Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

US Fighter Jets And A UFO Apparently In A Dogfight Over Lincoln County, Nevada
Two planes and a third object were captured on photos silhouetted against the sky above a patch of desert in Lincoln County, Nevada. Many believe that the dramatic photos show US fighter jets battling a UFO over Area 51, an alleged top-secret alien site.
UFO researchers Tim Doyle and Tracey Su captured the photos while they were camping out 12 miles from the military base.
They claimed that they spotted the two fighters soaring above and they decided to take pictures. Then a third shape appeared when they looked back at the images later.
The pair believed the trio were involved in a plane dogfight.
Tim described the UFO as similar to a triangular unmanned drone because it was probably too small to have a person inside it.
Tim added that it definitely looked as though the three crafts are interacting with each other.
The US Air Force base, located approximately 80 miles from Las Vegas, is thought to be the home of experimental aircraft development and testing.
The CIA only acknowledge its existence after a Freedom of Information request in 2013.
Many conspiracy theorists claim the highly secretive facility has been used for reverse engineering of a crashed alien spacecraft at Roswell in 1947.

On Tuesday morning, February 27, 2018 strange moving lights appeared over Milwaukee and were captured live on TV from FOX6.
They quickly explained that it was just a huge flock of seagulls but not everyone is convinced because a few days earlier another mysterious light fell from the sky over Milwaukee and they believe that both events are connected to each other.

Bigelow Aerospace Director “Cannot Comment”
On What They Do With UFO Reports
Mike Gold – Former Director of Operations for Bigelow Aerospace was asked about Bigelow’s involvement with UFO reports. He gives an interesting answer with some interesting expressions on his face. He mentions how he finds the subject matter very interesting. He also mentions the recent congressional hearing held regarding Earth like planets that are probably teeming with life. He mentions he cannot comment on what Bigelow Aerospace does with UFO reports. He goes on to state how he is glad that somebody is taking the reports because these are important issues that deserve serious attention. (It appears Bigelow Aviation provides data to the government and allegedly is rewarded with UFO crash debris.
Bigelow Aerospace is a space technology company that is known for its work on expandable space station modules. They are now working on space habitats for space agencies and corporate clients. They have a long history of working for NASA.
Earlier this month the Founder of Bigelow Aerospace, Robert Bigelow, announced that he is planning a real estate empire in outer space.
The Federal Aviation Administration refers its UFO reports to BAASS. Which stands for Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies. Robert Bigelow mentions how UFO sightings led him to his interest in space. Bigelow Aerospace has spun off a new commercial space company called Bigelow Space Operations (BSO), which will act as the sales, operations, and provider for the inflatable space stations he’s developing. According to Bigelow, these stations will be the largest, most complex structures ever built for human habitation in space. Arjun Walia
The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS)
The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS), now defunct has catalogued the Triangle sightings, sifting through and combining databases to take a hard look at the mystery craft. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, NIDS was privately funded by Robert Bigelow science institute with a strong research focusing on aerial phenomena.
Correction: It was stated in last in weeks Filer’s Files 7 in“The Great UFO Deception” article stated, Bigelow paid Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center for the triangle information contained in the NIDs report. Peter Davenport says, although he was asked to be part of NIDs and refused, he was never paid in any way for the data on Peter’s National UFO Reporting Center.web site.
I spoke at length with Peter and he indicated the triangle reports are increasing in recent months and they do not show standard aircraft lighting that all military and commercial aircraft display as required by law.

Many people believe the Universe can be explored in almost a blink of an eye, using energetic portals and our consciousness. Portals are defined as a door, gate, or entrance, especially one of imposing appearance, as to a worm hole into space or another dimension.
Allegedly, the Ancients knew about these means of traveling to other Star Systems, but also to the inner Earth using crystals, pyramids, and other earthen structures aligned with the ley lines of our planet. Fantasy literature is full of symbolism referring to portals that allowed the passage to inconceivable worlds. Many researchers feel ET is not arriving from planets millions of miles away but from another dimension that exits parallel to his one.
The plot of Stargate SG-1 TV picks up a year after the conclusion of the events recounted in the original feature film. It follows the present-day adventures of SG-1, a military team from Earth. SG-1 and a dozen other SG teams venture to distant planets using an alien portal known as a Stargate, which in the series is housed in a top-secret United States Air Force military base known as Stargate Command (SGC) in the underground Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In the first eight seasons, the mission of the SG teams is to explore the galaxy and search for alien technology and allies to defend Earth against the Goa’uld, a snake-like parasitic alien race that takes humans as unwilling hosts. The premise of the series may be closer to reality than generally beloved.
Within this scheme we can look at the work of a NASA scientist who disclosed that every day, portals open and close every day. Such gateways can be found within Earth’s magnetic field, falling in a direct line to the Sun’s atmosphere 93 million miles away. NASA hasn’t tagged them as portals, instead opting to call them Boom Tubes, electron diffusion regions or ‘X’ points, their existence being due to magnetic resonance. It’s truly a shame “real” scientists are paid to dismiss their presence in our scope.
Jack Scudder, a NASA plasma physicist from the University of Iowa, refers to X-points as:
“Places where the magnetic field of Earth connects to the magnetic field of the Sun. These portals can be elusive, however, so if one were to imagine utilizing them for space travel, they would have to be an expert in space geography and mathematics to time them correctly.”
Laura Magdalene Eisenhower the great-granddaughter of Dwight David Eisenhower, and Andrew D. Basiago claim they were Independent Mars colony recruits. They claim the existence of a secret human survival colony on Mars. They were former active members of DARPA’s Project Pegasus (1968-1972), claiming that the government had successfully achieved Tesla-based quantum teleportation and time travel in the time-space hologram, initiating the U.S. program of time-space travel called “Chrononauts”.
Since the 1970s, the military has been crossing worlds, and for more than 10 years, Basiago has been spreading the word about portal-based time travel, similar to the “Stargate” TV series. The military could travel ahead in time and location to delete people who would pose a risk to the government such as North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Not only did Basiago talk about time travel, but he also claims that the CIA has a program named Mars-jump-room which grants our military units the ability to build their own bases on Mars. He claims he has worked with some of the physicists leaders in quantum physics. According to Basiago, he was engaged in two – allegedly – secret military programs. He claims he was one of the great deal of American children chosen to take part in experiments involving time travel. His reports on his experiences are determined based on logic alone and it is hard to disregard his tales as being sheer fantasy. It is, by all means, for the best that the US military keeps this kind of technologies secret, since they can be turned into weapons. This is no secret, ever since Rumsfeld has declared that one of the advantages of research done within Project Pegasus is the capacity to use teleportation in order to deliver troops to the proper place on the battlefield.

