Our world is filled with mysterious happenings, curious oddities and things that are just, well….strange. From the impressive to the downright weird, sometimes nature surprises the eye and bewilders the mind.
1. Moeraki Boulders
Found on the Otago coast along Koekohe Beach near Moeraki, New Zealand, the Moeraki Boulders were originally formed on the ancient sea floor roughly 60 million years ago. Numbering near 50, the diameter of the boulders range between half a metre (1.6 ft) and approx 2.2 metres (7.3 ft). According to Maori legend, the boulders are the remnants of eel baskets which washed ashore after legendary canoe, Araiteuru, was ship-wrecked.
2. Light Pillars
Simply a visual phenomenon created by the reflection of light from ice, Light Pillars (or columns) are most frequently formed when light from the sun or moon is reflected by ice crystals in the air. In order for the pillar effect to occur, the ice crystal must be horizontal so that the reflection can be made vertically. Due to the ambient appearance of the pillars, this phenom has been known to produce many false UFO reports. Have you seen lights in the sky on a freezing cold night? You may have just seen a light pillar.
3. The Sailing Stones
Found in the dusty, dried out plains of Racetrack Playa in Death Valley, California, the Sailing Stones have defied scientific explanation to this day. No conclusion has yet been offered as to explain why these mysterious stones leave long, stretching, tracks every two or three years, although it is popularly believed that the unique weather conditions which occur here in March every year play a vital role.
4. Blue Holes
Although not quite as cool as a black hole or anywhere near as mind-boggling as a worm-hole, blue holes are much easier to observe. Technically giant underwater sink-holes, blue holes were formed at some time during past ice ages, when the sea level was roughly 110 metres lower than it is today. The deepest blue hole in the world is Dean’s Blue Hole, just west of Clarence Town in the Bahamas, and is recorded at 202 metres. The widest blue hole is the Great Blue Hole (pictured), and is 300 metres in diameter.
5. Columnar Basalt
Looking more like a discarded scene prop from 2006’s Superman Returns (the less said, the better), Columnar Basalt occurs in the wake of thick lava flow. When the lava flow cools, an extensive network of fractures develops, resulting in the formation of hexagonal columns. If the cooling is rapid, smaller columns will be observed, and alternatively, slow cooling renders large colomns.
6. Blue Neon Waves
Unfortunately, the Blue Neon waves, which were observable from the San Diego shoreline, have ceased, but that doesn’t make them any less of a natural wonder. The nocturnal opposite to the city’s “Red Tide”, the Neon waves were a spectacle of colour brought on by an over abundance of a certain kind of plankton. The “neon” effect which was evident in the surf, was the result of the bio-luminescence of the millions of dead plankton being washed ashore.
7. Moroccan Tree Climbing Goats
Okay, so perhaps these guys don’t quite fit in with the rest of this list, but nothing says “weird and wonderful” quite like goats in trees. And the reason for the farmyard favorite’s vertical endeavor: food. The berries of the Argan tree are a food source in Morocco, and are one of the few in relative abundance. The escapades of these wily creatures are a testament of nature adapting to survive.

The exoplanet discoveries just keep getting better and better. An international team of astronomers, equipped with a gamut of state-of-the-art ground and space telescopes, have stumbled upon the presence of a staggering seven Earth-sized planets orbiting a star 40 light-years away — including three which exhibit a strong chance of possessing water and being habitable to life.
The incredible new results, published in Nature on Wednesday, are the most exciting exoplanet discovery since the detection of Proxima b — the closest exoplanet to Earth, orbiting nearby Proxima Centauri at 4.25 light-years away — and raise hopes of finding another planet similar to Earth which could be inhabited by future generations which have mastered interstellar travel, or perhaps already be home to extraterrestrial life.
“With the right atmospheric conditions, there could be water on any of these planets,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA, at a press conference on Wednesday. “These planets are among the best of all the planets we know to follow up” for study in life-bearing atmospheres and biosignatures.
Indeed, the findings are a far cry from just a couple of decades earlier, when astronomers believed there were very few planets outside the solar system, and certainly even smaller odds that there could have been planets with the potential to sustain life.
The star system in question is governed by an ultracool dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1, named after the TRAPPIST telescope which found it, located at the European Southern Observatory’s La Silla Observatory in Chile. TRAPPIST-1 is just 8 percent the mass of the sun — hardly bigger than Jupiter — and is comparably quite dim.
For that reason, the planets would need to be much closer to the host star in order to stand a chance of developing the kind of temperatures and compositions necessary to sustain life as we know it. Fortunately, as explained by lead study author Michael Gillon, an astronomer at the University of Liege in Belgium, TRAPPIST-1 and its planets retain such a tight configuration.
“If you were on the surface of one of these planets, you would be able to see the others,” he said. “You would see them really as we see the moon [from Earth. You could see structures…it would be a wonderful view.”
The new findings, made using TRAPPIST, the ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) at Paranal in Chile’s Atacama Desert, and the NASA Spitzer Space Telescope, collectively confirmed the existence of three previously found exoplanets in the system, plus an additional four which had never been observed before. The planets, named TRAPPIST-1b, c, d, e, f, g, and h in order of increasing distance from the star, all have sizes similar to Earth.
The key to discovering this exoplanet family has to do with the tried-and-true formula of observing stellar transits: watching the light glowing off a star dim on a regular interval as evidence that an object or series of objects are orbiting it. The TRAPPIST telescope is basically the “little telescope that could” in the world of exoplanet research — it was originally designed as a prototype to test out the technology for a larger project, but has managed to punch way beyond its weight and help lead to a groundbreaking discovery like this one.
As surprisingly useful as TRAPPIST is, it has its limits, and that’s why the VLT and Spitzer Space Telescope were also used to better observe the stellar transits in the TRAPPIST-1 system by honing in on more detailed spectral and chemical analysis. The research team was able to use the new data to make more accurate characterizations of the new planets’ sizes, compositions (the innermost six are most likely rocky), and distances from the star.
All seven planets might possess water — the single most essential trait to allowing life to thrive on another world — but it’s TRAPPIST-1e, f, and g which are particularly compelling. They reside in the host star’s Goldilocks zone: the original region in which is not too hot or too cold for surface water to pool up. The temperature and climate are just right for life to potentially evolve, or for life from another planet (raise your hands!) to potentially make a home for themselves.
The TRAPPIST findings add to the already growing list of over 3,500 confirmed exoplanets, including 44 potentially habitable worlds. However, the biggest impediment to really confirming if any of these planets resemble Earth and could foster life — terrestrial or alien — is the fact that it’s extremely difficult to study the atmospheres of these distant worlds. That could change with the new generation of instruments being constructed right now, like NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope and ESO’s European Extremely Large Telescope. Developing more technology that can pinpoint the present of biosignatures, like methane and oxygen, is critical to the search for habitable planets and extraterrestrial life.
“You really have to wait till we can assess the atmospheres” before making conclusions about life, explained Sara Seager, an astrophysicist at MIT. And part of that means just hoping for optimal conditions in order to make such observations. “We have the capability to find signs of life elsewhere, but nature has to deliver.”
When those instruments finally go online, expect the TRAPPIST-1 system to be one of the first regions of space studied in closer detail, but it certainly won’t be the last. “This is a search that will go on for many generations,” said Seager. “With this amazing system, we know there must be many more potentially life-bearing systems waiting to be found.”
“Finding a second Earth,” said Zurbuchen, “is not just a matter of if, but when.”

Seven Earth-sized planets have been found orbiting an ultracool dwarf star 40 light-years away

(CNN)Astronomers have found at least seven Earth-sized planets orbiting the same star 40 light-years away, according to a study published Wednesday in the journal Nature. The findings were also announced at a news conference at NASA Headquarters in Washington.
This discovery outside of our solar system is rare because the planets have the winning combination of being similar in size to Earth and being all temperate, meaning they could have water on theirsurfaces and potentially support life.
"This is the first time that so many planets of this kind are found around the same star," said Michaël Gillon, lead study author and astronomer at the University of Liège in Belgium.
The seven exoplanets wereall found in tight formation around an ultracool dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1. Estimates of their mass also indicate that they are rocky planets, rather than being gaseous like Jupiter. Three planets are in the habitable zone of the star, known as TRAPPIST-1e, f and g, and may even have oceans on the surface.

