VIDEO SHOWS HORROR VISION OF OUR FUTURE DOMINATED BY AN AI MILITARY ARMY
VIDEO SHOWS HORROR VISION OF OUR FUTURE DOMINATED BY AN AI MILITARY ARMY
A video has been released for the Lukas Haas and Michelle Rodriguez movie with the name of 2031. The Movie takes on a militant robot uprising. But as automation technology and AI advance, could this be the harrowing future that Earth is heading towards?
WILL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT ROBOTS TAKE OVER THE WORLD BY 2031?
This is the age of automation and artificial intelligence and robots have been known to take over the jobs of people and leave them redundant. By 2030 it has been suggested that millions of jobs may be automated, leaving people out of work, but 2031 The Movie highlights other fears, the existence of humans.
The trailers opening scenes reveal that 1 in 50 soldiers in Afghanistan are automated in 2031 and this gives hints about the prevalence of artificial intelligence in society and more to the point, the warfaring capabilities of robots with artificial intelligence.
A FUTURE THAT IS HARROWING MAY BECOME REALITY
In the short film Lukas Haas and Michelle Rodriguez, perhaps better known for her role in the Fast and Furious movie, get together to help to put an end to the eradication of humanity, Rodriguez plays an ex-solider, while Haas plays an engineer. The pair has to work side by side to make use of the information they have to ensure that the world is not taken over by robots.
The video does paint a picture of a future of Earth where artificial intelligence in robots are not just replacing jobs of checkout clerks, lawyers, and business professionals, in the future they are an oppressive mechanical force that is superior to human beings that makes organic humans obsolete. It is a harrowing vision of what Earth might look like in 2031 as technology, and in particular, artificial intelligence is fast improving and getting better.
2031 The Movie shows robots, very similar to those envisioned in The Terminator movies, walking around the streets with guns tackling crime. They are positioned on street corners and walking among the general public when the robots begin behaving strangely, shooting down a helicopter. Once again Rodriguez takes on a tough girl image, being an ex-solider, to take on the artificially intelligent robots, which come in all shapes and sizes, from totally eradicating human beings on planet Earth. It is food for thought, is this how the world will end when humans have designed the technology to give life to the robots, will they wipe out their creators and take over?

ACTA ASTRONAUTICA: 'WE ARE NOT READY FOR CONTACT WITH EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE'
ACTA ASTRONAUTICA: 'WE ARE NOT READY FOR CONTACT WITH EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE'
Are humans ready to make contact with alien intelligence?
Project scientists at SETI are known for tracking what may be extra-terrestrial signals, but now it looks as though they are thinking about sending messages to aliens and giving them the position of humans of Earth. But are humans ready for making contact with aliens?
RESEARCHER ASKS STUDENTS WHETHER THEY ARE READY TO GREET ALIEN LIFEFORMS
One researcher from the Spain’s University of Cadiz has questioned the idea after gathering results from a survey taken by students at the University, which revealed ignorance in general about the cosmos along with the influence of religion when it comes to dealing with these matters.
The SETI project, Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence was an initiative that started out in the 70s after funding was given from NASA. Today it has evolved to the collaboration of many millions of users on the internet for processing data from the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, home to the space tracking.
STEPHEN HAWKING WARNS OF RISKS OF SENDING OUT EARTH INVITATION TO ALIENS
The project is controversial. However, members want to go a step further and not only search for possible signs of extra-terrestrial life but send messages out from Earth to try to find possible alien civilizations. Stephen Hawking, astrophysicists, has warned about the risks of making such a search poses for humanity, as it may favor any arrival of aliens with technology that is advanced and dubious intentions.
Gabriel G. De la Torre, a professor at the University of Cadiz, has analyzed the sociological and ethical implications of the proposal to send out a signal telling alien lifeforms where Earth and humans are located. He asked if a decision such as this could be taken on behalf of the planet. He went on to ask what might happen if it was a success and alien life did receive the signal, would the people on Earth be ready for contact.
STUDY REVEALED HUMANS ARE NOT READY FOR CONTACT WITH ALIENS
The professor wrote and sent out a questionnaire to 116 university students of American, Spanish and Italian origin. The survey looked into their knowledge of astronomy along with levels of perception of the physical environment, the opinions of the place that things occupy in the cosmos along with religious questions. One question posed asked whether the students believed that God had in fact created the universe and the likelihood that humans could contract alien lifeforms.
The results, published in the journal ‘Acta Astronautica’, from the study suggested that humans are not ready to contact an extra-terrestrial civilization as they lack knowledge along with being unprepared. Due to this SETI researchers have been recommended to look for different strategies.
“This pilot study demonstrates that the knowledge of the general public of a certain education level about the cosmos and our place within it is still poor. Therefore, a cosmic awareness must be further promoted – where our mind is increasingly conscious of the global reality that surrounds us – using the best tool available to us: education,” De la Torre emphasised. ”In this respect, we need a new Galileo to lead this journey”.
It was said that the pilot study had shown that the general public’s knowledge of a certain education level when it came to the cosmos and the place of humans within it, was poor. Cosmic awareness needs to be promoted further where the human mind is conscious of the global reality that is surrounding us, using the best tool that is available, which is education De la Torre said.
It was found from the questions asked, which are going to be made available for everyone on the internet, that university students along with the rest of society, on the whole, lacks awareness about astronomical aspects, despite the progress of technology and science of today. It was said that many people think about the subjects based on religious beliefs and they may reply on politicians if there was a big crisis on a global scale that needed resolving.
So it does look like the people on Earth are not ready to welcome alien civilizations with open arms, even if SETI were to find them.

NASA May Have Found Alien Life in Our Own Solar System
NASA May Have Found Alien Life in Our Own Solar System
NASA recently announced there could be alien life in our own solar system. Their space craft Cassini recently gathered data on Enceladus, one of Saturn’s 62 moons, and was able to confirm that its icy oceans contain all the necessary ingredients that allow the formation of life.

Take a look at pictures from some of India’s most iconic UFO sightings
Over the Taj Mahal, along a coastal road, in Ladakh - India has a dramatic and much-debated history of Unidentified Flying Objects.
UFO sightings in India are more sporadic than in the US, but we still have iconic images such as this one taken near the Taj Mahal in Agra. “We don’t know who clicked the Taj Mahal photo, but it’s become famous in Indian UFOlogy circles,” says Hitesh Yadav, 21, a BTech student from Gurgaon, an active UFO investigator and editor of UFO Magazine India.
Over the Taj Mahal, along a coastal road, in Ladakh - India has a dramatic and much-debated history of Unidentified Flying Objects. Here’re some eerie examples:
The unidentified object spotted in Banswara, Rajasthan, in 2008. Eight locals reported seeing an unfamiliar craft in the afternoon sky. They described the UFO as a hat-shaped object with a bright underlight.
A photograph taken in Kannur, Kerala, by Divya Sebastian and army officer Major Sebastian Zachariah, while on vacation.
In 1964, Billy Meier – one of the world’s most infamous UFO researchers – travelled to India and shot a series of photographs that allegedly show UFOs over Delhi’s skies. Above are three of them.
Technology is now aiding the search for answers. Some ufologists are using satellite imagery, apps and online tools to zero in on odd phenomena, such as these ‘urban crop circles’ in Tirrupur, Tamil Nadu.

