Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

Is there a connection between a strange and controversial cattle-mutilation event that occurred in New Mexico in June 1976, and the equally controversial UFO incident that went down in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England in December 1980? Let’s take a look. We’ll begin with the 1976 affair. From 1975 onward, Police Officer Gabe Valdez, of Espanola, New Mexico, investigated multiple UFO/animal mutilation cases in and around Rio Arriba County, NM. In fact, the total was twenty-eight. One of the most bizarre events occurred in June 1976, as Valdez’s files demonstrate:
“Investigations around the area revealed that a suspected aircraft of some type had landed twice, leaving three pod marks positioned in a triangular shape. The diameter of each pod was 14 inches. Emanating from the two landings were smaller triangular shaped tripods 28 inches and 4 inches in diameter. Investigation at the scene showed that these small tripods had followed the cow for approximately 600 feet. Tracks of the cow showed where she had struggled and fallen. The small tripod tracks were all around the cow. Other evidence showed that grass around the tripods, as they followed the cow, had been scorched. Also a yellow oily substance was located in two places under the small tripods. This substance was submitted to the State Police Lab. The Lab was unable to detect the content of the substance.”
Valdez continued: “A sample of the substance was submitted to a private lab and they were unable to analyze the substance due to the fact that it disappeared or disintegrated. Skin samples were analyzed by the State Police Lab and the Medical Examiner’s Office. It was reported that the skin had been cut with a sharp instrument.” Seventy-two hours later, Valdez liaised with Dr. Howard Burgess, of the New Mexico-based Sandia Laboratories, with a view to having the area checked for radiation. It was a wise move. The radiation level was double that which could normally be expected. Valdez’s conclusions on this issue: “It is the opinion of this writer that radiation findings are deliberately being left at the scene to confuse investigators.”
The case was not over, however. Whatever, or whoever, was responsible for the mutilation made a return visit. Once again, we need to take a look at the official files on the affair. In Valdez’s own words: “There was also evidence that the tripod marks had returned and removed the left ear. Tripod marks were found over Mr. Gomez’s tire tracks of his original visit. The left ear was intact when Mr. Gomez first found the cow. The cow had a 3-month-old calf which has not been located since the incident. This appears strange since a small calf normally stays around the mother even though the cow is dead.”
Now, let’s move on to Rendlesham Forest and December 1980. The Rendlesham affair is a case which saw numerous military personnel from the twin-military U.K. Royal Air Force bases of Bentwaters and Woodbridge experiencing profound UFO activity in the nearby East coast woods, between December 26 and 28. Without doubt, the most widely accepted scenario within the UFO research community is that extraterrestrials landed/manifested in those dark woods in late December. There is talk of a small, intelligently controlled vehicle moving through the trees, of lights beaming down to a weapons-storage area in the vicinity, of bizarre activity in the woods, and of strange, dwarfish entities seen at close quarters. There is even talk of local prisons being primed for evacuation at some point between December 26 and 28, 1980.
On January 13, 1981, Deputy Base Commander Colonel Charles Halt prepared a memo on the situation for the attention of the British Ministry of Defense. It began as follows: “Early in the morning of 27 Dec 80 (approximately 0300L) two USAF security police patrolmen saw unusual lights outside the back gate at RAF Woodbridge. Thinking an aircraft might have crashed or been forced down, they called for permission to go outside the gate to investigate. The individuals reported seeing a strange glowing object in the forest. The object was described as being metallic in appearance and triangular in shape, approximately two to three meters across the base and approximately two meters high. It illuminated the entire forest with a white light. The object itself had a pulsing red light on top and a bank(s) of blue lights underneath. The object was hovering or on legs. As the patrolmen approached the object it maneuvered through the trees and disappeared. At this time the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy. The object was briefly sighted approximately an hour later near the back gate.”
Halt had more to say: “The next day, three depressions 1 1/2″ deep and 7″ in diameter were found where the object had been sighted on the ground. The following night (29 Dec 80) the area was checked for radiation. Beta/Gamma readings of 0.1 milliroentgens were recorded with peak readings in the three depressions and near the center of the triangle formed by the three depressions. A nearby tree had moderate (0.05 – 0.07) readings on the side of the tree facing towards the three depressions.”
And, finally, there was this from Colonel Halt: “Later in the night a red sun-like object was seen through the trees. It moved about and pulsed. At one point it appeared to throw off glowing particles and then broke into five separate white objects and disappeared. Immediately thereafter, three star like objects were noticed in the sky, two objects to the north and one to the south, all of which were about 10 degrees off of the horizon. The objects moved rapidly in sharp, angular movements and displayed red, green and blue lights. The objects to the north appeared to be elliptical through 8-10 power lens. They then turned to full circles. The objects in the north remained in the sky for an hour or more. The object to the south was visible for two to three hours and beamed down a stream of light from time to time. Numerous individuals, including the undersigned, witnessed the activities in paragraphs 2 and 3.”
Now, let’s take a look at the similarities between the two cases, which were roughly four-and-a-half years apart:
(A) In the New Mexican case, the unidentified object left behind “…three pod marks positioned in a triangular shape.” At Rendlesham Forest, “…three depressions 1 1/2″ deep and 7″ in diameter were found where the object had been sighted on the ground.”
(B) The radiation levels at the scene of the mute were twice the level of what could be called normal. In Rendlesham Forest, the radiation level was elevated.
(C) Officer Valdez reported that at the Rio Arriba farm a cow had been mutilated and its calf was missing. At the site of the Rendlesham incident, “…the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy.”
Of course, the connections are without doubt tenuous. But, they are also highly intriguing…
Back in 2013, I wrote an article here at Mysterious Universe titled “The High Point of a Cover-Up” The subject? The infamous Rendlesham Forest affair of December 1980 – which saw multiple UFO activity in the direct vicinity of two U.K. military installations. Their names were Royal Air Force Bentwaters and Royal Air Force Woodbridge, both in the English county of Suffolk. The article included the following words (QUOTE): “One of the little known rumors surrounding the Rendlesham Forest case is that at the height of the strange encounters a panicky British Government was on the absolute verge of evacuating a number of nearby prisons, all in the county of Suffolk, too. In the 1980s, the late Graham Birdsall, who was the editor of Britain’s UFO Magazine from the 1990s to the early 2000s, had the opportunity to speak with one George Wild – a prison officer at Armley Prison in the English city of Leeds – who had some intriguing data to impart on this notable aspect of the story.
“According to what Wild told Birdsall, a senior prison official from the British government’s Home Office had once let it slip to him, Wild, that high-level orders had arrived at the nearby HM Prison Highpoint North advising staff to prepare for a possible evacuation of the inmates due to a matter of grave national security. The date was December 27, 1980. Well, if that was the case, wouldn’t the prison-governor’s official log-book for that period reveal and reflect the facts? Indeed, it might. That is, if we could find and study its potentially priceless pages (END OF QUOTE).”
By the British Government’s own admission, and as I noted in my earlier article, officialdom would only state: “It has not proved possible to locate that journal.” Anyone surprised? I’m sure as hell not. There is a reason why I mention this. The saga of HM Prison Highpoint North does not stand alone. The late Georgina Bruni – who wrote a book on the Rendlesham affair titled You Can’t Tell The People – uncovered information suggesting that two additional prisons were about to be evacuated at the height of the incidents which went down in Rendlesham Forest. Georgina’s information came from several sources, one of whom worked for the British Police Force’s Special Branch; someone who Georgina came to know well.
One of the facilities was once called HM Prison Blundeston. As is noted at Wikipedia: “On 4 September 2013, the Ministry of Justice announced that it intended to close Blundeston Prison by March 2014. The closure of the prison led to criticism from local politicians, including planning proposals to allow the site to be used for a large housing development.”
According to Georgina’s sources, the other facility was HM Prison Hollesley Bay. Notably, Hollesley Bay is located only eight miles from Woodbridge – once the home to the previously-mentioned RAF Woodbridge. The people of the town refer to the prison as “The Colony.” One of those who took a keen interest in these claims, that mass evacuations were on the verge of taking place when the UFO events in the forest were at their height, was the late Lord Hill-Norton. He raised this issue, in the House of Lords, on January 23, 2001. He did so specifically as a result of the revelations contained in the pages of Georgina Bruni’s book.
Lord Bassam, then the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Home Office, stated concisely: “We can find no record of any such instructions.” Does that mean no such records ever existed? Or, does it mean that, by 2001, they were long gone? We’re talking about destroyed, burned, shredded – you get the picture. The Government has chosen not to expand on its very brief 2001 statement. Again, no surprises.
Whatever the truth, there is no doubt that this is an aspect of the Rendlesham case which is well worth pursuing. George Wild spoke on-the-record about what he knew of a planned evacuation of HM Prison Highpoint North, about which the British Government says: “From 1938 to 1970 the site of the prison was a Royal Air Force base. It was then used as a transit camp for Ugandan Asian refugees, before opening in 1977 as a prison.” George Wild never wavered on his words. Georgina’s sources chose not to speak on-the-record regarding Blundeston and Hollesley. This is not surprising: her Special Branch source was on a much-welcomed pension from the British Government, having retired in the 1990s.
Anyone up for the challenge of looking into the 1980 planned evacuations? When it comes to Rendlesham Forest, there may yet be further amazing revelations to be found. Disturbing revelations, too…
Last year, NASA announced the development of a new vehicle seemingly straight out of science fiction: a space submarine. Since so many of the moons in our solar system are believed to have potentially life-sustaining oceans rife with hydrothermal activity beneath their icy surfaces, an interplanetary submarine may be the perfect tool to search the unexplored waters of alien worlds for any signs of life. To that end, NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) want to send a robotic submarine to Europa, one of the largest of Jupiter’s 67 moons and a prime candidate in the search for alien life in the solar system.
Plumes of vapor have been spotted emanating from Europa’s icy surface. These are believed to be from subsurface geysers which some astrophysicists suspect could create the right conditions to sustain aquatic life on Europa.
According to the joint NASA/ESA press release describing their Joint Europa Mission (JEM), both agencies believe there is a good chance Europa might sustain alien life of some kind:
There is a consensus in the planetary community that Europa is the closest and probably the most promising target to search for extant life in our solar system. The Galileo discovery of a sub-surface ocean likely in direct contact with a silicate floor that could be a source of the key chemical species needed for the build-up of biomolecules. […] Europa is likely habitable, and [we] strongly support a scientific plan to go there and see if it is indeed inhabited.
To prepare for such a mission, NASA has funded and is currently testing submarine designs. One such sub designed by Stone Aerospace, ARTEMIS, is currently being tested in Antarctica. NASA revealed the results of some of the preliminary tests at this year’s NASA Astrobiology Science Conference (AbSciCon). The difficulties of sending a submarine to a distant moon, getting through the moon’s thick icy surface, and then operating a remote mission all from a single borehole are many, and ARTEMIS will have to undergo years of testing before it’s ready to be sent to explore Europa.
The submarine was tested under Antarctica’s Ross Ice Shelf.
The recently-published tests of the ATEMIS submarine were designed around three main objectives:
(1) the ability to reliably conduct operations in completely ice covered waters accessible only via a single borehole for deployment and recovery, (2) the ability to characterize the physical and geochemical environment, and (3) the ability to search for life at the ice-water interface and conduct detailed investigations (in this case, to take and return water samples) in identified areas of interest.
According to the presentation given at AbSciCon 2017, the tests were all successful. Don’t get too excited yet, though. The Joint Europa Mission will first have to send a probe to conduct a flyby of Europa in order to determine where its nuclear-powered laser drill could realistically break through the 10-15 miles of ice covering Europa. You read that right: nuclear-powered laser drill. Those Europan lifeforms are gonna love us.
ARTEMIS has its work cut out for it: the exact composition of Europa’s ocean is still unknown.
Spherical bubbles preserved in 3.48 billion-year-old rocks in Western Australia provide evidence for early life having lived in ancient hot springs on land.
Life on Earth kicked off hundreds of millions of years earlier than previously thought, scientists have claimed.
In a new find, the earliest known living creature popped up about 3.5 billion years ago in a hot spring in Australia.
Well-preserved bubbles and layers of rock formed by microbes signal that life started 580 million years earlier than previous research has indicated.
The clues were found in the Dresser Formation of the North Pole Dome, Pilbara Craton, Western Australia. The findings were published May 9 in Nature Communications.
The discovery hints that Charles Darwin may well have been correct in his theory that life on Earth in fact began inside a “warm little pond” and not in the sea, as many modern scientists have hypothesized.
“This may have implications for an origin of life in freshwater hot springs on land, rather than the more widely discussed idea that life developed in the ocean and adapted to land later,” said Tara Djokic, lead author of the study and a PhD student at the University of New South Wales.
And it could help scientists in the hunt for alien life on Mars.
The red planet is also believed to have had hot springs 3.5 billion years ago.
Now scientists could focus their attention on these spots to discover whether extraterrestrial organisms ever existed on the Red Planet.