The researchers believe that TRAPPIST-1f in particular is the best candidate for supporting life. It's a bit cooler than Earth, but could be suitable with the right atmosphere and enough greenhouse gases.
If TRAPPIST-1 sounds familiar, that's because these researchers announcedthe discovery of three initial planets orbiting the samestar in May. The newresearch increased that number to seven planets total.
"I think we've made a crucial step towards finding if there is life out there," said Amaury Triaud, one of the study authors and an astronomer at the University of Cambridge. "I don't think any time before we had the right planets to discover and find out if there was (life). Here, if life managed to thrive and releases gases similar to what we have on Earth, we will know."
Life may begin and evolve differently on other planets, so finding the gases that indicate life is key, the researchers added.
"This discovery could be a significant piece in the puzzle of finding habitable environments, places that are conducive to life," said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of NASA's Science Mission Directorate. "Answering the question 'are we alone?' is a top science priority, and finding so many planets like these for the first time in the habitable zone is a remarkable step forward toward that goal."
And as we've learned from studying and discovering exoplanets before, where there is one, there are more, said Sara Seager, professor of planetary science and physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Seager and other researchers are encouraged by the discovery of this system because it improves our chances of finding another habitable planet, like Earth, in the future, by knowing where to look.
What we know
The planets are so close to each other and the star that there areseven of them within a space five times smaller than the distance from Mercury to our sun. This proximity allows the researchers to study the planets in depth as well, gaining insight about planetary systems other than our own.

Starting closest to the star and moving out, the planets have respective orbits from one and a half to nearly 13 Earth days. The orbit of the farthest planet is still unknown.
Standing on the surface of one of the planets, you would receive 200 times less light than you get from the sun, but you would still receive just as much energy to keep you warm since the star is so close. It would also afford some picturesque views, as the other planets would appear in the sky as big as the moon (or even twice as big).
On TRAPPIST-1f, the star would appear three times as big as the sun in our sky. And because of the red nature of the star, the light would be a salmon hue, the researchers speculate.
The researchers believe the planets formed together further from the star. Then, they moved into their current lineup. This is incredibly similar Jupiter and its Galilean moons.
Like the moon, the researchers believe the planets closest to the star are tidally locked. This means that the planets always face one way to the star. One side of the planet is perpetually night, while the other is always day.
What the TRAPPIST-1 planetary system may look like.
Based on preliminary climate modeling, the researchers believe that the three planets closest to the star may be too warm to support liquid water, while the outermost planet, TRAPPIST-1h, is probably too distant and cold to support water on the surface. But further observation is needed to know for sure.
How the discovery was made
TRAPPIST-1 barely classifies as a star at half the temperature and a tenth the mass of the sun. It is red, dim and just a bit larger than Jupiter. But these tiny ultracool dwarf stars are common in our galaxy.

They were largely overlooked until Gillon decided to study the space around one of these dwarfs.
The researchers used a telescope called TRAPPIST (TRAnsiting Planets and PlanetesImals Small Telescope) to observe its starlight and changes in brightness. The team saw shadows, like little eclipses, periodically interrupting the steady pattern of starlight. This is called transiting. The shadows indicated planets, and further observation confirmed them.
In July, the team was able to determine that two of the closest planets to the stars had atmospheres that were more compact and comparable to those of Earth, Venus and Mars by observing starlight through the planets' atmosphere.
By using a global network ground-based telescopes like TRAPPIST and space-based telescopes like Spitzer, the researchers continued looking toward the TRAPPIST system and were able to determine the orbital periods, distances from their star, radius and and masses of the planets.
What's next
Over the next decade, the researchers want to define the atmosphere of each planet, as well as to determine whether they truly do have liquid water on the surface and search for signs of life.
Although 40 light-years away doesn't sound too far, it would take us millions of years to reach this star system. But from a research perspective, it's a close opportunity and the best target to search for life beyond our solar system.
"If we learn something now, it can determine if we looked in the right place," Gillon said.
In 2018, the James Webb Space Telescope will launch and be positioned 1 million miles from Earth with an unprecedented view of the universe. It can observe large exoplanets and detect starlight filtered through their atmosphere.
The researchersare also searching for similar star systems to conduct more atmospheric research. Four telescopes named SPECULOOS (Search for habitable Planets EClipsing ULtra-cOOl Stars) based in Chile willsurvey the southern sky for this purpose.
This star system will probably outlive us because this type of star evolves so slowly. When our sun dies, TRAPPIST-1 will still be a young star and will live for another trillion years, Gillon said. After we are gone, if there is another part of the universe for life to carry on, it may be in the TRAPPIST-1 system.
"This is the most exciting result I have seen in the 14 years of Spitzer operations," said Sean Carey, manager of NASA's Spitzer Science Center at Caltech/IPAC in Pasadena, California. "Spitzer will follow up in the fall to further refine our understanding of these planets so that the James Webb Space Telescope can follow up. More observations of the system are sure to reveal more secrets."