25 Space Conspiracies That Just Won't Die - PART I
25 Space Conspiracies That Just Won't Die - PART I

INTRO: Space Conspiracies
On the internet, you need to be a skeptical reader these days. Claims of aliens and UFOs, Mars being abnormally big, or the moon turning green are the kinds of things you should check out carefully. Here are some of the biggest space myths that just won't go away.
Credit: NASA
1. The Apollo moon landings were faked.
Twelve NASA astronauts walked on the moon between 1969 and 1972, and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has since released new photos of the landing sites. In the decades since Apollo 11 astronauts first set foot on the moon, many theories have been put forward claiming that the whole Apollo program was staged. Why are there no stars in the sky in the moonwalkers' photos? Why are the U.S. flags fluttering on the surface? Why do you see footprints in the pictures, but no marks from the lunar modules that landed there?
The answers to those questions are simpler than you may think. There are no stars in the sky for the same reason you don't see stars during the day on Earth: The bright glow of daylight on the surface washes them out. U.S. flags planted into the lunar soil had metal rods sewn in them to appear as though they were moving. Without these wires, the flag would have hung straight down, making for a pretty lackluster photo prop. And the lunar modules, though heavier, didn't put prominent marks in the surface in some places because their mass was more evenly distributed than the astronauts' weight was in their boots. 2. NASA is a lie.
Some folks actually believe NASA's whole function is not to explore space, but to generate space-related hoaxes. (The Apollo moon landing is a famous example that we'll explore in the next slide.) People who believe this conspiracy, sometimes flagged with the hashtag "#NASAhoax" on social media, will say that amazing space pictures of Mars, Pluto and even Earth are fake, computer-generated imagery (CGI). [Video: NASA Employees 'Welcome' You to the Space Agency]
In reality, NASA was formed in 1958 "to provide for research into problems of flight within and outside the Earth's atmosphere, and for other purposes," according to the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958, which then-president Dwight D. Eisenhower signed into law shortly after the start of the space race against the Soviet Union. Since then, NASA has launched hundreds of satellites into orbit around Earth, the moon and several other worlds. In fact, NASA spacecraft have orbited, flown by or landed on every planet in the solar system. NASA also sends astronauts into orbit, where they conduct research at the International Space Station (ISS).
Not convinced? Try watching a rocket launch for yourself, or see the space station and other satellites with your own eyes with the help of a satellite tracker.

3. The Earth is flat.
This myth is so popular that there is even a group named after it: the Flat Earth Society. Members of the organization argue that the horizon is always at eye level, which they say would not be possible if the Earth were round. They also say there is no full movie of the Earth rotating from space — which is not true, as NASA has published multiple videos taken from satellites, including a live video of Earth from the ISS, which orbits our planet 16 times per day.
One way of demonstrating to yourself that the Earth is round is to consider how orbits of satellites work. Satellites constantly "fall" around the Earth as they are pulled around by our planet's gravity; they just need to be traveling fast enough at a high enough altitude to not slam into the atmosphere. Or, you can look at the amazing pictures taken by astronauts at the ISS.
In April 2016, the New York Post tweeted, "A newly discovered planet could destroy Earth as soon as this month." The newspaper was referring to Planet Nine, a theoretical planet at the edge of the solar system. An accompanying video also claimed that the new planet would be throwing all sorts of asteroids and comets at Earth, which would supposedly end up pummeling our planet.
Although the planet's existence has not been confirmed, astronomers are actively looking for it to explain motions of some objects in the icy Kuiper Belt, a vast region of icy objects beyond Neptune. If the planet is actually found, the California Institute of Technology's Mike Brown (who is one of the original backers of the Planet Nine theory) says the planet will pose no threat to us.
The 1996 movie "Independence Day" is one of the sources of the Area 51 hoax, which claims that aliens and their technology — recovered from crashed flying saucers — are being studied secretly at a classified military base about 80 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of Las Vegas in the Nevada desert. Some people in the area around the base claim that they have seen strange flights out of this area.
While Area 51's true focus is classified, the U.S. government has acknowledged its existence (although the CIA officially calls it "Homey Airport" or "Groom Lake"). A part of Edwards Air Force Base, the area was a known location for high-technology airplane flights in the 1960s and 1970s. It first served as a proving ground for Lockheed U-2 and A-12 OXCART spy planes as early as 1955. UFO sightings reported in the area were indeed unidentified objects, but only because the planes were top-secret — not because they were flown by aliens.

6. There is a killer planet known as "Nibiru."
Conspiracy theorists say another dangerous planet is Nibiru, which was first mentioned in the 1976 book "The Twelfth Planet," by Zecharia Sitchin. In the book, Sitchin translated ancient Sumerian cuneiform and claimed that the text is proof of a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru that orbits the sun every 3,600 years.
Years later, self-proclaimed psychic Nancy Lieder claimed to have communicated with extraterrestrials who said Nibiru would collide with Earth in 2003. When that didn't happen, the date was moved to 2012 (and linked, of course, with the 2012 doomsday predictions). Of course, the collision never occurred, the world didn't end in 2012 and no astronomer has ever found a planet on a collision course with Earth.

7. There is a face on Mars.
In 1976, NASA's Viking 1 spacecraft took a picture of what appeared to be a face on Mars. Immediately, some people said there must have been aliens on the Red Planet that left that face behind as evidence of their existence. NASA, however, pointed out that the suspected face is really just a pile of rocks casting shadows that resemble face-like features.
NASA followed up with better-resolution pictures taken from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and the Mars Global Surveyor in 1998 and 2001, respectively. These new images made it quite clear that the "face on Mars" is nothing more than a trick of light and shadows on a completely normal Martian mound.

8. The moon Iapetus is an alien Death Star.
Iapetus is a moon of Saturn that looks somewhat like the infamous Death Star in the "Star Wars" franchise, with a large crater that resembles the fictional weapon's superlaser focus lens. The Death Star is a planet-killing machine that destroys entire worlds with its outrageously powerful laser. It was prominently featured in the 2016 movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," as well as in 1977's "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope."
A Daily Mail article published in May 2016 claimed Iapetus is an artificial object crafted by aliens. As "evidence," the article cited a photo taken by NASA's Cassini spacecraft in 2004. In the photo, there's a line around the moon's equator that resembles the equatorial trench around the Death Star. But this line isn’t nearly as interesting as the Death Star's trench, which houses the battle station's engines, thrusters and docking bays. That line is nothing more than a mountain ridge, and Iapetus is actually just made up of boring old rock and ice. Cassini has flown by the moon to take pictures several times without being blasted by deadly alien lasers.

9. Saturn's hexagon is alien technology.
Saturn's hexagon was first spotted when NASA's Voyager spacecraft flew by the giant, ringed planet in 1980. The bizarre, six-sided structure on the round planet's north pole caused quite the stir, because straight lines and polygons are not so common in nature.
Immediately after the Voyager returned its first images of Saturn's strange feature, even stranger theories arose to explain it, including that it was somehow related to alien technology, or perhaps even was a gateway to hell. The hexagon is not artificial, but rather a weird-looking hurricane at Saturn's pole. NASA has done several flybys of this region with the Cassini spacecraft, studying the haze particles and other features of the storm, to try to learn more about its weird properties.

