the skeletal remains found in the caves in 1938. They have sparse hair on their bodies and have large eyes that are not Asian in aspect, but have pale blue irises.
In 1968, the Dropa stones came to the attention of W. Saitsew, a Russian scientist who conducted tests on the disks that revealed the granite stones contained high concentrations of cobalt and other metals -that would have made it difficult for the primitive people to carve the lettering, especially with such minute characters. Spaceship appeared over Egypt 3,000 years ago!
PARIS — A scientist claims to have found a drawing of a flying saucer on the wall of an Egyptian tomb! “This is it — this is the evidence we’ve been looking for,” Dr. Isadora Demazure told reporters in Paris. “Space aliens really did contact the ancient Egyptians.”This drawing proves it — once and for all.”
The expert refused to say exactly where the drawing is located, other than to say she found it in a 3,000-year-old tomb on the banks of the Nile. She acknowledged that some of her colleagues would like to inspect the tomb before declaring the drawing authentic.
But she insists that it is genuine — and claims her still photographs and videotapes prove it.
“The spaceship appears to be of classic UFO design,” Dr. Demazure said. “It rather looks like an upside-down dinner plate with a lip or a rib running around its lower edge.
“There is a cockpit or observation deck on top, covered with a clear dome. There is also a lighted dome underneath, but there are no visible life-forms.
“I have no doubt that this is a spaceship,” she added. “There is nothing else it could be.”
Fragments of an unusually strong and lightweight metal found in the tomb have so far defied analysis, said the expert.
“But there is a very real possibility that they are extraterrestrial in origin,” she continued. “They certainly aren’t familiar to us.”They are nothing like we have ever seen before.”
The expert is currently negotiating with a major European publisher who wants rights to the photos and videotape she shot inside the tomb and she’ll get at least $75,000 for the photo package, maybe more.
Queried by journalists, Egyptologist Andre Lafont called Dr. Demazure’s discovery “interesting, but anticlimactic.”
“UFO researchers and Egyptologists already know that extraterrestrials were in contact with the ancient Egyptians,” he said.”Space aliens gave them many aspects of their culture. They helped them build the pyramids.”

Ancient Civilizations such as Dogon Possessed Exceptional Knowledge
In recent years an increasing number of researchers in astronomy have come to the conclusion that most of the ancient civilizations possessed an exceptional astronomical knowledge. Advanced cultures across the globe determine the length of the solar year and developed reliable calendar systems, and were aware of the ‘Precession of the Equinox’.
While many of the famous archeological sites offer us solid evidence that ancient temple, pyramids and other buildings were designed and oriented towards the rising and culmination of certain constellations or specific stars like Sirius. Many cultures had a fascination with the stars and their cyclical motion. References to Sirius can be found in early Egyptian, Greek, Ancient Sumerian, Babylonian, Indian, Chinese, and Mesoamerican records tell of visitors to Earth from other planets.
French Professor Marcel Griaule and Germaine Dieterlen starting in 1931 undertook an extensive field study of the Dogon tribe in West Africa. Dogon elders revealed secrets of their religion and extraordinary knowledge of the universe.
Later Robert Temple wrote the book “The Sirius Mystery” that truly popularized the knowledge of the Dogon tribe of Mali, Africa. A fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, Temple earned a degree in Oriental studies and Sanskrit at the University of Pennsylvania. Temple claims civilization on earth resulted from contact with inhabitants of a planet in the Sirius star system prior to 3,000 B.C. Sumerians and several African tribes claim they were visited by extraterrestrials that came from a watery planet.
They were given great knowledge by visitors from a planet within Orion’s Belt near Sirius. The tribal cultures and most sacred traditions are based on special knowledge of the Sirius system is astounding in its accuracy and detail, including information only recently known to modern science. The Dogon legends about two companion to Sirius are claimed to originate before any terrestrial astronomer could have known of the existence of Sirius B, let alone its 50-year orbit or its nature as a tiny, condensed white dwarf star, all of which the Dogon allegedly knew.
The Dogon referred to a small and super-dense companion of Sirius, made of matter heavier than anything on Earth, and moving in a 50-year elliptical orbit around its parent star and a third outer orbiting star. The white dwarf companion of Sirius which answers to this description was not seen until 1862, when the American optician Alvan Graham Clark spotted it while testing a new telescope; the super dense nature of white dwarfs was not realized until the 1920s. A Dogon legend, similar to many other tales by primitive people of visits from the sky, speaks of an “ark” descending to the ground bringing an amphibious group of beings, known as the Nommo. “Nommo is the collective name for the great culture-hero and founder of civilization who came from the Sirius system to set up society on the Earth,” The Sumerians also claim they were visited by similar being called Oannes who brought writing, organization and education.
