NO, YOU’RE not looking at an alien invasion.

These incredible pictures show Nasa’s fake clouds that lit up the sky over the US this morning.

The space agency launched a Malemute sounding rocket from its Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia in the early hours of the morning.

During the eight-minute flight, ten canisters about the size of a soft drink can were shot into space.

The canisters spewed out blue-green and red vapour that formed artificial clouds which were visible from New York to North Carolina.

The fake clouds create a sky-high portrait of the movements in aurora winds – so scientists can better understand how a phenomenon like the Northern Lights affects Earth.

There were more than 2,000 reports and photos of the cloud sightings after its launch at 4.24am ET.

Scientists at the flight centre breathed a sigh of relief after the rocket was delayed several times over the past month, soared to 188 miles into the sky.

The cloud vapours were formed using barium, strontium and cupric oxide.

Nasa assured the public that the chemicals don’t pose a health hazard.

Sightings of the Northern Lights in the UK will be wiped out within the next few decades thanks to changes in solar activity, scientists claim.

These fluctuations could make the Earth more vulnerable to devastating solar blasts and cancer-causing cosmic rays, according to researchers at the University of Reading.

The phenomenal light is one of Iceland’s biggest selling points, but the very north of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland get treated to a display every now and again.

EXCLUSIVE: British Area 51? Claims secret ALIEN research base uncovered in Farnborough

PARANORMAL investigators claim to have rumbled a top-secret Ministry of Defence (MoD) alien research centre hidden deep underground in a UFO hotspot.

Two of its key researchers, chairman Kenneth Parsons and his “alien abductee” partner Hilary Porter, carried out the “inquiry” and said evidence of the underground areas came from government whistleblowers.

But they said the smoking gun evidence for the secret base were cryptic signs in the building and on site.The couple concluded that part of the site’s road system has been made to look like an alien being depicted in ancient Aboriginal paintings in Australia, as a sign of the base’s significance.On top of this they said part of the building has been made to look like a flying saucer.

 

The report said: “As with the top-secret Area 51 in Nevada, and how that officially did “not exist” for decades…if what we are about to expose ‘does not exist’ either (as it is bound to be claimed), then our Government/military have absolutely nothing to fear from us talking about it – do they?”

The pair claimed the Qinetiq site was the biggest of three secret underground facilities, also in the UK, including two other suspected ones.

Their report said Government whistleblowers had revealed: “Officers at Chicksands regularly simulated possible outcomes of nuclear war with their counterparts operating from an underground command centre beneath Qinetiq in Farnborough.“One source (who holds a sensitive government post) says that he knows several people currently employed at British underground facilities where acquired alien technology and genetics programmes are being carried out.”The couple said the Cody technology park was also under tight security with armed guards and secret cameras.But the clincher, in their opinion, was the roundabout system near the main building.

Referring to an aerial slide of the roadways on site, which highlighted this roundabout, the report said: “We suggest that this is a stylised, diagrammatic representation of a grey/reptilian figure – just like the Aboriginal supreme creator paintings attempted to portray – which is only visible like this from the air.”

Posing the question “why was it there?”, the report said: “Why incorporate a massive image of an alien, or supreme creator within a top secret subterranean military site – somewhere so sensitive that it is virtually our own British equivalent of the Area 51 complex in Nevada.”

They surmised that the powers behind the site were confident the public would never see through their cryptic code, but “those” who needed to would recognise it instantly.

Besides, if the roundabout did not do the trick, there was more.

The couple concluded the roof and canopy of the main building had purposely been designed in the shape of a flying saucer just to hammer home the purpose of the secret base to those in the know.

They said the existence of the “underground” parts of the site described by “sources” were further proved by Qinetiq’s involvement in mining coupled with a strange rumbling noise they allegedly heard a cross Farnborough over the last 15 years, which they deduced was it being secretly expanded.

Three so-called psychic remote viewers given the name of the site, but no more details, as part of the research, also came back with descriptions of a highly technological and disturbing underground base, they claimed.Not convinced? Neither are some other UFO investigators.Nigel Watson, author of the UFOs: The Nazi Connection, said: “It sounds like they are trying to bring a lot of separate things to make (something) whole.”