10. Mars is as big as the moon.
Originating in 2003, the infamous Mars hoax asserts that Mars was closer to Earth than it had been in the 60,000 years prior, and that the planet will appear as large as the full moon. What started out as a misconstrued email turned into a recurring rumor that gets reshared every August and, naturally, has spread to social media as it became more popular. [Quiz: Mars Myths and Misconceptions]
Although Mars is indeed relatively close to Earth in a cosmic sense, it will never be as large as the full moon. It will appear as a red dot in the sky, just as the ancient astronomers saw it. If you'd like to see Mars magnified, take out a telescope or look at one of NASA's spectacular Mars pictures.

11. The moon will turn green.
In spring 2016, there was a rumor that the moon would turn green because several planets had aligned and caused an eerie glow. This was supposed to happen on April 20 and again on May 29 for the first time since 1596, the rumor alleged.
The moon never actually turned green, although it can appear red during a lunar eclipse, when the moon passes through Earth's shadow. In the same way sunsets often appear red, sunlight is scattered as it passes through Earth's atmosphere, casting a reddish shadow on the moon's surface.
Skywatching columnist Joe Rao debunked this green-moon myth. He pointed out that a full moon actually took place on April 22, 2016, and speculated that the April 20 date of the "green moon" might have to do with "National Weed Day," popularly known as 4/20. Considering that the last green moon supposedly happened 420 years ago as well, this doesn't appear to be a coincidence.
As we all know, Earth did not actually experience that much darkness that year. (The article claimed that the alleged darkness was partly due to a Jupiter-Venus conjunction, which actually took place more than 500 million miles apart.) Darkness occurs when the Earth rotates, causing the sun to "set" on the local horizon. Brief periods of darkness can also happen when the sun is totally obscured during total solar eclipses, which occur rarely in any particular spot on Earth. But even during an eclipse, Earth is never completely in the dark.

13. Zero-gravity day will make you weightless.
If you ever wanted to leap into the sky and soar like Superman, this hoax is for you. In late 2014 and early 2015, a widely shared story claimed that on Jan. 4, 2015, everyone on Earth would experience weightlessness due to a rare alignment of the planets. A doctored image of a purported tweet from NASA's Twitter account that went around on social media fooled a lot of people into believing the hoax.
But, of course, nobody floated off the surface of Earth that day. Earth's gravity is too strong for people to become weightless. The only way to experience weightlessness without going to space is to ride aboard a plane that performs parabolas, with some including a few seconds of weightlessness. This is sometimes nicknamed the Vomit Comet.
14. Alien spacecraft caused a mysterious explosion.
Back in 2004, an expedition of Russian researchers working in Siberia claimed to have discovered "an extraterrestrial device" close to where the mysterious Tunguska explosion occurred. Scientists still aren't sure exactly what it was that blew up in the sky over Siberia that day in 1908, but the leading theory is that it was a large meteorite or an asteroid.
The Tunguska incident flattened hundreds of square miles of forest, and signs of the destruction were visible even decades afterward. At the time, news reports claimed that evidence of aliens was found at the site, but this claim was never substantiated. "The Russian team stupidly stated long before they went to Siberia that the main intention of their expedition was to find the remnants of an alien spaceship," Benny Peiser, a researcher at Liverpool John Moores University in the U.K., told Space.com. "And bingo! A week later, that's what they claim to have found."

15. UFO was caught "refueling" at the sun.
NASA has a fleet of sun-gazing spacecraft that keep an eye on space weather, especially during solar eruptions. In 2012, telescopic images appeared to show something in the shadows. On YouTube, some viewers said this could be a UFO that was refueling by using the solar plasma.
However, NASA pointed out that the feature is actually something called a "prominence," which has cooler and denser plasma than the outer atmosphere of the sun, or the corona. Scientists are still trying to figure out how solar prominences develop, but they're pretty sure it has nothing to do with aliens.

16. There is a ______ on Mars!
With NASA's Opportunity and Curiosity rovers regularly taking pictures of the Martian surface, viewers have the chance to check out what they're doing in almost real time. NASA puts the raw images online for the public to see. But over the years, some weird shapes have cropped up. In 2008, for example, the Opportunity rover appeared to photograph a female figure. Other photos have shown things shaped like animals, spoons or other items.
You can imagine that, with all of the rocks available on Mars, some of them would happen to look like familiar objects. In fact, the human brain tends to perceive meaningful images in random patterns — a phenomenon known as pareidolia.
When evaluating the claims, consider that the Martian environment is extremely harsh to life as we know it; the surface is baked with radiation, the "air" is mostly carbon dioxide and there's not much atmospheric pressure.

17. I just saw a bright UFO!
It's a familiar trope for police stations and astronomy writers. From time to time, somebody will call (or write) in to say they just saw a UFO in the sky. They spotted a bright light around sunset, or saw a light moving around in an unfamiliar way.
While every situation is different, one common explanation for "UFOs" is actually another extraterrestrial object: Venus. Venus can be extremely bright when it's at its closest, because it's relatively near Earth. The planet is also extremely reflective because the sun's light bounces off the clouds. So before calling to say you've spotted a UFO, check your sky charts! [7 Things Most Often Mistaken for UFOs]

18. NASA can travel faster than light.
If you've seen the "Star Trek" clips that show the Enterprise spaceship warping into another sector, you might have wondered how fast NASA is making progress on being able to move at the speed of light. The EmDrive has created years of speculation, with some breathlessly saying NASA must be on the verge of breaking the famed barrier.
In reality, NASA is downplaying the reports. The engine in question is a prototype that is producing some interesting results, such as appearing to create thrust when there was no reason for this to happen – and thereby violating Newton's Third Law of Motion. That said, NASA has not yet verified the results from these tests, and the engine has not been widely discussed in peer-reviewed research. [Superfast Spacecraft Propulsion Concepts (Images)]
With the advent of high-resolution, miniature cameras, several people have decided to strap these cameras on to high-altitude balloons and take pictures from up high. They've caught glimpses of blackness and, at times, taken interesting tiny passengers along (such as these Lego pieces and a Canadian flag in 2012). So they must be in space, right?
There's no way a balloon can get into space, and simple physics explains why. When a balloon rises into the sky, the air inside will expand in response to the dropping atmospheric pressure and eventually pop. Even Felix Baumgartner's stunning high-altitude balloon jump in 2012 was not actually from space, but from the stratosphere, which extends to roughly 31 miles (50 kilometers) above the Earth's surface. At that altitude the air is thin enough to see the blackness of space, but thick enough to support special high-altitude balloons. The boundary between Earth's atmosphere and outer space is about twice as high as the upper limits of the stratosphere. [World View's Near-Space Tourism Balloon Rides in Pictures]

20. There are canals on Mars.
Author Percival Lowell became one of space's first popularizers when he wrote many books for the general public back in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In these books and other writings, he said there were canals on Mars built by an intelligent civilization, perhaps to move water into desert-stricken areas. He claimed to have seen the canals in his own telescope, and produced several sketches that are still available on the internet today.
There are no artificial canals on Mars. Several spacecraft have flown by the planet or orbited it, and not one has caught signs of aliens from orbit. What they have seen, however, are smaller channels that were created by nature – likely from water, ice or other processes that cause erosion. [Photos: Water on Mars]

21. A star is flinging comets at Earth.
A long-standing theory known as Nemesis supposes that there is some sort of "death star" on the outer edge of the solar system, whose orbital motions perturb comets in an icy region of objects known as the Oort Cloud. According to the myth, the star's gravity throws these comets toward the inner solar system, and these comets collide with Earth and cause mass extinctions once every 27 million years.
However, 2011 study concluded that this idea is unlikely, because the comet strikes in recorded history haven't happened with any regularity. The pattern that was recorded in the hoax is actually a statistical artifact, or the result of researchers trying to find patterns in nature where they do not exist, the study's authors found.