One day you are out exploring the vast untouched wilderness of the Canadian north-west. Trees for as far as the eyes can see. Miles upon countless miles of virgin forest. You are inspired by the clean air and unspoiled nature. You are hiking on land untouched by human hands or feet. Your mind wanders as the breeze blows. You are utterly alone with your thoughts. As you walk in primal bliss…slowly the sounds of nature recede. Unnoticeable at first. The sounds of the birds, crickets, and woodpeckers evaporate into utter silence. Even the cool breeze you took for granted is a no show. You wonder when did it get silent. Was it you?
Off through a slight opening in the trees you see something shiny. A glint of sunlight in an otherwise pastel living backdrop. You approach and the shiny increases. You know no one else has ever set foot this deep in the uncharted forest. Is that a soda can? A piece of snack wrapper from some adventurous litterer. What is it?
You approach closer. You feel a trickle of sweat down the small of you back. Your mind is playing tricks on you. You get closer and closer…it’s not a soda can. Pupils dilate, pulse quickens, adrenaline gushes into your system. Your brain recoils in disbelief. Half buried in the soft undergrowth is what looks like a classic UFO. A la George Pal in “Earth vs. The Flying Saucers”. You half expect to see Klatu milling around. Nothing moves. All you can hear is your pounding heartbeat. You kick into discovery mode. It looks old. It has been here a very long time judging by the forest overgrowth. Silver-ish in color. The only explanation is that this is a genuine alien aircraft. You feverishly take your GPS coordinates.
Should you spirit the craft away in your barn in the woods, garage in the meat-packing district, or abandoned subway station. One of the three. Take care to prevent being followed! Prepare to live paranoid. No men in black yet…that is a good sign.
Being science-minded you consider the idea of something like this crashing in the first place. Paradox!
You understand the only option any alien race would have for travel through the unfathomably enormous distances and durations of space-time. To get here with any hope of doing whatever it is you might posit they intend to do they would have to bend space-time.
Ok. So they are folding space and unfolding at their will to travel without any relativistic side effects and without, as such, taking any time to do it. They are essentially popping into existence at will. I know what they are not doing – they’re not flying around in our atmosphere like aircraft. They are not accidentally losing control “in the air” and crashing down in a forest like infant-superman. Their ships don’t have “wings”, they don’t hover over farm houses, probe your ass, kill your cows, fly in formation, or dart through the sky in any way. I would go so far as to say they can be invisible to any spectrum at will. If anything happened they could just pop back instantly home.
Above all else, they don’t crash. They have complete control over what they do. Why? Because all the capabilities I describe above are side effects of being able to fold space at will. The notion of crashing and the notion of bending space-time are incompatible. So something else is afoot.
Now what?
Call a lawyer. Preferably one that is skilled in the law of salvage? Under maritime and aviation law, you may be able to get legal title to whatever is on the alien spacecraft, including intellectual property. This could be extremely valuable. With the help of the lawyer, find reliable witnesses. With them watching, document it in every possible, non-intrusive way — still pictures, audio, and video recordings. Have them provide sworn affidavits as to its existence — this in case someone takes it away from you. Store an encrypted copy of the documentation someplace safe that is nowhere near you.
Could It Be Dangerous?
The technologies contained inside the ship easily has the potential to push humanity into a post-scarcity existence.
Scientists have confirmed that microbes from Earth survived the decontamination process on Earth, survived orbit, and then survived reentry because they were recovered after all that. So your crashed alien ship definitely has alien life on it, of the single-celled variety. Should you torch the thing? But it’s already been sitting on the ground, so anything it’s got has already contaminated the area. Therefore, the human race’s top experts on the dangers of infectious disease should be told about the unprecedented ground zero that just appeared. If anything exotic is found…you should probably take a minute to set your affairs in order because you’re gonna be quarantined indefinitely.
Your mind rushes to a sea of dollar signs. This thing could hold a copy of the Encyclopedia Galactica. Untold technological advances could be yours.
Imagine you are one of the brightest minds in Victorian England. A nuclear submarine is transported back in time – so obviously you start messing around to find what makes it tick. You extract the control rods / drums from the nuclear reactor. You just exposed an active highly radioactive core. No more London – because no one knew about radioactivity back then. It gets worse if we are talking about invasion grade nano gray goo, or terra-forming goo, or Cthulu forbid something like a Kerr black hole energy storage. And that’s just stuff we already know it’s possible. The only place you should experiment with alien technology is past the orbit of Pluto, on an airless rock wired to the biggest, baddest bomb you can imagine and rigged to go off if something as much as twitches. Oh, and the rock should be on an escape trajectory from the solar system. But, that would be the smart thing to do, us humans rarely do the smart thing.
But it can be clearly and unmistakably identified as an alien craft, it does at least prove that we are not alone in the universe, which is an enormously important insight in itself. Your task should be, not to use or reverse-engineer the ship, but to make its very existence known.
Document it in every way possible before going public with your discovery. Photographs, films, reliable witnesses etc. etc. It is inevitable that the authorities will snatch the wreck as soon as they learn about it, but make sure they will never be able to put a lid on the story and pretend the whole thing never happened. They may not even try, despite the whole Roswell mythology about how the government will “always” suppress evidence of ET, but with a discovery of this magnitude, you shouldn’t take any chances. The authorities will try to study and reverse-engineer the ship, but as noted, this is almost certainly a futile pursuit. In any case, it is a job best left to the greatest scientists that can be found, not something you should attempt on your own.
What You Should Really Do.
Start by anonymously sharing very basic information about it with possible media outlets, scientists, and businesses. Be careful to maintain your anonymity, and do not mention aliens. Grab a digital camera and start taking as many detailed pictures as you can, ensure all of your pictures are in RAW and JPEG. Ensure that your pictures contain landmarks as well as evidence of the crash site itself there can be no question surrounding either the authenticity or providence of these pictures. Now you have 2 choices. Upload them all, RAW and JPEG, to somewhere they will be disseminated quickly and won’t be able to easily be taken down or removed by fraudulent DMCA notices (perhaps Reddit), or encrypt them and find a way to get them along with a written statement to some reputable journalist before the US Government shows up on your doorstep and you disappear (a la Edward Snowden).
Get feedback from all of those sources to figure out what your options are and who seems to be willing to interact with you in a safe way.
Then, it depends on whether you can separate any part of the craft to show the technology to people to get additional feedback and a sense for where a bigger reveal might land you. If you can’t, then share information carefully. Also, have an online lockbox with evidence and some kind of tracker on the craft that will provide information to your friends. So that in case someone kidnaps you or something else happens, you have some leverage or chance of being saved.
Or… If that’s too complicated, you could do some research on what researchers at a big university would be interested in and able to analyze unknown technology. And then very publicly take it to that university and tell everyone along the way to get a lot of attention, and so that there are a ton of cell phone videos and postings on the net. That way, too many people know about it for an easy cover up.
If you don’t do these simple things…Beg for your life. Seriously. Start begging. You aren’t begging to the aliens. You are begging to the very nice men and women who are about to show up in the SUVs with tinted windows. They WILL take it from you. They will take any photos or other evidence that you try and keep. And lastly, they will take you.
If you are lucky you will undergo days of interrogation while being in quarantine and to liven up your days it will be interspersed with vigorous invasive medical testing.
After all that your choices are slim. 6-foot hole. 8 by 10 cell. Comfy padded room. Best case scenario, nondisclosure agreement, and release. Worst case scenario your body turns up in a ditch the victim of an apparent suicide.
You have to be smart about all this. Your life will never be the same. It is completely up to you if it will be a long and fruitful life or not.
VIDEOOp een drukbijgewoonde persconferentie heeft de Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie NASA deze avond bekendgemaakt dat er zeven aarde-achtige planeten zijn ontdekt rond de dwergster Trappist-1. Drie van die planeten bevinden zich dicht genoeg bij de warmte van de ster om leefbaar te zijn en lijken qua omvang op de aarde. "Buitenaards leven is dus mogelijk", klonk het. "De vraag is niet of we een tweede aarde zullen vinden, maar wel wanneer."
De ontdekking is uniek, want nooit eerder werden zoveel exoplaneten - planeten buiten ons zonnestelsel - rond één ster gevonden. Bovendien lijken de planeten qua omvang op de aarde en bevinden ze zich op nog geen veertig lichtjaren afstand van onze planeet, en dat is in ons heelal "om de hoek".
De vondst heeft een Belgisch kantje, want het zijn Luikse astronomen die de vier op de aarde lijkende exoplaneten rond de dwergster Trappist-1 hebben ontdekt, nadat ze vorig jaar de eerste drie exoplaneten al hadden ontdekt.
Een team onder leiding van astronoom Michaël Gillon, verbonden aan de universiteit van Luik, had eind 2015 immers al een nieuw planetair systeem waargenomen. De ster werd Trappist-1 gedoopt en is veel kleiner en kouder dan onze zon. Gillon gebruikte hiervoor de 'TRAnsiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope (TRAPPIST)' in Chili, maar de naam is evenzeer een knipoog naar ons land.
Rotsen en water Rond de ster werden toen ook al drie exoplaneten ontdekt, die qua temperatuur en omvang vergelijkbaar zijn met de aarde. Nu hebben de astronomen met behulp van NASA-telescoop Spitzer dus nog vier andere planeten rond Trappist-1 ontdekt, die eveneens qua afmeting vergelijkbaar zijn met onze aardbol. De in totaal zeven planeten werden, afhankelijk van hun afstand tot de ster, Trappist-1b, c, d, e, f, g en h gedoopt. Drie van die zeven bevinden zich volgens de wetenschappers in de "bewoonbare zone", namelijk op een afstand waar een rotsachtige planeet grote hoeveelheden vloeibaar water zou kunnen bevatten.
"Ter vergelijking, ons zonnestelsel telt twee planeten met omvang van de aarde. Slechts één daarvan, onze planeet, bevindt zich in een bewoonbare zone. Met drie planeten die aan die voorwaarden voldoen, lijkt Trappist-1 een ongelooflijk rijk planetair systeem te zijn", zegt Gillon.
De onderzoekers zullen hun observaties voortzetten. Ze hopen binnenkort meer informatie te krijgen over de massa van de planeten en over het bestaan en de grootte van hun atmosfeer (lees verder onder de video).
U hebt allicht al moeten gniffelen bij de naam die aan de ster gegeven werd, maar ze werd inderdaad - naar analogie met de astronoom die ze heeft ontdekt - vernoemd naar een Belgische delicatesse, het trappistbier.
En er is nog meer opvallends. Ook het project zelf verwijst naar een Belgische lekkernij: de speculoos. Want Gillons onderzoek naar exoplaneten heet officieel 'Search for habitable Planets EClipsing ULtra-cOOl-Stars', of SPECULOOS.
Onder meer de Amerikaanse krant 'The Washington Post' liet zich al op een grapje betrappen: "Like Trappist beer, speculoos cookies are a Belgian delicacy. His next effort will have to be called WAFFLES" of "Hoe zal de volgende ontdekking worden genoemd: 'Wafels'?
Welke naam de zeven nieuwe planeten zullen meekrijgen, is nog niet geweten. Gillon zelf opperde tijdens de persconferentie ze te vernoemen naar Belgische bieren.
Gigantisch aantal In de afgelopen jaren zijn bijna 3.500 planeten buiten ons zonnestelsel ontdekt. Daarnaast zijn er bijna 4.700 potentiële exoplaneten. Van al die planeten zitten er 44 in de leefbare zone. Maar wetenschappers zijn pas net begonnen met zoeken en tellen. Het werkelijke aantal exoplaneten ligt waarschijnlijk veel hoger. Alleen al in onze Melkweg zijn naar schatting honderden miljarden sterren, en er zijn honderden miljarden sterrenstelsels in het heelal. En waarschijnlijk hebben vrijwel al die sterren planeten om zich heen draaien.