“Of the top three potential landing sites for the Mars 2020 rover, Columbia Hills is indicated as a hot spring environment,” Djokic added.
“If life can be preserved in hot springs so far back in Earth’s history, then there is a good chance it could be preserved in Martian hot springs too.”
“Our exciting findings don’t just extend back the record of life living in hot springs by 3 billion years, they indicate that life was inhabiting the land much earlier than previously thought, by up to about 580 million years,” Djokic added.
Previously, the oldest known geyserite had been identified from rocks about 400 million years old.
You don’t happen to see a Su-27 Flanker dogfighting with a F-16 unless you visit Area 51. Here are the amazing photographs taken near Groom Lake, on Nov. 8, 2016, U.S. election day.
The photographs in this post were taken from Tikaboo Valley, near Groom Lake, Nevada, by Phil Drake, who was lucky enough to observe a Su-27P Flanker-B dogfighting with an F-16, presumably one of the four Groom Lake based -D models in the skies of the famous Area 51.
Although the quality of the pictures is low (the aircraft were flying between 20K and 30K feet) they are extremely interesting since Flankers operating from Groom are not a secret (they have been documented in 2003 – 2004 and more recently between 2012 and 2014) but have rarely been photographed.
The F-16 (bottom – highlighted) and the Su-27 are flying against each other. Both are on a left hand turn.

“The date was November 8th, US election day, and the sighting was between 1500 and 1525.
I was visiting Nevada hoping to catch a glimpse of some of the latest defense programmes being tested.
On the Monday and Wednesday, Nellis Aggressor F-15s and F-16s were regularly overhead, dropping flares and sonic booms. It was Tuesday afternoon when the skies went quiet for a couple of hours, and I hoped this may be a sign of something unusual being flown.
Eventually the sound of jet noise caught my attention, and I scanned the clear blue skies ’til I saw the tiny speck of an approaching military jet at high altitude, leaving an intermittent contrail.
It was instantly recognisable as a Russian built Sukhoi 27 Flanker, and carried no national insignia or identifying marks.
I took my camera out and photographed the ensuing dogfight between the Flanker and a F-16. The sortie seemed to consist of a head on intercept, conducted at descending altitudes from 30 down to 20 thousand feet, and after each intercept a turning dogfight ensued after they had flashed past each other.
The highly manoeuvrable Flanker was a single seat version, a Su-27P, and it pulled out all of its best moves to get behind the F-16.
I watched in awe as the pair fought it out for 25 minutes before they both climbed to altitude and flew back into Groom Lake restricted airspace.
My scanner remained silent throughout the whole encounter.”
What they were testing is difficult to say. We can’t even be sure the Flanker was one of those reportedly flown from Groom or a privately owned one rented to perform some sort of testing. So all we can say is pure speculation.

It was a daylight operation therefore, unless they were trying to assess the visual appearance of a Su-27 in standard Russian Air Force scheme under a specific angle at a certain altitude and so on, it was, most probably, something not related to a “black project” that would be carried out at night, when spotters (that have become a common presence around Area 51 and Tonopah Test Range) would find it hard to ID the types involved and understand what’s happening.
Anyway, the U.S. armed forces have been operating MiG and Sukhoi jets for decades.
In the late 1960s, CIA, U.S. Air Force, Navy and several other agencies were involved in highly classified programs whose purpose was to evaluate MiG fighter jets and study the best ways to face them in air-to-air combat.
Among these programs, “Have Doughnut” was aimed at exploiting a MiG-21 Fishbed-E that the U.S. acquired in 1967 from Israel that had obtained it in Aug. 1966, when an Iraqi Air Force pilot flew it in Israel during a training sortie that was actually a pre-arranged defection.
Have Doughnut saw the MiG-21, using cover designation YF-110, fly over Groom Lake against F-4, F-105, F-111, F-100, F-104, B-66, RF-101, RF-4 and F-5 during offensive and defensive missions that gave the evaluation team the opportunity to assess the effectiveness of the U.S. air combat tactics.
Half a century after “Have Doughnut” some Russian planes, in this case a camo Su-27, are still used for some sort of testing and training in the U.S.

We undertook a very unusual trip over Nevada desert.
Area 51, a myth in the underworld of conspiracy theories, especially for those who believe in alien spacecrafts, flying saucers, UFOs etc, is a highly classified installation in the Nevada desert.
Since the 1950s, the remote site, located south of the dry Groom Lake, has been used to support the development and testing of several aircraft and weapons systems including the famous U-2 Dragon Lady, the Mach 3+ SR-71 Blackbird, or the later F-117 stealth fighter (more precisely its Have Blue prototype).
Groom Lake airbase is located inside the Nellis Test and Training Range, 200 miles north of Las Vegas, under a dedicated and forbidden airspace identified as R4808N in the aeronautical charts. This place is well protected from prying eyes as the ground perimeter extend to 10 miles from the runways, and a small ridge inside the Area prevent anyone on the Tikaboo valley to see anything.
Most enthusiasts and photographers climb Tikaboo peak. This vantage point is difficult to access, is almost 8,000 feet high which puts it 3,000 feet over the airbase but 50 miles away. You need a powerful telelens to see anything from there.
Being a very long time military aviation fan, both interested in the secret life of Groom Lake and in the larger Nellis Test and Training Range (NTTR) where every Red Flag exercise happen since the 70s, I wanted to see it in real. What made it possible is that I’m a private pilot, and the airspace east of R4808N is “just” classified as a Military Operating Area (MOA). It’s a danger area when it’s active or “hot” (meaning some military activity is scheduled or in progress), but still accessible for anyone at their own risk.
While on vacation in the area, I decided to attempt a flight there, during the weekend to lessen any risk, particularly with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) in the area. I booked a rental Cessna 172 Skyhawk at West Air Aviation in North Las Vegas airport (KVGT) and had an appointment with an instructor for a check ride.

On a Friday late afternoon, after having spent the day around Nellis AFB, taking pictures of military jets of all sorts involved in their last day of Red Flag simulated war, I met Jacob for my “flight review”. After one hour of questions/answers about air traffic rules in the US and flight safety, I climbed in the small Cessna 172 cockpit for a short flight.
The sun was really low and it was time for me to prove Jacob that I knew how to handle this wingy thing. Fortunately, I use to fly a Skyhawk at home so I behaved myself at the controls. Slow flight, steep turns and simulated loss of engine: I went through all before heading back to the airfield for pattern work.
After a couple of touch and goes, and the radio work with the tower, Jacob asked me to perform a full stop landing on runway 30L. Back to earth, I was now ready to take to the sky as Pilot in Command. The only unknown thing was how would I handle the Bravo airspace controllers of Las Vegas, as KVGT lays in an easier Delta airspace.
Next morning, I was on the tarmac for the walkaround of N9572H, my 42 years old Skyhawk for the day. No glass cockpit here, just the typical six-pack instruments with a trusty Garmin GNS430 GPS. I also had my iPad with a GPS antenna and a good nav app with all the latest charts in it.

After a thorough preflight, I started up, listened to the ATIS and talked to Ground with a request to taxi for a VFR flight to Rachel and Lincoln airfield (1L1), with Mike information. No more info given to the controller about my intended and legal visit close to Area 51. Both 30L and 30R runways were in use and I soon taxied to the runup area. Radio was clear and I was now confident that I could handle the communications with McCarran or Nellis AFB controllers. After my routine tests, dutifully performed in accordance with the checklist, I switched to the Tower and requested take-off. Then again, directions were very concise but clear, and my radio ability reinforced my confidence.
Moments later, I’m lining up for a “rolling take-off” on 30L runway, an expedited departure. Full power, no flaps, 55 knots indicated, no alarm, 2300+ rpm checked, I’m rotating and the wheels leave the ground. I’m very concentrated as I inform the tower that I prefer a 350 heading rather than the proposed 280 heading (where do they want to send me ?). My right turn is approved and I’m soon handed over to Nellis Approach. I’m still below their airspace but I need to request a clearance before entering Bravo airspace. I quickly request it and I hear a fast “72H is cleared thru Bravo airspace” ; this is my passport for a further climb north of Las Vegas.
With the hot weather, the climb is slow and I’m passing Gass peak. Again, as I climb to 8,500 feet, I have no problem understanding the instructions from Nellis and I can copy the traffic information when they tell me that I’ll be overtaken by four F/A-18 Navy jets, 2,000 feet above. I will never see them, even with my cranium turning everywhere inside the Cessna cockpit. Shortly after that, I hear a “resume own navigation” and I settled onto a 8,500 feet cruise, still heading to 350, the direction of my first waypoint, Alamo.
After 10 minutes, Nellis Approach wants me to leave their frequency as I’m reaching the virtual fence of their airspace and I’m left with Los Angeles Center on 134.65. This will be a frequency on which no communication will ever be made with my small Cessna, as it’s overloaded with static. I hear some voices, request “flight following” 5 times and I’ll never get a clear reply.
After a while, I decide to climb a thousand feet more. This may improve radio reception and also give me a better view of the area beyond the long north-south Sheep Range to my left. 5 minutes later, I’m stable at 9,500 feet with, still, no radio contact with LA Center, but with a good view. I know that Blackjack control is the ATC facility managing the whole NTTR
A few minutes later, approaching Alamo I get my first good glimpse at Groom Lake and its buildings. With the naked eye, it’s impossible to distinguish anything other than these big hangars, small metallic dots reflecting the sun. I’ve got my camera on the passenger seat and I take some pictures with my 55mm, an easy lens for photographing while handling the yoke, but not big enough for the distance.