22. There's life on Venus.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s, the Soviet Union sent several uncrewed missions to study Venus. Ten of these Venera probes landed on the surface of Venus and were able to transmit data and images for a few minutes before succumbing to the planet's extreme atmosphere. In 2012, the Russian news service RIA Novosti reported that Leonid Ksanfomaliti, a scientist who worked on the Venera missions, suggested that the photographs showed living objects moving around on the planet's surface. (RIA Novosti ceased operations in 2013.) [Photos of Venus, the Mysterious Planet Next Door]
These alleged life-forms on Venus are just an example of "letting your mind see patterns in low-resolution data that simply aren't real," Jonathon Hill, a research technician who processes images taken during NASA's Mars missions, explained to Space.com's sister site, LiveScience, in 2012. According to NASA, the objects that appeared to be moving were actually camera-lens covers that automatically popped off of the cameras after landing LiveScience reports. These half-circle objects were seen in images from Venera-13 and Venera-14, two identical spacecraft that landed about 590 miles (950 km) apart. Both had two identical cameras — one in the front and one in the back — so it makes sense that the covers would appear in different places. Another photograph that Ksanfomaliti said was a scorpion is actually a blur in the image.

23. An asteroid is about to crash into Earth.
This recurring rumor claims that a threatening "doomsday" asteroid is about to slam into our planet. An example from 2015 had an asteroid purported to hit Earth in late September, when it would supposedly wreak devastation from its impact point near Puerto Rico. NASA quickly dismissed the reports — which turned out, as usual, to be false. But that's not to say that asteroids will never hit our planet.
NASA and a network of monitoring telescopes across the world are cataloging all known asteroids wider than 459 feet (140 meters) across in line with a 2005 congressional mandate. (Smaller asteroids, if found, are also cataloged.) Of the space rocks discovered so far, NASA has not found a single asteroid that has a high probability of hitting Earth in the foreseeable future. 24. Aliens landed in Roswell, New Mexico
On a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico, so the story goes, an alien spacecraft crashed in 1947. While the accounts of exactly what happen vary, the legend claims that a disc or some sort of spacecraft was found on a ranch, and that the government quickly covered up the evidence.
While rumors of aliens circulated, some people speculated that the crash was just a plain old weather balloon that might not have been recognized by the local community. The U.S. military has since acknowledged the "spacecraft" was actually a weather balloon sent aloft as part of Project Mogul, which involved flying microphones on high-altitude balloons to listen for sound waves generated by possible Soviet Union nuclear tests.

25. Climate change isn't real.
Earth is on an abnormal warming trend. Arctic ice is melting, the sea level is rising and temperatures are going to extremes in many locations around the world. Why is this happening? Anti-climate-change conspirators have many explanations: solar activity, radiation, the Earth's (and sun's) movements around the Milky Way, among other theories.
While there are many components of climate change, the fact that humans have contributed to it is indisputable. Temperature graphs show that the climate has not warmed this much, this quickly in all of Earth's history (as seen in geological records), and that the increase correlates with increased industrialization. ALIEN ABDUCTION? THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF BRUNO BORGES
ALIEN ABDUCTION? THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF BRUNO BORGES
Bruno Borges, the son of the local contractor Athos Borges has recently disappeared from his family home in the province of the Brazilian Acres.
According to his parents, the young man has been remarkably intelligent and has always shown a keen interest in what some might call "forbidden knowledge."
Before his disappearance on 27 March, Bruno had retained its house locked during a month. During this period he covered many pages to write cryptic and then covered the walls, floor, ceiling and the furniture in his room with said pages.
He had also worked on 14 Manuscripts, all written in the same figure. His mother has admitted that he once told him the books have the power to change humanity in a positive way.
"It is informed," said the mother of Bruno local press. "At school, he was always differentiated, a born leader, with a high power of persuasion. It is a good boy, who has given of the things of the House and others, such as the T-shirts and trousers. This is not because he is my son, I speak of love Bruno, who sees the soul of the people."
Freedom of Thought also characterized Bruno Borges, which is adorned with alchemical symbols mysterious and spotless has symmetry.
On the inside of the House of Bruno there is evidence not only of esoteric knowledge generally outside the scope of the average Joes but also a foreigner in a short period of time, his case has attracted the interest of the local media and a small part of one of his manuscripts has already been translated into Portuguese.
"For thousands of years the human being has tried to find answers to questions such as "What is the meaning of life"? The philosophy that is all indicates, seems to have been undertaken with stories of Miletus in the middle of 700 before J.-C. It aims to find the remains of questions without answers.
Deep Search of the absolute truth comes from the philosophy, and when we are talking about respect of paths easy or difficult, we are referring to this type of theorem. It is easy to accept what you have been taught since childhood and that which is evil. It is difficult when you are an adult to understand that you have been taught since to wrong you suspect that you have been correct.
In other words, if you adapt to certain stimuli including the one from the Environment has determined a certain behavior for you, making you the store of beliefs already provided and well established in the dogmas and rituals, with a mass of people in it; or allowing you to be compliant, the acceptance of the concept of happiness and meaning of life in the media and society, then it is clear that it is part of the easy access to the research of the absolute truth. Does it fit in the second option, that is to say, that which suspected each set of beliefs that is rooted in him, then he has everything to be a researcher sincere in the things around him, the seizure of a path more complex, where a minority of companies or of the faces of courage …"
This mystery develops. By its own admission, Bruno had stumbled on something that reflects the true meaning of life and that it was determined to follow. In its own words, it is launched in a "path complicated" in search of the truth.

NIKOLA TESLA - ELECTRICAL INVENTOR AND VISIONARY GENIUS. FULL FEATURE BIOGRAPHY!
NIKOLA TESLA - ELECTRICAL INVENTOR AND VISIONARY GENIUS. FULL FEATURE BIOGRAPHY!
This documentary presents the story of Nikola Tesla, the great scientist, visionary, and inventor who gave the world alternating current electricity, as well as being the father of the radio.
The film tells the story of this man's astonishing genius, his visions, and inventions. Tesla's scientific and autobiographical writings, as well as archival photographs and reenactments, are used to tell the story. A native of Austro-Hungary, Tesla came to America in 1884. Working first with Edison, the two inventors fell out over Edison's insistence on using direct current.
Tesla took his alternating current vision to Westinghouse. His New York address was renowned for the bolts of lightning emanating from it, as Tesla worked to unlock the secrets of energy and electricity. His quest took him to Colorado.
The film follows Tesla's exploits and eccentricities, which made him a darling of the press. Included is the well-known and touching story of his devotion to a certain white pigeon. Largely forgotten today in spite of the great debt the modern world owes him, the film pays tribute to this overlooked genius.
FINAL PROOF? INCREDIBLE FAST UFO FLYING ABOVE AREA 51
FINAL PROOF? INCREDIBLE FAST UFO FLYING ABOVE AREA 51
Early may this incredible footage was shot near area 51. It shows an object that appeared from outer nowhere. It was tracked by team of UFO hunters that camp right outside area 51.
The object that they captured did not make any sound at all, it appeared out of nowhere. It hoovered the area as it was searching for something.
Than all of the sudden the object start speeding untill it disappeared. It did not produce a sonic boom which is odd, because it clearly reaches speeds well above the speed of sound.
After analysing the footage it appears 2 other UFO's could be seen in the video footage. Were these objects originating from the object?
Was this an extraterrestrial object or was it a super secret aircraft that conducted a test flight above area 51? If it was a secret aircraft, why did it not leave a typical sonic boom when it went supersonic?