This is a selection of ufos I have uploaded in the past. They had very little views and I feel that people need to see them. The final picture ( also thumbnail ) was uploaded a few years ago on a small video with a NASA link. Within 12 hours, the picture had been changed and a different photo of the moon, without huge object had replaced it. Of course I was accused of fraud by trolls as it did not show in the linked photo. I eventually removed the video. During a recent thunderstorm in the US a UFO appeared. It's not clear whether the UFO got hit by the lightning strike or whether it was using the lightning for it's energy. After the lightning strike the UFO becomes visible for a 30 seconds and illuminates the sky and the surrounding area. Then a second lightning strike is heard and the UFO dissappears. When the UFO disappears the area turns dark again. I made a short video analysis of the footage to explain what happened.

Filmed and took pictures for about 45 minutes. It never moved very much. It was spinning and had structural design. Very similar to ufo's on tv. I felt very curious about it. Called my wife, she went outside and saw it too. I was also with my friend who witnessed it also. I have many more photos and lots of video that wouldn't upload. This was taken with an iPhone 7 plus with a telephoto camera. It was still there when we got home and I don't know when it left.

I rarely review other people’s reviews except of my own books. But I think I need to make an exception. Two very scholarly sounding experts have reviewed at great length Annie Jacobsen’s strangely inaccurate and misleading book “Area 51” on their site Washington Decoded. It supposedly tells all about the mysterious highly classified base not far from Las Vegas, In addition it provides an entirely new and totally unsubstantiated and unbelievable explanation for the Roswell Incident. I ,too, reviewed the book in one of my monthly columns and could frankly find nothing to support her extraordinary claim that beings manipulated by Joseph Mengele (in cooperation with Joseph Stalin) somehow piloted a German Horton Brothers flying wing vehicle to crash near Roswell to panic America..
In this instance two very formidable sounding professionals, Dr. Robert S. Norris and Dr. Jeffrey T. Richelson, recently published a very lengthy negative review of her book and also managed to somehow demonstrate the intellectual bankruptcy of the pseudo science of anti-ufology. They correctly note that she made no reference to a host of directly applicable sources and made loads of factual mistakes re Area 51 related matters. Then, amazingly, they commit many errors of omission and commission about Roswell and surprisingly some other items and also libel me. And frankly I am angry.

I was surprised at some gaps in their knowledge. For example, they noted that Annie three different times falsely referred to a hero of mine, Dr. Vannevar Bush, as head of the Manhattan Project. That distinction fell to General Leslie Groves for the Army Corps of Engineers and the technical director, Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer. But then they refer to Bush only as “Science Adviser to President Franklin Roosevelt and as such was chairman of a 3 member oversight committee known as the military Policy Committee, that usually rubber stamped decisions that Groves had already made.”. Their major source about Bush was G. Pascal Zachary, “Endless Frontier: Vannevar Bush, Engineer of the American Century”. Zachary was a reporter for the Wall Street journal and as far as I could tell did not know much about Bush’s highly classified activities. One would think that the fact that VB was head of the Office of Scientific Research and Development during the war might have been noted. Thousands of engineers and scientists worked on projects funded by the OSRD. These included such important developments as that of the proximity fuse, radar, and indeed the Manhattan Engineering District. Their description is a bit like referring to Harry Truman as a Missouri haberdasher and ignoring his service in the US Senate and as US President.
They refer to only 3 Roswell books,(and touted debunkers like Phil Klass) none of them by serious researchers who searched for and interviewed first hand witnesses, visited archives and crash sites, etc There is no mention of such books as “The Roswell Incident” by Charles Berlitz and William Moore and to which I was a major contributor;“The Truth about the Roswell Incident” and ”The Real Truth about the Roswell Incident”, by Don Schmitt, and Kevin Randle, “Crash at Corona”,by Don Berliner” and myself and “Witness to Roswell” by Don Schmitt and Tom Carey .etc. They were aware of my existence as shall be noted later, but misrepresented my background and ignored a bunch of papers which I have published besides my books. They are upset that Annie repeats a nice comment about me by Larry King, but obviously couldn’t be bothered checking out me or my publications.