While passing through this veil of energy, Vancouver, Washington lawyer Basiago would enter a “vortal tunnel” that would send him to his destination. The other teleportation devices included a “plasma confinement chamber” in New Jersey and a “jump room” in El Segundo, California. There was also some kind of “holographic technology,” that allowed them to travel “both physically and virtually in time and location.”
However advanced, this unconventional transportation process had its pitfalls. Basiago’s admission is controversial, to say the least. The technology he describes could solve a lot of mankind’s problems, but it could destroy us just as well. Collectively, we don’t even know what time is, why it is or why it flows the way it does. The human mind finds it hard to wrap around concepts like time travel and the paradoxical consequences of altering past timelines. Nobel Prize awarded to Gravity LIGO Founders
The LIGO Laboratory, comprising LIGO Hanford, LIGO Livingston, Caltech, and MIT are excited to announce that LIGO’s three longest-standing and greatest champions have been awarded the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics: Barry Barish and Kip Thorne of Caltech and Rainer Weiss of MIT.
The Nobel Committee in Stockholm Sweden announcement the winners of the Nobel prizes. The very ideafor LIGO came to Rainer Weiss in the early 1970’s when, as associate professor of physics at MIT, he had to find a way to explain gravitational waves (a prediction of general relativity) to his students.
In an interview with MIT news writer, Jennifer Chu, Weiss recalled his revelation: “That was my quandary at the time, and that’s when the invention was made. I said, ‘What’s the simplest thing I can think of to show these students that you could detect the influence of a gravitational wave? … The obvious thing to me was, let’s take freely floating masses in space and measure the time it takes light to travel between them. The presence of a gravitational wave would change that time. [Later] knowing what you could do with lasers, I worked it out: Could you actually detect gravitational waves this way? And I came to the conclusion that yes, you could detect gravitational waves…”
Sometime later, in 1972, Weiss carefully thought through and wrote down his idea, subsequently publishing it as a paper titled, “Electromagnetically Coupled Broadband Gravitational Antenna” . In this paper, Weiss described in great detail, the design and promise of using laser interferometry to detect gravitational waves. Within its 22 pages, the paper laid out the blueprint for the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (at the time, Weiss called it an antenna.)

Today, no one disputes the fact that LIGO owes its very existence to Rainer Weiss.
Transforming LIGO from concept to reality, however, would take another 20 years.. In 1975, a fateful meeting between Weiss and Kip Thorne of Caltech would set into motion the development of one of the most complicated and risky scientific experiments ever conceived. Thorne, commanded a level of respect among peers, colleagues, research groups, and funding agencies that was unequalled. As much as Rai is responsible for conceiving of LIGO, Kip Thorne is equally responsible for convincing countless others of LIGO’s potential for success. As a result of his interactions with Weiss, Thorne convinced Caltech to create a gravitational-wave research group.
Thus was formed the LIGO triumvirate. In 1989, Weiss and Thorne, along with Ron Drever, Fred Raab, and Robbie Vogt, submitted a proposal for LIGO to the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) which has enthusiastically supported this effort from the start. In 1994 construction began on the twin LIGO detectors in Hanford, Washington and Livingston, Louisiana.
That’s when Barry Barish joined the trio. Barish became LIGO Principal Investigator in 1994, helping the growing cadre move from a small intensely focused group cooking up basic ideas to a large and broad team that could actually deliver the Observatories and hardware. His insights led not only to construction of the Observatories and the initial detectors, but also to the creation of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration and to the successful proposal to build Advanced LIGO—the instrument that would finally make the first detection. Barry was the perfect complement to Kip and Rai to bring LIGO to success.
Another 21 years would pass before the efforts of Rai Weiss, Kip Thorne, and Barry Barish finally paid off. On September 14, 2015, LIGO detected the gossamer flutters of spacetime created by the merging of two massive black holes some 1.3 billion light years away. Nearly half-a-century after its conception, LIGO had fulfilled its destiny.
Structure is able to detect gravitational waves.
So, while this Nobel Prize is being awarded barely two years after LIGO’s historic detection, it acknowledges 45 years of effort: from conception, through design, planning, testing and prototyping, through decades of research and engineering, invention and innovation, advances in computing, lasers, and optics, and especially the championing and advocating of three remarkable men: Barry Barish, Kip Thorne, and Rai Weiss. There can be no doubt; their recognition by the Nobel Committee is well earned. It is apparent UFOs over come gravity now we have proof of gravity waves.
Unusual U.S. Aerial Observations During World War II
UFOs had become a distinct topic of discussion beginning in 1947. Prior to that time the phenomena didn’t have a particular title, so that observations of peculiar aerial objects fell into no organized category, other than being interesting recollections with most often no permanent record kept.
South Pacific Flying Disk in US Hangar
This is a story told me by a coworker at Boeing in the late eighties. He was stationed in the South Pacific near the end of World War II, a marine guard at an airfield on a South Pacific Island on June 15,1945. He was assigned to guard the airfield and one night his commanding officer told him the field lights would go out sometime in the night and when that happened he was to turn his back to one of the hangars, and was not to look, nor turn around until the lights went back on. As he was told, later that night the field lights went out. His curiosity overcame him, and he looked toward the hangar as the hangar doors opened, and a disk flew slowly in. At that point the hangar doors were closed, and the field lights came back on. The process was reversed several nights later, the field lights went off, the hangar doors opened, the disk flew off, the field lights came back on, and he never saw it again. DNA Tests Indicate Elongated Skulls from Alien Race
DNA test results on the elongated skulls discovered in Peru have been released by a researcher investigating if the bones could belong to an alien race. The 3,000-year old Paracas skulls, with elongated craniums, have long been held up by UFO hunters as evidence of ancient alien visitations due to their extraordinarily huge foreheads.
The long skulled people also are found in England and had their capital at Stonehenge and were the first to lay down the ley system as their monuments are the oldest and set the locations for the leys and ley systems. Perhaps with larger brain capacity they sensed and perceived the land differently to you and I.
The other picture is from NASA showing the skull or a sculptured rock from Mars that suggests Martians or other aliens had elongated skulls. Some areas of Mars have pyramids and Pharaoh like statues. The entire Stonehenge area has the exceptional people with elongated skulls that may have come from Mars or some other planets. They built Silbury Hill the largest prehistoric man-made mound in Europe called the “Hill of the Shining Beings, We know that Mars atmosphere and water diminished with some type of catastrophe and that gravity there is only one sixth of Earths

Silbury Hill and Stonehenge, barrows and Cursus were skillfully crafted by our ancient ancestors. The prehistoric architects of ancient sites were acutely aware of the Earth’s magnetic energies, which they carefully integrated into the foundation plans of their monuments. At Stonehenge, for example, certain megaliths, such as the Altar Stone, were positioned above a geometric earth energy pattern, known as geospiral, to harness the earth force, which perpetually charged the stone with magnetic energy. “Looking through the viewfinder of digital cameras – vertical columns of rose colored light rising up from the ground. There is quite a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that extraterrestrial civilizations choose to enter our world at specific planetary locations. These are either on ley-lines or on fault lines where the earth’s electromagnetic field is stronger or weaker than in the surrounding area.”
Geodesic DomeET Painting
Letter from Dan Johnson – The painting is of a geodesic dome similar to the famous California Integratron. This geodesic dome is in Black Mountain, NC and is at the home of Jim Goure, who has since passed, Jim was very active in 1970s UFO research when I met him. He was also connected to and was at Walter Russell’s death bed when Walter died on his birthday in 1963. It’s coincidental that Walter Russell and Nicola Tesla knew each other and were in contact with one another.
This picture is a painting that hung prominently on Jim’s wall at his home in Black Mountain. It depicts, I believe, a controversial and large Jesus, and Mary Magdalene standing on the dome. Notice what Jesus has in his right hand. It looks remarkably like a G.E.M. Sphere that Judy Beebe Re-created through Nicola Tesla’s inspiration in 2002 or so, many years after Nicola’s death. Also, the mere size of the figures reminds me of the nearly 85 foot beings that I have seen in my back yard in the Virginia, Mountains. More people are seeing these Beings besides myself. Some have seen as many as 60 or 70 beings.
They’re even showing up in our front yard and all around the Monroe Institute property. These Beings are very tall, in other dimensions and are translucent, like the painting. Was the artist and Jim Goure possibly showing Jesus as being ET in nature? It all makes one think doesn’t it? Mexican Drug Traffickers Use a Drug 50 Times More Powerful Than Heroin
A middle-aged couple had just arrived in the United States from Mexico had dinner at an IHop and returned home only to be arrested. US anti-narcotics agents, with a search warrant in hand, entered the apartment located in Queens. Inside one of the many suitcases the couple had arrived in the United States with, the officers found drugs, but not “the usual ones.”
It was pure fentanyl, a synthetic and extremely dangerous opioid, 50 times more powerful than heroin according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which indicate that more than 60,000 people died from overdoses in the United States last year. The couple owned 141 pounds, almost 64 kilos, of that substance. It was the largest fentanyl seizure in the history of the United States.
According to the Drug Control Administration (DEA), in those 64 kilos there was enough of the drug to kill 32 million people. Rogelio Alvarado Robles, 55, and Blanca Flores Solis, 52, were arrested. And although they had no criminal record, they were both drug runners to negotiate the sale of tens of millions of dollars in narcotics. To the DEA, the Mexican drug cartels seek to turn New York into their distribution center.
In 2017, the DEA seized more than 350 pounds, of pure fentanyl in New York City, 10 times more than in 2016. Fentanyl seems better than heroin for trafficking because of its various advantages. First because it is Its manufactured cheaply in Mexico much more profitable. It does not have to be grown such as poppy, heroin base plant, this, like methamphetamine, can be manufactured in clandestine laboratories using relatively inexpensive chemicals.
Not to mention that its potency makes it able to be diluted to exponentially increase the doses at street level, either in the form of powder or alternative pills pressed to look like brands such as OxyContin and Percoset. For James Hunt, head of the New York Division of the DEA, the way in which this drug is distributed in the city is also different.
Many of the 64,000 killed by Mexican drugs are found with a syringe still in their arms.
The drug traffickers become “evil businessmen”, who invest 3 thousand dollars and earn millions of dollars. “They are smart,” says Jimmy Arroyo, a special agent of the DEA that leads the team that in recent months has made several important arrests related to Mexican traffickers. “They know that if they shoot people, they will attract attention.”
The criminal organization responsible for bringing fentanyl to the United States is the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel .According to the DEA, 80% of the fentanyl seized in the New York area is related to the Sinaloan drug lords.