I decide to turn left as soon as possible to get closer, while staying well out of the restricted area. I take a 270 heading, not directly towards the airbase as I don’t want to alarm the Blackjack air traffic controllers.

As I enter Tikaboo valley, with the straight ET highway (US 375) going north-west to Rachel and the Black Mailbox trail leading to the Area 51, I get a clearer view of the dry lake, the long runway and the various buildings.

I’m elated as this is something I wanted to see by myself, somewhere I wanted to come to for the last 15 years. And being there in this little Cessna, flying alone and wherever I may think of, it’s a dream come true.

It’s now time to turn a bit right to skirt the north-east corner of R4808. Bald mountain to my left hides the dry lakebed, then the main airbase. These are the last seconds for me to have a look at this most secret airbase. I don’t circle in the area because I don’t want to draw more attention. Having an F-16 escorting me away may be great for pictures, but this could be a sign that the sheriff is waiting for me on the ground, so that’s the last thing I want for now.
Approaching Rachel, I recognize Coyote Summit where I spent two long days this same week. And I’m now eager to discover from the air all the geographical report points the military pilots use during their Red Flag sorties. Over Rachel, I’ve got now a good view of No Name mountain, west of Bald Mountain. This lone butte is a good mark showing the northern frontier of Area 51, or the Container as the military pilots call it. They also have no right to penetrate that area and if they do, they’re sent back to their home airbase the next day with a bad grade for their career.

Farther west from No Name is Belted Peak, from where all the air-to-ground activity starts at Red Flag, and beyond it I can distinguish Quartzite Mountain, between the 74 ranges and the 75 ranges. I spent a lot of time studying the NTTR chart and reading about it ; that helps me identifying all these now.

I now turn east to my destination for the morning, Lincoln Co airport (Panaca town). This brings me just south of that long north-south Worthington range.

After a few minutes and an overhead of the Timpahute range mines, I overfly Irish mountain. This peak is used also by Blue Force pilots during Red Flag to report and prepare their collective and structures ingress towards the FEBA (or Forward Edge of the Battle Area).

I fly east over Hiko, hoping for a good tailwind on the return trip to Las Vegas. I’ve been having a headwind for the main 1.5 hours and the gas supply on the few Nevada airfields is scarce (Alamo and Lincoln has none for example). I now can see without any mistake a large gap in between two ridges : Pahroc Summit Pass, also known as Student Gap among Red Flag pilots. This is the main passage point for Blue Force pilots when it’s “push time”. It’s a lot better to be here in my Cessna during the weekend than during a Red Flag weekday.

After ten minutes, I see the small Lincoln Co airfield where I’ll have my lunch break, under the wing and in a 10 kts wind. The landing is uneventful and I find myself really alone on that parking. I’m amazed that nobody other than me, seems to enjoy the Nevada desert by plane, specially when you can be so close to where the most secret planes get tested.
The return trip is straight as gas is a bit of a concern for me, having already burnt 1.7 hours, with a total endurance of 4 hrs. 80 miles out of Las Vegas, I get my clearance for the Bravo airspace and after passing the mines and plants of Apex, north of Sin City, I request to overfly Nellis AFB. Nellis Approach grants it and I can approach the base at 6,500 feet. After some pictures, I’m asked to take a westerly heading to North Las Vegas and I comply.
These few seconds allowed me to get a good souvenir of the big military airbase: the cherry on the cake.

While you could spend your summertime beach bumming or exploring nature, maybe its time to pursue another true American pastime—visiting weird UFO sites. Although we are a serious journalistic entity and would never support the extraterrestrial theory of UFOs, here are some suggestions for you as you make the cosmic trip of a lifetime.
1. Kecksburg UFO
In 1965, Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, had its own Roswell when a bell-shaped craft blazed through the late afternoon before crashing into a nearby wood. Of course, it was immediately covered up by the military—or at least the legend goes—but not before the residents saw Egyptian-like hieroglyphics on the side as it was hauled off.
There was a protracted legal battle to find out what crashed in those woods, and strangely enough, Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta got wrapped up in the whole thing. Podesta has had a longstanding interest in UFOs and had been advocating for the release of Kecksburg documents since at least 2002.
Aliens, a failed Russian Venus probe, and even a Nazi aerospace vehicle have been implicated, but a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article points to the research of two Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) member points to an even more mundane explanation: a General Electric Mark 2 Re-entry Vehicle, a spy satellite launched by the U.S. Air Force, went off course, crashing into the woods.
Speaking of Roswell, the town of Roswell, New Mexico, is home to the International UFO Museum and Research Center, which is exactly what it sounds like. It's a kitschy monument to the 1947 crash of what was likely a spy weather balloon developed under something called Project Mogul, which was basically the Google Loon of highly classified nuclear weapons surveillance.
For the "That's what they WANT you to believe" crowd, a couple things to bear in mind: Roswell is near the White Sands Missile Range, aka the Trinity Site of the Manhattan Project.
Interestingly, from that day in July 1947 until the 1980s, no one within or outside of the UFO community remembered Roswell much until UFO researcher Stanton Friedman brought it to light. A documentary called Mirage Men puts forth the claim that the government engaged in deliberate disinformation campaigns to cover up weapons testing featuring a shifty reported government spook who claims he was paid to carry it out.
If you believe that aliens crashed at Roswell, then you likely know they were taken to Area 51. The official line is that it's a top secret weapons testing facility, where crafts like the U-2 bomber were first flown. Regardless of what you believe, you blow $200 of your hard earned Vegas-gambling money on an all-day tour around Area 51. Of course, you could skip that and just drive to the Extraterrestrial Highway yourself.
4. UFO Watchtower
In a tiny town called Hooper in south central Colorado, there's a platform built for staring skyward. According to the National UFO Reporting Center (visualized here by Max Galka), the watchtower has actually yielded "results."
Because the San Luis Valley in Colorado has been hotbed for reported UFO activity, the watchtower was an inevitability. Getting into the watchtower won't cost you an arm and a leg — a single admission fee is $2, a whole car is $5, and you can camp for $10. Be careful camping, cattle mutilations have been also been reported in the area.
5. Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport
In 1994, the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet crashed into Jupiter, sending up quite a fireworks show in the solar system. The Green River city council in Wyoming wanted to build a refuge for any Jovians wishing to flee, and thus rechristened their tiny blip of an airstrip the "Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport." For the most part, though, it's been used by humans. Sadly, Atlas Obscura says the sign designating it the Intergalactic Spaceport has since been removed (or stolen.)
6. UFO Welcome Center
In Bowman, South Carolina, a man named Jody Pendarvis built a trash castle monument to our alien overlords called the UFO Welcome Center. Pendarvis allows visitors to his rickety outsider art project. The idea reportedly struck him in the 1990s (sort of like the potato Devil's Tower in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but made out of sheet metal) and by Memorial Day 1999, it was open for business.
7. Little Green Men Festival
A farm near Kelly and Hopkinsville, Kentucky was the site of an ambush from above in 1955 when several goblin-like creatures reportedly descended on the house of Elmer Sutton. By the time authorities arrived, the visitors were gone though the occupants of the house were spooked by the encounter.
These days, Kelly plays host to the annual Little Green Men Festival, which falls on the third weekend of August every year, the same time as the encounter 62 years ago. This year, the festival happens to fall on the same day as a total solar eclipse sweeping the nation on August 21, the same day as the alleged encounter. Coincidence? Let's see what happens in Kelly that afternoon a few months away.
In other UFO/farmhouse related news, McMinville, Oregon, has its own UFO festival as well, aptly called UFO Fest. This year's event is set for May 18-21. McMinville was the site of one of the most famous UFO photos ever taken.
8.Alien Graves
In the 1890s, there were a rash of "mysterious airship" sightings, and like all good hokum, some of those allegedly crashed to the ground, including in Max, Nebraska. The good people of Aurora, Texas, reported one such landing, and the townsfolk did what was only right: gave the dead occupants a burial in an unmarked grave.
Some small town papers of the time didn't quite have the upstanding journalistic integrity of The New York Times and would, from time to time, throw in a bit of made up entertainment. That may well have been the case both in Max and Aurora, as subsequent investigations of the cemetery have turned up nothing.
9. Betty and Barney Hill
Betty and Barney Hill were driving through rural New Hampshire on the way back to Portsmouth when something happened. Under hypnosis, the couple claims they were abducted by aliens, becoming one of the first widely publicized cases.
Later termed the Zeta Reticuli incident, it's been a contentious story since, though a 1974 Astronomy article tried to take the incident seriously. Current editor-in-chief David J. Eicher tells of the story: "The well-known astronomy popularizer Terence Dickinson, then Astronomy's Editor, penned the article. It probably cost Terry his job, as he was gone from the magazine a few months later. Astronomy was just a year and a half old at the time, and this story set the fledgling magazine's credibility back a long way."
Though the Hills have since passed away, New Hampshire has erected a historic marker of the couple's encounter with...something.
10. Futuro House
In the 1960s, you didn't just have the chance to see UFOs in the sky — for the right price, you could live in one. The so-called Futuro Houses were a Finnish design meant to embrace modernity, but instead were regarding as something more of an eye sore. A few of them still exist today. Atlas Obscura has a map of the homes that still exist today and some remain in better shape than others.

A couple of years ago, Peruvian tomb robbers exploring the ancient tomb complex in the Nazca region found something startling.
The Nazca region is home to ancient tombs containing mummified human remains from the Inca civilization. These tombs have been studied for many years by scientists and archaeologists. The mummies are often in a sitting position and wearing clothing. They are thought to be individuals who were of high social standing in Inca society. Also, the Nazca region is home to the Nazca lines or glyphs. These are enormous images of people and animals which have been made by removing ground sediment, revealing lighter-colored earth underneath. They are thousands of feet long and cover hundreds of square miles. They are visible only from surrounding hills or from the air.
What the robbers found were mummies, mummified body parts and other objects which did not look human, nor did they resemble any known animal.
As the robbers probed the black market for interest in the remains, French archaeologist Thierry Jamin learned of them and began obtaining as many of the remains as possible. Jamin runs a crowdfunding collect called the Alien Project whose purpose is to learn as much about the nature and origin of the strange remains as possible. He is convinced they are of otherworldly origin and has recently managed to get them DNA-examined by independent laboratories.
The results of the DNA examinations have confirmed that the remains represent genuine biological remnants of individuals who have been deceased for centuries and that they are not a hoax. There is disagreement about the exact nature and origin of them. Some argue that the findings call into question long-standing assumptions about the history and origin of the people of South America.
Did people migrate to the Western Hemisphere from Europe or the Middle East centuries earlier than previously thought? Is there an extraterrestrial connection which would explain the strange nature of the remains? One thing is certain: More research is needed before we can be sure.