They state “Strewn throughout her story, moreover are numerous mistakes and questionable claims”. That is certainly true. But it is true of them as well. They blindly accept the 2 big Government Roswell volumes seemingly accepting everything in them as Gospel though many errors have been described for many years.
Here is how they describe the Roswell Incident ”… refers to some metallic debris that was found on 7 July 1947 at a ranch approximately 75 miles northwest of Roswell, New Mexico. The rancher who discovered it contacted the local sheriff who contacted Roswell Army Air Field. Several Intelligence officers were sent and collected portion of the debris and took it to Roswell AAF that evening. The next day, the public information officer released a statement saying that a flying disc had been recovered. The front page headline of the July 8 edition of the Roswell Daily Record was “RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region”. The debris was then flown to 8th Air Force Headquarters at Fort Worth AAF in Texas and inspected. The conclusion was that the debris was the remnants of a weather balloon”. Later they said it was a balloon… since when are balloons made of metal??
The facts indicate that this is much less than accurate. In the first place the rancher had found the debris within a few days prior to Saturday, July 5, when he went to Corona and showed some to friends at the General Store there. The Rancher did not get a newspaper and had no phone and had not heard about flying saucers until the people in Corona told him about them and that there was a reward out for pieces. They suggested he go to the Sheriff in Roswell. He took a small portion of what was on the huge debris field to Sheriff Wilcox on July 6. The sheriff contacted RAAF and spoke with Major Jesse Marcel who actually handled the wreckage and was ordered by his boss Colonel William Blanchard to take a Counter Intelligence officer with him and follow the rancher to his place out miles from any road. They spent the night, viewed the debris field the next day, and brought back a small portion in their vehicles. Colonel Blanchard then ordered Major Marcel to have one of their B-29s take him and the wreckage to Wright field making a stop at their headquarters in Fort Worth. Somehow not only are the dates and sequence fouled up, but no mention is made of the fact that the Roswell group, the 509th was the most elite military group in the world having dropped two atomic bombs on Japan in 1945 and 2 more during Operation Crossroads in 1946. Blanchard went on to receive 4 more promotions and was a 4 star general serving as Vice-chief of Staff of the USAF when he died of a massive heart attack at the Pentagon. He had served as Operations office for the Strategic Air Command when it had thousands of nuclear warheads at its disposal. Marcel was the intelligence officer of this most elite group. Both Marcel and Blanchard were very familiar with weather balloons since they were launched every day at the base,and would have immediately recognized the wreckage as such. Marcel handled the strange wreckage in Roswell. He would never have been sent out without noting that the material was very strange. Norris and Richelson praise highly, “The Roswell Report: Truth Versus fiction in the Roswell Desert” (by Disinformation specialist Colonel Weaver) without noting all the fiction supplied by the Air Force. For example, it claims it was Project Mogul, a Top Secret Program, launched 4 June. The fact is that the original newspaper accounts (the story appeared and grew in evening papers from Chicago West.) say the wreckage was found “last week” .The rancher had been in the area just days before. Outstanding research by Dr. David Rudiak showed it could not have been that Mogul launch. The program was not TOP secret. Only the purpose was TS. If it had been TS, there would have been a chase plane along at each launch and the balloons and equipment would never have been allowed to remain in the desert.
The foolish claim was made that the huge report was a declassification effort. It was a propaganda effort.
Norris and Richelson foolishly state the balloons were made of special material. They were standard neoprene weather balloons. They speak very enthusiastically of the Air Force report and seem not to have caught any of its many mistakes. For example it states a National Enquirer article about Marcel appeared in 1978. It was actually in 1980 and was a result of my putting outstanding journalist Robert Pratt in touch with Jesse Marcel because the first Book “The Roswell Incident” was due to be published.
The report makes it sound as though I worked separately from Berlitz and Moore and got my ideas from the Enquirer, when I actually worked very closely with Moore for years. I told Moore about Roswell. They mention a strange grossly misleading book by three professors which also insinuated that Marcel was paid by the Enquirer. Of course none of these debunkers give any information about my background. To the USAF I am a UFO researcher. To Norris and Richelson I am “a UFO conspiracy Theorist.” No mention that I am a nuclear physicist, that I worked on classified advanced technology programs for 14 years for GE,GM, Westinghouse, Aerojet General Nucleonics etc. or that I have visited 20 different Archives , many times they claim that any ”positive reputation Friedman has is apparently restricted to those who believe in UFOs and Extraterrestrials.”
No source is given for these nonsensical charges. They might have mentioned that I belong to the American Nuclear Society, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the American Physical Society. No mention that I have lectured on topics such as “Flying Saucers ARE Real” and or “Flying Saucers and Science” to more than 700 colleges and professional groups in all 50 states, all 10 Canadian provinces and 18 other countries. I have had loads of favorable comments from these institutions. Are all of these “believers in UFOs and Extraterrestrials?” There is no mention of all the evidence I have provided such as dozens of TOP Secret almost completely blacked out CIA UFO documents, or 156 almost completed whited out NSA UFO documents. Seemingly they are unaware of the comments made by USAF General Carroll Bolender “Reports of UFOs which could affect national security are made in accordance with JANAP 146 or USAF Manual 55-11 and are NOT part of the Blue Book System” and “Termination of Project Blue Book would leave no official federal office to receive reports of UFOs. However, as already stated, reports of UFOs which could affect national security would continue to be handled through the standard Air Force procedures designed for this purpose.” I located and spoke with General Bolender. I would bet these guys never heard of him. Obviously the USAF has been lying ever since his October 20, 1969, memo which resulted in the closure of Project Blue Book. The USAF has since then falsely claimed there is no national security concern with UFOs and they have been doing nothing about them. They don’t mention the Congressional UFO Symposium of July 29, 1968, which involved 12 presentations by scientists including me, or the biggest study ever done for the USAF, Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14. Of course, like Jacobsen they are guilty of “authorial malpractice.”
Norris and Richelson also buy into the 2nd foolish USAF volume “The Roswell Report: Case Closed”. “The aliens observed in the New Mexico desert were probably anthropomorphic test dummies that were carried aloft by high altitude balloons. Some 43 high altitude balloon flights were launched and recovered throughout NM between June 1954 and February 1959.” Considering that the Roswell Incident occurred in July 1947 (Time travel, I guess) and the bodies, one of whose pictures is in the USAF Report, were 6’ tall and weighed 175 pounds, and was in a uniform and could not possibly have morphed even with time travel into a 4’ tall alien with a big head, one is astonished at their naivety. I talked to the head of the program, Colonel Madsen. Of course, he isn’t mentioned by them, nor did the USAF talk to him though they showed an old picture of him and one of the dummies.
In short, we have erudite people saying false and misleading things. I, of course, cannot know whether it is out of laziness, bias, ignorance or because they were conspiring to protect the reputation of the USAF. They owe us all an apology.

Gammastraling kan erop wijzen dat zich in het hart van het Andromedastelsel donkere materie ophoudt.
Het is een spannende ontdekking, vindt onderzoeker Pierrick Martin. “We verwachten dat donkere materie zich in de binnenste regionen van de Melkweg en andere sterrenstelsels verzamelt, daarom is het vinden van zo’n compact signaal heel opwindend.” Het compacte signaal waar Martin over spreekt, werd gedetecteerd met behulp van ruimtetelescoop Fermi. De telescoop speurt naar gammastraling en vond in het hart van het Andromedastelsel een bijzonder signaal.
Gammastraling Gammastraling ontstaat doordat kosmische straling de interactie aangaat met gaswolken en het licht van sterren. De laatste gegevens van Fermi laten zien dat de gammastraling overvloedig aanwezig is in het hart van het Andromedastelsel. Die ongebruikelijke distributie van de gammastraling zag Fermi eerder ook in het hart van ons eigen sterrenstelsel: de Melkweg. En het kan erop wijzen dat in het hart van deze sterrenstelsels donkere materie huist.
Hier zie je de overvloed aan gammastraling (in geel en oranje/rood) in het hart van het Andromedastelsel.

Pulsars? Helemaal zeker weten de onderzoekers dat dus niet. De gammastraling kan namelijk ook afkomstig zijn van een groot aantal pulsars in het hart van M31. Deze draaiende neutronensterren zijn ongeveer twee keer zo zwaar als de zon en hebben een ongelofelijk grote dichtheid. Omdat het Andromedastelsel zo’n 2,5 miljoen lichtjaar van ons verwijderd is, is het lastig om individuele pulsars in het hart van het stelsel te vinden. Toch zijn onderzoekers voornemens om uit te zoeken of pulsars de bron van de gammastraling kunnen zijn. En wel door onze kennis over pulsars in de Melkweg los te laten op nog te maken röntgen- en radio-observaties van het Andromedastelsel.
Mysteries Of donkere materie nu verantwoordelijk is voor de distributie van donkere materie in het Andromedastelsel of niet: onderzoekers zijn in hun nopjes met de ontdekking. Met name omdat het signaal in het hart van het Andromedastelsel vergelijkbaar is met dat in het hart van onze eigen Melkweg. Het betekent namelijk dat onderzoekers deze informatie kunnen gebruiken om mysteries in het Andromedastelsel én de Melkweg op te lossen. Zo blijkt bijvoorbeeld dat de grote schijf van het Andromedastelsel – de plek waar de meeste sterren ontstaan – relatief weinig gammastraling afgeeft. Het suggereert dat zich daar weinig kosmische straling ophoudt. Maar kosmische straling wordt doorgaans in verband gebracht met stervorming. Hoe zit dat dan? Het wijst erop dat het Andromedastelsel op een andere manier kosmische straling produceert of dat de kosmische straling sneller aan dit stelsel weet te ontsnappen. “We begrijpen niet helemaal welke rol kosmische straling in sterrenstelsel speelt of hoe de straling door deze sterrenstelsels reist,” vertelt onderzoeker Xian Hou. “M31 (het Andromedastelsel, red.) laat zien hoe kosmische straling zich gedraagt onder omstandigheden die anders zijn dan de omstandigheden in ons eigen sterrenstelsel.”
Dat er overeenkomsten zijn in de distributie van gammastraling in de Melkweg en het Andromedastelsel suggereert bovendien dat we door het Andromedastelsel te bestuderen, meer te weten kunnen komen over onze eigen Melkweg. En dat is goed nieuws. Want niet alle delen van de Melkweg zijn vanuit het sterrenstelsel zelf goed te bekijken. “Ons sterrenstelsel lijkt zo sterk op het Andromedastelsel dat we er echt baat bij hebben om het (Andromedastelsel, red.) te bestuderen, omdat we zo meer kunnen leren over ons sterrenstelsel en de totstandkoming ervan,” vertelt onderzoeker Regina Caputo.