Fountain Hills — While on vacation in the Phoenix area in March 8, 2014 at 4:40pm my girlfriend was taking random pictures of homes. I had watched a documentary on the Phoenix Lights and noticed six white spots in a slight V pattern in the sky in her photo. Comparing the photo she took to the Phoenix Lights we noticed similarities. We have no idea what is in the picture, but it is quite obviously something. I have examined this photo many times an am no further ahead in explaining it.
I should have sent this to you sooner, but I wasn’t aware of your organization and only found out from a friend while telling this story. The photo was taken on a Samsung G3 cell phone with no filter. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Mena — The following describes an initial Light Event witnessed on February 18, 2017, reported to MUFON by phone, and was investigated by MUFON’s Special Assignment Team (SAT). Due to the fact that this location, Board Camp Crystal Mine, near Mena, Arkansas, has been the site of ongoing phenomenon and investigation since the February 18, 2017, this event was not publicly reported online until now. The reporting parties are the property owners and/or witnesses of numerous events are reporting for the benefit of public education and scientific research. On the night of February 18, 2017, at the property known as Board Camp Crystal Mine, , the 3 eye-witnesses were standing on a hill gazing out over the crystal mine property. About 10 pm, about 900 feet away the witnesses saw a glow of white light appear at the treetops of the horizon silhouetting the treetops from behind. Three large white vertical beams of light appeared out of the glow, seeming to be 30 feet wide and seeming to shoot up to about 300 feet high above the ground. The beams were described as being flat across the top, and appeared for 10 seconds, then disappeared. There were no lights at ground level and no sound of a vehicle or animals. Three large floodlights could have made the lighting but no equipment was noticed. The next morning, the 3 witnesses visited the crystal mine but, there was no evidence of a human visitation, but all metal objects such as fence posts and tools were noticed to be affected, characterized by movement of the objects from their previous positions.
MUFON was contacted and the witnesses were phoned by Arkansas state investigator Race Hobbs. Because of the credibility of the witnesses and the strong physical evidence left behind after the Light Event occurred, MUFON sent the SAT to investigate, led by Chase Kloetzke. Race Hobbs accompanied the SAT. During the SAT’s examination of the metal objects with various devices recording readings for radiation and electromagnetism (EM), it was confirmed that the metal objects at the Event Site were not only magnetized but also polarized, and EM and radiation levels were increased. RanchoSanta Margarita — We had just finished playing tennis at 11am on February 18, 2018, when one of the players looked up and said “What is that?”
We observed the object for about 5-10 minutes. At first I thought it was silver balloons, but they weren’t gaining altitude or being moved by the wind. And then, based on height and distance from us, it seemed too big to be balloons.
It reminded us of this, but we couldn’t see the movement caught in this video because of distance.

Maisen— I was taking pictures of the heavy spraying of chemtrails and I noticed what I thought was a spec on my phone’s screen on February 20, 2018
Upon further review it’s obviously some type of a craft. It was never visible to my naked eye, I looked right up after I noticed it on the camera and there was nothing in that part of the sky.

Toms River — I was sitting on the couch watching TV on February 7, 2018 at 16:30 and noticed a lot of planes putting out abnormal chemtrails criss crossing in about 6 to 9 lines. Two even made a cross in the sky. I started to take some photos, and then sat back down. I kept looking to the sky’s outside of my friends window when to my amassment I saw a strange black object fly in a straight line amidst the chemtrails fading in the sky. Carolina Beach –On February 6th, 2018, at 10 pm, I was at the beach with my dog, looking at the stars. I was surprised to see a pulsating, then spinning object, randomly changing white, blue and green, hovering east over the ocean, for 5 minutes. I took a couple of videos with my phone that pulsated for about 2 minutes and changed to a cube spinning on its corner. At one point, a smaller light appears at the upper right of the object, but it only lasts for about a second. It then slowly moved north/northeast for about a minute. Miranda NSW— Taking my grandson down my drive to meet his mother, I looked up to see this object in the sky on July 29, 2014. It didn’t look like a plane, so I asked my grandson, “What do you think that is?” (It’s on the video). He wasn’t sure. I knew it was something significant. Firstly it was pink, travelling straight across my vision boomerang shape. Not one person has an explanation. Calgary — I was traveling back to Calgary from visiting my sister in Winnipeg on a Westjet flight at 40,000 feet. I glanced for a second outside and seen two white kind of tear drop things flying off in the distance. I had my iPhone in my hand and quickly took one pic before the two objects were gone. They were white in color with no exhaust trails which made them look real bizarre. I knew it had to be two UFOs. Sighting lasted maybe 7 seconds. It was incredible!

Quepos–1. I was a passenger in the front seat of a friend’s car on the Pan American Highway on my way to go fishing in Quepos, Costa Rica, at approx. 4:25pm on January 31, 2018. 2. I decided to take a vacation photo of the palm trees though the windshield as we were driving. 3. I observed an object moving erratically on the screen of my tablet camera, when I looked up, the object was not visible. Yet as soon as I again looked at the tablet, the object was observable and moving erratically and at high speed. 4. The object was invisible to the naked eye and could only be seen with the aid of the camera lens on the tablet screen. I noticed an object that was moving across the sky, I thought it was an airplane because of how high up it was.