Lights in the sky, levitating beings, hard science vs conjecture: Meet the guys trying to sift the crazies from the true witnesses in their search for unidentified flying objects.
At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world slept, Sunita Yadav awoke to a levitating alien.
She watched, petrified, as it hovered a foot above the ground just behind her home. Standing over 4ft tall, with grey skin and big, black eyes, it proceeded from the Yadavs’ backyard toward their front door before – as her son Hitesh remembers – it “just vanished”.
In the 15 years since, the humanoid has made numerous other appearances around the Western Command Hospital in Panchkula, some 10 km away from Chandigarh.
“It’s now a mascot. Residents in the area believe it’s lucky to spot it,” says Hitesh, 20, now a tech student living in Gurgaon.
In their sketch, the alien looks like a swarthy dwarf. But Hitesh remains convinced that what he saw was an extraterrestrial. And he spends much of his free time trying to prove it.
Hitesh runs the free bi-monthly e-zine UFO Magazine India, is developer of the Ufology App and founder of Disclosure Team India, which investigates UFO sightings and encounters in the country.
“Disclosure has grown to 200 members since it was set up in January 2016, including 22 from the US and UK,” he says. The website has a form where people can report their sightings in detail.
This form has been filled four times. “But our investigators hear many stories from locals on the ground,” he stresses.
“I’m currently researching an alien abductee case in Chhattisgarh,” Hitesh says. “I don’t care what people think, because my parents and sister are accepting. But my relatives don’t know what I do. If they did, they’d surely call me crazy.”
Hitesh Yadav, 20, is a tech student at a Gurgaon college. He believes he saw an alien as a child. In his free time, he runs the free e-zine UFO Magazine India. He is also the founder of Disclosure Team India, which investigates UFO sightings and encounters in the country. They currently have four cases under investigation.
II. Arrival
In the inaugural March issue of UFO Magazine India, columnist Ramkrishan Vaishnav deconstructs the Drake equation proposed by American astrophysicist Frank Drake, a mathematical formula used to estimate the number of detectable extraterrestrials (ETs) in the Milky Way.
“I’m a UFOlogist because I’m a scientist. Even the Indian military has reported sightings,” says the 27-year-old entrepreneur from Nagaur, Rajasthan. “We know little about what lies beyond our own solar system. Why dismiss possibilities altogether?”
In his teens (and with The X-Files etched in his psyche), Vaishnav signed up to help create 3D maps for NASA’s moon missions, analyse asteroid samples for The Planetary Society, and study radio data for the SETI@Home project, the UC Berkeley offshoot of SETI or Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute.
But his turning point was March 2008. Just two months after he’d set up TOP (The Other Planet) Research Group to investigate UFO sightings, Vaishnav heard of a sighting in Banswara village, where eight locals reported seeing an unfamiliar craft in the afternoon sky.
Six days later, Vaishnav was there. “The villagers described the UFO as a hat-shaped object with a bright underlight. We also found an odd-shaped stone that looked like nothing else in the radius we scanned. Image evidence of this encounter is the best you’ll find in India,” he says.
What’s really in the sky over your head? Take a look at some of the informed opinions
Vaishnav is now founder of ExpeTechnologies and Shakti Innovative Products. He has filed four patents: for a solar satellite plant, non-conventional wireless mobile charging, touchscreen technology, and a next-gen user-interface system.
Tech research is his bread and butter, but ufology remains his Danish pastry.
“I’m intrigued by why many sightings are from Rajasthan and West Bengal. And the Kongka Pass in Ladakh,” he muses. “It’s also a remote military base, so you never know.
III. Signs
On October 26, 2014, at 4.55 am, a man looks out of the window in Thane and sees a horizontal row of red, yellow and green lights that blink but remain stationary for several minutes, then disappear. He records footage on his cellphone.
On November 7, 2014, a fast-moving object is captured hovering over Bengaluru, framed against a full moon. It stays there for nearly an hour, then disappears as suddenly as it appeared.
These cases are among 60 sightings in 2014 that were assigned to Kumaresan Ramanathan after he joined Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).
Ramanathan is a senior technical engineer with a Chennai-based IT firm who blogs as alienseeker on Wordpress. In 2012, he became India’s first ‘certified UFO investigator’ under MUFON, the largest non-profit investigating UFOs, with 3,000 members worldwide.
Pushkar Vaidya is an astrobiologist and founder of the Indian Astrobiology Research Centre in Mumbai, which studies the origin, forms and future of life in the universe.
“As they say in The X-Files: ‘I wanted to believe, but the tools have been taken away’.” —Pushkar Vaidya
“MUFON employs scientific methods, not conjecture,” says the 36-year-old. “You have to renew your membership and purchase manuals every year, then take an exam and score at least 80% to become a qualified investigator.”
The test is a mix of objective and multiple choice questions, spanning subjects such as how to interact with eyewitnesses and the plan of action if a witness claims to have an encounter. “They present hypothetical situations to gauge if you’d make for a good investigator,” Ramanathan explains. “All tests are examined at the MUFON headquarters in Newport Beach, California. If you make the cut, you’re given an ID and certificate proclaiming you’re licensed.”
But it’s not all love and sunshine. “Of every 100 cases, about 97 end up being fake — optical illusions, doctored images, or everyday objects mistakenly identified as otherwise,” he admits. “This teaches you discernment.”
Now an independent ufologist after working with MUFON for two years, Ramanathan will visit Aniketty, near Coimbatore, to study a spurt of unexplained objects reported since 2011.
“My family always supported me,” he replies, when asked what people make of his ‘other job’. “Some collegians called me Jaadu for devoting so much time to ufology. But who cares about acquaintances?”
At 8.28 p.m. on December 15, 1987, six-year-old Kamal Pant stood on the terrace of his Dehradun home and observed a large, red light soaring directly overhead.
“No, it wasn’t a plane, helicopter, or prank,” he says, before you’ve asked the question. “Whatever it was stayed there a while and made no sound.”
The incident would spur the self-professed ‘sky watcher’ and fan of Star Trek, The X-Files, mythology, and conspiracy theories to scour the internet for all things UFO and ET. Then in 2014, he photographed and filmed what he claims is “a mothership taking off from and landing on the moon.” From thereon, Pant goes full steam ahead.
“I even mailed NASA about it, but didn’t hear from them. Until a month later, when I got an email from someone in Houston asking me to ‘stay away’,” he claims.
“Do you have this email, or a snapshot of it?”
“No. My system got corrupt a day later, and some of my videos vanished. My computer had been tampered with.”
IT engineer Kumaresan Ramanathan says some of his colleagues called him Jaadu, after the alien in the Hindi film Koi... Mil Gaya, but he doesn’t care.
ON THE JOB WITH A UFO INVESTIGATOR
The first thing to do when you receive a report about a UFO sighting is rule out what’s explainable, says Kumaresan Ramanathan, who has served as chief investigator with MUFON (India).