But he added that “the idea” of alien or flying saucer bases being underground was “nothing new”, dating back to at least 1962, when Albert Bender, founder of the International Flying Saucer Bureau (IFSB) in Bridgeport, Connecticut, claimed that alien beings took him to an underground HQ in Antarctica.

He said: “Sceptics think such stories are the product of malicious disinformation or fantasies, yet that doesn’t stop people believing in their existence. Perhaps if we all go under that flying saucer ‘shelter’ we might all believe.”

An MoD spokesman said: “We do not comment on UFO matters.”

Express.co.uk contacted Qinetiq to comment on the strange suggestions and awaits a further response.

A spokesman said: “We’re taking a look at the very detailed dossier and working on a response.”

Agnes Dupont de Ligonnes and her four children were found murdered in 2011. Investigators believe that they were killed between April 3-4, but neighbors are sure that they saw Agnes days after that. Agnes’ husband, Xavier, is the main suspect in the case, but has yet to be caught.

Unit 731 was a “covert biological and chemical warfare research and development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army” which was infamous for doing experiments on humans. Vivisections were performed on humans without anesthesia and prisoners’ limbs were dipped in water and frozen to test treatments for frostbite.

SCIENTISTS TO LAUNCH SPACECRAFT CAPABLE OF DETECTING PARALLEL UNIVERSES

The European Space Agency’s Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) mission will be launched in 2034 and will study gravitational waves in more depth.
Just last year, astronomers declared they had spotted two gravitational waves – or ripples in space - for the first time, validating Albert Einstein’s 100 year old theory.
The consequence of the discovery has been enormous, with it opening up many diverse realms in the world of physics.

Since the first discovery, two more gravitational waves have been found, and researchers are looking to discover more.
The LISA mission will let researchers to sense gravitational waves on the edge of the observable universe and ultimately open a world of information that physicists are uncertain of.
ESA's director of science, Alvaro Giménez Cañete,told the BBC: "We have no idea what we will discover, but perhaps we can get closer to the line that divides gravity from quantum physics. This may take us there.”
LISA consist of three satellites that will be placed in a triangle formation and separated by 1.6 million miles.
The trio system of satellites will beam lasers to each other which will help to sense the waves in the fabric of space-time.

Moreover, as gravity is expected to be the only consistent across all 11 theoretical dimensions, gravitational waves could ultimately aid researchers to detect parallel universes.
Gustavo Lucena Gomez, who is leading a study into extra dimensions at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Potsdam, Germany, told New Scientist: “If there are extra dimensions in the universe, then gravitational waves can walk along any dimension, even the extra dimensions.”
Dr Emilian Dudas, from the Ecole Polytechnique in France, added: “Extra dimensions have been discussed for a long time from different points of view.

“Gravitational waves could be a new twist on looking for extra dimensions.”

“Seek professional speaker representation, make contact with officials in European countries, develop video media for use in the disclosure advocacy movement, built up the Exopolitics World Network and United States Network, and consolidate, redesign and update PRG’s many websites and Facebook pages.”

PRG was bouyed on May 28 when during an interview on CBS 60 Minutes billionaire space engineer, Robert Bigelow, remarkably revealed he believed there is an “extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race.”

UFO Files exclusive: Cold War spyplane incident

The release by Britain’s Ministry of Defence of 15 of its last remaining UFO files at the UK’s National Archives has revealed details of a stunning Cold War close encounter witnessed by the entire crew of a US Air Force spy-plane.

Formerly secret RAF files opened at The National Archives include a detailed account of an incident on 19 October 1982 when a USAF RC-135 plane, monitoring Soviet military activity, was buzzed by ‘a big object’ over the Eastern Mediterranean.

According to the files, British personnel at RAF Troodos, a remote base on the island of Cyprus listened in amazement to the radio calls of the American crew as the encounter unfolded at 35,000 feet above the sea.

The UFO – – described as covered in ‘a multitude of flashing lights 20 at a time’ – was picked up on the spylane’s radar as it approached from the south.

It then circled around the plane, call-sign Beano 73 – and closed in as the navigator appealed for help from the ground.