Hwa Jeong Duk Yang Ku— Last May, one night I looked up to the sky to see the stars in front of my house. Then, suddenly I happened to see the blinking slowly flying object in the sky around at 9 p.m. At first, I thought it was a helicopter it didn’t make any noise. After that incidence, in fact, I could often see it 2 or 3 times a week on average. Once I climbed up the mountain and succeeded to see it very closely. Its shape is a black right triangle with three blinking lights on its three corners with a faint red light in the center. It’s bigger than a helicopter but not bigger than a plane. It shows up every night regardless of the weather searching. Otago Daily Times told its readers on Monday 26 July 1909 that:
SUPPOSED AIRSHIP. SEEN AT KELSO
The mysterious “airship” has been seen again, this time in broad daylight. On Saturday Mr. Gibson, of Kelso [S45°54’, E169°13’], telephoned us stating that at noon on Friday [23 July 1909], the school children be held in the air a strange machine, which they described as shaped like a boat, with what seemed like the figure of a man seated in it. The “airship” approached from the direction of the Blue Mountains [S45°55’, E169°22’], circled high over the school, and then disappeared in the direction whence it came. The phenomenon was also observed by Mrs. James Russell, of Kelso. Possible depiction of craft.
Our Kelso correspondent telegraphed as follows; – “There is not the slightest doubt that the airship was seen at Kelso yesterday at noon. I have eye witnesses to prove this. It is cigar or “boat” shaped and pointed at each end. Those who saw it had no idea of the probable height of it above them. It did not appear to be very long in build, but was very broad. The children who saw it say that it had a pontoon-shaped part above the boat and a short pole or mast, in the centre. It flew over and past the school ground, turned round, and went back the way it came. It was flying along very easily, and had no trouble in turning. It came from the direction of the Blue Mountains and over The Wooded Hill above Kelso, and seemed to make back direct to the mountains again. It was seen by at least five persons, and their statements are all in accord.”
This daylight account, which mentions an aviator, was circulated throughout New Zealand by the UPA wire service. It created great public interest and launched the “Kelso Airships” as a media phenomenon.

Cornwall— I was on holiday we stopped to take some pictures of the beautiful countryside and I noticed a lot of strange objects in the pics on July 1, 2018 24, 2017. I know there was no sound and no sighting by eye but they are there in the pics the other one I was taking pics as we were driving past an RAF airbase and there seems to be ufos in those also one being chased by a plane or something also we never saw with our eyes but they are in the pics, you have to zoom in but they are there. Gainsborough— I had just bought a new camera and was trying it out by swizzling around and napping pictures to see if the was any blurring on August 3, 1998.. I took about 10 pictures doing the same thing I only looked at the first couple and they seemed good quality. so I downloaded them into a file on my computer and never thought any more about it. then I acquired a program called Picasa which found lots of photos on my computer looking through them I spotted this one I thought it might have been a bird in flight and passed it by. Ex-Canadian Transport Minister: US Has Technology for Shooting Down UFOs
Paul Hellyer, a whistleblower and alien conspiracy theorist, says that the US not only traded technology with aliens for years, but even possesses technology capable of shooting down extraterrestrial spaceships.
The United States has developed technology capable of downing alien spaceships, says Hellyer, a 94-year old Canadian engineer, politician, writer, commentator and alien conspiracy theorist.
"I do believe they have developed two or three kinds of weapons that are capable of disabling and bringing down UFOs," he told the Daily Star.
According to Hellyer, the United States has been exchanging technology and even salvaging technology from the advanced lifeforms.
"That is the primary purpose of the anti-ballistic missile shield, the weapons are ones that can be aimed in either direction to control the situation on Earth but equally, if not more important, to shoot down UFOs," he told the Daily Star.
What makes this claim particularly noteworthy is the fact that Hellyer was once minister of national defense of Canada from 1963 to 1967 and minister of transport from 1967 to 1969.
In 2014, Hellyer told RT that there are at least four different alien species that have visited Earth for thousands of years. Some of them are actually interacting with the US military at an Air Force base in Nevada. According to Hellyer, the US military have been exchanging technology with "Tall Whites," as he describes the alien race, since the 1960s.
According to the Daily Star, he cited former US Air Force serviceman Charles James Hall, who has written about his alleged encounters with aliens at a Nevada base, as having told Hellyer they had a hangar for a "mother ship that came into the side of a mountain on the nights of a full moon."
However, despite having weapons capable of shooting down a UFO, there is no need to do that, as the aliens are actually friendly and are more concerned about the way humans treat their planet.
"They are friendly, most observers believe, so why would we shoot at friends?" he asked.
It's also possible that the US has not shot any UFOs because, as Hellyer said in 2013 in another interview for RT, that would spark an "interstellar war." On the other hand, if the alien world turned out to have oil…

Can Earth be hacked by aliens? Scientists say messages from space could destroy life as we know it
Scientists warn that in the event we receive any complex messages from extraterrestrial life forms, they should be destroyed to avoid a potential threat.
Recent advances in science and technology have allowed alien hunters to scour the far reaches of space for any signs of alien life. Although we have yet to identify any evidence of extraterrestrial life, either microbial or intelligent, some scientists believe that there may be a potential threat to humanity from aliens.
In a new research paper, astrophysicists Michael Hippke and John Learned argue that telescopes designed to search for alien signals, could pick hazardous messages from intelligent extraterrestrials. According to the researchers, aliens could launch a virus or cyberattacks to shut down our computer systems.
The researchers also suggested that aliens could "gift" us with an artificial intelligence (AI) system that may trick humans into developing self-replicating nanobots and eventually deploy them to wreak havoc on our planet. The researchers argue that it would be cheaper for aliens to "send a malicious message to eradicate humans compared to sending battleships".
In one scenario, the researchers argued that a message from aliens could be a panic-inducing statement like "We will make your sun go supernova tomorrow". According to the researchers, if such a threatening message is received in just one location, it may be possible to contain and even destroy it. "If it is received repeatedly, perhaps even by amateurs, containment is impossible," the researchers wrote in a paper available online on arXiv.
In another scenario, the scientists argue that humans could be tricked into begetting their own demise by aliens offering the "gift" of knowledge. For instance, aliens could transmit a message that reads: "We are friends. The galactic library is attached. It is in the form of an artificial intelligence (AI) which quickly learns your language and will answer your questions. You may execute the code following these instructions..."
In this scenario, the researchers suggest that even if the utmost care is taken to isolate the AI – by flying the system to the moon and wiring it up with explosives so it can be shut down immediately in the event of a threat, the AI would still likely have some human contact.
"Even in a military-style, adamant experiment, there will still be humans involved who go home after examination work with their own feelings. Even if everything is officially secret, whistle-blowers might get some news out to the public," the researchers wrote. "Quickly, there could be a community on Earth in favor of letting it out for religious, philosophical etc. reasons.
"If the AI promises to cure cancer, or offers a message of salvation, a cult could form. Maybe (or maybe not) a majority of the population would be in favor of releasing the AI. Should, or even could, a democratic government work against the majority of its people? Dictatorships are unstable and eventually overthrown; the AI will be eventually released. Then, the worst possible result would be human extinction or some other unrecoverable global catastrophe."
The scientists warn that in the event we receive any complex messages from extraterrestrial life forms, they should be destroyed to avoid a potential threat.
But is it even likely that we would receive messages from an alien civilisation in a language that we understand?
"In movies, extraterrestrials often communicate with us in colloquial English. But a real message from space is likely to be no more understandable than a digital TV signal would be to Guglielmo Marconi," Seth Shostak, an astronomer at the SETI Institute, wrote in an op-ed in NBC News. "An alien transmission is unlikely to be a Trojan horse — but it would at least tell us that there's someone outside the gates."