The Dogon’s legends explain the structure of the universe and the origin of life. It appears that long before empirical science established their facts, the Dogon already knew that “the sun turns on its own axis, as if propelled by a huge spiral spring. The Earth turns on its axis, around its center, and makes a great circle like a top its spinningand has long known that planets orbit the sun.The moon turns like a conical spiral around the Earth.”
The Dogon’s go as far as describing a third star in the Sirius system, called “Emme Ya” that, to date, has not been identified by astronomers. In addition to their knowledge of Sirius B, the Dogon mythology includes Saturn’s rings and Jupiter’s four major moons. They have four calendars, for the Sun, Moon, Sirius, and Venus,
The Dogon elders not only possess an accurate astronomical understanding of our solar system, but they also have an astonishing clear perception of mankind’s place in the universe, which centers around the invisible stars of the Sirius system.
The Dogon believe Amma is the supreme God, the creator of the universe. Amma means: to hold tight, embrace strongly and keep in the same place”. The Nommo Monitors are the “ancestors” of men, to whom Amma entrusted a part of the management of the universe. Genesis in the Bible tells a similar account of the Nephilim, “Those Who Have Come Down, from the Heaven to Earth.” The Dogon describe an arc landing and displacing a pile of dust raised by a whirlwind presumably a spaceship. The impact roughened the ground and the flame went out when it touched the earth. The ark moved to a hollow that was filled with water, whereupon the aliens emerged.
According to Berossus, a Babylonian historian the whole body of the alien was like a fish; and had under fish’s head another head, and also feet below, similar to a man, subjoined to the fish’s tail. His voice was articulate and provided advanced technology to the Babylonians, how to build cities and temples, develop laws and taught mathematics to create civilization. They also appear in Egyptian, Accadian, and Sumerian myths. The Egyptian Goddess Isis, who is sometimes depicted as a mermaid, is also linked with the star Sirius.
He was similar to the stories of mermen and mermaids. He jumped into the water at sunset. The Sirius Mystery is a pervasive argument for the ancient alien’s theory.
American Indians
These ufo petroglyphs were created thousands of years ago by ancient Indians in the American Southwest. According to Indian folklore, two objects collided high in the sky and one crash-landed in the region of Death Valley.
ome men arrived (presumably in another ship) and spent some time repairing the damaged craft and were observed by the local Indians. The two images below may possibly depict the ship (left) used by the men who came to repair the damaged craft. In comparing the two images, the one on the right seems to depict structural damage around the edges and the bottom. Could it be the one that allegedly crashed? The images are stills taken from an old TV series entitled “In search of…” hosted by Leonard Nimoy.
Ghostly Dirigible Light in the 1909 Skies
Wilmington, Delaware MORNING NEWS – 2 August 1909
MIDDLETOWN, NY August 1, 1909. — A mysterious airship which flies only at night is causing considerable excitement and keeping the people of Orange county residing between Goshen and Newburg up nights in their efforts to get a look at it. For the past month persons who have been out late at night have reported seeing an airship.
For a week or more the flying machine had not been seen, but at 11 o’clock last night it made its appearance near Goshen. It was flying high in the air and carried a light which attracted attention.
It flew very fast and was last seen traveling in the direction of Newburg. Those who have seen the machine say it is shaped like a balloon and has wings on each side and a cigar-shaped car underneath. The sound of a motor was distinctly heard by those who saw the machine. (Thanks to Carl Feindt)

Arizona Orbs
Tucson— I have filmed Orbs since August 2008 through 2009 near Tucson Arizona.
I have 25,000 pictures and over 100 hours of video have been recorded.

California Object
San Francisco— It was about 9 pm and we were taking pictures of the full moon on August 18, 2016.
We looked at the pictures later and noticed this strange shape that moved from picture 1 to the last picture.
It was very bright and seems to be changing directions.
