Director Ridley Scott said he could not believe the terror he had created when he went to see people watching the first "Alien" film
"Alien" creator Ridley Scott said Thursday that he was convinced that there are aliens out there -- and one day they will come for us.
The veteran director said he believed in higher beings as he prepared to release the sixth episode of the sci-fi horror series, "Alien: Covenant", next month.
"I believe in superior beings. I think it is certainly likely. An expert I was talking to at NASA said to me, 'Have you ever looked in the sky at night? You mean to tell me we are it?' That's ridiculous.
"The experts have now put a number on it having assessed what is out there. They say that there are between 100 and 200 entities that could be having a similar evolution to us right now.
"So when you see a big thing in the sky, run for it," he joked.
"Because they are a lot smarter than we are, and if you are stupid enough to challenge them you will be taken out in three seconds."
"Alien: Covenant" the second of the prequel films, is set in 2104 on board a spaceship carrying 2,000 cryogenically frozen colonists to a distant planet when they chance upon an uncharted paradise.
But their voyage soon turns into a gory nightmare that makes "Alien'"s original "chestbuster" scene seem tame in comparison.
- 'Hideous beyond belief' -
The "neomorph" aliens in the new film are based on the goblin shark "which has a jaw which hinges in two ways. It's scary, hideous beyond belief actually," Scott said.
The 79-year-old British-born director -- who was also the brains behind "Blade Runner" -- said he never tired or scaring people out of their skins.

"When I did the first 'Alien' I had to get a sense of responsibility because the reaction to the kitchen ("chestbuser") scene with John Hurt was beyond anything I expected -- and it was not good," he told AFP.
"But the film was very successful because people are perverse."
He said he could not believe the terror he had created when he went to see people watching the film. "Everybody was half underneath the seat watching by the time you get to the kitchen scene. There was a woman underneath the seat with her husband holding her. I said this is not healthy."
Scott, however, claimed that he was unshockable.
"Nothing scares me. I have a 9mm (pistol)," he said.
"If there is a problem I tend to close down into calm. When you walk in in the morning on a film and 600 people turn and all look at you, that is scary," he said.
"Alien: Covenant" has a religious subtext, the director insisted.
He said he was "agnostic", but this did not stop him making a film about Moses, "Exodus: Gods and Kings", in 2014.
"Either religion is the greatest trick played on mankind. Or it is not, and that poses some great questions, and this film is a great context for those," he said.
Scott, who was knighted in 2003, is about to make a film about the Battle of Britain during World War II, when the Royal Air Force fought off the German Luftwaffe.
"Alien: Covenant" opens across the world from May 10.
Professor Jason Wright could have the answer as the hunt for extraterrestrials in our solar system continues.
He believes "technological" aliens roamed several planets — including ancient Earth.
The Pennsylvania State professor concluded that if aliens did exist before humans, they could have left undiscovered evidence beneath the surface of Mars or in orbit in other solar systems.

His paper, entitled Prior Indigenous Technological Species, explores the possibility of pre-existing life in space.
And he believes Earth would have been the most likely planet for aliens to call home.
Professor Wright wrote: "Ancient Venus would have had a much thinner atmosphere when the Sun was significantly fainter, and the surface may have been habitable.
"After Earth, it is thus also perhaps the most likely host for a prior indigenous technological species.

"Next, the icy moons, and even the asteroids, make obvious sites where an intelligent species may have arisen."
His work comes as NASA begins to identify the landing spots on Mars for the 2022 Red Planet mission.
The space agency is evaluating three areas it believes are most likely to contain evidence of aliens.
Professor Wright said finding technosignatures on Mars could be the key to proving aliens existed before humans.
He wrote: "Prior indigenous technological species may have existed in the Solar System.
"Given the signatures humanity’s technology has already imprinted on our future geological record, we might expect such a prior species on Earth to have made a similar impact.
"It also may be that any such species that arose on Earth or Venus have left no trace that we can ever discover in situ."