In no particular order, here is a list of things Tom DeLonge has consistently claimed to believe: UFOs are real, aliens are real and they visit us episodically, the U.S. government has known about alien life for decades, the U.S. government has been actively experimenting with alien technologies, the Nazis were involved in Roswell, the Cold War was actually an international cover-up about extraterrestrial life, there was more to the moon landing than we were told, the mass of nuclear weapons the U.S. has is being held for a war with aliens, human evolution was tampered with by someone or something, and the U.S. government has a real live alien species locked up somewhere.
He used to sound crazy. Here was a dude in a beanie, his left arm inked from wrist to somewhere beneath his graphic tee, best known as the former co-frontman of the rock band Blink-182. In interviews, the words coming out of his mouth made less sense than the 40 “na”sstrung together in the chorus of “All the Small Things.” This would have been fine — a creative mind susceptible to wild ideas is hardly unique. Except Tom DeLonge didn’t just have a passing interest or affinity; he was planning a crusade.
In late 2015, months after he announced his departure from Blink-182, Tom DeLonge began reaching out to people in politics who might be able to help him find the truth and share it with the world. Maybe no one would have known he was doing it if he hadn’t been emailing with Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta. When her campaign email server leaked in March 2016, though, there was a bundle of emails from Tom DeLonge: sending links, asking Podesta questions about alien life, and trying to set up a meeting between Podesta and an Air Force general to discuss what really happened at Roswell.
He was also dabbling in alien fiction. Sekret Machines Book 1: Chasing Shadows, a novel, came out in April 2016. He has a young adult series called Poet Anderson, a children’s book, and both an alien-inspired album and short film slated to come out later this year. Each of these projects is meant to be grounded in the knowledge DeLonge has acquired through his years of research, like a bite-sized introduction to what he believes is the whole truth. In a YouTube interview with Joe Rogan in October 2017, he said, “The only way to get people to understand what the fuck is going on is to first present them the story [...] and then follow up with the science, and then show them that the [technology] you are seeing can be engineered and created.”
So next comes the science. In October 2017, with over $75,000 cash and more than a million dollars in assets, according to SEC filings, DeLonge launched the To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, comprising a group of 10 scientists, aerospace engineers, and creatives. Their aim is to explore the “outer edges of science,” bringing to light ideas unpresented by mainstream discourse, and to try to discover proof of what DeLonge already believes. They’ll also create cultural products like novels and movies to make those ideas more accessible. The plan is something like: film Star Wars, release a documentary explaining hyperdrives and lightsabers, then raise the money to somehow actually build them.
And… maybe you can? In December, two months after the launch of the To The Stars Academy, The New York Times published an article revealing a decade-long, taxpayer-funded Pentagon programthat investigated UFOs without the knowledge of the American people. (The Defense Department says it closed in 2012, though some skeptics say that it’s still in existence.) Their big scoop was based off research straight from DeLonge’s foundation. Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon employee who ran the department and became the story’s main source, was one of the first employees of To The Stars.
Former Nevada Senator Harry Reid, who greenlit the secret Pentagon program for investigating UFOs, supports DeLonge’s cause. “I think what DeLonge helped start is really wonderful,” Reid told The FADER. “I think it’s remarkable that he’s gotten this team together. They’re all scientists with deep experience.”
Suddenly, DeLonge didn’t sound like a man possessed. He sounded like a man who knew something. “I know that it’s fun to make snarky comments, but this isn’t the kind of thing to joke about,” he told the New York Daily News in December. “This is going to really affect a lot of people and a lot of people’s belief systems.” Tom DeLonge might sound crazy to you, but he’s already had one of his claims verified. And there’s no telling what else he believes that isn’t just conspiratorial rambling, but truth.
I know that it’s fun to make snarky comments, but this isn’t the kind of thing to joke about.
This is the story of how Tom DeLonge got very, very serious about aliens.
On the 1999 Blink-182 album Enema of the State, DeLonge co-wrote the song titled “Aliens Exist.” The next year, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he said that the track was “about aliens that come to earth and fly up your butt [...] and it’s true,” hence the “enema” in the album’s title. “I’m one of those freaks that really believes that stuff exists,” he wrote in a program for the accompanying tour. “I think if anybody out there does a little bit of research they will find that they side with me.”
In 2000, his Blink-182 bandmate Mark Hoppus toldRolling Stonethat Tom “believes anything he reads. You could say, ‘I read in a magazine that an alien landed in Australia. A doctor found him and did an autopsy – there’s footage on the Internet.’ And Tom wouldn’t even question it. He would take it as gospel and go around telling everybody.”
The band gave DeLonge the platform to talk about what he believed and, because he was already famous, a built-in audience. In 2011, the same year Blink released their sixth studio album, he launched his own (now-defunct) website for conspiracy theories called StrangeTimes. In 2012, he went on Larry King to discuss UFOs: “Everyone wants evidence, but no one will take testimony,” a flustered DeLonge told to a UFO skeptic. Of course he was flustered, because at that point, testimony was all he had — that is, until he met his first alien in 2015. Well, maybe heard is a better word for it.
DeLonge was traveling in the desert around Area 51 with some fellow believers filming a documentary about UFOs and government cover-ups. His tired crew drove off-road to find a good place to build a fire, set up a tent, and, hell, maybe try to reach some aliens. That night, when DeLonge awoke to “a chorus of voices — hundreds of people talking around the tent,” he already knew that aliens don’t speak like we do. “They speak on the level of consciousness,” he told George Noory on the late-night radio show Coast to Coast AM, which focuses on the paranormal. When he woke up the next morning, his experience was confirmed: a traveling companion had heard the same thing. (DeLonge denied multiple requests to comment for this piece.)
The experience in the desert affirmed his years of questioning. Years where he had read, by his own count, more than 200 books on the subject. Finally with proof, he quit Blink-182 to focus full-time on UFOs. “I can’t tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I’m setting out to do,” he told Mic. He sought out Podesta and members of the intelligence community until, by his telling of it, DeLonge was inducted into a metaphorical tent of secrets by the United States government.
Here is what he says happened: One day, out of the blue, an email landed in his inbox. Meet us at the Pentagon at this date and time, it said. DeLonge won’t say who it’s from, but at the emailer’s request, he flew to D.C. and went to the Pentagon. Soon, he was on the phone with United States generals. He was flown to NASA and, in meetings behind closed doors, he met with more people who told him state secrets and guided him to others who could help. At one of these meetings — at an otherwise empty restaurant in an airplane hangar — one of these government sources told the legendary pop-punker “[they] found a life form” during the Cold War.
Tom’s story sounds like a conspiracy theory on steroids. It sounds like the ramblings of a very high man. It sounds like someone you definitely do not want to be your boss. Unless, of course, he’s right.
Sometimes you have to do things like this to do what is necessary: to make sure that the public is getting the information they deserve.
Tom DeLonge’s greatest skill used to be selling records. He’s not a scientist or an engineer, or an intelligence official. He certainly doesn’t have any sort of national security clearance. And yet, he’s supposedly having conversations with generals in hangars, learning secrets that the government (again, supposedly) can’t tell anyone else. Why? Well, Tom Delonge says it’s because he can provide a service that nobody else can: he has a platform they need.
“No one can debate that having conversations at that level is very, very rare,” says Alejandro Rojas, a UFO reporter who runs the International UFO Congress, the largest UFO conference in the United States. “[DeLonge is] able to get people to open up and talk with him. This is a cool guy you want to hang with and you want to be buddies with.” Those conversations and that amiability set him up to recruit a team impressive to almost anyone.
In a span of eight months with To The Stars, DeLonge recruited Jim Semivan, formerly of the CIA; Dr. Hal Puthoff, an esteemed technology scientist; Steve Justice, the former program director for Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs; Chris Mellon, former Assistant Deputy Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in the Clinton and Bush Administrations; and half a dozen other highly qualified, highly esteemed scientists.
“Forgive the cliché,” says Luis Elizondo, who once ran the government’s secret UFO investigation program and is now the To The Stars Director of Global Security & Special Programs, “but this is really a rockstar team.”
Every UFO researcher who spoke to The FADER for this piece agreed: the most unbelievable thing about this whole ordeal is how good DeLonge’s team is. “It might seem odd to some people that Tom DeLonge has built up this impressive team of scientists and former government insiders, but it doesn’t surprise me,” Nick Pope, an author, journalist and TV personality who used to study UFOs for the British government, says. “People do get starry-eyed, especially if your whole career has been about secrecy and silence. A rockstar is the absolute antithesis of that, and so it’s appealing.”
For decades, many aspects of government research — and especially anything having to do with alien life and UFOs — have been kept under a strict lock-and-key of security clearances. The CIA has declassified boxes of documentation dating back to the late 1940s from its own inconclusive investigations into UFO sightings. In 1947, the United States Air Force funded a program called Project Blue Book, which allowed American citizens to call in and report UFO sightings which would then be investigated by the team. A total of 12,618 sightings were reported before the Air Force terminated the program in 1969, and 701 of those remain “unidentified.”
There’s nothing more polar opposite from working in a dark room deep in the Pentagon than having your ideas and discoveries made into blockbuster movies. That’s especially true for Elizondo, whose job was caught in bureaucratic red tape and secrecy for a number of years. He told The FADER that when the funding for the so-called Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program came through in 2013, the verbiage was so unclear that another department took it, leaving him standing guard over his post without being relieved of duty for several years. He kept doing his job, investigating UFOs, but the organizational set-up kept him from being able to communicate his findings with his bosses.
So he wrote a resignation letter and left. “I had to leave the department that I loved so much in order to make sure information reached who it needed to reach,” he says. “Sometimes you have to do things like this to do what is necessary: to make sure that the public is getting the information they deserve.”
The resignation letter was leaked to the press (Elizondo says not by him), and that’s how the news that the government had been operating a secret UFO investigations team got out. A day or two before Elizondo left the department, DeLonge invited him to come work for him. The role presented a big change, even though Elizondo says his mission is the same. “I spent my entire career in the shadows,” he says. “With my past, this [press attention] is not very comfortable. [...] I’m so glad to be a part of this, but I definitely do not like the spotlight in any regard.”
No matter what To The Stars produces, Delonge has said, all of the organization’s efforts will be produced in communication with the Department of Defense. If Delonge is right, it would mean that the U.S. government will be publicly sharing information and ideas through a civilian. That’s the part — not the beliefs, or the ideas, or the plan — that concerns members of the UFO community. “I realized that this was the real deal,” UFO researcher Grant Cameron said in a 2017 interview, when he heard the list of names Tom DeLonge had recruited. “I’m thinking: I’ve seen this before.” The whole thing, Cameron said, reminds him of Bill Moore, the man who made Roswell famous in 1980 with a book relying on top-level government sources.
Cameron, and many others in the UFO community, believe that DeLonge is being used the same way Moore was, as part of the U.S. government’s “disclosure plan.” According to Cameron, “leaking stories is totally a U.S. phenomena,” and he believes that is the U.S. government’s way of allowing the public to know some information about extraterrestrial life. “They’re leaking the story, but they’re protecting the classified material.” And DeLonge, Cameron said, “is gonna make globs of money at the same time.”
But thus far, that’s not really true. To The Stars is set up as a public-benefit corporation, meaning that they are not exclusively trying to reap a profit and will be directed at the will of their shareholders to achieve a purpose, in this case studying UFOs. To The Stars is currently running a crowdfunding campaign to do research. As of publication, it has raised $2,392,022 with 2,606 investors. That’s 1/100th of the $200 million dollars they’re aiming for. But even if they meet that goal, it will still only be a beginning. A single F-35 stealth fighter costs around $100 million to make, and people already know how to build that.
Doubters of alien life and UFO existence, of course, are not going to be jazzed about DeLonge’s venture, but there are many who hope DeLonge triumphs. Plenty of American citizens seem open to discussions about alien life and discovery. A 2017 survey done by 20th Century Fox supposedly found that nearly 47% of Americans believe in aliens, and 39% believe aliens have visited earth before. The audience is there. The money just isn’t, at least yet. “I hope the Koch brothers would fund this rather than all the worthless stuff they do,” Senator Reid told The FADER.
In October 2016, DeLonge was a celebrity whose spastic emails to a campaign manager had leaked into the public domain. In October 2017, when To the Stars was announced, it was easy to dismiss the whole thing as a rockstar-funded vanity project. But in December, he was the president and CEO of a company that’s existence revealed a decade-long covert government UFO operation. DeLonge has a slew of out-there beliefs, but six months ago one of those beliefs was the existence of Elizondo’s program. And as of now, it’s completely unclear which of DeLonge’s beliefs are based on his own personal study and what other secrets he actually knows.
“[Our] success is reliant on the American people,” Elizondo says. “If they want us to be successful, I think we’ll flourish. If the American people decide it’s too fringe, I think the future is bleak. But I tend to be an optimist.”