We were thinking it could be lantern paper but the shape is very odd (check pictures). Thanks to MUFON CMS
Florida Lights
Saint Petersburg— This is my neighbor’s sighting on October 22, 2016, and she wants to remain anonymous. She was sitting outside and noticed many whitish objects in the sky over the west end of our street. She took a photo and watched them for a minute or so. They seemed to be moving all together, and then suddenly they vanished. I did not witness the event, but they all disappeared at the same time. I was a field investigator for many years ago after passing the test, but then I took a high-profile position and didn’t pursue investigations. My neighbor was questioning whether she was really seeing what she saw. She’s still shaken. I would take her as a reliable witness. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Hawaii Disc
Waikane— I was taking pictures at Kaneoha Bay at lunch time of the mountains on October 23, 2016. I hold down the button of my camera then it continuously snaps photos with less than a second in between shots. I took multiple pictures of the mountains. When I looked back at my pictures one was not like the others. At first, I thought a wood chip was on my lens but I looked closer and I realized I had spotted a UFO! Now, I don’t really believe in stereotypical UFOs, but this bothered me out so much that I’m reporting it! The unidentified object I saw was a disk, football shape and it was yellow/orange with a dome on the top. As soon as I saw the picture and realized it wasn’t a football I got a very eerie feeling. Illinois Green Orb
Wheeling — I hiked on a trail near our home with my husband in late afternoon on October 22, 2016. I took some pictures while hiking.
Later on, while reviewing the pictures I took, we found there are some weird green lights in the middle of two pictures.
Not sure if this related to any anomalies thing.

Maine Disc
Turner— Took three photos of object on September 30, 2016, with gps on. This is the best photo of distant object.
Also I turned on video cam on moving try pod then craft went by real fast video pick up sound. The original video cigar shape craft up close. Craft comes in to view at around the 42 second mark. It goes by so fast there are only 5 frames with some sound suggesting close proximity. The overall velocity is greater than the shutter speed used in the capture. Its moving faster than the shutter speed used and there are no mechanical sounds, just the sound of an object passing through the air within vicinity of the microphone. Fall River — I was outside taking pictures of the night sky on October 27, 2016, because it was beautiful.
The photos I took I saw a strange object in the sky on the photo and checked my camera to make sure there wasn’t anything on my lens and there was not. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Missouri Light
Kansas City — My wife and I go to this park all the time just to relax on October10, 2016. We watch the night sky from this park. We saw a large bright light just sitting there in the sky so bright it lit up the landscape for miles. This park is on 23rd and Topping and you can see all the way to the sports complex. The light was so bright it lit up the park from Raytown. We sit there and watch it for 5 minutes before I got my cell phone but the bright light went out but was still lit up enough to see. I have posted 4 videos on You Tube which you can look up under Willis Clark’s UFO VIDEO FILES. One where you can actually see one take off from the ground and on the same video. One flew right over us and we thought that one was an airplane because it made noise like a jet or something until it flew off in the distance and posted up in the sky and sit perfectly still. And that night there was a fleet of these craft all over different parts of the Kansas City sky. These were not airplanes or choppers. We were close enough to see very clearly size and shape of this craft and it look like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It accelerated super fast ahead of us at a tremendous speed. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Oregon Orb
Lebanon— On October 14, 2016, several photos were taken of an orb with several bright lights. The orb was in a cloud and appeared to be surrounded by a green elliptical halo. The photos were taken in the direction of the sun, but the orb appears to be a real object and not a lens flare or reflection. The reason for this is that one of the photos shows the object partially hidden by the cloud. A reflection would not appear that way. It is not known if the orb was seen or later discovered in the photo. This question has been posed to the witness.
Witness Response to Questions:I thought I saw something reflected for a second. It wasn’t until I looked at the pictures when I got home that I saw the object. I have taken a lot of pictures of clouds for years and have never come across anything like this.
Note: This object could very well be real because one of the photos (enlargement) shows that the object is partially hidden by the clouds and also bright spots show up on the object. A lens flare would not look like this. Also the object appears to be too far away from the sun to be a lens flare or reflection. The enlarged photo above shows a green elliptical shaped halo surrounds the object. The witness also said that he used a Samsung Galaxy 6 cell phone to take the photos. Washington Lights
Olympia – Note: The report below was extracted from the website www.ufoholic.com. The witness sent the link to his report posted on the “ufoholic” website.
An Orb UFO opened a portal and then materialized a shape-shifting entity. A man from Olympia became the observer of a unique episode that will undoubtedly remain with him for the rest of his life. Right above his home was a bright portal through which a shape-shifting entity manifested itself into our world. The objects were visible for a long period of time and the witness was able to capture both photographic and video evidence.
On the night of May 26th, at 10:59 PM the witness was sitting on the back porch of his house looked up at a luminous object spinning across the horizon. At first it looked like a star moving—at high speeds. With 24% battery on his phone, the witness started to document the incident.