We keep probing space in search of aliens—but what if they’ve gone extinct?
If SETI is any indication, scientists have been extremely eager to detect biosignatures that could be signs of life beyond Earth. We live in an age where every methane molecule found on another moon or planet seems to go viral on Twitter. Yet there hasn’t been nearly as much interest in the far-out but possible theory that there could have been aliens floating around in our solar system -- and even crawling around on Earth -- before they either took off for other planets or were wiped out by some unexplained phenomenon. And no, Ancient Aliens doesn’t count.
Astronomy professor Jason Wright of Penn State University wants us to see the search for life from what some may consider a far-out point of view. The pursuit of biosignatures may be in the spotlight and all over the internet, but Wright is wondering whether the aliens most of the astronomical community is looking for in potentially habitable star systems, like TRAPPIST-1, have left behind something else. Technosignatures are basically evidence E.T. already phoned home. Think evidence of mining or materials that were artificially produced. Wright is not suggesting that he is convinced extinct or long-departed aliens exist or ever existed, but he does believe a thorough search for signs of extraterrestrial life should include technosignatures.
We could be missing signs of E.T.’s that have long since phoned home and left.
“One of the primary open questions of astrobiology is whether there is extant or extinct life elsewhere in the Solar System,” said Wright in a paper to be published in the International Journal of Astrobiology. Implicit in much of this work is that we are looking for microbial or, at best, unintelligent life, even though technological artifacts might be much easier to find.”
Where they would be easier to find, is the question. The impact of Earth’s erosion and plate tectonics over millions and even billions of years is likely to have erased potential technosignatures, though there could be secrets from space hidden deep in rock that is just as ancient. While Wright doesn’t completely cancel out our home base for exploration, there are more likely places in our solar system to find hypothetical signs of long-lost life. Eerie signs left by intelligent beings may still exist on objects such as moons and asteroids, whose subsurface environments would have had a much higher chance of preserving them in the face of meteor collisions and extreme radiation. Even Mars may have secrets hidden far beneath its barren surface.
“If a prior technological, perhaps spacefaring, species ever arose in the Solar System, it might have produced artifacts or other technosignatures that have survived to present day,” Wright theorized.
With Ridley Scott’s latest installment in his classic Alien franchise, now’s the perfect time to wildly speculate about extraterrestrials. In Alien: Covenant and so many other movies like it, our cosmic neighbors turn out to be real assholes. They’re always trying to conquer Earth, or eat humans, or do other weird shit, like hunt Arnold Schwarzenegger in the jungle. If you’re not Arnold Schwarzenegger, this usually ends pretty badly.
Alien: Covenant ostensiblypicks up where Prometheus left off, except it focuses on a different crew looking to colonize a planet. Unsurprisingly, once the crew encounters xenomorphs on that strange world, things go awry. According to io9's Germain Lussier, there’s nothing terribly original or scary about it, which is a bummer for fans of the space horror the original Alien movies were so good at evoking. It also begs a question: Is it time we finally move past this trope of humans getting slaughtered at the hands of an intelligent-yet-merciless extraterrestrial? On a scale from E.T. to War of the Worlds, how diabolical would intelligent aliens really be?
For answers, we caught up with Doug Vakoch, president of METI International—a group of scientists that attempt to communicate with extraterrestrial life by sending radio signals out into the void. As a literal alien hunter, Vakoch is very familiar with the subject matter—and the sci-fi movies that have so profoundly colored our perception of alien contact.
Gizmodo: Obviously, we haven’t found aliens. But if we did, do you think they’d be hostile? Indifferent? Maybe even a little nice?
Doug Vakoch: It’s tough to second-guess alien motivations. Often SETI scientists have assumed that extraterrestrials who have survived long enough to make contact will have overcome any warlike traits they had earlier in their evolution. If they haven’t learned to play nice with others, the reasoning goes, they won’t have survived the thousands or millions of years needed to be a stable interstellar civilization.
Perhaps rather than trying to anticipate with certainty what extraterrestrials will be like, we can accomplish more by playing out the various scenarios. For example, Steven Hawking has warned that we should not transmit messages to aliens, because they might come to our planet to strip mine it. But is that really realistic? I don’t think so. First of all, it makes no economic sense to travel across the galaxy to look for something you can find in your own cosmic backyard. Second, any civilization that has the ability to traverse the distances between the stars could already know were here, so we don’t expose ourselves to any additional dangers in transmitting intentional signals. But there is an upside to transmitting: we may just intrigue the extraterrestrials enough to get them to reply.
Gizmodo: Would aliens even be hypothetically interested in Earthlings?
DV: My favorite answer to the Fermi Paradox—if the aliens are out there, why haven’t we heard from them?—is that we haven’t been very interesting so far. Perhaps they are monitoring our TV and radio signals, and they’re just not very impressed. In the Zoo Hypothesis, we postulate that extraterrestrials may be like galactic zookeepers, watching our species as if we were animals in the cosmic menagerie. And so far, all they’re seeing is a bunch of animals talking to one another. But if you go to the zoo and all of a sudden one of the zebras turns directly toward you and starts pounding out a series of prime numbers with its hoof, all of a sudden you’ll have a very different relationship with that creature.
That’s what we’re hoping to do with METI—Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence. We want to let the aliens know that we’re interested in an interstellar conversation. It may just be that our taking the initiative is a prerequisite to learning they’re out there.
Gizmodo: What movie do you think gets it wrong the most when it comes to aliens? For example, I think Signs had the biggest plot hole of all time by making the aliens allergic to water, on a planet that’s full of it. What a bunch of stupid aliens!
DV: The movie about extraterrestrials that I hate the most has to be Species, because it violates a fundamental truth: it’s gonna be tough, if not impossible, to communicate with aliens.
The movie’s premise goes like this. SETI scientists get a reply back to the message transmitted by astronomers in 1974 from the Arecibo radio observatory in Puerto Rico, a three-minute interstellar message that gave a bare-bones overview of chemistry and our DNA. And I do mean bare-bones. In reality, any extraterrestrial receiving the message would be hard-pressed to understand that this low-resolution bitmap has anything to do with chemistry, and if they did understand every part of the message as it was intended, they would only have the most basic description of the chemical elements in human genetic material—how many atoms of hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus there are in the different sections of DNA. That’s it.
In Species though, the aliens are able to use the Arecibo message as a blueprint for reconstructing humans, and then go a step further, sending instructions for creating a human—alien hybrid. A supermodel hybrid played by Natasha Henstridge.
The other big scientific error in this movie? The alien reply to the Arecibo message came just a few years after the original message was sent from Puerto Rico. In reality, it will take 50,000 years to get a response, because the destination is a globular cluster of stars 25,000 light years from Earth.
Species does have one thing going for it. It anticipated the Chilbolton crop circle messages, found next to the Chilbolton radio telescope in the United Kingdom, where a modified version of the Arecibo message showed up overnight. Unfortunately, the Chilbolton message is no more compelling as evidence of real contact than the movie Species.
Gizmodo: Why do you think aliens are always really aggressive in sci-fi movies?
DV: In truth, peaceful aliens are kind of boring. We don’t watch Game of Thrones because everyone treats each other nicely. Conflict in fiction is engaging, and what better conflict than the threat of annihilation by marauding extraterrestrials?
But we pay a price for these dire visions of annihilation. They can have a serious impact on science. When Steven Hawking says “don’t transmit, because whenever a more advanced civilization meets a less advanced one, it’s a disaster for the less advanced,” that makes it all the harder to do METI.
It’s easy to dismiss alien invasion movies as simply amusing science fiction. But their impact is much greater. We have no concrete evidence of how extraterrestrials will behave, so to get guidance, we look toward Hollywood. When we’re trying to interpret ambiguous situations, we rely on what psychologists call the “availability heuristic.” We look at the vivid, available images in front of us, and that guides our reasoning.
What could be more vivid as we try to anticipate the nature of contacting extraterrestrials than the latest blockbuster in the Alien franchise? But does that make these images reliable or realistic? Nothing could be further from the truth.
Gizmodo: Do you think realistically we’ll find life somewhere in the next few decades?
The key to success in SETI—the search for extraterrestrial intelligence—is in looking at enough targets. We now know that virtually all stars have planets circling them, and perhaps as many as one in five star systems has a potentially habitable exoplanet at just the right distance from its star to support life. Or maybe more than one suitable planet, as in the TRAPPIST-1 star system. So there’s a lot of real estate out there where life may live.
On a related note, over the past few decades we have discovered that life can survive in the harshest of environments here on Earth—from the frozen tundra of the Arctic, to deep-sea hydrothermal vents, to acid hot springs, to the core of nuclear reactors. Once life get started, it’s tenacious. So we are all the more encouraged that life could survive on planets even radically different from Earth.
But will we ever search enough exoplanets to have success? In the next couple of decades, with the launch of the James Webb telescope, we may be able to image the atmospheres of exoplanets, giving us clues about the existence of indigenous microbial life. The search for extraterrestrial intelligence is also ramping up. At METI’s optical SETI observatory in Panama, we’ve already monitored thousands of stars for brief laser pulses, which would indicate advanced civilizations sending intentional messages our direction. So far, we’ve found no direct evidence of intelligence in the cosmos. But as this project develops, along with others, our chances increase dramatically with each passing year.
In the next decade, the Breakthrough Listen project plans to search for signals from civilizations circling one million stars, as well as a hundred other galaxies. With those kind of numbers, we have a reasonable chance of finding ET if they’re are out there and trying to make contact.
Gizmodo: What is your favorite alien from a sci-fi movie or TV show?
DV: When we choose our favorite extraterrestrial, it’s natural to think about who we would want to hang out with. A cuddly, caring ET? A consummately logical Spock? When we watch a movie, it’s natural to project ourselves into the action. I like the recent movie Arrival precisely because it did that—it brought the extraterrestrials to Earth—and yet the scientists in charge of understanding them had to struggle to make sense of their language. And that seems realistic to me.
The scientists in Arrival tried to attribute a positive, unthreatening image to these extraterrestrials by calling them Abbott and Costello, but these aliens never became Amy Adams’ best friends. And that’s the reality of contacting extraterrestrials. As in Arrival, our encounter with a radically Other civilization may force us to re-examine something as fundamental as our sense of time, but it’s never going to bring us in contact with a new best friend. For that, we need to reach out to others here on Earth.