UFO’s Are Real, And This Recent UFO Incident Above The Skies Of Oregon Confirms It
In October of 2017, a mysterious object overflew the skies above Oregon and quickly turned into a massive UFO hunt.
What started as a radar target moving at very high speed over Northern California turned into a series of eyewitness accounts made by commercial pilots traveling northward over Oregon.
Even F-15 fighters were launched to intercept the mysterious intruder that quickly became invisible to radar, and the F-15’s could catch up with the mystery craft.

An audio recording released this month reveals confusion between pilots, the control tower and radar operators after they detected a mysterious flying object in the skies of the state of Oregon, in the United States, which they failed to identify.
The UFO was spotted on October 25 last year at 4:30 pm (local time) when air traffic controllers noticed the presence of an object flying at high speeds on its radar.
Upon perceiving what they presumed was an unauthorized flight, a radar operator alarmed the authorities of Sector 31 of the Oakland Control Tower.
At that time, the unknown object traveled over Crater Lake to the valley of Willamette and moved “very fast at 37,000 feet.”
“You know that target south of the boundary there that 0027 code moving very fast at 37,000?” asked the Radar Operator.
Oakland Center Controller responded: “Oh, look at that thing, to what the Radar Operator responded, yeah, that’s, uh, crazy.”
Oakland Center Controller asked: “Huh, um… and you don’t have anything on him, huh?”
“I got nothing,” responded the Radar operator.
It was cause for real concern, as the mysterious craft did something extremely dangerous; it suddenly turned into a crowded stream of commercial airliners, where it disappeared from radar, but not from sight. The UFO was not responding to any radio calls and did not have a functioning transponder, reports The War Zone.
Soon after, confused commercial airliner pilots started calling in the reports, saying that they saw a large white aircraft traveling alongside them at a distance.
“Hey, it’s United 612, it’s just a white speck out there, I mean we can see it, but there’s no identification on it, just uh, that it’s there,” reported one of the pilots.
The Air Force was also aware of the mystery encounter and followed to contact closely. The USAF’s Western Air Defense sector jumped into action.
In order to solve the mystery to what Radar and Flight control picked up, US Air Force F15C Eagles, from Portland’s 142nd Fighter Wing were scrambled to intercept the UFO and take a closer look. However, despite the Fighter Jets’ powerful sensors and speed, they could not catch up with the UFO, which eventually disappeared both from radar and sight.
What the mystery craft was, remained a mystery as neither commercial airliner pilots nor Air Force pilots were able to identify it.
What do we know about it? It was big, it was whiteish in color, it flew at approximately 37,000 feet, and it was moving relatively fast, about the same speed as surrounding commercial airliners. The UFO, however, appeared and disappeared from radar, and was not emitting any signals. Furthermore, the UFO always stayed at the edge of the visual range, which made it nearly impossible for pilots to identify it.
The radar and audio recordings released to the public reveal what can easily be said as one of the most mysterious UFO encounters.
Whether the object was a man-made aircraft or visitors from another planet, we don’t know, but anything is possible until it’s proven otherwise.