“It displayed so many colors I immediately knew it wasn’t a plane. In my robe and barefooted I walked into the grassy field beside my backyard and started shooting video,” D.M. told UFOholic.
Overwhelmed by what he saw, the witness continued to track the unidentified flying object as it maneuvered across the night sky until it stopped moving and began pulsing. It took the shape of what the witness described as a “ring of fire” and after a few moments a second entity separated from the pulsating object. Right away, this second UFO began spinning like a top and exhibiting a strange, intelligent behavior.
“It was displaying images or manifesting something. It became every shape I’ve ever seen.”
The two UFOs were about 1,000 feet away from the witness who estimated the size of the portal-UFO was huge, approximately 100 feet in diameter. The other craft was smaller about 40 feet but what it lacked in size, it made up for in behavior. Both objects were completely silent, as evidenced in the video. The shape-shifting abilities of this craft or entity far surpass any known camouflage technology and this alone seems to suggest their origin is not from earth. Glacier — I was with my uncle on September 23, 2016, exploring up on an old coal mining road. Having never been up there before, I took my cell phone with me and was snapping photos of the scenery around me. I was taking pictures of what I believe is Skyline Ridge, and I took several photos in a row.
Only one contained what I believe is to be a space ship of some sort over the mountain to the right. I did not see this ship with the naked eye–my camera caught the only image of it. Here are the photos taken by them on September 23, 2016. Thanks to Frank Chille
West Virginia Cloud
Fortsprings — I was driving home. And looked up and seen this floating purple light on October 25, 2016. It didn’t move from where it was at. It just floated. I didn’t know if it was something for Halloween or what. As I turned the curve i could see it better. The light just floated above the trees. I don’t know what it would have been. Not saying it was a UFO. I would just like to know what it could have been.

Sanctuary Point – On October 11, 2016, I was working in the yard, when I became aware of an object in the sky which was at great height, it was also star bright against the blue of a perfectly clear midday. It was floating with airy swoops, it was cylindrical. It then started to move west against the wind traveling end over end. I became aware that all of the birds (lorrikeets, wattlebirds, mudlarks etc) fell silent; just as they do in the presence of a predator; they had been raucous until a few moments before I sighted the cylinder. Twice it seemed to react to my thoughts. The first time I thought “Come this way you bugger, so that I can get a better look at you!” and to my surprise, it changed its direction from heading west and then raced toward me in the north east, again traveling end over end (almost like a boomerang) and then when it was directly overhead, I thought “Stop…so that I can see you better.” and to my surprise, it did. Still it was very high and it appeared to be being mobbed by white birds, small white dots were swooping in toward and then away from it. It remained stationary overhead. Brisbane — UFO Sighting of pill shaped red and white cylindrical object on October 16, 2016. It was recorded on unmanned time-lapse video and later discovered upon viewing of the digital images (12 sequential frames from 559 600 shots). Initially I assumed this to be an aircraft. Several lights appear during the time-lapse (total play time of 11 seconds).
NOTE: As has been the case previously when I recorded such footage – the camera (Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 bridge camera with Leica zoom lens) which was set to manual focus, mysteriously lost focus near the end of the recording. This object was descending on a steady flight path angle from left to right, as would an aircraft. My question over this being merely a commercial aircraft, is that it doesn’t appear to be a case of motion blur; rather an evenly halved red and white body. Also; if it was an aircraft heading from my left to my right towards Brisbane International airport, I would normally see from a conventional aircraft of wing-tip lights. I see it as a well lit, thick cylinder without cabin lights. There would be no red color on the full side of same to leave this image as an equally distributed red and white object, and certainly would not start and end as a rounded curved shape as it does.

Brazil Cylinder
I was in my residence watching the lunar eclipse. I decided to take some pictures on September 29, 2015, because my son is interested in the subject and he slept because of the schedule. The objects were not visible to the naked eye on, and I fixed the camera on a tripod not to move the camera. Only the next day I went to see the pictures on the computer, when I found strange white spots around and near the moon. I follow and am interested in UFO phenomena, but thought well before sending the photos. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Canada Orb
Kanata– On October 10, 2016, I did not see the object in question it was only after I looked at my camera screen and saw the blur. I opened up the picture on my desktop to see what the blur was. There was nothing in the area around me (birds or any other airborne object) that could have made this. From the picture I can’t tell if it was nearby or far-away, or some other aberration that I’m not aware of. I thought I’d file/post this as maybe someone else may know what it is (it was taken with a high-end camera, and I took about another 30 or so shots of the exact same area over the next 5 minutes and did not ever see anything else like that on camera).