According to a new book, Suffolk County has the highest number of UFO sightings in the state of New York, with most coming from the Oakdale, Islip and Great River areas.
Water plays a big part, said co-author Cheryl Costa.
“There’s an awful lot of traffic around water, so Long Island really was interesting,” Costa said.
Cheryl and Linda Costa spent 16 months researching UFOs across the country through two UFO reporting centers to write the book “UFO Sightings Desk Reference: United States of America 2001-2015.”
Cheryl told WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall that she has seen dozens of UFOs since she was 12 years old and if you’re looking, you can see one too.
“You have to get away from the light pollution of the city,” Costa said. “If you’re in a big city like New York City you’ve gotta go up on a high-rise and do it there, if you’re out in there country you gotta go up on a hill someplace and if you sit there and you’re patient they’re there, you’ll see them.”
We all know that dogs are man’s best friends, but could they also be our best UFO witnesses? With their vastly superior sense of hearing, smell, and ability to see in low light, perhaps every field investigator and researcher should consider getting a canine companion!
Over the years of collecting accounts of UFO activity from the tri-state region of the Hudson Valley of New York, northern New Jersey, and western Connecticut, I have heard numerous eyewitness accounts of how dogs alerted their owners or neighbors to a UFO. Generally, the dogs’ reactions are those of fear, accompanied by barking or howling. Such cases are frequent enough that NICAP has a separate classification (Category 4) for “Animal Effect Cases,” and MUFON had a Special Publication in 2005 entitled “Animal Reactions to UFOs.”

One of my favorite NICAP case involves “Thunder,” the 175-pound Great Dane who “went crazy” barking by the sliding doors toward the woods of his Sandy Hook, CT home at 8:30 pm on the night of March 31, 1983. After several minutes of incessant barking, his owner went to see what was causing Thunder so much distress. There was a massive V-shaped craft which remained hovering in the sky for 20 minutes. Thunder “appeared fearful and barked” the entire time, and the next day he refused to go outside. Anything that would provoke such fright in a 175-pound dog would certainly be enough to make me think twice about going outside!
I recently interviewed a woman from Cresskill, New Jersey who had a German Shepherd named Hans, who had a similar reaction back in 1968. Hans was just two years old; strong, and very protective of his owner. While walking Hans near a schoolyard, the woman and her friend spotted a dumbbell-shaped craft hovering silently over the school field. They were mesmerized by the sight, but their “trance was broken” by Hans, who was “cowering, trying to dig a hole in the dirt on the side of Rose Street (which was unpaved at that time) and whimpering.” This fearful reaction by the usually fearless dog caused them all to run for home.

Another dramatic case involved a golden retriever in Putnam Valley, NY in the fall of 1984. The witness, “Joe,” told me that one night his dog began to whine, so Joe assumed he wanted to go out. However, when he opened the back door, the dog began to tremble and whine even more. Joe finally got the dog outside, where he promptly curled up into a tight ball and whined in terror. It was then that Joe noticed the entire sky above him was blacked out.
A massive black triangle, “the size of two football fields,” was hovering no more than 250 feet above him. Yelling for his wife, she came out and was also stunned and frightened by what she saw. The craft “just sat there” over them for at least five minutes. A week later, strange figures began appearing by Joe’s bed at night, he developed uncontrollable nose bleeds, and this activity continued until the following summer when he finally decided to move out of his house. Perhaps Joe should have paid more attention to his dog!
Another case I just covered in my new book “More Hudson Valley UFOs” involved four witnesses on a hot, summer night in 1988. The four friends were by Lake DeForest in Congers, NY—a location I have written about on several occasions, and where I had my own intense experience. The dogs in the neighborhood “began howling crazily” and then an odd “snake-like” UFO appeared in the sky with alternating red and green lights composing the “body,” with a bright, white beacon at the “head.”
Throughout the sighting, the “Dogs were barking and howling and making a total racket,” one witness told me. Another witness described the incredible sounds as “The dogs of Rockland (County) going out of their skulls.” As dogs are capable of hearing at distances four times greater than humans, and can hear at much higher frequencies, can we conclude that these craft—which are often silent to us—are emitting sounds that are alerting our dogs to their presence long before they come into our view? Should investigators consider utilizing sound detectors in the roughly 20,000 to 60,000Hz range to replicate the superior capabilities that dogs have over us?
There were other cases of dog reactions with which I have dealt that may bear this sound theory out. During a cold winter’s night in 1985 in the town of Wallkill, NY, a man told me his dog “was barking frantically outside.” He tried several times to quiet the dog, to no avail. Then a 40-foot diameter sphere of multi-colored lights appeared over a field across the street. This bizarre craft, which looked like a “massive ball of Christmas lights” began rotating and moving, almost as if it was rolling down the field, only it definitely remained above the ground. After this craft “shot straight up into the air” and was gone, an enormous triangular craft passed directly over his house. How did the dog know these craft were in the area before they could be seen, and why was he so frightened by them?4
More recently, on January 4, 2013, a man in Pine Bush, NY, who works in law enforcement, couldn’t get his dogs to stop barking out in the yard. As he was trying to calm them down, he realized “There was something huge in the sky that blocked out all the stars.” The object was an incredibly large, silent rectangle at an altitude of about 200-250 feet. There were several white lights along the edges, one in the center, and one red light, as well.
Finally, there is the remarkable case from Monroe, NY in 1982. A woman, Donna, was in bed with her husband when her two Samoyed dogs “started going crazy” as if there were intruders in the house. Donna tried to wake up her husband, but he somehow remained in a deep sleep despite all the barking.
“Then there were these bright lights shining in the bedroom window, as if a Mack truck had just pulled up.” The next thing Donna knew was that it was morning. Her skeptical husband didn’t believe a word of what she told him about the dogs and the lights, and her being unable to awaken him—until he went outside to look for any signs that something had been there.
Running back in the house, white as a sheet, he told Donna that the huge pile of sand that was in the driveway (which was going to be used for a construction project) was completely gone. All that was left was a few concentric circles of sand which had been compressed and fused into the blacktop! Fortunately, they had the presence of mind to take photographs, so we can estimate the size of the outermost circle, which was about 12 feet in diameter. And while the original circles have been paved over, Donna told me that I would be welcome to uncover and study them, if I can find the appropriate scientific team to do it.
So what are we to learn from “man’s best friends” and their reactions to UFOs? They are able to sense a lot more than we are, and can sense whatever it is at greater distances and long before our eyes and ears can pick it up. Researchers and investigators should always include questions about witnesses’ pets, as well as inquire about the reactions of birds, livestock, wild animals such as deer, and insects.
There is more to UFO phenomena than we can probably imagine, but with the help of the faithful family dog, perhaps we can gain a little more insight and knowledge into the nature of the phenomena. And if your big, strong dog is terrified to go outside, maybe you should stay in the house, too!

Here are two extraordinary videos of UFOs that were reported to MUFON this week. One takes place a a soccer game in Pennsylvania and the other takes place in Florida. Both move extraordinarily fast and without flapping, pausing, or turning. The first UFO has an really strange shape and seems to be observing the players. The second craft is also odd. Nothing known has the speed of the craft in the second video, which was recorded by a drone. Its just mind blowing.