The governments know the full extent of the ETs and UFOs. They have known since the 1940's. They keep it from us because they don't want us to know about the technology because then we will live free from the use from gas oil or coal ... and the powers that be don't want that they want to keep robbing and enslaving us. Some hardy Earth microbes could likely survive in the Saturn moon Enceladus' buried ocean, gobbling up hydrogen produced by interactions between seawater and rock, a new study suggests.
And the microbes tested in the study churn out methane as a metabolic byproduct. That's intriguing, because NASA's Cassini spacecraft detected methane in the plume of particles blasted out into space by Enceladus' powerful south-pole geysers.
"We were able to show that, under putative Enceladus conditions, biological methane production occurs in the lab," said study co-author Simon Rittmann, of the Department of Ecogenomics and Systems Biology at the University of Vienna in Austria. [Amazing Photos of Saturn's Icy Moon Enceladus]
This exploratory work identified one of the microbes, Methanothermococcus okinawensis, as the best suited for more in-depth study under Enceladus-like conditions. So the team exposed M. okinawensis to a variety of gas compositions and (relatively high) pressures at 150 degrees Fahrenheit (65 degrees Celsius) — basically, what you'd expect to find at hydrothermal vents on Enceladus' seafloor.
Astronomers have inferred the existence of such vents on Enceladus from several Cassini observations. For example, the Saturn orbiter spotted tiny silica particles and molecular hydrogen (H2) in the moon's plume, both of which are best explained by reactions between hot water and rock.
M. okinawensis grew well and produced methane in the team's experiments, which perhaps isn't terribly surprising, given that the organism was isolated from a hydrothermal vent off the Japanese island of Okinawa, at a depth of about 3,200 feet (975 meters).

In addition, Taubner and her colleagues modeled the water-rock reactions likely occurring in Enceladus' interior. They found that such reactions are likely producing lots of H2 — enough to sustain methanogenic organisms such as M. okinawensis, if any exist on the Saturn satellite. To be clear, study team members aren't claiming that Enceladus' methane is biological; after all, the substance can be produced geologically as well (by reactions between rock and hot water, in fact). But the new results could help inform the search for life on ocean moons in the solar system, Rittmann said.
"From an astronomical perspective, future missions to Enceladus or other icy moons should be equipped to be able to detect methanogenic biosignatures related to methanogens, like certain lipids or ratios of certain carbon isotopes," he said.
There are currently no Enceladus missions on the books of NASA or any other space agency. But both NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) are developing missions to explore the icy ocean moons of Jupiter.
NASA's entry, called Europa Clipper, will assess the habitability of the buried ocean on the Jovian satellite Europa over the course of dozens of flybys. ESA's mission, called Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE), will also study Europa, though it will focus more on Ganymede and, to a lesser extent, Callisto.
Europa Clipper and JUICE are both scheduled to launch in the 2020s. NASA is also working on a separate Europa lander mission, though that project remains a concept at the moment.
The new study was published online today (Feb. 27) in the journal Nature Communications.
Scientists have also spotted methane in the atmosphere of Mars, and they're not sure where the Red Planet's store of the stuff is coming from. But more information should be coming soon: The Trace Gas Orbiter, part of the European-Russian ExoMars exploration program, is scheduled to begin measuring and mapping Mars methane in mid-April.
It may not be as widely available as say a bottle of Poland Spring, but the water on the Moon may be more accessible than first thought, giving new hope for its potential.
The analysis, which appeared in the journal Nature Geoscience earlier this month, may wind up letting researchers understand where the water comes from. It could also indicate whether it could be used to sustain life or for conversion into rocket fuel, breaking it down into its base elements, hydrogen and oxygen.
"Regardless of the specific composition or formation mechanism, we conclude that OH/H2O [Hydroxide/Water] can be present on the Moon under thermal conditions more wide-ranging than previously recognized," the study's abstract reads. The study was conducted by Michael Poston, Joshua Bandfield, Rachel Klima and Christopher Edwards.
“By putting some limits on how mobile the water or the OH on the surface is, we can help constrain how much water could reach the cold traps in the polar regions,” said Poston in a NASA press release.
Water was first discovered on the Moon in 2009 by three spacecraft. However, it was believed up until now that the water was trapped in "cold traps" at the Moon's poles. That is no longer the case.
According to NASA, a cold trap is a region that’s "so cold, the water vapor and other volatiles which come into contact with the surface will remain stable for an extended period of time, perhaps up to several billion years."
It's still unclear how accessible the water is, but the study does suggest that it can be found on the lunar surface both during the day and the night.
It's also unclear what its source is, though the team did not rule out that the water may be emanating from the Moon itself, via minerals.
“Some of these scientific problems are very, very difficult, and it’s only by drawing on multiple resources from different missions that are we able to hone in on an answer,” said NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter project scientist John Keller in the release.
The study follows recent reports that suggest there may be an underground network of lava tubes on the Moon which may provide access to subsurface ice, as well as water.
MIT and Arizona State University researchers are hot on the heels of the Universe’s first stars: they’ve traced the faint signals of hydrogen gas energized by stellar radiation just 180 million years after the Big Bang.

Where does everything come from? That’s one of the questions people have been burning to answer since times immemorial. It’s a hugely complicated question, but science can offer some bits and pieces to start cobbling the answer together. A paper published today by MIT and Arizona State University researchers uncovered a fundamental one such piece: the earliest evidence of hydrogen gas and the earliest evidence of stars igniting that we’ve ever seen.
The gas from whence we came
Using a table-sized radio antenna plopped down in a remote part of western Australia, dubbed EDGES (Experiment to Detect Global EoR Signature), the team managed to pick up trace signals generated by hydrogen gas, just 180 million years after the Big Bang. This is the earliest evidence we’ve ever seen for the presence of hydrogen in the early universe — a very important find, considering hydrogen is the simplest, and thus first, atom out there. The team was also able to determine that by this time, the gas bore traces of the first stars in the world.
“This is the first real signal that stars are starting to form, and starting to affect the medium around them,” says study co-author Alan Rogers, a scientist at MIT’s Haystack Observatory.
“What’s happening in this period is that some of the radiation from the very first stars is starting to allow hydrogen to be seen. It’s causing hydrogen to start absorbing the background radiation, so you start seeing it in silhouette, at particular radio frequencies.”
The EDGES instrument was designed to pick up radio signals generated during a time in the universe’s history known as the Epoch of Reionization, or EoR. It’s during this time that we think the first sources of light (such as stars) sprang up in the world, from a sort of cosmic primordial soup made up mostly of hydrogen gas. Not much else was happening before this time, mostly due to a lack of energy to change objects in the universe: hydrogen, for example, was virtually invisible, as its energy state made it indistinguishable from the surrounding cosmic background radiation.