De zeven planeten zijn qua grootte vergelijkbaar met de aarde en drie ervan bevinden zich bovendien in de leefbare zone!
Dat hebben astronomen zojuist bekend gemaakt. Ze ontdekten de zeven planeten met behulp van telescopen in de ruimte en op aarde, waaronder de Very Large Telescope (VLT) en ruimtetelescoop Spitzer.
IN DE OVERGANG
Wanneer de zeven planeten – gezien vanaf de aarde – voor TRAPPIST-1 – langs bewegen, neemt de helderheid van de ster iets af. Voor astronomen is het observeren van dergelijke ‘planeetovergangen’ heel interessant, omdat ze tijdens zo’n overgang meer te weten kunnen komen over de afmetingen, omloopbanen en samenstellingen van de planeten. Zo ontdekten ze niet alleen dat zes van de zeven planeten rotsachtig zijn, maar ook dat deze qua temperatuur aan de aarde doen denken.
TRAPPIST-1 Het draait allemaal – letterlijk – om de ultrakoele dwergster TRAPPIST-1. Deze ster is slechts 40 lichtjaar van ons verwijderd en blijkt dus zeven(!) planeten te bezitten. En alle zeven planeten zijn qua grootte vergelijkbaar met de aarde (zie kader). Zes van de planeten (de binnenste exemplaren) zijn zeer waarschijnlijk rotsachtig en ook qua temperatuur vergelijkbaar met de aarde. Drie ervan bevinden zich bovendien in de leefbare zone. “Dit is een verbazingwekkend planetenstelsel,” vindt onderzoeker Michaël Gillon. “Niet alleen omdat we zoveel planeten hebben ontdekt, maar ook omdat ze stuk voor stuk ongeveer zo groot zijn als de aarde.”
Lekker dichtbij De planeten hebben de namen TRAPPIST-1b, -c, -d, -e, -f, -g en -h gekregen. TRAPPIST-1b staat het dichtst bij de ster, TRAPPIST-1h is het verst van de ster verwijderd. De planeten draaien in een nauwe baan om de ster heen: hun omloopbanen zijn veel kleiner dan die van Mercurius, de planeet die in ons zonnestelsel het dichtst bij de zon staat. Je zou misschien denken dat het snikheet is op de planeten, omdat ze zo dicht bij hun ster staan. Maar vergeet niet dat TRAPPIST-1 geen zonachtige ster is. Het is een ultrakoele dwergster. De ster is nauwelijks groter dan de planeet Jupiter en geeft lang niet zoveel energie af als onze zon. Het betekent bijvoorbeeld dat de planeten TRAPPIST-1c, -d en -f ongeveer net zoveel energie opvangen als Venus, de aarde en Mars (in die volgorde).
De omloopbanen van de zeven planeten in vergelijking met de omloopbanen van de vier grote manen van Jupiter. De omloopbaan van Mercurius is nog zes keer verder van de zon verwijderd dan TRAPPIST-1h van TRAPPIST-1 verwijderd is.

Water Het brengt ons natuurlijk op de volgende interessante vraag: is er op deze zeven planeten dan misschien water te vinden? “De energieproductie van dwergsterren als TRAPPIST-1 is veel geringer dan die van onze zon,” vertelt onderzoeker Amaury Triaud. “Om water op hun oppervlak te kunnen hebben, moeten planeten veel kleinere omloopbanen volgen dan we in ons zonnestelsel gewend zijn. Gelukkig lijkt TRAPPIST-1 door precies zo’n compacte configuratie van planeten omgeven te zijn.” Het betekent niet dat op alle planeten vloeibaar water te vinden is. Zo zijn TRAPPIST-1b, -c en -d waarschijnlijk te heet om vloeibaar water te bezitten. TRAPPIST-1h is waarschijnlijk weer te koud (waardoor eventueel water bevriest). Helemaal zeker weten de onderzoekers dat laatste echter niet. Ze kunnen namelijk niet uitsluiten dat op deze planeet alternatieve warmteprocessen optreden. Een voorbeeld van zo’n warmteproces is getijdenopwarming. Hierbij warmt de planeet op doordat deze door toedoen van de zwaartekracht van de ster van vorm verandert. Ook een waterstofrijke atmosfeer zou het warmteverlies van de planeet zodanig kunnen beperken dat deze warm genoeg is om vloeibaar water te bevatten. Dergelijke capriolen hoeven de planeten TRAPPIST-1e, -f en -g waarschijnlijk niet uit te halen. Zij bevinden zich namelijk in de leefbare zone: een denkbeeldige zone rond TRAPPIST-1 waarin de temperaturen hoog genoeg zijn om te voorkomen dat eventueel vloeibaar water op het oppervlak van de planeten bevriest, maar niet zo hoog dat eventueel vloeibaar water verdampt. Op deze drie planeten zouden in theorie dus oceanen te vinden kunnen zijn.
Hier zie je de omloopbanen van de zeven planeten. De omloopbaan van TRAPPIST-1h is nog niet helemaal bekend. Het grijze vlak staat symbool voor de leefbare zone. Waar de grenzen van de leefbare zone liggen, is niet helemaal duidelijk. Daar zijn verschillende theorieën over. De streepjeslijnen die je in dit grijze vlak ziet staan, zijn alternatieve grenzen van deze leefbare zone die op andere theoretische aannames gebaseerd zijn.

Leven? Het moge duidelijk zijn dat onderzoekers niet kunnen wachten tot ze een gedetailleerder beeld krijgen van deze zeven planeten en dan met name van de drie exemplaren in de leefbare zone. Want is er op deze planeten wellicht ook leven? “Eerst zullen we moeten onderzoeken of deze planeten überhaupt een atmosfeer hebben,” vertelt professor Ignas Snellen, niet betrokken bij het onderzoek, aan Scientias.nl. “Als een planeet voor de ster langstrekt sijpelt er ook een klein beetje sterlicht door de planeetatmosfeer heen, waardoor er in sommige kleuren absorptie optreedt. Door deze kleuren precies te meten kunnen we achterhalen wat voor gassen er in de atmosfeer voorkomen. In de dampkring van de aarde zit bijvoorbeeld zuurstof dat hier alleen maar zit omdat het door plantenleven wordt aangemaakt – zonder leven geen zuurstof. Zo zou een detectie van zuurstof op een andere planeet ook een eerste aanwijzing voor biologische activiteit kunnen zijn.”
Dit plaatje laat zien hoe groot TRAPPIST-1 in vergelijking met de zon en Jupiter is. De ster heeft ongeveer 1/8 van de massa van onze zon en is qua grootte vergelijkbaar met Jupiter. Ook de omvang van de planeten worden vergeleken met de omvang van enkele planeten in ons zonnestelsel en de manen van Jupiter.

Meer tijd Dat de ster waar deze planeten omheen draaien anders is dan onze zon hoeft in feite geen belemmering te zijn voor het ontstaan van leven op de planeten. Sterker nog: het kan een voordeel zijn. “Kleine rode dwergsterren worden enorm oud – 1000 keer ouder dan de zon,” vertelt Snellen. “Dus er is in ieder geval wel veel meer tijd om leven te vormen.”