“Phenomena like strange lights are more explainable than not. These can be caused by anything from crackers to iridium flares caused by moving satellites.”
Online tools like FlightRadar and Heavens-Above can help determine if there was a passing craft or astronomical occurrence in the area at the time of the sighting.
Interviews with eyewitnesses are generally conducted via email or over the phone. “Only sightings that are compelling require us to go on site,” Ramanathan says.
What tools does a UFO investigator use? Hitesh Yadav, who is self-trained, lists a film camera, compass, telescope, tape recorder, electromagnetic field or EMF sensor, Geiger counter (for radiation), scintillation counter (for ionising radiation), and Plaster of Paris to make moulds in case impressions are found!
Pant, a computer science lecturer at a private university in Dehradun, is what naysayers would call a tinfoil hatter (conspiracy theorist). He believes NASA and the US are involved in a cover-up, and that alien technology was obtained from the Roswell crash. He also claims to have CE-5 communication with ETs – that is, telepathic communication between himself and aliens.
“My mother and wife have seen everything and know I’m not lying,” Pant says. “Distant relatives call me sanki (madcap), but it doesn’t affect me.”
The 36-year-old father of a toddler, who works with both Disclosure and TOP Research Group, is currently looking into sightings in Ranichauri village, Tehri-Garhwal district. “The events are so common, locals call the beings pariyaan (fairies). They also tell their children not to step out after dark lest they be taken away.”
His colleagues at the university, Pant says, have no qualms with his interests and theories. And even if they did, he wouldn’t break into a sweat.
“Every time I look at the sky, I feel like something, and someone, wants to communicate with me,” he shares. “No one can take that away from me.”
V. 2001: A Space Odyssey
Pushkar Vaidya likes his coffee cold and his feuds hot.
From 2007 to 2015, the astrobiologist was embroiled in a scientific tug of war with astrophysicist and author Jayant Narlikar. The bone of contention: Narlikar’s hypotheses supporting panspermia – the theory that life exists throughout the universe and is distributed through asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. In short: life on earth may have come from external sources.
A truce was eventually called when Vaidya founded the Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (IARC) in Mumbai, for which Narlikar now serves as mentor.
“I’m open to the possibility of ET microbial or intelligent life. I just didn’t think there was enough evidence,” says Vaidya. “If anything, panspermia research is one of IARC’s focus areas.”
Vaidya is no ufologist. The 36-year-old straddles the no-man’s land between belief and scepticism. His bond with Arthur C. Clarke, one of the world’s most prolific sci-fi authors, has much to do with it.
“When I was 16 and studying in Sri Lanka, I wrote In Search of Aliens. Arthur Clarke lived in Colombo and as an ardent fan, I went to his home because I wanted him to pen the foreword to my book,” he laughs. “He didn’t write it, but that kicked off a two-year association.”
Vaidya credits Clarke for bringing wonderment and adventure to science. “Science is now increasingly taking on a tone of finality, especially when it comes to the search for alien life,” he feels.
But he also throws the gauntlet to ufologists.
“The UFO phenomenon is real from a research perspective. The problem is how people go about it. If you look at everything as alien, you’re better calling yourself a flying saucer investigator,” he reasons.
A long discussion touches upon everything from cattle mutilations to the Kardashev Scale, which hypothesises that the most intelligent civilisations can harness energies on a galactic – even cosmic – scale to partake in astral travel.
There’s a lot Pushkar Vaidya believes in. What he’s waiting for is substantiation.
“As they say in The X-Files: ‘I wanted to believe, but the tools have been taken away’,” he smiles.
Want to review the evidence? Here’s a reported UFO sighting from Chennai
Almost every day, new UFO images and videos are posted all over the Internet for everyone to see. Here’s one that, at first glance, may have you believing a fleet of otherworldly orbs were captured on video, maneuvering in wild patterns somewhere near Honolulu, Hawaii.
At least that’s what it looks like in the following video, posted on Oct. 21, 2015, by YouTube channel Earth & Space News. The UFOs — for lack of a better word at the moment — are seen hovering, moving rapidly, darting back and forth, merging with each other, blinking in and out in unison. That’s more than you normally get in a UFO video.
While this may appear to be incredible footage of strange lights in the sky, there are some credibility questions here.
First, the identity of the alleged videographer or the exact date and time of the video are not revealed. No information is offered that could help any research effort to learn more about this incident. But the video itself is riddled with visual problems.
“I would say this is definitely CGI [computer-generated imagery],” according to Ben Hansen, the former lead investigator of Syfy Channel’s “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files.”
Hansen points out several segments of the video that have reliability issues.
“At :26 in, the orb on the far left takes a short jog back and forth that didn’t look like it was intended. This happens throughout the video. It looks like evidence of poor anchoring of the object to a fixed reference point,” Hansen told HuffPost in an email.
“They do an OK job with tracking the animation layer over the background, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the video was also filmed off a projected screen of some sort to give the impression of zooming in and out with a handheld camera.”
And what about all those moments when the alleged UFOs appear to suddenly blink out and then come right back, sometimes doing it simultaneously?
“The fact that the blinking lights usually all go out at the same time might indicate a laziness in editing,” Hansen, an ex-FBI special agent, suggests. “It’s much easier to turn off a whole animation layer than it is to take the time to individually adjust each light to fade in and out.”
And there were weird interactions between the “orbs” and some clouds.
“They had some problems with clouds and rotoscoping (telling the software what objects to treat as separate layers). At 4:50, an orb is traveling upward through the cloud. It disappears through the edge of it as if it was behind the cloud. Yet, it then travels straight down, and now it’s on top of the cloud. They either forgot it was supposed to travel behind it, or they just got lazy and didn’t think it would be noticed.”
Another visual problem occurs with the clouds. If you watch closely, you’ll notice how (around the 6:20 mark), as the horizon sometimes bounces up and down, from camera movement, the clouds above it stay in the same place. Shouldn’t they bounce as well?
One final issue should at least be mentioned. The following double image shows an identical moment from the video, with one interesting difference: The image on the left was posted by Earth & Space News on Oct. 21 of this year. The right side picture comes from another YouTube channel, FindingUFO, which posted a shortened version of the entire video on March 14, 2013.
EARTH AND SPACE NEWS (LEFT) FINDINGUFO (RIGHT)
While the YouTube channels offered the same video more than two-and-a-half years apart, they both neglected to provide any extra identifying information about its origin.