But the birth of these sources of light and energy ionized the hydrogen gas, changing its energy state, and making it release energy as radio waves — and that’s exactly what EDGES was designed to pick up.
However, not all went according to plan. When the team looked at the frequency range the antenna was designed to pick up, between 100 to 200 megahertz, they hardly picked up any signal.
Void-cold
One explanation they came up with is that the theoretical models which we used to calculate what emissions this early hydrogen would give off overestimated the gas’ temperature. So they re-crunched the numbers, this time assuming that the hydrogen and its environment were at about the same, lower temperature. They decided their best bet was to search the 50 to 100 megahertz frequency range, so they returned their antenna and flipped the switch again.
“As soon as we switched our system to this lower range, we started seeing things that we felt might be a real signature,” Rogers says.
The device picked up a flattened absorption profile (i.e. a dip in the radio wave-spectrum) centered around 78 megahertz. Rogers adds that the frequency corresponds to “roughly 180 million years after the Big Bang”, adding that “this has got to be the earliest” detection of a signal from hydrogen we yet have. To put things into perspective, we know that the universe is at least 11 billion years old, and most estimates place its age upwards of 13.5 billion years.
The radio profile matches theoretical predictions of a star-hydrogen interaction. These early stellar bodies poured ultraviolet radiation out into the void, ionizing any surrounding body of hydrogen. As a result, the gas began to absorb background radiation, which changed the spin on its single electron. Ultimately, this change made the atoms emit, rather than absorb, radiation, at a characteristic wavelength of 21 centimeters, or a frequency of 1,420 megahertz — becoming, in effect, ‘visible’ for the first time.
Red-shift affected these waves, so by the time it reached present-day Earth, it was somewhere in the range of 100 megahertz.
But the dip in the radio spectrum was also stronger and deeper than the models predicted — suggesting that the hydrogen was indeed colder than previously assumed. The team estimates that the hydrogen gas and the universe as a whole must have been twice as cold as previously estimated, at about 3 kelvins, or -270.15 degrees Celsius / -454 degrees Fahrenheit.
The edges of discovery

The research is likely the best window we’ll have into the universe’s early history for a long time to come. It took an incredible scientific effort to obtain these results. It took years of hard work for engineers and scientists to design, re-design, and re-calibrate the EDGES instrument to even have a hope of picking up on these signals. Peter Kurczynski, program director for Advanced Technologies and Instrumentation in the Division of Astronomical Sciences at the National Science Foundation, the organization that built EDGES, compares it to “being in the middle of a hurricane and trying to hear the flap of a hummingbird’s wing.”
“Sources of noise can be a thousand times brighter than the signal they are looking for,” he explains.
It was built in the middle of Australia’s nowhere (which has to be at least nowhere squared) because it was the most remote place they could get to — and that limited interference from man-made radio signals, which would easily overpower any of the signals the antenna was designed to pick up on.
“It is unlikely that we’ll be able to see any earlier into the history of stars in our lifetimes,” lead author Judd Bowman of ASU says. “This project shows that a promising new technique can work and has paved the way for decades of new astrophysical discoveries.”
It’s also the first actual glimpse we get into this period of the universe, a particularly important one — these were, after all, the universe’s early days. The foundation of everything we see today was laid down during that Epoch.

De intensiteit van de waargenomen signalen laat veronderstellen dat het universum veel sneller is afgekoeld dan gedacht. Dit kan leiden tot het herzien van de kosmologische modellen, en het mogelijk beter begrijpen van de mysterieuze donkere materie, die voor telescopen onzichtbaar is.
De bewuste astrofysici, onder wie Brian Schmidt, winnaar van de Nobelprijs voor Fysica in 2011, noemen de ontdekking “revolutionair”. Anderen roepen op tot “voorzichtigheid”. De observatie moet nog bevestigd worden door instrumenten en andere teams van wetenschappers.
WETENSCHAP & PLANEET Dat er water te vinden is op onze maan, weten we al een tijdje. Nieuw onderzoek heeft nu echter uitgewezen dat die waterbronnen veel beter toegankelijk zijn dan eerst gedacht.
Bijna een decennium geleden werd met sondes bevestigd dat er water is op de maan. De theorie luidde toen dat het vervat zat aan de polen in zogenaamde ‘cold traps’. Dat zijn gebieden die zo koud zijn dat waterdamp en andere vluchtige stoffen die met het oppervlak in aanraking komen gedoemd zijn om daar misschien wel miljarden jaren op rij stabiel te blijven. Maar nieuw en veelbelovend onderzoek zet die theorie op de helling, zo blijkt uit een recente publicatie in het vakblad Nature Geoscience gemeld.
Twee maanmissies, de Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter en de Chandrayaan-1, geven aan dat het water op onze maan over het hele oppervlak verspreid kan zijn. Het zou dus niet beperkt zijn tot een bepaalde regio’s (zoals de polen) of vastzitten in een bepaald terrein (zoals kraters). Bovendien lijkt het water zowel dag als nacht aanwezig te zijn, voornamelijk in de vorm van OH (of hydroxyl). Dit bestaat uit één zuurstofatoom en één waterstofatoom.
Hoe toegankelijk het water is en waar het vandaan komt, is niet duidelijk. Maar mogelijk kan het uiteindelijk als drinkwater dienen, tot waterstof en zuurstof voor raketmotoren worden geconverteerd of tot lucht voor ruimtereizigers worden herleid.
That question gets more difficult to answer every day as new announcements are released about robotic achievements and advances in artificial intelligence. Just in the past week we’ve seen a realistic robotic dog that can open a door and fight off a human who tries to stop it, a realistic walking humanoid robot that puts out fires, a call to equip robots with kill switches, a warning that robots will use humans as guinea pigs and a call to be cautious rather than dystopic. Which one is it?
Boston Dynamics, a world leader in robotics, released two videos of one of its latest inventions – a four-legged SpotMini robot dog that can open a door with its ‘mouth’. The popularfirst video shows how cute the robotic pet looks as it grabs the knob without the usual canine slobber, while the second, which is called “Testing Robustness,” shows the pit bull wannabe fighting off a human who tries to stop it. Here’s a telling statement from the second video’s commentary:
“The ability to tolerate and respond automatically to disturbances like these improves successful operation of the robot. (Note: This testing does not irritate or harm the robot.)”
What about irritating or harming humans?

Next, the Italian Institute of Technology’s (IIT) released a video of its WALK-MAN humanoid robot performing a simulated disaster rescue operation during an industrial plant disaster where it walks into a room, turns off a leaking gas valve, clears out debris and operates a fire extinguisher. While not fully autonomous (yet), all it will take is for one WALK-MAN to rescue a baby in a fire to move humans to embrace it like the Sony Walkman of the 80s and 90s (which ultimately took control of how humans listen to music … coincidence?).
Do we need to put a ‘kill switch’ or ‘kill chip’ in the brains of robots to stop them before their AI turns on their human overlords (if they even exist anymore) and kills their makers? Futurist Dr. Michio Kaku said in a Reddit Q/A session that he thinks it’s imperative to do this … and here’s why.
“I think we should chip their brain to shut them off if they have murderous thoughts.”
Murderous thoughts in robots! The plot of many sci-fi movies, which Dr. Kaku doesn’t see happening until 2100. But what about in the meantime? Fellow futurologist Dr. Ian Pearson has his own dystopian view of the future. He told The Sun he believes robots will act like rogue states and, as they gain more intelligence than humans, turn us into their own enslaved guinea pigs.
“We’ll have trained it to be like us, trained it to feel emotions like us, but it won’t be like us. It will be a bit like aliens off Star Trek—smarter and more calculated in its actions. It will be insensitive to humans, viewing us as barbaric. So when it decides to carry out its own experiments, with viruses that it’s created, it will treat us like guinea pigs.”
Guinea pigs of robots! Another great sci-fi plot that seems awfully close to reality – far sooner than 2100. Is there any hope for humans against robots and their murderous, rogue-state AI brains?
“What we are faced with, this list suggests, is not an existential threat to humanity but sharper forms of the problems with which we are already grappling. AI should be seen not in terms of super-intelligent machines but as clever bits of software that, depending on the humans wielding them, can be used either for good or ill.”