I did take pictures of the same area over the next few days (attached photos) and did catch some odd things in the same area (none that I saw with my eyes, only on camera). The 3rd photo was of an airplane at night (center frame) and I’m sure some of the dots are stars…but not sure what the other streaky light is.

Santiago— The pictures were taken at 18:00 Chilean hour yesterday October 20, 2016, at Santiago City of Chile, at downtown Santiago Av Alameda.!
The UFO´S were detected after the review of the pictures and it was no intention the picture them on first instance.

Croatia Triangle
Between Poreč and Novigrad – End of July 18th and 29th, 2011, between 9 and 11 PM. I was just watching sunset but I sat on the beach for a long time. It was too late, the sky was dark when I looked a little bit more left and “that thing” was there. I wasn´t able to think about what was that. Triangular shape, three lighting points (yellow), weird moves from 9 – 11 p. m. I sat on the beach and for 15 or 20 minutes stared at that “thing” over the sea. Few minutes it was just “hanging´” on one place, then it started to move really weird way (and the speed of those moves was unbelievable), but still was the triangular shape. I don´t remember how it disappeared, I was like hypnotized… I looked around to see, if there´s anyone who see the same “thing” and when I looked back, “that thing” wasn´t there. There were many people on the beach, I´m sure, someone saw the same. I´m sorry I have no photos – like I said, I was like hypnotized and wasn´t think. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Nugent — I write you because on October 23, 2016, I witnessed a strange phenomenon. It was around 2:00 am and we are four people to have seen that. I was with a friend and her parents. We saw two bright balls which followed each other, that quickly moved forward before disappearing in the sky. Then 8-10 seconds after another one appeared, according to the same way. Then 15 seconds later another one arrived, it was different. He looked like a transparent bubble. The night was clear, there were no clouds. Four UFO followed the same trajectory and disappeared in the sky. They were fast and there was no noise of engine. Or was very strange and it doesn’t look like a planes or others. UFO Sighting India
Siolim Goa — I and My Best Friend Askhay Kauthankar aka “Hunter” were at my relatives place in Siolim Bardez Goa India. At around 9.p.m.to 10.p.m on October 22, 2016, Hunter spotted 6 or 7 red UFO lights in the sky.
They were travelling at normal speed that looked like a fleet of glowing red round lights in the sky travelling in a straight line direction.
We could not believe it was our 3rd UFO Sighting this year. This was once again a very cool UFO Sighting. Thanks to Mandar Naik
Portugal Triangle
Lisbon — With a beautiful sunset I tested my HTC one m8 to compare with the Olympus sz31 mr (the clock of this one wasn’t right). I took photos changing cameras about in 5”, and went to the pc and noticed the screen was dirty. But not. I was wrong. It was not dirt, and when I zoom in on photos, I noticed photographed a Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit … or a UFO? So I send the photos to your analysis because you are the experts on these subjects and because I’m curious. I do not think a Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit fly the skies of Portugal…but it’s not impossible! Note: Craft is not a B-2.
Spain Red Globe
Malaga — Lying over Southern Spain my wife and I saw a huge red globe 35,000 feet in the sky on July 29, 2016. The globe was approx half a mile wide and I presume the pilot saw it and banked violently to the left until we were away from it. Thanks to MUFON CMS
UK/England Flying Object
East Putney — I was walking down Oakhill Road SW18 on my way home from work when I noticed an unusual shaped object in the distance moving toward my general direction. There were a few low altitude planes in the sky during the observation on their usual predictable flight path into Heathrow. The object was high in the sky. It must have been quite large but smaller than the size of a 747, perhaps 7-12 meters wide. The sky was crisp and clear and the object was reflecting sunlight off a metallic object, but not heavy looking. The central top area was illuminated by itself or reflecting the most light. When I first saw it in the distance the entire craft was reflecting sunlight, brightly. When it was to my left it was the central area that was illuminated.
I watched for a minute and noticed it had no wings and no port/starboard lights and moved without making a noise as it was getting closer but still quite high. I took out my iPhone 4 and took some pictures as it moved over to my left. I even tried to zoom in but didn’t get a decent shot, only about 5 shots on the standard setting making it appear quite small in the frame, yet for me identifiable. The disc moved at an even pace quite slowly all through its trajectory. It appeared too slow for a fixed wing craft to sustain lift. It was not a helicopter, there was no noise at all, perfectly silent all the time with no flashing lights. I have seen orbs before and this was the first time I had seen a large domed disc, so I was happy to see it. The object moved out of sight over the trees.