Two US Navy F-14 fighters were scrambled from an aircraft carrier and a RAF Phantom was diverted from a night flying exercise to intercept the UFO, south of the island of Cyprus.

As the three interceptors approached the USAF crew saw the UFO depart towards the African coast. Nothing was seen by the fighter pilots.

The files reveal how RAF personnel at the Troodos radar station monitored the entire incident for a period of 90 minutes, beginning shortly after 4pm local time.

But nothing was seen by British air defence stations – ‘nor was it seen on any ground or seaborne radar, including at 280 SU [280 Signals Unit – RAF Troodos]’.

Following the encounter a secret investigation was launched by the British authorities. The results were sent to the US Department of Defense in November 1982.

Neither the British or US government have ever released information about this incident before the files were opened this week.

Officially the US Air Force’s UFO Project, Blue Book, was closed in 1969. The British Ministry of Defence closed its own UFO desk in 2009 and its secret space intelligence unit, DI55, said it was no longer interested in ‘unidentified aerial phenomena’ (UAP) in 2000.

But the newly-released RAF file reveals that officials ordered a transcript to be made of the tape recording that captured radio transmissions made between the spyplane crew and ground controllers.

Copies of the report were circulated to Assistant Chief Scientist (RAF), DD Ops (GE) RAF, DI55 and DSTI.

Film provided by the RAF Troodos radar station was carefully studied by photographic experts in London and large prints, taken from the radar picture,  were prepared for scrutiny by intelligence officers.

The file does not reveal what happened to this evidence. The results of the joint UK/US investigation do not appear in the file.

But a tentative explanation is offered by a senior RAF official, who wrote: ‘We have a strong suspicion that the “UFO” was a mirage effect from lights on the coast of Israel or Lebanon’.

A signal reporting the sighting sent from RAF Troodos to MoD UK on 20 October describes the UFO as ‘larger than [a] RC-135’.

Boeing RC-135 aircraft are used by the USAF and RAF to support intelligence gathering. They have been used in every armed conflict including Cold War operations around the borders of the former Soviet Union. The aircraft are 136ft (41m) in length with a wingspan of 130ft (nearly 40m).

The RAF signal reporting the encounter says the ‘object’ was first spotted: “…initially about two miles from wing of RC-135…moved position around aircraft and closed…object tailed Beano 73 for 90 mins on its northeast/southwest race track….”.

The signal says the UFO was seen by the ‘whole crew’.

Three RC-135s were purchased by the RAF in 2017 to serve with 51 Squadron based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire. The crew includes two pilots, a navigator and up to 25 mission staff.

Elsewhere in the file a RAF Group Captain collated information on UFO reports received by his air defence staff for a thirty year period ending in 1996, in response to a Parliamentary Question from the Labour MP for Don Valley, Martin Redmond.

He asked all radar stations including the Ballistic Missile Early Warning Station at RAF Fylingdales on the North York Moors to submit UFO data to HQ No 11 Group.

His report says he could find “no reports or mention [was] found of UFOs detected by ADGE [Air Defence Ground Environment] units or 11/18 Group aircraft using radar equipment“.

NASA's Artificial Clouds Are More Beautiful Than Any Fireworks

If you were to look up at the sky early in the morning in Virginia on Thursday, you might’ve seen a cluster of floating green orbs and deduced they must be alien life-forms descending on Earth to wreak havoc. In actuality, it was NASA launching a Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

Though no one would blame you for thinking otherwise, it was a spectacular sight. The rocket shot 10 soda can-sized canisters filled with colorful vapors into space, which, once released, formed beautiful artificial clouds. Spectators from as far as New York could see the clouds, which scientists used to better understand how particles move through space. (Though I’m sure they enjoyed the view as well.)

Prior to Thursday’s launch, the mission had been delayed several times with the initial launch set to happen earlier in June. Luckily for us, we got a pre-Fourth of July light show of cosmic proportions. According to NASA, the facility received nearly 2,000 messages and photos from people who were up at 4 a.m. to watch the launch. You can check out NASA’s photo from the evening below, but beware, it may ruin whatever fireworks show you had planned for next week.

The Milky Way is on a collision course with the Andromeda galaxy, and when the two colossal entities meet, they’ll shred each other apart.