The origins of Alien Day, which is recognized on April 26, go back to 2009 as a promotional event for 20th Century Fox. Alien Day might be as good a time as any to reflect on some of the "controversies" and "conspiracies" dealing with extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.
First off, does life exist outside of Earth? The probability is high, according to scientists. "You can't think we're alone once you study how common our ingredients of life are in the universe," said famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson on CBS's "Late Late Show" in September 2016. "The atoms of our body—hydrogen, oxygen, carbon—they are the three most common chemically active ingredients in the universe. We are not made of special stuff."
But whether they have visited humans on Earth is another matter. Regardless of the probability, there are a few stories dating back 60 years over unidentified flying objects sightings.
Roswell, New Mexico, 1947
One of the most publicized stories of a UFO sighting involves a rancher who said that he and his son found metal debris from a crash, prompting an investigation from the Roswell Army Air Field. Following an RAAF press release, the Roswell Daily Record newspaper put out a front-page article with the headline, "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region." Military officials later reported a link between the incident and a top-secret atomic espionage project called "Project Mogul."
McMinnville, Oregon, 1950
A farm couple photographed a "metallic disk-shaped object" in the sky. Life Magazine and newspapers printed the photographs, which are considered to be among the most famous claims of a UFO.
Broad Haven, Wales, 1977
Fourteen children playing soccer in the seaside resort of Broad Haven claimed to have seen a yellow cigar-shaped craft in a field near a school. Witnesses later claimed a weird silver creature clamber out of the UFO. The incident became known as "The Broad Haven Triangle."
In a published witness testimony on UFO sightings website MUFON, he said: "While I was talking I was near the leisure centre where my bus stops.
"When I looked randomly over in the direction of the river which is when i saw the three lights in a triangle pattern rotating on its axis and wobbling slightly.
"I knew instantly that this is not normal and, as I have been interested in the subject of UFOs since I was about 10, I told my mate I'd ring him back and started filming the lights with my phone.
"During the event I felt elation and joy. The only way I can describe it was the feeling MDNA or ectasy gives you. It felt exactly like a massive endorfin rush. I was bouncing around like an excited child.
"In total I talked to about 10 people who saw what I did, with one old gentleman who got on my bus who thought he'd just drunk to much.
"The morning after I looked more carefully at the photos I had taken, and in one there are shapes inside the lights with two out of the three most visible and identical to the other."
The bus driver's experience with a supposed UFO certainly isn't the first for the seaside town, which has become a hotbed of sightings.
Tyron Osbourne, 52, was shocked by a soaring oval in December last year, and managed to take photographs over his Brixington home.
The object appeared at around 1pm and remained in the sky until around 4.30pm. Those who saw it claim the object, and even its trail, then completely vanished.
Tyron explains: "It looked like a star close to the horizon, and by the time I set up my tripod I could see it was an object. Even the trail behind it did not seem normal.
"If you look closely you can see what appears to be windows.
"I have never seen anything like this. As for believing in aliens, I've always thought we are not alone in the universe and hoped to see something that would make me believe they would visit us.
"I didn't expect it to actually happen."
The object traveled eastward from Dawlish, leaving Tyron to speculate it may have crossed the Atlantic from the U.S.A.
Tyron added: "These pictures can, and do, tell a million stories."
A resident said he was having a cigarette in his garden when he saw the two triangles followed by what he believed to be a helicopter.
Another resident who wishes to remain anonymous said: "I believe I have seen the same thing. On hearing the sound of a helicopter I looked out to see if it was another police chopper.
"I am a serving soldier and I can say I've never seen anything move in the way these objects were."