YouTube user Frank Zappa recorded a video of mysterious bright light in the sky for 2 minutes. UFO enthusiasts said that the footage is one of the clearest UFO videos in years. The videographer uploaded the clip to the video sharing site. Frank Zappa is a famous musician but has been dead for ten years, so it appears unlikely that the musician himself posted it.
According to the report, the UFO was flying overhead at 5:20 pm on Wednesday, May 3 in the California Desert. California has the most reported UFO sightings in the U.S. A new book “UFO Sightings Desk Reference,” analyzed over 120,000 reports of UFOs and determined more people in California believed they had come in contact with ET life than anyone else in the nation.
Many believe that the UFO video shows the real thing and not faked in any way. However, some linked the sighting to the nuclear weapons testing in North Korea. In 1950’s, an atomic bomb test done in Nevada also attracted hundreds of alien spacecraft. Some speculate that the reported UFO sighting could be the missile from Vandenberg or even the DPRK.
The book’s co-author Cheryl Costa said they found out that every county in the U.S. had at least one sighting in the past 15 years. Santa Clara County has the most number of sightings at 569 in Northern California. Alameda County in second with 578 reported sightings and San Francisco in third with 327 reports.
Phil Schneider has become known to the world after he told an amazing story of his encounter with extraterrestrial beings living underground while working as an explosives expert. He claimed to have helped the U.S. government in building secret underground bases in 1979 in Dulce, N.M.
Schneider further claimed there was a battle with aliens in August 1979 and he was one of the three survivors. He is the only person so far with a high-level security clearance revealing details on the knowledge of the government of alien beings.
Two years before his death in 1997, he was very vocal against the government for keeping people in the dark. He gave various talks detailing his experiences about the alien base and battle.
Schneider claimed many attempts to silence him after he started talking what he experienced. He reportedly died by suicide in 1997, but his supporters suspected it was not the case.
Schneider said that he saw so many Special Forces Green Berets around the camp in the underground base he was helping to build. The work team reportedly drilled four large holes to start the construction. Schneider revealed in a lecture at the Preparedness Expo in 1995 that all the black sooty air came up when they drilled the holes there. He went underground to assess the area, but he found himself just feet away from a 7-foot-tall alien called the big gray.
Schneider described the stench as worse than the worst garbage can, and the entity was horrible. He fumbled for a pistol that was with him at that moment and killed two of the aliens, but one of them managed to emit a mysterious and harmful energy. The alien had made a circular motion with his hand and waved it in front of his chest. Then a blue beam hit Schneider and opened up like a fish.
The beam burned off some of his fingers on the left hand hit his chest and burned his shoes and toenails.
A Green Beret saved Schneider’s life and the former got the latter into a lift and pushed the button to raise him up to safety.
Schneider said that more than 60 people lost their lives that day, including the Green Beret who saved him. He further revealed that the other two survivors were in nursing homes in Canada, protected by the Canadian government that no American citizens were allowed to access them. The two survivors were scared of being kidnapped, according to Schneider.
Schneider also revealed that wars under have been going on since that time. He was referring to 1,477 underground bases in different parts of the world, and 129 of which were in the U.S.
Ok, it’s been a while since I uploaded a new video to my channel. I had to do some research of my own in order to find out the truth about this phenomena. I went to area 51 with a couple of fellow UFO enthusiasts. We captured this interesting footage. This object appeared out of nowhere. It started to move faster until it reached an incredible speed. It did not make any sound, no sonic boom. It was only after the video analysis we noticed a second and even a third object in the video. We don’t know what this object was. Like I said it was captured just outside the border of area 51. What could it be?
On Sept. 15, 2017, NASA's Cassini spacecraft will take a suicide plunge into Saturn to avoid contaminating the ringed planet's potentially habitable moons, Titan and Enceladus.
Cassini's fate is tied to the issue of planetary protection, which refers to the measures scientists and engineers take to minimize that chances that life-forms from Earth make it to other worlds. And with NASA's Mars 2020 rover planning to cache samples to one day return to Earth's labs, planetary protection also means making sure that our own world is safe from contamination by possible alien life.
Planetary protection was the first item on the agenda at the Astrobiology Science Conference, which was held last week in Mesa, Arizona. Chemists, biologists, planetary scientists, astronomers and other researchers all vigorously discussed the issue at the meeting's first session on Monday morning (April 24). "Planetary protection has never been more important to consider," said Andrew Maynard, a researcher at Arizona State University's Risk Innovation Lab, who led the discussion.
Citing Mars sample return, an upcoming mission to Jupiter's ocean-harboring moon Europa and possible future probes that could visit other icy satellites, Maynard engaged the audience of scientists with the stated intent of changing how they think about the process. Maynard, who is not an astrobiologist but a physicist, turned the attention of the room to studies on risk assessment, urging researchers to consider risk not as something to be avoided but rather as "a complex landscape to be moved through to reach goals."
He also said that analyzing the risk of contamination, either of Earth or another world, isn't the exclusive purview of any particular group of scientists — or of scientists in general.
"Everybody has got some stake," Maynard said.
PROTECTING THE EARTH
Concern about contamination has been part of exploration since the dawn of the Space Age. The first three sets of astronauts to land on the moon were kept in isolation on their return to Earth to ensure they hadn't brought any pathogens home with them. [NASA's 17 Apollo Moon Missions in Pictures]
Before NASA's Viking 1 and Viking 2 landers were sent to Mars to hunt for life, they were sterilized to minimize the odds that Earth microbes could contaminate their experiments. The robotic explorers that followed were similarly cleansed. And in 1967, the countries of the world agreed that their space missions would work to avoid contaminating Earth or other worlds, making planetary protection an international goal.
The moon rocks returned by Apollo astronauts soon revealed Earth's natural satellite as a barren, inhospitable place unsuitable for life. The comets and asteroids sampled by past and ongoing missions have already polluted Earth's surface, and NASA has deemed these objects unlikely to harbor life.
But Earth has received relatively few samples from Mars in the form of meteorites. While some scientists think that life could have started on the Red Planet and then hitched a ride to Earth, the issue is far from certain. So, when it comes to returning samples from Mars, space agencies will take great care not to infect Earth.
According to NASA procedural requirement NPR 8020.12: "Unless the sample to be returned is subjected to an accepted, approved, sterilization process, the sample container must be sealed after sample acquisition, and a redundant, fail-safe containment with a method for verification of its operation before Earth-return shall be required."
The requirement also states: "The mission and the spacecraft design shall provide a method to 'break the chain of contact' (BTC) with Mars. No uncontained hardware that contacted Mars, directly or indirectly, may be returned to Earth unless sterilized."
But scientists are still debating just what the biggest concerns are. Maynard's presentation, which involved randomly polling audience members and engaging them in debate, revealed that many of the scientists involved in studying how life could evolve beyond Earth disagree on just how much we need to worry about contamination.
Although the Martian surface appears bereft of life, some researchers think microbes might still exist underground. A sample-return mission could therefore theoretically carry living organisms back to Earth along with rocks and dirt. Whether a Martian microbe could survive on our planet remains a subject of heavy debate.
For instance, during the discussion period, Vladimir Airapetian, a researcher at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, argued that a living thing that evolved on Mars shouldn't be able to find a place on Earth because all of the planet's biological niches have been filled.
But Benjamin Wolf of Washington University in St. Louis disagreed. "I don't like the argument that we think the niches are taken," he said, citing the success that many invasive species on Earth have had when pushing into previously occupied niches.
"People didn't realize that kudzu would take over the entire South," Wolf said, describing the Japanese vine that has blanketed the southern United States since its 1876 introduction. "We need to understand that sometimes scientists don't know things."
Geochemist Stuart Bartlett, of the Tokyo Institute of Technology's Earth-Life Science Institute, also expressed concern about potentially bringing home organisms able to survive in the extreme conditions on Mars.
"Backwards contamination seems like a more natural candidate for spreading exponentially and invading," Bartlett said.
But Maynard doesn't think that scientists should be the only participants in the discussion. He encouraged opening a dialogue with the public, who would also be affected if a harmful organism were returned to Earth. With most of the world unversed in the potential hazards, Maynard encouraged scientists to do a better job of communicating potential issues, a process that would allow everyone to work together to make an informed decision.
He pointed to the opening of the Large Hadron Collider, a particle accelerator along the France-Switzerland border whose activation some feared would create a microscopic black hole with the potential to destroy Earth. While this risk was considered marginal, Maynard pointed out that the improbable disaster would have a worldwide effect, and that scientists included society in the discussion in a reasonable fashion. (No black hole destroyed Earth when the accelerator was switched on, of course.)
When it comes to sample-return missions, scientists need to determine just how large the threat of extraterrestrial contamination might loom, Maynard said.
"It seems like we have a huge diversity of opinion whether alien life is able to survive on Earth," he said.
CONTAMINATING MARS
During the April 24 discussion, scientists also debated the threat exploration missions pose to the pristine environment of Mars and other worlds. Red Planet rovers and landers are kept in strict isolation throughout their construction, which takes place in clean rooms around the world. Components are sterilized to the best ability of current technology, but researchers stress that it's impossible to kill every microbe aboard any craft.
The concern with carrying micro-organisms abroad is twofold. One issue involves the possibility of interfering with experiments designed to hunt for life on another world. If a terrestrial microbe hitched a ride, it could be picked up by the mission's tests, causing scientists to wrongly believe they had discovered alien life. Such a mistake, while disappointing in itself, could also affect how people around the world view scientists, participants in the April 24 session said.
"If NASA spent $5 billion on a life-detection mission and discovered life from Earth, then the loss of public trust would really shoot up," said Linda Billings, a researcher at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
A terrestrial organism traveling to another world via spacecraft also has the potential to infect that world, overwhelming or driving out any existing life. Many of the commenters who didn't think Martian microbes would flourish on Earth also seemed to believe that terrestrial life would be unlikely to thrive on the Red Planet, because of the considerable differences between the two worlds' environments.
But that's just speculation. And even if life from one world wouldn't last long on the other, it's important to keep things clean for the sake of understanding science, researchers at the session said.
"We need to save the Mars questions for Mars and the Earth questions for Earth," one person in the room said.
The desire to keep Mars free from Earth-based contamination could have serious implications when it comes to sending people to the Red Planet. Humans don't live in isolation; we carry a fleet of micro-organisms everywhere we go, and these tiny creatures outnumber our own cells about 10 to 1.
"If we send humans anywhere, we contaminate the planet, because we're dead if we're sterile," said one commentator. So, human exploration could lead to a conflict with planetary protection.
Not everyone agrees that humans would automatically contaminate the Red Planet, however. John Rummel, an astrobiologist at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and former NASA Planetary Protection Officer, told the room that he doesn't think there has to be a conflict.
"I don't think it's an all-or-nothing game," Rummel told Space.com. Human exploration could be incremental, he said, with the first explorers making only the most cautious steps outside of their habitation.
NASA and other government agencies aren't the only organizations that seek to put boots on Mars. For example, last September, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk unveiled his company's plan to help establish a million-person city on the Red Planet.
Even if such efforts succeed, they won't necessarily cause native Mars life to be swamped by microbes from Earth, Rummel said — especially if Red Planet organisms exist only underground, where they're shielded from harmful radiation.
"Musk is not going to have tourists interfering with the deep Martian subsurface," Rummel said.

Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell’s claims he knows for sure UFOs are real, that there is an alien presence visiting the Earth (and the space around us) and the U.S. government has been aware of it for several decades. The sixth man to walk on the moon stated, “My own experience talking to people has made it clear the ETs had been attempting to keep us from going to war and help create peace on Earth.”
NASA photos show gigantic artificial structures – suggesting the Moon is being used as a base, and possibly a staging area, by a mysterious race of alien beings. We heard from experts, as well as astronauts who walked on the moon, and revealed new facts and proof of artificial alien structures. NASA photos show the undeniable existence of what look like installations, factories, hangers and huge satellite dishes. Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin revealed that a UFO followed his spacecraft for three days on its way to the historic moonwalk. Towers rise up from the lunar surface, higher than anything made on Earth. · Extensive “pipelines” cross over crater rims, and bridges span massive lunar canyons and there is evidence of mining. Russian Space Agency lunar orbiter photos show a huge “spire” clearly sticking straight up from the Moon’s surface, as well as a partially destroyed “dome.”

Astronauts and NASA personnel have revealed that UFOs and aliens were seen when we landed on the Moon. The attached face gives you an idea of their appearance that is part of a Moon structure near the South Pole region.

As you can see, there are two glowing UFOs in the distance far behind the astronauts on the Apollo 15 mission. The Apollo 15 mission was the fourth mission to walk on the moon. The UFOs were bright and similar to a lot of the UFOs seen around Earth daily.
They have also been seen over Temple Rock and the mountains of Denver, Colorado. This is 100% evidence that Astronauts did see UFOs during the moon walks. Reports indicate the craft landed near the astronauts and the aliens walked around their craft but did not appear aggressive.
David Scott and James Irwin flew their LM to a perfect landing at 6:16 P.M. EDT July 30, at Hadley Rille. Landing approach over the Apennine Range – one of the highest on the moon – was at an angle of 26 degrees, the steepest approach yet used in Apollo missions.
During three periods of extravehicular activity, or EVA, on July 31, and August 1 and 2, 1971, Scott and Irwin completed a record 18 hours, 37 minutes of exploration, traveled 17.5 miles in the first car that humans have ever driven on the moon, collected more than 170 pounds of lunar samples, set up the ALSEP array, obtained a core sample from about 10 feet beneath the lunar surface, and provided extensive oral descriptions and photographic documentation of geologic features in the vicinity of the landing site during the three days (66 hours, 55 minutes) on the lunar surface.
On August 2, 1971, LM Falcon fired its ascent stage engine and lifted off the moon for its rendezvous with command module, and put Apollo 15 on its path back to Earth.
UFO Crashes into the Arctic Sea

A UFO crashed through the Arctic ice 6 years ago, and has been operating in the Arctic sea ever since, according to newly released documents made available from State Dept. e mails, by way of the FSB’s Wikileaks division.
The villagers of Igloolik, Nunavut were asleep when a streak quickly crossed the sky and struck the ice with a bang. 200 villagers came out their doors, but there was nothing to see except black water steaming and bubbling through a round, 10 meter hole in the ice. It was a night late in November 2010 and no one wanted to linger long outside in the middle of a dark night. The truth of what had happened was almost unimaginable.