What remains less certain, however, is what will happen to each of the galaxies’ black holes — those cryptic places in space where gravity’s pull is so powerful, not even light can escape. Now, for the first time, scientists have observed two “supermassive” black holes orbiting each other in a galaxy unfathomably far away from Earth — 750 million light-years — providing a clue to our own galaxy’s smashing fate. The observations were published this week in The Astrophysical Journal.

Inside this far-off galaxy, University of New Mexico scientists spotted two black holes and have been watching them closely for over a decade. They are huge, with a combined mass of 15 billion times our humble sun, and scientists estimate that it takes 24,000 years for these black masses to orbit one another. This presents a problem, because us Earthlings can’t possibly live long enough to glimpse the curving nature of their orbits.

“The best way to detect orbital motion is to be able to see the curvature, but we would have to live 4,000 years,” the study’s lead author and astrophysicist Karishma Bansal, tells Inverse. “The process itself is slow — maybe after 1,000 years, but I won’t be here so I won’t know.”

Measuring this curvature would be like trying to discern the travels of a snail in another solar system. “If you imagine a snail on the recently-discovered Earth-like planet orbiting Proxima Centauri — 4.243 light years away — moving at 1 centimeter per second, that’s the angular motion we’re resolving here,” said Roger W. Romani, a physics professor at Stanford University.

Lacking immortality, Bansal and her team tried another tactic. She pinpointed the locations of both colossal galaxies, using a system of 10 radio telescopes placed across the U.S., collectively called the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), and over a period of 12 years they measured how one galaxy moved in relation to the other. The plotted changes in position suggest that the two black holes, forced together by a convergence of galaxies, are orbiting one another, though the shape of their orbits remains unknown.

Orbiting black holes are certainly intriguing, but scientists like Bansal wonder what happens next. The assumption is that these black holes will one day collide (a recurring theme in our universe), creating the rippling gravitational waves discovered in 2016 by a team of over 1,000 scientists, but there is no observable evidence of this collision occurring.

Finding a more compact binary galaxy system — with two black holes that don’t take 24,000 years to orbit one another — could give researchers a better look into the behaviors of these orbiting mega-masses, perhaps an instance of two black holes orbiting each other, or even fusing together, or absorbing one another in some twisted, cosmic union. “If we manage to find something closer, that would be huge,” says Basnal. “That would tell us what would happen. Their fate – it’s a mystery.”

And this will show us what fate has in store for our galaxy, the Milky Way, as it’s on course for a consequential meeting with the billion-star Andromeda, though in, perhaps, one billion years.

“They will rip one another apart, and the material around each other will merge,” explains Basnal. “Because they are both spiral galaxies, and are both so huge, they will distort the structure of one another.”

As for the black holes, it remains to be known, but scientists are peering into the cosmos to find out. “That’s what’s cool about astronomy,” she says. “You get to see something about our own future.”

Abstract: The radio galaxy 0402+379 is believed to host a supermassive black hole binary (SMBHB). The two compact-core sources are separated by a projected distance of 7.3 pc, making it the most (spatially) compact resolved SMBHB known. We present new multi-frequency VLBI observations of 0402+379 at 5, 8, 15, and 22 GHz and combine them with previous observations spanning 12 years. A strong frequency-dependent core shift is evident, which we use to infer magnetic fields near the jet base. After correcting for these shifts we detect significant relative motion of the two cores at at . With some assumptions about the orbit, we use this measurement to constrain the orbital period yr and SMBHB mass . While additional observations are needed to confirm this motion and obtain a precise orbit, this is apparently the first black hole system resolved as a visual binary.

Something unusual was happening in the skies over Scandinavia in the summer of 1946.

The July 12, 1946 edition of the London Daily Telegraph featured a report on this curious new phenomenon, which read as follows:

“For some weeks a fair number of ‘ghost rockets’ going from south-east to north-west have been reported from various parts of the eastern coast of Sweden. Eye witnesses say that they look like glowing balls and are followed by a tail of smoke more or less visible. So many reports cannot be put down to pure imagination in the matter. As there is no definite evidence that the phenomena are of meteoric origin, there is growing suspicion that they are a new kind of radio-controlled V-weapon on which experiments are carried out.”