Le manque d’informations entourant une série de lumières apparues dans les États de Californie, du Nevada et de l’Arizona, avait déclenché un nombre important d’appels aux autorités. L’activité sur les réseaux sociaux s’est envolée à mesure que des témoins publiaient des photos et des vidéos du ciel illuminé. Beaucoup de personnes pensaient – ou espéraient – y voir un OVNI ou objet volant non identifié.
1. Test de missile effectué par la marine américaine
En réalité, c’était la marine américaine qui avait tiré un missile Trident non-armé à partir du sous-marin USS Kentucky. Le sous-marin équipé de missiles balistiques voguait au large des côtes du sud de la Californie. Le commandant Ryan Perry a déclaré que de tels lancements étaient effectués sur une base régulière afin de garantir la fiabilité permanente du système et que les informations afférentes étaient classées avant les lancements.

Le lancement avait été mené dans la zone de test du Pacific, une vaste région au nord-ouest de Los Angeles, où la marine teste périodiquement les missiles de croisière Standards et les missiles Tomahawk. Ceux-ci sont tirés à partir de navires de surface et des sous-marins.

5. Des lumières aériennes aux États-Unis
Le bureau de NBC News à San Diego (États-Unis) avait reçu plusieurs appels téléphoniques le 28 avril 2015. Ces appelants voulaient obtenir des informations sur un regroupement inhabituel et coloré de lumières dans le ciel, au dessus de San Ysidro, près de la frontière mexicaine.
« Certaines personnes ont signalé des lumières rouges, bleues et vertes, clignotantes et changeant de couleur. Pour d’autres, les lumières étaient statiques, comme celles d’un avion ou d’un drone », selon les documents de NBC 7 San Diego. « Nous avons contacté l’armée locale, pour identifier des objets. Nous n’avons jusqu’ici reçu aucune réponse».
Lorsque des chercheurs en OVNIS et The Huffington Post ont appelé la station pour avoir plus d’informations, tout d’un coup c’était motus et bouche cousue.
Alejandro Rojas, journaliste d’investigation pour OpenMinds.tv pense avoir une explication : « Les lumières brillantes peuvent parfois se refléter dans les lentilles des caméras. En particulier, une lumière émise au sommet d’une tour peut par exemple être perçue au sol comme clignotante. Une des lumières rouges vue dans le ciel clignotait de la sorte. Cependant, les deux lumières ne clignotent pas de manière synchronisées ».
6. Les nuages iridescents du Costa Rica
Au Costa Rica, des résidents stupéfaits et fascinés, ont pu admirer dans leur ciel, un nuage irisé à taches multiples. En septembre 2015, le spectacle avait été signalé dans de nombreuses villes, dont San Jose, Parrita, Pavas, Escazu et Hatillo. Les experts expliquent cette étonnante vision par un phénomène météorologique rare, appelé iridescence du nuage, qui se produit lorsque la lumière du soleil diffracte dans les gouttelettes d’eau dans la haute atmosphère.
7. Les lumières de Hessdalen en Norvège
Les lumières de Hessdalen sont régulièrement observées au-dessus de la vallée de Hessdalen dans la municipalité de Holtålen dans le comté de Sør-Trøndelag, en Norvège. Contrairement à d’autres « lumières fantômes », elles ne peuvent se réduire à l’explication de phares ou d’avions de passage. Ces lumières adoptent différentes formes, dont certaines ressemblent à des hélices. Elles prennent parfois la forme de boules grossières, qui crachent des boules plus petites, qui s’agrandissent dans le ciel.
8. La spirale céleste en Norvège
En 2009, en Norvège de nombreuses personnes étaient en panique à cause de l’étrange observation ci-dessus. Cette inquiétante spirale géante a été observée, photographiée et enregistrée sur vidéo partout dans le pays. Ne serait-ce pas une porte vers un univers parallèle ?
Pas vraiment. C’était une fusée, qui suite à un manque de carburant, était devenu incontrôlable et tournoyaient dans le ciel. Le ministère russe de la Défense avait confirmé avoir lancé un missile Bulava, mais que le troisième étage du missile a eu un raté. La buse du troisième étage, qui dirige la structure d’échappement des gaz de la fusée, s’est peut être détachée ou a été percé, provoquant l’échappement sur le côté au lieu de l’arrière.
9. Les pluies de météorites Taurides au Canada
En novembre 2015, tous les habitant de Saskatchewan ont été surpris par une étrange boule de feu qui a traversé le ciel, accompagnée de gros boums.
C’était une météorite Tauride qui a tout illuminé et était visible de Saskatoon au Weyburn. Pour Martin Beech, astronome au Collège Campion de l’Université de Regina, il y a de forte chance que des fragments ou des matériaux de la météorite soient arrivés au sol, mais il est difficile d’en préciser la quantité. Le fait que des gens aient entendu des booms dans la région de Kelvington pourrait indiquer que des fragments aient atterri dans les alentours. « Tous ces éléments indiquent que des matériaux ont atteint la plus basse atmosphère », a confirmé Beech. « L’essentiel des matériaux s’est certainement consumé dans la haute atmosphère, d’où la trainée et le flash, aperçues par la population ».

ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet captured a series of strange moving objects above Earth while orbiting our planet above California aboard the International Space Station on April 17, 2017. The giveaway is the fact that the lights are not tumbling, which indicates they are actively controlled.

Did Pesquet just film UFOs flying over our planet?
The video filmed by Pesquet was initially intended to record an electric storm near the horizon, just above the western US.
At 25 frames per second of video, the flashes in the atmosphere produced by the rays are perfectly appreciable from the orbital complex. The view is beyond fascinating.
However, moments later the video records the dizzying presence of two objects moving at high speed above the Earth. The ESA Space Debris Bureau later confirmed that “they are consistent with intact objects, and were most likely satellites in operation.”
However, scientists were unable to confirm which satellites—if they were satellite at all—were captured in the video.
As noted by spcae.com, “ESA’s Space Debris Office determined that the objects are most likely not space junk, because “the objects’ brightness in the video is consistent with intact objects,” officials said. And they’re probably not meteors, either, said Detlef Koschny, a scientist in ESA’s Space Situational Awareness Program office who studies near-Earth objects.”
“The giveaway is the fact that the lights are not tumbling, which indicates they are actively controlled,”ESA communications officer Daniel Scuka said space.com in an email.
Furthermore, experts revealed that the objects were most likely not meteors. Koschny further explained that a bright meteor, traveling in the atmosphere usually lasts a second or less. Larger objects may remain visible for 2 to 3 seconds.
However, the video filmed by Pesquet was captured at 25 frames per second, meaning the objects are bright for several tens of seconds.

In June 2013 five friends decided to go out into Arizona and take some footage of space when they attached their GoPro recorder to a weather balloon and sent it up into the sky. This was the last they saw of it for two years and when it returned it was worth the wait as it gave them some amazing shots of Earth it had taken from space.
STUDENTS GOT FAA APPROVAL TO LAUNCH NEAR TO TUBA CITY
College students and friends Bryan Chan, Ashish Goel, Ved Chirayath, Paul Tarantino and Tyler Reid decided to build a device and calculated the trajectory of it then registered it with the FAA so that it wouldn’t interfere with any aircraft that might be passing. The balloon carried a GoPro Hero3, Sony camcorder and Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone, with the two camera recording footage and the smartphone taking the photos. They finally decided to launch the balloon out in the desert just a few miles from Tuba City.
The group wanted to track the progress of their balloon via GPS that was on a smartphone; however, they lost contact with the location once the device and balloon went out of range of the cell phone tower. This left them wondering for many months, if they would ever see the balloon ever again or if they would get their cameras back from the balloon.
HIKER FOUND BALLOON AND EQUIPMENT TWO YEARS LATER
The group waited and waited and then gave up on the idea of ever seeing it again. However, two years later they did get to see the results from their project when they received a call from a hiker. The hiker had been out in Arizona and had come across a box with the names of the group on it, around 50 miles from where they originally launched the balloon.
The team had hoped that the balloon would have captured what they thought would be the money shot, the Grand Canyon photographed from the stratosphere. They processed the data taken from the device that had been attached to the balloon and found out that it had reached 98, 664 feet and had a flight time of 1 hour and 38 minutes in total.
The footage they managed to get from the camera was more than they had hoped to get and they managed to retrieve all of the original images and made a 4-minute video that offers a look behind the scenes of their incredible story.

Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter, has long been considered to be the best candidate for life outside Earth within this solar system. Europa is believed to have a deep, underground ocean which contains more water than all of the oceans on Earth combined which make it a prime spot for investigation.
However, visiting this icy moon in order to extract samples and learn more about its atmospheric composition has proved to be a daunting task. It is so daunting, in fact, that NASA has decided that it is one that they simply cannot undertake alone.
NASA ASKS ESA TO HELP THEM EXPLORE EUROPA
In order to ensure that Europa doesn’t remain virgin territory for space exploration in the near future, NASA has made overtures to the ESA for the two agencies to collaborate in a joint expedition to the moon. In the proposal, referred to as the Joint Europa Mission (JEM) was unveiled this Sunday in the Austrian capital city of Vienna at the annual meeting of the European Geosciences Union.
Representatives from NASA proposed that the two agencies combine resources and technology in order to make the mission together and the proposal was met with some enthusiasm. “The whole idea is that if we think exploring Europa for life is important, it should be an international venture.”
The plan put forward by NASA is that JEM would launch in the mid-2020s and would run for approximately six and a half years. When the lander reaches the surface of Europa it will explore for a little over a month, primarily scanning materials for any traces of life. Simultaneously, an orbiter craft would spend three months taking measurements of the moon in order to provide information about Europa’s structure with particular emphasis on the composition of the underground ocean.
At this current time, there are clear signs that representatives from both of the space agencies are very keen to go ahead with this exciting joint venture. There have even been suggestions that if the mission is a success that there could be follow-up collaborative efforts to explore the other moons of Jupiter and neighboring gas giant Saturn which is considered to be good candidates for life. However, nothing can go ahead on this project until it is given the full approval of President Donald Trump who has ultimate oversight over the activities of the American space agency.

Representatives from NASA proposed that the two agencies combine resources and technology in order to make the mission together and the proposal was met with some enthusiasm. “The whole idea is that if we think exploring Europa for life is important, it should be an international venture.”
The plan put forward by NASA is that JEM would launch in the mid-2020s and would run for approximately six and a half years. When the lander reaches the surface of Europa it will explore for a little over a month, primarily scanning materials for any traces of life. Simultaneously, an orbiter craft would spend three months taking measurements of the moon in order to provide information about Europa’s structure with particular emphasis on the composition of the underground ocean.

Mars has given us a lot to think about over the last two years that its hard to put all of this together.