This is not the first time that the Canadian Navy has been forced to investigate UFO phenomena. The Shag Harbor UFO incident was the reported impact of an unknown large object into waters near Shag Harbor, a tiny fishing village in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia on October 4, 1967. At least eleven people saw a low-flying lit object head towards the harbor at about 11:20 p.m… Multiple witnesses reported hearing a whistling sound “like a bomb,” then a “whoosh,” and finally a loud bang. The object was never officially identified, and was therefore referred to as an unidentified flying object (UFO) in Government of Canada documents. The initial report was made by local resident Laurie Wickens and four of his friends. Driving through Shag Harbor they spotted a large object descending into the waters off the harbor.
Once at a better vantage point, Wickens and his friends saw an object floating 1000 feet offshore. Wickens contacted the RCMP detachment and reported he had seen a large airplane or small airliner crash into the waters off Shag Harbor. The Canadian military became involved in a subsequent rescue/recovery effort. Assuming an aircraft had crashed, within about 15 minutes, 10 RCMP officers arrived at the scene as the object started to sink and disappeared from view.
But by the next morning, the RCMP had determined that no aircraft were missing. Divers allegedly claimed they spotted a UFO conducting repairs at the bottom of harbor. The cause of the incident was never solved by the Canadian authorities.

Trump Orders Complete Disclosure of UFO Data Kept by CIA in Area 51
As he spoke to astronauts on the International Space Station on Monday, President Donald Trump has ordered the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency to review and release all files concerning space aliens and Unidentified Flying Objects or UFOs.
Trump promised to take this step in his inaugural speech. He said: “We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the Earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow.
“A new national pride will stir our souls, lift our sights, and heal our divisions.”
It comes as a surprising development to some, as Trump hasn’t commented on the issue of extraterrestrial life and has never before specifically said that confidential UFO sighting papers should be released. Talking to Astronaut Peggy Whitson on the ISS, however, Trump recommitted NASA to a Mars mission during his second term, i.e. the early 2020’s.
During her campaign Hillary Clinton made it clear she would do all she could to release secret files on UFO’s. Of course, her husband Bill Clinton made the same promise and never did. The truth is still out there.
Commander Bethune VIP Pilot Saw UFOs
Commander Graham Bethune is a retired Navy Pilot and a good friend. During his 26 years of active duty he qualified in over 100 different models of aircraft.
In February 5, 1951, he and two other Navy Pilots were sent to Keflavik, Iceland on a Secret mission to meet with the Icelandic Government and Lockheed Overseas, who managed the Airport.
On February 10, 1951, while Piloting a four engine Navy R5D Transport returning from Keflavik, to Argentia, Newfoundland, he had an eight minute encounter with an “Unidentified Flying Object” that was 300 feet in diameter. The first chapter of Major Keyhoe’s book “Flying Saucers Top Secret” is devoted to this famous encounter.
During the Disclosure Project, Commander Bethune revealed his Flight 124 from Keflavik, Iceland was involved with a near miss of a UFO in 1951, about 300 miles outside of Argentia, Newfoundland, over the Atlantic Ocean flying a R5D aircraft. Here is Graham’s account of his sighting.
“My name is Graham Bethune. I am a commander, retired pilot from the Navy and I went through the regular Navy program of training pilots. I graduated in 1943 from Pensacola Academy Air. All Navy pilots are trained navigators, which is very important because we had to know all of the star system. I navigated maybe 13 years around the planet with the stars. And when I first graduated from Pensacola in 1943 I went to the South Atlantic and we were hunting German submarines. This was all night flying.”
When we landed at Argentia, an Air Force officer interrogated us and showed us photos of UFOs asking me to choose the type we had seen. He made a good report, which went to the headquarters of the Air Force in Washington, D.C.
Commander Bethune flew Naval Transports for 12 years, and was a “VIP Transport Plane Commander,” and held a “Top Secret” clearance. He was a test pilot and served six years with the Naval Bureau of Aeronautics. He accumulated over 10,000 Navy and civilian flying hours. He flew the Secretary of the Navy, Secretary of the Army, Chief of Naval Operations, Commandant of the Marine Corps, the Supreme Allied Commander, and the NATO Commander Admiral Lynde McCormick, and numerous admirals. If a UFO crashed or an important meeting concerning UFOs occurred he would be chosen to pilot the VIPs to their destination.
Commander Bethune mentioned he flew high ranking officers to Utah where a 100 foot’ in diameter and slightly oval craft had crashed. There were US Air Force, Army and Navy officers in attendance as well as scientists and academics from various stateside universities. Both discs were retrieved and brought back to Wright Patterson.
Col. Donald Ware shared, “Graham personally told me that he flew General George Marshall and high ranking Naval personal and scientists to two crash retrievals – one in Iceland and one in Utah.Frank Chili sent me this photo that was given to him by Commander Bethune. He was quite insistent that US Air Force was getting the focus of UFO attention from the public, but the real player in this and always behind the scenes was the US Navy. Graham was informed by Admiral Forney himself and Graham never doubted that a ploy was set-up to divert attention away from the Navy. Graham also claimed we had a base on the moon and we had a Navy space shuttle fleet. He felt truth is often stranger than science fiction that ET movies are supported by the government to create acceptance.
Graham confide in Donald M. Ware, Lt Colonel USAF (Ret), who was for ten years Florida State MUFON Director and former Eastern Regional Director — then 18 years as a Director of the International UFO Congress. They discussed Alien-Human Hybrids, underground bases, and the levels of consciousness to contact alien spirits.
Lt. Colonel Donald Ware mentions that Commander Bethune had informed Ware that he had flown Admiral Byrd to Antarctica in 1945 in a secret mission. On this flight were US Navy high ranking personnel, British Naval officers/scientists and some US scientists.
Prior to World War II the Germans had disc technology provided by Off Planet Visitors. The Germans weaponized the discs by putting machine guns and cannons on the craft. ‘
However, the Visitors interceded stating – that this technology violated a prime directive – that it could not be used for purposes of warfare. The Visitors told the Germans that they could use this technology but not for World War II and were given the option of moving the discs to a base in Antarctica, which is what they did with Hitler’s approval.
When Admiral Byrd reached Antarctica he attempted to negotiate with the German scientists to participate in a cooperative sharing their advanced technologies!
The meetings went very badly and the Germans absolutely refused to share any technology with the US and British governments.
Graham told Colonel Ware that Admiral Byrd needed to get this awful turn of events back to the Pentagon – to report directly to those who tasked Byrd with this mission.
Graham flew Byrd back to the Pentagon, wherein he told of the non-cooperation by the Germans.
The resulting failure of that initial meeting with the Germans in Antarctica set into motion the gears for a naval military action to force the Germans to share the technology.
Operation Highjump, officially titled The United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946–1947, was a United States Navy operation organized by Rear AdmiralRichard E. Byrd, Jr., USN Officer in Charge. Task Force 68 was led by Rear Admiral Richard H. Cruzan, USN. Operation Highjump commenced 26 August 1946 and ended in late February 1947. Task Force 68 included 4,700 men, 13 ships, and 33 aircraft. The Navy claims Operation Highjump’s primary mission was to establish the Antarctic research base Little America
Highjump’s objectives, according to the U.S. Navy report of the operation, were
Training personnel and testing equipment in frigid conditions;
Consolidating and extending the United States’ sovereignty over the largest practicable area of the Antarctic continent (publicly denied as a goal even before the expedition ended).
Determining the feasibility of establishing, maintaining, and utilizing bases in the Antarctic and investigating possible base sites;
Allegedly the Task Force was attacked and took heavy casualties. Naval ships and personnel were withdrawn back to the United States in late February 1947, and the expedition was terminated due to the early approach of winter and worsening weather conditions. Graham did not participate himself in the action of Highjump himself.
Admiral Byrd discussed the lessons learned from the operation in an interview with Lee van Atta of International News Service held aboard the expedition’s command ship the USS Mount Olympus. The interview appeared in the Wednesday, March 5, 1947 edition of the Chilean newspaper El Mercurio and read in part as follows:
Admiral Richard E. Byrd warned today that the United States should adopt measures of protection against the possibility of an invasion of the country by hostile planes coming from the Polar Regions. The admiral explained that he was not trying to scare anyone, but the cruel reality is that in case of a new war, the United States could be attacked by planes flying over one or both poles.
This statement was made as part of a recapitulation of his own polar experience, in an exclusive interview with International News Service. Talking about the recently completed expedition, Byrd said that the most important result of his observations and discoveries is the potential effect that they have in relation to the security of the United States.
“The fantastic speed with which the world is shrinking – recalled the admiral – is one of the most important lessons learned during his recent Antarctic exploration. I have to warn my compatriots that the time has ended when we were able to take refuge in our isolation and rely on the certainty that the distances, the oceans, and the poles were a guarantee of safety.”
Colonel Ware claims a new disclosure campaign with military aviation is involved. Most people are not aware yet that between 1943 and 1947 the US Government, with the help of our British and Canadian allies and the Ambassador from Venus and 450 of his trained engineers built 500 discs with gravity motors in a hidden 300 square-mile valley in British Columbia, Canada.

UFO Near ISS
On April 29, 2017, at around 21:06 g.m.t for 15 seconds during a live stream of the International Space Station I observed a faint light which got lighter before appearing as two whitish lights before materializing into what I can only describe as a “flying saucer” the event. Marpha Light Explained by a Plasma Engineer
Sharon and Gerald her husband investigated the Marpha Lights in the late 1990s, and had some close calls. One time a light appeared near them, and began to chase them in their SUV as they raced along dirt roads to get away from it. These are very hot and dangerous plasma lights, that can kill, burn and injure as lightning can. The problem was that they always appeared far enough away that by the time an investigator got close in his car, the show was over. So Jim Bunnell got landowner permission to put cameras mounted on sheds or on poles near where they showed up. These were surrounded by fences to keep cattle and people out, and had an internet dish on top. He put a lot of money and time into this project. He could remotely operate the cameras, and had sensors that automatically turned the cameras to wherever lights appeared. He ultimately got geologic data that showed a deep fault runs across the region where the lights appear, and concluded that energy following the magnetic lines of the magnetosphere interacted with deep electrical energy in the fault, and caused “ball lightning” to form in the atmosphere near the ground. Bunnell was a NASA and aerospace engineer, who were convinced that all UFO lights were natural atmospheric phenomena that he wouldn’t look at my evidence which showed that some sightings were physical objects operated by intelligent life. Alien visitation scared him.
Mothman Returns
Three separate witnesses in the Chicago area reportedly spotted an enormous flying creature that some have likened to the legendary Mothman entity.
According to Roger Marsh of MUFON, who received the reports, the sightings all occurred during a four-hour period on an evening in mid-April. The first known appearance of the creature occurred around 10 PM when the initial witness says that she and her husband as well as a pair of friends noticed what looked like an enormous bat flying over them while they were out on Lake Michigan. She speculated that the monstrous flying beast was around six-and-a-half feet long and possessed eerie eyes that glowed in the moonlight. Although the mysterious creature departed rather quickly, the group then saw a bright green UFO skim across the sky.
They had an overwhelming sensation of dread. Thirty minutes later when a group of people noticed a huge owl-like creature that looked to be six feet tall and had glowing red eyes. The scene was so strange that they speculated that it could have been a Lechuza, which is a legendary shape shifting entity in Mexico that transforms from an old woman into an owl.
In the final report, a man and his co-workers saw the creature at around 2 AM,. The flying ‘thing’ was nearly seven feet tall and was jet black aside from bright yellow eyes. The creature made everyone feel “very uneasy” and some co-workers actually threw rocks at it! Although the reports could be hoaxes, last year Chicago had 700 murders and in 2017 has 200.
Mothman has often been associated with tragedy. For example, Mothman sightings continued for months in Point Pleasant, West Virginia and came to a head on December 15, 1967, with the tragic collapse of the Silver Bridge. Forty-six people died when the bridge collapsed, which connected to Gallipolis, Ohio. Speculation is that Mothman may provide warning or actually create the deaths.
A man called into the WSAZ News station this past Sunday to report that he saw the Mothman while driving on Route 2 in Point Pleasant WV. The man, who only recently moved to the city, was not aware of the legend prior to snapping three photos. In 1975, John Keel wrote in The Mothman Prophecies that “there would be many changes in the lives of those touched by” Mothman, and a “few would even commit suicide.” Mary Hyre and Ivan Sanderson were named in John Keel’s book as having died before the tenth anniversary of his Mothman investigations. There have been many strange deaths of people who have seen the Mothman. Investigator Gray Barker noted in Spacecraft News #3, in 1966, that when he was investigating Mothman near Point Pleasant, he found a note on his door with this message, “ABANDON YOUR RESEARCH OR YOU WILL BE REGRET. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.” Shockingly Close to the Truth, Barker died on December 6, 1984, at age 59 from the simultaneous failure of various organs, in a Charleston, West Virginia, hospital.
The film stars Richard Gere as John Klein, a reporter who researches the legend of the Mothman.