IS THIS THE REAL REASON WHY THE ANCIENTS BUILT THOUSANDS OF PYRAMIDS?
IS THIS THE REAL REASON WHY THE ANCIENTS BUILT THOUSANDS OF PYRAMIDS?
An interesting fact about our world are the countless pyramids that we can find among many different countries. One important questions that many researchers have asked is why did the ancient people erect there structures with this particular pyramidal shape.
One scientist may have have found the reason behind the pyramids existence in many cultures. According to his research, the pyamids have beneficial properties to the region around it and the people in contact with it.
It's energy can boost healing capabilities of living beings making the immune system stronger and regeneration better overall. It can even affect moods eliminating violent tendencies and producing good mental energies. Pyramids can also serve as power stations spreading energy across several electronic components. Weather is also affected, as well as the ozone around it and reduction of seismic activity.
What other benefits does it have? How did the ancients knew about the power of the pyramids?
MIND-BLOWING VIDEO OF UFO OVER MEXICAN HIGHWAY GOES VIRAL
MIND-BLOWING VIDEO OF UFO OVER MEXICAN HIGHWAY GOES VIRAL
If this video is real, it’s got to be one of the best ones we’ve seen this year.
One lucky witness was able to capture footage of a slow moving dark disc over a busy highway in Morelia, Mexico. And since he was driving at the same time, we have to commend him for multitasking.
The mysterious craft exhibits almost graceful movements and is completely silent, which is a strong indication that the object is of extraterrestrial origins.
According to the witness, the event took place on March 27 on a highway north of the city of Morelia in the state of Michoacán.
“DUE TO THE TRAFFIC I COULD NOT MAKE A LONGER RECORDING,” SAID CARLOS ARRIOLA, THE MAN WHO FILMED THE UFO
After analyzing the video, I can offer two conclusions: the object seems real and it looks like there’s a booger on the steering wheel.