Bijzonder Of er nu leven is of niet: TRAPPIST-1 heeft ons in ieder geval versteld doen staan. Want het overvolle planetenstelsel is in meerdere opzichten bijzonder. Zo is er nog niet eerder een stelsel ontdekt dat zoveel planeten telt die qua omvang vergelijkbaar zijn met de aarde en zich ook nog eens in de leefbare zone bevinden. Wat ook bijzonder is, is dat er nog nooit zoveel exoplaneten ontdekt zijn die vrijwel in resonantie zijn met elkaar. Wat betekent dat? De onderzoekers keken hoe de omlooptijd – de tijd die een planeet nodig heeft om een rondje rond de ster te voltooien – van de verschillende planeten zich tot elkaar verhield. Uit dat onderzoek blijkt dat de verhouding tussen de omlooptijden van de binnenste zes planeten uit te drukken is in gehele getallen (bijvoorbeeld 5:3 en 3:2). Het suggereert dat de planeten op grotere afstand van de ster zijn ontstaan en later naar de ster toe zijn gereisd. Als dat inderdaad het geval is, zou het kunnen betekenen dat de planeten veel vluchtige stoffen bevatten en is er een gerede kans dat ze omringd worden door een atmosfeer en water (of ijs) op hun oppervlak hebben liggen. Op de vraag wat Snellen het meest verrast heeft aan dit stelsel, antwoordt hij: “Dat het stelsel zo veel op Jupiter en haar manen lijkt – maar dan in massa 80 keer zwaarder is zodat de manen aard-massa planeten zijn, en Jupiter een kleine dwergster. Het lijkt erop dat het Jupiter-systeem en TRAPPIST-1 op dezelfde wijze gevormd zijn.”

Met de ontdekking van dit planetenstelsel zijn ons weer een aantal nieuwe aardachtige planeten bekend. Maar het tweelingbroertje van de aarde hebben we nog steeds niet gevonden. Dat kan ook nog wel even duren, denkt Snellen. “Met de huidige telescopen lukt dit niet, maar waarschijnlijk wel met PLATO-missie van ESA welke in 2024 gelanceerd gaat worden. Deze kan planeetovergangen van rotsachtige planeten in aardbanen gaan zien rond zonachtige sterren.” TRAPPIST-1 is dan ook zeer waarschijnlijk niet het laatste wereldnieuws dat uit de koker van astronomenkomt.
Hoe zien de planeten rond TRAPPIST-1 eruit? Dat blijft gissen. Maar misschien wel zo! Hier zie je de zeven planeten op rij, met daaronder hun omlooptijd, de afstand tot hun ster (1 AU is de afstand tussen de aarde en de zon), hun straal en massa.

A UFO hunter who claims to have filmed activity at a top-secret US Airforce base for THREE YEARS, claims space craft are regularly flying out from there.
Steven Barone has scores of videos on his YouTube channel, UFOs in the USA, that he suggests are alien UFOs or top secret US space vehicles hovering over the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.
The base, like top-secret Area 51 in the Nevada desert, is alleged by conspiracy theorists to be where the US authorities hide the remains of crashed flying saucers and dead aliens, and where secretive technology is developed and tested.
Some even claim that visiting aliens have been allowed to use the bases to keep them from public view.
But, Mr Barone claims to be on to the secret via his YouTube channel.
He says he may have filmed space craft developed at the air base on numerous occasions.
His latest footage was filmed on February 19 near the base.
He wrote about the video: "If you haven't heard of the USA space fleet I highly suggest you look up Solar Warden or Gary McKinnon.

Asperger's Syndrome sufferer Mr McKinnon, who avoided extradition to the US over his hacking exploits after a high-profile campaign, reported seeing details of non-terrestrial officers on a database.
Conspiracy theorists claim this must mean a secret fleet of space officers, but sceptics point out it could mean standard airforce or even naval officers.
However, Scott C Waring, editor of ufosightingsdaily.com, believes there are actually aliens based at Nellis Airfocebase.
In response to Mr Barone's latest video, he blogged: "Here is a great sighting that took place just a few days ago in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"It was over Nellis AFB which has over 1,000 square miles of land... but people never question why they need so much land.
"It's because the Tall White aliens moved in.
"The USAF let the Tall Whites build their own underground base behind the old firing range.
"An alien race thats lives up to 800 years and is highly arrogant and aggressive."
But, a UFO debunker claims Mr Barone is mistaken, and is simply filming car headlights descending down a mountain road in the distance on each occasion.
A declassified Central Intelligence Agency document reveals that in 1984, the CIA employed a psychic “remote viewer” to look at a region of Mars as it was approximately one million years ago. The remote viewer, who was not aware that the coordinates given were on the planet Mars, described seeing pyramids, futuristic technologies and a very tall human-looking civilization facing impending environmental calamity.

What makes the CIA documentremarkable is that the coordinates provided to the unknown remote viewer were of the Cydonia region as depicted in a series of Viking Orbiter images of Mars in 1976. Cydonia became famous after a succession of researchers claimed that the region contained a face, ruins of a city, and pyramids.
The first reference to artificial structures found in Cydonia date to an October 25, 1977, National Enquirer article titled “Did NASA Photograph Ruins of an Ancient City on Mars?” It’s worth pointing out that the Enquirer was a tabloid run by Gene Pope, a CIA asset who was trained in psychological warfare.
Pope and the National Enquirer’s chief purpose was to hide the truth in plain sight by releasing it in sensationalized news stories with questionable sources that would be widely ridiculed by the general public. Subsequently, any academics or scientists prepared to investigate such sensational claims faced ridicule from their peers and ruining their professional careers.
Nevertheless, competent researchers did turn their attention to the now controversial Viking Orbiter images and found that they indeed did appear to show an artificially created “Face on Mars”, nearby ruins dubbed “Inca City”, and even pyramids.
The first objective analysis of the Viking data was published in 1982 in Omni Magazine by the researchers Vincent DiPietro, an electrical engineer, and Gregory Molenaar, a computer engineer. Their 1982 Omni article was an extract of their 77-page book, Unusual Martian Surface Features, also released that year. They were soon followed by other independent researchers such as Richard Hoagland who in 1987 authored The Monuments of Mars: A City on the Edge of Forever.
What this short review of the history of the Viking images of Cydonia tells us is that while researchers such as DiPietro, Molenaar and Hoagland were widely ridiculed by their scientific peers for their analyses and conclusions, the CIA was paying very close attention.
Declassified CIA documents confirm that remote viewing was taken very seriously by the Agency and other intelligence services. Significant funding went into studying the usefulness of remote viewing as an intelligence gathering tool.
The conclusion was that remote viewing had sufficient accuracy to be utilized for field work as the following declassified CIA document dated May 9, 1984 clearly states.
Among the most accurate of remote viewers described in the CIA documents was the famed psychic Ingo Swann. In his 1998 book, Penetration, Swann described at length how the CIA utilized his remote viewing skills.
One assignment in 1975 was to spy on secret bases on the Moon, which were run by one or more extraterrestrial civilizations. In chapter five, Swann opens by describing his remote viewing of the Moon for Axelrod/Axel, a CIA officer:
Given the earlier off-planet locations assigned to top remote viewers like Swann, it is not surprising that the CIA employed a remote viewer to learn about the origins of the pyramids and other artificial Mars structures in the Cydonia region.
The protocol used for the session is described on page 2 of the CIA document, which is dated May 22, 1984:
The rest of the CIA document (pp. 3-9) is a transcript of the remote viewer responding to questions about different locations and time periods given to him (in 1984, all known remote reviewers were men). The remote viewer is referred to as “SUB.,” while the questioner is “MON.”

The coordinates are for the Cydonia region, and immediately the remote viewer describes some kind of pyramid sitting in a valley. This is remarkable corroboration for the multiple researchers who have identified pyramids in the Viking images of this exact region of Mars.
Next, the remote viewer responds to a serious of questions concerning the population living in the region shortly before planet-wide geological disturbances that occurred approximately one million years ago. He describes the population as very tall and thin, and looking to escape the disturbances which included very violent storm activity:

The Martians are waiting to travel elsewhere to survive. Some are able to escape to distant regions, presumably off-planet, as the following quote suggests:
Next, the remote viewer describes what clearly appears to be a spacecraft taking survivors to another planet over a million years ago:
The above description is very suggestive of what Earth may have looked like at the time. So did escaping Martians travel to Earth approximately a million years ago leaving behind them pyramids and other ruins in the Cydonia region, which were observed by the Viking orbiter in 1976 and the CIA’s remote viewer in 1984?