According to scientists, the slow destruction of the atmosphere of the planet in our neighbor has been caused by "enormous rope-like tendrils of magnetic rotation. The Red Planet once the hospital atmosphere has been dazzled in a distant past. This means that when Mars was much younger, it was much more hot and humid, which means that it has been a very good candidate for the life to develop. Scientists believe that oceans of Mars have evaporated due to the thinning of the planet atmosphere that fact flees in space.
Although Mars has no evidence of a global magnetic field, the observations show that parts of the crust of the planet have been magnetized, suggesting that the alternation of the polarity of son dipole field have taken place in the past.
However, there are more things on Mars which have caused confusion among the experts. The exploration of Mars rovers of NASA has noticed the quantity of readings of methane at the surface of the Red Planet. On Earth, 90 per cent of the whole of the methane in the atmosphere is produced by living organisms. Traces of methane captured the Curiosity on the red planet, and the scientists believe that this could point to the existence of life on the red planet, at this precise moment, although there are other possible explanations.
But while Mars may not have life on its surface, many scientists claim that in the distant past, the Red Planet has perhaps taken in charge of the life and not only primitive life, but of complex life forms developed countries who have perhaps even the structures built on its surface.
One of these researchers is Dr. John A plasma physicist who has obtained his diploma at the University of California at Davis and which apparently has had a brilliant career as a scientist submits that the Martian life has been deliberately destroyed with nukes.
In a scientific article, Dr. Brandenburg says: That Mars present, "… based on new data, the evidence that during this period of Earthlike climate, biological evolution product, to length, a humanoid civilization leaving ruins at several sites, Cydonia Mensa and Galaxias Chaos being two sites more intensively studied. The data from these sites has formed the basis of the hypothesis Cydonia (Brandenburg, DiPietro and Molenaar, 1991) of a former, indigenous populations, about the civilization of the Bronze Age on March."
And, curiously, each day of new images of Mars prove that there is something strange on its surface. Over the past two years, countless images of Mars were analyzed by foreign hunters across the world. Some of them --show awkwardly which seems to be artificially structured on the surface of the Red Planet.

The mysterious X-37B is a reusable unmanned spacecraft. It is considered as one of the most mysterious and advanced spacecraft ever operated by the United States Military. Experts argue that the X-37B could be used as a spy satellite or to deliver weapons from space, others believe it is part of a secretive space program operated by a shadow government.
One of the most mysterious—known—spacecraft to ever be flown into space is without a doubt the Air Force X-37B spacecraft which reached a staggering 700 days in space.
No one knows what its true purpose is and what exactly its doing while it orbits Earth. However, numerous ufologists and conspiracy theorists argue that the X-37b is just one of the many secret spacecraft that belong to a ‘secret space fleet’ operated by the governemnt. It’s the tip of the iceberg some have said.
If it is indeed SECRET, it’s not the best-kept secret since there is some information about it. The X-37b is also known as the Orbital Test Vehicle 4. It carries a mysterious payload that is its biggest secret.

The secret space plane is known to have used the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California for landing. According to space.com, recent plans to consolidate launch and landing activities could mean vehicles touch down at the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
However, where exactly and when the mystery spacecraft will return to Earth is a mystery just as its true mission.
According to Captain Annmarie Annicelli, an Air Force Spokeswoman: “The landing date will be determined based on the completion of the program’s on-orbit demonstrations and objectives for this mission. While the program has the capability to land at either KSC or Vandenberg, the landing location is determined by a variety of factors,” reports space.com.
The enigmatic space vehicle was built and designed by the Air Force and was launched into space atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket on May 20, 2015.