Egyptian Eye of Horus Sign In Sky Over UK, He Is Watching Us, Video, May 2017, UFO Sighting News.
Date of sighting: May 2017
Location of sighting: Leeds, UK
This could be a sign that the god Horus is alive and well. If thats true, then he/she is probably just an alien species that came to earth long ago to indulge its own ego, then left when it had its full. Apparently its still got its eye on Earth, but I think people will be less willing today to follow Horus than they were 3,000 years ago.
An amateur photographer was left dumbstruck when he captured a striking eye-shaped cloud creating a rather chilling spectacle in the sky above his home. Father-of-two Graham Telford spotted the unusual meteorological sighting looming over Leeds, Yorkshire, on Wednesday. The 46-year-old said he couldn't help feeling like 'he was being watched' while photographing the peculiar formation. Conspiracy theorists and cloud watchers alike have since claimed the cloud is the 'eye of god' or proof of government surveillance.
Two Glowing UFOs Over Home In New Jersey, May 2017, Photos, UFO Sighting News.
Two Glowing UFOs Over Home In New Jersey, May 2017, Photos, UFO Sighting News.
Date of sighting: May 5, 2017 Location of sighting: Shamong, New Jersey, USA Source: MUFON #83551 UFOs can cloak to hide themselves from us, but there in one thing no UFO can hide from...an infrared camera. The camera at night makes its own IR light shooting out of it with IR LEDs and captures everything that passes in front of it. Here the objects are two glowing entities that come down low to investigate the persons yard. Such UFOs are invisible to the naked eye, but infrared cameras and night vision cameras will catch them. Scott C. Waring Eyewitness states:
Checking my home camera footage last night, before formatting my storage card, when I came across the attached 4 images. The object set off my camera, so it had to have been within about 45 ft. The camera only fires when an object moves, therefore this thing was hovering and moving for over 40 mins. I don't recall anything about that night, but this did co-inside with my dog acting very strangely that Wed evening (a lot of dog in the neighborhood barking that evening) It wasn't until I pulled my camera images last night (5/5/17) that I put two and two together. My hunting dog is part Coonhound and nothing usually phases her, with the exception of Coyotes! The things I believe: 1. Not the moon - wrong place, wrong phase. 2. Not a plane - no other lights, can't hover. No sound. 3. Not a Drone - 2am, dark and flying through trees, no-one has that skill. 4. Helicopter - would have to be the front light, which meant it was flying backwards, and no other lights, no sound. 5. Close enough to activate the sensor on the camera over a 43 min duration. If you want the camera for inspection, its all yours, but I'll need it back for my gate. The camera time footage stamp is 1 hr off due to DST.
They’re not from the government – they’re from Pleiades, Betelgeuse and Andromeda – but they’re here to help. At least that’s what a British green energy expert claims after first writing a book about alien hybrids and then being introduced to and allegedly talking directly to aliens himself. And by “help,” he means to aid humans to “evolve into higher beings.” Can they hurry up already?
Miguel Mendonça is a Rhodesian-born author now residing in Bristol whose early works were based on his experience and research in renewable energy, especially with the World Future Council. He’s the author of “Feed-in Tariffs: Accelerating the Deployment of Renewable Energy” and co-author of “A Renewable World: Energy, Ecology, Equality.”
Miguel Mendonça
In 2015, Mendonça wrote “Meet the Hybrids – The Lives and Missions of ET Ambassadors on Earth,” a collection of interviews with eight people claiming to be alien hybrids which also included information for others who may suspect they have been abducted and possibly carry alien DNA. The hybrids – who claimed their DNA came from various alien species – were all given the same questions to answer. They all professed that the aliens they encountered were here to improve humans, primarily in a spiritual way.
This book was criticized for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the spiritual ‘New Age’ feel. Mendonça interviewed only the hybrids and not their relatives, friends or anyone associated with them. That could have been to protect them from ridicule. However, he also did not use a lie detector and asked none of them to submit to DNA testing or examination for implants. Finally, one of the alleged hybrids revealed that she had met with several of the others prior to the interviews.
That criticism could be why Mendonça wrote his new book, “Being with the Beings: The How and the Why of ET Contact.” In this one, he allegedly goes right to the source – real aliens like members of the Fajan Race from a planet in the Andromeda galaxy. They told him:
We are from a vibrational existence which is similar to what humans call the fifth dimension. Tthe exciting part is that Earth, and all living things on earth, are currently in a stage of wondrous evolution. This is a reason for the immense need for disclosure and willing reconnection with us – your cosmic brothers and sisters.
He also shares his alleged conversations with Sasha, a Pleiadian who tells him her species abducts and works with humans to help them transcend to a higher state of consciousness where there is a lack of ego and the physical body becomes irrelevant.
While this book again seems to promote an alien-New-Age philosophy, the emphasis on disconnecting with the physical body may be more important to Mendonça, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, a crippling disease that some abduction experts believe could be caused by alien encounters. Mendonça says that being around the aliens has made him feel better but has not changed his physical condition.
It would be nice if Miguel Mendonça was bringing real proof that aliens are here to help – governments don’’t seem to be doing too well at this. It would be nice if he found some aliens who could help with green energy, his other interest. It would be nice if he had real evidence of alien influence to make humans into a better species above and beyond just adopting some New Age principles. It would be even nicer if he was working with aliens who could cure multiple sclerosis, a terrible disease.
Since the 1980s, sightings of large, triangular-shaped UFOs have been reported throughout the world. They are usually described as being black in color, making a low humming noise, and very often with rounded – rather than angled – corners. The sheer proliferation of such reports has led some ufological commentators to strongly suspect that the Flying Triangles (as they have come to be known) are prime examples of still-classified aircraft, the development of which was secretly begun in the 1980s by elements of the U.S. Department of Defense. Others take the view that the FTs have extraterrestrial origins.
In March 1993 a series of Flying Triangle encounters occurred in British airspace that went on to have a profound effect on high-ranking sources within both the Royal Air Force and the Ministry of Defense. More importantly, it was that single wave of encounters that ultimately led the Ministry of Defense to liaise with their American counterparts to try and determine, once and for all, what the FTs really are. The story comes from one of those at the forefront of the study into the aforementioned sightings: Nick Pope, who, for three years (1991-1994), investigated UFO incidents for the Ministry of Defense.
While much has been written about the March 1993 cases (which some researchers believe were evidence of a real, unidentified phenomenon and others conclude was nothing more than a storm in a teacup), far less has been written about the U.S.-U.K. liaisons on the issues concerning the FTs. In the wake of the March 1993 FT wave, Nick Pope told me: “We decided that we couldn’t ignore the various rumors that were doing the rounds about a supposed Top Secret aircraft developed by the U.S. Government and called Aurora – or, indeed, any hypersonic and/or prototype aircraft operated by the Americans.
“There had been persistent rumors in the aviation world and among the UFO lobby that the SR71 Blackbird had been replaced by a hypersonic aircraft code-named Aurora and that that was what the Flying Triangles really were. I was well aware that there had been some interesting stories about visual and radar sightings around certain air bases; however, I hadn’t put much store in these rumors – not least because there had been some very definitive denials from the Americans.
“I know there’s a lot of cynicism about government and the military. And although officialdom may refuse to answer a question and may sometimes give a misleading answer, outright lying is incredibly rare. And when it does occur, if it’s uncovered it almost certainly leads to resignation. But with the March 1993 sightings – and in spite of the denials from the Americans that they were responsible for the Flying Triangles – we did contact them to make inquiries. This was because they have the responsibility pertaining to the U.S. presence in Britain. Those inquiries bore absolutely no fruit at all. The Americans said: ‘No. We can shed no light at all on the UFO sightings that have led to your inquiry.’”
Pope was able to disclose, however, that the liaison with the Americans was not without its moment of intrigue. “If anything,” he explained to me, “there was an interesting little hint that the Americans, too, were seeing these Flying Triangles over their territory. As we were making our inquiries, they turned the question around and wanted to know if our Royal Air Force had a triangular-shaped, hypersonic prototype aircraft of some sort. So, presumably, the Americans were having Flying Triangle sightings, too.
“But this was interesting, in light of the fact that the Americans supposedly got out of UFO investigations back in 1969 when the Air Force’s Project Blue Book closed down. Of course, you may not officially be in the UFO game, but you are certainly going to be aware of – and take an interest in – reports of structured craft in your airspace. So, essentially, we drew blanks with the Americans.”
Pope adds: “Bearing in mind that the Americans had inquired – at an official level, no less – if the British Royal Air Force had in its employ something broadly fitting the description of a Flying Triangle, and we had said ‘No,’ I still felt obliged to address the issue of whether or not the rumors about se }cret aircraft being flown by us were true. First, from my own knowledge of prototype aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and so on, the Triangles don’t fit into the typical pattern, and I’ll explain why. Where we do have such pieces of kit, they’re not tested over the heads of ‘Joe Public;’ they’re tested in a small number of clearly defined ranges and danger areas – mostly out at sea such as the Aberporth Range in Cardigan Bay.”
Pope also states on this highly-controversial matter: “You simply do not fly a prototype craft over a military base or wherever, and run the risk that someone will either (a) scramble a [Tornado] F-3 [aircraft] to try and intercept it; or (b) take a photograph of it which will end up on the front page of The Sun or Jane’s Defense Weekly. It’s simply not the way that things are done. We checked domestically anything that might have been flying. But if we’d have been poking our noses into something that didn’t concern us, the investigation would have been quietly switched off. In fact, the opposite happened. We were making big waves throughout the Royal Air Force, the Ministry of Defense and at an international level.”
Pope’s final word on the matter to me: “So, the domestic secret aircraft theory is interesting but it doesn’t hold water.”
There’s more than one way to look for signs of life from the distant past in our solar system.
As science continues to search the cosmos for evidence of intelligent extraterrestrials and, at the very least, for habitable planets that might harbor even non-intelligent life, one scientist is raising another eye-opening question: Was there a time in the far distant past when an advanced civilization actually lived on one of the planets of our solar system, long before earthlings evolved?
Pennsylvania State University astrophysicist Jason T. Wright suggests that ancient aliens may have lived on nearby planets hundreds of millions of years ago, before vanishing without a trace.
In a new scientific paper, “Prior Indigenous Technological Species,” published in Cornell University’s research archive, ArXiv, on April 24, Wright speculates:
One of the primary open questions of astrobiology is whether there is extant or extinct life elsewhere in the solar system. Implicit in much of this work is that we are looking for microbial or, at best, unintelligent life, even though technological artifacts might be much easier to find.
But if a prior technological, perhaps spacefaring, species ever arose in the solar system, it might have produced artifacts or other technosignatures that have survived to present day.
Here, I discuss the origins and possible locations for technosignatures of such a prior indigenous technological species, which might have arisen on ancient Earth or another body, such as a pre-greenhouse Venus or a wet Mars.
HuffPost asked Wright how far back in time he thinks aliens might have lived in our solar system and if some of them may still be lingering out there.
“It seems pretty clear there aren’t any now. That’s become more clear as we’ve explored the solar system robotically. In terms of large, intelligent, technological civilizations, that seems pretty case closed,” he said in an interview Friday.
While Wright pays tribute to the imaginations that created tales of Martians and moon dwellers in his paper, he remained cautiously open-minded about what’s possible in time and space. “While the applications of this idea in science fiction are usually fanciful, it is unclear to what degree the existence of such species in reality is allowed or disallowed by evidence,” he wrote.
In the interview, he said he thinks it’s interesting to wonder if there could have been a previous species on Earth that used technology like we do and if there’s any room in the geological or fossil record for that, or have we completely foreclosed it?
“My guess is that we can rule out big swaths of the Earth’s history. The farther back you go, the harder it is to rule something like that out. If they’re very old, there may not be any traces. Things don’t last long. If you put something in orbit around the sun, it’ll be subject to collisions with asteroids and meteors.
“So, anything, including planetary surfaces in the solar system, just gets constantly hit with these things. When you’re on the surfaces of objects, like asteroids or moons or planets, those surfaces can also completely turn over, given enough time.”
NASA defines astrobiology as “the study of the origin, evolution, distribution and future of life in the universe. This multidisciplinary field encompasses the search for habitable environments in our solar system and habitable planets outside our solar system.”
Wright told HuffPost of two important ingredients in looking for signs of life somewhere in space.
“In the field of astrobiology, we talk about what are called biosignatures. If you look at a planet or a moon that has life on it, how would you know? What is the signature ― the signal ― that says this is life and not a completely sterile object? So, that’s a biosignature.
“A technosignature is the same idea but not for any life ― it’s for the technology that’s been engineered and constructed and designed by life. For instance, a radio transmitter would be one of our most obvious technosignatures. And we build large structures. The Empire State Building is a technosignature.”
According to Wright, it’s important to keep searching.