Of course, it might be assumed that one variety of these unusual aerial objects had already begun to turn up prior to the end of the war. Colorful reports of strange lights that dogged aircraft over parts of Europe would soon be known as “Foo Fighters,” of which at least a majority of reports could have entailed things like lightning sprites observed by pilots.

However, while the “ghost rocket” craze was well underway in Europe and Scandinavia, a very different kind of rocket was being seen in other parts of the world.

One of the most remarkable incidents involving an unidentified flying object, which occurred prior to the subject’s popularity coinciding with Kenneth Arnold’s 1947 sighting, involved Captain Jack Puckett, the assistant chief of flying safety, Tactical Air Command. On the morning of August 1, 1946, Puckett was piloting a twin engine C-47, and had left Langley Field for MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa, Florida.

Puckett was thirty miles from his destination when what appeared to be a long, brightly illuminated object nearly collided with his C-47. Puckett filed an incident report after he landed, according to which he stated:

“[The aircraft] continued toward us on a collision course, at our exact altitude. At about 1,000 yards, it veered to cross our path. We observed it to be a long, cylindrical shape approximately twice the size of a B-29 bomber, with luminous portholes.”

Puckett and his crew aboard the C-47 watched the object in amazement, until it disappeared over the horizon, traversing an estimated 100 miles over the course of three minutes.

In my book The Ghost Rockets: Mystery Missiles and Phantom Projectiles in Our Skies, I note the rocket like functions of this unusual aircraft, in relation to rocket technologies that were being developed in Germany during the war:

The object Puckett witnessed also produced a strange, sparkling tail, much like a rocket would; this detail would certainly present a lot of confusion among aviation officials at the time, in addition to increasing speculation about new kinds of technologies that might be under development elsewhere in the world. The technical information about rocketry advancements spearheaded in Nazi Germany during World War II, along with many of the leading experts in this field, were acquired by the British, Soviet, and American governments during and immediately following the war. America had previously gained access to V-2 rocket technology the Allies recovered at the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp near Nordhausen, where an underground German rocket base known as the Mittelwerk factory, had been located. British forces managed to take away a wealth of information prior to the later Soviet occupation of the area. By late 1945, this information formed the basis of what became Operation Backfire, a program where British V-2 rockets were built and launched for purposes of demonstrating their capabilities.

The significance of Puckett’s encounter goes beyond the mere recollection of a “mystery aircraft” for a number of reasons. For one, as mentioned earlier, this sighting took place well in advance (by almost a year) the sighting of objects over Mount Rainer, Washington, that sparked the eventual “flying saucer craze.” In addition to the sighting taking place prior to the swelling of reports that accompanied Kenneth Arnold’s initial UFO sightings over the northwest, the fact that the assistant chief of flying safety with Tactical Air Command would report an aircraft of this sort, and only months after the conclusion of the Second World War, would likely have been considered to be of sincere concern as far as national security; to have fabricated such a report would have meant severe repercussions for Puckett and his crew.

Additionally, the object in question had initially been considered a meteor by Puckett and his crew, while still at a fair  distance from them. “This object continued toward us on a collision course at our exact altitude,” he continued in his incident report. “At about 1000 yards it veered to cross our path. We observed it to be a long, cylindrical shape approximately twice the size of a B-29, with luminous portholes.” It would seem unusual indeed that the pilot and crew would see a meteor, and then mistake the meteor as it traversed their altitude for being a massive aircraft of some kind, adorned with “luminous portholes”.

Finally, the idea that the object had been a misidentification of some variety of natural phenomenon seems unusual, since Puckett and his crew’s description matched a number of similar UFO reports that would follow, most notably the famous 1948 Chiles and Whitted UFO encounter (dramatized in the image above), along with a similar observation that occurred shortly afterward in France.

Granted, by the time the Chiles and Whitted sighting occurred, the “UFO craze” was already well underway. Indeed, Captain Jack Puckett’s unusual observation of a weird, “ghost rocket” over the American Southeast remains one of the most unusual, and perhaps significant observations of unexplained aerial activity in the modern era.