The enigmatic spacecraft is designed to orbit our planet—following a specific mission—and is built to land like one of NASA’s now-retired shuttles.
The Spacecraft was put together by Boeing. The X-37b orbits our planet in low-earth orbit, between 110 (177km) and 500 miles (800km) above Earth. The ISS—by comparison—circles our plant at around 220 miles (350km) above Earth. The X-37b has an orbital speed of 28,044 km/h (17,426 mph).
Furthermore, while no one really knows what the contents of the X-37b’s payload are, NASA has revealed it features a materials experiment aboard, while the Planetary Society is tagging along with a solar-sail demo.
The solar sail demo—called LightSail—uses a propulsion system that acquires photons from the sun, commonly referred to as Solar Sailing. They might not be as far-fetched as you think, according to UFO expert Nick Pope. The former British Ministry of Defence employee, dubbed “the real Fox Mulder,” worked in the government’s UFO program from 1991 to 1994, investigating UFO sightings and other unexplained phenomena. Now the author, TV personality and sci-fi media consultant wades deep in the world of the unexplained, and will present at the fifth Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) Erie Conference on Saturday at the Bayfront Convention Center.
But conferences like the one in Erie aren’t just for those who believe in the extraterrestrial.
“This should not be something just for the believers,” said Pope, 51, who left the MOD in 2006 and has lived in the United States for the past five years. “I would love to see skeptics there, too, and people who are agnostic about it. I hope people will come, wherever they are on the belief spectrum.”
He recently answered a few questions about his former post at the Ministry of Defence, “The X-Files” and his upcoming presentation at Saturday’s conference.
What put you on the path to investigating UFO sightings and other claims for the Ministry of Defence?
“I was a civilian employee of the Ministry of Defence, but like military and a number of these government organizations, you get moved around every few years — either on level transfer or promotion. And I was lucky enough for three years in that wider 21-year career to be assigned to their UFO project. I didn’t have a prior interest in the subject. I had no belief in it. It was simply ‘this is the next posting that we’d like to put you in.’ So it came up really from the personnel department and I embarked on this remarkable journey.”
Did that help you to be objective or skeptical about claims you were investigating?
“I don’t think you want a true believer in that job. I’m not sure you would want a die-hard debunker, either. These investigative jobs are best if you go in with a neutral, dispassionate view and you simply go the way the data take you. We got about 200 or 300 cases each year, and I went into each one with an open mind and just thought ‘I will do my best to investigate this and see what I can turn up.’ I did not regard it — and it was not ever my mission — to prove any of these things were extraterrestrial spacecraft. Neither, contrary to what conspiracy theorists say, was it my job to really debunk them, either. I just had to say ‘Look, we’ve had a report of something in our airspace. Obviously the air force and government want to know what this is. Let’s see if we can’t find out.’”
Were you mostly investigating UFO sightings, or were you also involved with cases of other unexplained phenomena?
“Most of the job involved UFO sightings, but it was impossible to do that job without finding yourself the kind of clearinghouse, as it were, out of the ordinary. We were the part of government that got reports, not just of UFOs, but through that, alien abductions, crop circles, people who thought they had seen ghosts on military bases. We were kind of dubbed by the media as ‘the real, live “X-Files” unit.’”
Are you a fan of “X-Files”?
“I am, actually, yes! It was — and still is, hopefully — a great, great series. Just beautifully written and acted. I was a fan before I was approached to get involved. I do consultancy and spokesperson work (for) a lot of alien-themed movies, TV shows and video games, and I was brought in on the second ‘X-Files’ movie and on the reboot of the TV series to do some interviews to say to the media and public ‘Is any of this real?’ And of course, the answer is yes, actually they do.”
What will your Saturday lecture, “Secrecy vs. Disclosure,” entail?
“The UFO community are, I think, always talking about disclosure with a big ‘D.’ They have this image that it’s going to be some big, formal announcement where the president speaks live to the nation and says ‘We’re not alone.’ It may not be quite as simple as that. And actually one of the great secrets, I think, is that government doesn’t really know, either, in relation to UFOs. Certainly we in the UK never had any spaceships hidden away in air force hangars, any of that sort of thing — although we were always accused of having that evidence and keeping it back. Hand-on-heart, we didn’t. But my point is more generally, if there was this great secret, could that secret even be kept these days? As much as people believe in Big Brother and the secret state, I’m going to argue that perhaps the balance of power is shifting more toward the individual, therefore more toward a situation where states find it more difficult to keep secrets. There’s espionage, which we’ve always had, but whistle-blower culture seems to be expanding.
“I’m going to talk about how difficult it would be to keep a secret, but then the other thing is, I’m going to be speculative, and I’m going to say if this is true, if government does act as guardian of this great secret, why wouldn’t it be told? What might be the advantages of disclosing this information, but what might be the disadvantages? We’re going to look at all the cliches — would there be panic in the streets, would it undermine the international financial system and political institutions? It will be themed on UFOs, but I think that the points I’m making could be made right across the board.”
Are people receptive to that perspective?
“Yes and no. I think I do get a lot of positive feedback, but there’s no getting away from the fact that, to some of these people, I’m probably the bad guy. The fact that I did this for the government means that there are people who think I was part of a conspiracy, that I was part of the cover-up. There are people who believe I’m still secretly on the payroll, that it’s my job to put out disinformation, to infiltrate the UFO community and see what they know, etc., etc. When I expose my skepticism about conspiracy theories, it doesn’t go down well in all quarters. But you know, I’m not a believer that you should just turn up at these conferences and tell people what you think they want to hear. I think a conference is far better if there are a range of views, if things do get a little interesting and spiky, and if we do knock a few ideas back and forward.”