This leads to the intriguing possibility that a flash-frozen civilization recently found in Antarctica with cannibalized spacecraft nearby was the remnants of a colony originally established by Martian refugees.
Such a scenario is consistent with the claims of Secret Space Program whistleblower Corey Goode who says that extraterrestrial refugees have been finding sanctuary on Earth for at least five hundred thousand years, and that preparations are currently underway to officially disclose excavations of a flash-frozen Antarctica civilization.
Back in March 28, 2016, Goode described various insider sources that had told him about the influx of refugees from other planets during Earth’s history:
And it seems that more recent information that I’ve gotten is telling us that the Earth received refugees, at different points in history, from a couple of different planets, at least, in our solar system where the planets failed and inhabitants left and came to Earth as refugees.
Goode said that Mars was one of the planets from which the refugees originated. The Martians were highly advanced technologically with antigravity spacecraft. They engaged in aggressive warfare that led to planetary catastrophe and refugees leaving for Earth. Goode relates what he was told by inhabitants of the “Inner Earth”:
And the people in the Inner Earth Council stated that the different inhabitants of the planets in our solar system were extremely advanced technologically and extremely aggressive, and that they destroyed their civilizations and had to be relocated here as refugees by other ET races that came in.
According to Goode, Mars in particular was hit by a series of environmental catastrophes that were related to devastating wars with the inhabitants of a nearby “Super Earth”, around which both Mars and our current Moon orbited up to 500,000 years ago. The “Super Earth” orbited the sun in the area of the asteroid belt as it exists today between Mars and Jupiter.
Mars at the time had abundant water and oxygen rich atmosphere to host a large population on its surface. The existence of abundant water and oxygen on Mars in its distant past has been recentlycorroborated by scientists.
The events that led to the Super Earth’s destruction also wiped out much of the surface population on Mars, and removed the bulk of its atmosphere according to what Goode read on “smart glass pads”, which he had access to during his 20 year secret space program service.
It was postulated that Mars was most likely a moon of that Super Earth, and that it was damaged heavily on one side by massive impacts. And that most likely also stripped away its main atmosphere at the time, and it never recovered.
The force of the Super Earth’s destruction propelled Mars into its present planetary orbit.
So was there a Super Earth that was destroyed in a titanic battle, which resulted in one of its moons being sent into Earth orbit, and another being sent into its present orbit as the planet Mars?
The first major scientist to seriously research the possibility that the asteroid belt is the remains of a former planet is Dr. Thomas Van Flandern, who was the chief astronomer at the U.S. Naval Observatory. He wrote several academic papers on what he described as the “Exploded Planet Hypothesis”, which suggested that the main asteroid belt in our solar system arose from the destruction of a large planet around which Mars once orbited:
Putting all this evidence together, we have strong hints for two original planets near what is now the main asteroid belt: hypothetical “Planet V” and “Planet K”. These were probably gas giant planets with moons of significant size, such as Mars, before they exploded… The above summarizes evidence that Mars was not an original planet, but rather a moon of a now-exploded planet occupying that approximate orbit. Many of these points are the expected consequences of having a massive planet blow up nearby, thereby blasting the facing hemisphere and leaving the shielded hemisphere relatively unscathed. Especially significant in this regard is the fact that half of Mars is saturated with craters, and half is only sparsely cratered.
Van Flandern’s Exploded Planet Hypothesis lends scientific support to Goode’s claims about both the Moon and Mars being two former moons of a Super Earth. The CIA’s remote viewer’s claims of the history of Mars is therefore supported to varying extents by both Goode and Van Flandern’s information.
The remote viewer, as discussed in part one, described a planet with violent storms and volcanic activity that was very green. This certainly sounds like Earth, which at the time was likely the only planet in our solar system that would fit such a description. This leads to the question of whether the escaping Martians established colonies on Earth, at least one of which was in Antarctica.
In the remote viewers’ description of Mars, he described them as very tall and thin, and also possessing spacecraft used to transport refugees to the safe location – Earth. This is consistent with what Goode claims to have encountered when he was taken to Antarctica in early January 2017 to see first-hand what was being secretly excavated.
In a January 24 private briefing, Goode confirmed his earlier reports about a “Pre-Adamite civilization” found flash-frozen in Antarctica which was very tall and thin. He described three 30 mile long oval-shaped spacecraft nearby that appeared to have been cannibalized.

Such large ships would have been ideal space arks carrying many thousands of fleeing Martians as described by the remote viewer.
In earlier interviews, Goode described being taken into the interior of Antarctica, well under two miles of ice, and witnessed that it was volcanically very active, and that abundant thermal energy was available to be used as a power source. In the following graphic illustration of what he witnessed at a secret Antarctica base, the steam vents show the intense thermal energy used as a power source.

Goode’s description of continued volcanic activity in Antarctica is supported by abundant scientific evidence. For example, on February 19, an NPR report discussed NASA scientists conducting experiments around Mount Erebus due to flowing lava under its icy exterior, which they believe is similar to what is likely to be encountered by NASA probes on the moons of Jupiter and Saturn.

Also, a second volcano was discovered under half a mile of Antarctic ice which is also still active and can erupt at any time.
Goode’s accounts of what he witnessed in Antarctica during separate visits is consistent with the scenario described by the CIA’s remote viewer. The Martians had to flee their dying world on spacecraft to another planet – Earth – that was volcanically very active at the time. Apparently, Antarctica, if it was chosen as a safe location for a colony of the refugee Martians, was located in a more tropical location that was both very green and volcanically active approximately one million years ago.
The descendants of the Martian refugees living in Antarctica were apparently caught off-guard by a sudden “pole shift” that happened approximately 12,000 years ago and led to them being flash-frozen.
Goode has said that major announcements about discoveries in Antarctica are forthcoming which are expected to release some but not all of the truth about the discovered flash frozen civilization. His claim is supported by internet mining expert Cliff High whose “predictive linguistics” model led him to conclude in January that major announcements about Antarctic discoveries are forthcoming.
If refugee Martians did flee to Earth a million years ago and settled in Antarctica, official disclosure of these events would revolutionize our understanding of world history. The digital release of declassified CIA documents detailing remote viewing experiments do contribute in an incremental way to the disclosure process. The truth about historic events in Antarctica would help significantly in our global civilization avoiding a similar fate to what prior civilizations have encountered on Earth and elsewhere in our solar system.

A Redditor posted a time lapse from the skies in Wichita (Kansas). When he reviewed the footage at home, he saw a strange pattern of lights appear on his photographs.
His initial thought was that it must be a regular plane, except, the object makes some pretty unbelievable turns. Also the acceleration of the object is astounding. Note that the timelapse exists out of 8 seperate images and all images were taken in about 14 minutes in total. This is almost 2 minutes per photo.
If you look up other plane trails in the night sky, you'll be bombarded with them. But not one is making the same kind of steep turn.
The creator of the video (not the Redditor who posted the time lapse) estimated that he was facing the city of Wichita and thus the Air Force base.

Les sept planètes, qui pourraient avoir des températures assez proches de celles de la Terre, tournent autour d'une toute petite étoile peu lumineuse et ultra-froide, TRAPPIST-1, située dans notre galaxie, à "seulement" 40 années-lumière de nous.
"A présent, nous avons la bonne cible" pour rechercher la présence de vie éventuelle sur des exoplanètes, a déclaré Amaury Triaud, de l'Université de Cambridge, coauteur de l'étude.
Les caractéristiques de ces planètes doivent encore être étudiées plus en détail. En août 2016, des scientifiques avaient annoncé la découverte de l'exoplanète potentiellement habitable la plus proche de la Terre. Mais après plus d'études, ils avaient conclu, en février, que celle-ci ne pouvait probablement pas abriter de la vie.