Arizona Light
Yuma — Sitting outside on the porch I looked up and saw blinking light on April 24, 2017, .I thought I saw it moving was not sure but I use the telephone pole and wires to use as a guide to make sure I was seeing it move.
I was not afraid; In fact I was talking to it to come closer so I could see it better. It moved down and then going left and out of sight, very slowly. About 8:15 PM. I am still going outside and still see it. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Arkansas Lights
Bay — Arriving to work under the overcast with no visible lights in sky on May 3, 2017, until I noticed a very bright solid orange light traveling north. At first thought was an airplane but it was strange looking so I pulled over to observe it. The object stopped and hovered as I took two pictures. As I drove to work the object was moving and appeared above me. I asked a coworker to look at the object with me. During this time the object dimmed out completely but then brightened back up three times. I had to go into work but two hours later the sun was up and the object was very high up reflecting the sun off of it. California Object
San Jose— I went outside around 3 AM staring at the sky on May 2, 2017. I noticed a star moving around and realized there were more moving lights. Some were larger than others and it seemed like the smaller ones were connected to the larger ones and kind of blue. I noticed that the movements of the two were matching. Foggy clouds came rolling in from the north that looked like the smaller blue objects were dissipating the clouds. I sat and watched all this for an hour and noticed three orange-ish shapes close to the ground towards downtown. I looked around the whole sky and these orbs were all over. They were like bubbles about 20 feet above my head. They looked like transparent chrome/gold spheres with a huge white light hovering just above the East Hills. Now one of those orbs was following me closer only15 feet above my head. If I looked away it would go higher but while I walked around, it would cruise back down closer to me. I crossed through a gate with power lines around it and it disappeared. The light above the mountain started to ascend real slow, getting a little smaller. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Miami– I got home from work around 2:25 AM, and happened to look to the south and noticed a flashing light with colors on April 17, 2017. It was dancing around so I got my phone and started to record and watched for a minute and 30 seconds. There were no planes or helicopters around. Franklin Park — My husband and I stepped out on the deck to smoke a cigarette and I noticed a red light coming in real fast from the north on April 28, 2017. These were no airplanes, as planes make a lot of noise and when these were present it was quiet. We stood there staring at these lights trying to figure out what we were seeing. Maryland Disappearing Cylinder
Gambrills — Between 7:35-7:40 am, on the morning of April 27, 2017, as I was driving north on I-97 halfway between Annapolis and the MD-32 exit, I saw a long, reddish-brown, pencil-shaped cylindrical object that appeared to have been launched,” and was ascending slowly into the sky. This object appeared to be about five miles straight ahead of me, and approximately 1000 feet in the air and climbing slowly. Beneath it appeared to be a black plume of smoke; within the smoke were flashing lights. As I was staring at this object, a passing cloud obscured it completely. I was waiting for it to reappear, but when the cloud passed, the object had completely vanished.

Largo, Maryland— I was on my way home on January 11, 2017 at 1:20 am driving on Harry S Truman Drive. I first spotted it about 700 feet away and maybe 40 feet high just above the tree line. It was just hovering above a vastly wooded area. There were flashing lights what looked like on every corner of the object sometimes white green or red. While I was filming the video I noticed it started to descend a little more below the tree line as if it were trying to hide. I put my window down to get a better image and I noticed the sound that it made was not typical of any aircraft that I’ve ever heard. It was very quiet and had a machine type of sound but no sound of propellers or jets. I saw sporadic flashes of light hitting the wooded area very fast. After I made a u turn to try and get closer it was no longer visible. Since a child I’ve always believed in UFO’s but never thought that I would see one…what was it that I really was seeing. Bridgewater — I just got home at night and I looked up at the sky on April 4, 2017, when I noticed the object, I was surprised to see an oval-triangular object. The object was moving west to east. When it got over my house, it hovered for a while. I looked at it, for a long time. After a few minutes I went inside and when I looked outside it had vanished. I was a little surprised, but it didn’t really scare me. It looked similar to a UFO that I have seen before. The object was more triangle than oval. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Florham Park — I was walking through my office park on April 28, 2017, when I saw a craft in the air to the right of the runway. It wobbled up to a height about 500 feet above the runway, and then hovered briefly. After hovering it appeared to get smaller. I photographed the craft with my Nikon D3200 and 200 millimeter lens. It was a clear day so I managed to get a picture during its hovering that is clear. There was no noise from the craft. There was no chatter on the air traffic control regarding planes out of the pattern, balloons, drones, etc. Planes continued to take off and land with no issues or acknowledgement of the craft. Texas Light
Laredo — My son and I were driving on Highway 59 about 8:15 pm, on 24 March 2017. We noticed three large bright white horizontal lights in the distance. The lights were in a straight line and not offset slightly in relation to each other. The object was traveling due east towards us. I told my son to look at it as it had no red or white flashing lights that would indicate some type of aircraft. I told him it looked like a UFO. As we passed the firing range on the outskirts of Laredo it appeared to be fixing to fly over us. It was very large and I thought I was going to get a good look at it. I told my son to video tape it. He started videotaping the object as it turned north and flew over the highway as it descended towards the lake and out of sight over the buildings. The white lights never flashed and were almost blinding they were so bright. My girlfriend’s brother works at the airport and has never seen anything like it. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Ostend, Flanders — I was flying from London to Helsinki at night in a Finnair Airlines plane on March 1, 2017. Then I saw three bright lights. First I thought they were stars, but then I noticed that the lights outlined a black triangle. The triangle hovered and went in a different direction. Then the lights went out and I couldn’t see the triangle anymore. The rest of the flight was normal. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Oshawa, Ontario — While outside on my deck on Sunday, April 23, 2017 I was admiring clearer skies and looking about for anything unusual. After about one hour I noticed about a quarter mile away directly to the west a very high -slow bright white flashing objects. The intensity of brightness was high and low without the flashing you would not see it being so high. I started to film on high zoom at 10:35 am. Albano Laziale — I was having a cigarette on the terrace of my wife’s parents home on April 29, 2017, in a little country town close to Rome. I looked up the sky and I saw a big storm of lights at 11:10 pm. There were more than 30/35, moving in the sky from NE to SW. They made no noise, moving in circles and going up. The lights were white with a little reflex of blue. I had the clear sensation they were controlled by some entity because of the movements they made, like they had a plan. I was surprised and scared at the same time: I got my iPhone and took a picture and a little video. I called my wife’s father and a friend who were surprised as I was. The sighting was recorded on May 1, 2017, while flying over Ireland en route to Orlando, Florida from Manchester, England. The flight number was Condor Flight MT 2604 owned by Thomas Cook Airlines. The object was observed while cruising at 38,000 feet. The object emitted a strange black trail and tended to change shapes. I have to say I was a bit stunned because I did not know what it was. Philippines Object
Angeles City Pampamga Province — First I will state that being a U.S. Marine, I’m a trained observer. I had already been well awake by 3 am and had coffee and was on the computer, when at 5:40 am, I heard my dogs carrying on outside and went to investigate I caught sight of the object and watched it only for 30 seconds before realizing that it wasn’t a plane, helicopter, or hot air balloon and ran into the house and grabbed my cell phone as it was the closest camera available.
The object first appeared to be about 700 feet high, but as the object had moved into the background of my house it appeared to be gaining altitude, I snapped three photos as it passed beyond the peak of the roof over my bedroom, moving southeast towards Manila.
The object made no sound at all, and it had no visible lights of any kind, it seemed to be moving about the same speed as a small plane at first and was completely out of sight in about 3 minutes or less, apparently gaining speed. When I first looked at the pictures, I thought I missed it, as it looked like a speck of dust or dirt, I then downloaded them to my desktop computer and cropped the photos, and then I could see better detail. I was a bit stunned when saw it, as I had never seen any craft like this before, and it clearly had a some type of leg structure for landing. Bridgwater, Devon — I was at the Bridgwater Carnival taking photographs of the procession when I spotted two strange objects above the float on November 7, 2015. I quickly took a photograph about 9:15 PM and the two objects moved away and flew over a nearby house when I lost sight of them. When I got home and looked at the photograph I could see that there were four strange objects in the photograph.
The first object appears to be a sphere and the second object appears to be large Ebani that is far away. Ebanis appear to be biological in nature that must have been drawn to the lights, loud music and the heat coming from the Carnival float. ,. These type of entities are usually scared off by loud noise so to see them get this close is very strange. I have taken many photographs of the entities that have appeared in the skies of Devon England. Some Ebanis can change into multiple shapes and sizes with internal motion and can be multiple colors. It really is fascinating has they are always accompanied by a sphere. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Newton Abbot— I was sky watching when I noticed a black object far off in the distance. The object was morphing into different shapes as it moved at a high rate of speed and ascending into the sky. The black object also had a bright white light that it flashed when it took on different forms. I managed to take three photograph of this very strange morphing object. What could this bizarre black morphing object be? It’s incredible, how was this thing able to change shape so quickly while moving so fast. The photographs were taken on the 28th of October 2016.