This was stated by the spokesman of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration during one of the last hearings of the Committee for Science, Space and Technology of the United States.

There are many who claim that unofficially, mankind has already made contact with aliens, and not just little microorganism floating around inside a massive alien ocean, but advanced spacefaring civilizations.
Twenty-five years ago, we didn’t know that planets existed beyond our solar system. Today, we have confirmed the existence of over 3,400 exoplanets that orbit other suns. And we continue to make new discoveries.
Professor Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA headquarters in Washington, said our civilization is on the verge of discovering evidence of alien life in the cosmos.

Taking in count all of the different activities and mission that are specifically searching for evidence of alien life, we are on the verge of making one of the most profound, unprecedented discoveries in history, said Zurbuchen during the hearing of the Committee on American Science, Space and Technology.
At the hearing, professor Zurbuchen mentioned all of NASA’s recent achievements in their quest for extraterrestrial life that support his claim.
“Two weeks ago NASA’s Cassini mission demonstrated the presence of hydrogen in Saturn’s moon Enceladus, while the Hubble team announced the results of the second observation of the oceans of Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter. Both discoveries are potential evidence of life, “said the NASA spokesman, who also highlighted the advances made in astrobiology.
“And while we have not yet found definitive signs of life elsewhere, our search is making remarkable progress,” said Zurbuchen, who noted that NASA’s number of astrobiology missions is on the rise.
“Mars 2020, our next explorer, and will continue to advance this quest by researching a region on Mars where the ancient environment may have been favorable for microbial life. The mission will also look for signs of past life and collect samples that will be brought back to Earth, “said professor Zurbuchen.
Zurbuchen also pointed out that to prove the existence of extraterrestrial life requires the cooperation of several scientific disciplines as a whole, such as biology, geology, astronomy, planetary sciences, Earth sciences and many others.
The NASA Transition Authorization Act of 2017, which President Trump signed into law last month, ensures continued American leadership in astrobiology and the search for life.
It establishes “the search for life’s origin, evolution, distribution, and future in the universe” as a fundamental objective for NASA. To accomplish this, the bill directs NASA and the National Academies to develop an exoplanet exploration strategy and an astrobiology strategy.
While all of this is great news for space explorations and our hopes—officially—to find alien life, there have been some seriously interesting quotes made in the past related to alien life.
One of our favorite quotes comes from Dr. Brian O’Leary, a former NASA Astronaut, and Princeton Physics Professor:
“There is abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been monitoring us for a very long time. That their appearance is bizarre from any type of traditional materialistic western point of view. That these visitors use the technologies of consciousness, they use toroids, they use co-rotating magnetic disks for their propulsion systems, which seems to be a common denominator of the UFO phenomenon.”

"Cassini staat weer in contact met de aarde en stuurt data terug na een succesvolle duik door het gat tussen Saturnus en diens ringen."
De ruimtesonde zal nog 21 keer door het nog niet onderzochte gebied vliegen. Bij de start van het manoeuvre gisteren was het contact met de aarde zoals verwacht verbroken. Volgens de NASA heeft de sonde het bovenste wolkendek van Saturnus op 3.000 kilometer genaderd. De afstand tot de binnenste ring bedroeg 300 km.
NASA noemde de missie de "grote finale". Cassini is in 1997 gelanceerd. De sonde kwam in 2004 in een baan om de planeet. Uiteindelijk zal de sonde gecontroleerd neerstorten op 17 september.
